You got Bill Maher, the entrepreneur that ramaswami, who we interviewed last week and the former Democrat candidate Marianne Williamson, I want you to hear this segment from HBO's real time with Bill Maher. The beautiful thing about a democracy is that so far, thank God this has been a peaceful set of protests. I hope it stays that way. That's part of the messiness of democracy. It's part of what makes it beautiful. You're all ready for that one. I've been watching. I agree that democracy is messy. And that's the price you pay in a way for free society. As long as we're going to honor free expression, protest is important, but also protest is inherently disruptive. So the line we have to find for ourselves is where does disruption become harm? These people have spoken, they have expressed themselves. They have a lot of passion behind their message, obviously. And what the Canadian government and any government has to then balance is at what point does this now move over into more than your grievances, but the grievances of people such as workers in Detroit and elsewhere who are finding economic harm because of these protests. I think it's interesting. And why truckers? And I thought, you know, like during the pandemic, you know, I talked about this many times. You know, we would see these Ed rolling it together and I think, no, we're not. No we're not. Some people who stay home and some people who bring them the food. "But what's happening right now is that they do something called the consensus Have you heard this word the scientific consensus says So for example you can't debate certain things because they go well the scientific consensus has concluded therefore you are not allowed to object to that consensus now equals law And scary the Democrat party today the same party that was once about free love and free information and stopping war and getting the man off my back they were all in now on the government using its power to restrict false information online Even if it limits freedom of information Tech companies should take steps to restrict false information online This is another question that was asked of them Should tech companies take steps to restrict information online If you remember yesterday Jen Psaki she came out and she said well we're very happy that Spotify is putting warnings on Joe Rogan's podcast but we want them to do more That's right See The White House won't be happy until tech companies ban information that disagrees with the scientific quote unquote consensus They don't want competing ideas They don't want debate Remember it's not enough for somebody to have on a pro vac's person on Monday an anti vax person on Tuesday And again I think these are wild accusations anyway to say somebody's anti vaccine But that's what they say And then on Wednesday have somebody from Pfizer on And then on Thursday have somebody on who disagrees with the Pfizer guy No you see that's what they don't want They don't want the Thursday guest They don't want the Tuesday guest They only want the guests who put out what the scientific consensus says They mean that That's what they mean That's why they won't stop Until they get their

Unvaccinated People Are Hogging All the Hospital Beds

"Was really impacted by a rachel maddow monologue last night on msnbc. I'm not gonna play the whole thing for you. I'm just gonna quote from what she said she said people say getting vaccinated or not is a personal decision as if it only affects you. She's here that a lot explicitly particularly unconservative media and from conservative politicians. It's a personal decision. It only affects you. She said well it's not in her view. It's not a personal decision because it results in people dying overwhelmed hospitals now her little twist on it is very clever. she's not worried about the unvaccinated who are dying. She's claiming that the unvaccinated dying patients are overwhelming the hospitals and then keeping i guess vaccinated people from getting proper care and treatment which is a real interesting twist on this because i keep asking myself are these people on the left really worried about unvaccinated americans. Let's face it. And this is a strategic that is hard to ignore. I'm sorry if you're getting mad at me for saying this guanaco part of the deep state when call me part of the vacs crowd or whatever you wanna call me. I have argued from day. One this is a personal decision that you get to make you get to make this decision whether to get vaccinated or not. Most of the people dying are unvaccinated. That's just a fact. Show when rachel maddow and when democrat politicians rant and rave about the hospitals overwhelmed the hospitals are being overwhelmed unvaccinated americans.

