Warriors top Mavs
"The Mavericks welcome back to Luka Dončić, but fell under 500 with a one 27 one 25 loss to the warriors. Dončić had 30 points and 17 assists after missing 5 straight games with a left thigh strain. Steph Curry delivered 20 points and assisted on draymond green's tiebreaking three point play late in the game. Jonathan comeing scored 22 points on 9 of 11 shooting off the bench for Golden State. For a great team to win, needs him out for he needs to move the ball. Everybody gotta have to fill the ball. And that's pretty much what we came out there and do. And that's what got us this win. Dallas played with that Kyrie Irving and fellow guard Tim Hardaway junior. I'm Dave ferry

Irving scores 24 in Dallas debut, leads Mavs over Clippers
"In his first game with his new team Kyrie Irving scored 24 points to help lead the Mavericks past the clippers one ten to one O four. I just felt good to get this debut out of the way. For the first time I ever got traded in the middle of the season. So it was new for me. But I'm excited that I'm here and I just keep things rolling now. Dallas shot 17 of 35 from three point land and led for the entire 48 minutes. Tim Hardaway junior added 19 points Norman Powell led the clips off the bench with 24, Mark Myers, Los Angeles

Joy Behar Says "We Don't Think Biden Is A Liar And A Thief
"Before I go back to what the house accomplished and what Biden was doing. I want to play some audio clips for you. This is your favorite liberal actually probably not, but we'll just say that for the sake of the show, joy behar. Joy behar of the view, this is, see, I want you to, this is what you got to understand. This is very damning news for the Biden administration. Why they're getting it out now, maybe they wanted to get past the election. Maybe they want to let it out before the 2024 election cycle because he says he's running. Maybe that's what they want to do. Maybe they want to sabotage, maybe it's sabotage. Maybe somebody in the Democratic Party wants to throw Joe Biden under the bus. It's fascinating to me that this is coming out now. But here's what joy behar had to say about it in comparison to Trump's raid at Mar-a-Lago, audio clip number two, pop up or Sean. I think that what you just said is right, that there are differences in what happened. Yes. But it's not good. Well, we all know that Trump is a liar and a thief. You know? Who knows? So it's not that big a jump to say that he obstructed and he lied. We don't think that Biden is a liar, and a thief, so we give him the benefit of the doubt. That's partly what's going on. But what I think also is going on, no matter what the truth of it is, will be. They will spin it, bobble head and Marjorie Taylor, and that crowd Matt Gaetz, you think they're not going to spin this that is just as bad as Trump, and so the lie gets out there. People believe it just like that Donaldson person, whatever his name is. What's his name? Byron donalds? I saw him also. He was at the fight on the floor too. He was nominated for speaker at number. By two people. He's the new 15 round. Is that the lying has been so invasive? So ubiquitous. That no one will believe the truth anyway. Yeah, no one will believe the truth, including joy behar.

Biden 'Surprised' About Discovery of Classified Documents
"Hat tip forgot man, this from just the news when attorney general Merrick Garland announced November 18th that he had named a special prosecutor to investigate former president Donald Trump's handling of classified documents found at Mar-a-Lago. The government harbored a fresh secret, what was that secret? Oh. Oh, Joe Biden had his own secret. Joe Biden had taken documents and stored them at the University of Pennsylvania. Just two weeks earlier, Biden's lawyers disclosed to government lawyers on November 2nd. That was just 6 days before the midterm elections. Pause. 6 days before the midterm elections. Is it just me or is it something about the Biden administration, the Biden family and the media that don't want to give the voters information that is prescient to making a decision on who's going to lead the country? It's fascinating, right? A lot of voters didn't get them the information. They didn't know about Hunter Biden's laptop. Very fascinating. And then all of a sudden, the media starts to confirm what we have all known all along, that the Hunter Biden laptop story is indeed a true story. And were it were it reported on by real journalists at the time and it actually was by some real journalists. But if other journalists from the left would have reported on the story, it's likely that Biden would not be in The White House despite the cheating. It's likely that he wouldn't be in The White House. Absolutely amazing. It's amazing how they do this. They had found sensitive government documents with classified markings. They were inside an office at Biden used a pen Biden center think tank in Washington after he left office as president Barack Obama's vice president, vice president. Vice president. When does a vice president have the authority to be able to determine what's classified with declassified and take it with them? We also found out from breitbart that those documents contain information regarding Ukraine. Regarding Iran, it's fascinating. It's fascinating.

The Left Reacts to the Death of Lynette 'Diamond' Hardaway
"Just so you know who the left is. The type of people that we're dealing with and this isn't all Democrats. This isn't this isn't all liberals, but it is certainly the left and some of the nastiness that goes on on Twitter that you'll see if you go on to Twitter. But this is what they, some of them wrote of diamond of diamond and silk. Rest in peace diamond conservatives just lost one of the few black people. They can use to pretend they aren't racist. This from somebody by the name of human ghosts that goes at Apollo in age X Apollo age X so this person obviously doesn't know that they support the party of the KKK and the anti civil rights party. Also the party of Barack Obama who made sure that talented young black students were not able to go to the school that his daughters went to or her daughter went to. Another one, rest in peace, diamond, the newest member of the Herman Cain club. Wow, that's really nice because Herman Cain died as well. He contracted COVID and died of COVID. So that was from Rick havoc at Rick RI K H a VIC. Rick havoc, such a nice guy. I hope they didn't get the jab and I hope they don't end up dying of a blood clot. Anyway, rest in peace, diamond, her real name for all of the conservative white folks who only know her as a paid menstrual show gimmick. She sold herself as is Anita lunette Hardaway. I bet you Trump and most of the right can't even tell you which one was diamond and which one is silk. Here's another one. No vaccine, no sympathy, mega trash. This is from polite southern hell. At. Two O's at the end. Wow.

