"And see. Hopefully it works well with this guy too. Beautiful. Ali, what did you like about international break? I got a chance to go and play in front of my family. Well, I didn't always get a chance to do. The list is they sent you to the states when you were young, yeah? Just get rid. Well, I didn't think that that was the feeling. Quite exactly. But yes, that was I left Venezuela when I was a teenager. And I didn't get a chance to play in front of my family all that often. And so going back to play with the Venezuelan national team gave me that opportunity. The least favorite thing was actually traveling. Right. Not very smooth in South America. Okay. It wasn't always the most direct way to fly to certain places. And I can only speak about my national team. Let's just say that we weren't always on time. Okay? And we may have gotten stuck in a few places. And it wasn't, that was not enjoyable. The travel logistics were not enjoyable. Right. Stevie? Yeah, the travel but it's easy. Okay. Well, I mean, I think I'm going to tell you this before, but I mean, if you think about it, particularly today, how these players fly everywhere, right? Yeah. You know, if we were playing a game away on a Wednesday, it's Scotland. We would spend all day in the car on Sunday to go to Scotland. Right? We spent all

Robyn Pfaffman: Abrupt Events Surrounding Potential Trump Indictment

"Happening in New York. It's something's going on. They canceled the grand jury for the day. There's a lot of rumblings that things are taking a very bad turn for the DA and nobody really knows what's going on. What do you make of all this? Well, it's interesting. So Alvin Bragg, out of the blue, suddenly the indictment is on ice. Can you imagine the faces of the managers at the mainstream media in the newsroom when they learned this was in the last couple of hours that, oh, nothing's happening today. It's on ice again. We told all the grandeurs to sit down at home and not to come in. I mean, the faces on the managers of the libs that run the country's newsrooms. I could just literally see their faces because all they want to do is get Trump, get Trump, get Trump, you know, it almost reminds me Todd of like, remember back in the day like the hostage crisis, day one, day two, you know, Ted Koppel and nightline, day three is Trump going to be arrested in handcuffs. And it's interesting to me because I think Todd, you know, just off the top of my mind is I say to you all the time and to your audience, they don't understand Trump. This guy is in his late 70s. What is the 76, 78 somewhere in there? Trump has zero to lose. He's a millionaire. He's had his three wives is 5 kids, lost count on the grandkids. I think at last count there's ten. And then, you know, so it's like arrest me. I dare you. Just do it. And he's, you know, kind of called their bluff. I think he's just put a pin in their Goodyear blimp balloon and the whole thing has gone poof. It's very anti climatic. I really, really think it's one of these arrest me, I dare you. He's going the full queens on them. You

"With Gio in the past is in the past and what happened at the World Cup happened at the World Cup and we moved, we moved on from that as players. I think the biggest thing for us as a leadership and all the guys in camp is to see that he's, you know, working hard, training hard that he's wanting to be here. And up to this point, you know, it's been nothing but positive. You know, having conversations with different guys, everybody's knows what he can bring to the table. Everybody knows how talented he is. And to see him come in here with that attitude and the work rate and the desire to be a part of the group and just get back on level terms with everyone without having to overly address it has been a big positive for all the guys to see. Have you had conversations with geo just to try to kind of see where his head is at and how he's been able to kind of work his way back into the group over the first couple of days of training and I know you've got potentially another week together as a team as well. Thank you. Yes, I have. I've had an individual conversations with them. Those will stay between him and I. Because I think that's important to have that kind of line of communication and trust between players between teammates between groups and so yeah, like I said, I've had conversations with them. But those conversations and what he's feeling, what he's seeing, what his worries may be. We'll stay between him and I because I think that's important to allow him to move past everything that's happened. And I think it's important for all of us to be able to move past that and work together as a good team.

Are Dems Setting Precedent for Punishing Political Enemies?

"We've laid out here, if you're looking for a crime, the only crime that had been committed, if in fact a crime was committed was a financial misdemeanor. And for that, the district attorney wants to literally handcuff and shackle Donald Trump. Keep in mind, this is a guy who received $1 million from George Soros. This is a man who campaigned on a promise to get Donald Trump. Letitia James, the attorney general of New York. Campaigned on the same promise to get Donald Trump. They have weaponized the judicial system. Look at what's happening in Atlanta, Georgia, where once again you have a George Soros funded district attorney going after president Trump. That one could get very ugly because apparently they're looking at RICO violations. Suggesting that Trump was trying to coerce the Secretary of State and to changing vote totals in the state of Georgia. But really, this is all about stopping Donald Trump and punishing political enemies. And this is why it is incumbent upon every freedom loving American, and even I would appeal to some of you you Democrats out there who still believe in the constitution who still believe in the rule of law, I have to hope and pray there are still some of you out there. And we all need to stand up and say, we're not going to tolerate this. We're not going to allow you to turn our country into some sort of a, of a Soviet style, police state. We're just not going down that path. Am I grave concern is that Republicans are going to return the favor if they ever get back in control of the House and this pardon me of the Senate and The White House? We can not go down this path as a nation. We can not, we can not be jailing our political enemies.

"I really believe in our system. And I know I know that it is not the perfect system. I do not know of a better system on the planet of earth regarding criminal justice, but I know there are plenty of mistakes. I've seen them. I've been involved in them. There are innocent people who get convicted. There are guilty people who are set free. I mean, but this is not how the system is supposed to be used. This is such and I'll use the initials, BS case. Yep. And a prosecutor, unlike a defense attorney, you know, I don't have discretion as a defense attorney. So a guy comes into my office and, you know, he tells me he's guilty. I don't have discretion to go in and turn him in. Like, I'm not allowed to do that. I have to zealously represent my clients if I choose him as a client. No matter what. But a prosecutor has what's called a quasi judicial function. They have like a judge part of their job. Where they are decision makers and in their discretion, they are supposed to decide which cases to bulldoze full steam ahead and other cases to not prosecute at all. And the fact that they're going after not only that you have a rookie DA Alvin brick, okay? He was just so, you know, he was never an assistant district attorney. Unlike Eric Gonzalez in a Manhattan, unlike I'm sorry, Brooklyn, unlike darcel Clark in The Bronx, you know, they were ADA. So they know how the system works from the inside. He was a federal prosecutor, which is a very prestigious thing, but it's a very different thing. Right. He was a state attorney general. And the assistant attorney general, which is a form of being a prosecutor, but a very different thing. But he is a real rookie

"Burn down a building, you attack somebody in the streets of New York, you commit a violent crime. Ah, no jail time for you. Because it's social justice. We're going to, we're going to let people go free. We're not going to incarcerate the bad guys. But you want to put Trump behind bars and make no mistake. They do. Of course they do. That would be their ecstasy to see Donald Trump incarcerated. And we're all just numb, we're so we can't be shocked anymore. We sit around and we take this and we take it and we take it and I'm really fearful for my country. Because people are going to reach a breaking point. This is bad. This is really, really bad, and I'm sorry. I will be behind Ron DeSantis if he's the nominee. I will be behind Mickey Mouse if he's the Republican nominee. Well, you know, the more we learn about Biden's family finances, Jeff, to be honest, the more really chilling it is in shocking that I absolutely help lately corrupt they are. And that the mainstream media won't report on it. I mean, you got a guy. Hunter Biden. It was basically to be a Frank. He was a life loser. He was involved in hard drugs, prostitution, et cetera and then suddenly he becomes a multi millionaire international businessman. And the only thing that changed in his life was his father became vice president. And his father in 2019 when he was running for president says, hey, listen, wow. I don't know what hunters doing. I don't even associate nothing. We find that to be a lie that he actually met with and helped scores of his business associates. And then lo and behold, the Biden family has 150 suspicious activity reports, which are reports generated by financial institutions when they suspect fraud, money laundering, sexual trafficking, or something along those lines. Sebastian and Chris Kohls Review the Cast Of "Conan the Barbarian"

