"A mixture you want to hear that song thompson twins song. That's great. see what you know. What really sucks about like Like people that listened to shell sending in stuff it shows that they have talent management's going to hear that and go why why we pay these jerk off it. Doing these guys are pretty good that email. Oh i got wolfback stuff for guys. I got all kinds of even. I played on the phone yesterday. So i'll share battle later on and once again like we said it is thunder phones today which is five one three one three seven nine seven nine when that phone rings here in the studio i just pick right up. It's a it's meets favorite thing. Oh god yes kathy. The phone rings stuff. You know on a calls count anywhere friday on hold sparred that means when the phone rings i just pick up live no matter what is going on here on the show okay But first we will go to over here to mr bryan combs. I got an angry text about you yesterday. Good say we're spreading lies and hate and stuff. So i guess what you talk about on our show is talked about anywhere probably saved the best stuff for you know right right. Y'all we got our email yesterday because we have coming up. Our countdown to the fireworks are big to to parties leading the western so the wb and fireworks. And they're at that new ovation. Yeah and we got the email yesterday saying hey we gotta spread the word that you can't go in let's vaccinated. Ag presents the place. They made it a decision for all of their Venues across the country. The promo west pavilion at ovation. We'll be requiring vaccinations or proof of a negative cova test within the last three days to gain admission to the concert or the you you could buy a fake one. But you'll have to spend a bunch of money that we interesting. How did take a picture of somebody else's i mean there's no photo. Id on it. Obviously i mean there's a tunnel ways around this i think they're they're just making a statement that This is the way who knows. It have come from their lawyers who that could very. Well be that. The lawyer said look for liability reasons. You have to tell people who come in that they need to be vaccinated or show that they don't have covert Just in case there's an outbreak at your place later and you face a lawsuit. Well but here's what i understand is what is the purpose of it if you're unvaccinated or not you could still be carrying You still be positive for even if you have vaccine. You could still be positive for it. You just not getting really sick. That's right but You know you wouldn't be spreading it to people who aren't protected them so at least if if somebody in there is offering it i see if everybody's vaccinated then They aren't gonna have serious side. Right okay okay. I mean the the point of the vaccine is that the people who've gotten it don't end up in the hospital and don't end up dying so but if if if it's it's five thousand people and everybody in arras vaccinated and in one guy shows up. He's vaccinated in his carrying it and spreads it throughout every he could spread through. Everybody could but the people who were there aren't going to get sick from it right but if they even know they have it right but if they leave they could also spread it their their world. Well so i mean so maybe it is just a liability thing. That's got you know you can say. Hey we didn't we didn't cause a super spreader event. Yeah i mean the yeah. The ceo says that You know he's going to get pushed back on. The s knows that it's not going to be a popular decision With many people but in the end he feels like know. This is going to put them as he said quote on the right side of history. Yeah and take care of performers. Come in and his workers and staff as well as the fan. Yeah i mean in all reality. They have a business to run right. I'm sure some of the performers. We can't be touring around. I have a huge staff and we saw earlier in the week with maroon. Five said you know. We're not going anywhere that doesn't require a vaccination passed so when they come to river. Bend the up. you know. People are going to be checking for vaccine cards. So ohio hasn't done anything yet. As i was done. Nothing in terms of requirements. In fact i mean the legislature. Pretty much tied. Everybody's hands at the end of their last session. They passed a law that basically said no local health departments can issue health orders on this like cincinnati health department. They wanted to say. Hey you know anybody who goes to the river ben. Yeah you know you need to have a vaccine states. You can't do that and the same way you know. Like if a hamilton county health department wanted to issue a mask mandate for all the schools as they have recommended. They can't do it while the lawmakers said no. You're not you're not allowed to do. He's up for reelection. this was the legislature. That wasn't just a governor. But yeah i mean so the state health department could still do it then you know. Those rules are reviewed by the legislature within thirty days according to the new laws so they really did tie the health. Department's hands in many ways. Imagine if Cranley starts a closed down stuff and he's running for governor. Good luck after that. I mean i. I was just listening to the governor of kentucky and You know closings capacity limits. All those things even in andy beshir's minder off the table. He said clearly. We're not going back to that. you can't event. That is not going to happen now. It feels like asking people to wear a mask is not that big of an ask to help control this latest surge but he said there's no way that they are going backwards to those other things. I gotta be honest. i'm still confused with the. You can't come in without a because you could still have it and spread it. I don't get it. 