But on the flip side, we would say that if you get news that implies a negative growth shock or the economy slowing down, then in that environment you would erase value. And then other words, the protective power of the as a hedge but downside growth risk has you can that's very different to the last cycle when rates were by their lower bound and to have limited rooms for when we had British jobs. That's one reason why we think investors should really start to allocation to corporate income in this post pandemic era. And the big news this morning is the renewed U.S. China tensions Joe Biden, of course saying that he wants to limit capital flows from the U.S. to Chinese businesses. I wonder how you're reading of how that will play out in the markets. Our M live team here says that Chinese stocks are going to get past the current hit that it's just a short term thing. This is my conversation with eugenia Constantino at Socrates in the city from a few weeks ago. This is amazing. I hope you're listening and enjoying it. So Herod mocks. Jesus. So this is part of the whole thing. He mocks him, puts him in royal robes. Is he the one that put The Crown of thorns? That was done later after. Okay, so now we go back to pilot. You're right. And pilots like, oh, you're back. Why are you back? He was hoping. So the chief priests are back. And what do they say now? Okay, so pilot sees that they're back, and he was hoping that harrod would take care of it for him. So he wouldn't have to deal with this. We bothered with this. But that causes him to be less likely to want to put Jesus to death because he figures, and he actually says this, harrod didn't find anything wrong. He didn't find him deserving of death. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to punish him. I'm going to satisfy you. I'm going to chastise him. We're going to have him scourged. And that's when he says Jesus to be scurried. And he's hoping to placate hatred toward Jesus by having Jesus scourged. We have to be clear. That was the hardest part of the book for me to read when he described the scourging. So pilot is such a practical cynical soulless human being. That even though he knows Jesus is innocent. To pacify these furious, powerful people that have come. He says, I will do what I am able to do, which is to say, I will have him scourged, which is worse than being whipped by the Jews. How much horrifying we don't need to go into it. But he does that, hoping to end it there. He does that to save Jesus life. Yes. Ironically. Yes. Because as bad as it was, it's better than being crucified. He didn't think Jesus, he might have thought this, well, Jesus must have annoyed them for something. Maybe he deserves to be punished for something, but he had been violated Roman law. But so he's effectively saying I can do this. And so I will do this. So I'm happy. And so the horror of the scourging takes place. Remember, also, they accused Jesus of being a king, when they first say he's an evildoer, and pilot doesn't do anything. He goes out, talks to them, comes back inside the praetorian says to Jesus, are you the king of the Jews? Jesus says my kingdom is not of this world, so there is that idea of a treasonous charge that they can clock. They change it from blasphemy to a charge that does carry the death penalty. But pilot does not think that Jesus is a threat. So he doesn't buy that, he realizes because the first thing out of their minds is he's an evil doer. Out of their mouths is evildoer. And then they concoct this idea of treason. So he's not buying it. So so he has Jesus Christ. So Jesus is scourged, and then he questions, Jesus. Okay, so he had questions, Jesus before, but he comes back out and says, as I find out, crime in him, but, you know, I will go ahead and have them scourged. So he has them scrooged, brings him back. And Jesus is very bloody from the discouraging. And this is when pilot says behold the man. Look at him. Isn't that enough for you? But we're out of bed, mollifying them. It seems to inflame them. Crucify him. This is what really is not enough to see him like that. And this is what he says, why? What is he done? This is what pilot does not understand. So this is when they say we have a law and by that law he ought to die because he made himself the son of God. So one of the, again, the people don't seem to understand the way pilot is portrayed in the gospels, is exactly correct. Pilot was reluctant to do anything with Jesus because from the beginning Jesus did not behave like a guilty person. He wasn't begging for himself. You say that several times in here and the most dramatic example of it, which again, most of us have heard, but you managed to paint the scene so beautifully that it strikes with fresh power that Jesus has been brutalized in a way that's difficult to read. And pilot is now questioning him and in a sense saying your kingdom is not of this world. What is going on here? He's in a sense. That's after the scourging. Yeah, no, that's what I'm saying. After the scourging. So pana was always reluctant, but after the scourging, when they say he claims to be a God, the son of God, now pilot is really concerned because Jesus was not afraid of pilot, and that was obvious. Now he goes back inside the praetorium and says, where are you from? And Jesus does it answer? And now pilot get egg gets angry, right? Don't you know that I have the power to crucify you or the power to release you? Because he's not used to people not responding to him and then Jesus says, you have no power unless it was given to you from above. Now pilot really doesn't want anything to do with Jesus. Well, but that's what's so hard. I'm just saying like if somebody's an agnostic and they're reading this and they read your book, it's hard to conclude anything other than that there is no one in the universe like Jesus because if you have been brutally scourged so horrific and then you're talking to the man who has power over life or death and you respond with this level of clarity and truth and fearlessness that you have no to tell pilot. You have no power. You have no power over me unless it has been given you from above if I was pilot. I would have been scared to do it when you was. Who am I talking about? I think he absolutely was. We continue with a special edition of the air from Texas show..

