John Bolton's Damning Indictment of Trump

"Police reform two Supreme Court rulings to Juneteenth many of the week's biggest stories involved the president of the United States we're starting off with a new book by his former national security adviser John Bolton who did not testify in the impeachment proceedings but who broke his silence this week with his new book coming out next week the room where it happened is his account of working under president Donald Trump in it Bolton warns of the president being taken advantage of by foreign adversaries I think Putin thinks he can plan like a fiddle I think Putin is smart tough I think he sees that he's not faced with a serious adversary here I don't think he's worried about Donald Trump he claims the president's only focus was winning again in twenty twenty I think he was so focused on the reelection that longer term considerations fell by the wayside describing his presidency in terms of obstruction of justice as a way of life John Bolton said Donald Trump simply isn't up to the job the president may well be a superb deal maker when it comes to Manhattan real estate dealing with arms limitation treaties on strategic weapons dealing in many many other international security issues are things far removed from his life experience Fulton disputes the book contains classified information but top Intel officials warn it could cause grave damage to national security both gave his first interview to ABC chief foreign correspondent Martha Raddatz it's airing at nine o'clock Sunday night this week I talked to Martha about her interview the significance of Bolton's accounts and what it all might mean for the country this book there is so much in it for everything from president trump is a radical irrational foolish stunningly uninformed was there any one thing that stood out in this beside some of those comments the book is just briefly job drop paying page after page and the interview is as well John Bolton says this is just a book of facts what happened during his seventeen months in the White House I think it's so important to remember he is the highest ranking official who's written such a comprehensive book like this while a president is still in office he told us he concluded from all that he saw that the president isn't fit for the office of president I don't think he has the confidence to carry out the job there really isn't any guiding principle that I was able to discern other than what's good for Donald trump's re election was very firm about that and that is an extraordinary statement for someone to make about a sitting president yeah I'm structure of justice as a way of life expelled on them he talks a lot about what happened during the Ukraine back and forth John Bolton of course as you remember did not testify during the impeachment hearings and he's been heavily criticized for that but he says he thinks that the hearing should have been expanded they should have looked at other things that the president has done with foreign leaders if he does not say that they are are impeachable but he says it's possible their peach bowl and he's talking about relationships with with China with other foreign leaders with Turkey and he says some of these foreign leaders cannot wait to get in a room alone with president trump without aids without Bolton so they could make a better deal for themselves what does that mean as somebody who has covered global affairs for such a long time as you have looking forward for even just the next few months of this presidency or possibly the next four years if the president is reelected all when it comes to foreign policy in American security one of the things the president said is that parts of this book are classified and that they could harm national security and when you ask John Bolton about that I mean he clearly says a lot about what was said inside the rooms with these foreign leaders because John Bolton was there trump says he's a liar but whatever those stories are out there and I said look doesn't that harm national security that John Bolton is writing about foreign leaders and he said look it's not anything those foreign leaders don't know I think what John Bolton says about the president not being prepared for these meetings those are alarming statements I am I'm sick of my own preparation for that was that for the Singapore summit in the Hanoi summit and and you really want to read up on those things and you know John Bolton saying the president did not and wasn't prepared for them but foreign policy in the country Bolton will say it's been harmed if there is another four years it could be harmed further according to Bolton what's the overall reason for this book do you think I can only tell you what John Bolton says and he said he wanted to get just the facts out of what he saw that he thought they were important to get out that he thought it was important for people to hear what the president said and John Bolton clearly is concerned about the presidency and about the future I think that is why he wrote this book it is almost six hundred pages all I can say is that John Bolton insists he did not write this to settle scores he says he wrote it to let the American people know what goes on in the White House with president trump

North Korea says it sees little reason to maintain ties to Trump

S. president and the north Korean leader was supposed to be a turning point but very little was agreed a second summit in Hanoi eight months later field after Washington asked Pyongyang to give up a large proportion of its weapons program before receiving sanctions relief the statement by the song one accused the trump administration of using these summits to score political points he claimed the White House made empty promises and said that North Korea would never again for Washington to deal with that it's getting anything in return Mr ri also said that Pyongyang would continue to build weapons to combat the threat from the US and that is the BBC's Laura

