"So he's out there with Tucker I, guess the other two you'd have them as the one she attacked team is the best in the NFL Buckhorn Tucker a strangely enough Josh Lambo. Last two years has been first or second on my list. Taste. On the kicks he's done. Yeah. What about Gus cousy was he on your path Kaczynski actually has been inconsistent for the past few years since I think ever since he had that injury and he's he's always missed a few big kicks you know even when the Patriots were doing well. It's really hard to tell why you know. Usually you think it's some kind of physical thing in terms of the the kicking motion or or maybe maybe an injury or just losing power, but but he kicked a fifty one yard you. Earlier, earlier in the game after missing missing easy kick, you know it doesn't make sense. Let's go to the Ravens Pretty copperheads. It went over the Texans Mike, of course, all the plaudits coming to Baltimore Butter Focus on Houston for a minute because that was a lot to be positive about despite this horrendous start scheduling was always against them. Nobody expects them to get anything out of the first couple of games realistically and here they on our own to but at the offense moved and and particularly add some positives to take away from the game for the show Watson. Yeah. A after last week, you really had to hope that this idea of of spreading the spreading the passing game around was actually going to work for. For, Bill O'Brien and it had some success and you're dealing with one of the better pass defenses in the league. I mean, you know this team that can lead role Thomas go and it doesn't hurt them at all in the secondary or not not as much as you would thought. they therefore a deep corner. So you're gonNA always have problems of the top Marlin humphries and Marcus Peters are another top pair of corners. In the League's. Baltimore are looking like the Ravens of old and of course. You know I'm not sure Houston's defense was prepared for them. They did a pretty good job of slowing them down for a while, but but you can't slow them down forever and as the game wore on Buffalo, decide to put the ball on the ground. You know they were able to close it out the way the way you would want to you know I know they're tough games for the Texans. But if you're going to be the division winner and play in the playoffs, you're going to have to win some of those tough games. You know it's It's going to be a challenge for them and I think they we may overvalue their defensive talent at this point. I'm not sure there is good defensively as as you would think on paper, they should be and part of that is that Jj Watt snot what Jj Watt was three years ago we talked about Alice the Seahawks affirmatively decide could be applied to the Ravens. Of course, they did what they did last year against the Texans torn on the ground children's thirty yards this time rabbit Lamar was once again, very competent exceptional in the seventy five percent of his passes completed their bodies to spread it round say eight or nine different targets. So based on that and what you were saying about how complete the defense seems to be is it the seahawks and the Ravens at everybody else? In terms of the the the finished article. Oh. Yeah And you know the Ravens were arguably the best team in the AFC last year they just happened to have a bad game in a bad game plan at the wrong time in the playoffs. But they're much better I think this year on both sides of the ball they. The offensive line is is probably not as good but but not a huge fall off what they've added receivers who are going to grow into the system most notably do vernay. They could use another tight end but they had They had one extra last year. They were able to spread the ball around that way. Dobbins looks like a ravens style running back already as a rookie and we were talking about it. On the show yesterday with the beat writer from Baltimore the these young guys fit the raiders pat as the Ravens pattern they choose very carefully guys who meet their meet their needs and expectations. So Queen, looks great. At the inside linebacker spot, it helps them a lot as we discussed I think in the preview. They picked up clay Campbell in gene Wolfe's plan B.. When they couldn't get Michael Brokers and that's where out for them. So I think defensively they are a better team than they were last year, and if they they play, they can play from the lead probably better than any team in the league and Jackson Jackson passing has always been undervalued because he's he's never been kind of like big play passer. And dependent on his such the way. To Shawn Watson. Was In college say Russell Wilson was in college but he was a very efficient. In college and it and he wasn't in a run I? Necessarily kind of offense. But he's able to do that. So I I just think that they're. Day and the chiefs again will be are the two best teams in the AFC. If not in football you know and just hope that both of them get to the. AFC Championship game because I think that'll be a really good game going up goes next week on. The Truth and so it'll be interesting. To See right let's move on to the forty niners. Blue the jets apart but not without cost Mike extrordinary stuff going on there and sons injuries everybody going down. So obviously started out George kittle then. goes up it goes out Bosa was the first one that's a key part he's just you know making up the numbers plays they are losing his left right and center a what costs like how much is this going to affect them ultimately that's going to be a tough one defensive line Israel Solomon Thomas was gone as well as both is out for the season I'm assuming at this point. Knee surgery seems to be indicated..

