"harrah" Discussed on Gambling Podcast: You Can Bet on That
"He had a. Don't come bet on the five with odds. And they turned his bets off while he was away at the restaurant. Because that's the policy at harrah's if you walk away they'll turn your bets off and for most players. That's pretty easy. It's like oh they've got a bunch of placements okay. It's off or something like that but for don't player we were telling this story. I'm thinking it doesn't sound right what what bothered me. Yeah don't play or it should work and you know. I wish it had occurred to me at the time but the thing is about a don't come or a don't bet i'm not talking about odds i'm just talking about the base. Bet you can't turn those off right. Sure you can take them down completely. Take them down. But you can't say oh my. Don't come bets off this role. Yeah that's not. How don't come bets. Work right right so i have a real problem with that. I think it would have been bad enough if they had just taken his. Don't come back down right. But that's certainly would have made more sense then turning it. You can't turn just like you can't turn off a combat or a pass line. Bet you can't turn them on not working this role. It's what can you imagine the mass that would make well for one thing it didn't. There was no decision either way. So i didn't get to see what happened. And the other thing he he when he came back to turn it back on. Yeah they didn't even move it. They discussed among themselves. They said everything's off then when he came back they told him. We turned your best soft while you were gone. So if you're gonna walk away again they're going to be off just remember that he had no clue he's like oh i didn't know that and so you know. Then he never left again. The badger state up there again became back and it was on again okay and it was several roles before it had a decision..

Curtis bought it in two thousand fourteen surprise the whole family by bringing them out front the day after christmas and it will so lovely. Didn't have no food from and we didn't have no chairs and i just wanted to show him around because it was like this. Is your christmas present. I see yes. It is whitfield has a big smile as she leans against her more up island in her open concept kitchen the kind of smile that would fit perfectly on a brochure for homeownership. In one of her three bedrooms she keeps two bibles opened specific psalms to bless her house. And i'm proud of what i've accomplished. Because i stayed in public housing for thirty years for the bieber to get a key to go into some they belong to you is like ooh but this year was scared. Me to lose. This richfield was able to afford the house because of the tip she earned as a waitress at harris casino about one hundred dollars each day two hundred on weekends because his bottomless memorial. Saying all you could see so. The money was good. People were tipping well when his bottomless moses dora. Keep layers flowing. Okay and once you make somebody happy to tips. I happy paying bills was almost like a matching game. One hundred dollars. Light bill ride on thursday. Cover it with friday's tips mortgage combined a couple mimosa. Weekends never was behind on a bill but the game changed march twenty twenty cove nineteen shut down the casino and it's buffet. Like a lot of workers whitfield was laid off now. I'm panicking because now it's like what bill you pay this week. And what will you just have to calling it a stench in on now because you're not used to receive in two hundred dollars a week. Now that's how much louisiana gave her an unemployment about two hundred forty dollars a week. She eventually got more help. Including additional three hundred dollars per week in federal unemployment benefits. She says that kept her above water and she's waiting for the casino to bring her back but there's a lot she still doesn't know like when it happened and what kind of job will be waiting for her. The buffets still closed and would feel turned rumors that we replaced with a food court. Meaning a job without tips would feel. It's fifty six and doesn't want to leave harrah's accompany she's been with for nearly two decades but she might have to you comfortable because his company got good insurance. Then you go somewhere else and you might have no insurance and it's like you start over like you crawling. I'm walkin now with this company. I don't wanna crawl but with those extra federal unemployment benefits running out tomorrow. She's not sure she can wait for the casino. More than two hundred thousand others will also no longer receive the three hundred dollar weekly payments neighboring states like mississippi and alabama that ended that federal benefit early have seen more people returning to work.
Mask Mandates Are Returning to Las Vegas
"As we go to press right now. It was just announced a little while ago. Masks are coming back to las vegas. It's unfortunate. I think we kind of saw it coming. Because as the cases increase. And there's talk about you know more infections in the delta variant. What have you. They were encouraging more mask-wearing and you know here comes in in. Vegas is going to be a part of that. Well yeah and here in san diego. Same thing the county's now recommending That everybody where their masks indoors yeah whether you're vaccinated or not. You still need to wear a mask. So i imagine out at harrah's rincon when we go this weekend. We'll probably see people wearing masks again. I mean i don't know how the casino feels about that but they recommending that you do it and i'll probably wear one. You probably will last heater around. You know all your patients. So they can't afford positive. And i like i said i kind of like the idea of not catching other things like a cold or any pictures. Even though this isn't particularly cold and flu smell. And i got kind of used to wearing the mass. It is unfortunately there's no question it's unfortunate but again they kind of just announced that before we started recording here. So if you have a trip planned for las vegas just be prepared for that. We didn't hear any talk about plexiglass dividers. Going back up or limiting the number of players so right. I didn't hear any talk about separation. Just the governor mandated mass to be worn indoors. Yeah so so again. If you've got a trip coming up be prepared at least for that. At least for
Things Are Getting Back to Normal at U.S. Casinos
"Normal at casinos across the country. We're gonna hear some phone calls from listeners. Talking about various casinos. But certainly by us at harrah's southern california they have lifted the mask mandate as long as you're vaccine right which i think pretty common if you're if you've been double vaccinated no mask and the courses they don't check but all you money one could not wear their absolutely but when you and i i went to the casino after they lifted it i was very pleasantly surprised at how many people were still wearing masks. Yes last night. When i was there mark i think me and another guy. We're the only ones. I saw not wearing a more way more. People are still wearing masks. Not more people which you know is probably smart eight hundred. They're not back native or do they just don't want to take any chance. I certainly don't blame them. Go you know go for it. Gosh wear it. If it doesn't bug you you know. Go ahead now you and i. We were wearing masks if we were walking around. Yeah but when we were at the table just sitting next to each other we took it off right but then we put it on what we went through the cashier and we walked around. Why we thought it with us. You know we. I don't really think about it. You know when it's on anymore but and it's table was just for comfort and you know the closest person to me. Is you and vice versa. Right so right exactly and the it seemed like most of the dealers are still wearing man. I agree there's only a few that weren't and
