Harry smith to me is <hes> you know he's it's even called harry bulldogs smith or whatever and maybe that's the same thing going back to where i was going to be. I'm over thinking it. I think he's got a great upside and all he we needed to do is continue to develop his entertainment side personality side and he's doing that. I like jeff cobb. I like those bruisers. I big fiscal fiscal guys that add balance to what we're trying to do at a._w._s. Everyone can't be three hundred pounds nor would you want that but <hes> having some size some athleticism lettuces and we're that size always interests me. There are a lot of other guys out there and i believe that if time goes on when when people see our success excess and how a unique exciting and episodic television shows are going to be o._t. And t- that we'll have a lotta guys. Contracts expired other places go to inquire about coming to work for us. That's going to be that's not going to be. That's not going to be hard to figure out. I don't think i think that's going to happen but until then you got still got still going to continue city to add to your roster make it stronger and add what you think you have shortcomings on i think our shortcomings right now our size and and at villains and and all three of those guys i just mentioned <hes> could be until the bill lows if needed timber was who on the awa roster now. "Palace of wisdom. You never know. What is enough until you've had too much? You have to see how things and make your judgments. About some. Then will we ever have another series of sixties Tobias? With that kind of. But I think it's gonna be in our lifetime. And it would be different. This is an unfolding story. I truly believe what we wouldn't be talking about it this morning tonight. It's it's something which engages us. We know something happened. We not entirely sure what it is. Which is why I wrote the book to get down to the nitty gritty. I remember Harry Smith who was a remarkable independent artist. And filmmaker in New York. Absolutely incredible black. He he's somebody asked him. What did you think of the sixties? And he says it was great. I if I knew what we were doing. And I think I think that the the sixties was largely unconsciously intuitive not largely but in many respects, it was an intuitive response. The times I think people always knew why they were doing things I'm not even show people need to know why? But it engaged the imagination. I was interested in the earlier caller. You talked about the electrifying spiritual uplift of the Beatles. Arrival in nineteen sixty four after the terrible tragedy of of of the assassination of the president. And it's suddenly lifted that that depression and fear away for many people, and I'm the Whoopi Goldberg talking about being taken to the Beatles and changed her life. And he was the Beatles wouldn't play to segregated audiences. And so and so there was this really breath of fresh air now that fresher wants to be.

He quit before. I did. How long can you do a plank for well? I I once I did five minutes, but I'll never do that again. Wow. But I could do it like for two two minutes with us with yet. Michelle Obama wants to challenge because we did push ups, and she's now like she said plank is her thing. I think she could do it for five minutes you should challenge. Michelle. Wait. No, I have to hear because we were watching in rehearsal. And we were talking about your ass. And I need to know what you do. We want to know your butt exercises. Well, I've number of them like like, okay. Okay. So this is sound so dumb. Because when I say, the first thing, I know you're gonna do something. Really? No, no. I'm not. Yes. You are. Well, okay. Try you. So you get done. I'll force okay. Is someone else in the room? No. Well, sometimes. Okay. So you get down on all fours, and you put your leg up like you make L Greene. Right. And the just do it up like that. I know right. I know that when fire hydrants. Yes, these are like not new thing. Then I've got a comedy time. Do you do that up in the air three sets of twenty five twenty five? Right. And then I have a power played. And you do you do squats. You just do old fashioned things. And I have to confess a zoom. Do you Zuma? You know, you do it at home. Yeah. I would like to see that. No. Okay. She brings out like the silly side of Ellen in a way that a lot of guests. "I don't know if you ever saw that with Siam and everything too. Yeah. I remember seeing pictures of it. You know? Yeah. Wh why why was he confined to a wheelchair? Did you ever know? Because I remember Bret told me that there was some kind of operation that dynamite could get and he was ready even offered to pay for it. And dine was like absolutely not, you know, I'll never take your money. Don't waste your time. Sort of thing. I never heard that. I should probably ask bread. Pretty sure he told me that story in less. I read it somewhere. But I think Bret told me that. Yeah. I I mean, I never I never heard that. But I know I just figured it was always the back and all kinds of neurological damage from that and yeah. But again, that's another one. It's like when you when when he's gone, and then he became like, this this this recluse will see anyone Kate. You know, like people would want we go to England. And and you know, wanna see him. I think I know he would it would it would seem Ben wa and later he would see Brett, and I know Harry Smith he would see Harry Smith. But most people he wouldn't you know in his daughter, but for the most part like guys wanted to see him. It was like, you know, no, he's not interested in seeing anyone from wrestling. And he would never like none of the British wrestlers. Who went you know? 'cause again, you had this generation of British wrestlers where he was this guy who was a legend to them, and he didn't even want to see or be around wrestling or anything he came to WBZ show once in England, then what brought him back. Back. And I remember he was in a wheelchair. It's the only time ever met him. Besides the time in the hotel lobby in Winnipeg, and he was super friendly and his kind of holding court telling stories, and everyone was just kind of sitting around, you know, talking to them and listen to what he had to say. So it was actually pretty cool because he was really good spirits that time, and I know Chris said that a lot of times he wasn't. But and then, you know, it's just hard for me to believe that a guy who never had, you know, a paralyzing accident would have to be in a wheelchair especially as modern medicine got better. And better that somebody couldn't have done some kind of operations or something at least get them up and walking around. You're probably right. And I never really thought of that. But you're you're you're you're probably right. Yeah. And I don't know what it was. But yeah, you know, what I mean who who knows the mentality and the torture that he was living because again like, you know, like think about this. You're thirty nine years old you're in a wheelchair. These guys where your contemporaries are still in wrestling in. And stars that and it's gotta be, you know, just I mean, the whole thing started to be, you know, just a killer on his psyche. I a few years ago he had a gofundme page for medical expenses and won't say who who is in charge of it. But you know, out of respect the dynamite kid and his legacy. I donated some money to it, you know, hopefully, hoping that it would help him in some way, shape or form. Even though he didn't know me from flying the wall. But couple of months later, I got an Email from Marty Jones who obviously famous old school English wrestler who said that the go foamy was all scam by the who is very close to the dynamite. Actually was his wife from what I from. What you you walked out on him? Yeah. Yes. She took the money and walked out on him..

We thought it was the Vietnam war, and we women fight for our rights and African Americans would fight, you know, everybody was fighting for their rights. But now everybody is, you know, you think it's worse than Vietnam. And a lot of kids have being drafted off to get killed there. Have you do think it's worse than at Phnom because I think there's a malevolence to that. I have never seen before. "But as far as is so funny because the songs great but boy went out gore does it it sounds like it came from his book of poetry boy yes it's even more powerful more powerful and you know al gore's poetry we all know is some of the most powerful poetry there is mhm planning harry smith understanding yeah he does and that's why harry asked him to recite his own poetry not not from some rock band oh but this came from the mind of al gore himself one fin september soon a floating appears nights sun midnight sun vapors rise fever settles an acid see that tunes bones all snow glides from the allied father's floods for luthan hard rain comes quickly quickly then dirt is part kindling is placed in the forest for the lightning celebration unknown creatures take on morrison ready they're stirrups passion seeks heroes and friends the bell of the city on the hill is wrong shepherd cries the hour of choosing has arrive we are your tools here or you're too i can't get enough of that poll right and then we've had it for what eight years probably no listen yeah i wanted to prepare you for the response from harry smith because it's priceless i mean you have that cheesy awful nonsensical poem read as if it's so beautiful fhu incredibly poignant this is either of the most important words ever spoken and that's that's the way he delivers it and then you got this response.
