"What i would say is the kind of corruption legalized. Corruption in washington has got a lot of attention when it comes to the financial sector and not a lot when it comes to national security or foreign policy. So if you're jake sullivan biden's national security adviser and you were advising guber you're advising big banks advise even something funny like the toy company over the past two years. It's not immediately clear how it's a conflict of interest but you know that corporate influence has a huge role in how biden establishing this administration and the place. I'm really interested in is the consultancy world because they're not quite lobbyists we don't know who they're consulting for the companies won't talk about it consultants on it and yet they're cashing in on their recent government experience and worst of all from my perspective advising companies over the last two years what a biden administration or a democratic administration might do when they're in power these represent real conflicts in they're not exactly borne out we don't know in the situation room how their own out but we know that many high level biden officials were working for corporate interests over the past two years that has to affect the way policies are made in yemen and saudi arabia wherever people have a corporate or business interests do you have a sense of i mean what could break the cycle. I mean short of you know that this is endemic to capitalism that That there are there. Are there ways in which to sort of like Ah pull this apart in some way. So that the those people who are influencing the policy of the united states whether it's foreign policy domestic policy for that matter are not doing so because they're they have a vested interest or that those interests are even aligned right. I mean even if you want to take the most charitable perspective like well. I just happen to believe. In a i. And so of course i would tell the government to adopt it and of course if i have billions of dollars i'm going to invest in it But but how do you how do you. What is it just simply making ethics rules or what. So i mean biden does have the most robust at the rules today but we need radical transparency. We need to go even further. I mean i got my hands on some documents that showed you know in average ethics form for this national security commission on artificial intelligence may be five to ten pages. Eric schmidt's thirty seven pages law. That has to be financial entanglements. When someone like a jake sullivan national security adviser. Tony blinken secretary of state. When they make ethical disclosures they disclose as little as possible and we could really reform the rules to make sure that there's a wide amount of information about who these people's clients were in by the way. What were they doing. I reached out to microsoft for example. Which jake sullivan worked for. They didn't want to comment in detail. But it seems to me if you have microsoft breach about a month ago and jake sullivan is tweeting about it. In saying we need to download this microsoft patch you have to wonder. Is he tweeting. As the former adviser to the president of microsoft where the current advisor to prison is the consultant corruption this new generation of it sort of a response to or a rebranding of what we saw get a lot of attention in bush administration as the iraq and afghanistan wars waged where it was a lot clearer that these were defense contractors. Now we just have a a a smarter upgrade to the software not to use an analogy. That's especially relevant to what you're discussing will two crucial points one is. It's not that the defense industry doesn't need a huge software. Update they are behind. And that's that's true. It just doesn't need to be commercialized. Let's say and second the corruption. I'm talking about you know it doesn't compare to the trump level swamp. Where you know. They're really nasty entanglements but even so we ought to hold the biden administration to a really high standard. And it's not good enough to say you were a consultant but you're not gonna extensively share your clients or exactly what you're doing for them and there's this whole kind of soft space. Where oh these are companies. So that's different than defense. But in fact they're all working on similar issues and really radical disclosure and getting really deep sense of what i didn't officials were working on. Cluny biden officials in his top national security. Inner circle were working as consultants in the last couple of years and that has to be very defining of how they see the world. How many twenty of them were working consultants. How many exists. What percentage is that. I couldn't give you the percentage sam but we're talking about you. Know top people in the national security council the state department. I'm getting financial disclosures. Every day from the white house and i'll say oh my god is another person who's at tony blinken. The secretary of state's firm It just runs deep in one of my concerns is people haven't been giving the kind of attention to consulting because it's not lobbying but we might call it shadow lobbying. They are working for corporations. They're not directly asking government. Hey i'm working for this corporation. Can you help us up policy-wise but they're doing everything but opening that door and it's really crucial that we have a deeper understanding of how this whole network of shadow lobbying or consultancies work in the capital in new york in financial centers across the world. How how does. I mean how. I mean i i. I can't imagine anyone disagree with it. We want we want more transparency. But how does that transparency.

