"hall famers" Discussed on The Rich Eisen Show

"A two time NBA champion. You're not going to disappointed? I mean, look, bro, some of the greatest players of all time have never like Charles Barkley is no worse than my third favorite player ever, never got a chip. Allen Iverson, no worse than my fourth player ever, never got a chip. Karl Malone, John Stockton. You can go down the list of guys who've never won championships, right? Yeah. And we put them in this list. You never want to chip. Well, now we've got a guy who's won two and two finals MVPs. It's like, what are we talking about? No, but I'm saying there was the expectation that he had this two things. He got his resume built to a point where, yes, you are now up there with the all time greats. And we were thinking, oh my God, he's going to go to Brooklyn. Team with Kyrie Irving and they're going to put this team around him and they're going to win one, two, three more before his career's off. You never thought he was going to win at least one more. Maybe one, but I never thought they were going to turn into it some type of dynasty. A lot of people did though. But now they're going to get zero most likely. There's something that doesn't change the way you think about him at all? How is that going to take away anything? It's not taking away. So then how could it change my thought? If I'm already bro, you've already done all this. Now everything else is just extra. You are already on the top 75. You're already a champion. You already I believe scoring time. You've won MVP. You've done it all. It had he never won, then yet we could have this conversation that it might make change differently. But you were the best player on the best squads. But twice. But playing devil's advocate, it will always be a discussion if Kevin Durant never wins. Good point. If he never wins one more championship, it will be always be a talking point in the media is Kevin Durant for sure one of the greatest players of all time. To me, his top 20 absolutely. But there's still something slightly missing if he can't win a championship without joining three hall Famers in their prime. He joined three Hall of Famers in their prime, he is the guy that took them over the top. He was the best player in that team, but it wasn't his team. And without winning a championship where it's absolutely his team, there's still something slightly missing and something that people will always talk trash to him on Twitter about. People always have in the back of their mind. Nobody's disputing that he's a Hall of Fame players. Absolutely a Hall of Fame player, one of the best players ever. But there's still something slightly amazing. First of all, and that's kind of trash on Twitter would be the absolute least of my concerns when I'm ranking. He was literally doing it yesterday. It's hilarious. I find Kevin coming to her really funny. And that's why I wanted to just kind of bring up this thing and you guys both brought up both sides of the argument and that's why I kind of wanted to have the discussion because it's going to be had forever. We're not taking it to me. We're not taking I'm not certain I'm not taking away, but you'll never be able to take it away from him. But if you're just like, man, I wish he could have got we should have done it. I really thought he was going to do this. I really thought he was going to do X that's the interesting thing. So when Durant was on their team, he was better than courage. He was the better player for sure. But if he never wins another championship, I believe that curry will have a better career if that makes sense. Well, curry's got four. I mean I first got four in two MVPs, but he's one where it was his team and he was the number it was his team and he didn't have to go somewhere. Do you think curry, we love, I mean, TJ, we love lists. Do you think curry's ahead of Durant on the all time list right now as we sit today? Yeah. Even though he wasn't a better player when they were together. Yeah. Because of the four. I mean, that matters. And the fact that, you know, you're giving Steph Curry credit for changing the way the game of basketball has played even though. He and Kevin Durant sat there and had to shoot out. I'm not entirely convinced I'm gonna put all my money on staff and you know, I don't know. I mean, we all say he's the greatest shooter of all time. But that Kevin Durant is a monster. So I don't know. And Seth winning last year were essentially the second best player in the finals was Andrew Wiggins that took him up another notch to me. It's amazing what that did for Steph's legacy. That title last year. Yeah. It's tough for Kevin Durant's. It's a weird situation he's in where everybody considers him a great player, but there's still something missing even though there's championships. It's crazy. Yeah, he's one of the most interesting, I think, just characters in this whole NBA play that we enjoy night and night out year in year out. He's fascinating to me. And I think we're going to we'll debate his legacy until he's done playing. For sure. And then another 20 years after he's done playing. It's really interesting. I just say this, right? Just now hit me. To put it to bed. We're telling and I used to do this with pro wrestlers when they would come in. I'm going to tell you this. Aliens are coming to tack the earth. Of course. And you've got to start it. You've got to do both. You've got to put together a team currently right now. Right now to save earth. Is Kevin Durant on that team? Absolutely. Top 5, yeah. Yeah. Is he starting? Yeah. What's our team look like? Are we doing top 5 by position? Are we just doing? I got to get 5, so Jupiter doesn't blow us up. 5. If I gotta get 5 right now. No position? No position. Well, you got Joker, Giannis, KD, Steph. So we're just going big, Tatum. What about Luca? Luca.

Why Christian Walker Denounced His Father

"This was very difficult for me and I know my wife is going to be mad that I'm talking about this to a certain degree, but I'm not going to go all full crazy with it. Herschel Walker, let me just start with what I think about Herschel Walker. And then we'll talk about the controversy of how his son came out against him. And I know Christian walker. I mean, I know of him. My wife knows him pretty good. She was messaging him yesterday and accidentally, hey, are you okay? What's going on? With the things that he said on social media about Herschel Walker and then there's a rumor that her walker forced a woman to have an abortion now. I want to give you a warning. If you are sensitive, you might not want to listen to what I have to say because I'm not going to hold back on what I actually feel about these whole allegations situations. However, let me start with what I feel about Herschel Walker. When I met her walker, and then also I've seen him on plenty platforms, I follow him on social media, I don't know him, right? He's not my daddy. I have a great father. He's not my dad. I don't know the man that well. However, the way he comes across, it seems to be very genuine. He seems like a genuine, good hearted Christian individual. Now, some of these allegations about Herschel Walker is from his past. Now, for those who don't know, Herschel Walker was an NFL football player, I don't know if he's been inducted in Hall of Fame, but from my stance and how I know him to be such an electrifying football player, I would argue that he's a Hall of Famer. And Herschel Walker played football, obviously he had his kids. There's rumors that he have multiple kids by multiple women. And he didn't raise none of them. It's from what his son, Christian has said on his social media. However, I don't see her she walk up in that way, but I do understand it. I don't know that man. Now, let me get into some more of these allegations. This is what bothers me about what Christian walker did and this is what bothers me in general about how people always bring up another person's past. There's always two sides to the coin.

