"Ah, lot of your clients have been listening to the show, too. And A lot of them have been saying to you. Great. I think you're gonna get so busy. You're not going to be on call for me anymore. That's just not true. Is it? No, of course it's not true. I enjoy what I do. And I've never seen a divisive. That's so busy. They don't have time for anybody. I mean, if that's true, then maybe there Maybe they don't wanna be in the business anymore. But there's a why you are in the business. You are on call, and we love getting to know our listeners here too. We've had so many great questions over these last few weeks, and we want to remind you if you want to learn more from the guy you're hearing on the radio. We do have our retirement academy coming up later this month. May 19th If you'd like to join us for that dinner event, you can reach us and Greg dinner is involved, too. But we're keeping these events small for our listeners. So This is their chance to come in asking questions. If they'd like. Yes, I hope to see people out there. It's been over a year since we've done this and normally have a very good turnout will be having it over it. Spanky teenies in Seal Beach, So please R S V P I need to do it by calling into the show or you can do it by going to our website because seats to fill it fast and then they're very informative and also know that you know, none of my presentations that are due are the same. They're always different because I basically change things too. What's going on in the market and what's going on in politics in regards to how things were affected with, you know, I think I'll be changes with interest rates, you know, or as the big topic that's coming up is taxes in capital gains, so I will be discussing that in great detail on the next one. That'll be coming up in June as well. That's right. We're gonna take it to different neighborhoods, different great restaurants around the area to Greg's kind of a foodie, too. So if you want to learn more in this group setting, this is a great way. Especially when you're talking Italian for this event, Greg, I don't know I'm might have to join you, too. But we're looking forward to seeing some of you at these events to so again if you want to make that reservation talk to us off the air during today's show, 562 269 1007, and you brought up politics. So let's go there this week. Greg, I think this us that might be a little interesting to some of our listeners here this weekend, according to C F R, a research President Biden has had the strongest stock market performance during a new president's 1st 100 days since John F. Kennedy back in 1961. Of course, over the previous four years, we have the Trump train. Do you think this? I don't know. We'll call it the Biden boom. Do you think it's something we can feel good about when it comes to our investments? Well, it's something to be good about. But he's not directly responsible predecessor because if you look at things it was, you know, the During of taxes. You know, if you look at what happened before the pandemic, we had one of the best economies that the US has ever seen. And then when the pandemic came, it put everything literally. The brakes were put on emergency brakes were put on. And now that everything's recovering, you know, if you look at if you compare numbers to it last year, when we're locked down anything looks great, too. What happened last year were sitting at home. But, yeah, I mean, a lot of the stuff was done because of the tax changes and because of the prior administration, and if it wasn't for operation warp speed, which is a lot of Saul, get the vaccine faster. If you look what's going on in the world, I mean, I feel sorry for India. You know, they're forced to take the vaccines from Russia and China, which I think are 50% or even sometimes a 30%. And here we're very fortunate. This country we've got, you know three vaccines. One. That's 90% of the one thing that 95% and then we've got Johnson and Johnson, which I think is up to 65%. I mean, that's a lot better than what the world has, You know, so we're very fortunate to be here. But that's where the economy is doing well being our technology and What we've done with the pandemic. We've been able to turn things around. Yeah, you make a great point. A lot of that work started with the previous administration. So that's why you've been telling us though, Greg, you're not so much worried about these first couple quarters of the year. It's really later in 2021. That's causing you concern right now. Why is that? Because of the taxes that are coming. I mean, all this free money that we're getting out. The other thing I want to talk about. You know, if you look at the real estate market here in California, it's hot. Single family residences are just I mean, they're outbidding people. The other flying And right now, people have that anxiety that they're not going to get. You know, if you're a seller, it's great. But if you're a buyer, you have decided, you know you're not going to get a home. You're going to get a home. You're gonna pay more if you're willing to buy into that mindset, But things are going to change. I mean the inventory things will get better. So there's a lot happening right now financially. And even if your portfolio is doing really well, a lot of us have concerns about what happens to taxes from here. What about those real estate prices? If you were planning a move in retirement that might affect your plans to and That's the kind of conversation that Greg's having right now with his clients and advisors on call, And if you'd like to evaluate where you stand right now, take a look at the risk.