A Quick Guide to Multipliers
"If you play one hundred dollars through a slot and there's a seven times multiplier going on that day. It's as if you played seven hundred dollars through the slot as far as your comps goes. That doesn't mean getting seven dollars worth of let. Let's take an example. Let's say that. Normally if you play one hundred dollars to a slot machine you would get ten cents in comps that you could spend. Somehow if there's a seven times multiplier going on you'll get seventy cents for that hundred dollars that you played through. So that's basically what it is right. They multiply your reward points right now. They're different kinds of multipliers. Sometimes they're multipliers on your tier points. You know as far as your tier status goes other times. The multiplier is on wealth for caesar's anyway they're called reward credits the credits that you can actually spend like cash and julio actually followed up with an email to he was wondering in this case it sounded like it was only slots and he wondered if it ever happens with table games. Yes definitely in fact. I'd say most of the time when multipliers are offered it applies to any game that you're playing in the casino that's the way it is at harris southern california right now there may be some little rules here and there for example at harris southern california. If there's a ten times multiplier day on reward credits that will apply to every game except if you look at the small print except video poker. It's usually half and it only be five times. 'cause they figure well there's not as high a house edge on video poker is there are onslaught so sometimes you know depend on the game that you're playing but yeah you always watch out for these promotions because sometimes it can really pay off. I think right now. Sunday's are the multiplier every week at harrah's and it's hard for me to get out there. Mike on sundays on days when we've gone from multipliers. Oh my gosh we have gotten so many reward credits that we can use to spend
An Expert's Guide To Curly Hair
"Welcome to. I'm sharon hunt and this week's look dropped by. Guest is the incredible ruby aka the guru of curly and afro hair. Ruby is originally from zimbabwe but nowadays. She calls australia home. The originally self-taught stylist fell into hairdressing by accident. After witnessing friends and families struggle to find someone that understood this strands so she wound up doing it herself in her lounge room eventually she took up an apprenticeship began stalling out of multiple salons before finally opening up her own place. Rooming co in two thousand four room. Be thanks for dropping by. Thanks so much for having me sharing now. When i was a kid i distinctly remember being told if you ate all your crusts. Yo hey would go curly and i really badly wanted. Kelly has a you better believe i was gobbling down the crofton. I of course realize it was an old wives tale. That parents just tell you to eight year food. But i have to say. It's not the only myth that i've come across when it comes to curly hair. So why do you think there are. So many misconceptions about kohl's. I think something is misunderstood. There's a desire to want to make it a lot more palatable to each individual like answer for that very reason people come up with their own anecdotes around what this complex appendage actually is so people come up with so many things now yes i mean you told your cross for me. It was like eat your vegetables. And your hair is going to be straighter. You know what i mean like. Oh my gosh eating those so yeah. I think it's just because people really want to understand something that is complex and so yet this is where a lot of myths have come along and i hear them all the time. I've got lots of them to ask you about. Oh let's go. I guess to start with with. Kelly has to understand that. There's not just one type of co run us through just as an overview the different types of kohl's because you can tell by looking at someone calls not the same to the next. So why should you treat them the same one colleague on one hundred percent. So there's three curl types wavy curly in africa's how we sort of break down but then when you're looking at the typing system you've got type two which is wavy and that's lusa curls and there's three subcategories of that you've got to a to b to c and two c would be the tightest within that range and then you've got type three which is curly and within that again. Abc and c. And seeping tighter and then same thing for africa harrah's well after or coyly hair. Because i guess everyone who has coyly hair has an effort background. He is another curly myth. I've come across curly hair. Shampoos a marketing hype and normal shampoos worked. Fine let's start right there fact or fiction fact. They all marketing hive. Well okay no no no let me put it this way curly hair. People shouldn't shampoo their hair. That's a myth. Okay great stafa. Let's start there because that's actually. What's more commonly said trump who your hair. I've heard condition as well really. Yeah stop it. Maybe straight hair. How should you be carrying the curly hair. When it comes to washing its really simple. One of the things that i say to my clients often is you have to get rid of straight hair tendencies right. And how do you do that. It's just simplifying it. And which is part of what we do. We try and simplify everything for our clients. Because if you don't do that it's as though you're eating soup of the fork and that's gonna be very frustrating. And so how do you shampoo we take people through this whole process and it's like pretty much. Get the right shampoo first of all what you need to have the right product. Because not all sham periods would then be the same. Most shampoos actually stripped your hair. Which is why in some way. Yes don't shampoo your hair. I get with people. Come with that myth because it doesn't leave your hair as hydrated but then when you've got shampoo that is specifically designed for curly hair. It's supposed to cleanse but also hydrate to leave your hair feeling very moisturised. Soft supple and clean as well without streaky. Feel that you get when you get a deep cleansing shampoo

"My brown skinned daughter. I think i think harrah's elevating to the level where she is is them and i don't and here's the thing not things. I don't think she should have. Just been elevated. 'cause she's black like it's historic because she's black it's historic she's black and indian this historic. She's a woman. Those are the things that made historic. But she's also qualified so the other thing that it presents is just pick her because she's black. She's she she she's black when she was a she was a over. The land truckdriver needed a black person. That's not what he did. He picked someone who is ultimately infinitely qualified and also presents. Something else to my daughter's is that to my daughter and to my nieces is that they are going to see someone who looks like them who was also infinitely qualified that will push them hopefully inspire them to go onto something higher as if the recognition of black excellence versus. Just the tokenism. Maybe that we expected. Also i think too. It's it's nice to see again. I i don't want to you know we haven't solved anything. But i think the most promising part is it wasn't like hey we had that one black individual as a president that one time and we went years and years in very quick succession. We had eight years of barack obama four off years and now we're having comma harris in the white house so it was four very very oth- years were very but racist person we the pendulum follow..

