"And that's the thing is in my opinion. A anyone autistic feel things so deeply. It's the verbalizing piece where it gets stuck. And i'm sure you experienced this with mike. Sometimes alex will have a really strong feeling and he'll be silent about it. He'll need a lot of time to think about it. A lot of time to process it just to be able to tell me two sentences at the end because the feeling is so deep that having words to assign to them is so hard so empathy is definitely there. It's really really strong. it's just how do we act on it. How do we verbalize it. But i think is a little bit of the disconnect there and it was because of a lot of our arguments over time. Because i had to wait so long and sometimes it would take to lied and understand and sometimes it's still frustrating because i'd like us a response with more words and sooner and it just doesn't happen because that's not how his brain words. Yeah exactly and i think that's something. The neuro typical partner like s kind of responsibility is to say like would love for this to happen in the next five minutes. But i can see by the look on your face. That's not gonna happen. So like giving space and time. I think is really important but also still being able to say i'm disappointed. I wish we would have been able to do this. That's not your fault. Like just still be able to share some of the downside like how we're feeling about it without placing blame on our partner but so well said i know people listen to this and i had friends say i could never be with a partner like mike and i need so much war and i get it but i will tell you that people who have put in the comments sections which has been therapeutic for me on tiktok have said yeah. I didn't notice about him. An may may not have chosen it before. I met him being with him..

"Highly we to autism which is literally just someone a hard time identifying and describing their emotion. Which i think is a hallmark. Probably experienced with mike. Definitely something i experienced with my own relationship is we have these huge variety of words and my husband can no. He feels it but doesn't know what to label it like. There's just like a kind of a blanket. His brain about like. I care for you but i can't verbalize tied to you because i literally don't know how and and that's usually the reason for it until you actually feel so lucky to be connected to you and that of all the supervisors you could have had. It was me and our modern be broken. Because i mean this is so helpful our future and hardly any therapists that specialize in ariz- smart about this as you are with. I think is a bummer. You know and we talked about this a lot. You and i and my husband ben about like literally getting married. Put me on this totally different path. Because there wasn't anyone out there. I could go so alex can meet with someone like more in the autism community which i always recommend get your tribe debt connected like half the back from other people but there wasn't really anyone on the neuro typical side to tell me like here's what you can expect. Here's what you can do with it. Here's how to navigate this conversation and it felt like such a barrier like. This is silly that no one knows what to do with us but spent a lot of time and energy into making sure like i can help people carry that so they can have successful relationships versus just falling apart because they don't know what to do and we hit some bad therapy and i had some friends band advice. Because don't you wanna partner. Who's more expressive. Don't you want somebody with who gives a belly laugh with you. don't you want. yeah. Of course i do but you don't get so much more on that keeps me in. Is his loyalty his this his intelligence he his ability to help me through situations that. I can't think that he's so really thinking through he s. He does a lot of thoughtful things he might do it exactly the way i want to do it but he still does them an i. I have learned to adapt to the way he loves me. You know we talk about one in our love language and yes we should but we should also adapt to our partners way of loving us. And.

"Because it's so much easier for the neuro typical person to say like okay. You don't respond well to this. I can reroute versus someone who's neuro diverse may not be able to reroute easily. And so i think it's really important for us as typical to do our own words to do our own research to really be talking to our partner friends or whoever in the community we know. That's how test dick to try and meet them where they're at an order to have success. I don't think we can place the burden just on someone autistic to meet us on our level. That seems really unfair. Yeah and my therapy room. When i've worked with these couples on the neuro. Typical partners resentful of this. They get it right. And i think that's just part of how we're socialized as we expect you know like if i'm talking to my parents for example. Both of my parents are neuro. Typical and i might be able to set a boundary of. Hey i don't like this. don't do that anymore. And they can respond really well versus if i tell my husband. I don't like don't do this anymore. His you'll get stuck on ono. What should i do instead. Like they can hear your request. They can take your information but because the brain is processing differently just by how it set up. We're creating all of these barriers and so there can be a level of resentment there. But i think you can also do some work on yourself. Do we really needed to be our way all the time. No there has to be a way to meet in the middle. We're both partners are getting their needs. Met time right and for me what. What really helped was. When i realized that he had asked burgers than i was like. Okay you know Fifty percent of our problems went away. Because i didn't feel like fighting him. I could always see that. He was working really hard to be in relationship with me and i couldn't. I just didn't understand why it was so hard..