The founder and president of seltzer retirement services in hingham massachusetts. We're here to remind you. We don't want you to worry about money in retirement. That is the overall key. And you hear that. And you know it's happening in your own world that you don't have that worry boy. Is that a sigh of relief. Mark great to see you. We have a special guest coming up shortly. Wanna tell us about that. Great to see you too. I hope you're hope you're doing well Yeah so you know. Like i said. The financial physical is what we would try to help clients within it. Encompasses everything not just the income side of things abso stimuli millard on myself work together for several years. He's one of our team members. His specialty is medicare the reason. I bring it up this that you know the open enrollment period is coming up at shortly next week or two and it's a cake seven-week window a no one wants to be dangerous on it. But i don't know enough to give actual advice on it. So i wanted to have come on the show. I just kind of explain to people what they should be thinking about how they can be to our office and setup strategy coal with myself. Or what's do they have specific questions on that They can meet him face to face. We can get on a zoom call. Obviously we're extremely On top of the social distancing For meeting with clients so whatever way people want to do that so i wanted to have him on the show and just kind of talk a little bit about his role. I really enjoy stews company. We met last year in studio or doing a little differently this year. Obviously he'll be on the phone but he's got a very easy way a comforting way and that's important because this is such a confusing time anyway but you add in the medicare responsibilities with this enrollment period can be tough so that's very much we're looking forward to hearing from stu. Also there's a seminar coming up and we'll just tease this talk about further later in the show but a lot of people Have remarked on how much care you're taking and i know you care very much about this. How things go when people are together in public so let's talk first of all about when the seminars occurring in wear right so we have seminars next wednesday and thursday evening at davos and braintree again. We're super excited to kind of get back into room and talk to people. But i did. You know in our last workshops which we given a couple of weeks ago pine hills. I did want to make sure that people knew that they were they. Were gonna be comfortable that we're gonna have social distance and you know the same thing with davos who wanna make sure tables spaced correctly. Restaurants are on top of things. We're trying to support local economies. Were trying to get back into the normal way of life But we're also trying to spread really good information to to individuals at to what we do in how we can help people so next week's event think we're allowed to have thirty six people per night total. I think one of the events already full. You'd have to call the office in hollywood be able to Let you know but yeah. I'm really excited to get back into a room over in davos and have some good information. Greg dinner it'd be a line on to kind of go from there but again people are concerned anywhere that they go. They should know that. Does i know steve di filippo personally. He's he's right on top of things has been since the beginning but social retirement services. I think you're as well stock with. Ppe this anybody. I know since the beginning of all this so People should be very very happy that that's going to be the case. Yeah we're am. You have to stay on top of things. You obviously have to make sure that everyone feels comfortable in the room. So we're at. Can we obviously take care of bad side of things. We're excited to have many of these folks in some people who come to workshops have listened to the radio show for a few years. So it's it's nice to kind of meet meet listeners. I do believe our guest is on the phone. One and i let you introduce stu lard so jordan as you know we do the overall financial physical and it's not just about income and growth of money. Obviously that's the primary focus of our business but there's so many other things that are involved in helping somebody transition from working fulltime into being retired on one of those things one of the members of the team. I'm fortunate to be able to have him on. the on. the line with us today is medicare. everyone turns sixty five at some point. Whether you're retired are working at some stage in your life. You're going to have to start thinking about what to do when you look at signing for medicare so in light of the fact that i think open enrollment starting next week. I wanted to bring stu millard on. Who's one of our fantastic specialists. Who meet with our clients when they have questions when they're getting ready to start to sign up for medicare and and basically takes the guesswork wanted to have come on today. I think we in fact. I know you've spoken to before a year or so ago on the show and i just wanted to kind of go through the steps of what people should be thinking about as they get close to open enroll. So welcome stu. Thanks for joining us on the show appreciate. I know you're busy. Yeah thank you mark for inviting me on As as you said it is a busy time of year for those of us are involved in the medicare space. We're coming up to the period of time that folks already have a medicare plan are allowed to make any changes for the first of the following year and the dates that you can make. Those changes are october. Fifteenth to december seventh. So during that seven week period. Anyone that already has a medicare plan has the option to make any changes. They like to make for the first