"Episode of the corner podcast, Cal dansby here with the old man Andrea as hell in the building. Miss you in studio the other day. Yeah, yeah, yeah, young retired the D.C. D.C. is yes, cold took great great satisfaction and sending the D.C.'s out to pasture. So the DCs are gone permanently. I have to go buy more cakes a couple weeks or so. Congratulations. Yeah, yeah, you know, I got to get a rotation up now that the DCs are gone. So I got to figure out what I want here and there, shout out to everyone again, giving me suggestions online, producer cold bay bay is in the booth, but I'm sure he was still chimed in from in there. Thank you for holding it down on Sunday show and for the past month or so. People love producer cold baby. I don't need me anymore. He's the biggest baby face on the show. One day it's going to be you and Cole and people are going to be sad because it's going to be like no heel on this side. It would be baby face or baby face. Yeah. Like the old school Bret Hart match. Yeah, I mean, there's a way you can go here, but yeah, nobody wants to complete baby face show. No, no, no. Yeah, man. It's been great, but now we're in the midst of Canelo week. We talked a little bit about Canelo and what it meant for its future and stuff, ten last show, but figured we'd focus on Canelo, everything about the weak single to my whole ass stuff to open up this show. We're also going to talk UFC two 74, which is coming up this weekend. We'll have a full preview and ovince saint Preux will be joining us to close out the show today. So that's going to be fun. Chopping it up with him, you know, phasing shogun again. I think you mentioned before the show 8 years, 8 years since the last time they fought, why? He's fought everyone since then. I can't wait to ask him why. He's fought John Jones. He's fought everyone. This is like a full circle moment. They fought on the way while shogun already been around. I feel like a decade. But he fought on the way up, shogun was in the middle, and then now the kind of fighting at the end to close the circle. So it's going to be interesting to pick his brain about that matchup. Before we dive into Canelo, the fight itself, give our predictions because I didn't give it on the last show. Single am I a week? And it's always great, Mexican fans are already out here grinding rivals yesterday. Can I with fans full force poor Bill vault? There's no one here to see him. He's a man alone. So it's just all Canelo this weekend. And it got me thinking, Dre. Been to your crib. I've been there for many a theme party. To this day, one of my favorites was the Mexican food theme party. Everyone brought, basically, it might have been like around single DeMille. A couple years ago. It was. Great party. People are coming into Vegas for this fight. Good amount of people were just here last weekend. People will be back. We have so many things going on in Vegas, AW week coming up, playing people hitting us up on Twitter, saying they're going to be in town. This is our chance to shine. What is your go to Mexican food spot in Vegas? Go to Mexican food spot. That people need to know about because again, if any of you guys are in town, Dre's brunch recommendations. Yeah. On point. I finally just tried bacchanalia, what is that Caesars? The buffet. Oh, the bacon, yeah, yeah, yeah. That was incredible. I told you. That was legit. I don't even eat seafood. They had like the whole seafood spread, but the carving station, everything else. Next level. Another good Dre recommendation on the best buffet in town. Yeah. Yeah. Let's see, Mexican food. If you want some good Gourmet, you went there. We just went there after the pandemic. We all went there, El Dorado cantina in tivoli village. Yes, that was good. Banging enchiladas, they got more enchiladas that are off the hook, the elote is always great. But that's like my go to spot right now. It depends on the palate, right? Like some days you want to just trash, like Roberto's and you just pull up and get you a quesadilla or some kind of satisfries and you call it Daniel stomach hurts tomorrow. Please, if you are an adult and you're slightly inebriated, please be an adult and do not get fries. He would traditional get the carne asada nachos and let's rock out. Fries are for like preteens. It's not a fries and a heartbeat. Now you need the nachos. So you have to dig in there with the fingers, no fork. Now I want the fork. And your fingers smell like sour cream for like 8 hours after. No, no. That sounds juvenile. It's delightful. I like my car to the inside of her eyes. But Roberto's it, you know, you get a good quesadilla. It might not have a great grade health grade on the outside, the dirtier, the better quality of food. But yeah, it's good drunk food. I hate Roberto's and North Las Vegas. Child to everyone over there. And you were playing with fire. What? Delicious. That red sauce had a little extra something in it. Yeah, because someone walked in it. Forgot to you. I'm waiting. That's what it takes. But we have some good Mexican food spots out here. And it's like, there's one over here at the fashion show. That's actually pretty good. That one's not bad. It's depending on what you get. Yeah. Taco eat taco is like my go to that's not too far from the strip and Henderson as legit. They have the Al pastor where they shave. Yes, which is always key. And if you walk in and out past stores on the spigot, and it's just rotating, then you know, okay, I'm in a decent spot. Tacos Al Gore though is here on the strip now. That was good too. But I grew up again in Rancho high school, shout out. Charles Steven Bruce, the original tacos el guardo, nothing better than that, but no one. I am not telling you to go to Charleston and Bruce. So if you're in town and you go, they were like, oh, Kel said, this is the best. No, no, and you get robbed. Don't blame it on me. What's going on the strip? It's not that far off. Plus, you're going to keep all your money in your jewels. So don't go to the North Las Vegas. Don't.