'cause you're in the mass Would make it less likely that you would spread it. Yeah yeah. I don't know because it could be a full five thousand people that have the vaccine in their bodies and still be positive and then walk out of there and still spread at the somebody who doesn't who hasn't been vaccinated or vacuum and they still get sick so i don't understand how this is helping other than making going. You're not going to have fun on our at any of our places unless you're vadnais. They require mass on top of the vaccine passports. That could be confused by in dog. Find out vaccinate thanking you know if you talked to turning or somebody maybe it's company protecting itself that's fine the come out and say that. Hey for the best interest of our god damn company to stay alive. We have to do this. Yeah but since we've got a couple of shows coming to ovation where do you think people are gonna point the fingers. They're not gonna blame us. There's no way governor. Doug you said yesterday you said you know the schools. If you're getting feedback from parents and getting graph. Just tell them it's my fault. Blame me. I'm fine with security yup close to you. Yeah wealth. we'll see a black label. Society show is almost sold out over. That's i guess but that's an ohio. It's going to get confused because within thirty minutes you can drive into kentucky to indiana back to ohio so when people are like going to indiana to do something you've got to figure out. What are the rules in indiana for a concert or going indoors. And then you're in kentucky like wait a minute and then you're like oh no. I live in ohio. Yeah it's gonna be such a cluster in my losing something here. Am i the whole thing about 'cause they say even if you're vaccinate you could carry the whole thing with the vaccinations that you're not going to get really sick on the right. Okay i mean so what's the difference between being vaccinated or not going into a show. I don't get off. You're not vaccinated. You could essentially die. And go into the icu. Right catching it or you could just catch it and you have minor symptoms. But here's the thing everybody is different. It goes back to the argument or like well. This person do. They were one hundred years old. Yeah cancer why. I don't know john. I'm kind of confused. Our grasping at straws..

And we move on the Washington here. It's NBC's Alex Parrish. A joining US and Alex. Good to have you How you doing? I'm doing Well, Mike, how are you? Fine. Thank you. Same to you. All right? The president spoke last night. As we know, Will you not a lot of money, a lot of money to spend 1.8 trillion and Children, families and education. And some say with Well it does it transforms. A lot of ways Sort of who pays for what is what it comes down to eyes. This any of these numbers been run through fact, check Yes. So this $1.8 trillion We're talking about the American families Planet. It focuses on education and child here. Um, it's a part of that is is universal pre K. Also two years of free community college. Uh, this is a plan that that that that spans over over about 10 years. There's also some tax credits for her family's, uh, embedded in that the President Jang That he plans to pay for it by closing some of those 2017 trump tax cuts and also raising taxes on the wealthiest 1% of Americans. But as you mentioned it, a lot of money being spent here, that's part of one or that's just one of a handful. Of trillion dollar plans that the president pitch last night is another one on infrastructure, which is a $2.3 trillion plan that vice President Kamila hairs Well will be leading Immigration is another one. He pitched a gun control as as well. But what was interesting about last night? If I may? Is this, it really struck me of the speech. Um, trying to bring the nation together. He pitched his vision of getting one people. One nation one America, which look, it's a stark contrast for you know, when we saw a lot of the members in that chamber last there Many of them hadn't been back since the January six seed on Capitol Hill on so look going forward the viability of some of these plans. They think that gun control with heads up as a, you know, a high hill decline. Immigration certainly has its challenges. I think the one that that it seems like there's some good movement on right now is probably infrastructure. We know Republicans have pinged a smaller bill. But certainly you know, we we've seen a lot of Ah, lot of a lot of talk on both sides talking about there being something some common ground there. What was the gun control proposal? What were the specifics? I wasn't up that late to be honest. I mean, it's because most of the time when the proposal comes up, it's not something that would address anything that's happened recently. What did the president proposed? So the president's proposing some symptoms and sweeping changes. Whatever comes to background checks, also private cells, but we know that that's been a sticking point for for some Republicans. Um, So I can tell you that there are senators like Pat Toomey and in Chris Murphy, who have already started discussing measures that might grab some Republicans support like increasing certain types of background checks. Um, help passed a gun control measure already. That has little support among Republican senators. Um, but again, I mean, I think that in particular is eyes is going to be hard, no decline. All right. Sadly, all the time we have, but Alex per se appreciate yours, and we'll do it again. Somewhere down the road. Thank you, Mike. Good day. See,.

