"In town over the weekend was the PGA at Harding Park and a local kid or Cal grad. I should say, because I don't know where he lives or where he's from. But Colin Morikawa won the PGA and he's a Cal grad so and he just graduated last year, So that's amazing. Congratulations. Well. Pretty. Yeah, That's Yeah, That was kind of worth a mention. And congratulations, kid. That's Yano. Yes, Yes, it is. But you know, sport athletes Sure that's there in the when you're at your best when you're young. It's not until later asked Tiger Woods when the back starts to go like right again back, right? All right, so onto the stories of the day one includes 1/4 a parent's air. Still still not sure how school's going toe look. Most school districts have been scrambling all summer. And you figure well, that's months, but the scrambles been on trying to figure out whether a you're going to bring people back to school and how and be whether you're goingto teach online. And how and then some are like, Well, we could do this until we could hit these numbers this you know, the state says we can come off the watch list, and then you can come back and then And you know that I've been party to a couple of these conference calls where the first question is. Well, if they come back, and then they get back on the watch list. Are you going to send the kids home, So it really is a questionable year ahead as parents. We're trying to prep for this. In our case. I know for sure. We start in two weeks and we're starting fully remote. So Hopefully you have some of this stuff. In your area figured out right? With 1/4 of parents still saying they don't know what's happening. That is frightening. I know that It's actually if we have the kind of options that we have, because if this had happened even you know, 20 years ago, we just You know what? Zoom what? You know what Internet Like, you know, not everybody had access. And still not. Everybody has access is plenty of places where this is. The scramble is we don't have a computer. Or we don't have Internet Asher from because of how we live. I think one of the things one of the saddest things at least in my opinion, I guess it's You know, you decide for yourself if you think this is sad, but I do know there are parents who are saying to themselves. That kid's got to go to school. I can't work like this on DH. And as you know that you'd might say to yourself Well, But don't you love your Yes. They love their kids, but they can't make the money and keep the job in order to keep the kid That's a real tear, because Yeah, it's how is this gonna happen? How are we gonna pull this off? Right? So 1/3 of parents say their kids are doing full distance learning the quarter of parents say their kids are going back in full time. Another 20 year saying that there's a hybrid deal in place. I know that there are parents who would love to say My kid's not going back, but also have tto have their kid go back, right? So Expect turbulent month ahead is AH I really feel like it's going to be Date one day at a time for awhile for everybody, just, you know, trying to get the bedtime that night and Right safely. Another thing I wanted to mention is because we brought this up last week and I just checked pulled up their website and by the way crispy cream has a delicious website. But I guess this is teacher appreciation week. Where you Khun, go in and get a free donut and coffee? Yeah, you mentioned that and there's also I think it's Tuesday. So tomorrow the 11th there's Ah Baya doesn't get a dozen and they're They're hope, I guess is that you'll give the does the free dozen To a teacher, you know, or ah, classroom that maybe just, you know, getting started again or whatever. That's another weird situation, a little freakier appreciation thing, right? And I know they're going. They have a tough year ahead. Dealing with parents. I mean, that is just as I look at this one. So here's our words. They're kids, right? These air sort of related As we were talking about school, and some are going to be learning fully remote. There's a school district and Illinois that has banned Pajamas. During their remote classes. Oh, so, yeah, I'm putting it on. Yeah, we have. We're asking that you dress your kids for school that is school. And we want your kids dress. So this was in Illinois. Ah Handbook, the new one says kids are not allowed to wear pajamas while doing classes online at home. And as usual. It seems right now, because we all have access to a computer and a chat room. Some parents are losing their bleep over it. And I sort of feel like I don't know what we're teaching our kids when we push back on every G d thing, right? I mean, that's what we're gonna have. We're going to have a society full of hostility. But the there's aton of people who are like You can't tell my kids what to wear in my house. And you just go. Jesus Christ. That's what you need to fight about. Well, To be honest, I feel like that's what you're worried about what the kids are wearing on the friggin, You know, one by one inch zoom thing.

