2021 College Football Betting Preview
"Gentleman. I have picked the brain of many times. Jay romano pro. Better here in las vegas good to be with you. Thanks for having me all right well. We finally broke the seal. Got you on the pod. And i think it's a perfect situation. Do college win. Totals because the board has been hit pretty hard. But there's still a lot of opportunities out there and we're we're obviously. The calendars turned to mid august. We are ready to go Football season's right around the corner. So i know there's a lot of plays you like a little bit off the grid but i want to start the marquee ones and it's the one that's my favorite of a mall and i've talked about it a few times on daily wager. I believe i've even mentioned it here on the podcast but i am very very big on auburn under seven now the juices move some shops or six and a half. If you want to go six plus money that's fine. It's just so tough when you get the push at seven so i prefer the seven with the juice and it all comes down to the schedule. Not the only reason but the schedules really really difficult. And you've got bama. You got an got georgia. I don't think there's any chance auburn win those games. I know rivalry game and war eagle and all that stuff with the with the iron bowl but it's just auburn is rebuilding. And they have a new coach bryan. Hartson coming in from boise. State and bonex is just not materialize into the quarterback that everyone thought he would be. Maybe a new oc. Mike bobo will unlock. I'll just kind of have to see it to believe it. So in addition to obama. Georgia am there at lsu. They have all miss at home. You know at arkansas. And then there's there's this tough spots here and it's a team that's going to be lacking on offense defense. They're calling card. So i think i don't see how they go eight and four to lose this play. Well i i would definitely recommend Playing the seven laying the juice in this situation. I almost always gonna lay the juice versus taking maybe plus one ten plus one twenty on the under. It's definitely worth the extra half a game. I'm actually high on auburn this year. However i completely agree with you. The schedule is brutal. There's just no breeders for them. I think bonex. Could you know have an improvement. This year they can play well. It's just there's just not enough wings on the schedule. It really looks like they're ceiling is seven. It's just you know when you like. You said when you go to texas. Am have to play alabama lsu home against georgia. And then at penn state week three. It's just you forgot about the penn state game. I'm glad you mentioned that. Cause at the white out game in happy valley. yeah. And i'm looking headlines there between four and a half and seven and a half point underdogs So they can exceed expectations and still not go over this win total. Yeah no. it's a lot to ask. It's certainly a lot to ask but you're so you're high on wsb. Maybe as a dog and a lot of spots throughout the season. So i know you have some places. Well but notre dame under nine talk about not soft spots on the schedule that that's certainly stands out where you'll get the irish yet. The with them again is scheduled schedule. Schedule you know. I know there are top ten ranked team coming into the season but it is just absolutely unforgiving. Weakened weak outs starting at florida state where they opened about ten and a half eleven point favorites. It's down to seven and a half eight. That's not gonna be an easy task. Going into dough campbell on a standalone game in a national televised audience. Week one with a new quarterback Jet cohn was name started earlier this week. With up and down. Wisconsin played well and times. But we'll we'll have to see how he jumped there Notre dame is starting four new offensive lineman. They returned to starters on offense. It's it's a little early in the season For that type of test. So not only would. I looked afford a states Plus the points week one just a little bonus pick right there but the under nine for the season feels like a pretty safe option

"New custom home what he said north a surprise Paul's next online Happy Valley welcome to the program driving Hey Paul six body yes last hour what would take more calls is a perfect example you could hear a word he was saying what China well I had told us that you come off the tooth out apology to pull over and take off that Bluetooth did you start on this question though he has a home with a sounds like it's one story and one of the rooms is nice large room he wants to put a second story on top of that room and he has no idea how to get started yeah we we do second we do well we've done a lot of second stories Paul and a lot of people initially you're nervous is it well I've got to reinforce my still mall in my foundation of my footing and that's really not the problem when putting on a second story almost every foundation footing underneath a single story home will support a two story home it's not the weight of the second story the causes the problem but what you need to do is you need to get a structural engineer involved what is the problem is what we call the sheer of the house if you picture the houses being a shoe box out on the out on the ground this year would be the wind that comes across it trying to move that box and move that house and is that wind hits the side of the house it causes the house to flex was second story addition is the equivalent of putting up a huge sale it's only gonna catch more of that wind so we have to develop sheer panels they come down to the foundation the footing at least span the joint between the first and second story and the sheer the engineering of the sheer of the second story tends to be the bigger problem a lot of times he's up on Happy Valley so is on the north side of the valley it may be a lot it gives them great views anyways to put that second story addition up there and have it lots a glass may use even tall walk out patio well all of that glass this is the challenges we're gonna have on giving you the sheer strength that you need because glass has little to no sheer panel value we've got to do it by covering the outside of the addition with the sheer panel which is generally done with a half inch like CD acts or straight it plywood board and they would put the siding over the top of that so Paul we do it all the time the good news is you don't have to reinforce the footings of foundations but the bad news is if you don't adequately have an engineer design the stress loads you're going to have an up stairs that cracks and creeks the dry wall will pop up in your your really regret not starting with that investment with the good design with a good structural engineer and go from there I hope that helps glass isn't very interesting material there is and technically it's it's actually a liquid just with a very shrew the Scots see rate and yet there is a company that's developing something called solar windows were there integrating photo heck energy producing cells into the glass and their whole goal is to offset skyscrapers energy consumption during daylight yeah well think about all those skyscrapers are going up at Tempe town lake they're all glass panes of those were all you know of producing photovoltaic now obviously the north side of the the thing is again offer you a lot but that goes back into your design designing it to were south and west side of the glass because your energy producer mazing technology Rosie on the house.
