"Watson routes give espn dot com has reported that not only. Is andre drummond. Kind of getting shut down for this whole trade talk discussion but also his former detroit. Pistons teammate blake griffin. It sounds like we'll be held out of the lineup. Until they can sort of figure out what his next move is is there a trade available for blake griffin or does this have to be a very extensive buyout situation where you know blazing to give some money out to get his freedom to go play for a good team. How do you resolve. This blake griffin situation. And why are they going to shut him down. I mean he's been very rough. So far this season i think a lot of people have noticed that he hasn't had a single dunk all year. Which just seems incomprehensible for the player. He was earlier in his career. He's basically a three point line. Two three point line Shooter at this point if you wanna put it that way in terms of his impact Is there a way out for detroit. Here or what are they doing man the blake griffin situation is is pretty rough Yeah he just hasn't had a very good season not moving. While he's only thirty one which is like hard to believe. Honestly i you just look at them and you think that. He's like in his late thirties. Ve how long he's been in our like our collective conscience and how great he used to be You would like to think that he could have an impact a positive impact on a championship contender. I don't know if that's possible anymore. Especially when he's not hitting the three ball and he's not hitting the three ball even though he takes a bunch of them so i don't know man like it will be. It'll be really interesting if they do. Waive him even though like. I don't have the limit. I'm trying to find the contract numbers. I know he's still oh quite a bit of money. So that's gonna be really interested this year. It's thirty six point five next year. He's got a player option for thirty eight point nine. Oh so you're not gonna get anything close to that this summer. So the buyouts to have to kind of reflect that if they did kind of pursue that direction mean maybe. They're just trying to hope that they can construct a trade to dump him onto someone else's someone else eats that money next year. I don't know how you really get out of that. I mean it could be a situation where they've just decided look man like your body's not they're just take some time and hope that you can kind of get into a better spot but mean it does kind of look unsalvageable for him at this point you know and i hate to say that because there were times for derrick rose where looked unsalvageable to and he's come back to make himself like a valuable role player in certain situation You know is there. A role for a blake griffin lake career bench renaissance where he follows the carmelo anthony model right and he's only play in like sixteen minutes a game and he gives you good sixteen eighteen minutes and that's it Could that be like a second chapter for him. Thanks for making a sound. Great. I was always would you? Appreciate it. It's my proud privilege and my honor to have the next guest on we go way back almost thirty years. We used to work together. When I was in radio at a different radio station when he was in television at a different television station. But what a treasure chest full of talent great information, and he has done so much for the great state of Oklahoma regarding weather saving people's lives and keeping everybody informed and safe, ladies and gentlemen, my dear friend, and the greatest guest host that we've had so far cliff man, my milk in it. Lift Mike Moore, the thirty year ago part is right Mike mortgage and his wife Marlins Marlins here. Special. So. The tagger a longer. So so we'll we'll get to kind of more of the nuts and bolts of of what you do these nets. That's right. Do you remember when when we would do whether together the state, the other station, the other day show, the other station, and we had we had you would pitch it to you know? Yeah. Oh, yeah. This isn't just barely in the late eighties. Yeah. This is great stuff. Yeah. And the voice hasn't changed. Well, I thank you for a little bit deeper. You think so as long as it works was working, but back then, you know, we did things by mardi units. More analogs live shots with Marty's remotes all that. Yeah. So used a lot what some give us a reference point. Let's say taking taking it back to thirty years ago. I know and I joke about this. Because I knew you're coming on the show. We birthed doing weather almost. Yes. See there. Marla says. Yes almost. Yeah. The first TV station. I walked into was was KT U L. And KTEL in Tulsa channel eight dad was there. Yeah. Right. And in fact, K to you L has the same lineage as KF war does with your dad, and you and back in those days of that period was just ending back in nineteen seventy nine, and I was those fifteen decide my driver's permit, and they had uncle Zab and Mr. Zing and Tuffy which is the same see Marla shaken, hey, yeah. Because she crossed she crossed that bridge. She was on it, you know, and she crossed that bridge on Oakland. Zev Carl Bartholomew was his name and very similar lineage to KFI war in the fifties. And the sixties back with The Danny Williams and your dad and all those that golden true, great golden age of television when kids would come to the TV station and make a really an afternoon of it. Right. They get out of school early bringing in the whole third grade class, you know, or your birthday party. And they'd spend time with your dad or did spend time with mR Zing and Tuffy