"It stopped because mainly it was the confluence of a couple of tributaries that fed into the Skaff River and it had rained and this cooled the flowing lava the lava mounted up as in kind of dam. And you can still see that the state you can walk up to. The village was spared. Stein Grimsson became somewhat somewhat of a famous person. People credited his fire mass. I think he knew exactly what he was doing. I've looked at the location where the church was in the lower carbon. He realized that that was not ready for. And that's why. He called the Serb he gets people. In the church everyone goes and prays can come out alive. I had stopped year. Actually giving even the people hope again having that was very deliberate but the lava wasn't actually the biggest threat because what was causing more trouble where the poisonous gases viewing from lack. This was a very sulfur and fluorine rich eruption eruption so they would have been smelling sulfur. And they've tasting inman rather bitter scent and taste to the air and there was no escaping. It polluted everything with it. The ground was salted in fluorine which is highly toxic substance in many areas. The sheep sheep as she got flourine poisoning and die as a consequence of that later on some of them within three days sped for most of them. It took a bit longer time. Yawn recounted how livestock were growing. Ill and dying the SNOUTS NAS two thousand feet of livestock gracing a walking on the grass turn bright yellow in raw. He was superstitious man. And all this struck him as a bad sign of things to come. They read almost everything he's written. And I feel like I've till idyllic on channeling and he subscribed to that there were spirits spirits and hidden folk in the ground which a lot of ice lender simone to to this day. Believe any believed in signs importance that kind of thing It appears that some people started dying from fluorine poisoning likely from drinking water or eating food laced flooring four he poisoning at that level is horrific. People were to get mouth sores. Their gums would swell and bleed their teeth would fall out inside a gastric problems and their tongues. Sometimes.

So that's a lot of lava as the lava traveled across the countryside. It destroyed farms and villages in its path. So you can imagine if you're farmer and your farm just happens to be down downslope former. This enormous Gash opened up in the landscape. Well you're kind of screwed because all that lavas coming towards you. So the most immediate impact was the folks who've right there and they had to flee. "And I guess he attacked in order to have the same first part of their name. The all the Grizz were together there, the Grendel wall Grimsson grimace grimace is there to right? He's one of the bad guys. Yeah. It's it's unclear what it's like his Grimsson supposed to be making credence distrust the ministries by attacking him. So that he'll go into the hands of Grundel wall. Like, how does Grimsson fit into into walls plan? It's it's a very elaborate way. I think to keep keep him searching for answers about his background. I guess I mean as it turns out that that the maid of the servant that he was interviewing it turns out. They were talking about different babies the entire time anyway as the boiler. So the whole thing was Willard for later in the movie, you're like spoiler alert for the movie were describing in detail, right? Case you're gonna listen to this and go watch into walled. You don't wanna know? What happens? Jacob Newt they find that guy that Tina met, and he goes, I'll take you to her and imprisons them in a dungeon. So he can go kill credence, but then he drops unconscious and pick it the little plant man opens the gate, so it's one of those moments where you're like why did any of this just happened? Hold on a second. They were trapped by two seconds. The guy who was going to go kill credence you. I was like, oh, they're gonna have to break out and catch him and stop him. No. He literally just dropped. Its I thought dead for no reason. And because he had like a parasite him I can figure this out later. They had they had to have a way for Newt's commander. Save the day. Again, pulling strings out of guys eyeball. He pulls a little worm Leach out of the guys eyeball with a pair of tweezers in the only real body horror moment in the movie. This was Kronenbourg film. Grindelwald Kronenbourg pretty pretty similar wouldn't the ones be better. If they were fleshy in twitchy, I mean to the weird gynecological instruments guys, I agree with all of what you're saying. Right now, every I can never get over the fact that the movies are supposed to the wizard supposed to be kind of tough and imposing, but they all do their magic by holding out tiny sticks that so they're always like a ha and they bring up that tiny stick and every time it's like hilarious looking to me. It's like if it was like, I'm like, if the punisher you had a gun that shot noodles, basically like that's what it feels like to me. And he's like I'm gonna punish you by hitting fifty times, the wet noodle shooter people. So Newt teams that lion. Serpent beasts that escaped from the circus and stuff that nece his suitcase. Hey, is that lions I kinda like that fantastic beast. It's a cool fantastic. Beasts it is genuinely fantastic. And I bet you like it because it acts like a cat. Yeah. All you need for you. That would that signals thing that will give you way too much attention, and you are allergic to exactly it would love me. And I'd be sneezing the whole time. Oh, forget about it. Finally, we go to where we always wanna go Ha's like your wife lately. Just like your wife. But unfortunately, she makes you sneeze. Also a pepper base. DOD? This is this is another one of those scenes while wall, I like this fantastic beast, they were like right at the end of one scene in the here. Roar and like, oh that must be the monster. And then all of a sudden they're just in the street like freaking out because of monsters break yet. Here's something that I've the movie is like the movie knows that Newt has no idea what he's doing the movies. Like, let's just throwing things at him. We'll just keep things going. Here's the thing that I was unclear on. Yes. So like much of the first movies concerned with how they keep them. Magic a sequel secret from the muggles constantly in this movie. Big things are happening out like magic things are happening in the world. And no one seems to be concerned. I'm like are there? Just wizards around like notable saying this. I don't know what I wasn't sure what things were happening in real Paris..

