"That passenger up. Yeah. Right away, but without starting a big fight, she just kind of was like, you're being ridiculous. Yeah. And it was just like, boom, boom, boom, and I was like, I can't see through your fucking track. She called up to driver. She was like, she's like, hey, Charlie, this girl, this lady wants to try. And she just like roasted this lady, this passenger in front of everyone, and I was dying. But that's the level. This is the Hampton you need. The chaotic energy. Everything is chaos. And I think I saw a tweet the other day, I think it was like my dad Perlman or something. He said, you know, I don't remember the exact joke, but the point was like New York makes you so unhappy, might as well just make money off of it. Because he made a TV show about an uncomfortable way. That stuff, you know? Even today, like Marie and I have thought about we have this table here. And I put my bag here. I like to keep my stuff here because this is a New York apartment. It's very small. There isn't, I don't have a room. Right. My closer right there. We had a whole argument about my shit here. And I'm like, we're supposed to fucking put it. It's New York. But we wouldn't have this one. 'cause my apartment LA's fucking huge. You wouldn't have this argument, you know? But it's like, there's always so uncomfortable. And I missed it, man. It's good for comedy. I see why it makes people funny. And it's just nice to have these authentic chaotic funny moments. Being funny professionally, just like life is funny in New York. Because you just go out there and not even a homeless guy shouldn't, that's like the least funniest thing, you know? That's just like a regular thing. You know? I think it is in the podcast once one time my friend Joe Marco Cersei he's a comedian and he was doing laundry in New York City. A lot of people don't have laundry machines. I do. But he was doing laundry and there was a Haitian mom, kind of like berating her child and hitting her child. And he was hitting the child so long that it made John Marcos white, obviously, and he made him so uncomfortable. So he just went up to him and was like, stop hitting him. And then the laundromat owner comes out also like an immigrant black guy. Maybe he or something. And he says to the lady, he's like, listen, these white people, they'll call cops, and so on your kids, so you gotta stop. You gotta kill. It wasn't. He didn't tell them to stop hitting him. He just translated it. He just said, he's going to call the cops so you better fucking stop. Like I understand why you're hitting your kid, but he's listening. But that's like such a New York flip logic thing, you know. But just like the setup of all that laundromat, Haitian immigrants, the.

"Morning. Good morning, mister young, and good to have you back. Good morning, you. How are you? Good. Your voice, I went down with the fetching misses Hewitt to listen to you on Saturday morning. We were surprised that there are a thousand Republicans and old town period. They all showed up, but I heard your voice and my wife turned to me, said I've heard your voice that way. You've been talking too much. So I gather, you've got crowds everywhere you're going according to The New York Times. Cue the crowds have been huge everywhere we're going. And yes, we've done 50 events in the last ten days. Wow. And I'm not going through adolescence again. But we're working every day to keep everything together. Yeah, Glenn young and if you're finishing with thousands of people at every rally according to The New York Times and poor old Terry mcauliffe, can't get ten people in a room. What's that tell you about this race? Well, we got huge momentum. It's really fun to see everybody come together across Virginia. And here what's been most amazing is it's Republicans, it's Democrats, it's independence. It's folks from all walks of life. I mean, the polls show it, we're winning. We're winning independents by double digits every event we have. I have people streaming in saying glad we're Democrats. We've never voted for a Republican before. We're voting for you. We've been in the Latino vote. We've been endorsed by organizations that have never endorsed Republicans before the Hampton roads black caucus. It is so great to see unity. It's so great to see everybody coming together and the momentum is huge. And you're right, that event announced that Andrea was something else. I thought there'd be 25 or 50 people. We had to code it on. And there were so many people. I thought I was going to say hi to you. Not a chance. There was a CF people and people. This is like the middle of New York City in Virginia. You can't you can't expect the Republican to barnstorm in Alexandria two days before an election. But Glenn young did. Yeah, and we're done. We just finished a big swing through southwest Virginia the crowds were huge. There's a red sign everywhere. It is really, really fun to watch this happen. You know, you it's no longer a campaign. It's a movement. It's a movement being led by parents. It's a movement being led by virginians and on this ballot on one side of it is Terry mcauliffe and his big government control and his desire to have parents separated from their children by government and on the other side as Virginia. In my name, but it's virginians and it is so so awesome to watch this

There's so much emphasis on germs and viruses and infections amer talk about really the quality of the host terrain. Talk about what happens to our cells when they feel like they're under threats. We're gonna talk a little bit about the cell danger response and we're gonna talk about natural strategies that you can take things that you could be doing and things at hampton is coaching people with in order to help them reestablish and build balance in their terrain and really create greater resilience in their body resilience against infections resilience against stressors and really optimal health and so hampton. Welcome to the podcast awesome. Will i'm i'm a side to be here. I'm grateful thank you dr jockeys for having me well for sure while hampton you know. Obviously you joined our team this year and i was really excited to have you join us. You're passionate about health. Passionate about helping people are really optimize their overall health and wellbeing. And i know your heart goes out for what's happening in our society where people are just being so scared. You're scared of viruses scared of germs. And you know it doesn't have to be that way. Like really ultimately the way god created us was that was to be resilient to stress resilient to pathogens and you know really microorganisms general. They have job. Their job is to break down decaying matter and our job is to really be vibrant and alive to not be decaying header vibrant alive. And i know you share that passion with me and And so let's talk a little bit about germ theory and terrain theory and give people kind of the foundation here. Sure yeah well i love. I totally agree everything you just said. I mean that's just it. Germs have a function they have role God created him with specific purpose. And we actually now have learned a good bit on many of their roles starting to micro bio And an aegis continue learn more about how they actually can change in their roles dependent upon the environment that they're in the demands placed upon the minute environment won't talk about our health our terrain that really is the premier in the first place where the microbes readers serving us or they're decomposing and obviously we don't want to be decomposed there so Yeah with that set the kind of two main uh theories if you will you just mentioned germ theory and terrain theory essentially in a nutshell. The germ theory is that Louis jury is the most famous recognized. Science popularized s- theory. There was many Actually before him centuries past actually were you know essentially undermining or you know confirming this theory just not. It wasn't as is widely known but the idea that microbes are the cause of disease and so he really went to an extent to try to isolate these microbes..