"From COVID zero. So it's definitely a strong set of numbers for China's economy. The question though is how sustainable will it be? We know that global trade is slow, global demand for merchandise goods is weak. So that will probably kick in again at some point. And plus the momentum the reopening momentum is expected to fade. But nonetheless, it's a good set of numbers. The official sector in China will start to very important meetings in Sunday onwards. So it's pretty positive backdrop for that given where China was only a year ago. And massively valuable analysis, thank you for weighing in on the conversation and the current in Hong Kong. Now one of apple's key partners in China says suppliers there are likely to move more production out of the country far faster than observers anticipated. For more we're now joined by our Asia tech team editor Edwin Chen. So I had when I look at the SPLC function to break down the supply chain of apple and it's remarkable how many names go into that. What's a sudden worry about? Apple is hundreds of suppliers, as you know, yes. And a lot of them are based in China. I think really witnessing is perhaps the start of a historic shift in global supply chains that really began perhaps a few years ago when the U.S. started ratcheting up pressure on China. And this gained momentum during the COVID zero years when the unpredictability of policy and supply chain disruptions and curbs on the movement of people and components really got people worried about having so much manufacturing based in China and really, I think what gore tech the supplier is alluding to is that this momentum is really accelerated and passed months as the Biden administration ramped up curbs on China, including on, for instance, a semiconductors. And you can kind of see the trend and it's why I think especially in 2022, a lot of U.S. brands, foreign brands that have a lot of manufacturing in China are now looking for alternatives to diversify away from some of this risk. What are the alternatives? I mean, we've heard the American secretaries drive through Singapore and talk about onshoring French shoring. Where are the Friends to shore on? And is it all roads lead back to America? Are worries the real alternative? I think for many years, people were looking at Southeast Asian locations, such as Vietnam, Samsung, for instance, has a massive manufacturing presence in Vietnam. Malaysia, for instance, is a global center for stuff like chip packaging. But in recent years, India has come to the fore. I think it has a massive domestic market that a lot of foreign brands are interested in Tapping and gaining proximity to. But I think at the beginning stages of this massive or historic shift and would like to see how it plays out. Edwin, let's see what momentum grows in terms of the onshore in French or in narrative Edwin Chan in Hong Kong. First of all, at headlines from around the world, let's get to Simone. She's in Doha. Your Daily Prayer
A Prayer for the Mind of Christ
"Jesus served the people around him. He taught his disciples, he healed many, and he brought people to life. His final empty ink came when he allowed himself to be beaten and hung on a cross to die. He stayed silent when the court flung accusations against him. He refused to play harrod's game when hair demanded signs to prove who he was. And he did this, all for you, and for me. In Jesus own words, he said, greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. John 1513. We can live this example when we put someone's needs or wants before our own. Love, inconveniences itself. Serving others and having the mindset of Christ means we will experience disruptions where we can practice servanthood. It will mean that we think the best of others, instead of the worst. The mindset of Christ helps us lay aside our worst case scenarios and view other people through the lens of humility so we can discover the power of God at work in them and us. Let's pray, holy God, without you, I have nothing but with you, I have everything. Help me lay aside my selfish ambitions and the vain conceit that sets me up as defensive toward others. I want to have your attitude in mind. Help me to serve others with gladness and joy. Knowing that as I do sell, I am reflecting your mindset to the people around me. When I'm inconvenienced by a request, help me to rejoice. That I get to serve. When I struggle with selfishness, help me surrender to the refinement that comes when I say yes. To the work you're doing in me and threw me. In Jesus name. Amen.

