"We've had you on, well, this I think is the 7th time. I mean this sincerely. How is it that we were able to get you back so many times? Why? Yeah. What are you thinking? You've made a miscalculation about the value of having us in the show. I think it's a sort of a supply and demand kind of formula that you've got some skewed data on. All right, well, I like that. It's in your favor. We're like, you are so amazing. You're like, we accept all calls. I don't know what you're talking about. I'm just going to ask that the truck that is about to unload a mound of Rubik's Cubes onto your driveway. Drive away. We have a lot left over as it turns out, so. Cool. How are your bats aren't their bats in your driveway? And that's in our breeze way. Freeway. What is a breezeway? A breezeway is a covered pathway. It's a New England thing because snow. And so it connects the house to a garage in our case. Okay. The bats for a while. We actually built bat houses. We have no mosquitos up here because there's so many bats. Nice. They eat all the mosquitos. That's a beautiful thing. But also, at the end of the night, they come, they hang out in our breezeway, and they digest it all hundreds of pounds of mosquitos. Directly onto the walkway, which Bobby Bobby just got a bat poop blower. Yeah, it's kind of like a leaf blower, but it's for bat poop. Bat poop. Nice. Isn't it an appliance specifically for guano? Is that true? Yeah, it's iguana Eric guana 3000. Well, why are bats the only animals that poop guano? Is that true? So wait, what do penguins poop? Well, you know what, but I'm realizing now, this is the quiz we should have been playing. We're gonna give this poop is it? I mean, when you're talking about a finale. So this Internet is telling me that juano is specifically for bats and seabirds. Hey. Oh, right. Thank you. Wow. We another. Yeah. So we have a very fun audio quiz for you called VIP voices. Oh. We are going to play you a past clip of an ask me another VIP, which means a very important puzzler. And you are just going to listen to the audio clip and you're going to tell us who you think it is. This is where it's really bad that I remember faces. The visual learner is going to have some problems right now. I think you'll be surprised. Okay. So let's play a clip and we're going to go back and forth. Kristin, this one is for you. This gets joined us in 2015. He came back from outer space to recite the lyrics to Taylor Swift's song, blank space. Screaming, crying, perfect storms. I can make all the tables turn rose garden filled with thorns, keep you second guessing like oh my God who is it? That's Patrick Stewart. That is correct. Absolutely. That is amazing. Right? Yes. I mean, he could basically turn anything to make it sound like she was just a phonebook and I would pay a $100 to see it. I mean, I remember many things about when he came on the show. But he, at the time, lived in Brooklyn. And so he walked to the venue, which is just a funny thing to think of. All right, Bobby, this guest starred in the Netflix series Russian doll and she joined us in 2016 to tell us what she keeps in her bag. I always carry a spare pair of panties. Smart. Sunglasses and prescription glasses. Right. And cigarettes, lighter backup lighter, MetroCard, $20, AmEx.

"Berta. Volt from more than one. Hundred and fifty million years ago and then explosively diversified culminating in more than ten thousand species distributed worldwide. Today are human. Relationship to beds is complex to seen as spirit messengers of the gods and at the same time. We took the wild red jungle fowl. From india and selectively bred into domesticated chickens the now farmed in cages feathers have been used for thousands of years and indigenous headpieces and at the same time but has like parrots and parakeets a kept as pets bird poop called guana was used as the first fertilize of modern agriculture. And charles darwin study of galapagos finches was to the formulation of evolution. Buds are all around us. We are closer to bed than any other wild animals birds. I literally and figuratively are canaries in the coal mine. Their wellbeing is our wellbeing threats to buds range from habitat loss including logging climate change industrial farming with pesticides invasive species and even cats. These will had a devastating impact on the bird populations of the us and canada. Which in just the last fifty years have declined by. Three billion birds danton insane. Thirty percent of all birds gone. Three billion pez of wings have vanished ever across our continent from sea to shining sea. Luckily birds have strong allies in their corner. There an estimated sixty million active bird watches in the us alone and with the pandemic shutting down so much of our country. We have flocking to bird watching like never before everything from bird feeders. To binoculars have been in short supply and this year the birding app e bird collected more sightings in a single day the was admitted during the first two and a half years of the apps existence. I must admit coming late to the bird-watching pardee. But thanks to dr meredith williams. That's about to change. I'm lucky enough to work with meredith every day in her role. Running one of the most important and complex agencies in california governor. The department of toxic substance control. Dr williams received two undergraduate degree from yale and a doctorate in physics from north carolina. State university meredith then worked and silicon valley fortune. Five hundred companies in the technology consumer product and chemical sectors meredith left the private sector to follow her passion for wetlands and birds and led the san francisco estuary institute as we'll hear. Meredith journey is about so much more than her resume. Meredith nine meet apt get