"Through one nil in aggregate. Go on. You can stop. Well, leti came out very differently to how they did in the first leg and the first 20 minutes. But we knew they would. And the first 20 minutes of this match was more interesting than the entire 90 that we saw in the first leg. That was by design. One thing that letting me didn't get enough credit for in the first leg was how well they shifted the ball out of defense on occasion and pressed forward in some of their attacking play in this game was really enterprising and oppressive and really quite enjoyable and had city in arbitrary fair bit of trouble where they shifted the ball through midfield. Thomas Lamar looked really quite good. He's a player that I've always looked to at that point it's going to have his breakout moment. It's not coming. He's just a good, a good playmaker. Again, I think missing Carrasco as a starter. Which made them lack a bit of thrust, and I've always I've always been a bit ambivalent about your playing as a right wing back because I feel you get more as an inside as an interior. But he added some really good attacking threats. And draft Felix as well, just finding dangerous pockets, he's been brilliant recently for Atlas as well. I think it's on the best goals going for him that he's been at since he's been there. Yeah, so he doesn't get, he doesn't get as much of the possession as he should, but he still manages to be very efficient with it. So yeah, let you a new proposition, but pep knew this guardo knew it was coming and this is the thing. It's credit to city that they played their game and I have to say this as well. I love that Guardiola has just absolutely normalized. Playing three midfielders is a front three. Or three.

"Yeah, get it all got to get on the church they're gonna make it on welcome to carcass man of world's math, the motivator Deandre over there. How you doing? Doing well. How are you doing? Great, just came back from crazy auction week in Arizona. Yeah. Big, big party at Barrett Jackson, 50th anniversary, a great showing at RM. I mean, this the market was nuts. Just world records left and right. Yeah, I was looking at some of the results last night and you know that the segment that's really going up is the custom car stuff you know and C ten trucks block just boxy 60 70s trucks 400 grand. Lots of lots of customized vats, customized vats didn't use the fetch anything. No, but then last year, Kevin Hart spent three quarters of a $1 billion. Yeah. Somebody spent no, he spent sorry, he spent like 657 $100,000 almost a $1 million on a somebody who spent 7 plus, I think on either convertible or split window. The vet. So the vets used to be, if you had a split window that was really nice and original, it would fetch good money. And if you had big block 71, I don't know all the vet designations. But if you had the right one from the 60s and the right one from the 70s, the 70s would always be the big block. I guess four 54. Those would bring some good money. But the custom ones were just kind of a waste of your money. I mean, in terms of the guys who put the money into them, they just didn't fetch anything. And now the custom vents are going nuts. The custom, you know, everything suburbans and stuff. The stuff that's well built built really pulls money, but I am surprised by some of the numbers like I was sitting there with Aaron Shelby and Randall Shelby and I think it was a 67 GT 500 KR went up. $280,000, I think was the hammer price. And they're like, wow, that's good. That's a big number for that car. And then right after that was like a K 5 blazer that went for 400,000. I'm like, come on now. Right. I was like, it's a cool truck. I get it to cool thing, but I don't want to make fun of the YouTube guys, but it felt like a YouTube buyer. Like at that point. And then the G wagon 6 by 6, that was like $1.5 million. It was a setup for $1.5 million. This is a McLaren P one. There's a four GT carbon fiber heritage cars up there. I was like, do you want the 6 by 6? Yeah, the trucks are pulling all the money. The modern day supercars or getting all the money. Some of the lambos that didn't currently the mercy a Lagos and the countach is and even the God I'm trying to think of, what's the Lambo with the mirror that goes the wrong the wrong way that it was bothers me. Not the era con but the one before. The guardo guardo are those things are in the super leger edition and stuff. These are like modern day cars that are pulling good money. And then there's the Mercedes one 90s. And I've always said, the Mercedes won 90s sort of a glorified Carmen gear. If you really think about it. If you look at a Carmen ghee and a one 90 in a squint a little bit, there'll be about the