Ellen DeGeneres Documents Montecito Flooding Amid Emergency
"To rental rain has triggered flash floods all across California. Listen, I watched a video earlier of Ellen DeGeneres, and she was showing she showed this stream that runs behind her house and typically the stream is just really really slow, really calm. This thing looked like the Colorado River raging. So pray for the people inside of California and understand that this has nothing to do with man-made climate change. Isn't it funny because this is what I hear the left talking about already. That's the excuse. It isn't that California absolutely does nothing right now to catch a lot of their rainwater and reservoirs so that they can use the water for farmers and stuff like that. But this is mother nature. This is what this is mother nature. It has nothing to do with man-made climate change. I'm so sick of hearing that. Ellen DeGeneres said in her video she implied that she, she said something to the effect of mother nature is trying to tell us something. Yeah, mother nature is trying to tell you that no matter how many liberal policies you pass in the state of California, you can't do anything to stop, you can't do anything to stop natural disasters.

Left-Wing Sites, Figures Mock the Death of Lynette Hardaway
"I was working on this show this morning and someone sent me this link. And it's from a place called hip hop wired. And the hate of the vitriol, and I really debated whether or not to share this with you, but it it's for us to understand this is how the left this gives us an opportunity. The passing of diamond gives us an opportunity to go inside the demented evil sick mind of the left to understand who they really are. This is the headline on hip hop wired, which happens to be a black centric website. Maga buffoons, diamond and silks, Lynette Hardaway, dead after COVID hospitalization. Twitter states the obvious. Well, first of all, they haven't released a cause of death, and even if it is COVID, okay? Are they doing stories about all the people just dropping dead after getting the vaccine? But there is there is so much evil on this and many of these many of these names you are going to recognize and you just have to hear this. Hip hop wired writing, we couldn't make this up if we tried. Well, that Hardaway, the infamous mega loving and black self hating duo diamond and soakers passed away. She says that what they go on to say it was Donald Trump himself who announced her passing, which he did on true social. For those of you who may be interested Hardaway was diamond. And they're going on to basically slander this woman.

Remembering Diamond of 'Diamond and Silk,' Passing Away at 51
"I want to start out today with something that happened last night, and it is incredibly heartbreaking. And just very sad. We have, we have lost one of the great conservative ladies in America. Lynette Hardaway, and she was one half of the diamond and silk duo. And her sister is Rochelle Rochelle, Richardson. And she was by her side when diamond passed away last night. We don't have a lot of details. And I don't think we necessarily need a lot of details, but diamond had not been doing well. You might remember back in November. There was an urgent message that was posted on social media. Asking people to pray immediately for diamonds. So we don't know what she was going through, but clearly there was there was an issue, and many of the leftist in the media immediately pounced. Diamond was a friend. And we're going to miss her a lot. I think the movement is really going to miss her. They did a lot for this nation, diamond and silk did. They were devoted to president Trump, but I think they were really devoted to the agenda, not just the man. And as a result, I think that really endeared themselves to a lot of people, and especially in if I may, as of as a white person, I believe that those two ladies, those two black ladies, did more than anyone else to bring minorities into the Republican Party into the make America great again movement. And I think that we owe them both a debt of gratitude.

