"So some of the same names there on both of those teams, which is interesting because Jason giambi and Mark bellhorn, et cetera, they were not winning World Series with the a's or appearing in World Series, I should say. So you don't always have to have been the affiliate of a parent club that is the big red machine, let's say. You can just trade guys or have guys leave via free agency and it just so happens that they do it in a row, but you had a lot of talent, of course you can have a lot of talent on a farm team, and that doesn't mean you're guaranteed to win World Series or even win penance a few years down the road. Now if we go one level lower to a ball, and again, remember, it's harder and harder the lower you go to extend these streaks, but at a ball, the record is actually longer than at high a or double a, so the record in apol is the Lansing lug nuts, 2007 to 2017, and the Lansing lug nuts were a Blue Jays affiliate during that time. And before that, the cubs, so those teams were not winning World Series during those years, so again, sort of surprising, but a lot of it is luck, you know, part of this streak was just extended by a middle reliever who was on a pennant winning team each year. So this started in 2007, Jeremy affeldt, then Chad Durbin, Matt trainer, Mark rep chitinsky, Ryan Terry, Ryan dempster, Carlos Beltran, Tim Collins Noah syndergaard, Jan Gomes, and finally in 2017 rich hill, but again, that relied on a felts and who just so happened to be on pennant winning teams doesn't mean they were superstars, or rich hell for that matter who was on the 2017 Dodgers team that went to the World Series. That was 14 years after he was a lancing lugnet, and many organizations later. And then finally, Greg speculated that maybe a Yankees affiliate would be somewhere on this list, and he was right. The Rookie level record is the Gulf Coast league Yankees 1995 through 2001, perhaps not shocking there, although it started with a former GCL Yankee who did not win a pennant with the Yankees Fred mcgriff, then Andy Fox, and then the dynasty years and the core four and Bernie Williams, the aforementioned Andy Pettit all the way up to Alfonso soriano in 2001. And then the streak was broken. So it's a little unpredictable. Sometimes yeah, you can be a farm team of the Yankees or the reds when they're a dynasty. Sometimes your affiliation just bounces around a bit and you just so happen to have a player who's on a pennant winning team. But I'm sorry to say Greg, this does not further your case for the reds being interesting or at least for the Dayton dragons being interesting, although depending on how you handle 94 a reds affiliate is involved in the record. So I hope that helps. Thanks as always to Ryan and check out his hard work. In the spreadsheet linked from the show page. Do we think that it's because we're underestimating? I mean, maybe not you and me, although probably you and me, but collectively we underestimate just how much movement there is among the player population prior to debut or that there are just some teams that are particularly good at it. I don't know, that's an interesting thing. I'm kind of glad to be surprised because it suggests that there are threads of good player dev that I'm maybe not appreciating all the time or at least in certain historical periods. But yeah, that's a very interesting one. I don't know that I would have guessed at least half of those. I mean, I definitely wouldn't have guessed this specific ones because as we learned from my half Twilight rant, I don't always keep track of what affiliates belong to whom super well, but even just the parent organizations in that stretch time. So yeah, cool question. Okay, and we'll close with this meter major leaguer. Made a major league of I'm very eager to meet this nation major league girl it's the thrilling debut of somebody new. Let's make this mysterious major league. So it's been a while since we've done a meet a major leaguer. We haven't seen major leaguers playing for a while, but we have wanted to keep this segment alive and today wanted to do something a little different. We have highlighted Negro leagues players in the past, but mostly we have focused on new major leaguers who have just recently made their debut and might be lost in the shuffle just because there are so many major leakers being used in a typical season these days. But today, just wanted to do meet a major leaguer Ukraine edition because of course, many people's thoughts are with Ukraine. We're all watching Ukraine these days. And Ukraine does have some history of producing major league players. It's not a long and illustrious history, but it has happened, and this is related to something that we talked about last week. I got an email from listener Isaac Johnston, who says, I just listened to episode 1816 with Kerry yo nakagawa about Japanese American baseball and the use of baseball to integrate into American Ness. It was a fascinating discussion and reminded me of the experiences of European Jewish immigrants in the early 20th century, though they didn't bring baseball with them from Eastern Europe. They quickly used the game to assimilate into American culture as mister nakawa mentioned baseball and American Ness was obviously a radicalized and Christianity defined concept at that time. So Jews operated within a strange space between other Christian European immigrants who were quickly assimilated into whiteness and their religious otherness for decades Jewish immigrants faced blatant and systemic anti semitism while trying to use baseball to become American interestingly after a few decades of being in America baseball was frowned upon as a waste of time within parts of the American Jewish community and Isaac sent me his senior college thesis, which is actually on this subject. So I will link to that on our show page. But just quoting from his conclusion here, as Jews began their mass migration to the United States in 1880, they saw their new country as a land rape with the possibility to determine their own future. In contrast to the Eastern European countries they left, Jews did not have to endure any process of Emancipation from legal discrimination in the United States once they arrived they could immediately become Americans, but what did it mean for them to be Americans in a Christian dominated English speaking society for the first time in the very long history of the Jewish people Jewish immigrants at the beginning of the 20th century had the chance to define themselves as part and parcel of their country's populace and upon arrival at Ellis island Jews looked around America and saw the cultural importance and social weight of baseball, the game that the relatively young country had adopted as its national game Jews seized upon the game of baseball as both a recreation and as a means of becoming American with impressive speed and it goes on from there, I'd encourage everyone to check that out. But that leads me to today's major leaguer who is isidor Izzy Goldstein. So there are three historical major leaguers who were born in what is now Ukraine. So they all came from Odessa, which of course is a big port city in Ukraine that is currently bracing for an attack. And all three major leaguers who were born in what is now Ukraine came from Odessa, Bill kristol was the first and he was a left handed pitcher who pitched for the 1901 Cleveland blues, the second was Ruben Ewing who pitched for the 1921.