same car. Yeah. I would say this. Minus the Mercedes batch. If you pulled up on a first date in a Carmen gia or one 90, the chick wouldn't know the difference it wouldn't care. Coverage is probably faster. Probably a little bit quicker. But with the gull wings and the coops and sorry the convertibles, getting all the money now, finally moving. Yeah. I mean, those cars were you could set your watch on a Mercedes 300 convertible or Mercedes gull wing. Yeah. All day long, the gull wings were one, two, and the convertibles were 9 50 to 1 million or something like that. And that's just what it was for a decade. It wasn't that way for 6 years. It was that way for ten years. And then just in the last ten minutes, the gold wings have popped. And as I always say, and I always used to talk about buying the little brother, get the little brother. Yeah. You know, if the big brother crosses a million bucks and the little brother, in this case, meaning the one 90 is sitting around $86,000, go get it. Because when the big brother now starts to cross 2 million bucks, then that now the one 90s or three 50. I think at Barrett, they're going 1.875 or something like that almost 1.9 million and to your point, the one 90 at pair of Jackson, $350,000. That used to be $50,000. The one thing worst off, Barrett Jackson wouldn't have been a good place to sell a one 90 a few years ago. Right. Or if you want a $47,000 for it, it would have been a good place to sell it. But not if you wanted a 150,000 bucks or so now and I think maybe I can circle this back to bring a trailer. There is no more who's selling it anymore. You know, they're used to be a lot of, well, you got that car. That car's no good for Barrett Jackson or Russo or whatever. Or something. That car's no good for that. It's like you want to move a copo Camaro you go to bear it..

"The following program was pre recorded in the dirt doctor or back. Uh, we have first time today Wide open line, so jump on board here. I got a couple of things to do so It'll work out. Well, 8664443478 what You called to be on the show that they will get you all set up. This event. I was telling you about that, um, David and the people that the, uh greater Fort Worth herbs say invited me to again is, uh, on the Um, website under appearances. Now, if you didn't jot down their information when I told you it's next next Saturday, starting at 9 30 in the morning. Just look at the, uh, appearances button and give you the details. It's just the Texas Garden Club headquarters on Guardo Garden Road in four or is that in the Botanic Gardens next to it's in the botanical gardens over there? Uh, they said they are going to do the covid. You know, Precautions temperature as you come in and all that. Yeah, I think I think Mask you're going to be optional, But, uh, there, you know, being careful about all that If you're having a concern about that, another event that I have coming up. It's also under appearances is the Colin County Home and garden show. We're not doing talks at this one. It's a little different. We're just going to be there answering questions and have some products and some sign ups for membership in the Online courses, and I think a few products and that sort of thing, so it sounds like fun details that will be also under the appearance button on Dirt dr dot com for you. I mentioned at the beginning and show how it was gonna get back to it. And I almost forgot which I'm sure won't surprise anybody. About my gingko is my little Kinko's and slugs at the at the House. I have been growing little game coz and doing bonds, eyes and doing little forests of the Kinko's and all kinds of things from the fruit. From my tree, the fruit and the seed from my tree, One of the things that's available to you when you join the Organic Club of America. It's kind of fun. A lot of people don't like female. Trees because if the fruit stays on the ground long enough, it starts rotting and smelling pretty bad. I don't mind it too much. He was a It was a heavy, uh, crop last year and Took a little time shop vac at all up to prevent the problem. But what I like about it is that I can grow little trees, they sprout up all over the place. And I dig him up. And it's remarkable how easy they are to transplant and so gotten a lot of little game coach growing here and there, and I did a group not too long ago, and one of the things I discovered by doing this is that Ginko will grow in the shade solid shade all day long. And you know all the way out into full sun. It's one of the neat things about the tree. Lot of neat things about it, but it will be part of my next column. In fact, I don't think I said that was my next column. Uh, will be, uh, will cover gingko and Texas I