"Xavier at marquette inside Travis deaner forum. Kim pump has it Xavier minus one. You can watch it on FS1. Xavier favored on the road against marquette. Very interesting. That's interesting. So we go by when we do the show on Friday mornings, the lines for Saturday and this was a Sunday game. And they have not come out yet. I think this is going to be a situation where X is favored on Ken palm, the line is actually going to be marquette minus one when it comes out. It could be wrong, but I think because of the win streak, the public will actually want to bet marquette to win this game. And so the golden eagles will be favored. But for the purposes of this podcast, we are going by the projected line at Ken Pam dot com. Xavier's only losses, neutral Iowa state and to Villanova twice. I'm not going against marquette here. I'm going to go marquette to win. And technically for these purposes it would be straight up. But Xavier salad, I think this could be a really, this is the best game of Sunday, by the way. For an NFL divisional round weekend, this 2 o'clock tip on Fox Sports one, it's only this, and then the lead in to the playoffs on CBS, Michigan plays at Indiana. We're not picking that game just a heads up. The CBS basketball game on Sunday, Michigan and Indiana, that's interesting just to see if Indiana can continue its momentum after the win on Thursday night. For those the only two you really need to know about real consequence I feel on Sunday. I will take our cat into cover and Justin Lewis to continue to be awesome. He's been their best player in the most important player of the season. But Daryl Marcel has also been has also been pretty critical of the Maryland transfer and he I expect him to show up well in this game as well, close one, our cat ones. Marquettes on the verge of the top 25 and one, this could push them there. It should push them there if they win. There'd be a 6 game winning streak. They would improve to 7 and 6 in the first two quadrants with zero additional losses. Right now they have 5 quadrant one wins. That would take them to 6. Stakes are pretty clear. Marquette wins, they go to the top 25 and one, you agree. Yes. Travis DeNA forum should be electric, given that the proud golden eagles are coming back home after a really nice win at Villanova. It's just a lot of stuff to deal with, don't you think? It's a ton. It's a lot of stuff to deal with for Xavier. I think market wins and covers. Wrong team favorite. If we're saying Xavier's favored, it's a wrong team favorite situation. Yeah. We're on the same page again. It's a hard to catch you if we're often on the same page. Be intellectually honest. Pick the team that you actually think is going to cover here. I don't want to be honest anymore. If you want to switch a stop for next week and you make the first pick and I and so I you pick first. I'm going to pick whoever I think I'm not going to try and do and have any gamesmanship with it. So it's up to you. You see we're being honest has gotten me, don't you? Yeah, it's got me to auburn Kentucky on the sideline on Saturday. How about that? I never thought of it that way. I never thought I'd never thought of it that way. All right, so we both got we both got marquette with the win. Reminder, if you're watching this on YouTube, if you're watching it live or if you've come later in Friday or Saturday morning, do tap that like button and smash it. You can smash it. Yep. You can fashion it for sure. We appreciate you so much, and thanks for helping us to continue to grow the channel. This was and is the first college basketball podcast ever to go to video. Not enough people talk about that. Tell the people in Indiana. Let them know. It's actually my first is actually the first podcast to ever be on video. We are the first two people to ever make a video. Okay. Folks don't realize that. We're the first people to ever be on video. We started doing it a few months ago, and now Adele's doing it. To announce cancellations. Before I give you my own how about, how about you give us a little heads up before you cancel your residency, then we'll go easy on you. Can't cancel the day before and then be like, oh, easy on me. You know what? There we go. Oh. You know what? I don't know. I don't know. I don't know if you deserve for us to go easy on you Adele. Before I get to my game, which is a fun one, mid major special. Here's what you need to know the rest of the week. Friday night, Illinois will play at Maryland at 7 eastern Kofi coburn is not going to play in that game. He did not travel with the team. There have been reports that he has had he suffered a concussion. No cobra and at Maryland, probably figured Illinois is going to win that, but maybe it's a little tricky little close. The big game of Friday is Michigan state at Wisconsin 9 eastern Fox Sports one. It's the 150th time these schools have met. Who do you think leads the all time series GP? What game? Oh my gosh. Michigan state of Wisconsin, 9 eastern Friday, Fox Sports one. I think Wisconsin leads the all time series. You're very wrong. Michigan state 83 66. I thought the only reason you would ask that is because it wouldn't be the obvious answer. Got into twisted year around. That's right. That's a wonderful Big Ten matchup there. And both those teams are tied to top the league ledger. That's a Friday game. We are not picking it. I'm letting you know Saturday, the ones where you're not paying pick Friday games. I thought about it. I was like, that's not something I do. That is a really good game. We'll be still be locked into it. West Virginia, Texas tech noon eastern on ESPN2 kind of feels like West Virginia. You might win that one. Just a little bit of a hunch. Florida state at Miami is a two eastern tip on Saturday on ESPN, really nice game between a couple of bubble teams and I'll be intrigued to see what Miami can do after beat North Carolina earlier this week. Kansas will play at K state for eastern ESPN+. If case data is actually going to try and be a bubble team coming out of the big 12, and that leads to try and send 9 to the tournament, which I don't think is going to happen. Winning at home against Kansas would certainly give us another plot twist there. You went C, at wake forest, 8 eastern. ACC network Saturday night, Steve Forbes on track to return for that game. He did not coach and wake forest his game earlier this week. UNC is in a tough spot here. Hubert Davis probably thankful that penny Hardaway is a mess right now with Memphis. Because Hubert Davis might be cut now. I'm not saying he deserves it, but Carolina fans I think are a little bit just got a little bit of anxiety over how bad their team is away from home and now they're gonna go play at the Joel and that arena is going to be rocking wake forest trying to make the tournament for the first time in an eon. A and M at Arkansas 8 30, Saturday night SEC network a couple of bubble teams out of the SEC. Winner's gonna be in a much better spot than the loser in my opinion in that spot and M is yet to prove to us they've got one real win of legitimacy. And then two more on Saturday. At Colorado, 9 eastern PAC 12 network, parish has no shot. And then good, good, great. Mid major game. I almost picked this one. Boise state at San Diego state is a 9 30 tip on CBS Sports Network. Boise state is one of the hottest teams in the country GP..