The Wisdom of Solitude: Lessons from the Lives of the Prophets

"We look at the lives of the prophets to see what we can learn from something. We're supposed to do all the time. Anyway I something that lesson hunting with the other. He wants us to do. That's why he sa- panel with the honor. His put their stories in on We have more detail about them in the highly. And so I wanted to begin by looking at the life of a Ubani Saddam when he says what are you ignore? The Obama who anemia sunny. A little while under Rohani And mentioned a you when he cool to his Lord Indeed. Adversity has touched me. And you are the most messy full Over the muscle said you by the Senate on this Great Prophet of Los Apparently Data. Who many of us have heard of many people love it? They love him so much that they named their children off to the U. Many many a UBIQUONOL massage school. It's families what was so great about this prophet. And what lessons can we take from his life now in in the Times that we're in this situation of where without tells us here in the NBA? He called on a loss of Hanoi Thailand and mentioned a you when he called his Lord. Indeed adversity has touched me. So you buddy. Saddam he says to us about Sapan Donna in Nima Sunny Doda. That has afflicted me something by this happened to me. Then also handle the data in the next Jeopardize the Hoof Akasha abby he indoor The Dallas so we responded to him and removed what afflicted him of adversity will add a now. Who who Miss American or Indiana where they could only live and we gave him back his family and the like there with them as mercy from us and a reminder for the worship of a law so you about this profitable east from the most beloved of creation to Those special human beings that were chosen by a lesson with due to the cleanliness of their hall due to day connection the commitment to a lesson and this great prophet. He's then tested. He's given test that. He can be Shaab that he can take because without a dozen tests. Us doesn't afflicts us with anything that we can't handle you live alone of sin in there was he had a wife. He had children. He added family. He had well he had looks. He had all these things he had a place in society and loss of handle what he tested Ubani Saga by afflicting him with a disease within a an ailment and this caused him to become repulsive to the people he's his skin was was covered in these In this disease and people when they saw him they were repulsed by his life. They didn't want to go near. And so for being this person who was wealthy family Mixed and went about his business went about society about with people as he as we do. He went from that to being somebody who no one wanted to be around. Nobody wants you to see. And he became almost completely cut off. He had His wife who remained him. And there's a evidence from That they were a couple of other people but apart from that you belie Salaam has lost that position that he had amongst you know. Just going about people mixing with them talking to them socializing with that He loses his family and he loses his wealth and of course he's lost his health. Now he doesn't in this area also says you will listen. He says to almost a Muslim. Hi Donna way you if neither a robot who anemic do. He says the. I've been afflicted with adversity. Are you ready? Salaam? Does it make donahue. He just states the fact that I've been afflicted And so powerful that sufficient that was sufficient for a loss of Hannibal at the IDA to know what he wants what he saying and a lust soprano Diana says Though that we answered he's He's plea what he wanted. Even though it's not expressly woods he wanted a lawsuit Hainan with either to alleviate his suffering to fix the situation that he was also colonel. Valla he does the Removes Fiction And obviously he spoke he cool to lessen hand with after say what he was going through with lots of. Hanno with allies names and characteristics that he was looking appeal to at that time. We chose Hamill rocking that you are the most musset full out of those who are masterful. And so this is something that you know the Alabama they often speak about the when you make and you're looking for something from a lesson planning with then use those names those attributes of the loss of Hanuman Island which which linked to the that you're asking for so if it's For example you know we want a lesson hundred dollar to help us We may talk about you. Know we And here you ballet. Salamis looking for balance you have messy upon him and alleviate suffering so he speaks about messy Hanno with either as made his Story reminded fos that no matter what where afflicted we've now specifically in these days they're also people have fallen ill and they're suffering from that. There are those people who've Suffered the loss of livelihood in the same way as Saddam did there are those people who Who are losing family members? They themselves might be fine. Themselves may have gotten better but they have lost family members. So this only things that we may be going through now that Similar to what you really. Saddam expires. a lot of the The impact the effects of the time that we're leaving in the things that we're going through Not even GONNA become a power for a while When things start to settle and the economy in companies et Cetera et CETERA. Start to get back up to speed report. What's going on? We may find a lot. More people are affected their livelihood affected more than we know now because right now he's still a time of uncertainty. So we see we will happens. What's to come but the time that we're in now And the time to come whatever time it may be cool for something which is central to the story of. Are You Ready Center? And that. His patients his sub. We'll talk about that a bit later. what does patients look like? Now in our time patients would be when we were afflicted when something's difficult Is facing us so I do know some brothers who have lost their jobs One of others. He called me yesterday and spoke to me about the fact that he's sees Joel So these people don't know that for a fact now and there's those that don't know that for sure at the moment when something like that happens. There is an inclination forms. You know in some of us for many reasons It may be because of our background. They may be because away from that when something bad happens when something difficult happens the first instinct is to turn to some of those bad things from our background so someone may tend to drugs. Someone may may tend to You know other things other things. I don't mention them in the fear that people think it's okay to time to these things Because it's not a loss without when he speaks about patients and that's why we're talking about. It's not what is patients. Look like that when these things happen when these hardships they strike then a less Hannah what the ISLA expects from us that we tend to him. that's what patients looks like. We turned to him in Dora. We to humidity bad. We tend to him in controlling our our souls and containing ourselves. No not saying not doing things which will be displeasing to handle data and some of us have and some of us. Have you know so The person that I was speaking to that was one of these big fees that my initial reaction was not a good one but not much to handle without food or she and and I reminded the Butler that we can always make you turn into a lesson on it and we should in the doer of told by his own.

US declares Coronavirus a public health emergency

"But so far two hundred and fifty nine people are have died from this virus there's nearly twelve thousand cases worldwide seven confirmed here in the USA late yesterday president trump declared a public health emergency foreign nationals from China or those who have visited China within the past two weeks will now be banned from entering the US and U. S. citizens who've been there during that time will not be quarantined for up to fourteen days upon their return so like to know what are you seeing out there regarding the corona virus that it maybe has you most concerned and our listeners around the country should be aware of well concern is just fifty increasing numbers the latest ones for this hour twelve thousand and twenty four the vast majority literally ninety nine percent are in mainland China so the things that the Chinese government is doing to quarantine people and keep it in in that country seem to be fairly successful this time some courage about that however the numbers go up every single day okay so doctor Spengler as you know every virus has its own unique characteristics and and certain precautions that come with that what do you recommend for those who are listening whether they're traveling abroad meeting obviously to China but just in general are kind of precautions and scenarios the things we should be doing all along because there's viruses that this hi but other types throughout the world all over the place so we should be washing our hands we should be carrying a small bottle of the alcohol based hand sanitizer we should be waiting offer tray tables on the plane we should be wiping the phone we get into our hotel room so things like that just routine think that we should be doing every single day to prevent the flu will also work against the coronavirus we believe that being said remember we've known about this virus for about a month now and you had a great deal of research on it and we know what it is there's a test for it but still no vaccine end up here doctor I ready back so here I am in actually in Hanoi in north we have northern part of Vietnam today and that's about seventy percent of the people walking around town have face masks on Morse and I wonder I understand that that one of the dangers of this particular strain of the supply of viruses that you don't know you have it for four or five days yet you can pass it on what her symptoms are travelers like I am should be looking for sure that's the the newest thing I suggest this week that there are people who have been exposed to people who are a symptomatic later they become in a sense because maybe come symptomatic and then what it turns out the the work contagious we got our first really contagious when you had a fever when your coffee what have you but now it turns out probably earlier than that again it's kind of like the regular old clue so what we want for would be fever cough congestion it's basically flu symptoms if the first cousin of gold who ate beef which we see every year worldwide which killed literally hundreds of thousands of people every year and should be taking the exact same precautions insane watch full yeah that person over here so the room is coughing let's be careful okay so we see airlines canceling flights tour operators making changes cruise ships refocusing some trips and as you said ninety nine percent of the corona virus outbreaks are in China so besides the new rules that the president instituted this week is there anything else that you'd like to see being done to limit the spread or do you think there you know we're doing a good job globally overall so I think globally to CDC and the who World Health Organization are doing a very good job and they did very complimentary of the Chinese government what they've been doing it can literally impossible to quarantine sixty million people we all know that but they put the education out there to their public and they allow the world to know the sequence of the virus has the world for their help it's back to be very present another who's been very very complimentary do has it in you made a public health emergency of international concern declaration again this is more of a political and money type thing that medical in that it says yes this is something that could become a pandemic throughout the world and could be very devastating we need to all work together not to say which China's problem don't worry about it we all need to work together the richer countries the poor countries to assist each other well that's a good point that you make you know and certainly there is a balance between public safety and the economics out there because travel is such an important part of the world economies and we all understand I think at this point that China is the epicenter for the coronavirus outbreak but are there other areas of the world but you're also watching maybe with some concern for greater outbreak well we now know that the Chinese love to travel I need a huge portion of the economic does come to China has been focused on travel people leading China with that coming out and disappearing that's me very problematic certainly the local areas the the Hong Kong the the Taipei's what have you are certainly worrisome but again very few cases there so where I would be concerned would be if this comes to a country that does not have the infrastructure and the medical where with all to combat it into isolated so not necessarily United States or Canada let's talk about Africa South America someplace like that aren't really last question first and again we appreciate you joining us today we are talking to doctor William Spangler he is the global medical he leads to global medical team for a I G. travel if someone feel they've contracted the corona virus in or perhaps maybe they have been exposed to someone who has her there are only as I just said seven confirmed cases here in the United States at this point so it really is something that we want to just be clear about but what do you suggest would be the next step of the fall sure remember only one of those was person to person so if you haven't been to China or being around someone who's been to China in the past two weeks not to worry and certainly season I working her to form to see the day in Salt multiple cases of flu so you need to make sure that when you go to the position that you plan to see that you tell them back from her third call before and say Hey I have been to China I've not been to China and that would make a difference there is a test it takes a few days as you go to the C. seeing that Lana so it does take awhile but we also know the a plain old clue are playing all cold and that certainly has to be done first okay wearing a facemask fast no there should be people that are symptomatic or sick there we go okay okay well