"Alive. Justin All Guyer is one of the most recognizable names in the NASCAR Xfinity Syriza and our Woody Kane had a chance to sit down and talk Martinsville with the NASCAR Xfinity Series veteran Theo Atlanta winner fresh often off week, but I know he wanted to be on that dirt track at Bristol Nadal You had to Martinsville where you were runner up. Last time we were there, and it seems like the calendar and the stats and everything are lining up for you. How do you feel? I feel a lot better right now than I did it begin season. Obviously way fired off out of the gates and the beginning of 2021. We just We were terrible. We fought just everything you could possibly come up with the fight. We fought of this seem like so Nice villa tendencies around. Obviously, t get to Victory Lane at Atlanta was awesome. Tonto was the first time I've had exulted Echo Park on the car. So to take in Victory Lane in the in the Echo Park to 50 was really obviously really special. You mentioned the dirt. I'm I'm super bummed that the Xfinity series didn't go there. Track of Bristol. Yeah, That's uh, That's a number one when I grew up on racing Andrea, but number two. Not only did we not get the disgrace, but we also missed out on a great race track in Bristol Myers fuming, right, you know, going from two races, the ones that was super disappointing just because I felt like we had a great shot to maybe take a victory home. They're dirty rascal. So way going to Martinsville obviously dash for cash weekend so You know, being able to qualify for that huge thanks to infinity for what they do in that regard as far as just reinvesting into the into the teams and the organizations that support the Syrian on a regular basis, and it means a lot to all of us. And then, as you mentioned I finished second to last year. However, I think the four of us that are in the dash for cash. We finished 123 and a gentleman in her was leading the race and had a flat tire right towards the end and wasn't able to battle it out for a win. So I'm not sure if you could pick any for that have a better shot at going to Martin's villain and going for that grandfather clock but most importantly to that death for cash money. Before we look ahead. Let's look back a little bit that Atlanta race even though it was only a couple of weeks. It seems like longer than that now, but everybody was focused on the whole Noah Gregson and Daniel hammering, scrap and true experts really good. And meanwhile, you're just okay. You guys do that. I'll go on and win. I mean, that kind of feel like you'll have your fun. I'm going to the Victory Lane now. Honestly, that was one of the one of the call, Marie says. I feel like I've been able to be a part of her for myself. You know, way fired off right on the box and I felt like we were. We were good. We weren't as good as we wanted to be. But we were good, but we made good changed all day and and that's really what it comes down to, You know, with no practice, no qualifying, You have to fire off strong, but you also have to be really going back in with the changes and you'll pick crew were lights out. Regain spots on the road every time and we made adjustments. The car that ultimately helped propel us to having Ah, better better car. So you know, I think that was a big part of it. Um, you know, we got a gift when Martin spent on the road. Obviously, that helped tremendously But on the other hand, you know, I felt really good about the fact that you know, as he came back through the field and got my choice to the end of the race, you know when when he closed in the gap, we were able to kind of push a little bit harder. Those last 10 or 12 laps or so and then kind of pull a little bit of a gap, and it was huge from a from a driver standpoint. Absolutely one of the one of the bigger winds of my career, just for the simple fact that we executed all day perfectly. Things went the way we needed him to go. And that just those days don't have very often. No, they really don't and you mentioned gotta break there. But you've had some times to you and almost anybody else who's raised where you felt like you had the best car and it didn't work out for you for one reason or another. So that stuff kind of has a way of evening out. But Looking ahead to Martinsville. The cookout to 50 is under the lights, and that's got to give you a little something extra there, doesn't it? It does. I mean, you know Martin's was obviously a great facility. I've been a huge fan of Martinsville long before the Xfinity series went back there. You know, I got I attended my first truck racing Martinsville many, many moons ago. Darryl Walter was actually in that race. If that gives you an idea of how long ago I attended a truck, crazy Martinsville well, Um, you know, my dad not always to go there as fans and walk through and be a part of that event is because we really enjoyed it. So Martin cells can always been on my list of racetracks that I've had circled, you know, having a little bit of comfort experience. I didn't hurt anything. But on the other hand, you know, last year going back to Martin's with an infinity serious car, having a good car thing that's first and foremost, we had a great great great Camaro. We were able to battle for when late in the race and, you know, ultimately lock our way into that final round at Phoenix and do the things that we needed to do. So you know, I don't know. I don't know what it looks like this time around you under the lights is gonna be extremely different in the track conditions are gonna be different The way you're going to raise the things you're going to see you're going to be completely different. So I'm excited for that. I know they took the grass out as well. So I think a few of the guys are excited that there's no more grass in the infield. But how does that affect? You know kind of how we raised. Not that. Not that It's really easy to get up on top of that cur, but That took some guys out the last couple of years Cup and Xfinity. So you know, I'd be interested to see what happens there. But we got a beautiful race car. We've got the fight Hunger, Smart change Unilever Walmart plus car, So we got all the Unilever brands on the car with.

