"So my, my last name was Wehner. And so I would just quickly show it to people, and I would tell them I'm John Wayne her back up catcher for the world champion Florida Marlins IVA that worked out. Well for me. He's, you know what I mean? This gusting. Whatever, what are you talking about? Oh, he's reservations, he is a broadcaster now for the Pittsburgh Pirates. And he was, you know, he was considered someone who was fun. But he would not nothing that resembled swagger was ever and his game because backup catchers in baseball, or not allowed to have swagger did point. And so he well, unless you're Paul Baako. So Bob Natal's. Oh, so we've stumbled upon something. So John Wayne said of Derek Dietrich Daria miles Davis. Paul Bach Derek teacher has seventeen home runs against the pirates. He's got like seven home runs in twenty two at bats. He's Babe Ruth all of a sudden he was on pace to break. Barry Bonds is record for home runs per at bat there. And he because he's been pimping out the trots John Wayne, who didn't hit many home runs. Said that Derek Dietrich's grandfather would be rolling over in his grave, if he saw the amount of enjoyment that Derek Dietrich was getting out of hitting his home runs. And I'm just curious as someone who's a baseball fan and you can be anti-fun. I'm curious what you think of what's happening here. No, I, I mean, I think look those guys, especially the guys who aren't gonna hit forty year. Yeah. You gotta have fun when you hit him. I mean I had no problem and that I mean you can go too far. Maybe you know, if you're starting to point it the pitcher and things like that, but you wanna have some fun with, it have fun with it guys backup catcher hall of fame. Oh, here we go. Oh, yeah. Go. "Take. With this surprise. Brian the movie guy is with us right now, Laurence Fishburne. And it's always a little bit intimidating isn't he always a little bit intimidating? Yeah. John, John movies you? Don't see John Rick Lewis, Greg son. We see you. They say she down to clear up over your head and shoulders new tunnel you in submission with this installment? This is one of the greatest action of our time. It's, it's, it's a very, it's very violent but they really tie into whole old, this gritty underground of the SAS in Manhattan. They tied in sounds like Greek mythology in some cases and really, really works. It's an intriguing stuff I would say with his third installment, it's bigger but not necessarily better. I think it's a little bloated at times and that mythology kinda gets a little muddled. The first one the very first one it doesn't have that feisty freshness of you original, it doesn't have the Fleiss and dice building. That's after two but it still works and reads so great in this role. Oh, I know a lot of people don't like him, but he doesn't have a ton of dialogue, which worked, he's stoic. He's on months of physical and technical training to this. All he. Let's most of his talking begun by fists and various weapons. This is a movie. You have to see the other two for all of us to make sense. But it was just wanna see you kick for two hours, battle easily make sense, but you'll get a bigger payoff. If you see the attitude this is gritty, it's a it's a ballistic ballet of bloodshed. And I can't wait to see it again. Okay. What you see all three in a row now because this is, again, one of the greatest action hardcore ashington of all time. I just make sure your stomach's report, I'm gonna give John which after three A B plus at a really good time at Nari. Brian have a great weekend. Brian movie, guys with this Friday mornings here on the KOMO morning news. It's eight forty nine. Now all there's a lot of anticipation about Sunday's game of thrones finale on HBO. I know how it ends. I don't know for sure knows better than most the Entertainment Weekly TV news editor was onset when the finale was filmed last year. I could say the final episode deals with the aftermath of Danny's, devastating.

"He and his husband Monte have a dog named leeann cat hollow. Peter's dining room is adorned with smiling. Pictures of his family. That's my mom and Monte dancing at our wedding. But it took a lot of work in time to get to this happy place. When I was fifteen my parents found a men's workout magazine that I had and drew their own conclusions. They didn't talk to me about it. My dad told me we were going to go on a trip. He didn't tell me where we were going on the way there his father turned him. He said he was going to take me to therapy center to deal with whatever weird sexual stuff I had going on. And that if it didn't work he was going to send me to military school to make a man out of me every day for two weeks. Licensed mental health professionals told him that what he was feeling was sinful, and he was broken the whole thing was focused on, you know, my attornal soul was at danger here. So at this point, I would do anything they asked me to do or believe anything they asked me to believe. So that I could be fixed. One hundred percent. I wanted