ash. And, uh, pecan. And Mexican sycamore of four of the really cool freeze that I recommend, like, give you some. The whole point of this is to give the some details are a little out of the ordinary little bit different angle on the trees that I recommend for you. And I'm also talking at the beginning of the column about the fabulous tree. Slide show. So check all that out. But anyway, back to the old Genco Lo and behold and notice the other day that Two or three of the group of 10. Different, uh, parts of gingko start getting started had quite a bit of damage on the foliage, and I could tell by CNN without even seeing the craters which were gone. They did a hidden Run, but they were slugs, slugs and and or snails that did the damage. Why it happened and it has never happened before. I don't know. I'm still scratching my head about it a little bit. And, um, had made have had to do with how shady it is. I've got them under the gingko and under a Rusty black hole, viburnum one of the points I recommend that I mentioned to you a minute ago in under the Perotti A. So it is heavy duty shade all day long, So there may be a point where The shade gets a little too strong light a little too weak for you and the Kinko's and the stress that Comes along with that might encourage the slugs and snails. On the other hand, slugs and snails aren't insects. They don't really, uh, have that program in their brain about Well, the plants in stress, So I'm supposed to go in and take you out. You know that's how nature's checks and balances or work. They just sometimes go after whatever's, uh, near near their paths. Some people would recommend seven and other toxic chemicals if they had slugs and snails, But I think it's important for you know that the strongest thing I would recommend for slugs and snails would be slow. Go. It's an iron based product. I'm not even that fired up about that. I like first of all to try garlic, pepper tea as repellent and then secondly, Sprinkle hot pepper like a hot red pepper that you put on a pizza. And, uh, Cedar Flakes can work pretty well, not only on slugs and snails, but on pill bugs and sow bugs. And sometimes, uh, you know, a little garlic spread around will work as well. And one of the things I think it was hints from Hello is this past week that is in the same section that are right for the comics and Uh, puzzles paid the best part of the paper, by the way, in from alloys and all the other recommendations, the dirt doctor and, uh, cartoons and puzzles. But anyway, she had direct command over this. One of our listeners want to hear people readers that sent in a recommendation. For what was it that she was repelling? Um Something from the pair. Eo Squirrels can't believe I forgot that because I don't have a good recommendation for squirrels. This might be worth trying and certainly will myself But the readers recommendation was to use hot red pepper. Chili pepper, and in this case, what they recommended and black pepper a combination of black pepper and chili pepper and said it worked great..

Oh, of course, you know, one of the things that I really like to do this A B. J, uh, onions tend to play a recurring role in most of each day recipes. Is slice your onions really thin and then wash them under cold running water for just a few minutes. It just gets a little bit of that bitterness a little bit of that funk and sort of potency out of them and then to pat them dry and what you end up with Is this like sweet, earthy, wonderful, crunchy texture. That Mary's perfectly and really sort of provides a platform and blooms, the aroma of the fish itself. Alice mentioned she's allergic to shellfish. Is there anything my dad was actually allergic to self is too, so It wasn't around. It's on growing up. I'm not as comfortable cooking any cooking tips specifically for shellfish is a different at all. Or is it pretty much the same deal? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, it's it's very different and shellfish is big category of, you know, for everything from an oyster that you know to clams and mussels to lobsters and shrimp. But like everything else with seafood, it's I would say, Turn down your heat low and slow. Give yourself some leeway. Uh, shellfish. You have the the benefit of cooking them in the shell, which not only adds it helps that flavor but also retains moisture and texture. So Have confidence just by him. It's the Diamondbacks who have lost 22 consecutive road games so we could see maybe maybe we'll see more than five home runs. Let's talk to him. Richard earlier you see him with pop before and after a Giants games will finish up today and you'll hear it right here on K and B already joins us. Courtesy of the, um I guess