of the following year and i would encourage anyone. That's listening that already is on a medicare plan to review any documents at your car insurance provider as mailed to you in the last few weeks you should have received something called an annual notice of change letter which will outline any changes in your plan for twenty twenty want and some of the plans are gonna make some wholesale changes so i would strongly encourage everyone to dig up that material. If they don't have it handy review the coverages for next share and make sure that they're comfortable with any changes at their plan. May make this information that you get an anomaly person when it comes to the site defer to you as the expert so i know probably little or nothing about it. What is a complicated when people get this information in the mail. I is it something. That's easy to decipher. Should they be sitting down with a professional and saying hey tell me what i need to change. A great question mark It kinda depends on someone's comfort level a level typically with these letters that you're gonna receive these notices. There will be a chart somewhere in that material that's gonna show you how your plan worked in twenty twenty compared to what the changes are going to be of any for twenty twenty one so folks who dig up that chart look at any co payment changes. They may be making any changes in the premiums with our plan and get make sure that's something that they're comfortable with continue with for the following year. Jump in here for a second and ask how important it is in this time in this window. That people address this because it doesn't last forever. Do tell us about that. You're absolutely right jordan You know we unfortunately for folks. It's a very compressed period of time. You've got really seven weeks to decide if you wanna make some changes again if you're comfortable what you have. Typically you're automatically renewed but again there may be some some changes to that plan that you may not be aware of. That's why. I think it's very important that you review this material and certainly with all that's going on with the cove it and and other issues You know insurance. Health insurance is an awfully important choice for folks and.

"Welcome to another episode of Lamed Parlay. Your host might joke. I'm joining me. Today is none other than the famous James Hinchcliffe James First off. How are you doing today? I'm doing very well. Thanks for asking yourself hanging in there. Man and second question comes from actually comes from my wife is how are the dogs enjoying Hornsey and so far? I think the dogs are sick of seeing becky. I around the house you like. We used to have one of the one of the points guide route. Now you're always you're yell it up to get up the couch and everything so I think they're they're anxious for the evacuated. I do have to say your weller. Looks like he's the size of a small bear at this point already. Yeah Yeah. We're quite quickly approaching sized bear. Think You know when you get that kind of dog either. Bernie doodle tend to many Bernie doodle which is which is kind of funniest thing But it's it's a little bit of A little bit lucky deck with the size of dog they can range from thirty to sixty five pounds really depends on On luck draw and so we weren't sure what we were getting and he's he's eight months and he's he's tipped over fifty so still got a bit of room to go like think is going to be a big boy. Wow that's that's insane. That's actually before I know everybody listens probably like why are you starting with this? But that's actually how I got my wife into paying attention to Indycar was look James. Santa Claus has a dog look at that that dogs instagram and now she actually pays attention to racing so that you did help win my wife over a little bit into the racing world there you go on the dog day. We'll give the dog so we'll we'll go to some some racing here you've got Texas coming up now in just a couple of weeks. Any thoughts or concerns on the fact that it's kind of lumped into one day the first race of the year after a unique in longer than usual off season. The the longer off season is is definitely the weirdest part of it. All you know I mean if you think back to twenty six teen. We got rained out of the first attempt to Texas and came back two or months later. Whatever it was. We got ten minutes the practice and picked up the race on lap. Seventy seven and everything was fine so the the idea of being a one day show. I don't think really Really throws anybody for a loop. It's it's something that we've sort of done in the past In a similar capacity but the weirdest thing is just yeah at at that point of the year. We were three quarters away this even when it happened last time this is going to be everybody's first race since Laguna last September. So there's definitely going to be a little bit of You know more cobwebs do To brush off. And I think everybody's going to have to understand that. Got To go to play a little smarter. Play a little safer you know. I said we're not record of the way through the season. We're just starting off. And so there's there's no reason to make silly moves into to push too hard too fast Hopefully still going to be a long season and a lot of racing involves but it's easy to get things wrong you know trying to trying to rush in all by Going to two quick for sure. That's that was. My thought was okay to our practice before is good but what happens if somebody in your Craxi suspension piece. Do they have enough time? And do they have enough people to fix a car in a couple of hours to get running again? It all depends. You know it all depends on On how big the head is in compared to team is. But you know we've had. We've had days of a of a