Fresh update on "hamptons" discussed on Charles Adams

"You with the truth. Charles Adams. A lot of subjects I want to discuss tonight, right out the gate. There is the taste oring of a young man in Maryland. Or Vaping, discuss this. When the Trump administration Took a farm steps to outlaw Flavored Vaping. Which I don't understand the Vaping. You know, I'm an old man. I'm 49. I don't do that nonsense. That's not true when I was in Seattle. And it was legal. I bought a couple of those pins and walked around Seattle. And just trying it out, you know? It was nice. But Prohibition leads to police interaction, and it's the same thing that will happen with the coming Prohibition of menthol cigarettes and other things where the government needlessly steps into our lives. I want to talk about the talk about that. I want to talk about the mass shootings this weekend in my hometown newspaper. Taking a rather loud with position. That I think most mainstream media sources take but quietly nowadays and talk about how we are putting political correctness overcorrect journalism, which Is just more hive mind groupthink nonsense. There's a whole rash of. I want to talk about The New York Times. Fat, shaming sitcom husbands. Always weird when it's okay. To engage in behavior that is seen as insensitive. If it's targeting The appropriate or what is seen by The progressive end of journalism as someone appropriate to target And it's either okay or it's not okay. I would fall on the side. That is not okay. Before we get into all, then start unpacking all and there's other stories that we're going to get to Hopefully, two things first got the ratings today. Crushed. I'm not at my all time high when I was at seven, P.m. But It was a big number. And It. Almost got me in the top 10, all IMF M. All for the whole city. Landed at 12, which for a secondary talker. It's great, especially at 11 o'clock at night. Most people are listen to music. Most people that are listening to listen to music. I appreciate all of you all that listen. Live on the radio or stream. It live. Of course, all the podcast lessons are great. I am consistently in the top five for all local programming, and and I heart, Houston. Appreciate all y'all and I do feel bad when I don't do shows like it was on a business trip. There kept being reason just things that were preventing me from doing show the most frustrating course when I was in the Hamptons. And I just didn't have the band with to do the show. And then I functionally couldn't do it with the WiFi available at that hotel. But there are times when I'm just worn out. Are there times when I get caught up and doing stuff with my family in the evening? That was Friday night? But I do always feel the weight of it because I love doing the show, but I also feel like I have a reciprocal, reciprocal obligation to the listeners. Also wanted to start by talking about it again. Well, I'm not talking about this issue, but this issue is by no means I'm not torn up. I'm not destroyed by it. And it doesn't leave the mark that racism leaves on people that have a historically suffered from being targeted because of the color of their skin. All that's horrible. But we as a nation have decided that one type of intolerance is okay in 2021, all other types art. And I think that it only begets more intolerance and and and actually creates racism. But let me tell you what happened. So I am fetching stuff. I'm a professional, Fetcher. My son was doing some school work. My wife is doing what she does. And I said, Look, I'll go get your food and I like to walk. I will drive to restaurants and other things. But I prefer not to. You know, I live in the heart of the city. I like to go walk places, So I walked to shake shack. I get my son food. Walked over to sweet greens. There was a line so I walked. Tom got my son dropped off. My son's father walked back this week. I don't want is food getting cold, you know. Get a lot of sweet greens where I'm trying to eat healthy because I ate unhealthy all weekend and get me something and your cat something I get it, man. If you haven't tried sweet greens, I first tried it when Mallon's going to Harvard in Boston. The hell of a salad place. I mean, it's not a hamburger. I'd rather had shake shack, but I'm trying not to be so big angry, right? So I get the and I'm carrying too big salads. And then it said no bag. I don't want to litter in a couple of ice T s and walking back to my house and therefore cars on a side street. All part blocking the street. But I don't care. I'm not driving and they're out of their car and they're all African American people, But I don't even notice that at first was just like that's a weird way to block the street. Well, there's a guy sitting in the car in the back passenger who's just steady, throwing trash out the window. And I'm sure I had a disgusted look at the litter book, right? I don't like littering, especially near my house and in the front passenger in that car was also tell the cars a woman. The Lederer guy was a guy. And she screams at me. What the mind. You haven't said anything or did I never realizes, Consciously giving him a disgusted look, But I was obviously discussed. I mean, just steady, just throwing just a stream of trash out the back window. What? You don't like black people in your neighborhood. I don't like litterbugs in my neighborhood. But the knee jerk assumption that white man must be racist because he's offended by something. There must be the presence of African Americans in a neighborhood that is incredibly diverse, with lots of African Americans, Houston most of our big city and in the country. I think the Fort Bend area is the most diverse part of Houston but not the municipality but in the municipality Want. Imagine that Montross is one of the most diverse areas in the city, not just for race, but for orientation. A great number of things. And if a white person would have made that bigoted assumption about the motives of a Blackbird that's racism. And we should all.