"To run the enrich loyalty program at Malaysia Airlines ominous. No longer doing that but has done that. And a lot of other bits in the space before and agreed I believe I have several beers in Singapore maybe the most expensive production episode ever but agreed to sit and chat a little bit today about some of the stuff you've seen in the industry over the years and sort of where it's going on so welcome thank you go for. You had to look on your face. Ace We're GONNA say something hell. It was just an added to the introduction. There were a bunch of a bunch of guys who we've we've all been in. Senior management allies will run out of career. Sixteen or the world of experience there. It's kind of cool to share was happening in different parts of the world because we worked in in South East Asia would never ever woken mold. America it's good that you bring that up because we've had these conversations at conferences never in North American that I think about it but we don't have something to you in London. Asia sort of China China. Yeah we've had some of these chance but how different is loyalty. Globally like is are there people like in Europe. That are listen to this podcast. Every week. It'd be like talking about. We have to get America. Also say that about us but when we talk about largest offer is is it. Is it really that different. I think so. I mean I think most of us are going to send. The Lati- is traditionally is credit. Cards programmes elite status. Airline lounges. Sort of stuff is the is the shiny cards. It's the mouse. And especially North America's Israeli driven by interchange of the banks which is not regulated down like it is in a lot of Southeast Asian countries Europe's regulated down. And so just I understand. That's the one nice. Try Card my Visa Card. The merchant pays to three or four percent to the bank. The bank gives me some of that back in terms of points shepherd and in the rest of the world world outside North America. Basically that you can't get percent you get two different countries different breaches your point. Four percent which is is virtually nothing Malaysia. where I live is the one percent Australia? Singapore where we are now is is is not regulated yet so a lot of that drives the credit card and the bank loyalty usage airline miles with the bank the more likely to fly the more invested in the program for Sunday. You're building a new Mazda balanced pasta than you. Otherwise would if you adjust flying so it's catching people people that are not necessarily frequent flyers maybe consensus so this is really big in America. Where your ability to earn miles is greatly increased compared into other regions therefore the way you look at the way in Iraq with a part on the way you fly the whole? The Monchique is different to Southeast Asia. Especially taxation his Asia low cost airlines has ruled supreme in Asia Asia. Massive is a very strong radio program could be better. I think After better you sort of made the argument that if you've got the loyal customers loyal Gio Brandon anyways. You've got you've got the so you've got the service that they like you've got the rap structure they like and you're in theory chief does the points matter Devil Delta another airline where people people generally like the product a lot Ted. This pretty good operationally. You can rely on the good strong brandon pretty solid. They have drastic changes in the market. And it's like you fly lie Delta Gouzer Goodell on going pretty good always law towers. There's American Hilas. The loyalty program is kind of pulling passengers passengers along. It's it's the it's the leading product I have it's issues and so you can you can you can get over some delays. You can get over. You know bad food you can get over. Average lounges. If there's an awesome those who program because that's kind of making you forget things. Yeah it's a bit of a different strategy fully and in southeast Azazel follow cost airlines. Do they need to program. I mean they they will do deals with banks gala points and cash into the business high margin cash as well local state aligns margin news. Everything is so co Grande Caccia. They look and feel of instances and automatic debit cards BRANCHVILLE. It's interesting I mean. Here's Singapore here in Malaysia about Malaysia. Okay 'cause it's interesting that there is a debit card with the regulated regulated interchange. And they looking for one mile per dully spend it might be get this cod And so again in relation to the Asia he paid of has for two prepaid mastercard. And when you use pay day you get like the discounts on baggage and transaction fees on the website is different top of okay. So you're not you're loyalty isn't the points it's direct it's branding than its direct discount on these stuff should be a frequent traveler. Okay so yeah yeah. I mean I could argue that especially in this market or what. I what I think of as the el-sisi market in Asia which may be completely wrong. The value of free checked bags EXC is greater than the value of points. I could collect for our future flight when I bought my tickets around. I flew from Hanoi. Kale to see you Days ago I I paid a hundred and twenty dollars all into that ticket which was expensive. You know an area checkoff whatever three and a half hours probably barely covered the house but it was eighty eighty dollars in on about seventy five or eighty dollars for the fair and then had to check a bag. That was really heavy. So twenty five dollars for the bag ten dollars or eight dollars for the seats maybe lesson. I couldn't get into the hot seat but not the actual offseason by eight dollars for the seats farmers row to not bulkhead not baulk road to so they're hot hot seats. So you're at the front of the plane but they don't have after legroom. Save costs a possible fast off in an empty metal and I appreciate your sh sh- blessed the meals so in fact I had better food. The British business zero to two meals on Airasia of another ten dollars so I think that altogether got me to my one twenty-five but if my backseat was my half and I was saving ten dollars goes on every flight I took. That would be more valuable to me than the points. I could have earned on an eighty dollars ticket right Earn rates that you get in the states with five dollar. Eighty four hundred points nominally. That's about four dollars of points. Maybe six you get a good redemption. I get ten every time for half price bag. Actually better value. Being Loyalty Program is revenue earning as well and it does a good job of keeping loyal to Air Asia specifically not even us and our partners and and and third party whatever. So That's interesting. It's sort of goes back to the. Is it really that different here. And we've come a long way around and say maybe you're