to be fixed. One hundred percent. Back home. He told his parents it worked, but it didn't. And he felt like a failure. When he was sixteen. He tried to take his own life while at a friend's house. I took a bunch of pills in the woods behind their house. With a note in my pocket note said God forgive me. Peter none suicide attempt after conversion therapy is all too common already LGBT. You are more likely to attempt suicide than their peers net nearly triples among those who've been through some type of counseling to change their sexual orientation. That's why Georgia state Representative Matthew Wilson is trying to pass legislation to ban it as more than a dozen other states. If passed the law would stop licensed mental health professionals from trying to change the sexual orientation or gender identity of minors specifically asked just for hearing this year, no vote. So that we could use this year as a an educational moment to really raise awareness about the need for this. He says it's about saving. Vulnerable children. There's been an outcry not just from the victims and LGBTQ community. But from the medical professionals who say this is not medicine and not only is it not medicine, but the harm is very real. And last a lifetime. Many medical association say the practice does not work, and is harmful national organizations like the American Foundation for suicide prevention and the advocacy group that Trevor project are trying to get this legislation passed in all fifty states, but liberty counsel, a conservative Christian group that opposes LGBTQ rights wants to stop the band's Mets Davor heads liberty counsel the counselors that we work with they tried to respect the wishes of the client and the client is that minor. It's not the parents, it's the client saver says. It's about an individual patients economy, even if they're minors and that a ban on conversion therapy, violates the free. Speech of counselors. There's no other area counseling with the government has barged into the private counseling room. And this should be no exception recently, the supreme court declined to take a case that would have challenged the conversion therapy ban in New Jersey and advocates of the ban say if a practice is deemed harmful or abusive to children, in other cases, the state does intervene the depth of that harm is something Greg. Lynn McDonald say they didn't understand when they found out their son. Greg junior was gay. They describe themselves as conservative Christians and were worried that their son was committing a sin. We thought that the Greg son how miss something along the way in that. If he had someone to walk with and talk with regards to it he'd he'd say in desired to be heterosexual. So they met with the counselor about conversion therapy, which is legal. But Greg senior said if there had been a van would've may be really pause to know that it's a league. To do that to a minor it took years. But Greg Lynn say they've realized they couldn't change their son the bible, they say teaches them to love before anybody even thinks about sending their son or daughter to one of these places they have to be so educated in understanding what this can do to your child for the rest of their lives. What kind of pain that could bring today, they say their shamed. That they ever considered conversion therapy. And they want to be a resource for other conservative Christians who feel alone as parents of LGBTQ kids, Leyla Vaudin, NPR news, Atlanta. "Band. Like that says our names, we'll be straightforward. We are hot chocolate. We won't call the ban. We think about hot chocolate. I mean, what about hot chocolate got it? There have been upset about drinking his chocolate. I mean, it just it's just fantastic. Isn't it? I don't complain about much of anything when it comes to food. I know you don't try not to let you put mayonnaise or pickle, right? You know, how you protect yourself. You. Somebody says dear to come in and eat your flowers. You do certain things. We don't want. Bubba H E lunch. You just put manage Biggles around the Alvear right off. Yeah. So so anyway, we've got we got also we've got Bob I'm afraid today. We have we have a segment on rickandbubba today that will be taking on yesterday. Started yet. I got an Email, and I saw that we're being bashed on social media. And I'm afraid that also haters sprang vapors on our dreams so haters haters. Go hate hate hate. You know, what I say? I love haters motivate me, and I say hate the game. Not the player. I do know the player not the game. Yes. Not tell you this. If you. Bob. I know you pride yourself on this tape, especially they were. We've got we've got older even makes it better. So you know, I did a little better and all this. And so every time I go by those young guys down there. And they tried to help me, you know. And and so they play all this music. They got hip hop music. And and you talk about their faces and here he got the hair just like, they lock it padded up. It'll be at all that got got my. Yeah. I got