What's New at the Weekend Box Office?
"Tell us about something that people can go see. Well, you know, again, it's a very slow weekend here. It's a very slow weekend because everybody was getting out of the way on the one hand of Doctor Strange. Two weekends ago. And coming up next weekend, of course, is Top Gun: Maverick. Top ten maverick comes out Memorial Day weekend. That's kicking off everyone is very excited for that. But I think folks were also scared of that movie. So it's another, it's another slow weekend at the box office. I went and saw this is just it's not going to be a movie you're going to want to see. I'm going to just warn you off of it right now. I don't want to get the dreaded failure to warn, but there's movie out now called men, it's a horror film. Starring Jesse Buckley as a woman who is grieving. They've lost a husband. But grieving is the wrong word. Her husband is killed himself. He was abusive and she was going to divorce him and he threatened to kill himself and then he went through with it. And the whole movie is essentially, I didn't hate it exactly, but I was vaguely exasperated about it because it is what it feels like is sitting through an argument on Twitter where people talk about in the kind of broadest Twitter terms like the problems with men. What's wrong with men? That's basically the subtitle of this movie. Men. What's wrong with them?

How Alabama's Mike Rogers Made His Way to Congress
"Folks, I want you to welcome to the Doug Collins podcast, Mike Rogers, from Alabama Mike's good to see you, buddy. Thank you, Doug. We miss you, man. Well, I miss being there. A lot of late night Sessions and discussions and everything as we go. One of the things that I always like to talk about when we get started on the podcast is and from a perspective, everybody seems to know us, even if it's back in our districts and states, they know us from things like this. They see us on TV, they see us on, or hear us on radio, they do that. They don't really know like sort of how we got to where we are. So I want to use this moment before we get into the deeper stuff in Washington. Talk a little bit about how you got to Congress, sort of your background, why you wanted to do this in the first place. Well, I started young. I knew from as an adolescent and I wanted to be in Congress and I started to prepare myself for a career in public service. I. Prepared for law. I tell people that law is my vocation, politics is my career. But I prepared for a career in politics by getting an undergraduate degree in political science and master's degree in public administration in all degree. And then at 28, ran for the state for the county commission in my home county was the youngest person ever elected in the first Republican. Like a lot in the south, you know it is. There was the south is very conservative, but it was always historically Democrat until the last three decades. Ronald Reagan had a lot to do with change in that and in Barack Obama kind of kept it off. But many events, then I went from the county commission to the state legislature, was there a two terms served as minority leader in 2008, I ran for the 2002 I ran for the House. I've been here ever since.
N. Korea's low death count questioned amid COVID-19 outbreak
"North Korea says nearly 10% of its 26 million people have fallen ill and 65 people at least have died amid its first COVID-19 outbreak After admitting to an omicron outbreak following more than two years of claiming to be virus free the north says an unidentified fever has been explosively spreading across the country since late April its anti epidemic center has since released fever talus each morning but they don't include any COVID-19 figures some observers say the north must acknowledge the COVID-19 outbreak as it can't hide the highly contagious viral spread and their authorities are under reporting mortality to try to show that its pandemic response is effective while the country lacks test kits to confirm positives I'm Charles De
Hunter Biden Reportedly Earned $11M From Foreign Business Deals
"NBC. Analysis of Hunter Biden's hard drive proves $11 million in payments from China. And what are those two stories have to do with one another? You're trying to tell me that NBC would send a bunch of reporters to look through Hunter Biden's laptop to create a negative headline. If Democrats were doing super well right now, remember the entire probe criminally into Hunter Biden is nakedly political for the sole and intended purpose and fact to try to make Joe Biden removable. Now Joe Biden does have an insurance policy. Joe Biden's handlers were very smart in one way. You might say Charlie, what is that insurance policy? The insurance policy is not like the Peter struck stroke smirk or the Lisa page lover from the FBI. None of the insurance policy is that they decided to pick an even more unpopular person to become vice president. Which is if the regime wants to remove Joe Biden assail boy, we got to deal with the that's not good. The Biden team realized that the only thing less popular than Joe Biden. So they got a decision to make, they say, well, at least we can control Biden because hunter did crimes all across the world. NBC News, Hunter Biden's hard drive shows he his firm earned $11 million from 2013 to 2018. This is a common technique that is executed by deep state Democrats against politicians they don't like. Andrew Cuomo fell victim to this, Jesse Jackson junior fell coma to this. Fell victim to this. Rod Blagojevich fell victim to this. It is a common technique, which is to use all of the previously rumored criminal activity of a Democrat, bring it to the surface to try to get that Democrat to heal or to foose. Dog term I used yesterday to obey, and if they become politically un useful, which we just are showing their Joe Biden is so unpopular, you have a means of removing him or a means of making sure that he does not run for office.