Yankees Mark bellhorn Matt trainer Mark rep chitinsky Ryan Terry Carlos Beltran Noah syndergaard Jan Gomes GCL Yankee Fred mcgriff Andy Fox Andy Pettit Ukraine baseball Dayton dragons Jason giambi reds Chad Durbin Jeremy affeldt Tim Collins

"In the chase for your next milestone three thousand hits would look like not that long ago a milestone that would take close to a full season for cabrera to end up reaching. It ended up falling that season-long expectation six weeks before the the tigers last game and obviously miguel brera would have loved to have done it at home or in miami where he's from but that doesn't always happen so he hit his five hundred in toronto right and in all honesty. That really couldn't have been a worst plate better place. I guess you could say other than at home homemade at an in detroit or at omen miami. I mean it's pretty awesome. Would like he just missed hitting it. Wednesday night Or pat this past wednesday About a week ago now sending a fly ball to right field warning track off angels. closer russ rice l. a. glaze. And he he almost was able to do it at home and the and the tigers fans were all there watching him but unfortunately he wasn't able to get that one out but shohei ohtani said after that game back this past that past wednesday. I believe it was on the eighteenth of august He said show it said. Obviously he's a great hitter and one of the greatest of all time and he's a wonderful person i've dealt when i've dealt with him he so respected in the baseball world it i it would have been okay if i gave up his five hundred th homer personally. I want to see it happen soon. Cabrera emitted felt the pressure. You went eight homeless games after hitting his four hundred ninety nine home run in baltimore. He went four for thirty one cents. That drive when he stepped to the plate. Sunday with one out in the sixth and add a one to nothing. Detroit deficit grope last week. In detroit was tough. It was the first time in five six years. I see a crowd like that excited with a lot of energy. He said it was nice to see a lot of fans. It was nice to see energy backing comerica park. There was a lot of things going on in my mind. Because i want to do this in detroit but it's tough to hit a home. It's tough to hit home. Runs over there like it is. That's a pitcher's ballpark. It's really hard to get one al in in detroit it really is. That's there's a reason why like when you have when you look at the pitchers over there. They typically have lower eerie. Er just because it's it's tough ballpark to hit home. Runs in matt started them off. Though with a pair of ninety four mile an hour singers and with a one count they did try and change the speeds and try and get to cabrera chasing off the plate with the change up but cabrera's opposite field swing and swing. The he's been working on all you're trying to ingrain which the swing he said was inconsistent. It connected when miguel cabrera was asked if he thought it was gone off the bat. Cabrera said no. I don't think so when i hit it. I say come on get up. Get up something like that. But i play commerical. Parks every fly ball that too. That part is out. I'm glad i hit the fly ball there because if i hit it at comerica park. It's going to be two outs. So like i mean. It's like he's really happy that he was able to do there. And stack asked definitely back him up because that ball would have been an out in twenty seven of the thirty. Mlb ballparks commerical bark. As one of the exceptions the four hundred foot drive just cleared the fence and landed in the underbelly of the rogers centre with the tigers. Bullpen catcher. tim rims quickly retrieved it. It was cabrera's first home. Run in toronto since september ninth in two thousand seventeen. And oh my gosh. He is so so awesome. And we're gonna and we're gonna talk about his actual is actual career now Like just over not not just focusing on that home run. But now we're going to talk about his entire career. And miguel cabrera was born in maccarone aghuar state and venezuela to the choose parents. Miguel in georgina cabrera. "How's it going brian. Great dan. it's always a pleasure to talk about cardinals baseball well last week. You were down in jupiter. And i wanna get into that in just a moment but i want to get your impressions of the milwaukee brewers after watching the game last night and seeing burns then box burger then going to devon williams. Then go into josh later. Seen a revamped lineup that i wouldn't even put Let's say Yelich your kane. Who i normally would say. Oh they had those two guys. I on my list. Not that they're not good. They're very good but man they've added to their lineup. I can see why If you follow the milwaukee brewers. You're pretty high on this team. That's a very good team. you know. i hate to throw his words back in his face. But john was as often talks about being opportunistic. And if you look at what. The brewers have done and putting together their team. That's exactly what they've done. They had a good young pitching staff already with burns and woodruff and peralta guys who've stepped forward to another level this year and then of course the bullpen guys. You you hit it on but they also went out and got some position player piece pieces that they needed not just in the off season when they picked up colt along on the rebound a tremendous edition and a big blow for the cardinals to have lost. But also then you know a couple of players Other players in in there Infield and outfield of sale garcia and and Will the dhamma. So you know. The brewers have really done a nice job of putting together a team. That seems to have meshed very well. And you know they're playing baseball. That is befitting for a team that as a a runaway lead in the division right now and of course. Brian walton is Very attuned to what's happening in the minor leagues you to spend some time down in palm beach show watching palm beach play A lot of young players and obviously where the cardinals train for spring training so a number one. I hope it wasn't too hot for you brian. I always worry about you there. But i digress Let's talk about the baseball. And what she saw and who you're able to visit with. What was the experience like for you. Yeah for me. The timing of the visit was to coincide when palm beach was home so that i could also see the florida complex league cardinals during the day. And that's the what used to be the gulf coast league and the cardinals played things differently this year with their draft class. They brought all the players in. There's twenty four players between the the players who were drafted in the non drafted free agents. That were signed. They brought them all into jupiter and they assess their of physical status after playing wherever they played in spring. Whether it'd be high school or college and the position players were the first to go out. And all of those with the exception of joshua by the second rounder All went to palm beach and in palm beach. It's this weird season. Where the beginning of the year they had the backlog of guys who were drafted last year. The jordan walkers and mason winds who were getting their first professional action They had a guy from twenty nineteen. Who was getting his for section. Tommy g outfielder who had been hurt the previous year so they had a lot of guys that were getting their feet on the ground but did well and and moved on. there's half a dozen hitters. Todd lot caprine eac others who who move forward from palm beach and you sort of had this big hole in their offense and they were filled then by players who were drafted this year In twenty twenty..

"In fact it is the a violation of state law and two of our jurisdictions at least to -scriminate in any Under any circumstances and hiring but we do have an experience limit of three years that i was mentioning before and it probably got a bit off on it. Is we define three years in a in a certain manner like i said the ten games for the starter. Twenty-five combo forty five and a year and we ended up. And if you have years or less experience you can play in our league so we tend to be younger. Although i have noted that there are players in the gulf coast league for instance that Maybe played eighteen games Quit you strange to me. Because the players we got in the pioneer league over the years as young players you know young latins that The toronto blue. Dave brought into medicine hat and so forth you know would play a full season in the playing eighteen games. Maybe they worked out and i understand. There's a role for the complex that was unaware of that and how many players might have greer's in the lower minors. An played forty five games. Year twenty five games as a pitcher and so they may more years actual experience but not more game experience. That's where i what is your actual game experience. So three years is our cut off as we defined it. Would you pull from the adult wood bat. Leagues like the spokane hawks that you mentioned earlier there still around at the adult wood bat league. Yeah the the skyhawks and hawks. Now i don't know that they are. I knew Know coy started on and so forth. Good friend but Yeah we we only scout but each day i have a number of players who are Letting me know they're available to play in our league. And i pass those onto the managers and general managers And so we're signing players of one sort of another course after the draft the mlb draft their number. Here's who are drafted and we just try out. Can't make you wanna talk about the tryout camp that we just finished in ogden. Yeah we so we conducted a tryout camp Right after the major league draft took place at which again is now twenty rounds and so think about across the span of history. How many great players were drafted below the twentieth round and was the first guy that comes exactly. Everybody will name mike. Beyonce's the number one and so we believe that That's an incredible pool of talent That got untapped And so we created a camp right after the draft and it was a tremendous success. We had out of the hundred players or so that were at the camp sixteen were signed professional contracts. So it was. It was an extraordinary success. And as i was saying earlier. We're looking at Tryout camps During the opposite he's in a winter leagues a whole range of Of opportunities for young players. To get noticed i i would say you know some of the wood bat leagues that you know that are some of the collegiate wood bat league certainly have a lot of talent that that should be scouted and there's the draft leagues there. There's gonna be a lot of talent out there I would only hope that we saw that. We would see at all that talent. That's out there are a lot more pictures because pitching. Is this year more than ever i..