"Krista tippett and this is on being. Today, a conversation for our series, the future of hope between Darnell Moore and. Darnell has been a community organizer and force in the movement for black lives, leads and content inclusion at Netflix and is the author of a wonderful memoir, no ashes in the fire. Dream Hampton is best known now for her culture shifting films, including surviving R. Kelly. She began her career as a music journalist covering hip hop and was a celebrated personality and force inside hip hop's formative decades, pioneering a voice for women, and for the influence on culture and community that that music and its makers have. In one of many high profile moments after the rapper, too short, made a video that offered young men tricks for sexually cornering young women. Dream decided, she said, not to call him out, but to call him in. To educate him and make him think in public about his influence on women on men on children. Ebony magazine published their dialog, which the rapper later said had been a wake-up call. You know there's this moment that you've experienced that I want to bring to our attention because as we're talking about abolition and fires, I'm thinking about restorative justice, I'm thinking about notions of calling in and calling people out. We can't have a conversation without talking about that within the present me you, right? And you know, calling in calling out restorative justice that too is a work of justice is also in hope. And one example comes to mind if you were calling the time that you phoned the rapper too short. And then listening to short, you know, it was hot stuff. You fell into short to talk to him about a video he made about how boys can corner girls in a playground pretty much. And that was an act of you like calling in. And for me, I always say to love is to not lie. Like you're not going to go to battle to really help struggle with someone unless there's a love for them. And hope that on the other end of that accountability is self transformation. I wonder if you could just recall that moment and talk a little bit about like calling in as a are calling out or restorative justice accountability is too love. It is also grounded in hope. You know, accepting your definition, I was like, well, wait a minute. Do I love too short? But I'm like, girl, please. You know you do. Like, blow them whistle. I'm like, I probably learned about sex from listening to prince. His early, like, you know, all the stuff he wouldn't perform once he became a Jehovah's Witness. And his first few albums, which were so important in Detroit. And too short, you know, like, yeah, I mean, I'm not saying that's a good way to get your sex education. So and then here's too short. I'm a grown woman. He's almost, you know, he's 40 something years old, still giving kids the super wrong, sex education. I think it was one of those rap sites and I got him on the phone because it had to be like, you know, what are you talking about? And these are all the reasons why this is wrong. And these are how you're putting black girls lives in danger. This is a big part. It's not just black girls and being the consequences in a car solar system to committing sexual crimes is incarceration. You're also putting these black boys, you know, and by like, you know, mouth informing me, I don't want to say misinforming 'cause it's mal intended, right? I don't know that mouth informed is a word, but you know what I mean? The balance involved in making a video telling boys how to commit sexual crimes. And what was revelatory about this? And what made me kind of pause even in the conversation was that he honestly did not understand and this is the larger conversation we need to be having about boys and consent. And just men need to take this work up of being real about where we're lacking and where we have not been having conversations about what consent is. And he just honestly did not understand it that way. It was a revelation for him to hear me talking about being at public pools. You know, growing up and having boys try to take down your top. And the terror of that and how unsafe it made us, you know, in fact, you know? And then again, when you're talking to folks and trying to get them to change their basically worldview or their point of view, we are self interested as you just have a wired as humans, particularly those of us who are human and grew up under capitalism, right? So the self interest part was to say, listen, and hear the consequences if you get caught committing this crime that you're describing. So that piece about this will land black boys in jail has to be a part of that conversation too. I don't like that framework 'cause again, it's incredibly carceral. It relies on this punishment, narrative, as an incentive. You know, and I don't want to do all that, but I am trying to get to a point, however, by hook or crook, where you're understanding what's going on here in terms of what you're really putting down and out.

"In a time as sick with uncertainty as with possibility. Many of us are still and again exhausted, and yet opening fitfully to what we've learned and been called to at this moment in the life of the world. This hour, towards nourishing that, the second offering in our new series, the future of hope. Darnell Moore is one of my beloved conversation partners of recent years. He is a social creative and a force in the constellation of energies that is the movement for black lives. I admire him as a writer and podcaster who deepens and humanizes every subject he picks up. And this hour, we experience him in conversation with the extraordinary Detroit based writer and filmmaker dream Hampton. She's best known right now for co producing the 2021 Oscars and for the culture shifting documentary she executive produced surviving R. Kelly. Here's something Darnell wrote to me about her. She is a sister friend who I've organized alongside, learned from and have been inspired by for more than a decade. She is an astute and natural intellectual artist who is unafraid of challenging our ways of thinking and poses the right questions that might ultimately encourage us to be different in the world. She was the first person I thought about when I began to think about hope and its limitations and possibilities an idea that deserves excavation. So it is a privilege to enter this tender intimate conversation between two dear Friends. In them, we experience a muscular hope and justice, oriented towards redemption and calling out in a spirit of calling in. But you always remind me and I believe you have this training of the best of what we imagine a pastor to be. The best of what we imagine the Solomon model.

