Elevation with Steven Furtick
A highlight from How Did I Get Here? (Travis Greene)
"Hey, this is Steven Furtick. I'm the pastor of Elevation Church, and this is our podcast. I wanted to thank you for joining us today. Hope this inspires you. Hope it builds your faith. Hope it gives you perspective to see God is moving in your life. Enjoy the message. Elevation Church, wow, wow, wow. So, first of all, what we're not going to do is act like you don't have the greatest pastor in the world. Come on, can we get real noisy in this building and all around the globe for the Pastor Steven Furtick, Holly, Eliza Graham, Abs, love you. I'm excited to be here. I'm black, and that's just how we're going to start. We're going to start there. My are roots Pentecostal. Pentecostal is like a fraternity or something. They'd be like, that's my dog. It's not a frat, but I was going to use a headset today so I could dribble with my left hand, but I woke up feeling preachy, so I told them, give me a handheld, because we about to go up Elevation. I love Pastor Steven. He is a songwriter. He is an architect, and he is the greatest communicator in the world. To be on his platform is beyond a blessing, but something funny happened to me. I told myself that I would be validated as a good preacher when he invited me. Let me tell you how gracious God is. He refused to allow me to be invited as long as I believed that, because when heaven wants to affirm you, it doesn't use opportunity, it uses opposition. I know you're anointed not by the stages, but by the scars that you got. I need you to high -five your neighbor like you in Ballantyne and tell them, I know I'm anointed. The struggles that you overcome reveal your anointing. We know that the oil on David worked not from the throne he sat on, but by the giant that fell at his feet, and if open doors can make you, then closed doors can break you. Quit waiting on man to validate you. I'm afraid that in our churches, heaven believes in us, and I'm going to tell you something you never heard before, hell believes in you. This is why the devil and all his imps and wimps have been coming against you, because he know how much you carry. He doesn't bother you if you're not a threat, but if the devil has been trying to come against you and your family and your neighborhood, I need you to give God ten seconds of praise like you know no weapon formed against you. Shall prosper. Come on, praise him like you're an overcomer. Praise him like the battle's already over. I'm not praising him for a victory. I'm praising him from a place of victory. In Jesus' name. In Jesus' name. And so I have a very prophetic word for elevation. It's really for the Columbia campus. Because they up the street from me. But if the shoe fit, you can wear it in here or Orlando or Greenville or wherever you're watching from. I told them to send me a list. It was too long. What y 'all do have is some campuses. My God. We're going to be in Mark, and it's my custom to share the title after I read the scripture, but today I'm going to share it before. I believe God is about to bring your name up. I don't know how it happened for me. I was minding my business, and chumps texted me and said, are you available? And I'm wondering, how did my name get brought up? God's about to bring your name up. Because this is the season, hear me, that God ain't looking for gifts. I got degrees, but I'm going to talk how I want to talk. God ain't looking for gifts. He's after hearts. There's so many people that can sing, man. We don't need another song. We need hearts like Chris and hearts like Jen and hearts like John. Man, we need hearts. God's about to bring your name up. Here's the title for today. How did I get here? How did I get here? Let me preach because my wife told me I take too long to transition. I'm not going to show a family picture. They're all on the ground, but my wife is a dying piece on the front row. I love you. Mark 10, 46. Then they came to Jericho. I teach at Ford City that you can't just read the Bible. Oh, snap, you've got to read the Bible. It's the second read. Then they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples, together with the large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus, which means son of Timaeus, was sitting on the roadside begging. When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me. Many rebuked him. Don't you hate when you're sitting next to the loud one? You're like, okay, I get it. You grateful. I am too, but my God. They told him, be quiet, fam. Jesus. You ever brought your mama to church? I said, mama, I'm preaching at Elevation. Do not come. My mom be tearing the whole row up in the back. I said, be quiet, man. But he shouted all the