"Here at TPC Harding Park. We go out to John McGuinness. Where Tony fee now at 8 30 feet below the hole and beautiful putt, just grazing the right lip. We'll just tap in to save his part. He's at eight under par. He's playing alongside Bryce into Shambo, who missed the grain left at this massive bar three and then chucked his chip didn't get it on the grave is a matter of fact. He's in the first cut of rough. He has Potter out, and we'll have every bit of 18 or 20 feet for his Homer. So two shambo in trouble here at the difficult part three. Just when things started to go completely Bryson's way there A chunk little pit shot. And He is still in some trouble here. The putter out now, John No, it's not too much different than the rest of us. You chunk won. It's time to put the next one in it. Putting from the rough. Insert your joke here. This is actually 30 feet. Upon further review. Gets that onto the grain came up plainly, almost never get this one to the hole, though. And that one's actually it got whole high just to the left heel tap in for a bogey. There's no shame in bogey at the eighth hole. It's a 257 yard, par three. In this case it cost Bryson A piece of the lead. No shame in putting from the rough, either with the number of different clubs, either. Whatever it takes, whatever you're comfortable doing, Whatever you know, and you feel comfortable. You've got a reasonable chance of getting it up and down. By using that shatter that club. That's how you need to approach that. That was one of the themes. Bryson with the short wedges because they're all the length of a six iron, we go to Dennis Paulson. Out here. Scotty. Chef are just hit his pit shot out of a very thick like gets it on the green. It's tracking towards the whole This is actually pretty good. Inside six feet, maybe even inside five. But that was pretty good. I can tell you that I couldn't see his golf ball from the left side of the green. It was such a thick lie, and Scottie almost stepped on it and when he came back to it, he was very careful to creep up on it. So that's a really good play for Scotty try to save his part here of the six hole after driving it in the right, Ruff. Beautiful little chip out.

Good morning, Tom and Great weekend at Harding Park coming up and as I said earlier on if you're on yet, but I think the cat is out of the bag that this is our farewell weekend with the weekly show, and we'll kind of get a little more into depth on that's tomorrow, but Thanks for Ah, for being with us this morning. And you have, like, I don't know 15,000 times and you've been you've been late. Like once. I'll do the math here and figure it out. How many times But you are. You are the king of awesomeness. Let me just leave it at that. A tongue as good Maurin. Mitch? Yeah. What happened? And he said that you were late once. Do you remember when he was watering his garden? Five minutes before we went on the air. I want to know who who selected Originally The Peter Jacobsen on the jukebox. Tell our listeners that story, but I'm not sure I even know how he came to be our intro music. I don't know either. But you know, we don't Peter and Mark line. I grew up together Who's in the band? And I said, kind of kiddingly. Once at the Ah, at the golf writers dinner to Peter. I said, Hey, You know, we've kinda used your song a little bit. Is that Is that okay? Do we need a Little, uh, little thing. I think it was when that first came out, and they wanted to promote it, and we played it to promote it. And then I don't know. Then we just We just stuck with it because it's just got such a great ring. Do it, Mitch. I know what junk car on that eye. That's exactly how I remember it. And I remember saying something like Should we tell the program Director Bob Wagner that we're doing this with that? Now, let's just go until they tell us to stop. So nobody's told us to stop. So we're going to use it another time tomorrow, I think yeah, and down the hall from the dinner. I think the dinner started at six. And like that five o'clock they have, like a like a intro part. Little cocktail reception. Tio introduce it, and they handed out demo demo discs of it and a couple of the guys were there and Ah anyway, that's ah. That's that's a lot of that history. So ah, but fun, fun, fun stuff so really, really great job tonight. Go ahead for it. No, no. You know, I was just I was just going to say of Tom. You know, coming into this. There were all the storylines. You know, we all knew about Brooks kept good, you know, winning three and his. You know, Jordan needs it for the Grand Slam. Of course, Tiger and all that, and we all knew about the weather. And I think the three of us and most everyone around here knows that those trees out of hurting swallow golf balls, But we got a guy announcing names on the TV and there's no fans there. No fans there yet. Somebody steps on Rory's ball. They're too Zach Johnson's for crying out