"But I'm gonna do it with some hesitancy because I'm a believer in UK, UK is actually fourth in Kampala as I talk right now. So there were some movement overnight with the results there. So only two spots separate these teams. I am weigh in on Kentucky and it's ceiling. It got to win on the road, by the way, since we last talked at Texas a and M kind of one ugly. First time the season, Kentucky didn't have a margin of at least ten points in a victory there. But offensively, high level teams, still very good on defense. This should be a very well played game. These are a minus or better offenses and defenses. The battle between Kessler and Oscar Shibuya I think is going to be tremendous. What Kentucky does to try and offset jabari Smith will be intriguing and I think there's a chance that if auburn does win this game, which is one of my pick, win and cover, that maybe you see either when del green have another really nice game. Maybe he's the star coming out of it. Katie Johnson has had no shortage of moments. Maybe it winds up being him. You know? Zep Jasper do we have a kind of situation where it's a truly unheralded player that comes up big in a big spot? I don't know. I just can't wait for this game. Give me the tigers to win and to cover and to get to 1801 and doing so. Yeah, I would respectfully disagree that this is as big as that Memphis versus Tennessee game. First off, it was February not January. It was one versus two. One of the teams was undefeated, and therefore trying to become the first undefeated national champion since 76, which seemed, you know, possible, given that if they get by Tennessee, they're not going to lose a common USA game. And then if they win the national championship, they would be undefeated national champions. They of course finished the two laws team because they lost a Tennessee and lost to Kansas. College game day was there that morning. It was for a while and still might be the highest rated college basketball game ever on ESPN. I think that's true. And as media availability, he said he thought it was the second highest since that or something. So it's really up there. Right, yeah. So this isn't that, but this is unbelievable. You know, because you've got an auburn team that really might be playing to move to number one in the AP poll money. Let me ask you this. If all been beats Kentucky, can you envision them jumping Gonzaga? I thought about this last night. I actually can. If I do too. Particularly if it wins with some authority, then you might have you might you might have some voters that might have had auburn two, three or four, go to one, and then there were only four total points. That's the thing. Sarah. So here's the thing. People think of it broadly speaking as will auburn jump Gonzaga. They don't have to. On any ballots. Right. Just the goofies who voted auburn 9th have to not do that again. And the goofies who voted auburn 6th have to not do that again. So really, it just takes a voter saying, oh, I still think Gonzaga is number one, but I'm gonna move auburn from four to two. And I'm gonna move auburn from 9 to three. That's all it takes and auburn jumps Gonzaga in the a peephole. And becomes number one for the first time in school history. I think with a victory over Kentucky, they'll do it. Not necessarily because people will flip the top of their ballots and take Gonzaga and move them from number one, but because auburn will move higher on some of these other ballots than they wore this past Monday, and that'll be enough to give them the points to pass Gonzaga. In other words, even if the first place votes look exactly the same as they did last week, I think auburn can jump Gonzaga just by moving up on other ballots. Standing room only tickets, by the way, priced above $200 each. Let's dump up. Like 9 and change, I think. I've never been there, but I believe it's like, not too big, not too small. It's perfect. That's what a great college basketball arena should be. 9000 seats. It's perfect. And I've never been there for a game. I have been there, right after Bruce got the job, family and I were on our way to the beach. And I talked my wife in the driving through auburn, Alabama, so I could spend the day with Bruce and his staff and get some work done. And so I've seen the arena and it's great. I've never been there for a game. So I'm looking forward to it. On the court, walker Kessler will be coming off a 15.6 rebound 6 block. Effort against Georgia? And that was his home state school. He's from noon in Georgia, which is like 40 miles southwest of Atlanta. So he's now averaging Kessler a 17 and a half .8 rebound 6 and a half blocks in his past two games. You know what they call that, don't you dead leg? Break through. There we go. He's breaking through just as predicted. I think Goldberg to win to cover and to move to number one in the AP poll on Monday. I think all of those things happen. Game two, Saturday, 3 p.m. eastern. Number 5 Baylor at Oklahoma inside Taylor Griffin center. Blake gets everything. We should I agree. Let's go. Taylor deserves something. Ken pump has that Baylor -5 you can watch it on ESPN+. I'll be quick on this. I'm gonna go Baylor and Baylor definitively, Oklahoma has been in some games as of late. We identified their plights and some struggles on most recent podcast. But I'm gonna trust now we still don't know Jeremy shohan and James and kinjo, their status don't know if they're playing in this game, but I'm gonna say I'm just gonna have this Intel. I haven't been in touch with price or hook or Scott or anyone in the drew family about this. I'm going to lean that kenjo plays in this game. And with that presumption, give me Bailey to win and cover. I meant the tech talk. All he's a dog. Yeah, but he can text. That's a good dog. Good dog. All right. That's a good dog. He context. I'm at the texting. I actually do as I'm looking at my notes here. I made most of these notes on my flight home yesterday. It says text got and find out about a Kim Jong-un. Just forgot. I got busy. I just forgot. Like you mentioned earlier, it's got 6 quad one wins, leads the nation. 8 and two in the first two quadrants. That's why I still got on top four in the top 25 and one. Oklahoma has lost four or 5. On a three game losing streak, pass two losses to TCU and Kansas by a combined four points. So like Khloe's losses, for their 6 losses, have either come in OT or by three or four points. So that's rough. I mean, these are one possession two possession situations. But I'm with you. I'll take you know what I'm not with you. I'll take Baylor to win. I'll take Baylor to win, but Oklahoma to cover. Baylor wins a tight game inside the Taylor Griffin center. It's game three. Saturday, 6 p.m..