ready for my maiden watching invention merit so we're about to go hopefully bed watching what. What do we need to bring with us while like what. What's what's in the bird watching backpack almost nothing. Which is great binoculars. Of course are your starting point. So i hope you have some inaugurals. I know you were looking for some recently. You gave me some good advice. But i get any but we all kind of professional but what just like you would have an extra pair. Do thought so. It's in the office but we could stop on the way out of town. Not of that sound. No we should. We should yeah. You just kind of out now. Okay okay so you got the binoculars. How do you if you're starting out. It's surprising how good have gotten very affordable these days so i mean it's still a lot to invest but ask a bird watcher. They might have an extra pair. That's the first place you might wanna try like them. What do you well. first of. All there are lots of different kinds of birdwatchers in terms of some people. Want to count every burden get really long list. And they track every single birthday they see. It's about the numbers of the that very unique bird and they chase vagrant birds that fly in unusually and they're rushing off to see that bird so there those kind of bird watchers I'm a bird watcher. Just watch one bird for a long time. I liked bird behavior. just i'm just fascinated by them. And i think they're beautiful so i could just end up watching one bird for for quite a while you can just take it. In at whatever level you want in terms of the variety birds that you could see and how you would just experience them and enjoy them. So and i think the only way to find that out is to bert. Watch a little and see what grabs you What you do sounds really peaceful. The first thing that sounds the first thing sounds more. Like in england as a whole breed of people go train spotters and i always kind of identified them with bird watchers. Like it's really about. How many things. You've you've been able to capture and less about the bird the thing that you'll doing just sounds like being a peaceful will watching another animal even the people who are energized. That way unless they're doing a big day which would be a day when they map it out to see as many birds as they can. In a single day they're not necessarily rushing around even they are going to have moments of really enjoying a bird and even somebody like me chased around golden gate park looking for a rare warbler. That's very rarely in san francisco. There's an amiability amongst birdwatchers is really camaraderie. People are so nice. There's always somebody better in terms of being a better bird watcher. Meaning they either can identify birds better or you know they just have a lot of experience for the a little bit about. The ecology and people are so happy to share their information. That it's really wonderful. That's one of the things i like about it. And it tends to be every now and then you get into group and there'll be somebody who's a little loud but by and large the the folks are really kind of it's easy to get in a groove with with birdwatchers and settled and gopher along stroll and see some great birds. But what's there everywhere that it's a it's a big i mean like it huge movement and it's growing apparently it's one of the fastest growing outdoor activities. There is it's it is just kind of crazy places where i been going for ten years and cues to be just me and five or six friends maybe and now parking lot and i think the pandemic has made it even more so where a lot of people. That's how they wanna get outdoors or they've they've just kind of discovering it because they know it is one of the only ways to be outdoors so i think it's going to continue to grow which i think is great because then more people are connected to the natural world which obviously makes them care about it more. How did you get into meredith like what. What was your journey into bed watching. I mean i liked birds always in the yard growing up in ohio. You know the robbins and the blue jays. There was a hill in town. And i used to ride my bike up in the hill early in the morning and i would always see birdwatchers and i said when i'm old air quotes. I'm going to bird watch. And i kind of that seed was planted but i didn't really bird-watching until my three say in my thirties. I started volunteering for the san francisco. Bay national wildlife refuges. That you know are on the perimeter of the bay. You know them well getting restored a lot of them Back to title harsh. And i when i volunteered i would be doing everything from pulling out. Invasive plants to building shells but there are always birds around and i just became more and more and more fascinated with the birds invested in binoculars and just started creeping in. You join the audubon society and suddenly you're getting news about different outings and the next thing you know you're you're pretty far in foreign now. I'm foreign. I'm not pretty far and have taken a couple bird vacations. Which i think says that. I'm pretty far in. But what do those entail. The longest trip i took was to go to brazil to the pantanal. Which is a very large wetland like the mecca of bud watching their many mecca. It is a mecca over the course of two weeks. We just went out every morning. We get up before sunrise. Be moving by six o'clock at the latest. Usually more like five thirty and we went to a place that's called the parrot crater a giant sinkhole. And it's all a lot of parents live down in the sinkhole. And so you look down. A new parrots lying around in a simple it was tremendous and we ended up seen two hundred different species of birds there along with some giant giant eaters river otter is and it was quite a trip but the birds were spectacular.

