"Is the number to be part of the program ran taking those calls and producing the show so again Iran wrote the fountainhead and then she wrote her magnum opus atlas shrugged salon right these two books and rand's writings on her selfishness oriented philosophy she deemed objectivism have become the backbone of modern conservatism what it were true I would love to live in the world with that statement was true we're objectivism an atlas shrugged and Ayn rand's philosophy was the backbone of modern conservatism nothing can be further from the truth at any rate she says that the a pseudo intellectual rationalization beloved by Republicans such as a former house speaker Paul Ryan he did say that he liked Iran or senator rand Paul of Kentucky for reactionary movement that rose up to reject the feminist an anti racist movements of the twentieth century now that right there tells me that this author either has not actually read Ayn Rand or is maliciously misrepresenting her I am rand was about was perhaps one of the only truly anti racist philosophers was ever directly tackled racism and why it is morally wrong and the idea that you know I am a land a woman who wrote Daphne Taggert as a character is somehow anti feminist the it's absolutely ridiculous anyway continuing her in her purple prose rand romanticize the capitalist predator yeah the capitalist predator but there is a minimum of we have to push through this as a handsome virile man whose towering intellect justifies his massive ego and disregard for the common masses it's why conservatives angry about the election of Barack Obama started publicly identifying with John Galt who is the great man among pericytes hero of atlas shrugged the question that haunts the novel is who is John Galt we finally have the answer Donald Trump it turns out if Las fear of radical selfishness is not sixty or her Rourke but comes in the form of a half literate narcissist cheered on by a bunch of sweat pants clad fascist as he commits crimes in service of conspiracy theories he hopes will trick the ignorant masses into electing him again in the abstract rand would have said that her ideal man upholds reasoning capitalism based on how this plays out in her books her ideal man is a rich sexually aggressive sociopathic with I'm concerned with what others think about him author Adam Lee who spent years blocking his clothes reader of I atlas shrugged told salon that is utterly ridiculous social so the they're coming for someone to focus in on here one is the notion of that this actually cut goes hand in hand so the characterization of the Randy in here as a quote unquote capitalist predator as if such a thing is possible and not an oxymoron and then this call coming here by Adam levy who talks about being social Pathak Lee I'm concerned with what others think of him now if you actually read these novels and you actually take an honest look at these characters and what their values are somebody like Hank Rearden from atlas shrugged a a an industrialist who was involved in a conglomerate of businesses that culminates in his invention of something called reared in metal yes he named it after himself what an ego est my lord how self aggrandizing at eight a metal that outperforms all of this competitive materials are competing materials and makes it possible for Debbie Thagard another character in the story to build a rail line that outperforms all of her competitors the idea that these characters are social Pathak with unconcerned with what others think of them side steps the actual distinction Hank Rearden is very concerned with what Daphne Taggart thinks of him Hey Gruden is very concerned with what his other customers think of him what the people who who come to him to engage in voluntary consensual Connors he's very concerned with their opinions what he's not concerned with our irrelevancy use irrationality and be be political Fugger free of the society that he lives in concert with everybody's opinion and that's an important distinction isn't like why should we care which we actually start up the show tonight talking about this why should you care about everybody's opinion does it should everybody's opinion matter on any given topic on any given issue or even just generally or should you assign value to the opinions of those who have demonstrated that their opinions have value and particularly when you're engaged in business when you're engaged in production and commerce the the you the success that you meet with is dependent upon the opinions of others what they think of you what they think of your work what they think of what you have produced and so this idea that social path thick to be a capitalist it's sociopathic to be an egoist its social Pathak to pursue your own self interest that is a straw man argument that the left and other you know even conservative critics because there are quite a few conservative critics of objectivism in Iran and her worker has lost me that is a mis characterization astron man that one has to construct in order to create villainy where none exist and again it's revealed in this term capitalist predator it's impossible to be such I mean if you tell you talk about relationships between human beings one cannot both be a capitalist any predator of other human beings capitalism is the economic system of benevolence it is the only moral social system it records in a in a world where you can not initiate force against others which is what capitalism is what liberty is where the only way in which you can acquire well for yourself is by producing it and treating value for value the only way to become rich is to never will only produce on behalf of others to give something of value to make other people's lives better you must be of value to others you must live in a productive community you must be regarded as providing something of value in order to meet with success being a predator isn't gonna get you very far indeed any truly capitalistic society being a genuine predator is going to get you in trouble it's going to get you imprisoned you don't have to meet with consequences that's the rightful role of government is to protect individual rights and so it just it really drives me nuts these mis characterizations and like I say it very rarely outside of professing objective is to I ever see Ayn rand's work or ideas portrayed accurately and it makes sense because if you were gonna frame accurately you have a really hard time arguing against them six five one nine eight nine five eight five five closing arguments will dress in Twin Cities talk dot com things are being cold all over the place.