The Cat and Mouse Game at the Mexico-U.S. Border
"Paso del Norte Bridge Pass of the North here people crossed from Horace to Al Paso or Paso to warez every day they crossed by car and foot to go to work to school to shop to visit family chaos and clutter hustle and bustle and adjacent train trestle called Black Bridge crosses nearby the scene of the tragic shooting. So many years ago. US border, patrol agent shot, and killed a fifteen year old Mexican boy after that. So what happened at the Rio Grande? Well, the facts are disputed. So we'll tell both sides of the story was talking about the circumstances that brought about the shooting the boy's parents say Sergio was playing a game with friends run across the border to the US side touch defense run back without getting. Caught kind of like a game of chicken. Yeah. I mean what kid hasn't played some version of that Game Kisha branch works for Barra Borderland Connections a nonprofit helping asylum seekers. She spends her days at shelters in El, Paso and shelters in Horace. She works closely with migrants and Border Patrol agents all that to say she's familiar with the area and the dichotomy of working with both sides. There are some kids that that play at the border, the border in New Mexico in an opera. There's a community right beside the border wall. There's a a lot of land and there's a trash pile, and so sometimes, the like moms will go out in like pick things out of the trash Powell for their homes like for household items. There are people that go into that space like where we go to visit the wall there some kids that come up to the wall and they talk to us and we'll just have conversations with them. So. Yeah. Are Kids that play in that area, but they play in the area because it's their backyard. But that's in an opera. What about downtown in the Rio Grande Canal by the bridge where the shooting happened according to my cabdriver it's not generally an area where kids play. Do kids play around the fence around the border. No. They don't let them get near. So that leads us to the other side of the story. Border Patrol says, Sergio was a coyote helping undocumented people illegally cross into the United States. coyotes often use coordinated distraction techniques. Draw the agents attention away from his surroundings victim. An Harrah's was the chief Border Patrol agent out of Paso when the shooting occurred he's now retired we used to call those still do they would call it a sacrificial room. Send someone a across or group appeal across to get the agent to react get the agent to start chasing a group and and what they do is soon as the agent leaves that that high. Position they say whatever they want to send. WHAT THE REAL INTENT It's almost like a diversion. So that happens all the time dangerous game, the game of cat-and-mouse. The boys ran back and forth across the border agent Mesa detained. One of Sergio's friends Sergio ran back to the Mexican side. He hid behind a pillar under the train trestle. That's when agent Mesa shot him in the face. Mesa says Sergio and his friends were throwing rocks, both men, Harrah's and George Gomez. The agent I talked with at the beginning of this episode, Say agents are trained for physical assaults cures, Gomez. Goh, there's different scenario that we run the training. Obviously, I think covered drive away from the air run seek cover and backup call for backup deescalate. Behavior. Here's the thing I don't want to downplay rock-throwing. David. With Iraq agent Mesa may very well have been endangered. Peres. Getting right and he's got a he's hunched over the guy that he was arresting. And you got your back towards man. You're you're you're really at risk even under the high pressure of split-second decision making the use of lethal force here has been criticized bystanders video captured the fatal shooting. In the video Sergio unarmed again, Kisha Branch who works at the border. The story that came out in the news is different from a story that we hear from the agents themselves. So I don't. I don't I have I have no answers Sergio's parents of course, do want answers and a legal remedy. Meaning an award of damages, the family believes the US. Constitution. Guarantees Sergio certain rights now the constitution of the United States setup the framework for the American government and the various rights people have with respect to the government right and the constitution applies to more than US citizens the preamble the very beginning of constitution says we the people of the United States so it doesn't specify Melvin Odi is a constitutional law professor at Faulkner University. which generally talking about in the way, the courts interpret these things into generally talking about the people who comprise the United States. We the people of the United States People Citizens Resident Aliens International Travelers in this country on holiday or for business when you're in the United States, those protections apply to you. But when you go back to wherever your home country is, those objections do not apply United States meaning of course, that's going to be. The Continental United States, but also include The US territories the special maritime jurisdiction of the United States which would be like on the seas. As far as the borders. The constitution applies within our borders and again sort of the territories that we control. Chris Galindo is one of the lawyers who represented the Hernandez family. Here's a clip from a video called Justice for Sergio Audio and Spanish here from a univision news investigation. Dominicano. Wasim Anthem Nisa. He says, can we sue the American government to be sure Hernandez was in Mexico and is Mexican the American government said we can't sue them because this is Mexico. Not The United States we're saying not bullet originated in the United States and they have to pay for the injustice. They did Moses Shindo is guy. I WITH MY NEIGHBORS GET TICKET WINDOW GOES ON WE are saying there are certain laws and certain ways. The Border Patrol agents need to treat human beings Mexican or American according to United States Laws Federal K. K. K. K.. You the Sergio's mom pleads God for help for justice this is going to haunt me until I leave this world. This acronym you can. Okay. Vido. Sergio's parents sued agent Mesa in Federal Court for excessive use of force. They claim Mesa violated Sergio's rights under the fourth and fifth amendments. Now here's a reminder of what those are faulkner professor Melvin Odi. Okay so The Fourth Amendment Fifth Amendment each sort of presents a bundle of rights but the fourth amendment in particular. Presents a list of restrictions on government agents were investigating crimes. Okay. So the prominent one is protection against. Searches and seizures. The court has interpreted seizure to include killing the taking of human. Life. Would have been saying. This was an unreasonable search and seizure the fifth amendment includes several closets. Relevant one, but there's a catch all. Near the end of the Fifth Amendment that says a person can't read deprived of life liberty or property without due process of law. So. In this case, the young man's life was taken. And the Fifth Amendment says, you can't do that without due process of without fundamentally fair legal proceedings. The first time this case worked its way through the court system the fifth US Circuit Court. Of Appeals dismissed the case it held Sergio's parents were not entitled to fourth and Fifth Amendment protections under various legal doctrines, but the Supreme Court said the fifth circuit and properly applied those legal doctrines. So it vacated the decision rendered null and void that was Hernandez one in. Two thousand, seventeen, the Supreme Court then remanded the case with specific instructions. It's at another question needed to be addressed. I is a givens remedy available. The Fifth Circuit said, no in this Supreme Court, appeal followed Hernandez