Prof. Nicholas Giordano on the Patriot Act and Your Loss of Freedom
"As promised, Nick jordano, professor Nicholas jordano is my guest. He's a Professor of political science at Suffolk community college, a native New Yorker. I love it. I'm also a native New Yorker. But I had a sojourn in Connecticut where I lost the accent. So I apologize. You're a Professor of political science who has been talking about a lot of the stuff that I talk about on this program, which is to say the growth of government bureaucracy and the growth of government at the expense of freedom. So how did you, how did you get to that place? Were you raised in such a way that this was on your radar? Did this come to you as you did your studies? Well, I'm a student of history and the founding fathers made it clear that we want to limited government. We want a small government because governments continually grow expand abuse their power. And so we have to hold government accountable. And then what I saw with the Patriot Act, beginning to unfold, that's what concerned me because I was in Homeland Security. When you say the Patriot Act, talk about what year was the Patriot Act. Shortly after 9 11. So normally it takes about two years to get pieces of legislation through most pieces of legislation never see the light of day. But the Patriot Act passed within two weeks. And it was an encompassing bill that really changed the dynamics of the national security framework of the United States. And people said, well, if you don't support it, then you must be doing something wrong. And many conservatives. You're with that. You're with the terrorists. Correct.
We're Living in a Crazy Time of Free Speech Policing
"We've had such a crazy time in terms of the policing of speech, courtesy of these big tech companies, and it's frustrating. Especially to me, certainly because look, I've been a journalist for 20 some odd years. I have worked for the world's biggest news organizations. I have won many awards from my reporting. And yet, occasionally, I'll do something really crazy. Like, I don't know, a video. On the yield of the ten year bond and I'll get a note back from YouTube owned by Google saying, this is insensitive content. Again, wait a second. I've been a reporter for a long time. Believe me, I know what sensitive or insensitive content is and talking about bond yields, on ten year note, no, no, no. I don't think so. But this is the world in which we live, and which conservatives are unfairly penalized. And yet the garbage that they send to our kids, I've seen it. I've seen it myself. I have three kids. And you know what? I took their computers away. Now we have one computer in the kitchen. They're not allowed to have the YouTube accounts anymore because I've seen what gets thrown to our children and it's total
Where Does Eric Like to Vacation?
"Next question. Question, two. Vacation time, cabin in the Woods, house on the beach, cruise ship, or sensory deprivation tank. Okay, I would rather die than go on a cruise ship. So let's just say that for starters, cabin in the Woods, house on the beach. House on the beach definitely Suzanne and I love the beach and we spend many parts of many summers in the Hamptons and stuff. But there's something and also on the Jersey Shore. Something about the beach, which appeals to us. And how nice that I married a woman who actually hears the funny thing. Suzanne, this is why marriage can be so great. Suzanne really trained me to understand the beach to say why the beach is great because I didn't used to do the beach until we got married. And she's like, we got to do the beach right. You got the chairs. You get on the umbrella. I didn't get that. I was just like an idiot. I'd wander down like with a towel and be like, why am I here? Suzanne helped me to understand it. So it's because of Suzanne really that I'm a beach guy.