Dick Powell Discuss Melbourne Cup
"And you know Haskins brought up Melbourne Cup and boy you I wanNA talk about a firestorm. We thought the Derby had an aftermath. The this Melbourne Cups had an aftermath. Well uh-huh they disqualified point Aboard Master reality. He had the lead As he's I've been doing all year he's been riding aggressively and trying to use all the skills to get home. He looked like he was going to do it. And then balanced declare was on the inside Pencil Barron on the outside of fighting duck then tightened up paradiso. who was making this phenomenal for Wayne Lorden and that one little bit of a chain reaction with the winner Alan declare but it was hard to tell on the head on? When did it happen the stretch like they were right on the wires? So did it happen to strike. Before strike after SORTA stewards took quite a while to go over it and it turned out to be way. The inquiry work turned out to be Aidan. O'Brien's rider claiming against Joseph Brian's right doc. So they took Joseph them and they move up to third they put they put Joseph back the fourth. And then me off mine. WHO's Donald? But he wound up winning Craig Williams aboard the Toy. Your own son of declaration of war vow the choir He was highly touted into and all the commentary commentary before the rate big slice. I wound up betting prince of Aaron. He went off at sixteen to one. was in a winning position every step at one point. It looks like he's GonNa win and in fact at the Y.. Michael Walker stands hands up. biking won the raised. Any like what's to his last. Maybe not I've been. I've been a crutch back now. So he winds up winning running third moved moved up to second page eighteen dollars. The place one of his twenty. Something exactly came back for thirty with to watch go horses but as as Paul said earlier today you can make a chance for fourteen of them and then in the stretch of if you watch the race again and again but Chattanooga's Colt made the glass judge flying. That's making tons of ground surprise. That'd be Jut. Mine was at that Cross County residents winter hex software. Don't that but still he was coming on. William Bill just tremendous the Spanish on the wire and They took my keys on the the mind. veg suspensions actually out it's always it's always entertaining and one of those special days and I was in such a blur. You know coming out of the weekend and then traveling link so i. I was behind Catching up to it and all the and all the hubbub and speaking of Catching up and everything deck. Let's get your right before we talk Hong Kong and there is plenty there. There's actually a lot of news That I've seen from around the world Horses is that are starting to announce their intention to run on champions On the Champions Card but before we do that you're breeders cup takes so they would kind of disappointing my handicap and was just not what it should be. I was on with you when we're cavalry was on and I talked about tracking your father. Santa Neither Steve with that so that was no surprise the way the track played away from me. I just didn't have the right voices. I seven degrees with about if you tell me do tries. It's IT'S GONNA run back good in the first half. I gotTA figure Dunbar Road. It's GonNa be light in and she wasn't so that that cost and then I you know I I I knew track was going to be the way it was. I was right about that. And I know code honor the relatively small horse that Kinda gets over the popped track down too far and sure comes up the way. They're even like that goes on her and don't see was he. He didn't look before the race. Though I can't I can't blame it all on the track because in the post sprayed he was very antsy he was very not wash now going into the game but he was started warm. And that's to me. That's unlike him so even with the track he didn't look at going in and then obviously than handle the track so so it wasn't it wasn't a they want a lot of high five point Friday and Saturday and other than that originally this great I kind of had the opinion and Europeans Warren to strongest companion. Especially when magical make the trip turned out to be probably true but the one the one I really screwed up on sale sponsored that's That's that's when you go back and look how about applesauce episodes come up and I've been so so so I was just two more days of back getting it done okay. Well and that just shows you that you don't as I say repeatedly and I write that the introduction to keep people I don't want people to get completely flummoxed by by Breeders Cup and that they they you know they didn't do well and I. Can't you know you do well this weekend. delmar opens tomorrow and the Churchill. Fields Terrific You don't it's two days. It seems like they're the most important on the calendar when it comes to wagering opportunities but the money you make in the Melbourne Cup is just as just as valuable as the money you. You didn't make on Breeders Cup weekend and it's why it was one of those things where I kind of recognized that nothing seems to be working so I a lot of money Friday and Saturday. The thing is like when you're playing blackjack and you get really good cards. And then he keeps feeding him. So you're betting more than shirt because you're getting really good parts. Oh you get bad cards you just get that. Take your losses so I kinda problem everything down on Saturday. So wasn't you know I didn't that anywhere near the funding that I take him out. Taken out of my bank account too but the rights coming up and I look forward to the multiple foul and I got lucky because I could have just as easily been shoving second exactly. And that's what the that's what makes that's what makes it so much fun so maddening reddening or or so exciting. It's just it's gotta run for you That that's always the bottom line and on a day day on days like we had Friday and Saturday there were as as Paul. Matisse laid out brilliantly today there are things that are going to conspire against you. And you can't can't. You can't completely alter your game plan or abandoned your your approach. You can adjust maybe a B and tinker and throw in some savers and whatnot. But if it's not going to be your you know your day or your two days. Ah Ah but it doesn't reflect doesn't reflect on what lies ahead and and there's still a lot of good racing November's of terrific racing month that we got all the the action of Churchill leading up to the Clark And the stars of tomorrow to Ecuador off off to a tremendous start. I mean if they can if they can maintain this before people break camp and start the head to Florida and whatnot. It's going to be a very good Ecuador meet because the fields are competitive racing is interesting so that's often and del Mar With the first two cards sat and that looks like give. There's always a lot of good turf racing at del Mar so often. Go off we go. How about to spend the last couple of minutes? The Hong Kong updates about four minutes shopping rich sharpton ran on Sunday We now have a true Sunday. We have a high fifty races favorites at one. Twenty six percent the average field sizes twelve and one and the average win price is twenty dollars and fifty cents so prices again value. You and Twenty Six hundred seventy is pretty thoughtful considering twelve twelve though horses surveys Shopping on fat set Sunday very fast track is good too terminate running raid this time so when you look back at those races understand that they worked on pretty quick. Nothing really stood out on on. That took yesterday at Happy Valley They Rennes nine. Nine on the paraffin and interesting things Steve Race sex with the fifty six to one shot that one and you WanNa talk about how different things are from talk to them and I keep saying we want to be like the rest of the world that we used to be so the horse that won training by Begnaud young he was called into the stewards to try to explain this big former. There's a whole explanation the nation and and the chart comments and China's that easy stated that this was the second. Start off the way off. As I started at some mucous in his trachea they they trained him and congre which is inland about three hours minded China Trade Centre pollution and everything else and Hong Kong. Long time that's awesome but here stewards are paying attention not just You know I've done horses that I have run poorly a horse. Who when often you John? Why did he run so well? And that's that's you know that's called transparency and integrity.

