"I'm not mad about and so with creating what you wanna do. It's once again. It's one of the things that you have to kind of start And you build up on it and and what people don't understand about preteen to is. It also acts as a new trumpet. So it's gonna be really good for your focus and clarity is going to help you. Throughout the day to support that focus and promote your energy so to follow up one more thing is eighteen is already naturally found in our muscles right. That's what helps the energy. That's what allows us to harness. Our potential gives us that muscle gain strength. And does all the things you wanted to do in the gym But also just remembering that it can help. Your cognition is also really good to know yet. No there's this these products off the charts. They really are you were talking about flavors earlier And i'm reading the organic flavor You know no new saying you've got all these new great flavors but the thing about son warrior. That's so cool. Is you guys. Only use organic flavors. Can we talk about that because there are so many artificial flavors and colors out there and sweeteners. You guys don't use any of that junk in your products. I want to ask a question real quick. Yeah how do you have a vegan critiques guy. I don't think i've seen a vegan creating can you out a little bit Yeah great question so there is no plant based source of chritine right. So so there's there's something that we we have to understand and it took us a lot of going back and forth internally decided. We wanted to do this right because we generally want every product to be derived from a plant. I got must come from a plan if we're gonna use it in our product but there is no such thing as creating plant but what there is such thing as creating that can be built using specific formulations. I can't go into all the details of that as well. But therefore there's there's no animal byproducts in it whatsoever though it is one hundred percent vegan. So that's how it be vegan but not necessarily plant-based that make sense. Yeah yeah that's that's kind of what. I was alluding to earlier. And that's a great explanation because the and and you know dr joe antonio has been on the show for years and years did you. Did you work with him on the formulation. I sent a couple emails. We talk back and forth. He kind of helped me understand Creating a little bit as well guess. Yeah he's an amazing scientists. He really is he really and he and he's he. He specializes in sports nutrition. Great guy was on the show many many times over the years. But i'm looking at the clock. We're going to go for a quick break. More coming up with chris. Gronkowski and ryan blab. It is workout wednesdays on one life. Radio advertise on one life. Radio send us an email info at one life. Radio dot com..

Abc news. and it's so great to have you guys on the air it is. I wish we were all in the same room. But we're not. But you. Chris you and ryan are in the same room right. Yeah we're hanging out together. I'm trying some of these new flavors that he brought my gosh. I don't even know if they launched it on ryan. They have never have not yet no. They're they're amazing. I'm so excited even just looking at the pictures you guys really did an amazing and i people use the word amazing but truly stupendous. Whatever you want whatever big word you wanna use but you guys knocked the ball out of the park on the formulations of this new active line. Let's talk about it ryan. So let's talk about the products so people know what we're talking about the head. I guess i'll start off by just kind of laying the groundwork of our vision of for the active line so we were starting off within energy slash pre-workout and hydration two separate products and then a sport protein and a team so those are all launching right away immediately but today we'll focus a little bit on the active energy and the hydration product so that energy right the the whole idea. Hey why don't you call it a pre workout. You know everybody knows what three workout is. And we kinda like the idea of of calling it an energy because it's a little bit more universal the find a lot of people around three o'clock in the afternoon or just kind of reaching for something unhealthy you know. There's reaching for some sort of carbonated beverage to did. They think of energy. But it's really not so we went kinda want to change the direction and their brains for whatever can be so so. That's part one part. Two is pre workout now as a pre workout. Santa loan thing it is it is amazing it hits checks all the boxes so one of the things that we thought was was was crucial and really important especially in the pre workout or beats you know we just have a.

Abc news talk. chris. How're you doing today in junior high. You guys hooked after the intro. I love it. I love it. I just love radio. And i love having you on the show. What a great couple of weeks. It's been football. And i don't wanna get too diverted but i i just let me introduce you first for people. I don't know why they wouldn't know you your whole family so famous. But lemme introduce you. If you've never heard chris gronkowski. He is the owner and inventor of ice shaker. A vacuum into insulated bottles that hold ice for over thirty hours he. I made a career for himself. As a professional football player. Joining the nfl and twenty ten after being signed by the dallas cowboys as a fullback and during his years in the nfl. Chris also played for the indianapolis colts and the denver broncos and now with the help of his four brothers. Chris puts all of his energy into running i- shaker continuously updating the product line while improving the experience of proteins shakers every everywhere their website is simply shake dot com today. We're talking about preventing and treating workout injuries with krukow. That's a lot to say. Oh my gosh. i don't know where to go. i. I'm dying to ask you if you watch the monday night football game and if you did what did you think about josh allens decision to go for it on fourth and one that all these primetime games have just been insane. It doesn't even matter. The matchup is somehow comes down to the last second overtime. Everything and It's been a really exciting season but decision wise. I mean i think you have to go for it there. i agree thank. You can actually get some tips from tom. Brady on how to. I'm oh gosh. At the heart of josh allen is really what i think is turned the buffalo bills around that and of course the great coaching. But i you know whatever it takes. He's known for that. And i i can't even tell you even though they lost and that was hard to swallow you know. I was so proud of josh allen for making that decision to go forth in one and to go for it even if he didn't get it because like junior said okay so because i think they snap the ball at twenty two seconds. chris which. I'm sure you're remembering as well as i do. But if you were watching And so there was plenty of time on the clock for the titans to come back and score a touchdown. Anyway right so like score a touchdown but at least a fill goal but yeah would've went into overtime and really either defensive stopping. Anyone is what it seemed like so. Let's kind of what i was saying. I probably would have was like a damned if you do damned if you don't moment saying if he would've tied it and they would win for board..

"What professional athlete has the most commercials. I think it's rob gronkowski. Because every time i look up there's another new one for another product. I know brady's sort of gotten in the commercial gain you post. Yes but i think gronk is leading the league in commercials made because everybody loves the gronk character that you referred to the image that is made of the big silly goofy fun luck type. Let's party. let's play football am party. That's not what is happening. Because what was the book on. Gronk for all those years underbelly check and with brady savant. Yes that nobody practice harder. Nobody nobody has higher football. Iq than obviously. Brady's is up there but for that position. That's all. I ever heard from everybody inside the patriots coaches who coached there then. I got to know. Do not underestimate that. Man's command of defense. The he gets it knows it sees it and studies it just as hard as brady studies. So i just happened to be watching that last night because i'm sort of off of that new way to to comment on monday night football and by the way eli and peyton or they're they're they're actually brotherhood they can play off and they can needle each other without the other. They get mad off the air. But but i really goes after payton in his forehead. It's it's funny but came on just dropping guests which is a little off putting for me because you know..