like, how are you? I'm good. I'm good man. You know, short night, but good result last night, So it's always good. Sleep fast. You're looking beautiful. You're ready to roll. Uh, so we went back and my college a little marsh back and forth from last night to your game, April 7th 2000 and three. You had two pumps. Uh, Jose Cruz Jr too, and I got her. Alfonzo had one. You were right. That was a home opener. That's Felipe his first year Ritchie and you guys going into that game, get off to a six and I'll start you are seven and oh to start that year after the anguish of the previous October. Yeah. You know, it was, uh, you know, near transition, Really? For us, even though we had a majority of our guys coming back, But, you know, we had a new manager we had We had lost Jeff Kent. We had lost David Bell. Um, you know, you know, we tried to fill in which and free agents I could Guardo and Ray Durham. We got off to a great start. I mean, I want to say At some point, we were like 20 and 4 25 or something like that. Uh, and again we had We had a great rotation and, uh, got us all the way to playoffs. But I was testing fish down in Florida Goddess again that year. So getting in that well, Jose Cruz Jr. Oh, no, no. Oh, no, removing in general moving on. What is that average? What is that park like when? When it's got the heat rolling like it did last night. And then today, maybe we'll see even more with it Being as warm as it is. Well, it flies and you know, I'm actually looking at a photo of the ballpark right now. The flags are pretty much hanging straight down. So on hot days like this with no wind When the ball is going to fly. It's definitely going to fly. Um, it was like that back in the day. When I played here, It's not changed at all. I mean, the only thing that's really changed in the past couple years is that That walk away in right field That's closed up right now. That will possibly be opened at the end of the month. But when you get the heat at this ballpark, it plays Way smaller. I'd say it plays probably better than stare when it's when it's like this, But you guys know you've seen seen it enough when it's You know, cooler at night and the winds blowing any plays very big. Right. So last night, they hit five homers at home, and so now they're starting to hit more than one a game at home. They got 37 homers and 30 home games. 62 on the road and 32 Road games is amazing. Believe it 99 rich in 68 games, so they're on pace for 235.8. So I'm gonna round up your team in a one Had 235 and that's the all time franchise record. As we've noted many times, you and Barry combined for 110, I think you each hit 55 as I recall. Um I'll take that. No, but I mean you 73 37. You had big time home. I don't know if they're gonna have a 30 home run hitter. They may and we'll ask you about Crockett New Year mark of 37. Other one But can they break your record? And just what do you see? Because they don't have When you think of the Giants. You think of the Giants of the sixties maze McCovey so paid, uh Heaven for, you Know, guys that can hit the ball out of the ballpark than your group. You guys were loaded with power hitters. You got some guys here, but not the kind of reputation that you guys had. Do You think they can do this? Can they sustain this and break your Franchise record and hit 236 homers as a team or maybe beyond. Um, you know, that's so hard to answer, Greg because you look forward, you know, through through the rest of the season, there's so many things that that can affect this and and one is going to be. You know, one of their top home run guys right now is Buster and listen, Buster plays, you know. Two thirds of the game. So you know his bats not always in there. You know it can cross sustained the street that he's on right now. Can Brandon belt, you know? Be streaky for a long time because we know how his streaks go on and then you also have to take into account when they opened his ballpark back up to full capacity. They may open up that walkway in right field, of which You know, Two studies the last few years, and I guess they said that this has made a huge difference in the weight of all travels. And now you have That the MLB implementing rules on pictures not being able to use anything for grip, So you don't know if the pitching side of it may drop off a little bit. I think I really don't have an answer for you. I guess my I guess that's my guts. Tell me, the answer would probably be no in a sense that we had guys on our club that you know there. There are five or six guys that could hit 20 homers a year. I mean, you know it wherever they played this ball club, not a lot of, you know, Two guys play every day. Guys are mixing in and out of the lineup..

