"You know is is is how you're going to vote I. Remember telling people I thought. I told days like really. How are you going to vote Heidi? You might you might be my only vote tomorrow. And then I was like you know what because I'd be your only vote I would have been okay with it right like I might be the only one that voted voted for anybody random. I just would have thrown a name, and just just because because I cared so much about him that I was like you know what this is interesting as a friend. Right like as a real friend. I'm not supposed to put your name on that card. But because I've already given my word to everybody else that I would. Then what do I do what's the right thing to do? What's the right thing to do? And I told him that I said already. I gave my word to. To. So many people you know I i. don't know what to do here. That was very. That was probably the most conflicting vote and I had. My vote wouldn't have mattered young. I'm saying I wouldn't mattered. I already knew he was getting voted off. So why not put any other name down? Except it would've showed all you guys that I could have been a traitor. Who who throughout other? Who did it? You know, so? You're constantly thinking about stuff like that. He can you tell us a little bit about what you have going on on Instagram I? SEE The a ton of workouts for people well these. Amazing. Okay. Thank you. Oh my God hiding so i. Love that your your. Videos are very. Let's see how they're slow. They're very deliberate. All your motions are very deliberate and you can follow him and. I told you this I. was showing my twenty four year old, which is funny? I was thinking. You've worked twenty four. When you play my daughter Elliot's twenty four, but I said Ellie look at these, and I loved that there's so slow and deliberate, and you can really watch your stance your form, okay. I didn't mean to interrupt head to say them out to her. Now that's that's so. That's so sweet, so this goes back. Thank you for. For that by the way this goes back to the health. APP that I'm building the it's called reality. Check because we all need one. We all think we're all sitting here. Trying to be something not. We're all sitting here like Ranna Wish I looked twenty years younger. Whatever the thing is, and then we look up all these instagram or facebook people and they've all got filters slapped on them, and they've all got I. Don't know swimming filter is. Is, it takes pounds off your body I don't know. Use It so I'm just sitting here like people need something real, and I'm not saying it I'm saying this APP. Is this APP is real? It's okay, so if we're going to sell this is how to do workouts with somebody cancer. The people we have are really have cancer. The people we have really have high cholesterol We've got a couple of girls that that aren't going. Going to make it much longer because they have stage for we we have the real deal is my point. That's the reality check. We're not all trying to look like a eighteen to twenty four year old on instagram. Maybe we are but if but you actually should try to be the best version of yourself, so that's why we came up with reality. Check so that's what these workouts are. You are right. They are very deliberate because. Again I have a I have. A degree in exercise is nets the exact science behind working out? There is an exact science to losing weight. It's it's not complicated. People think it is, but it's not so. It's these very specific moves in a very specific way, and actually the most not me, but some of the most shredded bodybuilders will tell you the same thing. It's actually you think Oh. I'm just making up something. A squad pulls four times well. How long you hold the pulse why four times? There's actually an exact science behind it, so it's this whole thing that if you really know it, you can comprehend it. You can make up very effective workouts for people. So that's what I love about. It is getting all the feedback from people like I've already lost. Twenty pounds already lost thirty pounds. Hide thing. You. Back on survivor Heidi. Not Me but the people that follow the people are saying. They'll say hey already lost thirty pounds. Just following you. Thank you for showing me workouts. Because like set during your home and I can really do them. These are supposed to be complicated I. Mean I can really do these and all laugh at myself all the time. Hey, guys tried this workout. It went awful. But they really are supposed to be things you can really do. You can really try. They're not supposed to be boring I try to mix it up, but there's a very specific science behind it. And that's really it and what what you eat, of course, what you eat is almost eighty percent of the battle so but yeah I I love doing it. It's free, right? It's free from my instagram. Creates a check that out, so Heidi tells sure instagram name. Sorry, yes, he I'm off with this Heidi underscore hamels. Hamels has won him. And Yep and they're on there and. And I really. If you actually not, you guys fit whoever's listening if you go on there, I actually do respond just about every single person because I don't sleep. I'll stay up till four. Even responding to people be like. Tell me what I should eat tomorrow and I come up with a whole plug again for free, but I come up with a whole plan for them, and this is how you do.