loud, and I think Phil played at least six holes from different fairways. Infact my count is correct. He was on the fifth fairway three times yesterday. What's what's going on? Harding run made close to broken club won a dead guy, Sandy Tatum, which we'll talk about, and the other from a guy that hits it is heart of anybody, You know, just a very serendipitous week, so Well, you know, we had a whip. But right Rickie Fowler. Ah, with the thought yesterday from six inches and he went home for the weekend. So yeah, I guess if that's any indication of what we have in store here the next two days Little batten down the hatch and hatches. And of course we do know And you guys that have lived it? Ah! San Francisco's major golf history always produces something unusual. Lot of upsets, you know, incredible upset Jack Fleck beating Ben Hogan. Billy Caster is a Hall of Famer. But at the time, you know Arnold Palmer, seven shot leading the U. S. Open nine. The play ends up losing and Scott Simpson upending Tom Watson and so forth and so on. And of course you had The unbelievable Ronit Harding here since Sandy and and the civics on political leaders got together to Teo form the rebirth of Harding Park and Tiger and Daily in a playoff, Onda Presidents Cup and Charles Schwab, Champions Tour, PGA Tour champions and the match play with Rory. You Know, Of course, everything goes back to the city and the history of the San Francisco City. I kind of found it ironic that the city championship, which commenced in 1916 over at Lincoln Park, and then moved to Harding in 1925 on the course was Was first open 1916 the first year of the PGA Championship. So you've got some some good symmetry there and said, Who knows what's gonna happen this weekend, But you missed your point about walking around. A golf course without fans. It it's just silent out there. It's almost like the city Amador final. They're happening right before your eyes where you've got. Maybe, you know, 50 7500 people sort of scattered around the property and then just go out. Or maybe a better analogy would be like, you know, earlier in the eternal, you've got multiple matches happening at the same time and the different flights and men's and women's and seniors and it's just it's different. It's so different when you're out there, but I think the product that everyone sees on television is what makes it still very exciting. And a. I don't care who wins tomorrow and whether there's You know no fans or 50 fans, or, you know 100 people out there. Whatever it is, that person will be remembered 100 years from now. So you're trying to make history here this week. Hey, Tom. You know a conversation I've had with a few people about the crowds. Is that a lot of the guys like the Tiger Woods of the world and Rory McIlroy that are used to playing in front of big crowds. Or maybe negatively impacted a little bit because they don't have that power to draw from, But you have some of the younger players that are a couple of years out of college that are used to playing more. You know ST amateurs and regional tournaments and college tournaments where there is hardly any crowds and Ah, and so that's that to me, is kind of an intriguing Little psychology, Toby to be thinking about. Ah, Andi, I don't know if you've heard much chatter about that with the players in the caddies, but I find that to be an interesting topic. Yeah, it's fascinating, really. And, of course, would go across the board for all sports. It's so unusual. I've been working from home since the restart. And so this is actually my first event being on property and just, you know, just sort of the listeners, of course, understand. Very, very serious restrictions are still in play here about you know who could be on site? I mean, it's truly a bubble. Ah, you know, testing multiple tests for, you know throughout the weeks and it's a very controlled environment out there. So you have volunteers, you know, very minimalist approach there, though, however, and you've got Ah, minimalist approach with the media that air covering it. You've obviously got CBS sports and our partners at ESPN so that that group has been enhanced for this event just based on the coverage. Wall to wall start to finish Thursday through Sunday, but and family members who are permitted to be there, but anyway But to your point, John Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods have not played a tournament in this environment since they were probably five years old. I mean, they're both child prodigy, so they've never played golf without galleries and a lot of attention on them. These are almost like practice rounds being converted into tournament so Let's face it pro athletes in any sport. They want to show their skills They want to show off. I mean, they all know amongst themselves their peer group, how great they are. But once you kind of get over the fact that you're just, you know, playing with.