'cause y'all play the be here right. I can't wait for that jump. Lead them yes at minnesota where we won last year. With andy dalton. I think we're okay. You won't win this year. Yeah we need that game. You have had a rough start guy. We've barely side All right rob gronkowski looks like he back old. Self with four touchdown catches the season. One talking with peyton. And eli manning last night. He had a surprising admission about how he prepares take. My teammate cam. Break are just asked me the other day he goes around. I have a serious question he goes. Do you ever watch film. And i know it's just run by guy feeling feeling so i but i do wanna team showing it. I actually do time. Because i know tom watches like forty hours of town. Whose what type of coverage is are they doing. Very curious shed and is he being serious or silly here and then he might be. But it's hard for me to believe it's giving said well. What coverage is this what you have to understand. Study film to know what covers it is. I'm sure tom brady's not telling you. A gronk is covered three. This is probably going to get covered three. "Other and are willing to help. Yeah well you know. And i misspoke again to. It wasn't cable network news. I can't remember the name of of marks. i what what was on cable. Do you know what i'm talking about. You're probably too young. I dunno junior if you remember. But but but mark cuban had twenty. I you know when he first bought the mavericks he has show the mark cuban show and anyway i can't remember i said i said cable network news. It wasn't cable network. News that cnn. I'm i don't know what i'm thinking out but just wanted to correct myself there but okay. So what advice you know kristie you have for someone wanting to turn an idea into a business. Yes yeah for sure I can ask that question all the time. I did it in how i think it is a great way to do. It is to start small scarred as a side hustle and improve it first before you go all in on it so That's that's how done it with with both businesses My wife started extremely small. I think she spent five hundred dollars to start the business I shake it was the same way though. started as a side hustle and idea that i had I invested what i thought was you know a very small amount at that time To get it started in one house able to then prove the model and get to a place where i could support myself off that income that i went all in and that point to go all in and be ready for a lot of ups and downs roller coaster ride but You know be passionate about what you're doing. That's kind of how i how side-hustle starts to find something you love doing and then find a way to make money in what you love doing For me it was working out on the ice. The bottle itself out. I never thought that was going to be my way into sports and fitness and it worked out but You know just from passionate and gladly do and i just kind of stumbled upon the opportunity and then went all on it so That's that's what i tell people. Just be bashing about what you're doing started all you don't need a brand new idea with all these crazy pants and stuff are you need to do is is start small find a way to make it work and they build on it right because you've got to keep your expenses really low. You know maybe unless you and you don't i typically. I don't think unless you're go. Hey shark tank is different but typically partnerships. Don't work that well and it's always good to just keep it small right. Keep your expenses low. And then you don't have all that additional pressure on you right did you. Did you have. Did you feel a lot of pressure initially when you started your company. You're a little scared at first if knock is The second company was you know the money out spending on it was just not even anything that would make a dent in what we what we had so No that's i feel comfortable doing it. It wasn't a lot I think maybe my first purchase with setting everything up ten thousand dollars At that point. So i didn't go crazy with it It wasn't anything that. If i lost that money wasn't gonna lose my house or anything like that. So comfortable amount for us and and that's why there wasn't any pressure there as well That's kind of in you really. You could start anywhere. It just takes longer more money upfront. Sometimes but you can always start as small as possible and just keep building and building money back into it. And i remember when we opened the first piece of patrol. We didn't even we didn't chris. We didn't even have the money to finish the counter but we we had the oven and we had to make table and we and we paid the rent. We opened the doors and we start selling pizza. You know and then you know ten years into that came with wingstop and the rest is history but you know it we start small. You know and it's funny. You know you start with with plane boxes. Then you have the money to get printed or custom boxes it it's just kinda crazy. So many great stories entrepreneurial stories Especially here in america. You know and i do still believe that anyone out there listening. If they've got a good idea the passion and the focus they can achieve the american dream. Would you agree absolutely page. You want to put the work in. And there's there's enough opportunity out there that are going to be successful if you wanna be. Yeah it was her. At any point you wanted to quit for sure for shipping came in and Half of it. I had to actually replace every lead on it because of it was defective so good example of just. If i didn't have a lot of passion for doing i would've just stopped right then and there but Yeah it's it's been definitely a roller coaster. Ride lots of ups and downs. And it's it's not easy so you'd better love what you're doing As an entrepreneur. You're going up. You're going to be at one of those that bethnal most of them fail and the reason is because of that is it is a crazy ride so you better really like what you're doing. It's great lot of a lot of great information. A lot of good. I just incredible inspiration has come through the airways today with you. Any final Any final thoughts for our listeners. I think we had a lot of good stuff today. i think this your questions at the end really hit it right on the head l. opportunities there if you wanna take it I look at it as Even if you have a full-time job you're working forty hours a week Use still have almost if you sleep eight hours a day. Still you have about seventy two hours still in a in the week to do whatever you want. That's a lot of time If you wanna start something to spend three hours two hours a day on it Know there's a lot of opportunity to find something that makes a lot of money or that you like doing that. You're passionate about and there's definitely time in the day to do it if you want to do it. So anyone who says there's out of time Two businesses now. Three kids I work out every day. So there's definitely time in the day to get it up if you wanna get it absolutely making the magic happen chris. Gronkowski always a pleasure. Thank you so much for jumping on the air with us today. Sharing your entrepreneurial story and your life after the nfl and You've got lots of fans out there and hut hut. Can't wait for the football season Let let your brother know. You're like the american football family and love having you on the show and so let's get this party started. Let me introduce. Chris gronkowski to everyone. He is the owner and inventor of the shaker vacuum insulated bottles. Hold ice for over thirty hours. He i made a career for himself as a professional football player. Joining the nfl and twenty ten after being signed by the dallas cowboys as a fullback during his years in the nfl gronkowski also played for the indianapolis colts in the denver broncos and now with the help of his four brothers. Chris puts all of his energy into running shaker. Continuously updating the product line while improving the experience of protein shakers all over the world as website is ice shaker dot com. And it's always a pleasure. We are doing a continuation of the series life in the nfl part. Three after the nfl. So chris is like i said the last part of our series so life in the nfl after the game. What was it like leaving the nfl. And where are you ready to go or was it a really difficult transition for you yes. That's that's tough. it's tough it's tough for a lot of players because that's all you know um and that's all you've known for. You know ten years sometimes sometimes longer. If tom brady. That's all you know for your whole life so it's transition where it's it's because you don't know what you wanna do next Yes you also are kind losing your identity and you're losing. That whole kind of team feels well. Which i think is the hardest part player. So he's an atmosphere where everyone's there. You're supporting each other. You're all trying to do the same thing. You're all trying to win the same game and then all of a sudden you're on your own and you gotta set your own schedule. You gotta bake your own your own game plans and it definitely becomes challenging because you just lose that structure that you've paid for so long that that team feel so I i was lucky. I call myself. Lucky i was. I was able to go into a business. My wife started After after she was sick and looking for a new job every time. I went to a new team. I i took all my focus and put it directly into her business and i was working so much that i didn't even realize i was playing football anymore yet. Wow i mean it's