"ABE news. The armies heat center in Georgia helps prevent soldiers from getting sick or dying. Emily Jones reports in its latest installment of the heat effect series as temperatures keep rising the fort benning program is helping other branches of the military cope with heat too. This company of soldiers is spending three weeks in the brutal August heat at fort benning near Columbus, training to parachute out of planes. Their jogging in head to toe long sleeve camouflage, and their instructors are watching for heat stroke. One of the first signs and symptoms we'll see on foot marches and runs, medically called ataxia. It's lack of muscular coordination. Lieutenant colonel Dave de groot directs the army heat center. The way I describe it to drill sergeants, baby deer legs. Wobbling all over. When this happens, a drill sergeant stops the soldier, gets them out of that hot uniform and wraps them in sheets soaked in ice water. The best of my knowledge every single time that's done right, the heatstroke casualty webs. Fort benning has always dealt with heat. Before the heat center was established in 2019, this post had the most heat injuries anywhere in the military, which made it an ideal place to study how to treat and prevent those injuries. Now, the heat center shares expertise with other branches of the military, because so many bases are in the hottest parts of the country, and climate change is making it hotter everywhere. One best practice they've found, careful pacing on timed marches. If soldiers keep falling behind, pull them off the course. Those are the individuals who then, oh, there's a mile left. Oh, I'm going to fail. And they're going to dig deep and they're going to sprint and they're going to collapse. And setting a maximum pace can keep faster soldiers from going too hard in the heat. This can be a big adjustment in the army's culture of achievement. But to groot says the shift is essential, because today's training shouldn't keep a soldier from training tomorrow. Emily

"Then. If you're not stopping crime every time you're swinging by, you are not being Spider-Man to the full extent. I got like 30 people. You are not you are not taking the great power comes great responsibility motto to heart. And shame on you. I know. I'm cutting you off now. No. Look at me. Look at me I'm the host now. What is this? This chair doesn't feel as good anymore. No, it's like I did. I did almost every crime, and then I still had like 30 to do at the end of the game. And so it was one of those things where it was like a grind that didn't feel as fun. For the rest of the list is really great. And then miles Morales, I think that list is really good, but then you have to do a new game plus run. And it's a great story and I didn't mind replying, but I did that run to get the platinum. I did not do that run because I wanted to at that moment in time do the run. But it was like I skipped every cutscene and I just blasted through the game as fast as I could. And then with rift apart, I think it's overall a really great list except for the one or two like you were saying that don't track. Because so much of that game does track what you do and maybe it's been updated forgive me. I have not looked, but they weren't doing that at launch window time. And so it was good luck if you got the bears, good luck if you got the crystals. And obviously this is a very small thing. We're not saying it's a terrible game now, but in terms of a trophy list they got so much right and so to have those like one or two that aren't great. Is a bit of a bummer. It's the same thing for like, I think God of War's list is pretty fantastic. But if you don't want to have to go chase down every Raven, I can see why that would be annoying for you to do after you've done this amazing quest. I'm so glad you brought that up because I literally looked at the God of War trophies yesterday and more people have beaten all 9 of the valkyries and colluding the Valkyrie queen than have found all of Odin's ravens. Odin's ravens collection is literally the least percentage of troph collective minus the platinum obviously because you have to get that one to get that one. But yeah. I think because that game so much of it ends as a similar with miles Morales and Spider-Man and rift apart. So many of them, I think, integrate the side stuff in a way that is interesting to want to pursue, but the ravens definitely are sort of like, oh, well, I'm just going to go hit these ravens because I know it's a thing I need to achieve. Is it how it feels? But anyway, those are just a few of the lists off the top of my head that I think have been really good from PlayStation recently and show progression in the space I guess to show what people can do from them, but Jade also with you like, are there any particular recent lists that you've really loved or hated? Yeah, so I mean, I already mentioned guardians. I loved guardians for their platinum list. Some of them is literally collecting collectibles, but it's like they don't require you to collect every single collectible. It's like 65% of all the collectibles on one page because there's multiple pages of collectibles. And I