"And God forbid it doesn't fall on you. But in iguana, a large they could grow to get to about 5 ft. Long If you include their tail 5 ft and weigh up to £20. I weigh a ton, but if they're falling from a tree £20 dropping on, you could do some serious damage. Now, Guana Guana can't handle the cold weather. Because they're cold blooded. If they're out in the wild there, it's because they were pets that were released that somebody didn't want to go at Iguana anymore s O When the temperature drops below 45 degrees, their bodies go dormant. They appear dead, but they're not. They're still breathing and critical body functions are still operating operating, but they're not moving. The phenomenon mixed with the species. Tendency to sleep in trees can create quite the surprise. For someone in a car or walking under a tree on. It could also be particularly dangerous because the iguanas could fall on your head or come crashing through your windshield. Apparently, this is a thing that happens. Who would even want to deal with that Theoden Jer for the Iguana comes when the temperatures remain in the forties for over eight period for over a period of eight hours when they risked death. I don't know Again like I don't hate iguanas. I don't like them, but I don't hate them. The fact that they could go falling out of trees and more concerned with the potential damage to human life that I am to the damage to the iguana, But I just thought that was funny. Well, because I just caught the story on the wire, and I remember living there when there was snakes falling out of trees, and now there's iguanas fault. You know, Next next thing another Gators. They're just gonna go up in the trees and just start jumping on people. There's just not gonna be anything we're going to be able to do to protect ourselves from the falling reptiles. In the estate of Florida. I just thought that was weird. So any time you're thinking that, you know, man, if for one reason or another I really don't like living in Texas. Just know at least reptiles aren't literally raining down from the sky because That would be worse. No matter what. All right, 10 39 now 2019 House Methods survey, which included more than 4500. US families, fella the average age when this made me sad, average age when kids stop believing in Santa Claus is 8.4 years old. That seems so young. I think my son was still hanging in there at a J. He was on the end. He was on the cusp. His buddies were talking, and he's got an older sister and older siblings while I love him to death or to this horrible I'm the youngest Of my two older brothers, and I don't think you and I might have made it toe three because they told me right off the bat just because especially older brothers are terrible, and they ruin everything but 8.4 years old. That's when kids stop believing in Santa and letting a child believe beyond that age. They say is tricky to navigate. I wanna know if there's an age you told your kid the truth about Santa At what age you thought it was time to cop to things with Santa Claus. Because there's a lot of people who think that as parents, they need to be the ones to jump in and do things But what about you, 100 to 8? W B a P. That's 800 to 8 92 27. So I'll throw it out there because this time tomorrow, Santa will be in his sleigh. Delivering toys to everybody. There's I don't think there's anything wrong with that. They talked to some parents and the basic mindset is that we can't we worry about the trust with our child. We worry that if they find out we lied to them that they're not going to trust us about other things later on in life, and there's a good percentage of parents who feel that Upwards, according to survey upwards of 30% of parents felt that telling telling your kids that there is a Santa Claus Letting your kids experience the magic and God forbid, have a little fun. I mean, people. Kids have too much pressure on them. Now kids, especially now Co vered with the school thing that we've been talking about all night. Kids have too much pressure on themselves on them now. If they can take a moment and one little thing just to hold on to that a little magical. I fail to see a problem with that and 30% through a little more than 30% of parents out there are saying Well, if I start telling my kids fake stories that it lays the foundation for a dishonest relationship, and they may not believe me about other things. Or they may question things I tell them in the future. What the hell kind of relationship do you have with your kids? Your God in heaven. I said I didn't make it that long because I have older brothers but my parents, but everything was from Santa the whole thing. You know, they tried as long as they could, and they pushed. I never once set in my little The most cynical corner dressed all in black plotting the demise of the world going, they lied. They lied to me. There is no set. What else? What else? My kids. You know they didn't go. They didn't just sit down to go. Um Listen, I don't know if I can. I don't know if I could talk to you too anymore because you you told me there was a Santa Claus. There's no standard closeted keys. Just can we let kids be kids for a little while and have a little fun. Get the parents out there. Stop being still tight..

"But some valuable products are less evident and much more off. Putting new research has revealed that the waste produced by sea birds that's right, the poop of sea gulls, pelicans and penguins. Could be worth nearly half a $1,000,000,000 annually. That's because sea bird feces, also known as Guana, Guana Guana can be used as commercial fertilizer. And his vital for contributing nutrients to marine ecosystems. In an effort to raise awareness about the importance of seabirds and conserving their habitats, scientists set out to quantify The contributions of seabirds and illustrates the actual cost of declining seabird populations by valuing their waste. It's not petty cash. It's valued. Its value is estimated at more than $473 million each year and possibly much more, according to a new paper published in the journal Trends in ecology and Evolution. So the poop from sea birds actually is worth about $473 million. Where do I get the seabirds? I mean, they they're Nazi gold. Seabirds are different. They are Siegel's pelicans and penguins. So I mean, I get me over. I mean, I read you the story a while ago. About house like Siegel's are Rather, penguins can shoot their poop for feet. I love the penguin. You know me? I'm a big pain. That's my point. That's like minor heart surgeries, art surgery that someone else is having to endure. I don't know if that's the same. I think it's spun to act like it's a good luck thing. Like just like we had torrential rains on our wedding day, but everyone tells us Hey, it's good luck like no one wants it to pour on your wedding day. But the people who get it spin it like it's good luck. Good time.