"Really open is an instructional league. I'm sure the cubs got wind of that. He's been great this year. Misses first full season pro ball. He rocketed double a he had time to. Trade was like a ninety six to nine or ninety one to nine strikeout-to-walk ratio. he's throwing the mid nineties. Harder slider obviously strikes and and he might be the guys. Quiet outside of greg dyke men who they got chafing traded to just got called up. But but but you know. I think get more upside than and he might be the next guy up lesson forgetting somebody because they acquired somebody guys take you might be the closest to the big leagues of everybody else. Acquired sticking with a little bit of those lower level guys down the complex projectable bodies. Something that i've heard a lot in relation to a lot of these cubs prospects reginald prosciutto casey's probably a little more advanced body wise. What kevin qatar who they acquired in the resort traded his six foot six and could probably add twenty pounds. Would notice a lot of these guys. Christner nana's as well. There's been some video kicking around him. Finally that we haven't really seen on the public side. A lot of these guys are toll and have the ability to add weight. And i'm wondering how that changes the evaluation of a prospect guys end and how hard that is to project a guy. Yeah i mean. I think it's mean scouts are more experienced doing that. We are you factor that in. I mean you kind of project with the guys get you guys get bigger. They sometimes loosen speed to see. You have to factor that in. But yeah i mean most of your your your high upside young guys are going to have projectable bodies because if they were you know physically maxed out at nineteen. That's probably not a good thing but like qatar is a guy to you. We haven't talked about yet. He was so young. I'm thinking back. The cove throws off my ass. I think he was signed in wanna say eighteen and he was super young in eighteen. Classy to wait. I think a couple of weeks after july two when the pure assigned pre-open to sign zini turns sixteen till mid july. So he was. I think the youngest player who played in the us league in two thousand nine hundred and he was in what was the gulf coast. League is now floor complex league. He was sixteen when the season started. And he's still you know so he was three years ago i think he's just barely nineteen years old and he opened the season at eighteen. Did he hasn't played above the complex level yet and he's got to be cost tools cross aboard be. I mean he's exciting appreciative. Who's off to a great start in an seems weird saying acl but in the acl. Switch hitter you're gonna grow into some power. I think with him. You wonder and i think most people project him at third base. Although it's easy to say that about big young shortstops they're gonna to the position but if he puts on twenty or thirty pounds strength price will bid and be more of a third baseman..

"The way. And in fact, the three day major league baseball draft begins Sunday night in Denver. The Reds have a major league best three picks in the 1st 35 selections of the draft. They picked 17th 30th and 35th. Our first guest Tonight was 1/9 round pick of the Reds in the 1982 draft. That draft included. I Looked it up today. Dwight Gooden, David Wells, Jimmy Key, among others. Our first guest went on to 134 games was an All Star pitched a perfect game, won a ring and wind up in the Reds Hall of Fame, and he will be representing on hand the Cincinnati Reds for the draft on Sunday. Always a pleasure to welcome in Tom Browning. How are you? Very good laugh. Thank you. Great to hear your voice. So what do you are you the guy who hands in the card? Are you the guy who gets to announce the pick? I get to announce the pick. Uh, I talked to Paul Pearson today. And, uh, I told him I said, Well, I've been looking at some players myself, So I think I got it. You know, I was just just to mess with him. There's no way I'd ever ever do that. But I thought man, wouldn't that be funny, But probably not. Yeah, Probably great, though. Just spring it on him. Like who? What? Where he comes from. Take me back to 1982 and draft day for you. What was it like? And what did it mean to be drafted by the Reds? Well, it was all awesome to be drafted by the red. I was a Reds fan as a kid growing up in Wyoming and you know for them to. Actually, I got invited to what they call a predraft tryout camp. Was down at Tennessee Wesleyan playing my senior year. Uh and I had long hair moustache. You know, I was as far from the Cincinnati Red as you can probably get Back then, but they asked me to come to the pre draft trial camp. Uh, so my wife actually was my girlfriend at the time we drove up before the draft, and, uh Worked out, um to pretty good. I didn't run very well, but I didn't really care about running and stuff. But I mean, I think I impressed them enough where they took me in the ninth round. Um, It was a second day. You know, the second day of the draft when they called, and a guy named Chuck Montgomery was the guy that, uh Part of me, actually was probably keep Patterson from the university, Kentucky. They brought. They brought their team down to play a game before they were going to play Tennessee on the weekend series. And I'm sure put a lot of freshmen and stuff. And then I punched out like 15. So, uh, he he contacted the reds and make it they come to. They came to see me pitch against David list. Um, I think in the tournament or something, and I got beat one or nothing. But they asked me to come to the trial camp and, uh Guys showed up clean shaven. We wanna wild hair. I'm above my next. So, uh, just as you know, to be able to try out with the Reds get invited. Their trial was pretty awesome. So, uh, but they they call the next the second day and Actually kept Montgomery was the guy that put my name in, I guess, but the guy that signed me was a guy named George Zura. He was a Florida stout and I had worked my way down to Florida after the season was over for my senior year, so They called me so they select me in the ninth round. They were going to offer me $3500. And, uh, I said, What kind of like give five. He said. We'll call you right back. And he said 3500 take or leave it. I said I'll take it, man. All right, man. I was so excited to be drafted by them. And you know the fact that, uh The money right there. It didn't matter to me. I just wanted my foot in that door because that's a hard door to get into. And I want all I care about getting my foot in that door. Let me take it from there, and, uh, they sent me to buildings. They gave me the option of staying in the Gulf Coast League, which I didn't know it was the Gulf Coast League at the time. They said they could stay here. I could go to Billings, Montana. And my family. My mom and my step. Dad and my two sisters were living there. So I said, I'll go to Belize, Uh, end up going to buildings and, uh, That's what how it all started. The the All Star Game is Tuesday night. Next week. You were you were on the 91 All Star team in Toronto. You didn't pitch if I remember what was that overall experience like of being an All Star? Awesome, uh, was really cool. I mean, I got to see guys like Getty Murray, who is probably one of my favorite players ever played against, And I only say that because I got to know him there. But to some of the other guys that were on the team and stuff, um You know that we're perennials. I guess I might want it only and I had pitched on Sunday. So I was the backup guy. If we went to extra innings, I was the guy. Um And Lee Smith and I were the only two down in the bullpen. In fact, I think someone stole the Smiths 12, but we we didn't get a pitch and then they didn't really tarnished anything for me. Uh, was just cool to be a part of it to see it. I think Cal Ripken won the home run Derby. Because it wasn't nearly as what it is now. Yeah. None of the jazz, but I mean, it was just I don't care what the all Star game. I got A nice portrait. You know, they give you and you know all the All Star ring and you know it was everything I thought it was, and it was a blast. Tom Browning checking in tonight. He's going to represent the Reds at the major league drafted starts on Sunday. The Reds have three picks draft on day. One draft begins at seven o'clock. On Sunday night. Wade Miley goes for the Reds tonight. I'd imagine he's your kind of pitcher. A lefty who works quickly. Yeah, I liked everything about him..