"They even offer Rosetta Rosetta Stone yet. So why are we spending all that. GD money on it right there for free. Yes museum passes. That's super cool superclub that Yep Yoga and fitness classes glasses wow. I don't think mine has that. That's cool yeah so a lot of time. I've seen this because they have that at Huntington Beach Library as well on digital magazines. We know about that. That's a great one yet. They have it attached to like an APP. I think it's called Flip stor and I have that on my phone and I can download whatever cosmo food food network prevention US weekly whatever cool this one says they have access through this APP or something like that called Xenos the I N I oh Oh yes aso yeah that could be another one and of course activities for the kids yeah. That's amazing after school tutoring yeah. That's really good paying for it with with your taxes anyway. Yes take advantage tutoring a game nights. It's so like all that this one I thought was super cool and that maybe some of Dr brainiacs who are into this would be into genealogy research tools. Oh Yeah mine has subscriptions to all of that stuff ancestor dot COM job search and resume help yeah. That's a very cool yes and like my homework for you. People is just go in and and get a card a library card because then you can access all the digital stuff at home like you don't have to be going to the library all the time. You can use their services from home this. It sounds like an add. It is not no right but we want you to go to your public libraries. We're just doing this you know as a it's a PSA yes PSA yes and the last one I have on the list that I thought I this is so cool and I wish that more artists would do this and I wish more libraries. I would do this and talk about it so residents of Ann Arbor Michigan they are able to check out original framed artwork that they can keep in their house for up to eight weeks really just yeah and you rotate through and you get new art in your house and you get to like support local artists and checkout artwork and like have people come over and see the cool stuff. Isn't that cool very yes. These people are staging homes. If you're selling your house right now artwork see I'm telling you people I do not lie and I do not want you to waste your time and this is very worth it. Can you believe the seeds from the library. Thing that I can't believe is that people don't use it right but they're taking hearing me squawk about it right. No I think it's it's fun. Good okay. What else did I want to tell you. Does it freak you out like when you're using a website you know how like when you try to leave and then the pop up comes up it tries to convince you not to leave or like you know how when you they want sign up for our newsletter and get ten percent off and then you options answer like yes of course. I love to save money or the no thanks. I hate to yeah yes what do that. It's a really silly really and there's one site I went to. I can't even remember what it was but it was so annoying because on every single page clothing site right and every you know how like sometimes I'll be looking t-shirts mobile like twenty-seven pages and I've already said no night right to say no every single time I go to the next pitch Ti must do though feels like made me not WanNa shop there. You have but that's what I I'm always thinking is. I whenever I would hear my dad on the phone with a solicitor when they call I realized why there are solicitors because my dad would buy it whatever they were selling and they're waiting for the one person a numbers game so it has to be like that where this must work burk or they wouldn't do it. Oh my God you know what I keep getting calls for. I don't know what I signed up for. What got my maybe it's when I moved her something but now my phone number is getting calls like this is the FBI and social security number and then I try it like they were like this guy called got me on the phone and everything like real person and he said yeah you your social security number has been compromised. We're going to need you to verify your social security already number to me over the phone. I'm GonNa need you to verify your whatever and then he hung up on smooth yeah and I was like okay so you verify your number and then all verify mine for like your business number. You know whatever they they says. It was social security numbers that it was calling from mainland China China right. You know those social security offices in China but it's effective those scams work doc China branch shine Lebron's. Oh good yeah no but I think it's like the you know. The elderly people like that like I told you that I had a friend who well my friend. Sarah Friend whose dad was a victim victim of one of those like electronic kidnapping things what's held. Oh my God. I brought the story of a long long time ago so they got his information. They called him on the phone. They said we have your daughter and we're not going to give you oh yes until you take this money to this location and he had drained their bank accounts. He was on like a twenty four forty eight hour like he ended up getting pulled over by the police lied to the police and said like no everything's fine and then the kids said no something's definitely wrong and then the police picked him up again and then like if they caught him and but after he had already drained all the bank accounts tear this happened it was in Dana Point to where where I'm living now and it happened like eight other people living here but you're telling me she they didn't have the daughter they did not have the daughter. Why didn't they just did it daughter. They did something to like. They set it up so he wasn't able to do that. Like they made sure the timing was right so she was like they did it all like electron or digitally so they made it so it really seemed like that to him. Well imagines and everything nope. I couldn't couldn't and the family was like freaking out and get his money back. He didn't actually ended up giving it to know I know I think he did. He definitely gave them what was in his checking account. He like dropped it off at some location. Yeah it was real crazy well. Finally I was reading an article in the Atlantic. Take saying that because there was a big drop in crime over the last twenty twenty five years great right and so many people are trying trying to figure out what was the crime well no like just crime in general has declined and they're trying to figure out the causation. What made made this happen and one theory is that cell phones caused crime to decline like? I don't know what their argument was a well I can I can see that because I was thinking that when I was watching this that serial killer movie is I was thinking thinking about serial killers antiquated. Yes yeah how it's much more difficult to get away with something yes in in a digital and the feeling that people are watching you all the time yeah that like you're gonna get caught doing stuff because you're going yeah and it's to do their cameras everywhere. There's you know so I think yeah so it could have had backed right. I mean that's the good side the bad side. Is there other ways that they've used technology to write. You know get what they want but right. I'd had like all those credit card fraud rings and like you know 'cause member steal. Your freakonomics was making the argument that the legalization of abortion had prevented the birth of people who would have been committing the crimes because a lot of people that are high risk or low income. We're able to terminate their pregnancies and then they didn't bring these high risk really uncomfortable. Stay yeah that but that's the the book freakonomics and a documentary argued it could have had you know an unintended positive consequence them. I don't know if that's true. Yeah Yeah and what we're what your real. What we're really saying here is having like more social support port and all like you know it's. It's really awful when I basically what I'm saying is like we can't be as hard it on you have to look at like systemically what's happening in the position that the people are in that make these choices that choose to do something like you know like rob out of desperation or whatever and had we given them the social structure and support and you know early childhood education the things like matter that would like hey. Maybe we could do some of that and prevent these things to you know. I mean I should say that. The freakonomics claim was debunked by other scholars. WHO said that's not why so it's hard to determine causation though when culturally there's so many variables so we can only guess but it's an interesting idea and it's funny that back when crime has gone down? We have a hyper awareness of crime so we don't feel like it's gone down because you know the vitality and all those things make us feel like we're we're always in danger but he just the worst psycho saying what a couple of weeks ago with all those like the commercials for the News Yeah Yeah Forget it. "Dot Com brain