"An old commercial from the army that the army used to run back when you and I were in our 30s. I unit of one. And for some reason, they stopped doing those commercials, but interviewing these 90 folks from Georgia, I have a lawyer from Georgia. I have an NBA retired Hall of Famer from Orlando. Teachers from Cincinnati. They're all over the place. But the way everybody close their statement was, we were a unit on that day as Americans as one. Everybody came together. I call it the pinch of salt. When you and I were a little boy, our parents made me would say, hey, I got to run over to the Jones houses and get a little sugar. Or I got to go over and we don't have that too much anymore. Everybody's kind of on their own, but on that day on 9 11, all my neighbors were in the cul de sac that day. It was almost like a barbecue for no other reason, but just to share and console each other. And neighbors and I hadn't spoken to that live way down on the other end and he just waved through on the way to work. Well, they were there. And we were all talking together. How are you doing? Do you need help? And that's what everybody's story was about. Friends became real friends. Next door neighbors became real next to our neighbors. And there was a woman in there that she didn't know anybody when she was inside the Sears tower, but when she was evacuated down to the bottom of the dock area, everybody in the loading dock area that day were her best friend. NBA Great Bill Russell Was Racist Till the End

"Bill Russell, the former NBA Hall of Famer. Now look, I imagine there are some people who are very sad to hear the news that the Boston Celtic great Bill Russell died on Sunday. Not me. Not me. I never liked the guy. And I had it on good authority and I have it on good authority that he was a racist until the end. I know what you're thinking. No, AJ, he was the one at the butt end of races. Okay, yeah, he was, but he did it right back to white people. Now aside from the rumors I heard from old sports Fridays that I used to work alongside of it newsday, which is Long Island's main newspaper and when I worked there, it was the fourth largest circulation of any newspaper in America, so it's no rinky dink paper. Major, major sports writers wrote there. I sat next to and talked to and sat around with some of the best sports writers of our time. And a couple of them told me some stories about Bill Russell that, you know, didn't paint them out to be a nice guy. Okay? They would tell me stories that said as much of what I'm telling you that he was in fact very racist.

"You head. Dirk nowitzki l. you. Hey kobe starting to be kobe. You have at ad now. Paul pierce is somewhere in there and you get an eighteen year. Old kid comes into the nba. Everybody's hyping him. Yup you got a twenty six year old jealous of at eighteen year old. Because everybody's hyper again. If you think about this you you keep saying when two thousand eight here. It was paul. Pierce kevin garnett ray allen regime rondo and i got hurt going against lebron james dante with ben was in year twelve while sergei yet and ilgauskas. That's well you told me you tell me. Every day that lebron careful greatest ever okay. D. kennedy had aim opportunity. Kate him okay. Okay so you keep saying the series. That paul pierce one in two thousand eight in two thousand and ten lebron james every twenty seven eight and seven. Paul pierce averaged seventeen. Five and four. Now was he got. He got chris bosh. He got with the way. Lebron was three theories thirty one. Eight and four. Paul pierce was five five into wait a second. I pointed out what happened in game. Seven of two thousand eight. Help me out three. Ucla who outplayed whom in doing the money got pushed to the middle of title of ood. Outplay do i'm not doing. I'm knitting backs. We few individual game game. It's game seven. Also lebron gave salvageable only okay. Would that was his game. Bron game game six or two thousand twelve since we go pick individual games this head to had to have in two thousand twelve. Yeah he gives the celtics. Yeah but we're talking about. When when he was in his prime he was out of his prime by that point out of it when he had thirty he was pretty well washed. I did you know at nine guy. Just said he didn't take care of himself. Vote okay saliva. So how do you explain what happened in twenty ten win. Lebron had one of his greatest games. I thought it was his greatest. And they're up two games to one. And then lebron over three games lose he averages only twenty one points with six turnovers again six turnovers he had nine hundred thousand total turnovers. Three games helped me out you. How do you explain it. How do you defend. You can't because what they had was defensive player of the year and kevin garnett had big perk and they did a great job of wallie him off so paul. Pierce always had helped you. But what happened. Will lebron got. That was equal. Paul pierce help. How many times did they win the series. Because he what you do is that you always say lebron was the best player. He should overcome all obstacles but to never say that about law. Michael you never said that about that. They should overcome all obstacles. No matter the circumstances but only lebron supposed to do that. Okay i give you that. Ultimately lebron was much. Better than paul pierce. I give you that. But the point was paul. Pierce was a very credible rival from eight to two thousand ten. When the money was on the table. It was paul. Your head the betaine okay. But he was the truth. He was the best player on his. Get mosquito so if if not i hall of famer sure is going to be a first bell hall of fame. I think you would be a bailed hall of famer in basket. But i'm saying so which one of those guys so know. Dhillon with gas wallace finally went to the hall of fame. He one of those guys is going to the hall of fame. Okay he got three guys in their starting lineup. Rondo probably going to be a hall of famer mo williams on that team to help. He's good he was an all star. Introduce get i'm just case hollow wasn't blake griffin and all star was the de'andre joined the all-star okay. You want to take all stars. Even though he was many many years ago. You say what you do skip. Paul pierce has never been a rival the hammer rivals skill. Are you kidding the hammer. He owned him through two thousand ten owned him. No no just flat out only made him quit. According to dan gilbert made him to dan owners to wrote he quit dan. Gilbert is jilted lover. You know what happens when people break up. They say you were terrible. You can do this. You couldn't do that. They they never said we were together and everything was going. Great things. don't go right. You say all these negative things because you try to paint a negative light but guess what even though dan gilbert fan all dead who got their ads it like a tonight down the fort lauderdale to have a meeting with rich. Paul lebron james. Tell the people at home who did that ilgauskas. Yoke was he was ilgauskas giver. But he'll gossip is on the flight us. You ask scion. Why would you talk about a guy that quit my god. That was the proof. clay grail. Why would you do that that may acquittal your ball club well. He's still believes that he. You see what you're saying. You say things when you hurt okay. I'm just telling you. He was a very credible rival because he beat lebron when it matters the most in two thousand eight and two thousand ten in the point was that he never let it go. he never sold out two lebron way. Everybody does because he's facing we've never buddied up. He never got close. He never befriended lebron and i respected that. He did not believe that man was the truth. He believed that under fire under the greatest pressure game. Seven of two thousand eight. He would come apart. That's what paul pierce always believed. We love to say that he came apart when you got the better team. What happened when lebron had a comparable team. Why didn't he come apart there. Why couldn't paul pierce oldest feet to the fire. You remember when. Paul pierce went to the brooklyn. Nets lebron james. Yeah i got it. He's not there. He dropped forty nine on his head. He broke the lebron james taylor. He'll ono because he broke them up in boston. What did they do. Feel kevin gardner. Paul pierce went to brooklyn they digital joe johnson and william. He brought them up. Cagey ended up going back to minnesota. Paul pierce bounced around like a shell of himself by that point because he did not stare you say well what did you tell me. Lebron didn't game six against those mighty pissing all those hall. Famers and chance boston celtics win god kevin because they they could pretty that game six at detroit two thousand thank you and then what happened in two thousand eight game seven. Paul pierce happen all the salad. That's what no no no. No you for skip skipping some details. What happened summer. What happened in the summer. What happens in two thousand and eight are either what happened. They win and bet. Oh i thought you meant tony parker. Mary belong sweat. Lebron lebron and the finals he got married. He went to paris in got mary. That's what happened. Got swept in the finals after he just the greatest power forward. I bound hall of fame. Tony parker so don't do this skip. So you guy you got to win one game with future. Did you never did that with michael. You always heater. Joe byrd said he was the don't he was guarding sneakers. That's what you do. I'll i'm asking you the whole kevin durant home michael jordan to the same standard. That all i'm asking you is to come to grips with the part that my point about paul pierce is i respect him because he never fell in love with lebron james he always kept an arm's length and it got to t the where he he didn't. It's like all you want to do is talk about lebron. Yeah that's what we do. I love to talk about lebron because he is the most interesting man in sports. Skew is the drama king. It's something every night with lebron. But paul does belong in tv talking about basketball. Because if you're gonna talk about basketball.

