"'cause i have to go with who we use but there are a couple of teams that i just don't like this team is one of them that cannot stand but i believe that a rights odds you gotta take your heart out of it. The dallas cowboys Visited charge this week. Look dallas had super bowl champs on the road last on the on the ropes last week on the road they easily could have won that game. I think it was a great first game for dak off the injuries they had extra time to prepare for this game Charges nice little win last week at washington but travel back across the country that was also a physical game and now the chargers lane three and a half. I'm not buying that. I think dallas is actually the better football team. It wouldn't shock me if dallas won outright and look these oddsmakers we spoke about it last week. Have not been good last week. Nine underdogs won outright. It went under those twelve before against the spread and last night. If the giants didn't pull a giants they would have been outright on the dog winter so now to underdogs seventeen games thirteen and four against the spread. Automakers are not correct right now with these lines. This is a bad line here. i believe dallas. I'm gonna take them plus three and a half with this competition to win outright. Oh man that is a great call by you but man without any pass rush. And they're struggling. No gregory no law. That's gonna be a fun. I'll tell you what they can score though and that ought to scare people all right. I'm gonna switch back to college. I was wavering between two. I'm headed back to saturday. I liked the way. Oklahoma played last week and it was an easy win for them. I love lincoln. Riley nebraska's got problems. I don't care. this is supposed to be a rivalry. I think they're awful. They're going to norman and this is probably stupid on my part. But i'm taking a flyer. Onto huge spreads this week. The packers and expensive rattler continues his onslaught towards trying to win the heisman trophy. Nineteen and a half point favorites nebraska. Going to norman. Nebraska cannot throw the football consistently enough. You just make them one dimensional. They win and i don't have any idea how they think they're gonna stop oklahoma. There's a three touchdown win. I'm taking oklahoma at home. Unlike greg pruitt and johnny rodgers back in the day this is going to be a take him to the woodshed game. Rattler has a huge game to stop adrian martinez. Oklahoma wins huge in this football game because they got playoff aspirations so three touchdown win huge spread. That i like it. There's a reason. This spreads that big so i gotta let me just jump in here. You know that. Spread one up to twenty two and a half right all online at didn't did it really. I can't wait two and a half. You still staying on it. I'm going to stay right on. I'm gonna to stay on it. I'm not gonna. I'm not gonna run for matt. That'll tell me that. Well i know where the money's going right now. But i can tell you this. It keeps climate. It tells me something. This could be one of those fifty one seventeen type games. Rattler rattler will throw minimum before touchdowns against him. I'm going to stick with it at twenty two and a half so i got florida plus the points. I got the packers covering and i got you. You got utah pittsburgh and the cowboys this week after all right let's get more. They get those free picks again. My man to free picks tonight. It's on a recorded message. Eight eight eight win. China may be the greatest radio football play by play. call ever certainly the most famous and We celebrate the fiftieth year anniversary of the game of the century. this coming saturday of course nebraska oklahoma or honored to be joined again by husker head coach former head coach. Tom osborne who was the offensive coordinator for bob vani that time. Good morning. Good back. Gary and i hope you getting along okay this morning and it's tough. It's tough this morning know. His habits is habits. Tom or really really hard to overcome. After twenty years and more this. I can take you know. I don't know that i. I don't know that i've ever heard you address this specifically Coach i'm curious. What was your day like that day. i mean we know about the game certainly But here you are. And there's more hype than they're probably ever been for a single game as number one versus number two and you're the offensive coordinator. Can you kind of take us through That morning and leading up to the game well. Obviously there was a certain amount of tension involved but in those days The bowl games were decided Earlier in the season and marry bear bryant usually had his pink lined up for a bowl by the fifth or sixth year. So you knew that That game With us one and two in the rankings. was probably going to be very instrumental in the national championship. If we were indeed the best teams and Until There was a lot of a lot of emphasis on maybe more so than would be today with the playoffs. And all that type thing which comes really at the very end of the season and conference championship games so I know it was kind of a cold day. for oklahoma and Leading real pleasant out there but it wasn't it was playable and And so i think we started a game Trying to throw the ball a little bit and having a lot of success. And so you'd think we would have been the better throwing team taghi and rogers and and Pretty pretty good passing game on the other hand you spec oklahoma to have better day running and it was kind of the reverse we We ended up running the ball really well that day. Jeff kinney at about five terribly jerseys torn off of him and it was a big load and milton to the ball. Really well against said any john henderson was fine receiver and we were smart enough to change our secondary around moving our safety to corner in our our best corner to safety which we thought we had to do to stop the the option the quarterback in the pitch and that didn't work for well so it was a little bit of topsy turvy game but Kind of back and forth and we eventually established the running game. Well and i've got to let you know the other guy down the hall that that day up in the press box. Tom was berry switzer. He was the offensive coordinator for the sooners. And he he concocted that game plan to which you refer the only regret he's ever voiced was that he didn't get the ball to greg pruitt more pruitt. They're all american only karrada ten times But you've got to be impressed with what oklahoma was doing from an offensive standpoint in that game all