There is a town really closest on hill called Betty Chata. And it's this beautiful one of Colombia's most beautiful towns as old colonial town And you can hike from Bechara to a town called Guana along along the communal riots. Like a two hour hike just stunning scenery. Not a difficult hike later when we saw that really Nice family there. Yeah we walked past just like a couple like working on their farm and they invited us in and like we met their chickens gave a bunch of really cold water. How because we were really thirsty? I mean we had to pay for it but you you know. Obviously they need to make a living. That was so nice they were really nice and they showed us the best place to find. The sunset was like this big rock. You can climb on their property. Yeah they're like God so backyard there's a rock and you can see the sunset there and it was so nice that's like that's one of my favorite things about Colombia. We met so many incredibly kind generous people that just like welcomed Nice. And like. We're like hey do you need anything. How can we help? It was Columbia's just such a wonderful place at that point my American walls were still up and so I was like this is a little weird. They're inviting us to their house but like three kilo. All these people are just so excited for you to be there. Yeah so we hiked from Buddy Guana and fun facts so Guana yarn earn Indigenous People in Columbia. They were a culture that kind of stopped existing in history around the fifteen eighty s because they blended in with the Spanish settlers i. I would say that. They weren't settled their colonizers. They came in like blend guns blazing and like wrecked house. which we won't talk about that here? It was terrible but anyway anyway they don't exist anymore but it is something. That's really cool about Colombia. I wish that there's actually a lot of indigenous peoples still to this day. So they're they're referred to as playbook and they comprise over three percent of the country's population. There's actually eighty-seven different indigenous tribes and a lot of them are still alive and well today today and we want to talk about in this episode. But you can like visit them and like you can hire them as your tour guides and get to know them and do home stays and it's really really cool but I got but not something that we're talking about here just thought it was a fun fact and if you do WanNa go to Guana and you don't WanNa do the Elk Amino back. There's a there's a shuttle that you can take from going back to Sun Hill. Yeah and you can actually also stay in by Hamas and the hassle that we stayed in which is called Sam's. VIP hostile has a brother hostile or sister hostel located in Buddy Chato which is really lakewood sibling hostile inclusive but we are not talking about the best that we had inside hill which says we hung out with the staff of Sam of Sam's VIP. They took a whole bunch of us. A whole bunch of people staying there too they Ho and Karaoke. Hey that was the best night. Oh my guy or not. Sure if you're if you don't know what the Hell is. It is the official sport of Columbia. If you ask any Colombian it's basically cornhole cornhole but with gunpowder. Yeah you have a giant slab of mud that you're trying to throw at they Ho. which is this big stone into but they surround the whole with gunpowder water packets so everybody gets drunk and just throws explosives explosion and if that sounds like medalist shit it is? It's bad so so we all got we all got drunk off okay. We didn't get drunk because the the beer that we had was a gala. which is the greatest beer in the world? But it's as alcoholic is water. I think it's like like eighty cents a can. It's great it's cheaper than a bottle of water so everybody was drinking galas and then we decided fuck it. Let's go to Karaoke. Yeah and you you put Richard Your Best Foot forward with your song choice that night. Oh Yeah I did smooth by Carlos Santana Featuring Rob Thomas.