"Vox dot com. Vox yet. Vox dot com. Writes this article going after nikki. Manashe the title is nicki. Minaj is an anti vacs. Exactly that's why her vaccine resistance is so concerned and i just this might be a typo might be a typo but in this article they show how silly their arguments so i'm going to read this paragraph just to spell it out known side effects talking about nikki manashian cousins friend who got issues impotency issues. Just the spell it out known. Side effects of the cova nineteen vaccine. Do not include testicle swelling. Although unfounded concerns about the vaccine and female fertility have circulated. Now just want to say we receive thousands and thousands of messages of young ladies. That are having major issues after getting the vaccine. That's all. I have to say without more context about montages cousins friend illness. It's impossible to know more but it's highly unlikely his situations anything to do with cove in nineteen who said anything cove in nineteen. Do see how they do that. They're in the article. No we're talking with the vaccine cove. Nineteen so the article says well it's not at its side effect of covert not saying that we're saying. Is it a side effect of this vaccine and by the way. Sex Researcher Justin Lehmiller: Americans Got Kinkier During the Pandemic

"This pandemic has been an interesting. I'm going to be a sex researcher. And i've been busier than ever and conducting the most research and actually i think published the most of my entire career over the last year and a half really in the beginning. My career totally changed. Because i had all of these speaking gigs lined up. I was gonna be traveling. The world i think it was going to be in seven different countries last summer in so oldest found myself with a lot of time on my hands and i was talking to some by colleagues at the kinsey institute. And we were seeing all these media headlines about you know what was going to be happening to a sex. Lots of big bold predictions and so we thought is is any of that actually gonna shake out so we wanted to actually collect the data to test whether what we were seeing in the media was actually coming to wish you know that kind of gave us the inspiration and all had more time on her hands and needed something to focus on so he turned to sexy search. And i remember yes justin's doing this. What did we learn about this with the hot vac summer. What's up now. So that's a great question you know last year. There were lots of predictions about. Oh well when this pandemic cabins and people are locked down. They're going to have more sex masturbate more than ever. Because everyone's just going to be bored horny and it turned out last year. That didn't really turn out to be the case you know there. There's no baby boom. There's no evidence that you know people really having a lot of sex. So that's what we found last year in the research. We did at the kinsey institute. Although we did find that people were being more sexually Mental about one in five people last year said they tried something new in the bedroom so we recently conducted a new. Study to see what things look like this summer because everyone was talking about the hot back summer. So the kinsey institute partnered with love honey to do this survey of what what is happening right now in our sex lives and relationships and one of the really interesting things we found was that there was an even greater trend toward sexual experimentation so americans have become kinky are we actually found that a majority of americans fifty one fifty two percent so they tried something new in bed since the pandemic began and also that a majority of americans said that their sexual interests had shifted in some way. And if those who reported a shift three quarters of them said that they became kinky so you know instead of the hardback summer. We're thinking of this as the hut kinks

"I had another knock down drag out today with a good friend of mine about vaccine mandates. And i'm gonna have fun playing the sport because governor christie gnome is getting a ton of feedback right now and that an pushback because she basically said. If you don't like the vaccine mandate that might be in your employers wheelhouse. Go get a job somewhere else. In south dakota that was sort of the takeaway south dakota republican governor christie gnome faced backlash over the weekend. Saying essentially if you didn't want to be mandated by the state or by the employer rather take vaccine hidden. Find another job somewhere just to stop that in big deal. Just go get another job. You might have been somewhere for thirty years but you know what if your employer says you better have a vaccine in order to work here. Go get another vacs. Go get another job. Wow and i've got a good rock solid conservative friend mark davis in dallas. Who doesn't think there's anything wrong with that whatsoever. Doesn't think there's anything wrong with that whatsoever. It was sort of based on you know, with with the idea that petty those air closing, and a lot of you know, we keep every day we keep getting more new information on the safety of eating indoors or being indoors in general and I was just getting a lot of feedback from people talking about their levels of comfort, So I just started reaching out first social media on then in, you know, on the phone conversations with the number of people on the country just on there. Talk about eating out and it really varied. You know, some people are comfortable or semi comfortable. Um, some people see no risk in dining indoors, and then I would say really healthy part of the country is worried about it. And so it just kind of Put it all in context and tried. And you know doing do we need to save restaurants that part of our responsibility As the restaurant industry is sort of dying on the vine? Do we? Should we feel