"At the heyday of or the early days of DNV and a lot of people who read the chronicle super. Dane. Are also dean defense at all but but fair number of them. So I mean not that I, th- really think Disney would care about that but it is something to consider when you think of the the public. Acceptance I guess of this movie or you know why it didn't do as well as eight hoped. Yeah. It's a thought I don't know if it's How real it is but. So they brought in. John Muscular, who was another animator to be the director? So he got attached to the project. He worked on trying to expand several sequences during the first act those were eventually. deemed. Too comedic. Those were scrapped. Once they finish production on the Fox of the hounds they pulled several other folks for Matt to get involved. And then Ron. W. Miller decided they were too many cooks in the kitchen and decided that some of them didn't need to be involved. So he brought in Joe Hale who was a layout artist to service producer. once he came on actual like physical production really started to begin in nineteen eighty. Remember originally, they wanted it to be released in nineteen eighty. Yeah. Yeah They had several people working on a character artwork. I can't remember the guy's name I'll put a link to it in the show notes. There's a video. I wash on Youtube last night or this guy goes into whole like back story of its and. Actually. Like shows some things that changed ocean all that But like they brought in like a guy who used to work for marvel. The worked on ghostwriter at one points So the direction, they were going as far as as the look was. Very macab. And Dark and I don't even know all the words to think of like If it. Just very grim, very grim. If it helps helps you visualize the idea that they were going one of the artists that was brought on. And then eventually let go because his art was not deemed was not the direction they wanted to go with a guy named Tim Burton. So. That's the direction they were going. For they decided that Tim Burton's style was not the direction that they wanted. Now I'm I mean yeah I read that and. Now I'm curious Mike. What would Tim Burton's Black Cauldron Look Right I mean it maybe it would work on some level if they were consistent with it but who really? Yeah. So go go do Batman Tim. Whatever whatever was going on at the time. Pacman at that point still not what for like another? What ninety? Nine pounds. Like that, so Apparently, he was already, he had already developed his style. Enough that Disney was like. NO WE'RE GONNA go a different direction. Thank you thank you for your interests. Don't call us. We'll call you. Yeah. But I think it's funny that they're like, yeah this was too dark and grim 'cause timber was working on I'm like well, that tells me everything I needed to know. So Yeah. So Tim Burton along with some others or like don't call us, we'll call you a they were like, no we really want this to be more like sleeping beauty style So they brought in again, one of the walls nine old men milk call who was out of retirement actually talk on the character designs. So they worked on that that revised it they built her story mostly out of the first two books. which caused and they made some more changes which cause another person to leave over creative differences. John Moscow and Ron Clements who were both working on it cited creative differences. So they were removed and then or put on the great. Mass detective. Not, happy with that concept for the horned King Hale. Hale was actually the one that turned the honking into this thing creature with the hood the glowing red eyes and everything and he's actually a kind of a composite villain of several characters from the bucks. so so they're working on this. it was supposed to be. Disney's. Seconds Supposed to be one. Of Like the second. Disney. Oh, it was supposed to be the first fully animated movie to be filmed in wide-screen seventy millimeter since sleeping beauty. was last one to be done in seventy millimeter however the. They started to film it in in the seventy millimeter with the seventy millimeter lake template measurements that they had been given, and then they realized that the seventy millimeter that was used for sleeping beauty was not the same seventy millimeter us now. So everything that they had done had to be scrapped. No Yup. Oh. Oh. I feel bad for those guys. Yeah. Oh my gosh. based. Yeah so that That again. Caused some issues So they they're still working on it. Yeah. The start essentially. and get to get to the point where it's like, okay we can. We've got something. We can show the higher ups. and. They can give us a thumbs up thumbs down change this change that whatever So they show their first cut of it to Jeffrey Katzenberg. A muddy. He hated it. He he was like, no you need to cut like ten minutes from this. And they like.