"Fell down. Just announced a tour with run the jewels. Would you be interested in rage and RT at Madison Square Garden? I'd be interested in you buying that ticket for me because you still owe me a ticket. So yes, we'll just capitalize on that. How about maybe we'll go together? Sounds good. I'm actually good for it. Where was I rob fantasy? Hero of the night. Career high 20 points, man. Hits the winning bucket from the corner. Indiana gets its first win against a top 5 team at home since 2016 when it beaten North Carolina. So maybe you can argue that that UNC win was the more recent important regular season development versus the Kentucky one. But they fled to the floor, my man. They rushed that court. It was only the second win in 9 years. Only the second win in 9 years for Indiana against perdue. It's crazy. How'd they win? A couple reasons. Only three turnovers had been the lowest in a game for IU since 2006. Only three turnovers. That's a good stuff there. Now produce offense has been highly ranked parish because of a couple reasons but a couple of them being get plenty of production from the bench. That's in no small part because the Trayvon Williams and also they get to the line a ton and they're relatively good foul shooting team. Well, that didn't happen on Thursday. Indiana's bench outscored perdue 35 to four trivial Williams with subpar for a third consecutive game. That's something to keep an eye on. He shouldn't be playing as poorly as for his level, his expectation his ability is he's been. And then the foul shots, Indiana had 24, Purdue got to the line 17 times. Purdue came into the game, having shot like a 110 more foul shots this season than its opponents. It just dominates the free throw rate wasn't the case whatsoever. And because Williams wasn't good, and even without trace Jackson Davis, playing well playing a lot of minutes, Indiana was narrowly better points in the paint. 30 to 28. So good stuff. Rob fantasy, congrats on you, man. You're from Lafayette, Indiana. Four steals, four boards, career high 20. You hit the bucket. You finally get a win over perdue. This is the kind of game that you're going to remember for the rest of your life that people will talk to you and want to hear about for decades to come. Xavier Johnson also was pretty critical in this game as well. He had 18 and four boards. But yeah, good stuff for you. That's a validating win. I know you said you don't have them ranked yet, but I'm not going to declare with 100% confidence that Indian is going to the NCAA tournament, but a win like this certainly indicates that some bright days are had this team would have gone had there been a 2020 tournament, but it didn't. So the fact remains that when Archie Miller was there, Indiana never participated in an NCA tournament. This fan base has an experienced it since 2016, but I think 2022 is going to be the year that's a nice win for IU. I did consider Indiana, like I took a look at it, but like I said, there are three and four in the first two quadrants. They're one in four in road games. You'll never believe where they're one win is. I'm blank and I will is it Nebraska? They walked in. A walked in the Pinnacle. No one's walking into the Pinnacle right now in Nebraska's not a pause, by the way. So the one informed road games three and four in the first two quadrants, so just on the outside of the top 25 and one. A night before that, marquette. Got a big win at Villanova. The golden eagles are now 13 and 6 overall, 5 and three and the big east on a 5 game winning streak. And that was marquette's first win at the pavilion and villain I was playing like almost all of its gains all but three of its games at the pavilion home games this season because as you know, I think as I was Googling this the other night, I found like from maybe 2012, you wrote about this. The way the NCAA tournament works is that you can not play tournament games in your quote home arena. And a home arena is defined as anywhere you play more than three games. So Villanova is only going to play three games at Wells Fargo. So that they're eligible to play in the east regional in what is their de facto home arena. It's smart scheduling. So they're at the pavilion a lot this season. And they lost their Wednesday night for the first time since November 2018. It was marquette's first ever win at the pavilion. And Villanova was now 30 and three in that building since there was a $65 million renovation. In other words, they almost never lose their and they lost their Wednesday night to a shock of smart coach team that is overachieving relative to pre season expectations. They were picked 9th in the preseason big east poll, marquette was. Look better than that. No doubt, Justin Lewis, big shot to win it. Marquette close the game on a 7 zero run. Louis finished with 21 points, Greg Elliot off the bench. Who's been pretty solid out of it. He had 14 and, man, Chaka smart, doing real well for himself in year one. You're right, overachieving relative to preseason expectations. I didn't think marquette was going to be in the NCA tournament conversation at all. At any point this season, I was wrong about that. If we built the field today, marquette would have to be in with some room to spare there. This win carries a ton of cash and not just because it's one 5 in a row but it's got a win at home over seat and hall close, got it. We're not Villanova close, got it. And now, as I mentioned, I think on the previous podcast, Xavier is next, that's a home game. We'll get to that in a few. At seton hall at Providence home de nova at UConn. So there's going to be some more losses that come, but marquette's done well enough for itself as we sit here and talk on Friday a.m. marquette 6 and 6 combined in quad one and quad two with a 5 and four record at the top. Quadrant one games. That's really, really good. 5 quadrant one games is almost as many as any other team in the country. There's only one team with more. It's Baylor with 6. Otherwise, marquette is sitting there along the likes of just quad one wins. That's all we're talking about. Wisconsin, auburn, Alabama, Iowa state. Those are the teams that have at least 5 wins against the toughest portion of their schedule. Good on, good on Shaka. Marquette. I know this fans are fired up, man. This is kind of a vindicating feeling after you wanted to make a coaching change. You get shock of smart. There's a lot of anticipation, excitement that comes with this, but you think, okay, maybe it takes two year two, year three at the latest, and here we are in the first year and he's got him in the tournament conversation. We'll see if they can stay there, but they're looking good, they're looking good right about now. The only other one that you mentioned was what UCLA went in late at your man that game went late. I was fading. I held on barely. I didn't. Oh, I barely held on. Like, Gonzaga pulled away from San Francisco, so that they actually won by 16 and the line was 16. Wouldn't you know it? And I was like, I got to see if UCLA is going to lose this or not..