doesn't seem to be a concern in the longer we are slammed everyone is now at their goal is to buy a house this year I don't know if it's the new decade I don't know exactly what triggered this by I think that the fears of the housing market crashes kind of behind us a little bit and everybody is interested in getting ready to buy a house so and you know it's just it's booming I think this year is going to be fantastic with regards to interest rates we're still gonna experience low interest rates I think they're gonna stay low all year so that's awesome for anybody who is in the market to want to do we want to buy a house with a lot of things that that that it takes that to get ready to rock and roll we talk about a book we talk about our mobile app we talk about all these different things but I like is to remind our listeners when you one of the things that you have to have when you're ready to start looking AT HOMES in putting offers on homes is is getting pre qualified you have to have a pre qualification letter from a lender preferred Lee you because we can't we can't negotiate we can't submit an offer on your behalf and last we know that you're not only qualified but what you're qualified for so despite I think that really he determines the time table people wore determine the time table and then they start the process only to find out I should start this earlier because now my timetables extended that is the most important piece of information how can I get qualified how much can I get qualified for because once you know that then you can begin to build the time table absolutely and I know that you know looking at the homes is the fun part that's the exciting part of it applying for loans is the scary stressful not fun part and I understand that's what we call you funny me yes that because I make it fun in an easy and and you know whatever else I can do to lighten the burden of the stress that applying for a mortgage causes but I you know if you get that out of the way first it really does make the rest of the process just more enjoyable and you're not stressed about whether or not you can buy that dream home I could jump in here real quick one thing that I've found it's a fantastic tactic when it comes to buying a home is not as making sure that there's a lot of seller confidence and when you need them when the seller and in the listening agency offer come through in the pre qual has funny Amy on there they know that it's going to close it does nothing fun any I do have a first and last man I will I will not present any offers with that of recall that we got a rubber so yeah fans wanting on their where I am a professional I swear but that is correct to though however I am that you know you have a pre qualification and you know it's a it's a provided by someone who is experienced in the business a long time and trust me the listing agents when you're making an offer they've that your lender they do call me all of the time they call all lenders and you know that can make or break your offers so you know definitely make sure that when you are home hunting that you have a lender that does have a great backgrounds that is accessible that answers the phone that knows what they're talking about because in some cases especially when you're in a bidding war it can determine whether or not you'll get the offer because they seller or the listing agent has confidence that your loan is actually gonna close on time all right we do want to put you in touch with funny we that's really where to get the ball started it here's what you need to know is having a conversation with funny me and even going through the process of getting pre qualified obligates you to nothing you're not obligated there's no pressure it's you're just getting the information that you need to make decisions that are going to impact the rest of your life and if you follow our plan help you really build legacies of personal wealth and it and it doesn't take much time obligate you to nothing you're not pressured in anything and we just make the service available to you because you're you guys are amazing Katie our listeners you like to have that conversation and start the process go in text the word fun two four one one ninety two three that's fun to four one one ninety two three and I'm gonna put you in touch with one Amy and for those who are curious last name's baton she does have a real name Amy I think you it's kind of like having a I'm at the point for Christmas I a I ask for Costco give cards is what can't you buy a cosco when you're do meet alcohol cool toys all kinds of things like Kirk when you don't need to discuss your current dear I honestly did not know that okay anyway so maybe I should be talking to right job over there as we walk into the cosco without dropping two hundred Bucks it's it's almost impossible and when you're picking all these things that you need for your you know for your household and things like that then all son when you get when you get looking at the toy ease and and the different things you know all of a sudden now it becomes a lot more expensive a lot more apprehension into making these purchases but when you get a cosco give card any walking a cosco so much freedom I can I've got cash the bird and I got a money burning a hole in my pocket I got this gift card I'm is like free money and I'm going to go walk around with a big fat smile on my face and I we have a good time picking out things that's what a pre qualification letter as what you have that in your hand it becomes all kinds of fun because now you actually and and we will print it for you and you can walk around with this piece of paper and it's the freedom of knowing the license your virus a license to behind yeah and that's all that's a lot of fun and that's why we start the process with you yes a good analogy it it I like being cosco and Mike Oscar analogy I haven't you're the Kirkland okay I'm playing with her **** yeah you lost me on that one but I'm it's not just about having the pre qualification letter though it's having someone spend the time to explain the process to you to explain what you qualify for and why what the program means what the time line looks like and you know a lot of people when I get someone who has spoken to you know another lender or maybe a but major bank I'm you know I'll say okay we'll do they explain this did they explain that and the like no they just give me my pre qualification letter I don't know anything about what I can to you so it's really important to make sure you get that full service so that your shopping with knowledge and not just throwing stuff in your cart like a Costco like that I love it thank you I love it I love it I mean I don't know what what would have been more relatable Victoria's secret what would get you having a gift card for I'm not a gambler it's like walking into a buffet and somebody's paid for the all you can eat buffet fantastic right where my wrong in my logic right our listeners got it I think we can move on from that I don't I don't I I have a question for you so at the beginning of every single year it feels like there's a lot of changes in the lending industry it's very important to have these conversations with Amy but so she I know you can't go over all the changes but what's the one biggest changes happen this year that the that is affecting what's going to happen good question ran the lone loan amounts went up on the biggest change right now the conforming loan limit is five ten five hundred and ten thousand so you essentially could go and purchase a five and I apologize off top I had five hundred and thirty thousand dollar home and put the minimum down of you know five percent or what not and it's so it just increased people's buying power all righty well you're buying power has been increased but you may not even know what you're buying power is a and it you find out in the stars by having a conversation with fine Amy she'll help you work through it to show you all the different options show you what you qualify.