"Being around actually amazing people getting little insights into their real life, not as playing a game like Oh. Wow, I didn't know that that's what was going on with you. Thanks, thank you for sharing that with me. That's pretty special and I'm getting to see why you really got picked for the show and you're. You're allowing me to see that right now. So I think those are all the little moments. I kinda hang onto. Yeah, the most fun was like the first half of the merge basically like from when we merged until when Dina got voted out that that works like probably like probably probably i. Nine days basically like through Roger through Dave, and then ultimately by the time that Dina got voted out and you know I I remember the day like it all. It was that Alex and Geno we're off on her award. And you and I were with Dina and Christie. Andina started talking about how hey? Like I think we gotta make the move on Alex, and like this is not. This is not going to go great. This is not gonna go great, and then you. And I could I could see the whole thing was unraveling at that point. Yes, I would completely agree with you and you are right. Those were some of the stays in in in all those days I would I would take that. It wasn't a food challenge I. Think Food was just actually given to us like that picnic. That was made murder. Okay then yeah, that would have been my favorite moment. Just probably one I was being fed ya the two. It was again. It was a break from the game. It was just a break where you're like. Okay. Nobody's trying to strategize right now. We're just trying to eat. Right so I agree that that was my favorite. That was actually my favorite part, but I would agree with you. I didn't think about zoning out Alex Hill. Nina said it, and you could see their their. That was one of the massive plays of that game. That was a massive massive move of that Game Yeah Yup. It was a big deal t-bird. That one that one kind of set the tone I think actually for a lot of the rest and little. Dina Nell that, she would be you wish she next or was it was? It was an overreach on Dina's part because then once that really turn the tide where Deena wooden I've got voted out next, but then you started talking to Jenna and then Alex was like Hey That's it. We gotTA. DNA like Oh. Boy, this is really complicated. Yup, it was complicated because I was like. Wow, if if we were supposed to be the group. Turn on the group this early We gotta get her out yeah yeah, but then had you seen it? Like you said, unravel from there, you know. I think it would have been a little more calculated, but regardless she would have wanted Alex out. One way or the other was it was? It's what shifted. It's shifted. Everything was was Dina saying something and not not that she shouldn't have that that was definitely shift. Yeah, I think that you know. What I thought was an incredible player. Also I think she should have done was i. think had some sort of like one on ones about that instead of pitching. That's one of the things about survivor. Where you have. You have a big idea for something. That's really radical like. Don't pitch it in a group. I think that you wanted sort of like. Have those like one on one suggestions where? I if Dina says to you one on one, what do you think about voting at Alex? You can say like I. Don't know that's kind of crazy, but in a group it's harder to sort of push back. Bad idea it's it's funny. You say that so before because I knew I was getting voted out, but before I got voted out I told butch in Christie's. Next, yeah, I said I did I went to them individually, and I said I just need you know you guys are next you're. They didn't believe me. They did not believe me and they both after the show were like I. I like I would have given anything to to. Like I should have believed you. My point was okay well. I know you to our next. So why don't you guys vote with me? You guys are going to get voted out. You're going to get voted out as soon as I'm voted out. That's what's going to happen. They were so convinced. Jinnah was going to be next right and then, and then I said Okay and then what then it's going to be between Matt Rob Christine Butch then what? You know. What would your master plan after that they didn't have one. It really just didn't have one. So that's where I couldn't wrap my mind around. That is like hey, just come over with me and Gina won't get rid of everybody else. which was really just you and Matt? And then and then right then there. Heidi, then what nicer because and I and I would help. I would held onto genetic. I think what have I. Haven't asked her, but I said I I swear I'll I'll actually ask if you hold onto all that I will vote. However, you guys need me to vote. Because you believed in me enough. Yes, and I will gladly give him even even if my vote was Jenner, even if my vote was generally and I told you in the same thing. Hey, even if they everybody decides, it's meat and you guys to make it me will. You did a really great job in that. In the vote ultimately, we're Christie is going to get voted out where that you a? You really did a good job of