"Been a you've admitted it. It was a disaster earlier in the season. We don't know if it's any better now or not. But that's where we're at. That's all I got on Memphis. It is surprising it's at this point. And maybe they can put it together, but I mean, who's got any confidence that that's actually going to happen? Yeah. Not me. And I can't imagine many. You know, again, I think you touch on something. He is frustrated. With how it's going, frustrated by the media. Keep in mind, this is a guy who's 50 years old who has been super famous in his hometown since he was like 16. Yeah. And has never faced any kind of criticism in any sort of meaningful way in his life. And now he is for the first time. Like people who grew up adoring him are now suggesting very publicly that he should be fired. And obviously that's tough to deal with. It would be for me. I'm not there yet, by the way. I'm not saying penny should be fired from Memphis, but it's just oh yeah, I mean, to be clear, I would not fire him, not today and not at the end of the season. I'm not there yet. It's not good. I'm just not there yet. Yeah, I would bring him back for year 5 and hope that that's the breakthrough season. And after that, everything goes well. I'm not optimistic of that, but that's what I would do. For a variety of reasons among them, it costs money to get rid of money that they don't have. So yeah, I'm not at the penny should be fired, but there are a lot of people in Memphis who are at the penny should be fired. It's embarrassing. It's a circus. It's one story after another. Even before penny's press conference last night, you and nada and I are in a group text and you guys reached out to me like, hey, you know, do we need to talk about Memphis tomorrow? They just lost again. And I was like, what else is there to say? They're not any good. And they just proved it again. Like, let's focus on the better teams. And in this press conference happened, and it becomes the biggest story in college basketball. It just was last night. And Memphis has been for a variety of reasons. One of the biggest stories in the country in the preseason and throughout the season first because you know they get amati Bates and jaylen Durham. Then they add Larry Brown and rasheed Wallace. Then they get off to a disappointing start, which is a big story just like Michigan getting off to a disappointing start. Then they show some signs of life like beat Alabama pummel with a toss day. And then we're right back where we are now. With penny having this press conference that went viral last night. So I'm with you, there was no better way to start a college basketball podcast this morning other than with the biggest story from Thursday night, which was penny Hardaway press conference. But we're at the point where there's nothing else to say about them. They're just a bad basketball team. And we can spin the rest of the season, hopefully focused on the good basketball teams. And I'd be interested to get your take on this. Because it's something that's been brought up to me and something I think I agree with. One of the points other coaches have made. And by the way, I can't tell you how many coaches text message me and said, you work hard. We're all working hard, you know? Like what? We're differently more effectively. Bragging about working hard. That's not something you should be bragging about. At the end of the day, it's a results oriented business. It is a fact that they entered this season. The head coach of penny Hardaway who had never worked on a college campus before he worked on this college campus. Cody toppert, who had never worked on a college campus until he worked on this college campus. Rasheed Wallace who had never worked on a college campus until he worked on this college campus. And Larry Brown, who is 81 years old. And came to the picture late. And the thing that some other coaches have brought up to me is that a penny can clearly recruit. And I think he can actually coach, run a practice, do drills all that stuff. But who on that staff knows how to run a college basketball program in the year 2022. Like when penny said, I didn't even really think about getting my players vaccinated. That is so contrary to what every other coach told us in the off season. It was priority one for everybody. And it Memphis they just didn't even seem to care. And one of the things that I think has led to all of these missteps is that they don't have anybody on the staff who knows how to run a college basketball program. Not coach a basketball team. These are two very different things. Run a college basketball program. And it's come up to buy them. Time after time after time. You think there's something to that? Maybe a little bit, yeah, I think when you get to the there are intricacies of actually running a college basketball program and experience can certainly matter. If you come into a situation where you haven't had experience on a college bench, just about everyone that has worked in college athletics, I'm not even talking just coaches, I would say athletic directors, people in the college, I thought of space. They'll say having people that have real experience and some success, a good track record means something. So yeah, I think all those things are basically combining to see what's happening. Again, Hardaway did actually have some success previous. It's not like this was his first season or anything like that. He actually did have a good program, but it's all just a confluence of events that's led to led to I hesitate to say implosion, but this is. This is bad stuff, buddy. Exclusively on Paramount plus. In the world of monster wrestling, underdogs don't.

"Score two points in the first 9 minutes of a nationally televised game against an SMU team that isn't even a good defensive team. Among other things, penny toe caucus to stop asking him stupid effing questions. Here's what it sounded like. I think the one thing I can say to this media because this media gives kind of up sometimes when it comes to me, we don't have our full roster. Y'all know we don't have our full roster. Stop asking me stupid questions about if I feel like I can do something. If I had my roster like they did, then I feel like I can do whatever I want to do. I'm coaching really hard. My boys are playing really hard. I'm not embarrassed about nothing. We have four freshmen starting. Y'all need to act like it. Act like we got 17 to 18, 19 year olds out here trying to learn how to play against 22, 23 and 24 year old guys. Come on, man. Stop disrespecting me, bro. Don't do that. I worked hard. I worked way too hard for that. Y'all write all these articles about me and all I do is work. We got young kids on the floor. They got young kids on the floor. Dead leg, your thoughts. It's coming apart in Memphis, man. These kinds of press conferences. Are often not always, but they are often indicators that an end could be near. Completely unacceptable by penny hardware, man. I'm going to state the obvious here, but you're the one responsible for the roster. Yeah, there's injury issues. Just earlier this week, I talked to another coach in your league. Down in Texas, Kelvin Sampson at Houston, awesome again, 16 and two doesn't have two of his three best players for the remainder of the season. And it hasn't slowed that Houston program. Whatsoever. Talk to Samson about these same exact issues. There's no excuse. Now obviously I caught him in a good mood. After they pasted South Florida earlier in the week, you know, less than an hour after that game finished. Penny's gonna be pissed because they lost again. This thing is spiraled out of control. But he's the one that put this roster together. Doesn't even have one of his coaches anymore. Rasheed Wallace is no longer an acting assistant coach. It's not working. And normally Memphis wouldn't even be worth kind of getting into. And in fact, we kind of briefly debated even doing it, but then penny Hardaway and his postgame conferences and press conference he solidified it for us because all this does is sheds more light on how much dysfunction is happening. Yeah, I understand that the tigers don't have their full allotment of players. Yes, they are loaded up with freshmen. By the way, a couple of which will be NBA pixel endurance will be in the lottery. Amani Bates, whenever he goes, I mean, he hasn't looked like a first round pick to this point, but give him a little more time, but you're still recruited them to this roster. You built it. It's on you. You have not yet coached in the NCA tournament. You haven't had an NCAA term at level team. You still don't have an NCAA tournament level team. So penny Hardaway choosing to go after the media, it's not the media's fault that the team's in the spot that it's in, man. And I know not of all of its pennies fault because of the injury situations I get all that, but boy, this is not a good look. So those are my quick thoughts. I'd like garrison and I would also like to ask you just by nature of where you're at. I mean, you're sitting in your house in Mississippi, just a stone's throw away from the Memphis city limits here. I don't know. I don't think this is no reaction. Is there a chance that we could actually see a coaching change within the next 8 to ten weeks at that program or we think they'll go with penny for at least one more season? Because stuff like this, these kind of pressors. I mean, they certainly reveal plenty of issues and I know penny was probably venting, but I don't know, man. It's getting worse by the week here. It is getting worse, by the week. I suppose there's a chance there could be a coaching change. I would not anticipate that. I wouldn't bet on it. This is a cash strapped athletic department. They don't want to fire a penny Hardaway. And B, I don't even know if they got the money to do it. And so I think the most likely scenario is that they just ride it out and hope that, you know, year 5 is different than year one, two, three and four. At this point, obviously people are losing optimism. Some of the hardcore are starting to lose faith, understandably so. But I'll be surprised. I guess I put it this way. If any Hardaway wants to be the coach at Memphis next season, I'm going to assume that he's going to be the coach at Memphis next season. But if there's another season like this season, you're 6, probably wouldn't follow your 5. The problem with penny pointing out that if he had his full roster, he believes he would be able to do whatever he wanted to do..

