"I'd like to report our feckless governor Gretchen Whitmer. We literally killing people, but not provided on a second. What are we saying here that she's denying covid treatment so vis a vis holding back treatments is hurting people. Exactly exactly what she's doing. She's she went as far as signing a mammal. Preventing doctors and clinics. From prescribing, Uh The medication that has been curing people all over the world. Sure medication that was, um Medication is that you know, we have We've seen that help people all over the world. Like, uh um You know her son. Let me just jump in real quick and thank you so much for the call. You know it's interesting because I just looked at an article today. It's from last week, but it's coming out of Idaho. Of all places. Big shout out to all of our listeners in Idaho. And it's not so much about the pros or cons of these. These, um Benefits of drugs like I ever met in and hydroxychloroquine, But it's about how I remem has disappeared from pharmacies because of there's the demand for it right. There's such a high demand for it that they just can't keep the shelves stocked. In I've ever met in pharmacies. And this in particular in Idaho, which I thought was interesting, because you know, we used to rely on a free market and we used to pay attention to the things that worked and it seems like we're in bizarro land now. NIH Director Dr. Francis Collins Will Be 'Surprised' if Booster Shots Aren't Expanded

"Dr francis collins was on with chris wallace yesterday on fox news. Sunday had a pretty interesting thing to say about authoritative statements. Now i immediately thought of people. Like cuomo gretchen. Whitmer gavin newsom. Because there's just no question that the tyrannical impulses have been realized by a lot of major democrats. Listen what francis collins from the nih said to chris about well his view of authoritative statements. We'll have to see what they say ultimately about the youngest individuals because of concerns about benefits and risks. But i will be surprised. Boosters are not recommended for people under sixty five going forward in the next few weeks. But we'll wait and see you know chris. What you're seeing here is science playing out in a very transparent way. This is the way it ought to be a little trouble. That people are complaining that the process isn't working for them. The process is to look at the data. Have the experts considerate and then make their best judgment. At that point recognizing the judgments may chain if people want an absolutely authoritative statement about. Here's the right answer. Well that's not. What our country is all about moved to china. You'll get it there now. That could be interpreted in a variety of ways. Perhaps he's simply saying we're sort of making this up as we go. We admitted we're not going to give authoritative savings. that's how i read it.

Conservatives Should Focus Exclusively on the Hypocrisy of Obamas, Liberals

"So Obama's having this big birthday bash in Martha's Vineyard we see this weekend who is a Muriel Bowser, liberal mayor of Washington, D. C. Officiated. The wedding was out there No masks and stuff like that. But now we know that we Gretchen Whitmer has done this Gavin Newsom all the Libs. Who else was a Cuomo? We saw no mask and stuff like that. Now, here's the Here's the kind of the conundrum. The quandary I find myself in. The dilemma. I don't want them to wear masks. And I don't want Obama to cancel his party. And unlike Democrats, like I'm not a hypocritical weirdo fraud. I don't want them to. So here's the problem at here and with conservative news outlets to I would encourage you to think that the really seriously think this one through We should point out their hypocrisy. But we should also take a stand. Why we're pointing out the hypocrisy that What they're doing isn't wrong. It's just hypocritical. Jim is that makes sense because we're putting ourselves in a box then, like in a really bad box, because what I want to say is Obama who is a hypocrites been a hypocrites. A total fraud. I don't want to say like Obama should cancel the party. That he's having in his $12 million. You know, mansion. He said it for the little guy, folks. Income inequality champion right there. We're gonna fight income inequality where you could give away portion of your mansion of the equity in there. He won't do that. But if we start coming out against this kind of stuff, right, and we say no, Obama should cancel it. And Muriel Bowser's should wear Miss. We're feeding into the the craziness. And then, like liberals are trying to go look well. Conservatives are for masks, and they don't believe we should go on and live our lives, so we're in a real spot.

