Republicans Still Have a Clear Path to Retake the Senate
"Here's the reality check from even Mike's Mike Allen's site axios. Republicans still have a clear path to retaking the Senate. We only need to net one seat. And there are plenty of paths. Now remember this before you get discouraged by the media coverage of all the success that Biden seems to be enjoying. Yeah, some success. If Republicans hang on in Wisconsin and hold the Trump states, we only need to win two of the 6 battlegrounds. Pennsylvania, Nevada, Georgia, New Hampshire, Arizona, or Colorado. Only need two of those. And that's not impossible.
Kyle Mills Discusses His Newest Thriller "Oath of Loyalty"
"You know that Kyle mills has been a guest for many years since he took over the amazing legacy of Vince Flynn. Here's the brand new book oath of loyalty. Kyle mills is back to talk about the loyalty. Good morning Kyle, how are you? I'm good. Thank you. It is great to talk to you again. This time you're bringing out a Vince Flynn book and a Mitch rap book in the middle of the election season. So we have to do one segment on the air and not our normal two, but we'll sell this book anyway. It doesn't need much help. I want for people who are new to the show. I just picked up new stations all over the country, especially in Maine and New Hampshire. Would you tell them how you came to become the trustee of the Vince Lin legacy and how oath of loyalty is? I think you're 8 Vince Flynn, Mitch rap book. Am I right? Yeah, it is. It is the ape. Yeah, well, when Vince passed away, the family thought about, you know, whether they wanted the series to continue and whether fans wanted the series to continue. And I think overwhelmingly, people love the character, they loved Vince. And they wanted to see his legacy live on. So they went out and talked to some authors and I had been a big fan of Vince's my entire life and had written a lot of my own books. And I got lucky and ended up with the job. It's
Midterm primaries wrap up with fresh test of GOP's future

NH's Karoline Leavitt Talks About Her Political Oponent Matt Mowers
"More about your opponent. He was the chief of staff for doctor birx, is that right? Yeah, that's correct. Matt mauer is the longtime political operative. He got his career actually started being involved in the bridgegate scandal with disgraced former governor of New Jersey, Chris Christie. That's what brought him to New Hampshire to be a New Hampshire's Chris Christie's New Hampshire political guy in 2016. So he moved to my state to use it as a political launching pad, obviously Chris Christie failed miserably so that Matt mausers hopped on the Trump train and served in a State Department under doctor Deborah birx. He was her chief of staff. He's called her a national hero and a national treasure. He's referred to her as a good friend. And this is the woman who was in cahoots with Doctor Fauci as we now know. Manipulating COVID-19 data reports and lying to president Trump to force millions of Americans into lockdown to shut down our businesses to keep our children out of school for a year and that now is ushered her into that role in The White House as COVID task force coordinator. Then he did some lobbying for an opioid manufacturer, which is very infuriating to me as a granted state native because we have a massive problem with the opioid epidemic here. I have friends and family members who are no longer with us for drug abuse and this guy was taking checks for one of the biggest opioid manufacturers in the country and then he decided to run for Congress already lost last time and now the establishment is still shilling for him. The people are not buying it though. And again, that's why we're going to win tomorrow.
Karoline Leavitt Is Running in NH’s 1st Congressional District
"Leavitt, welcome to the program. Thank you so much, Charlie, for having me and congratulations to you. This is my first time seeing you since you became a father, very happy. Yes, I was going to go stump for you up in New Hampshire, but some things matter more than that. But we are going to help any way we can. Caroline, some of our audience is aware of you, especially in the last week, you went on Tucker, you've been on Bannon. Tell us about your race and talk about how it's become a proxy war for the conservative movement at large. Yeah, well, thank you so much. This is my home seat, New Hampshire's first, grew up here, born and raised. Business family went to school here, went to college here, and had the blessing of serving the best president in American history, president Trump and his White House. I was in his press office with Kayleigh McEnany, went to D.C., having only been there once before my life to help drain the swamp. And unfortunately, Joe Biden made his way into The White House. We all know why that happened. The Democrat regime took over. And did everything they could to get Trump out. So I lost my job, came back home last summer with a will to want to fight for the people of New Hampshire. And that's what I've done over the last year. You know, last summer, when I got into this campaign, nobody knew who I was. I had zero bucks in my campaign account. But I've been pounding the pavement, meeting as many voters as I possibly can. Now today we're 12 hours, 24 hours away from polls opening on primary day. We're in a dead heat tie with the establishments handpick. My opponent Matt mauer, who is a hand pick of the establishment, he's a puppet for the GOP in the shells down in D.C., the swamp. If you will, he's a longtime operative for Chris Christie, and he moved to my home state of New Hampshire to literally run for office.
Why the Georgia Race Will Go Down to the Wire
"All right, Georgia and New Hampshire. We got about two minutes and then three races. I'm very high on hershel's improving ability to talk and talk to people directly as one guy to one voter. What do you think about Herschel? Yeah, look, he has an enormous strength, which is if there's an enormous reservoir of goodwill. And you're right. He's not been a political candidate. He's been a pro football player in a role model. Somebody who's talked about the challenges that he faced in his own life and how he found the courage to ask for help. I think he's an inspiring figure in your right. He's getting better as a candidate and his opponent is a left winter. Rafael warnick would be right at home representing the state of Massachusetts or Vermont. I mean, it's like he'd be a good California congressman from the Bay Area. I mean, so yeah, there's going to be a barn burner, very expensive and we're going to go right down to the end and fortunately, Herschel's on the ballot with Brian Kemp, who's going to, I think, help him by making it. They're not going to be a lot of people who vote for Brian Kemp and then vote for Rafael warning. Now,
Charlie Pierce: The GOP Has Reoriented Around a Central Delusion
"I loved what you said. What happens when an entire party reorients around a central delusion, we're going to find out you said it's going to take decades of excavation to dig out the crazy in our politics. If it weren't so entrenched in conservative politics already, the previous president wouldn't have found it so easy to anchor himself in the past present and especially future of the Republican Party. It's clear that expressing the unfactual conviction the 2020 election was rigged to defeat the previous president as enthusiastically as possible as the best possible career move for Republican politician. I didn't even heard of this crackpot from Minnesota until you Kim Crockett. Your state candidate, she said, this is our 9 11. And you said, don't try to figure out how the cleanest, most scrutinized presidential election history compares to a terrorist attack that killed 3000 people. That way lies madness. I'm also pretty sure that our actual 9 11 was our 9 11. Yeah. Thank you. Right, but she was saying the 2020 election. Yeah, I mean, in New Hampshire, where Maggie has Hassan is considerably vulnerable. I mean, she didn't win by very much anyway. They're going to probably nominate this or dire general Dan Don bulldog who's, you know, he's somehow went completely off the trolley after doing some really good work on veterans affairs. And now as a complete election denier, plus he called governor Chris sununu, a possible Chinese communist agent. And he's going to get the Republican nomination for Senate, and he's going to lose to Maggie Hassan, who probably should probably shouldn't hold on to receive. I mean, they can't stop themselves anymore. They can't stop these people from being nominated.
Ned Ryun: 'That's Not an Interview, That's a Tongue Bath!'
"Let's know what Jake tapper asked. You just asking a question of Mark Kelly this past weekend. I think it's cut 19. Do we have cut 19 guys? By the way, Ron Johnson, don't forget Ron Johnson, Wisconsin. I want to ask you about your Republican opponent in the upcoming Arizona Senate election. He says Democrats want to quote change the demographics of the country. He is openly embraced Donald Trump's election lies. He has the support of a lot of openly racist notorious individuals. The Arizona Republican nominee for governor says the President Biden isn't a legitimate president. She says she wants her democratic opponent in jail, the Republican nominee for Secretary of State in Arizona. He's a self proclaimed member of the oath keepers. You hold the seat once filled by John McCain, who is a conservative, but he did work across the aisle. He was very critical of voices like the ones I just mentioned, not them specifically, but that kind of what he would call Looney Tunes. Wow. I mean, listen to this. That's something to interview. That's a tongue bath. He's going up there. He's doing the work for them. He's doing the work for them of market on the market. Yes, Jacob, you know, so you get tapper out there to say all the negative stuff and then Kelly gets to come out and pretend like he's this moderate. It's a great game. It's a great scam. But you got to understand Republicans need to understand this. By the way, I do upload say Ron Johnson over in Wisconsin. You need Wisconsin because these are the states, the same key states. You look at the overlays, Georgia, New Hampshire, Wisconsin, in all of these are states that you need for 24 net. Well, I was going to say, first of all, Jake tapper and the definition of corporate propagandist example a definition is Jake. I mean, that was ridiculous, but he really is the norm. Obviously he's not the exception how most of these corporate propagandists are. They're out there to actually fight for one team, not the other. They're not interested in finding the truth or asking hard questions. They're interested in amplifying a certain narrative for their team. And I think once you start to realize, I don't even want to call them mainstream media anymore, Jack. Their corporate propagandists, when they are seen as such, you understand the game they're playing.