giving her a lot to think out where that my my pitch to her was after we voted on, Alex was okay. We'll put out Genevan Heidi, and then, and then we'll go to the final four, and you were really pushing but Christie come with us. You go to the final three. and. She was she was like well crazy. She went back and forth. But but you need to get past. It would have been a three three tie. And so potentially we go to some sort of tiebreaker, which is like drawing the rocks and I. Don't know if she necessarily wanted to do that. And I think it was also important too Kristie I think she wanted to be. The last woman left at. That was like an important thing for her, and we were supposed to say hey, come with us. It's final four. You don't know what's going to happen. You'd be the last woman standing they were you know. You could say that you were you got past. Jen and Heidi and but you guys. You were making a very compelling offer to her and I think you really were in her head to the point where? She really was going back and forth. You couldn't make up her mind what she wanted to do. Well because I kept you're right, but you're very compelling I would because it was because it was real honest because I, said come with Jinnai, and she did say that you're right now three on three hundred. If you come with US get, I'll get your Matt. I'll get him to sway. And she was like I and I said all you have to do is go with me. Say Your Matt. I need your vote. They will they will I really think.

How are you guys doing with everything that's going on? I know that the Major League Baseball is still waiting to strike up a deal in terms of like what. Everybody doing okay by you. I it is interesting because. Robots. Not, a huge sports fan, but I mean per. Se but I did love baseball before this. So I'm just GonNa talk from a Fan. Point of view has nothing to do with who are married to, but an and I think most people would say this is true about their favorite sport is that it's? It's kind of a shame. That baseball isn't going right now. Because I think people would find a new love for it and new, passion for it I. Think in this is just my. My own opinion, I think I think MLB is missing out on a huge opportunity. They get millions of more fans onto tune into baseball and the players, and and it's it's. It's actually ashamed. All of this is happening so on on on a lot of levels one. We make no income so so you've got to consider that you know for not just us. I mean all these minor league guys that. Are Barely making it. I think I think they make around eight hundred dollars a month. So, you've got all all those issues some of the owners not wanting to play for reasons. I won't get into here. I'll try not to go very political here, but It is, it is interesting I. Just I hate it from like I, said just baseball. It's it's. It's a real shame to not see this happen, so I hope they come to something soon. I know personally. Coal is going crazy. This is you know in pro athletes life in their mind. This is their whole life. They don't know how to be anything or do anything else this. This is everything to them, so they live in breathe whatever that sport is so this this can really rock your world, and then I own four other companies that are massively impacted by Cova. Sure yeah, so it's kind of it's. It's hit US pretty hard. One of the companies I have is a entertainment company for singers, but you know they can't go on the road so they. They can't even perform probably until April twenty, twenty one from a foundation nonprofit point of view. I can't even tell you how many how many schools and people need our help right now. Because that's the only way most of those kids were getting fed. They were going to school. So we have tried to step in a lottery leaf on feeding them a lot of relief, and there's only so much we can do so it's it's been very like I. Hate to say you know I like bleed red, white and blue. It's been heartbreaking for me to see this happen to America and at the same time. With the middle of a black lives, matter I have a I have an African Child in the middle of all that they're still been a lot of really good. A lot of people that have surfaced and I love seeing that you love seen people, rally and You know try to make something great out of something pretty awful. Heidi I know that had signed with the Atlanta braves in the off season, even though the braves have started to play outside spring tiny, but that is t birds favorite team. That's awesome. Well. They're an awesome awesome organization. I've always loved them hiding. Truth things in common one thing we have in common is we were both voted out. A Custom Phrase to Remember the Wi-Fi Password