"About two. Dozen hospitals in the great state of michigan are at ninety percent capacity or above as that state steel. That state deals with a huge surge in cova crisis at least one michigan hospital the mclaren port huron hospitals at one hundred percent capacity as of this morning chief medical officer. They're saying that when his hospital tried to transfer out some of its patients with the most acute needs. They couldn't do it They faced long delays trying to move patients out because so many hospitals are so crowded. There's nowhere to move them. To as michigan cova cases and hospitalizations continue to rise inexorably without any relief at all. The michigan health and hospital association said today they expect the number of hospitalizations in the state to beat last fall's peak to head up higher than they have ever been before during the crisis at all. This is the daily new reported coronavirus cases in michigan. Right now there are dozens of states that are having covid case numbers spike across the country but michigan is by far the worst. Still though even in light of that today. The white house confirmed again that they're not planning to send an extra allocation of vaccines to to michigan. That is what governor gretchen. Whitmer is asking for to try to get michigan's crisis under control. The white house says they will send other resources to michigan to try to help but not additional vaccine supplies when you have an acute situation Extraordinary number of cases like we have in michigan. The answer is not necessarily to give vaccine in fact. We know that the vaccine will have a delayed response. COVID-19 Spreading 'Like Wildfire' in Michigan

"Spreading like wildfire. It's breaking their hearts were exhausted. Emotionally hospital admissions jumping nearly 30% in the upper Midwest. In just the past week, the CDC ranking Michigan the number one hot spot in the country and hospitals feeling the strain some patients facing 8 to 10 hour wait times those hospitalized, shifting away from now vaccinated older Americans to those unvaccinated younger adults. Now we're seeing that kind of 40 to 59 age group is the largest group that's getting infected. Certainly certainly seeing some Children. They're getting l. But it's really that young adult population that's driving a lot of the cases. So for us this surge is bigger than it was a year ago, doctors say, driving the surge, a mix of reduced restrictions, pandemic fatigue and the UK variant, which now accounts for 70% of the new cases in Michigan. The federal government now sending Michigan more personnel to administer vaccines. The governor Gretchen Whitmer, doubling down that our state needs more shots when there is a surge. We think that it's important that we we go toe we rush in to meet where that need is across the country. The supply of Johnson and Johnson

It comes about a week after authorities said they stopped alleged plots to kidnap the Democratic governor and storm the state Capitol. Meanwhile, a rally in San Francisco to promote free speech and condemned big tech censorship turned ugly Saturday. The protests come after Facebook and Twitter acted quickly to limit the spread of a New York Post article claiming that Hunter Biden used his position as son of then Vice President Joe Biden to politically influence. His father quickly fell apart and turned violent. When hundreds of antifa counter protesters rushed the event and attack vastly outnumbering the dozen or so demonstrators with Team Save America, a conservative activist group. They threw glass bottles and beat up police and demonstrators. Knocking out the front teeth of the event organizer Philip Anderson. There was heavy police presence, and officers set up barricades to separate the groups, but eventually they were forced to declare a public safety hazard. Three officers were injured after being pepper sprayed. One had to be taken to the hospital. All are expected to be okay. Despite the violence, No one was arrested. "Com we have a uniquely tough problem and it requires a uniquely office solutions and that's what we've done and certainly there are people who are just sending my orders just like there are people descending orders and Indiana Ohio Colorado all across the country that's okay I respect people's ability and right to dispense but what we need to make sure everyone of us does is observe the CDC best practices so we are not unwittingly spreading hope at nineteen the worst irony effective come about from these demonstrations is that they forced us to stay in this posture longer than longer than we're already planning skills that's the last thing any of us wants that is Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer yesterday talking about the the protests that are released are becoming more widespread in her state there was one side of her home and and it would be dubbed it operation queen's castle and it featured a picture of her wearing a crown according to box two of Detroit that one of the men who helped organize the protest Brian Hannah backer said we wanted to send Gretchen Whitmer message we didn't want to surrender our liberties for just a little temporary safety and it's interesting how it's different in different states you know if you have been missing a lot of people who are protesting in and they're doing this every day and they're outside of her home in there outside of the state house and they're in the weekends in their cars in New Jersey yeah yeah and you heard her say there I I respect people's right to dissent yeah in New Jersey a woman who organized and in car rally was arrested and charged for violating state homeowners by daring to to organize a protest so it's in any and you don't see widespread protests in some of these states against these orders because are much lower and they feel that you know the government is all powerful and all knowing and so it's okay they have our best interests at heart now the in the meantime because in light of these protests in her state the Michigan legislature has scheduled a special session for today and they're going to because they're looking to create an oversight committee to review her coronavirus orders and possibly strip her of some of her powers you know we've heard all the critics of her her stay at home orders bans on visiting friends and relatives you can travel to your vacation home she has of the sales of.