Mike Pence Would Consider Testifying in Front of Jan. 6 Committee
"So. This is somewhat unbelievable, but I'm going to help us work our way through this. Mike Pence is going to challenge Donald Trump for the Republican nomination for the presidency. No, it's not written in stone just yet, but that's the only reason to be a New Hampshire right now. And Mike Pence does not own a vacation home in New Hampshire. He doesn't have relatives in New Hampshire, but he's a New Hampshire, and he is laying the groundwork folks for a run at The White House. And he's not the only one. But this could get very interesting because on the debate stage, you could end up having Donald Trump Mike Pence and Liz Cheney. Now the question is, who does Donald Trump pick up on the stage and smack around the other person? Is it Liz Cheney? Does he pick her up and physically just smack the living daylights out of Mike Pence or is it vice versa? But they're all going to be running for The White House. So look, Mike Pence had a couple of things to say. First of all, he was talking about whether or not he would testify or consider testifying at the January 6th committee. Jeremy said, if they were to call you the committee. Come and testify. Would you be agreeable? Why would if there was an invitation to participate, I would consider it, but you've heard me mention the constitution a few times this morning. On the constitution, we have three co equal branches of government. And any invitation to be directed to me, I would have to reflect on the unique role that I was serving as vice president.
Liz Cheney for President? Sebastian and Matt Gaetz Discuss
"To be kind. I want to be charitable. She is fired. The people of Wyoming have fired her, but she needs a new job. She has quoted Lincoln. She compared herself to Lincoln yesterday, so she wants to run for the presidency. What is that campaign? What does that campaign going to look like? Can you help me out here, Madame Curie? We have so much to break down on the pending. Liz Cheney for president campaign, but I have a message to Liz Cheney. Just because you collude with The Lincoln Project doesn't make you Abraham Lincoln. The notion that she is having to surrender a crushing defeat and is then teasing a presidential contest just shows like peak Cheney, no exit strategy. No self awareness. Just, I think probably I think a narcissism that is guiding the decision making more than a review of what this lane actually is. So is the communication strategy for a Liz Cheney presidential campaign to have like an angry Dick Cheney growling into the camera about how the greatest threat to the world is Donald Trump. I'm old enough to remember when he was saying the same things about Saddam. You know, is laying there going to run in one that they're going to have to share with Adam kinzinger and Larry Hogan and the governor of New Hampshire sununu, kind of all these people that think that there's this mass calling. But I do think that Liz Cheney has satisfied her key constituency and that is Washington D.C. media bookers. I think Liz will have no problem sort of being on the airwaves. But when you actually get outside of the swamp of Washington D.C. and you talk to the real Americans who are watching and listening to us right now, there's not this great thirst for like a war mongering rhino who abandons the very principles that the American people are relying upon to build the country and ensure
Pence tells GOP to stop lashing out at FBI over Trump search
"Former vice president Mike Pence says he would give an invitation to appear before the House committee investigating the capitol riot do consideration then president Donald Trump was not happy with Pence for not stopping the counting of electoral votes on January 6th of last year a fake gallows was constructed that day on the national mall and people chanted hang Mike Pence I must tell you that the American people have a right to know what happened that day In New Hampshire Pence says if there was an invitation to appear before the House committee investigating the riot he would consider it Any invitation to be directed to me I would have to reflect on the unique role that I was serving in as vice president Be unprecedented in history for a vice president to be summoned Committee members so far have not decided to seek pence's testimony saying others connected to him have provided investigators with plenty of evidence I'm Ed Donahue
Search for missing New Hampshire girl Harmony Montgomery is now a homicide investigation
"A New Hampshire missing child case has shifted to a homicide probe I'm Lisa dwyer with the latest Authorities say the search for a New Hampshire girl who disappeared at age 5 and 2019 but was not reported missing until late last year is now considered a homicide investigation New Hampshire's attorney general says that authorities have now concluded that harmony Montgomery was murdered police first became aware that she might be missing when they received a call from the girl's mother in November harmony's father and stepmother have pleaded not guilty to charges related to her well-being They told police that the father Adam Montgomery brought harmony to be with her mother in Massachusetts around Thanksgiving in 2019
The Christian Foundation of Our Nation With Bill Federer
"People will say that there's nothing exceptional about America. And that America is not a Christian nation. Tell us why that is historically incorrect. So Muslims invading Europe, the Catholic king of Spain tries to stop them, can't, then Martin Luther starts the reformation. The king of Spain tries to stop that and he can't, and he finally makes a deal with the protestants. And he is called a piece of Augsburg of 1555. I took German in college and you know how to say 1555 in German? Film styles from 404 from sake. I think it sounds funny. Anyway, 1555 piece of Oxford, it let every king decide what's going to be believed in his kingdom. And so suddenly Europe, you have England being Anglican, Scotland, being Presbyterian, Holland being Dutch reform, Greece being Greece, orthodox, Germany being Luther in Switzerland, calvinist in Italy, Spain, France, et cetera, Catholic. And if you didn't believe the way your king did, you fled. And those were the people that spilled over and founded colonies in America. So I read through every charter of every colony. England, you had the anglicans founded Virginia, Puritans founded Massachusetts, congregationalists founded Connecticut and New Hampshire. Baptist founded Rhode Island. Dutch reform founded New York. And the Swedish lutherans found that Delaware and New Jersey and Catholics founded Maryland and then the quakers on the Pennsylvania. So just like Europe, there was a different denomination per country in America was more or less a different denomination per colony, and they didn't get along. And
Democrats could strip Iowa of opening spot in 2024 campaign
"The Democratic Party is considering kicking Iowa out of its spot in leading off the presidential nominating process The Democratic National Committee's rule making arm had planned to recommend today which four states should be the first to vote bumping the Iowa caucuses from its number one spot it would be part of a broader effort to allow less overwhelmingly white states to go early and better reflect the Democratic Party's diverse electorate But the decision has now been delayed until after November's election many rules committee members have privately said that the party is leading toward either New Hampshire or Nevada going first and South Carolina with its large block of black Democrats may move from fourth to third Iowa has kicked off voting since 1976 I'm Donna warder
The 10 Most Important Races in 2022
"Master dot com, Joe day dot com, team Herschel dot com, Ted bud dot com, Morse the number four Senate dot com, Adam laxalt dot com. JD Vance dot com, Doctor Oz dot com, smiley for Senate dot com, Ron Johnson for Senate dot com. That's not order of importance. That's the order of the states. Blake masters in Arizona, Joe Dan, Colorado, Herschel Walker, and Georgia, Ted bud in North Carolina, I think, oh, got that wrong. It's then C, but NH I was using the abbreviations. Chuck Morris in New Hampshire, Adam laxalt and Nevada, JD vents and Ohio, Doctor Oz and Pennsylvania, Tiffany smiley and Washington state and Ron Johnson in Wisconsin. That's the key. Those ten races. And I hope Peter jail gives them all Peter Thiel gives a $100 million to each of those races. Sets up an independent expenditure committee. If you're listening, Peter, I'm just saying, give a $1 billion away and win the country. It matters. It matters. We got to stop these crazy judges. Yes, we got to fix tax policy. We can fix that. We're going to have the House of Representatives in any event. And great candidates winning all across the United States last night. Republicans low end, they're going to pick up ten high end. They could pick up 40. Depends on how badly Joe Biden screws up and what happens with inflation. And right now, the misery index, I think it's baked in. The house is one. Democrats are giving up the retiring in droves. They're running away. And they should. Because redistricting plus the misery index means a Republican wave in the house.

Caller: If People Really Support Trump, They Should Stop Runs
"Want to say something that I know ought to be obvious to everybody that is seems to be obvious with me, especially when you include people like no trumpers and Liz Cheney and fox's Tucker. This is a ploy by the Democrats. All they got to do is put it out and guess what? They don't even have to do the work. We're doing it to ourselves. We'll shoot ourselves in the foot. So Sally, you just think that Mike Pence hanging out for a couple of months in New Hampshire and South Carolina and Iowa. You think that's a Democrat ploy? Well, it's a good way to use it too, okay? Maybe he started out with honest appeal, okay? But once it gets promoted by everybody else, guess what? They found out, hey, that's a good boy. We won't even have to do the work ourselves. I see, I see. So you think this is so you really think there's really nothing to worry about here that if Trump says I'm running, everybody's going to jump in behind the president. No, it needs to be shot down now. If people are really supporting Trump, who has the skills and the ability to work within a national leader with business leaders and do the things that he was able to do because of his finances, he was able to stand up and not back down. And they're not many people who will do that. And he is the one who has proven that will do that. Yeah, look, I mean, I don't object to that. And again, if you've got somebody like a Nikki Haley or a Christian ohm, and they're really not running, but everybody's all the speculation. Just to get their name mentioned, yeah. But Sally, I'm going to tell you that some of these folks really are thinking about running, and we get the we hear from their staff. They send us notes behind the scenes, so there are people that are making moves.