Superhero/Supermodel Nina Agdal

"This week. We have our friend nina. Agdal on the podcasts. You probably know her from sports illustrated but she is also a health and wellness guru. She has the doll method. Which is her fitness app and hosts classes in the hamptons. She is amazing. So we hope you guys love this episode as much as we loved her courting it and let us know your thoughts over on instagram. So let's just jump right into it with nina. I want to hear first about your health and wellness journey and how you first got into fitness. Oh my god. I mean dad journey honestly goes back to when i was so little like i grew up with a soccer dad like he trained my brother to to play soccer. My brother went semi pro and my family has always been so active like they were like you know. We weren't so into music or traveling like he was like playing sports like entering competitions. Always trying something new like my dad was like try something like if you're good at it continue doing it if you enjoy continue doing it but just keep trying new things so i basically grew up with that and started dancing. Competitively then started. Playing basketball again tried. Every single sport and played it started entering my teenage years where other things in life start happening like parties. And you know you wanna do other things than going to basketball games and dancing competitively. So i kinda like didn't do as many sports then. But that's when i was discovered to do modeling to and obviously modeling comes with a certain responsibility. Like i like to describe it. It's like you know you have to be a professional athlete. 'cause it's definitely moving towards the direction where the body and the sizing and the measurements are not as important thing god. We're getting there. But when i started. What is that thirteen years ago. It was not a thing where with okay to be like different sizes which is a completely different topic conversation. But that's when. I got into fitness where i really had to like. Educate myself on how to take care of my body which is also process. Because there's so many ways to do it like you know that just living in new york it's like there's a gym and a method and a right and a wrong way on every single corner and how to how to train yourself and how to get in shape and

"You just given. Yes. Yep. So really you were not punished for what you did there for the league and its players not the league but they are going to Dole out the discipline that you they think you should well it's no different than let's say you're a felon that you know skirts the system, but you're in prison the inmates will give you your do justice kind of thing. So that's what that song is there. But it's like you would think at the very least you would at least give the impression that you care about trying to make things right and trying to basically clean your name up a little bit and go you know what we fucked up but moving forward. We know what's wrong know you do guys act like a bunch of absolute assholes for no reason and by-and-by fighting against what the players are pissed off about playing against you. What did you just make him you just making yourself look like a bare ass whole like what's going to happen? Y'all treated people are pissed. You should be like, all right, I deserve it. I'm going to take it on the camera off. She take your medicine and move on to first base. You know what I'm saying Astros. Can we just cancel you guys instead? Okay, this next story Amy and it'll be interesting to get to gain your perspective because you are the mother of a son and we always joke about how you and I are very protective of, you know, girls females any women potentially coming in Hudson's life later on when he's an adult right right off. So I'm just going to share this story with you. Okay? Okay. I'm going to start with the headline a kid in the Hamptons makes $100,000 in cash. To sleep with older women, but he has to give it all back. Okay, so let's take it back and explain the story. There's a woman named Jamie who tweeted y'all my girlfriend lives in the Hamptons and her twelve-year-old son has been living with them since March obviously cuz it covid-19. Sounds like no no, wait, wait wait, he confessed that in early April he struck up a conversation with a rich older woman at a local sandwich and seafood shop about how he had tested negative wage. Okay, is that the pickup line? This is a new pick-up line in 2020. And was relieved to be staying on the island outside of the city. So this is in that area. So not you're still in the US but it's just you know, the Hamptons how it it's oh right. He said she page her large order and all one hundreds this woman did and then asked him if he needed to make some money for the summer. She and her friends were looking for a young man to help out who was negative for covet, right? And he's thinking oh, okay, you must need some stuff around the house, you know, people are really careful about pool, but I think you just don't want people in your house right long story short. He was smashing the rich older ladies for cash. This is wait. This is like a real life Loverboy. Do you remember the movie Loverboy woodchuck? Yep. Basically, he was a Hamptons ho and and raised all cash $5,000 a pop every time he every time he boned these women $5,000 from every time you pop him five grand from April to August. Okay, and this woman who tweets says my friend is devastated and this is what she said Amy. You shouldn't be he's a whole new Patrick Dempsey your reference right here. Oh my gosh and Miracle right wage So they've forced him to return every single penny every single dollar gets nothing and is going back to school penniless home. She's never going to discuss it again. She said and she's the mom said the friend who tweeted it said I'm just sitting here with a row of cry laughing emojis. So so so many layers to this because you can see it from the entrepreneurial Spirit. But let's say you and Bruce found a hundred K cash in Hudson's desk. He's twenty years old. He's been crashing with you guys because the pandemic Which let's see by the time he'll have it. Let's say the Bubonic plague comes back and I don't know nine years when he's 20. I cannot fucking believe he's going to be twenty and nine years. So let's say the bubonic plaque have to put it in those words. We got it. We got a really make you feel it Amy. So in nine years another played comes through were all wearing masks again. There's a pandemic and he's like Mom Dad got to stay with you because you know Harvard with us out. We can't go back to let's be real that kids in Celsius operation. Well, the kid is off the charts smart. So let's say he's doing that you and Bruce 500k cash in the desk. You ask him what's going on he fesses up to it. And your response is That's all you needed to say. Maybe it's so different. It's so funny how my response is just what high fiber but what high fives and he'd asked for a lump, but he it's so different my response when it's putting my own kids terms cuz like you tell me this kid had to give the money back and I'm like, oh that sucks. I could I would probably make him do the same thing because then he just gave it up for free. But yeah, see that's where I that's why like you shouldn't have to give it up for free if these women are willing to pay him by all means why not? Like look it's it's my other kid, but when it's my own kid, you know, gotta teach the lesson of you can't be a gigolo, you know, not cuz it's illegal. Number one. It's not illegal. Unless someone reports it clearly they did on Twitter. Listen, you know people out like this on Twitter that's just wrong us renting content for a podcast but still, okay. How is this different lengths say you go out on a date with a guy? Okay, he pays I don't know. Let's say y'all had $100 meal. He basically paid fifty bucks for you. And then later on, you know, you guys slam it? Okay. Am I'm not really could I go to the cops? Could he go to the cops and say, you know, whatever traded dinner for I mean, it's serviced X basically, I mean, come on like did he did he have sex with cousin Loverboy with Dempsey? He doesn't have sex with everybody like sometimes he takes like dancing lessons with somebody here. No, no, no, no, no. No, this is full-on smashing. Yep. Yep. Yep negative for anything else. Did he tested negative for any STDs or anything? This guy had a clean bill of negative Health all across the okay. He was the Hampton tow just doing his holy so his holy.