"Livin on WCBS what you may hear some of the things that are going on out there we have this Michigan mayor Gretchen Whitmer who really is disaster and she's on the tape that today show today and I want you to see how flip she is about stealing your liberties in Michigan cut forgo the overwhelming majority of governors in this country as you know if you should stay at home orders but yours I have never been considered to be among the most stringent in this country folks who have the occasion holes in Michigan at the residence we're not being allowed to travel to those vacation homes are you're you're asking stores and sell things like you know painting garden supplies having those stores shut down not considering them essential what what's what what's the thinking behind are you a particular state whole water problem retired US Michigan has the third most common nineteen cases in the nation right now and we are not the third largest state in the nation that tells you we've got a unique crisis on our hands and that it demands a unique solution so we just had so I got snow on the ground here in Michigan right now in Lansing we're expecting up to thirty inches in the upper peninsula the fact that we're cracking down on people travelling between homes or plants or landscaping or golfing really for a couple more weeks isn't going to meaningfully impact people's ability to do it because the snow will do that in and of itself did you know it's snowing all over Michigan how stupid is this one that's number one number two listen to her fascistic reasoning we're not the largest state obviously she says in population but we have the third largest number of cases so you still handle this quote unquote scientifically not like a tyrant you go to the nursing homes assisted living locations you go where the people are who are most vulnerable the senior citizens others who have heart disease in these other maladies and you tell them you in particular we're targeting you for good reason we want to save your lives just give us a few weeks maybe give us a month but some sh level wants to go into the paint store to get pains we compare this has because he's got nothing else to do or go to a a a garden center so the complaints love because I have nothing else to do what's the point of that in these private companies these private but they know how to do this stuff they're not gonna let people they you know they're not going to have a rugby scrum in the middle of home depot it's not gonna happen they're not gonna have a kissing booth you know what Sherman Williams paint store I know I go around I drive around I look at what's going on half the time I don't even get out of the car I just see that people know how to cope in the store so her argument you know just generally plans to this argument it's not good enough to do what you're doing as far as I'm concerned so this is Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan there we have Chuck Schumer on MSNBC last night pushing out a lie that's been out there all day today and yesterday that Donald Trump held back checks to help people because he wanted his signature on the checks it's a lie it's a lie the treasury department said the timing of the release of the tracks has been works in the works for a week has nothing to do with Donald trump's signature I mean hell somebody signature has to be on the track or you can even deposit let alone passion so that's been a long time it's been going on all day long because that's what the media do I'm surprised they didn't say Donald Trump was waiting to get the latter bear the sign every check personally cut six go what ask you mean the president isn't a legal signatory to checks like this I think the washing post describes it they're actually gonna have to put his name on the memo line instead of on the signature line it seems like it's sort of a remarkable ego trip from the president particularly if it's gonna happen so here they are covering a crisis this it sounds like it's a crisis when people are talking this way what what a net wishy and of course her idiot guess to Schumer who's hiding out you know trump is a brave man when you see this there he is he's in front of the media every day's meetings every day he's following the social distancing and all the rest of their telling of the duo he's leaving the country where these other knuckleheads go ahead this is in terms of when people get their money yeah I agree are Rachel I wish not my second first what's not their money when people get money.

