"The NASA minute. With Kevin mason. It's been no secret that I'm a cat lover. I've had cats now for going on 30 years, something like that, I think. My first wife was the one that got us cats the first time, and I wasn't thrilled about it then, but it did change my life. Right now, we have one, our princess, if you will, are spoiled princess, busy, who rules the house, it's her house and we just happen to live here. Recently, we've had visitors, and it's not that their visitors who want to bother us. Well, visitors who are curious because they see the cat behind the glass. We've got cats who roam the neighborhood and they just stop by. And they don't stop by to cause trouble. It's like they're curious. And so she sits in her little front window perch and freaks out because she's an indoor cat. She's never really been outside and, well, she can't handle it. She doesn't know what to do. Fright or flight, and she bangs her head against the window and she kisses and she growls and now they won't stay close, but they stay around. They're just being friendly. They're just stopping by and saying hi. So what does our spoiled princess do? She sits in the window and watches and yawns. Well, I'm sure we'll have another visitor today or tomorrow or whenever and want to hear the bumping on the window. I'll know what to do.

Fed Raises Interest Rates by 0.50%, Largest Move Since 2000

"Okay, turning to this market right now. Absolutely slammed as investors have a chance to digest the news of the Federal Reserve raising rates. Now, in Wednesday's session, when they got the news, of course, of the half point rate hike, they figured, okay, you know, we can handle this. He did say, after all, Jerome Powell said, I'm not looking at a 75 basis point hike. I'm just looking at 50 basis points. For the foreseeable future and they rejoiced on that was a little bit of a relief rally. You know, everybody's like, okay, well, now we have some predictability. They did exactly what we thought they were going to do. And they're not going to raise at least not so far as we know by 75 basis points. So that's what happened on Wednesday. And then all of a sudden, investors had a chance to really think through everything that's going on, which is what I keep saying, and you can't continue to have such exceptional earnings for so many of these companies when the fed is pulling, pulling back, right? When you're not buying up mortgage backed securities, you're not buying treasuries to the extent that they were when you're not leaving rates so low money becomes more expensive and when money becomes more expensive, there's less of it to go around. It has more value, right? That's how you cut down on the inflation, but there's less of it out there. And when there's less of it to go around, it does increase in value, but you are going to see a pullback most likely in spending. That's if they get this

A Dire Midterm Polling Update for Democrats with Richard Baris

"So, And okay, so heading into November, how do we feel? There's this Washington Post story that says that Democrats have now taken the lead on the generic ballot. Is that right? What does that mean? Do Republicans ever lead in the generic ballot? How do you think things are trending? It's still early, but where do you think we're kind of going to things are going to shake out coming into November? That poll along with YouGov fall is garbage. I'll just I'm going to get more aggressive as time goes on here because they have no shame. I mean, that is the poll that had Biden up by 17 points in the state of Wisconsin. And even in their own polling, when they asked, who do you trust more? To handle on the issues. On all of the top issues, Republicans have double digit leads. So I don't know how you have a 20 point lead for Republicans on trust to handle inflation. Inflation being the number one issue in your poll and yet Democrats have a one point lead. I mean, it's just, this is getting to the point of fraud. It really is. I mean, it's beyond we have polling disagreements. This is fraud. Yeah, I mean, I think that's, I think that's so smart. And I mean, inflation. So let's go through the issues. What are the top three issues Richard that you're seeing, not in California, like whatever, but in the districts that matter in the states that matter? What are the top three issues for voters right now? So we always ask, we say cost of living, you know, slash inflation because it means different things to different people. The economy and jobs, COVID is a single digit issue now. There was a time when crime and immigration were battling for number three. We're in the field this week. So we'll have brand new numbers soon. For that past that last month, national security and national security and foreign policy did tie for number three because what happened is that some of those crime and immigration voters with everything that was going on in Ukraine became interested in that. Now, strangely, that doesn't mean people favored more intervention in Ukraine, not at all. In fact, the many of them chose that issue because they were worried that Joe Biden may escalate it. So even on that issue in our polling, Republicans had a 17 point lead on national security voters on jobs in the economy. It was 21 points for Republicans but jobs in the economy and about 19 points for inflation. So again, this is the problem Democrats are going to have COVID healthcare. The environment. You know, things that people trust Democrats more on traditionally. They're just not at the forefront of people's minds. Even abortion, Charlie, which we've been hammering for 36 hours now, even abortion is not necessarily a democratic issue anymore. So it wasn't in Virginia, and they tried it the last minute to make that an issue. Glenn youngkin carried those voters up by 8 points. So it depends what district we're in, but generally it's gas, it's groceries. It's housing and shelter. You know, because we do ask specifically about cost of living.