Bell crashes NASCAR playoff field with win at New Hampshire
"Christopher Bell didn't have the best car for most of the race at New Hampshire motor speedway but his crew kept working on it and it came alive as he chased down the leaders and drove away with his first win of the season My car was the fastest one out there especially on the long run And I did my job to maximize that With 6 races left in the regular season bells win has huge implications for the NASCAR playoff stanleys as he becomes the 14th driver to lock himself into the round of 16 They cut off line kept creeping up and up and up So it feels really good to hopefully get myself above that cut off line by a couple spots Chase Elliott finished second Bubba Wallace was third I'm Jerry
"hampshire" Discussed on The Final Lap
"And here is rowdy dragon. Hey everybody, welcome back to the final app weekly fantasy racing segment of the show. I am rowdy dragon. We're coming off of a really good race at Atlanta superspeedway, probably the best one we've seen in years. Let's hope that track surface can hold up, but I really doubt it. There's a lot of weather out in those parts, so we'll see how the next race turns out, but this one was fantastic. In my opinion. I got a lot to cram down your throat this week, so let's just dive right on into it. It's probably gonna be a little bit longer, so hang in there with me. Looking at your stage winners four. Atlanta super speedway. We have a three way tie. Hello man. Du gall and tiny oak show. Little 8. And your second stage goes to UT Steve 7 7. I imagine that you toss Steve. And I want to give a quick shout out. I don't know if y'all saw what I saw, but where is Jimmy was just one point away from taking that stage. There's some improvement going on there. We'll see his stats here in a minute. This week's winner, and Jay hit the pace car, took home 242 points, 53 stage points, real good on that one. Good job. All right, now, pretty sure most every fantasy lineup here at the final app weekly got Chastain this week, I was one of them. I came in the 44th position this week. Only climbing one spot in the rankings to 21st, Toby Christie, he had a bad day also getting Chastain. With a 119th place finish slipping down into the 35th spot in the overall standings, and Carrie Murphy waxed us both. Came in the 41st spot and is moving up into the 87th position. Remember back when he forgot to make his pick that Daytona and he was somewhere back in the 200s. Right on Carrie. Okay, recapping last week's drivers, it's important to take a look back and see where you did good or where you did bad. That's why I'm doing these recaps for you weekly. Let's take a look at what we had the 45 car, the 48 car and the 12 car. Kurt bush and the 45 car was a top ten car all day, taken out on the final lap while running 8th. He did double down on stage points coming up with ten and landed 14th in the fantasy rankings. The 48 car also looked good. He had the fastest lap of the race. But yet another tire. Another blown tire takes him out with one lap left on the second stage. If only he could have finished that stage and collected a few of those points. But that mired him back in the 26th in fantasy points, with a little help from that first stage with a P two finish there. The 12 car of Ryan Blaney finished 5th. He doubled down on those stage points coming up with 14 landing him and P two in fantasy standings. Okay, moving on now to picks for loud New Hampshire. Taking a look at Phoenix and gateway can help you determine your lineups as these tracks have similar characteristics from one
"hampshire" Discussed on The Final Lap
"My God, I actually wish that would have happened now because that would have been just 100% classic TV. Would Rutledge go out the back door quickly. How much might not have made it out of there alive. Honestly, you did this. You jinxed it. Man. All right, so we had some other big wrecks throughout the day. William Byron looked like a strong car. He didn't finish the race very well because of that. Yeah, he was looking like he might have been following up his win in Atlanta earlier in the year. In the mix there and big, big wad up there took him out. Ricky Stenhouse, junior looks solid until the engine went. Yeah, that was a bummer, too. I felt so bad for him because man that JTG Doherty racing team has had some pretty good. That's a pretty good finishes. Here in this middle stage of the season, they were very, very hard pressed to find any good look. Early in the year, but now I'm hearing this little stretch they've had some pretty good runs, and it looked like they had a car that could have possibly won this thing, had it not been for mechanical failures. It's a bummer. Definitely, Alex Bowman had an issue with the wall. He was looking solid until then. Yeah, he cut a tire down. That was interesting. And then at that point he was like, oh no, here come the rash of tire issues, which luckily did not happen. Yeah, yeah. But man, yeah, that was a bummer for him too. Denny Hamlin hit everything on the racetrack because it's his fault. And so then Denny Hamlin had the Ross Chastain thing, which spawned him and sent him to the back of the field. And then I think the thing that really rallied him up at that point was that his teammate, Christopher Bell, then crashed him again. Right. So it's like, man, and he was fourth when the Chastain thing happened, we're in the closing laps here like 12 laps to go or whatever it was and instant your good run is doomed and that's kind of the story of Denny Hamlin's season. He's had a lot of good runs, but it had very few good finishes to show for it, and you wonder if that's part of the frustration as well. Yeah, he won't win the championship. There's no question. His focus is elsewhere. He just hasn't to this point anyway, so the longer he keeps going with this, the more you think, okay, it's just not going to happen. Yes. Definitely. Anything else going on in this race that's notable? No, I think that I think we nailed it. I think we got a lot of stuff there. There was a lot going on. A lot of lead changes pretty wild race again in Atlanta. I don't know. What do you think? Do you like new Atlanta or old Atlanta? Well, I love new Atlanta, but the problem like I mentioned at the top is I think it's going to go away as the surface wears off and it's going to kind of go back to the way it was. Unless, like you said, they tinker with their package. Right. Not tinkle, but they want to tinker. Yes. No tinkling. But the question is, is it too much? Because for years, we've had four plate races a year, and we're tearing up a lot of cars at those. Is it too much to have two more each year? But this is different. It's notably different, but kind of. But kind of similar. And we're still wadding up a lot of cars. I don't know. Is it too much? Will it become too much? No, because like I said, I think it's going to evolve into the way it was. Well, and the funny thing is what people complain and ask if it's too much. You look at the ratings from the race. Have you seen them? I haven't. Good. Okay. So do you remember the first couple race on a USA Network and how terrible the ratings were? I have not been following the ratings. So that's sad to hear. Okay, they've been very, very poor. It's been bad. We're talking really bad for NASCAR rings. But to kind of turn things around this week, at Atlanta, plate races usually draw high audiences on TV, earned a 1.51 rating 2.626 million viewers for Sunday's race in Atlanta, which was up from last year's race on NBCSN. And it's actually the rating on Sunday, beat every race. It was on NBCSN last year. Wow. So there's something to this plate racing drawing in more viewers. I know the drivers don't want more plate races. I know that the team owners probably don't want more play races. But it does result in a higher ratings. And part of the reason for that, everyone has a chance to win. Yeah, I mean, we saw that with the Toy Story was there, man. Yeah, he had a shot. A legit shot. Now, instead he takes away a learning experience, I think. Right. But I think the longer the ratings stay strong for new Atlanta, it'll stay. If ratings start to dip for a new Atlanta, it's gone. Because at this point, it's not attendance anymore. There was nobody there. There was nobody there at the Xfinity race. I texted you that they locked the gates or something. Yeah, they locked it away through the key. You can't get in there. Chase ain't racing today. Right. There was nobody there. Man. Yeah, I know the weather was threatening all weekend long. They were supposed to be weathered during the Cup race on Sunday, of course it held off, but that definitely leads into a big portion of people that go, I'm going to spend my Sunday doing something else. But you expect a little more than that. So I'm sure the attendance was disappointing. Especially with how packed that place was earlier in the year for the first race of new Atlanta. So that's a little concerning that the spectators didn't turn back out this time around. But the TV ratings definitely showed out. Yeah, for sure. Hey, insert delicious sipping sound here. That's more like slurping. Actually drank all my coffee, so I couldn't do it like last week. So I have nothing in front of me. I drink my water in a minute ago. I've got nothing. Yeah, I'm parched, actually. So yeah, let's go percolate some stuff. Yeah, do you got anything in mind? Maybe some haymaker, man. Got some good stuff. I got some of that. They've got rum roast, bourbon roast, it's good. I will go start brewing. Yes. That way I'll have some. Coffee that packs a punch, haymaker coffee. Oh, and check this out. You remember how we had the promo code before, race ten? I love promo codes. That was 10% off your order when you went and put it in a checkout. Website. Check it out.