"Because then you're saying that there's low functioning so what you say different functioning get really specific with what the functioning looks like so Someone might come into my office. Might be able and so. I would describe their functioning as nonverbal so i make it really specific to. What are the behaviors. What are the thinking patterns. Not just hybris says low because really everyone is high functioning. The functioning just manifest differently. Okay i think about mike like you really wouldn't know you would think only these a little odd or little socially awkward. Some people will would even say that he's arrogant and they don't feel comfortable but he isn't. He's just super quiet. Imperials these not having a good time. He's having a blast. He just doesn't express it right exactly exactly. So that'd just be a difference in the functionary expression versus how you or. I would do it one of the things that people asked about online and i thought we could talk about. Here is how what the impact of it on a sex life and intimacy between couples. That's one of my favorite things to work on my favorite topic. As i know you now it can look so different and also so similar at the same time. So i'm really gonna speak from My narrow typical perspective. I'm not gonna try and because much for someone who has autism. I think that's a really important distinction. But what i see. A lot in my practice is that it can be different. Based on how someone with autism approaches textures and feelings That's a really really big thing for someone who's autistic as some clothing doesn't feel good. Some tags on like shirts or pants cannot feel good. And i can translate to the bedroom as well So that might be like using a specific type of sheet only like no other type of material. Silk is a really common one. I talked about Some types of oral sex can feel gross or off putting because oral sex creates a little bit of some type of texture. That not everybody's end too so that can be a really big piece of sexuality as when you're having sex with someone or any kind of intimacy not just penetrative sex with someone who might be neuro typical the conversations about it might look and how you're doing it might look different based on the texture piece but they're also with another another important consideration when autism is considered in the bedroom. And that's about how they may not approach sex so a lot of my clients. What i see is the partner that does have autism views. It more like this is a released right. This feels good my mood shift..

"As recent Earnings Call Venture Beats Jeff. Grubb broke down many of the details in the call and a story that is linked in the show notes E. A. CEO Andrew Wilson said. Ea has fourteen games in the works. Some of which announced some of which are not and Jeff. Grubb broke down what he thought they were. But then in the very last paragraph of his story GRUB teased that a mass effect remastered is on the way. Here's Jeff Grubb himself to talk about that short but very crucial part of his story. Hey Jeff thanks for calling into gaming ride home I appreciate it. Thanks for having me Kyle. By the way I added you to my calendar of like to Jeffrey Grub or Jeff Grubb as I wrote an auto it to Grub so so you wrote the store your writer for venture beat and you wrote about. Ea's financials recently which was know. Great job you did awesome. I read the whole thing but the part that stuck out to me which is just read you. The direct quote at the very bottom is oh and that HD re master of an EA game is the mass effect trilogy. Just don't expect that to also launch on switch at least not at first. Tell me about that. What's going on there. Yes so I think about this the way that I put that in the story there at the end I I've had some other people reject me and say hey. Why wasn't that just like the story and Part of me is like you know you get this information through sources and sometimes you WanNa just put that up front and Center and as I've done that in the past it's like sometimes those those scoops do well sometimes People are just like yeah. That's obvious we don't really care. And for some reason in my head it was like this one fell very firmly in the. It's going to be obvious to everyone. So let's just throw it in here to this into the story as like as way of like providing a little extra context people who do read all the way to the end and also part of it was like you know what I want to see. How many people actually do read to the end? See if anyone like reach out to me and says hey why is this here at the bottom and very few people did that I see what's going on here But basically according to my sources as I've reported is this is what's happening later. This year is is is that he is going to put out a master of the mass effect trilogy. They have some other Remakes in the works. But I'm pretty sure this one is is up I in their lineup. And you don't you don't think it'll be on switch initially at least but maybe sometime in the future so I've been told that it's it's like at least that I the plan is not switch. Maybe in the future but I you know it's tough right. I wouldn't count on it because who knows what he is going to do. We as Berry Cagey about their their strategy. Regarding intendo switch they are putting out more games now but like burnout. Paradise remastered. That's hitting switch. But it's more expensive on the switch and if that game doesn't do well because it's ten dollars more expensive than when when it debuted on the other systems And honestly you can get that game for much cheaper now on sale If they can doesn't do well who knows what they're gonNA end up end up doing end up doing in terms of their support for switch so yeah. I think it's possible but I wouldn't count on it if I were a fan of waiting for that game on the switch which you know I am. That's exactly who I am. Yes I totally wanted there for. Sure but yeah. I don't know it it just like from the outside. It just seems like Yay is just wary of nintendo. And they always have been. I don't know if they were burned by the we. And the we you or what but they just. They always seem hesitant now. They