my guns blazing. And I walked in there and ready from work that much. To make a request. You what I want? You plant song. I love haters in their face, you know, because when I'm working on. I want to think about how the haters hate me. And they're gonna hate they're going to hate in the there's some some I play because I love. Anyway. And so we'll we'll unpack that I I would like for there to be if we could try as a society. First of all, I want us to see if we can't go back and establish. We already said we've lost the art of being able to call yourself. The thank well. Maybe what I'm doing is. Not right. Let me think this through. Apparently, we've also lost the ability to reason, you know, somebody says something to you. It's okay to hear it. And then go based on some things. I know I'm not sure that's could be accurate that doesn't really make sense. What what would be the motivation for this person to do what you claim they're doing based on some things, I know about the person that would be in conflict with a few. And then you think to yourself you kind of reason it out and go I'll get to the bottom of that. But I'll tell you right off the first thing, you said to me that doesn't seem to make sense based on things I know to be true. So we'll we'll do that. And the there were some people that have listened to conversation we had day for yesterday. And and went off half cocked on social media. Now, we're getting trashed and and all that. We'll clarify that a little bit on the program today. So if you are if you are a teacher that you've been told that you're supposed to hate us today. And that we hate teachers. My favorite is when one person put out there, you know, they lost their moral compass years ago what? What? That means that means our sister both of my children, and our parents we're supposed to hate. Yes. Right and your son. So yes, both of my children. They're both. No, both of your children are. Yeah. And her husband. Yes. Right. Son-in-law's that's an island. The game not player. That's right. I mean, haters Gohei spitting vapors on my dream. But what I'm saying is. So if you think that Greg, and I are going to get in the conversation. Limit the money that teachers can make then we don't won't my wife works. No, our parents were in education for over thirty years. Yeah. Okay. Greg's daughter Bernice is teaching my sister teaches Greg's son-in-law teachers angry teachers. Yeah. So what we want is for our own family to be limited. So so so what you should say. The first time somebody said something that idiot to you. You should be able to really make sense. And I'm not going to get on social media in gossip about the bear false witness until I get to the bottom of it. Yeah. Yeah. That's probably the way we want to go right because now social media these things get to rolling in about four generations out. Now people are commenting as if it really happened. And now there's a speech about what you'd say to somebody who actually said that. And I certainly understand that speech would make sense if it was actually saying. But I'll tell you what the conversation was for those you have.

I didn't pick out. I didn't pick up on when you're driving stuff. No, just just in general use gave her the phone. I don't remember. I don't remember. Well, you don't you don't text the way you don't talk or text the way we were getting text. I was texting on. I don't think. So because I busted you during the holidays, you said, okay. You got me. Was you used a ton of punctuation, and and some of the things that you said was just not like it was coming from our phone. Yes. That was me. It was she wouldn't use my phone. Okay. Because like like like this one here. We're about to head to Atlanta. They have admitted Kelsey keep us in your prayers. I'll keep y'all update. Yeah. Actually sent something. That's why. That was not that guy. I mean for you though, it was going to say, well, I'll just see I'll go back to the holidays when you sent something out to the to the team. And then you and I think we're doing something one on one. And I said, hey, by the way, that was the sweet tweet. It's usually somebody else. Yeah. Says. Ellis's here came in the world screaming loud, just like. Haven't weighed him yet. Thanks for all your. All those are all me. I mean, you must have been drugged. Okay. We know that that was but this one here, I didn't think I checked in with him as well. He said everything is good. We're all fighting over who gets to hold him. I went with Lisa. No. That was me. Wow. What is completely not world? I was gonna ask you about that. What what's it like because I mean, it's everybody warned me. Instead, it would be a big deal. Is it some some I talked to a Granddad yesterday. He said he said it I can only relate it to. It's almost like your first child is born. It's it's kind of in that area. Is that is that accurate? Yeah. Oh, at least. Yeah. What right up there. And I know that Kelsey dad's name is Randy, right? So you're hanging our two Ps. And, but yeah, you