"You realize the democrats are capable of. Electing somebody like london breed. Now i know san francisco is wild. I get it it's a it's a. It's a world unto itself. Most americans can't relate in any way shape perform to the antics of san francisco and maybe a great example of that is the woman who runs the city. The mayor so she held a press conference this week over the firestorm of controversy. She's facing her own city ordinance. Which is one of the strictest ordinances in the country requires masks indoors whether you're vaccinated or not now. You got to hear her explanation. This is classic. This is a typical. This is the gavin newsom. French laundry thing all over again. This is chris. These guys are such a joke but consider this woman. The mayor of one of america's most famous prominence cities. I give you the mayor of san francisco explaining why she violated her own. Strict mask mandate inside the city. Jazz club incredible musicians who performed and who really uplifted the spirits of not just myself but all of the people who were there and from my perspective you know i was there i was eating and i was drinking and i was sitting with my friends and everyone who came in there was vaccinated so the fact that we have turned this into a story about being massless. No i'm not gonna sit in. Put my mask on sip and put my mask on sip input mask on. Eat input my mask on. Well i'm eating and i'm drinking. I'm gonna keep my mask off and yes in in time. Why we're drinking like everyone else. There we were all having a good time and again all vaccinated so the fact that this is even a story. His sad got better. Where's the pit about feeling the spirit. Oh we got the. We left the best part out. She felt the spirit she wanted to move. She was feeling this get them. I'll play that clip. Maybe for alfredo ortiz. Because we let the best part out. She was feeling the spirit. She's having a good time and she was vaccinated. Never mind that. The B.S. Media Narratives About Biden's Afghanistan Failures

"Going through these media narratives that RBS all week. We added one just now. Don't let them say oh, Biden was locked in. This was a Trump deal from the start to surrender to the Afghanistan to the to the Afghan Taliban. It was a trump deal, but softened Biden could have done and by the way, the only reason the Taliban didn't attack us was because of this deal, Surrender Deal. Trump Sign and M. Biden. Biden was locked in There were no attacks during the it's not true. There were attacks during the deal, and Trump responded because the Trump deal with the Taliban was the conditions based deal. In other words, you mess with us. We are going to punish you and rain heads down on your heads. And that's exactly what happened. I just read to you the headline. Just four days after Trump agreed to this deal with the Taliban to get out of Afghanistan, just four days is simple math, even for liberals. Trump bombed them because they didn't go by the deal. Biden did nothing like that. Biden and Biden said no conditions were getting out empty out the prisons. Screw Bagram, leave our people behind. Don't let them blame Trump. But the most disgusting narrative. Told you we do it a little bit in reverse. Someone we've been covering all week is the and this is probably one of the dumbest short term. Narrative efforts at spinning an hour if I've ever seen is this effort to blame Americans? Sake, did it again yesterday. I'm going to get to that audio, too. It's just disturbing. See they're they're going to blame. Americans are leaving behind their setting it up right now, and the spin is going to be. Journalists Recount Covering R. Kelly's Charges for Years

"R and B superstar is in court this week in Brooklyn for the first of two federal trials, and we need to take a moment to state in advance that this is, of course, a story that deals with sexual and physical abuse. Kelly faces multiple charges of sexual abuse against young women and girls as well as trafficking and racketeering. These accusations span decades, we're going to talk to two people who have been following R. Kelly for many years. That's Jim D Regard is formally of the Chicago Sun Times and author of the book soulless The Case against R. Kelly. And Dream. Hampton, executive producer of the Lifetime Television series, Surviving R. Kelly, Welcome to you both. Thanks. So thank you. Jim, I want to start with you because part of what led to the trial, which is getting underway right in this Brooklyn courtroom, um, started when The Chicago Sun Times first published allegations that R. Kelly had engaged in sex with minors. Can you talk a little bit about his status at that time? In terms of when the allegations began to surface Well, R Kelly was the dominant voice in R and B for generation 100 million albums sold. He was tried once in 2000 and eight after being indicted in 2002 Very narrow charges. One girl 1 14, Year old on one video tape. She didn't testify. Her parents didn't testify and he was acquitted. How significant is this moment of him being back in federal court? How is this different from then? Now? All of these years later, after 30 years of victimizing Young, almost entirely black women. You know, he is being charged with his entire 30 year career being a criminal enterprise that enabled him to pursue this sexual victimization of so many young women and to threaten, coerce and bribe those who bravely spoke out against him. And beyond this

Because a more hands on. But i'm eventually realizing i need to go to that. Yeah but oh. I do. Because i do connect where people to help them with books and t shirts and that's gonna be benfleet connection at cat. Atoms sixty nine. See a two. Okay can add in. I was born in. Now's born in sixty nine. So people know my age which. I have no problem blessed to be there but reason reason why i put that out there like that. I don't like to repeat it over. And over and over. Because i know that that i twenty five and we working on i twenty five. It's going to be special. They're going to be like the the four founders of united states because united states. I studied that and i love to get into. I love history. And i study how they started this country. I started a steady. How britain started their country. I study how the greeks and the romans started their country all connected and one of the things that that connected them with like minded people with a degree and say hey look we as eighteen years old. We don't have to wait on mommy and daddy. We can literally work on ourselves and start building an investing entities that we can't but one thing that they