"The Eagle Offensive Line worries me a lot Aaron Donald could just destroy this game on Sunday so I I I'd be careful if you're putting the money on Philly I it sorry I should've added Jimmy I do like the under on this game and it was I'm not sure if I'm going to best bet but I do like under forty five point five because Rams, look ram moved the ball they just you know they didn't have any big plays against Dallas last week and I don't know if they necessarily get him going on the road here against a a pretty good eagles. Defence. the next game we're GONNA talk about is the Titans Jaguars. Jaguars obviously coming off that surprising against the titans here a nine point favorites total is forty four games in Tennessee Mitch. Yeah, I'm going to take the points here and let's talk about these Jags I. Know. You just said nobody expected them to win I did mention on last last week's pod that I was a little bit worried about them. I talked not that anyone cares about my survivor wall and we don't have to talk about it ever again because I lost but I did say that I entered one with my brothers and we were we had picked the WHO? The colts against the Jaguars in worried me I. talked to them out of it and we ended up picking the eagles instead debating between the the colts, the Eagles and the niners who all lost. So as a quite a weekend for us but anyway, these these frisky Jaguars they were they were fun last week and I just I've said this about the bills before I've said this about the titans do they don't really strike me as blowout teams not that you know. To blow out but some of these bigger spreads, they just don't strike me as the type of team that I can expect them to win by double digits. I think they want to run the ball shorten the game have fewer possessions. They must four kicks last week. So we'll see if gus cousy bounces back or possibly they're afraid to let him kick and. Maybe. That affects the game somehow. So I don't know I'm remembering that men's shoe mania kind of started last year is that Thursday night game between these two teams in prime time and Menchu leading a back and doing the exciting postgame interview on the field and everything and you know these two teams know each other. Well, it's just AFC south is chaos every year. So let's have a calf. I'm not I'm not quite calling Jaguars win outright, but I like them to take keep it within nine points, Gary Yeah I I did like the in this one but too many questions at the receiver position right now. Hamstring for Corey Davis knee injury for for AJ Brown let's see if one or both those guys are out for this game otherwise I did like the over and I did like Tennessee to sort of bounce back in this one is like I say I I the over on Tennessee Denver. Last week about forty one was too low and number for an offense that was all their games we're going over fifty points in the Tanna hilarious. Except for I think it was eleven to thirteen last year of Tannehill starts. So I will I will back off this one in the end but. If Aj Brown and Corey Davis are in the lineup. I would go titans and I would go over in this one. Moving onto another this on here, I like a lot. This is the bears giving five and a half points to the giants total is forty two I have to say, I, think this line is really high, it might be two or three..

"Time for you're going to go for Easter pretty awesome. Right. Just pick your delivery date one hundred flowers we'll handle the rest to order thirty stunning. Assorted tulips for only thirty dollars. You go to one hundred flowers dot com. You click the radio icon and enter the code football. It's those sport of kings order today and save at one eight hundred flowers dot com code football. Stay. Hey, roswell. Let's start today with a couple of announcements the NFL made yesterday. I one preseason schedule has been released and the other NFL announced Twenty-three projected first round picks will be in attendance at the draft in Nashville and a couple of weeks. Right. So preseason schedule is usually most interesting for the national games just to see which which national games will be featured on preseason lotta times teams that they think will have a new quarterback, you know, last year Baker Mayfield against the eagles. I think they've got the Amazon cardinals and against the raiders thinking that Kyle Mary maybe we'll be in that game. So the NFL they're no dummies. They have an idea of what might happen. I think and they try to highlight even those in the preseason tried to get good ratings for the preseason games. As for the people that will be at the draft terrific job by Gil Brandt in the NFL because there's like twenty three projected first round picks. Now, we all know three to five of these guys. I'd say aren't going until day to they're not going until Friday night. But they don't know that yet. And they're. Is a good good crop of guys Cuyler Murray. OB there Nick Bosa will be there. I'll be there. I'll be working for dissolve on that week. So that's pretty cool as well. Stay outside some comments from Aaron Rodgers who attacked the writer of the Bleacher report feature and also revealed the more significant injury that he played with all of last season. So a couple of thoughts on air real quick. Right. Number one. I thought it was poor formed by him to attack tighter done from Bleacher report. I mean, the guy worked for months on the story the guy talked to over fifty people. And if you read the story, it wasn't a smear attack on Rogers or Mike McCarthy or any person in particular. It was an attempt to understand why the Packers have not had more success over the last decade. I mean and part of that was Ted Thompson. Gab literally being asleep in meetings and sleep at the wheel in terms of adding more personnel part of that was Mike McCarthy's offense going stale part of that was Aaron Rodgers. And and some of the leadership issue has and then Aaron Rodgers comes out and says, you know, it's the same two guys always who are kind of bitter irrelevant players. I mean, he really he really came out on the attack, and that's fine. But I don't know how you say Greg Jennings, injure, Michael Finley are relevant. I don't think you win a Super Bowl without those guys. The only Super Bowl you've ever even been to number one number two is not like they were. This story was their idea. The reporter went to them and they put their name on it. You know? I mean, they were willing to put the name on. And even if you say, okay, there's too bitter players can anybody find a single former teammate at Tom Brady that's ever say anything bad about him can anybody find a single guy that ever say anything bad about him? I'm just saying as for the injury. He's got that tibia plateau fracture that Dr Chow said last year that he thought he had that tibial plateau fracture. So I'm not surprised there at all. I just people don't care. You know? I say this to you guys all the time. And then if fell player, everybody's dealing with something if you're inside the white lines for a game, you are saying you are healthy enough to perform and nobody really cares about what injury. Yeah. They didn't care when I had the herniated disc or the broken hand or the sprained MC L or whatever they don't care that Aaron Rodgers. He was able to play all sixteen games. He looked okay out there. Okay. Good. Thank you for playing with the injury. But it's not an excuse. Nobody cares. Well, who says you can't go home? Again. Stephen Gus Cousy Rodney Gunter and Adrian clayborn of all re-signed with their original teams in the past few days. Right. And Gus Cousy gets a two year deal. Good for him. He's a former teammate of mine when when I was there with the patriots. And no six before I got traded Gus Cousy was there Gunter, I called his college games at Delaware state. And then Adrian clayborn was with the patriots last year. But he's going back to the foul. Cowan's Gunter, by the way with the cardinals. He's also a few more af signings cleaning the eagles inking quarterback Luis Perez as well as wide receivers, Greg ward and Charles Johnson Peres has an unbelievable story. Maybe I'll even try to get him on the pod at some point Greg ward. And Charles Johnson wards been in eagles training camp. The last couple of years did a really nice job in the af Charles Johnson. It's probably one of the more accomplished names more the more accomplished players in the af he led them in receiving and take his chances with the eagles. And finally smother news, the NFL NFL PA, beginning CBS, negotiation talks and the lions are going to sign quarterback, Tom savage to