right who's making the who's making the decisions over there for them Well yeah i guess Coordinators are part of it but Eventually the players have to execute and the difficult thing for us. I was really the first time we felt. I guess maybe the second time and saw the wishbone but the hard thing about playing oklahoma was had really full days to get ready for an entirely. Different animal and the wishbone in terms of defense and My kissing celebrates pretty creative and always felt that you had to do something entirely different. They hadn't seen before eventually We sell them to saying. Hey we're going to play our base defense and just play it better. And i think the last time we played the wishbone. They only had maybe a hundred and fifty yards of offense three points but at that time early on it was it was always a big threat. And and they did have they put was was the best player. And of course. On that punt returner johnny's crew had johnny data right into didn't make the tackle two guys there and you'd say well johnny sort of fair caught. Johnny never fair and never did and. That's an amazing when you look at what happens today. i'd say fifty sixty percent of the punts fair caught. You know. I speaking of the defense Against that wishbone. Two things are indelible to me a lot more than to actually but one amazing the amazing performance of rich glover in that game and willie harper williams talked about the amazing discipline that he showed he said it was tough for him to stay home on that assignment because the temptation was to go out and nail this guy but he knew if he did they could get through there. I mean it was just magnificent day time. Are you going to be going down to this game. You know. I had planned to. But i've had some issues come up a little bit with With nancy health wise. So i'm stay home and watch it here. we'll give our best. I hope everything's okay. I'll do that. he bet. Yeah well i'm sure you have with your your right rich risk lover. Unbelievable remarkable twenty twenty tackles and the thing they were trying to do is which one guy tom. Brian the center and It was an all american by the way. Yeah you couldn't block recover one guy. It was impossible and and he and jacobson played well. And and a lot of guys. That lilly harper was great. But you had to be defensor disciplined rewrite because somebody had to be on the fullback. Somebody had quarterback had fish and want somebody started chasing somebody. They thought had the ball sin. You're in trouble and so it was. it was a unique style of offense wonderful memories And i've let you know what. I'm glad we're playing. I know that the teams are in different places now and nebraska's a big underdog. But i still think this'll be special tom. Thanks so much for being with us this morning. Okay thank you guys bet. Have a good one. Tom osborne here on. Kabc morning news at twenty two tackles nose guard. I've never seen anything like that. And you know the funny thing about it is about that game which spawned few a few things that maybe we didn't notice at the time. The first one was oklahoma. Started mimicking nebraska's defense. After that game they started playing a very similar style of defense. They just got a lot better defensive lineman when the sellman rather showed up and we started and of course. Tom adjusted his offense to Accommodate what oklahoma was able to do and we started mimicking what they were doing on offense. I can't believe they stopped us. I can't i should give him the ball one more time..

"Was on the market back. Then as you know. There's like twenty two magazines. And so i would get my notebook out and i would start compiling all the information from all the magazines and get done and there were teams. I could barely even compile a one deep on so i start compiling the information myself I need to get the complete rosters. Forty on every team and i started putting it on the pages and one day. Somebody walked him off and said why. Don't you put that in magazine. So i did The first year was black and white. It was on newsprint. Twenty seven years ago and But once somebody got a hold of it it's so much more information everybody else that they became a lifetime reader at that point and it just keeps growing. We actually went to full-color after like five years it took to get the full color in a magazine but now twenty seven years later Quite a difference phenomenal phenomenal run and you have so many people that want to get your opinion and see that we. We hang on every week until i can't wait to that magazine comes out and it's been like that damn near three decades for all of us and you can find it at barnes and noble nationally. Okay with that. For instance on saturday morning. What gimme gimme an idea of. What a saturday morning looks like or friday night heading into saturday just what time your day starts and college football. What's a day like for you on saturday. I got i got twelve. Tv's in front of me sean. So i'm watching twelve games all day long. I've got diet mountain dew drinking just down in it all day. Long trying to stay sharp and I'm focusing on twelve games all day long and my biggest gripe right now in college football sean. These games take too long. So there's a lot of these twelve o'clock games that are still going on at three thirty one. The next batch is starting. I wish they'd speed the games up a little bit maybe Have the incomplete passes. Get the clock started again because too many games running into each other. But yeah all the way up through that three o'clock hawaii game in the morning when that thing finally ends and i had to bed but It's it's a long day on saturdays. Yeah but you know nobody does it. Better because of how much you've got to cover in an always Head of the curve. Now so with that do you when when you're watching it. Are you taking the whole time or is it just all socked away in your memory Most of it is memory but definitely. There's some key notes barrel i'll be like. Oh wow that was a huge play was the you know third or there at the one yard line about the score and it was a ninety eight yard fumble return for a touchdown. I'm not things like that. But for the most part yeah. I'm just Keeping it in my head and that's actually one thing i've got good recall on. Sean is that. I can tell you about a game in the third quarter from maybe three four five years ago or even ten years ago Anything else so in life. If you said put me in a grocery store and say go find the bread. I like that clueless