Curry, Warriors hold off Kings 126-125 to even series 2-all
"Sacramento's Harrison Barnes missed the game winning three point shot attempt at the buzzer as the warriors hang on to beat the king's one 26 one 25. Stephen Curry led the warriors with 32 points. We have to maintain our composure on that front, turn over and offensive rebounds, gain 5. Like you said, it's a great opportunity. We know we have to win one in that building to get out of this series. Might as well be going for. Quite Thompson added 26 for Golden State to tie the series at two games apiece in the loss, dieron Fox with 38 points and Keegan Murray with 23. Game 5 is in Sacramento on Wednesday night. "But then LeBron had legendary four minutes, yeah. Mark Mark can Levine do a one plus one, wait till two, three. I'm assuming you mean 23, 20, 23, and Simon the Lakers. Sure, he could, but if I'm Zach lavine, and I've dealt with injuries and I just had knee surgery, and somebody's offering me four years at $200 million just about. I'm not turning that down so that I can take a risky one plus one deal and maybe go to the Lakers next summer. Yeah, I'm not doing that. If I'm if I'm Zach lavine, when you're talking about your risking a $100 million more on the health of your knee and your overall health, we've seen it happen where players thought they were going to get a bunch of money and then they get hurt and next thing you know, it's gone. Players haven't find out opportunity to cash in. You never know what's going to happen injury wise. So if I was Zach lavine, if I was Zach lavine's agent, I wouldn't advise doing that. As much as I'd love to say yes, bring them back to the Lakers, bring them back home, all that kind of stuff. That would be great. But I don't think that's exactly means best interest. No. I think Zach, first off, is about the money and the security stay in Chicago. It doesn't stay in Chicago, I personally think he'll wind up at San Antonio. I think the fits there. What do you think about Portland as a landing spot for Zach lavine? Nobody wants to go to Portland. But they've got, I think there's some skill set duplication with Anthony simons and all those guys. Yeah, that too. Yeah. But still. You know what? I do need to mention this one. This is super chat that came in at the very end of our last show and I missed it. We logged off right when this one came in. So I need to get it. Ritual king said my question is if you see any potential trade scenario for a three team trade, where we trade Russ and can get Harrison Barnes and Kelly and plumlee and Charlotte routes Hayward to Sacramento, I would rather have Harrison Barnes and Gordon Hayward. Are you do you agree with that? Is it Harrison expiring too? Or is it or is it two years for 20? Let me look real quick. I am of the mindset that I think I will first off. Yeah, I would rather have Harrison Barnes. Yes, he'll be expiring next season. So I would definitely rather have him. I'd rather have Harris and Barnes. He's first off more like he's healthier. So he'll high as more longevity. I don't really have to worry about him being injured or on the injury report for half the season. I think he does have some of the skill set. He's a better defender to than Gordon Hayward. He's an easier fit, although I do think Gordon Hayward would be a good fit. Here's some Barnes as close to a lock at that position as a bid next to LeBron and AD as I think you can get. Yeah, I would do that. I love Harrison Barnes on the Lakers..

"But that seems like a more reasonable target than trying to get Jeremy grant or any of those other guys. I agreed. I was actually looking at that trade yesterday. So who knows? Could end up happening, but do keep in mind the blazers are loath to do anything with the Los Angeles Lakers. So that could end up being a factor. We'll see. Yeah. All right, Sacramento. We've talked a lot about the king. So we don't have to spend a ton of time on this, but just the kings are the kings, right? They maybe they should be full scale sellers and selling off a whole bunch of stuff. And keep in tyrese Albert and David Mitchell and building around those guys. But it sounds like they don't want to do that. It sounds like maybe Harrison Barnes, maybe buddy healed, Marvin Bagley, I think we'll get moved at some point it's shocking that it hasn't happened yet. Let's see, but I think they're going to look different after the trade deadline, but I don't know that it's going to be major massive full scale rebuild or anything like that, because I just don't think they want to go that path again. Their sellers, but it feels like they think they should be buyers. You know? I think that's the best way to sum up what Sacramento has got going on right now. I don't think they're good enough as is. I think they've got some pieces with some value. And if they find the right moves, then maybe they can catch those in and maybe instead of getting trade assets they can find or future picks or whatever, they can they can get some pieces that can help them kind of reshuffle things right now, but otherwise I don't think this is a team that I was constructed has what it takes and they need to get what they can for some of these guys because I don't think their value is going to go up next year. Completely agree. Do you know what they are? They're my grandmother. My grandmother used to do yard sales or garage sales. I know people call them different things. Different places in the country. She would do those to sell a whole bunch of stuff to then go to other people's yard sales and garage sales to buy a whole bunch of crap to then sell it hers next year. So that's what the Sacramento. That's a great analogy. That's a great one. Okay. All right. This one will be super duper quick. The spurs already made it in season move, which was shocking enough that that even happened as they traded Britain Forbes away. The only other one will be that young. If they're going to do anything, it'll be that young. I hope they do, because get something small back for him, at least you ought to be able to pull that off..