"Casino resort and Harrah's resort this very weekend. You can also watch his new half hour comedy series. Historical roasts on Netflix. He's one of the most loved people in this town in his professionally because he's funny because he is just an awesome person great. Thanks, reg. Jeffrey raw good intro. You know what? I get paid top dollar for that in certain section medians intro is foreplay. You understand like when I hear that everything starts happening for me right now. I wish I could rip this Mike out of the thing on walk around the room. You know what it's possible to work going have a Mike last time I was here. I snapped a football you snap the football. David tell your your, your old Jeff lift showed stays, right? Says that your I was a center on the gun at the date and regional high school BULLDOGS in Springfield, New Jersey never wanna a game for you. And we got the video right there, there. It is view in your veins. You got down there. Down there and it's like riding a bike. You just not that thing to me and tell couldn't even believe it. Look at that talent very hidden talent. My friend historical roasts is fantastic. And I will explain why okay Cuban because you're, you're rose, you know what a big fan of row. Siam richest been for his fans has been support rich has been talking about the Rothe like sporting events since I met him because they are events. They are vents, and it is a competition between the comedian's onstage against each other, and then against the, the person who's being roasted. I y grew up on the old Dean Martin rose. I I'm an old school guy. I know you are to your, your love LA showbiz of buddy Hackett and Don Rickles, or people very near and dear to your heart, you, can, you knew them, you know, or okay. Under his show in a lot of ways that, oh my gosh to those Dean, Martin rose. Well, the interesting part about it is, is your roasting historical figures, obviously historical rose. So historical figures you roasting the two that I saw the at the premiere and Brockman, you're gonna love this man. You're gonna love this. If you haven't already seen it, it's been available for streaming now for a couple of weeks Abe Lincoln. Yeah. And Freddie Mercury. Okay. So not only do you have the Roasti being historical figure about the roasters. You're the roast master general you're, you're dressed in the garb of the play the roast master general of the union army roasting Abe Lincoln played by Bob sagged, and then soon as Bob, that he was willing to play Lincoln. I had a call John stamos and say, I need a job. And, and the chemistry between them to his so phenomenal. And then we rounded out with Harriet, Tubman played by Monica Saunders was amazing. She stole the show as didn't motagim as very, very Todd Lincoln, a drug addled Mary Todd Lincoln. Get up there. And the funny thing is, is that not only are the jokes at the expense of the historical figure, but they're at the expense of the actor and actress who are playing like. You kind of step a couple of times, you step out, and you make it like a celebrity roast with historical lows. And then you learn you actually learn a little bit of something about the history and its intelligent. It's funny it's and the audience is dressed also in the garb of the as well. That was that was something I wanted to do from my childhood ice address, up and got a rocky horror picture show. Sure as a high schooler, and I thought I want my show to be a party. I want to throw a party for Abe Lincoln and have the audience. And that way it's easier to get the wives if I call up, sagging famous that I call the wives separately. I say come early, our costumers going to dress you up. It's going to be a party, we're going to have fun. And like they're all like, all right. We're all in, and it was it's, it's so damn funny. I really isn't. It's worth. Well, I even tried to give you a log line or a tagline for historical rose. What, what had net flicks land on what does he landed on? Teaching history lesson teaching history lesson to struggle. It's never too soon. And then you and then you add, it, it's never too late either. Because somebody's people Cleopatra, we rose never too soon. It it's never too late. It's look either way. It's just awesome. It really. So who are the other ones that, that are being roasted? Well, we roasted a Muhammed Ali on this one. Okay. And who were the ones who roasted Mohammed Ali, it was what we called the goat roast. So all the, the greatest of all time in their fields. So Babe Ruth, obviously Peru fli, who was my idol as a black belt, and take Cuando, Ben fleeing, really inspired me as a kid, and then, of course Josh Hami from Queen to the stone, age plays Elvis. And he just he sings at the end. There's a lot of music in the show. Okay. And Ali was all he was great. My opening joke Ali Khalil white place. Mohammed ali. All right. He kills it and he knows a lot about sports. No, I know he's been on this show. Many times he, he's, he plays two characters on the show on one episode. He plays Ali. And then on the roast of Martin Luther King Kaleo plays, Nelson Mandela, and he got a standing ovation. He was so funny such a talented guy he sits down in the in the in the seat of honor at the Mohammed Ali rose. And I'm wearing a wig, and I'm doing a hybrid. Jeff Ross Howard Cosell. Character and immediately we go into like the classic Ali of Billy crystal thing where Jalil as Ali is grabbing from my. And I'm just trying to stay in the Cavs shot. Kate by drugs, go and, and Talil sits down. And he's varying character when you watch it, and I say, you know, this is amazing. We wanted to roast the greatest athlete of all time, but three away. It was wasn't available. Yeah, it was really good. It was really fun. It's a party, but it's also educational I mean, we go deep we roast and Frank on the show man now. Wow. No kidding. That's right. You told me that. But well, I forgot you told me that. How did that go? It went very, very well. You know what she didn't complain once with great support? And Frank is near and dear to my heart. I read her diary, as a kid, all this me what my uncle Murray and the greatest generation fought for during World War Two and I didn't wanna Rothe people. I don't love I, I love Ann, Frank. She gets. She's up there in the seat of honor. And let's face it, the whole thing kind of turned into a Hitler roast. Jon lovitz plays. FDR. Hitler godfried. In the leader hose in, by the way, I call Gilbert up. Well you play Hitler and I didn't even get the Lur out, and he was like, yes. And it sounds incentive. But, but yes, it does. I wanted to keep her name and story alive. More and more. My show isn't for people close to her stories for people who might not remember or might get confused with Helen Keller, or, or never even know about the holocaust. So it really goes out to the hundred eighty countries where net flicks. I do have to say a couple of times during the premier we saw the two of them and us, you know, we have