Those They Left Behind: The Victims of Roy Melanson
"His cabin they stopped at a gas station to put some air in the leaky tire and they had to buy some more beer because they're all out and it continued on their driver car jerked so the two men the shows with that day no surprise turned out to be Chuck Mathews in Roy Melanson so chuck gone out of the car underneath the chassis and so that Iraq had put a hole in the oil pan so michelle offered to give them in a ride in her car when they made it to town got to her car matthews got into the backseat with oak and Melanson wrote up front with Michelle Michelle drove them back to gunnison asmir thieves bonded with Oak Michelle Cherif Melanson yes it was late afternoon they arrived back at the Columbine Bar Matthews was really surprised though because then he overheard Melanson asked Michelle if she could drive him a few more blocks to where he left his truck now he hadn't even mentioned a truck Matthews Matthews didn't think he had a truck I mean if he had a truck why they've been riding around in his old terrible junker were to prove in itself untrustworthy in absolutely breaking down and leaking air and stuff that's terrible so that's a good question where we take in my old junker but he didn't say anything in Melanson told Matthews he'd be back in a while and rode off in the passenger seat of Michelle's car so matthew went into the bar but he was confused and he decided he'd wait for Melanson to come back and maybe he could give him a ride home in his truck but when Melanson and returned by nine pm matthews called a friend to pick him up and he thought that would be the last seat here this whole thing but the next morning Melanson Grove Michelle Wallace's Redman Asta station wagon to the JC penney storing gunnison and he wrote a fraudulent check to purchase a dress shirt and pants Georgia and Megan Wallace Michelle's parents were back in Chicago thinking that everything was Fine Michelle was alive and well and would be back soon they were really happy that she was going to working as a photographer in North Carolina but September second came and went without a call from Michelle and she promised Maggie that she would call her that day so Maggie called the sheriff in Gunnison to report Michelle Missing Ecorse it had only been a couple of days she was an adult so the dispatcher told her not to worry her daughter and probably just decided to camp for another day or two forgot to collar but Maggie knew better she knew Michelle and she insisted that Michelle would never do that so she persisted and she actually got the sheriff's Department to talk to her and to search scofield part so the next one warning the under sheriff went to Michelle's apartment and saw that she had never returned from her trip so they figure that Michelle could have had an accident the rugged country so the undersheriff co the crested Butte Police Department an SM to look for her car they call them back that evening saying there's no sign ever car. The Maggie's calling repeatedly she's just worried sick a massive search was started by the gunnison sheriff the crested butte police department and the Civil Air Patrol rose also many volunteers helping in the search also Michelle's remained gave the police Michelle's hairbrush I glass says to hold his evidence and this would pay off much later not right away because we're in nineteen seventy four technology and advancements in science in a long way to go through certainly did very minimal right right so it was on September six when Chuck Mathews heard about a missing girl on the radio and we heard the description of Michelle in her dog along with her last known whereabouts he knew that she was a young woman that he had met with Melanson on August thirtieth but of course all he knows about Melanson is his first name was Roy so matthews called the sheriff's department and gave them a description of Michelle of her dog and of her Red Mazda wagon the last time he had seen her was outside of the Columbine bar she drove away with a man who the only numerous Roy and this really sounded bad this made the case sound a lot worse were here it should have been less seen with a man she really didn't know right she just met no one knew who roy was or afraid even his real name then the next day ranch called the sheriff's Department to report that he had shot and killed a dog on September fourth in his dog matched oak description he'd get the thanks caller which had a tag with shells name on it and other people called until the sheriff that they'd seen the dog wandering around in the area since August thirty first again bad news because Michelle and oak had been inseparable yes she's missing in her dog is dead so it's really looking like foul play frakes but a fora was contacted after Chuck Matthews told the police that Roy had told him he had been killing coyotes for a sheep rancher in Scholefield Park Spatafora told them that he had employed Roy and he knew his last name it was worry Melanson regarded her name mill food yeah yeah but of course Melanson had left the area he had arrived in Pueblo and Michelle's Mazda on August thirty first and he had spent the night with sally the fourteen year old and got one of her sisters to drive him to where he had parked the Mazda he told her that a friend had left it there for him to us so at this point I really have to question Sally's mother Lucille Burdens judgment here what the Hell's going on it's almost like she's prostituting her daughter you know well he's kind of staying at their house it's very weird and I don't know where the father