"Last week I was talking about routines and I was getting some suggestions of how you can create routines what you can use them for. And I really wanted to hear from you from the committee, but how you're using routines by the way if you want the tutorial and how to set up for teens, just go to al x eight candidate dot ca slash routines, so here's the one I want to tell you about very very cool. I got a tweet from an I'm sorry I'm going to pronounce your name wrong into the best I can I got a tweet from Corinthian van Hamel. and. He said that he uses his routine to remember his WIFI password. This is brilliant because he'll read a read the tweet that he wrote him, he said Lexi. What's the WIFI PASSWORD? If you separate each character with a comma and have repeat it again to conclude then your house. Guests will never have to wonder what the Wifi Password is what he's doing is he's using the custom phrase. Command in the routine. This is what it was talking about last week. If you heard the flash briefing, so what he's done is he's set up flash briefing specifically to remember his Wifi. Password and he set up the trigger for that routine to be that question. What's the WIFI PASSWORD? And then we asked that question he's set it up. The LEXI will give him a customer sponsor of his Wifi. Password and this is brilliant, because this didn't require any skill to be setup it didn't. Didn't require him to ask. Lexi for a reminder is just simply using the function to get the response and essentially as acting like a first party skill, because you don't have to open, any skill is just a first party. Sorry Command, because you just ask a question and Lexi gives it to you, so that's really really cool. I love that and boy that that's a lot of food for thought for me because I can think of so many other ways that we can use
Using Nature and Animals to Manage Anxiety
"Richard. It's great to have you. A lot has been talked about the connection between mental health and nature mental health and animals. And I kind of want to start off in this place. I'm a big fan of social media loved or hated. It's probably here to stay and one of the things that I often see on social. Media's this meam that says the best antidepressant is a walk in nature and I know that you don't feel that nature replaces medical science. But you do feel that a walk in nature has real real support and real help for people who are suffering from depression. Can you talk about that for a moment? And that's new. When I wrote last child in the Woods College in two thousand five. This was ignored the impact of the natural world on human wellbeing on on health on cognitive functioning all of that pitted been in basically ignored and I could find maybe sixty studies because many of them were about the growing disconnect between children and they're for adults to and nature and some of the some of those studies dealt with the benefits and some of those studies with mental health and physical health. That is a drop in the bucket. Compared to how much money is spent researching just about everything else and it struck me that something. So large as the impact of the natural world experience on human health and wellbeing have been ignored. How could that be and as I looked into it? I was working with some neuro scientists. Them they were studying brain architecture development and young children and they were looking at all kinds of things and how that affected brain architecture development everything from parent child attachment to add daycare too dangerous neighborhoods in all of that and those things they were. Aim literally shapes the brain. You Early Childhood and I asked them on. Have you ever thought about how the natural world helped shape the brain young children experiences actual contact with the natural world? And they look at you with a blank face and they said what's nature and I understand that that science has difficult time defining nature. But you know I said to the neuroscientist. This isn't rocket science or and it isn't brain surgery. Come up with a hypothesis and tested hundred. Twenty trees pray or whatever. They still had trouble so I decided that was one of the reasons why this was so under. Studied is the blind spot in science about nature the rest of nature which we are part the second reason. Where does the research money come from? What till can you manufacturer? What thing can you commercialize out of that? Now there are some things I mean parks and outdoor hiking organizations things like that. There are some but for the most part people don't think about cert- certainly funders. Don't think about this as something that they can get something out of by funding. That's changing today. If you go to the chill nature network which you mentioned your introduction. We have a research library here that we built and it is for anybody in the world is free. And there are now probably. It's just tipped over one thousand studies. We have abstracts for him links to the original studies when they're available so it's gone from about sixty two over a thousand in about fourteen years after not existing before. I think that it's interesting. That one of the things you said and this really plays to the pessimist in me is. We don't want to tell people to go for walks because there's no funding for it and you can't make money it you know. We can't prescribe one. Walk a day or hug your dog every day that that's not something that you can fill at the pharmacy and this is kind of cancer. Balanced against the medication is important. Look