The Zach Wilson Era Is off to a Disastrous Start
"So let's talk about zack wilson. Because you mentioned him and watching him lose twenty five to six at home to the patriots and bill ballot check and bill. Bella check destroys rookie. Quarterback's he consumes them. He picks their bones. That's all stuff that we know already cleans. His teeth with the bones of rookie quarterback is what he does but we saw jets fans alex. You know throwing in the towel and it's week two. And i say that because they were literally throwing souvenir tales from the stands. And zach wilson. The four picks. I'm curious about climbing into your memory bank here because what do you. Alex smith remember about playing the colts back in two thousand and five pablo. I've definitely tried to forget this one all right but we're good. I do remember my first career. Start the number one defense at the time and like the colts were in their heyday. Payton was rolling. But that defenseman dwight free robert matt Bob sanders. i mean it was. It was a joke and yeah. It's all a terrible blur for me. Like four picks i think my rating was it like it was a disaster but i think that was a clear design i was i just turned twenty one. I mean i played only two years in college in a spread system now trying to plan their center. Probably this become this pro quarterback whatever that is and It was not good. I was definitely i. I felt unprepared. And it was a disaster and it showed. You've been a guy who had a four interception game really early after being a top. Pick your the number one overall pick of course. What do you counsel him. Hypothetically what do you stay to him after a game like this if you were to visit him. Alex smith kind of like a ghost of christmas future. What do you. What do you tell a kid who's very talented but also just had a day like this. I think exactly that. I mean i think you gotta go like for me. I just go to the third and fourth picks that he grew and pause before the snap and look look like jack. It's ten to three on this one. It's in the third quarter we got. There's a ton of football left. There's no reason to throw this ball up The way he did and then even the second one in the fourth grade. I mean i think it was thirteen to three. At that point. There is still time. Left like again I think going back to just doing your
New Orleans Saints to Use Interim Facility for First Month of Season
"The new orleans saints have picked their starting quarterback jameis winston. Jeff duncan covering the team new orleans times. Picayune sports columnist. Let me start with that season opener given the weather and we still have some time. Here is their contingency plans. If the saints can't host the packers that opening weekend jeff dan. They're working on that right now. I mean the situation is so fluid as you can imagine in new orleans. The power outages catastrophic. The entire city is still out of power. And so there's so many other priorities right now in the city beyond the football game and we stopped the sean payton this morning. Big look like the saints are going to set up shop in the dallas fort worth area. Absurd least the next month or so and he mentioned that they'd even looked into possibly playing their home games over in dallas and. At and t. stadium. I think that's one of the ideas they're not going around with. There's so many moving parts here other trying to make roster cuts today get players out of there and they got families members all in the hotel move hotel so it's a it's a crazy situation very unprecedent.

They made it to the lottery. And then all of a sudden they so happened lucked up and got the number and had already told me that it was going to draft me here so everything was falling into and it was doing things and and it. It just worked out because you can't. You came into a team like a veteran team. Yes yes and you don't usually do and you know the number two pick you do that. That kind of helped that. That kinda happened for me. Like i went to a veteran team so we was already like a playoff team. When i left you went in like you went in and it was like what was what was the first year in the nba. Because that was like as a young point guard be likes. Man you right right and that was that was different beady and i think it was different because you because you had a different coach. I casey jones who was always used to larry bird. Yeah mikhail now. He does his use of the veterans coming in there and winning championships for. He didn't know how to deal with me and shy kim right but we weren't too. We weren't good in our first two years until george cain joy carl came so he didn't know how to deal with us. You know what i'm saying. So everybody was talking about trading us yet on a test of and we see we. This is not our basketball. Then you know tim. Coast guard came in coast guard. Came in and then what you think we change whole program. Yeah we start doing different things and it was a beautiful thing for us and then all of a sudden that next year i made china doll store then. Detroit Pistons Sign Luka Garza
"Luke garza could actually become a real. Nba player that guy that one collegiate player of the year and yet nobody wanted and is drafted in the nba draft What ended up with twenty and fourteen or something. Last night he was. He was outstanding Again he has dow signed a two way deal. So luger's who does nobody been. It's he'll end up getting four The pistons but luca garza signed a two two way deal. He of course had a historic collegiate career at iowa. But he was you know by all accounts slow-footed big played near around the basket and so was of no use to people in the nba. And yet he made threes. He put up to huge double doubles and in their finale. Last night ends it with twenty one point and fifteen rebounds and got himself a two way contract so the luka garza dream is still alive after getting selected fifty second in the nba draft. He was good and he's fun. You know he's a real throwback but I i love the idea of becoming you know. Just the there's i went back and looked kevin. There's never been a guy like you by where this has happened work. I becomes the naismith player of the year in college basketball. Nobody wants him now. Not all of them have panned out. I e like the tyler hands boroughs but tolerance was like a lottery pick. I think frank mason might be the lowest and he was like at the beginning of the second round nobody. There's not even close to being selected. Fiftieth or fifty. Second whatever you've picked.

And we'll work through it with the other players that are here. Um, but the surgery took place and obviously You know, we would have liked That to have happened earlier than later. And quite honestly, it should have Can you explain? I mean, was there a lack of communication in between work? Nope. I'm gonna leave it at that.