but At least i tuned into college. Football one of the best. There is one of the foremost and most accurate college. Football analysts over the last three decades. He's a committee member of voter of fifteen different college. Football awards including the heisman. And we all wait for his college football season preview book. That comes out every single year. Phil steele joins us here. On seven ninety. Sean sows show. Okay felt won't before. I get into some of the surprises improved teams. And what you're looking at this college football season do you would you like. What do you like more. Did you like eighties football nineties. Football is a better game now to you with all the passing and spread or are you a little more old school you thought process about if you were picking what was better football for you. Yeah you know. I think you always liked the past better than the present And you know going. Back to wishbone football nebraska. Remember greg pruitt johnny rodgers players like that Bear bryant at alabama walk in the sidelines I think now with. There's just so much passing the game but you have to adapt and that's what teams are doing and it. It's going to be sick. Cyclical sean talk. I talked one hundred ten to one hundred thirty head coaches this year and a lot of them are gonna use more too tight ends because now everybody's taking out that third linebacker yup more safety personnel. Get lighter at the that in the front seven than in the past. And i think you're gonna see teams exploited that way and we'll get back to teams using too tight ends to explain the way. The defence is set up to come back the spread so a lot of the stuff is sick with cyclical. But yeah. i'm an old school guy. I go back in remember the The old offenses and the old game and probably a little bit more fond on that. But i think that's why everybody is in life. Greatest football play. You saw play college football there has been. Yeah i mean just one that maybe or to that you say man. That's the guy. Yeah i you know you have to think just watching herschel walker play. And they impact. He had as a true freshman was phenomenal. But you know look at earl campbell. And the what he did back in the seventies so But and you know. I grew up in ohio. Archie griffin was a two time eisman. trophy winner. i wouldn't put them in the greatest ever. I put him in a guy that want to heisman trophies. So i go herschel walker and earl campbell would probably be the top to school names on defense back in the day rich glover. Is you know nebraska by leroy salman. So there's been some great ones. I love to reminisce account. One of these. I've gotta get you on and talk to you for like three hours about this. Because i get fired somebody on all right. Who's your surprise surprise team or two for this twenty. I mean we really. We kicked it in last week. But this week one. That was weak. Zero sum games on thursday night. Who's your biggest surprise team or two in college football this year. Let me give you my talk to surprise teams this year. Sean and a surprise team by the way is a non top ten team that i think can contend for the playoffs. And we've got a pretty good track record you back to two thousand and sixteen. I had washington number. One surprise team in washington actually made the playoffs that year In two thousand eighteen notre dame was not in the preseason top ten. They were my number one surprise team. They made the playoffs. And last year. I had texas and i'm coming off a five loss season. That's my number. One surprise team was selection. Sunday almost made it is between them and ohio. State that playoff spot up my big surprise teams this year. Number two would be wisconsin They've got a tough test here in the opener against penn state. But when you look at them last year. The average three point nine yards per carry. Now that's atypical for wisconsin. They usually average five or six yards per carry. They didn't really have a feature back last year now. They've got four of what. I call running backs running behind the big offensive line. They'll get that fixed. They also have a quarterback in grand merz who twenty out of twenty one passes in the opener last year then got covert missed. A couple of weeks of practice wasn't the same after that you put them both together. They've got a potent offense. They've got the defense and then look at their schedule if they get past penn state in the opener their four big ten road games. They're all against teams. That had losing records last year. Their toughest road test of the year is notre dame where they're actually a slight favorite. You might see wisconsin favorite in all twelve games this year yet. They're not anywhere near the top ten. They have a shot at making a plan. Especially if the fact the last two big ten title games they played against ohio state and both seventeen and nineteen. They gave ohio state a game both times. So keep your eyes on wisconsin but my number one surprise team is really a surprise because this washington huskies. And when you look at washington. They've got that big offensive line. Three hundred twenty eight pounds per man. They're they're running backs. Go five. Deep sean They've got to veteran quarterbacks. They've got a good tight end room with dot and and defensively. Jimmy lake always does a great job. They've had just two and six returning starters last two years this year. They've got eight starters back on defense and then their schedule. I absolutely love they avoid. Usc and utah out of the south. The two top teams and their toughest two games all year our oregon and arizona state and they get them both at home and i feel homefield that just going to be huge this year because fans are deprived to going to the game last year. They're gonna return and large numbers. They're gonna return very loud. So i actually have washington favored in all twelve games. And they don't even know if they're in the top twenty this year so keep your eyes on the washington. Huskies or a big time surprise. Still steel as good as it gets. It gets three hundred fifty two page. The twenty twenty one college football preview been doing it for three decades and his as good as joins us here for all our college. Football stuff. On the sean salisbury show. And i'm glad my trojans don't have to deal with washington or oregon. So they should. They should have a really good chance and ucla. Maybe a surprise to them. How steve if. I ask you three years from now. Phil what will we be saying about. Texas.