Sputnik's launch inspired satellite navigation systems in October 4, 1957

"Day was October fourth nineteen fifty seven the Soviet Union launched the first artificial earth satellite and scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology noticed that the frequency of its radio signal increased as it moved closer and decreased as it moved farther away this discovery led scientists to study how they could use satellite to locate receivers on earth and idea that marked the beginning of the development of satellite delight now the Gatien Systems and eventually GPS after sputnik launched two physicists at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory Dr William Guyer and George Wife Balk taxed the satellite using the doppler effect. The doppler effect is the change in frequency or wavelength of wave as the waves source and it's observer move toward or away from each other a familiar illustration of the doppler effect is the change in pitch of sirens marrone's as an emergency vehicle approaches and passes by Chairman of the Applied Physics Laboratories Research Center Frank McClure suggested that if if the satellite position is known then a navigator on Earth could receive and process the satellite signal to determine their location this led to the the creation of the transit system the first satellite-based Geo Positioning System Transit was developed by the AP L. and the Defense Advanced Research Research Projects Agency and it was sponsored by the US Navy. Its main purpose was to provide location updates to the Navy's ballistic missile submarines leans but it was also used as a navigation system for surface ships and for survey transit was fully operational by nineteen sixty four in one thousand nine sixty seven transit became available for civilian use but scientists realized that a more accurate navigation system that could could operate all day every day would be better than transit transit had high accuracy compared to other navigation systems but it's still had limitations fans the technology and techniques developed for transit contributed to the introduction of the global positioning system or GPS so did the development element of other programs like commission and six twenty one B but by the early one thousand nine hundred seventy s you defense officials realized that it would be advantageous pages to have a single satellite-based navigation system with several military applications rather than having a bunch of expensive ones the first I operational. GPS satellite was launched in one thousand nine hundred seventy eight and by nineteen ninety-three GPS reached initial operational capability with a full constellation relation of twenty-four satellites two years later GPS became fully operational with twenty-seven satellites three of which were spares from the beginning GPS was Dole used system meaning that it was made for civilian and military use the transit system ended its navigation service in nineteen ninety-six since GPS technology had improved greatly and deemed it obsolete and in two thousand the Defense Department ended the selective availability of GPS which meant that it was no longer purposely degrading the signal for civilian users GPS receivers now have a much higher higher accuracy than they did at the time of this switch as GPS technology advance it became available more personal products like car navigation devices and cell phones. "So just because as chino said is John Guyer's, then you know, Creon, Sean and he said just because the sun is shining. Brightly doesn't you know, the snow melts melted once and the notion that the simple fact of perceiving that things are not cynically luminous ephemeral empty, you know, whatever you want. You know, pick your favorite words. For this kind of experience that doesn't mean it, suddenly writes, all biological or cultural or childhood conditioning. It just isn't true. It would be sort of like imagining that everybody who is a great piano player. Of course, would be a great writer right there. Have incredible Skillet hitting keys all day long. They make beautiful music. And yet is every great piano player who can hit keys really well all day long and played beautiful music. Great writer. I'm not sure that's true. And I'm not sure why you would think that we're all great writers great BNO players everybody who can type really well. And right, really. Well, they all great players know, it seems so closely related you think, of course, but okay. No, wait. No. And in the same kind of way modern reality testing. So I've had plenty of teachers you've heard of come up and say that thing you claim to have done I've done that too. And then we'll talk about it. Right. As one of the really sort of. I'm honored to have had some of those conversations. That's really. Grateful that people get to have those and the talk about it, and yet doesn't perform like they, you know, they can still, you know, make love with the partners. They can still be irritable and they get hungry like there's still some physiology. Like an off the traditional presentation, the text just does not hold up to modern reality testing. And yet the fact of insight and in the seeing just the scene in the hearing just the heard totally does is totally doable today. And so yes, so you have to with modern reality testing and empirical methods, right? Can you reproduce the experiment, and then lots of reproduce people reproduced, the experiment? What did they find you can find that some of it holds up really well and some of the traditional missing dogmas dumped, actually, and so that's I'm also a scientist. Right. So have MS ph epidemiology in an MD published papers and journals and stuff like so I appreciate that. Empiricism empiricism imbo sense of the words that were doing the experiment, and we're using our own experience. As the basis of reality. So that's my answer. You talk about the do ability of this. But how do you really mean can his somebody in my position with a kid a bunch of cats and two jobs? Can I really cheap stream entry nut? Not to mention our hunt. Ship. I know people who get straight stream entry actually without even practicing. So occasionally even happens, actually, I know people have gotten even higher pass than that without doing anything..