"Let's start talking about the cast. We have William Smith playing the blacksmith who is the father to Conan, and here we have well, it's about steel and it's a riddle. I forgot the secret of steel and nothing on the battlefield. We found it. I just meant that God's a giant. The secret of steel has always carried with a mystery. He was foolish for Conan. You must learn its discipline. For no one. No one in this world can you trust? Not men that women have beasts. This you can trust. What an incredible, incredible performance. So hypnotics, the manly man. Do you recognize the actor William Smith and where we saw him most recently, Chris? No, I don't. But the funny thing you mentioned how good this performance is, it's actually a relatively small part of film. Yeah. It's just this little sliver of this film. And it's so epic and it's so well done. Excuse me. Yeah. What do you want to see on? Live radio. That's what you want to see. Okay, just brilliantly done. I mean, this is what you can do with such a small part, right? I mean, this is truly a great act of this man. What has he done recently? Well, this is the interpreter. This is the interrogator, the intelligence officer. In real life, in the Korean War, who was colonel in red dawn. Do you remember the colonel who? Of course. Of course I have another movie. Another buddy of milius. 'cause this was first. Right. He gave him a big wig, massive beard, but just, you know, and that scene on the top of the mountain with the clouds going by. It could have been so cheesy, so fake, but it just works. The connection between the sun and the father. All right, talk to us about the rest of the cars. You mentioned some great performances. I'll give you my input, but tell us about the supporting actors. Yeah, you know, I was really struck by the king. This is played by a man named max von Sydow. And I had actually now really heard of this guy before. I've obviously seen him in many films, and I just haven't heard that name. What an underrated actor. I mean, I don't know all the stuff that he's been and I couldn't list you all of his films, but I know I've seen him in many, many projects. And what a fantastic performance. When he's talking about how he's got all this money, he's built up this massive kingdom, but all he cares now is about his daughter that's all he cares about. It's actually a touching performance weirdly

Actor Dean Cain Describes Meeting and Dating Brook Shields

"When you were in college, you were still really into sports, you weren't athlete, you mentioned even after college, how you played for the Buffalo Bills. How did you get connected with Brooke Shields in college? How did you ask her out? I heard you guys dated. So did you kind of see her and think, you know what? I think I'm gonna go chat with her or did you kind of already know you're both a Hollywood or LA connection? No, I don't think that was part of it. For me, just having that knowing that world, it wasn't something that was unfamiliar to me. But she was a year ahead of me. And we ended up having a class together. My sophomore year, religion, two 11. Malcolm diamond, the professor, and I remember I just was waiting for class. It's like, you know, wait for a class to get out. and we were in this big hallway. Staircase kind of going up. And I looked up and she looked at me at the same time, I looked at her and kind of just saw each other, it's mild. That was it. And then we just started chatting here and there. And I really, there's a lot of baggage that would go with dating someone that famous. Even at Princeton, even though Princeton, a lot of the kids were like, oh, we're so cool. We're going to pretend like we don't care that she is who she is. Oh, who cares? And then there was a lot of that stuff kind of going on, but I didn't think twice. I was an athlete and just doing my thing. And then we sort of met. And after we dated a little of my sophomore year, I literally said there's no way. I'm going to ever date this woman. It's just too much stuff. What a pain in the tail. No possible way. And then, of course, my junior year in senior year was still dating there. But that happens. Things change. Things change, yeah. Yeah. Well, I saw that reason. Former Legal Adviser to Michael Cohen Discredits Him

"Tucker Carlson's program last evening, I think we have a tape from this. It's pretty amazing. Attorney Costello came out and because of the waving of the attorney client privilege, he was able to discuss freely and opening openly about his relationship with Michael Cohen, how Michael Cohen is materially lying to quote unquote get Trump. It is an interesting question, is Michael Cohen being incentivized to do this as Michael Cohen being paid or threatened to do this. These are legitimate questions, by the way. And also Jim Jordan is asking a very good question, something that I do suspect, which is is there a coordinated effort? Is there a, quote unquote, get Trump war room? We're going to ask that question in just a second because I think that's actually really interesting. Play cut 22. I called him up after I saw Michael Cohen on TV. Stating things that he said he was going to tell the grand jury and had told the grand jury that were contrary to what he told us when we first represented him in April of 2018. So I'm sitting at home watching these lies, and I said, I've got to do something about it. I don't represent Donald Trump, but I do stand for justice. And I think I have a legal obligation to inform both sides. So that's what I did. And so effectively, if you listen to the entire segment, it's a long segment. He went in and he has the emails and the texts and the phone calls, and he has a sworn waving of attorney client privilege, which I don't know why Michael Cohen signed. That's just really bizarre and strange. All over the place. And he went right in and to the grand jury and basically said, you can't trust this guy. You can't build a case on this. So the entire case is basically built on Michael Cohen saying, Donald Trump had an affair allegedly with stormy Daniels and then he wanted to pay hush money payment, which is not illegal, by the way. You might find hush money payment reprehensible. You might not like it. Unfortunately, it's done a lot in politics. It's done a lot in corporate America. I personally don't like it, but it's part of life. And it's not illegal.

Dean Cain on His Journey From Trailer Park to Princeton to Hollywood

"So dean, your life has been so fascinating. So I wanted to ask you a little bit about just kind of your journey before we talk about more of the news stuff. I saw that you spent some of your childhood in Michigan and then in California. And in high school, when you were in Santa Monica, you were excelling in sports, and you even played some baseball with Charlie Sheen and Rob Lowe. Is that correct? And what was that like? It's mostly correct. I grew up, so I grew up in I was born in Michigan, but I moved to California when I was three. My mom up and took off with her two kids. Her first husband was my biological father. It was not an ideal husband, was philandering and so she left and came out to LA to be an actress with two kids to the Asian kids. And we looked more on my given name as Tanaka. So she came out here with us too, and met and fell in love with my dad. Who she married a year later. And then through a really terrible story actually, a woman was raped and I believe killed in an apartment next to us or right near us. And then the next day myself and a couple other guys, my brother and another couple kids were out playing cops and robbers as they used to back in the day. And I was the youngest and so I wasn't able to have I didn't get to a gun. So I went looking for something and I found the real gun and it was apparently the weapon that was used and that day my dad borrowed, I don't ten, $12,000 from his parents in South Dakota and moved us to a trailer park in Malibu. And I grew up in a trailer park in Malibu, which sounds, you know, like trailer park. Yeah, but it was in Malibu. So we'd spend our days outside all day long on the beach, running around, and I grew up with kids like Sean Penn, Chris Penn Rob Lowe, Charlie Sheen, Emilio Estevez, all those kids were just, we were all just part of this one little Malibu group. I guess all our parents were involved in the business, not all of them, but in some way or another. And so through this weird happenstance, those kids all ended up being actors. Now I played baseball Charlie for a long time. Rob, rob was never the great athlete. Rob even back in the elementary school was just all the girls loved him and he's so pretty. And he loved the girls back. So that was the that was the skinny and rob, so to speak. Charlie very good baseball player. Played on teams with him forever. And then went to high school, Santa Monica high school. And I was a good athlete student. It worked out real well for me. A lot of the kids are madly when they got to Santa Monica worked able to compete at that level, unfortunately. So a lot of the kids stopped playing sports, Charlie continued to play for a while. I don't even know what he did to seeing it if he played a scene here or not. And then I was lucky enough to with my grades and thank you to get the president of the university, had a wonderful career at Princeton. Grew up a lot turned into him and went from a boy to a man there and played very well. I played football. I mean, football ran track and I played volleyball. And then I got a chance to play for the Buffalo Bills afterward, which was great. And got hurt right away. And then it's been acting and directing and filmmaking ever since.