Matt Whitaker: 'I Don't Have Anything Personally Against Roberts'

"I don't have anything personal against Roberts. In fact, he's been always very gracious and kind to me when we've interacted, which hasn't been often, but from time to time, I would run into him while I was in the administration at various official functions. You know, he's a product of Department of Justice. But, you know, I think back to the opinion on Dobbs. And this is where I think it gets really interesting based on this leaked opinion. Because if, you know, depending on who leaked it is sort of depends on their strategy, if obviously, Robert only needs one of those 5 that did sign on to this majority opinion to peel off into a concurrence with him to really actually write the opinion that is the law. And that's what's interesting to me. You know, I think Robert still has some power in shaping this, but as long as the 5 in the majority opinion stand firm, then roe V wade has been overturned. It's progeny. It's emanations in penumbras and all the kind of things Doug that you know was very frustrating as a law student to read and to say, you know, why is this entirely different than any other, you know, court opinion and analysis. And it's always been because it took a political issue that was reserved to the people into the states. And turn it into a legal question. And the science, you know, the left loves to point to the science. Well, the science has evolved and changed and viability and all those kind of issues are going to continue to change. And that's where, again, elected politicians that are responsible to the people can handle it much better and write these laws and adjust based on their constituents and their feedback from their constituents, then a court can, like you said, every decade or so when this issue is presented

We Need to Focus on Mental Health to Improve Criminal Outcomes

"The other area in which we're going to have to spend money in is mental health. Mental health is not an excuse to get out of crime. It's not an excuse to doing something, but it is something that we need to be treating in many of our jails right now. I can take you around the country and in my home state and across and others I've been there before. 30 to 45 to 50% of the jails, the local jails right now are filled with either those who are addicted to drugs or who have diagnosed mental health conditions earlier off medications or can't get their medications. Or have counseling available to them to handle their mental health issues. If we do not address this problem, folks, you're going to address it in our jails, where they're ill equipped to do it, and they're going to get worse, and then when they get back out, guess what, they're going to harm public again and they're going to go back into these jails. This is what you have to address in these issues. And if you don't want to deal with mental health, fine, it's one of those pay unit pay now or pay later and just simply keep taking mental health issues, which so many of our families have. You may have it in your own family right now. You may have family close family members or a relatives who have mental health issues in which they're able maybe to get medication or they're able to get counseling and they're able to stay okay, but there's so many people who are not in our system is not set up

"On This whole safe space mentality is destroying your entire generation I'm glad you had the fortitude to withstand it but you must see that around you on the campus you were creating a generation of weaklings A 100% Dan you couldn't be more right about this I have to say there's so many ways in which this has sort of materialized this idea that we are coddling people and particularly young people who are impressionable and then they're becoming weaker They're having less resolve They can't really handle ideas like they used to I mean at the University of Chicago the history is that it is like the number one freedom of speech institution We discuss all different kinds of ideas The econ department at this university is historic It's melted freed man We've got conservative free market values in our econ department And that still persists today So we're really a unique institution for these sort of upper Echelon schools But even today we are seeing lots of deterioration I think in the resolve of students they can't really handle alternate ideas like they used to and there's so many things we can attribute this to but a lot of it I think is the modern the modern agenda of the left which seeks to coddle people and promote safe spaces in 2016 The president of U Chicago Robert J Zimmer said we're not going to have safe spaces We're not going to have trigger warnings and I really have to commend them for taking a stand against the narrative Pervading all these institutions because what we're seeing is just a crippling of the quality of human resources frankly in our young people you're totally