we've definitely teaches control. Your expenditures excellent. This is so many so many really healthy levels. I love this. And i can't wait to hear how this is growing so i will have him back on the show. I want to hear more. We wanna get things directed in your way. So i will get that out for you as well and i can't thank you enough for spending and dedicating your focus in your time and attention on our youth. It is so much needed. I also thank you folks so much for being here today. Thank you rebecca. I appreciate you having me and Just you know. I mean we're we're you were not we talk like you and i have a common understanding in. I mean you read my mind on some of those things. I am so all about having healthy. Relationships healthy fiscal emmy just all it. Life really needs to have on a massive scale it really different perspective than what it's at right now and if the climate that we're looking at right now on every level is really all resentment frustration. Anger toxicity. It's really difficult to be able to move forward and really healthy manner until we get mentors that have the same focus and we start changing those things and in sometimes it's just on an individual one by one level and i love it so i wanna thank you again. Thank you so much but just a and that is With you people. I know people follow. You know what you do with. You have to tell them what you started in and to me. That's why you're not connected. Remember connected on that right on that telephone call and i would just so amazed at what you did what you do now. My goal has been providing people tools and resources to help them overcome domestic violence and trauma. And as i've done that things have just evolved announce how this show came about was to provide tools resources. Hope motivation with every single episode. that somebody listens. They either are able to obtain something for themselves for a member of their family. A friend a coworker or somebody and so if if something on every episode effects somebody that makes a significant little change. That's the little ripple effect that we need to make it better so i wanna thank you for being on thank you. Thank you rebecca. You have a great day. And i want to thank all of you for tuning into another episode of rebecca. Sounds reveille i challenge you to get connected with lawrence and see what we can do to build his group up to twenty five and see where it goes from there and maybe even get his info his insight on how you can do something. That's going to help the youth in your area. This is what we need to do. And i thank you for tuning in to another episode of really. Ask that you get this out to all of your friends your family everybody on social media and everybody you don't thanks for watching.

If anyone's not catching on honestly would we look back. Like i don't even. I was wearing jeans. Yeah oh yeah you to clarify. This was not an easy get around like he was really invested in getting your madoff. We'll and getting there and that now explains the explosion later. Heating a little exo exo. We love you but home. And also i will say like that may have been one of the best nights that i've had a really long time saying i like sucks announced what suleiman like. Oh like how is tonight on the top last night. Only this is more than make out okay but anyways so ten out of ten night. Ten out of ten night like honestly success. I don't think i would have changed one fucking thing no same on. Let's do it again. Today is now fourth of july. And i'm not gonna lie big. Al woke up this morning and said i have the most saddening news. I'm like oh. "Well good morning. Everyone we officially had our first night out in the hamptons and it is now the morning and i am feeling it. There's so many things that are happening. Lauren's what are you eating a grape leaf at eleven. Am in the morning okay. So let's get into the updates because there's really there's just one important one. I got kicked out of the bar less. Were that right. I got kicked out of a bar last night. And you know what. I'm fucking pissed about it because i was not on that marquee level i actually was fucking keeping it together and i got fucking kicked out Let me tell you what happened driver. Ziggy picked us up. Love him he was like are fucking brock of jibril. To- well who's anyways so we were at our first spot. We were having fun. But lauren and i were like not enough. We oughta ramp it up. Let's go to this place called rush. Myers i didn't know what it was but i was like everyone talks about it. I want to go so we get in the car. And we go to rush myers and we show up and there's literally like it when i say sardines shark indians and there are literally bodies of people like checked up against the windows. And it's like that's where you're going in and so we are such a long line outside and like i'm like i don't fucking know anyone the hamptons like does anyone know how to get into this place so big al does the only thing she can do as you just try to pull out her wallet and show a couple of fifties and i go up to the balancer. I'm like i'm really gonna try to make good with the bouncers guys. I've learned my lesson from our key like sauce. Some up get comfy with the balancers sir namic. Oh like sir. And i paint this guy off. He lets his. I'm like jackpot. this is perfect ladies. let's go. We look what six girls with us so we go inside and we barely get inside guises places so fucking packed. It's one of those places that one you can barely talk to people like that's not even fucking fun like we didn't even have fun like this is not fun. Let's go to the other place but we're like all right. We want to feel what it's like. Get inside barely. Get inside and we're like shuffling. We're doing a little kooky shuffle shuffle shovel and we are getting like literally a square foot each minute. Finally we start making it to the tables. And i remember andy was like my friend has a table. If we can just get back there. Were like trying to crowd surf to get back there. We're like how do we get back there. So after literally. Thirty minutes of like piling through bodies to get back there we see the table section and it looks literally terrifying. And so we're all kind of like wait to even want to go in there and we're standing in the inbetween between like the bar area and the tables actually were all of like fuck. I'm like andy. I don't know if i want to go back there. She's like i'm going back there. Let's crowd surf to get back there. No and as we're all debating if we want to go back there a balance her not bouncer bruno but about sir. What was