was I know he was working it didn't ever come home and see what's going on it's really strange disturbing situation that's an understatement for this time though Melanson seemed to be doing much better financially than the last time the Burton girls had seen him he had new clothes new camping equipment and a really nice camera now salad use the camp took a picture of Melanson laying on the couch behind one of her friends yes oh what's this man doing in the House with these teenage girls laying on the couch it's also creepy Dick I just don't understand it we don't have any information or any any reasons why her mother true things the way she do now I mean what I've read about the case there was always just the idea that he was such a smooth talker in so convincing but to me nobody's that convincing that you're going to let him hang around your fourteen year old weird hat royals yeah Melanson didn't stay in Pueblo very long on September eighth in Cedar Falls Iowa when he was there he joined Michelle's camera backpack and sleeping bag than in elk city Iowa he made a guy named Thurman Wilder in a bar and the two started talking while they're told him that he was a heavy equipment raider looking for a job and Melanson told him that he had a friend in Pueblo who owned a construction company and he was sure that his friend would hire wilder I think he was just trying to get a ride there I guess he was always trying to get something from someone he was with the conman are always still have was in his white Cadillac and when they got to Amarillo Texas Melanson duck the Mazda and he ended up writing the rest of the trip with wilder in the Cadillac Hitt told wilder that his car needed repairs and he was taking it to shop and they'd pick it up on the way back then on September twelfth an anonymous caller are reported a suspicious white cadillac that was hanging around a high school and the Cadillac was pulled over and Melanson said that he and Wilder just waiting to pick up Sally Burton at school which is pretty creepy right there your suit is but when Nelson's driver's license was checked the police discovered that he was wanted for rape and Texas so both Melanson and wilder were arrested and wilder gave permission for his car to be searched and the these funds several different items belonging to Michelle Wallace in the Cadillac these things included her car registration her driver's license insurance discard and also some of her camping equipment so there's no explanation that he's going to be able to give for that wouldn't appear to be so melanson was searched police found his unused best ticket from gunnison to Pueblo and found Semis two keys and two point tickets sleeping bag in a backpack then one of the offices remembered the beyond the lookout for a red monster station wagon on by Michelle while so let's solve this crime didn't we well no not really into which is a long way to go with that the Pueblo detectives are pretty sharp they contacted gunnison and learned about the search for Michelle the Amarillo police found Michelle's car it was abandoned one block from a bar recalled the hard hat lounge now the car was searched but nothing was found that would have indicated foul play so nothing they give us evidence and nothing that would help them and find Michelle of course they interviewed Melanson and he finally did admit to spending time with the Burton's and having a relationship with the teenage Sally but he denied that he'd ever had sex with sally you know they would just hanging around 'cause they had so much in common together you're just good friends sure I'll grown men have fourteen year old girl says their friends interviewed sally she told him that she hadn't Melanson in July your family's cabin and she said that she did actually have sex with him so restores here I'm thinking I'm going to bully sally absolutely he had traumatized her quite a bit and so isn't the statutory rape yes should be but you know you're gonNA find here that he really gets away with a lot for long time it's really frustrating after extensive interviews Melanson insisted on speaking to the FBI and eventually he said that he did remember Eating Michelle he said he had a drink with her in a bar and she had left her dog tied up outside then he said he'd made up an excuse to borrow her car and she had led him so he just taken off in her car and it never seen her again not very believable story no bishop since he had all her things on his position Russian was stopped that anyway we'll we'll take a story so investigators suspected Nelson in Michelle's disappearance so in three other Texas rapes and Texas murder and then the police in Louisiana also wanted to question mallets about a series of murders in their state great so it looks like he's just done a lot of crimes that he's gotten away with Chuck Mathews was brought in and he was able to identify Melanson as the man Michelle's car when he last saw them after that detectives were convinced that they had Michelle's killer but without a body the prosecutor wouldn't charge him with murder so they were kind of step yeah I mean I know this is forty five years ago so things are different because we've done some cases where they've prosecute you didn't prosecuted successfully people with nobody well it certainly can be done but you need a lot of other evidence where it sounds like they got your amount the first thing you know you have to be able to prove the person's dad that's the first obstacle where you have to be able to maybe not prove but beyond a shadow of doubt so did now same thing to me or care so searchers though they continue to look on the ground and from the for Michele Maggie and George Wallace her parents held out hope that Michelle would be found alive of course but a new about Melanson story and they knew it was a lie she wouldn't have loaned her car to a stranger but unfortunately no evidence was found that Michelle had been killed or like I said even that she was dead Maggie she'd never see her daughter again that started to set in and she fell into a really deep depression she was crying every day and people said she just looked totally lost six weeks after Michelle had disappeared the Colorado detectives asks for her dental