compete for the number two job behind Matthew. Stafford. So I'm glad they're starting the negotiations. Now, it'll still come down to August of twenty twenty one. But the sooner they start the sooner they can at least get ahead of it. So good. I'm glad I hope it doesn't come to August twenty twenty one. I really don't. But I'm glad that there are at least having those conversations now as for Tom savage. You know, he just everything he does is just so slow so methodical, and that's not good. When your quarterback. It is good when you're making real comfortable genes like the kind they have at Wrangler. Look, everybody's got a favorite pair of jeans that pair that fits perfectly. Always looks great. "The thing that we can do. Now. This is what we got going defense is playing really well. Just take a deep breath. We've always talked about we don't need to make anything up. We do a great job starts with me. We get a Fisher runs some temple. We're not allowing ourselves to get in any sort of rhythm. But if we do that we know how quickly we can flip the switch on. Yup. We're good. Here's the thing. He was right. Because they did they punted on the first drive of the half. But they had that drive in the third quarter where they went right down the field, and I and ten from the twenty nine. Brandin cooks blows by the safety. Throws his hand in the air and Jared Goff doesn't notice him. And Jared Goff doesn't throw a frozen rope. We talked about this yesterday. I don't want to go too hard on Jared Goff. But there is a difference between a good quarterback and a great quarterback. And a great quarterback. Makes that throw a great quarterback delivers that dagger. When he has the chance to do it those moments are few and far between and Super Bowls. You get it you deliver. And I saw Michael Irvin last night. On twitter. I saw the clip from inside the NFL losing his mind about Brandin cooks. That Michael Irvin makes the catch at the goal line. Where cooks got blown up by Doron harmed. Because cooks dropped it before Harmon hit him. Ervin in Irvine's estimating makes that catch Ervin in Irvine's estimation makes that catch at the back of the end zone, and he gives a very passionate. I usually don't pay any attention to Michael Irvin. He doesn't have a lot of credibility with me, frankly. But I thought it was compelling. I probably need to write something about it. And post the clip because he said in a very very passionate over the top at passionate way. This is what you spend all your life pointing toward as a kid. You want the opportunity to make catches like that you make that catch at the back of the end zone. You hold onto the ball at the back of the end zone. You hold onto the ball. When you have an opportunity to score a touchdown going down the right sideline and tie the game up in the fourth quarter, the Super Bowl, you don't drop that ball. You don't let someone knocked the ball out of your hands. And it's funny because he had like a pocket square that was all puffed open, like a blooming flower or blooming onion is a case may be and when he sat down Phil Simms said to him. Mike. New your pocket square was on steroids. But I didn't know you were. It was great. Great Phil, Phil listening and learning to his son. Christopher. So I, but you know, what he's gotta agree championship teams make championship plays in championship moments and the Rams failed. Brandin cooks failed Jared Goff failed Todd Gurley. I only where the hell he was Aaron Donald aware the hell he was all he did was throw Tom Brady down to the ground. Once when Brady didn't have the ball anymore. I don't know where he was. Championship players make championship plays in championship moments. The patriots did the Rams didn't. And that's why the patriots have number six one of the reasons that have number six when they were up seven with one sixteen to play facing fourth and one from the LA twenty four there were two options. Go for it. Okay. Can feel if you go for it and you fail Rams have it around their own twenty four kick it new fail. Rams have at their own thirty one either way. Touchdown extra point ties at touchdown. And a two porter wins it. I thought the patriots should go forward. Especially after Stephen Gus Cousy missed a forty six yard or in the first half and the forty one yard or that he made in the first half hooked just like the forty six yard or D missed. Tom Brady helped convince his head coach to kick. The field goal on fourth insure to here is the clip from inside the NFL..

"Into the game. You kind of your money. That's how you find out all my bets for safe that wouldn't be any juice, juice point, spreads the prop bets. But teasers the parlays from Vegas to you. These these behind the bad. Welcome in to a post Super Bowl behind the best podcast. I'm Doug kazarian. We're taping this on Wednesday. February six Mr. director. John Murray will be joining us to. Gather all thoughts pick up the pieces, and let us know how everyone did with the with the Super Bowl KAI? Did you see that crow on the desk? I left. Checking Jackie if you saw that I'm slow from that you hungry to eat that crow not hungry at all no touchdowns in the first half that feel you know, like I got to get your props man. No pun intended. That was awesome. Yeah. You know blind squirrel finds now we'll get into it with Mr. director. But look there's this the the value there. That's what we talked about it and say, it was definitely going to happen. Even pumped interrupted you to reinforce that. I didn't think was going to happen. But I felt like hundred one was ridiculous. And look these types of games occur. All the time. Usually it's a Jacksonville colts game six nothing or whatever that score was during the regular season. But there were a lot of things that suggested not only low scoring just it could happen like that. But anyways, I don't wanna pull muscle Pat myself on the back to our fleet. I was on the Rams as well. A lean at least, and then, you know. Some other props all head, but it was fun fun. The trash talk your almost almost as if like you predicted Rutgers to beat Michigan records won the game. Almost I mean being at the McCartney twins won the SuperBowl. That's almost like ruckers. There you go in my world as records of all of Scotto h earing, right? So big news in the NBA with some trades. And Anthony Davis mass will what will recap that? At the end looking forward to Mr. director Chi had what how did you take in the Super Bowl stay at home cooked for the family had some laws come over. Matt. It was I mean, it was not an entertaining game. I think half my house was watching the bachelor something come on now after on everybody kind of scattered. That's blasphemy. Well. Blame Bella check. Yeah. All right. That's fair. Well, man, the season is over. We'll get into it. By the way. There was not a record handle for the Super Bowl in Nevada Nevada gaming. It was lower than last year. It had the Nevada gaming had announced a record hand on for the last five years. So not this year, obviously, other states contributing so in terms of legal betting in the United States. It was a record hand when you add all the other states, and we'll get into that with Mr. director John Murray momentarily, but this is the final football podcast of the two thousand eighteen nineteen season. He started his ticket writer will handle a lot higher here in the last hour. Now, he's a racing sports. Book director of the guys at work. Your call me, Mr. director and not looking directly into my eyes people in new staff to sear kind of Seinfeld as move where we just rotate the guys the material doesn't get stale happened in between hot tub and. ESPN? Kicking is for losers and boy was that evident in the Super Bowl. Mr. director good to connect with you as we put a bow on this two thousand eighteen two thousand nineteen NFL season. You can believe it at and I were sitting back there at the end of the game. And we actually agreed. With New England's decision to kick. The field goal to go up thirteen to three ending the game winning the Super Bowl that was one time where I actually thought kicking the field goal was the right? The right decision. Interesting. I did not give in Gus Cousy looked so shaky earlier in the the distance that was needed for first down. Well, we had some we had a little bias there. I gotta give you full disclosure. We really wanna kick the field goal if they if the game had landed between eight and fourteen points that would have been very very big loser for us that betting on that was available at five hundred to one here at the super book..