"Hard to peg because you look at it and you say, I should probably be looking to see what they could do for sanski, maybe Josh hart is contract was always designed to be very, very tradable. But then you hear like, hey, they're interested in CJ McCollum. They're interested in other players and him. We'll see. I mean, they're not completely out of it. They are a game and a half behind Portland, so if Portland, maybe takes a sidestep, we're going to get to them in just a second, but we just talked about. They're not going to tear it down. So Portland's probably going to hang right around ten for the rest of the way. So maybe New Orleans runs them down and catches them. And maybe that's worth investing in and hey, we got this guy. My guess is if they do anything, it's got to be someone like McCollum, who would be there for the rest of this year for help, but then would also be there for the next couple of years because then you can say, and maybe convince yourself we made a little bit of a run and we got to look at what it looks like. Now we get to add Zion to this next. Absolutely. That's it exactly. They have to be careful that whatever move they make, it's not just a one year band aid move. Okay, let's make a move if we can find a guy that we think can be here for the next three, four seasons or whatever. Then that's the type of move that they should be looking at. I don't know if you push all in to try to win right now because realistically, if you jump up to the ten seed, what good does that really do you in the long run? Does that really help you out that much? Not if you're sacrificing assets in order to get there. But if you can get something that you think can help you not just this season, but in future seasons as well, then you go ahead and you consider it..

"They're kind of like when you had the toy catalog at Christmas and you were like, man, I want all this stuff and you circled all of it, but you knew Santa had to come through with a miracle to get it. Well, I mean, that's kind of where leakers are at, right? They've offered the package. The THT non pick package to basically everybody. And not that no one has jumped at it yet. I do think if they get a little more serious with that pick and maybe take protections off it and say, we'll just send that pick completely on encumbered or if they could do something with New Orleans where, hey, we're gonna send you a little something, a free free up and you take the 2025 or 2024 pick and then that freeze them up to trade 2026 is then they could trade two. Let's see, maybe that gets something there, but yeah, and then I wrote, just forget a Russell Westbrook trade. That's not happening. If that happens, it's going to happen this summer, but we kind of know where things stand. Absolutely. I've talked about it a ton of obviously over on Lakers nation. Their trade package doesn't have a ton of value around the NBA THT has not been good. This season Kendrick known as not played at all, so hard to give a lot of value for that. Really, we're talking about the pick. And then you've got matching salaries in there to try to work with. It'll be an uphill battle. We know the Lakers would like to make a move, but I've been predicting all along most likely what we see out of the Lakers is something to free up a roster spot where they pay with cash with a second round pick, get somebody to take on a Deandre Jordan, Kent bazemore, somebody like that. OKC, their ears are burning right now. Somebody would get paid to do something like that. That's a very minor move, but that's the most likely thing we see the Lakers do at the trade deadline, but it won't be for a lack of trying. Yeah, absolutely. All right, let's move on Memphis Grizzlies. Interesting spot for the grizzlies. They're way better than I think anybody thought, except for maybe folks in Memphis. Also, as an aside, I love that they are talking trash to everybody. I don't know. If you don't like it, stop them. You know, maybe beat them, then yell that they won't talk as much. I think it's great. The MBA is the best one. There's guys who are talking junk and embracing that role. And those kind of things. And I thought that was phenomenal in John marantz and he bumped us off national TV. Well, what happened to the team you put on instead of us? They stopped the next. But tread lime wise, I don't know that we see a whole heck of a lot. I think they're gonna be cautious. They've been fairly cautious. Yeah, absolutely should. They've been cautious in this build up, the whole way. I think they're going to continue to kind of take their time here, see what they got. They're really looking forward to to have a real playoff run. And that'll help us know what do we need going forward around John morant around Jared Jackson junior?.

