Deshaun Watson endorses Houston Texans' potential Antonio Brown pursuit, even if the franchise hasn't shown interest
"Brown now, so there was some videos of him working out with Russell Wilson earlier this offseason. We've seen Antonio Brown working out with Lamar Jackson. Now to the Texans, maybe have some interest. We know their quarterback DeShaun Watson looks interested. Shawn Watson responded to a tweet from former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson. And what Shad Johnson tweeted a B to the Texans would like a prayer. Emoji link, I guess praying it happens. And this John Watson's tweet was basically a Mame of you know, Drake looking like, Really, I'm intrigued. I got intrigued type of look. Here's the reality. But the Texan sign Antonio Brown, then shame on Bill O'Brien. You cannot justify signing a bee in the same off season that you shipped away DeAndre Hopkins for nothing for David Johnson's contract in a second round pick, You cannot trade away the game's best wide receiver and then bring in a guy like Antonio Brown. Who is a locker room cancer. You can't do it. You can't justify it. Let's ignore the off the field stuff with a B and the suspension that's likely coming to the guy. Let's just talk about what he did the last year and 1/2. From alienating himself in Pittsburgh and missing a winner Go home Week 17 game. You then going to the Raiders and hurting himself by freezing his foot off. So then having an issue with the NFL helmet rule. To getting into with Mike. May I threatening to punch the guy? You secretly recording Jon Gruden. And then releasing a video after the Raiders finally released him and maybe be like I'm free. I'm free as it playing for the Raiders, making $15 million was, you know being kept in, you know. Unlivable conditions that Antonio Brown was in such a terrible life situation. He's finally free. That's what you get on the field, or, I guess technically off the field with the Raiders last year. We all know about the alleged crimes, and this guy has committed the lawsuit she's dealing with, so he's facing a suspension and you're the Texans and you're going to sign Antonio Brown Anthea traded away, arguably the game's best wide receiver. Who has never been and off the field malcontent who has always done the right thing in the Houston community, You can't sell Texans fans on Antonio Brown. If you traded away, DeAndre Hopkins, you just can't do it. Why would you trade away Hopkins to take a chance on Abie, who's facing a suspension? And we all know at some point Something's going to go wrong because it always goes wrong. For Antonio Brown. I mean, you cannot At any under any circumstance signed this guy. When everything we've heard from Bill O'Brien is he wants character guys, Bill O'Brien's cliche lines in every press conference. I've been out with him smart, dependable, reliable, tough football players. That's what we want. Antonio Brown is the opposite of every trade Bill O'Brien says he wants to be the biggest hypocrite. GM Bill O'Brien signs Antonio Brown. You can't do it. You just can't I don't care. Baby wants to play for nothing that sends the wrong message to the entire locker room. You traded DeAndre Hopkins. You gotta live with that. You deal with brains and cooks. You have will fuller Let's go figure it out. Yeah. Kenny Stills, Kiki cuties motivated to come back and play well in his third season. You made your bed now you gotta lie in it. Bring in Antonio Brown when there's going to be a condensed training camp. You think this guy's gonna follow social distancing guidelines? No shot Antonio Brown. We had every strip club in Houston by week three. It's called for what it is. He's the last guy the Texans need right now. That's the type of signing that alienated the entire locker room.
Brewing with Fire: Carillon Brewing Company
"We also of course had to talk about the brewery itself which as I mentioned at its heart is one giant fire. This multi story brick fireplace essentially takes up one entire side of the Carillon brewing building in full view of the rest of the restaurant. Now if you're having trouble imagining that you're gonNA want to check out some of the pictures we put up on our website at the feast podcast Dot Org to appreciate an full. But if you haven't had a chance to check them out yet imagine a giant multistorey brick fireplace with a giant fire at the bottom level and yet another fire going on up top now. Needless to say this giant fireplace needs constant attention. A fire essentially has to be going at all times to keep the operational and well. It's a fulltime job so this is kind of crazy but we basically we opened up in August of two thousand fourteen As part of just a bigger living history exhibit for the larger part of Carolina's horrible parks. We had not talked about the eighteen fifties Dayton other areas of the park. So that was one of the reasons. Why chose the team fifty to replicate here in the brewery and the other reason was that we hadn't told the story of German immigration and Dayton. It's kind of a changing city in the eighteen fifties. We had new transportation routes that were opening up the Miami Erie Canal which runs right through. Caroline Historica Parker would have run through there when it was active was at its height by the fifties in Dayton In the later fifties the railroad finally came into town. So you start to see industrialization coming into this region Prior to that beer was being gruden has been done thousand years but beer wasn't being made on a commercial scale in the city of Dayton Until the eighteen fifties prior to that most of the beer is being home the housewife just a chore like any other and a essentially as safer source of hydration than the drinking water was often as a source of nutrition categorically Sosa Nutrition and the finished products is actually a fairly sterile product. Once it's produced that actually nothing really wants to live in it that's going to harm said so severe is important but by the eighteen fifties you start to see these purpose built industrial commercial brewing setups. coming up and so we replicated this building off of those early gravity fed. Industrial Brewers So what we're standing in is our brew house right now which relocated giant three tiered brick fireplace that. Actually it's not just one single heat source that has four different fire boxes free of which he parts of the brewing process one of which is a wood fired oven that we do our spangler and sour dough bread baking and about three or four days a week so dan is up there right now trying to get the fire going so we can go upstairs law. Show you everything. Here gets fermented in American White Oak barrels a little unique compared to a modern brewery which is using stainless steel and our pre. Kettles are copper. In Ohio by company called The Sun. So we had to have commissioned. You have three kettles up here kind of breaking down. The brewing process where essentially heating up water taking malted grain screens that have been sprouted and then dried trying to get the starches in the enzyme generated that can break down starch into sugar. By the malting process. We take those grains mill them in a stone mill here on site Bring them up to the top of the fireplace and we take our hot water. Mix It with the grains steep them for about an hour break those starches inside the grains this complex sugars down into simple sugars and then we'll translate into a third kettle which is directly heated by fire. That will be our boil pedal so once we start boiling. The words is liquid. That will become beer. That sugary liquid from the grain We add hops to it For most recipes we can add other ingredients like in our case coriander AOL that has coriander seed and Chili pepper. we do a squash. Butternut squash added to it so it can do a lot of different things in the boyle in terms of getting flavor into the beer. Of course boiling is what you're safely drink in water once we're done with that will cool the liquid down through a big cooling coil and then we'll ultimately end up in our barrels or or liberal. So it's a big process but we have these three giant copper kettle ones. One hundred gallons are Mash Tun. Excuse me is not directly heated but it is surrounded by so it's insulated so it can uphold that heat during the mash brought us and then our boil. Kettles his wealth can ask questions. You mentioned that it's handling rain. Who GETS THE QUARTERBACK? So that's a little bit in the beginning for the first about three years. We did have a mill that it's kind of funny it was a it was a steel roller mill which is a little bit more modern but housed in a kind of a historic looking setup and that was hand cranked so we actually were hanged cranking one hundred fifty pounds of grain every day for brewing process. That's like an intern. Yes exactly so volunteers. So there's three of us they get paid to do this full-time and we have about twelve men and women who actually come in and help us grew so those on tears are awesome and they help us do a lot of that kind of grunt work but we have since installed a stone mill in here with a little bit more appropriate to the eighteen fifties however that stone mill was designed to be hand cranked. We handmade the gears actually our presidency. Oh built that. He's a pretty skilled. Woodworker and with the gearing ratio. We found that the momentum of those large stones would actually kept the crank arm flailing on its own for about fifteen minutes so a little bit unsafe to you so right now we have a stone mill. That's unfortunately powered by electricity. It's kind of a mishmash so every once in a while we have to kind of put a little bit more modern twist on things just to keep things a little bit safer. But we'll hall up about anywhere between one hundred and a hundred and fifty pounds for per batch and we're a two barrel system so we we make about all things said and done about forty five gallons at finish beer of one batch so and I mean as far as your your other ingredients I mean hops obviously classic ingredient. Where are you sourcing Your House? So we get them from all over unfortunately still moat. The majority of hops are used for the brewing industry in America on the West Coast. So you're Valley Lamb valley places like that over in Oregon Washington and just interested you know from the nineteenth century. Perspective brewers who were working in Ohio Dayton in eighteen fifty would. They've been getting hops from Ohio. Where having from Wisconsin or west coast right so they were growing hops in Ohio for sure so in the eighteen fifties. It was kind of the opposite from now. We'll get them from. The West does in the fifties New York. State UPSTATE NEW YORK. Kind of in the cooper sound area was one of the biggest hop growing region for America Wisconsin but eating sixties with a huge hop growing regions. Ohio state have a significant hop culture? Well brewers would have been getting locally if they could but you also like you talked about earlier with the industrialization of brewing because of those transportation routes he could get hops from all over the place. A lot of brewers were importing hops from Europe from Germany and England. So can apprised tops. Like Hallertau in east can buildings Kim from overseas and so they would ship them and they would bring him in to those transportation route so they could get them smaller. So I mean there's still a little is brought to a certain extent. And then you know your your coriander seed and then you mentioned butternut squash. She kind of what brought you to those ingredients for the historical inspired. Imagine yet definitely so we spent about a year doing research prior to this facility being open just to figure out what we should be brewing. How To brew it? What equipment we needed but we need to build all those things and so we were talking about the year eighteen fifty here which is kind of the very beginning of industrialization for brewing in Dayton. We also have one foot in that early industrial style which would have been a little bit beers that were more used to today or credit more. Commercial Beers. Don't have all those crazy ingredients in them and then one flight back in the eighteen thirties housewife brewing methods. So we find a lot of these recipes. Coriander Ale came from A receipt book Recipe Book from the Eighteen Thirties so it was published in Cincinnati Ohio and it was basically a manual for how to raise a family. Todd receives proper seats for the Husband Minute Housewife Cincinnati. There's a chapter of the book of Brewing Essential part of raising a family and at that time in the eighteen thirties and found listed under the brewery section. Another way to make Ale so there wasn't even a name for it but it just described taking a Bushel of grain and a certain amount of water. Heating it up boiling it to a color which is kind of a funny Whatever that means so that's going to buffer interpretation with that meant back and then a culture coriander seed in Canada Seemed like exotic ingredients. And I think a lot of people think on the frontier wherever people just didn't have anything but then by the eighteen thirties they had the canal system so they could bring in pretty much anything. They want to get so coriander would have been available. They would have been growing slot tro in the and their gardens as well so they could have collected their own grain or seed so Chili Pepper capsicum Chili peppers. So they were bringing those eventually growing them too. So I imagine veterans Washer be something similar like right exactly or or even in the middle of winter. If you didn't have enough grain on hand sometimes these pumpkins. Soi shells even potato or beat. Beer would be dale here as well In January those representative of Beers that you were doing when you run out of grain so you're searching for other starchy from animal sources. And if you had grown wash harvested in the fall you keeping you root cellar and you can take it out and cut up in
Washington Capitals at Minnesota Wild 4-3