at the advances that we've made with cancer by coming up with better treatments etc but I would even argue that taking somebody who is suffering from cancer and completely isolating them taking away their friends their support systems their animals and even a window would put them in more of a bad way than they already are. And I think that's what you're saying and you've talked about in your work. How animal assisted therapy is becoming one of the biggest healthcare trends and I don't think that's a bad thing but you also talk about the controversy surrounding it and then you back it up with science. Can you talk about animal? Assisted therapy for a moment. Because I I just find it absolutely fascinating. That people wouldn't respond to this favorably but I also understand that this is our culture. Everything is good and everything is bad seemingly at the same time I think it's more nuance than that. I think that most people understand that their dog helps them. You know most people get get it at this level and in terms of organized animals therapy whether it's dogs or or wine therapy with horses or going outside and connecting with wild animals. No matter what that is people necessarily understand that it's the science is coming now and the science is really interesting though that some of it is controversial but nobody. His watched a kid with disabilities in an equine therapy. A Horse therapy course assisted therapy. Setting cannot be not moved. It's very moving to watch this. One person who works in this field told me that her mother was bringing her child who is autistic to animal assisted therapy sessions which involved horses and he would ride horses with a helmet and somebody would lead the horse and he was. I think about nine years old and he had not talked ever and one day when they didn't go when they were supposed to to the horse. Therapy Her son walked into the living room and said there were horse. First Time she had heard him say a word so there are moving stories like that I talk about a woman another woman who is on the autism spectrum and she tells quite a moving story about not only how her service whose name is Cobo has her but how she has learned to help Cobo using some of the same techniques to Kobo. Us to help her so often. What is occurring is a kind of mutual. Azam is not one way. I don't want it to be seen as just what we get out of our relationship with other animals my promote something in the book called the reciprocity principle which basically holds it for every bit a healing that they give us hamels whether they are domestic or wild animals. Give us we need to give back to them. The same we need to protect them as they protect us.

"Inside hamels and seem to want to be under the luxury tax. So that kind of liquefied the idea that they wouldn't be an offer. But the dodgers are in similar positions. I think both are excellent teams on paper. I think best team still in the National League. And I think they both in a position where they want to set themselves up to do something big hanging at this point. I thought it might be the dodgers. I this point. I think it might be more likely. It would be the cubs. That would look at Harper. The Dutch Joel referenced are still looking at other pieces, including real Budo. You know, I'm not sure how likely it is that Cleveland would trade kluber. But. Reports that it's it's possible. I think they're both in in similar positions in terms of setting themselves on the dodgers have already done that to a degree with that, reg trade. I think the cubs are still looking to do that. If we see that they've traded Hayward or made some room some other way than we're gonna say, we'll really look at it seriously and say, wow, they might be in for opera. But at this point. Maybe yada, yada. Radio. They trade Harper. Then it could mean something. Then we might have something. Baloney. You can't trade. He worked. Right. You can't. But I'm looking Phil Rogers today has a whole thing said that there are two ways the cubs can manage their payroll to become Harper, Bryce Harper friendly. Go one of them is paid out Hayward's contract enough to find a team that would deal for them, basically pay some of the money. The other one is which I thought was interesting. He he basically said that may be the cubs could just go into take the tax hit in two thousand nineteen but then paranoid payroll to get back under the two hundred eight million dollar threshold twenty twenty that's true. You collect Cole hamels and Ben zobrist leave free agents, and you can also let more stroll shack. Million right there. Yeah. Thirty two and twenty seven million. Yes, it's sixty million. So she can. So you can do that take the tax hit for one year because you're gonna have race Harper for live longer. Well, he's right. Yeah. So then who pitches so hamels gone, right? You got four is. It is always end by Gumri. You can always throw him back out the right now. Montgomery's your bullpen. Just explain why you can't trade Jason Heyward, his knees. No good. It's hard to it's hard to move a guy that can only play defense for one hundred.