"Not a move that your hope there is get him back, get him, you know, at least showing something the rest of the way and then maybe you do something in this off season with him as the centerpiece of a trade. But the other thing is they just don't have a ton of needs and they don't have any easy kind of cuts that they want to move on their roster of get rid of this guy or get rid of that guy. So I figured what you see is what you gave up the warriors that they're going to set this thing out. Maybe buy out season, but I don't even think that happens for them just because I think they like their guys one through 15 right now. We're making the west sound so boring like the first three teams were like they're not doing it now. But I agree. We're on the warriors 100%. Yeah. The Houston Rockets. Now, these guys are sellers, but what are you selling? John Walsh? Sure. Hey Lakers. They're on the first round pick with the Russell Westbrook, John wall is yours. My guess is I've said this is either takes to the off season or we'll see if they can do a Blake Griffin type situation where trade deadline passes and wall is like, yo, well, I'll get back some money because I want to play. We'll see. But then DJ Augustine definitely they would move him if they need to. We've talked it over and over and over again who needs a point guard. There's a full team like guys like Dennis Schroeder, maybe Spencer didn't witty those are probably better options for teams that are point guards. Daniel tice, very available. Let's see what happens with Christian wood. I think that after we kind of bold over by an offer to move wood, they actually talked in the last couple games about they want to get more minutes with him in outburn Schengen together to see what that looks like with those two. So that kind of leaves Eric Gordon. So maybe, but they're asking for a first round pick and we kind of laughed about it on a recent show of like that seems like it's crazy, but the way Gordon has played, that's really not all that insane of an ask, especially if it's coming from a team whose pick's going to be in the 20s. Absolutely makes all the sense of the world for them to try to move Gordon right now if they can. Again, this is probably the highest his value is going to be..

"We'll see where this goes where we're weak out from the deadline and we're talking a little bit before it's been very quiet, but sometimes that means things are getting done versus things are getting just batted around and it'll leaked out there. So speaking of things getting it done Portland, let's see. We've kind of been all over the gamut with these guys. Are they going to tear it down? Or are they going to start over? All this in Portland, it's here in GM, Joe cronin, replaced Neil osha after his fired midseason. He basically said is, hey, we have to take a big picture approach to things. But knowing the small picture still matters, that he is basically he was asked, they think it is time for an overhaul or reset. And he said, we are looking at all different scenarios. Reset is a big word where two competitive to want to do that. So it depends on what you mean by reset. Then was asked, does what if reset means long term rebuild? No, I don't think we have the appetite to tear it all the way down. We have too many good players in too many ways to get better without taking too big of a step back. So that says to me they are not doing full scale fire sale. Maybe still use of nurkic or Robert Covington or somebody like that gets moved, but definitely I don't think we're going to see Damian Lillard maybe not even see Jim McCollum and let's say we're talking somebody who can play right away for Portland. Yeah, that was my initial thought too was as much as people want to say, oh, but they really need to rebuild. But think about what that means. If you say the word rebuild, that means goodbye Damian Lillard. I've totally understand why they would not be ready to go over that hurdle just yet. So I understand it from that perspective saying we're not going to necessarily rebuild. I don't know if I agree that they've got the pieces to really go out there and change things on the fly and jump back up to the top of the Western Conference or anything. But going that route, if you say we're going to do a long-term rebuild, that's the nuclear option. That means Damian Lillard is going. That means everybody is going. And I can understand the hesitation from the Portland side to go that far with this. Yep, absolutely. All right, I want to get into the long awaited Western Conference. Buyers and sellers. I think we're through the news. We told you it's a light news today. So let's get into it. We'll go on alphabetical order. So I'll hit them because I know you're going to be looking at the standings. "Hello everybody, welcome back to the NBA front office show once again getting closer to that NBA trade deadline. We've got a lot of news to get through today and then we're also going to talk buyers and sellers while I keep my fingers crossed and hope that my power stays on for the entire time. I've been dealing with power to just today. So hopefully we can get through this without any craziness happening. Yeah, no doubt, just to make 90% of the country unhappy, it is a beautiful 80° here in Orlando Florida today. And here I've got frozen tree branches falling on power lines around me and you're hanging out in shorts and sandals, whatever, whatever. Can't see the bottom half, but I've got shorts and so for sure. They called it. All right, let's get into the news here. Start off. Lance Stevenson, you know, we've talked about this a bit that there were going to be some guys who made the most of their opportunities due to hardship situations where they get signed on and land Stevenson was one of those guys with the pacers. Sounds like he's going to stick with them. The remainder of the season. Yeah, four, ten day contracts, two hardship and two standard, and then I believe he did one or two with the Atlanta Hawks, but now he's back on a stick with the pacers. They are extremely shorthanded still there. They're still a whole bunch of different guys last night was just a mess against the Orlando Magic. Isaiah Jackson was their only healthy guy above 6 foot 6. And he got hurt 22 seconds into the game contesting a jump shot and they played the rest of the game like I was gonna say like a mid major college team, but they mid major college teams are bigger deal and then they lost two dad at the end of the game to the magic. So yeah, but Lance Stephenson gonna stick around cool story right then made it back after this long out of the league went the G league route did all that stuff. So yeah, as you said, a couple guys made it. Yep, welcome back. Lance, the three guitar returns. The Cavs get a disabled player exception for Colin Sexton. Again, we know that he was going to be out for the season..