"The sentenced by the people's own government, the said hedren. He was not particularly liked in Israel and Rome, his bosses were constantly changing the rules, so this man is as the saying goes between a rock and a hard place. Had the said hedren brought Jesus to pilot with this charge of blasphemy, pilot would not have been interested in the case. So the said hadron must bring charges against Jesus that are political in nature to force pilots hand to execute Jesus. So in the comic moments, Jesus will be accused of misleading the nation forbidding the payment of taxes and claiming to be king. At the very early hour Jesus is brought to pilots headquarters to be tried there. The Jewish leaders will not go into the headquarters themselves, doing so would make them unclean and not allow them to celebrate the Passover. So pilot comes out to them. What is your charge against this man? We wouldn't have handed him over to you if he weren't a criminal. This man has been leading our people astray by telling them not to pay their taxes to the Roman government. I've been claiming he is the messiah, a kid. And take him away and judge him by your own law. Only the Romans are permitted to execute someone. Pilot goes back to his headquarters and summons Jesus to be brought to him. Are you the king of the Jews? Are you saying this on your own? Or did others tell you this about me? Do I look like a Jew? Your people in your high priest turned you over to me. What did you do? My kingdom doesn't consist of what you see around you. If it did, my followers would fight so that I wouldn't be handed over to the Jews. But I am not that kind of a king, not the world's kind of king. So are you a king or not? You tell me. Because I am king, I was born and entered the world so that I could witness to the truth. Everyone who cares for truth, who has any feeling for truth, recognizes my voice. What is truth? Now, with this pilot goes out to address the crowd. I find nothing wrong with this man. The leading priests of the elders continue to make their accusations against Jesus, pilot turns to Jesus and asks, if he hears these charges, Jesus doesn't respond to pilot surprise. The crowd becomes more insistent. His teaching causes riots everywhere he goes, from Galilee to Jerusalem. Oh, pilot says, is he a Galilean? When they reply in the affirmative pilot since Jesus to Herod antipas. Galilee is under Herod's jurisdiction and Herod was in Rome at the time. We have met Herod antipas before. He was the one who was responsible for the execution of John the Baptist, which we covered in episode 20. Herod was one of Israel's Roman rulers at this time he's over, Galilee, and he was delighted to see Jesus. He knew of him and wanted to see before some miracle. Herod pepper's Jesus with questions, but Jesus never answers. All the while the leading priests and teachers of the law are shouting their accusations. Herod and his soldiers stoop to mocking Jesus. They put a royal robe on him and send him back to pilot. We learned that this opportunity to meet Jesus has submitted a friendly relationship between Herod and pilot from then on, prior to this they had been enemies. The scene shifts back to pilots headquarters. Pilot is sitting in his seat of judgment. He receives a message from his wife. Leave that innocent man alone. I suffered through a terrible dream about him last night. Pilot calls the people together, including the priests and religious leaders, and he gives his verdict. You brought this man to me, accusing him of leading a revolt. Have examined him thoroughly on this point in your presence. And find him innocent. Harrod came to the same conclusion and his sent him back to us. Nothing this man has done calls for the death penalty. So I will have him flogged, and then I will release him. Well, that doesn't go so well. During this Passover festival, Rome had a custom to release to the people a prisoner of their choosing and at this time they were holding a guy named barabbas, who was a murderer and a revolutionary, barabbas was the crowd's pick for release that year. The crowd asked for a prisoner and pilot says, well, would you like me to release this king of the Jews? But the leading priests stir up the crowd to demand the release of barabbas, not Jesus. The crowd roars. Kill it and release grab us to us. Again, pilot asks, who do you want me to release? The crowd shouts back. Pilot asked. What do you want me to do with Jesus, who is called the messiah. This crowd is out for blood. Crucifix him. Why? What crime is he committed? The crowd just shouts that much louder. Crucify him. Pilot argues with them. He wants to release Jesus, but they kept shouting him down. Crucify him. Crucify him. And again, pilot commands. Why? What is he done? I find no reason to execute him. I'll have him flogged and released to you. The mob becomes louder and more insistent, demanding crucifixion, and they ultimately prevail. With that noisy exchange, we'll end today's Jesus stories episode. Jesus has endured 6 trials, three by Jewish leaders, and three by Roman authorities. "Hi, I'm Joe redfern, global brand director and today we'll be hearing from recipients of the young audiences content fund applications for which is our due to close at the end of the month. So today we have Anne harrod and Andy, who will tell us of their experience of the fund and also Ollie Hyatt, who is, again, a keynote supporter. So tell us a little bit about how you have benefited from the fund and harad. Yeah, I had a garlic. I had a large children's department called book it, which is part of boom Camry. We're based in Cardiff. And we produced predominantly for S four C, the Russian language broadcaster, but also for the broadcaster citv and channel 5, et cetera. We were lucky enough in the last two years to be supported by the accent on three projects. Meet the experts is a preschool project for channel 5. It was a show what is a show because we're hoping to do a second series. 