It's kind of a plaid like a light brown and blue plaid, and then I've got a striped shirt on, and I sat in the studio chair today, and I said, guys, I think this is too loud. Yuri, I blame you. What did you tell me about the outfit I'm wearing today? Shakurov, our video producer. Tell me what your reaction was when I asked if this was too loud. I said a few things. I said, I like the way it looks. It looks very unique. It stands out and loud colors sometimes are the right decision. Okay, so here's Kentucky. Hey Mike, a piece of advice from a listener who watched the Salem news channel today. I saw you for the first time by a navy blazer where light blue shirts it will enhance your image to the level of your commentary. This outfit, according to Kentucky, is not enhancing my image to the level of my commentary, Yuri, do you not know I'm supposed to enhance my image to the level of my commentary? Well, that guy navy blue is good. Good one. It's a good outfit. Well, I've got a navy blue. You can't always wear the same thing. My go to outfit as well, but why wear the same thing every single day. You got 5 days a week, right? You don't think this is too busy? No. I think that guy's probably too scared to wear something louder than navy blue. He wants to wear boring navy blue.

Shout Out to the Carpenters Tribute Band & Johnny Mathis

"I got a nice note from a promoter yesterday who heard me talking about that Carpenter's tribute band that I saw over in the same clear Clearwater. Incidentally Tracy who's a lifelong Floridian, she didn't know apparently that they had redone this Ruth eckert hall either. Barb yoder was telling me the general manager used to be real small and kind of a dingy plate now. It's huge. 2100 sheet theater beautiful facility over in Clearwater, and they do some really neat shows and anyway, I went like a goofball, I just went to see the Carpenter's tribute band Sunday, had the time of my life, the lady who was the lead singer, Debbie, oh, dog got it. What's your last name? Debbie Taylor, and this promoter in Wisconsin has worked with her before, and he reached out to her and said, oh, this radio guy, this host, talk show host, loved your show, and she was very nice and said, thanks and everything. Which is nice. You know, it was nice of him to reach out. And after I went to the Carpenter's show, I saw Johnny Mathis is coming to town next weekend. I'm going to go see him next Saturday night. Now, I was about one of the youngest people in the theater for the Carpenter's tribute show. I guarantee you I will be the youngest person at the Johnny Mathis concert. Do you know he's 87 years old? God bless him. Can you believe that? He's still performing. Going around the country, going to Clearwater, Florida, to Ruth eckert hall this Saturday to sing misty and chances are and all those great ballads that he, wow.

"Indicate that this week, Donald Trump will be arrested in New York. No better guests to help us talk about how this is outrageous, then the author of the book get Trump the threat to civil liberties due process and our constitutional rule of law, Alan Dershowitz, New York number one, New York Times Best Seller. Professor Dershowitz, welcome back to the program. Well, you have to admit my timing is pretty good. This book was did you guys did you have an inside source or something at the DA's office and you just timed it up with publication date? No, I just know who the DA is and that he wanted his 15 minutes of fame, but I didn't know when he would indict. You know, ironically, this is the weakest of the four cases that they're investigating against Trump. The weakest politically, the weakest legally, the weakest factually, and yet Bragg wants to be the first out there. Hopefully he's going to think of trying to get money for reelection from George Soros. But in any event, this is one of the weakest cases I've ever seen in my 60 years of practicing law. You know, they work for months and months and months and months and went through every statute and they produced a mouse called Mickey. This is a Mickey Mouse case.

The Popularity of Donald Trump Is About to Skyrocket

"Democrats are not actually playing chess. This is a bad game of checkers, and they're not thinking this through. I say this only in that I know what their motivation is. They want to make sure that he never, ever, ever, ever, gets near the Oval Office again. But by doing this, they actually are going to have a boomerang effect where they make catapult the guy into the Oval Office. I mean, think about this. Who the heck? Are they going to run from the Democrat party? I'm sorry, but Joe Biden has really proven. He's lack of worst as a president between the inflation. You heard me just talking about eggs 6% inflation. We got a banking crisis underway. Who the heck knows what the fed's going to do, by the way, the CEO of key city capital is coming up Thai Lasseter. He's going to talk to us about what to expect from the fed. There are meeting today and tomorrow. We have so many problems. The situation in Ukraine. The situation with China, meanwhile, congressional investigations are turning up allegations that his family, Biden's family was benefiting tremendously from China. So if there's financial kickbacks going on, those are things that do, in fact, need to be investigated. And this is all baggage that Joe Biden carries with him. I do not think that he is electable. Second time around. So who are they going to put forward? Kamala, I mean, my gosh, poor Kamala,

"You know again do you think do you think he's going to get better. Well i mean. I think i think certainly a lot of these countries. These countries in the the central market triangle. Going to get better anytime soon. Might not be anytime soon. And that's why. I think that we have a larger obligation to try to try to help you know to the extent that we can't now haiti will get better. Not not maybe a whole lot. Better not very quickly. It was hit with a lot of things all at once. And that's that's caused some problems. But you know in terms of what lewis someone. I'm gonna i'm gonna jump in one more thing is this is. This is something that has always fascinated me about haiti right. It's it's a divided. Ireland half of it is eighty and the other half is the dominican republic yet. We do not see surge of immigrants from the dominican republic government the the the dominican republic may be Someplace we would consider third world. It is probably does not have the amenities that we have here. But i don't think anyone would call the dominican republic failed state like you would hate it so what's at what point does does our obligation to do. Provide shelter from every failed stayed in the world. you know at some point you say okay We could get rid of tax cuts but You know it's important. I don't think it's it's callous or No i agree with you. That weekend for me is the white. Why should i pay more taxes or these haitians. Who haven't been able to get their act together since the hundreds it's not easy change. Wording district crossed the other side of the island dominican republic have well. It's not obviously these individual haitians. You're not saying that you know you know what i'm saying. The haitian government. Yeah yeah i. I agree with you. Actual haitians are. I imagine perfectly nice people and they're responding in a completely rational way to the situation. Incentives there have been placed before them. Yeah i would agree with you that we cannot do everything for everyone. And that's that's what you're saying and certainly that's true but i also think we can do a lot more than what we're currently doing and so that's that's kind of where i also i wanna point out that this brings into third point about immigration this week. President biden announced the raising the refugee limit. Sixty two thousand five hundred which is considerably more than the.

"It seems to me though the argument boils down to then well if we if we make it clear to people who are suffering greatly that we will take care of them and humane way. Well then more people who are suffering greatly will want us to take care of them inhumane way and my initial thought his yes. Yes to the limit of our capabilities -absolutely. We should do that. And it doesn't seem to me that we're anywhere near the limit of what we could do. If we devoted the proper level of resources to to the situation at the border i mean god knows. We need more in terms of facilities. God knows we needs more in terms of personnel are immigration court system is woefully understaffed and under resourced. And so the answer to me is this is not like it's a new prob right. This is this is an ongoing thing. So the answer to me is is not detect the trumpian position of saying you know what we're just gonna crack down to make it clear that you're not getting through. And that will that will staunch the flow. And i think there's a logic that absolutely the answer to me is just the opposite the beef up our resources enormously so we can help more of the neediest of the needy and that's that's the direction i'd like to see things going so i i guess mild responses out as is. I think it's it's sort of a naive right. Because what's going to keep happening is what has happened right. People view the us as having an open border. And let me let me stop you right there right and say look okay. We'll give you an immigration hearing we'll give you a quick immigration hearing still a lot of those people who've who fled from haiti and a lot of cases. They didn't come directly from haiti. They have been in a third country in central america. Before that op. What do you what do you do. You say look No you don't qualify for asylum but yeah your country's really crummy so you go. And and what point is that defacto a borderless situation. Well see and. I think there's a distinction to be made there. Because you know we have to look at what the asylum rules say. Certainly and the dan make a timely determination as to whether people qualify for asylum under those rules unreasonable people. I think can have a debate. About how generous our asylum. Rules should be to my to my mind. We should first off. Make sure we have the capability to deal with all the requests that we have under under the the current rules. And i don't think you disagree that we don't really have that capability no we don't and so what we're we're stretched thin and were spending ending. His federal spending gone up or down on this. It's up. I mean we're debating three point five trillion more in spending to say we have you know we have a lot of resources but those resources are not limited. I see i think if we have the resources i mean i would say to cut taxes by one point five trillion over ten years we can. We can certainly do this. This is not in the grand scheme of things. This is not a budget breaking sort of thing. This is the right thing to do. And what not and it will but it will be over time. I don't think so. No i disagree. I disagree more. You encourage.