more. I love that. Son of David, have mercy on me. I really want to preach this next verse, but I got something else to preach. But the next verse says, Jesus, stop. Whoo. There is a DB, if you're into audio. There is a frequency. There is a shout that is packed with enough desperation to get a busy Jesus, a focused Jesus to stop. Oh my God. Are there any praises in the room that know how to get him to stop by? Come on, the only reason I'm in church today is because he stopped by. The only reason I'm in my right mind is because he stopped. The only reason I didn't cut somebody this week is because he stopped by. He stopped by, he stopped by, he stopped by. When he stops, anything is possible. Who am I to deny what the Lord can do? Whatever's impossible for you is easy for him when he stops by. All right, let's keep reading. You ready to sit down. He stopped by and said, call him. I like that. So they called the blind man. Cheer up! On your feet, he's calling you. Now the way my imagination works, I wonder if these are the same people who just told him to hush. That's why you can't listen to people. One second they saying hush, next second they saying cheer up! Cuz, what do you want from me, dog? I mean, throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet, came to Jesus. Here's Jesus. Jesus is really funny. He said, hey, what do you want me to do for you? Blind man's like, ah, let me see. He said, Rabbi, I wanna see, man. I like this. Go, Jesus said. has Your faith healed you. Your shout has healed you. Your resilience has healed you. Somebody, it took your last 20 to get to church today. That's the thing that healed you. The fact that you believed in spite of what you were facing. And the Bible says, I like this word, immediately. I feel it coming, all of a sudden. Immediately. This ain't for everybody. This is just for 50 people and a two year old that can give them a praise and say, that thing about to happen quicker than you can even imagine, immediately. Immediately. He received his sight, followed Jesus along the road. How did I get here? Lord Jesus, I'm gonna pray a prayer. You ready? How did we get here? Amen. You can take your seats. All right, how did I get here? How did I get here? How did I get here? This past week, I went to North Myrtle Beach. That's where my dad is buried, where my mom is from. And we went there to visit my grandma. My grandma is 92 years old. Yeah, yeah. Her classmate was Harriet Tubman. My grandma is so old. She's seen many presidents. And I walk in and my grandma, she's like Isaac. Her sight is fell on her because she's up in age. And she's sitting there with her snuff. You're not from the country if you don't know what snuff is. No teeth, but snuff. I say, my grandma had 14 kids, y 'all. After 10, you don't even feel them no more. There's another child. They just, she got 14 over 40 grandkids. And I walk in and I'm like, grandma. And she's like, whoa, who's that? Get over here. And I go over to her and I say, grandma, it's me. And I can't talk, y 'all. I got speech impediment if you laugh. You laughed and that was not a joke. She's like, ah, I thought it was just me. And my speech marks me. So my grandma, she knew it. And she was like, try this. That's you. I spent some time with her. Something about when your sight is felling, your senses are heightened. And what's interesting about this text, I learned this from Pastor Furtick. You preach every line in the text. So the first thing I want to acknowledge in this text is that the blind man is in Jericho. The word Jericho means fragrance or to smell. Isn't it interesting that he's blind, but he can still smell the roses? So I want to tell you, don't allow your low place that calls you to miss the beauty of the season you're in. He's in Jericho. This is not a mountaintop message. Because most of the people who are asking, how did I get here, aren't on top. You feel like you're at the bottom. You're asking, how did this happen to me? How did I get here? My last great memory was a wedding photo and now I'm a widow. That was my mom at the age of 29 when my dad died on a Sunday morning. I was five years old. How did I get here? How did I get in the back of this police car? How did I get in divorce court? Come on, y 'all, don't look at me in that tone of voice. How did I get here? My life was heading in one direction and then one decision, one thing caused me to get into an uncertain, unfamiliar, and unexpected place. How did I get here? How did I get here? How did I get addicted? How did this happen to my child? How did I get here? And you may think, you may be sitting here thinking like, man, my situation's rough. Listen to me, your situation cannot compare to being blind in the first century.