Report: Raiders ready to offer Tom Brady two-year, $60 million deal
"The latest is that Jon Gruden and the raiders and Mike Mayock is the GM that I referred to earlier then those dunes are ready to offer Tom Brady a two year sixty million dollar contract that they're ready to give him thirty million dollars a year to try to jump from the New England Patriots to Las Vegas
Patriots QB Brady unfazed by unsettled future
"Patriots Brady unfazed by his unsettled future nor is going to do great all the rumblings was going to end up the the price will stay in New England thank you want the opportunity scenery and so we'll keep an eye on that we talk about that let you study anything new yeah yeah except to say that you know you look in the charger the incredible object will get him out there somewhere out of that one more than elodie so I'm of that will be you know conducive to him or not I had heard that the writers may go after putting up in Vegas with his wife in the living room of the new statement also you and Jon Gruden not expressly I don't think even dared to have their cars so you might be looking for a quarterback change so I don't know who's to say we talked last week about Brady made one of the cowboys so it's all of the new year but I think it's all about but now if he was going to say knowing when it would come out for that okay let's re worker contract almost a year on the prism occurs a pager he's not done that so I think you shop with them and I'll be surprised then
NFL: Two head coaching hires in 10 minutes
"The draft before the combine. We still have several weeks. NFL Action to go. We have some new coaches join. Join the NFL. As recently as this afternoon and joining me to talk about that and the playoff games is our friend with the Atlantic Lindsay Jones Lindsay. How are you? I'm good oh how are you. I'm good I thought this was going to be kind of a quiet day in the NFL landscape and then suddenly to head. Coaching hires in the matter of ten minutes. This morning Matt rule going to the panthers. Joe Judge going to the giants after Mike McCarthy was named cowboys coach earlier this week. So let's start with today's news. Let's start with Matt rule who gets a seven year deal. What sixty seventy million dollars? A lot of money. Samat rule to leave Baylor and come work for the Carolina Panthers. Yeah I mean it sounded like one of those Offers you can't refuse type of situation where I think he's GonNa have a lot of power he's also got a lot of money and A lot of years to do To do what the panthers to do. It's not quite a Jon. GRUDEN ten years one hundred million dollar type of deal but David Tepper is showing that he is not afraid to spend a lot of money to invest very heavily in his head coach and head coach You know when everything else that they're doing I mean they're building a brand new practice facility. They're building the indoor facility. I mean they're spending a lot of money Darren Charlotte and you know I. It was interesting that there was kind of story that also came out. The rule wanted to kind of bring that offer back to the giants Because he was going to interview with the giants as well but The giants said okay. We're going to hire JOE judge instead of paying Instead of hiring not rule it six years seventy million dollars or whatever it is so Really really interesting. Move there Bell what are you. What was your initial? Take on it. I guess and then I'll I'll go with yours it. I think it's interesting in that. I'm not gonNA pretend that I am someone who has watched every Baylor game this year. I've watched a little bit and I've read up a Matt Rule Essay coaching candidate. Now for the past two years of course rule was very very nearly the jets head coach last year before jazz blocked him hiring his own offensive coordinator which point he stepped out of that process and they hired Adam Gates move. That has worked out brilliantly for the jets of course in the afterward with that rule. I think there are certainly elements of a a run first attack. I think he is not someone who is seen as a a progressive offensive minded. They've run EARNHARDT Peos this year. He has seen that as sort of a you know. I can't deal with the devil to run as much of the rushing game as he wants to and I think that's very interesting given what we have. In Carolina we have Christian McCaffrey who's entrenched is the best running back in football at the moment. We Have Cam Newton who I think you know certainly seems like this offer. This higher would probably be good for him in a way back for him in a way. Oh you know good in that. The run first attack does seem to favor can if he can be a player who does impact game with his leg. Still which we don't know coming back from injury but it's pretty clear that you know if Matt rule wants to move on from Cam Newton. He's going to have plenty of time to move on and higher higher or or or or sign up backup quarterback or assigned a young quarterback or draft a quarterback and give that guy a time to develop so I kind of feel of two minds. It's for this when it comes to the biggest decision for the second the second biggest decision the panthers have to make this office and I don't know how you feel about do you do. What does this mean for you for Cam Newton? Yeah I I think the first thing is just how healthy is he gonNA be. What's his time? Line going to be like their That's the thing that just is over everything and has been over everything for the panthers for going on two years now I still think he's GonNa be back and and I've been I've been thinking about this a lot over the last few few days I've been writing about brees and Brady and thinking about all of the potential quarterback moves that we're gonNA see the offseason and well this time of year. It's really fun fun to speculate about. All the potential moves and this year is more interesting than any quarterback off season that I can remember and maybe ever certainly certainly as long as my nfl institutional memory is But ultimately moving on from a quarterback and guy who's taking you to a super bowl who's won an MVP Without some sort of really solid plan in place is it's a really hard at it. It's so rare that it happens so ultimately I think he ends up being back. I think he's there's so many things that you can do with him if he's going to be healthy but that if he's going to be healthy is just the biggest question that's been out there and We're not going to know that for a couple abundance I guess the good news is that they don't have to make that move or decision on Cam Newton. Today I mean they they really can can wait a couple of months but ultimately. I think that there are better team with him. And the options outside of him are just not that great. I mean. There's some intriguing names out there but I just think I don't think you're GonNa do better than Cam. Newton Can A new. There's even seventy five percent of the quarterback that he was in two thousand fifteen when he was at his peak. Yeah or even the guy who was playing well in the first half of two thousand eighteen. I think that can traffic is still really good There's a definitely interesting sort of dichotomy with that rule or I guess not a paradox. In that he is a very conservative. Very first coach. But we've we've seen in the report effortless. Hire one of the reasons that the panthers were able to Land Matt run into the panthers was because they're making a huge investment in sports science. You mentioned the practice facility being built there. I mean it seems like it's a you know. This is the the beginning of a major infrastructure shift for the panthers to being an organization that they wanNA emulate the steelers and they wanna be simultaneously Eh analytics friendly at the same time so I think it was going to be a really interesting sort of narrow path to hit their where they are a run for his team which is typically considered to be sort of a antiquated or old school notion but making it work and so I think in the long run. They might end up being more similar to the Ravens. Who seemed to embody all those things right now in the steelers? Yeah I mean that's absolutely the franchise right now that you want to emulate if you look at WHO's doing it the best right now from both play on the field but also what they're doing inside their building and the the mindset that they have with the type of people that they hire The way that they make all their decision I think it's the Ravens and I guess that comes from the steelers family and that's so so that's what he's familiar with. But I think the other thing that we we didn't talk about was not rule that we just really have to mention. Is that while we can talk about schematics. And look at his Ex's knows and yes he's run I but you know what college offenses he bringing those sorts of things. I think the biggest reason that he was this really hot. NFL Coaching candidate over the last two years. This is his reputation. That's kind of a program builder and The work that he did at temple the way that he really kind of overhauled Baylor over the last two the three years when they were really a disaster The the way he interacts with players You know he brought his father and his former pastor and coach and you know I just think that Dad's what made him so attractive in addition to obviously like the the the skills that he has. It's an actual you know coach but You know I think we get so caught happen. Like what exactly is this. Guy's offense going to look like or what exactly is this guy's defense gonNa look like when really what owners and management are looking at is. What's this Guy's vision? How is he going to interact after everything everybody in the building? How does he relate to players What is his vision? All those sorts of things not really why they came out rule You know a bunkers you you know seventy million dollar contract Jack. Think that's very fair and I think that's really what they're bringing matt rule to do. I mean this is a guy who they think is going to overhaul everything about the panthers. The culture is going to change not that rhinovirus culture was bad. Obviously it worked for a long time but I think you know this is going to be a eighteen. An organization top to bottom built in in the vision of Matt Rule on the other side of things You think about the hiring. The giants made today in Joe Judge who granted. I think there's been that those sort of initial tweets coming out the wide receivers coach. He's really special teams coach. He is not good for one year. He has been the Patriot special teams coach for a long time. He has worked under Bill Bell. Check US worked under Nick Sabin. Those are pretty successful people to work underneath and yet it sort of seems like not. Maybe this is wrong to say but it seems like this higher is out of nowhere. Is that fair to say a little bit. I mean he was.
Redskins introduce Ron Rivera as head coach
"The redskins officially named Ron Rivera their new head coach yesterday. Washington Fire Jay Gruden on route. Two a three and thirteen season the Redskins have not won a playoff game since two thousand five. That was when Joe Gibbs was their head coach Washington looking for some of the stability ability that Rivera brought to Carolina. The Panthers never won a title. They did reach the playoffs. Four Times under coach Rivera including a super bowl trip in two thousand fifteen. The redskins last made the Super Bowl in nineteen ninety-one and in a matter of moments the redskins will introduce Ron Rivera as the new head coach. You can see see. They are getting ready now in the nation's capital and as we wait for coach Rivera. I'll ask you this. What do you want to hear this afternoon? I think from Ron Rivera. I I just want to hear why he was attracted active to this job. Several Head coaching vacancies out there. And and why he took this job and and presumably so quickly when there could be potential other openings out there even in Dallas as we wait for that one and then secondly I wanna hear his evaluation or just thoughts overall Dwayne Haskins in what he might be thinking with regards to the offensive coordinator position. Since we're thinking that he's going to interview the current Guy There Kevin O'CONNELL and and You know what he might be looking being out of the coach from nap position. If he doesn't go with the guy who's currently their jobs I think the the the maturation process of dwayne Hassans is important for this football team. And I think that's the number one issue for Ron Rivera. Moving forward is how do I get my quarterback if he feels doing Haskins is indeed his quarterback How do I get my Guy Ready? Ready available with the right mindset because we do understand doing hasn't silly young player. So how do I get them in the right mindset to be successful in this football league and I'm a little sour about this. I'm a huge huge Ron. Rivera Fan. I sat with them while I was out. During my tenure with the giants was over and I was going to different Teams and sitting down with their coaches. He was the one that struck me. The most is just is a straight shooter. Honest about what. He does with his with his teammates. Everybody loves them. Teammates loving other coaches love. Him and I think he's walking to the podium right now. We'll take Noon I happy Thanksgiving everybody. Today's the beginning of a great new year for the Redskins Organization and its fans I I'd like to thank Bill Callahan. Those here five years did a great job for us a great guy and we really appreciate him with the Redskins have needed is a cultural change. Someone that can bring a winning cultural to organization at starts and ends with our head coach when looking for that man. I looked for a class. Act That's how you describe coach Rivera. He was two time coach of the year. And for those of you. That don't understand. That's very very hard to do. You should google that Because it's impressive oppressive He was fifteen to one which is extremely hard to do Did my research spend a lot of time talking a lot. Allow People A lot of coaches and one thing that came across certain words and these words. We're integrity honesty. Knowledge Grit determination. It's all about winning. Ron Rivera knows how to win as a player player as a coach as a new head coach of the Redskins. One thing. That's very very important. We're GONNA have one voice and only one voice alone and that's the coaches like to welcome. Ron's wife Stephanie. We've gotten over the last few weeks and our new head coach of the Washington redskins coach Ron Rivera. Thank you you know with about thirty days ago that your team. This team got me unemployed. So just so you know. We're good now thank thank you. It's an honor serve as a coach in the NFL. It really truly is their only thirty. Two of us at anyone given time and these jobs are scarce this one the Washington the redskins. This one is special. This is one of the almost original teams started in nineteen thirty two. There's a Lotta history behind football team in order for us to get back to where we WANNA be. We've got a study that history embrace it history and prepared a repeat that history because if not we're doomed to repeat the most recent history. We're not gonNA do that guys. We really aren't everything we do is going to be about winning. Okay we'll do things the right way and that's the only way we're going to do them because if it doesn't help us we're not doing it man that's just as simple as it gets. So why did I choose the REDSKINS. Probably the question. I know a lot of you guys are wondering that right now with everything. That's out there. I can tell you right now. All this talk about the money I want the money I'd still be out there trying to pick a couple teams against each other. I took this job for one. Simple reason one simple reason because because Dan Snyder came to me with a very interesting perspective for weeks he's explored the reasons why some teams win and some teams. Don't he told me. The common. In fact that transitional success of teams like the Patriots the Seahawks and the chiefs. Some of the other ones was that decision to take it and make a coach centered approach each not an owner centered approach or a team president or GM. Coach centered approach. I told Mr Snider that I appreciate the fact that he believes the head coach matters but I would be honored but under one condition it had to be a player centered culture a player center culture. Something I truly do believe in my responsibility to get the most out of the players to work with them teach them mentor them. Five five to one by one. I most certainly. We'll do it. I've done in the past and I'll do it again. I'll do what I can't help. These young men become not just the players we want but the men in the community we need. These are the guys that can help change things not just on the football field but in this world I really do believe that I was fortunate enough to have that in Carolina and I hope I'm a work to have it here. In Washington. Things will begin with one. Simple principle off discipline. I come from a military family. We're disciplined it isn't taught it's live. It's expected from day they won. I have a philosophy every player every coach everyone who works for this organization. They'll know what day one you're not gonNA play for this team. You're not gonNA work visist team if you don't have the discipline to give us everything. You have no exceptions no excuses. That simple guys. We have to hold each other accountable. That's something that we most certainly will do. We'll expect most from each other whether I was in Chicago Carolina with our very best when the players knew. Do the coaches had their backs. And this is the thing I'm going to ask from the players. Do it the way we teach you do it the way we ask you do it that way. The success will be yours. Okay you do it that way accessible be yours if you don't excess is going to be yours but it's not gonNA be right. Why because if you fail it's on you do it our way do it the right way and if we fail it's on me okay? It'll be on me. The head coach at simple. I truly believe that I ask of. You doesn't work I'm to blame. I told Mr Snider. I wanted to assemble coaching staff. That was truly dedicated. The players and teachers and teachers. Okay I don't have to have a great big names would have to have is great teachers. We want to teach these guys how to play football to the best of their abilities to the best of our abilities and also it'd be good quality young men off the field. I want players tough. Hungry will do whatever it takes to play redskin football fall in January and hopefully into February. I told him I wanted to work. Hand in hand with the head of player personnel could spot potential and others that even. I didn't see another didn't see. That's going to be important because it has to be a collaboration no matter who it is no matter. WHO's working with us? It has