Dwight Gooden Paul Pearson Tom Browning David Wells Lee Smith Chuck Montgomery Jimmy Key Wyoming George Zura Denver 134 games Next week Wade Miley Tuesday night 35th Toronto $3500 Sunday night Sunday Getty Murray

Rodman was promoted to class a damara data marva show birds of the south atlantic league and over thirty seven games between the three clubs. He hit two fifty four three fifty one. On base percentage and a four twenty three slugging percentage with four home runs and twenty six. Rbi's and at the start of the twenty twenty one season richmond was assigned to the aa a bowie baysox. So we also have a little bit more on him. Right here So he's twenty three. He's a switch hitting catcher at six foot two. He is expected to make it to the big leagues sometime later. This year and sometimes a player enters his draft year as the front runner to be the number one overall pick and doesn't live up to expectations but then there are players like rushland and like wonder franko. I obviously wanted franko wasn't drafted number one. But he is still a total beast but there are players that people have really high expectations for and fall very short of those expectations but players. Like the like rush. Men are definitely not those richmond won the golden spikes and dick howard award as best player in college baseball as junior in two thousand nineteen a year after winning or helping oregon state win the college world series. He was obviously the clear choice to go number one overall and then received a point one million dollars signing bonus which we just talked about a few times rush mond was the best prospect in the orioles alternate training site. Twenty twenty and during his time with the orioles in bowie maryland. Last summer richmond had the chance to sharpen what was already a pretty spider pretty suit full of plus tools. The switch hitter has an incredible advanced approach. Credibly advanced approach walking more than he struck out in college. He can drive in runs from drive the ball from both sides of plate with a ton of over the fence. Pop will never selling out for power or and showing the ability to make rapid adjustments against a higher level of competition. Last summer is already plus defensive. Abilities also got better in his first year of pro ball as he acclaimed a well working with acclimated very well working with high level pitching talent. He knows how to call games. He works very well with pitchers he soft hands. Excellent agility behind the dish. He couples that with very strong arm which should be which should be some help to control the running game and it is already exhibiting kind of literacy leadership teams covet from the big the big league backstop something that he should be in the very very near future so his scouting grade from twenty to eighty his scouting grade was a sixty for hitting a sixty five for power a sixty arm a sixty five fielding thirty running but a overall sixty five like as a prospect and that's really really good because at similar to what major league baseball or like the mlb. The show does it's your your prospects are never going to be these you know. Just beast eighty overalls. "What's going on guys. Welcome back to this segment of the gmc baseball podcast. And in this segment. We're gonna be talking about wonder franco because as you guys already know. He has made his major league debut and has absolutely bald out. I'm sure in the process. And in fact i bet he even hits a home run light tonight at some point like Like i'm obviously recording this day the afternoon before he plays but he is making his debut for the tampa bay rays today he supposed to be the best prospect that we've seen in a while which is really impressive considering some of the great players that we've seen come up as of late like junior boba shed Like fernando tatis like this can go on so we'll be talking about here is Really like a time. Line of wanders notable moments and. this is Helps l. but this segment comes from Sam decec- of mlb dot com. He has wrote. He wrote an article for and it'll be pipeline so if he has check checking out of him some love. I'm sure he would love it but what we know about wonder franko is that this is huge news. The rays infielder is it'll be pipelines top overall prospect making the number one talent to debut at the game's top level since vladimir guerrero junior on april sixteenth twenty nineteen and that is definitely right since because of the lack of a twenty twenty minor league season to the coronavirus pandemic and wander franco's own young age and relative lack of experience being that it's been more than two years since we've seen a number one overall pick reach the majors for the first time and this is a event worthy of celebration wonder. Franko has definitely risen to this level of strength of his eighty grade. Hit tool only the second. Such great ha- has ever been given out by moby pipeline in the ten years that they've been doing this and a potential to show plus power as a switch hitter to better understand how he rose to like this level of hype and mike. How he's supposed to be like this next big thing in baseball. We really need to re like revisit. Like what has all gone into his His celebration so far. What has what shows to be a promising a promising career so he was signed in as one of rego's ranked as the number two international prospect during the two thousand seventeen and twenty eighteen signing period behind shohei otani and even then still might have been the best known as the nephew of a former major league. Infielder eric in willie bar and those who saw him in in the dominican republic where he's from already highlighted his impressive hitting ability from both sides including his hand eye coordination and very exciting bradsby. The race signed a sixteen year old for three million eight hundred and twenty five dollars on july. Second twenty seventeen and haven't looked back since this dude was signed at the age of sixteen in twenty seventeen and is making his major league debut four years later at the age of twenty. Like this is crazy. Like so i'm sure that everybody who is a fan of sports. It happens to everybody eventually. Inevitable where players are coming up in our actually your age and then all of the sudden. They're younger than you. And for like the last few years. I've been seeing guys that have been my age like fernando tatis and lake a ronaldo cuny junior and like you guys that i'm like wow and before that it was guys like bryce harper and mike trout. Who when i was really getting into baseball and things like that like in middle school and high school. Those were the best guys to watch. And now it's guys like wonder franko. Who's the first guy to ever be in the league. That's younger than me. Like that is crazy to me. That he's the first player ever to be younger than me. And i was born in the year. Two thousand like. That's crazy that it's already. They're already players. Now that are in the league. That are younger than me. And i just can't. It's hard to wrap my mind around. At how fast to all of this has got to happen. Like wow now. I'm part of the like like old guard so to speak. I don't know it's just kind of like a weird thought that i that i had in that. My dad has always told me about like coming into like up. He's like man you're gonna really feel old. Wants players. Start to get older than you. And i was like man. Whatever you're full of it but it really does feel like that now. That franco is actually in the bigs. Which is crazy. And so the opening assignment form though and it's aggressive enough to send international prospects stateside for his first minor league season. And it's another thing to have him skip complex entirely in place him in a league with actual stadiums and that's exactly what the race did though. They sent him to rookie advanced princeton in june of eighteen. Twenty eighteen rather than sending him to the dominican. Summer or gulf or gulf. Coast leagues for ak- was only seventeen years. old Was the only two year old to get enough to qualify for the appellation league batting title that season and eventually finished fourth in that race with a fifty one average over sixty one games it appeared that tampa bay new. Just how much support. Like how much to push this guy and like the gosh like i think about how awesome it must be like how good you have to feel about yourself. Being a a seventeen year old playing in in the states. You're in a brand new country playing minor league baseball. You skip skip short able and you are automatically into like rookie ball like low a ball and like the only place to go and you qualify for the batting title or you almost qualified for to get the batteries out of that. You're an amazing job for seventy two year old. There's there's other. There's a reason that we've only been hearing good things about this kid for the last since two thousand seventeen honestly an his first long. Long-haul came on june twenty six in. That's in his second game. The princeton doubleheader against bluefield but despite the aggressive assignment he started out on it. Okay footing for going six for twenty four which is a to fifty average but only had three strikeouts for six happy gain epi league games but an extra base hit eluded him to that point and that ended quickly when he went to deep right center field in his first at bat of the seventh game of the season. And then dinger's came off fellow. Teenage phenom eric pardee ho who ranking the number six international talent in the same window as franco. The only home run of the game in that princeton's wanted nothing victory on the road. Then he went on to have a twenty five game hitting streak and that homer in that second context are in the second game on june twenty. Sixth was franco's only knock of that particular game but extended his hitting streak to a modest three games at that time and that would eventually go all the way to twenty five games before it ended on july twenty fifth meeting.