"The intention for them is to be quarantined. And they're not intending to stay here for any lengthy period of time. And that. When i heard that this is just this is just double. Speak that these folks were just vacationing from your no. I mean i think it also seems to me difficult for me to believe that given all of the logistical capabilities of the united states government. That we couldn't set up some sort of humane temporary quarantine testing Vaccine system at the border four this surge of people. Maybe we can't. But i just it's i find it very very difficult to believe that that's the case and so i just find this to be an unacceptable unacceptable decision by the by administration put things in perspective. Though when we're talking about the deportations which i do not find to be unacceptable at this point Last numbers ice of the thirty thousand haitians that have arrived more or less since the middle september. Two thousand have been deported. Back to haiti. So that that leaves a pretty big number that that have not been Deported end again from the the numbers. I i read something on the level of Twelve hundred or twelve thousand. Five hundred have been essentially released in the united states Ending at some point a in asylum. Hearing i suppose another approximately eight thousand returned to mexico With with the intention to try again and there are another six thousand or so that are are sort of in process. I guess right that are being being held in a requested asylum. I'm not exactly clear Without an also it's it's not at all clear that those numbers really add up to thirty thousand but that that said i you know i guess the like say at the bar mike. I mean you. You don't have to go home but you can't stay here What you know how to me. I i guess if sending someone back to haiti haiti absolutely a hell hole but what. What's the what's the alternative You said you look at we. Could we could have Some sort of humane Quarantine facility that. Also you know another words for the as cages right Says it doesn't have to be. That's what i'm saying. I mean there's there's there's something between putting people in cages and just sort of letting them roam about the country freely so lit. But here's this goes back to original question. Then of what message does it send in incentives and when president biden says. We'll look the borders close on. Come here but if you do we'll put up someplace. Pretty nice and i get that treatment will get you. You know well you know we. We're gonna fire those mean border patrol people who tried to prevent you from from crossing We're we're going to lower the hammer on those guys. Let me tell you and We'll set up someplace nice And if i'm haitian and i say well at this point over twelve thousand of the folks Who who attempted this crossing crossing or now in the united states Free to go about do whatever they want. pending some immigration hearing probably next year. I'd say oh my odds are pretty good. I get that and a seat..

"Down all the top almost all the top political podcast. It's clear most people don't want to have their views challenge and they're just not interested in really seriously considering or trying to understand opposing viewpoints. That's what we're all about. That's what we've always been about. And the fact of the matter is that's why we're always going to be a niche audience. We're not we're never going to be a top ten or top fifty podcast because most people aren't able to handle with earn a place where they can deal with the sort of thing that we try doing. And as you point out j it's an ideal and we don't always we get some things wrong. Sometimes we could push back more or make better arguments. But but i think in the end. This is why. I'm so grateful for the listeners to do support. Because i know that the people who engage in the cancel culture stuff and all that on on our show. Even are a small but vocal minority. And that's why. I realized that really do appreciate listeners. Who've been supporting us and keeping us going because there aren't many of us out there folks you know and so the fact that you come back week after week and you appreciate what we try to do. Understand that you know. We're we're flawed human beings and we appreciate constructive criticism and that you know. Sometimes we're gonna we're gonna make arguments either whether it's me or j. that maybe you're not comfortable with the vast majority of of you have pulled us time and time again that that's what you really appreciate about the show that you do that. We do occasionally challenge your views and make you think about things. And that's what we're all about. And i just wanted to take a few minutes at the beer at the top of this show to remind people that for people who are maybe new to show them no give them sort of some of the history there and i mostly just thank our listeners for being willing to.

"A so before we do get to that. First story that arizona audit cyber ninja thing. I wanted to take a little bit of time and talk about what we're all about here at politics guys and i think the reason why i feel like this is particularly important for us to do now. Is that as listeners. Know when the last few weeks. There's been some i would say not insignificant low back concerning remarks. Kristen made about kovic vaccines. And we're not gonna get into that specific cop or christians us on it again. I think and candida great job of getting into that. I'm last week. Shell but what. I think we should talk about. Is the larger issue here and that is what it means to be as we say every single week in the intro. The show a place for a bipartisan. Rational and civil debate on american politics and policy. And this isn't just a kristen thing. Either i mean jay. You're regularly attacked for what's what listeners. Sometimes called bad faith arguments or mindless. I guess you could say feeling for what's often called republican propaganda. Gop causing sort of ironic a lot of ways. Yes and you know. I've come in with the serbs. I yeah we're at as a badge of owner. Yeah well i've actually come in for some criticism to though usually it's because i'm not seen is challenging you or kristen enough. There was a comment. This last week on bipartisan politics. Ready group that. I am allergic to challenging conservative propaganda and i have been since two thousand sixteen and it was. It was a pretty popular post. Got a lot of votes. And i thought why are they. They heard what i've said about the trump administration ally. But as you should you should have known him back. "Guys radio program here on a Sunday between three and four. We bring you up to date on what's been going on in the travel there's and with the latest, of course, here's Mark. Well, here's the deal what some of us have been hoping for in clamoring about for quite a while. It looks like it's happening. The Department of Transportation is investigating airlines that delayed refunds during the pandemic. You see, a lot of airlines told people mistakenly, I'm sure That they weren't eligible for refund in many instances where they were or the native jumped through a lot of hoops that they shouldn't have had to jump through. And eventually people got tired of jumping through the hoops hoops and took the travel credit. When they should have gotten a refund. Uh, Department of transportation just to give you an idea. Um, they had 30,000 complaints about 20 different airlines. That failed to provide passengers with prompt refunds. They mentioned this is very interesting. They mentioned specifically that the agency closed their, uh, examination into complaints of United Airlines and Air Canada. Because they said that those two airlines had responded to, uh to the passenger complaints and had done their very best to take care of all of them if they could. And had apologized to customers. Apparently that would indicate that some airlines have not done that yet. But the department of that knock you here on the door. If you're a CEO of an airline, that's the Department of Transportation coming to tell you. That you screwed a whole lot of people and your day has come. And now you get to make good for all of those people. So you know what? Every once in a while, The little guy wins one and I think we're about to win this one. At least United Airlines and Air Canada were convinced of that because they bellied up to the bar and took care of things. So that's that's nice to hear that everyone like I said, every once in a while the guy on the street wins one. The system is Supposed to allow that to happen. And that may be indeed what is happening. So if an airline still owes your refund, remember, if you settle for a credit, or you canceled first, and then they canceled and you got a credit, then you're not eligible for refunds. So Um, you you may already be in a position where you where you can't You know you don't have any movement. But make sure that you use those vouchers because the airline is counting on the fact that you won't Hear about the two travelers. It submitted fake vaccination cards before flying to Toronto. This seems to be something that comes up once a week. Now they each got fined nearly $16,000. While Yeah, uh They they falsified their documents and tried to get into Toronto. Yeah, And it's not going to work too well for them. So my suggestion to you is, if you're using a false vaccine card, make sure the name of your vaccine is properly spelled because Uh, Moderna has become Madeira in some cases, and that's pretty much a dead giveaway that you have a fake card when the name of the vaccine company is spelled wrong. I wanna be just easier to just get the vaccine and get the card and be done with it. It would. It would seem what's funny to me, Tom? It really and truly is hysterical to me. Someone pointed this out last week. That people who are all afraid that the vaccine contains. You know something that's going to allow them to be tracked or something like that. These are the very people who are walking around every day with a cell phone in their pocket. And every movement that they make is bouncing off of a cell tower. And at night even if they turned her cell phone off at night, their cellphone is sending information to different entities all about them. All. These people knew all kinds of things about you and I And stuff like that, and so, being concerned, I don't get it. Somebody who uses a cell phone as he is concerned. The vaccination is going to allow someone to track them put the damn cell phone down would be the first thing that I would do if I was concerned about someone tracking my whereabouts. Southwest Airlines go ahead. Have you ever Noticed that you know what you once in a while you'll get something. It'll show up on your phone either On your text messages, your e mails and it'll it'll offer you something that you were. You were looking for. You know, you did a little scrolling around and you clicked on it. And so now, the cookies and all and now you're getting information about whatever that car or whatever was that you're looking for. I've seen stuff show up on my phone. Of stuff that I have not looked for. But I have talked to others about in the room with my phone. And I swear my phone is listening, and then it's it's It's spamming me cookie me into and then and then offering me some of the things that I was talking about. So I figure that one out. I bought an airline ticket to Oklahoma City last Tuesday. And for the rest of the and then looked up a couple of attractions in the area because I'm going to a meeting and going in a day early, and that's the route 66 City. So for the rest of the week, every time I logged onto my phone or my laptop I got a message regarding in Oklahoma City Hotel. Uh, because they figured if I'd bought an airline ticket, and I was looking at things to do that I probably needed a hotel room. And in this case, they didn't know that already had one. But nonetheless, yes, you're You're absolutely right. Alright, rolling along here. Southwest Airlines is going to continue the alcohol ban on their flights and into 2022. That means you cannot buy a drink an alcoholic beverage on a southwest plane. I guess this isn't too surprising, since Southwest has had their share of passengers who have misbehaved. And have given it to flight attendants. In fact, and I believe don't I believe the president last week specifically mentioned in his speech in one in his speech, Uh, about Covid that, you know, give the flight attendants a break. Good grief, show him a little respect. I mean, there there, too. I thought that was kind of an interesting sidebar that he threw that he that he mentioned that the flight attendants and through that in talk tours that we mentioned that they're requiring their guests to be 100% vaccinated on all cruises and tourists. No exceptions, Um, like large number of international tour companies, and many national tour companies are joining that list. So if you are planning if you've already scheduled or you're planning an organized vacation with a tour operator any time in the upcoming months, make sure you check those policies if you are someone Who does not wish to vaccinate because many of them now are not allowing people to even test before they head off on a on a tour. Ah, let's see here. What else have we got? Hamilton is starting up in Sacramento next week. This will be the first time in the new theater. Downtown. So maybe somebody who goes to Hamilton starting Friday will call us next Sunday and let us know how it was. I will be out of town, so I will not be there. And let's take just a minute here. Before we wrap up the news and talk. There's been a lot of stuff about 9 11 and a lot of ceremonies, and I'm sure a lot of tears shed in the like this week, the 20th anniversary of 9 11 was yesterday, but I thought it would be interesting just to reflect back on how travel has changed since 9 11. Remember before 9 11 Airport security was kind of a joke. It was run by people who weren't released security people in most cases, and you went through something that was supposed to detect if you had a gun or something like that, and that was pretty much about it. And then came 9 11. And all of a sudden you had to take your shoes off after the gentleman a few months after tried to shoot thing with the gun on the plane bomb on the shoot em, right? Yeah. Yeah. And so T s a became a much more You couldn't take liquids of more than 3.4 ounces. And I remember flying right after 9 11 and they took away my little portable. Disposable razor. That was in my carry on bag because we were kind of overreacting a little bit and you weren't allowed to take any of those kinds of things. Those things have got have relaxed a little bit. Um, we didn't have long lines at security. You didn't have to think about if you were traveling at a busy time about that security might be 30 or 45 minutes or an hour. Remember how you used to go to the gate? And send people off even when there was security. Yeah, Yeah. Yeah. You had to go down. You could go all the way literally to where they got off the plane and greet them when they came to town. Yeah, but now Uh, no greeting at the gate. No. So there have been since 9 11. A lot of airline consolidations. Bailouts, Uh, taxpayer money. On a lot of times, Delta merged with northwest in 2000 and eight Continental. Morphed into united in 2012. Americans bought out US Airways in 2013 to the extent now, uh, the legacy airlines. There are the big three. And then you could probably count Southwest. Um, we're going to talk a little bit. Ah, with Chris Elliott when he is on with us next week about a brand new airline has started up on the East Coast called breeze. But anyway, there has travel has become particularly airports. Have become a lot more complicated..