It is is poised to know what that was margin was invented with early baby boomers and sold on TV. Margarine is better. If you can't believe it's butter come on. You need to have your taste. Buds tact its shares. The affair odd cast Bob and Sheri odd cast download on the free Bob and Sheri APP website. Or wherever you get your podcast Lavin Sherry so I found two new facts that I was unaware of it. I would like to share them. Look you learning spending your world. I know well. Let's get crazy. They're not that important but they are at least in my mind kind of interesting. Juneau Where they got the Idea of top forty for like top forty radio or the top forty hits and all that. I've been doing this since I was a teenager and I had no idea and I just never thought about it in the nineteen fifties Juke. Boxes were everywhere and they held forty songs so they were the tar you yeah. I saw those songs that would be an jukebox. Where the the top forty forty most. Yeah at the time and they would change it out because you know you get a dime or quarter. Whatever was for every play so the people who own the Juke boxes you know? Mostly Mafia Would would get bigger hits. Wow the more you know about that. You know there's only one place within driving distance that I know of that. That has box in. I used to when I was a kid growing up being pizza joints all over the place. But they're just you know there's no need for them anymore but even as a novelty. There's only one place that I know. It's a hamburger joint that I go to once in a while. There was an old beater diner. I used to when I was in college and they had this tabletop jukebox. So I think those are in places like like Diners Jersey. Yes so wasn't that wasn't that in the last Sopranos Didier. They don't stop even. Yeah and so you. You'd be you'd go out for breakfast after a night out and you order your whatever and then people we compete with each other to play like the worst Song Possible Roy right you know which is how you would find yourself buzzed and eating French. Toast that a M and listening to. I've got a brand new pair of all right. You've got a brand new key. We went to a pizza restaurant almost every Friday night for a period. When I was a kid with my grandmother we pick up and be. My father would drive. Everybody would get crammed into the Pontiac and my mother and my brother and we'd sit down in this booth and my father would get up and go into the tavern side of the pizza place. Sit and have a shot in the beer and not have to deal with us when he came back. If he was in a good mood it would give me a quarter or half a two quarters and he'd let me pay play three songs and he would silently criticize my selection so I had to be really really good very often like a Napoleon James Brown from for my father. This is just not gonNA listen to this like the girled saddest walk. It's it's it's the way it is where you had you made your brother promised to keep you from talking too much getting on your dad's nerves. Now he's giving you money for the jukebox. Eight years old. And you're trying to pick a song that he won't be retained a back so I would always go with Bobby Darin Song because he like Bobby Darin mack the knife or something like that and then I picked to that I knew he would say well. At least it's got a good beat that would be success. Can I just say and this is no criticism of your dad at all? It's just an observation if I took if I went with my family to a pizza restaurant and sent Kevin and the kids to a table while I went into the bar to have a cold one and be left alone after a long day here at the studio. That's a situation that would never ever happen. It would never happen. Not For me not for your wife now for Ami Woman. And here's the second speaking of beer. Here's the second fact I learned Sumerians invented the Straw in twenty four hundred BC to drink beer without the leftovers. Solids from the brewing. Thank you so much for listening to the Bob and Sheri podcast and the Bob and Sheri odd cast. We would love if you subscribe rate review and share it with a friend on facebook twitter instagram. "A teenage girl. Oral no PROO. She won't speaking of I'M NOT GONNA call it junk food. I'M GONNA call fast. Food Burger King. Which is not my favorite fast food place. I just don't visit the king for whatever reason you know probably started as a kid. They have a brand new time lapse video of a whopper and it is a whopper. And what happens to it over the course of a month and after a short period of time? I don't know if it's a week we can half mold starts growing on the whopper and you're saying to yourself. Well that's disgusting. Why would they do that they have? They have an ad campaign where they're saying. There are no preservatives in our food. And this is what happens to our food and what they're doing is everybody has seen these stories where somebody found a McDonald's hamburger and I'm not plus than McDonald's I I you know I go. There found a McDonald's hamburger. There was three years old and it still intact. Well it's not live with preservatives gala preservative. So Burger King is saying yeah it looks gross. But here's the bottom line. Nobody's GONNA keep it for two weeks. We're not going to sell it two weeks old. This is the real thing and it's brilliant advertising. I'm GonNa tell you one more thing. About what junk food does to your brain. Just you know. Just take it away and think about aren't Now remember that the part of the brain the junk food effects is the hippocampus which is in charge of memory. They believe that this is the reason. Why people with these. Western diets have a much higher rate of Alzheimer's is that right. So you may not want to put the crap down now. But when you're seventy you're going to be your sixth year fifty or even forty. You're going to be like damn girl. I need to eat different when Yup. That's A. that's mind boggling. Actually isn't it literally. Well if if these if the if these foods and it's not the food specifically it's not like a cheeseburger or potato chips. It's that fat sugar. Carb thing if these foods damage your memory while you're eating them