a. It's a huge transition. It is for for any pro athlete. I think and just a lot of people that have been in one career for a very long time. It can be very difficult to move on and so did you have any idea at all what you what you wanted to do. After the nfl So i thought i did I had an accounting degree and Had a bunch of credits because we to go to summer school every year So i i was kinda thinking. I would be a certified public accountant. I knew they make good money. Yeah i knew. I had an enough credit could could take the test and i realized that there was a need for it in the nfl because players have to file taxes and every state that they play in for the most part. It's the first time a player ever files taxes as well so a lot of guys won't even file the. Nfl does a great job and they withhold way more than they do too. So you always get this nice tax return every year i'm purposely purposely. Set it up like that but some guys just for whatever. Reason is what even file that. Irs would have their money for years and It it was crazy to be but they were just kind of scared because they didn't understand it But i thought that was a great opportunity for me to go in and As a player myself doing my own taxes recounting accounting background. I can make a business out of it. So that was a game plan in things changed really quickly. Well yeah yeah now. You're not my. Cpa is also one of my business advisers and so you know and so. Many people are so many players after they leave the league. You know they end up broke. There's actually a book written about. It called a thirty for thirty Written by billy corbin. I don't know if you've heard about it but you know why do you think so many. Nfl players do end up. Broke when they leave the nfl. A lot of it's because you you think you're going to play forever. You think you're untouchable. And i i'll takes says one play on one. Play one injury and you're done you you'd ever playing again so you you're not thinking that way As a player you're thinking it's going to last long time so you're not preparing that way either financially so And then when it's over a lot of guys it's hard for them to go back to a salary and a lifestyle that you know is is someone that's starting over you know that's making you gotta start with that's ego is it's tough to stomach But i tell players all the time is you'll think about your journey to get to the nfl. You played since high school or maybe even before that for free you actually pay to play for the most part you played the college free and when you finally made it to the nfl you got a massive pay day but look at the ten years that it took to get there all that work that you put in that same attitude and put that into your life after football and you're going to be successful and i have a correction. It's not a book. It's an espn film series thirty for thirty. There's three volumes of it But but it's it's it's a concern. It should be for all professional athletes. Right especially in the nfl. You see so much of it but How did you come up. i have to ask you. So how did you come. Up with the idea for shaker. Was it your first venture after leaving the team. So the first The business with the wife. I took a lot of money invested. That company was doing really well Have a l. I didn't need to do anything else. It's just came to the point. Where i wanted to do something i was passionate about and for me. That was is sports and fitness and so one day. I was at the gym. It was really hot here in texas. And i had my plastic a bottle and took a sip and i was like this. This is awful fishing terrible It's war it smells awful. There's gotta be something better out there. So i really went home that day and i just wanted to find a bottle that i could use for everything so i was being one to work out bringing one to the gym. I come home at us like a million cups. Drive my wife crazy. I was like let's just create one bottle like us for everything that was and Started it just for something for myself and Found out soon enough that other people are looking for similar things and was able to get on shark tank and then that's when it went from a really just a aside also kind of a fun project on the side to a full time business overnight. I want to hear the shark tank story. I'm looking at the clock. We're going to go for a quick break. We'll be right back. More coming up with chris gronkowski his. The owner and inventor of the shaker will be right back. You're listening to one life. Radio advertise on one life. Radio send us an email info at one life. Radio dot com. It's back to school time. "That patriots and all of a sudden they're winning games again So i think there's two styles and i think they both worked Just depending on the players on the field you know you have the one where You know the coach. They're really hard on you. I think guys come together as a team. I think they. They almost bond as kind of hatred towards the coast. Got a thing or kinda just because they going through tough times together and anytime you go through a tough time but you you really become brothers. Come good france. You remember the struggle. I stuff that you remember for the rest of your life and I think you come together as a team that way. And then You know the other way where Guy like john fox and denver was it was. He's amazing players go. He's out there. he's having fun with us. he's telling jokes. I almost felt like he was teammates. And in that scenario you just have to have guys that are really disciplined to have good leaders on your team. Because if they're not the players are gonna take advantage of the situation like that and then the team just falls apart so You can be done both ways. A lot of it depends on the players on your team as well. so so. here's a good question. You talk about the other players. So what about the other players. Do you all hang out in practice on an equal level or did or. Did you have to like pay your dues if you're a rookie. Stop after high school so rookie. Year in the nfl. The hazing definitely does not stop The lyman had a pretty bad in dallas. When i was there They had to have had their body shape. Some of them I one good friend Still kosta had the checkerboard Haircut put patches in. His hair is ridiculous but yeah they're they're eating like chili peppers and stuff before practice and oh they're the ad like the guys are toward. They got tortured a little bit. But that sounds kind of Yeah it was it was. It was a rough for them so No you definitely get it and You know it's like their right of passage especially for the linemen so I think that's going away a little bit more and more time just because it's social media and stuff like that but yeah you either way. I mean you're gonna. You're gonna buy a rookie dinner. I think we had the the most well known rookie dinner when i was there when they meet dez bryant I've heard about the really really pay the bill every. Oh yeah so. I will be. The rookies are supposed to carry the pads in right for that. So after practice Are you take your pads off your strategy cool down and then they me out of the rookies supposed to carry the pads. And we'll dez refuse to carry the pageant the receiver so they got him back at the rookie. Dinner where I think so. There's about seventeen guys. There was just offensive players and They make the rookies by dinner. So we went. To pappas grows and our bill ended up being over fifty thousand dollars at night. I you serious. Wow yeah there was a bottle of Louis thirteen called it a rare cask. The guy came out he opened it up and had lights in it and it came with the full story that you had to call the story and read it to us to learn about you know where it was made Only two bottles made it to the. Us it came from this guy. This rare cast that just tasted so much better than all the rest of them that they let it age for an extra ten years and then they they poured like fifty bottles out of that too made it to the us. I i still know the story and you had to pour it with Know white gloves on and each shot was seventeen. Hundred fifty dollars shock. Oh my god they got him back for not carrying. The pats man wishes he carry them. I don't know sounds like a a a great memory. It's all good right. I'll good boys will be boys in and you sounds like you guys had a great time for me I was capped. So as a undrafted. Free agent i. I was capped at a certain amount that i could pay the rent to be paid by the drafted players. So i had to pay my dues but they were cat and then there was one way out and there was a cup that they would put in the middle of the table and they fill it with whatever the vets wanted to go away so ours got filled with a lot of melted butter. A couple of shots They were dumping like putting like like like sushi and stuff in it too and then if you chug the entire cup and you didn't throw up that you didn't have to pay for the data. They offered it to me. And i turned it down. There was no way. I would be able to finish your big wine. Glass full of You know half melted butter. I heard it down my friend. My friend phil. Phil costs. Who i mentioned earlier. He did take it down without throwing up and he got out of the dinner impressive. I'm loving. I'm so i'm so enjoying just talk. You know these these just very candid stories And there are so many of them in the nfl. I'm looking at the clock though we're going to go for a quick break more coming up. Everyone stay tuned chris gronkowski. You're listening to one life radio.