"Hi. I'm Matt and I'm Brad. This is Park Land and today we're talking about Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park in Colorado history now that you know how deep and dark and Raging Canyon is you can understand why native Americans and settlers were so intimidated by it and why avoided it like the plague yeah. This is definitely the type of Kenyan really brings a screeching halt to any travel expedition. It's almost completely vertical drop the hian walls so not great for horseback back riders or any living thing that doesn't fly the youth Indians called the river much rocks big water which is totally fits the debt in the darkness of the Canyon made them superstitious of it yeah. They were right to be supersensitive of it. I think something this the treacherous is definitely worrisome. It looks like like I said. It looks like it could be an evil place. I totally understand yeah. The first time anyone actually recorded did any major exploration of this place was in eighteen fifty three by captain. John Williams no other than gunnison his last name so now you know where the river gets is it yeah and much like Lewis and Clark similar kind of exploratory fashion. He was leading an expedition from Saint Louis San Francisco and when as party hit at the Canyon was basically this giant roadblock so he wound up eventually going way out of his way to travel around south end of the Canyon because it was just an impassable impassable yeah he wasn't the last person to meet up at the Canyon. Though when we stopped at the visitor center in the South Rim we learn more about the Canyon exploration at the movie screen. They were having having a really good movie by the way like especially good. I think it's one of the Best National Park Movies we've seen. We've seen a lot. We always make that a priority yeah yeah. I was filled with some fascinating information in we had no idea about most of it lying. How William Jackson Palmer spent a ton of time and money to build a railroad road from Denver. through the San Juan Mountains Yeah I mean quite an undertaking and it did take a ton of time and money of course like more than a year to construct a fifty mile stretch through the canyon which wound up costing about one hundred and sixty five thousand dollars per mile and that's a lot of money like nowadays but considering this was in the late eighteen hundreds. That's an overwhelming amount of money. I can't even fathom what that must have been like for them to even attempt yeah that's just crazy and then in eighteen eighty two an engineer named. Bob Bryan Bryant surveyed the entire Canyon though a lot of his crew gave up because they were actually too frightened of it. Yeah I got a I would definitely do the same thing they wound up building the rest of the railroad again around the South End of the Canyon which seems to be the go-to who kind of alternative route and in addition to minors writing it to Utah was also used as a luxury travel for vacationers including shockingly shockingly Rudyard kipling a nice little Disney connection. I know right yeah so perfect so he wrote a in eighteen eighty nine and he was totally we spent with it. He loved it. I wish he wrote age. I'm GonNa Book Sequel called the Canyon Bucker. Something eventually that drain aligned was taken apart in the nineteen nineteen fifties though so there's no more of that today and in the early nineteen hundreds other surveyors began looking for ways to reroute some of the new river into you nearby valleys to help with irrigation in the farming right right which is another fun fact we have zero idea about until the movie washed at the visitor's center. Someone really needs to give that movie like a belated Oscar or something. It's really very well Don. NC print formative and in that we learned about Abraham Lincoln Fellows Lewis and William Torrens doing that exploring and they actually floated the entire canyon length of the river. I know rubber mattress I can I mean wooden boats would have been just shattered and by the rocks and so they had to come up with plan B yeah and they they did it they went for which sounds like the most terrifying thing but miraculously duo made it out safely on their mattress boat and they're able to find sites in the Canyon along the way okay to build this river diversion tunnel. They're looking for which is just totally crazy to think about how intense these explorations here have been over the years and the different techniques aches and attempts that were made from various groups like wow yeah. I'm Black Canyon is not an easy to navigate and this just proves the incredible strength of nature it it really does nowadays no one's floating that reverend a mattress instead blacken and the gunnison was named a National Monument in Nineteen thirty-three and upgraded to national parks at us in one thousand nine thousand nine which I think is a very fitting finale for this ferociously beautiful place.