Suspense. In the nineteen eighties that was a renaissance for horror films you had, you didn't have the ads sequels developing and and remakes were kind of Not, there. So the Directors and writers were were creating new movies you looking at you know they're doing something different I mean lost boys. The howling I mean. Pumpkin head yes I mean yeah and then returning living dead I mean it's just you have all these different movies such a renaissance in. You'll never see that again in Hollywood I bet not it's just A shame? Had wrong every last drop of blood out of the slasher crazed and they had said we have break some new ground. And boy did they and it just came out of nowhere and there are some great stuff in there. So. Why the seventies and eighties they'll be the best for horror agreeing I agree. Yeah. I see you have. You have you okay rob. This is this is cool. Because universal monsters which who I love I love my classics which you guys discussed some of them. We kind of they had their Frankenstein's and Dracula's Wolf Man's and I wrote an article way back in the ninety S. About and I'm sure this has been covered in talked about by other people as well. How are Frankenstein's and irregulars were Jason Freddie Michael. And they did. We see the Hollywood did the same thing. Then they started realizing okay. We've beaten this franchise death. Let's start comparing them and have the flight or being in. So yeah, it's it's Kinda. The two best eras kind of mimic each other and we got to see both true. Yeah that's true. I don't know how it's ever going to happen again but. The like horror films when new horror films came out in the eighties, it was like a big event. It was like almost as big as Batman came out you know. I remember standing in line with people that go see. Different horror. Films. that recreate warriors? Yeah. It was just like, wow, you don't get that anymore. You know it was just this whole allegiance It was like horror films were like the Marvel Films of today. I would agree with that it was hard. It was. Just thank the event and I miss that, and that was what was cool about star wars is that it was a big event you can go with your friends and they were all into it and. Went to a horror film in a theater. People were were having a great time in it made him even better. Disrupting people they were not there tongs they weren't. "Both of them got get into it. They start breaking down the numbers. And there's no definitive answer for this because you end up having to you're talking about an entire planets for the atmosphere and you know and then the the interplay between the entire botanical world in the entire animal world and other factors as well Basically the big take home is that of course ultimately we would die die they would be. It would be catastrophic That's that much for certain. I mean the basic school grade explanation still applies animals breathe oxygen and exhale. Co Two plans need the Co two and produce oxygen. We're in balance. All of us in humans. Do not have a private privileged status in all of this according to UCSB if all the plants went away magically they're gone it wouldn't be any UNTOO oxygen on Earth. We'd still have atmospheres worth of oxygen. And that's roughly two quintillo pounds of oxygen remaining. No sounds like plenty. Of course. It's not just US right there. All those animals they needed to so to simplify it. Okay let's go and kill off all the animals because it's not expressly stated in silent running but we might imagine that most of them are all animals Oregon as well wind right okay so if all the animals were gone as well that would leave the human species with one thousand and fourteen years worth of oxygen. Okay that's one. Take on it but they also break it down so that we might be looking at more like one thousand two hundred years of breathable oxygen. But then the increase in co two would elevate global. Temperatures and other concerns would also probably bring this down even further and we'd be talking more like one to four centuries of breathable oxygen. Okay now another take is that. We'd have several thousands of years worth of breathable oxygen because the vast pools of oxygen in the atmosphere the origins of which stem from microorganisms. To begin with plus there would be reserves of oxygen locked UP IN H. Two O. And in carbon dioxide that we can conceivably you know Breakdown using our technology certainly beyond technology to send for us into orbit. Then maybe they also have the technology You know if the to do some widespread breaking down of ocean waters into breathable atmosphere. Okay but another huge issue. A huge issue is that without plants the entire Food Pyramid essentially collapses right. What would anything eat? Yeah so A. I would sure hope that those disgusting food food cubes.