"We actually just if people didn't get their bags. Yes we unloaded the whole plan like seven minutes. That's a nice people with what she's getting their bags. Which is amazing like? I don't even think it's seven minutes. Eskimo took a little longer but I took around. We're getting off them on the overhead bin spur empty nothing eh up to check back so you have a strict and some people could manage. I don't either they gain something. Whatever David Restricts seven kilo limit carry on which it sky bus they can take the Nazis were people that have dominated by white with like a small role aboard or whatever but they with carry on bags morning goes faster declining. It goes faster like I just there's something to be set for. That experience in it helps that baggage claim went quickly every time yeah. I mean no more than ten minutes till our bags aroud. I think that's like a that is a crucial point right. You have a strict limit in use perform on the other end where you get the bags out quickly people onto wait. It's not a fight. It's certainly doesn't hurt now. How long would it take American Airlines. The board of two hundred thirty seat eight twenty one forty five minutes forever forever. We wanted a jau now some seven W in just under twenty five minutes or so I did the domestic triple seven or seven over sixty with them and like I've gotten to the point now at least like us boarding times or like I start looking at my watch and like we're gonNA miss the flight like why are we delayed and they're announce anything. I'm getting mad at them and then they're like twelve minutes before departure departure like okay. Let's start boarding now and we push back early. It's like what what I was actually worried on the flight here from Rita because they came on. I started making an announcement Japanese. I'm like Oh crap. Here comes a delay 'cause they weren't opening boarding doors. A pilot has warned us that there might be succeeded for an extra five minutes after takeoff golf and we apologize for this house like Oh my God that book forget it here this worst carrier playing an excuse me. I need a revoking looking so I mean locate low cost carrier wise here in Vietnam. You would say bamboos probably the least of the low cost carriers and the jet is the low cost carrier. VEGANS as low cost. You're GONNA get jetstar. Pacific was right in the middle of that that good mix of like a comfortable seat tablet holder for some reason the next recruits a let's be clear nicer. Car seat isn't necessarily metal. It is Ricardo slimline. See you know like with the Max Planck. Time again is an hour. I guess it also part of me says at this point whether we love him or hate him where I'm used to it. You Know Your Butt's GonNa remember all three the airlines they operate like Tokyo with other crafts so that they do some flights. I gotta be careful. What you're picking are via jet plane earlier in the day came from South Korea so it was only like a four and a half hour quite right only four and a half hours in that state he would if it was the right price when we were. We did a wrap up at the airport that I put on twitter earlier and I was like you know the right. Answer is in these markets. Pay The extra and if I'm if I'm on Ryanair I absolutely pay for the bank or the always making check bags. It's not gonNA fight with him about it and like some I have done reiner without a check for a weekend trip but this was too much stuff but on Ryanair the jet I pay for the exit route and ironically I pay for it. It's usually like somewhere between twenty and forty dollars. It's not nearly as cheap but they are whether it'll be more full or or the people around me will be bigger or the the seat is tighter. Actually I think it's a bit more worthwhile thing here spend a couple of bucks in buy-up except like I also I did all these flights really didn't care didn't mind not having done that. So is it worth you know. The five bucks three bucks for extra legacy in yes because for our to have that little bit of extra comfort is really probably worth three dollars but also that's like three meals may not meals but at least three three snacks so oh yeah. I mean I think you know I think the link to the flights in if you're doing something intra Vietnam or Intra Southeast Asia times making two hours yet you know if you want to pay many extras not the area of flight from Hanoi to follow bar in a couple of weeks and you know it's one hundred twelve dollars base fair her face whatever before the all-star was what it was before. I'm sure I missed that prices gone up but I m sure that's like a three and a half hour flight that starts or sat up and in so like GonNa buy up to whatever the there's also not boss. It is a Hussy hotseat. we'll see what it costs. The probably probably yeah also I supposed to get up and go straight to work so while import yeah what's important link. I'm going to be visiting a vendor talking about how Wifi guesses got on his plans very interesting. I hope I'm still working on so still setting up meetings but that's the plan and that and then a conference later in the week yeah so you guys were in quay. Yep You did in a train from the train. Yeah train automobile who always motorbikes either the train from denying towards it thanked what and it was a solo so yeah it's the reunification expresses trainline here now and it's runs from all the way from go on to a few times a day. We did the that one segment and it's a three block times like two hours and forty five minutes it took longer we eh delay single track and at the way clear without of seagoing it was running late but also even like that. I was like Oh this is why it takes a long as we wait the single track now it takes a long because they go slowly because it's this single track rail like carved into the side of a cliff. A couple of hundred feet above of the ocean and like on fifteen is as fast as you're ever GONNA WANNA go on that was like super slow. We're talking about how long it took. It's only nine a hundred four kilometers to drive on the highway. Yeah even that takes a couple of hours. Grab bike was like fifteen nothing around the back of a moped for tuna captions that take your suitcase. There are a couple of tour operators here. Actually the duo like a freight forwarding where you drop your bag off in the morning and give you the keys to a bike doc and you rent the value right from all the way up throughout the course of a day and when you get here at the end you were trying to give you back your suitcase so you would you. Would you do that. No that's a long line of it's not unlike a ship Scooter Mike. I'm not experienced enough on a bike to that. I actually think it would be cool fun terrifying at times the shirt there's a couple of hours. I mean yeah I mean. The train was also terrifying at times but I heard it was beautiful. I really WanNa really give us were stunning. I wish they clean the windows yeah the train. It was interesting that they say it's their new cars and there's a plaque on it says twenty seventeen but that's must have been when the car was purchased and rebuilt from someone else who bought. I didn't like the early fifties they're pretty not. I mean they work they'd had air conditioning but everything was like Kinda Jerry together like they had Samson consumer grade. TV's hanging from the ceiling and regular audiovox speakers coming out the wall led lighting and even turned on the video like I wish I know it was it was annoying. Knowing this is Tom and Jerry episode somewhere in the middle and I hit a bit this it's when I've seen before it was I mean the seats for moderately comfortable so we bought uh-huh whatever not sleeper but like just the first class whatever sees they have because we're only. NFL A couple of hours during the day and there are sleeper berths available which looked actually Amtrak. I mean if you think about look an overnight trip from Hogan and city to trap is radical would recommend vietjet option. It's twenty five dollars. This is doing and I honestly in the trink properly more expensive at that point was Amtrak. You'd get somewhere to sleep other around here. The hotels are pretty cheap too. Yeah this missiles pretty cheap for sure and expensive and expensive yeah. It's not cheap. This isn't a hostile like what seventy bucks tonight. On the top end. We went with a nicer snowy but we upgraded rated from the no window. Superior Room has window ledge junior sweet. I get to experience that on the last night here because that's the only room I have no construction. Does I won't hear anything or see anything hear you scream but it's you know decent hotel in friendly people that set up food tour force today. We did that this afternoon into the brewery food tour pretty full so I wanNA talk a little bit about the experience of the city's. You guys did a lot of walking. was it is there a city to kind of stood out to you was a town. You might go back to eventually some point. I mean I I actually enjoyed. Both today in the different ways really small. There's not much one on there. it was certainly worth going in like we saw a temple and we saw the. Dow was killed Royal Lucille. The government seat not quite a castle but had some stuff comical is a lot more praying on tourists in way than there is in the larger cities they. I guess it's easier for them to target you there it. It took a little too much haggling to get anything done away as opposed to here where you just don't give you that individual hassle. I mean endless night. I know that here like you go shopping. You try to order something. That's GonNa be a fight over what it costs. Sometimes restaurants are pretty easy. Identities here like the numbers are on the walls. You can say no. This is the thing I ordered the price in in other words of life but it was a street food or something else that was a lot of how much we get from them so even like how much they say something. Someone absolutely no no no. It's this and I feel a little bit like an asshole fighting over twenty sentence by the point of the yeah and so I say relay and they are fine but it ends. It's not always only twenty five cents so we had a incident with whether guide went like the took a boat out to temple in the back to the castle whatever and it was like the the people in the hotel told us was a fifty dollars and get the boat for the day and the people the boat were like no. It's twenty dollars in his per person kind of thing and it was like even that this is what we want to go see the shit. We WanNa do it also next time I would say honestly just take a car the but it was nice but it wasn't worth. It wasn't I enjoyed the Nangle Ango. Denying was nice speech. Yeah it was really interesting as we're talking to the guy at the bar and when we got there he's like yeah used to live on the street that we're like. WHOA that's the hotel that guy used to rent an apartment and ended up blocked. One hundred fifty bucks a month ten now eight years ago when everybody said it was way too expensive that and it was crazy a. and now it's like Super Jumbo resorts none of that was the old desolate beach that people went to because they knew about it now over south beach literally like.