"For them is Malcolm on now you know there's not more packs of cigarettes a day smoking he claims his lungs are and throats not I mean yeah loans can be clear but your phone yeah I think he's I think he's dreaming because you know you he was a constant smoker I mean every time you saw the guy had a cigarette yeah Billy Bob Thorton that dude I don't know you single line if we were to mothers all I knew I'd seen I will get Amazon prime so what's on Amazon prime and it's it's I guess it's third season or whatever and it looked I don't know if it was something that didn't appeal to me but I heard rain reviews about it but he's you know he's smoking constantly in the thing and I'm sure you know he's a big smoker in real life barely but Susan I decide we get this thing a shot now will tell you this it's not for the faint of heart I mean that you know there's a lot of bad language in it it's rather gritty just to give you a of thumbnails because because Campbell's asked Razer was what's this thing about as well tell you real quick and you learn more as it goes along it is almost cliche and the way they make the the big law firm out is a little over the top but it's basically this he helped found this law firm many years ago that is turned into the one of the top three law firms in the world and it's still got his name on it yet you find him living in a seedy motel and us spending all of his time in a bar drinking and smoking and something happen up nearly any fell from grace and this a turning woman attorney who has just gotten her degree from some night law school as a client whose brother they say committed suicide you see this in the beginning his boat blows up in the ocean but she doesn't think he committed suicide well he worked for this big defense contractor and the law firm to Billy Bob Thorton used to work for is the defense team for the big defense contracts so you can see how that and his wife still works for the old law for his ex wife still works real law firm so you can see how this where this goes so it's I mean it's David versus Goliath you know he's the David now and they used to be one of the top lawyers out there and now he's got to go up against is a law firm and you know for social justice or whatever but thanks that really social justice is just a little guy going up against the big guys but it's really I mean we've we've we've watched about five episodes of the first season and you're the first one there is you know there's some a lot of a lot of bad language but Billy Bob Thorton is hilarious I mean he's just apt I mean it is not always been it's a drama but I mean the way Hey is that kept the security plays basically the same character but everything and but what was initially I was selling trying to be this how much one these bad guys and it looks like plan how're you know Ron Howard yeah who puts in every movie you know just as a sharing it and I'm going and Susan I select plan how she said I think that's who that is I said I don't think that's who that is I think that some that's somebody and I'm getting the vibe here hold on don't tell me I'm getting the country music vibe I'm getting this guy was a country music star and I'm going who is this guy and so I finally had to search I am the being to find out who it was and I did I tell you one thing that we get that now we did not all well I have to tell you after the break I'm now trying to remember think what's his face he was big guns several years ago but being normal he turned actor always smart and what is his name now it I don't know Dwight Yoakum twice it yeah but he's actually still pulling crowds on the road always a really yeah what he looks like he looks like Clinton our now only always has actually because these yeah that's why I always wear the cowboy hat he was ball you ever seen the they do this around Halloween for whatever it is the the help of the place where you get all made up and you know yeah but the person they always have the looks like for like Clint Howard with bad teeth well worn yeah that's why we open looks like it was an old guy I may never get but he is fantastic always a great actor he's absolutely fan to I will I never knew that so I didn't know he was in sling blade yeah I never saw sling he played the airbag guy in that so he and Billy Bob CM start to put this together because their bodies got a band rise so that's why he likes Y. Yoakum and so they're you know they're sort of buddies and stuff he twice but in a lot of his movies and why even did a movie in self directed it and bankroll that it was a western I can't remember the name of it but I think I saw that as I was searching for a missile from the pictures it is very good at Bridget Fonda and then yeah yeah I mean he's really good I'm going yeah this guy's a great band guy yes he is but I said that's that's plenty because I've heard from you know people that have managed in that that that's not you know that that's typecasting really it can be kind of a difficult character but then I've heard he's very nice guy from some so you really had a string of hits in the would be all man he's he's had huge here and like I said he's still polling crowds anywhere you go as he's a he's a great entertainer apparently and I am I am I am in awe that you know the Jason from the Chicago PD Jason Bangor and yeah gosh yet man I love that guy we'll see I didn't know that he was that big time well I tell you had a few people know this guy is adjacent bank is B.