race weekend. I duNNo. We'll rain that led to qualifying before the race on the same day. And so it's that's not at all Situation that we're not used to you know indycar. Has You know sort of guidelines in terms of how much time minimum they give teams in between sessions in case of something like that and I think all that still being followed so I think it'll be fine awesome so last Texas based question. I don't know how much testing you've personally had with the new era screen. Is there any concern with the new? Just not being familiar with its characteristics. Ana Race track before Texas you know. I don't think I don't think it's concern about about you know characteristics. I'll let me rephrase think concerns the right word you know. I think that every driver and especially in every engineer is the is dying to have more testing and a waste. They were able to come a little bit more prepared but the end of the day is pretty much the same for everyone. You know the work. He's all did a test day at Texas after the CODA Open test so we know the cars have run on track with screen and and there wasn't any problems you know at that task Unfortunately no enter any cars royal the runabout one because all of our guys are Not Classified as rookies but they It's the same sort of scenario for everyone you know and I think it's I think it's GonNa be interesting to see how team sort of handle the task. And I can certainly going to speak to the level of simulation that each team has available to them and and what we roll off with on On I practice and decided morning awesome so we will switch gears here slowly after a couple years away from Andrea. You're you're back into stable. There does that help your confidence going into Texas knowing the team knowing some of the guys that are there and kind of being familiar with how things are typically run it. Andretti does for sure you know if I was if I was walking into an organization I never worked with. I would certainly be a little more apprehensive and maybe a little bit more work to do in in ingratiate myself to the team. But there's a lot of familiar faces. There are a lot of people that I worked with. You know in mice than at Andretti back in twelve to fourteen and And that does definitely. GimMe a degree of confidence. The the tricky part is you know as I was supposed to be heading into my first race at the GP last weekend we were already forays into the season. And I would have been in all those races I would have been Attending engineering briefings. Really getting myself back up to speed with the procedural things that happened at Andretti through thing. You know then. Been five years since they're so there's there's Definitely some things that have changed and it's grown quite a bit since since I last ran there and so it would have been really nice to have at least a little bit of an understanding of you. Know some of their protocols and procedures. And sometimes it's Sorta you know sleep on that stuff to let him marinade now. We're going to be talking about it all shop for the first time. I actually see it and it's going to be the first time doing it so that that part's a little bit a little bit tougher but at the end of the day you know we gotta get in and do the best job that we can make sense so switching gears here slaley. This is a fan question. We saw Joseph new gardens extreme artistic skills on social media. Yeah I mean it's it's really amazing. It's actually still better than I would do. But nonetheless has James Inch lift up any new quarantine hobbies you know so I I swore to myself by the time it was all done. I wanted to be able to juggle. I have I have yet to start practicing. So I'm I'm definitely not on a on a positive stretch there but then the other thing that I I've taken up trying to trying to pick up his Spanish I've been on. Oh I've been on duo lingo for A little bit every day trying to learn a little bit of Spanish. So we'll see how long see how well that holds up. When we get back more I love it so on a similar note you you alex and Sam all appeared on a podcast called whiskey cast that a couple years ago. I was a guest on so I wanted to know since then have found any new whiskey or bourbons that that really caught your eye Honestly what's interesting about quarantine is you're not there shopping and And trying As much bourbon as you are in so So no I think the short answer. I've I've been. I've been plowing through the stock pile of that. I had for corn team starting and it's much much more difficult in Pennsylvania to get anything right now other than what you can get at the local brewery because all of these state run liquor. Stores are closed. So that's all a challenge. I've actually asked mark at Whiskey. Cast a couple of times. What do I do so? And he doesn't really have a very good answer for me because there is no good answer. Did you get one of the fancy whiskey Whiskey cast Gla- tasting glasses. Yeah yeah he sent through a bunch of them so we've got a a bunch of nyc grandparent's now to add to the collection awesome so another question that typically just would ask unfortunately she had to go to work early so she she couldn't join us the depict three guests to bring dinner whether they're still with us or not. Who would your three guests be great? Great Question Well I WANNA have dinner with Greg more. You know. I never got the chance to really get to know my hero and it sucks because I've become such good friends with Dario K. And Guide that were really tight with them So would have been would have been cool to get to know. This is Greg Dinner I would like to have Seth Macfarlane because I think he's going to the funniest guys out there and be it'd be cool to have You know have dinner at a bourbon with him and Last.