Because i'm about to introduce a really great guy. And he's a former dallas cowboy indianapolis colts and denver. Bronco chris. gronkowski is who i'm talking about He is the owner and inventor of the i. shaker vacuum insulated bottles. That is for over thirty hours. I carry mine everywhere with me. I know you do. It's an amazing product. But anyway he. I made a career for himself as a professional football player. Joining the nfl in two thousand ten after being signed by dallas cowboys as a fullback and during his years in the nfl. Chris also played for the said the indianapolis colts and the denver broncos now with the help of his four brothers. The gronk nation. Chris gronkowski puts all of his energy into running shaker continuously. Updating the product line while improving the experience of protein shakers everywhere. Their website ice shaker dot com. Chris how you doing today. They look on not much not much. I'm full of energy. I'm sure you can hear it in my voice. I think the last time you were on the on the show. I had to run down to the fence back during one of the break. Maybe i'll do that again to work on his love. Well i love to work out. And i know you do too and i bet you already got your workout in this morning. Didn't you. yeah i did. How did you know what because i remember what you said. You get up at like five. I am and start right six something like that. Yeah yeah that's the goal to it really is. I know okay so junior. Did you get your work. Did you work out in today. I know the answer that's laughing today. I had to. I had some some editing to do at a at some audio. And i want to get it done today. This young so. I picked work over working out. Yeah i know. I know me too. I haven't worked out yet today. In fact i got a spot. I need to send over to you for me as well. I love having. Chris gronkowski on the air. You guys everyone out there listening. He's just a really. He's a really really nice guy and our topic. Today is life in the nfl. It's part two of this series that we're doing in the game so you know when we left off last month you had just in in your history not didn't sign for the with the cowboys last week but you had just signed by the dallas cowboys. Did you immediately go to training camp and it right after you got signed. Is that how it works or do they wait a few weeks. No you wait a few weeks. You get to have a draft party and At the draft party. Like you're supposed to celebrate a little bit but you're so concerned about just know get in there and Shape that you don't really party You kind of just meet up with your family and friends and Kinda just get ready for things. I think i was working out the day of the party. So have a couple of weeks to get ready for it. And then Yeah you're there for the whole summer. So rookies coming early. I got a rookie. Minicamp stuff like that as well but Are you want to be there and you want to start training with the team as soon as possible. Wow wow that's cool though that that every does it. Does everybody throw a party. Is that kind of like a tradition in the nfl So we usually throw a draft party if you get drafted Drafted my brother did the same year. So i kind of got the gotta have the the draft party still so it all worked out for me. How's your brother doing getting ready for a huge season. Yeah so i was just It was funny. 'cause tom brady was playing golf and I called in national. Tv and In thomson rob. You're gonna be ready or are you too busy sitting on the beach. And he said Back the time he said tom. I've been every practice every off season training activity and you haven't showed up yet. Allie threw it right back on time. I don't think he was expecting it but it was pretty funny moment on national. Tv so yeah. He's ready to go. I know i just Jump on calls with him. And i'm like what do you doing man like why you breathe so having basement by himself. And he's like man. I just i don't know i wasn't gonna work out today but i came down here and i just i can't stop so he's fired up for the season. I think everybody is everybody's ready for a great football season especially after last year. And what a what a season. The buccaneers had to have those two guys back together. A you know another year It's gonna be exciting to watch. So and i know everybody out there listening that love football is excited about it as well. But you know when you when you were life in the nfl. Okay so you you. You were with the colts. You with the broncos you were with the dallas cowboys. Did you always get along with your with your coaches For the most part once once you get to that level. It's definitely a different ceiling. Yeah you know. It becomes a job in the for the coaches as well. You know. it's a very high intense job for them as well So you're kinda in it together. You're you're struggling together. You become good friends with your coaches as well. Yeah so you're there with them every day. You're struggling you're fighting through some tough games and moments together The feeling is the most together. So you you become really good friends with your coaches have coached that You hate their coaches. That are a little bit tougher on you. But at the end of the day you respect them Because they're they're they've got a lot of pressure on them as well and they're at the top of the top level and they have control of the amazing organization so Even if they're a little rough on you you realize afterwards why they were and And you have to be you have to especially at that level because you're trying to kind of corral these unbelievable athletes with huge egos together so it's not easy well now and it's like i know you've everybody's had this experience to the teacher. That was the hardest on. You is typically the one that you learned the most from. Would you agree with that. Did you ever. Did you ever my teacher. that did that. Her name coincidentally was sister bernadette. She was really a tough cookie. And oh my gosh. But i learned the most from her. You know in school and high school. Is there a particular coaching style. That you think is the best after your experience in the nfl. What do you think really works. That's a tough call. Because i've had both and You know you kinda see that the bill dollar check way where you know it's it's But but he wins and It's kind of like what you said that the teachers that are the tough is on. You are the ones you learn the most from and once you're done you really respect it and i think you saw that happened kind of with The other guy's going to tampa bay the first. It was kind of all over the place organization structure. What necessarily there. And then he saw him kind of pick up that bill check way in.