Assistant coach on the sideline when he's just Kurt Russell. Her brother. There you go. There you go. So you see you see me? No, I haven't seen my work. No se my work. What do you think when you see your old game film when you're watching highlights and you come on. Oh, I mean it. Just You know what you just kind of brings back memories of being young and being able to do that kind of cool stuff on the field and living out my dream. Um and And really almost was kind of butterflies, you know, of actually playing in the game and that sort of excitement you get, Um what? Why you actually going through it in the middle of it, so it's pretty cool. Can you teach your style of running? That's a good question. I think I think e think to some to some. Yes. You can teach it to others. Maybe not. But I think I think I'm just some to their how many guys had your ability to cut I don't know how fast you were. I just know you had that ability to cut Absolutely no, I think, but I think to the right individuals. I think you can teach it. But how many guys? I mean? I don't know. I mean, Dan. Um, I watched the game as a kid and I was imitating so many guys like Joe Washington and Greg Pruitt and pony door set. And O. J and Marcus Allen and guys like that s so I can't. I can't. Sit up here like ir third any any of it? Yeah. You know what? Your perfect your style was. You had to run for your life behind that lions offensive line like that was your style. No. Hey, look, I you know, I think for me absolutely with my style. That's the way I'd always run. I trust me as a kid. That's the way I ran. Um you know, even when I didn't have the Lions offensive line, you know, so But that's just the way I ran. Take me back to when you played your last game. And I got a call from your agent, Peter Shaffer. And he said. Hey, Barry is going to take a flight to London. Uh, right. Right, Right. Okay. Did you know prior to the game? That that was your last game and that you were going to take a flight to London as you ended your NFL career. We'll know at the time I retired. I didn't know I was going to take a flight to London because the fight the London happened in July or something like that, on the eve of training camp in the last game would have been that December. I guess of 98. I would think and so and so, but I knew that season. That was pretty much it. I knew. You know, I just I just knew that you know what I played 10 Great years and It had a great run. Didn't see Didn't really see a reason that, you know, continue. In the game. I knew that that drive and you know that kind of thing. You that pilot light, you know that That's always lift that drives you. That you know that Dr that that fire within? I just knew that that was going on at a year 10, and it was just time to move on. I mean, something is something that I mean, I guess unless you unless you've had that experience of where You know, you have to make a change in life like that. Maybe it doesn't sound very clear. But I just knew that understood. Yes, it's time. It's time to move on. Was there any part of you who didn't want to break Walter Payton's rushing record? Um I don't know. I mean, That zoo tough question to answer because being a lifelong fan of And I failed and Walter Payton and running backs. I understood what that meant. But I just knew that for me, you know the game. It's just run its course. And I, you know I didn't get it in the time that I played, you know, got close enough. And this, you know, it's always honored to be mentioned with Walter. You know, so so You know, So Yeah, that's kind of hard like that. But I also wonder, you know, the lines just said to Matthew Stafford. Hey, we're gonna let you like You pick where you want to go, or we're gonna try to help you go someplace. I was wondering if you were playing now with the Lions, and they weren't winning. And they had that, you know, maybe they would look at the same way and go. Hey, you want to go to the Raiders were going to send you to the Raiders or your favorite team. I think back then, do you think that's what the lines were doing with Matthew Stafford is basically saying, Hey, We're not going anywhere. Here's our thank you to you. We're gonna send you to the L. A Rams. Yeah. I mean, there were apparently seem to be some some of that. I think it's a different It's a different league. Now. I think And you know he's meant so much to the franchise. He's carried us for many, many years and And, um, you know, so so, yeah. I mean, you know, whatever that conversation was the to sort of came to an agreement that that was the best thing for both parties. Um, you know, I don't I don't know exactly. You know the details of the conversation, but What a blockbuster trade and I mean, Wow. Um, you know and s O. Hey, look, Hopefully it works out well for both. Um, you know, we're getting, uh, We're getting a young man who's played a lot of a lot of, um It's a very big games in a short career. Um, you know, and we'll see what happens. And you're okay with the trade for the If you're being aligned for Dad, I think we got a lot for it. Okay. I think we got a lot. I think we've got a lot forward. I think Wow. I mean, you know, you look at the picks and and things like that. Um, yeah, I think I think, uh, we came out pretty good. Uh, to this point, I think we could say that. Yeah, we should feel pretty good about it. He's very Sanders, the Hall of Famer joining us, We'll get to what he's promoting..