"Big Win for the chiefs last night. no doubt about got it and they needed it at have it out of habit. It's in division. It is a road win technically indecision for Kansas City and So check doc box and they needed it but win because guess what. Raiders are out on their heels. Raiders have the same number of losses raiders. Now with the chiefs on their are by week head to New Jersey to take on the jets who have suddenly piece together a couple of wins in a row and this. This will not be easy for Oakland. Oakland and I'm sure gruden will be knocking on wood. If you with me about how difficult you know this Guy Jamal. Adams is and this guy. Darnall just threw four touchdowns but it's a win against a three win team on the road away from tying the chiefs and having a game in in Kansas City with the chiefs coming back from their bye week in week Baker's dozen with the AFC West Online. And I think that's all kinds of delicious. But for the time being the chiefs chiefs did their part to set that up as a possibility the reverse would have been far more difficult for them to handle going into a bye week and sure enough. I was concerned about that turf. There were large chunks of it coming up. tyreek Hill hurt his hamstring. We're assuming zooming he'll be fine after a week off the bye and Mahomes if you told me Christopher Brockman never actually let's flip flip the script if I told you if I told you the dafter Patrick mahomes defending. Mvp of your national the football league that his kneecap was on the side of his right leg. I told you the very next day. Not only would he only missed two games but the chiefs would definitely have him out on the field in Mexico where the game had to be cancelled due to concerns over turf that he would be out there. We would be seeing chunks of turf coming up and he would be the leading rusher of the Kansas City chiefs. What if I told you that fact no chance as what happened sure enough? That's more more more more impressive. Things too is that the chiefs the chiefs only got one hundred. Eighty two passing yards out of mahomes. It was the second least productive night and that statistical category for his entire career the only time in which he has thrown for less in a game was the game I just referred to where the KNEECAP was on the side of his leg and he got knocked out of it. Just after seventy six yards passing. But he had fifty-nine rush yards in the game. CAREER-BEST I'm telling you chiefs fans. You need to find a running game. I don't know maybe it's that other kid Williams who came in for Damian Williams. Maybe IT'S DARYL I duNno. We'll Shawn McCoy. Had some nice runs. You did have to rushing touchdowns not from homes. Last night. I get it to us the bigger phrase I get get it but What what what I need to see from his chiefs team moving forward with old man winter paying a visit more often than not this team it looks like for this team to make the Super Bowl? Not only will they have to win based on things all right now now. Not only will they have to win a wild card weekend home game but they are gonNA have to go into Baltimore or into new New England after winning that home game and beat the Patriots and or Ravens in their houses in a mid January on a presumably very cold mid January day. They are going to have to run the ball. They cannot let Baltimore or and New England pin near years back and go chase mahomes and there will be a dress rehearsal for that actually for the Kansas City chiefs coming up in week fourteen when they visit New England after playing that game against the raiders. There'll be that Dress rehearsal. We'll see how they can fair in that one but they need to find a running game name and right now they don't have somebody that can just carry it fifteen to twenty times a game and give the chiefs the the proper amount of breathing room and the proper amount of play action viability right now. I'm not seeing it. I haven't haven't seen it with consistency and that concerns me about this team's super bowl hopes
NFL Week 8 Monday Night Football Betting Picks: Miami Dolphins at Pittsburgh Steelers
"Welcome in to the the board podcast powered by Fox bet week eight Monday night football edition dolphins steelers y'all are pretty excited for which would be a barn burner of a football game I'm your host firm joined by my colleague coast the one the only pain insider lots of enthusiasm I'm trying pain I'm not a premature whistle blower like we saw in Nashville but I still haven't positive mindsets get this thing going believe it you can achieve it and it wasn't the results were looking for either the college or professional football rain six but we persevere we continue to plow ahead and no we have a long season left in front of us so as we do every Monday we'll start the good the bad and the ugly we of course Dr Chow waiting in the wings to break down what the JJ watt injury means for the Houston Texans and he'll update us and some of our favorite quarterbacks the pain. Let's go glass half full what did you see this weekend that had you excited and brimming with optimism where do we start so much Scott the forty niners because I always leave things are more impressive when prior to the game it's not supposed to look that way so we a significant professional money come in on Carolina so it makes the win even more impressive to me personally because I just feel like they exceeded expectation and I managed and I think we both did here right to avoid this game now we dead value is certainly on Carolina like numbers wise right when you look at the number got six six and a half earlier in the week like Mason Rudolph was catching that same number in his first start ever on the road so value is I get it but I think we talked Thursday which is like a horrific matchup right Carolina doesn't have left tackle Bosa continues to like full-blown just eat out there I think he's got the highest pressure rate he's on pace to set the highest pressure rate for any rookie in NFL history right now kyle kind of talked about this the one above it average pass defense he played he struggled against earlier in the season which was Jacksonville the forty niners would obviously be even tougher than that he was the most inaccurate quarterback in terms of completion percentage expectation of sixteen percent below expectations the worst so far this week and we saw that at there wasn't very good can't stop the run we talked about that Cohen Short once he went out for the season and there was a big check mark there offensively from what I'm what I'm seeing from the forty niners is is Kyle Shanahan is just ahead of his time with what he's doing even though it's very basic right it's I think he's in this concerts jokingly kind of the real inventor of the exotic smashmouth right the ball is just like spread around there's all these interchangeable parts wide receivers are getting handoffs but like at its core it's very simple offense and I think the scary part here todd is like you look or seven and no right now in the NFC but they're without their left tackle there without the right tackle there without their versatile full-back call us check and I think I could wrong about this and it's probably not worth the money was paid but I feel like Jimmy G. has another gear that we haven't seen yet either which makes this forty-nine seem really scary well and I think some of that's got to be by design if you're Kyle Shanahan why reveal all your cards when you don't have to right now and then there's no doubt that Jimmy G. High profile passing attack is somewhere there I imagine as they can can you to build chemistry with Emmanuel Sanders able to get into the end zone and his forty niners debut it makes his team even scarier and I know pain we don't talk a lot about futures here because guys don't have access turn prices and you Never WanNa do hyperbole but right now when you look at the NFC or the forty niners the team to beat the more complete package outside of experience levels than the New Orleans saints tough to you obviously love with the saints are doing especially defensively that front seven has really taken another step I do feel like whoever gets home field advantage because the saints home field advantage so massive you'd give the you'd leaned that way with ever team had home field advantage certainly the games get a little bit tougher here in the next few weeks off for the forty niners so we'll see what they're made of but man ah X. still kind of leaned saints especially if they were the team that got home field advantage going to be interesting NFC playoff picture definitely a number of teams on their best day more than capable of putting up crooked numbers and more importantly getting stops on the defensive side but aside from the forty niners pain or are there any other teams and our individual performances that really stood out to you Daniel Jones right if you're a giants fan you have to pretty encouraged in whether you could've met seventeen or six I mean that's it's kind of a relevant at this point you know and I liked I saw accuracy wise again delivered a completion percentage five and a half percent greater than expectations four touchdowns no picks and I think that that last part there with the no picks is really impressive when you look at how aggressive he was six most aggressive quarterback in week eight so far obviously two games tonight but of all the quarterbacks that have played so far six most aggressive and the other thing is when you look at how he's doing it right now in general young quarterback he's been pressured a shit ton right forty six percent of its drawbacks pressured on the season most in the NFL among qualifying quarterbacks and he's this young young he hasn't flinched yet so I I really like I think you have to be happy for your giants fan of what the future could be with Daniel Jones so fantastic performance although in a loss did did get back door there so I know a lot of giants backers were happy that was the sharp side again closed five and a half some places so Daniel Jones got the pros money and look good again that he did one ill advised throw cost him dearly early in the game came back up the fumble yeah it was the fumble that probably could have gone I mean you it's a turnover no matter how you slice it but interception fumble just not sure he's doing it to throw but for anybody to watch that game was interesting there was a bad penalty at the tail end of the first half where the giants allegedly rough the ultimate leads the three for the lions and changed the dynamic a little bit in that context wonder if the giants would have actually had a chance to win that game outright if things had played differently but for alliance do nothing but bad luck I guess they wrote a break or two in that extra appointments made things a little wonky to some of the decision making it the nail to me how to chase a two and it's one of those things where you just start chasing points and you open that Pandora's box and if you don't convert things continue to create that downward spiral but a good performance from Daniel Jones you mentioned his second career game over three hundred yards four touchdowns then a nice job against a depleted lions secondary with the good I want to add one other into it of course it was in a losing effort Mike Evans yet again puts up Gargantuan numbers eleven catches hundred ninety eight yards and two touchdowns but one of those things that I'm not quite sure why the bucks don't look for Evans and crunch time when he was the stat stuffer all game long and the titans apparently had no answer in their secondary starting to get doubled a little bit dried movement of the slot to get them open and got doubled again so you know he had forty four percent of the buccaneers area are gesture die but obviously not enough however no you want to praise him and you probably didn't turn on the game quick enough but he did have the bad drop on the opening drive in the end zone the bucks were forced to settle for three instead of seven I did I did see that drop bring it up I do want to ask you about that when you throw through a little bit of congestion I know Matt Melons in your hands catch the ball all right so I wanted to find out so you your opinion is now well documented around Mike Evans if you're going to be elite God damn elite all right so that that's where I'm going with it was just really annoying game not going to complain right side wrong result and you go into halftime with the two hundred fifteen yards seventy one yard edge you trail that's a problem and then I thought we were gold right you fight your way back you blow you get up six late in the third quarter and then you know you hope officials can do their job good for Devon white by the way rookie did a fantastic job there sniff out fake laid to feel them out it was like a WWF and I believe they're wwe now but I'm old so wwf like a clothesline he just sent the snapper into orbit there in the all clearly comes out its return for a touchdown of course they blow their whistle so you can't you can't review it and it was a turnover on downs anyways because it was fourth down so said of a seven air when bucks up three with under Ford ago we were still down four in the problem is that you know you're not gonna your situation where it's four down territory or not kicking field goal to cover the spread for the good guys chase kicked to feel go forty eight yarder right through the UPRIGHTS two minutes to go get outta dodge with a one point loss single text bruce and eh lepers no team bet the board it's all about covering the number not winning games outraged good guy might have done it now if the good come the bad and this one is tough for me to kind of put down pain because I think they were very good for three quarters but it's the kind of game that you have to win on the road you're at the tail end of it's been a mammoth road trip the Oakland raiders finishing the game against Houston Texans were nearly two yards per play better as far as net is concerned and you look they did give up some penalty yards and everything else they had the football a lot less but they had an excellent chance to win the game on the road they outscored in the fourth quarter and to Shawn Watts and make some let real place to get the Texans the outright victory Deshaun Watson in Hopkins it's like the Russell Wilson Lockwood combination those two geysers like carrying goddamn franchise right now because Bill Brian is just continues to be a mess anyways I hate being singular play guy but you're one and you have a chance to kind of I don't WanNa say ice the game with your offense but certainly go up eight or if you decided to be a savage go for the to to put it up nine and there is a plan like second and six from the Houston twenty four in Gruden calls a run play and you'll lose a yard and now you're backed up to third wall and then you Veasley incomplete there and and you settle for a field goal only go for I love Josh Jacobs but the Texans Defense is superior against the run than it is pass in the Texans secondary isn't link absolute shambles with injuries right and they were down another starter who got injured in the game and as an offense you got tyrone Williams back and Jones who you trade four finally like kind of got into the fold now that he understands the offense after you were healthy as you've been at receiver like virtually all season attack the weakness man put it in the air instead then do that in that one specific drive could've put him up potentially two scores if they'd went for two and you rely on your defense against Watson and you got burn so to me there is some some mismanagement there was some playcalling late in that game as you kind of alluded to but they did blow sure well you mentioned mismanagement pain and it's funny you use such a word choice where do we want to go to Chicago bears and how they handled their performance against the chargers so I didn't watch the game because I couldn't dedicate enough time to it I'm GonNa go back and actually watch today it's one of those games that was really intriguing to me because guys that uh yeah I work with love the charger so much and they with the chargers plus four and a half and plus four I didn't see it so when there's games that's where my guys like adamant that this is the side and I don't see it myself on my I gotTa really pay close attention to this and because I have add I can't do that with like watching games so two one on and watch today but as I'm like tracking the play by play and now that I'm like looking at the data we just download it charges were not decide and we had this debate all week long and you may see something different but the charges were not decide but I'll let you share what you saw from the data I mean I'm just looking at just like two hundred and thirty one total yards of offense in the year two thousand nineteen on the road and you're only getting what would have been like three point two closing number I don it doesn't look like just by all the data that that was the right side