We also had two hurricanes those years which a but huge revenue boost fressen and then Last year two point two million without a hurricane in an hour on Unfortunately the her into the gulf coast league deployed assets are franchisees up there to Being self so on for another banner year. So i can. I can disclose those. Because that's what's in our franchise disclosure document in. After this year. When i first franchisee becomes one year old what we can do is disclosed financials for them. You're not allowed to make false revenue projections promises as part of the federal disclosure laws. But it gives you get exempt a good idea. I mean the revenue potential is definitely there. i mean there's natural disasters going on all over that you don't have to live on the gulf coast or the or the east coast of florida to be with issues. The interesting thing is most of our revenue. Most of our business is dishwashers. Ice makers hot water heaters finishing units roof leaks. Rake at a relatively predictable rate. Everyday the phone rings you just don't know what is going to be that day and then on top of that when you get a hurricane and literally and figuratively becomes a rainmaker and when you're prepared to respond in all our franchisees and we are because of that's hauer wire operated for contingency plans right take advantage of that and really out. What looking veterans coming out of the military coming in you. Possible vet core franchisees. What kind of things are you looking for. The veterans typically have or don't have as far as the potential to go into doing their own vet core franchise franchisee operator. Yes so couple of things mean. Most veteran advocates talk about their values and work ethic the team players. I agree with all that. I don't talk about it. Because i don't think anybody hires based on those values i think they'll fire you based on the lack of those values so i talk about things like their lifelong learners. They're used to moving changing jobs and changing physical locations every three to four years. So they're constantly doing after extra use recipes for success. What happened why it happened. How we can improve. They come with things like military decision making process tripling procedures. They know that there are five components mission statement. Who what where when why so they. How all these processes. They're really good in really apply to business. They don't just they just don't necessarily know how to apply them the things that they don't go in there and frankly there my lessons learned in this business. "Very brief start in the Gulf Coast League but then quick quickly moved up to Johnson city and found the pitching there to be a little tough But again extremely counted young player can really do everything well But he's still has a lot to learn. So I think Fletcher it will be more of a challenge for Fletcher to make the jump to the Midwest League but it depends on on how he shows camp one of the players. I'm really curious to watch is delvin Perez. Who is the top pick from a few years ago the shortstop where is he at right now in the cardinal system? And what do you expect this year? Dumb press play all last year at Peoria. Of course he's a former first round draft pick has moved rather slowly in the system basically one level per year in prisons. Another guy who will be real five eligible this fall. The logical progression for Delvin will be to go to Palm Beach this year. Which is a tough place to hit. But you know. Plus has a tool defensively. There's no question as long as he's focused. You know he's a. He's a very good very very good defensive player. His problem is that he hasn't been inclined to take a walk in. He hasn't been inclined to use his speed. Hit Balls in the gaps. He's been more of a singles hitter. Who doesn't draw a line of walks and so that offense profile is one that unless he picks it up he's GonNa have a hard time making it to the major leagues before he runs out of tot interesting stuff. Their pitchers that were taken in last year's draft. That now we finally get a chance to watch in camp here and then this season. That's right Thompson has gotten a lot of the attention and he still wouldn't majorly camp but there's another group of guys who were taken who may profile some of May profiles relievers but they began to Europe primarily at State College. And I'm talking about Tony. Mosey Andre Pilots. Tony Locie from Georgia. Hundred Plenty In Jack Roulston from UCLA. Those guys all were on a limited workload last year because they pitched a full college season and the cardinals try very carefully not to overwork. These guys so one of the things. I'll be watching campus. Which if these guys We'll be working as starters which will be working relievers guys who may be more inclined to be relievers like a Tony. Locie who did finish Peoria could move up pretty quickly and it won't be this year but they could be for example those he could be a guy. Like Cody Whitley next year. Who folks say. Hey you know. He came out and all of a sudden now. He's you know on the cusp of the major leagues because the cardinals did make it. What appears to be a very concerted effort in the twenty nineteen draft to replenish the pitching in the system. And of course. The fastest way to replenish pitching is to get college pitchers rather than high school pitchers require a longer development at are higher. I hope you know about this. Chinooks rewards him. The coaches are here. And when did the Game Start and then how? How long are they here for their spring? Kim Well the the game start is I said on Thursday. The nineteenth I Games they play to game two days basically against each other and the interesting thing about that is that even though it shows that Memphis would play Springfield for example. The way they do. It is at Memphis pitcher space memphis hitters in Springfield pitcher space greenfield. Here's ideas that have as high of a level of an appropriate level of competition so Thursday Friday basically play each other and then next Saturday. The twenty first is the first time that they play against external competition. And that'll be the Miami Marlins who of course are just on the other side of camp and sometimes not always sometimes against the marlins the cardinals actually in Marlins actually play five games because there are so many players you know do. The math is one hundred fifty seven players in camp. And there'll be more by them down from Saint Louis So yeah. Sometimes they actually play five games where they take the Peoria team and split up into two different roster so the bottom line is no matter. What they you come to the backfield's In Jupiter they're going to be one o'clock aims assuming the weather cooperates course and regular season for the Minor Leagues Begins Win Regular Season for the minor. Leagues doesn't Begin. Until Thursday April ninth and part of the reason that they do that. Is that You know for example take the Midwest League where puree as you know. Some of those games are being played in the upper midwest at a time when the weather's not good and it's always a challenge for them to get a full slate of games in the Midwest League as it is so as tempting as it might be to try to move the start of the minor league season up to more Dovetail with the major leagues. They really just can't do it in finally Brian. What are you working on the car? Donation DOT COM. Well one of the things I enjoy because you know I'm a detail or guy. Every year when I get the list of players who are invited to camp the first thing I do is go through it and decide okay. Who's here but also who's not here in why so this morning we have a story about three of the young catchers including six hundred from a couple of years ago who have decided to retire rather than report to camp also have an article about a another free agent pitcher. The cardinals have added Pitching was a problem across the system last year and of the ten players that they brought in from the outside to augment the Minor League system this year nine of them are pitchers so you can see the organization. Addition to the focus on the craft in free agency has really focused on augmenting. The pitching side. Of course once the rosters are shown. The spring training invitees are are listed. Then we'll get into analysis of how many a prospects which ones arising and kind of digging into the details behind the numbers. Thank you sir. Always find to do it on Wednesdays. I advise everybody. The CARDINAL NATION DOT com to find out about the cardinal minor league system. Brian will catch up next Wednesday. Thank you thank you. "Dan Great to be back talking about Carl's ninety leak. It is good to be back talking about that. Let's jump right into what's happening now. There are players. Here's down on the fields. In Jupiter with instructional camp would use to be held right after the season but they felt and I think it's a smart move guys are worn out. They they were tired probably wanted to go home. Maybe some homesick and They said look. Let's scrap that. Maybe we get better attention to detail. Maybe we get better teaching if if we hold this right before spring training. And that's what they're doing right now aren't they. That's right. This is the third year of the cardinals. Instructional camp having been moved from September to January. Two weeks Going on now. The first couple of weeks of the year the four weeks of the year with thirty seven players down in Jupiter. I will mention though to a point. You made another another reason why they wanted to change. This was that a number of the players are still working on their college education. And by having instructional camp in September that precludes them from from being able to take classes in the fall term so by having this camp in January. You know those young men who still finishing their college education can get a fall term in and that's the primary reason reason it's another factor because we have to remember the cardinals draft a number of high school players. A number of these players signed after their junior year of college and they still may need another twenty twenty five hours of classes to before they get their important degree which is going to help them of course and the