Chris Elliott Air Canada Delta Oklahoma City Southwest Airlines Southwest United Airlines Toronto Sacramento 2013 30 2012 Tom Friday next Sunday US Airways 2000 100% yesterday next week

They're they figured it out they. They are the the summit league they are the class. the summit league so with that mind dislike. Don't screw it up in your conference tournament and you're in and anything can happen. And then i think i think they'll be i will i will say this. I think the first beller me beller men beller. I said something about bellarmine in our last episode or beller minor beller men or whoever they are but they were d. to forever I had a fan reach out very upset that i don't know how to pronounce beller men. I think it's bellarmine is what he said but maybe beller but regardless they were d. forever. They won national championships. And they just bumped up the d. one and They are the new south dakota state. They're going yeah. They're gonna win a tournament game too so You know clearing out clear. Not all the next up. We got a joel dulwich. He says please talk. About how much coach case sucks. Okay we'll do. That would take all day we. We can't spend all day doing this but we will say. This is the coach k. Farewell tour we are the boob brothers and we will be. There receptor the way as coach k. Waves goodbye to the good people of college basketball. So don't you worry about that. What if what if we don't get respect before we start booing respect calling my shot brad. Davidson takes down coach in. Ncaa tournament to god wisconsin overdue cash. That has to make america. love him like i knew. It would be great too. Because brad davidson you know four wisconsin fans after two thousand fifteen right redemption. Right gay coach k. Outta here brad. Davis forever remembered as he killed tobacco. Road and and coach k. Is killed by his own monster. You know it's a frankenstein deal where he like he built this monster of scrappy white guys taking charges and then that's what kills him and that's what's it. It's so poetic imperfect and brad davidson. I feel like it. America has to love him at that point. If that's his legacy to college basketball is. I ended roy williams and coach gay. I mean come on williams out of that. I mean it's it's a very i we can forget about roy. Williams takes coach gay. That'd be great brand. He's he's he's just called the coach killer and like as you get into coaching. He's just a coach. That's his is. Like i coach killer and he's i don't know maybe he goes out to go to state. Yeah and he takes over as the coach. South dakota state ellerman next up. If kansas starts making noise in the regular season or goes on a playoff front at what point is it except a playoff run with the hell Our point is acceptable.