So yeah you gave tremendous advice to both of our callers in katie made me think about. Mit twenty especially my teen years. When i was first having sex. And i was with my first boyfriend and it wasn't a great relationship but i was in love. I was in love. He was the cutest guy my high school and i couldn't believe he liked me so i was a power dynamic that was equal at all so when i i was having sex i was incredibly self conscious of being very inexperienced. When did you become more sexually confident. It's really interesting because she really affected me in her confidence to bring it up. So i would say when i started sleeping with women because before that everything in my sexual relationships with men was. I never thought about what what i what i wanted. It was. I wanted to be amazing. And everything he wanted and so it never even occurred to me of thinking of a sexual experience in me having pleasure even though like i did at certain things but like i never relieving knew what that was until i was with a woman who i mean on our first date brought out a vibrator and was li- i like this center and i was like god. You can can say these things and and you know those things. And it's weird. Because i think i used to have a big sexual confidence with men because i felt like i knew what could do for you and this is all in my teenage twenty year old. Whatever head of leg. I will figure out whatever it is you like and i will be the best at it and that was what sex was to me so i was pretty confident there but then that was coming from a complete insecurity of like everything else about me so i think it was when i was with women who showed me their confidence and that's why i feel it. Katie affected me so much like i think. It's so important for people like that to be role models. I look to that. And i wanna be like that. Now you can articulate what you need and want and you are reasonable and so therefore you should be able to expect those things. Yeah for me. It's realizing they're on the other side of it. I find that attracted if i find it. Attractive that she says that. I don't want someone who's gonna be like. Oh whatever I like what you like like. it is attractive. Have a self. Which i think especially as an actor when you grow up in it yourself is just whatever anybody else wants emily. Will you tell us about your project. What role wasn't that question. I always like it was a job that i got exactly thrilled. Yeah that question was always like what am i going to say no and not work but what has been great about shits creek is that it has allowed me and i don't take this for granted because i've been an actor who has not gotten offers but i've been given more choice like i can. Now say yes to this and no to that but this actually came to me in such an amazing way that i kind of couldn't say no to it not that i wanted to but i just sold my own. Show that. I'm a writer on for the first time and i was reading. Stephen king's book called on writing. She wrote a book about writing. It's great and i got in my inbox this script and my role in this stephen king adaptation chapa weight is a writer in a stephen king adaptation in eighteen fifties. And so i was like this. Is the universe saying like do this. But also what i loved was. That isn't adaptation of a stephen king story set me eighteen fifties a gothic horror. And what i love. Is that my character kind of goes into this story in the guise of being a governess to get into this house in order to get info for her book. I can't wait that some so great. So yeah it's on ethics and it's with kademi award winner adrian brodie and yeah. It's really if you like. Stephen king you will definitely be satisfied. Okay two different questions one. What was something in on writing by stephen king that you really digested and to. What would be the best advice in general that you broom innate on that you've experienced in your life okay. So from the book it's the simplest thing but it's like right and then put it away and come back to it and it was something that i'd done before. Maybe once by accident. That i came back to something like a month later and i was like. Oh this is not as good as i thought it was or whatever is giving yourself that distance from it and like just write without judgment. Let yourself do that. And make it a practice on a daily basis. But the thing that i now put into practice is the put it away and come back to it later later leader and the best advice i mean. The first thing that comes to mind. I don't know that this is advice though. But it's something. I always think about as an actor. And it's this quote under. Don't even know who it's from but it's just because it's fiction doesn't mean it's not true and that i think of all the time in acting like even when we were ending shits creek people are always like was it hard to leave the show when all that and honestly what was hard. Was these relationships that we'd formed as a cast was so.

"Hey tyler how are you good how are you doing. I'm great. i'm here with emily hampshire. She is just awesome is great teachable. So tyler tell us what's going on. Yeah so my wife. And i have been married for five years. You dated for nine. And we've known each other for about gosh thirteen and i really want to re proposed her away. Tyler you have to tell us about your original proposal which you kind of described as a disaster. This actually is very good. I have been on both ends of a proposal. So i think i help. It's vulnerable position. Oh so vulnerable super. Yes all my empathy is for guys who purpose go forth so Just kind of the story. I guess is we were both in school. I was just completing my undergrad and she just finished her degree and she was going to be moving out of state for a little bit because she's doing like an accelerated program basically and initially. I wanted the kind of like a surprise going away party. And it was gonna be like this really cool thing for this really good event than i found the perfect ring. Ak got to do it. And then i want to do this and just through being excited and everything. I decided that maybe we should make this like one large event. And it'll be really cool. Like i'll just start out as this surprise party. Four and everything and then proposed aware and they'll be like is huge. Sendoff in front of other friends will be epic. I didn't think it all the way through the show. And not only that. It was kind of a trainwreck. Kinda going through on it so it was at a local restaurant slash bar not the most romantic place in the world and down so the idea was everybody is going to be there and then i was going to blindfolds her and just kind of drive around town and we're going to show up so we show up and i'm trying to guide her up to the door and get her inside and they look around and i see like only a couple of people out of just this random crowd of people i look at one of my buddies on my where everybody and he just kind of looks around and shrugs like i don't know so i didn't really to do just kind of like took her blindfold off. She's like really excited and looking around and then she started getting really confused. Like why am i here. So then i see kind of everybody in the back like waving at us. You walked back there and there are a lot of people there in. It's great lakes still had a lot of people. They're no fun. And i got to a point where i have like this whole speech written out of just thinking for being here and we're doing this for more again is a great send-off and she such a great person and then i was going to propose like i had this whole thing written out and right when i started getting everybody's attention. There is a speaker above us. I just started playing slade loud music. No and you're already flustered. Nobody heard my speech. She didn't even know as opposing Got down on wendy this you so you drop something. It was a bummer. So yeah like have a party and all that stuff and then we left and another thing. I kind of dropped. The ball is really planned for us. What to do afterwards like your both living with our parents and stuff so it's not like we had like any time to kinda dislike youth each other kinda i don't just be happy and excited and everything else so it just ended up becoming a fight a little bit a. It's kind of like a down a letdown. Just the realization of like. Oh man i. I really off the ball and it was a bummer by. I mean she's still said yes. Obviously so i mean it worked out. Obviously i watch a lot of on youtube. They had she said knows. And those are also you keep saying you drop the ball and like. I really don't think you did. I think you were kind of you. Know we have victim of really unfortunate circumstances but anyways To this day as she not feel like she had a proposal that was up to her expectations. Were as as early that. It's more on me. That i'm always bummed out when people ask only got eight totally get that like did you do it. I'm like oh my god. So i guess i just kind of ironic that i'd put myself on a podcast. Tell this story. I don't know he's got to get an over with they. Were asking me again. Independent of your specific situation tyler. I have always had like a cynical view on this idea of like the surprise in terms of engagement because it feels terrifying. Kind of like you're about to make the biggest decision of your life and it's a surprise and the pressure is on you know in your case like the proposer to create this grand romantic gesture so i just think the whole system works against all of us as your wife ever brought up the proposal resent you that carries this kind of like i failed. It's me yeah okay. This is good news. This is corrine This is great news. And i completely empathize with you and get this because my ex husband did the greatest proposal of all time and when anybody would ask me how he proposed. I was so proud to say because he made his room into a fort for me because we loved pillow fords and it was super simple but it was just so personal to us and great when i proposed i was so stressed out about what to do because it had to live up to that and i know that might not sound good to people but to me. It meant a lot. So when i proposed to my ex-fiancee i was so stressed out about that being something she would like. That would be the greatest thing ever. And i think what i failed in. That was trying to make it something not as her signal to us and more kind of cliche of what one should do for a proposal. And i'm so embarrassed of it now and so like. I never want anybody to ask me how i propose so i totally get it and it's so stressed all edits. I can't believe you wanna do this again. 'cause i never do it again. The advice though that i would give you're gonna propose is to really do it. Personal to her and what she had no matter what 'cause you clearly served everybody else's needs like the family and friends and stuff and it should be between you guys like a personal inside thing between you guys think definitely i do love the idea of an intimate dinner party at a restaurant with some of those people if she's kind of person. I'm also the with emily. I like having those moments of sentiment very intimate and i think just in general performers. We don't always know what to do. When presented with a real life performance. Yes from a real..

"Flim gorge. It's new hampshire state park. They have tours. they have walking trails. It's much more walking. Friendly than some of the other trails that have boulders boardwalks and railings and all that fun stuff you can either go and visit a small bit of it for free or you can actually go in and get admission and visit more of it now where you say when we start there. We're probably starting somewhere further south. You've already taken us. Almost two thirds of the way up to state to flynn gorge just people on the map to me. That's where all the beauty starts is once you get up in the white mountains in southern new hampshire. It ain't no slacker either. Yeah we'll get into some of the nice stuff in southern new hampshire by having lived around. This area ended massachusetts. I definitely prefer the air up. North is just fresher clean. And you have all these beautiful lakes to kayak and you have mountain views everywhere so once. You're there it's beautiful to me and to lots of people here in new hampshire slim gorgeous someplace where we like to hike. Is my impression hike or visit waterfalls and some of those waterfalls are only about a five minute walk from the car. So you don't have to be like an avid hiker to thief loom gorge in that area. There's also cannon mountain which if it's winter which nobody really comes up here and winter unless you really loved the snow and the cold there's skiing but during foliage time which is the time. Most people love to come to visit new hampshire. You can take sky right up to the summit of cannon so no hiking involved but you still get those over four thousand foot views and lots of great foliage will and you say during foliage simon. you're right obviously. That's a lot of people are going to go or or should go that that certainly the more popular time. But when is that time where you are in new hampshire. 'cause you're kind of in southern canada. They're going to come sooner. Yeah so it varies across the state. There's always foliage maps every year Always recommend people look those up because it does change depending on how cold the season is how much rain. There is an all of that but usually second week in october is pretty prime season. So there are tons of hikes new hampshire. Obviously there's the forty eight four thousand foot mountains. They start at four thousand and they go all the way up to over six thousand feet all different levels of how hard they are. But then there's a lot of mountains that are just real quick hike. Some of them only about half an hour. And you feel like you're up there a lot higher than you are great views. We have a lot of different articles all about our favorite hikes in new england that just endless. I've been hiking for years. And i haven't even done probably half of them if you were to pick two or three from new hampshire. That are your favorite hikes. What would we be including. Actually it's liberty and flame m- so it's right near flu gorge and it's a loop hike. It is one of the most popular. I don't usually recommend it on a weekend because you will have a crowd in the parking lot and even up on the ridge but it is one of the most spectacular ridges ever. You kind of feel like you're in lord of the rings or something like that. It seems like there's drop-offs real sharp at both sides. You're just walking on the ridge between the two mountains and it's a spectacular hike one of my favorite. That isn't a four thousand footer. Is morgan percival. It's another fun loop Obviously like loops the best. I don't like doing that out..