The Dan Bongino Show
Fresh "Greene" from The Dan Bongino Show
"Now I'm asking a simple question. If this complicated org chart for the Biden crime family had a bunch of entities, what was the CMO marketing, the chief marketing officer? What widgets were they selling? Because the CMO for a widget company markets widgets. What was the CFO doing? A CFO in a company finances for a widget company, the acquisition purchase and production of widgets, a CIO chief innovation officer for a company innovates new ways to make better widgets. Where are the widgets? A chief technology officer thinks of new ways to technologically make and develop and use new technologies to make better widgets. Where are the widgets? Where are the widgets? The answer is there were no widgets. The only widget they were selling with the dreaded air quotes is access to Joe Biden and whatever office he was involved in. It was a brilliant point by Byron Donalds that got kind of glossed over a little bit. There was a lot of showmanship yesterday. I'm not saying that in a negative. Showmanship can be a good thing If it goes nuclear on social media, more people see just how guilty and corrupt the Biden crime family because is you were a better showman. Good for you. People say that it's a negative. I wish politics weren't a performance art, but we live in. So I'm sorry. But this got kind of glossed over. And then this happened yesterday, too. You know Catherine Herridge? Give me a little background on Catherine Herridge. I worked with her over at Fox. We weren't like best friends, but ran into each other once in a while. Always very nice. The greatest compliment I can give Catherine Herridge is I don't know her politics at all. And I don't think anyone else does either. Because she takes her job seriously as a journalist. She does actual journalism -ing, which is rare because journalists don't actually do that anymore. They do activism disguised as journalism -ing. So Catherine Herridge is over at CBS. How she hasn't been fired yet is beyond me. I don't get it. I don't say as that a negative. I say that because CBS isn't interested in journalism. It's an activist network. This is about a minute. But she's doing it. The substance of it isn't as negative as Herridge has prepared against Hunter Biden, not just misdemeanors. And the media talking about this, like this was some misdemeanor thing. You're not telling you the real story. That's great. But you already know that. The reason this clip is important is precisely because you already know it. But liberals didn't. They're hearing this on CBS. And I'm actually shocked they let her do journalism on it. This is good stuff. Check this out. As we're waiting for a decision from Special Counsel David Weiss on potential tax charges against the president's son, I think it's instructive to go back to the documents. This is a closer look at Exhibit 2. And can you see on the front what's listed as potential violations of the tax law. Some of these are felonies with potential jail time, very serious fines. The other is for misdemeanors. And I'd encourage you to go to page 2 in this section called conclusions and recommendations. And you can see for yourself here 2014, 2019, there were recommendations for felony charges. And then it talks about tax years 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019. And based on that coding, those are misdemeanors. And that's a failure to pay or failure to file this document really stands out because the initial plea deal which fell apart in late July, I was inside the courtroom, was for two misdemeanors, which is a big distance away from what's laid out in this document here. That's not important. You already knew this. You guys are smart and ladies because you're listening to this show Levin show. You're tuning in to Newsmax and Fox and OAN and you have your network of people on social media. You're the informed one. You're not the moron Democrat. Yes. That was on CBS. Why they're letting her do it. I have no idea. CBS isn't interested in the news. I'm actually again stunned, stunned that this is happening over there. Remember, 17 percent of Biden voters in the last election said they would have voted differently if they just would have known about all of the Biden corruption. Do not give up on this story. Yesterday was a huge success. Anyway, to you try cut it. All right. Coming back on the other side of the break. The most critical. I saved the best for the most critical piece of audio that came out in video out of yesterday's hearing was something by Marjorie Taylor Greene. There's something the Democrats, it's really bad. They're really desperately trying to hide it about the Bidens. You mean worse than the grifting and yes, worse. I'll show you what I mean. Coming up next, we'll be right back. But it's Hi, Larry Elder and I want to tell you about a man named George or to wrote in about his experience with 100 % drug free relief factor. George drives a garbage truck in Oregon. That's 10 hours a day of limited movement. And guess what that does to a bad knee? It's not good. After a while, George could barely move at the end of his shift and he wasn't really sure what he was going to do. That's when relief factor came into his life. George is still out there working hard every day. But now he does it without pain. Hundreds of thousands of people have tried relief factor and about 70 % them of go on to order more. The Breakdown
A highlight from Could Oil and a Gov't Shutdown Screw Up Powell's Plans?