"Crazy like i'll be playing shows and i'll have people come and to me man. This is the first show. I've been to in over a year like this is so awesome and it's crazy things i'm like you haven't been out and over a year. What is this crazy different places. You go the places Are handling it differently. Just in different states my wife and i just for christmas time right before christmas. We went to nashville. I'd been a few times. I had been a few times for working. She had never been. And you know. We are in full lockdown mode at that point in california and we go there and like broadway's open and you know there's live bands playing in ten o'clock in the morning on on broadway and you're like i guess we can go have fun now and we hadn't seen live music and ten months so yeah it's the same way. It really is every state you go to handling. Everything i mean must differently than the state right next to it which is a good and i think it's a good thing honestly i will say because Just being able to travel for much during this time and you know you kind of all waiting to see like okay like what is this state during how are we. Are we handling this. Yeah that's going to be a real hard thing for tour managers. Like how do they set that up. You know it's like you gotta learn true. That's that's a whole different level. I guess but yeah. I think that's something that kind of depend on the venue and depend on You know kind of what they're willing to do until i got but then again. I think that's not a huge issue. Considering if people are going to pay money to attend to show you know. I think they kinda. They're kinda choosing the gun do that so i and i think that's my opinion what i know. The foo fighters just got in trouble because they announced they're doing a show new york and went out and bought tickets and then and then they announced that you have to be vaccinated before go to the show and and so some of the fans were upset because they it was only a two week notice so they couldn't even even if they wanted to get back so needed they couldn't get vaccinated in time to go to the show and then some people bought the tickets and more vaccinated so even if they wanted to get it was just a mess. So our now. That's that's not cool but yeah so. I mean there's going to be a lot of. I know i talked to a guy that works at the staple center and he. He's a ticket broker and so he he bought a whole bunch of tickets for the sweets for upcoming shows and concerts and in games and then he found out afterwards that they had to be vaccinated and so a lot of people that that he sells to are vaccinated or weren't vaccinated in time. So you got stuck with tens of thousands of dollars of tickets at you just bought. I didn't even think about that. That's crazy it's it's going to like the big show here and right now california's midstate fair casseroles coming up in july and trying to out because big and rich play there and then my friend cowboy troy plays with them very cool. I'll go try and see him. But i don't know i don't know we'll see see how everything goes to. The roads are saying things kind of interesting state to state. Yeah i guess. We'll see what it for you. I think it's it's kinda cool because being at a young age you're going to look back in ten or fifteen or twenty years and remember this time. I kind of weird think about you know. My kids are going to be written about this answer. But that's right the reading about the The impeachments and the election they insurrection. The vaccine i mean all that crazy stuff one year. That'd be good so after your your website shows. You have pretty much gigs bull with august. Do you have anything set up after that. And you're just waiting or well. Yeah i have some dates. That are coming out that i can't You know that i. I try to space out time. That i now shows and things of that nature coming out but yeah a lot of things coming up of releases and Different events coming up in that feature and definitely the end of the year school now freedom. Jim awesome freedom. Gams going to be a big one. super soaker. That one i got the planet it last year and Really excited be down back and my friends that go to that live in missouri. A big very cool very cool. Yeah i'm excited for that one. What's the best way. I'll close up. What's the best way for my listeners. To find out what you have going on how. How do you want them to to folly. My instagram peyton. How music. tay t. o. N. h. o. w. i. e. and That's my instagram. Same thing with my facebook page. Peyton how music and i'm yeah you can check out my stuff there and i have a website now dot com. I got all my shows listed there. I got some merge music all that fun stuff so that's the best way to stay connected. I love with you guys is. If you're listening. Thank you yes. I'm sorry but i was just thinking like what's the biggest How do you want people. Do you want people to buy your music. Is it spotify streams. I mean how does that. What do what do artists look for. Now what does the measuring. Because he's be record sales. But i don't think that's the case you know i would say i mean i think that is of something based on opinion I would say personally for me. I've seen that the thing that is helping artists most nowadays. It's spotify streams confined. Because i think that's something that a lot of labels looked. I think a lot of people are looking at spotify streams and listeners and different playlists you've been added to and things of that nature so i would say i would say probably having one of the greatest impacts Nowadays artists so all my listeners. Go to spotify and listen and and follow payton on on on spotify me greatly appreciated. Thank you absolutely and if you ever need a pair of boots or anything you know. Shoot me a call. I will definitely take you up on that. I'm pretty much like on barn. Like i love it right actually. Do you can buy stock in bloomberg. They went public a few years ago. That oh wow serious but hey keep them. Going in their stock will keep going up. But yeah seriously if you ever need anything just let me know. I definitely take you up on that offer. Thank you so much absolutely. And and i'll i'll see in july at the At the coach house and enjoy all the other shows. You got coming up. It's awesome keep going my love. Thank you for having me. Thanks peyton really appreciate the time. Thank you so much bye. bye.

"Fresh and i'm excited to put them out super super new and like i'm excited to share like the work that we put into it. I know i've another thing coming out at the end of the summer can't be specific about but it's coming very soon and a music video with as well so that's something that can be expected. I'm just curious. Because i grew up in the heart of music videos. Were everything i mean. Literally everything and now you know what i mean. Cmt's still plays a lot of videos. I guess but do you find him. Still being important shirt something you enjoy doing but oh yeah i definitely do you know. I think that's something that i've been learning a lot especially considering that freedom on the lock video that i just put out on the first music video that i thought and it really is like it's a visual for people to look at and it's just one more thing that you know generating Publicity and people getting excited about the song not to mention I think freedom. Being the first one that i saw did he'll four was kind of like ironically perfect because When you listen to freedom it's it and you know it's pretty straightforward. I do think very straightforward message but the story that we pulled in the music video with no the story of young love and this young guy and letting in the north area and asking The girl that he's with the way for him. I i think you know whether someone hears that in the song or not being able to visualize it through the video with the song i really think was Very important and i think it's really been a lot for the song itself and i'm really glad that i got to shoot the music video. It was it was awesome. I shot it with kevin garcia. And he's done stuff for For corn for poppy for Chaka khan jay leno easy like got all these crazy names that he's worked