there's a reason why people in the Western world with this diet. The American Diet really have a much higher rate of dementia. So it's just something to think about right right right and the next time. Your kids are yelling for snacks. Tell them to have a prune and when they say no. I want pringles say. I guess you WanNa Alzheimer's and that's a fun conversation. Datura trust me on the free bobbins Cherry asking instantly. Get the PODCAST. The odd cast and Bob and Sheri Bonsai follow the Royal Family. Like you do especially Harry and Meghan. I wish them luck. I just don't have the fascination but I was reading about the latest. What they're dealing with the full story is this prince. Harry and Meghan. Markle will formally step down as senior royals on March thirty first. So that's right around the corner. After that they will no longer hold royal office at Buckingham Palace no office. They've laid their whole staff off. Oh is that right. That happened a couple of days ago. The REP says quote. The Duke and Duchess will be spending their time in both the United Kingdom and North America North America meaning Canada and general the themes of their claws related work will remain unchanged which includes the Commonwealth Community Youth and mental health collectively. They are still. There are still ongoing discussions. On whether Harry and Meghan can use the word royal they will retain his slash her royal highness titles but I thought they took the HR h away. They they'll retain the list retaining means You can put it in a drawer somewhere so it's still kind of yours but to use it publicly the that's frowned upon. However they will continue to be known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Harry remains also sixth in line to the throne which that and A nickel get your you know not much any. The big controversy last week was the queen is not allowing them to use the word royal so they have taken out trademarks and copyrights on on the Sussex. Royal Brand Right. Doing and you can't be doing that. The best that you got again they retain it so that means in twelve months. There's going there. They're going to have another meeting in twelve months to reassess with with the With Buckingham Palace if something changed the the retention of those titles can now be moved to a higher profile goose. The there's a Meghan and hairy thread on core dot com and there's a small community of people that hate her and their leader is a guy named Graham and the things that these people write about. Meghan Markle I mean Crew Ella Deville gets a more positive and glowing review. They're trying to turn onto the Yoko Ono of the Royal Family and some. Do you think that whoever that guy is whoever these people are. Do you think that that was there? Prior to all of this Controversy was that there from the time that they started dating. Is that racially based on? What do you think is going on with that? There's a lot of one of the ongoing threads in it is is that she's a. Bi level actress just starving for fame and attention. And that she loved bombed hairy to trick him into marrying her so she could become a global icon and then when she got into the royal family and she discovered how it is then she destroyed the royal family and Harry and one day soon Harry will wake up and come to his senses and cast her aside. It is the most toxic cesspool. Naturally I read every post. I don't know why but I've gotten. There's a handful of people. I know them by name now when I see that they've posted. I'm like Oh Graham you. What are you up to now Saturday hater so much? So here's how I feel about it. Let's say that I married into the Royal Fan right she. She's the royal. I'm the American and I come in if if all I can keep is the Duke of Sussex. I'm good you're good. Yeah do you think they have tens of millions of dollars? I don't know. How many did that come from? Their Mother did. Who DID SOMEBODY? Just you automatically get it. Yeah they inherited money from the late. Princess Diana They get money from Prince Charles's estate. The dushi believe is how announced of Cornwall D. C. H. Y. Think it's the Dushi. Yeah sounds in my head? When is it the Duchy? Look your version better average the Duchy. It's still the Dushi. At least I read all these posts about them on and I think you know look if I to marry Prince Harry. I stayed in the British royal family but I can be kind of a doormat sometimes. It's easy to listen Alexa. Bob and Sheri Tune in a smartphone company in Japan has invented a new kind of phone. You can only buy it in Japan but I am praying that it comes to the. Us immediately it's called the twenty. The companies called tone by the way and the phone is the twenty. It is designed for kids and teenagers and it is others. It's passed code enabled by parents. You cannot take naked photos. No kidder's artificial intelligence inside the phone that detects naked flesh shuts the camera down and sang's and sense a pixellated thumbnail of that image to parents a date and time stamp so the parents know what was happening. And the whole point of this. They designed this entire phone. This all this. Ai was because they know that Kids and young teenagers are targeted by predators tricked and coerced into sending nude images of themselves. And it's a booming business in the child abuse segment of the world and so this company invented this product just to protect kids from online predators in this way this APP or is this is own bone. It's it's a phone. This is not an APP. This is a device and as I said it's only available in Japan right now but I can't imagine that there's not a huge market for it here and it has other security features for parents to And that one of them is that nudity restriction the other one is a website tracker that allows you to watch where your kids are going and alert you if your kids screen behaviors changing. That's pretty cool if they can have an APP for that Most kids want to have the phone. They WANNA have. Now you're in charge as a parent you can say. It's my way or the highway if you want to. But if they could just added to an iphone I think it would be wildly popular.