thought that was a really cool way to do it. And I was one of the trophies I missed on my first playthrough because when I got to nowhere, I didn't go to the collectors museum where there is like 40 collectibles and I'd probably like 20. But there are so many collectibles in the collectors museum. And I just totally missed that part and my first playthrough somehow. And so when I went through a second time to get the platinum, I was like, I was like, oh, this is so cool. They've got like Stan Lee's glasses and comic books and all these other really cool lore things that I was like, I really love this because I wouldn't have seen this if I didn't have to come back here and look for this for the platinum. And guardians is a very achievable platinum. There's nothing that's really difficult. I would say about any of the trophies, maybe some of figuring out how to do some of the very specific combos with one of the other guardians because you have to do specific things against specific enemies in certain areas. I think my final trophy was called group canal, which I love puns and trophies. Puns or trophies need to be almost every trophy. But you have to use groot's special command, not one of his abilities that are mapped, but like you have to trigger a special command against this very specific enemy called a charger that you see like once or twice. And so if you miss it on that fight, you have to come back through and replay that chapter. Thankfully, guardians has chapter select, so it's not that big of a hassle, but yes, it is something that it's easy to miss and some people will miss. One of that I really liked was life is strange, true colors. This platinum trophy was such a joy to hunt down over the tail end of last year because all the collectibles added to the story. They gave context. They played cutscenes. They gave like voices in your head of sensing like memories and feelings from this object that were recorded into it and it feeds into the lore. It builds upon Alex's character. It is so well done. And it was such a joy going through and getting the platinum trophy for life is strange to tell you the story was amazing. I really love the character development in this game. The collectibles were not hard to find. You did have to look for them. But looking at the trophy list, you can thankfully PlayStation has where you can just track 5 trophies at once. And it's like, okay, each chapter is like, okay, I need to find a check. Okay, I need to find a camera. Okay, I need to find a coin. And so I know what I'm looking for because the trophies tell you what they are. They're not hidden trophies. And it doesn't like looking at throats, doesn't tell you what they what they get when you find them, it just tells you, hey, this is the object you should be looking for in chapter one. You should be looking for these three objects because they're going to give you more story. They're going to give you a better understanding of what's happening in this town as you've moved into this town. So yeah, that's really great. And then there's always the difficulty trophies like, say, seafood, completing the game under 25. That's going to be a little tough for people who aren't perfect at their dodges and blocks or Paris. I will never do that. Like I said, I'm pretty close to it..

Speaker Newt Gingrich Describes the Power of 'Cheerful Resistance'

"Speaker Newt Gingrich welcome to America first one on one. Well, thank you very much and with that kind of an overwhelming introduction. How could I do anything with be happy to be with you? Well, we don't even need we shouldn't need to introduce you. I have this short bio that's on the back of your new book beyond Biden. I'll just mention one thing author of 41 books that enough said right there. I heard you speak just a few days ago at the museum of the Bible here in Washington, D.C. an amazing institution, where some great people from Liberty University and elsewhere, Doug the groot and the former Republican congressman Dave brat had an idea for a new contract with America like the one you penned this time for the business interests that are so stymied by this new administration. And let's start with what you said during that invigorating speech. You talked about the need for a positive attitude. The cheery attitude taught us about how the concept of the happy warrior. So embodied by Ronald Reagan is all the more important now in a post COVID age and with the trillions of dollars we see being wasted on Capitol Hill. I think one of my favorite terms is cheerful persistence. I think anything big at thanks persistence, but if you're cheerful, you are dramatically more likely to have people helping you get there. And I think that the objective fact is that 330 million free people, each endowed by their creator with the right to pursue happiness creates such momentum of creativity and excitement and enthusiasm and energy that despite the best efforts of the totalitarians on the left and the big government socialists and the woke radicals that in the end of free people went