"Yeah. Guana right along the mother, right? Right. Vonnas mother on his mother. So he you know, he had met her at, you know, some, you know. Hi, high falutin to do. Event invite. Right. And ended like later on his team solar again in and then the end. So t- went into the to the to the stall with her and in pushed himself up against Aaron kissed her in full Weiner out stuck in and had sex. They're all in the the dressing. So she said he really did. Penetrate? That's it was very graphic. The. What? Wait, hold on. Okay. I was just a weasel. So go ahead. So he so he's. So then she van took that dress. Hung it up your plastic never watched it. Okay. She said. Right. Never watched it end just left it there in the in the in the bed in the bag in the DNA on it in the and then the guy's the will don't you think you know, in order to prove it, don't you win. You wanna give it over to investigators because I'm sure it will probably still have some of his DNA, you know, even after all these year. Right. And she was like, well, now, now I felt like I wanna I felt I feel like I need it was my fault for doing this and took all blame and everything else. And it was like, wow. Now you're turning to yourself. Into the bad guy Yunos in. I mean, you know it just it sounded like she still had some issues with it. But equally as important though, I think that when she did that comment took away from the credibility issue. You know, Janna I think it's glue little way, from her credibility that she didn't want to say, okay, here's the dress guys. Go ahead. Look at his got Dontrelle DNA on it. You know, they should keep Bill Clinton's right one when, when he did his day. Right. But now she doesn't wanna turn turn that in and, you know, and the image was to blame herself for being, you know, being stupid being too stupid to have gotten into that situation or something like that. Right. And you know, and then, you know, we go back we look again, and Donald Trump says, I never saw the woman before, and then they show picture of him with the woman with his wife and her husband. Right. She's with her husband. Okay. Now, I got jumping meeting, these people at okay, so they had like a double meeting. No, they had a meeting. They actually show the moment when he met her. Okay. Zan, which was I've met or something like that. The gala ever. Yeah. There everybody's dressed up, and she sitting there talking to Donald Trump, and he's, you know, in a black and white glossy, Jan talking her and her husband and vodka is incredibly camera. He can only see the back of vodkas head, but, you know, it's her right ends like what do you mean? You never met before you lying again. Dude. I, I never met before it. Well, here's he is always she wasn't my type. That was the second. That was the second answer. Right. And he just brushes it off a whole come on. Well, first of all, she, she was a blonde when she was younger. Right. What's she's Bonn, and so, you know, skinny tall blonde angle, you know, his tight. What do we need? And you know, but how disappointing that I just wonder what's going on in her head, you know, 'cause I don't get the, the logic about the dress because we know that Monica Lewinsky, you know. Well, she had that a mentor the, the cute woman. I'm talking about anyway. Who had a motive you know in. Geez, seeing basically guided Monica and told her what she needed to do to do it urgently. So there was no way that she was gonna have addressed sitting in with the end higher closet wherever for fifty years. Energy, put dress back on might she could address on and took the picture that was on the cover of the magazine that was wearing just spewed address. Right. Twenty years later that hadn't been washed right allow awhile and she's like, well. Part of my past. I don't wanna I don't wanna drudge up using what are you talking about? You just pulled up just do this man of underneath a bus. Now, you don't want to prove it, right. Say he raped you. That's not that's not fair to him. That's, that's just not. Right. That's ridiculous. I mean, you know so, so nobody this'll be dismissed so simply info easily, you know. Stay away with it. That was just a waste of everybody's time. You know what her little issue about another Boehner fallen out of his closet? So much for that. Yeah. Okay. So but was getting all these things that we looked at six months ago that we would have been arms about. Right. Okay. Get. Okay. That should out of here and unfortunate saying, debt is got to that point, you know saying. I'm interested to see what look like when we have our next president. How much of shit, they'll be able to get away with, because this guy get away with others. You know, the whoever's president Nixon is gonna really those out for a little while while. So have you heard of one? This is funny about scams was trademark. It was a canoe resumes, a Brunetti and is basically how, you know, let's say you have you wanna trademark motherfucker. In fact, I think Kim Kardashian wanted to trademark something about two years ago was a big deal in it. Everybody was like HANA hill. All her mother wants to trademark something. I can't remember what the word is like everybody says it, so you going to say nobody can say that we're now because you wanna trade market. So, but they're saying that, you know, that basically, there's a trademark protection that the federal government, government prohibits prohibits trademarking with say something supposed to be scandalous in moral type words. But, but they won saying that it was unconstitutional. So this company called I think is Brunetti basically. Of has a brand called, f you see Tate of. U. C T. Okay. And, you know, it's a popular brand anyone to trade market. So this. Yes. So made it to the supreme court. I like it to actually I saw that about maybe four years ago. San Francisco, one Powell street cook of years, F, F dot. See you K is like a it's like a fashion f- thought, are you sure is not F. You C T no different one. But research in all this. Okay. You know. And so I'm like, okay, that's interesting. 'cause it looks like it's as puck in. Yeah. I've seen that. But I didn't know it was a clothing brand or anything, but in this, yes. So this case is air Brunetti. He owns the brand, but he founded in nineteen ninety and two thousand eleven to individuals filed intend to use application for the Mark and the original applicants sign that application to Brunetti is, so the Terni examination attorney, trademarks, patents, trademarks refuse to register the Mark based on the lay him at and said it was a compromise. Immoral or scandalous for promotion pronunciation fucked, and it sounds like a bulgar word, but basically. F c u k okay? Okay. And they're probably trying.