"Well. Sherry real quick. Let me tell you you actually have met me before with James and key when my husband and I had dinner with you. Oh that guy okay. Yeah all right now. Nothing will shock me. Let's bring it on. Sandra we got married. We love to go junking to the antique stores and he tapped buying these things so does Like it used actually tell they were very wealthy people that had the real fancy fluffy shirts on even though they were males etc and so I can never really understand what the whole deal was about that and then he created a room in our house and he said that they and he as a joke to me said these are my purchased ancestors but when people were cut would come and visit he would play them off as if that was the family he came from because he wanted to hold a state that he was the blue blood. Oh my God why did new and I think of doing this. We have no creatine. Oh we have absolutely not do with your face when you're standing there and he's telling the people that have come to visit you that that's like his great great granddaddy the rockefellers. Or whatever like how did you? What would you do? I would I leave the room because I just couldn't participate as a far live like that but semi.

"Face but sometimes. I just WanNa be that guy that I used to see or meet. When I was his age that was in the face of all of the kids like in that situation he would have said Who is this? Oh this is the new one You know just just as the problem near one. You throw the phrase the new one. That's the thing you guys that would do that. Everybody knew that there wasn't a bunch of girls but he's jerking them around but like if I did that to my daughter now my daughter dates. She's been dating the same the same gentleman or boy for a couple of years now. We've nicknamed Him Post Cologne. A He looks like a post Malone he has he has that crazy hair and then sometimes they'll braid it back the only thing. He's missing tattoos on his face. And if I ask them to get a tattoo on his face he would do it but we call them post Cologne because he wears so much. Cologne. The first time he came over and had dinner with myself and and Riley he was wearing so much cologne taste what I was eating. I could only taste his Cologne did you. Did you talk to them? Well here's the thing I got. I got about this because she went to go pick him up one day and she said you know I'm going to pick up the boy's name and And were coming back to hang out you know when you making for dinner and I said well Blah Blah Blah. I said. Can you do me a favor? Can you tell post Cologne to back off easy on the Cologne this time so I could taste my dinner and she was driving so I give him props I give them volks to? She was driving and he was holding the phone and he saw the techs and he responded on the text and he takes a back saying. Hey Todd I only wore half a bottle this time off big upscale big ups to him up stay him up to him but it's funny because he wants to so much be like these boys that age they just say. Is this enough? Maybe she'll let me more if I put more he's a he's a great kid but and he's backed off on the Cologne any kids at I like when we moved. Riley was sick so he helped me move a majority of her stuff out of her room. That was from the one house to the next is done. That's what he'll do chores. My brother When I was asking my brother Las Vegas brought up posts Cologne and ask them If he actually has uttered more than five words to me in a sentence and I said no because the man my daughter speaks for him. I don't know why but at that age she speaks for whoever's house I've studied this. Who's ever house it? Is they do the speaking. Oh no this is out in public to. I've seen him but he's a he's a good kid and he's he's got his own money. Does his own things. He works hard at but it's so funny she does. All the Tigers wanted to be one of those fathers. You could say anything like I. I'd go over a friend's house when we're living in giant's neck in Connecticut and We're doing little pickup game of basketball and the one of the fathers. They're out there drinking beer watching us right. And I'm I'm not a big guy but I moved pretty good. Yeah and they're watching us and we're playing this like four or five of his plan and they go the points at me and he goes. Hey shifty good I look over. There is no nicknames with my family. I became shifty for the whole just because I was doing certain moves on the driveway with the basketball court. I think part of that comes with the fact that you have to be a nicknaming type person. I'm naming type person nickname. And if they don't have one I'm willing to give him one well. As a matter of fact we've got a couple in the building that I call freely. I was GONNA say if you're working for the show you're in the building. Don't worry about it we would never do in New People. Were working with. No not the ones we really like. I mean this is going to be the way it's going to be but I think you should try the next time he brings brings brings her down. Hey aren't you the new one for a while? But the new one arch you know he. He did say.