"It's not. You can fast travel to any of your home like the main basis any time in the game. And the more of those billboards that you find and crash through, it reduces the cost of the fast travel. And then if you smash through all 50, it makes fast travel free. So well, you can find all 50 of those points and 200 more of the other XP signs on our map. They're all done. I've been working on that with a couple of freelancers. It's really amazing. And what it is super amazing was W amazing about that is that that's DLC. They're trying to sell you. It's like two bucks or something? I don't know, man. I just like, and forts is actually pretty good about DLC, like really, really meaty. They have a season pass and they always do of like just really great DLC that makes meaningful additions to the game. But big publishers can't help themselves with kind of sell stuff like treasure maps that should be free. Yeah, yeah. Well, in addition to those maps, we have little videos and starting places for the jump. So it's really hard to I hear from some of them. I am also still playing guardians, I think I'll probably finish it tonight. I think it's amazing, and that's why I haven't been able to put down guardians to play sports yet. I want to get through it. I've also been playing a few other games too. I played a lot of kenna, actually, British spirits, which, you know, not early my thing, but I played through a lot of that. I'll get you that. Guardians, though, man, it is so well written and I don't want to move on sometimes because I just want to hear the characters acting and writing, just play out. It's so well done. And I think it's on the level writing and acting wise at any game of a rockstar game of a valve game from back in the day. It is that impressive to me. Definitely on par with Sony games like most of us and uncharted stuff. And the reason I'm saying that is not because there's one particular reason. And that's that, I think these characters are not great. I don't like Guardians of the Galaxy. And I can not stop wanting to know more about this game, this universe and these characters and hear them interact. Like I just don't care about them at all, you know? Until this game, movies are like some of my least favorite marvel movies. And they're like, I love this. I just think it's just so so well done. There's so much more depth to the characters. I think that's part of why I like the guardians, movies, but they are in some moments they can be very one note, particularly drax, so the fact that they get a little bit more depth and you get to see the multifaceted parts of their characters and their arcs because they're all about we're a ragtag group of former criminals, but also we've got heart and we can improve. That's kind of the general gist of Guardians of the Galaxy if I had to give the elevator pitch. So there's so much more of that visible in Guardians of the Galaxy. In marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, I should say. Did you finish it Tina? Oh yeah, I finished it a while ago. I burned through, 'cause it's like a 15 hour game or so, which is in my opinion, kind of a pretty ideal amount of time for a story driven game like this. It doesn't over say it's welcome. It doesn't leave you wanting necessarily more, although for good game, you always want more. Yeah, it's a such a perfect bite size thing. So yeah, you should absolutely finish that first before you move on, Sam. I was loving Guardians of the Galaxy and I would love to finish it, but I ran into a bug that's oh no. Completely stopped. I can't progress further in the game. I don't know. And you tried to like, yeah. I've loaded a former save, didn't work. Steep in the game. It's when we've met, we've encountered mantis, who have seen just as noxious as she is. When she's like writing drex on the jacket. Oh, yeah. Sort of control him. On that planet. And there's just a spot where I need groot to lift up a platform to give me higher and grew just won't come do it. So yeah, that one's a little finicky in general, actually, that particular command. So I've had to approach it from different angles and look at it with a camera and a couple different angles to really get it to work. It can be pretty finicky. Yeah, I don't know. I've watched gameplay of that moment on YouTube and in other people's games, he just comes up and does it, but he will not do it. A man. I don't know. So I bounced off it, and now I'm playing. And I do want to say if they patch guardians, I'll totally go back to it because I was really enjoying it a lot as well. And you're close to the end, yeah. What's that? Oh, I do have one, like I've probably never said this about a racing game in my life. I do think it's on my game of the year short list. I'm enjoying it that much. I just can't get enough. One odd thing about it is that it doesn't really have any sense of progression. Like I said I've done 50 races and race 50 feels the same as race one. Playground was in a little bit of a tight spot where I don't think they want to force people to race these C class beetles for like 5 hours before they start to get good cars. But I had like a McLaren I had a super car from the very beginning and a really, really good dirt off road car. And you can use that same car for the entire.

