Prosecutors are accusing letitia stoke of killing stepson ganon stoke in January of 2020 in Colorado, and then putting his body in a suitcase and dumping it over a bridge in Florida, authorities allege that letitia stokes stabbed and shotgun a few hours before reporting a missing while his father was on a National Guard deployment, stout his pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to first degree murder and related offenses, but a Colorado mental hospital determined that stout was sane at the time of the killing. Her daughter Harley hunt testified that she never suspected that ganon's body was in a rented van in which she and her mother drove to Florida and then South Carolina, hunt said she felt manipulated and lied to. Paul Martino Exposes the Left's Plot to Fabricate a Bullying Epidemic
"Martino joins us who is the chair of back to school Pennsylvania pack. So very powerful story. It's a great story, national review rides, Pennsylvania teachers, activists, concocted bogus LGBTQ bullying epidemic for political gain investigation fines. Paul, welcome to the program. Tell us about this story. Harley, I'm thrilled that you're able to cover this story because what happened in our district is just unbelievable. Once the left lost the school board is the result of their bad COVID policies in 2021, they decided that they would do anything in their power to discredit the current board. They concocted the strategy to make up a fake bullying epidemic. And the report was issued by Duane Morris demonstrating that they actually had a teacher who refused to report incidences of bullying so that he could instead go to the ACLU and complain. We then had one of the own school board members one of the Democrats on the school board then sick the office of civil rights on our district. It is disgraceful behavior and everybody needs to understand that this is what's going on. Yeah, so let's just take a step back. Tell our audience about your activism. Is it true you got over a hundred and 60 school board members elected in Pennsylvania? It's correct. We backed over a 300 candidates primarily in the wake of COVID and the horrible policies that locked down our schools. And so the district that we're referring to was one of the places where we got three new members elected to flip the board majority. And boy, we really pissed them off when we flipped the board majorities. And they decided that they were going to teach us a lesson. And it's disgraceful behavior.

"Nah, dude, you're not on the right bike. Yeah, I think if anyone's like clicky, I think that's like on its way out, doing clicky and can keep you like that. And if you're the kind of person who's like, this person's not a real enthusiast, 'cause for whatever reason, then you can go ahead and shut the fuck up here. You're a dork. Don't bleep that out. Keep it in. The kids need to hear it. You know what's no cap being inclusive? Yeah, no cap. You're not hurting anybody else. Do whatever the you want. Gatekeeping? That's major cap, dude. For real, for real. A combined 40,000 bikers took the offer and were led by Harley's top executives, including beals and blue stain. On a series of road trips that featured auctions and giveaways. Whoo. Okay. Every kind of writer was represented, including retirees, weekend warriors, and even a sprinkling of hardcore biker clubs. When they finally arrived in Milwaukee on June 18th, the city glistened with chrome jokes. Yeah, it hurt my eyes. The Charlie Daniels band played. Oh, they played that one song over and over again. Rock me like that. Devil went down to Georgia. Beale's got soaked in the celebrity dunk tank. I was hoping there was a dunk tank. And the crowd participated in activities like slow races were the winner is the last one to cross the finish line. You're saying, so it's like a balance test. Yeah, you gotta do it without falling over. My good friend for me. I'm really good at it in my motorcycle with four wheels and my good friend from high school, Mike Mulligan, rest in peace was the first one to get a motorcycle in our group. And I remember none of us had transportation, but he wanted to bring his motorcycle. So we were walking from his house in my house and he was just on the street doing this slow race. I was trying to stay upright. And we're like, you can meet us there. You can just drive. And he's like, no, this is pretty fun. As the festivities wound down, the crowd cheered as two projector screens showed footage of the participants voyage to Milwaukee. Hey, that's me. As you know, that's you. That's you. Hey, that guy looks like me, I'm gonna fart him. That is you Rick. Harley sword into the 19 90s with the introduction of another popular throwback cruiser. The FX STS Springer soft tail as well as the FLS TF fat boy. The company reported a 62% share of the U.S. heavyweight bike market in 1991 with Honda in second place at only 16 percent. The early 90s also saw the first of Harley-Davidson's dynalite, the FX DB Dyna glide Sturgis as well as a fleetwide change from metal chains back to drive belts. Not only did the new gen belts offer a smoother ride, but riders were no longer hassled with the maintenance required for chains. It was also a time of dramatic expansion with new facilities opening in Milwaukee, Franklin, Wisconsin, and the company's first foreign factory in Brazil. I don't know if that's Missouri or Kansas, where over 2000 applicants competed for only 300 jobs. Sounds like the current American market. A major reason for this was that Harley has a reputation for being a fantastic place to work. Remember William Davidson, the cofounder who signed the agreement to make Harley-Davidson a union shop in 1937. His dedication to employee satisfaction was carried into the new millennium by our boy, Jeff bluestein. Bluestein's improved labor laws led to fortune magazine, naming Harley-Davidson as one of the best companies to work in 1998. The same year Harley announced record sales in the first quarter after 32 months of consecutive growth. You hear that? Other big companies, you treat your workers right. You see growth. Yeah, but they're about to go out business. Foreshadowing. We'll get back to more past guests, but right now, a word from our sponsors. Along with all the bikes and camaraderie, the weekend featured a never ending cavalcade of Harley branded merchandise. Merch makes up about 5% of Harley-Davidson's annual revenue, which translates to over $200 million worth of leather, boots, and other hog gear. Gear. The company also offers motorcycle insurance, credit cards, and a riding academy where you can shell out 300 bucks per class to safely saddle up and learn from their expert riders. I remember looking forward to this hundredth anniversary.