"Welcome back to The Breakdown with me, NLW. It's a daily podcast on macro, Bitcoin, and the big picture power shifts remaking our world. What's going on, guys? It is Friday, September 22nd, and today we are talking oil, macro, everything that could throw the economy off. But before we get to that, if you are enjoying The Breakdown, please go subscribe to it, give it a rating, give it a review, or if you want to dive deeper into the conversation, come join us on the Breakers Discord. You can find a link at the show notes or go to bit .ly slash breakdown pod. All right, friends, well, we are sort of continuing the macro story today that we picked up around Powell and the FOMC this week. And one of the questions that Powell was asked was about risks that threatened to knock the economy off course. Two that he mentioned that we're going to spend a little time on today include oil prices and a potential government shutdown. Let's start with oil first. The price of crude oil has steadily increased over the past four months. From a low of around $70 in June, oil reached almost $90 a barrel for the US -based WTI benchmark contract and $95 per barrel and $95 per barrel for international Brent crude earlier this week. The price increase for crude has driven US gas prices back above $3 .80 per gallon, the highest level since last October. Overall, gas prices have ramped up by 20 % since the beginning of the year, according to AAA. Now, there are a number of factors all contributing to steadily increasing oil prices since the June lows. The first is OPEC+. The economic group of oil producing nations led by Saudi Arabia and Russia have recently curbed output. Production cuts, which were agreed to late last year, have been gradually implemented over the past six months. In July, Saudi Arabia voluntarily cut an additional 1 million barrels per day from its production quota, about 10 % of its previous output. Existing production cuts across OPEC have already been extended into next year and analysts expect Saudi Arabia to extend their voluntary cuts until March. On Thursday, Russia further constrained supply by banning the export of diesel and petrol. Russia is one of the world's largest suppliers of diesel alongside their status as producing around 12 % of the global supply of crude oil. The International Energy Agency said last year that Russian refineries produce, quote, roughly double the diesel needed to satisfy domestic demand and typically export half their annual production. Analyst opinions focused on the simplest explanation for the ban, retaliation for sanctions. Henning Gloestien of the Eurasia Group said, Russia wants to inflict pain on Europe and the U .S. and it looks like they're now repeating the playbook from gas and the oil market ahead of the winter months. They're showing that they're not finished using their power over energy markets. The Kremlin said the ban was temporary and aimed at addressing rising energy prices in domestic markets. However, they gave no timeline on when the ban might be lifted. U .S. and European policymakers have largely banned the importation of Russian refined fuel since February, which has required Russian supply to be routed through third party regions including Turkey, North Africa and Latin America. Now, OPEC cuts over the past year were predicated on a weakening demand profile heading into this year. At the time they were announced, recessions were expected across Europe and the U .S. China was an open question with the potential of reopening pushed back in the midst of additional pandemic waves. But since then, the European economy is sputtering along, albeit with dismal manufacturing data out of Germany. The sanctioning of Russian supply has caused European demand to be displaced to other regions with refining capacity, largely India and the Middle East. In the U .S., recession has been continuously pushed off into the future and oil demand is now back at all time highs with no signs of slowing. Although the Chinese economy has hit some turbulence recently, oil demand remains robust. Analysts expect China's oil demand to remain high as Beijing secures strategically important resources. What's more, analysts expect China's oil demand to remain high as Beijing secures strategically important resources in part to mitigate geopolitical risks as well as to shore up its manufacturing and transportation industries. So with oil prices spiking, many are wondering whether the White House will once again intervene in markets using the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. Between November 2021 and September of last year, the White House authorized a number of SPR releases. The final policy saw one million barrels per day provided into the market over six months. A small amount of oil was restocked earlier this year, but the SPR still sits at a little over half its pre -pandemic level. Earlier this week, a headline circulated proclaiming that quote, Biden says depleting SPR is on the table. This was later found to be a hoax with no legitimate source, but it demonstrates how difficult high oil prices could be for the U .S. economy heading into election season. To wit, many saw the SPR release as a political decision rather than an economic decision heading into the 2022 midterms. In the private sector, U .S. oil inventories have recently