A JPEG Sells for $70 Million, Creating a New Era of Digital Art Auctions

"From wondering. I'm david brown in this business. Wars daily on this tuesday march twenty third. If you're an art collector with a spare seventy million lying around a rembrandt says on may be out of your reach. But you just might be able to score yourself. A lesser van gogh picasso or like someone last week. You own your own people digital montage. Oh you've never heard of people that's okay. He's not one of those guys. They teach art history class. Which makes it all the more remarkable one of his electronic art pieces just sold at auction at christie's for nearly seventy million dollars even though it only exists in pixels is the third highest price ever commanded by a living artist. According to the new york times people is a digital artist from south carolina. Whose given name. Is mike thirteen years. He's created a drawing every day. He started with pen and paper but now creates art. Digitally the record breaking piece titled everyday's the five thousand days is a composite of the first five thousand days of that project. This was also the first time christie's sold a piece of digital only artwork. It was purchased with the cryptocurrency ether. Another first for christie's something tells me you won't be the last either. So you're probably wondering why in the world someone would pay seventy million dollars for a pack a reproducible. Virtual file right. Something you can't touch or even hang on your wall. yeah. I know. That's what i was wondering. Turns out every day is is in just another pretty j. peg. It's what's called a non fungible token or nfc and if you're thinking is so tell me why that matters. Well you're going to need to stick with me for a moment. On this one in tease us blockchain technology for authentication. Now this blockchain is the same sort of thing that you find in bitcoin right. It captures information and shares it with a network of computers and once shared. There's a digital ledger. That records the data across thousands of computers. Making it impossible to manipulate or so goes the theory. So when you buy an nf it's quote minted to you. Meaning an ownership record is created across thousands of computers around the world. You own the original one of a kind file. I know it may seem complicated on the surface but it really is pretty straightforward essentially techie. Way of making a digital file one of a kind like a physical object even if others tried to make a copy. It's taking a photo of a famous painting. It's not worth what the original is worth. "Since i've been gone we had jack sell his first tweet. We've had taco bell get into the nfc game gronkowski get into the nfc game. Jack's i tweet going up for sale via sent was particularly divisive. You some people asking why jack. Why especially those who feel that. Nfc's are just the second coming of icao's and then on the other hand you had people like justin son who were bidding it into the millions of dollars now. In terms of that specific. I tweet ever. Jack said that he's going to donate all the proceeds through give directly. But it's really brought up a lot of questions. There are certainly the questions of why anyone would want to own tweets but there are also questions of intellectual property and who has the ability to minton. Nf t melting d'humieres tweeted. Here's a question. People keep token izing my tweets. Nfc's how does someone else monetize in my twitter feed helped me in any way as a creator genuinely perplexed adding to this is the title acquisition by square so basically square announced that it was acquiring title. Which is the musicians. First streaming network started by jay z among others as part of the deal jay z. Was going to join the square board many speculated that in fact an f. ts were a part of it. like sullivan. Wrote a piece on coin desk arguing. That and i want to read a quick excerpt. Why does a mobile wallet want to own this property. In part the customer acquisition strategy for cash app has been through influencers in the hip hop community including by giving out bitcoin to followers. This is a massive leveraged growth. Hack square is buying a unique go to market strategy. Also getting a lot of artists has customers who are in essence running small businesses being a small business banking alternative square. Well positioned to one bank. In monetize the creators and to then use the voice of the creators to grow adoption of square itself putting the royalty at six on chain and turning those into a liquid market connected into decentralized finance is a pretty large paradigm shift. You could own the royalty stream you could collateral. Is it to take out a loan. You could stake it as an object that allows you some governance rights you could create a portfolio or basket of various creative objects and turn them into an index that generates dividends you could love her index and downside protection and so on so there continues to be a lot of interesting exploration. I've got a slew of pr announcements about famous people. Doing nfc's in my inbox right. Now and fascinating lead the boil. The ocean fudd crowd has now taken firm site at and t's saying that they are basically evil in that anyone who does crypto. Art should be bullied on twitter. This is not something that i would anticipate but certainly add some intrigue to this whole space