Caller: Companies Should Be Allowed to Implement Their Own Policies

"Tell me why you think it's a good idea to censure people's views on Twitter or any big tech platform. Well, more than I just want to respect the independence of a company in order to do what they want. They have their own, they have their own board, they have their own policies that they try to implement and so what I don't want is I don't want government to go in and try to start telling companies what they should or shouldn't do. It's a solid, you have a solid and entirely defensible position. You really do. And that's why the left shouldn't be freaking out over Elon Musk. Another private entrepreneur and investor and businessman from buying Twitter. Should be handled in the market just like it is. Yep, it's a good argument. It's a good argument. It's a consistent argument. I appreciate it. Thanks.

Confronting America's Inability to Handle Prosperity

"And I think, you know, again, this is a point that I brought up a few episodes ago. I think the biggest problem in America. I think the singular greatest cause of all of the craziness that we see today is that we have benefited from too much prosperity. Frankly, life has been too good for us. And it sounds sick. Like I don't wish that we would encounter tragedy. I don't wish that something we would have freedom of speech suspended or a tyrannical government, of course. I don't want that, but it is just, it is a consequence of prosperity that we become ungrateful and we take these things for granted and we get these sort of delusional ideas that what we're seeing now that we can bring a utopia on earth. And so yes, I agree that sometimes having a very prosperous or ideal upbringing or living in a prosperous and ideal society actually can harm you and it can bring about things that undermine that very system that you benefit.