"Hello and welcome to Hanoi Annoy Annoy. Am I saying it right. I have no idea why are we recording. Yes the system. SOM is running. Oh that's how many lights was what the system is running. You're listening to dots lines is and destinations travel podcast with host. Stephen Seagraves falls moon and said Miller seven hundred we are in the Essence Palace hotel not the essence hotel which is completely different chain now. Is it up. Maybe that's expedia screwed up in transcending eight blocks away as you can tell yeah we have Jason joining us this week yes Jason Rabinowitz of flight radar and airline Flyer fame yeah. Let's go with that happy to be here here very very full right now. We just finished a food tour in old quarter of noise. Are we in the front. Do we cross the French area in the French district. I think you know there's there's no one to stop you when you do that so it's hard to tell no border control awkward invading France Reference Much love are we are the open some beers. I think we are talking about that. Some beers back what do we what do we drinking divy dark. which is the first star Beer? I've seen since we've been here. We've got Hanoi anouilh beer. which you know is as named things a logger and we've got Huda which is one of the other? Ooh The late on the WHO does the bridge in denial which is like two hands holding up the big which job who visit we did not we sort of forgot about that and then it was too late. That's apparently to get there. The world's longest suspended cable car really so I feel really bad now that we didn't got their mom very nice so we're going to start with Jason. You're the guest let me go with Bridge Beard Bridge Bear to go start. That's how we're going to reference it yeah so we'll get that goring but while we're going through this we should talk about other things why were here. It's so damn hot. Let's talk about what's going on here. Let's talk about why we're here. Think about some of us are here because Cafe Pacific perfect screwed up yes which a lot of people know about the New Year's Eve Fair mistake but someone get drunk at the Catholic Start Publishing. I think it was a form of protests that's Mike before. It started between he wants to be out of the coffee. That's all you and all bridge beer. This is operatives because we're all drinking. I've I bet here's Jomon we decided to our dates overlap seth from we were like oh I can come as early and yeah we're gonNA hang out and then randomly talking to Jason Rather than he smartly suggested practitioner visit yeah it's better than being in the office right now but manages regular ticket so yeah youth over here on Delta Yeah Delta reward I think fifty thousand miles laguardia on that skype pesos Laguardia Detroit Seoul Hanoi in the way Mac back go through Seattle which is a little different senior didn't on the Seattle the thirty neo yup strategically pick that one out of Detroit to get the three five nine through Seattle at the thirty nine hundred it'll taste of everything new and what's hilarious make it back to the Pacific northwest before me minor details. Maybe dropping my last segment than ending Seattle. Oh very nice yes yes. We'll see after I fly. It's hard to tell and I came over. I was thinking position for the Hanoi there. Are you at my parents how to handle. I I did Qatar via at JFK to denying or Dong Dong Dong Dong do dead head. That's definitely not that dead data's the airport. Oh yes. I don't doubt yeah it was. I he also somewhat strategically picked up a four hundred dollar one-way ticket like I'm two hundred so hard to skip that and be I was pretty confident that the loads would be late and I had an empty seat next to me for jeopardy. Doha and a whole row on the seventy seven for how to to denying so how how full was that flight delighted today. I was by far not the only I would hope to myself. There were several. It's a very odd. I think it's an online through winning the other two. I mean three do that. I don't know I would guess not uh-huh I look. I look for as a last award. I didn't see any I only saw him and I don't think emerets does and behind is like Mesa business on route that does not yes and no I think Qatar is definitely silently trying to pick up a some bilateral treaty route authorities childhood. Were like that could Victoria government hasn't voted in Minnesota. You did on out. Governments are somewhat loath to try to extend those by. I also think that I feel like Qatar has picked. I'm saying like more leisure focused. Ross necessarily but there's some I think it was a strategy. They are of a slightly different target. Market is not quite as you know. It's not they both still have a decent chunk of worker type. targets by the Qatar Airways routes they added like more beach resorts and less cities hosting going leisurely. GonNa Leisure a little bit yeah while the Ritz picking up city traffic and it's somewhat premium these your stuff I mean you know all that four hundred dollar one way ticket. Clearly is not premium flying around the world but the planes plains empty. GotTa Get rid of those seats somehow or you know. Stop the route. What's interesting is and I. I think there's only two people in business two WOW I. I think what's interesting. The Turkish Turkish lies to coachman city and to annoy yeah one. I believe one of them's that's triple seven thrived probably Ganja and then here's Nathan thirty and apparently does really well and a lot of connections in the United States. I think is an odd way to get here but you're from the east coast. It's it's this this closer to watch. It's twenty four hours. No matter what like I tried differently too fast Antonio basically from Hong Kong. It's maybe it's Mitch faster beyond. Maybe as much faster astor but yeah. I mean I took. I took Japan Airlines. I flew to JFK because I needed to drop overnight bag off in New York and the Flu Jake Rida Rida here. It's a twenty four hour fancy though I did. I did GEL I. What did you think Nice Very Nice. Did you have a right to yourself. I actually had yet well kind of only four people yeah yeah so. I had a bed in the middle seat. They made up everyone's beds in the middle. Had I just move out over when you're at the end. They're like whenever you WANNA sleep. That's a bit role across the and they ask you like. Do you want a hard hard. Mattress cover soft metrics with a heart felt like the Japanese experience yeah and it was good yeah yeah. This is back in very good sturdy. service was a it's a little formal. I I'm with you on that. I don't actually like the Asian premium data service I I feel like they sit and stare at me like expect something from me and I'm like I don't want out bullet. I tell them we're done. This conversation. Izzo was was there actually conversation. I mean that's the point we see. You're connecting into Hanoi. What are you doing their house like going to Hawaii but you you good service very friendly. I guess it's interesting to me one of complaints about the Asian carriers premium services that doesn't have that personal yet zeal zeal to it like right. I always American or Delta United like you can spread conversation with the flight attendants and shoot the Shit a little bit and whether they care or not and some you know sometimes they often whatever but at least there's a style of conversation and whatever that I feel I make sense and especially I'm storming back after ten days in China where they are very few people spoke English at all. I was super happy to be fine home on a US carrier because I can have like full sentences worth conversation as opposed to appointed a menu and be like one please and yet they understood that I mean it was it was weird because like I didn't eat one of course I didn't finish it and they like immediately thought something was wrong dishonored their shifts and I I was like great. I'm just I'm full. I WANNA eat the rest of the food and they're like okay. It's Okay No. I'm not judging you take pictures of all that 'cause. That's another reason they might think it's hot. I actually I I didn't take pictures in front of them. I only took pictures of two courses and that was saying you call yourself a travel blog no okay so it was good and the connection experience in Tokyo. Tokyo's being renovated right now. Rita is is the airport being basically gutted and so good thing to when you're losing all your options and they've also gotten rid of transit security which I didn't realize who says annoying yeah. I rivals thought right. Only I think if you're going to south South Korea you have to re clear security because their regular when I went us Hong Kong by the head scaredy YEP and so we used to be annoying but pretty quick very fast. I was worried because I had extra liquids like I don't WanNa have to and then I realized that they spit us out typically interim the lower level on any bob some escalators young go to security and they had some stairs and we were in the transit area and I was kind of like this Audra. Did I break something but it definitely made the experience. Faster shop and three hours is still too long for me so I got really bored orderly fast. I'm got four and a half on the way home and I'm going to independent see I comment on twitter. I think you're nuts yeah me too four hours. I mean even it's twenty five my minutes. Each way on the train plus walk time and whatnot plus clearing the extra screening on the way back. It gives me basically an hour in town and it's like he could probably grab some noodles or I was going to see a friend. I I mean there was I wasn't just going for granted but as probably got to out to forty five Indian Sean. I think which is just enough time for the flight to be delayed hit the lounge shower up next fight. I guess deal yeah if you can get into the lounge shower in that time. This launch aren't good not good. They're not bad AH yeah they. There was a law way less than when I was there for a GM. They never even got chance that I was there for a while. I fifteen minutes just to get checked in at AGM. I tried to I tried to use the shower. Both of those challenges one the main lounge from the main terminal was inconsiderate forty five minute wait for shower and then down at the let me remind first-class yet and that was the first because they have their two highest John memberships and oneworld emerald status have access to the F. Law so it's it's. It's a little overcrowded at times. The second laundry went to which is like pure lounge was less busy but still had to wait for the only had three showers so I was in the concourse terminal which has like a priority pass lounge and wide open showers. They weren't the cleanest in the world but they were opening available which was nice. It's nice to get it on that. After a long yeah you see the land should showers. Hannah Anderson Terminal probably skip that but they're just in the bathroom. Poke your head in there. There was it after twenty four hours. You still have a couple of hours to go. That lounge was glorious and I actually think that airport is actually really not the Hanoi Away International Terminal domestic sides. You arrived international yeah but that's not enough. I don't get the get the real filial area that you see the baggage claim and people trying to escape for taxi. You get scammed. I mean you don't even say thing like Laguardia. Where you see guys holding the phone with an Uber background they'd have the grab background and that works pretty funny. Go grab grab grab grab grab grab you which we should say grab is the local taxi is kind the Ryen they have grabbed bike young guys young Stephen we're doing. I'll totally do it. It's fun. I got that recording now. Okay okay. All the rides are like seventy two cents for the forcet tip on top and it's like decent rides guy shows up. Give you a helmet wear. My Dad remarked. He thought it'd refund but he wasn't sure he could put on a helmet. There's been more my people. Get your shower cap or something. GotTa be problem free. I'm okay with that but other than that like you hop on the back and they're they're used to it now in including leading the green and Kinda tell you here's your helmet in on how great it is really the fact of the industry like listen just about everything is cheap here so it is it is pretty. It's kind of sad at the same time I mean. It's great 'cause it's cheap and it's now living wage is not what we would be a living wage in way when we checked out our twenty five minute taxi ride from the hotel the airport plus a ninety minute plus as though from the mini bar came up to thirty three US dollars which is just ridiculous yeah but it is hot as hell here yeah. It's a it is hot. As hell there is that it was a feels like a ninety nine today humidity. I think the temperature itself itself was only ninety one. We were steam. We were cooking top to the point. Where like there's nothing you can do? Just accept it and move on and so you about it all day. Jason sure you're Kinda like okay so Hollis Sydney. AC which is totally cool with that beer place we went was so we jason and I did a food tour into to non earlier in the weekend. Whatever is going on anymore and were there started talking and talk to the guy until we were on our way to way that he was like oh. I got a buddy there. It runs a beer replace open a new crappier missed him and so we went and visited him it turns out there are crappier bars now in Vietnam and be this guy who runs the Bierbauer used to run the food tour and then moved out of denying two-way start the bar are in conjunction with starting the bar and so like the twitter kind of sewn his name even though it's for the food.