"Is warm and hopefully spring allergies are a thing of the past. Now, it's finally time to start planning those Memorial Day into the school year and summer trips. And if you're like me, you can't get to the beach fast enough right now, I grew up at the beach. So it's been a part of me since I can remember. And for some reason, it seems like everyone heads to the beach or maybe the lake for the Memorial Day festivities. I'm more of a beach girl. Lakes, kind of scare me I like moving bodies of water. So I'll be heading to the beach. There's just something about the sound of the ocean. And the salty breeze that calms me and makes me so happy. If you're thinking about planning a last minute trip to the beach, or maybe the lake or another body of water to celebrate Memorial Day or just for summer getaway. You might wanna bring your furry family members along. Now, if you decide to don't stress out bringing you. Dogs on trip. Sounds hectic. But it really doesn't have to be, you know, it's all about planning ahead and making sure you do your research. So you can avoid surprises along the way. Plus this way, you don't have to worry about dog sitters, and you can probably save a little bit of money. So if you've decided on a beach or a lake trip, and you're ready to get down to business and plan the details of your trip. This is the episode for you the first thing you need to think about is. How far you're traveling? And what your preferred mode of transportation is personally I have a rule that if it's more than an eight hour drive. I would prefer to fly. Now, that's not that easy to do with dogs. So I try and drive when I can if I want to bring them along, but that's pretty much my limit for drive time in one day. And that's kind of the ROY created for myself now that doesn't count for actual planned road trips in order to see things along the way that's a little bit different. Obviously when you drive far distances you're able to see and experience things that you wouldn't be able to if you were flying. Now, if you're lucky. Enough to live just a few hours away from vacation destination with a nice body of water to offer and consider yourself very lucky, and you better start planning that trip ASAP. So let's talk about driving since it's most likely the most preferred method of traveling short distances with your dogs, and if he's ever taking your dog in the car, you already know how they do with being in the car for an extended period of time for my dogs. I can't even say that word if I say car the race to the door, and they wait, and they don't forget about it. I don't take them with me. They're still waiting. They want to run outside and jump in the cars fast as possible. So then I started spelling out cer that didn't work because they learn how to spell I can't even say the word go anymore without them thinking that they're going somewhere. It's the craziest thing now some dogs. I know absolutely hate going in the car, they get sick. And they just don't do well in the car at all. And I'm really thankful that my dogs love the car. Now, it could be for a variety of reasons that they don't like it. You know, maybe they associated car ride with the dreaded vet. Maybe they've learned that word. Maybe you trick them by saying they're going to the park, and then you end up at the bat I've actually done that one before or maybe they do get sick. Every time they go for a car ride. Now, this is definitely something to consider when making your travel plans, I would suggest doing some test rides head of time. You know, if you're unsure about how your dog might act small short trips are probably the best thing to do. Okay. So before you do your test rides. Make sure you have the proper quite ready out. Depending on your dog size. There are several options out there for making sure that your dog stay safe in the car their seatbelts. There's carriers that are designed for smaller dogs. And of course, there's the standard crate if you have a larger dog, I would recommend a seat belt or maybe putting them in a crate. And my advice is to go by what your dog is used to doing at home. If your dog is used to being in a crate them bring his or her crate in the car, if he or she is used to roaming free will then might need to get them used to being restrained for safety. So make sure you test it out, maybe bring it into the house, if it's a car carrier bring it to the house, let them sniff it maybe put some treats inside of it. Let them check it out get used to it. So it's not so alarming. The best way to do. This is to make sure you choose restraint that is appropriate for their size and weight if you have a larger dog seatbelt harness. It's probably best just make sure you're putting him or her in the back seat as buckling dogs in the front seat could be dangerous if you get into an accident and the airbag deploys that's kind of scary. To about. And this is a good time to mention that allowing your dog to roam free is a really bad idea. So if you're head now for a long road trip, just make sure that they're secured, you know, we're all probably guilty of it at some point. It's really not safe for anyone including you as the driver and small dogs. They can fit anywhere in the car, which is really scary because they could slip down by the pedals, which is so dangerous and just the distraction in itself is not good. And we all love our dogs. And we want them to be in our laps. But it's just not safe. So just make sure that they are secured. And if they have a tendency to get motion sickness, make sure you're contacting your vet before you leave ask them for suggestions K. There could be something that they they want you to try out. But there's also medication. It's also a good idea not to feed them right before you get into the car. Hey, you don't want them to have a full tummy because that could really lead to some sickness, even if they don't have a tendency to get sick in the car. Now in order to keep your pups entertained in the car, you'll need to be ready with their favorite toys and treats, I may end up sleeping the whole time. But you just never know. So it's a good idea to be prepared. And I'll share some easy ideas for treats in the car later on. Okay. So now that we're good with the car ride part of the trip. Let's talk about the accommodations once you arrive at your destination. This is the part you really have to plan for doing research ahead of time really comes into play right now. I know I've mentioned it before. But the website bring Fido dot com is an excellent resource. I use it all the time for planning trips. Even if it's just an outing for the afternoon, it's a really great idea to plan ahead to see where the dog friendly attractions. Hotels restaurants, you can search by city, and it's really a great website. It's laid out very nicely and easy to