rest of their lives after their playing days are done. Yeah absolutely a lot of people I think are curious about what what instructional camp. What is that? WHO's on the field? Is Mike Scheldt there. Well let's go through that. What is instructional camp for those? That don't know well. It's basically hands on a much more hands on basis of Education and training for a group of players. They typically have classroom INFO classroom information and studying in the morning and then in the afternoon they get out on the field for For individual instructions with the roving instruction works for the system some of the managers some of the coaches and as you mentioned and they're focusing primarily at fundamentals. There aren't any games. The pictures of course are still just ramping up. So there's mostly pitcher's throwing bullpens more often than not it's coaches throwing batting practice Rather than pitchers But the idea is to give these young players Some focus on fundamentals. And let's start and to the point you made before The major league coaches are going to be in Jupiter next week. And they're GONNA be doing they're planning for Major Angelique Spring training camp and so that gives my show and and all you know all the coaches a chance to move over to the backfield's in the afternoon and then get a look at some of these young players so you know last year saw really all the major league coaches Around at different times during instructional camp you know getting a sneak peek at the at these thirty seven when young players brought floor. Yeah I find it really interesting with the guys that are down there. And it's not like every single minor leaguers down there. How do you get selected for the Instructional Cam? Well of course the cars don't say you know what their formulas but I do a lot of analysis of course of the backgrounds of the players and typically they're either players who are emerging urging or maybe some players who might have had injuries last year that they want to you know get them A moving a little ahead. It's not just the players on short season club so I stayed college Johnson City while there's a few of those actually you know the sweet spot of the the group of players are more like the class a high class. I say Along with the number players with Springfield and even some would memphis experience so really. It's kind of a kind of a mixed bag but the names are players that you recognize from Name brand guys like Gorman Malcolm Nunez down to some some lesser names including one young man Picture named Angel Klinka probably on health. Linka who I've not seen it because he pitched in the Dominican Summer League last summer. So we're talking about a young man who's been brought over to the United States. You know for his first I action in the US in this You know highly competitive but highly exclusive instructional camp so I can't just a wide variety of experiences of the players there. I'm also curious because year after year. Now the major league players are getting down there And many of them are already there right now in some of them have bought homes homes down there so they can get there and train well before spring training gets there. I'm curious how many of those guys make their way onto the field. Either to make a speech or go one one on one with a young prospect and talk to a kid and try to encourage them and tell them hey this is what it takes to make it to the big leagues. Well well I can tell you the last year I saw out here Molina there. Of course he has a winter home in the area so miles. Michael is there As well as a number of the you know the former former players who were involved in coaching roles players like Braden looper and Ryan Ludwig. So they're definitely yeah a number of Of players in former coaches around who can provide advice and counsel to these to these young players in structural care yesterday. The cardinals did make a little bit of news. They signed Oscar Hernandez he is a catcher. Does have big league experience number one. What do you think that means for Andrew Kisner and Matt leaders number two and and we'll get it well? Let's answer that. What do you think it means for those two guys? I don't really think it means a lot I think the cardinals wanting leaders back But like last year apparently his market is slow to develop. And so. I think everybody's waiting to see what's GonNa Happen. And if he falls back in the car's lap I'm sure they'd be delighted to have him back but it's going to be you know again on a one year deal at some reasonable reasonable money your Matt leaders former all star. You know. It was definitely did a good job for the cardinals left handed bat last year. You know he's probably looking to a place where maybe he can get a little more playing time than being behind you out of here. Molina which you know as everyone knows plays every day that he possibly possibly can so this doesn't preclude leaders return the signing of Oscar Hernandez really what it does is. It gives the cardinals another veteran guy on a minor league deal. Not Unlike Joe Hudson you know folks may have remembered last year was around and the cardinals always you know have these journeymen catchers Opinion was the guy before that you know who who are around and they can put in triple a. provided more experience if needed now the real question which none of us know the answer to. Is You know where the cardinals feel. Andrew Kisner defenses. This do they feel these defense is good enough that they can afford to have him basically sit out in the bullpen and warm up pitchers and Saint Louis or do they want him to continue to play every day A. and Memphis and it sort of looks like maybe the play every day in Memphis might be the preferred approach certainly if they bring leaders back That would be the approach Roach and now with the case of ours Hernandez they you know. They have an opportunity to go that way. If they so choose now never point to note Oscar Hernandez was on a minor league contract. So if they were to to you know have him on the team he would you know have to be added to the forty man roster but there's always ways to to move that around so that won't be a big factor actor. I think the big question will be. You know. We'll we'll we'll leaders come back and you know where to the cardinals really feel Andrew because there's Catching is and whether they I think you know. Another year in Memphis will be the best answer for his develop. Yeah you took me right to the second part of that question I was going to ask you Before which is where do you think his nerves is defensively is he a major league. Catcher is a major league. Backup catcher. Defensively is he a twenty six man roster guy where do you think he is with all those those options questions surrounding going into spring. I don't think anybody least. Nobody I've talked to has said they believe Andrew Kisner the finished product meaning that that he couldn't continue to grow and to get better so the question of the twenty six is an interesting one because with that extra spot on the roster you know if if leaders came back for example what they could easily do is have Kisner as the third catcher. Therefore you use leaders as a left handed pinch hitter and and he's still have kids that are in reserve if me was hurt late in the game or something so you know. They're still might be flexibility. Even you know to have three catchers on the roster and again I just to go back original point I think Oscar Hernandez is nothing more than a low price insurance policy at this point. You know. They'll probably keep him around. But you know there's not it's not outside the impossibility that if everybody's healthy. Everybody thinks things are going. Well they they you know they might even let him go not indicate. If there's there's nothing really at risk here by bringing another guy in their saloon wound for men you'll receive the perfect haircut complimentary beverage relaxing shampoo. I don't care if you're talking about College Football Basketball Baseball Major League baseball all the NBA. Whatever it's consistency consistency with your coaching staff consistency with your front office and ownership cardinals have that and they have consistency right now with their minor league managers? They made the announcement a couple of days ago. Seven of the nine minor league managers will return in twenty twenty. That's again and again you know it makes sense given an instructional camp is open You know a number of these coaches are down in coaches and managers are down and Jupiter working so they you know pretty well got their systems lined up a couple of TVD's but you know all the managers is you set are in place and most of them are coming back One of the changes inches is at golf city. Scarring at the Gulf Coast League where Joey Hawkins who was a former minor league. INFIELDER came back with a coach hitting coach last year. Now now he's GonNa be a new manager there but the names that everybody knows you know from the top Ben Johnson Memphis joke rusel Springfield Damigella Palm Beach Erica. Monte Jose Roberto Espinosa Spinoza who led Johnson city to a title last year. So all those guys are back. And that's great on the pitching side a lot of stability as well pitching coach side One new person listen to join the organization. This state colleges new pitching coach Dean Kika for who folks may remember was a left handed reliever for the cardinals left a few years ago. You know. Continue to bounce around get a little bit of major major league action here and there but do you think they're seeing a number of organizations now and he's decided it isn't extent is coaching and so he's the new pitching coach at State College now on the hitting coach side just as we talked about stability in management in the hitting coach side pretty much. Everybody's changed chairs. But again I think the top five or six hitting coach's while they're all in new assignments were in the organization previously but then at the lower levels there are four or five new hitting coaches who've been brought in and I think what we're seeing here is sort of you know year two of the of the new kidding regime that the cardinals have a new Minor League hitting coordinator and Rothstein.