with and so he literally took the visions that we had four freed on the music video and just completely brought to life. There was like yeah got it. He wasn't even like oh. Yeah whatever. Got it totally cool. You're the coolest guy. So i do think music videos really bring a song to lie and i think it gives people Different perspective on totally totally agree. And it's interesting because there are songs now that here and i only think of the video because when when growing up that's you would sit around on. Mtv and wait to see what when the new song was come out. And then you'd watch that video then you'd wait for it and you just watch it over and over again and so w is that song. So it's interesting. I i really do. Think music videos allow people to hear the song in here. The story in a different light like les wilson she just came out with her song. things a man ought to know and i was like. Oh yeah i like the song like cool you know relatable i i like it now and then. She came out with his video and in the music video. It's depicting a young couple and like a little girl together. And like i guess you know from what i can understand from the video. They're like tight on money and so he goes out and he robbed the liquor store and he like his friend shot and he gets arrested. And it's a crazy thing. And and i never would have thought of that in the song and now every time i hear this song it just has a whole different meaning to me like the fact that they came up with that and like came up with this story that lined up with the song. But if you listen to the song you don't you don't hear that you know got liquor stores like that. So i mean. I think that's a great example for sure. Exciting do you have. You played or are you have any plans to play During nfl. in las vegas Not the moment. now okay. I know it's coming back. This year didn't have last year for the first time in forever. Yeah i. I don't know i know there's a lot of things that are like it's happening. It's not. I know like a lot of things like The irs and nam and stuff like that but not too sure. I know having just told by my boss planning to go again. So yeah you say awesome. I say sixteen straight days of work. Well not to all my friends like how did you go to vegas. I like to go sleep at a hotel room for sixteen straight days. I think you know and this isn't my first trip. So i've seen everything i need to see in vegas but there's lots of vegas there is. There's quite a bit especially during an afar. you know i've never been during. Nfl crazy. It's it's it's it's so surreal when if the because we show up four days before the rodeo starts to set up our booths we set upon. We set well last time. We thirteen different booths at three different locations. And so we were setting it up as you walk through the casinos. It's normal normal every day. Stuff at all the casinos like just vegas and then day one of the nfl when the road starts everybody changes all the people that work there at the mgm start wearing western clothing because we supply him and But all the banners go up and they're playing country music over over the speakers you know throughout the casinos. Yeah and then there's also people cowboy hat start showing up and you're like grandma and then like the day after all down. It's all gone because the last day of the rodeo saturday and then Some of the venue one venue still open on sunday so we we work that and then we tear down on monday. And i drive home monday. And it's it's like it never happened every every banner every. Nf are thing cowboy gone one day that crazy transition so the people that go there that you know that. Just show up for the rodeo. This awesome it's like this. All the time like knows not definitely not. Yeah but yeah is it is it. I'm just curious as a young singer. Like are you trying to to And i'm sure you're you're management all that would have input but like are you always trying to get to bigger venues or is it just different venues or is it more shows or a balance or oh yeah i definitely would say i mean and then that's that's something that i do work on myself as well not just my team but Obviously i have no goals to play. You know keep growing and keep travelling and moving out. But yeah i'm superstock you'd be playing some Bigger venues This summer i'm playing the old time music festival this summer. And that's gonna be huge. Chris johnson in the band perry. That's probably going to be one of the special. And i've ever played so far and stokes of that I'm getting to play. Doh dove coming up in texas. And and that's a pretty well known venue out in texas and i'm and i'm getting to play coast house and july. I'm out in california. So i'm tryin kept catch you. I'll just head down. Yeah that one's gonna be superfund when you look back. If you ever look at the coach house and who's played there you'll be like. Oh i mean a lot of by now i actually i looking at it. Not just who's played there before but he's also playing they're like leading up to the show that i'm flying. I'm like oh my goodness there's so many crazy names up here. My my wife's saw some age groups there Two years ago. And then like i said you start looking like oh. This is like real people. I know it's crazy. I was looking at their their lineup. It's pretty decent. Yeah and and it will get better as as people need to get out. You know it's going to be interesting right. And that's the thing being out in california. I have been just the summer. it's crazy. And i mean not so much in texas just because things were necessarily like that out in texas but in california. It's.

"The just because something isn't working out right now. It doesn't mean it's never gonna work out like and i mean i'm gonna use the softball and now he like you know if you're you're in a slump or your striking out or the game's not going the way that you want it to go if you just be like. Oh yeah whatever. Like games over and give up. Obviously it's going to be over but as you know. I keep pushing like in my career. Like if i'm hitting a wall and i'm trying to figure out a way to get this opportunity or to like reach your certain level or this milestone. Whatever it is. If i keep pushing keep perseverance like i learned to do in sports at a young age. And i'm gonna get there absolutely see. That's you're young to begin with so you got time on your hands but just keep pushing. I mean that's that's that's the athlete athletic way i guess l. Yeah i mean what. What position did you play in softball. Catcher and i played centerfield catcher preparing to throw somebody out at second base right. Oh yeah i'm ready. How many throws did you make. How many practices do you think took over your your career. Oh my oh my god. Thank you count exactly. That'd be the same way you know. It's it's i wonder if if young people think i'm gonna come up with a hit record and it's just gonna blow up and i'm gonna be famous. Do you think are ours. You think that way or muslim pretty realistic about. It's a grind. Know i will say. I think it is a A mentality i think if someone i mean i i will say i won't name names but i've met a few people that are like oh yeah like this in the back. I'm gonna put out the song it's gonna be hit. I mean from matter few people that are like that. And i think while yes. It is great to be optimistic. I think there is something that comes with Humility and something that comes with being like more grateful for every opportunity and understanding that the growth process. And you're not just going to like drop a single you know starting from the bottom and then i'll start in the and superstar overnight. You know. I think that more realistic. I think that's another thing. Sports teaches is like life. You know having a realistic perspective on life and understanding that it takes work and you don't get overnight. I haven't met the person yet. I'm i'm sure they're out there. But i mean even like even at your young age like if like you just named new country artist of the year right. I think it was last year I well actually. Yeah i wanna josie award last year. How long have you been singing. You know what i mean. I'll i mean just in general.