"Of absolutely free. So you went somewhere else. All right, let's go to the pelicans. They've been linked to Eric Gordon. It's interesting. Here's what gets me. Okay, they've been linked to Eric Gordon. They've been linked to CJ McCollum. Now there's links to Harrison Barnes as well. It seems like the pelicans are positioning themselves to be a buyer. At the trade deadline, and it makes sense if they're looking for long-term pieces, but I don't know if I'm the pelicans if I want to do my shopping right now. And then risk potentially changing my lottery position because I don't think there's suddenly going to become a playoff team this year or anything like that. Who knows what situation is going to be? Do we seize on this year or not? What's going to happen there? If I'm the pelicans, if there's an opportunity here that you can't pass up, maybe you swoop in on it in on it, but otherwise I think I'd prefer to do my shopping in the off season and not risk worsening my lottery odds. Yeah, I agree with your guy Covington sense to me because of the one year nature of his contract unless you're really certain you can get them at a pretty good deal coming back. But if you could get CJ McCollum and you really believe like, I think this is the guy to help lift us and put us where we want to be. Well then you also weak and poor one who said you could there were only two games behind the blazers right now. So you chase them down, you get into the play in and then kind of take your chances from there. But yeah, if you're gonna do anything, it's got to be Gordon because that's a couple more years. Be honest while Barnes has another year left. That's why those ones make sense to me. But there's a lot of what's going around New Orleans right now. They're looking to do a lot of different stuff. So let's see what that ultimately comes out to. But I did, they're trying for sure to do something get involved here as they I guess want to be in the play and you just it's going to be stuff that you'd be talking to themselves into, we make up this gap with Portland. We get the ten spot and Zion comes back. And then we're off and running and then we're making some noise in the playoffs. Might that be the ultimate goal for the pelicans right now? I mean maybe that's just too awful lot on Zion. Expecting, I mean, it's February 2nd. He has a play now and we're getting close to well, I guess he played at the end of last year where we're getting close to a year of him being out. And that starts to really to me he says, look, we get anything out of him the rest of the way. Great. Yeah, that's a bonus, but yeah, I mean, I think it's more about we look like next year. We talk about it. Sometimes they trade deadlines really getting a jump on free agency and the off season..

"So there's some truth in there to that for sure. Sure, it's like getting players out of the Adam Gase era jets, right? You get away from that suddenly they're great. Okay, I'm the same darnold, maybe not. But just about everybody else but you get them away from that location and maybe you do see a little bit of an improvement there. So I do think there's going to be a market for them, but like you said, the question is, the contract, then you have to be convinced that he's not the guy that we're seeing right now that he's actually at a different level. I do think it's interesting Harrison Barnes. I would feel like there's so many places he could fit. He's one of those guys where, I mean, just points about any team at the NBA, and you can go, oh, I could see how he could fit there. He's not a difficult fit in so many different places. I have to imagine he's going to have a fairly robust market. Yeah, and he's at 20 million this year and then that number drops down into around 18 million for next year. So those are yeah, that's not a number that's so big that it gets really hard to move. But when the contract gets hard to move is when you're north of 25 million in your nod a true max player because you're starting to close in on max territory with that number. But yeah, I mean, I said that yesterday, Harrison Barnes talking with a someone in a foreign office that said, if you need him to be your third guy will be your third guy, you need to be a 6 or 7th guy. He'll be your 6 or 7th guy. And everybody believes that in this guy. Around the league because he's just these very plug and plays productive, no matter where he is, no matter what his role is, he can scale up or down appropriately. So yeah, if they want to finally pull that trigger and say, we got to go, we got to do something with Harrison Barnes. Then this is the time, right? Because there's a lot of teams. Again, the league is pretty wide open. So there's a lot of teams, I think that are looking at this and saying, hey, yo, all right, let's go. Let's make the move. Let's push all in and try to win a championship. Now, if Sacramento, who there's been plenty of buzz about them and Ben Simmons, if it comes down to 76 or say, if you want this deal, you have to take Tobias Harris..