China's Leader To Meet Kim Jong Un In North Korea

"Till China's president Xi Jinping will embark on a state visit to North Korea at the invitation of Kim Jong UN the visit to take place, this Thursday and Friday correspondent Steven Jong has more. This is actually a long anticipated trip. Mr. she because remember, Mr Kim has. Visited China four times since becoming the supreme leader of North Korea. He had always invited Mr. Xi to return, visit Mr. she had always agreed to do so earlier on Monday when Chinese officials gave domestic media, a briefing on this trip, they were trying to frame this as an important milestone between Beijing, Pyongyang say, this is happening at a time when both sides are celebrating seventy years of formal relations, and it would enable both sides to strengthen strategic communication and defy traditional friendship. Now, they also mentioned North Korea's nuclear issue will be on the agenda between the two leaders discussions without giving much detail. Now the one country Chinese officials did nomination was the United States, Mr Kim, Mr. sheep, probably similar grievances against Donald Trump US president remember, Mr. Trump famously walked out on mister kin backing February. Doing there, some eight Hanoi because Mr. Trump didn't thing North Koreans were giving. Enough concessions to make a deal worthwhile. And from Mr. she's perspective. Mr. Trump's unreasonable demands had also caused a breakdown between the two countries ongoing trade negotiations. So they probably have both thinking they are dealing with the consequences of fickle US, president relations with the two communist allies continue to deteriorate, Stephen Jones,