"Nfl mvp market. Yes change in. If a quarterback it was the guy throw for the most yards or the guy that i call him. Don't you just wonder you have to turn will allow what we did as a practice was we turn them off during the games. Because that's what i was thinking. We were even watching the damn things when the first one started. They've the stress of because you didn't know like if if you kept them up and somebody got hurt in like the washington new england game and you. You weren't watching it somebody. You bet the limit on this. You're like wait. Why'd you bet. Oh and two minutes later or you get an alert. Oh yeah so and so's out. Whatever left the game hurt. You know like. I can just cost you this absolutely the ravens thing. One hundred percent true people bet them. They've been betting them for years. They continue to deliver in the preseason. The ravens money don't get caught up in washington is playing at new england in week. One i it's washington and new england who should be favored in normal regular season new england but washington is favored in preseason week. One in new england. And i've heard more people come to the counter and say haha. They must make the line wrong. How could they be dogs to washington me new england money line blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. Don't everything that you think you know. Or if her stop for the preseason none of it matters none of it matters of it last thing the olympics going on one. Have you washed it in to the question ultimately that we asked newbie every week. Who's now alexander. We like to ask you find a little something peel. Another layer off of the onion. Are you watching olympics. Because dan and dave we did our thing last week over and olympic thing. What's your guilty pleasure olympic event. Do you have what where you can watch anything. No one would have a clue your fantasy guy. Football guy this. And what do you like to watch. And it's okay. If you say like synchronized diving it's fine. Synchronized diving isn't isn't too bad. Honestly you know what it probably is. Is i'm into gymnastics and polly for the same reason. You're into the softball. Is our kids do it. My son is done competitive gymnastics for like the past five years. So i see what guys do and and i see what my son does. And he's worked six years and it's just like still like night day i think there's a greater appreciation for how amazing these people are when you kind of watch your own kid trying trying and do these things themselves. So i'm gonna go like like men's gymnastics. I never really watched it. But i'm into it now because my kids into it. So that's awesome Obviously yeah the softball. Be glad it's in. It's not in twenty twenty four. Because in paris they don't play it so it's already voted out and hopefully it'll be back in twenty twenty eight. That's the way these things work but for me little guilty pleasure. I love the table tennis. I can't get enough of the pingpong. I'm amazed at how fast they play. How far away from the table. They play and i played as well so those. That's it just blew to colorado and then that's what you need to do better. It's i can't believe it that's it you're out of here. I'm outta here. You are dan. it's act dan under sport. Be a c. cakes again. Looks like back house like boxing. I am dave sheriff in the sports which is as vk can say. "Now he's not dan newburgh but one day he'll come on this show and we'll be of make fun of them in front of the space for that but won't be stuck in a little bit. I think he is exactly what's happening here. Yeah he don't wanna face music from david dan we don't she doesn't know his anyhow art so for of the show is going to be this talk about. You know the biggest thing that everybody's talking about the. Nfl is aaron rodgers and last week he was going to retire and stories. Got out Books made adjustments and then it became a story that the books made the judgments and some books took it down. Maybe change the numbers. Whatever we'll get into that second but then he's back in. He's playing so from the outside. Because i'll tell you how happens inside what goes on in a book in my frustration with the reports of what goes on in the book but they didn't ask anybody that works at a book all these people that road stories. All this stuff will get in that second. You're a better you're looking at this. Are you looking to take a shot in bed under were are you looking to take a shot and bet over when they move the number like what will give me your looking viewpoint at it from outside. Maybe looking to make a play. Yeah i mean. I think all along. I've been under the impression that he's gonna play one way or another like whether it was going to be for green bay or to get traded like it just did not feel like a guy who is coming off. An mvp season was in like is very close to breaking a bunch of packers passing records that he wasn't necessarily gonna just decide to retire now. Yeah he had fun doing jeopardy for a couple of weeks. Yeah he said it might be something that he's interested in long-term is the guy was the best quarterback in the league a year ago. And they were what you know. And i would argue that. It wasn't close. No well yeah. I mean he was one game away from going to a super bowl. Yes oh it's not like this is a situation where it's a terrible team. And he's the only thing going for it yes. I think that he's got major issues with that front office. That's been very clear. They haven't spent draft capital where they probably should have drafted his replacement. Probably two years too early. I get that he's allowed to be disgruntled. But the reality that was he was ever really or the chances that he was really going to sit out and again not collect that whatever. Twenty five million thirty million dollar check. You is going to get by playing. It was never realistic. And i think the way this worked out in my estimation was got what he wanted which was promised me you'll trade me or cut me at the end of this season and they basically said that so from a betting perspective. Yeah like when when these numbers came off the board..

"Are you know definitely have a lot of growth happening. But i've heard one thing about like anything being gambling or sportsbook centered. No the strength of a place like vegas review like a place. Is that people come from everywhere to go there. I mean i was in west. Virginia we had we. They spent a delaware. North spent a lot of money to put in a sports book and he called it sports and race instead of racing sports which i love because it was about being sportsbook at a dog track there on the facility right around the corner still call it sports. Arrange put a big tv wall that you could control sunday came. We can have every game on. I had them all split up the first week. They're like put the steeler game on the whole screen and put it on the south. Everybody's still there. One of the watch. The one game the only game they were interested. So it's gonna take years. I mean like no one. Was there from anywhere else. They wanna watch the steelers in the browns if they were on together swept the screen if they were on separately but one game on and the other game on the jacksonville now that may be a bad example because who watches the jaguars. Sorry i don't. I will make i will make one. I'll give an idea because again like the. We've got all these providers. I we want to believe somebody actually listens to this show. Yes maybe somebody who works for these sports books. I'll when i was in denver. I gotta give kudos. We stayed and the gaylord hotel resort for a couple of days down there and they had a sports bar which i mean. You're talking two hundred fifty feet of screen. You know chopped up a different things. Going on was watching the nba..