"Would need something, they wouldn't do it unless they're gonna get back something that really addresses one of their needs. I don't think that Kobe white does. I mean, a pic would help. But what do you think of? Yeah, I was thinking it from that perspective. Why would Memphis do that? Right. That's an interesting question. Yeah. But okay, but Joe, do you think that what's the biggest weakness for the polls right now they need to shore up defensive center or defensive end? Definitely our size. And I think most of us like to play that 5 outwardly, and if we get a four that doesn't mind being in the post plants with defense and kind of having that presence, it might assure him up to get a couple more free shots and that worked so hard to stretch the offense. We need yeah. They definitely need a little bit more depth depth in the big man. How could they get Jeremy grant? That'd be a good question. Well, they were talking about him or Harrison Barnes, and then they would package, you know, gosh, what was that package then for the bulls? Jones, who would you like better for them? Out of those two guys. Honestly, I don't have a problem with either. I just don't think they add up to what we need all the way. It would just be quick fixes, which again, I know Kobe might have some value and I love the story too, but I think we got some steam and we need to go full steam ahead before we blow this up and just know what we're doing this year. I hear you. Yeah, we talk about this last time, I think, right. You thought that Jeremy grant would be the better fit, right? Yeah, I think Jeremy grant would be a great fit there. I mean, he brings that defensive versatility that you want for that team. And that team, you know, I mean, they're great on offense. They have some great defensive players, but they're not really a great defensive team right now. Their defense doesn't match up to their offense. And they need some depth as well, but they're scary. Like no team wants to play them. I'll tell you that Jones in the playoffs, no team wants to play them. Right. But that said, the assets are not like, I don't know how many assets they might have, the package they could get something really great back. Especially with the Memphis because they're not going to do anything to mess up chemistry unless it's something that really makes sense for them. Yeah. That's just a pipe dream of mine. But the reason I don't think Jeremy grant's coming is we have a lot of guys around that height that range, and we might need someone a little bit more solidified out of 6 ten and even if Clark's not, he plays big. Like we need someone that can play big above the room. It's coming back. It was a couple months last time I checked it was supposed to be out for season, but I heard there's some new updates or something, but I haven't checked recently. I feel like he'll be out for a while. Yeah, I can check that while we're talking. But I don't know how much you'd expect from him at this point. We're missing all the time and having to he was on its way toward building to something, but we hadn't seen it yet. So if the best didn't believe in him, it could make sense for them, right? Oh, yeah. There could be some value, by the way, on that end, as far as from trade..

The Garden Report | Boston Celtics Post Game Show from TD Garden
Celtics Trade Rumors: Nikola Vucevic
"Do have interesting trade rumors. We didn't want to wait till after to get to them and they involve a bunch of big names that we've been kicking around on the thread on the on the live streams all of this time some really big fish out there. The Celtics are supposedly in on so we'll go Name by name. But again, this is Shams very plugged in the Athletic Club throwing out vucevic throwing out Jeremy Grant throwing out Harrison Barnes. These are all enticing names and honestly those three plus there and Gordon are probably the big fish house on the market Garden Of course dealing with the sprained ankle. So teams are wait and see there but those are the big names out there. We've been hearing them all the time. I'm going to start with Bobby's boy boo Savages. Part of that report was that it's going to be a massive Hall that we've been debating on all day Bobby what that actually entails but first this you turned on this guy meaning turned back towards this guy as Gore guy tell us why tell us what you think what you'd be willing to give up here for the Celtics to get it done. So I was never the biggest fan him and the sticks were previously invested in him during that Kemba Walker offseason. They were hot on him cuz they had the max cap space after Kyrie and Mortadella could have filled him down the middle. So there's a connection there. Obviously Kemba came along and grab that bone. Now, you have the chance to have four All-Stars on the team of chemicals affect them. They hated it. Yeah, and I still don't love it now, but I think context is everything you don't have cap space forever now wage only so many ways you can improve in the future. So why not grab the best player available? And I think out of all the options were going to talk about today. This guy's an All-Star. He pushes 30 points a game on many birth. It's eye dominant. Rebounder. Probably one of the best rebounders in basketball this year defense. We'll see I think it's all situational but he's kind of a disaster down there in Orlando defensive or a that could change in Boston and the three-point shot by zone is the best 3-point shooter above the break and basketball this year. So that's perfect in Boston pick-and-pop off and he'd get open shots above the are called a there he can post up he's seven feet. I know people will love that. He's a real big so he just give them a bunch of different options and outlets for offense and size that they don't have right now and this is what I love about and to John if they can find a way to clear types in a potential deal here clear Thompson in a game here and you're left with Rob and bukovic. See the dream. That's the dream. So look at it this way though. If you're the other team coming back, your don't want to take on Thompson or Thai so, you know, Rob is automatic berth. Certainly, if you're going to go big, you know to go get somebody else's big. I don't see any world in which you make a trade really any trade at this point in Rob Williams is still a Celtic. So anybody at home saying do do it do it I think has to get used to kind of giving up on their Binky which is Rob Williams, which is going to be hard for a lot of Celtics fans to be able to live with that.