NFL Week 5 Recap
"Let's do some weekly awards here first off on the land the Atlanta Falcons into now one in four they got hammered against Texans fifteen thirty two and here's another example here's Atlanta running running p Carroll scheme you know don't work it's not working you know you can't play a lot of cover three zone you can't read the shoulder of the quarterback you can't break on the ball if you're defensive line doesn't dominate. I mean if you can't play Amanda Man Game and you can't get into it what's the falcons can the Falcons I mean Dan Quinn is going to take the heat for this but the Falcons are not very good they're eight and thirteen over the last twenty one games there now nineteen and twenty six the Super Bowl I mean at some point Arthur blank's going to have to sit there and say I can blame the coach but we're not a very good team we're just not very good team we're going to have to revamp what we're doing here we're going to rethink about how we're picking players Hauer cure town Atlanta's not one of those teams that steals they make very few trades I mean I know they traded for Cyprian and they traded they rarely make trades the metro the general manager doesn't want to go outside his draft picks he wants to just destroy he really is Ted Thompson when Ted Thompson was agreed but he wants to get players one way I don't think you can do that anymore in the NFL you know they've got Julio Jones Good player Matt Ryan declining not the same player and offensive line stinks this big win I didn't think that they could go into Houston and win but they're bad rotating I mean Matt Ryan now is ten fifteen when he goes endorsed on the road yeah thirty to forty six for three thirty three touchdowns yeah this this doesn't make any sense to me right you fired you fired Dirk Qatar because you didn't think it was good and you bring them back like why did you fire them in the first place like it make any sense like what are you doing you know and you got rid of Sarkisyan which I think was right but to me that this is this is part of the problem in the NFL there's not enough people. helping the head coach right there's nobody really helping Dan Quinn he's he's calling the defense he's trying to be the general manager he's trying to get his general manager to try to find players it's a really tough job anyone that's your Fred Palermo award the best thing going into the week Jon Gruden you gotTa give it to John I mean love you bro I mean
Jalen Ramsey Active, Will Start for Jaguars vs. Titans After Requesting Trade
"Moving onto jalen Ramsey he wants out of Jacksonville unfortunately for him he will be playing against the dines tonight for Jacksonville in Jacksonville the Jags all pro cornerback has requested a trade but we'll be active again with the trade seemingly coming sometime after the game so C. C. which contender should try to acquire Jalen Ramsey. I don't mean I it doesn't have to be a contender tender for me right now. We only played two games. Everyone's a contender the giants I think we make a quarterback's which we right back into this but I think there are certain places that would be better perform. I think the raiders Jon Gruden got the CAP space. They got a really young teen. They could use the corner play. They could also use a star going to Las Vegas the Tennessee Titans. I do believe coach coons. He was a legendary highschool coach coach at Ohio State. He only coastal hieaux until last year we took the job in Tennessee variable who has experienced at Ohio state went there and got him. He is a great defensive back coach in his hometown there with the Titan the raiders are the titans feel are the smoothest transitions for him for a guy that has that type of skill set big corner wants to play a lot of man to man and as we said before he's from Tennessee and wants to go back there and anytime if you can get a big time star like that in a smaller market like Tennessee yeah I think that they should look into that particularly when he's listed the titans previously before the season as a place he'd like to play sometimes you worry big-time star. Would he be happy going to a small market the size of the market in Jacksonville's not why he's unhappy and because of his roots in Tennessee he has already said Nashville would be a place. He wants to thirty proven that he can get national attention no no matter no matter what I mean he's he's one of the star players in the league and one of the faces of the League that we have on the defensive side of the ball one team you mentioned yesterday for I give a couple of others that that I thought really interesting was Philly Philly. Obviously is a contender philly that is the place where they need. I would argue help the most on the back end of their defense particularly the corners because is I liked now. Come Jenkins. I understand we're talking about phillies injuries those they deal with spate of season ending injuries for Philadelphia with how active Howie Roseman has been and how great he's been at almost manipulating the cap to free up space when they need it you would mention philly yesterday that to me is a really interesting fit. It would be something that if you're the Dallas cowboys and you see wait eagles got who the Eagles got jalen Ramsey at the not even at the deadline a month into the season that could be a game changer. I'M GONNA mention a team no one's attaching them to but I think they have the space the picks they have the need. What about the Los Angeles Angeles chargers now maybe they don't WanNa pay Jalen Ramsey they all they're going to have to pay Joey Bosa two guys but they have the cap space to do it? They they are right now. They know that last year they were this close to being the number one seed in the AFC Derwin James is going to come back at some point at the end of the season they already have an extraordinary corner in Casey Hayward but they're starting a guy who was an undrafted free agent couple years ago at the other corner spot if you added few had Casey Hayward Jalen Ramsey Ramsey winter when James comes back that immediately becomes far and away the best secondary in the NFL well for one next year to pay Joey Bosa Casey's already already making a bunch of money Derwin James you already know you're going to have to pay him now. Both of those guys being from Florida state sometime. You think that oh well. Maybe that would work well. Maybe that might Mike not work so I don't know they haven't been the most contract friendly to their player. Philip rivers doesn't have a contract so to me. That's a lot of money that a team that is not customary to pay a lot of money. I don't think they would have that kind of money tied up in their secondary. Just two more teams quickly obviously yesterday. We talked a lot about the chiefs. It's for the cheap since the best player available at the biggest position of need but I do think the chiefs would have real cap issues with that Patrick mahomes going to become the highest paid player forever a year from now. They paid tyreek Hill. They went they paid frank. Clark may be above market. Sammy Watkins they can get off him next year. If they want to play really well race you're adding the highest paid corner in. NFL history was what Jalen is going to become would be tough to keep an eye on the colts though called I mean the colts have enormous cap space the draft capital. They're obviously going to try to win without being a super explosive offense the culture. If I'm Chris Ballard with Andy I am calling Jacksonville and bill and trying to take their temperature on that but he plays his last game tonight for the Jaguars most likely absolutely that would be my guess about eight players to borough road
Jon Gruden says the Antonio Brown saga was no distraction for Raiders
"Coach Jon Gruden says the Antonio brown saga did not distract them from getting an opening when it really wasn't I'm just gonna tell you there really was maybe for in all media but it won't it won't happen here the last couple days may may have been you know big news this but were no distractions I think you could tell that tonight our team is ready to roll talk about the media as if he was a part of it at one time center for the Texans thirty to twenty eight will love to career long fifty eight yard field goal as time expired was a game winner there in the loss to John Watson accounts for four touchdowns for Houston that is getting ready for Thursday night versus Tampa Bay here on WBTV former Panthers research. Devin Funchess of the calls placed on injured reserve them as a least a week to the broken clavicle same for falcons first round pick off into guard Chris when some of the broken foot Jaguars acquire back aboard I Joshua Dobbs from the

