We all had high hopes back then right well. April came and went and justin bieber did not come to a city near you. Both live nation and eighty g were forced to make significant staff reductions and their executives took deep. Pay cuts and this. Latest cancellation is more bad news for ag presents. Because it's the parent company of voice which put on the coachella and stagecoach festivals together. The festivals were projected to generate more than seven hundred million dollars in overall economic activity in two thousand nineteen over one hundred million of that was expected to be injected back into the economy of indio california where the festivals are held and on top of that. Nine thousand concert goers were expected to stay in nearby airbnb so that number had doubled from twenty seventeen so the coachella cancellation is a loss for g loss for indios economy. A loss for anyone hoping to rent out their house for the festival and well even the artists scheduled to headliner missing out. That's a gig. That reportedly made arianna guerande a cool eight million. According to variety but the cancellation could mean more spending money. In the pockets of disappointed ticket holders the typical coachella attendee spent around twenty three hundred dollars for tickets parking food and merchandise in two thousand eighteen money magazine reported but that money saved is likely not a salve on the burn for folks who've been waiting for a year to go to coachella and we'll have to keep waiting with coachella cancelled. Ag presents is hoping another big name festival. Firefly scheduled for june in delaware doesn't face the same fate and it's already pushed back. It's new orleans jazz fest. From late april to october of this year in hopes that the covid nineteen pandemic will be less of a threat. Meanwhile rival live nation has is on how las vegas is responding the pandemic in hopes that the city is ready to host. Its electric daisy carnival in may and live nation is already rescheduled. Its bonnaroo festival three times. It's on the calendar. Precip timber penciled. In course

Health venture led by Amazon, Berkshire, JPMorgan is ending
"The joint healthcare venture between three of america's most powerful companies amazon j. p. morgan chase and berkshire hathaway is disbanding after three years high profile. Ceo's jeff bezos cheney diamond and warren buffett had teamed up to tackle one of corporate. America's thorniest problems the high and rising cost of employee healthcare and the initial announcement of this partnership was dramatic shares of other healthcare companies tumbled on fears about how these leaders might find a way to make it all less expensive and more efficient in june twenty eighteen. Becky quick spoke to warren buffett and jamie diamond about their shared. Goals are water of ideas out there. A lot of things will be done better. We know the fraud. The administrative 'cause we overuse underuse of of of various drugs and specialized procedures. We know the end of life is often costs. Far more than should and is far more painful should be So there's so many and big data there's so many things to do but the goal is better satisfaction for employees and eventually we can learn a lot of things and maybe help inform america. How we can improve some of these things. Have you heard from aaron place. Yeah i i Addressed a group of about one hundred and thirty or so of the various. Cfo's from all our subs Just a couple of days ago and and they're very interested in the subject and the interesting thing is as we went around interviewing Large number of perspective. ceo's we didn't run into one. That didn't think that improvement was both possible At important nobody disagreed with the the mission. The importance of it or or Feasible only but it's also a very very tough nut to crack havens initial. Ceo was dr a tool galante new yorker staff writer and surgeon. You've heard him on this podcast several times. He's an expert. In how complicated and tangled the american healthcare system is. It's a maze of doctors. Shirts drugmakers guerande. Step down as ceo to become chairman this past spring as the covid nineteen pandemic grabbed the day to day. Attention of the medical community. As haven shudders most of the firms fifty seven employees are expected to be reassigned to amazon berkshire hathaway and j. p. morgan chase. Here's joe kernan. W toward toward healthcare is hard. It's hard to solve health care. I don't care who you are. I don't care if you're talking about. Yeah i don't care if you're warren buffett jeff. I just hope it's not that you know what we lost a couple of million dollars. We'd better shut this down on those three guys. Diamond was that all three of the companies. Were doing some of their own things That they had taken out of the story tapeworm. That's really tough to when you're talking about more than seventeen percent of gdp versus five percent back in one thousand nine hundred sixty san right james warren buffett and jeff bezos saying. Forget it. we can't fix this problem then. Yeah i mean we talked about how many pay three years this is going to be it. This is going to be. Our problems are over right hi talked. I talked about this on the