"What's up everybody live from Nashville? So we stopped in. I don't really know what to call it down here smash Ville, a lot of people from the bachelor bachelorette live here, though. I don't know what happens. If once you're on the show, they give you some sort of like low interest rate mortgage for maybe they pick up your first last and security in the immediately put you on a shuttle, the Nashville, so not to say that I'm hanging out with people from the bachelor and bachelorette, but that appears to be the deal with this city so had to LA tomorrow on the phone watch Super Bowl last night. And my initial concerns Rudy is but by the time, we get done taping. This depending on which way the wind is blowing on the Anthony Davis stuff. Hopefully, we'll have good information that still relevant or I don't know. I'm totally I don't wanna say a minute loss. But I just pay. We're ready to do the podcast in this. What I got as right now. So we'll go through something Davis stuff. Lebron I deem Woody coming on to talk Super Bowl specifically, Dante scar Nekia in his role as the offense of line coach because that was so impressive. So I just want to do a few minutes on that. Would you go with that plan? I love it. I'm I first and foremost have you seen Cutler cavalier yet at common James any of that crew. No, I got my picture taken outside of the angel wings thing. Okay. Cool. Got a really good one Instagram later. I imagined. I don't want to rush it, you know, caption. I get right, right. And I I didn't have my spiritual gangster tank top on. So I'm thinking, maybe I have to go back and do it and put that on. All right. So today's the day in Monday, I've made this comment in the past right? Feel like no matter what happens is Super Bowl. And we're way we should pass them law that none of us should be allowed to talk about it for like a week, and then we can kind of settle down. And then decide what to do. But the business doesn't work that way. And today, everybody's crushing things. We're Super Bowl ever. I actually think you have a bad memory of you say that or you're under thirty five because I had a stretch a Super Bowl as a kid that it was almost a lock every year. The Super Bowl was the worst game of the playoffs. It was terrible. So even though there was no scoring and yeah, if I'm not a patch Rams fan or I'm not invested into emotionally. And I'm just at a party. It is a boring game to you. But at least it's still in balance, which I think is. Part of part of it, even though it's not entirely exciting. That's why wouldn't put it down as the worst one ever a couple of things here going into it in Atlanta. And I'll mention this. I'm going to ask him what about it? But I couldn't believe how I don't wanna call overconfident. Maybe they're right. I mean, it was still technically a close game. I think it's pretty clear. New England was the better team Brady makes an awful throwing reception. And it was a great call by Romo to be like he could tell it was about decision because he thought he had man and in the end zone, and he was like, oh, no. And then ended up to be in the pick. When it looked like the pats are going to run it right down their throats. And then you have Gus Cousy of all people miss a field goal right after they put up the stat. No field goals have been missed inside of the Mercedes Benz dome. So right there, you're feel like okay, it six points, at least maybe ten points that they didn't have. And it's still this close game. That felt like it was on the wing that New England's game plan was going to work and if Aaron Donald dominant sue, and I would say his resurgence was a bit overrated watching those games. And I know we had this accident the saints. But if you really look at some of that stuff. I mean, he's not interim Donald anybody's there. -sarily saying that, but that was the thing. Okay. Interior pressure right up the middle against Brady. And I felt like the Rams had the personnel to be able to hang in this game..