24 episodes show which gave children who are particularly. Who have a hobby on a specialism or are excited about something in particular to give them a platform to talk about that and share their experiences with us. It was part of the projects that child fi commissioned as part of the fact that the yak fund was established because I don't think they had a history of commissioning lots of live action for milkshake. So this was one of the projects that was supported by them or commissioned by them and supported by yak. It did very well for them, so and we're really pleased with the series. The other two projects they were drama series for as we'll see, so as you know, I'm sure as we'll see budgets are small. So drama is not something that we are able to do very regularly. And there are, you know, we also pitched these ideas based on the fact that we wanted to try and reach understood audiences, the ten to 13, but also the older teenage group of 16 to 18. So the secret was a four part drama series that just started that airing last week on S four C targeted at the 16 to 18 year olds. And I'm hoping a groundbreaking series for us was because they have hardly ever commissioned content specifically for this audience. And the second series, the lighthouse, we're going into production with that at the moment, and we'll be recording filming in July of this year. A science fiction series targeted at the ten to 13 year olds and is the story is kind of based around time travel through a portal in a lighthouse. And that's a 6 part half hour drama series. Well, none of these series basic basically would have been commissioned by either child 5 or as we'll see had yak not been there to match and what the broadcasters were willing to put in. That's fantastic. That's amazing. Andy, would you be able to kind of give a brief introduction yourself as well and just kind of run through what the fun is kind of enabled you guys to do. Absolutely. Yeah, so mine's Andy Richards on the series director for generation genome and I'm also the channel director for TV channel called came TV. Now, we've had an interesting journey with the young audience content fund. Because our program not only were not just existed without the funding, it simply wouldn't have existed because we found the fund and we designed the program based on its goals. Because in our sector, it's a really, really challenging area, local TV, not many people know about it in too much detail. I could go into the politics of local TV, but I'm not going to today because that's not what we're here for. But our main ethos that our channel is about engaging with some really challenging areas of the community, half our audience are made up of socioeconomic groups, CE two, D and E so it's really about getting into households where we can make a difference. So we basically usually it's all about local news and current affairs and hyperlocal stories and things like that. So we were looking for some funding and we came across the audience's content fund. And the university of Kent is a majority shareholder of the channel as well. So we've obviously got some experience in terms of outreach with schools and things like that. And then we started speaking to a PhD student who specializes in science communication for free to our television. And we came up with generation genome. So generation genome is a 6 part series which is basically a 12 minute documentary talking about all things to do with genetics and genomics and the second half is an audience led panel discussion about the topics that we've covered in the documentary so journalistically led and it's aimed at 11 to 16 year olds. And essentially we've gone all across all across the country..

Jack Dorsey: super influencer or troubled soul?
"Twitter. Chief Jack Dorsey has been hailed by Silicon Valley acolytes his personal fitness regime, but others question, whether he really merits, the role of a wellness guru Horatio Harrod discusses whether the Dulcie regime is worth emulating and what might be motivating his ascetic lifestyle with Joe Ellison. So obviously, for most of the people listening, Jack doesn't really need much of an introduction, 'cause he cofounded Twitter and the mobile payments company square. But why are you writing about him to in your recent column? I was writing about Jack Dorsey on the basis of the fact that he's been held as a super influenced by his Silicon Valley tribe of acolytes, and there was a big profile, I think, in the New York Times, but also kind of increasingly on other platforms, sort of hailing, his wellness regime in and also talking about the fact that he has become, you know, this character who has the same sort of power and influence as Gwyneth Paltrow, who we all know founded the wellness and pug, oop. So I thought he was an interesting person to look out because it just struck me that a lot of his advice seemed quite extreme, and I thought it was interesting that, if you're looking at it on the basis of gender. A man who comes up with a ten point plan includes extreme fall staying and depriving yourself of low of things should be seen as a kind of heroic manly endeavor of self discovery. But if it was a woman should be just discussed as kind of bats. I mean you know that. Well, don't you because when you interviewed Gwyneth Paltrow, flinch FT early this year. You know, you've got a few comments accusing her of being a sort of snake oil, saleswoman, very different sort of response to her wellness tips and stuff. She puts on group. I mean, I think generally anything where a woman is advocating healthy practice, or some sort of tree hit. But all, you know as someone who works in fashion, where I think, beauty and style, a very much of wrapped up in the same topic. There's a real hostility towards a lot of people advocating an extreme lifestyle pan and Gwyneth got a huge amount of very, very, very hostile Comanche under the. Which I did. And they really, really resented, her advocating anything radio, she they just thought she was crackers and also the other thing, which I thought was interesting as, as an actress, what does she know about this cheat doesn't have the right? Whereas Dulcie, who is to intensive his attack onto knows less than nothing also. But for some reason when he tells everybody he gets up at five am and jumps into freezing cold ball. It seems perfectly acceptable, and it was just us of