"Please be joined by Memphis head coach penny Hardaway and listen penny, it's been a crazy last year or so in college hoops, right? I mean, tons of changes, obviously COVID wasn't real for anybody. It was kind of a challenging time, but college basketball going through so much right now. You being a former player, okay, who's starting college who played in the league who sees some of these changes coming as a head coach now. Whether it's, you know, the one time transfer rule, whether it's name image likeness. What worries you the most about college tubes? I guess the thing that worries me most about college hoops is the loyalty. The loyalty part, I think that's the main thing. You're with this team and you could get everything that you want in that year and still transfer. You know, there's no loyalty to the school. I mean, he had some guys transferring playing 32 minutes a game, 30 minutes a game, 28 minutes a game. What more do you want? And I know some guys want to go from a smaller level, maybe to a higher level, but the higher level guys that we're getting things that they wanted. I don't know. I don't understand. No, I mean, I'm with you. I mean, you had three of them last year, right? I mean, three dudes who played a lot of time at all transferred somewhere else. Is there anything that can be done? I mean, people are like, well, if you have great relationships with the kids and I say that's kind of BS because you could have the greatest relationship with the kid. But if he's the number three score, he wants more touches, more plays around. It almost doesn't matter if he's the best player. He's probably leaving for the league. Yeah, I think that, you know, especially with the guys that left me, I had really good relationships with all those guys. And like you said, they just wanted more for themselves individually. You know, been a third best is not the second of the first or not the first minute second best is not the first. If you're the first, you're going to the league. So that's what happens and you have to look at it as a business. So what's it been like, navigating and you did a good job. I mean, you lost a lot, but you obviously navigated the transfer portal. Fairly well. And then we'll get into your reclassified duo here in a minute. What's it been like going through the transfer portal, I mean, just kind of a product of the environment.

"Don't read as much anymore. I think is kind of true And it is fascinating to think like you. And i grew up in a world where there is pretty much print media right and everybody would read magazines and newspapers. Right will today or white papers exactly. But today i mean i still have people that. Read the articles on my website. But it seems that people want to be informed in a newer creative way which is where video comes in short form. Video doesn't have to be a novel. It just has to convey something which is really. Guess the bridge to my next question. Which is you know. And we're talking real stories here right but you know for marketers listening right now. Some of them own their business like you do others worked for a business like maybe my business right who don't own it. But their job is to help market whatever. The business sells so what kind of content should we be creating with video on instagram and particular reason stories so that we can actually help the business. Let's talk about that a little bit great question. So that's the challenge when you're looking at trends because it's easy to jump on a trend. Let's say for example. It's just a dance video and you do something funny in it and you get that to go viral for you and you've got you know hundreds of thousands or whatever more than you normally get. That's step one but if those people don't turn into followers it's kinda pointless in fact it can work against you if you have a bunch of people falling you expecting more content like that and it has nothing to do with your brand new. Your business will. Then you've just created a problem for yourself and your disappointing new followers and you're gonna get on followed by those people so it's really key is that we're looking at these trends and asking ourselves. Okay how do we take this and make it fit consistently with the messaging. That i want to be known for or the thing. The problem that i wanna saw hardaway make sure that the content. I'm creating actually relates to my niece because if it's not then you're gonna get tons of using spend a lot of time making content. That just is not going to serve. Our end goal in the end goal is sales. So how do we do that..

"Would help. People implement mobile application. You is as well as web application you. You is foster. That's what we want to right now. we've got where he beat out worship out there reciting people people right now. The technology technology works. And that's the gist of copycat. We help your developers become significantly foster. Save up to thirty percent of your sprint time every week. That's important that that time is expensive and can sometimes be difference between you being the first to market with product. Right and other question. That i have for you really in this kind of gets at copycat and what you guys are doing. There is a lot of the more season sort of senior level Entrepreneurs that i mean you know when they think about technology if they don't have a background ended its themes counter. Intuitive that you would build a company. I go through the database and all the features function and then try to monetize it right. They can't understand how the comparison between what business used to be like. Then what it's like today with technology where sometimes you spend two three four five years building something before you make a single dime. It's hard for them to understand why you would do something like that. And i'm not saying or suggesting that copycat is or isn't making Sales at this point. But it's my experience that usually in your industry you're building out the application and there's much bigger goal right to to to reach. So can you talk about that and you know you grew up on technology right being a millennial so for you. It's not foreign to build something. I then monetize it but does it sometimes give you some some sort of reservations as to. Hey if by bill the product. I can sell right off the shelves tomorrow. It's it's much. It might be much easier than building this empire not only monetize until we have passed beta in tested. So i've learnt This lesson if i might call it the hardaway and i i bought into the whole attitude of bill it and we'll make crate. And then bill figured out the monetization and everything too hard and initially a lot of entrepreneurs migration by to this. Because it's pretty much done nor for a lot of the becomes out. There looked into abstract for you. Don't think but they were growing. They had people their eyeballs. People like right next to this. But he's got not. Everybody can be a social network. And i'm a firm believer of if you can make money dave one at you have the belief that this money's gonna keep growing at a rate year happy with you know the first year the second year the fifth year the money..