"He's going to tell you why. And take a look at this ball game. You realize the two teams that expected to put up a lot of points in this game. Really did not and it started right from the very first series of the game. After the Rams won the toss deferred to the second. Half. Patriots came out running the football and Sony Michelle and Cordeiro Patterson's up the first four carries of the game and compile twenty five yards. This is the way New England and attack things in the postseason in their first two wins. The first time Tom Brady decided to go to the air. However, there was danger lurking. It's a second down in seven Brady's in the thirty four yard line of wash Angeles. He's got four wide. You looks into the ram nickel arms. Outstretched moves as receiver. Shotgun snap sex. Long on a pass intended patriot wide receiver returned to about twenty seven. The Rams Tom Brady is just throw them in there on the pass intended broken up on the play by the kill Tolman. Carol. Everybody was talking about coming into this game in Atlanta and Brady becomes the third quarterback Super Bowl history to get picked on his first pass of the game. At that point coach, you get the feeling this might be a little odd. Got a little odd too. But the way ticketed away, they started they ran the ball round the ball. Very well. But you know, you don't expect that early. You don't expect it from Tom Brady at all? But give the Rams credit and I thought with the interception that might give that gave a little life. Here. We are in this game. We we stopped them. They were driving. We stopped them in. Now. Let's get lips are offense get going. How's it turned out? They didn't three and out and a putt which was a common theme for this Rams team in the early part of the game. The next dry for the patriots. It began at their own twelve yard line. But they were showing the ability to sustain drives a first down by Julian Edelman is first of eight I doubt catches in the ball game. They also got a penalty that provided the first down in a nineteen yard crossing. Pastor rob gronkowski to help set them up over when the dry fizzle. They turn to the usually reliable Stephen Gostkowski to try to get them on the board. Gostkowski with the ball put down right footed kick to all right? And. No. He misses a forty six yard in his sixty Super Bowl. Gostkowski cannot convert a second consecutive drive goes for nothing that was wide left. It's still scoreless five thirty five in the first quarter coach when you're in a game like this. You're moving the ball as well as they were in that first quarter, and you walk away with nothing, isn't that usually an omen. It is an omen, and I was sitting here thinking okay now the Rams can take this and use it because two things Ray throws the interception. Then they must vehicle two things happened that don't usually happen with the patriots. The ramp should have been jacked up with it probably work. But then they couldn't do anything with its got. No, they could not in the first quarter came to an end scoreless. The patriots three total first quarter points in their Super Bowls. This despite holding the ball for more than eleven minutes and forty five seconds and out getting the Rams in the first quarter one thirteen to twenty nine. However, they're opening drive of the second quarter proved to finally be the one that got him up over the top. And what's it gonna be Jillian Adelman was a huge part of the drive with a twenty five yard completion. For a first down this time when they were in field goal range. Gus Cousy didn't miss the field goal unit is out there. Four New England a forty two yard try by Gostkowski the ball put down the kitten is up and dope. Aranda and it is from forty two yards away. After he missed a Forty-six shorter in the first quarter forty two yard field goal. New England scores I in Super Bowl fifty three. So the high scoring game that we all predicted at this was now three nothing in the opening moments of the second quarter. Not a whole lot happened for the rest of the half. Specifically for the Rams and again looked in the first half like Jared Goff. You talked a little bit about this coach like he was tentative or confused wasn't throwing the ball on timer with conviction. Yeah. And I think he will. Of course, you have to give credit to the New England defense. But absolutely, you know, he's a good passer Scott and he's a great season. But early in this football game they were getting pressure on him. He was late on some throws. I thought he made some poor decisions on throws. So you walk away saying, okay, he's not really playing the game that he's capable of planes. What the halftime at a three nothing game. The first Super Bowl that first half. Touchdown since the Rams and the titans in Super Bowl thirty four Sean McVay shut out by the way in the first half for the first time as a head coach third quarter this game. The Rams got the football. I started to move it Todd Gurley finally starting to get going to sixteen yard first down run. But Patrick Chung of an ex play was injured kind of a gruesome injury and Doron Harmon came on to replace a ultimately the Rams with punt. Again, they punted on their first eight possessions of this ballgame unprecedented in Super Bowl history. But ended up helping them was field position is Johnny Hecker. Get a sixty five yard punt at the end of the next drive the longest in Super Bowl history. You talk all the time coach about how field position is important tipping, the fields back and forth and fans don't want to necessarily hear about that. That might have helped win the game for the patriots tonight because the Rams didn't have it in their makeup. This evening for the long sustained drives though. And if you look at where the Rams started a number of Dr J started at down inside their own ten even though the Rams have a wonderful kicking game that was hard. And if you continue to play the game that way and are struggling just a little bit on offense. That's a bad formulas got the patriots. It's slowed down. The Rams defense was slowing them down. And the Rams next drive began at their own twenty three yard line. We got a couple of first downs and then Jared Goff big eighteen yard pass to Robert woods for the first third down conversion of the night out the very next play. There was a major major opportunity that might have changed the entire face of this game. But for the Rams tonight. It wasn't to be quick snap deep. Troutbeck winds up long arching. Leaping up in. Pucks globally pass chasing mccourty. Wow. That was very very close off the fingertips cooks underneath across. It was a great play by Jason mccourty. Dave this deep post with a deep over concept. Both safeties jumped the deep over Brandin cooks was standing in the middle of the field between the in are the patriots wide open. Jason mccourty was the backside corner and he thought and he went on a dead sprint and was able to knock it away. The last second coach avenue types in this off season will Sean McVay and Jared Goff. Look back at that tape and see you know, if I had seen him literally a blink of an eye quicker. We had a touchdown. Well, you know, that tells me Scott that he was Jared Goff was picking up the coverage is just a little bit late because as soon as that first receiver ran the post in both safeties jumped him the ball's out of his hand. And he's throwing the post he waited a little long and allowed mccourty who's out. He was the corner on the far side to come in and make that play because cooks is wide open super play by Jason mccourty. He then did Jared Goff. Take a sack on third down made the field goal. Try a lot harder. But the.