"For you for being in states where sports betting wasn't legal but is now what stuck out to you. Yeah i mean. It was in michigan a couple of weeks ago and then colorado to states who have a number of brands and are all in kind of on on sports betting and one thing it was it was interesting to me because i kinda blasted bet. Mgm after the michigan trip and that podcast and hey you know had to create a new account and the you know had re type all this stuff in. But even though i did have to create a new account just not not a problem for me you get the new bonuses or the sign on bonuses again which are great for customers but they did have their face. id utilized which. "What you got something there yet so so it gets back to what we were saying before about about this This on wolf if the company like a beth three six five were parcel feels slighted. If they're left out of that super-bid then they come in with a a protected. Tax rate of you know sixty percent or higher just to just to disrupt the process right though. So that's what the the state is looking forward vic. They set the rfid that they're looking to create this this final tax matrix and and so so on on one hand you have the companies that that could could join join forces and and submit a relatively low tax rate. But if if you have these these other operators who are not not part of that application right they. They could be used as the pond to to build up the rate. So why no. No one knows what will happen. But i guess fasten your seatbelts. Because the next few months they're going to be super ingenuity and twenty five million two upfront right. Isn't that the little slow brief. Oh man i got to make sure house right now across all smith drive it up and then make sure somebody gets the envelope. The big briefcase. That's that's amazing here. Here's another one too. So so like the. Dan said that that's the amount that to twenty five million But also the the length of your your license corresponds with the the final tax rate. So if if the commission determines the final tax rate is fifty one percent then the The the length of the license that'll be offered in the contract ten years If it's within thirty and fifty percent than it's also five years in between twelve and a half and thirty percent is three years forcing everything at minot at a floor of like because basically forced the hand to say it's fifty or you're not getting it and if you wanna go war and he's got a better chain exactly somebody's gonna pay the fifty just to get just to get it like the because it's going to be that much volume and everything else but still got still got to provide a good product speaking of providing product for we let you go canada. Florida canada's passing this shit single game betting we might have it north of the border available with these with these companies and stuff the way we're doing it now rather than what they're doing because they're betting in canada. They're betting allotted canada. And they're doing it different means offshore. Different things like that but florida. Just can you explain quickly. What is going on if somebody trying to sidestep the seven like is this a real thing. Yeah yeah there. There were Campaign finance records That were Submitted yesterday the so that both traff kings fan duel needed a ten million dollar contribution to to a new Pac and That that pac is looking to get a A ballot initiative on the the November ballot so so they they need about Eight hundred thousand signatures to to get the referendum placed on on the ballot in in november..

"A ninety thousand to one plus was where the odds on. This was a six six legged parlayed to soccer games than the guy picked the four winners of the pga tournament that week that european pga tournament the lpga and the senior pga. Trump's got all four winners. It came down. The last leg of our lady hit was that eight hole playoff between hairs a harris airs. English you made that flood and won him a million dollars off a fifteen dollar bet and i thought one of the most instincts. That's was i think it was. The numbers were so dramatically close at believe hairs english. One by one point. Three six million dollars and i think the better like one point one point three seven million dollars so he won like one hundred thousand thousand dollars more than english did so a crazy crazy story right. We get a lotta different parlays thrown at us. I really liked the ones that are attached to dramatic sporting events. Like an eight hole playoff. That's the thing. It was eight holes of misery. The final leg right. That was that was the last one so every single playoff hall every single last. Putt that was out there. You're you're talking like a million dollars plus riding on it. And i've had some big sweats in my days. Cost me hundreds of thousands of dollars and you know. It's it's exhilarating and exhausting in the same in the same boat. And i know i think you talked to the guy that was there any hedging at all going on here. I mean again. He's probably not like a high volume player if he's if he's making fifteen dollar parlay bets on on random guy but like at some point in time when see that like you've got a million dollars riding. I'm sorry you there's gotta be a way to hedge back and did. Did he ever acknowledge or talk about that. Aspect of of that of that parlay. Well i did not speech better too small. He only spoke to backfire. They over there has a sportsbook a branch that they took it. They did not offer up the better remain anonymous. But you're right. I mean that was the question that i would have definitely asked him eight. Did you hedge now. It's not always easy. Just that oh i'm going to hedge. It makes you gotta have. Does he have five hundred thousand dollars to get down three hundred. I don't get it in if you don't ever know so. It's always seems like the obvious thing is to to hedge. Hedge hits not often as easy as it would think absolutely it's a great point but Lots more of those stories. I'm sure we're going to see over time. David always a great job with them so again check out his stuff over at espn and Thanks for jumping in today dave. It's been awhile since we chatted. And it's always good catching up you dan. "I just wonder they seem to be very Even a little more aggressive than i expected them to be willingness when we have the washington football team owns a betting license at this time So i just wonder how far one of these sports leagues would go in terms of dipping their toes into water sports. That's interesting because i don't really know that like i mean. Is anybody looking. Because again back to arizona to keep going back there but again all these different teams will have licenses the ability to have sports books and i just. I think that publicly people are kind of over. The idea of you know It being a conflict of interest. Right now i think back in the day when it was when they were trying to not allow betting for god knows what reason looking at what's transpired but you know that was just kind of like a straw man. Didn't make any sense red-herring it. It wasn't real like sure. I think we're at a point where you know. Everybody got to feel that the conflict of interest doesn't really exist. And it's funny. Because i think i'd be very curious. I i love to go into the mind of these sports leagues..