That's what she want those kids in the seller she then bundle the remains buried these in the hog pen and the grounds about the house bill become an expert at dissection. Thanks to instruction she received from her second husband Pierre Gunness a butcher. She's torched the house and fled. Maybe old conduct didn't plant those who knows who knows lanphier it helped her he admitted but she but she had not left by the road where he waited for her. After the fire had been set she betrayed by cutting across open fields and then disappeared into the woods cracks me up of all this is true this. She's throwing him under the bus. Get Him all kinds of legal trouble while secretly possibly working with him. I mean maybe he really was just kind of that dumb. Maybe he loved it that much to go along with some crazy plan of hers that made no sense but she sold it to him. She was very manipulative. Lanphier said the guns was a rich woman she had murder lease forty two men by his count. Perhaps more I think definitely more if he's again telling the truth because she was killing guys way before he came into the picture he also said she had taken account or amounts from these guys ranging from one thousand thirty two thousand dollars and allegedly had accumulated more than two hundred fifty thousand.

And delay penalty on San Jose play left side, rish shopping up over the, the stick side of jolt more to walk, the line Terasenko in the left circle video download for trans loan trying to feed out in front and tear sacred knockdowns couple of blues down the ice, but it's going to be stopped. Don't see every crawl sit on the bench. Of course he came into the game banged up. And you know some of his play lead to two of the three blues goals Pete divorce for the second straight game has shuffled up all the lines. He's put them in the blender he says, and the crowd. And Pavane ski went down to the San Jose locker room coupla Belsky right on the button all physicality in this series. Maybe now paying the price on the San Jose Sharks. It's been overwhelming. "Gunnison. Well, nothing happened in much overnight. The Japanese market down eight tenths of one percent, China down four tenths Frankfort up four tenths our markets will be closed tomorrow. This will end trading week today when the bell rings at four PM eastern standard time. And tomorrow course, Good Friday initial jobless claims last week. I said I've never seen a print below two hundred thousand until Thursday will guess what this week's initial jobless claims once again under two hundred thousand which underscores the strength in the US jobs market. We have one hundred ninety two thousand initial jobless claims filed this past week versus two hundred six thousand consensus. That's also a little bit of the reason why the Dow is up fifty points right now. Nasdaq though, however down twenty four points, we've had a few NASDAQ earnings NASDAQ related earnings that are causing that another big report today the March retail sales numbers fly by. Estimates. Now, I want you to once again, I'm going to give the analogy of the mighty Mississippi River and all the tributaries of flow into the mighty Mississippi River, I think the Mississippi is a very good analogy for the US economy. You wanna flowing you wanted moving. You don't want it stagnant. You don't want going backwards. Do you? We'll all those tributaries that feed into the mighty Mississippi or the US economy are things like initial jobless claims which reported every Thursday. The monthly retail sales numbers, which help us gauge the strength of the consumer which the consumer is about eighty percent of the economy. We look at things like PMOI, and we looked at things like CPI which measures inflation. We look at things like the jobs report, how many jobs were created all of these are tributaries and streams that flow into the mighty Mississippi and help us gauge the the swiftness of the current thereof and the US economy now, I listen to an entire interview this morning with Jamie diamond CEO of J P Morgan Bank. Let me just say something that guy is sharp. It's one of the sharpest minds I've ever listened to. He talked so fast in his mind move so quickly. It's almost hard to keep up with them. But he's a brilliant guy. And he was asked once again by Maria badeah Romo was interviewing him, Jamie. Do you see any signs of a US recession out there on the horizon? She's talking the next one to two years. All right. And this comes from somebody you talk about boots on the ground. Okay. Sometimes not only does he have boots. He has hit boots. Sometimes he has chest waders. He's deep into the US economy. And once again, Jamie diamond reiterated that he does not at the current on time. See any prospects for a recession looming out there on the horizon. And that's why I continue to say that the sun continues to to to shine on the markets. Oh, not every day. Not every week not every month. But I want you to plot to dots. This is from geometry one. All right. I remember my geometry teacher point. Loma is school Hazel gets off. She was about eighty three years old she'd been teaching geometry for seventy three of those years right there at point Loma high school, but I still remember plotting to dots. What do we call? The the connection