She was crying so those the only funny part of nine eleven but it was robin williams on nine eleven. Can we talk about seeing that is genius. You started watching family guy like now ish like i mean i've seen episodes. I'm watching it like in in right order right so like i've watched every episode of south park in every episode of family guy yeah <hes> set mcfarland arlen for him like do you think he goes too far which it no. I don't think you can far. I think if you set a president you can't go too far. I don't think so you can go too far as far as comedy. I think stuff is just funny then like i get like i'm on the fence about like the whole thing when it comes to comedy because i'm totally against it for me. See what against the p._c. Yeah but i think you're crippling people's creativity when you do that yeah of course because anything's funny i i would never be offended at someone when making a joke about something that happened to me if it was funny right if it was just like not well thought out and just like mean. That's one thank. There's there's like shock value comedy that i don't like hate that then there's like so there's funny ways to push it together to give you an example so i think if it makes me laugh. I'm called it yeah if it doesn't make me laugh and it just comes off like you just wanted to put this in there because you wanted wanted to seem to seem like a brave comedian yeah if that's if that's the case that i'm like fuck this guy like he's a loser you know or whatever i also wouldn't mind though like if it was after after show and someone that was offended came into being in told me and there were like i don't really fuck with that. I'll try to have a dialogue with them to be honest all right. So what bothered you about it. See i like like i if it's different in the middle of your act like that's not funny now. I'm gonna ask you this. You know but like if you came up to me after show and you're like hey hey listen. I didn't like the gay material that you did. You know or i didn't i thought it was. "Do you murder them so let's joke about it and it's fun it's good fuck so there's also been a lot the fabric here and I kind of wanted you to introduce me to him but anyway I was I was I was will I'm sorry we're GONNA WE'RE GONNA right back to you John I don't know the country that I live then yeah that's a really good point that is I think that's a that's an awesome wait us ahead you want things to matter that's I think one of the hardest parts of these first few months because you see this incredibly egregious despicable behavior and it feels like there's no consequences shouldn't this matter the fact that he basically bragged about sexually halt shouldn't that have meant it wasn't going to be close shouldn't the fact that he is completely on untethered to reality that he lies all the various sins that we've litigated in many many times upon this age shouldn't these things matter and I think that there's no choice but just to say yes we say it matters and that's how we have to fight that's the the election we have we have to find a way as as as Democrats we have to find a way to get our leaders to communicate the same thing we have to find a way to take that to voters and we have to find a way to take that from the national level all the way down to the local and get our like our policy Sion's on our side to grab people's imaginations and grab people's attention to say like yes these things matter and we will fight to ensure that these things matter because at the moment I'm not I'm just not getting that yeah yeah to me when people ask me if there's any silver lining try to think that this is a near death experience for the democracy well my uncle joe at at a stroke a year later he was the healthiest guy I ever met all he thinks about his Co. dieting and exercise so we're doing things that we might not know we haven't been doing it a long time which is giving shit the problem is the problem that I see when I go on the road and you say what matters is different things matter to different people and a lot of the things that matter to maybe your fans your constituency don't matter to a lot of other people and that's what's scary you know somebody said early on I heard somebody screaming on TV why would working man vote for this guy what is he ever done for the working man and all I could think everybody I thought he's entertained mm for thirty years I grew up in New York known the guy a long time he was yeah I've worked for him and I've traveled with them and addict gigs for his casinos and he was a great but he's a lot of fun he was charming what I'm hearing from you is you get close to him the joke as somebody from New York I think I think people being from New York you have it was such a strange thing to watch donald trump rises way because he was a fixture of New York like my my family like his books on the shelf the art of the deal there with books about him there was trump like he uses larger than life New York figure even though he came from money he sounded like a New York working class guy and he was charming and by the way he's funny you know he's a racist and he's a miserable brick and he's in decline and listen guys I don't know if you listen to the show before not a fan but also sorry you easily could have just been describing Andrew dice clay who sold out Madison Square Garden it works Donald Trump is probably my third favorite comedian right now Bethany Frankel number one so does it because somebody told me they come home at night and they turn on the trump highlights it's no but we do it to what we were talking about it's in the beginning when you were talking to your partner you guys talked about the the ceasefire is a blip in the news cycle when in fact that is so fucking important even if it doesn't stick it's important that those guys did that we're not reporting that we it's not it's not fun to talk about out it's.

"Two hours of Donald Trump in a long meeting my fucking vacation breaks up marriages meetings yet so apparently rex tillerson came out and said they had great chemistry they wanted to move forward like this was some relationship that had been on a break for six months or J. Labra the Russian foreign minister basically ed Donald Trump accepted Putin's version of events when it comes to interference in our elections that they didn't actually have anything to do with it despite the consensus opinion of the US intelligence community that in fact Russia did hack our election but the big announcement was a partial ceasefire in Syria which is is as significant as as long as it lasts it's significant but John Carey announced several of these There are many efforts to have a ceasefire in Syria that have not worked today so that was sort of the big deliverable that came out of this thing so basically there was a there was some progress on Syria but very clearly donald trump seated the election issue completely yet they just moved on they decided that we're looking forward to work on let's talk about Syria let's talk about Isis whatever else for two hours and