"He has graduated. I i want to clear that as well a lot of people. When does this guy to get graduate. He has graduated. he's now getting an advanced degree. Okay malone but I guess is his advanced. Degree is something educate He was doing advanced his advanced. Degree was deal where he had to like. Explain it for five minutes. I was just laughing at the absurdity of that rose. We've gone too far as the education system in this country too far. If you just say like chemistry for what your what's your advanced degree and you can't be like chemistry. Come on doing. yeah. I mean you're just trying to have classes so you can play basketball. We know his leg of the del e. d. l. j. p. program it's it's education development learning and masters of junior psychology. And what we do is. And i'm like my god dude. What there's a chance that bread davidson has a has a tape recorder on him. And he gets greg guard out of their. And that's what. I think bob i was asking about that i was asking about is like is greater He said something about like education. And i'm trying to do sports. What whatever the hell you wanna coach. He's like absolutely he's like ever since i was little. That's all i've wanted to do is be college basketball coach. So keep an eye on that list. What do you think your rid of this guy. Going to pop up as as wisconsin head coach. Brad brad. Calabrese great answer. I think a guy wearing a dress the swag that he has and the fact that he knows where the bodies are buried in lexington. And all that. that's for sure. Of course he could also go to another program at us. What he learned from the kentucky faithful you know to to his to his advantage to say the least and then i think west miller is like a a below the radar. I think west millard. Yep backdrop there at cincinnati and then that's going to get him a job at you know a blueblood like an arizona or you know who knows what happens with him but he's another name i would throw out there. Could as you look around college basketball we need more backdrop irs. You know with it seems like a lost art form. Because we'll wade is actually not you know doing the proper artform here. You know he is. He's actually blowing up backdrop as much as we call them the bag either week and i think that's hurt as a ripple effect amongst his peers. Because they can't even join to the game. How old are we talking. Say young. I think under under okay because i was going to throw out. Yeah we'll wait is yeah. We'll wait is. I just looked up. I got a name for you that he's not as young as i thought he was. But it was. It's an off the radar guy. That doesn't get talked about in the backdrop in circles. That i think is is making some serious moves with the bags right now. Joe pasternak At ucsb a man. Who has the adidas connection. Amanda that ucsb wanna term. A game less your. They should've had lost. That's right that's right. Who do they. Who do they. Almost beat corey mclaughlin They were the twelve seed in. They were playing. That's right they were the twelve five upset special. then we we we had you creighton creighton creighton creighton. But pasternack is He's he's got these these ties state he adidas with with ucsb. I believe they're sponsored by. Dita's i i i. I should double check that. But you're correct. I see i see. Yeah i see the railroad my head and it's it's their data school. he coached. arizona was shawn miller which nuff said. They're also he. He went to indiana so he's got like the He could flip. This is why. I think it's it's it's a. He's he's a great name even though he's forty four which is a little disappointing. I was hoping he was like thirty. Eight as well He could play the indiana like bob knight disciple card. Get in front of people. Button it up and be like i would. I would never do that like bob. Knight taught me better than to drop left right and then as soon as he steps away from that. He's the shadow johnson name now. Also throwing danny peters just because he's here and he also from the sean mother coaching trees so he will it. Eighty peterson grew up a hard. Uc bearcats dan now. Coaching staff at xavier. Anybody who's willing to sell your soul you got to keep an eye and he's now at a private school. Let's keep it. That guy. Chris back vibes already. Danny like it. I don't like it at all. I think there's a good answers though. Yeah that's the best. Also what about greg oden. How about that. I did see that. That's five stars. That's a five star moved by. Chris oldman coach. Let's go bring in greg. I feel like greg should have been on staff years ago at this point. I'm we didn't graduate. I think that was the price. You never had his undergraduate degree so they brought him back to be a manager. He was literally a manager. Like just said undergrad. Manager like i was to start my best walker That's great doing and then he graduated finally so now. They brought him on his graduate assistant. He's going to be working on a definitely not bullshit degree. Yes his both read without davis's so hard. I think that we should do a raking assistance across the country. Like greg ode and rasheed wallace some of these guy like and we updated list during the season. But can we just solicit. We solicit donations from their agents or to pay us. And we'll say your your job doing our job he's doing like he's the head coach. Really sure w came kelly. He says huge fan of the pod. Thank you can't very kind. A recent grad from murray state shot out the job iran and newly engaged. Shutout the you guys thinking about having my bachelor party in memphis december tenth and eleventh to watch murray state played memphis in the grizzlies. Play the rockets any way we can get you guys inferno to join huge fans and we'll be tuning in weekly again cam. Kelly the name that right. We're talking about going in memphis so this was the. What was the timeline descending sedated december eleventh and and what were the games again gains. I want to believe what we have. A five year at murray state is playing a memphis and the play the rockets but this is the weekend this friday saturday and then we were upcoming sunday to tuesday. We were talking about 'cause like right. After they play. Murray state i think memphis plays alabama right. Yes which is a. I'm sorry but who who wrote it. Who's the marine kelly cam kellyanne..

"It's it's it's it's dead serious. I'm dead serious. When i say brad davis in is going to try to squeeze every drop eligibility out of this not not to torture victim fans but because this man there are big men on campus state. I have i have You know i've i've followed a with greg ode. I don't know if i've talked about before what i would walk around with a big man guess and i would walk around with gregg on campus at ohio state. And i think a brad davidson at wisconsin is still somehow a bigger deal than than greg oden is at a at ohio state. And i don't know how how that could be possible but it is this man. Your time he had more time is nothing to do with gregg. He just had more time he loves loves loves. Loves loves this college. And i understand why after after going on and anyway. He's he's like he's like can i. Do you think. I could play sports i see. Jr smith playing golf. Like i get on that. Never looting so anyway. That's a report from madison. I'm having a great time It is it's really pissing me off on much. I like this frustrating buddha. I see brad davidson davidson wrestling. You know what i mean like. I'm just trying to think about what other sport he checks out like. If you went into wisconsin's wrestling programs. That i want to be part of this and then became a professional wrestler on the other side where he's a character he's like the god god flops. Yeah yeah it'd be like that's like cia. His his whole is all stick is a wrestler is just babied. Other wrestlers into cheated into getting cues also has gone on his side. There's a bright as he walks in every single time shuts down there like a choir sing and their. That'd be i. I told him you should be a holder for the football team. Move is the holder in the Now but he's a. It was a good time so that's not not a not a nothing to juicy report other than bradley. He's kept turning looking like every time we would go around campus at every stop we make you just tournament be like why would i believe just kept saying that over. Never gonna leave. I get never grow up basketball forever. It's it's literally indefinitely and now to coach gay indefinitely. We're talking bulla. I this. This should be your crusader. Just keep your legacy college basketball is like you push the limits of eligibility and you get like bilas on your side already. Has he's coming back next year. Fifth year. Yeah the global pandemic. That was that allowed brad to come back to wisconsin basketball. When i'm saying like started like we paid the players. Now we need to get rid of eligibility. Then that's just pleader forty did anyway enough enough of that let's Let's let's let's interesting meals. What you okay. Let's do it to go to the mailbag. I wish there was come on. Jim put something together for so. That could be fun. should i should. I should just knock it off. We just start going through this. All right yeah yeah. I guess You send some of them to me. And i started read them and i realized i like it better when i don't yeah i don't know what's coming so the best. It's the best all right. Well i'll start off. This is from alexander rawson who wanted to let us know that he was a representative of chicago's big ten team aka. The loyola ramblers tate started a feud with sister. Jean the tar heels have made only one sweet sixteen the same amount of sister. Jean having less five conference titles sister gene does over that same period not to mention. Unc's famous old person. Roy williams was run out the job while sister will turn one to how. How many birthdays have It's still going strong I was wondering just you want to call a truce with the eternal sisters. You at zeke can get back to. Its winning ways. Does he have anything you want to say to the haters. Can i say this. Can i say this. I i do think that you need to think about this From a pr perspective that you listen. I don't want to be mad. I still wanna be morbid. I don't wanna be you know. I don't want to put bad juju in the air but sister. Jean will leave this earth at some point. Not it'll happen brad. Sea brad davidson i. I think he's going to keep holding on every lord willin she's gonna last another one hundred years But but you know that time might become in sooner rather than later tate. And i guess what i'm saying is i think it would be smart of you to bury the hatchet like you. Don't want a time where you don't want to do the move. That people did with kobe where he dies. And then everyone's like doing podcasts. Where they're like dude. I actually all that shit. I talk about kobe so life that was that was a bit. I actually love. This is my favorite most favorite to turn heel on themselves. You know what i mean. you're talking about. We loved kobe but like also. We know who. Kobe was. So yeah i think that's my sister. Jean outlook so but what i'm saying. I think you've got a time this 'cause like i don't want you to do it now. I don't want you to be like okay. I'll bury the hatchet now because we still feel like you squeeze some more juice out of later being a anti sister. Jeanne but at some point you gotta like bury the hatchet. You gotta time at words like you know perfect that that that when that day comes again not. I'd hope it doesn't come soon. But when that day comes you can have a clear conscience. And you'll have people saying you did this date or i think that you know the original issue right. Original hatred came from the fact that in two thousand eighteen. She took all the spotlight away. You know away from this team that deserve to be discussed deserve the be front and center. Even porter moser was was not even getting interviews zero role in sister gene in front of him and the whole team sitting in the background. So i will say my. My disdain went down a level you know like when the grinches heart grows like a couple of sizes. My heart grew to sizes when cameron crowe wig was the star. You know what i mean. This year he was the face of the loyola ramblers. He was the one that we were all talking about. Sister gene was secondary instead of primary. So like i think she internalized the haters. You know she internalize people like me. They're calling her out. He said this time around. I'm gonna stay out of the way. I'm gonna let cameron quote would be the star so i think she did a lesson so i've dialed it back a little bit. You know what i mean. It's not it's not a full hate on I respect that. She grew into you know who she is as a mascot. Whatever you wanna call it okay. How about this to this. Perspective that In college basketball as we know it's usually about the coaches in an nba. About the players. Those those would drive the discussions right for loyola Typically the coach should be the face of the program and the and porter moser is no longer the coach at loyal tate. He's now at oklahoma. So if you look at the team that was around that went to the final four and where loyal the basketball is now. There's been one constant. The only constant insist gene so in that regard like she is just the defacto face of the program because there's so many shuffling gait shuffling in and out. We need a constant. We need like the coach k. Figure that's like. I will be here taking thin no matter what happens. I've not going anywhere. So maybe like maybe. That's an easier pill to swallow. She's not a flash in place she's proving that she's going to be around for the long haul if we look up and she's wearing kentucky stuff this year. Oh i think we're packed hater. But she's not she's loyal loyal loyal loyal loyal that cisco well they go. Alex is our first. I answer for you. I think this is a great one for utah..