of two dots. We call that a line. All right. I want you to plot six hundred and sixty seven okay on the left and on the right? I want you to plot two thousand nine hundred and connect those dots. And which way is the slope. That's another one. Remember, the slope the slope of that line? That is created the slope of that line is. Up to sidedly up. The market remains in a primary up for that is the definition of a bull market now along the way there's lots of secondary trends within that primary trend, but the primary trend is still up meaning the bowl market is still in place. It in fact, we're getting very very very very close to exceeding that October high of last year, which will then weaken absolutely say that we celebrated the tenth anniversary of the ball back on Mark seven, but what we're concerned with now. And what I am highly focused on on a daily basis is monitoring that bull market no different than the last ten years. I'm a guy who's been right for ten years and. I still see another couple of years in this thing that could change. We're getting earnings every single day. We're getting economic reports every single day. But from what I see now people that want to grow their money because when the sun stop shining, you're not going to be able to grow your money. You're gonna have to you have to put the harvest over on the sidelines. Protect rbis. But it's still a good time to be harvesting in your 4._0._1._K's, your IRA's your college funds yet. Like, I say when I was in Dallas, I talked to a whole lot of folks that have been on the sidelines. Some of them for years and have missed out on this growth opportunity, and they say why should I get in? Now, it's been going for ten years. And like I say I've heard that argument for the last ten years every single year. I've heard that argument. Well, I believe that you have to have growth. With vigilance. "Professional money manager, Bill Henderson, president of gunnison capital management. And I'm here in a border state today. I'm in Texas. I'm in the grapevine area of Dallas, Texas. It's a beautiful day outside little hazy. But other than that looks like a mighty fine day. And I'm looking forward to meeting with a lot of folks here today tonight. Night at six thirty pm of already checked the room. Nice hotel nice facility point. I'm used to stay at the motel five this is beautiful here. It will be doing a workshop tonight at six thirty pm looks like there's plenty of parking here. You don't have to worry about that. I don't know about the traffic getting here and all that. But look I've got a lot to say tonight six thirty. He m. I am at the Hilton conference center by the lake you know, what it's not like right on the lake I can see through binoculars. But there is a lake back there somewhere we are at the Hilton in the grapevine area. Remember, I said that you heard it through the grapevine I have six hundred and thirty five b plus or Vetter stocks today in my best stocks now app. This continues to be a very healthy market isn't too healthy. Well, maybe just a little bit, but we had some huge technical breakouts. Here recently in the Dow and the s&p five hundred in the NASDAQ. I hope you follow along in my newsletter every week because I do technical analysis on all the major asset classes weekly that is part of a. In house research that I do for myself, but I share it with you in my news letter every Saturday, go to Garson, capital dot com. Well, we had a little bit of a rally yesterday, and then it fell flat. In fact, we had about a three day move going win streak going until Walgreens boots alliance. Put a dent into that. Walgreens, boots alliance is a member of the Dow Jones industrial average. Let's just see how it's treating the Dow today, but it did get Pitt. Yes. Down another eight cents today. Let's see how Boeing's doing today. Member of the Dow, okay. Boeing probably dragging the Dow down a little bit bowing down one percent this morning yesterday. Maybe we had a little bit of a consolidation in the recent move up that we've had today is a big day in the U S, China trade talks, boy, I'll tell you. They've even got people reading the body language of the participants as they enter the the Powell room the Powell tent where they're going over supposedly final details of a memorandum of understanding. Well, they are also trying to figure out how to enforce it because China has been known to not exactly live up to bargains. It's made in the past. So that is a big sticking point that the that the US particularly has to get past past is how do we enforce these new rules in U S, China trade? Well, the global markets pretty optimistic that something's going to come from this this week. Of course, they're back on our home turf today. Japan was up one percent overnight Hong Kong up one point two percent. China up one point two percent and even Europe kicking in with a three quarter of a percent rise. In advance of the Powell today. US Trade Representative Robert lighthizer. He's the big guy. He's like one below Trump in these negotiations and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, he's the guy that signs your dollar bills. They're set to resume trade talks today, which I need vice president Lu he and global equities are rallying