know, we actually Lisa was actually in there when he was born, and guess, he's mom, and of course, Taylor Randy word much, but we did sit outside the door and stick our ear to the door and heard everything really everything heard the count and push this one more Bush, all of a sudden you hear him crying. "Your your phone calls will be part of it. And we'll definitely try to get some of those in in this hour. We know that Greg and his wife Lisa. Are going to be going to savannah for their twentieth. A twenty eighth wedding anniversary weekend a gift from Greg son and new daughter-in-law to them for their help with waiting and just a celebration of that. So very kind gift very good trip people who've been helping Greg with this savannah, we got a lot going on with Gregg today because you know, this one of the things about everybody's all well, this one of those things that Bob, and I really were concerned about because speeding and Bubba being off. We knew that opened up quite a bit of airtime for Greg. And it was concerning, but but we have unpacked a few things that we wouldn't have gotten to. I don't think hams if we had not we not been in this situation. And I appreciate Randy's question when he called him because y'all educate me so much on music because I don't I don't give music. I started working here. I finally gave in well, I will tell you. I full of useful. I mean, excuse me, useless information. I can't remember my pin number for me. Me who's in the original members of Leonard Skinner than I do know that and and Fred Wynn. But. Herman Munster, but the. But one of the things that we were discussing I actually had a friend of mine the other day, I'm telling because, you know, all this thing with Rick in in in Greg. And and the resurgence of our music knowledge, you know, kinda was when Ron Greenwood found Okapis of of Mr. lucky, the the world's greatest garage, man. Rick you wanna controversy? I was not an original member of that, man. Well, but now don't make me unpack this because this is this gets real dicey and gets real complicated. You may hurt feelings. Well, I'm gonna go with this. And I'm going to go with this. There's some things I can't say it was one CD stood alone. But I must say I had a friend of mine the other day that got it. And he looked at me. And he said, I really honestly when I put it into the CD player, what came out of those speakers, I did not. And he said, by the way, there's a couple of songs that should have been on the radio. But anyway, so in these were original songs, but now you ready for me to do you want me to dive into that CD because it's gonna get real real wild in here. Okay. So if you go back through the music history of the various bands that Greg and you go back. There was the first man mystique. I was gonna say I need all the name name. Okay. Mystique was I hated it. I like I was in a soul man, then that ban got those fine. But then that ban God little edge to it and started getting a little more serious and get a little better. And then we formed silent rain, which I I do like that name and silent rain rain was spelled E R E that. Yeah. We would go up to play clubs, and they would have sonnet rage on the market. Was it a name change because you're doing some different or did people drop out and people copyright? No, you're right. It was copyright. We went to actually do an album we actually went in to do an album and had a guy that said, I'm gonna put you on the studio. But I I gotta be sure we got everything in line if we're going to recordings he did a search, and they were already banned more than one band. Thank god. So no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I'm not making this up. We're literally about to get on the airplane to go to where the studio is in New Orleans. And we're in one of the the guy who was kind of guy who ran sound force. And all that. And he said y'all have to have a new name by the time, we get there. Yeah. And so we were like kicking around all these different names, and I wanna kicking mule. So we we we went with solid rain. And then we said we'll spell it REI in it doesn't mean anything. He just makes you wonder what? Yeah. Wanted to. So that worked out so then so then the members of mystique we dropped does that was one of those things and you had to sit down with the guys in the band and say, we're about to do this full-time who does not agree to go along with it. And we had some guys that said, hey, I I don't I don't I don't think I can go that far with it and they dropped out. So then they got replaced, but we still had the. Do we ever change the drummer still silent rain? No, okay. So I was actually playing drums mystique? And Greg would play when I would sing which is all at one or two song. And then we so let's get a real drummer. Because I was not a very good win in how you're not a very good singer. But you seem to be able to everybody up front going. So listen. It was a better lineup. So we got we got a real drummer in broad real drumming. And so then Greg