"The day we've had both snidely from the Rush Limbaugh show. And a very, very, very successful entrepreneur who said I can't live that life. I have to blow the whistle. This is not good. There's just bad for America, Vivek I want to ask you a question of we're talking about farm up. And and the challenges and I got a couple of questions. I want to get to. First of all, if you could change one thing, so that we have the research and development. Find the drugs that are gonna heal us, or at least treat us what's the biggest impediment to that right now. Shouldn't give his cultural bureaucracy within the industry. This is actually something that Motivated me to start my company in the first place years ago, is in 2014, which is the Ah lot of these big organizations, especially in regulated industries and farmers, A regulated industry by FDA. Ends up actually emulating the bureaucracy of their regulator. Even the titles in a big pharma bureaucracy actually track the titles of their counterparts at FDA, and over the years that has created This new kind of bureaucracy within the private sector. What I call kind of deep corporate, which ultimately has a bunch of people who don't get rewarded if they risk that they take Upon the project that they pursue end of succeeding, But if they take a risk, and they fail on one of those projects, they might actually face job security risks or reducing their budgets. And as a consequence, you have actually very few people willing to take the kind of scientific risks that you need to take in order to innovate. So that's kind of why Big Pharma's productivity in R and D investment has been so low chronically low over the last number of decades. And it's funny because it's actually deeply related to this new breed of corporate ism that that's affecting our culture more broadly, but it affect innovative industries like Pharma to that operates. Much more like governments than they do like innovative, nimble private companies. You know we're a country that that that that Went after the the historical battle of insufficient food stuffs and we conquered it were, you know, grocery store to the groceries to the world more food than we can handle, and then we went to the other extreme. We went from starvation, too morbid obesity. Let's start with when you talk about the overdependence on pharmaceuticals. What went wrong with fentanyl? Well, this is this. Is there much longer discussion and that there was one thing that went wrong. There's a wide range of things that went wrong that conspired to creating I think what I think is a tragedy in America over the course of the last decade, and they look, I think that there was actually a discussion to be had about whether a prior generation Of painkillers or alternative to deal with pain had actually been overregulated in a way that took more medicines off the market. That then should have been taken off the market, which allowed people to actually focus in on overprescribing, fentanyl and other opioids. And so that I think was one That's not the entire exploration. But that's one contributing factor. Now look contributing factor was, I think companies went, you know, did did more than they should have done with respect over marketing and overprescribing. Biggest these things. I think doctors in many cases Warner's educated As they should have been personally I think that that actually is more likely happen in the context of a nanny state that we live in where people assume that the FDA is always doing its job and has to be correct because that level of authority that they They exert. But in fact that crowds out people making independent judgments at every step of the chain, including at the level of positions, including at the level of hospitals and other prescribing institutions, and so it wasn't one cause it was complicated set of causes that in some senses was An indictment of our culture and way of doing things that something like this was allowed to happen at all. And I think that everyone bears some responsibility. It's easy to peg the blame on one company and call it a day and move on. I don't think we would learn the full set of lessons. We had to learn from that crisis and that don't that epidemic of the last decade without actually realizing the ways in which even our government structures had actually created a failure that allowed this to happen. As a baby lawyer. I worked at a firm called Hyman Phelps of McNamara in D. C. And it had former FDA commissioner is in general counsel's there and That firm expertise was bringing drugs to market. We brought Tagamet indeed to market there were there were several major drugs that they were working on as I was there. And it was this sort of, you know, lumbering bureaucracy that you were dealing with and and how the FDA was simply slowing things down with these clinical trials. The flip side of that is if those clinical trials were so important that we kept him in place. Over all those years in the protocols had meaning, and they protected us. What do you make of a vaccine that was rushed to market so quickly? That being covered 19. Yeah. Look, Look, I think that I looked at it a little bit differently in that. This was you know, there was there was a necessity for the global pandemic to be able to develop a vaccine to be able to develop it quickly in a way that could restore, you know, a normal see that the world hadn't enjoyed in a long time. I look at it differently, though. Why in the world do we normally have a Byzantine bureaucracy that says it could take over 10 years to develop a vaccine, But somehow we now can have, in my view, appropriately, a level of faith to be able to use That things that have been developed in a much shorter amount of time. So we can't have it both ways. I think if you're the FT, you can't both say that we ought to have that thing that can be developed sometimes within a matter of two years, But otherwise we still have to have the Byzantine process