Away from your candidate at that point, especially these days with what's going on here and why. I think if you have doubts and independence, they have doubts. So they're the ones who are up for grabs of you. If you think that Biden is very impaired, you probably don't vote for me if you think that he just lost the debate, but he was able to handle his own. That's why I'm saying no curse. I think he probably I don't know. I mean, I haven't seen enough of them, but I worry that he is impaired. Mel Mac is a kind of dinnerware plates, and the planet's name is Mel Mac, and he always tries to eat the neighbor's cat. That's kind of funny. And you know, there was funny stuff in it. And then the other reason I loved it is that it was so just remarkably stupid. It was just so stupid hand puppet. Interacting with human beings. That was just great. Alright, good times. Right. Speaking of Ah, Good times and entertainment and Yeah, I like Harry Shearer a lot. He's a very bright man. He could be exceptionally funny. And he also he's got this horse that is so high. You come down off it. Yeah. Yeah, because he always thinks he's the smartest man in the room. You really He pretty much and he is he usually is. Yeah, That's the thing. I mean, he he's a genius, and he I think his career started and you could look this up to you. And this is just now bubbling up in my mind. Ah, there used to be a show on the radio years ago called it takes a wise child. Or something like that, where they would bring on these little smarty pants, kids and quiz them about stuff, you know, and ah, take it takes a wise child, I think And and he was a contestant, or ah, on this and just cleaned up. You know, the long running cartoon Simpson's confirmed in June under renewed pressure from the Black lives matter movement that it would no longer have white actors doing the non White characters. Um Harry Shearer. Ah! Says. That's ridiculous. It's just ridiculous. Actors should be able to play. Outside their own experience, he said. I have a very simple belief about acting. The job of the actor is to play someone who they are not said surer. That's my job. I play somebody I'm not. And I'm certainly not Dr Hibbert. I would play Dr Hibbert. You know, he has a point. Aziz. Um, can on the day But on the other hand I don't I don't know how to put it. Politically. Speaking appearance, speaking It's just not a marginalized if it's a marginalized community, why white people get all the roles anyway? That's that's my question. Why not hire someone? It's not the same thing is saying, Well, I'm not a doctor, but I play one on TV. We should only hire Doc. No, it's not the same. It's not the same, but Harry Shearer's just He's brilliant. Yeah, Um The Simpsons will no longer use white actors to voice non white characters. This isn't surprising. Well, first all the Simpsons or yellow is right, So because there's always been a conversation what razor this right because they're yellow hadn't even thought about that. Now. This is in response to I think there is a an actress for the Netflix show Big mouth who is a white Jewish actors who voices 1/2 black nerdy teen age. Girl. She and out she's not going to do it. And then the guy who voices Cleveland from family guy who was a white man, and Cleveland's voice is intentionally and walking on eggshells here, a white sounding voice in the show, But he's announced he's not going to do it. So now this is the next kind of domino to fall. We're talking about big names. Now here, Harry Shearer in hankers area. Yeah, well, How Hank is area. Used to voice Apu, the Quickie Mart guy right with an Indian accent. But that changed a couple of years ago. Remember how Ah, there's a big hubbub about the fact that it was culturally appropriating the Indian voice by him doing that hangs area came out, said I don't want to do the same or from making people mad, right? That was just about the one and character now, Harry here is not going to do Dr Hibbert, who was a black doctor in the show. And I just wonder how how many Mother you shows or Angus cartoons are going to go this direction. Well, that's the thing you could understand. I think you could understand that, you know, having white actors portray characters on screen of a different race. I mean, you were Back in the day with all the westerns we used to see all those white actors portraying Indians. Ah, you know, I mean, that kind of thing is, it's like, Well, wait a minute. We do have Native American actors in this country. We have Asian actors. We don't need to have people made up to look Asian, right? That's one thing with the voice with the voice. Acting. I okay? I think it's up to the individual who's doing it. That's what I think, too, and I have no problem. If an actor actress feels uncomfortable doing it, it's their prerogative. If they want to step down, it's just Ah. I feel strange about it because I have a friend who does a lot of audio books who, I guess voice acting but well, dio characters in some of his books. If it's fiction, it's a kind of a different thing. But is it well because that's what this is. I mean, if the character I mean there's a character that I wrote in one of its book that that's a black agent for on athlete, a fiction book, any voices him a certain way well, is that if the dialogue is written With On accent. What are you going to do to me? If the expel outwards differently, Right, Right, Right, Right. It's it's just. Ah, yeah, it's it's tough because it has a voice actor. You want to do the best job you can if you're hired to do the job. You want to do the best job you can to keep that audiobook entertaining. At the same time. "As it it's it's the Simpsons family guy it's only shows that she really pushed the envelope and put real people on the stage and Americans have a problem with that son yeah well I think I think thankfully even the most sensitive Americans would feel a little foolish about complaining about with a little moving piece of paper says yeah yeah Judas well before we could ask you what it's like living with a man who is his mind is constantly moving in a very strange direction but I want to ask you about your music first and you've been called I guess the jazz folk singer with the touches of the great American songbook you can mix a lot of the genre together it beautifully and I'm just wondering where your inspiration comes from well I'm very flexible background originally from when when my father now retired but he was not the technical accounting for thirty five years term so my upbringing was very much a classical music and spending every weekend rehearsals I come garden but you don't have it enormous Jack so I would be listening to Coldplay only and not the people that Jamie and thank them for what they found okay you know I I believe these people alongside the great classics I didn't play classical music and in the midst of that was the most beautiful but actually melancholy well frankly if it was just has a high content you know first on the phone company and and so those are the three things I think you've written here very very clearly in my music and and there's there's no for the for the very rich British forces ten of humor and definitely underlying medical melancholy that goes with it at one time and I really think that's what that's what my music when I come in and use the time we played some for my audience here on WBZ so let's listen then all it's known that and you to do some things aren't worth anything to stand by reaching you fun this is the very beautiful lady Judas on Harry Shearer is.