was original or guitar player was an original Greg was bass guitar player was original hours original. And then we added a drummer and we had a new keyboard player. So now we are salary. So when we start all that, and sadly when when the guys the band who is our friend got sick and died so that that ended some aquit. Yeah. That ended silent rain after an ingredient. That's kind of a power line. Yeah. I I'm kind of I can't I don't know though. I wanna take this next stabbing in the Bank. How disbanded so then my buddy? So then people started when I started getting into radio, then there were people that were realized I wasn't a very good singer. But I brought with me a radio show. Yeah. So so so then it was I go get him to be the singer of this band. And then you'll talk about us show. And he's good enough. If we stay in the right kind of music, we can pull this off. So I joined the band called vindicator. Yeah. That was. He went on these. I've lived in the domestic line. I've got a haircut, and I'm in vindicator, so and and really long hair really heavy man, really talented guys heavy band. So so then that kinda ran its course for a while. And so then I started trying to get back into a little more of you know, the the real world and kind of leaving that behind within the radio things started kicking. And I was approached again about look we're not trying to be which our trying to be silent rain list, just be a cover band. But we believe that a lot of these. And this is before Jesus I'd not give him a lot to Jesus yet. But they were saying we can we can go out and play these clubs and use your radio show to put people in the club that club by time. You shouldn't people in there won't you put a band together. And you know, just be a local guy who has a band. House at a club. So that became the first version of Mr. luck. And that's all it was was a cover band. Well, you know, transformation am my life spiritually. And then some of that, you know, I go you can go back, then there's gonna be songs now if I was if I had a band today, but I was early to the faith. But I knew enough that they won't play clubs. Yeah. So man, we were like, okay. Let's just don't reinvent the wheel. Let's just keep this name. And let's go see if Greg will come back and play bass CD's ready for that. It's not going to be some touring thing like nine years, and let's get baba and let him go into the studio. So here's where it gets dicey. So Ryan Greenwood who worked with the show the and now becomes a member of the band gray becomes remember the band. Bubba becomes you know, hey, you're almost back up. I'm going to be part of it too. Well, we wanted to do original songs for the the CD which is now fat chance from nineteen ninety set. Right. Well. Miss lucky had always been a cover band. So Ryan, and I had been in bands. I've been in solid rain. I'd been in mystique in wrote original songs with Greg and some other guy who passed away and some other guys and then Ryan had been in other bands. And he had original songs. So we brought those original songs and made them the mission lucky CD, but those songs aren't we're not written by anybody other than me with Greg and our other friend and Ryan by either by himself or with some of these other guys. So the original songs you have on. There are actually even older than Mr. lucky. They actually are like fifteen sixty those those original sounds actually belong to some of them to silent rain and mystique in whatever may Iran on rocks. Goo. But anyway, so that's the interesting thing about those. They are original. But and then when we go to record the CD, the only two people on the CD that ever ended up in the band that you saw live was me. And ryan. Yeah. Everybody else was hard guns for the studio. And they're really good. I don't think I can never say they aren't really, and it's down there in a band that was really good. And really, and we've mentioned them in no longer bandwidth provinces. Yeah. They're no longer banned. Yeah. So there's no copra we can say thin. It's actually brother Kane, really. Which was that the head of great Rigg got. No shame on we play the. Yeah. If you listen to the fat chance CD the drums on the CD in the base on the CD are the drummer and bass player from brother cane. Yeah. And then Ron and then me and then Mark Phillips who joined Mr. lucky who was not a keyboard player need bands. We and he's only been with mister lucky host more one. He actually had an entrance. So Mr. lucky has got quite the history. I had no and all that all that stadium. So we do so with him. We started doing fat fist. And that was when Mr. lucky starts saying we're gonna go play things when we did the fat chance CD. Let's go play festivals. This go play this. We didn't play bars we do. Theaters, whatever only on weekends and only a week. Yeah. Once a week. And then we did our our original stuff with some covers. So there's the history. And then after two thousand three. We just decided that we all were getting too. Five I think. Ninety nine was the first one two thousand three was last one year. We did to win a national one in Birmingham. I think it was two thousand one. So that was two thousand three's the last time that band played.