the we remember like when they did launch that mass effect. Game on We you which is you know again. That came late But I'm sure they felt like oh we did do this work and Nintendo fans who did the same thing they always did which is by all the Nintendo Games on the NINTENDO system and they didn't buy our games now. I do think that it's possible that they are a scene. Pretty good sales for a game like unravel which is on on which came to switch unravel to one of those and that did pretty well. I based on just like looking at the charts when games go on sale so maybe are seen some positive signs there but I think the repub that they are still very hesitant Definitely I think But but you know. I think that when they do this the remake which is probably going to be from the same team that did burnout paradise remastered. Who that's going to probably come to switch because they already have the pipeline there they already know what it takes but again might take a little bit extra time while I have you. I think you also wrote recently that you think a Sony event is going to be happening what you say later the summer. I think I think it's early June I the last I heard was was June fourth My as far as I know that hasn't changed. But we live in a world where things change So that could get pushed back a little bit. But I I would expect something by June fourth now. it's definitely going to be the next. Gen Games related. You know the way that Sony's been doing now information on regarding the playstation five. Maybe there's another wired piece that comes out with says. Oh here's the actual hardware between now and then but if it doesn't have between now and then I expect the hardware and all the games come at this early June event and again that that event could come later in June but I would expect it by that date right well. Hey thanks again. Jeff I really appreciate you taking the time. Absolutely man anytime for sure. Thank you for having me on Jeff. Grubb is a reporter for venture. Beat and you can follow him on twitter by finding at Jeff Grubb with two BS. I think it is finally safe to get a little excited. It's honestly strange battery. Master of the first three mass effect games does not already exist. It seemed inevitable. Considering how disappointed everyone was in and drama and how much everyone still seems to want to play mass effect. But I imagine by aware would want to be the ones to do the port themselves and they are probably very focused on anthem and the.

Bad Day for Cash

"It's Thursday may seventh walking to market fully. I'm Chris L. Joining me. The one and only bill barker good to see you good to be here. Earning season just continues to roll along. We're going to talk about the delivery economy. The working from home economy. We're going to start with the war on cash and at the moment cash needs to call a timeout because cash giving its butt kicked square and pay pal both out with first-quarter reports boats stocks up more than ten percent. And it seems like this was less about the results that square and payback delivered in the four first quarter and more about the way everyone is thinking about. Non-cash payment business. Yeah I think that's fair They're interesting reports and this is not maybe certainly not only them but Lift for instance I think or pay Pals report sort of breaks down results into the january-february period And then the march period and then the April period and then go forward period so when they talk about rapidly evolving business situations Many other companies are in the same boat where there's a pretty happy story to tell according to the numbers for January February and then a big change in March and then maybe a stabilization for these companies in April. And then just. We don't know what's going to happen going forward right and true of all businesses. They pretty much. If if there's one thing one unifying thread through every one of these conference calls regardless of the business it's people saying but we don't really know which is totally understandable but in the case of pay pal the I totally understand why they are eager to talk about the current quarter. It's like yes here's our. Here's our first quarter report but once we're done with this let's talk about what's happening in Q. Two because what we're seeing is pretty exciting stuff. Yeah they're seeing. I think quarter million new subscribers a day. Something like that is the pace. They're on right now. I think may I was the largest increase or the largest number of new users. They've ever had This is an acceleration of the future. Really you've covered it You've thrown the war on cash name around it People been following it and this Accelerates what has been going on To cash and where it's going and pay pal has been one of the principal beneficiaries of this A little bit more so than square for the last quarter. But they're both enjoying the very nice days. Stocks Square is is is more reliant on small businesses in a in a way that pay pal. Isn't I mean just for anyone who's been to a small independent shop or a farmer's market or something like that where you know you walk into a tent you think about buying whatever they're selling and they've got the little square thing that you swipe right there so I mean that's that's probably putting a little bit of dent in their q one numbers but it's hard to imagine square not succeeding over the next five to ten years? Yeah it's the you know little white square boxes where Swipe your credit card that you come to know and perhaps love perhaps not love? I mean I have discovered when I am operating with any sort of square interaction that there's a new opportunity to tip somebody at the counter for something that in almost all other circumstances. I don't find myself tipping for this option to just would you like to just go ahead and add? I don't know ten fifteen eighteen twenty percent onto that Which doesn't occur everywhere else. But it's just enough of to guilt me into doing that often. So your and you didn't give specific examples but it sounds like you're talking about. Hey if I'm a coffee shop. Yeah if I had some change or whatever. I'd throw that in