"Noel Gallagher had a band. And they were just like, whatever. He was the singer. I mean, he's got to find voice. He's really good songwriter. They weren't doing anything. So he's like, hey, Liam. How about you come sing for my band? And Lee was like, you been so stick around and sing for him. And he moved from Kent to Essex. And started singing for oasis, and the rest is a wonderwall. In 1903, the team built their first complete motorcycle, featuring a single cylinder engine, a buckle crank, and a leather drive belt, the bike was kickstarted by the writer pedaling until the engine built up enough compression to take over. Like a moped. Yeah. Shortly thereafter, the eldest Davidson brother William joined the team, and in 1904, they created a second prototype, which premiered in a race at state fair park in Milwaukee. So it's three Davidson brothers. And one Harley, and he gets all the credit. Dude, that guy rules. I mean, Harley is a great name. Harley's a really good name, but I've been that guy's personality rules. To be able to three brothers and be like, no, I think I'm so proud of first. The company's first production bike, the Harley-Davidson model one, was formally introduced in 1905, and America's newest motorcycle manufacturer was officially off and running. In 19 O 6, Harley-Davidson had 6 employees and built a new 28 by 80 foot factory right there on chestnut street. Today, known as Juno avenue. Oh, I know, you know. Yeah, it's after that movie with Michael Cera. Juno, Rainn Wilson. It's quirky. Diablo Cody. Diablo Cody. This is where Bill Harley designed his first internal combustion engine. Harley-Davidson produced 50 bikes that year and released their first product catalog where they were nicknamed silent gray fellows. What? In reference to their love of dove gray paint. And quiet, reliability. Okay, it's that east coast gray were always looking for. That's an inside joke that. Neither of you worked here for. The first four months of donut. The company was officially incorporated in 1907, and it was time to give the founding fathers official titles. As for the three Davidson brothers, Walter was named president, Arthur, general sales manager, and secretary, and William became head of production. Meanwhile, Bill Harley, who completed his mechanical engineering degree from university of Wisconsin Madison that same year was the chief engineer and treasurer. Go badgers. Go badgers. That is so sick. I love that. Go badgers. Despite their growing success, William Harley wanted to take their bikes to the promised land, which for him meant building a two cylinder engine, which he did in 1909. With a displacement of 49.5 cubic inches and 7 hungry buff horsepowers the soon to be legendary V twin could reach speeds as high as 60 mph. Dude, in 1909, 1909, and I guarantee there's no suspension on that thing. I mean, scary as hell. Dude, that'd be awesome. I used to have a moped with a solid rear end. It was like a BMX bike. And it would go 60. Oh, God. It was awesome. You had to pedal it. That's sick. Shout out to Brighton bees in North Carolina. If you're still a company, they build really cool mopeds. Harley-Davidson's production rose to 3200 machines by 1910 and the bar and shield logo was used for the first time, which was sketched by the Davidson boys aunt, Janet. Shout out Janet. Great job. That's iconic. Aunt Janet, we need a logo. In 1911, Harley introduced the 7 D, their first model with a V twin engine. Three years later, the ten F featured the first V twin with two speeds and a step starter similar to the modern day KickStarter. The ten F was also the first model to use a chain rather than a leather drive belt, which would corrode much faster than metal. I mean, you know, bury a horse and bury a piece of metal. Come back 6 months later, tell me which one looks more different. One's gonna taste better. That's for sure. Yeah. We love horse kimchi. Based on Harley-Davidson's increasingly strong reputation, the U.S. Postal Service was using 4800 Harley bikes to deliver mail by 1914. Arthur Davidson also successfully expanded Harley-Davidson contracts with various police departments and the U.S. Military, which was fine timing. Considering a guy named Franz Ferdinand was about to be assassinated in Austria, leading to World War I. Said no one. No, I was letting you have this one. Take me out. Roughly 50% of Harley sales went to the U.S. Military for use in World War I. Hey guys, guess what? Probably charge triple. We got the military? And also guess what? The entire world is going to war. Oh no. Wait, what countries? All of them. Literally. All of them. Like we mentioned in the hells angels episodes. The motorcycles were mainly used for scouting on the battlefield, so you'd have some guy right up there and be like, okay, this is where the guys are and ride back. That would be a sick movie to make a movie about a World War I. That's cool. What do we call it? Scout it out. No, it'd have to be called, it had to be a certain time where a scout really helped the thing and the name of the movie is like latitude and longitude coordinate to be like, wow. Like 80 by one 60 west. I was going to say trench hoppers. Yeah, that's sick. Andrew Garfield stars. Oh, he is so in. Jon Hamm is in it. And Timothée Chalamet. He's in all of our movies. The company also opened their first service school, which operated as an army training facility for mechanics throughout the war. Did these guys are a good startup? Yeah. After the armistice was signed in November of 1918, Corporal Roy holtz was the first American soldier to cross into Germany, and he was riding, a Harley-Davidson, when he did it. Harley-Davidson became the world's largest motorcycle manufacturer in 1920, with over 2000 dealers in 67 countries. Wow. They started ten years earlier. Donut is 7 years old. We don't have any factories. A single factory. We don't even have a