"Your phone calls will be part of it. And we'll definitely try to get some of those in in this hour. We know that Greg and his wife. Lisa are going to be going to savannah for their twentieth. Twenty eighth wedding anniversary weekend a gift from Greg son and daughter-in-law to them for their help with the wedding and just a celebration of that. So very kind gift very good trip people who've been helping Greg with this savannah, we've got a lot going on with Gregg today because you know, this is one of the things about everybody's off. Well, this one of those things that Bob, and I really were concerned about because speedy and Bubba being off. We knew that opened up quite a bit of airtime for Greg. And it was concerning, but we have unpacked a few things that we wouldn't have gotten to. I don't think hams if we had not we not been in this situation. No. And I appreciate Randy's question. When he called him because y'all educate me so much on music. Because I I don't I don't give music enough started working here. I finally gave in. Well, I will tell you. I full of useful. I mean, excuse me, useless information. I can't remember my pin number. Who's in the original members of Leonard Skinner than I do know that and and who Fred Wynn. Yes, but yes, but Herman Munster, but the. But lily, one of the things that we were discussing I actually had a friend of mine the other day because you know, all this thing with raking in in Greg. And the resurgence of our music knowledge kinda was when Ron Greenwood found copies of Mr. lucky, the world's greatest garage, man. Rick you want to go controversy. I was not an original member of that, man. Well, but now this because this is this gets real dicey and gets real complicated. You may hurt Valence. Well, I'm gonna go with this. And I'm going to go with this. There's some things I can't say. It was one CD stood alone had it. But I want to say I had a friend of mine the other day that got it. And he looked at me. And he said, I really honestly when I put it into the CD player, what came out of those speakers, I did not expect. And he said, by the way, there's. Should have been on the radio. But anyway, so in the original songs, but now you ready for me to do you want me to dive into that CD because it's gonna get real real wild in here. Okay. So if you go back through the music history of the various bands that Greg. You go back. There was the first man mystique. I was gonna say I need all the name name. Okay. Mystique? I hated it. I feel like I was in a soul man, then that ban got us fine. But then that ban God a little edge to it and started getting a little more serious and get a little better. And then we formed solid rain, which I I do like that name and silent rain rain was spelled E R E that of course, we would go up to play clubs, and they would have sonnet rage on the market. Had. No Reagan was it a name change because you're doing something different or did people drop out and people and copyright. No, you're right. It was copyright. We went to actually do an album we actually went in to do an album and had a guy that said, I'm gonna put you on the studio. But I I gotta be sure we got everything in line if we're going to recordings he did a search, and they were already more than one band. Thank god. So no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I'm not making this up. We're literally about to get on the airplane to go to where the studio is in New Orleans. And we're in one of the the guy who was kind of a guy who ran sound force. And all that. And he said y'all have to have a new name by the time. We get there. Yeah. And so we were like kicking around all these different names, and I to kick in yet right with and so we we went with solid rain. And then we said we'll spell it REI in main thing, you just makes you wonder what? Yeah. Yeah. We have. We wanted to words percent. So that worked out so then so then the members of mystique we dropped does that was one of those things and you had to sit down with the guys in the band and say, we're about to do this full-time who does not agree to go along with it. And we had some guys that said, hey, I don't I don't I don't think I can go that far with it. And they dropped out. So then they got replaced, but we still had the. Do we ever change the drummer still silent rain? No, okay. So I was actually playing drums and mystique. Greg would play when I would sing which one or two song. And then so we so let's get a real drummer. Because I was not a very good win in how you're not a very good singer. But you seem to be able to get everybody up front going. So. It was a better lineup. So we got we got a real drummer drumming. And so then Greg was original or guitar player was an original Greg was bass guitar player was original hours original. And then we added a drummer and