your uncles. But well, so that's where I started nineteen seventy nine and my first paycheck was was for a storm season's worth of work at KT. Well, that was in the spring of nineteen nine, and I got a check oddly enough is Griffin broadcasting Griffin lake broadcasting, which which Griffin is the channel nine owner here in town in Oklahoma City so Griffin broadcasting for sixty two dollars for a storm season of chasing in nineteen seventy nine in one of the photographers cars, and they let me go out there and drive that and go storm chasing. Well, let's talk about that for crazy crazy stuff. I promote I talk about and correct me if I'm wrong didn't you invent storm chasing, Mike. Well, you know, the Oklahoma patrol started all of it. And then there are the real pioneer founding fathers of the storm chasing down at OU. And there may be just a lady four or five of these guys and. They're all a little older than I am. But they started that back in nineteen seventy two seventy three and seventy four and I started chasing in nineteen seventy four, and I was nineteen seventy four did I was ten because June eighth nineteen seventy-four tornados came through Oklahoma City that afternoon it was a Saturday June eight nine hundred seventy four one up the Turner turnpike, barely missed Marlins hometown of Bristow. She remembers that day hit up by olive and keystone lake up there on the north side of Bristow. And I asked my dad, I heard it on on the AM the equivalent AM station up in Tulsa, which is K R M G seven forty. It's the Katie. Okay. Equivalent up in Tulsa of a tornado hitting drum, right, which is up there. Not too far from Stillwater and it hit a nursing home. There's a pretty high loss alive asked. My dad to go chasing. When I was ten and I saw tornadoes that day. It was incredible left such an impression that it hasn't ended to this day. I was gonna say what gave you the gumption the passion. The insight to say I want to go. Chase storms and ultimately brisk my own life. You know, I think it's a common passion that that the young kids today, and and adults share today twister in nineteen ninety-five five to me is modern times, you know, that wasn't a long time ago to me that was that's modern times to me because it was all different before twister came around, you know, and that was in nineteen ninety-five so through the mid seventies late seventies through the early mid eighties. Did a whole bunch of tornado chasing went to. Oh. You graduated second generation to graduate from OU. With my bachelors of science Nando you and chased down at OU and then got the internship KTEL seventy nine moved over to the NBC affiliate and got on TV at the age of eighteen hours. A senior at Tulsa Edison was Spencer Tillman the running back the famous running back from oh, you we we were in glee club together back in the late seventies and early eighties manner. And he had a he had this great inner voice and Spencer still does play by play on TV today for some of the pro stations. So that was cool and then eighty two up at the NBC affiliate in Tulsa, and then came down here in eighty seven. And that was it the CoCo channel five other stations star started the first alert franchise. Cocoa. And then went to four in ninety two. I remember I remembered the transition, but I'm gonna tell you what stands out most for me as your friend and professionally what stood out most was that. You were running circles around everybody else at that time, you had these storm chasers out, and you could cut you could connect you could organize and put everything together on television live, and you were doing that at five, and then you went over to four because I think you were so good and you went over there. But the whole thing is is what I'm saying is I really think that you storm chasing and marrying that to television in a presentable format not only saves lives. But I think you I think you pioneered the television part there might have been a couple that became before you that storm chased am I correct? I mean in my clothes in television that that was that was the very beginning. You know back in the early early age. Eighties was the very very beginning of all that. So what were you thinking when you were trying to put all this together your mind, how am I going to send a person out? How may going to get the information back technology was different than what was that process in my mind, in my mind, what I'm thinking is that being being from Oklahoma Marlins from bristowe from Tulsa? In my mind when I was at that age back fifteen eighteen twenty years old. I was thinking. Wow. You know, I think that the the people of Oklahoma. I really didn't always going to get into television. Brilliant tells kind of happened seventy nine it wasn't like I'm going to go being TV. It was like, no, I I love Oklahoma weather, and then TV just kind of happened, and then discount it kept going. But I thought, you know, the, the the viewers of Oklahoma that are in the pads of these storms, which are unlike any other storms in the world, and that's not a cliche. It's the real deal. They're they're bigger here. They're stronger here. They're more powerful here. When you talk about hail and straight line winds and tornado activity and flooding. It's it's totally true. I thought the viewers would why would want to see this next level of information. So they know not only where the storm is. But what it looks like? And what's the actual threat? It just made common sense to me because these things are, you know, going across the landscape and their ghost towns in