This is pm Tampa Bay with Ryan Gorman on NewsRadio Fella. Our number two a PM Tampa Bay on this Thursday, September 10th. I'm Ryan Gorman with me this evening, Felix Vega and James Berland er on the board Coming up, It's 7 35 will talk to Ursula Paronto reporter for Axios, and we'll find out why. The president talked to Bob Woodward. They have the inside scoop on that and also find out what's going on inside the White House and the Trump campaign. As all of the revelations from Bob Woodward's book come out so again, that's on the way 7 35 and then in the eight o'clock hour, two really interesting segments on the way one will be with a Joe Biden campaign surrogate and the other will be with a trump campaign surrogates specifically senior advisor to the Trump campaign. Mercedes Schlapp, So should be very, very interesting interviews. I will be playing Devil's advocate with both of them as they try to make the case for their candidate, so stick around for that. And of course, if you miss any of it You can find it on the podcast to search for PM Tampa Bay on your hair. Radiolab apple podcast Spotify, where every listen to your podcast. We start here. The wild fires out west. Have you seen the images there? John Dropping? It looks like out of a horror movie. It's the best classifications I saw was in San Francisco. It looks like you're on the surface of Mars. It does. Yeah. Yeah, well, the best comparison I saw was a side by side of you know, the orange sky and all of that. And Seinfeld's. There's an episode where there's a Kenny Rogers roasters, and it's got the big red sign right outside Kramer's apartment, and he opens Jerrys door and the red just like No beams in and jumps back, So I thought that was the best comparison. But it's whole towns are being destroyed. Whole towns wiped out. I talked to one of the best friends from law school who I did not know that he was in California. He lives Just south of San Francisco. So he's right in just outside the fire zone, But he's closer to San Francisco. So he's like, wake up in the morning or you come home at night. And there's like, literally no change in the atmosphere. It's that like that all day long, and they were trying to get away for the weekend and the place that they were going to go to here. They planned this out. Like three months ago. They said, Don't come we? No, no, we're going to even be here by You know Monday, so it's it's it was different hearing it from someone that actually lives out there. You hear on the news, but just to see where they are, and rarely a fairly urban area. And the effect that it's having on them and their kids and, you know, just trying to function in daily life on top of dealing with Corona virus concerns as well. I guess. One benefit. Is there already wearing masks so because you wouldn't be in this kind of environment, you would have to wear a mask. When you go outside. I would think just because of the air quality so really a horrific situation. And look, I know there's a lot of news thes days and the news cycles are crazy and all of that, and we're just not going to spend You know an entire show on what's happening on the West Coast because this is a show for the Tampa Bay area, the state of Florida and we focus on that. But we do touch on national news, and I thought it was important to mention but In the national news landscape. What they're going through out on the West Coast. I mean, that has got to be a top priority on the top story because again, whole towns just wiped out and As far as I've seen, there's no end in sight now because the community is in a low days or weeks. Yeah, the humanity is so low number one number two. They have that cold front, which swept through and kind of like dried everything out, then dumped a whole lot of snow on Denver. Um this week, which was ridiculous, too. But the danger is like the ferocity of the fires has gotten so much worse than in previous years. And they say now that the time between the fire seasons is shortening, so it's not even really A singular fire season like we have hurricane season you now have multiple seasons inside of one year. And the first responders having to deal with all of this. They must be just exhaust exhausting. I put some pictures up on Twitter. If you want to see some of the images, you can follow me it Ryan E. Gorman, including the Daily Mail had this video. It's It's a before and a before and after of a town And you just see I mean, looks like a tornado came through and wipe the whole thing out. Except there was a fire just burned the whole community to the ground. You can again Follow me on Ryan Igor Min to see all of that. Now, one thing that that we're dealing with here in the state of Florida is hurricane season and today, I guess is the height of hurricane season. This is the day where things are supposed to be most active and in perfect 2020 fashion. That is exactly the case. I mean, I don't know how many There's 1234 dot like 56 potential systems out there. Now, Some of them are going to come nowhere near the United States. But there's one coming off the coast of Africa that looks like it's going to develop and we don't know where that's gonna go. I guess there's one Right by the Bahamas that might develop that might bring some weekend written like I don't think any of the ones that are in our immediate vicinity. There's one out in the gulf that could form but that will likely go to Mexico. So I don't think any of the ones in the immediate vicinity of our state are going to turn into anything so significant that we have to Be real concerned about it, but there's a lot of activity and there's a long way to go. Yeah, and look ATT last year when we had two years ago, we had Hurricane Matthew that was in October Storm. We were dealing with Hurricane Michael. Michael. Sorry, and Hurricane Dori and we were dealing with at the end of September. I know last year, so there's a lot that can still happen. And like as we've learned over the past Three years, four years since I've been doing this and you've been doing storm coverage, it's like you never know what's going to come. And today's another another important anniversary. It's the third year anniversary of Hurricane Irma hitting Florida. I can't believe it's been three years and one of the videos and some of the images that have really been shared. Ah, lot on social media today, and I kind of forgot about this. But, boy, was it a big deal of the time when all that water got pushed out of Tampa Bay? And into the Gulf of Mexico. That was one of the craziest things. I think most of us who live here have grown up here I've ever seen. I see once before, twice before, actually during two other storms years ago. So it was. It was not that think of us rises. I had seen it before. But I can tell you what. I was working in Channel eight and because I was on here, we're not on Eros, producing behind the scenes with our morning Show Crew and Lise van Warned everyone be prepared to watch this because it is going to happen. And it was as.