three small children. So I do not watch much television, rather. But we we, we have it totally planned to watch the other four. Now, we did say to a couple of times during the two like we didn't know that, like literally there were a couple of facts. Like we did not know like an actual historical lesson. Well, you know, and there's a show on Netflix. That be we did watch with our kids called who was, which is about a bunch of books about who was that these kids read about who was Gandhi, who was ABRAHAM LINCOLN. But it's real for kids. But they also have a lot of fun with it for adults to me, this is like, the who was for adults a really, really is, I can't speak about it enough. And then when you mention the Freddie murky wrote roast Seth green plays David Bowie, but in the full Ziggy stardust fit. He left that on for hours after the show. Yeah. Yeah. I would have to pretty good. Well, I've got some good news for you. Jeffrey, go ahead. Mike del tufo, fellow New Jersey of Jeffrey Ross, tell them what you what you've done the vote for the primetime Emmys. I got one of your categories, so I took carry man. Can you imagine if my Roche show they've Lincoln was for, I think, to watch the whole thing? Yeah, but when I watched I was dying that means so much. Yeah. You know, you always wanna make people in the business and comedians laugh, and that means a lot when it happens. Well, bro. Russia's been supporting the Rothe forever. He's always calling me up with lines. I if I have joked, I'm not sure about, I can call rich up and go to this make sense, especially when I'm roasting an athlete, I go rich, I go where's the line is this? Okay. You're really good with, well you know what? Because I'm a huge fan just huge fan of the concept of roasts. Because in our Dan age, there is somewhat of. More of a lack of sense of humor of certainly poking fun yourself, laughing at the world about serious things, and, you know, having serious people get roasted is just a fun thing to watch and see the shattner roasts that you invited me to when he strolled in on when he wrote in on a horse William Shatner wrote into the rose law. Okay. And you could kind of see him stroll past the table, Susie, and I are sitting at, and then George decay gets up their line of the, of the century as Bill. I've been waiting to say this. President bill. I've been waiting to say this to you forever. And he says the real word goes, F you and the horse you wrote in. No. By the way that night at these. When Betty white began, her major comeback rushed it at that Rosa, and that's when the Facebook the Facebook campaigns to get her to host out live writing from that night at that roast. Wow. You write your fact. See, I'm a I'm, I'm a hissed historian, roaster fach, you might not jeffer- anyway, to fold the color white with named after her. Love. Anyway. You're watching you do only roast the ones you love. That is a true story, though. That is because that's the old. So does that mean you love Alec Baldwin because that's the new, that's enough. Fan of his movies from my favorite movies. Okay. So now when you do you personally reach out to Alec Baldwin to make something like this happen. How does this case I did not? But sometimes I do. Okay. So in this case comedy, central hooked up without okay? And talking on for a while. And of course I'm on all those conversations. Sure, one of the producers of the show, right? So you give a check, Mark. There's certain list of people, and then they reach out. We'll talk about or target like that's the guy I want now take it who has thick skin, your who's got something going on. And, and like who they can draw like with Alec. He's been connected to so many, great film stars TV stars. I think he's going to have an incredible day and I can't say too much yet, but I think this is going to go down as a very, very memorable ROY. Okay. So you already have some names that you can't mention right now. They think that will fill out the day. Right. I mean Alec Baldwin think about all the great people work. No question about it. And I. Saw his comedians in cars, getting coffee, with, with Seinfeld. Right. He's one of the funniest ones that they, they had Baldwin very clever guy for a good looking guy. He's very funny. Very rare. Is that mean good? Looking people can't funny wants to hear a good looking guys self deprecating. I can't meet a girl. What are you gonna brand pits? Never gonna do stand up guys like look like me. Do stand up. You're very handsome man. Thank you. I do want to say this Jeff, I've known you now as I just mentioned. It's coming up on twenty years. Well, the, the ladies that you have dated and been around, you don't seem to be hurting Jeffrey, he can make a woman laugh at herself. You can make her do anything. In the roast mind. That's like a jet. I trick or something like that sort of thing. Yes. Oh my gosh. Put that on a bumper sticker jokes. You're hearing. Yeah. You know, you know, the that part.

"New York seven ten w o r. Did you say all the entertaining stuff in the president has a rally in Montoursville Pennsylvania last night? Right. What'd you say, t's? We have all the humor hilarity his rallies are a lot of fun. A lot more interesting. Joe Biden's boring rallies thinking that Biden is just going to run away with this. No runaway Asian know who's going to be a Bernie mayor Pete. Maybe not going to be Bernie Harrah's fraction. Blasios it'll, it's the blog to lose here. So trumpet is rally Weli went after was he call him. Sleepy Joe these. Know Scranton nine no they will. I know the places better he left you for another state, and he didn't take care of you because he didn't take care of you jobs. There you go. He left you at the alter, Joe Biden as the vote for me. Donald trump. Biden, deserted you from Benson. I guess he was born here. But he left you folks, he left you for another state. Very interesting argument to make. How could you possibly vote for Pennsylvania? He left you for other states. God. I did want to walk Buddha. Judge? I did want to watch. I always have to watch the competition. If you call it that he was not going to hell out of FOX and FOX's, but if somebody's going to have to explain the whole Foxtail to me, he's not happy with FOX. The, the interesting part was the other night Buddha. Judge this is a town hall New Hampshire and he took a shot at both Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingram and Chris Wallace who's the hosts didn't say anything. Didn't even defend the well what was he going to say? He didn't wanna get into a tit for tat over ROY Moore Ingram. Interesting. I wonder what the back office chatter is over that. Well, you know what the ratings are very good. So I think they're very happy with it because ultimately, that's what they want. Think Carlson and Ingram are happy. I think you're trying to stir up something. That's not really they're trying with FOX, by the way what's going on there? Democrats on, then you have Republicans at something.