like it's our responsibility to save this district? That was an interesting point that that one person made she was sort of feeling the pressure of feeling like I was part of her role to save restaurants didn't like it. Yeah, totally. And you know who can't feel that a little bit? You know there. You know, we didn't go into really hard core locked down like some other countries and B, you know there. There's fighting now among representatives of Congress on stimulus, which could help the restaurant industry kind of get over this hump. Because the winter is going to be really tough on restaurant industry. They sort of survived many of them on on patio dying because a lot of cities helped expand patio dining there. They went into street. They permitted sidewalks, so they were able to get more revenue with this. And in many cities in Tripoli in colder climates, they're not going to be able to do that. "There. Welcome to Tech stuff. I'm your host, Jonathan Strickland. I'm an executive producer of health stuff works, my love all things Tech and recently. Randall Charles Tucker, who once proclaimed himself to be the Bitcoin Baron was sentenced to a 20 month prison term and find more than $69,000 for launching distributed denial of service, or de DOS attacks against municipal websites, which not only affected normal city operations but also emergency response systems. So today we're going to take a look at DDOS attacks and their history. And in our next episode, I will go into more detail about the different kinds of DDOS attacks out there and the security measures administrators deployed to mitigate their impact because this is An ongoing important story. We've heard a lot about DDOS attacks in recent years. There was one that affected some apartment buildings over in northern Europe and had them shut down the The H Vac Systems during the coldest days of the year, so people no longer had the heat. This is a serious thing. So what the heck is a DDOs attack? Well, it helps to break this down by looking at what denial of service means. And generally speaking denial of service refers to using tactics that prevent or discourage people from using something online they otherwise would use. If there were no outside interference, which is a pretty broad definition. It can cover lots of stuff and not just stuff that involves hacking or inserting some militias code or sending commands over the Internet. A denial of service attack by itself also does not necessarily aimed to steal information or spy on anyone or anything like that, although it can certainly a company those types of attacks as well. So there are a lot of instances where the denial of service attack is just part of an overall attacker strategy. Or an attacker might use the threat of a denial of service attack to extort money from a potential target, essentially saying, pay up or we're going to shut you down. Often, Attackers will demonstrate their capabilities with a small scale attack to accompany their demands to show they mean business. So in other words, They might actually launch a small attack. Bring down a service temporarily and say that was just a a taste of what could happen if you don't cough up the dough. But as I said, denying service, all by itself can be the full motive, and it doesn't have to require code or scripts or overwhelming Internet infrastructure. So, for example, let's say I'm looking online for a forum to talk about one of my interests, and for this example, we'll just say it's musical theater because I love musicals, and I would love to go online and chat with other fans of musicals. I find a forum. It's great there, tons of other enthusiastic fans. Maybe there's some performers and there's well. We have threads, discussing shows and writers and inspiring performances. Maybe some embarrassing missteps, personal stories from our own performances or the times we've attended, plays all the stuff you would typically find on a forum about any given sort of interest. But then something frustrating starts toe happen. The forum gets invaded by one or more troublemakers. These people disrupt conversations just for fun. They might hurl insults at people, which isn't exactly subtle or clever, but it can be an effective tactic. Or they might be more insidious and post inflammatory messages that air couched. In seemingly reasonable language, which gives the troublemaker kind of out right, like all I'm so sorry you're offended all I was trying to do with, say, such and such, you know, they never say anything blatantly awful. They just implied it or they danced around it quite a bit. But Ultimately they get what they want, which is to disrupt the conversation and turn the attention toward themselves. We tend to call these folks trolls and the original reason for that is back in the old newsgroup days. They were said to be fishing for hits or trolling as it were trolling in the sense of drawing a baited line through the water to lure fish. These trolls were trying to get a rise out of people and derail conversations, mostly just for laughs. I've done episodes about trolls before, so I'm going to leave it at that. But trolling is a type of denial of service. It disrupts the activity that was supposed to happen on that site. It discourages people from participating. It denies them that opportunity, and there was no code needed to do it. But in the case I mentioned just now trolls were mostly looking to get a rise out of people. They found humor and upsetting the apple cart. They might not have any goals beyond just being a new sense and exerting some small amount of power over people. Maybe they belonged to a different forum. And there's a rivalry between the two but There's some people who, just as as you might hear in Batman want to watch the world burn. But denial of service can't have far more serious effects than just inconveniencing.