"That if we can't even envision it fucking on i grew. Everything was said but in regards to that that fight against the voter suppression piece. We got to be willing to use the power that we have so one of the things we did in georgia was we started this whole corporate accountability campaign where we said look corporations we. We had researched that said. Oh delta is giving x amount to the very people that are pushing these bills right so we said we got a call amount and we got hold them accountable right. We tell. You can't have it. You can't be asking us to be your employees and be your your consumers and living off of us independent on us while you're funding are suppression right and so we did a whole corporate accountability campaign to fight back against that. George bill to fight back against the florida bill to fight back against the texas bill in texas. It works right. All of it worked because at the day. That's what movement is right. We started in georgia. Couldn't stop the billing georgia but create a momentum that then let us stop the bill in in in texas people who say that you know. Voting doesn't matter are people who say. I don't like any of the candidates. So i'm voting. You write the truth of the matter. Is you have to understand about this anti popularity contests this talent. Show the end of the day. Somebody if anybody has done any social justice work. I can tell you the difference when i go into a courtroom that we're for. Da absolutely if one day is in office. Pulse another da. That can make a difference between our people get time in jail or twenty years to life. Having a judge in place that has lease more accountable to community makes a difference for us so we have to really see this as a harm reduction strategy. Also we had to put. People imposition corey bush. Being in position this system been in position being voted by young fold as a result the entire process around housing eviction. Her actions matter so for us to not right. You don't have an analysis of power if you say it doesn't matter at the end of the day is really around how you going to use the tools to actually advance your community and voted is one of those. Every single aspect of our lives is impact by voting five. Something isn't recently met with Kamala harris how was that meeting. It was actually a really good meat. And now it's actually you know 'cause you know she's a good sister. I will say this. That i have been to several photo ops right or they're scripted pieces of what you gotta say. What can't say i did. That wasn't that meeting that meeting. I felt like it was a genuine We were we were given the space and a lot of time to be able to share what we thought at to hear from more about what she was doing that we didn't know and so in that space in that spirit actually felt like a really good meeting. I think we learned and there was an exchange and some of the suggestions we may you know. I think she's taken that on as well and so in that space. That's part of reason. Because i have been to the white house beings where they've like Here your photo by i. We have more tasha brown and cliff albright from black voters. Madison don't move. Is the breakfast bubka morning morning. Everybody is dj. envy angelini the guy. We oughta breakfast club. We're still kicking it with tasha brown and cliff albright from black voters matter. Shallow you know. It seems to me and i love the word jolly using accountability. Because it seems to me like we're not holding democrats accountable enough because there seems to be no sense of urgency in the democratic party in regards to voting rights. They're clearly trying to take away black people's rights to vote. And when you hear the joe mansions of the world's say things like they're not even willing to do carve-outs sway to preserve our voting rights. What that make you. I mean it makes us upset right. That's why we've been in these streets. That's why we've been leading protests At the senate office buildings right to the to call him out to say that they got in the filibuster right and that's why we let them march just last week at the white house. Tell president biden and you got to pick a side. You can't give a speech where you all pass it talking about the biggest tax voting rights since since the civil war and then in almost the very next sentence you say ooh but i like me that filibuster kick. You can't do that. You can't play both sides. You gotta make aside. And so we're we're serious when we say we got to hold them accountable and we got to recognize the differences between president senate congress even the state levels right because you can make the argument you look at you. Look at the texas democrats like they're taking it seriously. They left their state to fight this fight right and so you got different pieces of who the democrats are but the ones that we need right now are not stepping up. The senate has not stepped up enough for the president clearly has not stepped up enough. We even have to put pressure on the house right now. Because here's the deal. The housing problem right. They pass the four people there about the past starting on monday the about to pass the john lewis voting rights act heck for the past month for four members of the congressional. Black hawk has been in the streets with doesn't got arrested but we still need to do more because right now they've got leverage. There's an infrastructure. Bill right that the senate was all excited about because they just passed. Biding all excited about it right. But guess what it got to go back to the house And the house can say. Look until you act on. Hr one is called hr one because it was their first priority. They said it's the most important bill to us. The for the people act. That's why they call the hr wants. The house can say look until you act on our priority. We not acting on it infrastructure. Bill they got the power to do that. We got we gotta do. We gotta do and right now. That means we've got to be doing more direct actions. We gotta be in the streets. We got to be willing to do some civil disobedience. it's going to take that level. It shouldn't take us much to get something that we were supposed to have with the fifth amendment in eighteen seventy. It shouldn't be this hard. But if if this is what it's going to take them. We're gonna step up in in rise to this moment. Joe biden's presidency so far you know we're not going to say means nothing right Kobe bryant the relief the first relief bill the style tax credit. You know Some of the stuff on infrastructure. This stuff happening right. So we ain't done nothing but on the defining issue voters person is a violent crime because you have voters person at least the policies they have violent impact on our lives right. So there's some stuff that he's done but he's got to do more and especially when the issues that are the issues that are folks wanna see black folks want to see action on voting rights folks wanna see accidental users. While we still waiting on we still wait on jobs what we still got the breed act right. They're still to be dealt with. That goes even farther than the george. Floyd we wanna see some some Student debt cancelled. I'll tell you that personally we wanna. Hr forty one see some reparations. So there's some stuff happening but on the defining issue of voting rights and other issues that are impacting our communities. He's not moving fast enough. We need them to keep that same energy here for infrastructure. We need him deal to have that same energy when it comes to stuff that our communities have demanded right now queen brown. How would you answer saying i'm did did all with my brother What has been most disappointing. Like why the hell we find. Like this level rate slam dunk right at the end of the day. This let's be clear. Joe biden would not be an office right now has been from black voteless. We did move on him. Rights candy.