Let's do it. It's big Showtime things. Yo. Well, ri- it's number six for my former teammate Tom Brady. And I gotta tell you. I say before on the podcast, I'll say it again, I on some level. I kinda live vicariously through him. There aren't very many of my teammates still playing football. And even though we didn't win it. When I was there. I did get a chance to be teammates with him. It's pretty special to be able to as I post on social media after the game be able to say to my daughter's in a girl's daddy got a chance to play with and snap the ball to the best there ever was. And I don't really think that that's up for debate. At this point what a strange game as the patriots win thirteen to three. It's just bizarre to think at nine Super Bowls that they played that that was the one that they won by two scores that that was the biggest margin of victory. I mean, the total was what fifty six point. Wants something crazy like that. Nobody. I mean, nobody thought it would be that low scoring game. I thought it was as much as anything a lot of really well prepared guys on defense. Both teams felt like they knew what was coming, and I'll get into that in a little bit Adelman was the MVP. I thought that was very much deserved. He was clearly the best offensive player on the field. And of course, they got the place they needed from gronk when they needed to. It was a defensive struggle. I mean there were some issues on offense. But I thought a lot of it was was really good defense really defense. Now was extremely impressed. I mean, the patriots were marching on the ground on their first drive until Brady threw that strange interception. They fold them. You know, they they fold them Littleton got to pick who I love Cory Littleton. I've been saying that how much I love that kid, but Nicole Roby Coleman got the tip. And they Brady thought it was manned. He dropped off. It was. Zone. The Rams got the first big turnover. But then on the next series rule. Be Coleman had that helmet penalty on birkhead which I thought was a good call which led to the missed Gus cow ski field goal. But then after that the Rams punit Gostkowski missed the field goal. And so when I talked to him after the game, I talked to a bunch of you know, patriots players after the game. And Gus Cousy said, you know, he just didn't feel entirely comfortable before that kick, you know, Super Bowl. It's a big deal. And but he was able to shake it off and make the next to which obviously was huge absolutely huge. The Rams I thought that they weren't as aggressive as they should have been they punted on fourth and three at the forty two yard line that ended up. I think the pump went out outlets twenty yard line. So it was like a twenty yard net. Punt just weird things. You don't see in this game. A lot Brady holding the ball too long. Long as number ninety four. I forget the kid's name got the first sack on Brady this this postseason. Donald got after Brady and shocked him to the ground forcing upon. I will say this. I thought Jared Goff was at times really seeing ghosts. I mean there were times where he he was seeing things that weren't there. You know of John Simon in the first half didn't tip that one pass. I really think mccourty would've taken that to the house. I think mccourty would have had a pick six but Simon tipped the ball. And it wasn't meant to be. So but that would have been a pick six because McCord Lia jumped the route. And I tweeted this, but Devin mccourty told me that they played probably more zone coverage in this game than they had all season long, which says a lot about how they felt like they wanted to play against Gough try to fool them make golf have to consistently throw. The check down. He wouldn't do it. You know, golf kept trying to drive all down the field. He just wouldn't do it. And the patriots finally even after the mccourty would be picked six ended up marching primarily, thanks settlement. I mean Eshelman was obviously clearly the best player in the field. Then they get the first field goal to finally get finally get some points in the game and gronk took a vicious shot from Littleton. I mean, I'm telling you that Littleton guy is not messing around. And then unfortunately for them golf took a bad sack. And he just looked confused to me patriots went for on fourth in one. But Brady and gronk were off target kind of weird to me. I don't know why they had a fourth and one and then they had and inches late. Neither one did. They do the quarterback sneak which I don't really understand. And then you start the second half pry and golf was lucky again his first throw the second half. Dante Hightower drop for an easy interception on the first play. I mean, it was it would have been easy interception. Then Patrick Chung got hurt. And you start to think, oh, this might not be the patriots night. However, they just killed ramps with stunts all night long. I mean, the Rams just had no answer for these stunts. They were bringing five man rushes a lot Kyle van noy. A lot of Dante Hightower. Those guys were making plays golf stood in their made a couple throws. Even after that that one sacked that led to the field goal. But he was way late on the throw to cooks debt could have been a touchdown in the Rams are moving the ball gin. John Sullivan got a holding penalty, which was at Dr killer. And then finally we had two touchdown Brady to Ataman and then two big plays to gronk including the one where Brady floated the ball beautifully leading to that first down of the game. And then I will give Gough credit even after that golf was dropping dimes on the next drive before he LA interception. Gilmore each just he was under pressure. He tried to throw it up for coaxed in gaining on it, and it wasn't even close give the patriots a lot of credit for almost running the ball. Running the clock completely out Sony. Michelle birkhead, I was surprised Bella check allowed to kick that I thought he go the quarterback sneak to just seal the game. Instead, he went ahead and kicked it and Gostkowski made it thirteen to three lead for the patriots. And that was the final score. Just some other thoughts Bryce some other takeaways. The one thing I would say is when you're a player in the NFL. You always say like it's a team game. It's alternate team sport. Right. But a lot of times we know that it has a lot to do with the quarterback and the head coach that's one of the things I admire the most about the patriots all their Super Bowls. Is it really is the ultimate team sport? I mean Doron Harmon comes in and makes that play where he knocks the ball way from Brandin cooks the play before this define Gilmore interception, and he's only playing out there because Chung got hurt. I mean, it's just it really is pretty impressive. How many? Guys contribute. It. I thought the Rams defensive line. Did a really nice job. It's just seemed like they knew what was going on and Dhamma can sue on the jet. Sweep Dante Fowler on screens and draws. They were trying to make Chris HOGAN beat him. And Chris HOGAN was not capable of beating the patriots had to burn two timeouts in the first six minutes, which was weird. Dietrich? Wise was out there making plays. The Todd Gurley usage was questionable again Brady. It's bad throws in the first half element, great first half. And the only thing I would say is the punters were