Is Tiger Woods about to make a putter change?
"Talked again, we talked a good amount about him. He looks great. There's a lot of positive thoughts about his chances this week he warned in Oh five. He won here I think that he never shot higher than sixty eight and then in two thousand, nine, the President's covers here at harding park he went five Oh and so he has good history here he is still the. Reigning Masters Champion. Ugly, Fifteenth. In the world, some are trying to point. So some negatives like he's only played four competitive rounds in six months. I'm not focused on that I. Don't think he gives a shit about that. He showed up to Zozo championship last year in Japan and it felt like we had seen him play golf or any decent golf in months, and he's won that tournament in Atlanta. He showed up to the President's cup. We were there. We were physically there watch the entire thing. Play the president's coverage has several the best players in the world, their best player, the President's Cup in a landslide. So Tiger Woods smile and yet focused I like his chances this. I think he's come a long way since Monday and a lot of people's minds in that. All is incredibly exciting. On. Monday because. If we remember in the last podcast, you said, he really had no chance. That's true. Well, said, he's the favourite. Video and a you know with the weather and everything else that I would write this low on his list Jimi play whatever rig said because it wasn't that wasn't what we said and it certainly wasn't when said he was literally what I just you in you in the New York Post or two peas in a pod newer post tweeted out. Tiger Woods needs a miracle this week at the championship it was like what the fuck is going on and you know rig says similar points new. York Post. I said tiger. Woods is the favorite I said that on Monday show Tuesday show Jake will find that but I just ranked course and the the fact it's fifty five fucking degrees and narrow fairways. Low on the list of tiger woods majors coming up in the next four five years. It's not that hard. Of course, is not the art of course, I gave Frankie thumping already park last night. On the game. So it was like I I I could go out there right now in wooded. So the overall. Well I you know. I didn't realize we were GONNA play a marathon session of golf club twenty, nineteen I looked at the time we're finished up three and a half hours. My back was sore. I couldn't feel my feet like it's not built for endurance I'm just not built for endurance but I smoked you. At harding. Park. So I'm not too worried about art course conditions. By the way, we're not just a heads up just while we're talking about it. We said we were GONNA stream tonight, Thursday you're listening to it but we didn't realize that the coverage goes so late. So we will not be streaming tonight, but we will doing Tuesday Thursday next week. So be on the lookout for that. Last Tiger related thing new putter. About the new potter, he's got the Scott Newport. I think it's like the two point. Oh it's the one with the different weights and couple of different reports about it. Some saying he's definitely putting it in play other saying it's GonNa be a game time decision he. According to Steve Stricker, Tiger really likes it. It's a little longer in length with have been over as much. We can practice as putting a lot more which makes a lot of sense So that would be a good thing for the back and then another aspect of it is that apparently it's got adjustable wait we have heard for decades now tiger. Could just couldn't get the speed right or you know other Greens were little slower than I thought and I guess instead of having to make that adjustment in your fields or in your judgment calls in, you're putting in how hard it he can just tweet the weights and the Scottie, and that's what he likes because you know if the Green Bay speed them up from. Wednesday Thursday early days beat him up from Saturday Sunday whenever he can just kind of tweak the weights part of me going into this feels like well, tiger woods has won thirteen or fourteen major championships with that part of that is the elder wand. That is the thing that he flipped and spun in circles right in front of our faces that ad US bedazzled. Is the horn. Rocks. And any other usage of any other putter is not only blasted, but it's it's him searching a tim trying to find something which means he's not comfortable, and then the other part of me says, it's Tiger fucking. Would you give them a wooden stick? You give them happy. Gilmore's little hockey stick putter. He'll go out there and win because he's the greatest time you give them any driver persimmon would as a matter it'll just go out and win because he's better than everyone else and it doesn't matter So I'm a little torn on the whole thing. But it's Tigers putter. So everybody's talking about basically I'm just praying for success I mean, I do I think it's the right decision and adding and subtracting weights based on green speed that seems Like, if I'm just going to pick up a new tool every time when it's GonNa be different weight I don't think that I'm going to have much accessible but again, I'm not tiger so I'm not so keen on that. But Hell. If he's got confidence conferences key and if he thinks that's going to help them make more. Than you know play with a hockey stick or whatever. You just said you know so. Tricky one, but you were rooting for dagger. But I don't like I. Don't I'm not as doesn't work for me and I'm not a fan. I am not a supportive of the change I want that other potter to just pile up major victories and lurch. You said what I was GonNa say where changing the way day to day on a putter seems like a nightmare scenario I get that stegar woods. He's the greatest Golfer of all time but I need everything in my bag and again I'm not comparing myself to tiger woods but I need everything to be. One way just needed to be the same all the time. So messing with putter way just seems like a crazy idea but again, if he likes it if it makes him comfortable, that's GonNa give them better chances week. Thank God.