candy. I read this article about somebody who was basically making the argument that that you should be able to look like garbage. When you go to the gym like that's you shouldn't try to be sexy and I really don't like it because I'm feel the opposite needs because she was like you know you're going to the gym to sweat and whatever you should be allowed to be comfortable but who's to say that you're not comfortable and leggings yeah well and also who's to say what makes you comfortable period yeah. Some people feel more comfortable when they have like a full face of makeup on or whatever like for for me. I feel really insecure. This is going to sound ridiculous and it's like these kind of things do but who cares I feel ridiculous when my my hair's really frizzy at the gym okay that sounds silly but I always feel like I look like a hot mess who doesn't know what she's doing and I'd like to have like the curly hair everywhere yeah. You look like I want yes so I want like I make sure my hair is slicked. In NYC my ponytail like got a headband on and it makes me feel more confident when I'm like you know if I should be looking in the mirror when I'm at the gym. I just don't get people who sort of like rail l. against you wanting to look nice yeah like if that makes you jim knock yourself out the same way. I wouldn't want somebody coming on and like saying being preachy like Nice when you go to whatever the hell you want right well the opposite for me the grocery store what how I look sure when I go to the grocery store. I don't know what it is and like I don't give two zero Fox. Oh I don't know why it makes me feel like you know what it is okay. Eh Okay this if I were to explore this one with myself. I feel like I make healthier food options when I feel like I'm gross what it really. Maybe that's it because what I feel like. I'm looking really good at the gym. I work out better. Oh my God so if you go to the grocery store and you look like crap you buy better food. I may be maybe I'm thinking like Oh my Gosh Sarah. You'd like eat healthy. Oh that's interesting in weird. I don't know I'm just is trying to like. This is totally leary very but you know 'cause. I definitely don't put I don't care and I go to the gym or not matters. When I go to the Gym Hi yes. I'm going to meet at the grocery store versus now because I even excuse me. I had that when I was married well if you see Sarah at the grocery store. Don't judge her. Don't judge me. Don't trust us with your frizzy hair. She doesn't care quarterly. Yeah sweats and like yeah. Maybe it's always just rushing to the grocery store. I love that you've created a whole paradigm. Though about why it is right what happens there. Maybe I'm like Kinda like gross myself. Out and I'm Mike sometimes that's what motivates me to get healthy and go back in the gym anyway wake up to this point where I'm like Sarah. You've been eating hamburgers and sitting on the couch watching friends for two weeks. Pull your life together woman kind of along the same lines. I've decided in in my mind yesterday that you know I love to follow those accounts on instagram. That are about organizing your house. Yes and I was thinking who else is into that because it's very popular. I think there's two categories of people okay. There's the people who are already hyper organized like I am where they really. We love labeling and getting things sorted and then there's people who absolutely will never be organized. They like it. They want they like the idea of it and they aspire to but that is never going to happen and they follow it to what is your. What do you think I think that's true yeah. I think the same thing goes with a lot of but that stuff like the same thing goes with fitness accounts true yeah yeah yeah but because I like that. I think that it's a rare a person who starts out really messy. Oh is inspired by it and then changes your whole life. I think that's totally and to make behavior changes. You need a really like all everything has to be kind of. I the person's motivation to be there then like a system to support this change like if your living in a home or you have roommates or you have multiple people living with you and you decide to get organized denies. You have to get everybody else onboard right that can be the biggest challenge especially when their habits like that the become really like almost contagious in a way and I. I don't even know what you call that but yeah so often. It's like you know if you got like like two generations of people who are messy good luff. You have one who really wants clan but it can happen but you have to get everybody on board and it's just like therapy therapy like if if I'm working with a family yeah or or working with one individual who's coming in talking about issues with their family and it's all relationship dynamics an annex within the family structure. It's very difficult to do it with. Just the one person when nobody else is aware that they're changes at like that one person has to be really good at communicating like this is how. I'm trying to make change. This is what you know how you guys can respond to that change but if there's only one person who's like. Yep or change in the rest of the system is going to be like what what known I you know and it's like there's a great metaphor or whatever analogy algae with of like a mobile and how they all the little pieces on the mobile are perfectly balanced and when you take one and you shorten the string or like lengthened the string the rest of the mobile gets all off balance and that's kind of what happens and it doesn't work yeah so but I agree yeah. I think so think of onto something with that but then maybe that person will be like will then leave the house and it's a kid who lives remember. They'll break up with that person and you know the person you're with has to like appreciate. That fed has to be something that matters yeah. You know I had a hard time keeping my Mike Cupboards organized because it wasn't a joint effort party. Yeah was like one car like crazy because a lot of value oh you that stay at home mom or wife or husband brings. Is You know to create a nest that is welcoming and comfortable comfortable for the family and but if the other partner doesn't give a crap about that other person gets no value has no value assigned to them. I I mean my medicine cabinet. Looks like yours words each little. It's like one of those little pull out yeah drawer. Little what do you call it a tupperware yeah drawers ores and each each little. George labeled ver. I bandaged Coleman. You'd think that they will go oh back in the drawers with no I mean we had one of my favorite arguments. Which is one of the story before favorite. This is in my top five favorites like I and I've said this on here before like so. It should be fair game. If I said the story when I was married now I should be allowed to say forced whatevs so I had all the spices like he was cooking and he puts back the spices just like wherever and I'm like Oh my God you had them ties says yes us so the spices honey. Can you just put them back in the right place well. What do we know where the rights places? WH- their advertising from ABC well. How am I supposed to know that they're alphabetized this shelf. Literally says spices aid literally says right so well could have been the first I indicated. Everyone is different strain so right right you know and sometimes I just think they don't look like you know it. Doesn't everyone does it so that that was that something you know. This is where we put a thorough toys currently good thing about the dishwasher. I mean last awards to some people like God. I'm terrified for the next person I'm with. They're going to be so I'm going to be like here's the manual. Here's like the the how the rules study them. I think it's when you do it. When you've been divorced then you're in good shape because then you know like what how to do things differently like tell them the truth early-on beyond you don't yes totally and I say that like I'm really clear yeah. I would be like you know when you put things back in in any order. Whatever makes me feel disrespected or like the things that I do to care for. This home are valued by you is dead at that yes so. I'm using congruent communication strategies. Get what I need well. What has a new apartment and in that apartment? I would suggest that you install an Amigo toilet seat. Oh man yet oh I have it in my box. I haven't even unpacked yet. Oh my gosh maybe you could because I should do that today. You don't WanNa be in the dark. Ages is with your toilet seat. No I want a nice cushy Toshiko. Let's get real cleaning up with T. P. is outdated dated. We don't memorize phone numbers or rewind video tapes anymore. Why would we use old style toilets. Here's the thing it's kind of if you really think about what we have cooking cooking in the bathroom. It was Kinda Gross. Why don't you get an Amigo. It has a heated seat a night light a remote control deodorizer and ECLAMPSIA Zia properly and you don't use toilet.