Preliminary data from 35,000 Corona virus patients who received plasma from people who had recovered from Cove in 19 produced signals of efficacy, meaning it may have produced the desired results. "It doesn't make any sense are the walls And then the little the little idiot pops the ceiling tile up on the aliens crawling at them. Incredible shot. Such a good shot. Yeah, great shot, And so from there and on movies Great. I don't have any things to say at all that last hours phenomenal. I really love immediately after that to where they're running through the H Vac unit, and they're trying to escape the aliens like that's a great shot. Where, like a kind of claustrophobic. You can't quite get away. It's a great little chase. But then again, they inject new into the story where they shouldn't have She falls for that spinning wheel and you're like, Come on, man. What I will say my real final thought about this movie is Paul Reiser's character, which I will screw up to the name here. It's mad about you. Aah! Burke Burke is one of its like corporal album is Number one with a bullet. Might be number two. This guy sticks very maddening in a good way he does. He does play it well to me. It's a plus cinema, really from that 1 15 on and then like it really kicks into high gear where her and Newt are stuck in that room, and they can't get out. And rising right off the screen so people can't look. She lights the fire to get everybody in there. They do the sweet military role in there. This face hungers all over the place. Awesome. Yeah, it's so good scenes. There's some great scenes. You get the in the 1st 40 minutes. Suck just a visual of the aliens crawling in the ceiling, too. An incredible shot. Constant stuff wrote there and like I said earlier, the movie does a great job of known when they kill off characters just like in that. First I am buys that Vasquez and Bill Paxton's character makes his great game on man get and by the way, I really do think is good. As is Weaver's is Ripley. Bill Paxton is incredible in this movie once again. Ripley going down the hallway, finding the tracker and then stumbling into the nest. And then she sets the eggs of flame and just starts ripping all the aliens in that room. So once again, Mac, I give this 38 hot dogs. I see an end of it. I come in at 34 I no longer loved this movie. "Adapting to New new ways that we've never used our home before. Absolutely. But we're also here for you. There is on a homeowner at once. Your plate. 7674348 That's one trip late, rosy for you just like Brandon and Tempe. Welcome to the program. Hey, how's it going? Good. Say yes. So I just had a question on our cooling bill this summer, So we live in a rent a 1500 square foot home. Had an older home may be in a daze believe the H Vac unit is maybe 10 15 years old. You know, we're running at about 13 to $15 a day to get our our house down. Maybe 75 overnight if we're lucky. I gotta believe there's something else that we can do here. Yeah, that's pretty brutal. On on a 1500 square foot rental on a 20 year old air conditioning system. You're you're burning through what looks like to me. Gosh, north north of 222,500 K. W. I have to imagine the house's insulated very well. It's probably single pane windows. I don't know that you're going to be able to do much given it's a rental home are u S, R P E or A P S. Yes, we're S r P And we're on like the empower plan where you kind of pre pay. You know, I heard you talking about the super cooling, So I talked to them about that. And you can't really get on the time of day usage and also be on the prepaid plan, right? Right and a rental home. That maybe isn't insulated real Well, Is it a good candidate for super cool because it doesn't have the capacity to hold. The thermal energy. Um, I'm I'm I'm afraid, Brandon. Other than, um, That in a real home. There just isn't a lot you could do. Um you can't put the investments into a energy audit. Unless the landlord wants the landlord wants to, but their motivation would be very low, but boy pumping Pumping $400 a day bills for 1500 square foot home of $400 a month on 1500 square foot home. That's brutal that that's that's mean you And in a well built 1500 square foot home. You ought to be able to keep the temperature about 72 degrees for about half the money and wasn't like this last summer. So we just moved in in February, but I've lived in other rentals around the valley. You know, two story homes that are 3000 square foot and build aboutthe. Same. Yeah, I didn't know if maybe there's like a mobile swamp cooler or something like that. Maybe just bring that to whatever room and then shut the hell up altogether. You know, there's portable air