"We got a treat coming up. I was watching a lot of the coverage last night on the golf channel with our buddy Brandel Chamblee. And this venue is phenomenal. Harding Park in San Francisco. It is the site of the 102nd PGA Championship, usually the last over all these years, the last The last major now based on covert. It's the first it's completely flipped. And there's so many great stories tonight. We're joined by the president of the PGA of America. Suzy Whaley is with us here on Tiki Interior, CBS Sports Radio Suzy Welcome to the show. How you doing today? I'm doing great. Thanks for having me. It's awesome. I'll tell you what I mean. I lived in San Francisco for a little less than two years. So I know what's comin in terms of the the chili Mornings in the Marine layer, and the shots Not going is far but But can you talk a little bit about Harding Park? I mentioned the last segment that You know, some of the great names can vent Ori the great Johnny Miller. They all cut their teeth there, but to my knowledge, this is the first major, but it's still a historic venue. This is a special place, huh? TV. See, Harding Park is so special and you're right. So long as you bring a ski cap with you. You're good to go, especially in the morning, but to your point so many great players coming out of this area to municipal golf course that anyone can play and And certainly that were thrilled PJ professionals. If that's the case, we look to grow the game. But as far as the championship then you carry Haig has this one ready and I've heard the coverage is well, the ball is not going as far it's chilly out here. But I gotta be honest. As a golf fan is kind of excites me. I get a little more common right. I'm saying you're a golfer to tell him to suck it up and stop complaining about it. You know, Susie, tell us about the challenges of getting this. This tournament off. We all know how Corona virus in the pandemic disrupted our world. And our sports world. Obviously in tow. This couldn't have been easy to make happen. How did how did this process come about? It seems like everything is going according to plan with the PGA and obviously with the PGA of America, and this is just this championship. But tell us about how this came about because it wasn't easy. I'm sure Right? I mean, like so many other businesses, January February for us were great rounds were up, which is how we measure performance lessons were up equipment was up sales and we're on a really high looking toward having a great year. Like other businesses that just came to a complete stop in March. We're already building out at TPC Harding Park for the event because we were scheduled previously to host the event in May. And so creatures were going up in the merchandise tent was going up. Hospitality was going up, and that's when those on the ground that are there for a couple years doing all our golf operations like very beach. That's when it starts to get really exciting, Andan. Unfortunately, for all of us, we are well aware of it hit and the restrictions kicked in place. California wasn't immune to that. And Everything just shut down, and what it forced us to do with the PGA of America is really take a hard book on what was possible. We collaborated with the PGA Tour was so thankful and grateful to have a weekend right now where we get to play the event that the case is based on a great relationship and being sure that week And it just took a lot of vision. A lot of creativity. A lot of thinking outside the box for our championship team about how could me How can we deliver this major to the world in a way that was really The world wanted to see it and as a first major live sporting event since the Super Bowl on it's also an enormous responsibility, but one we're really excited to have Some of the things you know, just as an example the merchandise facility. We've turned that into the player locker room, so we figured the largest player locker room We could probably, you know record books for this. They have your old chair and their own table and And you know, we've got some great tweets from players on that, but it's just been kind of a look in a How can we deliver the experience to fans to people who've never played the game in a way that they feel like they're there? Our partners and our broadcast partners. TBS. ESPN have certainly helped us do that. We can't wait to bring it to the world starting tomorrow, And we love it on the East Coast here because you know, ESPN is gonna gonna have it on Thursday and Friday, and they'll have some early morning coverage over the weekend. But obviously that the big show is on Saturday and Sunday on CBS. It's 4 to 10 Eastern So you know, on the East Coast. It's