"What kind of itinerary are you going to recommend for someone who is coming to new hampshire. Let's say for the first time. So i have a couple actually. Why have one more for the nature lovers and people who like hayek hike or at least see mountains and that brings you all the way up to the top of new hampshire which borders canada. And ideally you see some moose on that type a trip and i can go over that and then there are some other smaller trips that either. Bring you out to portsmouth and the sea. Coast the ride along. The coast is really nice. Brings into main rail fast. But that's still good and there's a few different towns in between that kind of those must sees. Okay we'll shall we start with the first one then with the outside outdoors absolutely. So if you start in southern new hampshire or anywhere else in new hampshire in you head north you can visit flim gorge. It's new hampshire state park. They have tours. they have walking trails. It's much more walking. "Going wanna go grass whatever it may be and i feel like through all of this even those guys right even the ones that that wasn't their favorite part of what we did on a on a weekend. We we can't we got basis. They even realized that right. And we've all changed kind of our approach. I think we've seen a lot of things that definitely changed for the good as far as that goes and i just think that razor. We've all realized how important the fans are note. None of us want to go back to a an antique and empty facility academics to that wall We'll keep doing what we do. And as long as we keep doing the right thing as a society writing keep the the cobra numbers down as as we have been I think that will get back to normal or at least somewhat here. In near future life will be good. What from this past weekend. What what are your thoughts on the all star race format. It seems like whatever you throw at. Kyle larson it doesn't matter i mean it was a completely randomized kind of race with all the inversions and stages and i'm sorry segments and he's still won the guy's good no question that he's good but i think you know we obviously have ties anders junior parts and and one of the things that i i love is the fact that at one point during that race and you know with george. These is here these last few weeks. They've been one two three one two three four one two anyway. He's vice it. They've had all four cars up front each and every week of how got notoriety because he's been going to victory lane but as a whole fan their company is just fine on all the chevrolet. Campus been you know knocking out of the park. And and that's that's a huge absolutely huge. But you know the personally. I wasn't a fan of the all star race I don't know why it just something about the race just did do i really like last year bristol so not. The texas battery tracked not that Not that it was a bad race. Because i think it's certain points especially those that final stage burner at the end there with those guys being side by side trying to battle it out but You know i i. I liked brisa last year. I have a hard time separating myself from that. And so you know. I i hope i hope and i like birthright bristle number one on my list of every strikes. I'm biased but you know just Hope the fans enjoyed it. I don't know if they did or not but it was definitely different. This year. i just. I liked the format last year. A little bit better. I think from a media perspective. We had a tough time with with the format because it was really really hard to explain. And if it's hard to explain it's probably hard to understand. I think that's something that is is. Let's be honest right. Nobody wants to. Nobody wants to see somebody run around and last right because they think that they're going to catch invert at the right time they try to get to the front of the last days right But on the other hand to you're right. I i think our fans are our fans are smart. Nobody wants to have to try to work To understand something right when they're in the middle of watching mean is an entertainment sport. Brian and we wanna product or as. We want to be entertaining. But that's why fans love and our team right go to the movies. They go to a bar they go watch raise whatever it is they do because they can kind of veg out separate themselves and everything else that's going on and just relax and have fun and enjoy it right. Yeah i think that that to me is the only negative In my mind to the work and understand what's going on because let's be honest I couldn't understand it for a while. Because i was watching it without a little while and i was rory confused so know. I know that there's a lot of fans all That are definitely the steamboat. Absolutely we're just all guy a couple more questions here for part one of our two part interview with with him we'll Do part next week nashville. Superspeedway coming up this weekend it's It's been awhile for xfinity since you've been there. I think like ten years now right it has been awhile You know it's a great ability You know. I missed the fact that we don't go there anymore. You know i felt like You know nashville A great market for us. And you know. I really really felt like it was a place we needed to be and when we lost that race schedule. I was pretty bummed about it. But i'm the love and the fact that we gotta gotta join again You're nationalist thriving as as a city to begin went so excited to get back into the racetrack Fan seemed to be excited about event. Which i think is great having common truck and the whole shebang. There's gonna be a lot of fun. And i just hope that they'll go there. We can put on a good show You know how everything goes smoothly and it works but john. I think that it's a gonna be great event and i look forward to To get him back there and and having some experience i wanted to you guys and they finished. You might even have on their stretch. Show that That hopefully will pay. I favor and being brought their national absolutely. I actually looked it up. You've got six races under your belt. There three top fives and a pole. Dea think some of those truck and cup series guys are going to be coming to you for maybe some advice probably not but keep all the evasion i keep but You know it's going to.

"Got home and were able to cover the race and It was interesting but yeah that rain delay. I was like man. this is a bomber. We're not going to get this animal gonna do this on monday. The they're gonna round of sunlight. And yeah i know you for for of all people texted me all. This isn't gonna go today. I'm like i. I asked google right away. What's the weather like in loud hampshire. And she's like you're good to go guy. Well what's funny is. I'm so i'm usually so optimistic. And i usually hate when people start doing that. Whole thing of angoras today weather right and every time it always ends up you know whatever. It goes the opposite way but had just wouldn't feel him at this time. I just really felt like we weren't going to be very lucky. We got in and That's awesome yeah but okay. Let's talk about nascar. Nascar bunch of clowns. Yeah how much does it need to rain before you decide to stop the race. Well so that's so. There were so many bad officiating calls during this race. That it's hard to even pull them all out one by one here but I think i don't know if you caught the game the night before yankees and boston and they let that go until there was a lake at yankee stadium. I think the same umpires were running. Things at nascar yeah. I don't know what the deal was like. I know they're getting more confident with the whole rain racing thing and everything but you've gotta have rain tyres if you're gonna be running in the rain and if you watch the lap before the lap where the incidents were actually happening you can see. It wasn't going anywhere. Good real fast because those cars were starting to lose control pretty badly the lap before this right. I just don't know why they waited so long to throw the yellow Obviously they waited 'til everybody crashed to do it. But i think hear kyle busch. You're kyle busch you're in the eighteen car you're on that previous lap wouldn't have been better to slow down and lose a few spots. I'm with you on that but at the same time. He's also leader. He's the first one who comes to it and so he doesn't know how you know how much worse it's going to be this time around. He's still trying to win a race. And but you know obviously it's hard to obviously it's easier afterwards to kind of look back and go man. That's just slowed down Time i'm sure he felt like you know he. He's got pretty at car control. i'm sure he felt like he was. He was going to decent pace where he could. He could hold onto it but it shouldn't be his job to police that that should be the sanctioning body. That dictates okay. The track surface on is unsafe to continue. Let's let's throw at some point these at some point. These drivers need to stop trusting in the sanctioning body. Yeah we've been seeing that there's more times now where we should not be trusting them to understand what the situation is because they have clearly messed it up enough. Yeah but then. I saw people say oh. They shouldn't backup cars which is a moot point because they didn't have backup cars new hampshire because there was no qualifying. There's no practice no need for backup. Cars team didn't even bring them But i'm also against that. I think with a trace the racist started. Don't let them pull out backup cars. That's just stupid. No this needs to be a learning experience for the sanction body. you'll let them plow backups. Anyway the sanctioning body ain't you'll learn from their mistake here They're going to think everything's all fixed. Everything's hunky dory. I would like to see them. Get rid of the the damaged vehicle policy where you can at least work on the carlo. Longer if it's something like this but But no no backup cars. That's that's just ridiculous. That's a can of worms. You don't want to people using excuses on anything that happens to try and get it back and also the those cars are not going to be. Those cars are not inspected as well. I mean what they're not as inspected as well. It takes a while to get them ready anyway. So if you have a short rain delay or whatever it's you're not going to get ready in time So then you're delaying things to make sure the guy can get ready You've got a situation. Where if it is if there are backup cars that means there was practicing qualifying beforehand. Which means everybody else's a disadvantage because their cars have been used all weekend fresh car midway through the actual race. That's coming in. And i'm sure they're going to try to argue to get their actual spot back. Since it was a nascar mistake that lost the spot. Just no no no no you crash at say. There's no do overs. This isn't the pro invitational series right exactly or the all star race. Jeff gordon one that which is a prime example you bring out the back of cars for some people and of course aibak car won the damn thing so yep. It's stupid don't do it. Let's run down the top ten denny. Hamlin is kind of a fixture there at number ten these days. Just can't can't move up. He's finding a way though to hang on to that point lead week after week and He better than yeah. That's his claim to fame to hang onto this playoff picture. The way things are going we got four races left in the the spots are closing up so he needs to hang onto that regular season championship if he wants to move on it. Looks like alex. Baumann pretty decent run at number nine there. Yeah man yeah. You've got the three wins. And he's starting to put these decent runs in his back pocket. He's almost to the top ten in points now Which will give them some extra bonus points if he can get there. So he keeps chiseling out. These diesel-run still have a shot at that. Ross chastain also showing showing some decent signs of runs. Yeah ross chastain guy. That's interesting because he's got his teammate. Kurt busch who's really high on him now. After helping him be. Kyle busch last week so i think as we get to places like daytona which is the ultimate crap. Shoot for this thing. He's teammate in his back pocket. Who wants to help them now. So i think that really bodes well for him. And he's been good on road courses which we're going to walk ins lynn next in a couple of weeks I just feel good about chastain. He's show some pretty good speed here recently and he's been making decent decisions on the race track. I feel pretty good about him. Member month ago. We thought kyle larson was gonna win. Everything and motorsports was just dominating this this and i said something like yeah but it. It goes in cycles and here. We are pile larson. Not even a factor at number seven. Yeah so it's funny. We call them. Not a factor at number seven but a lot of guys would kill to have a seventh place finish on the weekend but yeah it is kind of weird because he had such a run going and you wonder how much things might not have changed For him had he not blown that tire in the final ap pocono going for his fourth straight win. Had he gotten that maybe the confidence it would be a little higher. The momentum would still be going. The team would feel invincible. But you have a situation like that just something that shows that you are human and things start to unravel a little bit. So they've kind of things button backup there. Looks like Hendrick as a whole this week was a little slower than what we're used to sing. Yeah these these guys were the top two For hendrick. Alex bowman and kyle larson their seventh and night. We had like a whole month there were. They were the top two cars at least and every race so they need to get back on and if they're gonna wanna feel like they're the ultimate team going into this thing and until the rains came. It looked like toyota is going to dominate the first portion of this race. Then we saw the fords come on strong. And that's basically all it's left here in the The the rest of the the standings here you got Kevin harvick with sixth-place finish. Yeah and kevin harvick man..