"For a disease that has only killed 500. I'm not trying to diminish any one of those Indian divorce, not 542. But when you compare that to other diseases and other things that happen in the course of day to day life that kill people. We've lost a lot more people in that heart to heart disease lost more people than that two car accidents. We lose more people than that to the regular flu on almost any given year. And you missed one on that list, and it's they've also It's also instilled fear, and that's what it comes down to, right because people don't want to say those things that you just said you're 100 per cent, Right? You know, way we fully hyper focus on cove it because our governor refuses to relinquish his dictatorial powers, and we're gonna talk about what a jerk hypocrite he is here in. It's governor. Tim was talking about you again coming up here in in just a few minutes, But we have we've instilled fear into individuals and it needs to be. You know, this needs to be hammered. Everybody knows how to protect themselves and is doing what they want to do on their own, for crying out loud, even my son Yesterday we went on a bike ride and we're riding down the street, and there was a woman that was walking out to the mailbox to get her mail. By yourself. Nobody around. She's wearing a mask. Europe has two kinds. Like why is she wearing a mask? So you know, so I don't I have no idea because she is living in fear of something, but there's nobody there is there is there is there's nobody around. We've instilled fear into people. We don't need any measures anymore. I'm looking at the the Department of Health website. And if you scroll down you go to the cove in 19 page mn dot gov slash cove in 19. I should redirect bucket of craft out here dot com. They they have the dial's member. The Dial's. We've talked about the Diallo Micah. She forgot about the dialogue. We haven't talked about the dials and forever because they haven't been adjusted since June. 10th. Are you kidding me like that? There's been no no change. No adjustment, according to this little stupid. Pdf on their website. June. 10th was the last time that anybody has Walsh doesn't even know they forgot about the dialogue. Totally. What are you doing? Oh, my gosh. More reasons why the death rate has fallen. Improved use of ventilators. Remember, we didn't have enough ventilators. Gotta get ventilators. You don't have any ventilators. How do we make a ventilator at home, don't you that It was like a terrible idea. Don't suddenly, Apollo 13 pops in my head when they had to make the air filter. We've gotten better at fine tuning ventilation, understanding the optimal amount of oxygen pressure in time between breaths. We've learned to be very gentle on the lungs. They've also been deploying other tactics we talked about this months ago. The Browning a team of caregivers gently roll a patient from their back onto their abdomen, and it opens up the breathing passageways and there chested intends of helping them. It'd in tremendous ways. They've learned to be especially vigilant in the prevention of other infections as well in the I C U for instance, thie use of urinary catheter boost the risk of deadly infections, so they've been able to zero in on sort of the unexpected consequences of what the virus does to the body. That's not directly related to the Youngs and compensated to stave off those other, potentially disastrous, fatal things. We've learned a lot right, That's that's the whole point. We've learned what to do. We've learned a lot about how to treat this virus. We've developed a lot of we've been a lot of advancement in the therapeutics. You know, we just understand a lot more. And that's you know, credit to everybody that's been working on it all this time. And to you. Ah, to you, D c anti fans of the show of which I have muted this one's for you all the demonizing and vilifying of hydroxy Clara. Gwen was all for not it's being used. By people in hospitals every single day as a therapeutic itself. Husbands take it. Yeah, Yeah, yeah, This was a was it was it was a clover shark, right? Yeah. Yeah, we'll talk about her a little bit later on to redemption, Severe, you know, they're using that is that as well, But no man, I got to keep it. It's going away. I mean, you're you're 2020 Redemption is accurate in a number of different ways, And I think the passing of the disrespect RBG is accelerating that because I think now what we're going to see is there's going to so much focus in other areas of this election cycle that there's no reason to continue with the fearmongering and the actions that we've been taking in preventing cove it from spreading on DH. You look at things like the voting to bring football back high school sports back and the only reason they did. That is because now it's on TV. That's the only reason they did. That is because now everybody's watching it on TV and going away while we're doing that here, seriously, we haven't played for father. The big college football starts up one week later, the Big ten's back. No NFL starts up two weeks later, high school football is back. It's like you guys were just fought. You guys don't really have a plan. All you're doing is reacting. You're just reacting to whatever people want. You've got to try to you with him all up into a frenzy, and then you react. And then that frenzy starts to die down. And then you start giving a little bit of freedom back a little bit at a time. Site by real quick. Football without the fans that that's like of all the ones that have come back like you like a NASCAR. You look at MLB basketball. Football without the fans. I think it's the game suffers the most at least in my viewing experience. So far of the games that I've watched. It's definitely different. Yeah, I eyes how impactful in my opinion. It hasn't bothered me. But I'm I'm probably I've realized I'm probably in the minority on there. It hasn't bothered me and I think that's just because I don't know, man. I'm just such a nut for foot for the just love that stupid game, probably NASCAR fans to feel the same way that I did. And they're like John and sucks without fans. And I'm like, okay, I got cars going, but No, it hasn't. It hasn't bothered me from a viewing perspective. Ah, whole lot yet, but they do need to get better about you know, different stadiums are having