"What's going on? Not much you guys are beat. There's just about thank you. So before it gets the pitching. I don't get it. Inky fans like John Carlos Stanton. People people that have ever hit more home runs. If he's like, why don't you? I don't get it. He's powers of free. But you know what it is? I think it's twofold, I get it. But I don't agree with it. I know I know it might be a little bit might be unfair to it too. But the two reasons our number one, he didn't come up through the system and Yuki fans. And I understand this view superstar who come here and get paid to come here, a little bit differently in the first couple of years until they show that they belong as a Yankee, and I think they feel like right now after despite hitting thirty eight and driving in one hundred last year. They still don't feel like he's proven himself yet. And it is, you know, we heard after the fact about him playing hurtling season. I think that's what it is. The pitching, the only person I think he's actually getting Gardner too expensive. I Washington wants to trade him Strom is just not that good. And Bowers up, what do you call it off? Bomb waiting happen, if he goes to New York. So I think Bumgarner is the only one but if on the giants gonna get a don't want Fraser 'cause he can't play outfield. And we have one of the biggest outfielder in baseball and like, what else? What a loaded pharmacist it's funny that you say that because any Martinez had this story yesterday and it's a hundred percent true. Evan's got it. And that is the Yankees are not in any kind of a hurry and probably will not give up. Clint Frazier in a deal for a one year rental guy, and that's Madison valuable. Yeah, I mean, I understand that Clint Frazier has shortcomings defense is obviously one of them. We can debate whether we thought the stuff with the media not talking to the media after three era game against the Red Sox was overblown or not overblown that's up to interpretation a little bit more. But he does have shortcomings. I don't understand why anyone doesn't think that he'll get over them. He doesn't seem to me to be that pompous of a guy where he says, oh, I'm a finished product here. I don't need to at work on my game anymore. I don't think that's true. He's shown any kind of inclination that way that he doesn't wanna be calling player. You're right. I think he wants to become a great player. I think he says, all those right. Things the problem is, you know, he takes all seventy two hours to report description or close to it. And as Brian Cashman, that's his collectively bargained, right? It is. I understand that. But it also sends a message of I'm going to sit here and power for two and a half days. I hate to jump to the conclusion, though. That that's what it is. You know, we don't know what aren't listen. Down there, then. But I haven't heard that and he certainly didn't indicate that, that was the case yesterday when he was talking to reporters in Scranton. So after he doubled down last week, color skeptical. I guess I would say all you could spend that way you want. You could also spend at maturity where he here be out where he says, you know what I need a day to cool off because I actually am that upset if I if I go there right now and you put me in front of reporters, I might actually say something, I'm going to regret, so I'm going to take twenty four hours to breathe in breathe out realized my life and career not over. And then maybe I'll be better off. And I won't do something to torpedo myself apparently needed three days to three twenty four seventeen eighty it's the construction right now. So how Steinbrenner was talking at the owners meetings, then he was asked about Clint Frazier, and this is what he had to say. Quote, look, he didn't come up through the system. These are some of the issues you're talking about we work on from day, one when these kids are sixteen years old in the Gulf Coast league, maybe more so than other organizations because other organizations, don't play in New York City. Yeah. I mean look, I just needs a little more seasoning in the organization. Maybe I don't think he's gonna get that chance. I don't think he's going to either. He has the right attitude about going down there and working hard and doing all the same things that he's supposed to do, but I wouldn't expect him to say, otherwise, but he said he's still ticked off about it might be ticked off that the worst thing in the world to be ticked off. You're going down there, just don't pout. There's a difference Joanna. Bronx. Joe what's going on? Hey guys has everybody good. I think as far as yunky fans abrasion plays. I mean we embrace BJ LeMay, you'll like he's one of because he stepped in pots is really delivered. His frankly been a big reason why you are where you are right now the biggest reason in my estimation. And I really and I really can't see him being put on a show diminishing playtime right now. I don't think this guy did this. No, you can't take them out a lot. You know, everybody wanted to get rid of saying, changing, you know, he's, he's now become the play, everybody think a lot of people thought he was going to become looked at the numbers. He's he's he's about to right now. And he's produced it big time to, hey, give them credit because they never wavered off that idea that, that last year was the aberration, not the norm. So I was thinking about that when the car before was saying about, you know, people criticizing Stanton and can't stand it when Yankee fans criticize them, I think this is what it is. I think that you see last year where he put up these big numbers, but they weren't memorable. They work clutch, you know, there was no time when Giancarlo Stanton bailed you out of a game or turned a game or came through in the postseason in a big way. Right. But at the same time season criticize him for that. And we got knows we have on the show. But I also think that moving forward, you can't say, well, we've given up on him or that he shouldn't play over another guy. Why you, you can't do that. He's got too much talent. But I'll say that. And I've been someone who's criticized him for not coming through. You can't give up on that. Or you can't say I'm gonna play someone else, you're not gonna play Cameron maybe over him, and I good as maybe as been for as much as maybe filled a huge hole for the Yankees when they needed it barely and bay ridge. Billy what's going on? All right. Good. How's it going? Good. In my opinion of this series would use in with the AKIs is the biggest series of the season so far in the American League, and we'll see how it works out. And as far as the Yankee pitches concerned. I'll go with Tanaka any day in the postseason. And paxton. When he made his first start if the engine list against met. Fastball is like ninety four miles an hour. They took advantage of them, but his second start is this was up to ninety seven ninety eight to see the Mets touch him again. Listen, I that aside I get you're saying that you're, you're that confident in Paxton, I think at this point, that's premature. He got it's gotta be for more than a month sustained period. Although paxon. So speaking of this series, though, he should be looking for a little revenge. Absolutely. And so should oughta vino and social Britain. This should be a big. Hey, hey, check us out now. And I don't know if the baseball players actually think that way, they're always don't wanna get too high don't wanna get too low. But this is the time to atone for some of the sins that happened when they were swept in Houston. You know. Listen to