"He's that beauty guy there. Of course. Yes, he had a which we talked about his tour that was selling well, he cancelled the tour because he claimed he didn't have enough time to prepare for it, and make sure that it was a good experience for his man's, which I act, and it's going to lose him a lot of money because he has to then now out of his own pocket paid back the service charges that the ticketing people were charging the fans sure that the fans get a full refund. But I think that's really smart of him because had he put on a shit show that could have been really damaging to his career. So I think that was smart of him a little update their there was more drama with Constance Wu. She's now, just tainted forever. It feels like not forever. I'm sure eventually, this will go away, but she really put her foot in it with all of her drama with fresh off the boat. Now it seems like a lot of media are out to get her. And not even media. Just people the latest, with conscious. Blue is apparently while stay in New York City to film, this new movie with jaylo about strippers that Cardi B is also in, she left the place, real dirty and trashed it and had a pet bunny, which would who everywhere around like that to the like, I don't even know if I believe it, but I do believe that people are now out to get her. There is a lot of drama with Moby. Did you catch any of that? I did. I think this is a really interesting story, actually, I do too, but I don't quite understand how or why ended where did. So, before we get to the resolution a little back story Moby like Lamar Odom has a new tell all book out, you know, and in this book, he's talking about his life, and in the book he talks about previous relationships. He's had. He also went out on one date with. A lot of del Rey before she was faded, and he talks about having a full on relationship with Natalie Portman it didn't last very long a few months, but she was really young either eighteen or nineteen and he was a lot older than her. I forget exactly how old he was. But I think either late twenties or early thirties somewhere around there. And then in a surprising move, Natalie Portman denied ever dating him saying that she was just a fan and he was a creepy old men. Then, you know I loved it because for a while it was giving me life, a little bit of the back and forth. Then he denied it and said that no they really did day. And then he doubled down even more and released photos that he had which really, you know, the photos proved nothing the photos just proved they were photographs together. Right. So it's just a case of who you're gonna believe, or you're gonna believe Moby, or you're going to believe Natalie Portman. I think the truth is somewhere in the middle. I think that maybe she didn't realize, maybe she thought she was friends with Moby, and maybe Moby thought that there was some sort of romantic thing happening. And maybe there was maybe they kissed. Maybe they went even further than that. And she didn't think that much about it. I don't know. I wasn't there. But I think the truth usually is somewhere in the middle the place where we're at now is Moby was supposed to do a big book tour..

Let me know if you guys think they should cancel the show. Four four missing something here we may be. As we don't watch the show thankfully, I don't think anybody else does either. Well, big ING of shows that people don't watch, but it's still on the air. The Kardashians show. We've heard a lot more from Lamar Odom, with his book that he's releasing, and I can say this, because it's just my opinion I've starting to think, 'cause I've read, so many excerpts from the book, I think this dude made up a lot of shit in his book. I am seriously doubting almost everything. He's saying, and what really made that light bulb go off in my head was when he said about his infamous overdose at the Nevada brothel. He claims that the guy who used to own it. Dennis Hof drugged him that it was his fault in the he tried to murder him. First of all, Dennis Hof is dead still by saying that in the book, he's not breaking any law because he's not he can't defame a dead per. Person. And Secondly, if you were a major drug addict beforehand, you probably don't remember all the details, you could have hallucinated the guy gave you dress like one incentive. What reason would that guy he could have lost everything? And he could have lost his license. He could have lost. Look. He the guy's admitted addict, and what do we know about addicts? The Myers through Myers period. That's it guys dead. No one is taking any of this as fact I can't even imagine someone's reading this who could care who would possibly care. Who cares what he writes, who cares, if it's fiction or nonfiction? It's all bullshit because why he's an addict, and addicts are what their lives. Luckily, for him, he's gotten a ton of big press opportunities to promote it people want to hear about the Kardashians, people are willing to book you. So they'll get the, you know, the deferred light. And that's What what. he's getting from the Kardashians, people just want to hear just a little inside scoop because they know that's web hits and that's money my gut. He even claimed that khloe Kardashian beat up a stripper when she barged into a room and found a stripper with him in a hotel room. Do I really think khloe, courtesy is going to beat up a stripper? "There was drama that went down at first they were trying to spin it like he just went to pursue other opportunities. But if y'all miss this, he was announced to come back for another season, and then it was announced he's not coming back. So he pulled the constants. Woo, basically. There was a lot of drama behind the scenes that we've now heard where he just like one of the, the final straw that broke the camel's back as they say, on both sides, they had asked the coaches to fly to New York on mother's day to the next day, perform, and be a part of NBC's upfront. And he was just such a diva about it and unhappy and didn't wanna do it even though they were paying him twenty six million dollars a year. He gave such a bad performance, and was so checked out, it was so just unsavory that the head of NBC entertainment tried to fire him then, but didn't and thankfully, he quit for everybody's sake because it was not working. I think the guy's a little tired. He's a rockstar, and I don't think he ever expected this show to send him into the next level of stardom the way that it has. And I think it's a lot of work, and I think the guys. Still rock star. He wants to go out on the road, and he wants to make music. And I gotta think that's a very demanding job. So I think at some point, he says, when is enough money enough. He's got property and dull and a new family. I get it after so many seasons. And there's barely any time off from the show. It's very demanding. So I get why he did it. But I disagree with one thing you said at the top Gwen Stafani is not gonna help that show that show is Adam LeVine. It's Adam LeVine and Blake Shelton. It is absolutely their chemistry that people tune in for, I mean, those two are a comedy duo together. I think the show is gonna take a massive hit. I mess. I doubt it. Okay. Fucking Chrissy Teigen gets a judge show with her mother as her bailiff and doing what I've been pitching. In more reality TV mirrors. This is such a mess. And I don't watch the show, but I love messes that Honey, boo. Boo. And her mother of mama, June this woman, according to the family, addicted to meth, they've released the in the most recent show, she was fainting. She had to be taken to the hospital, her teeth were falling out, really. They staged an intervention and she refused help. And we've since learned that she's still not getting the help that she clearly means and not only that her daughter mama June's child. Honey, boo. Boo is living with her teenage like nineteen year old sister, because the mom is off with her pedophile boyfriend doing God knows what in another state. So my question to you and to our listeners. Is way TV which broadcast this mess. I think they need to cancel the show. I think there's no way that can bring that show back for another season. Do you disagree with me? Or do you agree with me? Well, the wildcard is how much of it is an act. I don't think it's an actually was arrested. They found meth on her. They seem to be enabled us. Yeah. She dies who they gonna blame. I don't even think that there should have given her a TV show in the first place, who the hell is still watching that, by the way, that's a better question Jesus..