he. He was like a gerald like he was like he was vinnie. Vinnie fucking havelenge's. He comes up to us and he's like. Let me see your wrist bands and all of us kind of like looked out at a risks. And i'm like. I don't have wristband and like hey. Where is my respond. And he's like you don't have respense yata here so i'm thinking okay who gives a flex. We can't go into the vip area. Like i don't give a fuck and then he's like no you're out of here. I'm like no. I know like we don't have to going. Vip's no i'm your out of the bar. He opens the back door of the bar. We just so happen to me standing right. We're like wait. hold up. Hold up this guy this bouncers literally telling all six of us to get the fuck out of the bar warriner's first to go all of a sudden i'm like standing my ground in the bar lawrence gone. He learned like lawrence out into the night of the hamptons. And andy and i are going out it. We're like what the fuck was like. I've had it with you guys like you've had it with us. We just fucking met you and we're like fucking losers just paid to get in and now we're just getting kicked out. We're like. I'm like fuck. Like i really thought this went. Full fucking losers. Like people are staring at their six girls. It's fully getting kicked out of this bar like. How is this happening to me again. Because this is a moment where. I realized that eating. I know there's a level in which marquee the story i told. Listen you guys. I know the boundary that i should get kicked out of a club. I will take myself out of that club. I'm aware but in this moment. I felt i felt slighted. I felt wronged. I was like i did not fuck up marquee level i did not fuck up marquee level like you cannot kick me out of this bar. I deserve to be at this bar. And i got kicked out. Still and they're the of us are no five. 'cause lawrence gone standing in the pouring rain with no dignity left and no fucking wrist bands dude. And then i think dude. I'm pretty sure someone was like. Oh dave portnoy is here so i texted david. I'm like are you at rush myers. Because i'm like dave will get me back in and dave's like nal like my girlfriend's like being like whatever honestly dave is probably in fucking miami he's pretending like he's in the hamptons dave. I already know you're definitely still in funding miami. Finally i'm like guys do. There's no service in the hamptons. So i snapped back into like reality mode and i'm like where's lauren. I'm literally wears lauren. All of a sudden. I see laren turn the corner with like a brigade of people including the head fucking bounce or that. I just paid off. And she's turning because we're in the back of the fucking building. Lauren turns the corner and he's like marching up with her fucking arms literally like swaying left and right and she's like hand in hand with the balance and i'm like jesus christ lord what's going on and you're like i went and found the bouncer. We're getting back. And the belts are that i paid off was like i'm so fucking sorry did not give you wristbands. I completely forgot. And he's like. I'm getting you back and i'm getting back in we. At that point my my hair is cycle licht back to the back of my head. I literally look so horrendous. My spray ten street. And i'm like i don't even want to go back in man but then really are. Let's just go back in for twos against just for the pride of it like we gotta just step back ins. We can step the fuck out but like we made out. Decision not vinnie. Funky do so we left. We called gigi up and we go literally back to the original bar that we were at. We continue to party. And then lauren. And i came home pretty late night and i made a sandwich. I made a ham and sandwich. Grape leaves shoe fucking weirdo and then we went to bed so that was our night last night. It was a nice little. That was our kickoff to the hamptons..

CEO Alicia Grande: There's Something in the Water in Italy...

"So crony lashing grande skara. I wanna ask you this. Because years ago. I heard maybe it's different now but i heard that there was like only. Let's say five or ten factories in the world that were they really produce miscarriage. They package it in different places. Is that true. But like most miscarriage like the actual formulas were really coming out of. Just a few labs so the fiber ten places I would say for me yeah. That's that's around right italy amazing. I'm sorry. I love getting behind the beauty. So italy has. Italy has most of the manufacturers. Right yeah and i. There's definitely for me like there's something in the water in italy that makes that mascara even better. I've tested miscarriages from Even korea or franson. I don't know like they say when you make pizza. There's some people that make pizza and they fly water from italy and they swear by. Have you heard of people flying water from new york to. There's places in florida right. You're in florida where they fly in florida. You're not in florida i'm in. I'm in the hamptons right here in the ham to accept the son in gorgeous. They fly in new york water. because to. i've seen that. I've went to boca. Yes drink the water in florida. I do drink the water in new york a so good okay so the water but let's go back to italy because everything in italy is better but the buser something you think that there's the skara you think is that's made the best is in italy. Yes that's a from the miscarriage that i've tested. I make a lot of products in italy. Actually my granny primers made mentally. My brow fills made in italy What else is made in italy. Yet and any miscarriages at a making i have grinding dramas another miscarriage that we made with cast royal. And then we're making another mascara. We're launching this year. That's made in italy grinding fanatic but every single miscarriage that i have now naming skara grinding. Drama 'grande fanatic. Those are all three different manufacturers. "And we are back on wd sportstalk new york gary harding and john panera with you unfortunately Our guest he should kosar. Who is the map. Eat writer for new york. Daily news had to cancel for an assignment so Indifference trump trib our. Maybe it's a trevor bauer deal. Yeah we also just heard that Mlb and the major league baseball Are looking to possibly alter. They started the season instead of having one hundred and sixty two to one hundred fifty four so That that that's the possible reason it could be but unfortunately not a not a Were a little bit bums. We couldn't get her on and we were looking forward to it but Some mets question. We were going to get to some stuff but let's let's talk about it for ourselves. We can