"Report is over and done. But is it really attorney general William Barr testified on Capitol Hill today in front of the Senate Judiciary committee. A lot of fans there. But a lot of Democrats that don't really like the tone. He took with this four page summary of the mullahs report and just today. Some Democrats are using bar said he is mad at them for using the criminal Justice process as a political weapon and one Hawaii Senator Hirono said just was just letting accusations fly at him back and forth and said that he should resign. And all these other things a lot to it. And we're so glad to have attorney and the purveyor of political vanguard dot com. The author of the divided era Tom double Caro who also has just oh several articles on Fox News right now. And some of them do revolve around Muller, Tom, what did you take away mostly from some of today's testimony? Well, certainly is divided Europe politics business major takeaways. Always remember this has nothing to do with far or actually how he disclosed the mullahs report. Remember their illogical Harris says he didn't look at all the evidence implying you didn't take enough time. Other Democrats said you allow Trump by taking so much time? You have Trump the field for weeks on this is about one thing and one thing. They want to undermine bar because bars presiding over what will lined up as indictments or should. Democrats in the Obama administration. And so they wanna do everything they can today and tomorrow is bars coming back after that. Unlikely. Anyway, they want to undermine him. So that if in fact, he does does approve these indictments that they'll say, well, he was bias. That's number one number two in the presidential sweepstakes. You have three people there today. Senator Amy cl- club char from Minnesota come Harrah's and Cory Booker. Cory Booker was an outright failure. He pump ticketed, but didn't really make any points and his din leaving self time to make an points with his questions. Come ahead wasn't as bad as him. But she wasn't good. First of all camels a liar. How was the DA? She makes charging decisions San Francisco. She doesn't review the underlying evidence. So she's just a liar bringing that up to bar. But that that doesn't surprise me the one who did well that's always Amy coma char because they club Machar said coming out of this. What can we do going forward? She started with that. Then she did make some points. So on the political realm for the Democrats running for president only, Amy char I thought showed herself to the American people as someone. Oh, she actually cares about this. I think our vice presidential stock rose today. Probably focus less on the mullahs report during this interrogation than they are the twenty twenty Ray, certainly as you say. And you know, they've been asking a bar to come in and testify. And is it good for Trump and a lot? He's today and tomorrow testifying is it good for him. Everyone describes him as a smart guy in the room. So why not because he can perhaps own those Democrats. Well, it certainly good to get this over with nap. I think if she didn't testify mother didn't testify then this would drag out longer, and they would claim oh, he's trying to obstruct. Right. He doesn't want the truth to come out. So better to get this over now in a non election year, foreign advance. Although the Democrats will look you saw that Senator from Hawaii an utter disgrace around out and not already. Yeah. What a disgrace. She is. You saw that. So don't say call bar to lie just to be clear, she called bar liar and said you should resign. She just loves to to grandstand and just just really out there, and she's very offensive and our little soundbite. She does to shut up. Yeah. I don't think say when it comes to sexual harassment. They should just be charged or end, quote, the right thing. Anyway, it's better to get this over with now because it's going to turn on the Democrats, and you want your side of the equation out of the way. Good good. Well. The other thing I wanted to ask you about what before ask you about some of the things you wrote about on Twitter. We love to follow you on social media, Tom Caro, author of the divided era. Gotta have this on your bookshelf. And you wanna you wanna read and go back and check it out now, and then Lindsey Graham viscera the Clinton campaign, and he was talking about some of the results of this campaign or the Muller probe. How Trump so cooperated and provided all these documents millions and the meanwhile Clinton's out there, scrubbing, hard drives and things. Some of the things that Democrats positions. They took today are third. Here's a position that's absurd for them. It's illegal to get information from foreign entities. That's false. It's not. But if it is Hillary paid for it. So she's actually guilty. Do they really want that to be the standard? Apparently, they do. So it's absurd. And look she's guilty on many more different levels. It's obstruction for Trump to have mental intent but not for Hillary smash phones. I mean just is. So it gets richer and richer, right? Democrats position so weak on obstruction. It's absurd. But it doesn't matter because they seem the media the CNN's the world CBS ABC NBC will just parrot their position and their friends will never know about it. I mean. There's polling out that shows that Americans only thirty four percent of Americans know that the Hillary campaign funded the GPS Christopher Steele dossier. Why is that because ABC NBC MSNBC CBS and CNN John tell viewers that truth if they knew that that would undermine them. So the Democrats today went on TV said what they wanted to say knowing it will be buried it. Now that doesn't mean for your viewers who are on the other side of the aisle. It doesn't mean that the Trump campaign administration has has been all roses on how to deal with Robert Muller. And I'm not saying that. Well, what I am saying is that and I said this in FOX today. Muller knew all along. There was never any evidence.