different experiences with the piped in crowd noise. Some of them are better at it than others, especially those Philadelphia Eagles, bringing their own quarterback. Still amazing to me. It's okay. Get over how beside himself. Paul Allen was yesterday We went there. They did not do their own garden back, but he's getting fire with the sound machine did, but they've got to start letting fans in. I mean, when you see the shot the big the big, wide shot of empty stadium. It just makes it look so dumb. There's no reason why you can't have some people in there safely. Stupid. You know this giant these these billion dollars stadiums that have been built out west of the the Vegas Raiders. Played their first game in their new stadium last night is a spectacular and magnificent and probably cost $4 billion, and you could, if it is a bit like 60,000 people in there. You're telling me you can't put 10,000 people easily let him have a good time. That's that's so fi Stadium in L. A that the Chargers and the Rams are playing out and that's open air. You can't you can't put a couple 10,000 people in there in an open air stadium safely. Yes, you can stop being dumb. Got to keep that fear up, man. I know. Speaking of which people have fun until after the election. We bought a morgue to make it sound scary, right? That's what it was. I mean, let's be honest here. Somebody got paid. Whoever the property owner was got paid for this for this building. It was purchased the federal tax dollars, Okay, but they did it because they wanted to continue with the fuel. We're going to need a building for all the bodies, we'll, you know, we'll guess what there's not a single body that's been stored. Inside the ST Paul building the state officials bought for a 5.5 million. It's a closet now they're using it as a closet. It's a storage facility. You've got anything you need stored since we paid for it way we should have access to. We should be able to store some stuff in there too. I got some extra hails of Cem Cem Cem, Base of Ale, Tales of faith based bales of hay bales of hay bales of hay. Did you started Putting in this more, sir? My name is not gonna be Basil Hale Hale. Like the article from Fox Night, even says that the building which Minnesota purchase with federal money that was supposed to be a morpher bodies of individuals that night of Koven, 19, has become a storage locker for for PP equipment and testing supplies. State officials have not ruled out using it as a morgue, but ruled way just need more people to die. Just need more dead body. If you know if enough people die will definitely use it as a morgue, But until then it's a closet for families or get the family's given an option. You know, we got this thing about here. Can I interest you in our fancy new morgue four months after Minnesota body A.

"Our next guest three three-time US. Open winner competed on five Ryder Cup team. Yeah. I I'm not sure about that. We'll ask him. I'm looking at every single year. And it says winner every single year that would be that's pretty nice time. Ryder Cup winning Hiller who had the greatest quote in the history of the Ryder Cup when talking about the war on the shore at keyword nineteen Ninety-one he was on the last hole with with Bernard longer, the quotas Sports Illustrated. This factor was high was tight. And so we are delighted to be joined by HALE HALE. Thanks for being with us this morning. Can you just for those of sports fans that aren't a huge golf fans are huge Ryder Cup fans. Explain how the pressure for the Ryder Cup is different than really anything else. A golfer will ever experience. It lies mostly in respect you have for your other team members of and the other side as well. Everybody playing has a high degree of pride there play very hard for the country's. They're playing very hard for the team. But most importantly, they don't let anybody down and when it comes down to looking around with whom you're playing and then who's the gallery to see why you see players you become part of an environment that is not normal against in the world of golf because it's such an individual endeavor. But now all of a sudden, you your individual endeavor counts toward the success of those other eleven men and a captive you're sharing the week of extraordinary, fun and enjoyment. So it just just different it only happens every two years. And so it's not something, that's usual. Hello. And joining us part of five teams, seventy five seventy seven seventy nine eighty one and ninety one all tie winning every single time. Hell how different is it from the golfers perspective out on the tour all all year? And we know this isn't a physical sport. Obviously as far as against one another. But how does it get amongst golfers in the Ryder Cup in your five teams? You were on was there any you know, any kind of serious interaction between golfers. It's serious in the sense that everybody's pulling on that that same rope to win of the thing that I always enjoyed so much was fifty one weeks of the year that you might be competing against these players. And you're all friends, you just one big happy family. Hopefully, I have family. This is the one week where you're really not pulling just for yourself. It's most of the time it's sort of a selfish game in the sense that you have one person that you're really looking out for and in this case, you're looking out and really pulling for those other players, and hopefully you want those guys to play at least as well. If not better than you. And it really kind of makes that environment unique. Well, listen, if it ever did get physical on the golf course Hiller when our three time major winner and five time Ryder Cup winner would be the guy to have people forget he was also an academic all American as a safety at the university of Colorado as well as a professional golfer. So hell be the guy you'd want in your corner. Every go fellow academic all American great to talk to your hairline. You mentioned this the difference. It not being a selfish endeavor. What kind of adjustment is that for you? As far as what you're going to do on. The course where we know the structure and the way some of this competition set up has you relying on other guys in a way that's just not up to par for the rest of the year. Sorry for the pun. I think it's it's important to realize that it's still