"Football Music always gets you excited and is the Monday night football all music the best sports specific music ever produced better than the Fox seem Fox football team that slowed down when there's an injury yeah. I think it's better than even the ESPN up about uplink gets better because look. Can we start that over again or you're not allowed to play twice to have the right to call. We've spent a lot of money for Monday night. Football let it ride whoa worth it. I mean it doesn't it doesn't get better than that. This was the best this once upon a time in America cosell would give the highlights to this and it was the only place you could get them. It was the only place you can get 'em cosell would be doing Monday night. Football on you wouldn't have seen any in any of the other games and he was bringing it to you for the first time. I also put it on the Pole Guillermo at Lebatardshow show who looks like a bigger fool today Jon Gruden or Antonio Brown because John Bruins last move with Antonio Brown was just a kiss his butt and then maybe or maybe he not get illegally taped while doing it also put on the poll. Is there anything better during football season then mocking your friends team because we have here an assortment of losers that is breathtaking. Mike Ryan has has gotten buried because his beloved browns came out of the box out of against the titans team that while it has Delaney Walker and Delaney Walker shirtless. It's scary he looks it's like a piece of granite that Titan seem is always middle of the road and they came into your season of great expectations and beach by thirty Chris Cody team the Miami Dolphins are clearly the worst team to ever play football. There are Minor League football team. The Ravens have never scored that many points in a regular season game game. The dolphins have never scored allowed that many points in a regular season football game saddest Dolphin Games since Dan Marino lost sixty two seven after which might Floreal reports that several dolphins already want betrayed which is breathtaking not that you do not see after one game. A bunch of people like get me out live here if that's true. The shocking part is there's dozens that still want to be with the team had strew. Actually yeah actually put that on the poll as well gamma. What's more surprising using that. Many dolphins are asking to be traded after week one or that many dolphins are willing to say. Lamar Jackson last year or this is a true fact he went to televised hours the last time we saw him play without being able to complete pass it went into the offseason with US wondering Ken this guy. Throw the football yesterday today. He went one televised our without an incompletion. I still don't know though was the dolphins right now. I know I would say the dolphins are bad but what you saw from Lamar. Jackson was quite the leap I mean he was very accurate downfield. Now of course of course it's going to be diluted some by the fact that the dolphins pass rush. They had a career three or five and a half sacks along that defensive line. You don't get any pressure on Lamar. You don't get any pressure on anyone in that sport. They're gonNA do something like that to you. But who's this Hollywood guy man Hollywood brown running behind the dolphins best the strength of the dolphins team such that it is was supposed to be the secondary thinking of which put this on the poll as well geared at Lebatardshow has sean Jackson been ten in yards behind the secondary for two decades and then there's the waste to gossip team law so stu gods was texting me throughout the game and he's doing the only times through his good at math is when he's counting up how it is the jets are GonNa lose so I spent the second half yesterday getting tax what's from STU gods that simply red here comes the one point loss was sixteen sixteen three and then it was sixteen like you did the math at had sixteen threes right here comes the one point law. I did the math at six nothing after the jets miss that extra point that Norwegian kicker the bills and the jets have been playing that game for so long forever and we talked about this a little bit in the local hour. I want you guys to imagine imagine as Antonio Brown ends up in New England what Bill Belichick's reaction was to watching the AFC east one o'clock games yesterday. Eh I think about that as Antonio Brown comes and gives them like Josh Gordon and Julian Edelman and Gronk go probably unretire in the middle of the season because why not yep you could argue. This is the most talented Patriot team they've ever had either of course I can of course I mean Tonio Brown to marry his Thomas Julian Edelman. It's Josh Gordon only a couple of hopes for the league okay. There are three of them. Actually one game samples injuries you know injuries are always a part of that and the outlier it was the Best Patriots team of our lifetime lost in the Super Bowl but those are the three hopes like you're not you saw last night. You saw what happened to Ben Rothlisberger when he doesn't have his weapons and now one of his weapons. The best weapon that he had is going to join Tom Brady the chiefs. I would say maybe a hope yeah but the the the single though most impressive Patriots victory of my lifetime with them going into Kansas City and beating that Kansas City team with a quarterback who had thrown fifty touchdown pass but if so do doesn't jump off side we're talking about Kansas City and that's who I'm right but he did and the Patriots and Patriots team didn't have it Tony Brown or Josh Gordon for that matter and that's that's a retail is out for a while well that was it only two broken collarbone yesterday. Football have a good day with only two broken collar bones. Ah GonNa Make Fun of Mike Ryan here though because everyone doing that. Is everyone crushing. I'm not used to this. I'm not used to it. The browns have lost plenty of football games over the last few years since twitter's been invented and I've never seen anything like the jubilee that many people are taking not just on general timelines but my personal attacks in my mentions if you could please just ease on up come on guys it's sports. Were all here to have fun. Where you you expecting different. I mean I mean what we do outside. It just got every magazine cover. was there a third team in the sport. That got laughed at yesterday or was it. Just the dolphins often in the browns like was people were laughing at the jets. They were our expectations for the jets team yeah like they had a disastrous offseason. They lost a lot of talent Alan and that's as bad as we've seen them play in a big game that was funny to watch though because now they add Antonio Tonio Brown and billy is making arguments on behalf of Antonio Brown being a genius not a fool a genius that's right. That's where the scale is right now again. The scale shifts from moment to moment basically any Antonio Brown action will shift the scale and it's been quite a roller coaster for the scale it started you know I I was confused at the beginning and I felt bad for him. Saturday Thursday was trending towards wow. This is funny then Saturday. I was like what are you doing. I'm worried about your mental health then yesterday yesterday. It went all the way to well. I guess Saturday night when all the way to genius no false you see this is the thing it's it's constantly moving Saturday. I was like Whoa what's going on and then yesterday morning when Moore reported that he hired a consultant to tell him how to get released. That's when it went to genius more also reported the Gruden found that funny when that video came out and I think that whoever was giving more that information was probably trying to conceal John Gruden's and you know protect Jon Gruden somehow because how can you be the coach of that football team and and be so oblivious that you think it's funny that Antonio Brown Brown put a released video a super Polish Nike Video that essentially betrays you and what appears to be a private conversation rating. Britain was just trying to get to Monday. That's it. He was just trying to get to today so Antonio Bracket. GonNa play for the raiders but billy is right. It's genius remember the steelers they refused to deal with the Patriots. As it relates the way Tony O'Brien so Antonio Brown took the long route but eventually got to the place he wanted to get to and that's playing alongside future team any but it costs him all of his dignity okay. Please don't forget that like I wasn't that long ago week fifteen last year. None of us thought he was a clown. Show like none of us thought that it cost him his name. Don't forget that all of you who are pointing out that he's getting the same money. I'm dressed as a rat who cares donlevatar. I feel terrible. Here's thing with you. You don't actually feel terrible. I didn't feel thank you know. I don't really care care. I know you announcing. I feel terrible as just your way to move onto the next thing you're GONNA do Stugatz. They're just words and words mean nothing. They don't mean nothing his words words words words are just transitions to your next lie. That's so right. They're not words they are bridges.