So the kids did what teams have done over the years trying to trade a guy. We're gonna sit you Until we move you Well. Draymond Green had issue with that at an issue with it to the point where he spent dream on his media availability. Getting things off for his chest hit it. I would like to talk about something that's really bothering me. It's the treatment of players in this league tow watch Andre Drummond before the game, sit on the sideline, then go to the back and then come out in street clothes because the team is going to trade him. Yes, because when James Harden export trade and essentially dog did, I don't think there was no surprise or no, you know, there's no one's gonna fight back there. James was dogging his last days in Houston, but he was cast rated For one to go to a different team, and everybody destroyed that man. And yet a team can come out and say, Oh, we want to trade a guy and then that guy is to go sit and if he doesn't stay professional, then he's a cancer and he's not good and someone's locker room and he's the issue. We've seen situations of Harrison Barnes getting pulled off the bench. You know DeMarcus cousins finding out that he's traded in an interview after the All Star Game. We continue to let this happen. But I got fine for stating my opinion on what I thought should happen. What? Another player, But teams can come out and continue to say. Oh, we're trading guys, We're not playing you and yet where to stay professional. At some point as players. We need to be treated with the same respect and how the same rights that the team could have, because as a player, you're the worst person in the world when you want a different situation, but but a team can say they're trading you and that managed to stay in shape. He is to stay professional and if not His career's on the line. At some point, this league has to protect the players from embarrassment like that. You know, we talk all of this stuff about you can't do this. You can't say that publicly. If you say that public you're fine. Anthony Davis got fine. I think $100,000 or something like that for demanding a trade publicly. But you can say Andre Drummond's getting traded publicly, and we're looking to trade him publicly, and he's to stay professional. And just deal with it. But then when Carly Urban sell my mental health is off, everybody go crazy about that, too. Do you not think that affect someone mentally? As much as we put into this game, to be great to come out here and being shaped to produce with fans every single night and most importantly, to help your team win. Do you think that doesn't affect someone mentally? But as players we're told so I know you can't say that you can't say this, but teams care It goes along the same lines of when everyone wants to say a man. That young guy can't figure it out. But no one wants to say the organization can't figure it out. At some point, the players must be respected. In these situations and is ridiculous, and I'm sick of seeing it. There's a lot to. There's a lot of moving parts there player, mental health and and player empowerment, a almost stick to the holding players out when you're trying to trade him. I never really thought deeply about that, quite frankly, sitting players while the team is trying to trade A player. I always thought of it as It was a way to keep a somewhat valuable trade asset healthy. I never thought of something a guy out while you're trying to trade him. I never thought of it as some punitive measure. And dreamers. Get along. Yeah, and dreamers get a lot of, you know, getting universal praise seemingly from from what he said. Every now and again. There was a lot there and I think he made a lot of good points. But me personally, I don't equate a team holding a player out. That they're trying to trade. I don't equate that with the practice of players refusing to play because they're trying to force a trade. And when a player is he just had about James Harden. When a player dogs it No, that's just not cool. When you're trying to create a situation is a player that's so untenable that a team has to trade you basically at the point of a gun. I can't But I can't equate those two situations holding a player after trying to trade and then Ah players saying, Well, you know what? I'm not gonna play even I'm under contract because I want you guys to trade me. I'd Can't put those two things together and say they go down the same track. There's a lot going on here, but I would I will say this. I love Draymond Green, and I love the fact that he's outspoken and talks about things that he cares about. And I do think he makes a couple good points here, but I think it has to be pointed out. Whoa! Judge, you know, reported Monday that the Cavs say the Cavs side of it, They say they're transitioning to Jared Allen, and they say it's unfair to Drummond to limit his minutes as they transition to a new center. But Rod you hit it the number one reason from the club's perspective, you're going to sit out of players teams on both sides of that trade. Whatever you know, obviously, the team that he's got the calves and whatever team transform. They just want to guarantee that the players gonna be healthy so I don't think it's anything other than that. Um, you know, Green's talking about James Harden, and he was cast rated for wanting to go to a different team. You know, First of all, I don't know about that word. But this is everybody destroys the man who's destroying him. TV people radio people, We get by on drama and dialogue and That's just the noise surrounding everybody destroying somebody in on TV and radio on I get it. I get it. There's he's making the point that there's two standards here. But really, where the players so the players partners with with the teams are they employees of the teams? Um, and then? Then he said, Well, then, when, when Harden, you know, shows up and let's be honest, Hard was totally unprofessional. I mean, He makes it seem like there's a time when it's okay to be unprofessional at work. If there's never a good time to be unprofessional at work, and then he went on to reference himself getting fined. Raymond was fined $50,000 when he was working as a as an analyst for Turner during the restart because he basically had a tampering thing cause he expressed feelings that Devin Booker should leave the organization and he was advising him basically over television..