weaken interview each other about this and hear what's going on. I mean you know right now we got our situation you know is he is he or isn't he going to be The next potential star player for the new york. Mets were hoping. So i mean that would be an ao looking between the yankee starting starting pitching staff and the mets starting pitching staff i. That would be amazing. It's definitely definitely. And i heard that. I mean i read something this morning. I said at the mets and the angels were like the the two teams that it was down to. But something with the angels and mickey callaway flowing out something or i read an article. I was kind of doing stuff so like yeah i. I don't know what nikki cowan would have bearing on. Yeah i'm on a met. He'll per se but it's not a it's not good you know but But what i mean look at the obviously the roster situation the the acquisition of lender as your up i mean you know i am so you know i. That's one of the things. I'm really looking forward to get. You know you know me. Long enough. John for many years you know. I like players that that put their passion and put their you know. Put their mark on a team again. My can't was was one of those people. I was really. I was really disappointed. You know when he left the you know you know reasons being again. He mentioned that you know he got you know ripped by the mets fans for for that and you know And the media as well. You know but mike hampton was always one that you know that that put you what he what he meant. You know you know. He was giving you everything he had. An edge showed in his face. It showed in his continents every time he stepped on the mound or every time. You step to the plate you know what you get. You're getting one hundred percent. Because as he said he was a guy that just did not was not expected to be. You know as as good he gets to that level. You know you know again. Five ten you know short and stocky. You know pitchers we all know. We all know now. A typical pitchers six four six five two thirty to forty. You know my i. Guy of mike hampton stature would probably be definitely not looked at as a potential major league prospect. Just doesn't happen. But he he to me that one small sample set of a season you define what a new yorker was about and to find what a new york player was about right. He started off with saying not not a great start to a season again. Turned it around the hung in there and you know ended up going whatever thirteen you read the rest of the way through yup for sure and you know i i you know going back. I went back and looked video of that game and i and i remember watching the game my mom because you know my mom was such a huge huge met fan and she and she liked it again. The of player that a mike hampton exuded and You know so you know so. I remember the memories of watching that watching the game with our. And i like those kind of players and lynn door is that person. He wears his emotions on his sleeve and his passion for the game. I don't know very very few people that You know that gimmick that right now and and he would again. He's going to fit. New york throwback with the personality. You don't see unfortunately and maybe that's the way. The sport is kind of stifling. You know our players like him or not. It reminds me of another new york that shortstop. Unfortunately we're hoping to have him as well. Jose reyes again brought you know like him or not. He brought that that law. That you know this love eve or whatever. They call that expression to the game. And that's that's a kinda guy. I always root for both. You know i mean you. You want somebody to take to be proud of the crash that they wearing on their chest and show the love of the game and you know again. They exude that at again. Another person on this mets team that shows that is dominic smith and that was one of the questions. I was really looking forward to talking with each about you know. And you mentioned it with. Mike would think with the Non d. h. trish year in twenty twenty one. You know it's gonna take some of his at bats away and you know for you know. The difficult season at the mets had one of the bright spots how dominic smith and in the d. h. spot was was was magnificent. You know you know with With pete taking a lot of the time away at first base he wasn't gonna get it so having him as a perfect setup and how many times did he come through. You know when the mets needed them during the season you know despite all the problems of how many harvey is he had. What forty nine or something ridiculous. It was it was. It was a lot. Yeah i'd i'd have to go look real quick but yeah it was it was it was a tremendous amount but you know the You know of course. The mets traded long time in long island native stephen toronto blue jays for for three right handed pitching prospects. And you wonder whether you know it was just you know i. I don't wanna say they gave up on even that but whether just it was just time for you know a change of scenery you know i like. I wish him all the best. I mean i mean for a guy you know long island kid you know playing for the mets my my My aunt for shoes telling before she passed away she used to be a An aide one shade where he went to school. I think i remember if it was elementary junior high and she knew him he knew his family. Well and when she passed a sh- we they asked the family got a card. From stephen matt's his family of condolence cards truce is very nice. Oh wow that's so. It's kind of a shame in my book that he and i unfortunately i have to say. It wasn't surprised. I guess here. In there that that that they were going to trade him and even when he got five point two million. Or whatever i i i wasn't i wasn't totally shocked said but i wasn't shop. Yeah and of course marcus. Stroman took his option deal and he remains with the team and again. I think you know another again. Another long island kid to root for but he's to be. He's the big x factor. Because when when marcus stroman is on his game and again we're talking about another small stature. Pitcher and markets is smaller than my candies. Only five foot seven. I mean yeah. I didn't realize that until he's yeah five foot seven hundred sixty pounds maybe so very short stature but you know again very crafty pitcher but to me. He's the x factor. You know even if for if not the mets pickup. Trevor bauer. i mean he's gonna be. You're gonna rely on him to be your number molly. Trevor you number three if it's not easy your number two because you don't know what you're going to get right away from noah syndergaard this point you know will Oh.