North Koreans have repeatedly blamed the hard line stance of some of Donald Trump's advisors for the breakdown of talks in Hanoi in February. Name it seems they've taken aim at Mr. Pompeo, a US secretary of state made a number of trips to Pyongyang last year when she included a meeting with Kim Jong in but never senior foreign ministry official has accused him of making reckless remarks, which is led to a very dangerous situation. You never know what the North Koreans are actually gonna come with. Or if they're going to adhere to and we're talking about things that don't have common measurements. And what North Korea has done consistently in the past is promised to denuclearize. And then by the way, not do it Saturday evening. A couple of days after President Trump left Hanoi without an agreement the US announced it would suspend large-scale military exercises with South Korea. Critics say it's a major concession to end exercises without denuclearization from North Korea. Name recognition is not helping a Manafort family business. "Today in Hanoi, a summit designed to achieve progress toward North Korea's denuclearization as well. As improved ties with the United States collapsed. Suddenly when the US rejected a North Korean offer. And tonight, the US and North Korea are publicly disagreeing over. What exactly that offer was Nick Schifrin begins our coverage from Hanoi after flying eight thousand miles and holding hours of high stakes meetings with the North Korean leader? He considers a friend President Trump chose to drive away from the Hanoi summit empty handed. You always have to be prepared to walk one hundred percent side something today, we actually had papers ready to be signed. But it just wasn't appropriate. I want to do it. Right. I'd much rather. Do it. Right. Then do it fast. The US says it asked North Korea to close the young young nuclear facilities that produce. Tony mean uranium seen here in two thousand five and what the US has. Specs is a second uranium plant a few miles away. The President Trump and secretary state might compare also idle rollback of Kim Jong loons entire program. We asked him to do more he'd he was unprepared to do that. Or even that facility, even the young beyond facility all of its scope, which is important for sure still leaves missiles still leaves warheads and weapon systems all of those things we couldn't quite get there today. The US says North Korea agreed close young on. But wouldn't go any further, and they demanded what President Trump called excessive sanctions relief. Basically they wanted the sanctions lifted in their entirety. And we couldn't do that. They were willing to denote denuclearize portion of the errors that we wanted. But we couldn't give up all of the sanctions for that. But in a press conference, ten.

"You. We are in Hanoi were in Vietnam, we're on little sleep. But a lot of adrenaline right down trophy telephone number. We will get to your calls throughout the program today. I think we're gonna have our crew door. What are you going to remember the most is they're all just talking about it about this trip? And we got a lot of us here in the room believe it or not. And so we'll get to that. I'm gonna bring you behind the scenes of what was happening here. And it is amazing as I was describing yesterday how we have one party in this country. That is only only focus is hating. Donald trump. And what these Democrats did yesterday is just the latest example, you know, they claim I just look at the recent examples they claim for years they care about dreamers, DACA. And in the second term of Obama, they're funding a border wall. But now they're immoral and when the president offers dreamers DACA than the deal, they won't even sit down with him. So they don't care about dreamers, DACA. They claim what about the furloughed employees? Well, if they would've sat down with the president, the furloughed employees could have gotten paid a lot sooner. But they didn't care because this was their opportunity their main their main agenda item is to bludgeon Trump second every second every every minute every hour every day as I say and look at look at the issue. Just look at the comparison. You gotta Lieutenant governor now of the Commonwealth of bird. Accused of rape and serious sexual assault. Where are all the I believe IRS in the cavenaugh case, they have gone virtually silent. Because it's not the issue that they pretend to care so much about it's the opportunity to bludgeon, but political purposes, and there are so many other examples of that. And you see this here. I think back I remember, it will always be the John Lennon, you know, let's dream of peace. Give peace a chance. I dream of a world without nukes. There's a long time ago where you know, democratic parties swung not quite as hard as they are today. But they wanted the United States of America to unilaterally disarm our nuclear capability, which means we're sitting ducks, you can't defend liberty and freedom. Guess what? You're not gonna keep liberty and freedom last century a hundred million souls dead as a result of of government tyranny and oppression and dictatorship despots hundred million. Just take time one day and go on NAT geo on demand and watch their their amazing series that they have. Oh on issues involving what I want is the article about what Democrats said about the. The amazing series on World War Two my father fought war two. I'm just fascinated with all of it. You think how far Hitler got? And you think how many died and you think of fascism Nazism, communism aligning communism for a long time, the former Soviet Union. So, of course, Hitler invaded Russia, and you think all of the people dead as a result. And if it's not board the United States of America and a guy by the name of wit Winston Churchill probably one of if not the most courageous historic figure ever. When the bombing of Britain is going on everyday is walking among the people. He's among the people. Okay. You think in in any other country, the president the prime minister of that country going to do such a thing. Anyway. So you see this this contrast that I talk about I said, I want you to really yesterday said I want you to just absorb this moment, it is so defining, and I think we're gonna look back at this moment, and we are going to remember that they're so petty. They're they're they're like petulant kids, and they can't even th there. Have you ever have deny kit? A cookie you think about the kid is fixated on the cookie now at least the kid is mature enough. Eventually. You know, I've watched Linda disciplined her son. Liam sometimes my mommy set. What am water? Mommy. I what I are. You know, what happened? I don't have a good method is is that what I should be taking from one two. And then it always stops it too. And then it's like Liam Liam, you know, what if mommy gets the three you know, what happens when you get two three. Okay. Lee Wan doesn't work. Clearly, I need a new method because you don't listen either. Okay. And never gets to three. So Liam just keeps doing what Liam wants to do any wins. You all men in my life. Oh, wow. But we're going to look back in this moment, and we're gonna see wow. The petulant immature child is there's a lack of seriousness among people that claim to be leaders that claim to want to keep us safe and secure a hypocrisy at a spectacular level. And those are only two issues that happened recently. And all the years that Democrats think and say that they want a world free of nukes. You know, I'll give you some examples, and then I'm gonna go back to twenty fifteen who was the president twenty fifteen that'd be Barack Hussein Obama. And you know, if this is like the big hypocrisy. Of of of the water's edge. Now, got it. Thanks and Washington Post. Ran a headline Harry Reid Republicans trying to directly intervene with Obama's Iranian talks. And he said lashing out at a letter released by forty-seven Senate Republicans warning Iranian leaders against the deal with western powers has a hard slap in the face to Obama's most insane proposal. This makes you know, Neville, Chamberlain and Munich in peace in our time. Just how do you ever give a rainy Muller's the chance to America death to Israel threatens to wipe Israel off the map wipe the United States off the map. How did he just say? Okay. We'll keep you all this money. We just expect you to be nicer to us. Okay. And that's it. And we'll we'll go happily ever after often to the meadows and. You know life is going to be sunshine, rainbows and cotton, candy and starbursts skittles. I'm trying to be more modern. I could've said oh Henry what do you call it Henry bar? Remember, those milky ways. But, you know, read this is this is not a time to undermine our commander in chief purely out of spite. That's what Democrats were saying twenty fifteen. It's an unprecedented. It's unprecedented for one political party to directly intervene in an international negotiation with the sole goal of embarrassing, the president of the United States. What was yesterday all about this circus with Michael Cohen? They couldn't do it on any other day. Really? You know? Oh, Diane Feinstein. I believe herself quiet about the Virginia Lieutenant governor. This is a highly inappropriate unprecedented. Incursion into the president's prerogative to conduct foreign affairs, and is not benefiting this chamber or befitting this chamber. Oh, crazy. Uncle Joe Biden that Republicans ignore two centuries of precedent threatened to undermine the ability of any future president to negotiate with foreign countries and Washington Post Pelosi constant. Talk of impeachment hurts the US standing abroad. You can't make all of this up. I got another Pelosi quote Washington Post in two thousand fourteen it's a cost to our reputation in the world that once we get a new president. We will find a reason to impeach him. They're describing themselves on a level. We've never seen before president at the press conference. Early this morning. I know most of you probably were sleeping. I hope you are. But I I enjoy being there was actually really fun. And the president said this should never happen. What we have gone through the day that we went through where you have people trying to bludgeon him damage him. He is abroad, and this is not some small stakes negotiation. This is about safety security for future generations. This is about denuclearization of the entire Korean peninsula. This would benefit your children and grandchildren. This would make the world not totally safe, but a safer place. And if you think that horrible things can't happen in war. I urge you to go Google. How many human souls were destroyed in the last hundred years the prior century how many because of fascism Nazism, communism, imperial, Japan, dictators despots, Pol Pot killing fields Stalin's Russia. The holocaust World War to think of the cost involved, the human tragedy human souls as a result of all this. But that's where their mind is at an if it's not there, and they're just focused on literally taking the greatest governmental system ever designed by man. One predicated on a belief that we're endowed by our creator, which is a system. I'm of belief that believes in the individual and talents and freedom and not government security from the minute. You're born to the minute you're die. Although I guess now that's even questions considering Democrats clearly are obsessed with not just late term abortion. But now abortion up to the moment of birth or even maybe after a woman's dilating or a governor that would actually suggest that oh, I will deliver the baby we'll make sure the baby's comfortable. And then the mother will decide if the baby needs any type of resuscitation, we'll let the mom decide whether the baby lives or dies. And then we'll have a discussion.