government contract. We don't even know. Additionally, a new facility was built on Juno avenue in Milwaukee, which still functions as the corporate office center today. I bet there's some nice bars down the street from that place. Oh, yeah, man. We're talking about Juno? Yeah. Yes, the why not three? Is it great? There's also the best chicken wing place in Milwaukee, east point. Dude, I gotta go back. We gotta go. I wasn't invited the first time. It's because I'm not fun. Harley also found marketing success by sponsoring several motorcycle racing teams around the country. Nicknamed the wrecking crew, the wildly popular teams competed against the likes of other early manufacturers like triumph and Indian motorcycles. In the early 20s, one faction of the wrecking crew started having a pig ride on the back of their bikes during the victory laps. That's sick. Fans began to refer to the crew as the oh my gosh. And thus, Harley's became known as hall.

Rep. Reschenthaler Predicts Dr. Oz Will Win in Pennsylvania
"What has happened in Pennsylvania for the Senate. Dear lord, this is your state. I understand that president Trump is friends with Doctor Oz and I get it and I realize he's a dear friend of Trump and he's supported Trump. Was there really no better candidate than Doctor Oz? I'm not saying he's a bad guy. I'm just saying he's got the name recognition, which is great. But he's somehow wrestling with fetterman. He should be Oz should be up by 10,000 points. I don't understand it. What are you doing? Two great points. Oz was the only one in that race that could have gone toe to toe with betterment. And here's why. I've been saying the betterment's totally underrated. He has a star power around Pennsylvania. Unites these burning Bros with working class voters who wrongfully think that he's one of them because they see him tatted off with a beard wearing a hoodie riding a Harley and they just assume that he shares our values. He does not. So to overcome that fundraising ability to overcome that celebrity, we really needed Doctor Oz, any other candidate we would have put forward would have been even further behind in the polls. And it's a little bit of revisionary history to go back and say we should have picked another candidate because all this is the only guy that can keep better men. I think that ultimately Oz wins this race by a slim margin. Remember tuni only won by one or two points each time he won that Senate race. This Pennsylvania after all. And he's going to do it by exposing the settlement hypocrisy. This is a guy that wants to release one third of all prisoners in Pennsylvania. This is a guy that wants to have the Green New Deal and totally eviscerate the natural gas economy. We have particularly around Pittsburgh and western Pennsylvania. And don't forget that he wants to eliminate private health insurance. So this guy's way too radical, Pennsylvania I'm sorry, Mary. No, no, no, I

"Third season, so we've seen the first 6 episodes. We'll be talking about everything up through that. JC, let me start with you. What do you think? When I started watching Harley Quinn, I immediately loved it. And part of it is kind of as you were hinting at Glenn with the clay face, right? The voice acting generally across the board is phenomenal. It's superb. And of course the idea of Harley Quinn stepping out of the shadow of the Joker and kind of becoming her own leader and her relationship with poison ivy, all of it is amazing. It's great. But I think for me, I couldn't help but see it as Batman the animated series all grown up, which is a very good thing in my mind. For in for folks who aren't familiar, as Glenn mentioned, Batman the animated series is where Harley Quinn was basically introduced, and it was a show that ran from about 92 to 95. And for a lot of late 80s and 90s kids, it was kind of the proper Batman. Like certainly for me, it was like, I feel like I was a little too young, like during that time for the Tim Burton films. And I think that this show, Harley Quinn, really taps into that nostalgia. It kind of replicates the darkness of that show into some degree the animation style. Like you can kind of see similarities between their two face, the way it's animated, they're mister freeze, Joker. But it's also way more adult and it has a lot more depth. So like double entendres and sex jokes are aplenty in the show, but also the human drama is real, right? There's breakups and talk of power dynamics and sexual tension, so it's a lot more complex and I would argue that at its core, this is a show without any heroes or villains in the traditional sense, but rather this is a show with anti heroes and their foils. So like Harley is the main anti hero, and you get to see how she's not at all like Batman. They see the world differently. They approach the world differently, but she's also completely and wholly different from the Joker who she used to be attached to. So I think that it takes what really worked about Batman the animated series and what worked about Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad. And it says, what if we use all of this? What if we use this and just other things from the DC Universe to make a story? And I think it does it really well. I'm kind of at the point in my media watching experience where I'm just over superhero anything, which is really sad to me because, you know, like JC, I kind of grew up on these D.C. superhero shows. Like for me, Teen Titans was instrumental. I was a big fan of young justice, which is also on HBO Max these days for the first two seasons. And in high school, I was really into the comics before the new 52 K around and kind of reset everything. But for me, I've always been a D.C. fan over a marvel fan because of the way that they flesh out the women in their series. And kind of the way women are allowed to be heroes and villains, and sometimes neither. And