"Out in the aisles. Like of the of the rows of chairs there and The lights like panic across the audience. And one of my stop on the and it was carrie underwood actually. She was singing date and see like stop concert and she like told her bodyguard. Hey gopher in that little girl up block days like it was totally crazy to me up on stage and like secure like sand dancing and just like i was getting to look out and see this halsey of people that are like all vibe ings and just having a good time and all connecting like It's just a music is universal thing. And that's what i love so much about. It and i think that's really what like captured my attention as far as pursuing museums. A career. like i i love it. I love being able to play songs. people are like. Oh my god helluva song or oh my gosh. That song really hit home you know. That's like my favorite thing about music and Just after that moment you know at that young age. I kinda up with a more of a traditional music influence and i like i love all the classic grades traditional country music. You know the women in country music that really just influenced my style and in my art and You know. I'm also just kind of on a mission to bring that back to country music and That's what i'm doing well. So you're living in texas now but how much travelling are you doing between national california and texas and then anywhere else. I'll be honest of ridiculous of families and it's and it's crazy especially considering Everything that's going on in the world right now in in still being able to travel and Just you know being able to get things done. It's actually gone a lot smoother than most people would think and it's been awesome. I've been able to get out to nashville. And then i'm like you know. Wrote the whole five song. Ep recorded and everything and now our shooting. Music videos. Shooting one hour nashville. The music video was shot in texas. So we're everyone's kind of going all over the place and it's like super crazy busy but you know it's never been better so i'm loving it. Well that's awesome. You know the have you noticed any differences the when we are deepen into covert and now. Have you know some like at the airports like for me. It seems like traffic is getting back to normal. Which isn't always a good thing. But it's actually it's crazy. When covert like i kind of started and and i was like still you know needing to travel and things of that nature You know flights were actually not very expensive at all. And there was hardly any like ninety percent of the time i fly. It'd be like half full like there'd be no one on the plane or does kinda cool 'cause then you get like whole road yourself. You know what i'm saying now. It's like now that things are getting back to normal I mean you know flights or you know full flights and everything seems to be pretty much back to normal. you know. everyone's just kinda get more. They need to go. And then you're kinda getting back to usual now and that's it's interesting. Because i remember i went to lax as flying. I think from denver. And i'm like i'm in l. a. x. and in toronto one. There's no one there and you're like are they. Open like ads cr- it's like doesn't even seem real. No no-one there on then drive on the four or five freeway in the fru is around here ninety one and all that. And you're like there's no traffic like wow yeah crazy thing especially coming back into into california for the first time in over a year. It's like crazy going back and seeing all the traffic. I'm like There the the the the circle around houston gets pretty bad at times too though. Oh yeah it does this. Yes i mean i will say it it does. It can get pretty crazy around there. But i i've never. I've never thought so long in a car. Not moving in been in california. We're special that way love it. Plans to move to move the national. Or you're gonna stay in in texas for all. Yes i'm planning on. Going pretty much lived in nashville half the time. I live out in national outside the other half the time i live in texas plan shows and stuff with something like that but Yeah i mean. It's actually a hilarious. 'cause you just play clips like none of us have ever heard before what we do like. What if it's play the clip. What's the scenario like. Why is this happening that too. So what's the next clip. I was asking me what i got on. They were like. Hey buddy. don't web sweetheart. If that's left this seven when me and my boyfriend kadian and i started dating. "John dean rich. Use your phone the way. It was originally designed to be used talking to other humans. Call us eight seven seven nine. Three seven one four seven john and rich. How did kyle win the lottery. What happened so you know my son. Eastern is four years old and summer time and thing you do in summer is swim right. I mean that's like one of the only ways to be okay outside. Well my daughter. Addison is six and we had her in all different kinds of swim lessons. Like i mean she did aqua. Todd's she did a private lessons. She did this. This piranha swim school and it took all of those things for her to finally get years and years later. We'll east end. He started a swim lessons last year. And i think. I think the teacher felt really bad for him because he is really not a fan of water. I mean even. When i give him a bath he hates it. He hates stays. He hits it on his head. He's okay like submerged up to his chest but other than that like he pretty much screamed the entire class every single class last year. And we i think it was three or four days a week for the entire summer. Let's just say there was not a whole lot of progress. So i had signed up for the one of the swim schools. That did that. I felt like she had a lot of progress in because they don't play games they just take it really seriously like this swim school. And it's like superintendents for two weeks and it was booked so you know we put on the waiting list. And then i started looking up like all the different aquatic centers in the neighborhoods and stuff like that. And just like everything's full. Everything's full. And i had this really scary moment in the pool the other day he was wearing his floaty. We were about to get out. He's like mom ready to take it off and like all right. Well let's get out. And so i had turned around for like a second and i. Was you know like rolling up the umbrella and all of a sudden i heard and i'm like what and i turned around. And he had fallen and he was like you know like flailing and trying to stay above the water inside to obviously like russia and and grabbed him. And i'm like oh my gosh. Like if i hadn't heard him. I don't know how long it would have taken me to roll the umbrella up like would it have been too late. And that's so crazy. Unlike literally five feet away from the kid at this point just like so scary. So i'm like. I really need to just like kick this into high gear. I'm just going to bring in the water every day. I'm just going to go. I'm going to i'm gonna teach him. This is like. I can't wait to get into somewhere. And so i tried a couple of days ero and he was not a fan and unlike i'm not good for this because i see him like crying getting upset and i'm like it's okay. We'll get out no problem. But i got a text last night and we got an apartment for today. I was texting her back. I'm like this is amazing. You have no idea. We're so excited for the opportunity to parker's piranha swim school. Hold it at her house. that's flag. She's she prays with the kids beforehand. And she's just this like she's very calming but she's also like very authoritative. So i know he'll be like really good hands of their. But i'm like you guys like i told scott i came running and i was like oh african. It's going to be torture when you're in there you know he hates it if you know. You're making them. She was like drink if he wants to. I puked in rallied. I was ready. Everyone's drink with pre workout. I didn't but i was like dude. I i don't know what to do but we had so much fun. Literally everybody drank. But her such carl's pita stuff. Do we use everything. There's.

J.J. Watt is leaving the Houston Texans
"Talk about it real quick here about the current state of the nfl. All right to shawn watson is going to be somebody that's talked about if this is the way the. Nfl becomes with high super caliber superstar quarterbacks wanting out of their russell wilson is somebody you would never think whatever asked to be traded or moved or anything other than go hawks matthew stafford we thought he was potential gonna die on a football field while wearing alliance jersey because he would never ever come out and say hey. This is not for me anymore. Okay i would like to potentially go on and have success somewhere because when legacies are talked about hall of fames or talked about. NFL Honors: Seattle Seahawks' Russell Wilson announced as 2020 Walter Payton Man of the Year
"But it's also a weekend where some top NFL honors of the year have been announced for me. Abed Buffet of Coma Sports says there's a Seahawk player among these honors. Russell Wilson is the epitome of what you want from a franchise player. No, he's never won the M v P, But he's a great athlete and an even better person. At the NFL honors, the league recognized that Wilson's value stretches far beyond The white lines. Russell Wilson was named the Walter Payton, NFL Man of the year for his charitable acts and excellent on and off the field with the help of his wife, Sierra Wilson, and the Why not You foundation donated one million meals to feeding America's food lifeline. In October, Wilson announced their latest efforts of starting the Why not You Academy who will be a charter school set to open next fall for the award, Wilson will receive $290,000. Go towards the white, not you Foundation. 2020 was the most difficult times of history, losing a sports icon like Kobe in a movie star and Chadwick witnessing losing George Floyd. Right in front of her eyes. A modern Briana and so many others the loss of so many because of this monster of a pandemic called Covert 19. We've lost so many things, but, Dad, I wish you were here. You to tell the world love changes things. Wilson is the second Seahawk to win the award after Steve Largent in 1988 and rightfully so. The list of contributions include partnering with the United Way's United Last Mile campaign, which is delivered 860,000 miles across King County, along with wine that you foundation Wilson has also helped raise more than $9 million for pediatric cancer research to go along. Drew Brees, Saints rework contract to save almost $24M in cap space
"And Drew Brees agreed to a restructuring of his contract. You're probably thinking, Oh, man, he is coming back when they don't know they restructured his 24 plus million dollar contract down to the veteran's minimum of like a million and change. Why would they do that? Well because he's going to retire. And so that way it opens up that cap space and they've got that available and ready so that they sort of know where they're at. And so that, so that was just a sign an indication that Drew Brees. He's done there already, you know, going through the motions, and it's over. Is anybody surprised that Drew Brees because also, Sean Payton said he expects a for a decision from Drew Brees next week. Anybody all that surprised that Drew Brees is waiting until after the Super Bowl to make his decision on his retirement?