the tip jar if I go to an independent bookshop. I'm not necessarily looking to tip the person I'm buying the book from no and yet here a square asking me whether I might consider that So the little square devices aren't getting much business in an era where people are not going into the little small shops but the CASH APP. is Is is doing good business for them and you know competitor then. Mo and You know all the money That you probably owe me for instance you can Use either of those two. Oh you don't owe me any money at the moment you now. I'd be like what are you talking about you? You were in that poker game the other week. That was not a poker game bill. Man Be Twenty Bucks No I. I did hear that you were the person walking away with the money. Yeah Yeah and and now you don't even have to see bill man you can just like send a message on slack and just be like hey man then give me my twenty bucks. Let's move onto the delivery economy and help me understand this because we got. We'RE GOING TO GET THE FIRST QUARTER RESULTS FROM UBER. After the closing bell today but we already got first-quarter results from lift and grab hub and on the surface. It would appear as though grub hub had the better first-quarter results and yet because they broke even and everyone was expecting hub to report a loss and Rub. Shares are down ten twelve percent. Meanwhile lift stock is up more than twenty percent this morning. It's still down for the year but maybe it was The benefit of low expectations but first quarter revenue for lift was up twenty three percent compared to a year ago. Yeah well there's a difference between a stock that is up twenty three percent to get back to about half of the price. It was a couple of months ago And the stocks like Paypal and square. That are at you know approaching all-time highs off of the you know perhaps You know some of the earnings expectations. you know changed around their stories. I think for you know lift. Things are improved over yesterday. Mostly in the sense that the company has reported. It's it's going to save about three hundred million dollars a year on run rate basis On its operations by scaling back on some of it's expensive. So that's that's the better part of the story there. Really the The numbers declined. Of course precipitously in in March And and continue to be In April Over where they were in January and February. But you know the company was sowing pretty pretty strong growth going into the beginning of this For the whole quarter twenty three percent. increased revenue for the quarter. That's completely on the back of the strong. I two months it do. You have any teams like every quarter when home depot comes out with their results. Lows comes out the next day and it's almost always similar but not quite as good. I don't know if we have enough data because they uber and lift haven't been public companies nearly as long as Home Depot and Lowe's but any should we look at Uber reporting after the bell today and think. Oh yeah it'll probably be about what lift is doing. Yeah and in part because Hoover's already announced The massive Layoffs that were announced yesterday and that was I can't remember exactly how many people it was But it was massive In terms of the business so I think that they'll be able to quantify what the savings from that are going to be They obviously found ridership way. Way Off Right now and they've got to find saving somewhere and that usually comes at the cost of employees. So that is. I think the reason that it's up today aside from just the you know the mimicking lift is the. There's I don't know that this would affect the stock price but the announcement that it is a taking an investment in Lime and getting rid of its scooter business and I guess. combining that with limes I I don't know about where you live but where I live. Yeah we need some consolidation in the scooter business way too many of them and it's just again now. These aren't all going to survive. So yeah the sooner you all can get together and decide which brand is going to survive the better. We're all going to be. Yeah I have not found myself using any of the scooters that have plentiful an available wherever you go around Alexandria but Also getting back to Grub a down thirteen percent today. I think that the results today you would have to have believed that if there were a time when Grubb was going to have a great quarter it would be the one just announced So the fact that they weren't really able to translate to additional orders into additional profitability and have said that they are nearly all of their profits. the in the coming quarter are going to be used to generate additional orders for the restaurant partners. Okay you know being a good partner with the restaurants which they have been accused of not being a great partner to restaurants in the past maybe long term but you know they're they're a company that you would think well they. They be raking it in right now. And that's that's really not the case. Yeah this is absolutely one of those times where it's I think. Completely Fair for investors to look at a business and say it's put up or shut up time if Grub can't get it done at a time when there's a national pandemic and people trapped inside their homes. I'm sorry Yup it may be time to move on and where you know. The the UBER EATS is a legitimate competitor. as his door dash but I think that that will be one of the interesting things to get a from. This evening's call by Uber They're gonNA see the ridership way way way down but ubereats will make up Some of those losses For the company and say the other thing that they'll be pointing to is is the money that they have been able to save going forward With the UNFORTUNATE LAYOFFS. That are necessary. Let's ramp up with Peleton Shares of Peleton fifteen percent hitting an all time high although it's only been a public company since last September so but still a good day for Peleton third quarter report big again not surprising big jump in sales big jump in membership huge huge jumping in sales up sixty six percent something like that And the subscription revenue is up more more than that and this is without one of their principle items Really available for sale in most cases that is they're they're better known for the bikes but they also sell What I would deem to be outrageously expensive treadmills you might be able to comment on that because you're the ultra marathoner here and They sell treadmills which they can't Install right now because they can't go into people's houses and it takes a couple multiple repairman to construct these things. But they're forty three hundred dollars and What what do you think about that so? I don't have a treadmill in my home. I have never been interested in having a treadmill in my home so I I can't say I have a good sense of what a reasonable price for a treadmill. Is You know why that is. I prefer running outdoors. 