also the way that they let their characters be queer. I mean, Harley is like one of those instrumental queer couples in comics. And, you know, I was willing to give this series a try because I'd heard great things and also because the soft spot I have for the Gotham City siren, which is catwoman, Harley Quinn poison ivy. Oh yeah. And what's great about this show is that this is not a mass market superhero show. And it's all the better for it. It's not interested in holding your hand and introducing these characters to you if you don't know them. It assumes that you know the lore and you're interested in seeing it furthered and I think the character work is so great. I think anybody who knows their DC Comics kind of finds Batman and Joker to be the least interesting people running around Gotham. And so to that end, I'm so thrilled to see all of these D listers like, I think secretly bane is my favorite character. In this show, which is like, what a wild card there in the season, there's this great running joke about a pasta maker. What the hell are you doing here, bane? Very expensive pasta maker for the day. This goes to keep the gift. Yeah, I think I'm just so over superhero shows taking themselves super seriously and I don't want realism from superheroes. I want the silly fight sequences I want powers. I want shenanigans and I think this show is just such a blast because the serious stuff is just like the Gritty mundane details of adult life. Yeah. So this is like a ten out of ten smash for me. That's great to hear. And you said the magic word which is further, which is something with a lot of even comic superhero stuff doesn't really seem interested in doing. I did check this show out first thing early on. Where I think in maybe in the early going, it was still trying to define itself by overcompensating by saying what it isn't. Clearly they wanted you to know it's not for kids. This isn't corny the first minutes of the first episode of season one is this bloodbath on a yacht. That also plays off joker's abuse of Harley for laughs, which, as we've mentioned, it's baked into the character, but yuck. So on the surface, I just thought, okay, this isn't my tempo because I was lumping it in with the cynical nihilistic glib and smarmy school of Deadpool and peacemaker and Suicide Squad, but those properties are lazier. They rely on attitude, which is super. Pretty ridiculous, right? Which is not a joke. It's barely an observation. Here, though, there are solid jokes hard, good, well crafted jokes. And the joke density is often 30 rock level, like in terms of JPM, jokes per minute. It's very difficult to achieve, very difficult to maintain, and before I knew it, I was falling in love with these characters who were depicted in a kind of proprietary, almost artisanal way unique to this series. They're not generic. You couldn't pick any of these characters up and place them anywhere else. They've been crafted to fit this specific version of the DCU, which doesn't feel like any other version of the DCU. Yeah. One of the things that I just respect about the show is that it's not black and white, right? It doesn't insult our intelligence in that way. It assumes that the audience is critical. It assumes that the audience is smart. It holds on to the humanity of all these characters, while also fully embracing the absurdity, right? Of the entire premise behind superheroes. It doesn't immediately assume that the folks with the capes and the folks with the badges are the good guys. And it taps into kind of a real cynicism of our time, right? So because it doesn't fake any reverence for superheroes. Like, for instance, when I watch a marvel movie or something in The CW Arrowverse, you know, you have villains talking about how angry they are and how fueled by rage they are, and still somehow they managed to make it TV PG, and it's like, I'm supposed to believe that you're going to blow up a school bus full of children, and you won't even drop an F bomb. No, I can't stretch my imagination that far. So Harley Quinn, I think liberates its characters to be who they really would be, and I just really appreciate that. Reverence is such a great word because there is a lot of reverence also for the criminal justice system baked into comic books and this show is like supremely anti copaganda. Yeah. Also, to the extent that there are no heroes, I think there are no smart people either. Like everybody's just kind of an idiot. Yep. And that makes it really great. I think especially the way they treat commissioner Gordon as just this washed up self absorbed man. I ate that up, man. Chris maloney, who voices commissioner Gordon, found something. It's a radically different take on the character we've ever seen, but it also hits at the core of who he is in the comics. There is a sadness, a schlubby Ness to him that is just kind of turned up to 11. And Alan Tudyk just pelt this guy with Emmys and awards because he's perfect. I think the choice of Harvey guillen as nightwing, I really like that performance. I would stipulate that it's more a Tim Drake personification than aimed at grace and precipitation, but that's a question for another day, but let's talk about Belle as poison ivy. Oh man. In this last season, especially, she has really leaned into a naturalism with her dialog. But here's a clip where she's talking to Harley and Torah fries who is mister freeze's widow about a plan to go to New Orleans. It's hard to explain. Is he hot? He's like vines. Swamp thing is so powerful. He could, oh, by the way, he could find Frank through the green, like easy. A couple things. That's Rachel dratch as norah fries. This is such a great voice cast. But that moment where she's like, oh, by the way, it's a level of off handedness and casualness that it typifies the series. Again and again, you see it. Yes. Of course, some of your favorite vocal performances. Yeah, I