we had a new keyboard player. So now, we are solid. Right. So when we start all that, and sadly when the guys the band, who's our friend got sick and died. So that that ended aquit that ended silent rain after and then Greg's that's kind of power line. I I'm kind of I kind of I don't know though. I wanna take this. Next stabbing in the Bank how to disbanded. So then my buddy was gone. So then people started when I started getting into radio, then there were people that were realized I wasn't a very good singer. But I brought with me a radio show. Yeah. So so so then it was I go get him to be the singer of this band. And then you'll talk about us show. And he's good enough. If we stay in the rock kind of music, we can pull this off. So I joined a band called vindicator. Yeah. That went. You went on these. I'm living the domestic line. I've got a haircut, and I'm in vindicated. Yeah. So and and really long hair really heavy man, really talented guys heavy band. So so then that kinda ran its course for awhile. And so then I started trying to get back into a little more of you know, the the real world and kind of leaving that behind within the radio things started kicking. And I was approached again about look we're not trying to be which our trying to be in silent rain list, just be a cover band. But we believe that a lot of these. And this is before Jesus I'd not give him a lot to Jesus yet. But they were saying we can we can go out and play these clubs and use your radio show to put people in the club that club time, you shouldn't people in there won't you put a band together. And you know, just be a local guy who has a band. A house band at a club. So that became the first version of Mr Lee. And that's all it was was a cover band well transformation and my life spiritually. And then some of that, you know, I go you can go back. Then there still be songs with new now. I was if I had a band today, but I was early to the faith. But I knew enough that they won't play clubs. Yeah. So then we were like, okay. Let's just don't reinvent the wheel. Let's just keep this name. And let's go see if Greg will come back and play bass CV's ready for that. It's not going to be some touring thing. And let's get baba and let him go into the studio. "That's christians. What do you call it, blah, blah? You could say I'm a blogger. But I think website sounds a little more little fancier. I always think of Jack Webb. Website is that we're Jack Webb lives? I don't think he's long gone past. I remember that movie. He was in probably in the fifties called the the the drill instructor. No. He he played. I think it was an army and marine. The role made famous in other movies by Arlene who passed away whenever you mentioned that deposition in the army. I it's all I can think of this are the Jack where was fabulous. I'm sure, you know, well, he like old movies. You might want to check that out. Okay. Why don't you just to see rose about as I remember less? I'm confusing it with another movie like these tangents, I go into my head. I wasn't planning on talking about this. I think keeping in mind that this was. Maybe sixties a lot of hippies around and our children. There was somebody in his basic training platoon. A. Who was kind of a meditating flower child. And that's the way he would avoid any sensitivity to the pain that was inflicted on him from time to time that doesn't ring a bell because but it's somebody out there listening. Oh, yeah. I remember I can picture a class between these two figures though, obviously. Okay. Well, we've got several movies to talk about today, including one that I t's last week. We went out with a few couples, and I needed a drink after the movie the scene where the the nanny that was sent by the devil to watch after the. Greg. Son with the six six six and his scalp. Little Damien the scene where Gregory Peck is putting the facts together after discussions with the priests and now suspects that his son is the spawn of the devil, and he goes up to the second floor of the house theory. And I think he was stationed in London wasn't he? He has some sort of position of power. Yeah. Yeah. He in the dead of ninety creeps up the circus at the second floor, whereas sends bedroom is stark in the room. He walks over to the bed any parts thick hair on his son's head and sees the six six six at which point the nanny who was working in. The shadows comes leaping toward him screeching. I mean that was like Hitchcock, Ian as great as opposed to Canada that cheap Behar's film scares these days with yet, another image of Freddie, Krueger, endorsed lambing. When you're not expecting. I love that movie has a special place in my heart. And that was directed by Richard Donner who also did superman the secrets are good with the first and the remake wasn't very good from a few years back, but go with the original and never remember what are the actors looses his head literally during a sequence as well. And if you've not seen the omen. Great harm movies idol living dead and shining. The