"Monday's headlines today. Great. We're done with that. Hey, did we have another? I don't think we have enough that we don't I want to ask you this though. Would you make Gruden last night? Pathetic. It can I use that word do really like when you're telling people about all the girls who like you. I mean, I just like for him to have to go on and say, I'm getting Texas from all over the league players want to be a raider. Really? It's to be about how you got embarrassed by undrafted quarterback whom watch your team up and down the field. I mean, nobody signed up for this people can say all nobody expect the raiders to win anything. You're right. Spokesman gold championship. I thought they'd be competitive. Here's another example of talking a good game. Doesn't mean that. You're a great coach. And we saw this. I I remember Detroit. Nobody talked a better game to Matt Millen about football. But when it came to be in a GM, and he wasn't able to do the job that's fan. And that's the same thing with John goon. Go back anybody who's into ten years one hundred million dollar contract. Go look at his last few years in Tampa Bay. They were not good. He took Tony Dungy's. Team. He went to the Super Bowl in one. Give them credit give him a parade. But he is not the coach everybody thinks he is. No, he took Dungy's. Excellent defensive personnel. I was there. I cover that team. So I covered that Super Bowl. And you remember they scored the defense quote as much of the net game. It was unbelievable that that was that was the one of the great defense in the history of the NFL Tampa was they went everything back. Don't believe yet Tampa Tampa. But the Baltimore Ravens defense with Ray Lewis in the Tampa defense is where I covered the I I was in Tampa when they were building that defense, and they were getting your on barbers and your Derrick Brooks and your Warren Sapp's, and you're John Lynch and back, then Lynch was just a missile blowing people up, and there was no weakness, by the way, a Michael vixen or show Monday. We're calling was right. We're calling his wrong show a video. So Tom Brady is gonna break Robin record this weekend. And he puts something very funny on his Instagram. Tom Brady did he needs three yards rushing to get a thousand yards rushing in his career. So we can play this. We'll we'll talk over the video this is. So he went to his Instagram. He put up this highly dramatic. Instagram post that he's going to break this rushing record potted up here. Let the audience here a little a Tom Brady's Instagram post as he goes to break a record this weekend. Three more yards rushing and a thousand for his career. I guess we don't have it pot. It up. It's actually very funny. Very self deprecating. You've never been you've never been. I would say minute left. You've never been a huge Brady guy. No, no, no, Tom Brady is a great quarterback. I just don't think he's the greatest of all time. I think it's so it's so overblown when you talk about it took just go look at his highlight video of his career Adam venit Terry's on it for thirty minutes. I mean, let's just beyond come on seriously. When it's on Brady Tom Brady when did he go at touchdown to win the game at the end. Well, first of all it's about winning Super Bowls. Not making the hero ball play. In the last twelve. I'm just saying when you take a look at it. He's been the luckiest of all time. It's documented go look at the Super Bowl that they've won every time. The other team blows up a does something crazy Carolina Casey kicks the ball out of bounds to Tom Brady to ball on this non Seattle. What are you doing? Rhonda football on CENA -ception. Atlanta up twenty eight to three..

"Sports dot com. One of my favorites. Lucky for us. We got him on a Friday. Let's go via the coward global satellite network to Peter King. I said the start the show today is and this is no criticism. Dick fi towel was great at selling himself. That's what makes TV star. He was a better TV star. Then he was a basketball coach and Dixon wonderful human being Gruden. I've always felt was a terrific TV analysts because he sells himself. There is no proof that he's the quarterback whisper. In fact, I could argue Peter that the guy coached against last night. Kyle Shanahan Matt Ryan MVP RG three rookie of the year. Matt shop pro bowler under him. I mean, I look at this Gruden thing. And I'm like some of his qualities are better served for TV than they are coaching his abrupt personality. I'm not shocked by this mess. How shocked I guess are you by what we've been watching? Not really very shocked. I mean, this is a guy who was last three years in Tampa one four nine nine games and didn't win a playoff game. And now he's one in seven. And did not develop a quarterback in Tampa. And so far the results with Derek Carr. Have not been good. No. I mean, it's too early to say that it's over and dumb stupid all that stuff. But last night was a horrendous performance by a guy who's supposed to have. Of his players ready to play in every game. And it was a particularly horrendous performance against a practice squad caliber quarterback who would never played in the NFL before. And who beat you by thirty one points. It's that was a disgraceful performance by the raiders, I'll say this. With Jon Gruden in the NFL made a bunch of moves out west in the same region. Chargers moved up to LA Rams from Saint Louis raiders moving. The Rams has been an absolute home run. The chargers have a good team. But nobody in LA seems to care the raiders are an abject mess. I do wonder sometimes this raider moved Vegas. I mean, how do you think when the league watches what's happening last night with a raiders do they care? I mean, I made all these moves out. West one's been a home run. But this raiders thing is embarrassing. I mean, I think if you're the NFL right now, you've got to be looking at a price structure that the chargers put in place, which is far far far less in terms of money that than the NFL ever thought that they would put in place. I mean, you could get two great seats in the upper deck of the most beautiful football stadium ever built. You can get two season tickets for total of two thousand dollars. And that's again good for fans. That's a great thing for fans, but it's not very good for people who think that this should be a home run of a business move. Yeah. And you're right now if you are a raider fan in Vegas or you're excited about the raiders come in Vegas. And look short term. You can't be concerned with what's our record in two thousand twenty. But I'm just making this point is it beyond the realm of possibility that Jon Gruden next March or April trades. Derek Carr to Jacksonville for a one and then has four picks in the top twenty of the draft is gonna take his quarterback of the future. And so, hey, that's great. Everybody's excited raiders on the draft. What gives you any feeling that they're going to be able to draft develop these guys there two best players? They drafted developed and one of them. Now, they've traded Khalil Mack. And what they're going to do with Derek Carr. I don't know. But I would not have I wouldn't have limitless faith in what I'm going to see from the raiders, you know, I've. The discussions this week are what if you Rogers had Bella check. And I said this earlier, Peter what makes marriage work. It's Hollywood all these creative people marry each other and the divorce rate's higher than any place in America. You'd think it'd be perfect, right. The the director Mary's producer. They're both creatives. What makes relationships work is? It's really a it's not scientific it. You just don't know. And, you know, Greg Cosell's come on my show and said basically that Aaron Rodgers ad libs out of successful plays. He's a jazz musician. And then you have the coach Bela check with the world's greatest system. Do we know that?.

"Your coins your crypto currency one hour from now blazing five picks. It takes a week with a lot of movement on the lines. I generally don't go after the biggest games, but the biggest games of the one. I like this week. Joy Taylor is joining me on a Friday. Good morning. Good morning to you. This is a usually on Friday. We try to talk about the game last night. Of course, it was a blow out. But that doesn't mean it's not interesting. So let's start with something. We predicted before the season started that Jon Gruden and the raiders would not work. Jon Gruden is great at selling himself. He is. And that is a skill. That is a skill. That's why he's a TV star. Have you watched Monday night football this year, they could use him? And he's missed most great football coaches in NFL history. Are not great at selling themselves. Chuck knoll of the Steelers was not Tom Landry. The Cowboys was not Bill Walsh. Bella check cells Paul Brown. They were not television stars Bill Walsh was actually the late. Bill Walsh is kind of bad on television. Through the sheer force of personality. Jon Gruden has sold himself as the quarterback whisperer. He's had twelve one popped rich Gannon. If you go one for twelve I'm probably going to give the player more of the credit rich Gannon than the coach Jon Gruden. I did think it was interesting and ironic last night that Kyle Shanahan a guy who does not sell himself who is the actual quarterback. Whisper took a guy. None of us myself included head ever heard of and one game in a out over a former pro bowler. Derek carr. But Kyle Shanahan does not sell himself. He doesn't talk. He's kind of rigid. He's a football guy threw in through last night. Jon Gruden is not only not the quarterback whisper. He was the second best quarterback coach in the bay area. Nick Mullins, no idea, Chris Mullin's? I know Nick Mullins, no idea looked brilliant, by the way, dick fi towel in Jon Gruden have something in common. They're both better on TV than they were coaching their sport Vitali like Gruden is an amazing amazing marketer. He is he is. He is the biggest Dame in college basketball. At least was for twenty years. That's not a criticism. Dick was great at selling himself. Chuck Daly wasn't Gregg Popovich isn't Brad Stevens? Doesn't Bill self not so much it? Is a skill to sell yourself. I by the way, the guy in the White House right now got there on shear power personality, not policy. It's a skill and Gruden vital. Trump. They're great at it..

"Just finishing up this Thursday night game, three minutes and counting three four three. The staff's go forty Niners. Just absolutely destroyed. The raiders. Pretty wild. I didn't quite see this coming actually lost a lot of money. Ben on I bet on the raiders. And I feel like a absolute moron. I watch AJ McCarron in the game. Derek Carr pulled what is asking for Gruden. We'll get into Gruden here. In one second. I'm gonna hit on Mike McCarthy and just some things I see with this job hunt. I think my McCarthy's ultimately going to lose his job in Green Bay. A lot of people are going to put him on Cleveland. Let's keep an eye on one other team. Just a couple of college football thoughts. Michigan not only alive. And well, I mean they they have a their own fasttrack to the playoffs right now. They control their own destiny. And then as always go around the league and hit on actually some really good games. A couple of games in the afternoon Seattle. The charges are going to Seattle. Also saints Rams. That's an excellent game than the Sunday night game is just awesome. Green Bay at New England. But this game Thursday night football. Obviously a little bigger deal for B. I live in the bay area. So to teams combined two and seven to thirteen can't even do my math. So it's a pretty terrible game on paper. And it was even worse to watch Kashi Anna, I've been saying from the beginning he him and McVeigh or the same guy his teams just terrible cow Shanahan is a big time football coach once they get talent. And this off-season Jim comes back healthy they're going to be really competitive next year. Cows Shanahan's, really good Jon Gruden on the other hand. I don't here's the thing with NFL tanking these coaches and these players are trying to win Jon Gruden now. Did he care about winning in two thousand eighteen that wasn't as number one priority? It's part of the reason he traded Cleal MAC, and Amari Cooper does he care about winning on Sunday or for this example, Thursday night. Like he tried to win this amps go forty Niners game in. He just got blown out thirty four to three. By Nick, Mullins, the cr- CJ Beathard did not start. He could grip of football. Nick mullins. Most of us have never heard of Nick Mullins. Honestly, if I didn't live in the bay area. I would not know who Nick Mullins was. And he dot only. I mean, he pounded Nick Mullins was sixteen at twenty two for two hundred sixty three touchdowns. I mean house possible Jon Gruden left football for ten plus years came back for hundred million dollars in his getting thoroughly embarrassed. And I know call and always said and I somewhat actually disagreed with him. He thought he was going to be an absolute train wreck. I thought John would be solid coach he's been terrible. He's not very good and Collins main, I guess, you know, kind of statement on them. And this is what I do agree with you can't leave any industry high level billion dollar industry for that long and come back and just hit the ground running. Like what what do you think? We read has been doing for last years Bill check cow Shanahan, these guys have been crying and these guys have been coaching..

