"To court. ASAP, you're on in just a little bit with Grigor Dimitrov because of the fact that Maxine Crecy had a stomach bug. So all of a sudden he's in the tournament. Obviously as you know all too well, you battle with roughly on the doll that is excessive on the body. So you don't hydrate in the way you probably need to for a proper tennis match at 9 o'clock, 10 o'clock, whatever it was. So he comes in, plays the first set, somehow wins the tiebreak despite the fact that Dimitrov had plenty of opportunities. This whole match is so good. It was like a peak cause off match. And it was a great crash course of seeing kozlov do kozlov things at this level where he's really just junk balling. 90% of the time. And Dimitrov looked silly out there at points because and this is something that, you know, like these great junk ballers, whether it's cod stuff, whether it's probably people honestly probably seeing more of like Madison Bengal. On the women's side who just gives like no pace, really disrupts big hitters, throws them off. And so like, yes, Grigor is missing these shots that just looked terrible, but if you're watching kozlov, he's doing things to take Grigor constantly out of his comfort zone. And yeah, and it was a fascinating. Yeah, he has to have Stefan has that hand skill to just redirect absorb your pace and just move you around and it doesn't look like he's doing much, but he is doing something. And they're all just like higher than you want or lower than you want or just like it's always just like not in your strike zone. Correct. Yeah. That being said, the missed volley from Dimitrov. And I can't remember the exact score, but it was a set point for him where he had a high backhand volley and just instead of just like literally all he had to do was just block block the volley into the court points over. He wins the set and he just goes for that flashy style volley right through and just smacks it right into the top of the tape. After that. Right. Oh my God. And if he puts that ball in, probably a straight set win and we're done and that we don't really tell this fun story. But instead he misses that and then causal off steals the first set and then the cramping in the second set where kozlov and it was a full on full on cramp. There is no doubt if you saw the pictures if you saw the close up video with his leg like taught. It was quite serious and probably Ben, I think he was probably given a little bit too much time in lenience to deal with it with the rules. I think that's probably fair. And to Grigor's credit, he didn't make a big deal of it. He probably could have, and I don't mean a little deal. A lot of players wouldn't a lot more correct. But kozlov, I know there were some pedialyte that was brought out to him on court and just somehow found his way through it because of the excessive time that the finish of that second set. And then, you know, he started going for a little bit more. It kind of freed him up. He was thinking about that instead of maybe overthinking what he was trying to do and just playing. One that second set setting up a match with Nadal in the second. And I mean, it's just just a phenomenal story because as I've said and we did a podcast with him, Noah, Rubin and I, he's been through a lot, cause has been through an awful lot just two years ago, he's about 500 in the world. Really struggling to have any motivation to play at all without promoting my podcast too much on yours, Ben, but go for it, go for it. We was a really introspective interview with him and he just talked about the difficulties he's had, just trying to find his way back after such an incredible junior career. And this level of dedication he's had over the last year to start in 15 K's literally about a year ago now and then find his way back into challenger main draws and then just start really having that big run in the fall and playing in his first Grand Slam ever. First Grand Slam main draw average. After, again, Grand Slam finals as a junior. That's remarkable that it's taken him that long. He was in a challenger final at 16 back in Sacramento against same query. I mean, it's like, holy hell, this kid has so much. And it's such a great redemption story, the work that he's put in, and he's a fun spirited player and one that's really fun to watch as well. So I'm happy he had the moment and I hope that he continues just to build on it. Yeah. No, it's been great scene of no one his story knowing having known him as a junior and I could say absolutely elite Jeremy two junior slam finals and then it wasn't coming from him and he also didn't get as much help as he might have. I mean, he was certainly in range for a couple U.S. open wild cards, especially that he didn't for sure. And then you could maybe feel a little bit hard done by at times from that. But then yeah, but then his capability to sort of like you said start back to the bottom earnest way up and be playing, you know, just seeming like a lot more professional kind of presence on tour at this point. It's really cool. Yeah. And that whatever Dimitrov obviously you moved on to the match you got next thing that's at all. But the winner gets to make sure it's our biggest benefits career. I think so. That's a big statement when over someone like Dimitrov. And obviously it came with ridiculous highs and lows and stuff and stories. Marooned at sea along the way. Another sort of goofy things about it. I was happening really late at night and all these sorts of stuff. But that was impressive. That was a good introduction to a wider ATP kind of fan base to see to win that kind of match. And seeing Nadal in these listen, he's knocked out three Americans so far to get to the semifinals in kudla and then kozlov and Tommy Paul last night. And it's been really interesting to see some of these young Americans, especially in cause and Tommy Paul. Bagels in both for sets, but then once they kind of settle down and get over that intimidation, just like I can actually play with these guys and the second set Nadal and Kosovo was entertaining and last night's Nadal and Tommy Paul second set was actually really pretty high level while Nadal was struggling with his very, very, very sweaty shorts and shoes. I don't know if you saw Ben, but he literally couldn't put a ball in his pocket because it was too wet. And his shoes were sopping wet and he told me afterwards that he had forgotten to bring an extra pair of shoes. So there's a lot going on here, but yeah, that redemption story is going to be one that sticks with me for a while and I hope he continues. Yeah, good to see him, hopefully, both momentum and indie world's Miami. We hope and yes, see how he keeps rolling. Because he was somebody who second pieces as a Segway. Was in the junior mix to players like I'm looking at this 2014 Australian open boy. He beat Rublev in the quarters of that tournament two and one. So isn't that league? And then he lost in the final to Alexander's thereof, who became who played the match after kozlov and his late night in Acapulco. Went really late. I couldn't stand for this whole.