Oklahoma. Because of you know, sadly because. Of small towns that have been obliterated by tornadoes, you know, especially back before their modern-day warnings back when Oklahoma state, for instance, Snyder Oklahoma, nineteen o five took a huge hit Woodward nineteen forty seven huge hit Blackwell nineteen fifty five. So I thought it's the next level is the next level the next evolution to get this information to the viewers. It seemed totally natural for me. Well, it obviously it was and you can rattle off these dates in these times does like a pro. I mean, it's pretty incredible Mike bills. I used to. Dates a lot of dates. Mike will lead to take a break real quick. Okay. Cliff Davis show, cliff Davis witty were streaming live. We got the legendary Mike Morgan on the show so hook in and hang on and stay with us. "The great thing about this team is that the three of them have each other to like they're competing against each other can't compete against RJ RJ Baird is competing Williamson and in turn is gonna make do better. But with that being said, these guys would die of boredom if it was really about just beating the other teams that they are Baird. Here's it are these guys want to both want to be the number one pick and our debate is a better basketball player. And just because he's not tearing rims down doesn't mean. He's not more skilled more talented isn't better ready to help with team win basketball games. And I think that's what he is the difference between the two of them. But no one's going to put people in the seats like Zion freshman on that team by the way name trae Jones as well. What is he on the next Zion? Is he's. One was captured. That's why he's busy or J berry before guys. Like, I don't know that we've seen anything like this the closest thing you can think of who. Does it remind you maybe LeBron with the speed net lettuces and stuff, but Bryan even was smaller than this guy. Blake Griffin lake Griffin. A combination of Blake Griffin and LA Branca's people. If you go back and look at some of the Blake Griffin. Yeah. He was putting catch him bodies. He's kicked body we showed up in the lead catching bodies. So that's probably the closest comparison. He has become the best in the way that that that Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa at one time were green how feel about that. Now there. I think that when that kid is playing you stop, and you what else is going on. Right. I'm gonna stop and you're gonna wear Alabama the warriors. Now the best. Let's let's go back to Stuart Scott if not a sports center and less you have sign Williamson highlight everyone knows every single game. Like, you're going to get a highlight insult fans are gonna go there. Just waiting for that moment. This what they should show. His sports on highlight even highlights sports even nights. But off driven was taken down by Marcus Morris. Wave off the bucket. Definitive call by Sean. These fifty five and cleared him out with a arm. Reggie Jackson with the basketball off a screen goes left wing Bullock left corner to lake Griffin. Little jab step at Marcus. That'd be careful. Lake turns around fires a shot and rattles off. No good. Jason tatum. With the rebound. Brought a guy with three thousand you ought to take its own four and a half. Second differential on the clocks Tatum near mid chord of the dribble. Fifty six fifty five Boston doubtable, Lebanon Shacklock. I'll tell you the money attacks got called the road on a switch process him over Steph back backlit back to the right knocks down. Reggie jackson. Offensive foul. Wave it off offensive foul and the fans are not going to appreciate this. Call either. Tatum fix up. The foul Robin Williams gonna come in for Boston Horford, Marcus smart, also coming into the game. More Jason Tatum. These are the fouls going on. Fifty six fifty five Boston pistons can play for the lead here. Six point eight seconds remaining. Reggie Jackson across the timeline. Got williams. Bumping him. Reggie just those it up. "griffin lake" Discussed on The Lowe Post

"Just in general there is this thing that happens with the cavs were they seem to have to be put into a corner and have some drama before they play well and it's extraordinarily exhausting for everybody the organization to go through but it has been who they've then since this team came together and one of the most remarkable parts of the book was this email or you're gonna live you're going to ruin what am i fog which is definitely go continue so after they went after the fell down three one david griffin lake i i don't know like in a stream of consciousness early in the morning this is the day they're going to fly to golden state with their season looking in really bad shape nobody'd ever come back they were going out there the warriors had booked they're you know they're they're getting ready for drew their parade there preparing their their party as they should absolutely there is no problem with that because there's no reason to believe they when when and david griffin rights this stream of consciousness email that we got our hands on and by the way griffin not give it to us like we heard about it and cause people you know we just raving about it after it was all over and they're like this email was unbelievable here i wanna make clear the email is in the book it's worth three pages plucked some of it is in caps lock in a very popular in the gathering invasion on leaving the says the cavs a tradition of using a different type faces in science in loads of communication you got the email it's extraordinary.