'cause it's yeah you're from Maine. So the the worst weather that northern Virginia has to offer. You is like kind of a joke to you. Know to your makeup right. I mean I'm not a big fan of running in driving rain but yeah I'll run twelve months out of the year. Sure yeah and weaker people than yourself. Less hardy people from America really Are are willing to spend apparently forty three hundred dollars on a treadmill or will according to Peleton when they're able to bring these people these devices into people's homes and construct them in the meantime the twenty to twenty five hundred dollar bikes Are going like hotcakes. there's a panic buying. Apparently you know according to I think the New York Times of of these New New York Times readership probably intersex fairly well with Palestinians subscribers so They've had the largest class in their history. Twenty three thousand people In one class And just all the numbers up and down. Look Great and At the moment not that they want to rub it in but the nobody's really rubbing it in when they're having a very good quarter right now. They're couching their enthusiasm for results in in more muted terms than that. But they're having the last laugh over everybody who is trying to dance upon their graves for their Christmas ads. They certainly are. And it's not hard for me to imagine that businesses start to get involved with Peleton and by that I mean if we are going to. We're going to see a shift in businesses where businesses conducted. I don't know about you. I'm already hearing from friends of mine. Who Work in Manhattan and there in situations where a fifty thousand square feet of office space in downtown Manhattan and. Now they're saying well. We don't think we're going to need this anymore. And instead we're just GONNA find a couple of smaller footprint places out in the suburbs instead of fifty thousand square feet. We're going to need about ten thousand square feet. We're going to shift how we spend money as a business. We're going to be spending less on office space but we want to make sure our employees are happy and so instead of subsidizing their commute. We're going to subsidize their Home Office. And it wouldn't shock me at all in the next six months start hearing about businesses that are using. Peleton as a way to recruit people could be could be. You should Do Pr for them. I think they're doing fine. Npr FOR THEM BILL Mark. Thanks for being

Permaculture 101

"Super excited though. Talk about today's topic. which is what is permaculture? And why should we care. So if you guys don't know I haven't really talked about a whole on the show but I am very passionate about this thing called permaculture. Maybe you've heard of it. Maybe you haven't maybe already have some conceptions of it. It's actually kind of a polarizing word for some people blue heard it I'll be flat. Honest I love permaculture permaculture. Well a lot of people have different definitions of it. A lot of people who haven't haven't really dove deep into the subject. Also have these sometimes misconceptions about it to essentially what permaculture is again the definition intimate but as a whole this is kind of this. The synthesis of it is this design. Concept is designed process or design sciences. What some people call it As a way of perceiving things specifically with the focus of food production is kind of where it originated but it's a mindset a design process that really encompasses everything. It's so it's a way to look at things to minimize inputs and maximize yield in a way that takes care of the world around us. Takes Care of ourselves to that so it's really been applied now to not only agriculture Home setting but also community design fine community resilience business design. That's actually where a lot of what I've designed my business around this concept of permaculture as well so I've tried to design signed my business in a way that applies permaculture concepts to my business so kind of funky there right so let's get into what it is and really. This is going to be kind of a two part series today. I'm GonNa Talk to you mostly about defining this concept what is permaculture rate. And why why should you even care. Why should you keep at this episode going? And why shouldn't you just turn it off. So I really want to get to the synthesis of what it is and how it can help us and then in next episode road. I'll go more deeply into really why it matters to you. And how you can apply it to your life into your landscape more specifically and and how this this permaculture concept can really change your life in a way of how you approach things and how you approach your yard your life. That sort of thing sounds kind of lofty so I wanNA make it more granular in next episode this episode we will be a little bit in the loft definition stuff but of course I don't WanNa make it boring at the same time so I try and make it as interesting as possible possible. Provide you some examples that sort of thing and Let's just dive right in so this concept of permaculture just really really short history is is is a there's two founders of the permaculture movement this dude named Bill Mollison and his dude named David Home Grin there to Australian guys they worked together at a the university and basically they started to come across all these. The local indigenous aborigine populations some of the tactics they use to address the climate