"Here on the podcast. Are you doing today sir. I'm doing great. We gotta get too big day. Share pan back back in the mix been gone for a week or so. Well it's it's crazy. He's been out east. He's got a lot of family stuff doing softball and and i get it. You know your your soccer coach. You said of your of your daughter's team. I believe and for me. I did one year one year of coaching and it was basketball and i learned very quickly. It wasn't for me. I was not for me way too competitive. Maybe like if they were older i could i could do it. But wasn't wasn't my cup of tea. So now i just watched from the stands and it's not bad because you can you know my my son. My son does gymnastics. I'm not sure if you're familiar with how this works in terms of watching sports but your kid only goes for like thirty seconds so really gotta pay attention for like thirty seconds and then i can go back to my phone and slept my bets or my games or my fantasy or what else. I'm doing so. It actually is the perfect sport for me but But thanks for jumping on. It's great talking with you. We've had a ton of conversations over the years a lot of it around fantasy. And obviously i'm sports handle. We're covering the news around Sports betting in nets you know obviously your forte out there at espn. And i want to start with a macro view here because you've been covering the industry pre pasa but it's we're coming on just what three years. I believe that anniversary. Just past of pass by being struck down and we talked about it on the podcasts. A little bit gave our thoughts. But i want to hear your impressions of the kind of betting market. Three years removed from that landmark decision by the supreme court and just And where we are today. Just expectations have been met and just kind of overall thoughts on that. You know in terms of the numbers of states. I think were right up. Thirty that have passed legislation sports betting legislation. Now i think only two states in the united in the nation have not Kind of interviewing introduced sports betting legislation. That's utah you know what the other one is. Hawaii wisconsin l. Yes yes to which is kinda surprising. i'm also surprised a little bit that ohio and massachusetts haven't got it done. I thought they would get it done by now. they're both trying to it. Seems inevitable but it's taking longer in terms of handle continues to grow we're getting more visibility into it as more states legalize it Where does he how much americans enjoy betting and how much they were betting. Already betting really what we're trying to see you know. There is a percentage of new. Of course that are coming in. Say okay. I want to try this now. Because it it is legal and authorized but a majority of them vast majority. I would even venture to say. Were already betting. And we're starting to see how much they were betty so Those are probably my two over big picture things I think we're on pace. The thirty states is about what i expected. Excuse me And then those two states ohio massachusetts. I mentioned are will surprised. They didn't and terms handle. I think we're getting there as well. I am still dumbfounded. That massachusetts has done deal especially when you consider going back to even the fantasy world. They weren't the bursts state to come up with regulations around daily fantasy..