the guys in the morning every day and this morning, I was flipped on hard ice cube was on it. Yeah. And listen incredible career everything that he has done, and then after he left. I heard something that was really, really troubling and an involved, our producer, Sean born ish. Ice. Cube was coming up to promote the big three and he was riding up in the elevator. With more. Rush. And Sean apparently. Well, why don't you tell us what happened? Exactly your own words. I guess the best way to put it. I heard this term earlier, there was a cheese cutting ceremony. She. Yeah. Yeah. So just paint the picture for us, if you will, of how this unfolded, I left a local joint, where I was getting ice tea earlier this morning, and I felt my stomach start to Gergo a little bit. I had a buffalo chicken burger last night, so you know, had to mix it up. So I knew I was running out of time, shall we say? Time. I mean that quickly looking bodies, working mysterious ways I got fast metabolism, obviously. Right. So all I did was I headed to the elevator. I knew I had to get up here to the tenth floor. But of course, his fate, would have it clear about that ride from the lobby the tenth floor. It is not more than fifteen seconds. Forty five seconds. Not forty five. Did you stop on six no no? We put the express ride. It was Mr. cube and five of his QB's cute. And myself. They all pan the back elevator upfront and suddenly, I felt like somebody punched me in the stomach. And I knew if I took one step the wrong way there was going to be a problem. So why relieve some pressure? Right behind. She was the one directly behind me, and I didn't tend for this to happen. It was a mouse came by scooter accidentally, and unfortunately, there was a noise, he stepped down a duck screaming line drive the left field. How sill your human? How could you not? That's exactly why. No, I mean you. You couldn't wait twenty seconds. Honestly, I wanted to wait twenty seconds. The hope was that way. Twenty you couldn't suppress for. Apparently I'm having control over this thing. Well, then it's time to get to the doctor, I would I would agree, I would agree. So look not only that you come up here, and you are, absolutely gloating over it. Enjoying telling the story some people would be mortified. So you're here this morning for some of it would you would you characterize it as somewhat thirsty. This, this kid's more gassing, thirsty minute. Let's be fair. He wants everyone to know this guys. Cubes hold on. We've all seen stepbrothers, right?.

"Only one hit the bottom of the seventh inning. But it drove into part of a three run inning for Louisville. Now leads the PawSox, ten sixes we go to the eighth and back to the microphone. Here's Josh, thanks very much. That was the biggest of the game. I'm going to say Brian Grady, right there. I know he was thrown out going to second, but that is secondary to what happened STO against the lefty aid Kroll out for his second inning of work and roll throws strike. One. If Ellington gets Grady out there, it's a two run eight and very much alive. One pitch swung granite towards the shortstop out of the reach of job is the second basement Johnson was over on that side of the infield as well because well Louisville over shifts every hitter, but it's still snuck by both of them and Reuss news four for four. What a series he's adding that is how the eighth begins with it. Four run lead for the second time today for the first four hit game of a season. Peru, nick. Kohl sturgeon coming up anyway, if it had been eight to six, if you could have gotten Grady out, this would have been very much more of the conversation that Grady ripped the pitch one. Hop off the right field. Wall stir takes strike that is really how Louisville just maybe this game away. Took advantage of all the walks. Three of the four walk scored last one is outside. Possibilites walked five batters six that the seven and they threw four wild pitches between Tyler thornburg, and Brian Ellington, sturgeon oh for too long. The one on each side hit Kroll really drilled coal up stairs. He drops the bat talking at his arm at now. Doubled over thirty. The assistant athletic trainer to look at them. Well, it's too on nobody out. Maybe hold the phone. This thing is not to bed yet. Only the eighth inning. Sturgeon shoes away, man Smith. Julie makes his way to first base, where snake STO over the second. So here come the pasta, right off the ribcage on the right side for coal sturgeon under the right arm. Even coal team in lasting veteran left he walked and hit a better but got the big out on witty, two strand. It too. So now here's those scar her. At this. Catchers over three takes fastball side ball one. The only runs the possibly have scored today came with two out in the second inning. They scored six. Liga chat deal Garrick grand slam one. Oh inside again on a fastball to it. Oh. Open begins to work year for Louisville. Kroll is normally a one in a guy he only pitched twenty four it exhibit twenty seven appearances prior to today. Trying to get a sick and eating out of him is Jody Davis to pitch swing grounder fell pulled over the third base dugout off the bounce, it stood one. Oscar. Ten to six Louisville has scored six unanswered runs after that six run rally, the pasta cts added the second. Three in the second. Nobody scored the third fourth fifth or sixth. But the three more in the seven by Dr bolt foul deepen out of play down the line by Oscar student to. He a kid Yanks a heart foul. Has he does so often? Scar has struck out and the twice at to the third basement Cologne on a groundout at once on popout. Biggest bad of the game for Petach I would say Mike was oh, scar last time tying run at third one out of the sixth when scarf failed out. It's Louisville as grab back. The throttle hold on the moment. Two of three game series Bettag it won last night. Three two. Do on out of the role of the to hop pop up foul first base side, drifting over towards the seat said that'll get either the dugout tuck, it dugout first baseman long, the catcher Radha role came over there. They weren't getting any help from the patriots in that dugout. Tell you that much. Looked at Janssen witty. They were teammates back in the Gulf Coast league, way back win didn't get much love from his old organization. To, to hold on star Nikola Bello is on deck. Tech attractive battle behinds to, to, again in a foul ball ground to the third base side. You wonder whether or not. But second consent Brian elevated back to the mount in the bottom of the eighth after he faced four batters didn't retire, any of them, three walks and a hit got the out of the base pats that finally sent him back to the dugout. At second surgeon at first pitch live foul down the left field line. Why the chock by five feet right over into the Louisville bullpen. Where Jimmy Herbert the right hander often used reliever for manager Davis is starting to throw. Tesla throwing for a couple of minutes, though, scar is with a long at bed at progress. It remains to, to just walked out for a new back from the first base dugout. Red Sox get underway, just about an hour Fenway gave three of their series with the Texas. Rangers report Selo on the bound to gets. Let's. Troll of very long. Look for the sign. And now he has the one he wants another two to pitch breaking ball, high away. So he went off speed scar spit on the pitch. So it's three two. Be the ninth pitch of the back. Field, a double play depth. They plan to poll three to swung on and pulled but foul rate in front of the bullpen catcher the guard the bullpen guard dove.