"She can read minds, and this is probably weird for her. Yeah. But like not enough of the movie had indicated that was going to happen. This is also at this point was when I started to realize, maybe this isn't Newt's commanders movie. This maybe this is more of a Dickensian like multiple characters intersecting, lots of different plotlines and secrets because it's around here that the movies because it set in olden times, I mean different olden times than the when dickens said into dickens 1927 was the far future a fantastic era of fantastic beasts and Grendel Wald's and wars between magic users. Can you mention if they found I wonder if if they found like an old Charles Dickens, manuscript that was about a wizard that thing would sell like hotcakes. Right. That'd be a huge hit. I guess I'm saying it's like a dickens thing. That's like like. A wise story about vampires work. I mean, he never he never finished. The mystery of Edwin drood maybe much of wizards came in at the end his plan. I mean, maybe Luke Skywalker jumped in at the end who knows? But like, he's fucking awesome. This time any like battles and shit instead of being a wimp. Yeah. That'd be so funny. If the mystery of Edwin Trud was supposed to end with all the characters from his previous book coming back in a shared dickens verse. And so it's just like a lot of like, how am I going to stop them? And then pip shows up you'll have my my strong, right hands. And then like. Like like, David Copperfield shows up, and he's like, let's feel this copper. They all have their catchphrases. Oliver twist, of course, contrast like plastic or or rubber. He has that power. He comes into. Yeah. They have to go to the future to prevent Ellen more from writing a story about them. Bully them have sex for somebody Ellen Moore's gonna make us all have sex of weird ways. We've got to stop him. It depends. I mean, if it's more it's probably going to be pretty weird. But. Okay. Maybe you know, what maybe there's no weird way to have sex. Hey, Dan, L, it's doing important life lesson. I mean, I've certainly tried all the all the ways I could. And none of them that weird to me. So I mean that seems like failure of your imagination. Oh, yeah. How many times have you done it between two big Lices bread? Like, you were part of a sandwich. You're right. Checkmate. Dan. Credence in the Guinea, also anyway, because we're this movie is about to stop being about Newt and start being about the family of Lita l'estrange, which will get to so credence in Guinea, they find this old servants who was working for his mother who gave him up for adoption, and then they're attacked by Grimsson credence fights back by becoming angry smoke monster Stewart now that I know that he has this kind of dark side to him that makes more sense to me. And he just makes he makes a mess. He's just hurling the room at Grimson over and over again, and then Grimsson just leaves. And this would be cooler. I think if it was clear what was going on like again dance. I think the whole movie would would follow that that August. Filmmakers your movies were exciting when it's clear what's going on. That's why no one goes. Hey that thrill ride last year at Marian bad. It's a rollercoaster. I guess I'm trying to say that I feel like the action scenes particularly poorly choreographed and unclear and I think the idea of like a room exploding. Then like the shards being thrown over and over again at lake an impenetrable bubble like trying to crash into is like neat and kind of scary. But it's it's hard to figure out what's going on for a while. I mean, most almost all action scenes are better when it's defined like there's a little more rules definition. And knowing what the stakes are knowing what's going on. That's why like, you know, all the like good martial arts movies are the same way. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. So we find out Grimsson is working for Grindelwald..

"His writings grew steadily more apocalyptic until he finally designed mission statement that defined the processes goal. The mission statement was inspired from the book of revelation and the fourth verse of the seventh chapter it stated that one hundred forty four thousand human souls would survive Armageddon. Did it Grimsson stated that the one hundred forty four thousand survivors would be one hundred forty four thousand process members disseminated throughout the world. But to boost their numbers by one hundred forty three thousand nine hundred people they needed to get busy recruiting emission that proved to be a slow. Going as it had been in London. Hundreds of people reportedly visited the Royal St. chapter, but only six joint because their church was split between New Orleans and London. They were spread thin financially to help both their financial status, and they're recruiting tactics that a Grimsson filed for church Inc. On June twenty first nineteen sixty seven as a recognized church. There panhandling was sanctioned as tax exempt donations. It helped the church stay afloat and also laid out a clear path for where they would set up their next chapter houses, namely, the cities that also recognize them as a state sanctioned church. The process found that the majority of their new recruits fell into one of three categories middle to upper class youth who valued a higher calling over finding a career college students who were unhappy with their majors and uncertain about their life path and finally lost souls who crave. A family family was very important to Marianne. She chose members new names and titles which was their way of rejecting societies great forces if a recruit also known as an outside process was promoted to the lowest rank of messenger. They would get a new name later senior members were given secret sacred names uttered only in their ranks company. This was a fairly brilliant ploy. I'm Marianne part. It created an environment of exclusivity for lower level members to aspire to this is actually a move used in business to drive product sales. The fabrication of exclusivity, according to Rashawn Roberts with business insider, people will always want to be on the other side of the velvet rope. Sometimes this.