You got the whole package here for your package, press past twenty 20% off your first purchase free shipping at mac.com. Make sure you get in on that. We do have the Clippers next. That's kind of cool. Hey that fits manscape Clippers. Yeah, that's always fun. You know these games, you know, these guys love getting up for the super star sort of games and you know, Jalen and Jason want want that George Kauai, you know, they know that conversation gets had all the time. They as good as those guys. Who would you rather have? That's what it always becomes here. So this is one of those games where you know, everyone's going to be up. So, you know, I'm worried. I'm worried about that one. I mean Clippers are playing great. But this is one of those games where feels like Celtics play up to the level of the competition is feels to me like a moral Victory, you know could be a narrow loss. But I think they're going to play. Well, I think Tatum and brown can do what they need to do to match those two wings and they're going to have their hands full defensively with those two as well. But I'm also worried about a Lou Williams a Patrick Fairfax Lee defending chemic could be a big problem for camba Serge Ibaka and evocative. There's another name subash are phenomenal sisters for that team. I mean that group they've given the Lakers that run already as well and they look like a full-blown Championship Contender if they can just get over their own hump against the Lakers and yeah, I mean, I just suck. Now it's a three-team race between the Nets and the to La teams. That's my point that teams on another level. I could see the self-esteem to be in that kind of upper Stratosphere, you know, just a just a just a little level above and I think Milwaukee can get there to when they when they get their ship together, but that's you know, you view that as kind of their you wonder whether the Celtics can get there and I think they can wage.

"I think that that I think there's enough people all saying that to the point that it felt like it was you know, it's it was pretty believable. And so I that brings me back to Hero if they put up all their pics at that time including the three ones that they used in this month. It's in draft to move up to get him could that if work, you know, six or seven first-round picks? Maybe maybe so Halliburton feels like that guy this year, so we'll see and and I don't disagree Julian. I do think we overrated the hell out of him. I still think a lot better than Javonte green and semi ojeleye. So this this question too though and burn a dhoni is push this often because guys freaked out about the Desmond Baines and the other guys that may have gotten like Memphis we talk about Brandon Clark often, they've gotten minutes and run and shots in Memphis that they wouldn't have gotten here. But you're looking at there's four or five guys at the tail end of that draft that are actually playing very very and these are guys taken after obviously after Nesmith but also before, you know, like wage have saddiq Bey you have precious for the heat you have Maxi you have quickly you have quickly. It's going to be one that teams are shaking their head at for a while. Oh my God. There's so many Kentucky guys have slid through at this point break lose a revelation. You have a few of those guys. They're they're Johnson just killed the Celtics a week ago. He went late in the first round two years ago. And those guys were all their life in the in that in the late teens early twenties, you know, the Celtics passed on Johnson twice. Another Wing another solid defensive scoring Wing. Yeah, Kentucky like teams. Just gotta take the Kentucky guys. Forget what they did in that one year when you mention Ben went last right the Celtics pick Bane and you say instead of stairs, right? Yeah, right pull. Yeah, they used in the done poorly a wage. They didn't have room for him forever. But never again you just you're it's just not something you're able to say Vincent. I'll use Vincent call him Billy Vinny sex pants one more thing tonight. We've talked about players getting back into the fold..