The case for Baylor at No. 1 over Gonzaga
"The only respectful way to begin. This episode is by recognizing that scott drew baylor bears formerly known. As bill henderson's baylor bears improved a seventeen on the season tuesday night with an eighty-three sixty nine victory at texas. They outscored the longhorns. By seven in the first half they outscored the longhorns. By seven in the second half as a result baylor otherwise known as terry eagles alma mater is now seventeen and fifteen. Double digit wins. The bears are number one at kim palm. Their number one in the net. they are awesome undeniably. Norlander your turn to talk about baylor. Are you going to spend the next few minutes showing proper respect for the first lady of baylor basketball or are you going to once again disrespect. Kelly drew got drew. Plus mackenzie payton brody. Not to mention homer and janet price and tara dana and her husband. Casey bryson anna isaiah caleb. In luke plus drew barrymore drew carey. Drew brees drew bledsoe. Dr drew drew. Gooden andrew mcintyre how are you gonna handle this moment. bryce doesn't care does care. He'd bryce doesn't care. I talk to about it. He doesn't care. How are you going to atone for the fact that you still have a number one. I mean. I think it's disrespectful at this point. Daily top twenty five and one. After what i saw last night. I got baylor number one. But you don't and you disrespect the entire through family. And every drew. She has to drew mcgarry as well. You're disrespecting them all you've got number two. I think you're the one who needs to explain himself. I actually can't explain myself. And i do get asked this every day. I saw strong joe last night trying to make the case that baylor should be number one and i let it be clear. I won't argue with anybody that says baylor should be number. One baylor at this moment has a better resume than gonzaga. Got six quarter on lindsay. Does eggs only have five. Baylor is got the best adjusted efficiency margin in the country and one of the best of all time at this point. If you wanna if you wanna put baylor number one it is fine with me. It's just. I think we've talked about this. Before i made a rule a longtime ago i will not drop number one team unless it loses the only time i made an exception i went and looked it. Up is two seasons ago. Kansas was number one in the top twenty five and one to open the season. Kentucky might have been to. Duke was in the top five somewhere and do zion williamson cameras and remember the other one started with our allies and it was. It was whatever it doesn't matter. It doesn't rj barrett and so they went out and they just throttled kentucky on opening night at bankers life. And i just. I was even conflicted. Then because keynes's is just one and it was one zero and number one and i was like i don't feel silly not to have that duke team. That just did that to kentucky ranked number one. So i made an exception to the rule. Then but i've been ranking college basketball teams for better or worse for like more than fifteen years now and i've only dropped a number one team without losing one time and that is the example.

"Rivers isn't the only recent retiree getting into the high school coaching biz. Jason witten he's just going to be a high school coach liberty christian down in argyle texas announce a witness. How the Tampa Bay Buccaneers upset the New Orleans Saints to advance to the N.F.C. championship game.
"Drew brees tom. Brady eighty five years worth of quarterbacks second quarter at six three saints and then dan fish huge mistake by brief. Yeah first of all the internal pressure and second of all the physical. Play at the line of scrimmage by murphy bunting getting physical with the receiver michael thomas undercutting that outraged by drew brees. That throw was a huge tone. And that. I love the to mike evans big body in the red zone. Stay in between the quarterback and defensive back touchdown tampa bay for cash in ten six tampa ensuing drive seats trying to respond. This is james winstons. First career playoff past and dan take a look at the triggering. Yeah love the beautiful design and then trey smith leaking down the middle field. But this is really about everyone paying attention to alvin kamara. Watch the tailback in. How many blocks defenders run that way. They lead tricon smith on blocked out here. You big cat. Take great play designed by matt. Nagy that sean payton carries over to yesterday saints thirteen. Ten is the advantage there. Bucks get a field goal. So we're tied up at halftime first. Possession of the second breeze to smith again beautiful. Throw we've seen so much by drew. Brees that incites thought. Fade carry into the sideline touchdown new orleans but then later in the third dan. This play changed the entire game. It's incredible winco junior yet. Tampa new orleans wins. The right they get that slant because it's man coverage but just watch that right hand come in on that back side punch to finish that playoff for tampa bay's defense. That ball bounces right to their defender to huge turnover for them saints turnovers and the bucks cashing in. That was the story of the game. Here's brady that's leonard. Four bucks tied up at twenty cook knows. That mistake was critical. Comes another one dan. Although this one clearly seems to be miscommunication yeah really. It's really just trying to get a vertically route to evan chimera out of the backfield but what happens is never liked. Does a remarkable job of playing with vision onto drew brees patient and then no wasted movement snaps drives on that football before kamera ever turns around and drew knows that was a terrible decision. Saints third turnover leads to this brady takes it himself. Tom brady giving the bucks a thirty to twenty lead. Only the rap isn't excited about it and one last chance now. Desperation time for freeze. That is tipped in the air. And that is all she
Turnovers Doom Saints in 30-20 NFC Divisional Playoffs Loss to Bucs
"Bill. I just want to dive into it here. Because there's a lot to get to after watching the bucks. Beat the saints. Thirty to twenty so new orleans had been in tampa bay twice this season in week. One about four hundred years ago and then again in november. So what was the difference in this game vs those other two. I really simple pablo the saints. Just didn't protect the football. In the two regular season games between these teams the saints won the turnover battle. Both times there are plus three in the week one victory and then one up in the rematch. Tom brady threw five picks across those two games. Only seven in his other fourteen games. That really felt like the saints had his number and they were gonna have to flip that to win in new orleans. Well they flipped. It didn't turn the ball over the saints coughed up. Four times including three interceptions drew brees. The bucks turned the first few takeaways and two touchdowns and use the fourth to wrap up the game and kneel down. It's virtually impossible to win a playoff game. That sort of margin the saints will just sloppy in this game. Mean breeze could have thrown four or five picks. He threw an awful interception under pressure for the first one and on the same page with alvin kamara on a scene route for the second interception. The third bounced off jared cook. Who also fumbled away a completion on a drive where the saints were looking at. Go up to scores. They lost the ball and proceeded to give up seventeen unanswered points to end their season. So clearly the bucks had a formula of sorts for stopping breeze in it seemed like every aspect of this game. But it's not just that they stopped him instead. They made him look straight up terrible really often and i'm wondering how did they do that to that degree. Well i really think that todd bowles bucks defense. Look the tape from last week's game against the bears look how drew brees