But then I realized later on in the day, the Clinton checks, and and did not get nominations that blew me away at our Powell Bryan Adams, his show Pretty Woman. It didn't every category. I didn't get single single. Tony did not into one. So why do anything about this Haiti's town? This is like lead with all the nomination..

"His daughter's baby and snap signs of paper. That says Anthony can have what fifty thousand dollars Anthony can have raised. I don't remember what it is. There's a lot of like that farce business where there is object s- that are changing have. I just think it was important to to make clear that Anthony sizes paper saying, he's the father of this baby. Because that's how snaps then try to wrangle him into marrying Mersa toe may to give this unborn child that does not exist father. And he also says that the Phoenicia are famous assassins, he'll send them after him. And this is there's a there's a thing here where the Phoenicia is. They're really proud that one of their suits was in the newspaper. And so they've an article about a about a gangster who was murdered in one of their suits. And then and and. Anthony's is trying to they're like, oh, you they're very proud of their work. They consider artists, and they say take a look at this. And they show him that article. And he takes it as more proof that they are assassins. I run the press clippings, and I'm like, all right? That wasn't like hilarious. It's like clever callback. Yeah. It was one of the better far school. We'll we'll spendings of the of the movie, I think do you wanna talk about how that turns into a kind of random jazz piano sequence where Anthony brothers are playing jazz piano together. It's not really pertinent to the plot. But it is a lot of fun. It's basically excuse for Harry Shearer to like waves finger in the air as if he's listening to. A hop and soon. Yeah. This is one of the few moments in that was like after the claim Asian opera singer. That was the moment movie. Whereas like what? It was amazing to see Harry Shearer act because as we all know in real life. You cannot feel joy. So to see that happen. L really arstan. Given us so much enjoyment over the has his spinal tap, the Simpsons the voice of that stormtrooper in the original Star Wars Linke unfunny radio show. Oh, wow. Ooh. Got look just want to make clear the Harry Shearer depictions of Dan McCloy did not reset Representative of the law the house. No. I love Harry shirt. I just find that radio show in explicable. But listen to it. No, the the government is is the blast to get him to my house. They're trying to get me to leave my apartment, but I'm not going to do. Anyway, that was thing to say. So Anthony meets the daughter aids, Mercer Tomi. Yes. Do they like each other? What? No, they do not Anthony. They don't hit it off kit it off. No, no. So all right. This is where I lose the thread a little bit. So is around now that they introduce an additional character in the form of Tim curry playing Dr pool. Yes. Snaps his elocution teacher. Dunster of what language he's like. He's a real Henry Higgins type is a doctor of speak, Allah. She. Yeah, he can like Henry Higgins, he can guess where anyone's from based on their accent Anthony decides this is the guy who I'm going to on the palm lease off on. The world this lonely young hunk, Tim curry. Yes. And Now, Dan, I think you're maybe the world's number one Tim curry fan. Correct. Let's say let's say that's true. Did it feel strange to us to me when even knowing that Tim curry was in the movie from seeing his name in the credits when he suddenly appeared bringing an English accent with him. I will say that this is going to sound like such a an insult about like like a person's appearances Tim curry is a unique looking fellow. But I've never seen him looking weirder than this movie. They really they really make him look kinda strange. Yeah. And that's that's keeping in mind that his first major breakthrough role that I can think of was as a as a cross dressing vampire from outer space and here he looks like even that that if I saw Dr Franken furhter walking down the street. I'd be like all right. But if I saw Dr pool walking down the street, it'd be like that guy's got some weird issues..