"Castro you know one of the things that we know in looking at are what's happening in Michigan called the nineteen is that since I did a press conference just three days ago we've lost about a hundred and sixteen people a day four thousand Michiganders and died in the last week more than five hundred people alone have died governor Gretchen Whitmer is on not just numbers on a screen these are husbands and wives and otters and sons and grandparents who've lost the battle with the disease that is incredibly aggressive and contagious and deadly my heart aches for everyone of all I think that it's important to be clear about well we can come up with all sorts of scenarios where we can make an argument that someone's safe and in whatever activity it is they want to do every single exception to say home stays safe order makes this more porous makes it less likely to work means more people are going to get sick four people are gonna die and more our economy is going to suffer for longer golf landscaping and I've heard these seem to be the ones that that we hear the most from the legislature some of the Republican legislators you know it's not critical infrastructure it's just not I they are not necessary to sustain life and to be candid justify engaging in it can expose people to rest serious risk every time you ask a low income person to come out and fill up their gas tanks go get food it's additional opportunity for exposure and first plan and that's what happens when you go to the golf course you know what happened to it you have to pay someone so someone had to show up to take your money handing money you have to go and I get your tea time and hand someone your clothes possibly afterward you get out of the card after you've touched it there are people who have to show up and go to work for your recreation and we're exposing all of them to call the nineteenth as well as the golfer and so for the sake of the health of our state it's really important that we remember we're all in this together fat doing creating all sorts of exceptions to what is going to last for three more weeks what does say a hoarder as every exceptionally make Mexico more porous and less likely to be successful we know that these tactics work the man who stands next to president trump every night on his briefings Dr Fauci is and this is the most important thing we can do we've seen it have some reason to be successful in other states we have to double down right now to save lives people at one eight get exceptions I understand what what what their thought is but I'm in the business of saving lives and that's precisely what this order is going to do let's abide by it let's get through the next three weeks and then we can actually toppling talk about possibly starting to re engage in an economic sense governor have you thought about making your stay home stay safe order regional since most since about eighty percent of the cases are in three urban counties and there's still about ten world counties where it's not even traceable yeah so I think it was you know kind of along the same lines of how answered Kathy's partially covert nineteen does not observe county line it doesn't observe hearty line it doesn't observe state line that's why we really need a comprehensive policy I've been are advocating for comprehensive policy nationally one eight states already been doing stay home orders if the subject is all to risk because people don't observe state line and neither does the disease but what we can do in Michigan is observed a state wide order so that we protect everyone covered nineteen is present all across the state I might not have been detected I might not have been tested for yeah we might not have that fatality in every part of the state but it is pleasant statewide and the more people move around the more likely it is going to show up I've talked to rural hospital CEOs who are very concerned about people traveling to a second home to go to you know travel they are not equipped to deal with a covert nineteen sprite and large magnitude by people that are are coming into the communities they're asking people to stay home let's get through this crisis pressing for three weeks I know what's up as a sacrifice everyone is struggling with being isolated but the fact of the matter is we're going to save lives by observing this order and by initiating these serious provisions we don't want people traveling to second homes we don't want people are engaging their their landscaper going the golf course for these reasons the more people that are moving the more likely spread and the harder it is for us to have the flattening that were that were trying to do for the health of our all of our economy and most importantly to save lives this is a repair C. span radio programming from Friday so you mentioned that this the suburban showplace is now with me a second facility within open up to treat patients with the global center being the first is there do you want us to open up all right and do you have your eye on the third facilities some cheesy Appleby opening by Friday I've been on the phone with FEMA administrator of the the secretary of the army as well as I have been on the phone with everyone in Washington DC I think but we know that we will be up and able to accept patients on Friday at TI CF in Detroit with regard to suburban collection I'm not quite sure Dr J. we expect in the next few weeks it will be available to start seeing patients as well governor Gretchen Whitmer and Dr Ginni Calhoun Michigan's chief medical executive in Lansing on Thursday field hospital in New York has has been almost empty is there any thought that we're not going to need those additional votes in the field hospitals so we continue to monitor we're talking everyday with our hospital leadership about the number of cases that they are saying we will continue to plan and build out our alternate care facilities as needed right now at the TCAS regional care center we're gonna start with twenty five patients will start ramping up as we need to and again as we see that the data and hospitalizations one for me to be a great problem to have not to have to use all those ballots and that's precisely why the stay home stay safe order so important to stand right now you know it's it's interesting the Javits center they refer to in New York change their model to look more like TCS where it is a covert base as opposed to taking everyone's cycle that our we had confidence in our model and I was I think people see the wisdom and so that's something to be proud of that we were very different than any other state head on and now everyone's replicating you know if if if we abide by the same home order and there's evidence that Michiganders are taken seriously and from the masses of the last press conference we can see a