At 7 48 on just have a Apple stories here about people flying from Canada to Florida to get their vaccine cell from Central America, South America. On around here. We can't get an appointment. Somebody from here might head down there to the alternative Right now. Appointments are very difficult to come by. I've been on a number of the websites today, try and see if there's anything available in the near future. In southern Ohio and nothing that I could find. So the Kroger websites are all putting up that they have no appointments available. There's time won't have more until they know for sure how much more vaccine Can be expected in this area. The local health departments are taking names, but they're just going on a list. You know if there would be a cancelation or whatever. Time come for yours spot to be in line the Let you know, but I think at one point, they said the Hamilton County Health Department had 10,000 names. On their list. And they're getting 500 doses a week right now. What's the first day you can get one tomorrow? Tomorrow? Tomorrow is the first day, but I'd like to set. I mean, there are no appointments available right now for anywhere in southwest Ohio. I mean, there was discussion before that. You would. Yeah. Where you might go. That program might do it somewhere else. Yeah, And then they're not. There are some big testing sites open and of dating is doing one. They're doing one of those Schottenstein Center in Columbus. Where the Health Department's there have decided to try and do bigger event vaccinations. But I mean, the issue still is. They're getting a limited supply of vaccine. So once you know the appointments are gone, they're gone. And they can't really schedule people out two weeks down the road, not knowing how much they're gonna have. So they're just waiting on that word. And then those spots will open up pretty quickly. I would, I would think even know the Kentucky which last week we had talked about I was able to find several appointments that saying these are our health point, But they're not scheduling anybody out now, either, I guess so. They're not sure. Where they're at In that process. Indiana has centralized, very easy to navigate website where you can make your appointments and they do show appointments in Indiana. "They had 99. I said, Well, why not get 100 people? Well, I'm not in charge of that, sir. I said, Well, you know, we're talking about life and death here. I'm not talking about, you know, getting a toenail removed. It's about people dying every day. In America about 5000. It's kind of important. Bill, you know, and the governor the wine, you know, Come on. For nine months. It pops gloom and doom and you've got to do. This virus is gonna get us all And then they put that commercial one with the sad nurse, she said. I've seen them by fear. You need to be asking me, You know, no government wine needs to get this system working so that we can all get vaccinated and protect ourselves and others like he's preached us for the last nine months. What I'm saying is fist. I suggested to him and see what happens is there's a big box retailer and empty mall shopping's of which there are many and do and do a A B. Maybe. M. In another words, have three letters last name in the alphabet, show up and then do that every day. Are 1500. People Get the vaccines out, He said. Bill, we don't have the vaccines. I said, Well, who's got the vaccine? We had to save about a half million vaccines as the backup for the first load, and we're not through the first one. You they're not through 18. There are many individuals and nursing homes right in Ohio today that do not have the vaccine when it's got to be done by today, and it's not done and so we saved half of the vaccines because you had to save that for the second dose. Now they're telling us you can release those vaccines. Which is why we're starting at the age of 80. And by the time 80 75 70 65 are gonna happen. There's gonna be another. I don't know 10,000 Ohioans will be dead. Right? And maybe I'm provincial. But I don't think foreigners Canadians, for example, she can go to Toledo or Cleveland and sign up. I don't know how that but they tell me that's happening. Well, I I don't think anybody's getting vaccinated. I mean, I'm not worried about them. Nobody e mean we have all these doses, everybody says, but