incredible. I mean, the punters were absolutely incredible. In that game. The only thing I almost forgot Bri is pre-game food for a while there. They had some fruit out and some Snickers and M's always go peanut Eminem's, by the way. Always then they had some mixed greens bread and like chicken fingers, so. I put the chicken fingers on top of the mic screens and had sort of Eyup chicken finger salad that was my pre game. And in a half time. They ruined only had chips, and I couldn't believe it. Because I was in the media workroom, which is attached to the stadium. I actually prefer that. So I can watch it on TV rather than like if you're in the auxiliary pressroom, you're kind of like in the stands, which I don't like because you don't you're not able to really watch on TV as well. But they had the chips than they had the in the third quarter. They finally brought out like pulled pork and chicken, which was nice with roasted potatoes. So overall, I would give a b minus primarily because the execution wasn't all that great. And honestly the game was probably about a C C minus. I also a C plus actually because all I care about ultimately is that the game is competitive. And absolutely was that. Okay. So Super Bowl. It is officially behind us, which means now from an NFL standpoint, we're waiting to go to bed online dot AG Tibet on draft related stuff or futures. "You're just as good as I have. I have no idea. I I three south Florida. So out of touch with music these days your apples, like the only one of the three that actually probably will be able to recognize. Yeah. Yeah. Well, see here's the problem with Mike and Mike and and Patrick up there in Bristol in the control room is that they think it's funny sometimes to accumulate a whole list of music and try to make us think about it. And then in the end not actually have a theme which is. Lazy? It sounds like it's a possibility here. Yes. It was. Absolutely despicable with songs we had previously played and son of man. Yeah. It was ridiculous. This is legit. Okay. Good. Good to know. Okay. So here you go how much attention to you pay and how much do you play the prop bets in Super Bowl week? I think the profits are pro garner. So much more action than than than the game itself was because people out in Vegas and people people of the prompts attract a bunch of different people, the people who wanna bet ten bucks on they'll be safety in the game Bonker twenty when when it bucks for ten dollars. If you bet a little a lot, and that's what it's like the Prosser refund. You get all much different cross board prompts, and it makes a lot of sense. I actually the guys are west gate to unbelievable job with the. The props in their thirty somewhat pages. I circled a few in there that I like let's go to the best bets though, Chris the best bats we haven't over under on his game with fifty six fifty six and a half line right now two and a half most places a few twos out there. So a couple twos. Where are the best bet from crystal Eka for this Cogan? I like the Rams I mean, I guess if you may as well, just take the plus two and a half just to be safe is opposed to the game falls on patriots wander patriots to and we ought to just take the money line. You try to regret yourself doing that? And not just taking the up the points. But I think the Rams on the right side of the game. I think that defensive line is is really good. It's been a really weird dynamic with the patriots of the area in the year. Nobody every. People bet the patriots all year long. And then no one wanted a piece of them late in the year. What's at dolphins off game? And everyone loved the chargers. A me. Guilty is charged didn't wanna play them on their home field. And then most people like cheese. If if they cannot about size probably would've won that game. But I I don't know I in this spot. I think the lands I think girly is healthy down. I think lamb's running game is been the way to attack. The if you go back to that ticket per game with the the patriots early this year. It was really the dealer who already game that really really helped them win that game. And I think the Rams are equipped to do it here. So I do like the Rams, plus the point of view on fool around in the money line. And the other thing is despite how great the patriots have been just run with pretty check. All their games have been one school games. So I guess I look I'm not I never I rarely ever which just tease me game. Because it is a reason they call it teaser. But I mean, what what what would be so terrible about taking the keys in the Rams up to eight and a half. And maybe keep total down to fifty and a half it may and taking the ticket Rams at over fifty and half certainly think we can get to twenty seven twenty four or something about that area. So you like crystal lake and you like the Rams and the two and a half. That's when you feel good about your you'll play that. Okay. Got you. All right. We mentioned the thirty something pages of props. Give me your favorite two or three that you really like, I I think my favorite property is will Stephen dot Cousy. First kickoff touchback and the no is minus one fifty out west gate. If you look at guy Gus Cousy he's one of the has one of the lowest touchdown. Touch back percentages in the in the NFL take sixty four percent, and then forty percents, I'm sorry..

They're showing the block and Devlin gone out of their little bit early trying to get into his position to protect against his all out rush from the chargers pump block team. Cardona will snap. It. Ryan Allen averaged forty five and a half yards per punt this season, he's been rock solid throughout his career for New England. Now in a sixth year out of Louisiana tech, very consistent. Snap from Cardona. Allen voiced it high in the air balances at the five it's down inside the five by Matthew Slater. Eleven years in the NFL, a UCLA, and he does a whole lot of that. Smart. Plays on special teams forty three yard fun. We're gonna spot it at the two. I mean, just perfect best teams execution by the patriots. And as I as you're talking about. Brian Allen the product for the patriots. How good evening? His gingrich. Very good. Bill jiang. Not only has everyone wants to talk about Tom Brady and what they do offense. But the teams every one is held accountable, and they all played a very high level with so impressive. And also talent evaluation Potter's kickers. It's an imperfect science some teams draft them, very high fix and Tampa Bay in particular rivers throws out of his own end zone, right side. It's broken up. Mike Williams with Jesse Jackson. So you say, oh, it's not that hard. Just go. Get yourself a kicker. Get yourself a punter. This team gets upon her or a kicker, and then they stick with them for many many years what from Viteri to Gus Cousy David covered for over two decades at one position and all stars with Belgium because not only is he the head coach. "Michele with a one yard touchdown run. Brady on the drive was seven of eight. And that looked really easy for the New England Patriots. Tony. Oh, it was a great balance. They ran the ball pretty well. But mainly it was the running backs out of the backfield. Six of those seven catches came to running backs five Bloomberg James wine, and this is the chess match between Josh mcdaniels indus- Bradley kind of starts