"I don't remember too. Much larry brown. I remember watching the eighties. But i didn't realize how big and imposing how great he was and he was there to. This was a very formidable line and it was good to have them back. Because you had franco harris rocky bleier sidney thornton and the rookie greg. Hawthorne trying to run through some holes they need to get the running game going. Could they do it in this game. We will definitely see but this is a fun one to talk about. So let's get started the fifty ninth meeting between the browns and the steelers once again october. Seventh nineteen seventy nine and the newly acquired dino hall. He was set to go ahead and get the kickoff in hall tony. Wasn't he coaching little league football the week before he was the guy off the street. And now he's he's returning punts and kicks against the world champion steelers and he set a record that day when i went back to look at this day in history they mentioned dino hall. They didn't mention the game. But dino hall who had nine kick returns kicker punt returns in one game as a cleveland browns record setting it. So that's really interesting. And he was a pretty good player to he advanced the ball to the browns thirty four after fielding matt bars kickoff matt bahr the rookie from penn state then browns head coach sam rutigliano and offensive coordinator. Jim schaaf ner. They wanted to establish the run early. That's something that don creaky. And john brody in the booth for. Nbc was adamant that they had to do and they mentioned that if you can do this against the steel curtain this formidable foe of a defense than you're going to do very well and they had the running backs to do it now. Greg pruitt was injured. Tony but mike pruitt. No relation. i believe and calvin hill and calvin hill. I think he's famous for siring. A son is isn't that correct. Yeah grant hill pretty good college basketball player in a pretty good. Nba player in seeing seeing kevin hill. This game is so weird for me. Because i'm so used to see him. Shirley seventy s highlights with the cowboys. Yeah i thought it was weird. I didn't remember that he was with the browns. I thought it was really cool. So jack lambert and dennis stirred winston. They sure that that wouldn't happen too early. They had a big hit on pruitt on third down. The ball popped loose dennis winston. Recover just like that at the browns forty so the advantage of the ball. I was not for the browns. It was for the steelers. Tony great tone set to start the game. Wouldn't you think absolutely playing on a road against a division. Rival and in winston was We've talked about in the past. One of the unsung heroes. From that era. Immediately the steelers started to move the chain. When sidney thornton took the hand off from terry bradshaw behind a great block by sam davis for a gain of twenty three yards then on third and one from the seven just like that bradshaw found benny cunningham over the middle to what looked like a fumble or it could have been an incompletion. But it was wrote a touchdown. The steelers lead seven. Nothing just like that. Tony that would have probably been called back in. Today's modern era football it. Yeah ironically enough. It was later on in that year in the afc championship game when one of the biggest reasons why they had eventually have replay in the oilers game. But yeah this looks like it could have been a fumble or at least incomplete pass but bradshaw and counting and had a great chemistry in those days. They did now someone else. That had a great chemistry with his receivers. Was brian sipe so he decided that he was going to try to get the browns back to it. They started with a run to move the chains. But then the here goes site going back to throw and it went into the wind and the browns had punt could not connect. He was looking to strike quickly. He could not then another guy. He found john stallworth right away. And that's terry bradshaw. If you don't know who. I'm talking about for a long pitch and catch for thirty seven yards down to the cleveland. Twenty nine after moving. The chains terry located sidney thornton in the end zone for a ten yard scoring. Toss just like that fourteen. Nothing in favor of the steelers. And they talk about sidney thornton playing behind rocky bleier in franco harris. How great he was he was. Nineteen seventy nine. Yeah they had a lot of injury issues. Steelers did and he He came in place and valuable minutes for them. And and what. I like about this play. The most is bradfo. People forget what a great athlete he was. And how kind of stayed in live in the pocket and then found thornton for that touchdown he really did. And it was a very impressive display by terry as well in fact he started off this game. Eight for eight. He did not throw a lot of yardage. Didn't have to and you'll find out. Why but he was really on in this game and -tarian in that season through a lot of interceptions. There are a lot of turnovers on for the steelers in seventy nine championship season. But not on this day on the third series the browns. They started to move the ball down. The field was with receptions by ozzie. Newsome the hall of famer and calvin hill and they would also log a pass interference with calls on jack lambert and another one on mel blunt. Cleveland did however they got stopped on the twelve they brought in the reliable don croft for a nineteen yard field. Goal was don cockroach reliable on this kick tony. He was not e salad wide right and it was still a fourteen. Nothing good guys yes. It did go wide right. Steelers get the ball back on and one from their own twenty nine. The steelers handed off franco harris to try to advance the chains. They needed to get that first down. They would not get the first down. Because tony franco harris decided to do something else knows iconic place. I was talking about that. I remember from my. Nfl films days in the eighties. He just exploded on the right side line and people forget how fast franko was. I mean he just took off on his play. He went pretty much untouched for to touch on it. It was it was a magnificent run by him. Absolutely was twenty one nothing..