"Michael Buckley the rest of the valley folk here of talked. Endlessly about garbage and your, your guest and so I'd love to hear you just kinda talk and one of my favorite things about, you is just listening to you talk very truly let you just have a lot of fun shit to say, and it's always smart and intelligent, and good, intentioned, and well-intentioned in, I love you very much for it. So what's, what's going on? What do you wanna talk about in your life right now? Like or do what is it topic? You'd like to talk about or what something that's bothering you. Or what's like or what something that's making very what's something that makes you happy right now. That's good. Let's go be happiness for me is very easy. Happiness has always been easy. It's so interesting because I've always, I think, as parents, you tell your kids, I just want you to be happy. And I think that does really weird things to your brain. We're not supposed to be that happy. It's like really the reason that we're unhappy life, because we were entitled to more happy, we have. So I mean when I coach people I coach humanness because I'm here for the human experience. I know what happiness happiness. Drinking and Saxon, fun times with friends and happiness. Very easy, but the other stuff isn't and so I'm much more again. You wouldn't know what a shitty a Happy Valley, if you didn't have a shitty day. So I really I love this shitty days. I love the I love all the terrible things I've been through because they greatly informed who I am versus the happy me, which is just kind of on autopilot and just just like going along life. I'm happy. I'm happy. And then suddenly, you're unhappy, and you panicked versus now when I'm unhappy I'm like, oh, good. I'm unhappy because that's part of it, man. So you feel give a handle. My joy sources are very diverse. I think I used to put all my joy in either a person or career or something. And now my joy sources are totally internal. I do not outsource my joy. But I also would teach me how to do that. Yes. I mean, it's your thoughts, but I mean, I literally looked for extra no solutions to internal problems my entire life. I will make more money. I will get more people to love me, I'll have more whatever and it's like, oh, I saw all my problems with my brain on a daily basis. I create joy, if I want joy also create disappointment if I want to create disappointment..

But he was kind an connective way. Like the say like if you died, I will be just as bummed out even though like we not super close. And he just just seeing the impact he had on people's lives. And how he was always reflecting encouragement back to people. I, you know, it's a reminder to appreciate the journey, and what's happening around you because I felt very serendipitous to last week be in New York when it happened and be able to grieve with the people that are same people I met when I met him and share in that and get to a point where I'm in a good space for it. But it's also like. I like I'd been I was I'm getting ready to leave LA move back to Cleveland, just be closer my family. Be happier. Like, I'm sad here. A lot whatever and also just running out of money like it's hard to feel happy when you're just like fair, man. Like, I'm gonna leave LA because it makes me very sad. Very sad. And so it's like I'm gonna go closer to happy. Like, it makes me less valid to other Happy Valley to other people more valid to myself. Right. No. That's a that's a good way to do it the personal allowance. So you don't have to nickel and dime. Each other in every single big purchase, and you can have your own stuff and buy gifts. And that's a good. That's a good middle ground. I would say all right now what he got. All right. So I don't think I mentioned that I finished bodyguard because I started at talked about a few weeks ago. I thought it was one of the best shows of the year and got some new recommendations for people for other British shows. Wait, hold on we start before you move on. Can I just say something about the bodyguard hit me with it? So I am on the third episode. The beginning of finished two episodes cover your ears is a bit of a spoiler alert, but the sexual activity between the bodyguard and ma'am. I'm not I'm not sure how I feel about that too. That that was a sort of a jump the shark moment. Oh, see. I definitely didn't see it coming. Just wait. You've got a lot more twists and turns coming friend. Okay. No. It's certainly early. It's it's I thought it was one of the yet. I I didn't expect that to happen. But it's a I thought it was one of the better shows of the year. So someone someone sends me some recommendations of some other British shows the one we're on right now, it's called Happy Valley. I think we're for another six episode series. Which is amazing these British people have it th right way on TV only six votes per season. Do you have any recommendations from wells? I gotta get the accent down. I so Happy Valley is another one is it kinda reminds me of the movie Fargo in terms of like a crime gone wrong. I'm in Fargo's favorite movies ever. So I'm just gonna put it in terms of British Fargo. I really like it. I'm excited to see where it goes. Wait, hold on reading valley. Where wasn't I net flicks? Yes. I I like it gritter genius. By Michael Lombardi is what I've been reading lately we had him at our conference in June. He gave a great speech. He's a really good guy you and I got to spend some time with them highly recommend if you're an NFL fan. He's got some wonderful stories about Al Davis and Bill Walsh. So good. And finally, we watched the outlaw king on net flicks. Which is a movie with Chris pine in? It's something of a sequel to Braveheart Braveheart, which is kind of. Yeah. It's like Braveheart part two. I wouldn't say it's a good movie. But it was the first movie on Netflix. I saw that I thought holy cow. This is actually like a big budget movie, and it fell. Like, a good movie the ones on Netflix before I've always kind of felt like second tier, and this was still a poor man's Braveheart. And a lot of ways, but it kind of anything like I think Netflix is going to figure this out eventually and have some really good movies that are straight to Netflix sold. You bullish. I is this. So far Penn State's laying eight and in fact, some shops have gone to eight and a half out there in the marketplace. What do you think about this one Ralph? Well, you know, I have not gotten an update on Hornibrook obviously had some head injuries. And he's listed as questionable. You know? I think they need a man to have a chance here. He's out. This doesn't surprise me. You know, and you wanna talk about to we talked about Miami being an underachieving team. I mean, we can add these two teams to the Mex. But Wisconsin still the difference is Penn State has lost all their goals while I was kansin is tied for second in the big ten west and they lost north. They're still only a game back. So there is potential. They can get their goals. You know, it's gonna be a long shot. But there's a difference when you're playing college football, and you have a shot to get your goals versus having your goal shattered, which Penn State ten you know, I've gone back and forth in this game. And to be honest with you, I don't. It like other team. It's just one of these games that you know, I try to play the game out in my head as I'm handicapping it. Looking at the numbers looking at the situations that they've gone, you know, Wisconsin only having four hundred seventy three yards against Rutgers is an impressive. Wisconsin scoring thirty one points against Rutgers is an impressive. You look at the road. Yes, they've played northwestern and Michigan their last two games. But in those games, they've averaged three hundred yards in those two games..