"This is bernadette junior and we are live from my heart media studios in dallas texas as well as t. in southern california on. Abc news talk. We have chris gronkowski continuing on with those. He is the owner and inventor of the ice shaker vacuum insulated bottles. That hold ice for over thirty hours. He i made a career for himself as a professional football player. Joining the nfl in two thousand ten after being signed by the dallas cowboys as a fullback and during his years in the nfl. Chris also played for the indian indianapolis colts in the denver broncos and now with the help of his four brothers chris gronkowski puts all of his energy into running is shaker. Continuously updating the product line while improving the experience of protein shake. Their website is shake shaker dot com and today. We're talking about five fitness myths. That are debunked. We're going to talk about this chris. I received the email. Like i said before the break great great content. You know when you sign up for a great advice. I should say and content for on the air. But yeah when you sign up for shaker dot com and so five healthy things that are five fitness. miss. I've got two articles here in front of me. I keep getting a mixed up. Five fitness myths debunked so number one myth lifting heavy weights makes you bulky to or natural which your best advice all. Yes this is like the number one thing that my wife just loves to bring up and It tries to say that you know. She doesn't want to work out because she's gonna get too bulky but That's not the case at all You know she says she doesn't wanna look like the is what it comes down to A lot of muscles stuff like that. And it's years and years and years and years to to look how i look. I mean. I've been working out since i was fifteen. It's been Almost twenty years. I've been working out. Gives you the physique. Gotta have the muscle mass to have when you work out. What what my wife was trying to accomplish his. She's just trying to tone up and just by doing cardio isn't gonna necessarily get that done When you work out you actually burn more calories than than you will for the most part doing cardio at you're going to tone up you're going to look better and You're not gonna gain a ton of muscle mass especially as a female You'll just really tone up into and get that physique that you're looking for and So it's it's definitely frustrating. Having that conversation with my own wife. So i know it's something that a lot of people struggle with understand but looking out will help you tone up and burn a lot of calories to cause muscle takes more calories to to maintain muscle right that fat. So you you. You burn more calories. The more muscular you are and junior. What about your wife. Does she work out with weights. Though she usually is a cardio person she went to What was the place call. She went to called camp gladiator. Where she they do. A lot of resistance type stuff. We're use your own body weight things like that. That's that was kind of she was into. I tried it. And that wasn't for me i couldn't do well. It's a good workout. It is yeah. I do a great job of At camp quite eater it is. It is both it is a cardio session. I would say but you're doing a lot of like you said. Wait richardson the on body weight. And it's it's a it's a great workout. Yeah it sounds like a gladiator. Just the name at in itself attracts me. I like working out hard. Though i used to be the aerobic you know the cardio girl. I weights now more than than i do. Cardio up because your body gets used to it right chris and then it's not as effective at burning fat right now you when you gain Yeah i mean if you're doing destroy cardio yeah you you. You don't really gained the muscle you. You're you're training your body to Restore that fat and use it for insurance purposes like that so long distance runner isn't gonna be all threaded and and have a bunch of muscle You know they're going to be trained to do long distance in your body needs to over a long period of time to do that so it starts storing it when you when you gain muscle mass. It doesn't just. You're not just burning calories when you're lifting. It also burns it afterwards as well to maintain that muscle burns a lot more calories than fat. So it's not just when you're basing it's also the The burn that you get in the increase the tablet rate Your your metabolism goes up from just by having more more muscle mass well and you know after this recent You know whether disaster that we've been through. I don't know if either one of you had this task but i did. I had to jump into my utility room and the you know it was. It was difficult. It was way like it was the top of it. I was at like four feet. Maybe so i had to like but the bottom line. What i'm trying to say is. I had to have a lot of muscle strength in order to get up into that room. I had a. I had a leak determine where it was anyway. But i was thinking. Oh my gosh. What if i didn't have that kind of strength. It's important to have good just have good muscle strength right absolutely and a lot of its functionality to a training if you do it the right way and you trained to to be More functional in movements even everyday movement It's going to benefit you instead of going into the gym and saying. Hey i'm gonna try to bench. You know four hundred fifty pounds and do a movement that there's really absolutely no benefit for it even even as a football player You'll the bench press really wasn't something that was functional even on the field at least not at that type of weight. I mean you were never punching anyone or pushing them with that much force So to get in there and also do movements that are functional is a huge benefit as well. Well yeah i mean. I had to have muscle strength in my arms and my legs to get up that high. It was not easy. It really wasn't. And i was thinking this is another reason that exercise is so important it is. You have to be strong. May mean life or death whether or not you survive something by how strong you can get yourself interrupt of a situation but number two on. This list is always stretch before you exercise. So are you is that true. So i'll say yes and no is a way stretch before I in its dynamic stretching. You're going into a workout in your muscles are completely cold. The last thing you want to do is do a sad extracts so you don't wanna go down in in touch your toes in hold it for twenty seconds without being warmed up at all because your body's not ready for it it's not loose enough and you're gonna start tearing the muscles and then when you go and put a kind of force on it when you're lifting that's when you could get hurt So throughout my entire career Even in high school we would start with the dynamic stretch where you're moving And you're you're doing high knees kicks You're you're you're moving while you stretch instead of just doing this static. Hold in what you're doing is you're warming up the muscles while you're getting him loose in stretching them a little bit Afterwards once you're done lifting this is a great time to do. Those static stretches that you see a lot of people do that you're used to seeing and that's because your muscles are already warmed up and and they're good to go in there flexible so you can do those stretches after you're done with your exercise. Yeah i know. A tina always warms up. And like you said doing the dynamic movements similar to the movements that you're going to be doing during your workout. You're training right and so on. This list of five fitness myths debunked was number three ca. That you can target where you want to burn fat. What do you want to say about that Yeah that's that's the classic where someone wants to have a six pack so they start doing your million aber exercises but at the end of the day. You're not gonna get a six pack that way Your body's stores that in different parts and and every person also stores it in different areas so I know me personally. It's more love handle area. It's like what i do get super super shredded. That's where it's stored and that's that's just how it is and If you wanna if you wanna get a six pack or do you want to reduce that in a certain area you have to reduce it throughout your entire body. Yeah there's no way to target one specific area.

Tom Brady casually tosses Lombardi Trophy as Buccaneers celebrate Super Bowl win

"Tom brady clearly isn't afraid to have a good time celebrating his seven super bowl win. During the buccaneers prayed. Enough to toss the lombardi trophy from his boat across to another that had rob gronkowski and camera grade on it thankfully. The trophy was caught by great. Who called it. The best catch of his

Is Tom Brady now the greatest team sport athlete ever?