"We heard a bit about Idaho history. About Ruby Ridge and the weaver families fatal standoff with the fence. I asked Jennifer Ellis the cattle rancher about that legacy. I think people in the country and large look North Idaho and they remember the Aryan. Nations. Compound was and how I believe that got. That's not indicative of IDAHOANS, general by no means. But we don't do ourselves. Any favors when we Go further and further to the right in the folks that are representing North Idaho legislature. I mean, we have a representative that campaign with a confederate flag. A representative who's been elected multiple times with the help of Greg Pruitt. Jennifer says the list of Greg's friends on the far right goes on and on. Your guys to gun rally last September and invited a member of the infamous Bundy clan. Avenue somebody that knows firsthand. How important the Second Amendment is there was a lot ammon Bundy was the leader of an armed takeover of an Oregon Wildlife Refuge in two thousand sixteen. Citizens went down there and did exactly what the Second Amendment was intended to do. So with that. I would like to bring down this avenue Bundy. Bundy's month-long occupation ended after an FBI agent shot one of his supporters dead. Ammon is beloved by militia types. Criminals would have. US believe that monopoly on force it's healthy to a nation. But the Second Amendment teaches us otherwise Greg also calls Matt Shea. A friend Shea is a Washington state representative who has deep ties to militias and the Christian identity movement. We heard about in the last episode. He's made national headlines A couple times. Here's Chris Hayes on MSNBC. Just last year he admitted to offering an absolutely crazy document titled Biblical basis for war, which is basically a manifesto for Christian holy work quote if they do not yield kill all males. Jennifer says it's been surreal to watch these causes take hold I don't know I guess it's just a place that I wouldn't've ever believed we'd go. When you see the names they put up and when in you know they say it's all being funny. Well, it's not funny to me when you're threatening law enforcement, she's talking about another one of Greg's buddies a militia guy he is the head of the. Centers. That said these cops should be boiled in oil. There's names about the BOO Goo. Well, I think that we've all seen a dose of what that is of late in this country. The BUCALIU. In case, you're lucky enough to not knowing about it is Internet slang for a second civil war. It's a concept that attracts a lot of militia and far-right activity at this point dozens of men associated with the boo glue have been arrested for violent plots, weapons, charges, and at least one for murder. Jennifer sees a lot of the stuff orbiting around Greg Pruitt's online kingdom. So called Patriot militia types, posting tips on things like anti personnel explosives I'm how to put together your own tanks. Does that feel Super American to you? Doesn't to me. Just, like back in the ninety s with Larry Pratt and gun owners of America. Greg and his Idaho gun group are a kind of pub. A Bridge that straddles two worlds. anti-government groups and the halls of power. These days and Idaho at least that bridge is like six lanes wide. And a few years ago Jennifer, and some of her friends had just had enough a bunch of like minded folks and I got together and we have a website called conservatives. And we ride original content and the whole goal of Idaho Conservatives was Kinda to try to be the voice of reason in Idaho where we felt like the far far right in the Republican Party was controlling the narrative for a lot of folks who consider US ourselves to not be extremists this Idaho. Conservatives website does gun giveaways celebrates conservative Supreme Court nominations. It also encourages covert testing and calls militia groups, terrorists commit violence. Jennifer says most people would prefer to just ignore what to her feels like well, fringy nonsense out of Greg and I think a lot of folks in Idaho. Went holy cow this guy's crazy. He'll go away well, because nobody stood up with to him. He just grew and grew and grew I mean it's like a you know. Bad Virus or Not Bad is not what I should've said choice of words aside she's not wrong that there might be something viral going on here. How would you compare the makeup of the legislature in Idaho today versus five or ten or fifteen years ago Oh significantly more. Significantly more folks that have been elected the are far far right. Thinking how many if you had to estimate in the house right now, I'd say twenty. Legislators. Republican legislators that's more than a quarter of the state's House of Representatives. That doesn't even include Idaho's Lieutenant Governor. A favorite of local militia groups..

"In the first episode of this podcast, we posed the question. What could the second amendment possibly have to do with Corona virus? I'm sorry. Angry kids. It's a little hard to hear over the angry kids but this is a video of police officers in a group of angry MOMS and Idaho. It's April twenty twenty nearly a month in a governor Brad statewide stay at home order. Schools are closed toilet paper sold out. We don't understand this virus and people are scared. And yet these MOMS go to a playground in Meridian. Idaho. Rip Down some caution tape and let their kids have added. The moms are basically daring police try to enforce the governor's order. Your the Line enforcement on an order that quite frankly constitution. To take. Urine forcing at right now. This goes on for a few minutes. Until one of the COPS has had enough he starts counting down. From Five. One Mom Caesar opening turns away from the COP lifts her arms behind her back and says, arrest me for being at the park. Do it report it. Okay. This is not woods officer. You don't WanNa do that. Are You Being arrested or detained. And arrested or detained. She was arrested for trespassing. The quarantine playground story makes National News Bingo. Just thing you'd be going for if you happen to be, let's say an anti vaccination activists looking to rally opposition against this new form of medical tyranny. This woman. Is Sarah Walton Brady. She runs idahoans for vaccine freedom a tiny facebook group that shares theories about vaccinations independent. Soon as Sarah got arrested, Greg started live streaming. He told his followers she was just like any other. American frustrated with this fresh wave of government overreach and we're GONNA go down in protest the arrest of Sarah Brady in front of the Meridian City Hall meanwhile folks on read it quickly tracked down facebook posts that suggest it was a plants dot with a name, the tear the tape down event. Sarah Walton Brady has denied this. Now Greg pruitt is a gun guy but Jennifer Ellis the Idaho cattle rancher started keeping an eye on them. says. Greg has basically become a one man propaganda banned for this whole set of thriving anti-government subcultures. Life partners the door brothers Greg has several facebook groups. Most, have their own custom banner for shooting live videos. So he has one for Washington, gun rights one for Greg Pruitt for Idaho, he had one called title of Liberty. But over on his Idaho Second Amendment Alliance facebook page I A for short greg posts North West Gun news articles as if they're from a legit news outlet. In fact, you can go watch him if you wanted to watch kind of a real time play of this. So he's doing facebook live on for to A. One point in the day yesterday. then. He's changed shirts on I'm literally meaning changed shirts and hats, and then he's interviewing people in Moscow. For Idaho dispatch because this isn't about guns right? It was about protesting. The mask order. The door brothers have a national version of North West Gun news they call it second amendment. Daily. Same deal. Greg and Patrick take these articles that they wrote incite them as proof that the world is exactly the way they say it's But. There's no visible hint