Bradley adjust to the back out of the backfield. And we'll wait and see. But the next big thing. I want to see how feel rivers response when he gets the ball short kickoff from Gus Cousy. So they're not gonna let Desmond king fielded. This is what the charges wanna do. You talked about the patriots. They wanna use the backs out of the backfield to see a little bit of that as well from Bill rivers in the chargers, but more than anything they need to get the run game going. This defense for the patriots is one of the worst when it comes to yards per rush. Giving up four point nine yards. For every rush. That's in the bottom of the NFL. Philip rivers is oh and seven head to head against the combination of Brady and Belichick. They trail seven nothing with seven minutes to go in his opening quarter. Second and ten fake. This is where it gets a little bit interesting though, I'm not your New England is going to be able to beat the Vikings by touchdown. So we're comes out to his that. Even though I think the women's gonna win. I'm probably going to bet on. Minnesota on a little bit of a flyer that they covered a six and a half. It's it's just one of those games where? Yeah, I could see the wing Lind winning it. But I would add the Tate a small bet on the Vikings. If you're so inclined just 'cause Tom Brady has not looked like himself throwing the football this year. Even with save your roads out the the Vikings still have a very good secondary. So I could see this being game where New England just tries to grind it out with the run game. Even though they're gives stop run defense, and we see allow punts being exchanged by both squads and eventually New England poster. But it's not by touchdown ends up. Being Gus Cousy kicked a couple of field goals. So I would say that this case where you could see Minnesota actually covering this one now for the Sunday night game. We got chargers go into Pittsburg chargers or three and a half point underdog. And I like the chargers here, even with Melvin Gordon. Ow. Awesome. Heckler can do a couple of things out of the backfield catching the football that I think he give Pittsburgh some trouble with their linebackers. I don't think their linebackers are actually going to be able to keep up with Austin macular. And I do think you now and has a very good pension of causing a lot of trouble for the Pittsburgh db. So I look at this case where even though you got gotta chargers team that. At times can look like a bit of a pretender I do think the chargers are playoff team. And I think that their road to the play offs. You know, they they're gonna need to get a home playoff game. In in the event of if something happens to chief where like everyone has been writing this office. The chiefs are going to win the division with this cream hunt. News, you never know. So we're going to have to see how the cheese too. But the church's win out. There's a chance that the chargers could actually win this division. Now, it's not the craziest thing in the world. Given the fact that you've got the injure. I mean, you you've you've got you've got a significant absence on the chiefs not due to injury. But because of the suspension. You know, cream hunt was a big part of the cheese. So we're not entirely sure what cheese team is going to show. I don't think that they're going to lose it Oakland. But it's not out of the Rome possibility of the chargers can make late surge starting tonight in Pittsburgh run the table and it puts the onus on the chiefs to actually. Win a couple of games to make sure that they win the division. So I'm I'm not sold on accounting out the chargers just yet. So outside of that. Like, I said I liked the chargers to not only cover as no, no. But I think they're going to win out right now this game. So. We'll take it from there. And we'll see how that one goes goes out. But that should be very interesting southern night football game. Especially considering that Big Ben has been throwing everyone and their mother under the bus for his fuck up in the end zone..

"But even in that case, we've seen people throwing them and stuff. There's just not what not that one dominating, you know, like in fantasy, there's always that one fantasy defense that's putting up crazy points and I don't see it this year, but that might be a symptom of everybody's played five games now or six games and nobody has four good defensive games. Now, speaking of fantasy controversial trade in our league today this morning, fifteen minutes for game time the Jenny's tall, John, and Jamie who were three and two in our league traded with the bar. Ours, our own five, and they own five in the borrows. It was like basically three for one and the Owen five team traded Todd Gurley got back David Johnson, Sony, Michelle. Marshawn Lynch. It was the classic like three quarters for a dollar trade and right eight. If if this was twenty years ago, I felt like this would have led to a seven thousand Email thread with ample being insulted, and people challenge to fight. But now we're on our forties and who gives a shit. But I do think there might we might have to roll tool. We're all too old to fight except for handshake. He'll go for weeks. He doesn't care. Ahead. I knew henches gonna flip out any dead. But I think there should be a real of your own five. Maybe if you're five games under five hundred, you can't trade in fantasy. Are you good with that? Kyle? I like that. I'm cool with that. Once you fall five games back, maybe you, you're not allowed to trade the three best players in your team. There's gotta be something we could do. Hold on. I was on five and I offered you half jokingly. I don't even know if it's a joke anymore offered you gronkowski for Gostkowski and you like, yeah, let's do that kidding. What are you talking about. I, I think gronk is gronk is good for one thirty five yard play now. That's it. And and Gus Cousy ticks five. Phil never missed a field goal. Again, we, you know, it happened since it or something like that. Here's the thing with grant grant has turned, and I've discussed this with the last two years, but now it's really the case rock is now in the garage with like, say, yellow, thank the old people put on their old Mercedes Benz from nineteen seventy two people in Palm Springs. It's like the covered cover, grants, grandma's that cover on. He's just in the garage. And then today Bella check called his his assistant coaches on the headset. He's like, all right. We're gonna have to take rock out of out of the garage for this to run a couple place for him, which is going gonna have to risk it. And then he like you bring out of the garage then saying her. And you just help is why this, what? I wasn't excited about what rooms me talk about the path. Yeah. Yeah, we get on Andy Reid back to the patriots because I don't think we discussed it and we didn't get on Andy Reed's case, but you knew the chief score too soon. Right? Three minutes, late minutes and forty five seconds, right? There's nothing they could have done. I don't expect to pull up there, but when you're hanging on gronk slaves from the ten or the eight yard line and barely trouble hard, really struggling again them down, just let them go give your give the quarterback of the future fifty five seconds to go down field and I think they had a time out it did because they ended up using it..