"I believe it was and They basically put him in charge of their their canadian operations. So i think it's it's definitely a market that people are interested in because you know unlike the us where yeah. There's always been gambling for example. We know that people are betting bookies offshore but there was a a a regulated way for them to bet even if it was just through parlay betting and i found a lot of people in the fantasy in the betting space. And there's quite a few who are north of the border here so you know. I think it's i think it's actually going to be a better market. That maybe people make it out to be. And and i think the sports books know that they probably especially places like fan duel and draftkings who have been running. Dfs in north of the border. They've got a pretty good idea. About what type of customer they they potentially are gonna have up there as well. So you know i think this is. This is a boon to you. Know operators affiliates and And obviously the customers up there because you know parlay betting we know how hard it is to win parlays and if that's all you have to bet let's face it. That kind of sucks yeah. There's a lot better candidate at estimates are about fifteen to twenty million bed annually a in in that market as well as offshore. And i think one of the things that got got this across the finish line is this cfl through Through some might behind it as well as the the us base leagues and we know how popular football isn't so the cfl benefit quite a bit. And i'll be interested to see how much hockey betting there is. Because you know here in the us. I think it's like two to four percent of the overall handle i would imagine. Canada ought to be like twenty plus percent on. Yeah and the last thing i'll add. It's we call it the california which is huge but to put it in slightly alternate perspective thirty million people's basically pennsylvania plus illinois plus new york. And yes so all right and before we get off a candidate. Final question for you Your may thumbs up thumbs down on putin. I have no thoughts at all on on boutin. I will say that every experience. I've had in canada has been phenomenal. Canada may be the site of the first adult entertainment club. I i went to Adjacent to a fishing trip so nothing but respect. I know they scan casinos up there and some buffalo bills fan so i love me some canada. It didn't happen to be in the windsor canada in windsor. Was it that. That's that's a fine place up there for those establishments that you mentioned. And that's that's really my experience with canada. Besides all the canadian people. I work with talk with and there are no nicer people in the world than canadians. But i will stand by putin being highly overrated. It's just cheese fries right. It's all it is just cheese fries you can get that anywhere so don't disrespect cheese fries. But you mentioned windsor. So let's go to Let's go over the bridge to michigan where you had that recent experience. Yeah and this was fun because you know. I missed a couple of weeks ago. Did a golf trip up in northern michigan with some pows who live in chicago. Who i who. I knew growing up and so they drove over. I flew up..

"And i'm curious if graham is and it's too bad that know he's kind of tension lease sullied in all of this to its. You know now. One of the driving storylines is going to be you know before and after enforcement the ira it's I just rob me. A friend is just an asshole and everything. He does sucks. Yeah i mean. I think you're not alone in feeling that way. That's my take. Dan bach hell. Yeah he's a metal and really pissed me off the last year in the middle of the fucking pandemic when we're watching. Ufc masters without any sound. And thank god for that by the way Mlb had the opportunity to be the only show in town and they six attend honors. Didn't wanna play. They lost a few blocks from not having people. Let's dance well. How about goodwill assholes take your fucking pine tar there you go it up put put it on there and stick you know right on a baseball. That was going then. The astros investigation or non investigation. Which is why. Nobody should have any confidence that anything is going to be done. Honestly or efficiently for the remainder of this stain season. I'm done with tasteful. You're done with that segment. That was that was really really good. I was cutting you saved it. I mean you'd be gone in the bullpen for a little while but brought the heat that was coming in like rivera mike cutter with spider tack. That was that. Was japan right now at bullet right now all right before we get out of here. I just got a couple quick notes. I mean There was a note on sports. Handle our rabble. Hausky listen to this show writes columns for sports at sports underscore handle wrote a quick column about sport. Radar plans for traditional ipo. After back not sticky staus back talks collapse. "Customers so i couldn't agree with you more Shannon sharpe exxon's out sons. Outguns out. I mean you know it took any for however many minutes to mention the guns for anyone who's not going to be seeing clever. I shed that had been and i profile shot. Oh little profile for the list. There's an are just listening. Hopefully we'll have a good clip of this. But he's wearing the sleeveless shirt tonight and just randomly flex little shoulder shrug like that little lane back. That was good you know was on last week. Talking about his golf game is is. Is golf swing handicapped with that nice. Ask golf shirt on. And this week you just showed up with this. With the shirt sleeveless. I like it. Yeah i'll take box of the waiter and we'll see if you for sixty five hope he's listening to the show but the time has been noted issue. The time has been noted. it's i it's in the show notes. I gotcha gotcha hang on. I got two more points of where you run off to another topic. What what about just voiding. It has done that or consider doing that. Is that kind of a half measure a good question. I don't think that would be the worst thing in the world like look it. Didn't he didn't finish. Yes but he started and a lot of books have two stipulations. One all bets are action whether the guy plays you're not you have action draws before tee off the first tee you still have action. I hate that fucking role. The other one is guy must tee off to have action. He plays the first round he. It's one shot on the. I t you have action. And then he pulls his back muscles can't play list. You talk about being consistent the guy. Tease offer action. He plays the first tee shot..