So we started to see our gonna react to that great atmosphere. They're over Happy Valley and hopefully happy what's at stake. Geyer things Saturday, you know, they tend east championship and being able to compete for national championships, a big game coming up. This is almost like a playoff game. I can't wait to these. Go head to head Saturday night. We'd known each other for two minutes. Now the hit I get off us. You're really looking forward to why looking forward to what one, you You know. know, coach Franklin recruited me out of high school. So I know I know trace McSorley tweeted swirly went to high school in Virginia, so he trained together in high school. So it's like everyone that's on that team. I pretty much know to some degree, but you think. Do you come to house position? You go play. What's your first reaction when I bring up video. First reaction to that video is always like, wow, like, you know, I did it. What do you mean? I didn't like the dream was always to to go to school here. You know play, but not like to go when Heisman championship goals is to be at our state. And I felt like an accomplished that, then I'm sorry that I did that and a little game in vision, credit him. Forgive me that much confidence and that much envision to go to fill my dreams. But. Watching that video was like, wow, like that little kid knows what he wants and. We did it together. Basically, you know, there's plane here have opportunity play here and then starting nose drinking. Drinking. James Franklin had no chance with that vision board stuff. Doing when he was back in fifth grade. These are two of the top scoring offense as in the country. So we know that this game will likely points points, points, points points, try to keep up between exhorting and Haskins day. Who do you see having a better game? What do you think has more passing yards? We've seen mix early in this atmosphere before, so I don't think he's going to be shook by whatever house state throws at him. We haven't seen the way Haskins of this type of atmosphere is going to be bananas. I mean, the White House, one of the most intimidating atmosphere fears and all the college football. McSorley just built for this. You know what means may for this moment. He's battle-tested. He has his guys ready. He exudes confidence feed off. So he's the greedy gas, lack of Bob McSorley these town don't forget like you pointed out early. He can use his feet to go use his legs and make some plays. Keep the chains moving. Ask us is is much of a run even though he can't run. That's not his default. Three hundred yards on the ground there from here, and it's interesting you said passing yards. So this makes his very easy. Haskins we'll have more passing yard. Total yards is when it starts to get sticky because you've seen McSorley legs are going to be a big part of the game plan, but Haskins special. I mean, this can spin it any way on the field anywhere you want, and he puts it on the numbers receivers for how state looks so much better this year. A lot of the same guys because puts it on the money and the yards after the catcher there because it's such a good passed. So he's, he's gonna get his, he's going to get his for sure. Haskins has not been pressured much. Now this year, Penn State would do well to maybe change that in this big match. And actually the only quarterback who has a better rating this year than Haskins will Greer over at West Virginia. Exactly are pretty excited about what he's doing over there with his slot. Here, Penn State. Live. Center after cardinals and cubs today with stage.