much flatter curve and maybe we won't have to use all those but we have to be prepared in the event that they're necessary and and so we'll we'll go where the facts the science and the need takes us so in some of the grass that we saw a lot of these wooden till end of June may July could you see going that far if we don't take the right precautions enough for Saturday there's no question the better social distancing you do and the longer it happens the better your your faith will be will continue to look at the data look at her hospital capacity is doing looking at our testing is going across the state and will it will be evaluated but you're right social distancing is important and we may need to look at expanding we can operation you know we've got to crises that we're confronting right now once a health crisis in with an economic crisis we don't get the health crisis under control the economic crisis will go on and on and on Singapore we have that was considered the gold standard for combat in covert nineteen but then they stopped and now they've got a second wave that would be the most devastating thing for our state if we think that on April thirtieth I'm good you know that we just flip a switch and life returns home once that's not going to be how it was we just all have to kind of come to terms with that and that's that's the harsh truth I've had to have a conversation with my own family about you know we're going to have to be very smart about how we re engage rent to have all sorts of protections in place in order to have a lot more testing and frankly I'm hopeful in the next three weeks of the stay home order that we get access to a lot more testing so we know precisely who's recovered who's at risk who's who is someone that we should isolate all of these things are really important but we also have to worry about our economy there's no question this is going to hit us hard at Yonge I've watched my colleague governor formal with whom I've been taxing on last couple of days say you know nine eleven was hired on New York it's nothing like what covert nineteen is going to mean for new York's function and if that's the same for every state in the nation we're all in this together we're all suffering because of it what we can do is be really smart about how we re engage so that when we do re engage we are on the real track to recovery and we don't have to go out come back to this posture again this fall that would be the worst case scenario and that's why we've got to be really smart on both fronts tackling the economic crisis and and tackling the healthcare crisis.

"State line that's Gretchen Whitmer who is the governor of Michigan it's very interesting because what's gonna happen when it comes to us in November because we're gonna have voting come November it is going to take place there is still a presidential race with all of this going on they're still going to be a battle what kind of convention are they gonna have if any at all Joe Biden talked about that are you open to the idea it just may not be possible to the convention in August well we're gonna have to do a convention may have to do a virtual convention I don't I think we should be thinking about that right now the idea of holding the convention is going to be necessary but we may not be able to put ten twenty thirty thousand people want now we may not that's silly to think that we're gonna do something like that what we do between now and then is going to dictate a lot of that as well but I think you just kind of follow the science listen to the experts listen to the following she's of the world and if that's the case is the case we cannot let we've never allowed any crisis from the civil war straight through to the pandemic is seventy all the way around sixteen we have never never let our democracy sakes second fiddle way that we can both have a democracy and elections and at the same time correct the public health yeah I don't think we're gonna be in that position but I think as far as the outbreak and us getting back to normal having a massive convention I don't think that's gonna happen you listen of their the stumbling in the bumbling I look for all of trump's faults trump is one thing he's a fighter Joe Rogan who loves Bernie Sanders endorsed Bernie Sanders he was talking on his podcast about who would vote for with it being those two this is a real issue with the Democratic Party they've essentially made us all more on Jeff with this Joe Biden thing really have who do we need to vote for that guy I can't vote for him I can't vote for him I can't vote for trump there I would I'd rather vote for trump in him I don't think you can handle anything when you're relying entirely on his cabinet well you wanna talk about eight in individual leader that can communicate you can't do that no he can't that is he's struggling that's why I look at Gretchen Whitmer a lot of people think he's gonna pick somebody a a black female Stacey Abrams whose didn't become the governor of Georgia lost out on that is only held statewide office she is doing everything she can to lobby for the position Kemal Harris has been bandied about everybody's like well she's gonna pick a woman of color it's important who he picks it really is graduate Meyer they lover inside of their democratic kind of world they do she gave the response this year two trump and the speech he gave to everybody in Congress that and I sat there and said myself this weekend she's everywhere right you know he gave his state of the union here she comes she is on TV on a daily basis there's something about her that looks very much kind of presidential you know I mean you could see he struggles and a lot of stuff just listening to him bumble about IT who he picks will be the most important vice presidential candidate told birdies weekend he's going to move in to that process much sooner because I think he realizes that's going to happen and he's going to be the one but I'm with Joe at this point in time if I had if my choices are these two who you gonna vote for yeah they only have these two can't write or do anything else you have to vote I would pick trump over them now I might go right in I'm not if I I just I Joe is not the Joe the lan people remember and Bernie scares them and Bernese ideas in many ways are being played out here in front of everybody and I think that even push that towards the background of of Bernie even having a chance so now what that that's your choice that vice presidential candidate Joe you better figure out who that's going to be and is it Kamal I just think the Abrams really wanted to be interesting to see three two three five three twenty four twenty three that's events and shows reporter for twenty twenty it is the challenge Chad Benson show for some veterans who face the struggles returning from.