in response to positive statements surrounding the discussion someone even gave a a smile at a wave one of the sternest trade Representative from China turned and smiled and waved to one of the members of the media, and he took that to mean. Deal is close American and Chinese officials are said to have negotiated ninety percent of the deal that last percent. Let me tell you. I've had to negotiate some deals in the past. It's that last ten percent. That's really the stickler. They're still haggling over how to implement and inforce such and agreement. Well, we'll see what comes out of this today. Tomorrow and Friday, we got the ADP jobs numbers. They were worse than expected. But right now, I would say that bad news is good news because that holds the fed at bay. But on the other hand, we don't want to see a sinking economy economy sinking towards recession. According to ADP. And of course, Friday, we get the official numbers from the government with the the monthly nonfarm payrolls report, the ADP numbers one hundred twenty nine thousand versus one hundred sixty five thousand expected so we come up a little bit short thirty six thousand short of the number that was expected for job creation that according to a the Stockton. I own my income and growth portfolio. Well, that could hold the fed at bay the bond market is mostly yawning at the numbers. The ten year treasury is still holding onto a four basis point gain for the day. It's up to two point five two now. And of course, we know what we were cleared down at two point three seven last week two point three seven were. Fifteen basis points. I hope you locked your loan last week and wait till this week member. I told you lock that loan now baby got some low interest rates out there. That's the big south east wildlife exposition lot of wildlife art and hunting dogs and. Bait demonstrations cast nets bait try to wander over there. Sometime later in the day with the market cools down a little bit. Let's pretty fun. A lot of people in town here for the whole weekend in Charleston to attend suey. If you're in the neighborhood stop on by. Well, there may be a preliminary agreement between us and China. A memorandum of understanding. Okay. All right. I've seen a few of those memorandums of understanding. Well, that's where we're at right now that is helping the market here. A lot this morning, especially the Dow especially those multinationals that have been really rocked by all of this China tariff trade spat news off and on over the last year. I think has been almost a year now since President Trump started this all well, there's not much inflation going on in China. You might think well, that's a good thing. But it's showing that their their consumer price index rose that the weakest pace in a year, and the figure suggests that China will struggle to reverse last year's broader economic slowdown which was the worst in a decade. So what a Donald Trump due to China? Well, their biggest slow down economic slowdown. In over ten years. And now we're in almost beginning year two of that trade war, but we may have we did have a truce that is good for two more weeks. So white flag a cease-fire, no more. Escalating, no more upping, the ante Alcee York Arifin raise you buy do tariffs. No more of that business going on a memorandum of understanding something out of wording like that. And that's got the market all excited. Hot and bothered here today, we'll see whether or not it can last. We had kind of a weekday yesterday in the market. Just kind of hugging. That flat line has all of this going on in the background. In fact, China was down one point four percent. Overnight Hong Kong was down one point nine percent. And of course, here in the US everything was love. Yesterday on Valentine's Day until the retail sales report came out yesterday morning before the market opened and the positive futures went flat. And then quite a bit down with a very soft retail sales report. And the Dow was also lead downwards by Coca Cola. It's was down seven percent today. Flat earnings and sales that continue to shrink at Coca Cola, and they had guidance that was very prudent very cautious for two thousand and nineteen Coca-Cola CEO James Quincy, blaming the global slowdown. Well, you know, I kind of think maybe the world saturated in coke, and it's getting harder and harder and harder and harder to find new markets, and it's harder and harder and harder to grow existing markets. There's a lot of. Small type of craft sodas out there. Now, there's just a lot of competition in that space, and it continues to pinch the pride of Atlanta KO Gocha cold all they're not knocked out there still a multibillion dollar company, but the stock was down seven percent yesterday. Well today, we have Pepsi they're big nemesis. Their big competitor kinda like Lowe's and Home Depot one on one quarter one on the other quarter staring each other down Pepsi's doing varying a little bit better today. Pepsi is up two point eight percent. Today. You know, what I would say about Pepsi versus Coca Cola Pepsi did diversify quite a bit when they bought frito lay. That's a good thing. You know, give the folks a lot of salty convenient snacks, get them thirsty. And you gotta wash it down with a cold, Pepsi. Pepsi's