that takes over 10 years. I hope this serves as a wake up call to the industry, including the FDA to say that it doesn't have to be the way that for years you said the status quo had to be. This is in some ways. A an indictment of that historical bureaucratic narrative that we help accepted as truth That actually is the truth of the matter at all drugs could be developed much more quickly. It's sort of the pendant regulations. Attendant regulations, as well as the industry behavior actually tracked the necessity of not just developing a Corona virus vaccine, but I don't think al grammars is any less of a public health threat. I don't think that the spread of diabetes and obesity is any less of a long term threat. The fact that we're able to approach approach those in the lethargic way we have in the highly regulated bureaucracy that's been created by the government regulation of the development of drugs. This ought to be a wake up call to say that we actually no, you can't have it both ways and say that both that tenure process is always necessary cooked this one time where it could be done in a year and a half. No, we need to be pretty pressures on this historical structures. To see how we can actually go faster in times in so called normal times in the treatment of other diseases. Well, that's just my opinion. Would ask for no less very interesting stuff. I could keep you on forever. Vivek Rama Swami. The book is woke Inc Inside Corporate America's social justice scam. Nigerian forces accused of killing anti-police brutality protesters
"In Nigeria, where security forces have opened fire on anti government demonstrators in Lagos. This is what it sounded like. Sit down. Sit down. You can hear people telling everyone to sit down in the hope that they wouldn't be shot. We heard earlier on this program from a witness. Who said that he counted 20 fallen protesters around him. The incident took place at 6 45. We were told last night in the suburb of Lucky. This is quite an upmarket area in Lagos. It was where crowds had bean blocking traffic a toll booth at a pinch point. Basically, they were blocking traffic, causing trouble in pursuit of their campaign against police brutality and SARS. Let's speak now to someone Who was there? Certainly in the early stages of the demonstrations, not lost eagle who joins us now? Thank you very much indeed. For coming on and trying Tio, help us or help us tryingto enlightened people about what actually happened now what stage were you at the demonstration? Cause I understood that you left. Why did you leave? Yeah, it becomes so, so terrible And the situation went out of town. When the military listening they came in on when they came in. It thought we thought they were China, you know? Guardo's, You know, but all of the saddle in the open fire on a little people saw such enjoy about this morning about 52 people. We shut down so it was soaked arable and you can see the puts off the light so that we could get a clear shot off what was happening on the area and also understand the the security cameras that might have provided images of what was going on. Also got taken down now. Didn't that That gave you a warning, didn't it? You and the other protesters that something was going to happen? That was the one but you can see the food That was for Vita that it was very, very peaceful. We will hold no weapons. There was no where person, So we only have been a drunk like you see, people were sitting down on the ground because then first on Was not a fight. You understand that, and that's a very important point to make, because elsewhere, the authorities have said some of these protests have turned violent or violent elements have tried to take advantage You're saying at lucky last night, there was no violence offered a tall Can I ask you about one particular thing? I'm sure you have seen. The army on its official Twitter handle has been saying this is all fake news. The army was never there. You saw the army. How do you know that They were the Army. Because we're house on putting this off If you need me to provide that for you going to do is footage is off the army when they were shooting on that one. You guys didn't get the footage. We have it. I was 12 the don't know on DH. You know, it's the Army. Why? Because they had uniforms. Yes, they have uniforms. This. You know, this thing's was building that the evidence didn't hide behind. The issue. No own uniforms. The killed are very close. And it's very difficult to get to the bottom of what's going on, particularly how many people were injured. You. You mentioned the figure of around 50. Now That's the first time that I've heard that figure. What What are you basing that on? Is that what people are saying at the moment before saying that life was put on After I left yesterday, but on you consider people were you know down on this truth, reason why you're not getting the actual father of budding stories because the government is involved. They are trying. They are trying to hide his story because they need what they have done. This is really evil. This is bad. The kid's on citizens. This is suddenly I wasn't able to get those politicals people school so terrible a slight but when you see when, but when you see what happened to demonstrations. Are you going to go back to the street? Will you carry on protesting? You know, for now, For now, we have two weeks before the officials on what to do, because we don't know now how this situation is going to be because we can't trust nobody in the government of females in this country. We don't like that coming. But if people go back on the street again, so wait have We have to settle down. I really thought about this carefully because this is a question of Marchal. Pound it, So listen. Thank you very much indeed. For joining us Stay safe as well, Whatever you decide to do next, No Celestina, one of the people who was there in the early stages of the incident at Lucky. Yesterday evening in