"Here at seven sixty w j are now, Richard. I think it's safe to assume that Gretchen Whitmer Whitmer became the governor of this great state on the platform of fixed the damn roads as we see in the front page of the Detroit News here this morning. No budget without real road funds. And here is where the debate begins. Now, she has spent weeks traveling the state and pitching her proposal to raise diesel and gas taxes by forty five cents per gallon. Meanwhile, none of the states one hundred forty eight legislators as introduced a Bill for a forty five cent gas tax increase, and this is where the game begins in essence, the governor is saying look, this is what I brought to the table. This is what I thought would be the helping point for our horrible roads in this state and by doing so what would raise two point five billion dollars a year. Meanwhile, it's just sitting there. Yeah. Nobody nobody really knows where we're going from here. No, I would think that governor Whitmer through this out as a negotiation tool, you think let's start at forty five cents. Then maybe can we work with it from that point? But the problem here in the state is everybody is an agreement that our roads are absolutely horrible. Right. And those one hundred forty eight lawmakers that you mentioned none of which have come up with a Bill saying I propose a forty five cents. No, no, none of them have done that. Nobody is sidling up to the governor on this. But none of them have said, we should not raise taxes to fix the road. So it seems like all those lawmakers even the ones that we hear from up north the up north Republicans like Chatfield, the house speaker who say that the forty five cent is a non-starter even he indicates. Yeah, we're going to have to raise taxes, but we don't know how much so those one hundred forty eight lawmakers will all be a yes. Vote ver- virtually all of them will be a yes. Vote for raising taxes. It's it's the old story though. It's not the money. That's how much well. Right. Trace everything to money. There's no question about it. But all right. Here's a hypothetical for you. Those in the know that do this for living say that gas this summer in the great state of Michigan going to be around three dollars a gallon. That's right. So throw the forty five cent tax on right now. You're at three forty five three and a half bucks a gallon. You are dangerous scenario. Yes. And you are oh. And by the way, the summer driving season coming up, and there's families that have AK Shinn's plan. And what have you, you know? It's the trickle down deck. It really is. Yes, it is. Because one thing does have to do with the other. Now, you know, I recently renewed my tabs couple of hundred bucks. Now, I was under the impression that some of that money while governor Snyder was in office some of that money because they increase some of this stuff at the secretary of state. Some of that money was supposed to go to roads. Yes, I think so I mean, there are the old scenario then when governor Snyder was in office where they put in a formula to remember they they raised money in the late stages of the Snyder administration to fix the roads. That was the Snyder fix and that included those fee increases. Well, and this is where you know. And the governor has alluded to it. And I tend to agree that what we've seen in Lansing as it pertains to fixing roads and the budgets involved nothing. But a shell game. I mean, do you as a citizen of the state, Richard? Honestly, no. Where the money to fix. The roads comes from because you know, what I'm going to be honest with you. I've heard that the fund that we have in the state of Michigan to fix the roads. Statewide is just about nothing. Really? I think I think there there are there are funds there. But most of the funds come from the federal government. Most of that comes from the federal highway trust fund, then the old formula up until now has been the more you contribute from the local and state side, the more you can get from the federal highway trust fund whether that is still in effect and how much that's an effect. I don't know. But I'm sure there is money in the pot here, but not enough obviously, clearly not nearly enough. And by the way, as a story goes Michigan is constitutionally required to have a balanced budget in place when the new fiscal year starts October first without one the state could have its first temporary government shutdown since two thousand seven and two thousand nine under former governor Jennifer Granholm, so