"It informs the brain to be creative when you see that and you see this dance between the two you and you turn around and you look at that person and they got this big smile on their face. They're they're so in love with the moment they don't want it to end there are and there's very strong biological changes so we're looking at scans of hearts and brains. We're looking at collective scans of people just to see if we can demystify the process. I don't wanna. I don't wanna shut audience off with a word. I want to create new words that are signs based so we the meditations that we teach all have meaning behind what we're doing because we've studied scans and studied the effects and has certain intentions of why we're doing it whether we want signal new dreams whether we want to create more brain coherence more heart. Coherence we wanna create coherence between the brain and the heart. I mean what is it that we want to do. So we have different. Meditations for different intentions really is so great. And you know. You're working so accessible. And i i just love you to share a little bit about the kinds of offerings you to his. You know people listening a wow. This sounds rate. And how do i. How do i really change my mindset. How do i rewire my brain. Hardaway you know get different neurons to fire together. How do i practice gratitude. How do i. How do i begin to shift my emotional states by changing my my beliefs and and it. It's it's it's something that we need a hand for. I get you know it's hard to do on her own. And your work is such a beautiful collection of offerings You know there's a scientific research you can.

"Sean hiking coming up in just a moment. Do we have them? Okay, we'll get the show on just a second. I saw the story. From this week, Larry Brown is going to join the Memphis staff with Penny Hardaway. And I reminded myself and this made me think of Kawai. Larry Brown is a brilliant coach. He's been all over the universe. He's gone everywhere. But I think that his legacy has been clouded because he's gone to so many places. And I first think when I hear Kawai is going to be a free agent, maybe you want to stay in l A. You had a chance. I think you'll have a chance again this year. I know that you called out the locker room. You're probably right to call it the locker room. There's a lot of things there that you can do. But an unfinished job is going to be part of the legacy. And you don't want to move to many places to where that starts to cloud. Just how great you were. I don't want that. The cloud that We're bringing Sean Hi can see if he agrees with me. I bet he doesn't bleacher Report. NBA writer Find him on Twitter at hike and Sean, Thanks for joining us. Hey, thanks for having on What do you think? Why? Why don't you do I think I don't really think he's going to go anywhere. I know that obviously because they just lost in the conference finals, and he was injured that they're going to be rumors about this. And you know that. You know, there are teams like Miami that have been Preparing just in case he were to leave, But I just The thing. The thing about Kawai is like, you know, he had a big part of why he went. There was he wanted to go home. And from what I understand he likes living. He lived in San Diego. He commutes there by helicopter. I think he just liked Doing that. I don't. I don't think he's one of these guys. Where, like. I mean, he's already got two rings in two finals MVPs. I don't think he's a guy where as you know if this situation is, you know if they if they lose in the playoffs a couple of times he's going to go somewhere. I I just I don't I don't think he's going to go anywhere. Like for l. A. It's like it's not like it's some great big loss like I look at the NBA and I still think that Yeah, you know, you want to try to keep some stars to make it as enticing as possible to keep some stars and some And some cities that aren't New York, LA or Miami. That type of thing, but it wouldn't be like it's some great big loss. But I think that he is still so much hope in the other team with the Clippers and with him with Balmer. I think it's been a good feel I feel good type of story. I'd like to see him Stay. Pat Riley, though, can be enticing. Miami can be enticing the heat they look like they could go after him. Could he be swayed? I know that you don't think he'll go, but I think the heat would have a great chance to land him still. Well, the other thing about his situation with the Clippers. If he basically runs the organization he dictates, you know, practice time. He you know, he There's a lot of stuff that they kind of let him control. That's not really ever going to that wouldn't fly in Miami, You have to remember LeBron went there and 20 in 2010. And you know, the first year he and Wade tried to get Erik Spoelstra fired because they wanted a different coach and Pat Riley was just like no, no, no, no, no, no. You guys don't decide what happens here. I think I mean, I understand the you know the logic of Oh, you know, Pat Riley is always lurking and the heat have this incredible culture and you know, you can team with Jimmy Butler. I get all that. But I just don't think that whole, uh set up is going to be his appealing to him as it would be to other guys..

I very much enjoy saying But one thing we can say about younger generations and increasingly our generation too so the older people in the room is that we are increasingly sensitive to in congress. We would much rather somebody come up to our face yell the n word for example then someone shake handan smile and then do it behind our back. The incongruence is what is causing an organization's will what we are with with multinationals right now who are struggling because they cannot have they called find talent to stay simply because they read that website and it says you this kind of they show up something completely different and the gap is what drives them not the narrative. It self. I remember still being stunned. John young action after tim hardaway came on our show and said flatly. I hate gay people. And then i called you and was like what is your reaction to this and yours. It was almost a bully and it was almost joys. You're like finally someone. Just set it out loud finally no more camouflage and no more lying just you gave voice to it and you said it. I was stunned at the time by your reaction to that. Because you were grateful. It will be a flagrant foul. Well, now you're just hoping that it's not a flagrant with an ejection, like Let Jamal play You know he is. I don't know, though, man like if I'm playing if I'm just a neutral sports fan If they say flagrante with an objection. I'm not against that. Although it did you see the prior activity? Hardaway got him first early, and they've been going after each other again, Jamal in this game on several occasions, he's turned toward the refs and said, What the? You know what he's got Three fouls so far. This will be number four, right? For sure. I just don't know. And this is why, you know they make what they make. And we make what we make. But this is gonna be I don't see how you could argue with whatever decision this is, like, Think of your Dallas fan right now. Of course we're playing the other side right now. Right? Right, having a connection on the air, right? This could take a minute. So it's Zack's are with the crew chief and Haywoode Workman, the umpire. Yeah, so they're gonna check them. So it's a flagrant two on Jamal and I really don't have a problem with that. I mean, honest with you. If I'm just a Oh, that was somebody else. That was.