phone yesterday. Try to understand what happened. And i think becky's right i don't think it was that they shut it down entirely because they were losing money or something. I think in many ways it was designed. I don't want to say it was designed to fail but it was it was it was designed number challenging way which was the big lesson of this was actually insurance is local. These health systems are local. And trying to do it on a national basis with with employees in all different types of locality. all kinds of different systems may very. Well be too hard. I think a lot of the lessons were learned. Have been implemented are being implemented at j.p morgan in areas like new york in columbus ohio. For example. i think you're seeing what amazon's doing remarkably actually in seattle. They're their program therefrom -ployees which also include warehouse workers not just not just executive employees. So i think there are some things that will come out of this but obviously not Not the big headlines that that had been expected three years ago when this began. Let's say amazon has rolled out a lot of different initiatives over the last year or two. I was looking at a store yesterday. That kind of laid out some of those things just the idea of amazon health. The they do it for their employees as you mentioned andrew and i think they have thoughts of of selling that other companies too so i i don't think we're going to see the end of any of these companies or any of these actors trying to get healthcare costs. I guess it's just a question of how you do that. And you're right. It is local. You you've got to do this on a local basis but healthcare costs are are not going down. You know they rise faster than inflation. It's a. it's a huge huge issue More than seventeen percent of gdp and we do have to continue to try and find a way to tackle this

"As we are sitting here news just broke that ariana grande as engaged yet again to her life right now. She announced a dalton. Dalton gomez is alive reaction because it's literally just hitting instagram twitter. All right now arianna guerande posted in her latest instagram post. A picture drove forever and then some and a picture of the engagement ring. And i don't know what is happening. I don't know why this is happening. But i would advise ariana grande day to now get engaged again so fast. I don't know. I don't know that's just me. That's my personal opinion. She's happy though in love. We can't like no are anaconda. Don't get engaged. But this didn't work out well last time. And it hasn't really been that long that she's been with dalton gomez so. I don't know why this is happening. Good for them. I guess against my youthful fucking ring. Beautiful ring honestly likely if a ball stomach. It's like have diamond half parole. I've never seen her engagement ring. Where i was like. I want that to be my in during. I've really don't have one in my head. I think one now. I like this a lot. Demi Lovato Spills Tea on Friendship With Selena Gomez
"Abbado is spilling the T. On her celebrity friends who okay Demi is on the cover of Harper's bizarre and she talks about is the main issue as she talks about. She's no longer friends with Selena Gomez she does say that she loves the supportive friendship that she shares with Ariana Guerande. Let's start with the start with this. Okay so she says to women who are in competitive industry. The whole world seems that they wanted women against each other. So it'd be so easy to do that so she loves that Arianna in her. Have this great friendship. And there's not any kind of competition there as she talks about how she really really valued finding good girlfriends industry because she has such a hard time doing that Do you think it's hard to find friends within the same industry your end? I think it depends on how young you are. When you get into the industry I think a lot of times when girls come up together in any industry at some point the level of immaturity in the things that you go through in life will tear you apart that I got into this industry later on in life so the friendships I have. I don't see as competition. I see more as a guiding light. Like for me Scott Evans. Who's also you know? A young black man on this type of show is Kinda Sorta my guiding light in this whole thing and had we started off younger had been going through the trenches together in our early twenties. Maybe that wouldn't be the same. Yeah you know. I haven't done this for quite a while and I do know what you're saying and I do think it's changed. I think when I was younger I do think there was a lot more competitive and it was never outspoken. Typical High School Bullshit. You know where it's like. Oh well Carissa is is doing that. I could be doing that. I'm better than her. You know things like that that would be unsteadily said behind my back and I'd hear about it was like high school gossip stuff you know and then you did you got to an age where you realize. There's room for everyone right and the better. What does honestly lift everybody up so but it takes a long time to get to that point and I don't know that any some people don't get to that point I think especially in. This is not demis industry or