pitch black out. We're watching golf on Sundays from 3 to 9 Eastern, which is great. You know what I told Susie? Well, the the president of the PGA of America, the 102nd PGA Championship. The Wanamaker Trophy is on the table. Almost. By the way. Do you anticipate that Tiger will go with that new putter? He's keeps saying it's a game time decision. Suzie is going to reach forward. What is he? That brazen Ono? I feel like Tiger gets to do what he wants. And yes, he's brazen God with that, But somebody I should might even use the word reckless. I mean, brazen is one thing to be mean. I'm saying this with a smile. I don't know if I'm playing in a major. I'm not so sure that's the first time a busted out a whole new putter that has weights in it. That seems like a very different way to putt. You know, I can't speak for Tiger, but I can speak as a professional golfer. And if you believe that it's going in the hole with the putter that's in your hand. Yeah, good for you. Yeah, it doesn't matter what it looks like this is it's interesting because this is now the first major of the of the year and it's not usually that way for you all. But you know you're also doing something very unique with CBS. 50% of the commercial breaks will be dual screens, so the golf will be going on in the background while The spots are airing, and so it brings up an important question about sponsorship. And I know you have some great sponsors like a I G and others who have stuck with you. You know, through this TV only very unique first major of the season. You tell us about some of the unique aspects of this tournament this weekend, and we're all looking forward to Guys just such a great point, because that's another thing that really creatively we've had to rethink alongside our partners, and you will see fine age out on the golf course. And we believe that has great value, but also as you mentioned with our partners and dual screens 175 hours of coverage on wire the wire on ESPN plus And so for us, it's really about ensuring those partners who are lazy partners. It's not just for this particular championship, but your membership, 29,000 PGA Professionals and Each of whom is a direct connection to the game, So we certainly want to provide those partners with the value that they see that game the game provides. But we also want to be good partners, realizing we can't host them on site. So the difference really, because when the state of California tours he probably read A few venues will be able to have a very small contingent of Spectators..

"Just ahead on KCBS in about five minutes. How Napa's 2017 wildfire settlement money is coming in handy in 2020 right now, though, at 11 45 here, Steve Baker when the PGA Championship kicks off tomorrow at Harding Park and Golf's first major of the year, Brooks kept a will begin defensive his titles. As the two time defending champion and cap in a golf tournament is kind of like throwing a dart at a board in the dark, But there's certainly a group of in a major. I think that that pool shrink. And you have players who can handle the tough conditions. The guide like Brooke, Capta and Tiger and Justin comma. The obvious candidates. You look at the top of the world ranking and kept you and Thomas I think are obvious co favorites right now, Tiger, certainly in the mix, given he's Tiger and given his history of Harding Park. He also hasn't played very well this year, and he's 44 years old, and it's not the same tiger who started Harding Park so Thomas and kept guard the obvious candidate. You have to go back 94 years to find the last golfer to win three straight PGA titles in Walter Hagen, and he won four straight. As for the lack of fans, the Chronicles Ron Croix Chick on KCBS this morning. Says it will be strange. They've had three pediatric events at Harding. It re opened in 2003 and the two to jump out were you know five when Tiger beat John Daly and No. Nine for the president's Cup. Crowds were massive. They were loud, they were really into it. You know, San Francisco has a rich golf history and I think people had been starving for it. You know, it's been 36 years from 1969 2005 Without a PGA Tour event at Harding. There had been some US opens, obviously at the Olympic club. But so the crowds have been historically very boisterous at Harding for these kind of events, and it's going to be very strange without that is gonna have a different, much less energy. I think It probably will seem kind of odd watching on television. It's similar to what it's been the last eight weeks, but nothing like its been over the years and it's magnified when it's a major. I think with the Chronicles Ron Croix Chick at the Sports desk. Steve Baker, KCBS J..