"Him. Destroy an actual Street version of the car with his race car version of the car. I don't know. Yeah by the way i think is is true x. Traumatized at this point. I mean the last time he raced in the rain didn't go so well. This time he races in the rain again. Not so well. Yeah so maybe he should stay out of the rain stuff maybe although at least this time he didn't have cole custer land on him so that's good. There's always that. Yeah that's a good thing but Yeah so it's funny. The pace car thing We do incident tracking at toby. Dot com if you go in there to stats go down and find incidents. Go to cut through two thousand twenty one stats. We have added an incident for the pace car and its driver kept childress. Now in twenty. Races kip childress in the repays. Car has one incident which is a point. Oh four or five of an instant paret. So they're now on on the list. all right. do you have Like the jet dryers to but didn't want and slide down. The bank is kind of hard though because they don't always show all those. But i think there's been two instances of that this year we just haven't added them yet. Maybe we'll go back and do that but we don't know who the drivers are of those things. Yeah that's true. I call him jet drivers. I know they have those plus the other fancy ones and stuff like that. So yeah two and a half hour delay by my watch because i got a good nap. It was it. Oh man. afterwards. I was ready to go for some racing. So that was that was a perfectly timed rain. Delay on my part so very cool. Two and a half hour delay started. I'm still driving home We're heading home from From vacation and like okay. This is perfect. I'm going to be most this race And it worked out. Well we got home. I got to check it all out. Get to cover it. And i'm sure joseph schrager. Who writes for me was very happy as able to help. I actually wrote the story about the cowboys stuff happening while in the car riding as a passenger so all right got home and were able to cover the race and It was interesting but yeah that rain delay. I was like man. this is a bomber. We're not going to get this animal gonna do this on monday. The they're gonna round of sunlight. And yeah i know you for for of all people texted me all. This isn't gonna go today. I'm like i. I asked google right away. What's the weather like in loud hampshire..

"Not this new party that you've created and she's using his letter to say that in his follow up email you would assume he would have to make that point like how would you possibly send another email if that were the situation and not go. Yeah no. I did not authorize any of this. I don't have the authority to authorize any of this so the fact that he didn't kind of i mean beyond a reasonable doubt proves that's exactly what's going on here because it's just it's too inconceivable that someone would claim like if i signed a letter you know to like rob bernstein and said like this the entitles you the podcast that you are on is officially part of the problem and then he goes. Hey i'm starting this new podcast and this is part of the problem now and look. I have this letter from dave. But that wasn't at all what i meant by it. I did not give him authority to do this. And then i sent out an email. I wouldn't be like well. Rob's claiming one thing some other people are claiming another thing. We'll have to sit back and see what happens. I i think i would just be like no rob sandwich. Another thing that she said is that she had consulted with the region eight representative which is a guy named tucker coburn tucker coburn was the lone no vote on having tom woods at the convention and he is a known macy's caucus hater so raises question on whether the region a representative was involved in this. There's another llc member that resides in in new hampshire. We have no idea where they are on this So it's it's pretty bad but that that video that karen in in some of the members with was extremely damning. That's where the discrepancy in. It was about jackie berry being expelled. Well it was signed on the seventh. That's where that came from. And what was the funniest part of that whole video was it really seemed like jarvis. Didn't realize what she was copying two until she was about halfway through copying to it like karen was like right. So hypothetically if convention the national convention was tomorrow which organization is sending delegates. She's kind of like. I guess mine the you know like it would be mine but yet in an. I don't think it's hit her the seriousness of like credit card data. That's not good like credit donor. Data it has been stolen and and for all you know they could. Whoever has it might have copied it. Yeah you're i mean like in an end so that is a serious serious situation. That is not being properly addressed the ellen see and if you read that ellen email it is disgusting. The just the some of the the the absolute casualness with which this is being approached and people are clearly Well not so not all of them but some people are clearly more worried about making sure that joe bishop henchmen looks good all of this and we're not casting his first job as you know in and all of that and it's clearly factional And and that is disgusting that needs to be pushed back on because again the move here is going to be a. We'll restore new hampshire and yeah. I'm sorry listen even to people out there who are critics of the mesa's caucus and if you don't like our messaging or you don't like the way we do it or you don't like anything else about us. That is fine. we can save those conversations another time. This is very clear. cut how. What is the argument that they had the authority to do this. And if it's just so what we're looking at here was a coup attempt of a state affiliate party and to any member who's the leader. I mean if you can't stand up to that you are not fit to be in leadership now to their credit. A lot of pe- look karen harlow has just been really truly has integrity and demonstrated that throughout this whole thing again she's not mesa's caucus and she has been critical of us in the past. She's been critical of me in the past on several different counts. And i think that's fine. I think he has every right she. I think she actually might have been right about some of criticisms of buzz. And i think she long about others but may sure to yell at me and say this is the result of the takeover language. And i'm like that's here fall. Take all right guys. Let's take a moment and thank our sponsor for today's show which is fume fume. "hampshire" Discussed on Sci-Fi Talk: The First Season
"Thank you. Hainan sci-fi talk today. We have a conversation with. Emily hampshire from twelve monkeys. This talented actor plays jennifer goings into series. She tells us some news about her character and some of the rules. She's also playing in addition to jennifer. But i tell you. I have been a binge watching a lot of twelve monkeys. I'm actually i think towards the end of february was the last episode scheduled to air. So i've seen. I've seen all your work so far. And it's gosh it's your daughter you at the episode It's called i think night's something. It's it's the nate room. No no no. Was it something that he says to her It was actually. It's but i've seen the night room too but it goes beyond that. There's the red now you you know lot. There's a red forest is after that. So i'd have seen that four. So you've seen way more than i've seen. I've only seen in full episodes like one or two like the pilot in the second one but i've seen bits of the night room But yeah no. You've think you know way more than i do. I know and i can't say anything. I gotta i gotta be a good boy and not no spoilers but but i know that's what i'm really not that in these interviews have not used to this kind of kind of guy. You can't change anything. I was at the roundtable at new york comic con. And i know you act. That's the first time you mentioned that. I was there so that was cool. I remember that and that was my first time doing like comecon By think i said the wrong thing at every single great matter of fact after you left everybody on our table agreed that you are that you were gonna hit it out of the park on in the role and and you share did. It was a great part for you know that. That's so nice. I mean i i obviously i think anyone mcgee little Nervous before this comes out knowing how much people of the movie and and also that experience at comecon like i. Because i think i've that before that i wasn't initially like this isn't my world i i was never like sci-fi fan even though i've now i'm writing wonder woman flippers. Changed my but but that was my first experience with how much fans like. Really get into this sort of thing there and Especially what i've realized on twitter and just -ocial media is i. I'm just doing press by their dedicated. He's not just our show but like any show that they're into they know more than you really invest in it. And so i thought my pressure initially was just like dipping into the shoes of brad pitt. Which would not enough pressure for me then realizing you know how invested then i'm like god i i need to be more invested. Not until it's been actually really nice to see the reaction On twitter and stuff to who've been live tweeting is all new to me but Vici fat like well. Maybe not yet but people are watching the show their reactions and support and encouragement. Jimmy especially has been like oh ugly and relieving. The good thing is ratings wise. It did very well. You know it said a couple of records for sci-fi that night and so there you got off to a great start so I i think what they're doing is a challenge like even like the numbers have been great and even if they hadn't been. I would've thought that that's something to me. What i know of the show is they're doing a bit of a different thing on sci fi with it. It seems what i've seen as more of a like cables show that that you know it's not