"Performing for this massive audience but but doing it in a way that doesn't really speak to you or what your goals and and really what your personality is so those experiences were defining enough for us that all of the indignities of indymedia which you know i i don't have to describe to you at any length it's like you do great stuff and then you realize that buzzfeed has you know in the last thirty seconds garnered more views than any of our puny efforts ever will it doesn't matter like we're doing this for ourselves first and foremost and for those people who have found us in care about us and know what we do and that that gets me through all the other junk so let's talk about the magical pied of reds and kingdoms as we kind of alluded to earlier only mentioned game of thrones and you you write about just these these beautiful magical places what are tell me a place that's beautiful magical that that roads and kingdoms has looked at but putting on spot carry you can answer well i was actually also justin and hanoi and i had of has take time there and i think we've done some really beautiful pieces from vietnam and i actually think that the country of georgia has gotten a completely disproportionate amount of play on and kingdoms we do have our our hot spot we seems to be similar recover realized it's gorgeous you have great you do have great vietnam coverage you i region subscribed your newsletter i love it and do you had i think was a vietnamese breakfast story too few weeks ago or last week may be and it was all this stuff i didn't know and i'd like to think i now a fair amount about.

"Dropped their bombs on hanoi and then deadline at 1 o'clock in the afternoon and it was always at the same altitude it was always at the same time now dunav john mccain is lieutenant in the navy has naval aviator understood all the details or gone on but he fluids missions as order and he was shot down because what mcnamara didn't do right when he was trying to arrange the attack on hanoi vietnam bring him to the to the peace table stalkertype pigeons make the same flightpath every time there he's it ahead yeah well that's what he did in the last thing i heard from him he made a statement before he passed saying that he apologise to the country for not seen not making the mistakes that he made but john followed his orders john was shot down john b was the the son of the fleet admiral commanding all nail resources in the pacific during the vietnam war they found that out they gave him an easy way out and they said will let you go if you cooperate with us and he said i'm not loot leaving until the rest of the people you have your in prison believing they didn't liked that answer so we spent five year has taken a hell of a beating that's where he became a hero he's done some great things for this country and somebody like mcnamara who goes in he does the best he can he really thinks about it he applies himself that he makes mistakes and apologizes for it on kind of okay with that it's when you make mistakes you don't apologize for it or you make the mistakes intend to lyndon baines johnson couldn't tell him he was wrong will right now that was going tells were wrong 'cause we gotta go lugar going to dead siles and abuel these talk in maine if you know the value of good machines that it's high time we got together we're are bailey industrial builders of metal in woodworking equipment hardworking machines for hardworking people we stand behind our equipment and make sure our equipment stands behind you offering you the aftersales support you need to keep your shove running smoothly which means making sure you have what you need when you.

"Has slammed the march saying it supports terrorist groups that haunt rhetoric has rubbed off on his supporters like poces by on mood at alabama the justice is through the courts he tells me not by inciting people on the streets protests have common goal hero via the opposition is fractured but now a simple walk across turkey has given some people a glimmer of optimism that there might be an alternative road mark low in in turkey there are five million motorcycles in hanoi but not for lung the city council is planning to ban them no motorcycles by 2030 bill hasten used to be the bbc's man in hanoi the traffic in hanoi's terrible lebanon was there last month and you just crawl along particularly in the center of the city i mean you have this the french colonial capital built on a street plan laid out one hundred years ago and built for horse and cart un's inonu suddenly got a city of seven million people or something kind of trying to get through it so they need to do something about it the problem is this the band merger pikes than not much for peace people who city will be able to get around and how will they get around well i mean when i have my left hanoi been having been reported at ten years ago they look street doug the first hole to build a metro system ten years later they still haven't finished the first line of that metro system so there's no alternative for people to get on if they could often motorbikes and he's not going to be that metro system probably going to the first line will start approaching next year but those supposed to be eight lines another dental refinish for another twenty years probably so there's going to be very hard to persuade people to voluntarily give up their motorbike having said that back in two thousand nine of vietnam forced of your body to where motorcycle helmets and at the time if it was a no one's going to do this you know the vietnamese hate wearing my hellmers's to halt women done on the hairstyles messed and yet they did it so the vietnamese stayed the communist party's pretty good at getting people to do things you know when it really wants to and he said the.