"But the problem with that is then aids into mutes time. An old character. So many of these carrots. It does suffer little different a sequel Itis, the the the problem of the gang's all here that you'd like this person in the first movie Argo we have to bring them back and the curse the sequel. Give them a bit more to do. So is how Charlotte boast parents go from being really brilliant comic relief. The first transformers to my goal. Someone drop a wardrobe on them. At the time to third and fourth films rolled around around the so little character development for so many in this movie news, brother beyond them, being an all and brother what to be known about nothing, and you can say that about so many counters in this movie, and that's a problem. I liked the inclusion of I thought he would have multitude by light tame as somebody who I genuinely believed in the big brother little brother relationship that his older the is a bit more series. He's a bit more grown-up. But you also has a low of standing his brother and why he is the way he is. When he offers new opportunity at the start to become an aura to take a stand to have this pretty bad ass job. And you kind of could lead to sit down as the as he no he's going to do. He's he's not mad him about it. He the hasn't understanding with him. I do wonder if that's partly where this is heading to the fact that news has decided to actually he does need to take side. And and what's coming up? Whether one thing we might see over the next few films is him maybe becoming an aura, which I think it'd be an interesting journey for that carry interesting who who is the is Grimsson these the evil clearly. Evil, or who basically in Trump's meeting with Theseus and the other ores and Newt and nucleus history with this guy because he leaves him minute. He sees him. And then he turns up at credence as place. He's the one who can talk speller on himself. So that credence is obscure powers don't affect them, whereas blown everyone else away. And I'm fascinated because he is so all evil why would send him after credence administered? Magic is notoriously terrible evil people. Do you think they're slightly too many kind of slightly Nana Mus kind of old white man characters in this supposed to kind of know who they are? But they're also not really about distinctive, but they will have on. Going to blow your socks. But even the ones who are visually distinct like is it rosy? Poppy, Corby Tisch, I only know her name because it's written on. I'm DB named in the film. This is evil. Fold? Yeah. So there's a lot of those kind of cards, and that's falling. You don't always need. Everybody's have a detailed JK rolling back story on the screen. I understand that. But at the same time, I don't know. Maybe just wouldn't it be more effective if he had a bit more of a sense of the people around him, if he's the great seducer is the great, you know, personally twist people against their instinct striking visually. But yes. Guy crawl who gets consumed by the fire at the end. And again, I get the feeling just more to his story that we haven't seen more that sort of wide is far concealment. What's a what's it about? Because there's a sense that he's maybe not as committed to Grunwald slash fold as the others. But we need to see that..