was playing. Look at how pal those receivers were moving and just didn't think there was anybody in that lineup who could reliably win against man coverage or beat them down field with their speed. This was especially true. After the saints lost deonte harris who had two long punt returns early in this game to a neck injury the saints did get a long touchdown but it was not with brees on the field. It was the lone snap for one jameis winston who came in and use the same trick. Play the bears ran against them last week. For a long touchdown coming across his sanders they handed to them. Refers goes to jameson mega man. Wide open trade smith at the twenty five fifteen ten five and a touchdown saints and jameis winston. What a touchdown pass against his former overall when breeze on the field it was pretty clear at the game plan was to dare him and his receivers to try and take shots towards the sidelines and get downfield and the game plan worked the bucks used heavy doses of twists and stunts upfront create pressure and then just smothered breezes receivers. I honestly it really felt the only reason. Sean payton didn't bench breeze for winston on the last drive. The game is because it was probably a last few snaps of drew brees his career.

"You yourself as the credit. So you said charge cards. Line of credit, which is like a car payment, right? Loans are a senator same every month. So that can be a student loan, a mortgage, a car loan. Are you know your typical examples of that may be a personal loan. And I think last time we talked about this to people like I'm just GonNa Personal Nine and I'm GonNa pay well, and when you do, you're still not gonna see that big pop in your credit score it's going to be good for like relationship like Odin the down, but it's not gonNA. Give you that pop with you pot or to revolve lines. So that's GONNA be your credit cards so. It's your control I might have a five thousand dollar credit line it even if I do take it up the four, ninety nine. Point Ninety, nine, I pay it off every much. You know what? I mean not letting it sit there and hover around spot. So. I know we talked about last time up before I go tomorrow you did you have a question I think? I think I should ask more questions questions think. You sound like you got something Brunet. Well Jim but we talking about so she says student loans as one of them So student loans. One of those things that actually. Well I guess. Since it actually. Actually helps me credit I. Guess it does Great. Credit but So. I WANNA say like more a mortgage or a Brent Bennett. I thought. Mortgages or eviction nosers don't show up on your credit. So I think he year were in a lot of different things interchangeably order. Though mortgages. Mortgage loans Right. Remember that's a hard pool. Money so that you can buy something. You WanNa be there. Are a rent is not gonNA be on your credit unless you add as nontraditional line of credit. which doesn't always report on all three and it just looks really not bad. You know experience boost another outer door, what they do with utilities and everything. Student loans so yet doesn't installment loan, but the majority which for a long time people like esther next bubble. People aren't paying, on down. Because some people aren't in the physician to. Some people just aren't there. I'm just keep deferring it. So while you're deferring that though what's happening anybody wants the guess. Is Incorrect There you go. So what is that balanced doing? Them. So. Is that helping you on the portion of your credit and looks at your ability to pay down that. Right and when you buy a house, they're still gonNA use that up percentage like one percent or whatever it is whichever one is higher. As a part of your debts income when qualifying for lung. So. You know if you like. Like tell people if you save save money every paycheck, but you go to their savings account a, you take the money out every you're not ready to save. Stop. You're not ready reevaluate budget. Right, maybe put a little less than they're paying on some debts or whatever it is causing you to region to the saints. Naxalite digit digit is at I like digit that doesn't mean everybody's not like digit there's different savings for everybody but I like digit because it connects to my account. And it allows me it. Intuitively these how we spend our money sally saved more money. When we have a deposit is saves mess when we Don't like it. It knows and You can set parameters so you can set it to say for different things or you can make it stop saving it your advantage account below a certain amount. So you know you have to do it works for you it. You're not. You're one of those people I am not connecting anything to my bank account. Okay. Don't Outta sight Outta. Mind when you get your check had that may twenty five dollars don't have to be a hundred hours you know what I mean said. not to. Don't connected to your checking account. Don't have it for overdraft dicing unanimity maybe have another checking account for over directors or something you have to do what works for you and you have to next where it comes to be honest with yourself, which takes me back to the whole budget apiece. So anyway, the student loans. Paid down that's where you must see the benefit of that Your mortgage is going to be on Arizona's Tom Alone Day. Both are so. But you can still get a higher credit score without is- just you might need like three or four in credit cards disease. So I'M GONNA. Go Way back into the conversation. when you were talking about. Would you rather do get a thirty thousand dollar loan and purchase something or are you going to buy a wrench? Now one I think the one of the misconceptions is that when you hear the word debt, you hear it as a bad thing. What are some of the ways that you can use credit slash? To Ra well. I heard this weekend I did this training Y'all Ten hours Star. Liability Okay Making money it's a liability if it's not over it, the mound let's in not more than what you're paying out as elaborate. So one of the things you can do. Is using it. As a you know well peas or whatever is one use it so that you can improve your credit remember said the personal guarantees Right because at some business loans you might have to Do that or you can focus on building your business credit so that you don't have to use your own credit if your business, right. So that's one way. Right join alert. Right. Get a mortgage financing for fifteen years. There's no requirement breeded thirty. You pay off pastor might pay slightly higher interest rate which faster. Right. So that's GonNa be up your money quicker in the long term that's. You more, and then maybe you can do something bike I've I know people. I know them Baxter who you know, pay their homes often again, a home equity line of credit or some sort of line of credit. They can just use that the by other investment properties. So that's using a debt piece to help build and I've seen people do it right Start. Where you star. Tennis another way you might use debt peace even as a personal for less year old partner meaning you have a business is not like L. C. or anything, but you might have a thousand dollar credit card to start a business. You might use that to start the business as opposed to you know a lot of people are like, Oh, well, you know. I have my credit card is just Max out. Well, have you considered ways where you can make money? Use that credit card to make money. So you can pay it off and then you can make money that you don't have to pay that off with but. I'm not saying that in a smart way I think people just don't think about it when they have it in their hand. Like who are discarded about the book, the Trick Cool Travel. But when you come back home, hope your lights are on. You know. So that's ways that you can use different debt pizzas. To Grow. I answer your question. Yes. Yes you did..