"John middlekauff three out podcast brought to you by Colin coward and his podcast network. Coming up couple things just finished watching the Thursday night game. Have a couple of quick dots on the Texans. Also Gruden the Amari some leftover things and just some thoughts. I have on Jon Gruden in the entire experiment. I was wrong. I actually thought he'd be good. I expected the raiders this entire season. Before Khalil Mack traded actually be pretty good be competitive might even be asleep or playoff team. That's obviously logon Jon Gruden is taking the raiders back to their old routes back to the team that didn't have a winning season for fourteen seasons. And then I'll go over a bunch of games around the league, and obviously always do the middlekauff mail bag if you wanna get in. I it's the last segment of the show DM me in my Instagram at John middlekauff, and I'll reply on the podcast. It's very easy at John middle confidence Ceram slide up in my DM's. And we'll get to that. I think I own apology because I constantly talk about how much the AFC sucks, and how much better the NFC is and L's my thought this offseason thought early on in the season. But. I think it's kinda shaping out that the NFC is a little top-heavy. I mean, the Rams are excellent. I think the saints are really good in the Vikings are good have a lot of questions on the Packers. The NFC is kind of in shambles right now, the NFC north pretty up for grabs actually it might be one of the better divisions football. But when you look at the AFC AFC west while the bottom two teams, the raiders in the Broncos stink. The chiefs wreck Solent and the charges are really good. When you look at the AFC north if the ravens are one of your average team, you're in good shape. I still I think the Bengals are really good in the Steelers are the sealers going nowhere. I think they end up winning the division. The patriots are the cream of the crop in the NFL and the AFC south a division that you me everyone makes fun of. It's what we call in this business, low hanging fruit the easy thing to do. But I also think that the narrative surrounding it are true just this season in two thousand eighteen the. FC or the excuse me, the AFC south the Texan started Owen three the titans. Mariota does. Not look good. The Jaguars defense is kind of shell of itself. Given up multiple games of a lot of points where they were not doing it last year in Bortles has been atrocious of late. So and obviously the colts just you know, are going to a gunfight with dole knife most weeks beside Andrew locked it is like a howitzer or a bazooka. But I'm watching the game in listen, the dolphin stink. Their season's over now. The tan hills her they got no chance to make the playoffs fun little story while lasted but their defensive coordinator classic meet headed with the beard, throwing his ipad or actually Microsoft. We get mad the Microsoft surface. They pay a premium for that advertising on the ground. Like, yo, bro. Tell you guys. We're the lineup. Tell you guys not to blow these coverages coach teach you're being paid seven figures to be the defensive coordinator throwing your eye. Pat on the ground doesn't do anything coach these guys up figure something out you're running. You're letting the Andre Hopkins who Louis Riddick deserves credit on this. I remember when he was coming out. Lewis was works at ESPN worked with him for the Philadelphia Eagles loved Hopkins. I mean, absolutely loved him. I didn't really know who he was. I mean, obviously, he was a prospect at Clemson. I didn't realize he was this. He is incredible. I mean, what a dominant dominant force another guy that I looked at like a stock. And I said, I would sell people called me crazy. And I didn't think it was that crazy though, when I say out loud, it kind of looks crazy now I said last year, I would look to trade JJ watt. He still makes a lot of money. He's coming off multiple injuries. He looked like shelve himself last year before he got injured. I never thought it'd be the same. I'm wrong. I don't know if he went to Germany did the blood spinning whatever he did. He looks freaking fantastic. I know the hype on Khalil Mack look like he was going to be locked defensive player of the year..

"But when you hire a TV analyst, who for ten years is a performer, like joy was a waitress for a decade when joy goes to the restaurant after quitting waitressing. She starts pre bussing because it's hard to turn it off forever. Jon Gruden for a decade was a TV performer. You don't mumble. You don't give short answers. You explain. You define you give long enters and it's hard to turn that off. He is still got television analyst in him, and he keeps stepping in it because he believes he has to give a TV answer. No, no, no. Bill Belichick yesterday was asked a question about a book about him. It's got all sorts of juicy details. It's a biography on Bill Belichick. It's that talk at the NFL, but bills never been a TV analyst and would probably be a lousy one and felt no need to perform for the media. Biography of Louis coming out this month finger dissipate. Sure. It's. Because I don't have anything to do with. Focus right now in Detroit, two thousand eighteen football season, like tried to job on that. The football coach who's been up performer is still performing, and this is why I always had questions about Jon Gruden. He's not just football coach. He's a television star, and he was damned good. He's a football coach now, but he is struggling to turn off the TV star performer Bella check who's never been one. Here's the question. He turned it on mute. No reason to give the media an inch. There's a big difference, hard enough to be out of this sport for ten years, but grooms going to have to figure this out because he stepped in again yesterday set himself up to be ripped because he started talking about how hard it is to find pass rushers. Yeah, you just had the world's best and you let him go John real it back in more coach. Les performer, Peter King is right around the corner. He's got strong opinions on the patriots..

"America world's best pizza. I keep hearing the John gruden's a quarterback guru. He had nine quarterbacks in Tampa. None developed into stars. He had four quarterbacks in Oakland, rich Gannon won an MVP the year after Gruden left. You know what I think happened. He was the first TV analyst. To really talk only quarterbacks. He created that quarterback camp over at the other place. Now, I talked quarterbacks now dilford talks quarterbacks. Now ten twelve years ago. Jon Gruden was the first analyst that Brandon himself. I'm a quarterback guru and we all know how business works. I in matters. And so I think it's taken his brand in his reality and Trump it up. I don't get it in. Here's the irony of it. There is a quarterback guru in the National Football League, and there's nobody close to him. Oh, my bad. There is one guy close to him. Geographically, Kyle Shanahan lives across the bridge from the quarterback guru. Kyle Shanahan Kern match shop into a pro bowler, bust RG three into rookie of the year. He turned Matt Ryan into new an MVP and Jimmy Garoppolo last year was five zero with them. I can also throw a Brian Hoyer Cleveland stat, and it was the last time. Cleveland was interesting. Brian Hoyer was a quarterback. Kyle Shanahan was the order back coach. We do have a quarterback guru and unlike world's best pizza best. Chilly in town. Best hamburger in Los Angeles. I've actually got proof beyond a yelp review. I've got data. I'm not anti Gruden, but quarterback guru. We got one of the bay area. It's guile Shanahan and one of the reasons I like her up if Garoppolo would have been traded to Cleveland, I wouldn't like him so much. Get a claim world's best pizza. Man. You gotta do more than a yelp review. Good stuff. Ravens tonight. Bengals NFL network. I'll take Baltimore. We're already we're already moving into week two in the NFL and went to huge. We could college football, so I've got blazing five tomorrow. I've already got my five picks blazing five week. One was a winning week, so I've got a very good week. One blazing five, three and ten. "My friend, I am doing well looking. Ford to Jon Gruden Chucky cookies back and he's coming to our town here in Denver, and everybody's all excited about the return of Jon Gruden are you? I listen, here's the thing I love. Here's the thing that you have to understand about coaching. We get to this coaching tree up Bill, Bella check, you know? And we say, well, none of his coaches, whether it was Charlie weis or Romeo Cornell or Josh mcdaniels you know, now all of a sudden you get blown out in your first game. Matt, Patricia can't coach and. I think one of the big things you gotta understand is authenticity. You gotta be authentic. You gotta be you. You can't come in and be a Bill Belichick disciple, and all of a sudden thank you Bill Belichick and be bell check in, you know, and back in New England, we did in back in New England and back in New England and back in New England and eventually players go shut up. I'm sick of here. I don't like New England. I'm sick of hearing about, you know, back in New England, you did this. You know what really one you games back in New England as guy named Tom Brady is back in New England. So quick, give me the back in New England stuff, right? But I think coaches fall into that. And then all of a sudden the perception is you're just fake one thing about Jon Gruden and like I was around Jon Gruden for years at ESPN, did a lot of things with Jon Gruden over the years. That whole Chucky thing is not an act. That's that's exactly the way he talks. That's exactly how he is. That's. I mean, that's what he is. The thing that the guy you saw on television, whether it was the quarterback Cam thing that he did on ESPN or Monday night football. It's exactly the way he is. That's the way he talks. Although, you know there's a far more course words that are thrown out there during the course of day-to-day basis when he's not on television, but that's exactly the way he operates. So one thing about Jon Gruden is he's authentic Mike. And to me, that's why ultimately he'll be successful because he is authentic. Now, coaches like that. There's usually kind of two types of players that play for him. He's my best coach, the best coach I've ever had our, he's the worst coach I've ever had. You can either handle his personality handle him getting, you know, in your ass on a consistent basis, you can handle that or you can't handle that, but I'll give this to to Chucky men. He is exactly who you see. Okay. Yeah, I don't doubt that he's authentic as a personality, but I just think that his impact is a coach is overrated because if you go back to his last six years in Tampa, he was a below five hundred coach. He was oh into in the playoffs. What we know is that. He can win with good players. He want a Super Bowl with a team that here inherited in Tampa. He's like every other decent coach in the NFL. You're only as good as your players and Oakland is, as you said, the oldest team in the NFL and they don't have the kind of talent that they need. They just got rid of maybe their most talented player and Khalil Mack. And I just think that raider nation is getting sold a bit of a con here that they're being sold on the mystique of Gruden, which is really kind of an illusion. You know what I mean? It's kind of like you'll pay no attention to the wizard, the man behind the curtain. And so I think raider fans are thinking that they're getting this impact with Gruden when when all you're getting is a guy that I think Mark Davis hired to simply serve as the diversion until the raiders can get to Vegas and they can start printing money money that they don't have right now as evidenced by them giving up. Wheel MAC. So I just think that the the impact of Gruden is overrated and raider fans don't seem to see that they're buying the diversion line and sinker..