"I don't I'm not concerned about him. Only throwing you know, two hundred combined innings over the last two seasons after three. Throwing two hundred every season before that. I'm more concerned about his actual performance in those two hundred innings because you know, if you give him one hundred eighty innings next year, what kind of quality are those one hundred eighty innings going to be. Yeah, I agree. Well, his preferred certainly have fallen off. And after I think it was six consecutive seasons of two hundred or more. He has been in one hundreds the past couple years because of that injury in part. So he doesn't quite come with the durable. Were course, who's guaranteed to give you two hundred label anymore in as tech mentioned the efficiency within those innings has tailed off to ease. Less stuff. Doesn't throw quite as hard as you Stu, obviously he is seen as the ultimate gamer and clutch playoff guy. And the question is do you bet on that being a predictive quality? If you are a team that expects to be in the playoffs or you're going to pay more for Bumgarner because of his playoff record or you're going to trust that he can duplicate that in your uniform. I don't know, but. The other really interesting aspect of this to me is far Huns eighty and can he come in with have the courage? I guess are the boldness to come in. And immediately dismantle the remnants of the championship giants teams because you're in a tough spot where the giants probably should rebuild as much as any team. Should they probably should turn the page on those teams? But that's always a tough thing to do in for a new executive to come in and say, not only are you going to be bad now. But you are not even gonna get to watch the guys who remind you of when you work that is a tough thing to to come in before your team is even played a game in and start tearing it down, even if it's one of those things where you know, if you're selling to a fan base. I think most giants would would agree with that assessment of the team that it's time to start taking this team apart. You know, this is sort of what not to bring everything back to the Phillies. But this is what what they did in twenty thirteen fourteen. They never trade. A cliff? They waited years and years to trade Rollins not lead. They never traded. Ryan howard. They took until twenty fifty to trade to trade Cole hamels, and those were those were tough things to to swallow a fan, even if you know that it's that it's good for the team the long term. But you know, I think this this honestly might be one of the vantage of bringing for Hans ID's. He's going to be he has no connection to those teams. He's going to be completely on sentimental about it. So he's, you know, got no reason to to hang onto. Brandon Crawford or Bumgarner. I think the I think you're going to be okay. As as, you know, in terms of not having unrest in the in the streets, San Francisco as long as you don't trade BUSTER Posey. But this it's interesting because like Goldschmidt Goldschmidt is the I would say the best position player. Maybe the best player overall in Diamondbacks history, and Bumgarner has had so many iconic even before twenty fourteen has had so many moments in that giants uniform it's hard to imagine playing anywhere else. Here's a here's a stat to supplement. What I was saying for or so fan graphs tracks with a call pitch values where they basically look at how effective each pitches, and categorize them by type so from twenty thirteen to twenty sixteen one Bumgarner was at his best. He had over those for years the third best fastball. Among all starting pitchers numbers one and two or Kershaw. Scherzer's. So that fits he is one of the best fastballs in baseball over the last two seasons. His fastball has accrued. D- below average results each season..

"Like i said he's used a pigeon in big games he's won a championship he's been in a couple of world series all at i think i think he'd be a perfect guy for the yankees so i really don't one point three era after he comes over to say that good but i think he'll be he'll be good nine you'll be good i'm kidding around he's approach to me cole hamels is a pro and you get him out of a losing situation into winning situation like that i think he'd be terrific i know do it now the head of them in the laws really their game up in the bottom line and we know the bottom line here what's one of these teams is going to be in a wildcard yeah that's that's that's a given and if you're the yankees you don't want to be that team really comes down to that that's why it's a great race it's not great if you're a yankee fan sitting there on october third getting ready to play the mariners and a one game you know god knows what happens paxton comes in right tweet shutout boy it's the beauty of the race but i think because of where they are even though it is a competitive or american league i think you've got time to throw hormone out there a bunch more times and see what this kid has because what he has shown you not only out of the bullpen but certainly in the first starting made is that he's got great stuff in great potential and with young players even though we may not be used to this with the yankees because everybody comes up and his amazing but young play struggle sometimes sometimes they do look severino had some rough moments copy so luli which funny about severino is he came up and was great then the following year was all and then he put it all together last year now into this year where he certainly a bona fide ace in the american league so i think they're in a position where they can be patient with her mom because i would be and part of why i'd be patient is i really don't have other options of justice sheffield was.