PGA Championship's biggest questions -- From Tiger Woods' back to Brooks Koepka's game to a fanless major
"And finally, golf's first major championship of the year starts tomorrow. It's the PGA Championship at Harding Park in San Francisco. Tiger Woods is going to be in the field. He thinks it's going to be really weird, not having fans lining the fairways and the greens at a major, that's Ah Unknown. I don't know if anyone and Our generation's ever played without without fans in a major championship, it's gonna be very different. But it's still a major championship. It's still the best players in the world. We all understand that going into it, so there's plenty of energy From the competitive side, but a ce faras energy outside the ropes that is An unknown They'll get that energy elsewhere. Hopefully from that competitive nature, he's speaking about Tiger Jean tees off tomorrow at 10:33 a.m.
Tiger skipping next week's tournament in Connecticut
"We can have a golf conversation without at least mentioning tiger I know that he's skipping the travelers championship next week do you think he probably sits out until we get much closer to the majors yeah I might do my initial follow along with the memorial the Jack Nicklaus tournament it's the middle of July so that's about three tournaments away from now they're going to play as you said next week the travelers championship which is in Connecticut then I believe the rocket mortgage event is in Detroit and then there's actually two weeks in a row where they're going to play at the same course and I at Columbus Ohio they had a tournament cancel in Illinois the John Deere classic so they moved it to actually be out at the course in the moral where Jack Nicholson's courses so they're gonna have to court two tournaments in a row with the same course my guess is tell you to play both of them or at least the official tournament called memorial that'll give him a tournament a month away before the PGA championship my guess is he'll play I I would bet him maybe he'll play twice before the PGA that one and maybe one more before they play the PGA pointed out in San Francisco this year that Harding park so a new course that I'm looking forward to seeing but that's still you know still early August so I would guess we'll see you may play twice as long as he's healthy and my dad is we'll probably see about that event at the memorial in mid

"Welcome back to the golf Saturday morning live from PC Harding, park and really spectacular morning and you've talked about winded couple there. You know, the wind could aid you little bit today, but much much absolute seventeen drivable today. Threes. Drivable. So eleven Petra bloom, joins us assistant golf professional here, and we joked at the beginning that you were, we were part of your interview process, and that you're on the show with us representing Harding, pseudo, if you will from Pebble Beach when you first started here is that a year and a half ago. Yeah. Exactly. Those before it even clocked in for the first time within that year and a half. He just told me before we came on the air. He does all the work here. Nice. He does everything. He's the, the main got. Nice. Yeah. Patrick recognition. I saw on Facebook a photo of you in the interview room at, at, at death page, I guess my first question from you ticking the trip. There is what's, what's the kind of number one thing he came away with in relation to what will go on here at Harding park? Yeah, we'll know what I think, I think first of all, I think the team coming back we were just so excited. I mean really seeing all that and, and in the back. Minds thinking this is this is exactly a year out. I can't he can't believe this is going on at Harding park. It's pretty pretty fun. It was cool walking around the golf course. Beautiful. We, we were just talking about about how this golf course he's gonna look. I'm TV with Cyprus trees, all shadows on my gosh. By that marketing, when you get the blimp shots of the hill. Oh, yeah. Around here, but did anything I don't know if this is the right way to say it. That's a big piece of property with the big infrastructure. And this is a lot smaller than anything scare you, you know, a lot of that's my pay grade. But they've done a lot of planning ahead of time. Right. It's gotta be it's going to be tight and compact. But I think that's gonna add to the edge of the, the environment and the experience for all the Alba guests and fans. It's, it's going to be very intimate. I think for sure we're going to chat with berry Dietsch at the bottom of the hour, he's over doing some research right now about about that part of it. The other question I'd ask you is, is, how is the public play? Way going to be affected the next the next eleven and a half months. I know there's, there's times where you get to a mode where there's lesser rounds allowed in there might be