exorcist, I think the omen doesn't get named checked in that conversation. It should. It's that good. Well that wraps it up for today. Okay. Oh, we've got more to talk. We can unsigned bar ourselves and tell us about the other two movies guitar Halloween. A huge hit this is a sequel to the nineteen seventy eight movie. And of course, it stars Jamie Lee Curtis. Mr Michael Myers again in that William Shatner mask and also the oath a new political comedy very dark about families who disagree with each other getting together for thanksgiving fighting and fighting some more, and it gets even more wicked from there. It's like reality. Sadly, a reality show. The writer director and star. And he said it was partly based on something he went through with his own family. That would be a great idea for a reality show to have a hidden camera. Now, a lot of these reality shows aren't really reality. They're still her spayed or something. Yeah. But if you had a hidden camera, a typical extended families thanksgiving dinner, these days with the massive divisiveness, we have in the country and just replayed that that could be horrible to it could be a horror story, I will say this movie did terribly at the box office. And I almost think that it's so much inner lives we need a little bit of escapism. Maybe it's reason why it's we made seventy six million dollars opening weekend. But yeah, the oath tanked in limited release, and maybe it's too close to home, by the way, when you get a chance during one of the breaks, you can go online and get the box office on the old man and the gun. My guess is very very small. Yeah. I I'll have to check in the numbers, but it's it's in modest release. And it's not a big hit. Okay. So expand. On the movie on Halloween. Yes. So we've had Halloween. It's a classic iconic slasher movie John carpenter made it he wrote that incredible music, which is still chilling, and we had a whole bunch of sequels some directly tied into Michael Myers. The third film was a separate story entirely. What this new film does is has remember those movies. You saw ignore them. All we're going to white them out of landscape and say, it's forty years later. Michael Myers was caught right? After the first film. He was in. He was institutionalized. He still there. And now he's being transferred to another hospital facility. And of course, when that happens, you know, it's going to come next. He gets out finds his old mask and start slashing again. And of course, he's gonna for Laurie strode the Jamie Lee Curtis character who has in the intervening years kind of gone a little off the rails. She just knows in her heart. They Michael Myers will come back for her at some point. She is fully trained and guns. She's got a whole arsenal in her house. She's. Kind of ruined her relationship with her daughter and even granddaughter because he's so obsessed with this. This kind of prolonged PTSD because she was the survivor of the massacre. And of course, is going to be a reunion, and you know, that's coming. And that's what happens in the film. Right. So was the the starkest horror moment when he's in the hospital and sees the Bill. His medical care, and they cue that music was free. Covers it isn't covered under ObamaCare or anything else. Michael Myers Hasbro its way, so angry shades of the omen. That's rice Kerry. Yeah. So huge box office reception. Reviews were mixed the good on the general critical front. I was appointed. By the beginning. When I meet Michael Myers again in the institution, very creepy. Like all the things you want wanted a hard movie like this or there, and then just being slash movie is not bad. It's not poorly done. The acting is fine. Jamie Lee Curtis is always good. And I think when I was growing up slashing movies where cheap with that actors budget just slapdash with a lot of nudity gore and a lot of death. And this one is more sophisticated than that to which credit, but it's still not a very good movie. Tony curtis. Jamie Lee Curtis is father, right? Who's the mother owes a Reynolds? No, Janet Lee. Okasha she by heart. Yeah. Generally, I think he had. Well, he was also married to Elizabeth Taylor wasn't. He wasn't. I mean. I was for a spell. It was very awkward, but Halloween. Do you? Remember, this must be when I was a kid. I can say this on the air. There was some joke and the punchline was. Does Pinocchio have a Halloween. Remember that you never heard that. Right. It sounds like something I should have heard though. Yeah. Tony curtis. Jamie Lee, generally are her parents. Well, it's our general approach to have members of the Mike Rosen movie club check in with us and share their comments and analysis and assessment of movies. So when we come back from this. I break we'll have is it David Dylan who's going to be with us Dave and Dylan together. Yes. Hopefully coral. Harmonize? We'll flip a coin. Good either. David I stay with us. Right back. These words. Well, you have a couple of problems early on this Saturday morning. First of all, we have a.