"In fact, we think this is FOX, and let's he will not be. And again, we think it's FOX we don't don't know. We don't know more evidence that this could be a lie Grynbaum clearly lead credence to find Armagh. He says to inaugurate has men I want you to go to the circus. Now give my not credence begin his journey. Okay. He wants him to find this person. Why? Then after that info leads credence storm Grimsson who followed him there shows up and kills he waits long enough for her to confirm that she was a servant at his mother in that she gave him to MRs baritone, but before she can share any other information. And then we get to see more we see Grimsson and grinned evolved in an alley and Grimson says she's dead. Clearly, this was the plan that they were supposed to lead him to get a glimpse of this person. Learn a little bit and then have the pipeline of information caught off to be under their control. Why do you need to control the information? If it's true, right? You only need to control it that way. If it's a lie. In grin devolved after asking. How did the boy take it? He says they then sign off to each other by saying for the greater good just a reminder of the way operates is above. And here's another one note that Greenwald as graves didn't know who credence was in beast one was trying to get credence to work for him to find the child in his vision that child in his vision who had no suspicion that it might have been created rife in bee's one. He says, you have magical, and so she, but no power. He says, you know, you're a squib can smell it on. You clearly does not know who credence his so why now why now has he discovered how quickly could he find it out now on any has an clearly a wide operation of minions working. But on the other hand, he was in Makusa custody for six months only three months passed since then is three months enough time after learning that credence was the obscured. Find out this truth a truth that would be so deeply buried that possibly Dumbledore doesn't even know it this moment in time. And that it never. Reaches the likes of savory to skier when she's writing about the life and lies of Albus Dumbledore, she dug deep, and if you never found this. It means it didn't make it far enough presumably or it was buried deep. Also, let's remember that Grenville has Abernathy and co go get the bucks from the l'estrange family record lie posit at the ministry implanted in the two. Now, there's a practical answer, which is they wanna lower everybody to one place again into the jaws could it also be that something about that information was altered that there was a benefit in having people believe that particular version of the Corvus story, and then be perfectly receptive credence in particular, perfectly receptive to this information because that rumor that had been swirling about him being a l'estrange had been closed. He needs to use credence as a weapon, right? He has to against Dumbledore. He says to crawl RIP crawl tough look for my crawl earlier earlier in the film. He says who represents the greatest threat to our cause. Now because of the blood pact. We think about a mostly obviously from Dumbledore perspective naturally. But let's think about it for a moment from Brinda volts perspective. He can't move against Dumbledore either. This is crucial. We cannot lose sight of this. That means he needs someone in these crawl you going to do it. Right. Like, no, I can't touch that guy. Getting nobody can Dumbledore legend his standing his stature well established in this film of what his reputation was at this point in time. He needs to wield credence as power the obscures his power. He says credence is the only entity alive who can kill him. But it's not just about power magical ability. It's about the emotional impact. Brinda vote. Was there when Arianna died? He knows what we have peace together since we met credence in the first film that Arianna Dumbledore was an obscure right to he knows that what the impact of dumberer being faced with an obscure..

You're very vocal. It was great. It was awesome. Purposefully set myself down next to you because I wanted to see a reaction because I know how excited you say. So satisfying. Creep out like him. I'm glad that. I don't know. He just seems like the worst and is. Happy in life at the end of the move. Just glad he's not happy. That's cool. I don't know. I don't like him. He doesn't he's going against baby. Boy, new and anyone that goes against Newt doesn't deserve happiness 'cause he needs protected. He's a he's just so pure and genuine that's Dumbledore loves them. And I love you know, what he's doing though, his orders from grim from Grunwald or to watch over credence and keep him safe. For the greater good. So technically he's doing that instead of turning credence into the ministry. So he's just following grennell. Like he was supposed to like kill credence. Right. Then he's he was like the ministry is going to be mad when they find out. I missed kills Irma. Instead, right. Not technically. It's a good thing. He wasn't working with the ministry credence would probably be gone. Oh, that's true. We don't want credence gone. Do you think he's going to be gone next movie or anything? He's still no around maybe in the next one. But I think not three because you just found out about him. He's not gonna go away. Yeah. He's gotta stay. He's got to see all of his powers now that he has. Oh my God. All I could think about in that scene was how freaking excited as a must have. Wanted to have a lawn. Like he's been so sad. And now finally house, but they had to do so many takes I where he like couldn't stop smiling. And then they eventually got his serious. Face. His one is amazing to square. Yeah. It's pretty Endel frigging grown evolved like up Asli. I have a gift for you. My boy. Here's a question. Do you think he's going to stick with that one because the one chooses the wizards? So I think he's a spare in case. Yeah. Like did. He like have this made for him. I think so core mature somebody seems like pretty powerful with that one. He seemed like he like connected with the instantly and just like blew up that mountain. He's just had so much magic. That's what I mean. Maybe you so powerful that he really anyone. "The company which operates japan's fukushima nuclear plant has been putting in place the final section of a three hundred twenty milliondollar wall of freezing ice designed to stop contaminated water flow into the pacific is more than six years since an earthquake and tsunami of the northeast coast of japan caused three of her kashima's reactors to meltdown in the most serious nuclear accident in a generation malcolm grimsson is a nuclear expert at imperial college on he told james queuer asami the ice war is designed to reduce the volume of radioactive water at the site the plant was built into a mountain and water flows from the mountain to the safe through some of the underground rocks when they build the site they built some quite strong wolves would main water wouldn't get into the plant probably in the earthquake itself these wolves were broken and so water can now flow into the site and then through that towards the safe and the problem is a second set of water the ones they used to keep the temperatures down after the accident itself has become very very heavily contaminated with radioactive material so they w what is happening at the moment is that the natural water flowing through the site picking up some of that radio tutte in carrying it through to the say why the ice will well they need some sort of physical barriers and it's an interesting question not entirely sure why they didn't use a steel war concrete wall now as walls have been used to prevent a flow of groundwater in things like building tunnels or things are but never response i'm aware for a longterm project and certainly never on the social scale that we're talking about here and that's what this if this is for the long term.