that they control what's in the articles. And must you visit the facebook page to click on a video and their faces popping as this show? I signed up for the second, amendment daily email list and the confirmation page at a button that said. Return. To Patrick Parsons Company. These articles are shared far beyond their facebook pages sometimes even making the front page. Of Reddin, we checked with news whip a media intelligence company that tracks social media engagement. They found Second Amendment daily articles that were shared, twenty, five, thousand, fifty, thousand, eighty, six, thousand times, and even people who can't stand the door brothers sometimes accidentally share these stories. Including a lawmaker we interviewed about the doors. Remember Suzy pollock Missouri, who Aaron Door was trashing in a video and I miss. Red. As the blood in my veins. "All season is right around the corner Mike as we've talked about that we haven't spent too much time in the NC double a yet I mean you have this week and last we get all the media days going out it's been fun to try to watch some of that we know it's getting close but a month out from the start a college football now NC double a favorites it sure looks like Clemson and bam are on a collision course again Clemson's a slight favorite here over Bama functions plus one eighty to win the national championship Bama is plus two hundred Ohio state is seven to one George is eight and a half to one in in Michigan and I always find a way to sort of blow it lately you're at least that's been the ammo under Jim Harbaugh here they are plus fourteen hundred but it sure looks like ones in in Bama for what it be out I don't know what I've lost count of that be a fifth St year is that right first of all I will I want to thank Eric for playing some Taiwanese country I'm a big fan of their father yeah well of different their executive walk how boring is this how boring this college football now seriously it's just so routine now I mean you know do you know who's going to win their sixteens realistically I think that haven't even have a shot at winning the national title don't you think the youngsters fodder that's what it is it's not to put the pro sports except its action and you know what that's all I care about I don't care if they're in the way back I don't care if the wind why act I don't care what league to rent I don't know what the reason is long as the numbers looked good work on a roll because I'm strong oncology I'm strong and young of cell and you know what it doesn't matter Hey that's right there is that one week the one to five one in five teen is getting fifty points that they cover by by like a point that's that that that's what we're about and you know what I love the look at least we know about college with totals com yep that debt with them they're going to play yes hello there's no rest so they're more dependable than the NBA fault if you bought a season total you're going to get your effort every single game for the most part yes by the way one total I do like the over Syracuse is over I I nailed one in the ACC last year at Barden Darling this year well you know they lost their quarterback Dungy but they've got a kid that I'm blanking on his name I'm not gonna be able to remember they got to France for I think are maybe not a transfer but a former four star recruited tool thread kid that are going to deal beavers offense and it probably be okay they got a lot of their offense back they did lose the quarterback but his offense works in his offense is really good so I it could they be a little bit of a Darling I think so and maybe this is one of those situations where Vegas know something why is the total as low as it is but I like the over four Syracuse here what is it don't I it's seven if I'm not mistaken I had it I thought I saw that seven my boy I I like the over there especially in a bowl game absolutely from here they are very very sentimental from Jim Brown the Floyd little to Larry sock got all the way now to Donovan McNabb back in the day now if you know the resurrection but seven if your Dino baseboards and you're looking at that seven you're worried right now you're worried right now because I'm with you easy to take the over if it it is seven yeah Eric studies looking at eight to at regardless at seven at seven or eight I like Syracuse and I think that they can be I think they're gonna be good again Dino beavers offense is really really good are selling all right gosh I don't even look at the two one half I'd be I'd like all of your just bought the beard about love yeah like I mean whether when that's what you're hearing about there's a problem how much longer this school of buckets the school of Grange the school of a millionaire's ago the school of Jack Trudeau there you go I would say it it's like the totals three day Hey hello I'm not worse the chief please it's not working out let's go hi it's been a Heisman favorites to what in a to a ton of Iowa and Trevor Lawrence are the co favorites at plus two fifty I'm a large guy one that I I I Lawrence is something I love them if you want a longer shot one that I'm looking at that I might back at nine to one is J. one hurts after transfer in Oklahoma now Lincoln Riley didn't even fully commit to him at at big twelve media day which I thought was interesting but I guess it's just what these college coaches do now I mean even you know even a saving doesn't constantly down in Alabama I think Jaylen hurts maybe a little chip on his shoulder has a chance to really be good in Lincoln Riley's offense look Lincoln Riley's hit the last two Heisman winners as any Baker field in calorie can you make it three in a row Jalin hurts at nine to one maybe there's some value there I think Adrian Martinez at Nebraska is interesting as well he's eleven to one if you're looking for a non quarterback and I don't think you should Jonathan Taylor at Wisconsin would be the play to me can I take your team to one I would stop at twelve guy because I was stationed at Fort Riley Kansas from nineteen seventy two did I double seventy two to seventy four and I had an apartment right across from the stadium at manta yeah really yeah may have three bodies yeah and I went to the games when Steve Grogan was it was was it at all I forget what school it was that it can't just stay in the state he was the quarterback Joe Washington was when I ate and Greg Pruitt forty Oklahoma guys but the years when I do remember about them at a recent ice but twelve you would just come out of there because they don't play defense and the big twelve especially today yeah you're right don't and I take it up at their steps and I'm not taking anything away from Baker Mayfield but in other cockroaches it's hard to have a Heisman Trophy winner because if they do play defense for the most part I mean for the most part I'll give the I will be in the running backs all the credit in the world date date date they aren't whatever they get in that class which they really do well that and that's the only running back since twenty ten to win the Heisman was in Alabama running back so for since twenty ten quarterbacks have won eight of the nine Heisman trophies in the only running back Lawrence gets a good look at get writer's role yeah you can get along no no claims that he was a good one they won the cash right as a freshman last year right number fifty eight right I think yeah that kid it's gonna make nothing but money only get in the NFL is going to make nothing about money and if he he's going to be like I'm not I I I know he's supposed to be a pretty good straight forward type of sounds like yeah and you know what each other is devoted to football that kid there he's going to be covered by a lot of things he's a cult favorite to a two and a half to one Derrick Henry the only quarterbacks install excuse me running back since twenty ten the only non quarterback to win bad Bama in two thousand fifteen I let's bring in our Merrin era Strauss can we always.