Derek Jeter Is Intrinsic to the Story of Baseball

"Era, baseball is a story, beginning to end. You can not tell the story of a baseball that Derek Jeter's extremely meaningful contributions. He owns signature moment after a signature moment. If you're not a fan of the Yankees, I understand why you wouldn't want to watch them again. I don't want to watch David Ortiz's home runs, but Derek Jeter is intrinsic to the fabric of the game from 1995 to roughly 2012. He deserves to be celebrated. He would be and I'm gonna go one, I'm gonna go one more here. People say Jeter wouldn't be celebrating the same manner if he played in Kansas City or Milwaukee. I'm gonna go another level and say he would be much more celebrated if he'd played against the city or Milwaukee and was just as great. Do you see what they say about George Brett? He is the leader of an entire generation of fans for the entire Midwest. People think George Bret is unimpeachably a God. If they're generated play one of these small cities and won one to two World Series surrounded by good teams in these tinier baseball towns, he would be he would be the first 101 percenter Hall of Famer. He suffers from being a Yankee because people have Yankee fatigue. That's my hottest take it and I'm putting that on you. Do you agree or disagree? I agree with CCC Matthew played a half season with the brewers and he's still a legend there. Like he's gonna get a statue. Yeah. Derek Jeter, I mean, it's hilarious because now all of a sudden when people have whole definitive Hall of Fame cases and it's someone you don't like. Then we're gonna dive into the contrarian statistics. And we're gonna look at advanced defensive stats and how they weren't that great. And why that should knock him down a peg as one of the all time greats. I and that's the same people who will argue that that, you know, if you don't have enough championships, why do you deserve to be in the hall fame? It's just every argument is to satisfy the

So what's the secret to perseverance. Belief and dana confidence. I think it's partially a little bit of craziness. I think that there's probably a little bit of insanity in there where you go through some situations where people would say. Maybe now's a good time to stop and you say now. I don't think it is whether it was some of the injuries. I've gone through with my back the broken leg or transferring schools in college. Whatever it is. There's always been some people that said this the right decision is this the right thing to do and for some reason or another way. My parents raised me. When i was a kid. The answer has always been absolutely a threat thing to do.

"A funny, feisty show. Yeah. 332377 16 to wrestle, Get this thing over with. I never heard him either. Talk about The whole thing about the air. We're gonna add to each other about the Aaron Rodgers thing. And you know the last stance and I said, I brought up something about You know how the last dance was ridiculous and they in? He, of course on the show was defending Jerry. Breaking up six championship team, a three peat Not letting them go back together in 1990. Nine's like they had nothing left. They were done. I find Jerry Krause doesn't get enough credit for some things, but I also Michael Jordan is the exception to a lot of these rules. You know, Bill Belichick lives by this policy of you move on a year to early versus a year too late. In my world. There are exceptions to those rules. Easy for me to tell. The guy was one how many like seven Super Bowl rings, But Michael Jordan transcends that narrative in mind. That team did. They couldn't wait to get rid of Phil. So like this is again the small minded nature. It is more than just about Could they have one in 99? They could have. It was a strike shortened year They went to bed to play as many games. Were they on their fumes? Probably They played a lot of basketball games. They're able to get out of the Eastern Conference finals. Then they would get a seven. They were down in the first half to Game seven against the Pacers. Okay, but they still didn't get beat. And this is here, where the small mindedness comes in. Not on Lee. Did you turn the team over to Tim Floyd, then Corey Benjamin and then Tyson and Eddie and all that stuff and all that losing and getting beaten. Just tow a pope The Carmen to Falco pregame days. But then by breaking that team up by sending Phil packing by forcing Michael into retirement, and by sending Scotty to Houston, you created this perception around the league that you don't take care of your players. And we're still fighting the battle that Whoa! If they didn't take care of Michael and Scottie and Phil, who won six Why're they were going to take care of me? So to say, and to defend the end and not giving them a chance. Maybe they don't win in 99, but you tried hard, and if they didn't win, maybe Michael Jordan is still with the Bulls. Maybe Michael Jordan is one going to Tracy McGrady to recruit him here instead of Jerry Krause and the lovable Zin Benny at the airport. Maybe Michael Jordan. Scottie Pippen are recruiting Tim Duncan here. Maybe Grant Hill signs here. Maybe you're able to pass the baton better than Jerry Krause winning this power struggle with with harmony Hall Famers Scottie Michael Rodman. Fill all Hall of Famers. So to say, not trying in 99. Well, they would have lost that. It's so small minded. It is so kiss asked to simply because you work for the owner of the team and its television network. It makes no sense in the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference, make the finals that year. Did the New York Knicks? Yeah. I would there they see, like to defend one to see that made the finals to not allow that team and create the perception that we don't take care of our own. Maybe Michael's got an interest of the Bulls now. Maybe Scotty recruits Grant hell I think one of cabs wasn't part of caps argument for this that Phil was stepping aside anyway. I think that's what you said on the show. You know why Phil was stepping aside because when they were in Seattle in 1996 They were. They flew Tim Floyd out to Seattle when the Bulls were in the midst of warning their fourth championship. Not there. Six, their fourth. And what we really when in descent 98. Yeah. When we had the last dance last year. Well, this all came up because of Aaron Rodgers. This came up because Aaron Rodgers was saying that Duty is like Kraus, and he's like Michael. Well, good. He's not like cross because cross had played on our large role in terms of winning six titles. That's true. That is true. I I mean, is goody also known as being somebody that It's good I like Is that his personality like does he have a cross like personality? Or was Aaron calling himself Michael? And Judy was Jerry Krause that what he was saying? Yes, he was saying that you're breaking something up when their championship level team you couldn't wait to get to Jordan Love Jerry Krause couldn't wait to build a team without Phil Jackson, Michael Jordan and Scottie will say that Aaron went through all of this, like he was on the other side of this conversation with the whole Brett Farve thing. So like it's in part of it's really weird to me to hear Aaron Rodgers on this front when he was Jordan Love at one point his career, right, so he lived it right. He lived it. So I mean, this whole thing to me has been exceptionally weird. But you're here for it because of the bears. Of course I am. But my my my point is, is like this isn't about Look, I think you get you can point to a lot of things that they did to try and build a good team to give Aaron Rodgers a chance like that defense significantly better last year that it had been before they added. Preston Smith. They added, I think, as the Darius Smith is what they did some nice things they ignored, bringing in another weapon inside that offensive huddle. I don't totally fault the Packers for completely ignoring building the roster to help Tell me where they failed was the lack of communication and some guys need more communication than others. And they just decided that we're going to treat Aaron Rodgers like You know, a knave Ridge quarterback with regard to the communications Turk in New Lenox here on ESPN 1000. What's up, Turk? Afternoon, Gentlemen dictated the show. Still be strong, Tommy wide you demand buddy. So I was listening. Live to that temper tantrum by slipper this morning and totally reminded me of wedding crashers when the redhead Wanted Vince one to come under the boat, and Christopher walking kept owner? No, and he's, she said. They're stopping her feet and hold their breath. That was Caplin after every valid argument and point and reaction from leader this morning. That cap just didn't want to understand. It didn't want to hear it. And he kept telling Dan to take the L take the el. Well, your cookie all hard. Kept kept took the LRT. Come tell him you're out of touch. You're out of touch. Sampling. He was way out of touch dead. Dude took the l hard today, and it was perfect listening to Weir's response. Every single time Cool collected. I don't get what Kaplan's problem is, man. He's got too much caffeine in the morning too much. Too much. Whatever he's got going on there, that dude's got to calm down Hood. He's got to give him a hug or something..

"Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday and really on Monday, Tuesday and stole the football mode. And even right now I'm still in the football mode. That means that does not mean that I'm not watching the MBA and I'm not watching the NHL am I got the TV's on in the studio watching games each and every night and then also when I go home, but last night when I was getting off the air, even said to listening audience Hey, the game that I really want to watch tonight. And the game that I'm actually pumped up to watch tonight when I get home. Is the Philadelphia 76 is going up against the Portland Trail Blazers, and that game lived up to the hype. Yes, Philadelphia is off to a tremendous start trolling beats playing like an M. V P candidate Ben Simmons doing a nice job in your one under Doc Rivers, But you're going up against a trail Blazers team last night, which no surprise there injured again. McCollum's out. You got also nor kitsch out. You got Collins out to like left and right injuries after injuries after injuries. And that's been the story last year. It's been the story this year again for the Portland Trail Blazers. And how about the resurgence? And you saw it last year? Because his career we thought was done. It was over after the departure and Houston, where is what they're for? 89 10 games. Whatever it was Carmelo Anthony. Last year. We saw some nice signs or Carmelo this year. We don't know where he was going to go and free agency and he ended up going back to Portland, which was a smart move and Carmelo Anthony or as they used to say it the garden, Carmela, and then he was unconscious last night in the fourth quarter. And Damian Lillard got off to a great start. Then you don't really hear from him, and then he showed up in the fourth quarter. So that was a wild finish. You had a nice three by curry too tight things up, and I thought it was a terrible call up against Tobias Harris on the whole screen and And they called the foul odor wasn't a screen. He was him playing defense. They called a foul on him. I just thought it was weak. I did not think it was a good call, but it did go in favor of the Portland Trail Blazers, and they end up winning the game and Robert Covington, a former Sixer, He ended up punching out the basketball on an inbounds pass, which was not a good inbounds pass by Philadelphia's that wasn't enjoyable game last night between Portland and Philadelphia. And after that, I want to sleep. I woke up and I was actually texting Ryan trace hinky about the show and then I don't know where I'm not usually a big exclamation point texter. But when, when? When it's with the Texans, I feel now as if everything has to be on caps lock. I'm not big on caps, locks and exclamation points. When I'm texting on Twitter, Yelp put capitals capped the caps lock on and also put the exclamation points, everything but on texting. I don't care for punctuation on tax and maybe that's why sometimes my text to get misinterpreted, But right away, I said, I got to go to all capital letters. Wow! Texan just released JJ Watt. And I think your response back to me. Trace was what? Wow, really, So I'll leave it. That's where we were. See. It's not terribly surprising. That the Texans aren't having J. J. Watt on the roster anymore. That's not a surprise. We know that relationship is over. You're JJ Watt your towards the end of your career. Ever since 2016. I know you've had some good years, but you you missed a lot more games. And you kind of been known the last few years, even though you played well, all banged up two years ago in the postseason up against the Buffalo bills to post seasons ago. If they're really ever since 2000 and 16 not that you're you know you're still a good football player. But you're really been injured. You've been known for missing a lot of games. And yes, JJ Watt is one of the nice human beings on the planet. He is a no doubt about it. Hall Famer what he meant for Houston. Not only on the football field, but then what he did during Hurricane Harvey with, you know, raising was like 35 36 $37 million. Whatever it was, the dude is a new, unbelievable human being. And it was time to move on. It was time to get rid of him, because if we're being honest with ourselves, the Texans are dysfunctional franchise and of J. J. Watt wants to play right now. J. J. Watt should be on the team that actually knows what they're doing, and have a damn clue with what they're doing, so we knew a divorce was imminent. I didn't think that they would just outright release him. And we were exchanging text back and forth. What was the market gonna be for JJ Watt and I don't know what the answer is He's in the final year of his contract. He was scheduled to make 16 $17 million this year. So it's a pretty big price tag. But if you get traded to the right team, maybe you would restructure. You probably would restructure to go get that ring and it's so it's a one year commitment. I can't imagine. That J. J Watt couldn't get you back. What a third or fourth round pick. Even if that's in the lowest of lows. I don't think you getting first round pick back for him. Maybe there's a bidding war. You could get a late too. But I would think that J. J Watt still, even though he's older, even though he's been banged up the last two years. And he did. It was healthy this year for whatever that's worth. I would think that you can least get something back for JJ Watt. The Texans. They did the honorable thing as asked. You know if you want to call it that, and they said OK, you with how much you've meant to this organization. We want to end things peacefully, and we're just gonna let you go. And I don't really love that Now. I could respect what Houston did. And you don't may with the state of that organization. I don't like Cal McNair. I don't like Jack Easterby. I don't believe in what they're doing to Shawn Watson has every right Demand to trade right now, and I hope that he keeps his foot on the gas pedal on that and tries to do everything in his power. Unfortunately for you Houston Texan fans, but to get out of that football team, because it's a cluster. You know what It's just ridiculous. How Jackie's to be still has big say, and Cal McNair doesn't know what he's doing. He's not ready for this moment. But Even with that, and maybe even saying all they did the honorable thing and they did right by the player. That's not the NFL. It's not.