I guess doesn't have to worry about that because he's down in the beautiful sunshine. State of florida This gentleman was A seventeen year major league baseball veteran and spent a great season in two thousand with the new york. Mets and his name is mike hampton. Mike joins us on sports. Talk forty good evening and to show. Hey guys gone. Thank you for having me on well. I'm glad you're nice safe and warm Down in down in florida but before we get to the baseball stuff. I got asked question because we were doing our our prep for the show. Tonight and A picture came up and It was you during I guess a pre game in the two thousand world series shaking flies with some little five year old and turns out that five year. Old's name is patrick mahomes. Now you're down in tampa florida and i'm sure you're a A bucks fair. you can be Pretty forewarn. Between you know the kid that you shagged flies with twenty years ago against tom. Brady and your and your hometown team. You know what i would say a little torn Not usually just. Because i'm a i'm i'm a dolphin fan. I'm sorry we started. I was born in seventy two the year. They defeated the. But you know. I think it's. It's it's great for for the bucks fans for sure You know and and i think it's great for tom brady as well to be able to kind of put himself in that position and then be able to do it on his own in not i mean i'm not saying but bruce arians is amazing head coach but you know the bell check Shadow and bit him to kind of do himself but I my personal feeling is i think the The sheets are just too fast. I think having too much speed nine. I feel that. That's going to outweigh tom brady of they can just make pull up. Pull a rabbit out of his head. It seems like every every time it gets in in a big game and in a tight situation but I'm i'm. I'm pulling for the bucks but i feel that the The chiefs are going to win. Oh it's going to be. It's definitely going to be exciting game for sure For the chance for the people that are newer to to the To you you know basically the younger generation. Can you just give us a minute or two and just give like a a little scouting report on on. Mike hampton to pitcher just to let some of the younger fans know about About you is as a as a professional ballplayer. Well i preface it. This way Everywhere i went. I was always thought i was too small. I wasn't on make. it didn't have the size. Didn't have the ability that's kind of everywhere been of always had a chip on my shoulder. Really okay we'll see You know. I feel What i lack in high. And i make up for in heart and that's kind of how i played pitching mahatma sleeve. I always ran bases like Harrison fire for mediocre. My goal is to win that game and by doing that. I was helping my team but Played a lot of football grown up Who's couple allstate a couple of years. I'm really My dad kind of pushed me in that direction. I as well as baseball very very nice. Baseball and football has like four years old so It's kind of been in my blood for a long time but the type of pitcher. I am more of Stinkers and cutters and You know a wheel to win You never had the had the greatest stuff but but my will to win was Was pretty high up on the charts. So I was that. I i was a kid that That you tend to root for the underdog. Because i'm like i. It seemed like every every week. I was facing somebody. Six four six five ninety johnson six ten. Jeez he's i look like their kids out there. But i definitely went after a pretty hard and and then gave it everything out on the field as you can look at my history body parts outside of flying off whereas in my career so i gave it every. I gave it everything little five foot in franklin get handle you definitely. Had you know a remarkable career. I was looking at kind of refresh my memory. Because i'm you know. I'm fifty three and i certainly remember when you pitched and you were. You were originally drafted by the seattle mariners. Correct that's correct nine hundred ninety out of high school in florida. And that's where you played your first major league season. Yeah i was. I made the team as a non roster invitee twenty. I'm in one thousand nine hundred ninety. Three and i was kind of up and down that year before I went to winter. Ball that that that winter For in puerto rico. And i got traded from there to houston and so that was i was kind of getting my. My time is seattle. Anti started coaching towards. Yeah houston houston team. I mean going through stats and going through all the research doing before the show. I was trying to remember that team. And and you. That was some awesome wideranging. Tween you know the the the the double bs. And you and jose lima and shane reynolds. I mean that ninety nine season and we were looking looking it up. I mean you guys. Three starters had sixty wins. I mean it was an awesome awesome team. Not only you know with with the pitching but the power net lineup. That was just the formidable squad. Yeah it was so fun That was the time my career. I was trying to establish myself Shane reynolds was was rookie. Lima was was coming up We We i think Ninety four was my first big league season and then a starter starting ninety five but we kind of grew up together. Even our even our veteran guys at the time where you know physio and bagwell community Kansallis just had a good group of core of good deeds. We had Doug dre back. And greg swindale be harnessed leaders of the pitching staff. You know when we were coming up so we were really taught how to play the game of baseball and how to act in the big league how to treat everyone respect. I mean i really learned You know how to be a a major leaguer through all those guys in that club thousand houston and hope that i carried on and was able to kinda lynn that same lesson to say younger guys but yeah we had. We had some ashes the killer. Bees mean we had when we had sean berry and and dared. Val you know we had all kinds of ed pieces and We had some good pitching. We just had a well rounded team and we were mixed with a little bit veterans but mostly young hungry guys that just Looking for to make their way and then pave their path and We had some good teachers along the way. Well i think too that. I i was really impressed with and i had kind of forgotten. Maybe hadn't noticed was the the number of golden glove awards in silver slugger awards that you won in your career and you know for a pitcher. That's kind of an interesting aspect. Is that something you took pride in me. I think you hit eight home runs one.

We love being face to face, but this darn virus Yeah, It's kind of kind of messed up everything. But we really do appreciate the opportunity, and I hope everything's going well with actually awesome. Awesome. So let's just dive right into it. First Question. 