"Don't get it. Listed Jon Gruden don't it's agent now. I mean his agent works, Johnny. Jon Gruden mandates that you pay him a premium mandate chip Kelly. Chip Kelly, Jeffrey Laurie. The got along with the coach for fifteen plus years. The ups and the downs lot more absolute. Andy Reid Andy's much easier to deal with stood by them. They had one of the more consistent organizations in the NFL remember chip in and how he had the famous break-up Jeffrey Lurie going into weeks, seventeen chips. Third year said chip, so the security guard up their pack, your stuff, put it in a box and get out of my building leaf chip was fire. I mean, it was a pretty famous firing within three weeks. Jed York was offering him another job. So in chips, mine. Yeah, I failed. But Jeffrey was the idiot. How was the crazy guy jed York lanning up to pay him again? Then a year later after the Niners him out because he was godawful Casey, Wasserman, one of the richer, heavy hitters in Los Angeles and Troy Aikman NFL royalty were kissing his ass to come coach at UCLA. So like Jon Gruden, how would chip Kelly have any sense of reality and have to do any inward thinking I got to improve every time he fails. People are lined up to hire, and here's the thing with both those guys. I was a little younger when Jon Gruden was coming up with the raiders. We watch all those NFL films even when he was the offense of coordin- coordinator with the eagles. He had an f. edge to them when I went through scouting the when he was coaching organ chip Kelly had a massive edge to him. Both of those guys really at something to prove it never felt like it was about the money with either. Now, a young Jon Gruden, the NFL coaches. And just in general, we're not making anywhere near what they make. Now, chip Kelly was making more money, but it never felt like when he was at Oregon, like wasn't really about the money. He had no life remembered. They were pictures of his house. He had no furniture just grinder. Well, over this period of time, Geoffrey Laurie pays them a boatload fires him to go away. Jed York is immediately there to pay him another twenty five million a year later. Casey Wasserman and Troy Aikman are lined up to pay him again. Jon Gruden has gotten so rich chip Kelly has gotten so rich. You cannot tell me both those guys that have this massive kind of, you know, chip on their shoulders proving to the world, how great they were going to be even as their ego grew in the prime of their coaching careers. They just had a massive edge to them. They carried themselves a little differently, but I think they had a lot of similarities. You cannot tell me that money and I'm not saying that they still don't work as hard. Like I said, I, I don't know if gruden's quit because they're three in the morning. But he works long hours. I, I've always heard chip works heart, not disputing their work ethic, but their EDS there, the edge that Nick Sabin the Bill Belichick that Andy Reid still has the edge for these two guys is gone. And it's because of money. They have gotten to rich. They've gotten to rich. Both of I'm watching chip Kelly, get his ask kick by Oklahoma, listen, I'm not saying UCLA should beat Oklahoma. He just looks apathetic. They're on the sideline. Just kinda stare. If Casey Wasserman Troy Aikman fired him tomorrow, he just cumulated like ninety million dollars in a six year span. What does he care to chip Kelly at Oregon? I always heard in a blowout win if he player screwing around on the sideline. He would like them up the chip. Kelly icy now doesn't have Jon Gruden. Who stood up on the podium early January one is higher. We're going to win..

"Offense players the advantage that we have, we know where the ball's going, the other. Vantage that we have, we notice nap count. So this is some of the basics in football. You're going to see early in the season, so that's not gruden's lack of creativity in the second half the lack of use of Jordy Nelson and the Mari kooky Cooper. Those are all things that yes, Jon Gruden he has to be able to answer for those now as far as not having no pass rush, that would be like me empty my refrigerator, emptying all my cupboards taken all my groceries and giving it away to some people who deserve our future groceries. Yeah. And then and then and then I sit around like gin and say, I'm hungry. Because based on decisions, I'm going on a certain amount. Like the press Cup. It's like we really lacked a pass. We'll let me hold up. I understand sheet here. I want to check real quick. The twenty nineteen. First round. Pick zero quarterback hits zero secs. Twenty twenty first round pick. Oh, and the same thing, sixty million dollars of cap space. He also had zero quarterback hits, so those assets didn't really get the job done for him less now going late into the fourth quarter where the raiders still in this game. Yes, just like NFL game guy makes a play there within one score. Yes. The Rams have just a better football team. So let's not as Nick say, let's not overreact to Jon Gruden in everything he's doing. All right. The beverages aren't cold in Oakland. It's going to be his fault. Everything's going to be his fault, but let's give him the things that we know that he's responsible for the overall lack of discipline with the team which you bring in Jon Gruden. Therefore they did not have that the lack of big plays or creativity. Now, Nick, I know that both the mentor people, but you're. Not thinking one day the Minty is going to outshine me not until him long over, but that's what we had there. I had a guy that was really, really creative and that's down McVeigh. And then you have the guy who supposedly taught him that. Obviously, that book must be a little old or stale because the young prodigy has added volume to that. So to me that those were the impressive things about the first fifteen plays. I thought you made a great point. They did move down the field getting the ball to cook tied in isolating the strong safety in coverage. But after those adjustments, what did they do? And they didn't make many offense of adjusts. And this is something we saw also in that bears Packers gas, where the navy had those first fifteen plays scripted brilliantly and the bears move the ball..

It is great to have him on and by the way, you know what I'm thinking this morning when I'm driving to work and I'm seeing Jon Gruden Damian seeing Jon Gruden say, now we're going to move on and get draft picks in my takeaway is okay. Jon Gruden is sort of an emperor. Even Bella check has to answer. A craft Nick Sabin had to answer to the media Gruden now doesn't answer to anybody. He's got more power. The owner gave them a ten year contract. So even if the owner gave John crap, he'd be like Yomi one hundred million dollars. I think they've almost given Gruden too much power. That's what it feels like to me was about him. It's about him by him and you need players to win games and he's gonna find that out very quickly. And you know what happened to the days of drafting a God, developing a God to be the best guy a player in the National Football League. And then Pandey got what happened to those days. All of a sudden, you know, you switch coaches and you have no Dalal if that was the quarterback, if it was Derek Carr, Jon Gruden would have reached out to him immediately and say, new coach now come talk to me. This is your best player talking about how do you not reach out to him and say, hey, let's stop. Dala. What are the issues? How can I help you? We want you to be here for a long time. You don't even call the guy by the way the Rams with Aaron Donald were reportedly talking to his people or Aaron every day, like the Rams were like, we know it looks bad in the press, but apparently according to reports, I read this weekend. The Rams were in constant communication with Aaron, Donald. It sounds like Gruden was there was no communication, and I wonder how it plays in the locker room. Listen, I wouldn't pay every defensive player a lot of money. It's an offensive leak. I've always said for years and years. I wouldn't pay wide receivers too much money. It's a perimeter player. I like around the further you get from the football. I don't wanna pay guys, but once you get to quarterback right in the offense of line, right generally, NFL teams are looking for pass rushers. I mean Khalil Mack to me is a once in a decade guy. You'll never get another. I mean, I could say this the raiders will never have a pass rusher as talented as Khalil Mack for a decade ago made the all pro team in both positions. Like when I said effort been done or are you kidding me? And he stabilizes everything. Gonna defense, you close out games in the fourth quarter with pass rushers. We did it when my time with the chargers, even Montagne with digest. We have Pash Russia's that closed out games for us. And who else do they have? Can you? I can't answer that question. Who is the other Pash rusher Bruce Irvin Bruce Irvin. Okay. Okay. Okay. So he's gonna have to have a hell of a year. Okay. So you played with the chargers in a jet. Sam darnold was named starting quarterback for the jets and was we were talking amongst ourselves this morning, and I said this ladainian guys that have succeeded in New York. Think about this jeeter ally. Phil Simms, Aaron, judge, and I start naming Mariana. Vera? What. In a city that generates its own energy and excitement..

"What Jon Gruden is for all the conversation about a ten year contract with a guaranteed hundred million dollars. I say, guaranteed because I must remind you, coaching contracts, unlike player contracts are guaranteed. So no matter how much Jon Gruden has said, if he doesn't win, he'll just give the money back. Let's remember contractually the raiders are obligated to pay Jon Gruden a hundred million dollars. Why did they do that for a coach that hasn't been in the league for so long? Why did they do that for a coach that hasn't been part of the National Football League while he was sitting there commentating on games, which is a different thing than coaching. Why do they do it? The brand. The attention and they hope the results look. Jon Gruden. You can look back all day long and talk about who he is and what he's what he means to to football is a personality. But we have to remember Jon Gruden the coach. He's the last coach that had any sustained success for the raiders. Crazy enough. We think about Jon Gruden synonymous were the early early two, thousands raiders the the rich Gannon raiders we think about, you know, the the, the Super Bowl that he won in Tampa Bay after the raiders traded into Tampa Bay. You think about those years. Let's remember curtain was only the coach in Oakland for four years to those years. He went eight eight. So he had two winning seasons in Oakland, but he was a brand Chucky. Think about it. He was a personality. He was a reason to pay attention to the raiders when the raiders were at the peak of their relevance for an entire generation. That is what Jon Gruden represents. The hasn't coached in the NFL since two thousand and eight. So you gave a ton of money to a guy that granite in his ten years only had two losing seasons. Sorry, three losing seasons, three losing seasons in his ten years, but it didn't have such unparalleled success that you're looking at this thing. He's the second coming of Bill Belichick. So the raiders after now ask their themselves a question. How does this age? How well can you bring something back? It's difficult. I always sort of laugh when I hear the stories about couples that were divorced in other, were they got divorced, and then they found each other later got married again. Have one particular couple that I met a few years ago that they've, they've been divorced twice in their married for the third time, Saint people. I don't know why you expect a different resulting time, but you know, it works for some people. You look at it and you say, okay, we're going to reach back in the past. There better. Be something special now since Jon Gruden has taken the job, we've heard him talk about things like the fact that he doesn't really believe in advanced metrics..