weird guru status immense seem to have without any founding qualification whatsoever. Seems to be especially the dudes of Silicon Valley. They get away with quite a lot of what in if it were more of a female lifestyle context, would be seen as either very silly and frivolous poorly informed. That seems to be like people are in thrall to men with money and power. And I think that can just tip into a much broader kind of relation where it doesn't seem to matter what they do. I mean, if he suddenly sti- peg football, he probably be a brilliant, footballer. It's a kind of seduction. I mean there. Fan, boys. I mean, I know the west coast of America is oversee worth fatty diets sort of guy, an those long long decades on history of slightly with mystical, kind of quays. I religious of practice goes on. But I think that particularly now these tech gurus of merge, these tech leaders ever merged increasingly focused on how to make you a better person rather than there are about how to make a much let letting leads money because that seems to be what is actually very good. His voice loan, what new up and coming company. Would you invest in bitcoin? Awesome. You know, about the virtues of journaling, which is a fourteen year old, that's one of his eleven wellness tips or infrared, saunas. And why should an infrared bow, but your desk, minutes, all such hokum as well? I mean some of these things have got a modicum of medical evidence to support them in their favor. But lots of them are completely groundless. I mean, I have no idea whether there's any academic study that suggests that drinking salt juice. Use as he calls it, which is, I think lemon Himalayan salt water, which distributes in his Twitter offsets globally will do any tool or just make vomit. But the idea that someone could implement this in their offices, and everyone thinks this is a great idea, and not just say you're crackers, just seems I it just seems like typical of the gender gender-bias. We have, but people listen, calm being kind of a rabid feminist about these things, but I really feel as though people are inherently quite naive and the other thing about Jack Dorsey regimen, which I think, for me was particularly poignant is that in reading about it, the first thing I thought, when I was reading through the specifics of what he does his seven-minute high intensity workout his five mile walk toward that takes him an hour and a half. It's freezing cold buff, that all very self controlled, and quite punishing behavior, especially the fasting when she does from Friday until Sunday. So this, actually, it was very reminiscent of the sort of schedule. You might read over anorexic, who is in care, like a young girl. And if. She was exhibiting these behaviors you'd be genuinely quite concerned about her. It certainly thinks she was or he was putting too much pressure on themselves. And that was the other thing that just struck me as that anorexia or he's got an eating disorder. This is not healthy and you would Li certainly from the New York Times, piece, anecdotally, it seems that all of the things that he's recommending the infrared, Sooners the era sleep tracker which Prince Harry also were supposedly sales have skyrocketed since he mentioned them. So it seems like people really, really buy it. People just have a very different attitude intensive influence. I mean, going to culture can also shift, you know, she shifted courts eggs, which I think there was sexual healing eggs, or something she did get sued and had to pay a fine for claiming so but subsequently the sales of it still continue to rise. So she similarly has the power to create a bit of Rudra around a product with really, really sort of GPS values, but I think the something about that very powerful. Male leader who does the Ted talk. They take on this woman slight respite and like reputation. I mean, I think, historically, there have been people who held as kind of positions. I just think it's interesting that the most recent incarnation is this forty two year old tech entrepreneur and the other thing that we noticed today is that I think as of last year, he had a twenty three or girlfriend who was a Sports Illustrated model. And actually, when you think about it like that, he's just go having a kind of crushing midlife crisis was that was that was the conclusion, we did a lifespan the dramatic weight loss kind of obsession with physical appearance like the long kind of bid, the disguises bits of your face is so Mangone. This is this isn't about wellness is just about wanting to make an hot next year. Much, much younger more attractive girlfriend. But there was it was. So another point I think you made in your column, which was the, you know, he doesn't look and this is going to sound very sort of code psychology just doesn't look very happy. But it's interesting, do you think? There's a kind of elements of an incredibly wealthy successful porno kind of doing penance for either being successful, particularly being successful with Twitter because it's become oversee a platform that so controversial, and people took about him as basically make you fortune from helping to propagate hate speech, or allowing hate speech to ferment on his platform. I think if I was a hang at him as I called psychologist, which is what will like to do try and analyze what's going on? He doesn't look to me, like a person who is slightly enveloped in kind of shame buys person. You know, he looks almost unrecognizable he wears closed that swallow him. He has this huge curtain of hair across most of his face. And whereas it beanie hat and he does look sort of haunted. He sending doesn't let like a guy living as best life, and I like to think that some of that is possibly a physical manifestation of his unease around the thing that he's created. And I think, you know, social media Twitter, Facebook. Have had this extraordinary ROY of late where they're being they're being held up Jack Dorsey and his like a big held up for the world's ills and I think his strange retreat into this quasar religious slightly remote isolated status. It just doesn't reflect a very healthy mindset to me. I think he seems a bit like a man in retreat.