some closures. How's the average golfer gonna notice things changing the next eleven months? Well, sure, yeah. What will first of all, the, the T sheet has been opened up through next spring? So I believe about eight weeks out from the tournament is when we have actually opened the T sheet. So if you wanna wanna wanna play golf in April of next year she March of next year. You can go online right now and book time, I know that the PGA does does have something in contracts for how many days out, they can, they can actually shut the course down. But I think you'll see if you're playing today all all the fairways are narrow and tight like, like they're going to be next next may, maybe the greens are a little bit slower right now. But that's good at least for Mitch and I don't know about you didn't notice that the fairways were a little bit narrower was driving. Especially here on eighteen we say this all the time. I think it's kind of cool, you know, I'm gonna. Read an ad here in a few minutes about this. But see how many rounds you can get in before the PGA because I just think it's so cool, if you don't have a ticket to this. And you're at home watching with your feet up in a libation in your hand, you know, to watch guy hit a tee shot and say, I was out there. I hit to where that tree is the differences. You hit a driver. He hit an eight you know, but that's, that's one of the fun things to do absolately. I mean, that was that was one of the things walking around, Bethpage, and then be able to sit back and watch watch the Gulf on Sunday saying holy cow. I know what that shot looks like you know. And if you can come on play here. I know what that shot feels like it back to the t she just for minutes. Real unique change in that. If I recall it used to be we times out seven days Negga book out eight months that are already pretty anemic. Yeah. There are some advance booking fees more than seven days out, and then thirty one days plus but, you know, I think playing a major venues such as such as Harding park, it's certainly certainly something to consider if you wanna get out here, and when do you think we would start to see the beginning of the corporate tents and things going up in the scoreboards and all of that, you know, I think I think berries, probably to have a little more info about that. Okay. I'm not exactly. Sure, I'm excited to see that actually actually come to be. That's for sure. It'd be kind of fun to come to work. Absolutely absolutely good. Patrick, thanks so much for, for a little time and best elect the next year if you if you worked a professional term. But before you know I went back and volunteer during the t- 'cause I used to work there actually back in. Back in college. Back in two thousand twelve hours I was there for the week. But this'll be a this'll be a I, I know our head head professional has ten plus years experience with the John Deere classic. So he'll be he'll be certainly a point of reference for, I know that with your time here at TC Harding, park, you'll probably rise to be the head of the PG at some point. But if you ever go for another job feel free to put us down on your resume. I really appreciate the call for a referendum. No, don't don't have do that. Okay. Patrick bloom, there is with the tea party park staff here, and again, coming up after the break, we're gonna visit with berry the championship director, who, who will have a lot of answers lot of answers. He's the, the league here, a Mitch the time has changed in spring is here, we talked about the beautiful weather and out water tavern is where you can go if the giants are losing another game eighteen to to you could maybe leave when it's like, I don't know fourteen to one was into it was eighteen to to last night. So so you can leave early and you can go right down the street to atwater to hit the bar to bar. Maybe you might run into there. If he gets out of another game. It's right between oracle part, the new, the new giants name and the chase arena that water is a great place to do your pre-game or your mid game. In this case. It has rooftop viewing perfect for events before or after the games, I like to get there. For brunch on a non non game day. There's actually some parking in the area brunch. Starts at ten AM Saturday and Sunday, you can do the crab cake Benedict or for dinner. Think about their favourite the seafood stew, or fish and chips. Maybe a few officers a starter. So for more info, or a complete men, you go to atwater, tavern dot com, four one five five one two seven one five three John. When I first started reading these ads. It started up saying, well only four hundred fifty eight days left before the PJ championship comes to Harding park now. It's well only about three hundred sixty five days left before the PGA championship. Well comes to TPC Harding park, how many rounds of golf, can you get in between now and?.