fifteen minutes tonia runs in and says guys go home but presumably like that's not donald trump running the meeting that's Rex tillerson running meeting Donald Trump can't talk about two hours was on any topic yeah I mean the one sort of anecdote that came out of it was Putin being like are these the these journalists are they the ones that annoy you in like it seemed like they they found common ground here bitching about the media bitching critics which is very cool because Putin does kilter that's a fun joke like ha ha ha they bother me and I tweet about them so this is this is the twenty right just testing U. in Hamburg in Hamburg where the president did not seek hotel rooms advance so he's looking at hotels dot com frantically airbnb please bring me chocolate cake in the middle of the night it also what else has come out of this trip is a lot of talk about the relationship between Merckel and trump macron and trump what did we learn like there's been a lot of dumb body guage analysis that I'm going to rant about later but beyond that Donald Trump spoke in Poland and I feel like there's been these two interpretations of the speech one was this was actually for traditional kind of presidential speech where he talked about the importance of the West and the other is darker interpretation which is that he's seething ground Putin accepting Putin's versions events what do you think you see what trump has been saying I think the big takeaway from me from the entire meeting is at the end of the g twenty there are these communiques that are filled out what you're essentially like joint statements eighteen all the people that are there and attempt to coordinate the world on name your big issues and it feels like for the first time in a very long time we are completely isolated we're in a d in place on climate change we're in a different place on trade or in a different place on immigration and the rest of the world is kind of moving on without us you got the EU signing unilateral trade deals with Japan you've got leaders openly scoffing at US leadership complaining that we left the Paris agreement so it just feels like we're being behind on things that a lot of people really care about so has depressing embroider news North Korea launched an icbm this is why I don't want to do with the panel all right Tommy can walk us through it can get rid of North Korea sends an icbm up into the air it has the ability to reach the United States at least Alaska dealing with North Korea has been difficult that sandwich for every president for thirty years is trump basically kind of following the standard US playbook and we're just once again realizing that it's inadequate I mean what are we learning about the way trump is responding to North Korea what do you take away from it he's finding it'd be this is not his fault North Korea's not his fault Brock Obama Day years to deal with the problem we did not Bill Clinton had time to deal with problem George W Bush so it's a problem that's existed for a long time and it's been a it's been a nuclear program that's been steadily moving and I think the North Korean leadership is looked at Libya in places in other countries that have given up their nuclear programs and then have been toppled and they've realized that maybe the way to st power actually to hold onto your program and keep developing so they've been developing they've enriching nuclear material making nuclear weapons trying to shrink down warheads and then develop a missile that could actually fire and he reached United States they got an icbm which is essentially a two stage rocket that can reach Alaska in some ways that's incredibly able izing because you don't want to deal with a rogue state that could actually attack us in the homeland but we have twenty eight thousand five hundred troops in South Korea so if they wanted to attack US personnel they could do so they wanted to attack the city of Seoul they could do so so this is a huge problem I think what we've learned about trump is that you know his sort of careers homework is careers bluster and bullshit and trying to sort of sell Phantom of success you know he's tweeting that China was gonna come along with him and help deal with this problem and it didn't happen and he gave them like three months to to fix this and it didn't work so it's like oh you know this could have been a foregone conclusion before he ever took office I think Barack Obama won the last thing she said to him in their in their Oval Office meeting was how worried he was about this exact three right but they haven't exactly attacked it with a seriousness of purpose or united the international community to help us there was a leave you with this there was somebody who not this on twitter twitter who cares but pointed out that both Rob Kardashian and Donald Trump tweeted the same thing which is basically China I thought I could did you guys give it up comedy tour now let me welcome our panel to the stage at long last WHO's been they've been very patient and I appreciate it please welcome comedian actor writer and host of my sexy ask Sabrina Julie's Sabrina Oh my God you're so successful and I didn't yeah no it I didn't know before this podcast how popular it is look at this guy she knew what to say he's an actor author creator of the Award Winning Guiquan Century Show tabletop which he also hosts I'm a huge fan wil wheaton and the legend the well being here and finally his news special Jeff Ross roasts cops comes out and timber is one of my favorite comedians comedy Central Special Jeff Ross I can't shake game was horrific right now it's done we sit yeah we said great job on the set by the way you really nailed it do you out to the mayor thank you for all the things you did for Los Angeles that was cool sorry no it's good you jumped right in you roasted me and complimented someone that's not on stage thanks a lot like your sweet spot I was mad because you introduced my year-old specialist they described you described the Putin trump meeting with Malania coming in about their chemistry eh and then Malania came interrupt it was like the sad frightening thing is you basically described an episode of the bachelor there date went on way longer than anybody thought and the chemistry was great when we sent another grow into interrupt and they didn't even work and the difference is it doesn't give Putin arose he just gave him Estonia sucks for them no but I actually am excited about your special wanted to ask you about it is you just spent some time on the Mexican border doing stand up and roasting immigrants yes and a group that I feel like is ah the Rio Grande valley it separated by a border fence Matamoros Mexico is on one side and its sister sitting Brownsville and the Mayor Brownsville let me the little stage and basically roast migrants as they came over I feel like Brownsville are really insensitive on the nose name for a border town I did a lot of Brown's it's not just a special it was an experience anybody you know who cares about the immigration experience we'll get a lot out of this show.