"Right? So to bill plus that plus they had like tablets hotspots. Like eleven devices like. How? It back. They were like, Oh, well, you know we want to buy a house. Yeah but you have a mortgage payment in your pocket literally. No one's life. When Drive in one as well. Right that the in think of that way move before for always. Think of it like this. You can get a loan and get a thirty thousand dollar car or you can get alone and by thirty thousand dollar house put a tenant in it. Worked Great. And it was when I want. You know. Oh, the piggyback off of what down dumb had a list of things that had to do with credit. How. Many credit scores are there? S. A lot. What I was waiting to people is this just focus on this right explained to different types in it but I wanna say this disclaimer, I'm making a comeback in get distracted credit. Data okay. So you have Credit Karma. Which is owned by the credit bureaus, right? By which is fair Isaac. Corp or company. So it was two guys that got together in starting. FIDO their names together company desk well back in the eighty. Vantage which was early two thousands, right. While The FICO score of course older. So it's what we consider to be more established. So more lending companies use it for mortgages cars. You know right? The things there wasn't any competition really not my that. Right. As far as like being making big moves, so there's that in Bantu score. Is the credit bureaus and it pretty much assesses the same things, but it just breaks it down slightly differently. Okay. So it's not I. Want People Somebody want to stop somebody goes badges scores. Thank not fake is just the for model. That's what it is. A lot of times when you look at your credit card in light, here's your free credit scores for Bantu score. If you look at the small, it'll be like vantage three point. Oh. By look at look at your s Credit Karma credit sesame does vantage scores. In Credit Karma are FA equifax. There are trying to come out with their own things that are going to start charging you the see your score. Credit Karma of Equifax. Okay. All right. Well. All right. Can you have by go which is again a use for mortgages and everything else what I tell people to focus on is don't get caught up in the FICO score vantage score. If, you're when you're trying to fix it. Okay because or. Trying to fix it because you just want data to be right if the data s reporting on your credit score. Credit report is correct they your scores will reflect whether vantage invite go. Right. Once. You get that corrected then you can work on the credit building piece. Right let me turn them on because it's getting dark. So, why should get it or pair then you can work on the credit building fees. Credit repair it like a free park things. It's making sure that your crater fourth acker intrigued. Educating US you don't continue to make that those mistakes again and it is building your credit. said it when you come out of the program or whatever you choose to do it yourself or go with a program that your scores have grown because you can get fifty things deleted on your credit in if you don't have any positive barnes to grow it is for not it doesn't matter so. What I was saying you WanNa, pull your report, Vicks data the second thing educate yourself. So you're not continuing to make the same mistakes. and MB, religious without. Might be real. Don't we all watch just 'cause I just really want these shoes and I just feel like it's a treat for myself. You need to budget at into your budget budget your treat. That ain't nobody don't do it and then third. Then you can work on your credit builders. So for anybody that is what it essentially is. Basic Way you. Do. You're. Good. I was going to say So. How? How often can you check your FICO score? In the year. As offer really wants. No it's not free then I'd say back aiming Freidan okay. Your credit report is free once a year. Unless you were denied for something and then you can pull it. Based off that. In order, you can ask for them to send it to leave. But remember that your score reflects what's happening that day. Work. This directly from somebody from VICA. This this isn't me making this up. I didn't ask why she said it I believe it. Is, like Jesus on the mainline they said. She said that's why they make you pay right for the credit for. So it's often as you're willing to pay for your predecessor or is often as you can have it. So what I tell people again if you're gonNA whether you'RE GONNA company, go it alone. You should do this anyway care credit monitoring. and I'm happy to share on a lake. If you go to my web page, bankrupt serves a dot com slash credit resources. You can pull your credit from there's thirty dollars but his all three FICO scores it will update every thirty days to provide report and Atlit like live a monitoring rain credits you'll see. Much now. You should do that anyway because there's a lot of data breaches, your member Equifax will backed up for years ago. They had that big breached hundred, forty, four million people that was like everybody. You know you get some people like I mean. Identity theft protection will I can assure you that if you have a four hundred credit score, nobody wants it. You can use it to fix what you need to fix. A and we are here for you. I don't discriminate I. don't care if your scores at zero, three, ninety, one, six, fifty, eighty, six, percent credit reports a wrong. You just don't notice it if. 'cause you? Don't. CARE. So. This big tobacco of. The previous question? Is How important is it to monitor your credit? On a regular basis Malaki you ain't going to let me directly say that it's very important to monitor your credit every day because Equifax had breached and they are the credit they are the Credit Hyder? Because all-girl was made because that's the war down to somebody was. I think it was she basically like here. We're hacking. Thank you. Very important is very important. You should have it go to my page paying credit services, dot com slash resources, the order your credit monitoring today, right Now. Listen you'll know when the next employees be Mad.