mean, the clay phase is fantastic. Color me shocked. I'm still out here riding for bane who is really like every single scene he's in. I'm like, get me more bane. The great James adomian is doing bane's voice and he's fantastic. As I said, voice acting, you know, across the board is amazing. I feel the same way Serena feels. But about king shark. Ron funches as king shark. He's one of the highlights of the show for me. It's Ron funches, right? So he's like relatable and unassuming and charming. I'm guessing you're the one having trouble finding a nemesis. Well, we put the profile up and we're not getting any bites. Is that a shark choke? If so, it's very funny. Let's go. I feel like king shark is almost a paternal figure to Harley's group in a way, very Linda belcher, I'm all in for whatever you're doing kind of vibe, just like I'm there. I think that's just one example of how all the voice work is just spot on. Yeah. Now, this show is famously off on its own weird corner of the TCU. And Warner Brothers kind of lets it be for the most part. Do you ever think about how this show fits into any other D.C. properties or are you happy with its being its own weird thing? I'm so happy to see it stand on its own. I think we need less interconnected media properties, you know? I don't think this needs a spin off. I don't think it needs to tie back in to anything else. It's doing great on its own because it has its own lane to drive in. I think if you connect that road to a highway, even one is fun as the Harley Quinn highway, you know, I think that's the road to disaster. Yeah, no, I agree. I think one of the things that it does and it does really smartly is that it uses the scraps. It uses actual characters from the DC Universe that are absurd. Maybe they were one offs or a short lived or not main characters and not household names. And Harley quin is like making this stew, making this gumbo, and it's like, you're just throwing that out, you're throwing that character out. No, I can totally use that. So it finds a place for someone like kite man or the Queen of fables or calendar man who's like in some ways a running joke in different things. And it's just like the creators of the show are saying, wait, this character makes no sense? Of course it makes no sense. None of this makes sense. So let's just have some fun. Let's just make a show. Oh, Jesse, that's exactly it. Because look, kite man is ridiculous, isn't the punchline of the joke. Here it's the premise of the joke. You take the trouble of fully imagining a world in which kite man is a thing. You give kite man a personality that reflects that his thing is gliding. And from there, that gives you access to so many different kinds of jokes as opposed to leaving it this power sucks, which isn't even a joke. Anyway, we already mentioned the kind of gray area the show works in Harley Quinn's arc over these three seasons. She's always been an agent of chaos more than malice, even in the comics. But she is taking on an arc now that is closer to the kind of catwoman ally, sometimes ally sometimes anti hero arc. How does that strike you guys? I think I found it interesting the way that her arc is a foil to poison ivy's arc, where the first two seasons poison ivy's very much like I'm not part of the crew. I'm not even really a villain. She's like, I'm just an environmental advocate. If you want to call that villain ring, go right ahead. She's trying to enact one of her first big plans to terraform Gotham. And so it's interesting to me to see the tension built into their relationship from that sense that Harley is moving more towards heroism and I needs moving more towards villain race. So I think I don't really care to see Harley purely in the capital H hero lane. But as their plans intersect and maybe bisect, I found that really compelling territory. And so, you know, I don't mind that Harley's growing some angel wings. The first thing that kind of comes to my mind when you ask that question Glenn is like, that's life, you know? When I think about my own life, you know, there's some moments where I'm like, man, I did that thing. That's not great. You're a bad person for doing that, JC, but then other times I'm like, you know, I'm a real hero. Like today I'm a hero tomorrow I'm a Dylan. That's the way it goes. It makes these characters more than just the sum of their parts. It lets them explore what it means to be human. And on that note, let's speculate on the future of the show. I think it's found its groove and serenity, your point, like hardly an ivy's relationship is at a fascinating point. The show has rapidly become about their relationship. So I want to see more. What do you guys think? Are you fearful? Are you hopeful? I think one of the worst things about Batman and Batman adjacent properties always getting canceled is that the thing I want most about them is the extended bat fam. So now we get nightwing this season. We get batgirl. There's a world in which we get Cassandra Cain, there's a world in which we get huntress. I love all of those B list C list characters, and I want to see more of them. Yeah. I will say that in a sense I'm optimistic because of what we've said of this being kind of on its own. It's less a property and more of a sandbox, right? It's not a place where D.C. or Warner Brothers would build or could build anyway. It's a place to come and play. It's a place for fans to come and say like, oh, what if, but it is, in a sense, something that's just allows these characters to come together and play in a way that hopefully Warner Brothers can just leave it alone and say, you know what? There are people who like this, you know, let's just, let's leave it alone. Let's let them

Breaking Down the Reason for the Britney Griner Conviction