that they lived in To address you know resilience and that sort of thing and all these other resilient agricultural tro design concepts and processes and tools that were being used across various geographies across the world. They started to pull that together into this. This more more synthesized concept which they called permaculture abbreviation of two two different terms permanent culture an permanent agriculture so the first application of course was this permanent agriculture thing so a more resilient agriculture design but it quickly became realized that it was more broadly applied. If you have if you WANNA have permanent permanent agriculture systems you have to have permanent cultural systems as well and so it came to be more more applied to this just general overview of how to live basically in a more resilient way that addresses some of the major questions of our our day this was back in the nineteen seventies and it's certainly true today in the the twenty twenties right and of shortening Availability ability of resources or a restricted availability of resources whether it be water oil Food all sorts of things minerals right. It's how do we address those those massive questions on a global scale but also apply it to be more resilient at a community in personal skills while so that's kind of the history of it so they came up with these this kind of overlap laying concepts And basically just published it to the world and and it became this kind of growing growing movement across the world so now there's kernels of permaculture practice communities across the world in almost Burma every geography with actual practical applicable systems growing food or resilience in pretty much any climate. You can imagine so it's pretty cool stuff And so so it's really really like that's kind of why it's hard to define actually because it's this all encompassing processor concept with a bunch of different tools in applications just depending on your geography or climate conditions and that sort of thing or what you're using it for whether it's agriculture on a large scale or home setting or community designed developed develop a resilient community or business designed to develop a resilient business. All of those things take different tools and tactics but they have the same general mindset if if that makes sense okay so in my own words. Well let's let's talk about the founders words I I guess all right so so bill mollison one of the main you know the two founders He calls permaculture is such permaculture permaculture is a philosophy of working with rather than against nature of protracted and thoughtful observation rather than protracted in in thoughtless labor and of looking at plants and animals in all their functions rather than treating any area as a single product system. Okay that's a mouthful fool so I'm just GonNa go through it again and then Kinda tease apart would in my own thoughts. What he's trying to save? permaculture is a philosophy of working with rather than against nature of protracted and thoughtful observation rather than protracted and thoughtless labor and looking at plants and animals in all all their functions rather than treating any area as a single product system. So let's take for example maybe instead of using my words I'll just use an example so let's take the example of the conventional lawn landscape since as what we talk about a lot on the show here right is is our landscapes right so if we think about our or yard the grassy lawn so protracted and thoughtless labor is basically this launch system. Right we have it's really an artificial system usually compacted active soil with low fertility which grass does not like we want to grow grass there right so we we grow this grass. We treat it with chemicals to make it Like with Weedon feed right so we want to get rid of the CRABGRASS. We want to get rid of the DANDELIONS and the clover we I mean most people I- I extract myself itself from this group of we So that's generally the thought right is is to have just your one species of let's say bluegrass or being Bermuda aggressor whatever so you cover it with Weeden feed you. Get rid of the plants. You don't want you put crabgrass preventer on it right and then also you treat for grubs right you don't want grubs grubbs eaten those routes so basically you have this really synthetic system. That's highly has lots of inputs. And then of course. You have to irrigate right to keep it. Keep it watered watered when it's dry and then you have to fertilize it. Because there's low fertility in the soil and then you have to mow it right because you just put fertilizer on it so it's growing faster and you just watered it so it's growing growing faster rate but it's not brown at least right so So that's a protracted and thoughtless labor system right so permaculture says okay what what are the issues. What are the the high input pieces of this? And how can it may be different right. And so likewise looking at plants and animals in all their functions rather rather than treating any areas a single product system. So if you think about the lawn is a very specific single product system. You're looking at one species of grass or maybe a blend of just a couple species species of grass. And you just want that you don't look at it as a holistic process you look at those grubs as a pest right as opposed to maybe they're eating again grubs are generally really eating the the The rotting or injured roots of the grass plants. That are struggling. Because they're in a low fertility system. So maybe if you improved proved fertility the system. It would help you know reduce your inputs of fertilizers and GRUB preventer stuff because then the GRUBS wouldn't be there is in high numbers numbers because the grass is healthier that will make sense. And then you wouldn't have moles come to eat grubs for example and so seeing as a holistic system and and you know accepting thing that some of those those grubs are going to be there accepting that every once in a while you have a couple of moles and just you know embracing that as a as a more holistic system that has Is More self maintaining could be one solution.