My Manson. mind. When welcome? Everybody. Definitely appreciate. Shannon coming on today mistake To drop some knowledge on US definitely excited about today. So let's start. Let's. We do. Go to our. Our pets. Started Watch. Party like it. Go follows instagram scratch Mark Youtube page, but let's get into it man. Miss Shannon. How you back man I'm excited. And the that. We had difficulties on a lascaux man, but listen we. Came back to the show with them. Definitely appreciated. rougher do we just want to jump into it? Right? So it's a credit show. Tell me for the people is credit. Wait a minute now splitter introduce herself. It's no time right Are I'm sorry. I'm so I'm sorry standing. You know what's funny the Mary plates while you're people just thought calling me Shannon now they just call me aiden is crazy. But so I'm Shannon Ambiente repeating credit services and several other businesses and what we focused on helping credit challenge individuals become mortgage ready whether that be fixing your credit for you are teaching you diy, financial literacy things or helping you just what finding your home because we're license real to. So we're trying to do it all here in this. Shop Right. All right. Sorry. I had to check that real quick. Okay. Food Yeah. So that's what I deal. y'All can go ahead and get started with. That I know. So. We're going to say right there what is spreading well. Yes. So what does credit? Well. Arming. Something to show that you can to help grow your score right so or to just. Credits as this borrowing money to get something right but. What people normally think of credit as in your credit. Score. Your credit score is GonNa be yearning miracle value of what your credit report is doing for that day. So if you out yesterday or today and he use all your credit cards. A you pulled your credit score today, they might be nowhere that it would be if you pull next week accu paid on minimum payments are made your payment and pay them off reduce some debts so What most people think credit they think the scoring but to say my credits I. mean it's not necessarily like why is my credit vanishes? All, if you look at it like people do they're just thinking. Okay. What my report says is what I am s reflection mccray. Yes. I think a lot of people. Distort with that the basis of with Zach. Sent me a lot of people don't know creditors don't stand with credit is so I think when you Don't know exactly something that's when you. Have a hard time on the have a hard time. Dealing with it right. So we Take credit right discredit, and even your to extremes like for me when I first about credit I was like man I don't want deal with no credit island doing I want on on nobody as WANNA do. Payers and cats. Right Got People the other people who like mad they they charge on time right in don't know exactly what credits or how it works for us and stuff like that. So I. Think this brings balance actually credit for on something for some. Barbara System. To. If you don't got in the moment. I mean they'll they'll. They'll. As credit is a way for you to get it I mean on A. Stingy you financing or whatever you need. You can attain which one but the trade off is in exchange for that. From state, you know how to handle that. Is Low most people like all credit, a character test. Though if I asked to borrow money for you and I pay you back. Okay. But I got her next time rate. If I keep bomb you're paying. No don't do it, and if I go and ask to mind or the way you gonNa say same thing. Is is just not one word. So, eventually, going to say, Shannon, the bad risks don't give her any money 'cause he's not GonNa pay you you bet, right. So so basic in like your credit score is pretty much your reps, your reputation. With. Exactly who you are. 'cause they exactly you personally on that stuff and all that stuff can be good and charming. But like you said, how they look at it is this who you are. That's how that's how I identify. Right. So the battery in understands having a high credit doesn't have anything to do with how much money make. Nothing. is nothing to do that. It's your ability to pay what you borrow. As long as you pay it back on time, you don't Overdo it. You're not maxing out which borrow in everything you're fine. But if you're maxed out, you're late on your payment you know you're a paintings when you should or excuse me in some instances. Using it in the way which you should so. Piece of credit people don't realize which is something out to talk as people say, Oh, well I don't have anything on my credit, but my credit score is grown. Well, that's exactly why your credit score wrong because you don't have anything on your credit. You have to use it in order to show proof that you can if you don't. Expect anything to come up. You sound you sound like a wise person in the person that wants that to help people. What pushed you to the want to help people with their credit. House homeless. You know we went through a spout. He. Had some hard times. This hardships come up and didn't have anywhere to tell you know being on we didn't make the right decisions all the time that we didn't work and it's.

"Stan what do you have for Gary Payton? You're I want to know who was the best at giving it back to you like Khuda who did you think was a good trash talker. Well, I use those saying good question in two years. I've played against Larry Bird. He was really really really great. He was work. We're one of the best basketball players. I ever see play their ball here. Tell you where he's going to go on a spot here. Say I'll shoot his three in your mouth right here in a corner, and he note here, and he said, I'm gonna take two dribbles and you're going to try to jump it. Then I may hit you and I'm gonna run down on him. A look at you. And it's going to go to the net. And now, it was incredible to me is always going to give us Christmas presents, and it's going to be a jumper in your mouth. Always talking putting up there. The hands around his nag talk about people choking. They couldn't finish. And he hit jump shots in their mouth and lick Ataman. And and look crazy, Michael Jordan on his breath doing things like that. But then three guys was was in the ultimate trash talkers. And I love playing against him. I wish I could play against Larry Bird and a little bit more, but only play visits years, and and they were they were really really really great true or false. Gary Payton, the nineteen Ninety-four playoffs you and Ricky Pierce at teammate are in the locker room, and you're screaming at each other threatening each other's families and threatening to go get your gun. How do you get all these stories? Sorry, mother. You know, you will get you get into t Mason get into fights a lot of things explained in go alone. Too far we met a going too far. But we thought about it afterwards. And then we we fruit around, and we got on the plane to go on a trip, and we sat back in the back and talked about it and it had a beer after that. And everything was good. What are you proudest up? Like, what's the gold medal of Gary Payton trash-talking stories? All level because I was really good at it. So I I probably myself. That's what I used to come on the court to do there's like Santo, Jim when he when he coached me and Miami, I used to come to practice until crazy. That's how it gets me motivated and stare was stand with let us play when while we were scrimmaging, and it would just be fun because we were get I would get more guys. It'd be competitive because they ended it made it more competitive. Gary familiar Twitter break, I'm talking crazy. Heather at someone. What did you bring out? And I know STAN love it because he get more out of practice. You know? So that's what it that's what it took. And know, I that's what I did. You didn't break any player though. You didn't shake any player where you could see? Oh, look, I'm here now. And this guy is totally bothered because of my mouth everybody was Bobby like that they were getting that's what I used to do. That's what that's what I know. I won when you star. Concentrate, no meat and not concentrating on the team. And then all of a sudden you get in trouble. And then sit on the and I'm over there and talking about events and say man how looking over there. Looking at me now. And that's what I need. I wanted to do. And he's over there. He mad and telling me to get get the F away from the bench and wanna fight me and stuff like that. That may not conquered it. I love furious.