they're not getting down to the level where you can get inoculated. Looking to my left The guy that runs five, sir. Has delivered 25 million doses, and he said the rest of this year we will deliver 500 million doses to America under contract. But he says you Americans can't figure out how to how to how to give shots. Right. Well, wait, wait till we have national health care if you think this is bad, you know? Yeah. You can kind of waiting till 10 told government is completely insured. Prime example. Yeah, I can't believe it. Well, believe me right now. Thank you right now. Gary in Ohio. It was those living in healthcare 80 plus that have not gotten the vaccine. And including this 92 year old mother of the woman from Franklin, who called me and so I hear one thing. But then I reality is something different. Continue. Go to marry in Mount Airy course No one's ever gotten the vaccine. So let's find out here, Mary in Mount Airy. Welcome to the Bill Cunningham Show, Mary, Go ahead. This is Marianne. Explain. I spoke to my daughter on Tuesday evening, January the 12 2 days ago, And I told her that this board of health he had a something online that you could sign up for your vaccine. Well, she signed me up. Yesterday morning. This is the next day at 12 12 12 30 in the afternoon. I got a call from the Hamilton County Health Department and they signed me up for the vaccine on Wednesday. January 20th, I could pick my time. That was 11:30 A.m.. And, uh, that would be for the first dose of the vaccine. You may I ask 89 89 you signed up. Yeah, and you've won. You hit the lottery, and the next dose is scheduled for Wednesday, February the tent, and it's going to be at the fourth Park Senior Center and Witton Road. So how handy can that be? From where I am? You're saying what Gary just said is wrong. There are human. Are you like a real live living human being and you're going to get the vaccine. Well, they say I am. But after I'm hearing all this, I'm thinking, Gee, I wonder if they'll be calling me and rescheduling that appointment. Mary, We're sorry. It's gonna it could happen. See government officials, health departments, bureaucrats are busy everyday, allegedly doing other stuff and on top of their job classification was heaped. The responsibility of vaccinating 12 million Ohioans, and they're saying Wait a minute. We're not my call in Florida was similar, like, Well, you know, we're busy every day doing other stuff. Why? So what? This kind of important Well, I'm sorry, sir. That's what I'm sorry, sir. E excuses. Excuses. Well, Mary, why did you call back when you actually get the shot? Are you excited about getting the shot? Well, yes And no, That's kind of a mixed thing. I get the regular flu shot every year. I've gotten it faithfully since it was started, probably about 30 years ago. And even at that time, this is an interesting of outlook on it. I called the board of Health the second year and I said, How long is it safe to keep getting a vaccine for flu? They were flavor guessed that they had never heard that question. And they had no idea. No way hope the message or are in a Is a breakthrough. We hope it works. We hope it causes no harm. All of the experts say it does. When I speak to my doctors, they tell me absolutely. You got to get it. And so I'm going to get it sometime. I guess around the first of February. That's when I'm scheduled. And whatever it is, it is and Mary. Call me back When you actually get it. I would do that. God bless. Thank you for taking my call. Thank you. Let's go to Jim and Mason, the home of the transmitter. Also in the pod for the designated survivor. Which is me, Jim and Mason. Welcome to the Bill Cunningham Show, Jim, Go ahead. Yes, Bill. This is Jim and I played baseball with you on the Bentley Post Legion team back in the sixties was in the days of men were men, and you haven't changed a bit, so let's go back. Yeah, you were. You were precocious. And, uh, fun loving guy back then I think you still are today. Thank you. So you e just got two things. Number one is You've got to remember that the health care workers that you're dealing with both office in medical personnel. They've got the shot already. So when you're getting answers like We can handle this in our normal job Do these days They're sitting there vaccinated and healthy and not have a problem in the world..