"So it brings me back to our Tepee conversation and our Personnel change discussion and what goes back to bed with a missing Hayward spot on this team. They have to make a trade this year. I don't know if it's going to be Barnes or something more marginal and the edges which wouldn't be too exciting and probably wouldn't be all that impactful. If it's just a red X style move, but they need to make a move of some sort this year. We still talking about back to Isaiah Thomas that they haven't made a midseason deal and it made sense in recent years because they wage. Had this thing where if they were able to get fully healthy last year, which they were never able to they said we can Bank on that if Hayward Brown Tatum and Camber all together this team to final team and maybe if there's a greater championship team and the problem with banking on being healthy, which I think is something you could probably do to a lesser degree with this team to say if we're healthy we can get there is that your boss not going to be healthy in the playoffs. So how can you set yourself up to have some depth to sustain a loss in the playoffs? If Kim was not there if smarts hurt again or you know, God forbid router Tatum. I know they'd probably be dead at that point, but make a deal this year. It's still too early. I know the market hasn't gotten that far along yet and find you know, we've all talked about what the playoff structure of this year is going to do to the trade market, but they need to make a deal of some sort to shake this up to get the team closer to where they want to be take some pressure off Tatum a bath. Around and maybe add a guard to the mix. I don't know what it's going to be. Ultimately. I'd like a winged more guard would be my second race. A lot of people have thrown around Biggs like Bagley and drumming in those kind of guys. That's last on my list of what they need right now. Like I said, I'll roll with the three bigs they have now if you're better elsewhere, if you're better elsewhere, you'll be that's going to matter. So if we're ranking what's good about this team right now you go one brown to Tatum, you know, they're probably one in one a and right behind them the bags the bags have been fine, whole I think the big have been pretty good for this team and look smart as smart, you know when he's here, he's fine and cambis just kind of working him in so we'll see again. Kemba's incomplete right now. Why is everyone so mad at Brad Stevens? That's how a who he going to blame. But I guess I'm losing my mind here. I am not you know me Bobby. I am not a Stevens apologist at all at all. Okay, I think absolutely I think off the Celtics fan mentality that he's a Beyond reproach and you know inbred We Trust I think it's a little bit overblown..

"Right place. So again, I like it now. Let's see how bad the Kings can get to where do they start selling do they start saying? All right, we're better off going to the bottom than we are fighting for that playoff position. It's going to be a long thin line align that play offline this year. I mean think when you start to think John that 20 out of the thirty teams are going to make the playoffs this year. The sellers are going to be so few and far between the show. Like I said is everything is a matter of fit. Like what can one do you gotta take into account big trades have already been made in the league? A lot of movement before the season or early in the season. So like a lot of the moves have been made. So at this point you're going to cross some teams off the list. We're going to be able to do anything more than some bargain-basement moves bring it in guys five and ten million some buyouts things like that. I don't know how many Blockbuster deals are out there. I don't know. No, and this one's probably not a blockbuster. I'm trying to think if if we were going to put a package together for this. I think I'd go in a similar Direction where I'd be willing to give up more pics to make this happen. But I'd also want to see the Kings take some money back. Now. What would that be? Would it be an ocean away? Would it be Tristan maybe depending on how that continues to go down? We'll see but the roster would end up being packed in a way where I'd like to subtract a little bit of salary from the Celtics and another roster guy and they'd have to anyway, they don't have a roster spot right now. Take Barnes on so most of what they be given up here would be picked and I think they're in a good position to do that when you start to think of JJ Redick and some of the other names that have been thrown around them e p e you'd rather go all in one dive on a quality rotation player like Barnes over. You know multiple Fringe bench guys. Yeah, and that's the thing is where it's going to be awhile. It's amazing after every loss this dominates our chat. It's what do you get to fix it? Cuz I think people see this and that's the problem is that's why these games are so hard to analyze cuz what are you going to take out of this one? It was an so so game from Brown and take them. They played fine. They didn't take it, you know on their shoulders and and dominate here as as maybe they could have you had no guards playing in this game was just a weird game. So every time you lose your going to look around at these if we talked about it last game look around at these crap players coming off the bench and say we need something better, you know, and so that's why the conversation is always going to go here, but it's just not coming. You know, it's not coming right away. Everyone's going to have to be a little patient. Yeah, all that concerns preseason came to fruition Kemba. I think looks better than you know, some of us thought he was going to look down. That's that's a little bit of a passive pleasant surprise coming out of a preseason concerns. We might have even thought he wouldn't be playing at this point. So I think that's the positive side of things but they look awkward in terms of the amount of bags that they have on the 4th still to this day. They're worse defense than they should be and part of that stem being an offensive rebounding team more than a transition defense team..

That he's kind of playing the role of Harrison Barnes and the first championship run remember Harrison Barnes was the crucial member of that was and that wiggins is going to play that role. And I said this'll bit earlier, but he was kept abreast of the situation before the game that Charlotte and Sacramento, we're looking at trade for him. He made a decision to play the game. So even though LeBron James gonna went crazy and was upset that he found out during the game that wasn't necessarily the case he found out the team's going to, but they had told him a couple of teams were involved. So again out berkshires another guy that went to Sacramento, and by the way, Zach Reynolds being waived, and you pointed this out yesterday.