'Call of Duty' Will Have Battle Pass

"Like you should go back to racing Dave fixed a lot of the issues some of it is still egregious but it's not as straight up I've poked defense and then punched the fence and the kind of lineup leaving lay on the fence for a bit and like all right we're resilient we can kind of deal with a bit more than subscription service you're choosing to buy this or not but it's essentially like it's a loop box that's not we're not loobox the mail service sent to your house base and that's when the core thing that you came for is no longer what it was and I think that that is the balance and need to find is giving people enticing things that aren't monetize it it's how you mark is it like it is not just a business model it's also game designed behind that business model got is one hundred percent and especially when we've been talking about Apple Arcade Z. how the game is being affected just to be able to make more money right and I feel like that's not a bad thing it just can easily be a bad thing when you let balanced kind of one way or the other and that's where alternate forms of revenue come in where they can only do that because of the subscription nature of apple arcade right with the subscription nature of battle passes they be allowed to have a little bit more leniency in not having a nickel dime you every single where the every single place that they can right we'll see how this law like I'm curious how this works out for them revenue wise yeah because if it if it's a huge failure ever doing this again going right back to lou boxes but I mean it's also called easily the best selling game every year this game is a reboot of sorts of the best popular ones yeah not necessarily on comedy but like the one you think of duty so hopefully this one actually works out for them I'll tell you what's not working out is seventy six is delaying disease this comfortably post from Bethesda and honestly when I opened his dock this morning usually when I'm hosting I make the dock Greg had already made the dock and he put this story injustice story so I'm guessing this is shout out to Greg Miller who really wants to talk about this but can't right now really wants to like fall and seventy six van is being want to like a game that people don't like that next that's right for so long still try forget there's video evidence of this watch our coverage where he is like stoked it's like all right but hey you can hear one or two more times yeah thirty six is delayed the NBC so I think it was last he three Bethesda announced that hey we've heard you start making quested fallout seventy six that don't just have humans are like human players but also NBC kickers that are like written like an actual fallout game so that was opposed to come this year today with post that was saying we've been hard at work on fallout seventy six this year including our biggest free update yet waste landers were excited about how as leaders coming together but it's going to need more time to do the Best most Polish update it can be so we're delaying it released a Q. One next year good news there's no huge games coming out next thing to distract you from playing fallout certainly not in the first four months of the year we continued to reevaluate arch in change our processes to make sure that we're doing our hit star quality bar and yours we adjudged delay but we know you're worth the extra time wastelands are turning out to be one of the largest expansion we ever done and it changes their entire world with human ABC's returning we'll be sharing details over time but here's a first look at some of what's to come and waste energy could read the full blog post for pictures and all that stuff but I wanna taking the snark aside trying to get around the nation tippety here I just feel like this is such a wasted opportunity of a game because this could have been something special could have been something that people really latched onto in love and I think all that would've took is a little bit of patients and not needing a game at e three I think but that's the kind of they panicked a hit a point where the realized Osha we're one of the big dogs now we have to have a three press conference we're GONNA WE'RE GONNA do it we're going to do it every year and I feel like that works for them because they have enough of a library that they can talk about here's the deal see updates to the game that came out last year here's a couple of VR experiences Houston brand new titles to look forward to but that one big but here's what's coming this year and here's what you should be excited about because that worked so well for them multiple times and when it got to this this was the game nobody was really asking for this which they needed to prove why was worth it more than anything and as we've seen with the launch they didn't do that right this game could have been special instead of it coming out a year ago it came out next year when these things from the get would've made sense but that's the thing I think Mr Got Kinda drunk on file responses 'cause like those games have always been a little broken in different ways and how much that like it depends on your experience of how much a little means but I think they saw that it was not reacting or the initial releases were going well but they put in so much marketing work and preordered and all that stuff like well we got her as of this year so I remember last year Todd Howard or not let's see three two zero says what would you do differently what has that is as I would have put this early access for ear I which is the logical thing to do in this the thing they're talking about now should have been hey we're ready to launch fallout seventy six this is the game yeah this is the full release aim and that would have made so much more sense I feel like people would have accepted a bit more early access still kind of a dirty word dirty word especially on the console side of things but that would in so much smarter and so much more beneficial to them in the situation we're in now where honestly this is surprising headline I think Odin not that interesting it's like who's besides Greg Miller really bummed about this right now I don't WanNA clown for delaying a game for Polish reason they should do not you should totally do that always but also I kind of wonder do you think something's happening because they this is apparently having some development trouble and the thing they