you hitting the golf shot. Yes. You have a partner if it's in best ball, or if it's alternate-shot you have a partner, but at the same time, you're hitting that shot. No one else is out there. Francis football, you if you screw up a play, you have ten of the guys that might cover for you. You fall down on a pass coverage. You might have, you know, the free safety give over and cover for. You you missed the tackle. You might have the linebacker cover for you. But in in golf your vista shots. There's no one to cover for you. And that presents the the pressures because you you certainly don't want to put your partner or your yourself in a position that's going to have a negative effect on the result of the whole because this is just a a three day event. And those points are so precious. You lose a point. Now, you've got the winner back, and there's not that many matches which to do that. So it's not it's not something that you take lightly, and every player going in there knows that and swipe the pressures of the fun excitement and joining in those celebrations, and then those happy times that's why it's it's so unique. And so I find very stimulating listen. It's a unique pressure is Hayler. When is with us on that nineteen Ninety-one Ryder Cup. Mark Calcavecchia went onto win a British Open or actually already won the British Open at that point was four up on Colin Montgomerie with four to play lost the last four holes, and I scraped out of critical half a point. But they thought that point was in the bag, and then the pressure just engulfs, you sometimes so with that in mind hail. We haven't had a US team win on foreign soil since nineteen Ninety-three at the belfry on paper. Everyone's saying this is the most stack loaded team we've had in a long time. But listen, none of that really matters, especially if that crowd gets going quickly, how important do you think it is for this team to get off to a good start in the team events before we load up on singles. I think it's terribly important every day. Honestly, we we seem to get off to good starts. It's carrying that starts forward. That has been the issue. I think our players while they're very talented. Let's let's not discount that other team. There's a great deal of fried over there. And they have some something to prove. And if you want to say who's got the momentum going into last week's tour championship it looked like the some of the players on their British team or carrying the day. But in the end our players carried the day, and there's fell off. But then you look at the bottom of what happened in you saw kept. You saw a couple of other guys finish Mickelson. They were down last. That's the bottom of the heap. So we might have a little bit of split in the moment. We have some guys who are playing. Well, some guys that are not. However, what I do think we have is a good deal of experience. I can't speak to the other team. European team is very very good. They're they're solidified with. Royer and players like that. They've got a very talented team. So to say, we're on paper better would that's just what papers worth. I don't think anybody in the sports world, it looks the other side says, hey, you're better than me. And I'm giving up far from. But I think these guys are going to put up one heck of a fight. And it's going to be one extremely interesting week. I think Dan Hale Irwin joining us three time major winner. Five time. A Ryder Cup on five different teams all winners each one of those times and again, take us behind the scenes a little bit for for Jim Furyk, the captain of the team before we get to the singles play where we do have teammates. What goes into that? How do you decide who you believe is going to play well together? Mike comes down to who's who's comfortable with the other player. You can we can sort this out all different ways, you cut it slice and dice or however you want, but it really comes down to each player saying, yeah, I prefer played with other players. Maybe their games are not summer, but the personalities are they may have players wanna let's say kept and Dustin Johnson. They're good friends. They hit the ball long ways. Maybe they're very comfortable with that. If you put a shorter hitting player with a Brooks kept that might be a disadvantage in the sense of club selection where to play the ball. And then it really depends on whether it's a foursome or or or four ball. Meaning if you play alternate-shot where you wanna play guys that maybe a similar game. So used to play from the similar spots in the fairway you play best ball, you might put two guys. Is that have dissimilar games together? Because maybe they're good friends. It really is kind of a dynamic that I think Jim has to look at it and probably has visible every one of his players, and those players very well to figure out who they are most comfortable with and and bear in mind that you lose a whole you can't be Dell on your your teammate. You have to you have to pick them up, and and really try that much harder. They give you can't go beyond try too hard. So it's a it's a delicate formula think Jim is working with. But there's a lot of experience in gym. He's still competitive. And he he's been a lot of Ryder Cup teams. You knows what he's doing. And that chemistry is the biggest part of any captaincy going into the Ryder Cup. Halo and three-time US. Open champ. Five-time Ryder Cup winner. One is first US open it wing foot in seventy four and in nineteen ninety one of the great victory laps of all time at the us. Open became the oldest US open winner at the age of forty five. He'll always good to talk to you. Thanks for the insight on the Ryder Cup. We appreciate it. Thanks. How are you bet? Great talking to you guys. Take care. Got to be really interesting because just like in any sport, not everybody gets along with everyone else. Jim job to kind of figure out and even players I guess throwing in their own two cents about like to play this guy. Maybe not so much with this guy infamously or famously in two thousand four Hal Sutton paired fill and tiger together. And it was a disaster from start to finish. All right. Coming up. Do we have an NFC championship preview tonight? We'll break that down Mike after the for little straight talk. When a player does like a contract where do they do they hold out for a better deal?