navigate, and it's a must if you're planning to take your dog anywhere, especially long distances. And the last thing he wanted to do is be stuck somewhere that isn't dog friendly. And let's be honest if they don't allow dogs. I mean who wants to go there anyway. Right. So whether you're staying with a family or booking a hotel. You have to plan ahead when bringing her dog there's so many things to consider when you add the dog component to traveling. Just be sure you call ahead and verify that the police you're staying allows dogs, and if they do just be sure to ask if they require a pet deposit, just so you know, how to time, and you know, how much to budget for also they may have size or breed policy. So keep that in mind and make sure that you ask a lot of questions if you're staying with family members or friends be sure to prepare them for your free guest, you're bringing along you don't want to just show up with your dog or dogs. Be sure to know what pets they have at home as well. You know, if they have dogs or cats themselves or any other animals who knows what kind of pets people have, you know, a Guana birds you need to know that ahead of time. And if your dog doesn't get along with these animals, make sure you're prepared for that situation as well. You know, it's always a good idea to bring a crate or some type of enclosure for your dog when you're traveling. And there are some really neat things out there like pop up tents, like soft sided tents that will collapse really good for traveling that way, you don't have to worry about your dog not having their own space when you're away from home. You know, they might wanna just kinda take a break from all of the excitement and retreat to their little tent and again, just like with the car carrier. It's a really good idea to get them used to that at home because they're already going to be nervous being away from home. You want to make sure everything is for millier as possible. So bring those things in ahead of time. You know, if you go out to the store and buy one or order online, make sure you do it ahead of time. So they know what that thing is. They don't want to be surprised and that would probably cause a little bit of anxiety on top of being nervous about traveling. So just get them used to it ahead of time. All right. So you've arrived at your destination in one piece. Hopefully that's.

They don't want to be surprised and that would probably cause a little bit of anxiety on top of you know, being nervous about traveling. So just get them used to it ahead of time. All right. So you've arrived at your destination in one piece. Hopefully that's.

"It is already FDA approved and it in it seems to enhance the ability of only go Denver sites to protect themselves and to decreases, the loss of my Mylan, but the the side effects every you gotta read the fine print and Guana Ben's side effects can cause drowsiness weakness headache, dry mouth and even coma. So yeah, researchers like let's look a little bit further lot Guana Benz line. They found a derivative of Guana Benz they call seven one as he P H I N one and seven one stands for selective inhibitor of a whole oh fos phase. And this compound seems to do fundamentally what gonna Benz was doing protecting all ago Denver sites by boosting. What's called the integrated stress response that protects cells from in inflow inflammatory inflammatory damage, and it has fewer side effects, so fewer side effects, and they gave it to mice that had a mouse version of multiple sclerosis, and there didn't seem to any be any negative negative effects to the mice. And there was a lessening of the D Mylan. Is myla nation and more only good under sites were protected, and so the MS in these mice did not progress as quickly, and so this is what researchers are potentially going to start looking at as maybe adding it to interfere on which is a multiple sclerosis drug. That's used to fight inflammation. So maybe if they mix these things together, maybe we'll see some really good avec. So down the road. We'll see where it goes. But there is amazing progress being made no cure yet still treating the symptoms for the most for large part. But I don't know that whole immune system reset seems like for some people. It could be a cure of sorts. We'll see where it goes. What do you have? Also, if it's a cascade of it where the failure here leads to affiliate there, which prevents this revenue. Even even being able to prevent the symptom as as as we feel as though that's not actually curing could possibly prevent a lot of the other symptoms from ever showing up if they are inter related in that way. Yeah. And it altern is is about as close to here we really ever get. When it comes to cures is halting all rest the symptoms that happen after a certain point of discovering. Yeah. And I really do think with these auto immune diseases. It's kind of that cascade effect where inflammation gets started and the body reacts to the wrong thing, and then his sensitized to it. And it just keeps attacking the wrong thing. And it gets worse and worse and worse because there's there's there's at a certain point. There's no backing up from it after a certain threshold. So if you can stop that from occurring. The amazing. It will be amazing. This is this week and science Justin you have some science. Do okay. There's something lurking in the genetic history of some humans something ancient and mysterious is in our DNA. No, it's not. Yes. There are calls and ISA vents and a lot of humans. And if you dial it back for the we find more far flung hominy intermingling that took place. Some current humans modern humans often like to be called have descendants that are of an unknown species. According to a new study sort of. This is quoting voice. This is I can't say his first name. But his last name is Bertrand petite Bertrand petite as a principal principal investigator at the institute of evolutionary biology says about eighty thousand years ago, these so called out of Africa occurred when part of the human population, which already consisted of modern humans, abandoned, the African continent and migrated to other continents giving rise to all the current populations. Except for those who didn't leave Cody voice somewhere. We know that from that time onwards modern humans cross bred with Neanderthals in all the continents, which actually isn't quite trimming date. People of all the continents did at some point into with Mantos, but it didn't necessarily interbred with them on on all the continental. Yeah. Buying. Buying. The America's there's no. Reading on that continent, but the peoples who did populate the Americas were did it some point in their breed with I said that right? Okay. So and also except for Africa, and and with the the Nissans in Oshii anion and probably south East Asia..