earnings were up fourteen percent year over year, but sales are grinding to a halt growth in sales growth in sales zero percent. They sold nineteen point five billion dollars worth of Pepsi this quarter last year and this year, they sold. Exactly the same nineteen point five. There's just not any growth what's the dividend yield on Pepsi? Well, you're going to get a three point two percent. Dividend yield are headquartered in New York. Until I don't know. We'll all he'll Cortez force them out of New York those greedy corporate money grubbing, Pepsi Cola hundred sixty two billion dollars in market capitalisation. But you know, what I'm not in favor of non growth companies, what drives capital appreciation growth in earnings. You always have to keep growing as a company well with Pepsi and Coca Cola. You know, it's very difficult. You just can't do it. You get so big. I mean, WalMart has the same problem were you going to put a new WalMart? You've got one everywhere. Disturbed potent walmarts in China. I guess Invidia beats earnings by seventeen cents. Now. Nvidia I been talking about that this week that is a stock. That is highly watch it's got a big following. Their earnings did beat by seventeen cents they missed on revenues. However, I do not own in video, you know, the stock recently was cut in half. And then some in about a three month period of time. And if you think it's a good bye right now. Well, they beat earnings pretty handily in the stock is only up two percent right now get this their earnings that they just reported. They beat earnings, but their earnings are down fifty three percent from the same quarter last year when crypto currency and bitcoin mining was a booming business not anymore earnings down fifty three percent at Invidia sales down twenty four percent and Invidia. And by the time this year is over analysts are looking for a twenty percent drop in NVIDIA, do stocks followed. Earnings well in video was two hundred ninety two in late September. And it's now one hundred and fifty eight. Earnings down. Fifty three percent stock down about the same. Okay. Very very tight correlation between earnings growth or the shrinkage thereof and stock price appreciation or stock price depression, which side of the street. Do you want to.

"Bill Henderson, president of gunnison capital management broadcasting from the shores of the historic Ashley river in Charleston, South Carolina will begin a new wake with sixty seven b plus or better stocks in my database of about five thousand that's not a very good number. In fact, it's a very weak number and while the fundamentals of the market remained. Very good the sentiment and the the technical of the market currently remain, very very weak sixty-seven be plus her better stocks. I normally have about three or four hundred and a healthy market. And that number has been as low as thirty five you're recently that was back in late October. I have one hundred thirteen out of five thousand a or better grade momentum stocks I'll be looking at those sixty seven b plus her better those hundred and thirty a or better, maybe some of them are inverse funds, some of those inverse funds. Look pretty good right now. I have added just a few here and there. To some of my portfolios. As you know, the market technicals remained, very very weak. And the big question on everybody's mind is the market deeply oversold or result. Is it moving into a bear market? But once again, I get tacked that issue in my newsletter over the weekend. If you didn't get it. If you have never gotten it before you can go to my website at gunnison, capital dot com. I put a great deal of work once again into that newsletter going down every nook and cranny alley way, back alley of the market looking at all the various valuation indicators technical indicators economic reports you name it what we had another big sell off in the market on Friday. We gotta go back and remember Friday, I hate to. But the market was down what five hundred point something like that on Friday that worked out to a two percent drop much of that was around the baby power plunge in Johnson and Johnson. But that also spread the Amazon Amazon was down. Four percent on Friday. Apple apple Microsoft net were all lower by about three percent on Friday. In a lot of that tumble. Was also not only Johnson and Johnson's talcum powder problems. But also a weaker than expected China economic growth report. Well, that's bad news for China. But it may be a silver lining out there because the weaker China's economy gets the more anxious than the more angst. There is to strike up some kind of a trade grand trade deal, which I still believe is coming. I just don't think that we can afford to not get a trade deal with China. And I don't think China can afford not to get a trade deal with us. In the meantime, the two sides, go back and forth. But last week China's November retail sales numbers rose eight point one percent, which is pretty good. But it was weaker than expected and marked the flowing pace since two thousand and three they also had weaker than expected industrial production numbers in China. And of course, we're also seeing a continued weakness in the European economy. We're now are in correction territory on all of our major