"And yeah, so I think whoever whoever's in that line of the draw I actually really like to get through this. I would love it feel like I'll feed smash that'd be cool too. Yeah, that'd be very, very fun. Dan Evans is also in the section of the draw. What was he chirping off about? Last night. Oh, he was mad that carotid took a toilet break. He was there. He goes to toilet. Yes. I make a toilet. No, he said he said, I go to toilet. Yeah. I just go through toilet. It's the best. I was one forever. Love that guy. It's a pass is the next one as we scroll up through this draw is his quarter of the draw the fourth he's the number four seed. He plays Michael eamer very speedy fella in this section of the draw. He could get a very one hand back full backhand full match against Dimitrov in the third round. Dimitrov looked actually really good in Melbourne, lost to, but still looked good. He opened the pairs in here too. Taylor Fritz Keller Chris was the first player as I tweeted, who I saw being followed around by the Netflix camera crew. So listen to see what they're casting choices and rubrics are. It becomes more clear who they're picking who they're not picking. But they're picking Fritz. So it's a parent to say that he's already been he's already recorded his stuff, or is that what he said? Since I said he was like, he had known about it for a while. He's really excited part of it. Basically, this is Paul said. Okay. And then I've said, I don't know anything about this. So that was the contrast of answers there today. Plus. Pass has been shaky. He's had an elbow injury. He's not playing his best. I actually really like this draw. If he can get through this, I really like the show for Dimitrov. I have this like weird. For some reason, Courtney. I don't know why. Tell me I'm crazy. But I got on the plane, thinking, you know, it'd be cool if Grigor Dimitrov only Australian open. Like, let's just do it. Let's sign up. People would sign up for that in a heartbeat. Be so fast. It'd be such a sign of a event. And I'm looking at it and I'm thinking, you know what? I just watched the Wimbledon movie so improbable things happen. Dimitrov is not but if you can get past it to pass, and aerospace is not a full strength. After it's about to get Fritz or Bali Batista, and I think anyone either of those. And yeah, and then the next section is rude or center. Yeah, I mean, come on. Murray's in there too, Demeter's in there, but this could be. I mean, Grigor for the title, baby. I mean, why not? Let's just do it. Let's just put things in the universe. Griggs for Raleigh G let's go. Yeah, exactly. No, Aussie G. There you go. Very into that. Very into that idea. I mean, they would be, again, like let's step back. Clean, would it be? This is the thing, like tonight, right? When coconut one. Yeah. That was one of those things that was just like united tennis. Like nobody is mad about that. You know what I mean? And it was just like, this is great. It brings the community together, we're getting those sorts of results, Maddie, making the final people were really, really into it. You know, like there are just certain figures in this sport that are just like the opposite of polarizing, or they polarize into unity. Like not a thing, but okay. Not a thing, but like, hey, I learned. I was gonna make a make a joke about one of our favorite Twitter accounts, but I won't. And their use of the English language. But yeah, so it would be amazing if after all of the sturm and the drang and all everything that you just got like feel good stories. I just want it and I just want for men to tennis a champion of this is my wish for men tennis this year. A champion who is surprising. Someone who is not either a big four or big three, because Andy would be very sprouting at this point and roger to actually this point. And rapha kinda tastes like we got to not know that although I made it interesting for myself too at this point. So maybe there's no one. But then someone who's also not like, it's been their turn for a while. You know, not one of the next three, not like even Rublev. I want to throw in there too. Not agreed. Someone who's not obvious. Someone who, again, like a Grigor, like let's say like Chapo, like someone in that said, yes, cross up a fitness description. Someone like demeanor, someone like who people have heard of, but it's not quite been there. Hatching off. Whoever I'm looking at the other side, the people who fit this category, who I just think it'd be nice to spread the love around Mormons tennis, to hear more people in draws with calling cards. That's what we were saying when your boy hubie won Miami. It's like nice to have hubie like B and Miami champ and have that be something to identify them and you just need I think because the women's Charlotte people have calling cards and the men no one calls them. I think that the thing about it and obviously, you know, this is effectively what has happened on the women's side is that you need these, I don't want to outlier result is not fair, that's not how I want to characterize some of the slam champions. But you do need some of these surprising results. In order to motivate everyone, people can not just be ladies in waiting. They can't, it's not interesting to me as a tennis fan or sports fan to follow a sport where there seems to be.