Just has it over groot pretty much across the board and i was much more concerned walking in that his weapons wouldn't be enough against the regeneration and tough candy coating if you will of group but once i kind of started getting into the really hard core recent games i realized i probably had a pretty good look at this matchup that said ironed it. Have you ever gonna ration the woods. That is fast. Rashes do happen fast. I can definitely speak to them from out of nowhere. Just everybody knows. I take lots of copious notes as they're talking so i can think of my talking points. I take very seriously and i have a couple questions for sure. Does doomed guy have religion. That is hard to say. Now he's fought enough demons from hell that you'd like to believe he believes in something when he definitely is not outward with eddie sort of faith-based items so basically he can these teams that he attacks are really hard to attack with human weapons Game does it accomplishes the machine. I'm sorry if i missed this whole entire point but how it it's just pure raw power in the first earlier games you know. He was just considered a space marine. Who's considered a very trained soldier. Who just happened to find the weapons that he needed. In order to bring down the creatures that combined with his own natural abilities absolutely and in the later games. Well we'll talk about that a little bit later okay. James does grew handle wild tech meaning. People who may not be very stable mentally does a frequent dizzy of ptsd or an. He's actually a genius. And i'll go into more of that in my point number two intriguing. Okay let's go on around to all right race. A heinous the fight is on it is with your point number two point number two for doom guy. Let's talk a little bit about his defense as well as his special abilities. "Additionally plasma gun plasma generates a heck of a lot of heat hughes's plasma guns also a weapon called the un maker which is a demonic laser gun which rapidly fires paralyzing red slugs and can be upgraded in firepower through the collection of items in the game. The big thing to know is though that these paralyzing red slugs can stun enemies when they're hit so he's gonna shoot the on maker at groote. They stunned the enemy for two to three seconds not allowing them to attack but they still can move so group could still move. But if you don't have any offense coming doom guy. He's going to close the gap but he's gonna do some terrible terrible things at the final big weapons the crucible which he hasn't used a ton in the game it's a melee weapon it's a god-like melee weapon. That what hits essentially anything that he hit so if he hits group with the crucible he's going to take him out in one shot. I will save for james's sake though it's generally more ornamental than used in the actual game play so i'm not gonna lean on it too heavily but we also have the b f g nine thousand. Which is the biggest most powerful gun. Basically an olive doom it fires. These green 'electricity bolts with is the best way to describe this it fires as will smith would say that green stuff and it's going to melt explode destroy absolutely everything in groups that it hits of course we all know that the bef g nine thousand stands for big. Oh i'm actually not allowed to say that on this show. My point is it's a big gun and he's not afraid to use it and that's my point number one all said and done tune guy is impressive. "To the tale of the tape for both combatants. Ray please give details on doom guy. Doom guy is a former space marine who fights the minions of hell he was created by john romero and first appeared in the video game doom back in nineteen ninety-three wearing iconic green armor and wielding a vast array of weapons. Doom guy began as a silent and mask protagonist to give the player the fullest sense of immersion possible. Doom guy served as a marine until he was dishonorably discharged for attacking a superior officer. Who ordered him to shoot unarmed civilians. Now working as security on the phobos space he was front and center. When portal technology testing went awry resulting in scores of demons to invade the base. Doom guy was able to destroy the demons. Close the portal. Only to have the exact same thing happened over and over again as new games got made. When will humanity ever learn backed. Doom guy has been to my house. Well basically let me explain. The carolis is silent for most of his existence. The twenty twenty game. Doom eternal added a voice to the ma'am in this case it was the voice of eeo superstar. Matthew waterson matthew has voiced many memorable video game characters such as partha next the dragon from sky rim and the super mutant scientists virgil in fallout for..

"And i think that's correct so making it another appearance on the who had wind show. It's fan favourite and a house household name in the who would win fandom. It's the one and only eve esquire eve. Which i it's been fascinating. I'm been putting a lot of thoughts on my tick. Tock which is junk. Food genius five k. So if you like secca logical walkabouts in the mind that check me out. I've gone viral. I'm not lying. I in favor. This is actually something. That wasn't asked you for awhile. And i ask everyone. I know who loves the marvel series on disney plus. I'm one of those people. By the way do you prefer movie format or episodic over say at least you know eight to ten episodes. Well i think they did right. Was that one. Division particularly felt like limited series. Let you have in a comic book and like if you read like the the vision limited series which was just like mind blowing and so original. And it's like. I felt like i watched a comic book on my tv. I think that is just an accomplishment of storytelling. I think falcon the winter soldier kind of stumbled. I know they had some issues with their vaccine. Plotline being cut which kind of got it that..