"Brittany griner, her excuse was that she has medical marijuana and she decided or she accidentally left the marijuana in a bag because she was packing in an expedited fashion. She was rushing. And any man in America knows. Let me just explain it like this. Don't get mad at me. Women, they have a whole bunch of stuff to pack and they get crazy when they pack in all kinds of stuff. I can see how a woman can forget a vape pen or whatever in a luggage. However, Brittany griner is a man, or at least in her relationship she looked like the man in the other girl looked like a girl. So her masculinity makes me believe that she aligns more with men and you know men we ain't packing Harley anything. It's no way we gonna accidentally put a pen in there because we only got 5 shirts in three underwear. And we gone for a whole month. Women got makeup in there. And if they time them up correctly, they gotta put them things in there. And so you got a whole bunch of stuff that women are packing. But Brittany griner, she dressed like a dude. She acted like a dude. She's probably not packing that much stuff.

"If you're just looking at exactly exactly the spot he has to take is filled by someone who's already a really solid defenseman who we don't have any shakiness there. So he'd have to be substantially better than than than the bottom then the five and six guy honestly in my opinion to to break into being a defenseman for us but it next year he definitely could be. We still have guy signed on short contracts for defenseman. He's definitely a great defense show. He's a good puck mover. scored a lot of points. What was his. I pulled his I was actually shocked at how much he scored twenty five points in three games as a defenseman with texas last year which is honestly crazy. Good but there's just no way for him to go on the lineup right now so i would love to see him too but he can't go anywhere right and i. I totally agree with that. Just because there is no spot for him on in the lineup Even if the numbers if he's the seventh best defenseman he's not playing manageable but not worth seven right. And i mean that i mean. It's pretty much already stacked the defense. It's meteorologist In the league. In my opinion it's at least top. Ten right agreed. The the young guys i can take that. But but like the retool that we were talking about like as soon as been sagan. Reggie love filthy. those guys are gone. Harley is gonna be a a big guy in the next team which is it like. It's not coming in five eight years. It's coming three years when this new team is going to be here so it's really cool to see that our team is great right now and has the prospects coming up at the same time. It's it's really really great to see that from now is done well to keep a championship contending team and keep his prospects as well. He's done really well. Right and we give him crop sometimes for Deserves scrapped the goalies. He's an idiot. That's chris. that's curses idea about the whole situation. But it's stupid but you know. He gets some crap for the for the scouting that he doesn't the drafting that he does. Like a quantum idea. Chris that you know you can be. You can be great in stupid at the same time as a link. "Is that a trade. You would make or run the other way make now. Yes the white house. Because thomas hurdle had. Let's see how many forty three points in fifty games last season. Basically a more points than all four of them combined right so especially right and especially right now in a win now situation which we are. I mean this is this is this is the first. So yes e- you sacrifice the future for at brought to tell you how much i can't wait for damiani to come. In i don't think the straddle happen but it it was proposed. You'd have to say yes. That's a crazy good trade. I don't think they'll ever happened though agreed. I i don't think it would happen either. Badges thought it was interesting. Because you know coming. Our way is a top six forward you know. San jose is not even though they keep saying they're they're a playoff team and they're gonna make the playoffs you know. Nobody is known as projecting them to make the playoffs. They're bad so the only thing that i would be hesitant to give up is Riley damiani i mean. He had a great year as a rookie in the a jones. Stuff like that but at the same time he he kind of blossomed That's only good year. He's had so we don't really know his ceiling yet. If that makes any sense. I mean he could go to san jose Fifty score for all. I know and that would really suck but i would still do it. If if i'm jim now i'd pull the trigger on that trade hundred percent saying trying to be a championship team. That's the contrary you'll make not not trading for a washed up goalie in having four goalies on your roster but you know. That's that's just me thinking that though. Little sarcasm from christians very good. Okay so this is kind of this is kind of a good segue talking about riley. Damn yanni okay. So the main part of our podcast tonight. We wanted to talk about is young guys in the dallas stars organization. So right now. There are three players that you know we could probably consider that could possibly make the opening night roster and be a regular in the lineup. They're just being nice. Twitter doesn't always work. you know so i. i kind people's but it is. I just cannot believe that that they did that. It's absolutely hilarious. And i just wanted to see more of that. In for for the carolina hurricanes social media team. Whoever runs that that account is always will be the grady gray social media manager in the history of forever just all the facts that they do in their constantly. Trolling everybody and they've always got great content that they that they put up so Hopefully the new stars social media. Manager courtney We'll be something like that. And i've enjoyed the stuff. She's put on So far for the stars content so anyways to to get. Let's get past the trolling stuff a little bit. So if The way that offer sheets work