realized before the Game Lodge Oh which is doing we're working on this thing but also a can we Nakimora left or left we don't order what they really know what went on there she's still looking for work and I saw her tweeting being a platinum games today interesting awesome it she would go back because he was working on being ETA and all that suffer really but there's also doomed got delayed till next year so I kinda wonder liking all their big games they were like they showed this past he three are now not coming out this year here's the thing I I don't take those things as a bad sign I I think that if anything that is them listening to me it just gave where it's just like hey there's no rush on this stuff like but does the are a known entity people like them people respect him they got through the followers six per fluffy did they do like I think that they did in the sense that when it was happening it felt like they were never coming back it felt like they were straight up cancelled like no one he's going to want to watch or cover as conference again and then they came back and he three months later with things the show but I feel like the answer to that is in are they are they good at announcing new games it's when they had show the next fall out the next rose whatever are the question's GonNa be are you gonNA fuck this up again yeah and I don't think so because those games the elder scrolls the core fallout we got some time on those I think that doom needs to be good for that to not be an issue right and I feel like they can take they don't need them to come out this year we don't need the games this year granted next year it's probably going to get lost show but people are so excited for that that I don't think that's good win to really take the people wanNA play maternal are GONNA play it regardless right and that game just needs to be fantastic and I believe it's going to be and if they need them need more time for that I think that they're very smart call taking it if they would've put out this year and it's it was fine I don't think there's a chance to turtles going to be bad right if it was just twenty sixteen again yeah then I think that that could that could be more like a but if they come out with some baller shit which I expect them to next you I don't think anybody's really going to be worried about elder scrolls are fallout come twenty twenty two or whatever big doom fan I like doom twenty sixteen I'm a big fan of doom in general just the style of arcade shooters and stuff so are you a big animal crossing van not at all okay I was going to ask you which of those who games you play over that animal switch between the two because I know animal crossing is going to do the thing of you've done all this stuff come back tomorrow I will give you more tasks all right just switch to killing demons and hell this might be the first animal crossing that I even give a attempted shot what was the what reasons have you never clicked his look at him I this does not look like anything I wanna do it looks like chores I don't like I don't like collecting twigs I play video games to get away from chores played shores to get away from real people like dogs it's funny on collect thon game whereas animal crossing you're literally doing fucking shores are I honestly the Games are more similar than you would think I know that's bullshit the no all right we'll see what happens mark twenty-first we'll see who talks about one all right persona franchises surp- center franchise "My favorite, Randy Grubb built the deco line, the boss is my favorite that was that was model. A did you ever see the Watson? So that was I drove, I've driven both of them and they're not a car. You'd want to take to trader does. I drove I drove Adecco liner from the Roope, the deco liner has the roof driving position. So you can drive from in the cab or on the roof. It was amazing lent. Leno's car is sixteen turns lock to lock. It's it's a bus. It's a bus steering rack, right? It's like driving a school bus from the backseat. So I tell people. So here's the here's the deco liner, which is my favorite thing, anyone has ever built and this I drove it. I went up to Oregon and drove it. He built a completely by hand that was out of Pomona you know, he drove it all over. Yeah. He drove driven and all over the inside. It's this beautiful RV, and then you go up this amazing staircase and it's basically like the cockpit of Chris craft up on top. And you. It's so ingenious in so simple. There's a prop shaft that usually mounts on the ceiling of the cab, you just take off the steering wheel in the cab, pull this prop shaft down and clamp it onto the hub like impossibly, and you just have an ex an extender for the steering. Shaft that goes straight to the roof, what when it breaks exactly nothing you have to go all the way down the stairway run around the. You do. A passenger. So here's the interior. Look, here's the interior with the prop shaft connected to the roof. And then this is what it's like to drive on the roof. Here's the view and you can see that low overpass coming in the interior. It's so beautiful, dude. Oh, look, here's me in two thousand thirteen getting ready to drive it. There is back when you're coloring your beard. Dick. That beast of tar in motor. It's like a nineteen twelve it's like nine eighty leader four cylinders. Yeah. Or how about like a ship motor? I like those two Sean says thoughts on the new half ton diesel pickups. Anyone driven one? We're actually we're contemplating right now Kelley blue book's got our best buys coming up. We're contemplating doing are doing our half ton comparisons with diesels. So maybe we will maybe we will do that. But engines. Yeah, yeah. You should this is like Colorado. No. Effluent. F F, one fifties Silverado and the Rams the full. Yeah, I had a new ram. It was a gas. But I drove it did not. It was a guest. It was a they had me. It wasn't a diesel. Yes. It did. But it was a very nice place to spend your time. Oh man. You the new you connect. Yeah, it's amazing. The thing that's crazy about all three of those trucks is there. So, like all three of them are really, really good. But like you feel bad like having to rank them and the ram just like kicks like kicks all their asses and they're still pretty. I mean, I still think reliability had some issues issues. I don't want to talk about reliability. The Rams had a couple of little recalls said some of the things I'll do do..