"It's just nudity, and it's, it's got its her Bubis who cares shake cared. She deleted her social media. She did that for a tension man. And she's planning to, to. Good luck my one of my friends. What am I best deeds who listens to the podcast shout out to, you know who said that Iggy should join love and hip hop? And I said, no, that's the wrong look for her. She needs to join real housewives of Beverly Hills. Yeah. Because well, I don't want to speak for them. I'm not a person of color, a not a black American, but I would imagine that no matter how much she tries black people won't fuck with her. She needs a wider, and gayer audience, which is the one that watches housewives. Yeah. Anyways segue out of music, and onto my favorite topic in the world to discuss sports. Are we going to talk about Drake? I've got my whole two cents on. All right. Leonard rip. Let's go Drake. He's just a superfan. Okay. And luckily for him. His number one team made it to the NBA finals and he's been at every game Booker, and I were texting about this privately I even mentioned to him that there was one video of Drake literally calling this player. Draymond green look. Dammit, Draymond green trash. He literally said your trash, and then Booker was like, well, that's why they call it trash talk. But, but listen, trash talk and I'm clearly not the sports aficionado, but to meet trash talk goes two ways from player to player and then from Fanta fan, you don't think it's appropriate to boost somewhat on stage. If you paid money to go see them, see difference. We have a difference of opinion on this one. I think if you pay could do whatever you want trash talking is just that that is acceptable trash talking, that's not talk at Holly trash talking about his game. His game is trash is what he saying. But that's just trash talk that's acceptable. I don't like it. Well, I know you don't dream on green himself would tell you. That's acceptable. I think it's acceptable for the players to trash talk each other and for the fans. To trash talk each other. But I don't think it's okay for a spectator to talk that way to somebody that's playing. That's entertaining. You Drake needs to, like slow his role. I mean even the NBA asked him to slow his role and he's not stopping. Look, they created this monster. He has a locker inside of the damn raptors locker room. Okay. So they've created this with him they've given him all this access, and now they want him to bring it back a little bit. But it's good for the NBA. I think the players think it's cool. The Drake is there Drake likes the access. The trash talk is just that it's not over the line here. The funny thing to me is a guy that makes such great music comes off as such a dork. He just seems like such a Dushi dork. No, he's still that guy from grassy. He's just Dushi. There's no other way to say it like I kinda cringe watching his behavior. It's I get it. You're, you're a fan and you know the guys but it just seems.