I was gonna say how's that feel because you said earlier, you don't fill the shoes of I mean, you don't ever there's a way of carrying on the musicality and honoring the legacy that Bobby left, which is what you do. "My name is Tom Sullivan. So. Kamla Harrah's enter big Oakland roll out over campaign. Talked about the fact that. That education is a fundamental, right? And that she is all for universal pre-k being funded. So it'll be free. Doesn't matter. How much money you have? Or don't have the pre K. I so I don't want to talk about Kamla Harris. But I wanna talk about pre K for a moment. I haven't talked about this in years. But I go back, and I look again to see if what I've found before is still the case. And I find out it is that is that pre K doesn't work. You heard me, right. Pre K does not work, but it is the cat's meow for especially people on the left, but not just on the left. Just young parents. Are obsessed with this pre K have to have my kids in pre k I mean, I mean how can little Johnny or Suzy? I mean, they got they got well, guess what? They do fine. People of my vintage there wasn't a pre K pre K is something that they came up with. I believe in the seventies. And generally, it was a bunch of families that had some money. Goodson their little Johnny's and Suzy's off to pre K and the people without a lot of money could not. So that is how this thing got started into. Well, obviously, this is why kids from poor homes and poor neighborhoods are destined for disaster in life because of the fact that those little kids do not have the same advantages to s the kids who did go to pre K because the pre K kids were all from affluent families. I get how people went, oh, we got to be able to do. It's all about remember, the the the the the the program here in this country, isn't that we guarantee outcome. What we do is. We guarantee opportunity everybody has equal opportunity. But we don't say everybody has an equal outcome. That's what they do in communist countries. Everybody will be the same. So this pre K thing has fascinated me. Because study after study after study has pointed to the fact that it just does not work. So what happens is your little three year old or four year old? They go to pre K and compared to little Johnny and Suzy down the street that does not go to pre K. Well, guess what? They're able to maybe recite the first five letters of the alphabet, and maybe they can go through and name. That's read that's blue. That's good nicknamed cars, they can do the squares and circles and fitting them into little boxes where they fit all that sort of stuff that they they do they they could do things as four year olds and three year olds that other three and four year olds cannot do. Here's the problem. When children go to kindergarten and first grade the studies have shown that kindergarten and first grade teachers spend their time going over what the kids in pre K. We're taught. So they go over here are the colors. Here are the shapes. Here are some of the letters of the alphabet. Let's see how far we can go. And so the first the kindergarten and first grade kids whether they've been to pre K or not if they haven't been they're gonna learn it there if they have been to pre K it's going to be redundant for them. They're not going to learn anything really all that do. So as a result. When they test the kids in second grade and third grade and fourth grade, and they do it for a number of years. They find out. All right. This child did not go to pre K this child. Did what are the what are the differences between the two kids? Nothing. There's no advantage to the kids who went to pre K over the kids that did not. Now, what they also found which makes all the sense in the world. Is that? Now that they're requiring more and more of mandatory pre K for kids, it's free and everything else. They're finding out that a lot of the kids that went to pre K. Now, come from lower income homes. Then they get past kindergarten and first grade where they kind of relearn what they were taught the last couple of years, and they start regressing. They don't advance in the reason why is because of the fact that a lot of these kids that doesn't mean all poor kids good grief. But a lot of there's a lot of kids from disadvantaged homes. Who don't have a mom and dad, they may have one. Maybe maybe neither one of them is really there. Maybe grandma is involved or foster programs or something where they're not. They're not getting the home environment, which is the key to success for not only little children. But also for kids in the eighth grade kids in the twelfth grade that if you don't have somebody at home that cares about what you're doing in school. Then you're not going to do as well in school. It has an awful lot to do with with your parents or whoever's watching over the kids, but this this obsession with funding pre K in here in New York City. Mayor de Blasio who's a big socialist. Is absolutely apoplectic about pre K is the key to everything. And yet, I go has anybody read any of the studies? I mean, I'm looking at the Brookings institute. Asked the question does pre K work in their answer is no it doesn't there's a very famous study widely. Cited report the Tennessee voluntary. Pre k study found that early gains from peak. Pre k education were short lived. So. The study found a group of children who did not go to pre K actually surpassed the pre K kids by the second and third grade. And that is consistent from study to study to study, you might find one out liar. But the studies that I have seen in their endless. Say that there is no advantage by the second or third grade. So why do we do this? Well, I you tell me why you set your children to pre K. I know we have set arch children the pre K. More for the socialization than for anything else. They would have all kinds of other little buddies a little friends there, and they would learn about how to get along with all these other children. And while they were there. They were learning the the ABC's and the one two threes, and the colors and the shapes and all sorts of is all nice, but academic it does not advantage any any child who goes to pre K verses one who does not. But trying to convince people of it otherwise. Usually. And you're welcome to call and dispute it with me if you like. But. I don't have any problem with doesn't hurt to send your child to pre K programs doesn't hurt at all. But I don't know why we're spending billions of dollars in this country on a program that doesn't work. It doesn't it doesn't give your child. One step ahead of the kids who did not go. So I mean, those of you in education, maybe you're maybe you have a different experience..

But I go back, and I look again to see if what I found before is still the case. And I find out it is. And that is that pre K doesn't work. You heard me, right. Pre K does not work, but it is the cat's meow for especially people on the left, but not just on the left. Just young parents. Are obsessed with this pre K have to have my kids pre-k. I mean, I mean how can little Johnny or Suzy? I mean, they got they got well, guess what? They do fine. People of my vintage there wasn't a pre K pre K is something that they came up with. I believe in the seventies. And generally, it was a bunch of families that had some money. Good gender little Johnny and Suzy's off to pre K and the people without a lot of money could not. So that is how this thing got started into. Well, obviously, this is why kids from poor homes and poor neighborhoods are are destined for disaster in life because of the fact that those little kids do not have the same advantages to s the kids who did go to pre K because the pre K kids were all from affluent families. I get how people went, oh, we got to be able to do. It's all about remember, the the the the the the the program here in this country, isn't that we guarantee outcome. That's good nicknamed colors. They can do the squares and circles and fitting them into little boxes where they fit all that sort of stuff that they do they could do things as four year olds and three year olds that other three and four year olds cannot do. Here's the problem. When children go to kindergarten and first grade the studies have shown that kindergarten and first grade teachers spend their time going over what the kids in pre K. So I mean, those of you in education, maybe you're maybe you have a different experience. But if you're an education, you have to admit, you know, the studies. In two thousand fifteen. We allocated six billion dollars in state funding in forty two states and the district of Columbia. I don't know what the other eight states did. But six point two billion dollars to fund pre K programs. And that's where a lot of people are focusing boarding school money. It seems to me it's a waste of money. If you want to fund education great, but let's put it somewhere where you're going to get some some bang for the buck some results and a pre K program doesn't.