"Who is the greatest athlete of all time to debate. That i saw again and again on social media today after tom brady won another super bowl. Mvp super bowl ring. He does again at the age of forty three and this might be as most impressive super bowl victory yet. And i don't even know how you have. That discussion in the big picture to be honest is like where. What are you basing it on is the number of championships is it. The number of mvp's is it. How levick you are It could be you know you can dismiss some guys because they're part of a team sport versus individual where it's one hundred percent of that person that drives a success like that's probably a i mean. It's an apples and oranges thing as well different sports. I don't even know how ya how you could ever come up with that. certainly james. Tom brady is very much in that discussion. Now here's the. Here's the issue. Stevie with tom brady being you know the certainly certainly the greatest quarterback of all time okay. Let's go with that all right. Let's go hands down greatest guy to play that position seven championships multiple. Mvp's multiple wins games. All that stuff. So i think he's the greatest quarterback but but if you if you were on that same team with tom say prior to the tampa and you're on the six superbowls and you know another player on that team another quarterback of course but so so. Where does that leave you. You know if you're if you're a middle linebacker going or gronkowski on. Hey i want six. There is that what is that. What the qualifiers. To be the greatest of all times. I was there. I wouldn't six so the the football kind of funny for me to pick to pick a player that has a completely different position in hockey. For example everyone you know you got a bunch of forwards bunch of skaters know and they award them bill norris trophy for defense and all that stuff and so hockey. I think you can figure out who. Who's greatest of all time because you're comparing apples to apples there. So that that's a bit of an issue for me to single dot saying you're the greatest of all time again again because there'd be other guys who played on that team who won super bowl championships you know it's just an interesting position to because everything goes to the quarterback it's such a unique position your guiding the ship. You're the leader of the team on and off the field. It's such a unique position that in team sports is not really another comparison in my opinion the other sport that i could compare that to where where i think. You're singling out a position player. So i don't think you can call them the greatest football player of all time. It's quarterback baseball right. You can get an you. Get an ace pitcher. Okay on a on team of course and if you said okay well he's he's the greatest baseball player of all time. And you're going to wait. Wait a minute wait a minute. I'm i'm sammy sosa over here. Okay right what do you mean. I'm where i'm pete rose there. I'm i guess pizza name wouldn't be in there anymore. You know what i mean. So bad is gonna wait. Wait a minute here. "Tom brady and rob gronkowski at media. Day the other day all said the right things the things you would expect about bill but the same certainly could not be said of their former teammate. Danny amendola remember this when you see patriot. Way in depth in the dictionary is going to have tom. Brady's name next to it. None of those coaches got any passes. They got guys in the right position. 'cause they watch a lot of film and they spend all their time at the city but by tom brady is the patriot way. "Positive. It's Super Bowl Week. The Patriots, however, are not playing. But of course, Tom Brady is perhaps you've heard his 10th Super Bowl he and drunk Rob Gronkowski or taking the Buccaneers. Two Super Bowl. 55 4 Tampa Bay. It's the first time they've been in the big game and 18 years, CBS News correspondent Mark Strassmann reports from the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Something about their relationship clicks do that was great. That was perfect. That was just what I needed in Tampa. They have a weekly show Tommy and Gronke. I love to score. There's no such thing. Has more When I'm out at the campfire. I took us more girls. The kind of guy had come over for a cabaret here in that time, maybe for like a like a glass of nice. Tennessee Titans kicker Stephen Gostkowski is an ex Patriots teammate. What was the secret to their success on the field Just now about those guys work extremely hard. It did with the Bucks. Because let's be honest. It's easier to do a game show. You don't need as many people and it's a whole lot cheaper to produce. Sometimes i've noticed lately that game show hosts are people whose names we may know. Name that tune has jane gronkowski joel. Mchale was doing one of the game shows on abc as elizabeth banks. What Is the Patriots' Plan at Tight End?

What Is the Patriots' Plan at Tight End?

"Second question i had foil is regarded. These tight ends that they drafted in the third round as a fan of them. Going after two tight ends. Because i just. I was hoping that it was going to go back to the kind of offense like nam doesn't gronk were your and it. Obviously that isn't happening but it's almost it's almost like a redshirt of the two of them. This year. I think they have one. Catch combines the between the two of them was going into the season with them. So limited on getting offensive snaps. Was that planned or was it more based on their health or was it more based on that this belgian just wasn't seeing what he thought he was gonna see leading up to the draft. Stop yeah i well i think number one you earn and sort of what you see on the practice field. You know ossie was okay to start camp I would see either of them. Blue anybody away. And i know there have been some injury issues but i don't really think that's been much of a factor i mean you know you look at back in two thousand and ten when they had gronkowski and hernandez people kind of forget that hernandez was the one who hit i him he was he was a decent part of the offense from the gecko that year. We're gronk was really more a blocking tight. End do a little bit. By the end of the season he was catching touchdown passes and becoming more of a force and so guys have their own path. And it's all brian what they show how they get the offense how they execute stuff like that from people that i've talked to around the team. It just with devon. Aw siasi good for about two weeks and then tom for every nfl rookie. There comes a point in time when they realized the. Nfl is hard that these guys are good. That the coaches are tough that being a pro and having to wake up every day and do a day after day and sore body and all this stuff like it sets in like it's a profession and some guys look at it like You know. I'm not having a whole lot of fun anymore. This was like when you know when. I went to rutgers and i was playing on the baseball team. You know my second. I could come back from his hand surgery. I had but i really wasn't having that much fun anymore in kind of wanted to be more of a college kid so alice sort of left the game but these guys they realize it's it's a profession in some of them rise. Some of them love it some of them rise in say okay. I like this i can. I can meet the challenge and push through and some guy sort of shrink in from people i've talked to. That's been siasi. Here has not been a lot of mental toughness behind the scenes. I think you can see some of it in his play on the field in terms of just as body language when he's on the field donkey i think he has more of a chance. I think the consensus. And i know. Albert brewers working on something about ballot. Check in his drafting. And i think he's gonna talk about these titans because we've been chit chat and back and forth The past couple of days but about how like everybody says like dalton kimes overdrafted Qian's been almost like a big puppy where he's kind of all over the place and you think he wants to be there. I think he loves football. So i don't really worry about him. It's when he's going to get it. And i think once he gets it and he gets his role and they create more of like a crash jensen type of role for him. I think he's gonna flourish. And i think he's going to be a weapon for this team. Aussie i don't know what kind of future i don't know if he has any future here to tell you the truth and i think the patriots Fell into a trap. And i don't know if this was by design or just bella check being bell check. But what tom we're not idiots they certainly are idiots. We all knew the deal at receiver in tight end and so for belgium to come out of this draft trade out of the first round. Give up like a kenneth murray or whatever you wanted to do there and then take three defensive guys would your first three picks like when there were tight ends. Probably that you had rated higher there that you just passed on and all of a sudden you're scrambling it looked like to get off siasi and dalton keen like. That's problematic and to me. It illustrates sort of the personnel problems that they've had last four five