indexes. They have not moved into a bear yet. Although the Russell two thousand is getting very close to that bear territory. So we are on bare watch right now we've had nine plus years of bull market. And as I say, the fundamentals of the market still remain. Extremely good the sentiment which is the other half of the equation remains extremely weak right now. And it didn't help that on Friday. We had a federal judge in Texas throw out ObamaCare. And now, you're seeing major weakness in the healthcare sector, and this was the sector. Look the best of all before all of this hit over there. Johnson and Johnson. And now with ObamaCare. Well, it's going to be appealed over and over and over again, but that has thrown the healthcare sector now into a tizzy along with the technology sector along with the energy sector, but having said all of that the fundamentals of the market remain, very, very good. In fact, we closed Friday with they forward PE ratio on the on the S and P five hundred under fifteen. And that hasn't happened for a long long time. The forward p E ON the Chinese market is even much lower that then that down at around ten percent. Well, world markets were mixed overnight. Japan was up six tenths of a percent. The the chart on the on the Nikkei does not look good. I showed that over the weekend. China was up two percent two tenths of one percent overnight. The chart of China. The Shanghai index looks very very promising right now. And Europe was basically down three tenths of one percent overnight. The chart of the European market. Looks extremely weak right now. Well, we'll have one more fed decision before the end of the year. And we are expecting the fourth rate hike of two thousand and nineteen and President Trump took another swipe at the fed before their decision. He tweeted it's incredible that the fed is even considering yet another rate hike given that the dollar is strong. And that there was virtually no in place in well, I would agree with that. We had CPI numbers. We had PPI numbers last week. Pretty benign. We're not seeing any inflation out there. And he's also right about the strong dollar, but the fed remains fairly hawkish. And it's almost a certainty. That they will hike again here on December the nineteenth that's two days. That's Wednesday of this week. We're expecting a nother rate hike. All right. Well, we also have continued problems in the UK. There was some talk over the weekend of Theresa May calling for a second Brexit referendum. But she said this morning now. No, the English people have spoken UK has spoken, and we are going to carry out the will of the people. They just can't seem to get an agreement with the EU who's basically telling them to not let the door hit them on the way.

I said the to our security team gunnison, you know, if you're tired and worry I can drive because I drove in Syria, and there were like, no, no, no, no, no, no. This is not possible here. You can't literally can't. So how did you come in contact with these three particular women? So I'm John are Muhammad in two thousand fifteen when she was in New York to speak at a Security Council at the UN, and I was fascinated the straight away, you know, where, you know, talk and interview actually wrote an article about her, and, you know, the about her work she described his shelters as she describes the work that they do imbibed. And so this is how I met her and Russia for lot. I knew about her because traveling in the region for work as a journey for as a journalist. I knew about her and then also joy Lawrence that person. You had on a podcast. Stayed with her for dog refer. Yes, photographer Mazen photographer, and he talked to me about hearing saying she was the real deal. And he was right. She is the real deal. She's very shy. Nobody really knows about her background so much for reasons that we can get into. And so, you know, I was fascinated by this person who was an forefront and fighting is is but gave so little interviews or never really talked about her life and what she's doing. So this is why I selected her and the third one actually the Kurds. Told me about e I and said, you know, we know about this woman about saliva far you should look into her. So we started a Skype Skype conversations to understand, you know, what really she was doing because I tend to prep all my subjects before worse than to understand who they are. And if they're real if it's propaganda, and whatever, and she is amazing. She's incredible. And she has no fear whatsoever. She's ready to sacrifice her personal life. And she does sacrifice personal life every day. And and so we left I also assume being on film and being a part of a documentary. There is not they don't see it. As like a glamorous thing. I wanna become famous or anything like that. I think if anything they'd prefer to go under the radar, so we're any of the women reluctant to be a part of film. I think that the reasons security issue. That we shouldn't overlook because it's very important especially for someone like young are or Salai that they're not technically at war or older. They are your north organiz ation to said before it was like a semi clandestine organization because it's a legal top rate to run women's shelters in Iraq. Yes, exactly..