I you say god. But i don't know we're not gonna die through everybody who vaccine vaccinating. We'll get that way. He broke it down. I mean it's not wouldn't be the first time but way he broke it down like oh okay so whether the misinformation is wrong and not it sounds it sounds authentic and it spreads all over social media and people believe it. How long have say we got. He said uh three to five years ball out there. That's that's the wrong mentality to have. I did three to five years. I just want. I just i just want i just want some real concrete information even even when i went to the doctor the other day like the doctor really like cheese side and then just broke down. How the cdc is changing things every single day it confuses her and her staff. She don't even know what to tell people. At this point this is an actual doctor. I guess i don't know so many different things because you know you speak to some say definitely get it. It'll pretend you speak to some doctors. Say hey they don't they don't know doctor that said that he won't cheat anybody that's not vaccinated because he doesn't want people to Put themselves in a position where they could die just from not being vaccinated. So you don't treat. Well what if they take something. Killing them won't reduce ethical ethical jealous. I got back soon after cancer. You're on your own whatever. Come on man really jal nuts definitely not the call. I don't even believe that. Dr day. And i'm gonna tell you right now because i was reading an alabama doctor jason. Valentine's says he won't treat unvaccinated patients in the washington post. Tv must be getting slandered for that. That's insane all right. Well let's get to show crack front page news. What we're talking about. I'll let's talk about a website for all the creators out there. They've been making a lot of money on here but now they might have to figure out something new all right. We'll get into that next breakfast. Locomotor was happening. Everybody is tj envy. Angela yee shlomo in the guy. We ought to breakfast club in front page news for we saw it and you were only fans is going to ban sexually explicit content. I think we saw all of this coming we. Well i guess moving forward if they wanna get funding if they want to be able to appease the banks and financial transaction services that they use they have these requests stop with the explicit imagery so now nude content consistent with its policies will be allowed but i guess anything explicit is not allowed moving forward. So toby i thought that was the whole idea of only fans that it was you know. People were explicit. People were showing their bodies and having sex and selling it. That's what i thought. Maybe i was wrong. They have one hundred and thirty million users. Two million creators. They've paid out five billion dollars to models and performers. But you know you can see that as of late they've been trying to get a lot of content on their from people that aren't doing adult content so they've done deals with a lot of people. They reached out to me to try to do you. Envy yeah the real estate owner yet. Yeah so they've done that. But i guess if they wanna get certain funding they have to get the adult content off of the site. I hopefully start regularly normal social media. Like i say i've been saying this forever on social media that has the same fcc rules and regulations that radio and tv got only fans is considered social media and thirty million people on their broadcasting. That's like an decided that's broadcast private canton. You have to subscribe so it's not like it's just available. You have to have a credit card. You have to go to each person's page subscribe. it's kind of like They have those chat rooms. Like those porn chatrooms live jasmine. A you have to pay for guinea where people broadcast especially when the number of people that should be. Fcc regulated when. He's an instagram noon. And they.

Eight hundred sixty million dollars. What's crazy about. It is that i could go into bed. Bath and beyond and get a puzzle for fifteen dollars and ninety five cents. That probably looks just as good as davinci shepherd. A little squiggly lines in between because the house always wins play long enough. You never changed the stakes. The house takes you unless when perfect hand comes along you bet and you bet big then you take the house. Oh and the nice guys on business.

So if you missed the broadcast get the podcast beer guys. Ray was available on all popular and unpopular podcasting apps. Now let's get back to the gr fifth anniversary. Show the show the reunion show so we cracked open small. This is a beer. You brought level five which we thought was appropriate because we are now level five. The show and this is part of monday nights garage club. Which is they're kind of like the reserve society their special bottle society right right. Yeah so you get. i think. it's aaron remembers. i can tell you. They started when he started out on doing Basically bleeds eight beers over a year. And it would be completely one off base fibro batch of something super cool super interesting and was only available to garage club members and yeah so i want to say that i was the impetus start that thing so happy about the secret society so viscose a chance for for the remastered. We got a little level five beer sour cherry brown. It is a cherry vanilla mix culture sour brown ale crazy man. It's really good though really good. Beer guy's radio level five five years did it looks like we made. It started from the bottom. Now we're drinking beer so you know aaron. As as the years have gone on to question we get a lot of people get to notices. How did all this started. How'd you meet. How'd you get started so aaron. You're the program director at a local radio station correct. I was kind of tell us what started. What got you interested in getting a beer show. Yes so. I had been working in radio. Gosh my whole entire career. So and i'd worked at this Am radio station for about a ten years. Now and I don't know if you guys know and listen to radio stations. But sometimes there's gaps in programming and We had some major gaps in our programming. And so i said to my general manager of the time i said. Hey can i do a radio show. And he was like yeah. Sure what the heck. And i said gonna wanna do online. It's like wow do a beer show and considering this was a christian based radio group bald move cotton camp as i had an awesome general manager. So mike moran wherever you are. Shout out to your awesome. But he was like sure. Go ahead and do it. So i had the idea mind had the time slot. It kind of had all the stuff in place i needed to get a co host. I'm not sure how we met. I can't remember that's right so you had the ties. Radio shacks right. That's right and tim. Vincent was a friend of the cigar guys in that and so mutual friend. He's like hey if you're going to do a beer show. You should give this tim a shell. Yup and we met up at five seasons. We did remember that hash things out and say all right. Let's go ahead and do it. Yeah sorry p five and yeah. We kind of put put together with some duct tape and spit. You know your fans you gotta producer and all that kind of stuff our own studio you get your pseudo that you don't get yelled at if you drink cast and you know because we used to tape in our in on my radio station studios and of course taping in a christian radio station with beer sometimes. It's frowned upon by people. Who don't know so on that note. We'll we'll fast forward a little bit here. We were on there for about three years. Craton t two thousand eighteen. That's correct and actually we know when it will tell you this story and you can judge for yourself. What went down here. Aaron got the job opportunity. Monday night brewing and he left the radio business after all these years. Got out of the radio business in the station and said you know you guys go on with the show. That'd be great. While a few months later. I believe you said that the words were something along the lines of fitting within their moral moral values moral compass something along there was something along those lines Somebody chirp to the higher ups. Basically is what happened so long story short. We got a victim. Yeah we got somebody sauce. Who video and i feel terrible about that. I was like what the heck. I just felt also undercut by that too but you know we as you guys are recovered and did it did gypsy radio for awhile. He's right onto different breweries different locations. We did that. We were friends with the owner and ironmonger bruin were our studios are now and we started out just kind of coming in here in doing shows. Occasionally we didn't really have anything official and then they're like. Hey you can use basically our spare room here which had a round table and a bunch of construction debris on the floor but it worked for us. You know it was. It was our student rickety. Yeah exactly but but you can pop gushers. It'll be okay. The the acoustics weren't great. But if you spilt something and so be it. But through that partnership we developed in that partnership now actually do have an official studio nicely. Decorated out gorgeous oak table and mike's and soundproofing and everything in here so We do appreciate the niece bernice as our mascot. She always looks over things there in the corner so wearing her baseball cap in viking helmet. Combo as you do yeah. It's cold out there. I am most impressed by the to beer. Fridges y'all you have to at least two fridges. And if you noticed we have two fridges and still have beer on the counter. And then you've got some other things behind me that i'm just noticing as well over there so let's zoom meetings right. Yeah so but that's it. That's that's kind of how we got from there to here. Aaron i met through the radio show through the mutual thing ryan you and i met years ago through the cigar cigar small we met through and mutual. Flynn read it kinda and That's how we all kind of came together and made the beer guy's radio show happen so and there was a cigar show. I was involved in that nor was to be no. That's right that's right exactly well. They're not thinking much right now but think that's right. i mean you know. i'll. I'll tell folks what brian's alluding to they're both the gentlemen that hosted that show passed away since then and while neither one of them were that old so they really weren't so surprising anyhow. That's the history of beer. Guy's radio brian in a nutshell. In case you didn't know down on let's let's talk about beer win. Sixteen so erin. I know you remember this. We had this conversation a lot about. Ipa's and i just said my blanket state ones. I don't like ipa's and you've changed your. I have but i have changed to. This is true this. That's where the thing is when we did this. I think i don't remember the exact launch date of tropicalia but that's the reason that we had tropicalia today. Because i think this is referencing. Our local beer seen here but that was a pivotal beer for georgia. It was the first time we had those. Tropical flavors are not still. Has that that bitter west coast kind of backbone to a brought the tropical flavors upfront and that really made people outside of georgia look at georgia. Hey what's going on there. it also. It made our other brewer step up and newbury's had to kind of follow that bar exactly. I know it's funny. Member and tropicalia first came out. The you go to a party and the other person in the party was a beer person. And they'd like sneaky when the corner and the came in. I i gotta growl their tropicalia in the back. You on some like. He didn't want to keep him out a secret. He will fight for the hand they were. Yeah yeah exactly. And you know and creature. Commerce has done a fantastic job that you know. It's now very ubiquitous across georgia and they're opening up a place in california dividend. great without. I think.