our industry but I think reality stars have a hard time with s because they all think that they have the most interesting lives and that they have the best stories and that's why they do make a reality stars because they have this competitive edge with each other that it's really hard for them to be supportive in cheer the others. Don't you think I think when you start a reality show early on and again at the younger age I'm going to go at it? Behooves you have drama with somebody to have that competition. I think what producers trying to do. Is they try to say this. Is Anyone show? Whoever comes up and shines the most will be the queen. Bee of the show are the king of the show. So I think that's how they set this whole I think the same thing happened with Demi Levato and would selena Gomez there were people in their ears backing fort being. You're the next big thing. You're the next big thing so you automatically became competition. But it's so odd to me that now that these girls are in a more mature age. They've gone through stuff in life. I can't believe they haven't turned around and said while we are obviously more related than we know. We're both going through different things. We've both are struggling with our mental health. Maybe let's go back to those to those moments when we were kids in talk about the things that we went through and talked about how our mental health that was undiagnosed at the time and untreated might have played A. Yeah absolutely. I think you're right but it's interesting. Because so here's the thing what she said about. Selena Gomez they're basically. She said she had mixed feelings. What's laying posted this message on instagram? After performed on the grammy's because she basically says when you grow up with somebody you're always going to have love for them but I'm not friends with her so it felt that Dadan. She stopped herself I think he was looking for the word disingenuous and I think after your friend goes through something like she went through a matter who you are if we haven't talked in five years and you came out five years later and said that you went through this. You almost died. You went to Rehab. You got you know you brought in for evaluation and I was your friend at any point in my life. I will stop. Pick up the phone and say hey. I just saw your performance. It was moving. I just WanNa let you know that I'm here for you on top of that. I would double down on that if I had been through. Some of the the same things as we heard Selena Gomez open up about her bipolar disorder and about things that she was struggling when there is no better opening. Line to recuperating a friendship like. I know what you've been through. I've been through the same thing before snow. Use the L. That Selena. Maybe didn't take that step detects her personally and the fact that she went out and did it publicly. It almost looked as though this genuine over grill. You got you know somebody who knows somebody who can get in touch `Gabon to get my number for united then connect this belief. I think that sometimes they don't take the proper steps and when I'm sorry if you would oppose that about me on instagram and tried to go that route. I would've been upset. Yeah I talked to. I can't help. But wonder if her becoming closer to scooter. Braun made her rethink what she thinks about Selena. Thank I can only imagine. Scooter has said some stories and know some things about her that we don't know about and she's probably heard them. Maybe I don't know I wonder win. Her mind about a wonder what point it became. Slain is not my friend. I mean I mean the fact that she's going on record in a magazine. Sancti is not my friend I mean to me I feel like most loved would have been like. We don't talk as much as we used to. But you know always love her and you know always support her. Whatever you'd give some sort of vague answer like that but she's like we're not friends at. I think this will happen before. Scooter Braun. Because they haven't been friends in a very very long time and I think if anything I think moving forward scooter. Braun knows that twelve step program in an INS and out the INS and outs of it I think. Scoot Ron has been a part of an has had a hand in getting a lot of his artists on the right track and he knows the steps and he knows that forgiveness is a big step and he knows that making a man's is a big step and sometimes making a men's isn't about saying hey. I'm sorry it's about saying hey I accept that we're not friends anymore but I don't have any blood because my sobriety is important. I DON'T THINK SCOOTER. Braun is going to fire up this engine. I do think though the Taylor swift of it all might have played a part in it because Selena is a huge supporter of Taylor swift and Demi Levato came after Taylor Swift after the scooter. Braun allegations have been made I. I don't think it's a scooter. Braun thing I think it's a quick thing okay. I don't know I just feel like if you already are starting to change your mind about somebody nearly certainly cut them out of life and then you cut them out of your life and then you become closer with people who also don't love this person it just as fueled the fire to be like. Yeah I don't need you in my