"Fair all right well boys i think the cushion could use a little work but i respect him try there should be beated like those old taxi drivers seats oh are you guys ready for the next mission yeah boy manny v mattie v rights hello nation allow me to pose a question what's one of the worst things happening to earth fragile ecosystem those guy offers the trash guyer's no worse thing happening to the ecosystem global warming if you said that our bees are dying congratulations every year the number of bees do the important work of pollenisation and making that sweet sweet honey is dwindling the consequences of this could be devastating to crop yields into the health of our planet in general that's why i'm here to propose a solution growing up in a rural part of canada i've seen lots of farmers setting up apiaries behalves as a side hustle i actually have a family friend who does that as well they make life easier for bees which makes their population grow while at the same time making a profit from the sale the honey the bees produce all the to do is set up a hive and bring in some bees how does this become a scheme we get drug dealers involved near where i live there are these big wooden beehives at the sides of the road pretty frequently what i'm proposing is that drug cartels and dealers set up even more of these behinds and them use them as a drop point for their drugs and money place in.

"That's right i think predominantly east they relate to sentence but uh what's never been assessed is weather a mistress expires mental health issues may have had some causal connection to the alleged offending behaviour the trial judge found that there was no causal connection but there's never been a psychiatric assessment in relation to that issue and the trial judge was skeptical that mr s geyer suffered from any sort of a mental disorder he was skeptical of the diagnosis of of schizophrenia in so that issue really hasn't been fully looked out even if the mental disorder didn't play a role in in terms of mr s guyer's criminal responsibility for the act i would be relevant in deciding whether he was fit to stand trial at the time of his trial mr guard chose to represent himself a trial do you think that that he would have fallen through the cracks this way in terms of getting assessment if he accepted a lawyer to represent him it's difficult to say i it there was amicus appointed to provide some assistance their rule initially in the proceedings was quite limited if he had hide council this issue may have come too late earlier a certainly though issues relating to mr us as buyers a mental health issues were brought to the attention of the court the amicus uh who acted at the trial asked the court to have a full fitness assessment and to order an a eventually to order an assessment of criminal responsibility and so the issues were brought to the attention of the court.

"By price that had been a called strike earlier in the season and priced couldn't believe it in there is a funny reaction if you go strictly by the letter of the line the rulebook which says that the players supposed to make some effort to get out of the way i don't know that brandon guyer yeah as always in accordance with that rule but but it's like she's not stick and is now the latter do and i think that chase utley get all the time where he's in terms is back to be inside pitch but in so doing like leads is elbow farther out but it would be in his norm yeah stance for the interesting thing with a guy or is so many like it when you get hit by a lot of pitches it's usually on the arms in the torso are a guy or get to him away contests so my theory about this is i looked up is splits over the past couple years when he he by petry really took off and it's been that about fifty fifty over the past couple years the the distribute in the bats vs lefties a righties and lefties it in something like thirty nine times and righty chad and like fourteen time switch makes we think because he hits lefties so well you gotta really get inside on him or you're trying to throw the back foot slider and it's if dyar stand relatively close in the plate never moving when the ball comes in he's going to where the literal back foot slider a lot of times yes my theory on it it's also possible maybe line to me and this is something that yeah i mean that's even more impressive the lefty isn't it in so many times because there are fewer lefty is so you would expect the opposite the hit but could trade against them it's just crazy does his gar going to put tuned and plays against lefties were i think he's faced i don't have the the numbers right in trying to right now but like it's close to fifty fifty over the past couple years but he stay slightly more lefties but the the the ratio is way out lack reasons right all rights well you will have some story is coming.