Yeah well let's talk. Let's talk about it. You know Chris gronkowski let's talk about him. You're the one that brought him to. Yeah yeah so he. He's a former dallas cowboy. He was he he got signed the dallas cowboys in two thousand and ten his brother still playing for the tampa bay buccaneers. He's three times super bowl. Champion rob gronkowski. And we're gonna talk to him just about what it was like grown up with the. He's got four other brothers. They've all played professional sports. And he's just got some crazy stories about the determination that dedication. How brothers pushed each other to get into the nfl. And then now. He's the owner and creator of shaker. Which is a great protein shaker. Bottle that I it's one of a kind on the market. It's he'll all but yeah it was on shark tank. Mark cuban bought into it. He just got a great story. And i'm excited for for our listeners. To hear about it. Yeah me too. And he grew up in buffalo right. Yeah he he. And i grew up like two hundred miles from one. And you're both upstate new yorkers well actually in upstate they don't talk like that. Did you know that didn't know when they get really pissed off. Sometimes a new york accent will come out. But i shouldn't have said p. i s. deed on the air. I don't like that word but you know it's not illegal so you're a good artist is very lady Yeah so we have one when especially well you know. You're half italian do you. Do you ever swear in italian. No i don't i don't know italian words Swear a lot it. Just if if a mike's in front of me. Though i can turn it on and off. Oh yeah. I can swear with the best of absolutely. Oh my gosh well. I'm excited to have chris gronkowski on the show here at the half. And i'm also excited to introduce tom blast. He's back. he is the united states army veteran a certified trainer and krav maga instructor and he was one of the first krav maga instructors in san antonio helping to what are now the largest mega worldwide training facilities in the united states in two thousand five. He moved to dallas to oversee training and education for all dfw twenty four hour fitness locations and currently. Tom is one of the top trainers in the metroplex with over sixty client client sessions per week and you can find them at insist on instagram at body and defense. Love this guy. Tom how you doing awesome. How are you. i'm good. I'm good so okay. We really need to talk about this. Because we're on our topic. Today is how to how to do workouts into our holiday season how to work out during the holidays because it's a little more intense maybe during regular time and i have to tell you last night. I don't even know i lost count. It like six italian cookies. My daughter started making and baking and selling homemade italian cookies. I actually went to some sort of carb coma. I lost count at six. I think maybe i eight eight or ten. Okay so i got on the on the on the on the on the On the bike the spin bike just a few minutes ago before the show. And i hit it really hard did i. Did i lose the cookies tom it's called. You can never out train. Absolutely no i know it too well but year has really been a tough year for everybody and i really do think that we all deserve some holiday. Cheer that includes italian cookies or any kind of cookies. You like but you know for me. That means extra carb sugar alcohol all of it. So what's your advice for staying fit this season. Well it's first and foremost we all. Of course we all are are trying to get back on track really just our lives in general I it's a matter of You you have to make time and bottom line. The no one's no one's going to do it for you. You have to be able to to do it. Yourself i you. That's a that's the first thing how the battles even just showing up so pretty an into your schedule even if it's twenty thirty minutes a day You know this is something that even i. I have been told even by my wife. Hey you know. Even though i deal with twelve to fourteen hour days i still have to be able to find time for myself because at the end of the day. If you don't take care of your health No one else well right so no absolutely and you bring up a good point. I think that that a longtime that quiet time is very very important if not critical for overall health. Because you know. I know with me i get to going and blowing so hard sometimes. Yesterday is a good example. You know. I didn't get home and settled down really to like eight. Then i had to turn right back around and pick up my daughter from her job that she has and when i got home last night i think that's why eight all the cards i was looking for some dopamine eight in you know some people do of course stressing Some use it as comfort. You know but you can still especially during the holiday season. You can still find ways to eat things in moderation. It doesn't mean you have four turkeys now for cookies and the next hour four cookies and it's a matter of making making better choices if you eat about every three or four hours of of some type of nourishment good balance of protein and fats. That will actually help. The reality though is and especially during the holidays and you know one more families Are none of us. Grew up with Boil chicken breasts and broccoli up with Something else some other type of processed foods that that's the true reality. I especially with all my clients. I mean some of my clients. Call it a my job job security right but i i still you know i want them to be able to find Find moderation So thankful that they are still consistent with their workouts And that's really what it comes back to you still. It's best to stay consistent and stay away from the. You know what i'll start on monday or you know what. I'm just going to wait until the new year There's no such thing as waiting until the new year. It's actually best to still find that time. So because it's not just for for the the weight gain So to speak. But it's also a four year for help you know You wanna be able to think think correctly. Think be more productive You'll be amazed with how much better you feel after that workout. Oh yeah yeah so. Yeah no i just worked out a lesson forty minutes ago. I was on the spin bikes for about twenty. Three minutes Hitting it hard. And you know. And i broke a sweat feel good. I haven't had time for a shower yet. Just throwing that in their thirty. But but you know so. You're saying that we really shouldn't take a break during the holidays with the with the mindset that oh we can come back strong with our workouts in the new year. It's better to stay consistent and not you know yes. Have a few cookies or drinks here. And there are things that you know please your palate or maybe traditional food that you haven't had. I haven't had homemade italian cookies like that in years. 'cause i just haven't had time to make myself. And they were so good. I mean they were. They were killer. But you i really. That's it so. I i gotta i gotta tamp it down. I got a step on the breaks. Right yes and it's a matter of at least saying look i. You are going to be bartered with parties Of course maybe not as much nowadays just from our society but the reality though is that you're still gonna have those comfort foods You and you know especially in our organic. It's kinda rude to actually say no to everything. I'm so you know having a little bit here and there. I am in spread out. Spread it out throughout the day. You know kind of make better think of making better choices. I on the other meals right. It doesn't have to be you know all heavy meals but even a protein shake or or a bar a healthier bar right So and i mean nothing tastes good. It's fit bills. Yeah oh what is doesn't. Isn't that the truth. that is so true. I wanna put that on a t..