Damian Lillard Robert Covington Ben Simmons Jack Easterby Shawn Watson Tobias Harris Carmela Ryan Carmelo Carmelo Anthony Cal McNair Portland Trail Blazers J. J Watt Last year 2016 Wednesday J. J. Watt Thursday last year Philadelphia 76

He He's an issue to be sure. What about Travis? Kelsey? I'm in Kansas City does have weapons over the field, man. How big of a problem is Travis Kelsey? Yeah. Oh, man. He's a big problem because he's always gonna find those holes. You know, He's just a guy just knows how to get open. And he has great chemistry with my homes when he gets out that pocket, the first person who's looking forward Travis Kelsey. And he's certainly as you don't dropped so many balls and He didn't get open, man. So this system settle. Is this a great offense and reach put together? But the bugs have, uh, a lot of 646 ft. One corners, big corners that can put hairs on Kelsey and Thad is slowing down a little bit so How take the Bucks do match of salary kills you talking to Chris Harris Jr. So your analysis on this is not surprising me at all, because when you and I have talked in the past, I could always get that sense. Like you've got this great head for the game and you see a game a certain way or the game. A certain way is coaching something that you might consider when you're playing career is over. Man. Yeah. Death. My probably consider that I thought it would always be cool to do something. The front office. With scout in the truth and players, things like that work my way to that level. Just really. It's just really. I got a lot of options down, so I'm the way I'm out once I'm done. And try to figure out what was best for me and my family. At that time I got you. So who do you like on Sunday? Who wins on Sunday, and why? Man. I'm gonna go with passion. My home's just cause you too much man has been able to scramble Um Dissect the Bucks defense make all the throws on the run out in the pocket. I think it's gonna be a tough matchup for the boy itself to bet against him for sure. Listen, before you go, you and I have talked about your foundation in the past. Hey, just crushed it. He nailed it. It is so good. What a secondary. That was 25 years ago. So, as I always say, don't do it right now. We until after the program. We're doing a workout. If you're still commuting to it then But listen to that podcast. It's really, really good. And then coming up this week, mid week before I take off for Tampa, we've got another one. Obviously, they drop every single Wednesday. The general podcast. It's free. It's long form. Charles Woodson. Also a finalist for the Hall of Fame. So the Packers have Charles Woodson is a finalist. Although the Raiders may claim him as their own. Either way, he is a finalist his first time in no doubt he's a hall Famer. Roy Butler was on the podcast couple of weeks back. He's a finalist for the Hall of Fame. And we should find out soon right around the game who is in something to keep in mind? Also looking ahead to our number two Cuyler Murray is going to be my guest. In terms of the game itself, and we'll start to really get into this. And the match up in terms of Who do you like? I asked to keep to leave. Looking at this particular matchup. You got that Tampa Bay defensive front, which is unbelievable and put a lot of pressure on quarterbacks. But there is no quarterback quite like Patrick Holmes. I asked to keep to leave who he liked and why two teams in the league and it's the Bucks and the chief where then you can't play zone against him. Because the quarterback is too good for you to play his own against you gonna make the right read good quarterbacks. They tears on up and then you can't play man against him because the weapons that they Have around him. The Mike Evans to Godwin's The Kelsey's The Tiring his The Hartmans..

"Yeah, Here's the pitch by downing swinging. There's a drive in the left center field. That ball is gonna pay. Outta here. It's gone. It's 7 15. Home run champion of all time on it's Henry Aaron. Fireworks. They're going. Henry Aaron is coming around third, his teammates right home plate and listen to this crowd. One of the greatest moments in the history of the game. Hank Aaron passing Babe Ruth as the all time home run King. And then, of course, Aaron would go on to break the all time record for home runs. But if that's all you think about when you think about Hank Aaron, you are missing out there was so much more to Aaron than that. He's the all time leader and runs batted in the all time leader in extra base hits the all time leader in total bases. He's fourth and run scored third and hits Now Think about that? The man who was known for home, runs his third all time and hits Pirro's Ty Cobb and then Hank Aaron. 20 time. All Star three time Gold Glove winner, a two time batting champ. Ah, First Ballot Hall Famer. I mean, similar to Wayne Gretzky and that it's easy to forget just how good he was at everything. Is Ernie Johnson said quote. There's always been a great comparison between William A's and Hank Aaron. I think a Los Angeles writer said it best when we were playing out there and the guy wrote quote Hank Aaron does everything that Willie Mays does. But his cap doesn't fall off. End quote. Now, if Hank before all he did was rack up crazy stats. That would be an amazing impact. But he was also again so much more than that. He came into the league seven years after Jackie Robinson. And when the Braves moved from Milwaukee to Atlanta before the 1966 season, he transformed the entire city as the iconic Andrew Young told Terence Moore quote. His coming here opened up the town. Significantly. That actually was then Mayor Ivan Allen's plan that Big League sports would bring a big league attitude to the city of Atlanta and was right about that time that we started the campaign of the city too busy to hate. So I've always said that Hank Aaron made a contribution to the successful desegregation of Atlanta. He did so very quietly and very effectively and quote. Again. Think about that for a minute. Everything that he did on the field was amazing, but his impact in desegregating Atlanta was so much bigger. That doesn't mean that it came easily right? It sure as hell did not come easily. He received countless graphic specific and vile death threats over the course of his career, and especially as he approached Babe Ruth's record. According to Terrence Moore, he kept the worst of the worst in his addict. Dusty Baker's friend told Mork quote. Since I was so close to Hank, I had to look a lot of that stuff. It was terrible, but he was still carrying himself with honor and dignity. He treated white kids and Latin kids as well as he did the black kids. He treated everybody good, regardless and quote. Like there are no words that could do justice today. Hate that he received And the way that he dealt with it, just like there are no words that can really sum up. What he meant to the game is a player into this entire country is a person. You're going to hear quite a bit about Hank Aaron over the next few days, and I'm going to bet that even the biggest Hank Aaron fans are going to learn something new. Maybe something about his career. Maybe it's something about his life. Maybe it's something about his impact on civil rights and the fight for equality. But I guarantee I guarantee in the ensuing days you will learn something about him that you did not already know. Because that's just how big he woz how great he was and how many different areas of American life that he impacted. The fact of the matter is there's no way I could personally Foy do justice to him in this space. I would say this. If you haven't already I would suggest you read Howard Brian's book, The Last Hero, a Life of Henry Aaron. Do that. And then you learn so much more about Aaron, the man and his role in baseball, his role in society and how he felt about that, because it wasn't simple and it definitely was not always comfortable. Aaron was one of the greatest baseball players who ever walked the Earth but is, he told The Atlanta Journal Constitution back in those six quote, I would just want to be remembered. Somebody who tried to be fair with people. It certainly was that And so much more. So I had to start a Friday with a really sad don't like that. On Hank Aaron has passed 1 806 368686. You're more than welcome to share your thoughts as well. Those are mine. In addition to that, It's a big big sports weekend NFC Championship Game A F C championship game, Connor McGregor making his triumphant return of the cage. The big head James Kelly, making his triumphant return to the jungle like he does every single Friday. Has been taking some now, but I think he's gonna get right. This is his get right weekend. Also in the NFL. I want to talk about Dan Campbell. So yesterday we got into it pretty flee and was only based on one sound bite that I'd seen now that I've seen the entire presser. I'm not going to say that my opinions changed dramatically. But to a certain extent, I'm still not exactly sure what I was watching. But this guy yesterday You know the next Vince Lombardi or the next Hannibal Lecter? That was a weird presser. Weird is normally good. That was just weird. Might be good. Scott might be a great coach, and then again, he might not be. I know this. That pressure will stick to him, no matter what. Then you've got the case of Erik the enemy. Like the enemy. That's another job that he missed out on. He missed out on the Philadelphia Eagles job Now we went to the Texans deal. The enemy was actually talking about it openly yesterday, and then somebody else came to his defense. Alex Smith. Also an update on Gronk. Tom Brady hasn't used Gronk is much I thought that he might. But then again, Brady's got so many different weapons. He's got a complete arsenal there. Crock is still drunk, and we still love growing for being drunk. Don't want to get into that. And then you've got some big names having social media come back to bite me in the back. And I will try to work that in as well. 1 806 368686. If you want to show your reaction, go right ahead and do it, do it. John read the fourth. Starts us off, Quote. Thank you, Jim Rome for honoring a great man. I got the chance to meet him As a child. Such a wonderful person. The Braves should change the name to the hammers in his honor. He was talking about Guy D double, he said to me, Did you ever speak to Hank and I think I did only once. I think I did only once. Hank did not do a lot of media back in the day. Extremely dignified, extremely proud, extremely noble. I think only once. You have no sound right?.