"The fighting is over. The portals have all been closed the bloodied figure of doom guy slumps down in a corn finally gaining some rest after defeating. Hell once again. He takes his helmet off and lets out a massive exhale. Attempting to shrug off the unbelievable amount of violence he has caused on this day. It is then that figure can be seen walking into the hangar. As the guardian of the galaxy groot enters. the sea. group is there to follow up on the reported attack of the base and sees doom guy slouched attempting to interrogate the slayer grew approaches him saying groot but doomed guide doesn't understand he shoots back up to his feet grabs his weapon and thinks looks like i missed. One group understands the body language of someone about to attack so he readies himself for combat. And we are in for one hell of a fights it's the flora colossus versus the demon slayer. It's the man of three words versus the man of no words it's group versus doom guy today on. Who would win and welcome to another episode of who would win. I show that completely ignores anything important happening in the world and instead focuses on two characters from the world's of comic book scifi and fantasy. I'm your host james gadsden always. I'm joined by my co host. The one and only raised kanus today. We'll bring you a pretty interesting matchup. I it consists of two characters. That individually are often requested to be in a who would win matchup on one side. You have whom. I consider an. Og gaming is the doom guy himself from the do video game series versus someone who's recently risen up the ranks of popularity marvel. Thanks do guardians of the galaxy. Of course i'm representing groot. Now i did the patented. Who would win..

"Yeah. And he was in the D.C. movie that Justice League. Yeah. Played by Joe Manganiello. Yeah. So it's weird because this is not a hard reboot. This is a soft reboot. So they're using Harley Quinn, who was in the Justice League universe. The Snyder verse, if you will. But they're kind of ignoring the scenario versus the thing. It's interesting how they're doing this. They're not completely cutting out the they're not starting all over. They're just kind of like selecting the pieces that they want to move forward, they're moving forward those pieces, and then just sort of ignoring everything else. In fact, the previous movies are like an ugly piece of furniture in the room. It's like no one talks about. It's still there. Everyone to step around. It's on the couch. Yeah, they're slowly upgrading the room, like they're painting, they're changing the blinds. But they still have this ugly couch in there that they just haven't changed out yet. They're just waiting on. It's still a part of the room. I didn't realize that Sylvester Stallone was the voice of king shark. Which is so stupid. Yeah. No. I mean, you know, Vin Diesel's group. Yeah, so I talked about this in the group chat. It was something that a weird parallel to Guardians of the Galaxy is why is Vin Diesel, the voice of groot? And why is Sylvester Stallone, the voice of king shark? You could pay me to voice those characters add enough sound effects and have it sound the exact same. And I would take way less than we would like. The name recognition, but I think they really want to hold Vin Diesel in to play an actual physical character. The rumor for years was that Vin Diesel was going to voice groot. And then play black bolt and the inhumans movie, who doesn't talk at all. And he would be great. Double up. It's kind of like how the voice actor for Jarvis in the first Iron Man didn't realize that later on, he was going to become vision. He was like, oh, great. I have to have my entire body painted red. For four hours, this is great. If he can't talk, how is Vin Diesel going to talk about family? You had polka dot man who was dal matching. I don't remember dalmatian. But he was also in ant man. Movies as one of Scott Lang's buddies to help break him out of jail and also he was in several different movies where they just went, oh, he was in the dark night as the decoy Joker. Oh, yeah. He's been, there was something else in like 6 different comic related films. Man, nothing different. Iterations. Well, you could definitely see that James gone, pulled some marvel talent. He pulled some marble talent over. Yeah, including edge hello. Yeah. Tons of people. Is there Silva? Has he been in the Marvel Universe twice now? And I don't know. I want to say he was, I'm trying to think. But never mind. Not important. And then you have John Cena is peacemaker..