"The best for Britney and this, and then the other. But the motherfucker most likely leaked that and got paid for it an aide to make money off of her and be to hurt her to me that was a clear attempt at hurting the conservative ship, which I think the conservatives ship doesn't hurt her. We dabbled this, right? He wants to hurt the conservative ship. He wants to hurt Britney. He wants to make money off of her. And I don't think even though a lot of people do, and I would call an call in eight hundred what's African number eight hundred seven two one one eight five. That's it. Okay. Call in and let me know if I miss reading, this, but I don't think what Brittany allegedly said, ten years ago has any bearing on two thousand nineteen. Right. You know, look the guy's a used car salesman. Look at him anything that comes out any report that sliding out that has to do with her past affairs or things that she has said, I think we know where it's coming from. I think your assumption is pretty safe. I once again, I don't know either. I have no idea. We're not getting. Yeah, this person doesn't seem to have her best interests in mind, because if this person did it'd be silence radio. Silence nothing. You're not in, in the Brittany business anymore. Nothing should be coming out, but yet stuff keeps coming out like he's just trying to keep the ball rolling. I bet he's getting paid by a lot of people to be right. You may be right. And by the way, whomever's giving him money you're a scumbag to I was going to say, we don't know how she really is right now, but it does seem that she's a little bit better or at least working getting better. And that's at somebody who himself has been through hard times. That's all you can do is that you can just work on it in his better than than not trying to get better or giving up. And she and her boyfriend posted a photo of them going on a bike ride, and the freaky. Britney loons were saying that photo was Photoshop they're like that photo of them on the bikes, the background doesn't look real. Unlike you all are starting to come off Razi now. Okay. The crazy ones are you if they would just focus their energy on something positive for the world. Like, I don't know cleaning up the ocean. So the environment or I don't anything imagine what a planet at this would be. But she got people wasting time on things like this. It's great. Well, speaking of Britney, her contemporary, that's the word I was gonna say nemesis, but I don't think they were misses her contemporary, her her very specific peer, Christina Aguilera debuted, her new Vegas residency over the weekend. Did you watch any videos? I watched Demi Levato cry. That's what I love that I love that. She was there. I love it. She cried, you know, the big fan of Ecksteen, and they even did a song together. Get all know Christina Aguilera, and I have our past, and I don't just say this. I truly believe it. Okay. I think that while being opinionated I can still take any of my pass out of the equation, or any hurt feelings, or this, or that or the other. I watched a I practically watched the entire Christina's show in video form. I was not there and I was so impressed. I allow it a I'm getting trouble. Now, I also watched just the same amount of video from Janet Jackson's new Vegas, residency which also just started recently, and that one I was very underwhelmed by Christina put on at arena level show..

I, I got a new power washer. I washed all of my cars, I watched a new show. It's on demand. It's called Molly. Would I stumbled upon it? It's about like EDM drug culture. Walk Affleck, aflame remember, walk like aflame. He's an actor now. Yeah. He's an actor. It's about the serial killer who possesses a drug dealer. So I discovered that in a bad way, like great really. Yeah. It's good. It's really good. So that's one of the check out what else did they do? I had oh I got a pizza maker. So I got a pizza oven and I learned how to make homemade pizza this week at which is a pain in the ass by God. And that's really it. That's my weekend. What about you? Awesome. I had such damn exhausting weekend. Usually people recharge on the weekends but not me because I'm plagued by guilt, and trying to be the best dad possible. So, and I'm also really focused on taking up my fitness and being healthy. So I took a spin class on Saturday. I did a lot of work, and I took my kids your girlfriend slash fiance to be might really enjoy this it in downtown LA. It's called wiz dome. Okay, like wisdom, but with dome if these five domes and inside they have really cool art, not just paintings, but video are an. Per sections on this on the other dome. That's on. And they also have cool hippy dippy experiences like yoga or sound baths or meditation. There's many other and my kids at first were frightened and then they loved it, and then Sunday, we went to this Nickelodeon event, which was really cool to go to their new campus jet never been to the fore and saw some patrol, extra special episode. They had face painting, and they did the gave him some toys. Thank you, Nickelodeon for having us, and I am beat in debt and tired. But genuinely listen, we resisted it for a long time. But I'm genuinely really happy to be here to be present to be focused to do this show for you all. And then to do it again a second time this week. And I like our, our listeners have impeccable taste and are the best listenership. We, we've gotten a lot of teenage listeners. Thank you. Let's all right now, come to start off by doing one of the things I love most in the world outside of being a dad and masturbating. That would be being right. Usually It is it. it do you want? I know you well or what? I forget how many weeks ago, but I, I had these powers, I shut up and tell us what you're right about, and I don't know. I really do believe I have, you know, like ESP like some. Into it. I can sense, things I told y'all Cardi B was gonna have complications. We're worried about her and her performing after having the lifeboat it was giving you exiling watching her I if she hurt herself..