"Thanks for coming out I see some merch I always like to point it out I see some friends of the pod thank you guys for being here tonight we have a great show for you now as you look we're going to have a we have a fantastic panel but before we get to our panel louder leave it it's a funny show all right but it's also a place where we battle it out on ideas all right we talked about the future of the Democratic Party a big governor's race coming up in the state of the state of California and so I'm very excited about our guest tonight we're going to talk to a lot of the candidates but I'm so excited did that we have the former mayor of Los Angeles Antonio Vera Goza here to talk to us about why he's running for governor let me up the mayor thank you for being here Lisa Mr Mayor Thank you for coming Antonia that feels that feels right thank you for being hear my mother used to say Don Neto okay that feels like one step too far for me that feels a little too intimate for me maybe we'll get there you didn't finish it Akilah I did not good good good good that's good we'll be very loose so you're running for Governor we have we're in the middle of big conversation Amongst Democrats about the future of the Party were in the wilderness we just went through this grueling loss and I don't want to look back it is but I do think it's important that we understand the lessons of two thousand sixteen years somebody that has been a longtime supporter of Hillary Clinton as I was what did you learn from twenty six eighteen and a longtime supporter of Barack Obama as well I think what we learned is we lost our way are parties always been a party the fight for working people for the poor that addresses an economy when it's not working for most of it us and I think we spent too much time talking about trump thinking about trump and not enough time talking about what we were I do I grew up in the civil rights movement started out at fifteen years old and with Pharma Boycott and I remember in college telling my mom that she didn't understand working people and she told me you know Sun at some point people want to know what your for not just which against your good at marching you're good ticketing people want to see you build something and I think our party has to build something again at a fight for working people got to fight for the notion that too many young people can't afford college get a degree and they are not making it that work in the starbucks we got a shared economy that doesn't share too many people who used to eighty hours is a taxi driver now working Zuber thirty thousand dollars instead of one hundred thousand dollars no health care no pension where are we going so I think our party has to start going somewhere forward upward for more people now obviously California's in many ways a bulwark against what the trump administration is doing I mean one of the ways that we can move forward is by making sure that this administration doesn't seed whether it's from immigration reform to blocking criminal justice reform to what we're seeing now on the healthcare bill you've been pretty outspoken against trump but at the same time were to be governor you have this balance of being a bulwark being critical trying to move the state forward Wa the same time being reliance on the federal government for a for revenue for funding how do you strike that balance what do you think the governor's job is there governor's job is to mark a different path in a look we're not going to tweet our way out of what we see from Washington. I don't know that that's true I doing a lot of tweeting we're not we're not can scream our way out I think the best way to fight trump is to make our economy work for more people here in California the sixth largest economy in the world we have more poverty than virtually every state in the country we are a state frankly the has a lot of great things going for it and a lot of things that we have to ask ourselves how we can do it better so I think the next governor has got to stand up for sure in healthcare healthcare is a right not a privilege everybody ought to have it we got to stand up to a twenty dollar cut we've got to say Ed our environment protecting are not to resources are era water is the greatest gift we could give to the next generation addressing climate change we're going to stand up for the notion that California is going to lead not just the nation but the world on immigration look where the sixth largest economy in the world and we're the most or state in the nation the epicenter of immigrants and the foreign born and the undocumented but if that's all we do is just stand up and not do more to double down to train more kids educate more eighty percent graduation rate thirteen percent of sixty percent of the kids in this state who are of color the Tino and African American thirteen percent or going to a four year college that is not a question of formula for success so best thing we can do is double down on what we do here don't pay so much attention to the noise because that's all it is seventy five send the stuff that comes out of his mouth is either a lie or misrepresentation of fact why would we spend so much time respondent up on two of those issues health care and education health care I there's this debate going on in California around single payer there's this proposal it's been rejected by it's been embraced by some people rejected by others one issue is that we have this funding problem in California where it has to go to the ballot where do you come down on this fight every single payer well I've been for single payer since I was well since I went to the Legislature Nineteen Ninety-four I did a bill to expand after the Clinton admits creation lost universal healthcare I did a bill for universal health care for kids expand Medicaid a two hundred percent above poverty for poor kids that's a form of single payer didn't have a funny plant so guess what I didn't get a vote not one vote second year did it again I didn't have a funding plan I didn't get a vote the third ear I passed a plan that gave seven hundred fifty thousand kids healthcare I got booed by some but those kids that have for single payer virtually every western industrialized country in the world has single payer which is government sponsored healthcare that's where we're going to go Hyundai today's not the day not when you need waivers from the trump administration not when the only real way to make it happen in the status the nation go there so I'm for it but not right now we gotta you've got to focus on a twenty billion dollar cut we have one hundred eighty a billion dollar budget a twenty billion dollar cut is you do the math more than ten percent it's checks out it's a big it's a big deal we got to protect the people the two and a half million people I'll bet you a good group of you here who lose healthcare if trump is successful it's where you start and then build on that you know so I'm for it let's start with protecting the two and a half million who lose it if McConnell in the Senate is successful and then on education you famously had you tangled with the school board a long-term conflict with them about the direction La Schools what did you take away from that fight what did you learn from it that you would bring to the to the state how many of you went to school here in La so did I I went to a high school graduated in nineteen seventy one that had a thirty five twenty five percent graduation rate by the I became mayor in two thousand five they'd improved they know how to thirty five percent graduation rate I said that's unacceptable forty four percent of the kids in this city were graduating when I became there I took on everybody and challenged him when I left it was seventy two percent graduation rate from thirty forty four seventy two today at seventy seven I took on a subset of schools in Watson East la where I grew up so the school when I became an the head thirty six percent graduation rate thirty five percent graduation.