governor Whitmer has promised that she is going to get that budget in on time. She. Lavishly praised Snyder in the early speeches after she took office. Pray Snyder for putting in the budget processes that get a state budget in early and she would be very surprising. If she didn't get that get that done. All right. So here's the thing. Forty five cent tax. Okay. That's pretty heavy. I agree. But. You drive on the roads talking you are valued listeners drive on the roads every day, and they are horrific twenty five cent tax increase does that do it for you. If you've got a plan we'd love to hear from you eight hundred eight five nine zero WJR where the truck weights get into this. Yes. Now, that's an interesting point. The heaviest trucks in America on Michigan roads. Where does that get into the the picture what lawmaker will tackle that? And how much will it get to a point where.

"Governor Gretchen Whitmer are pleading with customers to reduce gas usage after a fire broke out earlier this week at a gas compressor. They're now asking residents to turn their thermostats to sixty five degrees or lower until Friday. Every one of us can play a role in making sure that we. Get through this with minimal harm subzero. Temperatures continue to grip southeast Michigan. High temperatures won't hit fifteen degrees until Friday. Ryan burrow, ABC news today is pay day for most of the eight hundred thousand federal federal workers who were furloughed or forced to work without pay during the partial federal government shutdown the office of management and budget tweeted earlier this week that workers are quote getting paid in record time after missing to pay days during the thirty five day shutdown congress and the president ended the shutdown last Friday with a short term spending measure that will fund the government now through February fifteenth. Meanwhile, reforming the election process, or is it a power grab that depends on which side, you're on do you think of the idea of getting the day off to vote? It's something the Democrats in congress have proposed. They think it would help get more people to the polls Republican Senate leader Mitch McConnell, not a fan. Bill would make election day. A new paid holiday for government. Workers under the proposal, federal employees would be dispatched to polling places. The Bill would also require presidential candidates to release their tax returns and compel states to adopt independent redistricting commissions, the Democrats, call it election. Fairness a power grab a smelling more and more. Like exactly what it is Sherry Preston. ABC news and Columbus mayor Andrew ginther is set to deliver his annual state of the city address tonight. He will deliver the speech at east high school. The mayor is expected to discuss several issues including the current search for a new chief of police and the one billion dollar bond package with five hundred million dollars slated for affordable housing.

"Again, a prayer from shake off mid Hammoud healthy Islamic center of America in Dearborn. United on stage. Fast. Senators Gary Peters. He will now be retiring the colors as that happens. Zoe thoughts about the speech governor Gretchen Whitmer, I. I think what she did was ceremony. Presidential historian. Michigan historian. These are a handshake Kubota. Right. Governor that she wants to folks in the crowd, you folks crime actually, which is the normal for this kind of things, but these are political speech, right? This is about having Michiganders' come together. I did think it was interesting though, she she had a nod to divided government and said that we can't be paralyzed bipartisanship. Which of course, she is a democratic governor, but she's going to have a Republican majority in both the state house and state Senate. So not only a handshake with the voters, but perhaps a handshake with the legislature as well who she's going to have to work with. I think so and I think she absolutely knows this her administration knows that if they're going to get anything done. That's what has to happen in it. So interesting to think about that. We are watching this sort of bipartisanship were democracy in action while of course, the federal government shutdown. Thanks, so. What can we learn from past administrations with this type of separation between Democrats and Republicans the fastest vents that Gretchen Whitmer governor has an amazing amount of experience. And that is what we're gonna look forward to. And we're going to have to leave.