sharp. Nato and not that god that that's what they do on the have been previously doing on the network and i think they're trying to like change things over that and that he may take time or at least how i would watch. This show is like you just said i would binge watch the way people watch t. Nowadays i think measuring numbers must be. I don't know how they do that. I don't know if i believe in numbers. Yeah they're still figuring out you know how to count for people watching things on demand and call so You know watching and especially listening audience. Well i mean. I wouldn't see for all of a but this audience is exemplified by my brother. She is like this kind of stuff and he also super smart computer way. God help me when. I get home for like this. He's like oh. Yeah i've already seen the pilot and And i'm like what out in like yeah government way. So it's like those those you can't help those people who've the minute An episode of that. The frothy thing somebody that and people like geniuses like my brother and most of the people on can find this stuff. Oh yeah absolutely absolutely. Well i'll tell you just. I mean we can talk about episode to because it aired and i just i think you gave her a lot of Obviously was in the script. I think in your performance you gave her a lot of different levels to the character because yeah a lot of it sounds like gibberish but then occasionally she'll say something that indicates that she is actually pretty a pretty intelligent young lady and so i'd like that you gave her those different levels in the performance. Obviously it was there on the script. But you also did that. How did you kind of prepare for that. Did you have a lot of direction from from the show runners at all or the. It's a combination of things. But i'm glad you notice that that was really was really important to me with this character and i give anything that they're not a cartoon or a character or especially with jennifer going because there was no much like height beforehand about this character. I didn't want them to take it from the movie and bring it into tv and her just to be like comic relief for some kind of like crazy like wanted her to be a real person. Because what i read off the page affected me and was a whole human being. So i did mean terry metallised. One of the co creators of the show talked at length about this character. And i think it was. I think jennifer it was kind of hit baby because there was blood pressure on bringing. How are we gonna bring this jackson going character in. I think initially they were like we're just not going to do. We're not going to do. And then when they decide sneaking a girl he told me just going to calcium process worker. Found somebody who they thought was that character or could do that So i think he was really invest in therefore we sent out. It was great to have somebody who was so willing to la. Talk about it with me all the time. Because i'm trying to like that. Like i do want to delve into every word to me has dory behind you and especially with somebody like jennifer when.
"hampshire" Discussed on The Takeaway
"So while I'm up here in New Hampshire. I wanted to talk to someone who can help us understand the political terrain so on a snowy and slippery day and Bedford. I sat down with is one of the premier political experts in the State Dante scholar. A professor of political science. At the University of New Hampshire. I started by asking him whether the mess in the Iowa caucuses would play play a role. In how primary voters New Hampshire are thinking about the candidates. It seems to me that they are slowly. But surely absorbing the fragmentary very incomplete information. That's come from the Iowa caucuses. Typically what it does for New Hampshire is at least frame the choice choice New Hampshire voters may not agree with whom Iowa voters picked as number one but typically they at least take hints as to a WHO's a viable candidate. Who's not who exceeded expectations? Who didn't and I think we're seeing now in New Hampshire tracking polls that that New Hampshire voters are indeed absorbing deciphering the information from Iowa and applying it to their decisions? I say that because because the candidate who exceeded expectations more than anyone else people to judge is now surging in to tracking polls in New Hampshire and appears now to to be in second place perhaps just ten percentage points behind Bernie Sanders and the candidate who disappointed expectations. The most former vice president Joe Biden. Heiden is skidding in the New Hampshire polls but it appears at least that I will results though painstakingly. Slow are solid right. There's not a cloud over them that we're hearing from the other candidates no one's questioning them the legitimacy of them and so so therefore we are seeing results. Come in the New Hampshire Union leader above the fold front page. Yesterday ran two pictures Bernie Sanders offers end people to judge. And do you think that the contrast between the two of them has also been made clear in other words Bernie Sanders representing the more liberal L. Revolutionary Wing of the Party and people to judge being the moderate both campaigns through the past year. I've had a great presence in the state I I would rank them both among the top tier in terms of campaign organizations resources etc so they are both obviously Bernie. Sanders is a well known. Commodity in new Hampshire at this point but peop- Buddha Jr is also well known and they have been busy defining themselves I mean sanders really was defined from day. One one in New Hampshire. Nothing's really changed about Bernie and sometimes people question whether that was a good thing or not for him. It's turning out to be a pretty good thing but people knew him Pete Bourgeoisie Newcomer but he was a newcomer. Who caught fire? Early in New Hampshire. I remember an event in must have been march or April where where it was sold out and people judge came outside to talk to maybe a hundred two hundred people who were the overflow crowd and that was back in in March April. so He's been well gotten to be well known here and I think in the past few months he has been describing himself alf defining himself as that moderate alternative so at this point I think that's becoming cleared voters and in addition we're starting to. Let's see the moderate lane perhaps clear up a bit or at least Buddha. Judge has sped forward ahead of Biden back into the moderate lane and he speeding-off Often Biden his spinning wheels New Hampshire as you pointed out. It's at big working class population especially in places like Manchester. But the southern part of New Hampshire is basically Boston suburb and a lot of affluent suburban voters. So talk to us a little bit about the geographic. Divide in the state and what we should be looking for. So half of the Democratic primary vote next Tuesday will come from just two counties hillsborough and Rockingham both border Massachusetts and both are as you say the outer suburban Ring of Boston a lot. A lot of affluent Democrats We're here in Bedford New Hampshire Bedford in a general election. Tilts very heavily Republican and but there will be at least three thousand Democrats voting here next Tuesday. That's almost twice. As many as has the city of Berlin way up north will produce so there are a lot of those affluent suburban voters in places like Bedford Wind Ham Pelham bow up in merrimack county. Portsmith On the Seacoast Exeter. These are places where if Buddha judge is going to succeed and by succeed I mean not just a strong second. Perhaps but I haven't ruled out at this point. The possibility that he could challenge sanders for first. First Place in New Hampshire. He's GonNa have to succeed in those suburban towns which also interestingly although sanders did well everywhere New Hampshire ready swept all ten counties. He did relatively worse among some of those affluent towns which I just mentioned Hillary Clinton did better there so I'm curious to see whether sanders can duplicate. That performance does worse there than previously. Can Joe Biden have a comeback back kid moment here. I don't think so that would surprise me quite a bit and I say that because from what. I've seen both in polling numbers as well as in person at a town hall that I saw in Peterborough will it. Last month New Hampshire voters are favorably disposed to the former vice president. They've like him but they are not riding or dying with him. If Biden had one Iowa and struck decisively there. I do think a lot of New Hampshire voters those moderates and moderately liberal voters. We were talking about would have fallen in line. Do you see I mean. Obviously obviously when you're not sitting in South Carolina you are here in New Hampshire but can Buddha judge in your mind really own a moderate lane without showing he has more support outside of they sort of white liberal somewhat liberal group. No I think I think that I mean this is the easy terrain for P. Gets Rocky and uphill from here and momentum momentum has its limits it tells the rest of the country what you're about so people are learning what people judge is about out who he is and so forth and it means that other affluent white somewhat Liberal Democrats will say okay. It's Buddha jr but that doesn't mean gene that will resonate the same way with African American voters or Latino Latina voters doesn't mean that at all. I guess might mean that. Buddha jets reaches that national audience which we see microscopically here in New Hampshire. So that's another hill for him to Klein on and right now if I had pick sanders or Buddha judge In terms of overall appeal to African American voters I would bet on Bernie Buddhis- tried somewhat let and has failed again and again that change weird things happen But there's no evidence of that so far Dante scholar. Thank you so much for coming and talking with me here in Snowy Bedford New Hampshire. You're very welcome.