When you try to do it to get ready to do it in the more, you think about how the audiences sometimes when you're on stage. And you don't see the audience, it can be very helpful Letterman. "A full week. Two of the NFL season is here, but I want to talk about a little bit of baseball. If we could hear Gary behind the glass, can you pull up for me? I think the guy's name is Brady Feigel. If have you seen this? The two minor league baseball players I should've given you end up about this two seconds before I brought it up anyway. If you can track that one down in the meantime, though a, so what do you make of people are getting yet there? It is Dylan. You got plyer being Gary. If you could share that with, you can't share that with the two guys look like. Brady Feigel. Right. Is that the same guy, those guy there, two guys to minor league baseball players. They both have red beards. They both wear those funky baseball glasses. They are unrelated those two guys right there. They are identical twins. They're their names are both Brady Feigel. They are separated by five years. So it is not one of those they were. They were actually twins, but they got separate five years difference. That is the craziest thing I've ever seen in sports much worse than that. Are they're related or not. They're not both named Feigel. Both named Feigel both named Brady with red beards. They look identical. One is lefty. One is righty, and they are unrelated. I think that is one of the craziest things that I've seen worse than Jack and Jim Youngblood. Both being white defenders for the LA Rams at the same time related, Greg, Mike Pruitt to black running back for the Cleveland Browns at the same time unrelated this Trump's that by a lot. I was just talking about Pruitt and running back. Was that carried some ex-pat thing, but you were just talking about Pruitt being a another running back on the and they're unrelated. I. Jerseys on on the on the Kurla show, and Greg Pruitt was the guy who did he always wore them and it became the great pro rule when they banned it right there. Another running back named Pruitt on the Browns are right, and they leaked to and it was the same. That's getting in the same way PR. You IT and there were drew in Preston Pearson, both on right on the Cowboys again, unrelated, it's crazy, but this, like I say, you gotta look this up. Feigel f. e. I l. if you're listening and wanna look it up, it really is kind say this to everybody. I'm going to do a little role playing with myself. Okay. And I'm gonna do a little a little a and be the first one is what I get. It's involving sports in baseball around stuff. You brought a baseball on baseball and the second one is what I should get. One is the first one is reality. What happens constantly. And then the second one I will enact in a role playing with myself, which is what I should get. Okay. All right. Okay. So here's how it goes. I was watching the TV was up on the up on the screen. I don't know where I was, but I was with my wife, Lynette, and one of the angels players pulled up to the plate with the pine tar, smeared all over the helmet, just all over the front of helmets. That's one of your least favorite things. Well, the reason. I'm not. It's one of my least favorite things because it's called a uniform and you're not allowed to desecrate your uniform. You wouldn't be allowed to put an SAP sticker on the side. Your helmet go. Why think it's cool mom. My dad used to be mechanic and someone could say, well, what's that got to do with baseball? There's pine tar. They put it on a rag. You wipe it on the bat. It's all over the bat..

"They're clearly confused two different words right. We could move on. But what what? What Jeff says REO did which which which I've Jek to is the people that go. Yeah, I know. But he should have known. It's like these time. Then we're not free to talk. Everyone's should've known. You should've should've known hits like, I know what you're saying as a person is, you know, when you have a microphone in front of it, is that really what we want every announcer thinking. Does it have this word monkey involved with it at all? Can I say monkey ranch or monkey around or monkey in the middle there, anything along a black guy. Like I'm gonna I'm gonna think about everything. I say all the times big north of the border. Doug Adler by the way. All right was oh. Yeah, show bucks. Let me tell you about tearaway jerseys and the NFL early seventies you say they started? Yeah. I mean, not everybody wore them, obviously, and in order for them to be affected, you couldn't wear anything under it. So a lot of players play very cold environments didn't wanna wear them, and Greg Pruitt drafted and seventy three brought him in and like. Roy Jones. Yeah. And so and actually it's actually knows Greg Pruitt rule when they banned seventy. Nine is brother played in the league as well. There's a couple Pruitt's in there a Pruitt on the Browns and other Pruitt anyway..