is that if a player is in a restricted free agent. Right they can sign an offer sheet with a team that does not radically mean that they go toward to that team gay. They still belong as property of their former clubs. So in this case kotkin. Niamey is still property of montreal. Canadian of the canadians all right. But if he signs the sheet that he if The montreal canadians except the sheet as it is that means that he would then become property of the carolina hurricanes now what carolina has to give in return in retribution for signing kotkin. Yemi is a first round pick in a third round pick. I don't know what year it would be exactly. I believe it would be the corresponding year. So the upcoming year but coming years okay. So it has the upcoming year so he they would get they would have to give up a first and third so the big question right now and they haven't so Friday at five pm to decide if they will take that first round in third round pick or they will match the offer. Sheet signed Kenya me to that. Six point one million dollar contract If if your mark levin the gm of montreal canadian's chris. As hard as i never that much money. But i mean a twenty one year old guy who shows that much potential. That's also very hard to let go. So i i'm glad i'm not getting that position pretty much what i'm going to say. "These animated series that are much more animated movie series that are much more human oriented like human ordinary experience types of things focused and i think all of the stuff that harlequin is going through the poison. Ivy is going through gives you that background of something. That is a joyful experience to see them figure out. That isn't going up against the titans of the hero world or whatever right like it isn't universe defying expectations. just buck. who am i and what does that mean. And how do i figure that out. And also what am i going to do about dinner later and i love that and then said when you mash all that up with some ultra violence and some foul mouth profanity. That's my jam right there. It's so interesting too. Because i still remember from the very opening line of the animated series when it was a captain raising glass and saying my fellow whites the second i saw that frame i was like oh this is this is. This is my show. I'm gonna like this. I'm gonna like this and then it ends in a rousing cry of fuck the poor and then you're like okay definitely my show definitely my show. It's so interesting. Though how this show is so specifically tied into certain messages as well about capitalism and misogyny and a lot of the things that this particular podcast is all about. And i always have found it so fascinating that harley quinn is the character represents so many different things as an lgbtq plus icon as everything. But she is. Why do you think that there's been this explosion of so many different aspects of media that focus on her right now. Do you think it's because of the way that she is crafted in terms of her social justice messages or the way that narratives are constructed around the think. It's in indeed like how things are changing currently especially with newer generations. How harley quinn was portrayed in the beginning was very from a very misogynistic like very meal gaze point of view whereas now she's involved to being her own character like we all mentioned the she can carry a whole movie. She's the main show for a lot of people and they've made her more independent and have her literally. Honest screen tried to pry loose from that male gaze character world that was bestowed upon her in the nineties. thousands so this whole independent woman independent person. Just going out there doing what you want to do for yourself. Character arc is very liberating m very up to date with how young girls nowadays wanna see themselves as well. they have something that they can actually latch onto. Learn from. "I highly recommend that for anyone who is interested in introducing the younger generation to harley quinn. I highly recommend. Also stephanie phillips new reboot of harley quinn. Future state. Amanda conner in jimmy poem. Yati also had a wonderful run of harley quinn as well that i also love but right now what. Stephanie phillips doing i think is absolutely amazing to have a really strong female writing voice on the character which we haven't had before and i think that's really powerful and i'm really happy that the comics industry has kind of stepped up to the plate with that and with birds of prey. I was so so happy to see birds of prey and all of the various team members the way that they came together in that film. I wonder though how the rest of you process that film comparatively to suicide squad or to something else. Was it what you were expecting. It's a much better. I think anyway. It's a much better film than suicide. Squad suicide squad is a lot of fun. Billy makes fun of me. Because i love the soundtrack from that film. Because it's basically the soundtrack from our high school days. It's like nineties dance. Yeah it is. It is great. Don't tell on me. I would but i enjoy watching that movie. It's really fun. But if you strip the soundtrack out of that movie. I think you go it lose a lot of enjoyment from it but the most fun thing about suicide squad is the music and the one liners and watching harlequin. Beat the shit out of people. There's not a lot more to it and birds of prey is in a whole different tier films. That genuinely good movie in. It doesn't need that crutch like well. It'll tap into your nineties. You'll enjoy it in that kind of thing. I think with both movies. What is noticeable that it they didn't give harlequin top billing basically but she carries both movies completely on her shoulders. 