Pete Davidson's Shady Ex
"There are two things we know about Pete. Davidson one has a very big penis and to. He's pretty open about his Arianna Guerande especially in his new interview with Charlemagne the God those shade at the grammys. I'm sure she was living again. Like all I get it. That's her job like you know she has to. That's her aura. She has like music to it and stuff I get it so like I hope. People feel the same way about my jokes. Misery on the ground is some points line. Here's a couple But you know stand ups part of my life. That was a highly publicized thing. Feel like she got her fair run her fair stab at it. I think that's a fair game. That is outlet. That's that's how he expresses himself. Comedy comes for life experiences. What you joke about. I think you're You know you'd be doing it wrong if you didn't talk about what's going on in your life. I mean if I dated share you know I would not keep that out of my stand back. Because that's that's what's happening with me and yes that is me putting that out there. Where's my share camshaft? You're listening. I'm six one kind of I don't have enough lane on my life. You left you hard at that and if you're listening on twitter or come on this show. Does she shot? I mean look. I've known you for Awhile. We we started saying we're on the same time and and you know he's told me very candidly about a lot of his relationship is well. We were both very high so I forgot most of it but I think he's. He's kind of a what you see is what you get guy which I I love about. That's the kind of the theme though when you date a public figure. If you even if you date an actor or data writer you might end up in a book or you might end up in the script. We could see you on the big screen character based on you if you date a comedian like I've dated a comedian in the past. And he never named me. You know what I mean but I knew loosely talking about me and it was like me. Who's the comedian? Can you say I'm not going to say? How did you hear what you saw when he was talking about state lottery? I don't care what he's saying he's lying anyway.

"I'm just curious like what why can something be black excellence, and then something can't be white excellence. Like, what can't something be country? Why excellent can't do that. You can't do. Probably fired already. Happens every day here every single our jobs back. I mean, this is this is something you can't say I'm just asking the question because I just think that that's kind of odd that you can do that. I'm just asking the question. Well, if you have an answer to that question. Please call our hotline at six eight four eight four four four and help us out. Meanwhile, there's not only the Netflix documentary. But the documentary is in fact about this album this whole, yeah, she doesn't just released an album. It's gotta be a production. Right. Like a thriller video. Right. So she there's the Netflix thing called homecoming a film by beyond say that premiered early Wednesday. And then she also dropped homecoming the live album like forty songs on it. That's a lotta song. Yeah. It's a lot. Lot of music there. I think you can only get it on her husband's streaming service title at the moment. I don't know if that will stand off. But here's how they describe it bay Chela. She of course, performed at Coachella bay Chela took up the entire stage complete with an orchestra cold from historically black college and university band members dance themes related to African American culture and her stirring rendition of the black national anthem lift every voice and sing I didn't realize that there was a black national anthem. I didn't either I thought as a country national anthem all collectively shared our land plant them. It's a bland them. It's a bland excellence. See I thought that Arianna Guerande was the one who really represented Coachella. I read that. She was the highlight some clips of her and man, she can sing live like nobody thought the she was the big draw and she sang with instinct or something. She brought it back. Yeah. She's fantastic live. She has a mazing voice. There's no question about it definitely got some pipes. So they also in the same article they say while the uninitiated may have thought that they were just enjoying a hell of a beyond say concert. Homecoming lets it be known. How intentionally and lovingly black? It all was okay. He was like super extra black. I guess a lot of emphasis on that. And I'm not exactly sure why does that mean like white people aren't allowed to listen. I don't know. I just feel like that's because I never know, you know, where my overstepping my balance somebody can call us in our hotline at sixty four eight four four four and let us know anyway. Apple Brings Out Oprah to Tout Apple+ Streaming TV