100 Jenkins Hill, are you Well, I'll let you said I am the vice president of by brain grabs our rescue. Um I've been doing it for about six years. So it's really been fun opportunity and get to work with some amazing animals. Okay, That's great. So now does that Segway into Viper? Thank you said, Is that the same organization or is this a different organization that you're representing today? No, it's the same. So it's viper in could short for Virginians interested in protecting every reptile. Oh, wow. Okay, Very cool. So that's how the name came about. What is the mission and the goal of Viper Inc. So our mission is to help in multiple ways, so we help with educating our local communities. We do a lot of visitations that schools Um, and also help with rehabbing animals. Um, we get a lot of different animals in so it's our goal to help find these animals. Um Proper homes. And you guys are five a one c or non profit organization. So you know, do community members. People give you a call? If they see an animal out about like, how How are you involved with the community beyond just the educational part? So we work with state and local wildlife. Um We work with also with some rehab or so, So the actual wildlife we get calls from rehab is if it's something that they can't handle that we take it on way. Also work with Department of Gaming Inland Fisheries. Um they reach out to us. If they have something, we actually have an American alligator. That's one thing that Woz, Um you have to have a permit through the state have on that We were. We were given one of those, and she's absolutely anyone. We also get calls from Are local. Sorry. I'm trying to think of it. You're fine. You're fine. I know it's early. It's early. Yeah. But our local wildlife will call us and say, Hey, we have this animal of we've taken and bearded dragons say we found the bearded dragon. Inside a trash can outside of an apartment complex. Can you guys take it on? Oh, that's incredible. So I mean, you know a lot of people myself included. You think reptiles And you think like scary alligators, snakes? Do you also try toe? Educate the community on these are animals. These are pets. They are in people's homes. You can love them and find as much joy and pleasure from a reptile as you can. A golden doodle. Absolutely there are these animals are Not really given the respect that they deserve. Hmm. Then that's kind of our goal is to help. You know, we have one of our big ambassador Animals is a 30 ft. Burmese python that is £75 on and she is absolutely a sweetheart. Most people would say something like that and run and scream. But our goal is to help not have that reaction. She's a puppy dog. She actually came to us. She was stabbed multiple times. Wow. And, uh, like I said, she is actually one of our biggest and sweetest on animals that we have. Well, that's that's I'm scrolling through your Facebook page right now, looking at pictures. I'm just extremely intrigued again. If you're waking up with us this morning. Have Hunter Jenkins on the phone with us is the vice president of Viper Ink and again. Viper. I love what you guys stand for Virginians interested in protecting every reptile. So do you guys, you know, even though Kobe is going on right now, do you have any events coming up? Are there current events happening? A chance for the community to get involved. Maybe somebody out there listening is a reptile lover, a reptile enthusiast. Do you have any events on the horizon? Um, for the end of this year. Unfortunately, no covert really has kind of made things difficult for us. Um, next year. We are hoping that we will have some Coming up. So to help us out we are still doing, um In person adoptions, okay? So that is the way that we can do it and also, um, any donations are always accepted. And it's not just, um, financial donations, but Supplies. Ah, things like that. That's always welcome. Okay, So when you say supplies if somebody out there because I know my mom personally collects like newspaper bags and drops him off at the Virginia s P C. A so they can use it for the animals to scoop the poop. So what kind of donations you guys accept? Well, we'll take anything in these type of reptile supplies, so actually even newspapers because that's really our betting. Hmm. We can use um, You know, we've had donations from pet stores that have called so we have light. Mm hmm. Most reptiles require a special kind of lighting. So we have special lighting that we get. Um Anyway. We had a lot of the local reptile community will also donate. Thanks. Wow, for us to be able to house the animals. Wow. So this is really cool. So what? What kind of reptiles do you personally own? If you don't mind sharing, I'm just interesting. Um, I personally keep a lot of bullets, boas like Bella constrictors. Yep. Oh, yeah, They're they're kind of there. That's not passion there. I love them all. But I've got I've got some big takers as well. Black and white Argentine takers, Hmm. And, uh, I'm actually sitting here staring at her now I've got a big 6 ft. Green going on 6 ft. Green A guana. What is her name? Well, her name is actually areas. And this morning I'm here with Sergio Leone Career developer for the Hampton Roads, Workforce Council. How are you doing today? Sergio? Good, actually, thank you. Now let's get right into it. What is the Hampton Roads, Workforce counsel. Well, the Hampton Roads work. First Council is responsible for developing workforce policy and administrating Workforce development initiative in this area, and this area includes, UM at Virginia Beach. Norfolk. It's the Portsmouth and, um, Suffolk, Um and Franklin. And what services and programs does the Workforce Council provide. Great question. So we offer a service is for job seekers to help them get employed. And this includes help with training. We have God grants that can help the individual to train. Um, get polish those skills and find work. What is the woman in skilled careers program? That program is a very interesting program. It was created to create a pipeline of skilled workers for the shipper repair industry. Of course in Norfolk. This is a big industry and we understand that Um, It's uh, it's a a industry that is dominated by a man and we understand that women can do that job and we understand that as it Z. This training can help out with a fast track to help them get into the job. To learn those critical skills. You know, for example, safety on the job, and, um, uh, work with she has a sheet metal fabricator and, um or are outside mash machinist. Um, this helps with those scales suddenly for an entry level position. And are there specific training paths available? Yes, we do have to the next cohort. There's going to be several path, including maritime coding sheet metal fabricator, Um, out in outside my machinist Now who does the whisk program target You mentioned women. Is there a specific, you know, demographic age? Anything? Well, if the program targets women that are 18 years of age or older and basically, uh, that is the main requirement, along with being below the federal poverty level. If they earn, um there should be Learning at or below the federal probe forwardly level what other type of services or assistance do you offer women in this program to ensure that they are successful? That is actually a really good question? One of the things that this program has is the ability to help out with They do They earn some money while in the program. They also receive assistance with child care and transportation cost and what type of workplace readiness and you know soft skills training. Will the program provide? Actually, That's another really good question. There is a we do a three weeks. Um, Workforce works place red enough on base includes some of those soft skills, you know, um, making sure that they're in time. Those communication which is also very important within this industry. Um, uh, making sure Then we also helped them with interview. We help him with the rest of May. But it's all like don't give us stuff come on. We don't need it. Like, you know what I mean? Like, save your money come on guys to sweet I need it. No, I yes, I Hampton feels I. We've gotten. Cards and handful of gifts and a bunch of emails, and it's all just so nice. I agree with Hampton like you don't need to go out of your way for us. I'm holding selves. I'm holding a little bad ass Camaro because we both sit up on the patriot those I, you know, thousand bucks a month. We'll buy camera like someone it was this little toy Camaro. It's like these guys. Are you guys are like the absolute best? And yeah, I don't know. It's it's a tough thing to say, you don't spend your money on us because we appreciate the gifts. And it's like so kind. But if you're yeah, you don't need to do that. All right. So you got it out. Let's say you have like a little grasshopper helicopter mine looks like a spider where a helicopter. So it's pretty terrifying. But it has cute little feet. So that's pretty cool. All right. All right. Let's take a break. And this is like, honestly above and beyond. I just so thankful.