'cause people watch suicide squad because of harleys main look in. She was portrayed new trailers everything and people went to birds of prey. Not for the birds of prey but for harley quinn. And what i find interesting about the timbers thing is a lot of conversation today is how accurate to the comics or the movies that were watching. How true to the characters are out his cannon. Go along and i really liked the idea that the timbers was this creation factoring for characters that became beloved comic characters. But they're not from the comics. I think that's a really cool thing. And then so when you see harlequin come on in suicide squad or birds of prey. Does it have to be exactly the same as everything else has gone before. An important fact. The movies are often doing things that are way more interesting with their characters. And they sort of wind up being shoehorned into in some of the comic book moments which isn't dislike off on comics but that wealth of creative input in the different mediums does add something to the characters so you get to see with the timbers this creation i think a very fun character and then fast forward twenty five years or whatever and then you get to see margot robbie take harlequin from suicide squad. Two birds of prey. And it's just really this amazing transformation of a character. So i guess i'm within yellow in terms of falling in love. I find her very compelling character once you get to the margot robbie era. But i think she's a very fun character always around like i've slept for giant mallet that she carries around and i think it's great that they get to show that in birds of prey to. Yeah i love that giant mallet. I also love the baseball. That iconography to yeah. It's really a wonderful thing when you get to explore that. But i'm also going to speak up for the comics here. Because obviously i love what dini and tim did in terms of everything with the animated series since that was the genesis of harley on the whole but what they did in terms of the comic books with her was really an extension of what they were doing on screen that got a little darker and a little more sadistic in certain ways than it was on screen. And then when carl kessel picks up the run of harley quinn. He has harley in poison ivy. Take up together in this wonderful partnership in the comic books that i really fell in love with and i have to say in terms of my relationship to the harley quinn comic books. It wasn't until karl kessels. Start of harley quinn's adventures where there's even a sequence where harley quinn goes to hell and there's all kinds of amazing things that happen. That's what i really started to fall in love with what this character was in a larger sense and so now i feel like there are so many different people doing so many different things ravi already mentioned har- lean. We've also had the young adult novel breaking glass which is fantastic..

The Vet Told Me My Cat is a Pothead
"The vet told me. My cad is a pothead. The cats out of the bag harleys pupils darted back and forth. it was almost like a brain was vibrating. She stared out the window. But i could tell she wasn't really looking at anything. It was like when someone stares off into space. Lost in a daydream. I tried to snap her out of it but she was completely oblivious to me. I called her name and waved my hand in front of her face trying to elicit some sort of response. Nothing my attempts at snapping. Her back into reality went unnoticed by her. She continued to drift away to some other galaxy. It was as if she was looking right through me. I panicked and grabbed her carrier as quickly as i could and shoved her in. She didn't even put up the fight. She normally would iran. Pass my husband on the way to the car. I could barely tell him what was wrong without tears. Welling up in my eyes. My body's reaction to the fear and overwhelming emotions that fill towards the possibility that my little peanut was in some sort of danger. Thank god for nine lives. It's important to mention that my cat has burned through at least five of her nine lives. And it's only by a miracle that she still has a tale. Oh though it has a permanent seat curve now but those are stories for a different day despite living in a rural area where it seems like nothing is close by. My vet's office is a quick five minute drive and for once harley decided to use one of her nine lives during normal business hours. How nice of her. Typically these trips involve a forty five minute drive on a saturday night to the only open for emergencies. The vet was able to see her immediately. Or maybe i just barged in and budged. I am not sure when something is wrong with my baby. I tend to block out everything around me and go into crazy mom owed. She's just high. After a brief examination in which nothing appeared to be wrong. Doctor huber asked me. Did she get into anything any catnip. Maybe that's when it dawned on me. We have catnip growing outside and as you can imagine you know since she is a cat. Harley loves

"This podcast was inspired by mike. Who sent me an email. Asking are true mysteries of the pacific northwest. Nothing more than urban legends inspired by a book. I checked out from the rogue valley metaphysical library and trying to answer that question. The book was written by an authority. Who shall remain nameless. Then there's urban legend about elvis presley giving a harley davidson motorcycle to actor james dean. Well sorry. none of these happened before. I reveal my favorite urban legends. I need to explain how i separate real and true from something invented by a person with an ulterior motive or an urban legend occasionally. I do find a witness or participant to an event that can't be explained away and are willing to talk about it but that's the exception not the rule. Most people are reluctant. Admit that they saw ghost or heard strange laughter when they were home alone for fear of being ridiculed. When event is brought to my attention or intrigued by a story on the internet my search for sources begins.