"Some NBA top PR evincing Good will joins me right then. We talked to Lorenzo Alexander about Buffalo bills and the Chiefs. We flipped out over to the other side episode 1 59 of the General podcast dropped yesterday and all the normal spots. And the same off former NFL greats from current NFL playoff teams continued. If you've been following along, I did have Steve Tasker repping the Mafia a few weeks back then was Joe Thomas, who rolled through for C town. Now I've got my guy Laroy Butler flying the flag from Title town. My guy Roy Butler. He is the best. Super Bowl champ before time, all pro Ah, Packers Hall Famer, the inventor of the Lambeau Leap, and just essentially a damn good guy. Really good guy with a ton of positive energy, And I had such a great time chopping it up with him yesterday. As you probably know. Roy Butler played with Brett Farve. He wanted Championship with Brett Farve, but I did ask him yesterday. If you have to win one game and you every choice of the slinger and Aaron Rodgers in their primes, and you've got to win one game. And you want to win a ring. Who were you going with? Here's what the Roy said. I want to reign with bread Father. He's never missed a game. Okay, put that to a size if Aaron Rodgers wins a Super Bowl, not only what I choose him, but you also have to say it's better than breath heart because he would want to Knuckleballs. That's how people look at in the barber shop. And I will also say this if Aaron Rodgers in the history of the NFL general if he goes down when he retired under 100 interception That's goat status. When a guy with the top rated quarterback never do about 100 few nine, saying that is to say, I think he had, like 88. Now there's got never throws a lot of interception. Aaron Rodgers is the man right now. Why would they give you have spread far that question? Be fair about is the air you know that the top of his game That's a really interesting response that somebody who not only played with Brett Farve want to ring with Brett Farve. He said that if Aaron Rodgers wins the Super Bowl, then he's better than Brett Farve, and the bread far would admit as much. I think the biggest takeaway I have there is we're talking about a guy that played 12 years ago who want to ring a guy's the Hall of Fame finalist. Somebody played his entire career Ruth in Green Bay. What he said that Roy sticks out to me if you have that conversation in the barber shop That's the bottom line like that's where everything is decided the barbershop. If the barbershop decides, then it's fact. So not only is Leroy taking Aaron Rodgers, he thinks the bread far void to speaking of all teammates. I asked LeRoi about two guys that he used to play with. Reggie White and my man Terrell Buckley. No way that I talked to a guy that shared a defensive backfield with T Buck and not ask him about the legend Terrell Buckley. But let me start first with his thoughts on the legend. That was Reggie White, red. Your white suit the NFL to become a free agent before Jim and you know this. It was called Plan B would protect all the good players and give all the young players chip in it. You know, just a minimum register. No, I should be free to go wherever I want. And I remember Mike Homeroom. He just felt like that was the missing piece and what I felt ready in that locker room. All of a sudden, Jim, the losing culture just left. The whole building and we expected to win. And I remember asking Richard, why did you choose Green Bay's You say royally. Oh, well, chop your ship. I said what couldn't you do that If silly, I got the best descends. I got all these weapons. All I want to come somewhere, the alleged and that's what wrong. Wolf told him. You could go anywhere in the world and be a great player. But if you come here, you'll be a legend. And Ron Wolf was correct. And so was Reggie White. You see what I mean about all the positive energy from LeRoi and how good this is so much like in that clip, like how Reggie instantly wiped out that losing culture of that moment. And how the Packers are one of the franchise is, of course, where, if you go in you win, you are a legend. Now he was good on Reggie White, but he was even better even better on one of my all time favorite athletes. Terrell Buckley. He bugged to me with one of the smartest individuals. On and off the field I've ever been around. I mean, the guy was really brilliant. He brought in something that we need. It is to have the confidence and swagger to play a position that most people can't play and for his size. If you look at his career, Jim, he's really had a pretty great career. He's one of my best friends. My word. One day he'll be a head coach because you relate to players and you could see the brilliance that he had just a smart guy because he always talks accident. Oh, Jem were eating lunch like Okay. If this guy moves I'm a change this it just got Does this just quarterbacked Listen food, and it's a run. I'm like, dude, take it easy because I want to eat. He said No. That's what I do. We talked about. I love you, but I don't think there ever be a guy like that with his side. Go back on part, return Jim and look in the audience. And so I'm gonna take this ball back, have the swagger to do it. And that's the thing about it, Gemma. I'm so glad we're talking about him. I'm not sure I didn't think I would ever meet anybody who loved T Buck as much as I did, And I think the Roy does you want to send the entire thing Because there's a part where I told Roy that to roll. Buckley once told me that he was the originator of the Lambeau Leap and that he actually gave it to LeRoi. That he invented it and gifted it to him. It's hilarious because Roy can't stop laughing because he knows that's exactly something that to buck would say. And on a more serious note. Why bother is a huge proponent of mental health awareness, and he has some advice for everybody listening, especially those that might be struggling right now, Jim. I've been in therapy for about 15 20 years and I used to go talk to when I played in the nineties. I will go talk for hours. Four psychologists as athletes do talk to be the tough guy. Most people say well, Most of these guys got millions of dollars with the anxiety of about it could be anything Jim that leads to depression, so I would advise everybody if you can afford it to have a good therapist. Talk to you and find out what's going on. I was so excited and proud of Kevin Love when he talked about it. I mean, doesn't really heroes to me because somebody out there Jim is dealing with it. And they look at us on television catch touchdowns, interceptions and they said, You know what? I heard this young man say yes. Society. Maybe I should call my therapist and find out how can I be a better master? My family? Nothing wrong with that. Roy Butler..