conditioning unit you don't want to mix. Without cooling and air conditioning because that's going to make your air conditioning work even harder. It removes moisture from the air or as of APC ruling introduces moisture to the air, so it you're just going to make your air conditioning at work even harder, But There are a couple of Frigidaire, I think is one several manufacturer that comes to mind and it's ah, You've gotta have an exhaust for it. So whatever room you're in, you've got to drill a hole and somehow exhausted. Some of them come with kits where you crack your window open and a panel slips in there with the exit port. You plug it in there. And it'll cool one room at a time and You know, those do exist? Absolutely. And now they'll run you between 355 $100. You could install him yourself. You just plug him in and vent. Um, but they must be vented. That's a real health health hazard to run it and not have invented outside the house cooling. It's hot air exactly your home. But that might be one option for you, Brandon as Faras, maybe just keep in the master bedroom or the one key room you spend most time in We We have We own several of them. And when we're our computer room with the telephone, mounting board, they're serving all that. We've got one running in that room. Virtually 24 hours a day keeps that room down at 70 degrees. They worked real well, it'd be a lot financially would be a lot better investment than a mini split. Many splits are good at cooling smaller areas, but that would be harder to take with you exactly. I wish I had better news for you,.

"Questions. Um, H vac. Um, I've had the house was built back in. 07 I've had it takes just a capacitor in the switch one time. But then knowing they don't make things the way they used to. Would it be a waste of time for me to start changing the squirrel cage Motors on the attic and the outside portion of the H Vac system? Or should I bite the bullet? Save up for a new system? And where would you recommend me by something? That'll actually last a decent about it Time. Okay, well, you said it was in 07 So it's a 13 year old unit. And is it giving you problems right now? Is that why you're looking at starting to replace stuff or you're just Maybe trying to extend the life of it by replacing parts. Well, the replacing parts is because we had certified also off your guys. That's I come out here and tell me that obviously the capacitors which they just get older time and need to be changed, and he told us so I did that. But he mentioned the motors in the attic and the squirrel cage in the attic are starting to go, You know? Getting really old and the motor of the fan on the outside unit would eventually need to be changed because those are going to go out with a certain about the time but also knowing they don't make things the way they used to be a waste of time for me to just Herto pieces. Exchange those for me. Let me let me get a little more information. Hector. How How big is your home? At 2200 and it's It's one air conditioning system. Yes, Yes. So it's something in the neighborhood of a four ton plus. That I honestly and do you know the brand of the existing unit. Yes, Athletic, Okay? Olynyk. 07 Split system. Your seer rating on that unit is probably something in about the 89 or 10 range, Okay, and the sear rating is a unit's ability to use electricity efficiently. In the higher that number is the more efficient it isthe. What temperature? Do you like to keep your home in the middle of this summer in the middle of Santana Valley? 76. Okay. And do you keep it at that temperature? Continuously all day long or do you pre cool? Okay, 76 2200 square feet. How many people live in the house? 33 Do you have a swimming pool? Now, Okay? So your mid summer bills are running something in the neighborhood of about 350 bucks. That's about right, actually. I know I'm good right now. Now all I need is your American Express number, So, Yeah. So, Hector Look, this unit is doing you a pretty good job. Okay? You're probably consuming something in the neighborhood of 2,503,000 kw a month. You're paying about 12 to 13 since a k w you're doing okay if the system needs Three and four and $500 repair parts to keep it running optimally. That's probably a pretty good investment cause Olynyk you Nero. Seven. You'll be able to get several more years out of that unit. But If you do bite the bullet And replace a four ton with a new unit. You're going to be it about twice the seer rating. You're going to be about 15 or 16. You're going to see an immediate savings on your summer cooling bills. Of about 20 to 25%. So on those $350 maximums just the new air conditioner will cut that back down to about 3 15.