"First book takes the bet so in the spirit of things. Are you good battery. Different with the books paying out the jon rahm bets before the tournament is over and saying oh it was a bad beat. He was going to win it anyway. Here's your money fire way. Let me just preface by saying earlier putting one stat on the table. We're talking drum number three in the world. Although kind of a sneaky under the radar number three i think fair to say and the pre-tournament osbour- were i think roughly twelve to one on average. Okay so i'm the better. I'm the better. I am delighted if i'm getting my money. Paid out. I'm getting to say credit. That's fairly obvious. Are you mad if you're a better at a book and your not getting paid but someone else is at another book. Are you gonna leave that book because you don't get paid. Yes certainly little ticked off and probably would be on social media saying hey so and so doing this writing to customer service or whatever but i think what this boils down to. This is kind of a crystallization Sports are needed to decide what they are. Are they going to play by their own house. Rules or are they going to continue or herb began on the marketing bandwagon. Is it a marketing decision. Purely or is it a decision. Where i mean like in a state that has rules or gaming control boards or anything kinda like nevada's takes a lot to just very off the rules. I mean you're a rules guy you you have a law degree you understand though a gallery of picking and choosing when you can veer and say you know what pay this one but maybe not paid the next one or or you didn't change the house rules. How can you pay this like. Is that a factor or is it just purely a marketing thing. Pay these people. We don't have that much handle on it. Put the money in their account. So they're happy and they bet more or they stay with us. Yeah i don't the i. I guess i know most of the regulations at play here but i don't think this is any sort of regulatory decision. This is a house rules. Decision and most of the regulations and say would would make reference to. The house is allowed to have house rules and and so i think it boils down to that. It's a marketing decision today. Do we want to be perceived publicly. What how do we want to to know what we're doing especially compared with our competition but also a down the road what our expectations going to be. And that's what the. That's what i think is the biggest question mark in all this and decision to be made end. Read one quote now from. I'm sure when venture into circus for spoke at one moment or another. It was matt metcalf their director Whatever is senior title is quote. I've shied away from any payouts that involves subjectivity. Never leads to a good place. Long-term from a customer perspective. That said i'm happy for the people who receive payment and can understand the perspective of those companies choosing to do so so. I think this is one of those moments. Where you kinda got a look at yourself and decide what you are. And that's what they're doing. I can say this nevada. I mean it circa. They had a yes. No on every goal from you can pay than the people that had no one and benefited from his withdrawal. So you know. Do you resent that payment. Do not pay that you pay that and the yes like that so when you have a yes no..

And will these books decided to throw something up there like the day before. Because i mean clearly it's going to be floyd big big big but i don't know if there's any risk of throwing one sided numbers up there. I mean i. I'm shocked that there's no. Us regulated book. That i have seen booking this fight. And i and trying to figure out why that is because i guarantee you if people are betting on ukrainian fricken pingpong like they're doing in colorado.