"Do you really think Philip Rivers belongs in the Hall of Fame? He's a tremendous talent but does not belong Bellaby in Calgary. All right, Bill. A few things number one. You know, the 80 P is not an hour. One thing. It's now or three thing. Number two. I mean, the Radio Hall of Fame, not the NFL Hall of Fame. Number three to answer your question. Do I really think that Philip Rivers is a Hall of Famer? Bella. If I didn't really think that Philip Rivers was the whole fam er would I have really said did. Philip Rivers is the Hall Famer and a first ballot hall family? So, yes, I think he really is all family. And then lastly, you don't even care what I think. That was not your point. You and Bella. You're my gal. I love you. But you're one of those people in this case, at least in this case who asked me my take, but don't really care about my take youse want to give me your take? I get that all the time. Hey, yo, Rome. I'll run to somebody on the street or at least back in the day. Pre pandemic. Hey, your room. What do you think about the Lakers? They don't care. They never care what I think about the Lakers. They want me to know what they think about the Lakers. That's their way of getting into it. That's what you just did. Hey, Jim, do you really think that Philip Rivers is the whole family? You don't care what I think. In fact, you already know what I think. Because I spent 12 minutes in the open telling you what I think. What you wanted to do is tell me what you think. Bella and Bill, You're far from the only one to hate on Phil. There's a lot of people who hate on Phil. I'm not one of them. I love the guy. And I understand the guy's air often measured against how many rings day one How many rings they lost and they should be. That is part of the criteria, but it's not the only criteria. And the fact that he never won a Super Bowl. The fact that he never made it to the Super Bowl to me is not a reason to keep this guy out of the Hall of Fame. He's a hall of Famer through and through. Believe me, there are guys that have won Super bowls pit do not deserve to be in the Hall of Fame and their guys who've never been to the Super Bowl that deserve to be in the Hall of Fame. So if you want to get into that we can. I love the guy is a player is a leader is a teammate and is a high school football coach. How awesome. Would that be to play high school football for Coach Phil Rivers? I'm thinking believable. I'll pick that topic up in a minute as promised. We're joined right now by the head football coach at Marshall. He was introduced as thundering Herd head coach yesterday. He previously served as the associate head coach of running backs and running backs coach I should say at Alabama, he played his college ball at Hampton Marshall is seven and three in 2020, or they were First place in the C USA East Division. Charles Huff is my guest, Charles. Great to have you on what's up? How you doing, Coach? I'm going fantastic, man. I I really have Ticked off a lot of boxes. In the last few days. I have taken the best job in America. I got a chance to Um, you be introduced in the head coach, and I am now on one of my favorite radio shows of all time, like I don't know if life getting better, my man, This is one of my favorite starts to any interview that I've ever done And I've done thousands of interviews. Charlie's health is my guest. I appreciate you saying that I appreciate you. So you were officially introduced yesterday. What of the last few days been like for you and your family? You know, it's been great, man. We we were thrilled to be part of this program. They have this opportunity. My family is back in Tuscaloosa. My son is Eight years old. He is on a basketball team, and he would not this aching for the world. So I was like, Hey, Dad's gonna be Ah, introduces the head coach on Tuesday. He's like, have a game. Okay, Well, you're right. You're right. But it's been great man. They're going to get up here in a couple weeks. We're grinding food right now. Trying to check all the boxes. Get the right staff in here. Get out players rolling. We're fired up, man. Man. That is awesome. Charles help! Joining us in. The story goes that when you went to Hampton as a walk on, he ended up playing guard full back tight end before being the center and team Captain is a senior, like is you look back, and then you've got a lot of work in front of you. And you're eager to get to it. But when you look back is your time as a player there. What were you like when you first arrived on campus? You know I was. I was like a lot of the kids, You know that we're here today and I came in and thought I was all world and that I was gonna walk in and take over the world and you realize that you know every step in your life, especially when you go from high school college. It's changed. You know, there's a lot of good players around. You don't know what you don't know. You're not as fast as you think on, Ben. You know, you look back four years from now on and everything Your coach told you all the experiences you went through, prepares you for those moments and You know you flip the clock around. And that same spy when I'm standing in front of that podium and, you know, except in or, you know, doing the introduction speech for dis heads up. Talking, Charles tough, You know, I love that. You don't know what you don't know. And then you learn you talk about Coach you play for the great job. Taylor at Hampton. It's clear how much respect he has for.

"For hanging out with us on the Thursday NFL playoffs. Coaching search is Robert Sala. All those things the bills are taking on the Ravens. Lots of things to talk about. With Brian Billick, Super Bowl winning coach of the Ravens at coach Billick CM on NFL Network. You read his books. He is a multi dimensional power and he joins us courtesy of the only guest line. Hi, Brian. How are you? How are we doing this afternoon? How we're doing good. We're just We're just counting the hours down to more playoff football. We like to Super Bowl a wild card weekend, but the divisional Zehr always where it's at, right. Yeah. I love the divisional weekend because, you know, I think we've got great matchups. I think you got the right themes there. And you always to me always. That's where you really learn about what's going on in the league Directionally. I know the championship in the Super Bowl, the top two teams, But when you look at these eight teams, you get you get a real sense of what the direction I think it's fascinating that we have this dichotomy of three future Hall Famers, You know you're talking about Brady. Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees. And then you've got this cadre of young guys, Uh, you know, with Josh Alan and Pat Mahomes and Lamar Jackson and certainly Josh Alan, great great contrast in terms of the old school versus the new bucks. Fact, I think it's the oldest ever in history in the NFC side of it in the youngest ever in history coach on the A F C side and I'm watching the NFL network is replaying Baltimore at Buffalo last year in Orchard Park. Has that recall. Buffalo did give them problems in the run game, but they don't have the offensive weaponry and the Ravens wound up winning by seven, but you're obviously close to the franchise into the preseason games. Lamar Jackson We know what a great runner is. He may be the best running back in the league playing quarterback, but how do you assess him as a thrower from his rookie year? I thought it was the most improved player in the league last year Not only the M V P, but the M I P And then this year times you thought maybe he regressed a little bit, And when he came back from covert, he was better. How do you assess him as a as a thrower of the football coach? Well, he's good enough. I don't think there's a huge improvement from the end of last year. Uh, I don't know if there will be. I think what he is, is what he is still struggles, little bit drying outside the numbers. But there are times he can crank it up, and he's just such a special player. You're right last year, Buffalo held them to 40 yards, just 11 carats and where it was touching wars. Only, uh, 10 ft. Look like they had a good plan going, But all it takes is one time you leave that scene believe that crack With a little over two minutes and they're down by 10 all the things that you know they can't come back from behind with 10, and they haven't won a playoff game and boom. Lamar Jackson breaks off 48 yards for a touchdown and changes the whole dynamic of the game. So Uh, yeah, I think Buffalo's got a chance in your right last year was totally different because the offense with Josh Josh Allen told me different player and wasn't doing what he is doing now, so it's just gonna be a test for the for the ratings. Coach Brian Billick is June. It's popping one here on the SportsCenter mentioned Josh al and I gotta be honest. I didn't think it was gonna happen with the Wyoming background. I didn't know it was great in college and all the sudden, man. He just turns it around this year. What have you seen from him? That has allowed him to make this jump. All this just inefficiency, including me. What are you doing? You're right. You know, we keep matter really Junior colleges. Thank you really wondering while me under 60% completion percentage That's not usually does not add up And you usually don't get better that something like that in the NFL the first two years. He really didn't. He was dynamic. He ran round made some plays. It's a good place, and he still didn't have that efficiency that who would release whatever he did in the off season. However, we worked with whatever he did to streamline it. Hey, did a heck of a job because he's playing at the top of his game. He just comes. Any quarterback in the league right now may be the best quarterback in the league. Both run and passed with all understand, we've got Aaron Rodgers plans that unbelievable, mythical level and Pat Mahomes but in terms of the sheer ability Execute and run and execute the past. He's uh he's pretty good. Yeah, they Baltimore Buffalo game of the Saturday evening our time. 5 15 on NBC the earlier game on Saturday. 1 35 on Fox is gonna be here in Rodgers. And it's gonna be all Kale matchup because golf is gonna go Justus farce chaired being able to throw the ball. He was obviously hampered with the thumb, but they had no other choice because Welford, you know, had to leave the game and was seriously hurt. What did you notice about him just throwing the ball. And will that get better this week from from last week, Coach It should get a little better. You're right. We could clearly see he was not on. You just probably couldn't really grip the ball process and that touching that deal from the follow through it have to be a little better, but still, he's only what less than a week and a half for two weeks. In that surgery on the stuff..