"Don't have on those who believe you can go and they should be able to go to me. It's like I said, coaches, they leave universities often leave their programs all the time, but people they get all up in arms. If a player wants leave, he wants to transfer. Why is the the double standard when this player in that a coach? So I don't think coach, he got some coaches when a kid wants to transfer talking about long to go here, but you can't go there. Right? That's ridiculous to me and you don't need the permission now you frankly inform them that you're moving on, is that put you into a databa- database pool, and then that's how it goes. That part of the equation is out. Coach can no longer say you're staying. I still think the law of unintended consequences is going to be this poaching from other. Programs. There's going to be in season recruiting and you face basically created a free agency period doesn't have to happen in week. Five can happen in week, seven. If a guy hasn't played the four games. I mean, this could happen late into a season as well, and that affects the team even more. That's something to keep an eye on. Exactly, right. I know there's coaches who are calling. Hey, it helps the team to. I mean, it does help a team if you have a rash of injuries near the end of the year and you haven't played a kid now you can put them in for two or three games. "Here on the campus, Penn State university in a month between Penn State and Ohio State tomorrow night game day. Obviously, here tomorrow morning, it will be absolutely Rockin Kelly Bryant, no longer a member of the Clemson Tigers despite what most would consider very successful run with the team. He's taken his talents elsewhere. So we decide now guys, obviously taking advantage of this new transfer rule going now on the set by gene Roja house who admittedly is my favorite. Air crew. Jio they love Gino. There were just bleeding with you on this one or do you like the transfer of what transpired here? I have no problem with what happened here. This has been seventeen years in the making, and no rule is perfect, and certainly you can clip will with how this all played out. But he took advantage of the rule is written Davos Sweeney certainly handled it. I thought, as well as you could handle the situation, he gave them options, Kelly, Bryant considered them, he decided to move on. So I think everybody did what they're supposed to do in this case, I don't think we're gonna have accused these guys do. I don't think it's going to be a huge problem by the end of the day. All right word. He's saying though McCloskey at Oklahoma state, I think we're gonna see. I'm pretty sure to talk about that. I heard about that. Fire me. So it really doesn't matter probably will some point, but I think this will become more of an epidemic. And I just I, I hate the rule and I want the rule to go away. I think I think the rule should be pertaining to freshman and sophomore or first and second year players, right? That's what I want the rule to be. I don't want it to be. I just think it listen. I'm not upset with the kids. So let's get this. I Kelly Bryant has the right to do this. I'm not mad at him, but just like Jebeit Nebraska. Just like Brian. Now the team is suffering because of it clemson's going to suffer because of this Nebraska suffering because of this with one injury away from now. I just, I just don't. I don't like what I heard the rule that that would David. I only pertained to like freshmen sophomores. I'm like, this is great because if you have a guy, lack of Trevor Lawrence coming in and you want to get him some some meaningful reps he can play for gay things are shaking out, hey, he still be arrays shirt, freshman. So that's the way I thought when it came to the situation with Kelly Bryant, I like, wow, I never looked at it this way by mall ways a fan of rules that support the players, anything that can level the playing field for the players. I'm a player advocate. Some always in support of that. As I, I respect his decision. You keep in mind. This is a guy who spent all those years behind Shawn, Watson waiting. His turn witness turn took them to the college football playoff a year ago. And then he thinks maybe in four games, he didn't get a fair shake, especially after the way he played the Texas AM game. So his Phillies hurt, he's probably bears. I completely. Understand why he made a decision that he did and I don't fault him one iota. Do you think that coaches should handle it a certain way? Should they be open to letting these players move on if they feel like opportunities elsewhere, or should they say like you have a commitment to the team stick to your?.

"It was going to be in books opportunity, take a badge of being a starting. He did it against Wake Forest now. I think they're often is going to be a little more. Prolific. So yeah, I like book at the quarterback position. I think this is the only way that Notre Dame gets to the college football playoff this had to happen. He went twenty four thirty five last week and listen. I don't get this twisted Dez. I don't think he's going to be a guy that throws for over three hundred everywhere, but he's a guy that hits free, throws Brandon wimbush kill O'Neil. He missed a lot of free throws. It wasn't dominance. Shaquille. He may. He missed too many easy throws. He's the guy that will move the sticks, throw it on time and he had three rushing touchdowns last week too. He can use his legs. He's he's a really good athlete as well. This gives Notre Dame a chance to win every game until the playoffs. Not when they get in the playoffs because that's that'll be a different story. But until that point, I think so let's go to the sideline. There are decided raise and let Stanford did against Oregon that taking that game and really grasping. Is that what you call. More though. Right? Beat on or around the round. Are you buying Stanford after the way they performed against Oregon? Nope, I'm not buying them. Listen. I think the first of all the run game is not even close to dominant. As we saw in the past throw game is better. They're they're a little bit more balanced, but after seeing them live, I think they're a good team. I don't think they're a team that can go toe-to-toe with the best teams in the country and win on Bryce love, or is it on the play calling. I think it's the offense of lines, not as dominance. I thought it would become into the season and so. Combined, they have to start coming back off as land. We Notre Dame, it's not play call. It's not about the deepest guys are saying, listen, we're going to stack the box for eight guys guys the box, and we're gonna. Dare you throw the ball with Jay Castillo and to his credit though he's been playing well enough as you know. People think they still game last last week, but just think about this. They were getting handled, right? They could afford it. Their team gotta, give them credit for be resilient to hang in there. Sticking with your plan. It was just like it was a typical, in my opinion. A typical David Shaw style of game type of panic? Exactly. We're going to do what we do until it works. So you gotta give them credit for doing what they do is sticking with it until they won the game quickly who needs this win more Stamford. Today. Notre Dame with these four because they're independent. Championship gay thing. Staffers got a lot more test down the road as well. Game and Washington and tough too big games this weekend. From what I've seen from Penn State defense, I don't trust them to get stops consistently. I think the key is going to be tracing sorely legs. He runs the football more this year. It's less passing attack. They're not as good through the air as they were, but he's gonna pull the ball and run it a lot and him in mouse. Sanders on the ground are lethal. So I think his feet running will be the x factor in the ballgame. Ohio states got a great front, but that's a handful to deal with state and Penn State bowl have a penchant for giving up the big plays. We'll have to be able to good nuggets tale. Head to head tomorrow night. The loser of this game, though, guys because we're always looking for playoff implications. Do the loser of this game themselves on the outside looking in? I don't think so. We've been here before. Right. House, they lose the Penn State couple of years ago, but then they end up going to the college football playoff they went, but it was. I think this game is early enough to whoever loses they Kim bounceback and still make it to the college football playoff we get. So this is the time of year always everybody looks at Alabama and Clemson and all these teams at the top, and they're like, they're going undefeated. Those teams are going now last year, Clemson loss to Syracuse, there is up sets that are coming. So we're guardless if Penn State Ohio State loses this game, they're one hundred percent still in the playoff race. If they run their schedule. And when the other team start to lose. Lhasa Auburn, yeah, with love for the opportunity for two of its teams to be considering. Outcome of this game is, but the SEC so strong this year it's to be tough for them to chip is strong this year. Over. Right. This day, we tried this to another big game taking place this weekend that is Stanford versus Notre Dame guys. And this will be a big one as well that potentially could affect both of these teams as they try to get into the college football playoff, what impact will the decision that Brian Kelly made to go with new quarterback Ian book over Brandon wimbush make on the outcome of this game? You know, to be honest with us, all that coming when they play Michigan, we were up there for that game biscuit thought that Brandon wimbush was the same quarterback. So year ago, even though they completed some passes, it was more fifty, fifty balls. His receivers were making plays the next week they played against boss state. He threw three in the substance to it just tells you the same quarterback in if you want to advance this office start to really use these weapons. You get up with a quarterback in there who could do more than just run. So to me, the writing was on the ROY war..