"The details of your trip. And that's kind of the ROY creative for myself now that doesn't count for actual planned road trips in order to see things along the way that's a little bit different. Obviously when you drive far distances you're able to see and experience things that you wouldn't be able to if you were flying. Now, if you're lucky. Enough to live just a few hours away from vacation destination with a nice body of water to offer then consider yourself very lucky, and you better start planning that trip ASAP. So let's talk about driving since it's most likely the most preferred method of traveling short distances with your dogs, and if he's ever taking your dog in the car, you already know how they do with being in the car for an extended period of time for my dogs. I can't even say that word if I say car, they raced to the door, and they wait, and they don't forget about it. I don't take them with me. They're still waiting. They want to run outside and jump in the cars fast as possible. So then I started spelling out cer that didn't work because they learned how to spell. I can't even say the word go anymore without them thinking that they're going somewhere. Maybe you trick them by saying they're going to the park, and then you end up at the vet. I've actually done that one before. Or maybe they do get sick. Every time they go for a car ride. Now, this is definitely something to consider when making your travel plans, I would suggest doing some test rides ahead of time. If you're unsure about how your dog might act small short trips are probably the best thing to do. Okay. So before you do your test rides. Make sure you have the proper ready out depending on your dog size. There are several options out there for making sure that your dog stay safe in the car their seatbelts. There's carriers that are designed for smaller dogs. And of course, there's the standard crate if you have a larger dog, I would recommend a seat belt or maybe putting them in a crate. And my advice is to go by what your dog is used to doing it home pay. If your dog is used to being in a crate them bring his or her Creighton the car if he or she is used to roaming free. Well, then you might need to get them used to be restrained for safety. It's probably best just make sure you're putting him or her in the back seat as buckling dogs in the front seat could be dangerous if you get into an accident and the airbag deploys that's kind of scary to think about and this is a good time to mention that allowing your dog to roam free is a really bad idea. So if you're heading now for a long road trip, just make sure that they're secured, you know, we're all probably guilty of it at some point. It's really not safe for anyone including you as the driver and small dogs. They can fit anywhere in the car, which is really scary because they could slip down by the pedals, which is so dangerous and just the distraction and itself is. Is not good. And we all love our dogs. And we want them to be in our laps. But it's just not safe. So just make sure that they are secured. And if they have a tendency to get motion sickness, make sure you're contacting your vet before you leave asked them for suggestions K. There could be something that they they want you to try out. But there's also medication. It's also a good idea not to feed them right before you get into the car. Hey, you don't want them to have a full tummy because that could really lead to some sickness, even if they don't have a tendency to get sick in the car now in order to keep your pups entertained in the car, you'll need to be ready with their favorite toys and treats, I may end up sleeping the whole time. But you just never know. So it's a good idea to be prepared. And I'll share some easy ideas for treats in the car later on. Okay. So now that we're good with the car ride part of the trip. Let's talk about the accommodations when she arrived at your destination. This is the part you really have to plan for doing research ahead of time really comes into play right now. I know I've mentioned. It before. I mean who wants to go there anyway, right? So whether you're staying with a family or booking a hotel. You have to plan ahead when bringing her dog there's so many things to consider when you add the dog component to traveling. Just be sure you call ahead and verify that the police you're staying allows dogs, and if they do just be sure to ask if they require a pet deposit, just so you know, how to time, and you know, how much to budget for also they may have a size or breed policy. So keep that in mind and make sure that you ask a lot of questions if you're staying with family members or friends be sure to prepare them for your free guest, you're bringing along you don't want to just show up with your dog or dogs. Be sure to know what pets they have at home as well. You know, if they have dogs or cats themselves or any other animals who knows what kind of pets. People have a Guana czar birds you need to know that ahead of time. And if your dog doesn't get along with these animals, make sure you're prepared for that situation as well. It's always a good idea to bring. A crate or some type of enclosure for your dog when you're traveling. You wanna make sure everything is familiar as possible. So bring those things in ahead of time. You know, if you go out to the store and buy order one online, make sure you do it ahead of time. So they know what that thing is. They don't want to be surprised and that would probably cause a little bit of anxiety on top of you know, being nervous about traveling. So just get them used to it ahead of time. All right. So you've arrived at your destination in one piece. Hopefully that's.