"Easy number seven away Triple 80000 as in zero Pain. Lou Manfredini, Yasar! Mr Fixit. We asked him to join us yesterday. He did. We asked him to come on again today. May push that button there. Hi, Lou. How are you? You're in Spain. No, I'm not in Spain, where you think this is the weirdest connection I've ever heard. I was just telling Ellis I am bad on out died, and actually, I'm stopping right now. But I'm outside like I'm in a bad cell. So I was gonna call you right back. Let's give it a shot. Now of a sudden you sound better. Lots of questions about how to cool our homes. Mr. Fix it. Can I run a few questions by you? Court yesterday. You said that you should clean the fins on your conditioning unit at your house. This person said. What do I do if I have a window unit? Should I be running a hose through that thing, too? What about people that have window units, Lou? So I mentioned that right at the end, but we're running out of time on the outside. When you look at the portion of the window unit, it's outside. Well, suits a matter metal louvers that is basically the same kind of You know, condensing coil is you have with the Big house unit on the outside, You could hose that down. But on the inside that front plastic panel more than likely you've got where the air comes out that comes off and there's an internal filter there but is drawing the hot air in and that almost inevitably is so clogged with lynch and dust and debris. It's a washable filter, she can take it to the kitchen sink. Rinse it off wash it. If there's any degree under there, just take a small dusting brush and clean that up and then put it all back. And that approves the efficiency of John Williams, My H Vac guy. Gave my a CIA check this spring and said he was using a special soap to clean our unit. I need a special so blue Where is the product at a lot of H C contractors used called coil clean, and it is a spray bottle that almost every HBC contractor keeps on their truck. And it's made by a local Chicagoland company called London Mark and you can actually buy that product at the hardware store, and what that does is because of the aluminum. Most of the pins are made out of aluminum. You can get accident accident oxidation and actually almost kills him buildup and this coil queen will reduce all that and then you like that Sit there for half an hour. Then you hose it off, and that's really the way that's a pro tip right there. My product is called Oil Clean. John and H Vac repairman said that the comet box Can be used to turn on and off my air conditioner peak times, But that can harm my A C. In fact, he claims that maybe the reason my compressor needs to be replaced. You know what they're talking about? I think he's talking about the smart meter and I don't necessary. I don't think that that is true because You think about this? You're a smart meter. You here come and talk about that, where they can find out about outages and draws and whatnot. But the issue is it unless they have, unless it's been rewired to the actual breaker or the, uh can I get that comment would never touch comment has they only have responsibility from the meter back to the pole? They do not do any electrical work inside your home. And so there's no way that the meter can call out one specific electrical device writing her home, writes. What about this? Lou? If I'm going to let my house get warmer when I'm not there should how warm should I let again? Because if I let it get too warm, like I'm going to save money, not run the air at all. Then I gotta really crank my.

Well it wouldn't be colder. It would be hotter because the more air you blew across the evaporator core then the less efficient the core is because it has more heat to pull out of the air and the same thing is true for a heater core that puts heat in the air versus removing heat. From the air. Show again I would go back and I would ask specifically a what thermostat and here's one of the other things you can do if they have an infrared gun which every shop should have then loop the engine idle even takes twenty minutes. And that's that's a luxury. Although in in in Florida Outta here you got to have it but the bottom line. That's what they're made in to that. So let's say we got to redesign this. They changed the water valve now so that the valve is normally open to flow heat water through the through the heater core and then you have to have vacuum for the system to shut off the water and that means that again whatever.