"We are here on the campus of Penn State. Taking a look at beaver stadium that place is going to be absolutely rocket tomorrow night. When the Nittany lions posts buckeyes of Ohio State get rid. There's the buck. Hanging out here. On campus. Everybody. Or that eight months for match up many. Thank you for joining us year on college football live, Jen Ladda and the usual suspects Dez, David, we're gonna get you set for what they said. Penn State versus Ohio State big game with potential playoff implications. Certainly in the big ten guys. Let's talk about that game and start with this Ohio State wins does if Blake think the book is win. This game of DeWayne Haskins can handle this atmosphere. Now they had a quote unquote away game down that gets TCU's the quotes because I seventy thirty seventy thirty guys fast, like an way home game for the buckeyes. This is going to be a totally completely different atmosphere for Dwayne house. 'cause obviously stays deep is gonna come after him, make them uncomfortable, but this the white out is one of the best atmospheres atmospheres and all the. He's able to handle this situation tomorrow night. I think the buckeyes win if they outscore Penn State because Penn State's going to get there. I mean. No, I'm saying it's gonna be highest. You might ask is in this environment score thirty plus at least yeah, because Penn State is good as house as defense is Penn State with mile standards. Caja hamblur trace McSorley pulling the trigger, they're gonna get theirs. They're gonna give. So they'd better score a lot of points. If they wanna win. Last time I checked the over under it was over seventy. So you're right about for each team. Does pens this game. However, if make a playoff special teams, why not? Right. That's when these two teams play. It normally comes down to specialties, play here there and they have some outstanding returns. You mentioned k. Jay hamblur offers.
Ohio State football has everything at stake against Penn State
"We got Penn State Ohio State this weekend, and it's a playoff game. It is, what do you expect? Well, and to your point, people always like expand the playoff and go to eighteen sixteen teams. This is a playoff game. It is. This is an elimination game. I'm going to be at another one up. These are the games and we talk about this game on this show because with that playoff predicted that tells you even if you were just an essay. Person, and that's all you watch. You don't watch any game outside of the conference. You need to keep an eye on this one because you're going to see more than likely one of these teams because listen that play predictor at Penn State where to win this game this weekend, they're the ones that are gonna take over that number four spot. I expect shootout and going into the year, honestly before I was there and personal Saturday, I'm might not have believed that Ohio State could keep up in a shootout with trace McSorley and Penn State. Dwayne Haskins is, is the truth may legit, oh, he's the truth. And there's a reason Joe boroughs at LSU. Yeah, Joe borough is at LSU because Dwayne Haskins beat him out for the Ohio State quarterback job. They engaged in quite a battle during the spring Haskins ultimately wins at I in Happy Valley all day Tuesday. I'm doing a big feature for sportscenter on Saturday on one of a Penn State's offense of linemen. And I talked spoke extensively with James Franklin who you see here, not only for that feature but about his team. He loves his team. They lost a ton offensively. This saquon Barkley to the New York Giants day. Sean Hamilton was one. Of the best and most underrated wide receivers in the country. Last year they got bowlers. So you would expect, okay, they're going to fall off authentically, oh, Appalachian state gave them all they could handle in week one that was actually a great learning experience with this group. So they have resorted all trace McSorley does is win. He is tougher than woodpecker lips man. And I think this one is going to be attract me. I agree with you, and it's going to be so fun to what I learned this from you that trace McSorley won four consecutive state championship, all he does win. All it does all that that young man does is win football games
Ohio State Buckeyes draw criticism for message of 'silence' tweet
"Up. But I do you wanna talk about another major matchup, Ohio State Penn? State Ohio State Penn State Saturday night number four and number nine big game huge game primetime. Happy Valley will be rocking. And you might expect Penn State is making it a whiteout game in that can be pretty intimidating, in fact, very intimidating crazy hostile loud environment. But Ohio State has a plan. They're rallying their fans. And they're starting it on Twitter with this tweet quote silence. The white noise hashtag go box. Hashtag win the moment in the graphic. If you've not seen this is of a football player with his finger to his lips. Tips and the word silence in all caps in white on a red background above him. We just repeat that for you. Ohio states message going into this game is quote silence. My message is w Tf because and correct me if I'm wrong here. But your football program has just spent the last couple of months embroiled in a scandal. That was all about silence and silence is going to be the word that you want to use before this game. Maybe it's just me. But if I worked at a school, there was dealing with a scandal involving silence, I probably would not be using that word to fire up my fan base. And if I worked at a school there was dealing with more than one hundred allegations of sexual misconduct involving a school doctor and a lawsuit about a former coach of the schools diving club sexually abusing a former athlete and a federal investigation into the handling of abuse allegations. I definitely would not be splashing in the word sign. Silence on Twitter. But that's just me quick question. What's worse than tone-deaf that tweet? I don't know a word or a phrase that can actually sum this up. I mean, does Ohio State not know how that comes across or are. They just not give a damn no, really. I wanna know. I ask because I really can't figure out what the answer is. I mean, do you really want to invite people to build a game between Ohio State and Penn State as these silence

"So i have not seen top of lake season wom an eyewash one episode of top of the late trying to go and i was quite confused yes so this is an interesting point about this because i think everyone thought it was going to be a lot more standalone than is actually turned out to be because the first series i've watched two of the six or seven episodes i think and i though i don't really know what happens and i thought i could start season too and it would just be the same detective but a different place different case all this kind of stuff but actually i think they've made the decision to bring far more of the detective's personal narrative into it via and therefore it a dozen full you know what's happening in season to coach is obscene all criticism noted too know i think possibly the reason they did that was because of elizabeth mosses performance on the way that audiences responded to the character as one is just the plot in the narrative and we just have an absolutely the insatiable desire for like troubled detectives i know gene it just like the ultimate character like i mean iif as as discussed before and seriously like i've been watching happy valley the thing i love about happy valley is the lead jeff obviously in hub story and all of those skandia knaw zev like like i like brunei shah showed tried to munching broad treasury they david tenant and broach yes like that detective was my wife tight will these kinds of things like yes sir.