"Start by telling us, how Oprah Winfrey summed up Apple's entertainment strategy in a way. Yeah. Oprah really had the perfect line about apple. I guess she has the perfect line about many things what she said at the end of this event that apple held to announce its new streaming video service and other things and she explained it by saying they're in a billion pockets y'all billion pockets referring roughly to the number of iphones and other apple gadgets that are inactive use worldwide. And what she meant by that. And if that is really apples pitch as a to investors as corporate strategy right now. Which is look we have one point four billion iphones and other apple devices that people are using around the world, those are dedicated fan base. And now, we can sell those people all kinds of other stuff. Right. So people have long bought apps right from their iphones and apple takes a cut of money from many paid apps and now apple wants to sell you more stuff their new TV. Plus, they service that's coming in the fall. They have a video game subscription service. They have a news subscription service. They've had apple music since two thousand fifteen a paid subscription music service. So apple strategy is to basically take that huge base of fans and apple device owners and turn them into more money. Well, I have an iphone and all of a sudden I'm paying for storage extra storage each month. I have a couple of of the apple things doesn't it work. Then he's working. It does seem to be working. So if you look at apple has this category that it calls services, which is a terrible jargon. But it's basically all the digital doodads. And then clues things like the storage for which your paying apple and apple music and have TV plus in there as well. And that number has really grown that. Apple CEO, Tim cook several years ago, set a goal of generating fifty billion dollars in revenue by a belief next year in these digital doodads the services category, and it's going to get there. It's all already almost there. And that's a testament to Apple's power to sell stuff that people like you who owed their iphones, but you're right, but not all digital services are created equal rights. So this this corporate strategy about apple is the basis of the investment thesis. And apple right now that it's all that investors talk about never mind that apple Jerry, sixty percent of its revenue from selling iphones, and that category of revenue is declining that apple is having a harder and harder time. Time selling new iphones because of changes of the smartphone market people are holding onto phones longer than they did a three or four or five years ago. And so apple is like, please pay no attention to our iphone sales, which are sixty percent of our revenue. Police focus on the services revenue in our ability to grow that that pie. The problem is that investors believe that those digital doodads the services are inherently this rich high margin profit pool because look when you buy an app right that costs two dollars apple apples costs for delivering that apper almost zero. So that's dollars is almost pure profit. For apple some of the new services that apple is introducing do not have those same high profit margin characteristic. So music is one example, right when you stream music on Spotify or apple music or other places the apple or Spotify has to give something like seventy five cents of every dollar that you pay to the record labels and other people who own the rights for Arianna Guerande songs or lady Gaga songs or whatever. And so that means that Apple's profit margins on on apple music is low and TV plus is going to be the same issue that. A streaming video service, again Oprah Winfrey does not work for free, Steven Spielberg. So right. Steven Spielberg is also making shows and all these other Hollywood celebrities that apple is signed up to make TV series and movies for its video streaming service, those people cost money, and if you look at a company like Netflix their profit margins are relatively slim at least compared to kind of conventional internet or software company because again that programming is expensive. And so my concern is that investors are waking up to the divergent profit potential of all of these digital services that Apple's introducing is the problem that when we talk about apple and its profits from the iphone. It's the numbers are so huge. What can you get to fill that yet? Look, this is the this is apple still right now that it is a gigantic gigantic company it's revenue and particularly its profits are just. Staggering. And there is nothing on the horizon at apple probably at any company that can replace or even play second fiddle to the enormous profit pools delivered by the iphone there's just no way to replace what looks to be a declining revenue year-over-year for Apple's iphone business. Thanks year. That's your over day. A Bloomberg opinion.

Like, I did four million harmonies on everything. And that's that's my favorite thing to do is like vocal range vocal produce like to call my own vocals, like I like to like vocal range, everything myself, and that was so much fun. Because everyone was just kind of like, yeah. Do I was like a canal extend more not where it. Okay. So it was really cool. I got to like make everything sound like a big cloud. I'm happy because also in the mix. None of that got lost are usually like when they mix it lake in like tuck certain lives in the back or like certain harmonies in the back. But like all the vocals, we cut feel like one big lead. And that's really don't. I don't know what part of thing live when I sing.