"Apparently, and you appear here in the point Spread sports book pregame show, Brian. I know a couple bears fans were saying they're all geeked up for today, and now you wait till 3 25 for the kickoff. It's kind of a pain. I mean, I was really looking forward to another noon start and I know they feel better about drinking a little later in the day, the press Yeah, but you want to get started early, too. I mean, I guess you could. But you want to be awake for the whole game, You know is sometimes you do you drink a few Miller Lites is like, Okay, well, I need a little nap here, and the game hasn't kicked off yet. Um, but, yeah, The noon starts are great when you when you have a game like this, and with the anticipation, bears and Packer fans have. I mean, there's we know that there are tons of Packer fans in Chicago. I've got one living next to me. Two of my best friends are packed and sometimes they're in the family, right? Yes. Sometimes you've got those marriages that you don't know how they work. E No. So you got him out there and you know it's tough to As a bears fan. It's tough to say anything about them other than maybe the color of their uniforms. You know the green and gold and, you know, it's kind of frustrating. I was watching. I read something earlier, someone asked Cold combat if he hated the Packers, and he said, I had nothing in my house. It was raining gold, you know, let's just leave it at that s O. The Bears and the Packers getting ready to go at it, and I I'm hoping for. I mentioned how I'm concerned. About the Packers tight ends. I would love to see a big day for Cole commit and for Jimmy Graham Graham going back and playing the Packers again after you know, he said he had five touchdowns in In the time he spent in Green Bay over two seasons. He's got eight with the Bears already this year s O. B in the red zone and zone and he he said, Look, They're all saying the right things that house off right and your guy, Jimmy Graham said. It's all there force right in front of us. And they've got the I guess in the bulletin board. They've got digital board material. Now you know, no one pulled a double swing and, you know, set up a set of fire for the torches team, but I mean, they even posted things from years ago from a couple years ago, Aaron Rodgers said about the Bears. So I've loved you from Barris fans. I mean, is this Is this a bear Packer playoff game? Where your you got the jersey on your firing up the grill. You're doing a tailgate and we're getting raped. Or you are you conflicted to the point where you're not sure you want to celebrate anything in just there. The seasons left you kind of therapy because of the six game losing streak in the five and one start. And then the revitalization of the offense, Or is it you don't know how to feel well, and that's why today is a huge game 3123323776 because those who think that the offense is different, it started even click. Mitch is figuring things out David Montgomery running the ball. Now you're going up against the team that needs the wind to become the number one seed in the NFC. And, um, get, you know, home field advantage throughout the entire playoffs. I guess the Packers there Rogers have never had Home field throughout the entire playoffs. Plus, they've been the one Super Bowl. You know, we talk about that. You see the Packers and you know it's not easy in the Super Bowl. It is if you got Aaron Rodgers playing MPP type football, right, he's been your favorite to win. The MV Sirius on that with floor is not Mike McCarthy. And really is Aaron Rodgers. As much as the reporters about Maggie's fact help them build lays around our play calling. I don't know how much met before Matt with floor tells Aaron Rodgers what to do or not to do. Is once evolves, inherits hands. I imagine that the hall Famer gets to pretty much pick his poison to do what he wants. But if you're not just for this game, maybe you could tell us why. Maybe as a bears fan You just You have to let it, you know, explain toe toe us how you're not getting excited for this. We're talking about Jimmy Graham and man Eggy talked about Graham's impact and preparing for this one. I think a lot of that for Jimmy what we're that's great is him being able to talk to the guys. We have a younger team, especially on offense. And so he's able to talk to this players and kind of give them the mindset of how to approach the Monday through Saturday, more than anything on game that they all have their own ways of what they do. They get focused on locked in, but you know how do you proud? This When you're watching tape, you know what you're looking for it And as that, you know how what went on the first game, And then how do you approach a big game like this? What's the mindset of that? I think Jimmy would tell you, too, that he's learning all these years He's been playing. He's probably plays this game a lot different mentally than what he did as a 1st 2nd 3rd year, guys so he can get these younger guys. His experiences of what he wouldn't do or what he would do so. You know, it just goes back when you have time in this league like he does, and you played in in big games and played for successful teams. You know, you rely on that. I think now. Greater than ever for us on offense. He's a valuable asset, not just because of who he is as a player, but how he practices and his his speed right now. Practice guys is GPS numbers are like crazy. Good in practice and week 16. You know, in practice and in the game. I mean, he's rolling Right now. We joke about it being 39 or whatever he is, and he's had a pretty good is that 39 he's saying purposes 39. Yeah, I think he's 36 actually, but he's not. 39 are Tito's tip of the game brought to you by.

Yeah, I don't think that's the case with last night. That really is a game. That's going to be remembered for a long, long time because that game had everything division rivals prime time in December multiple lead changes and iconic return from the locker room, a game winning field goal at distance. In crazy winds. You know that old Heavyweight fight cliche. That has been absolutely beaten into the ground buried, dug up beaten into the ground buried again. It's too bad because it really is the perfect description for what went down last night. Couple of teams just standing in the middle of the ring standing, flat footed trading haymakers like some Rocky and Apollo Creed, bleep. I mean, no defense, no lateral movement. Nobody looking to slip any punches. Just a couple of heavyweights standing flat footed in the center of the ring, looking to land a kill shot. And you could tell it from the very jump from the very first drive. The Browns went 81 yards in 11 plays. It was a Kevin's to fan ski special. Mixing the run and the past, throwing in a wide receiver pass and then closing it out. With Nick Chubb, finishing it off of the TV runs. Handoff, breaks a tackle over the 75 into the end zone. Touchdown.