"And people need to know who he is and one thing about you know winning. The Iowa caucuses says is that that's something that comes out of it. People are talking about you as the winner and that is didn't exactly happen in the past. Couple of days people I think news Outlets were were cautious of that as results were still rolling in and even now there are some questions about the counts and accuracy. So I think we're waiting to see what will happen with that. And so I think on one hand. It sort of makes New Hampshire very important for him. He's always said he needed to do well. And Iowa and also New Hampshire but perhaps more so oh now new Hampshire because he does need to continue to build that momentum going into Nevada South Carolina and even continuing onto Super Tuesday and California But I think the poll numbers are going to be interesting to see is he did he get a bump Among voters of color following those win. That's right and Josh I wanted to just ask you about the two people. You haven't really talked about Biden and Warren. What do you think the expectations are for them? They seem to have fallen fallen off. Here well You Know Biden. I was out with him and he he gave one very lacklustre performances. I stop in New Hampshire. Second Stop in Summers Worth. He went after Sanders. Buddha judge much more directly than he has thus far it's clear talking to his top supporters. Here that they you know and it's obvious that he needs to really do something here now during this harassing open question and warn you know. She has strong operation here. She has a lot of supporters reporters. You know she could you know. Don't count her out. She has been Somebody who was also counting on a big win in New Hampshire she's also a neighboring during senator and like Bernie Sanders and the polling especially over the summer. showed her doing really well here. What happens if Elizabeth Warren comes comes in third or lower New Hampshire? I don't know what happens. But what has happened with. Her campaign is very interesting. If you had followed her around in the early fall all you could find lots of voters who are really deciding between Warren and Sanders and people who had voted for war of voted for Sanders in two thousand sixteen. A lot of them said they felt worn. Warne was running a better campaign was More specific about what she was going to do and seem to be more energetic out there. Now certainly. If you're going to run on I've got a plan for that and you can't really explain how you're going to execute your medicare for all I think that may have heard her. But You know it's interesting question. I really don't have a great answer I it's it's sort of a mystery to me and certainly there are a lot of There are a lot of people passionately. Supportive of Elizabeth Warren. And you know this may be the circles. I know socially but there are plenty of women in New Hampshire WHO WANNA vote for Warren and don't want to vote for people to judge embraced very sanders and so that is another dynamic. That will be interesting to see how where we end up on that front. Yeah and just noting here. I'm looking at the front page of the Boston Globe today. Which is essentially a paper of New Hampshire and it says Warren still dealing with fears about a woman beating trump's so clearly we're still talking about that Priscilla let's talk about somebody who We heard about while we were talking to voters. And that's Mike Bloomberg. He's not on the ballot here but we heard from a couple of folks who said to us well. I don't know I might vote for this person. Also taking a look at Mike Bloomberg. Yeah I mean I think that is one of the things that we were asking people to judge a lot lot whenever Mike Bloomberg I got it is what that might mean for him when he does get to the Super Tuesday states. And you know. There's the possibility of you know Mike Bloomberg being their prepared to capture that and you know. Buddha judge has sort of criticize you know veiled swipes at people who are using money to get on the airwaves and sort of get get their voters that way versus getting you know the the retail politics of having to respond.

"Us today. From New Hampshire Public Radio here in Concord New Hampshire where in just a few days on February Eleventh New Hampshire holds the first primary contest of the two thousand election now normally. The results of the Iowa caucuses would be driving the political narrative here. The night of the caucus would see one candidate with the victory jury speech and others trying to put the best face on a loss and all of US reporters candidate's campaign staff would rush off to New Hampshire where we'd arrive in the wee hours of Tuesday morning exhausted but somehow forcing ourselves to sprint for another week. Of course what we have out of Iowa is well pretty much muddled mess Totally screwed up at a lot of people are wondering what the Hell is going on there. Still so many questions about what happened in I mean I y chaos and delay and turbulence and confusion around Iowa Caucus results getting big numbers these places breath. You're sorry the this is the bad place late on Thursday. The Iowa Democratic Party released the final tally which showed people to judge narrowly besting Bernie Sanders with twenty six point. Two percent of delegate equivalents to Sanders is twenty six point one three percent let Sanders said already declared victory victory earlier on Thursday pointing out that he leads in the popular vote and via tweet on Thursday DNC chairman. Tom Perez called on the I would Democrats to to begin a recount of the results right again and see if you get the same day. Peres's under fire with some Democrats calling for him to step down. So what does this mean for New Hampshire and the rest of the Democratic nomination process for that I'm joined by Priscilla Thompson Twenty twenty campaign in bed with NBC. and Josh Rogers Politics reporter at New Hampshire public radio. Thank you both for joining me in studio today Both of you have been on the campaign trail trail here in New Hampshire's especially yesterday Priscilla I'm GonNa Start with you you were out with people to judge as you have been For well many months since the fall at least tell us what it was like to be with people to judge now post Diawara and what you heard either from him or the crowd. That was different from what was going on earlier in the campaign. Yeah I mean yeah I think it's very interesting to be with him here. Post Iowa because we see a situation where he's calling it an extraordinary week and you know at some points using being the word victory but here in New Hampshire. He's really been sort of focused on you know but now I need to worry about New Hampshire and New Hampshire thinks for itself off and so we need to figure out how we're going to get the votes here in New Hampshire and so you know. He had a veterans of this week. He's really been leaning into sort of some of that You know part of his persona and personality and I think he also recognizes that there are a lot of independent voters here and so he's really trying to sort of bring those folks in and I think what I found most interesting particularly about his events this week that he hasn't really been asked a whole lot about the Iowa caucuses and in those results or anything like that during the QNA's at his events And so maybe that's very telling that New Hampshire will think for itself and is making up New Hampshire voters which are making up their minds for themselves and Iowa won't have perhaps as big of an impact as it has in the past Josh. What about you I to Priscilla's point point about maybe Iowa just wasn't that important or isn't that important for Iowa voters this time around and the other is that you were with Bernie Sanders yesterday? He of of course did very well in the state in two thousand sixteen. What did you see in here? We'll certainly New Hampshire of rarely follows Iowa's lead elite. I think there's been since two thousand four when a Democrat carried. Both Iowa and New Hampshire and New Hampshire certainly likes to think of itself as a place where People make up their our own minds and often make up their minds late as far as Bernie Sanders goes He had originally had no schedule events yesterday and then called a press conference at a campaign headquarters in Manchester. No people just reporters seeing tripods He came out and said we won and he said That was based on his confidence that he had more votes in Iowa and that the delegates situation was going to be a wash and that in northern New England he emphasized when you get more votes. You Win and you know he took a series of questions about Some of the results in Iowa such as you know turnout being a little lower then people at anticipated and what that meant for him given that The viability of his campaign long-term has kind of Predator ability to turn out more voters and build a coalition. That can they can be trouble. He comes spun the Iowa turnout numbers by saying that a higher percentage of young voters had turned out than in prior caucuses. I think it was like nineteen eighteen. percent or twenty five percent was the numbers decided. And he felt that bodes. Well from New Hampshire. I mean one thing that we ought to bear in mind in New Hampshire. Is that you know. A lot of people have voted for Sanders. Here here in two thousand sixteen he got sixty percent of the vote and he beat Hillary Clinton two to one we're in a very different world now but It's worth bearing in mind that a lot of people have already indicated they're comfortable voting for Bernie Sanders and is the expectation game. Then one that Bernie Sanders has to be careful about. In other words. The the expectation is of course. He's GonNa win New Hampshire. He won here big in two thousand sixteen. He's from New England. Everybody knows him and if he doesn't win or if it's very close what does that mean for him. Hard to say I mean. I think that he feels feels that he needs a strong result here. And his organization which you know is pretty vast in terms of The cadre volunteers and canvassers You you know they certainly have been you know peppering every person I know cell phone with You know get out and vote for Bernie and you know. There's there are indications that that That he's going to have a strong showing here on the Buddha judge side. I mean Priscilla's right in terms of the role that independence could play. You know there. There's over four hundred sixteen thousand independence independence or called undeclared voters New Hampshire. They're allowed to participate in the primary. You know with the absence of a competitive Republican primary You know more of them are going gravitate towards the the democratic side and while the number of so called sport voters who really Kinda swing is pretty small You know for Budejovice. There are a lot of moderate voters in New Hampshire. There are a lot of union moderate Republicans who may vote in the Democratic primary. Who you know he could potentially pick up? I mean New Hampshire is a good good place for what you say would be a Buddha judge to coalition of you know well educated relatively well heeled moderate voters you know. The electorate is Obviously pretty light on voters of color. That's one area where you know. Judge is GONNA do well beyond New Hampshire. He's going to have to work on. But you know he's in a good position to do well here or and certainly with Joe Biden's campaign Not Looking so strong at the moment. That's another thing that in his favor and Priscilla that's exactly where he wanted to go with you about this question of voters of color mean for Buddha judge to do well in Iowa New Hampshire. Those are just tailor made for a candidate like people to judge. And especially here in New Hampshire as Josh pointed out with the southern New Hampshire is basically suburb of Boston and those kinds of voters really have been attracted to Buddha judge but the the question still lingers once we get out of New Hampshire and we had to Nevada and we head to South Carolina. How can he pick up votes from people of Color definitely a question? That's still up in the air. I mean I think it'll be interesting to see the poll numbers coming out of Nevada and South Carolina after Iowa and even after after New Hampshire. Because one thing that he's always said is that once you know I need to prove that I can win and once I proved that I can win. Those voters will see that. They'll you know sorta tune in a a little more than my message. Perhaps and then he's also just said that like he's got a work for that vote.