hit 40 -year lows of 46 -day supply, well below the longer -term average of 65 days. And while August's inflation reports already showed a small uptick due to oil -related prices, the effect is expected to be more profound across this month. Dario Perkins, an economist at T .S. Lombard said, That said, it is important to keep these recent inflationary developments in context. We are not yet in danger of undoing 12 months of solid disinflationary progress, not even close. Others suggested that high oil prices would have a greater impact on growth rather than inflation. Maya Bhandari, head of multi -asset at BNP Paribas Asset Management said, It really impacts the growth side of the Goldilocks equation rather than the inflation side of things over the long term. Theory is that sustained high oil prices begin to eat into disposable income for households alongside higher costs of production for manufacturing and logistics. These combine to reduce growth and potentially tip the economy into recession. Overall, this situation in the oil markets has, to some, many parallels to the liquid natural gas spike in the winter of 2022. Prices in some markets rose more than tenfold, European energy companies scrambled to secure supply at any cost, and multiple firms went bankrupt due to the volatility in markets. This week, Bloomberg reported that the trading arm of French supplier Total Energies has played a major role in bidding up the price of U .S.-based oil. Their source claimed that the firm is paying a premium for physical U .S. barrels, pushing the spread against futures to levels not seen since last November. With all of that said, there are some signs that the oil market is beginning to cool off. On Thursday, Brent crude futures fell to $92 per barrel, which represented the third straight day of price declines, which is the longest streak in almost a month. Warren Patterson, head of Commodity Strategy at ING, said the Fed's hawkish messaging has quote, put some pressure on risk assets, including oil. The dollar index has risen by 0 .8 % since Chair Powell left the podium, a large enough move to weigh on asset markets. Patterson said he still expects Brent crude to move above the $100 mark in the near term, but that he doesn't anticipate the move will be sustainable. So that is the view on oil overall. The thing that I am definitely going to be watching more than anything else is the political dimension of this. We are now entering the period where everything, even more than usual, is going to be completely wrapped up in what it means for the election season. If prices at the pump keep trending up, it seems very likely that the Biden administration will be willing to do what it takes, including SPR releases, to get those prices down. But that's just something we're going to have to keep an eye on. Now what about that other factor that Powell mentioned? Well yes, indeed, my friends, the US government is once again hurtling towards a shutdown after efforts to pass a short term spending bill were scuttled on the House floor on Thursday. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy attempted to marshal Republicans to vote through a package to keep the government funded past the end of September. Closed door negotiations continued late into Wednesday night, but were apparently unconvincing. The bill currently being considered is the $886 billion Defense Appropriations Act. The bill was stifled in the House after five GOP representatives refused to allow debate to begin by voting against a preliminary procedural rule. Democrats also voted against the measure and appeared to taunt Republicans apparently reveling in seeing the GOP's slim majority descend into chaos. Among the Republican dissenters was Marjorie Taylor Greene, who opposed the inclusion of $300 million in funding to the Ukrainian war effort. On Thursday, Politico reported that Pentagon sources have said Ukrainian operations have been exempted from any shutdown, making that part of the dispute rather moot. McCarthy sent House members home on Thursday night to return to Washington on Tuesday. He told reporters after the failed vote, quote, two people flipped, so I got to figure out how to fix that. That wasn't the impression they had given us. Now, this was McCarthy's third attempt at bringing the bill to the House floor. The current proposal on the table is a 31 -day stopgap funding mechanism to forestall a shutdown to begin next weekend. McCarthy remarked on the change in tone in Congress among that extreme element of the Republican Party, stating that, quote, this is a whole new concept of individuals that just want to burn the whole place down. Now, even if a 31 -day stopgap is passed in the House, it seems unlikely to make its way through the Democrat -controlled Senate. The bill includes a 30 percent temporary cut to domestic agencies and immigration law changes, neither of which are likely to get the seal of approval from Dems. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said instead of decreasing the chance of a shutdown, Speaker McCarthy is actually increasing it by wasting time on extremist proposals that cannot become law in the Senate. House Democrat leader Hakeem Jeffries remarked that the situation was playing out as a, quote, Republican civil war. Now, if it comes to pass, this would be the 11th government shutdown since 1980. The logic is that hard -line positions that don't enjoy support in the Congress can be put directly to the American people by shutting down the government and drawing attention to the impasse. Republican Ralph Norman said last week that, quote, we're going to have a shutdown. We believe in what we're doing. The jury will be the country. Still, the record on government shutdowns doesn't really support that strategy. Not one of the 10 previous shutdowns resulted in the dissenting group extracting concessions. Typically, the American people quickly turn on the party they view as blocking access to government services over a petty squabble. Alex Conant, a Republican strategist, said, This is such a dumb fight because there's no principle that we're standing on here. It's just bad tactics. While the dispute is nominally over excessive government spending, with Republican dissenters pushing for funding to be reduced back to 2022 levels, the underlying problem is, of course, the level of discord within the Republican Party. McCarthy was voted in as House Speaker after a record 15 attempts. The process took four days and frequently descended into a farce. This was only the second time in the post -Civil War era that a House Speaker had failed to be elected on the first attempt. Conant noted the terrible optics of a government shutdown of the Republicans' own making heading into election season, stating that, quote, Biden didn't win because of his political skills and soaring oratory. He won because Republicans blew themselves up with Trump. I'm afraid we're seeing history repeat itself, with the GOP once again helping Biden by shooting themselves in the foot. Of course, never one to shy away from controversy, Trump fanned the flames on Wednesday, posting that, quote, Republicans in Congress can and must defund all aspects of Crooked Joe Biden's weaponized government that refuses to close the border and treats half the country as enemies of the state. He added that, quote, This is also the last chance to defund these political prosecutions against me and other patriots. They failed on the debt limit they must not fail now. Use the power of the person to defend the country. Now, zooming out and trying to get away from the politics of the situation, which obviously is not the focus of this show. The reason that this was brought up at last week's FOMC press conference is that a government shutdown would halt the publication of government data. This would include employment, inflation and growth statistics, which are currently playing a key role in guiding Fed policy. Now, given how much the Fed has said over and over again, their policy is going to be driven by data, presumably not having access to that data would be a fairly big deal. Yet in spite of that, Powell tried to put on a brave face, saying, If there is a government shutdown and it lasts through the next meeting, then it's possible we wouldn't be getting some of the data that we would ordinarily get and we would just have to deal with that. Now, by way of some history, the longest ever government shutdown lasted 35 days. The dispute was around funding for the border wall and quickly turned public sentiment against the Trump administration. Republicans controlled both the House and the Senate, but the administration failed to convince their own party to fund the wall. At the time, Democrat Senator Jon Tester called it the most stupid shutdown I have ever seen in my life. However, if this week's display is anything to go by, that 2019 shutdown could soon have some competition for that title. Now, what does this all have to do with the crypto sphere? Well, I think in many ways these are just exemplary of the state of politics in general. And given that, perhaps it's not surprising that former Senator Pat Toomey is not optimistic about the chances of crypto legislation being passed during this Congress. Just prior to retiring from Congress at the beginning of the year, Toomey introduced his own crypto bill, which focused on stablecoin regulations. Now, the House currently has two major crypto bills eligible to be brought for a vote. One would establish a stablecoin framework while the other introduces more broad crypto regulations. While speaking at a Georgetown Law Seminar on Thursday, however, Toomey said, I don't see a path forward in the Senate regardless of how the vote goes in the House. He added that of the two, he sees the stablecoin legislation as having the best shot. The sticking point will likely be Senate Banking Committee Chairman Sherrod Brown. While Brown has been outspoken about the risks of crypto and the need to bring the industry to heel, he has so far remained extremely quiet on exactly what form of legislation would meet his approval. And of course, any crypto legislation would need the support of Democratic senators to pass a vote to become law. Still, during an interview on Thursday, Coinbase Chief Policy Officer Faryar Shirzad said that she thinks that Brown's lack of commitment to a legislative position might actually be a good thing. Shirzad said, Now, last week, Brown wrote a letter to head regulators at multiple agencies urging them to use their existing powers to crack down on non -compliant crypto firms. This of course seems to be the clear intention, at least at the SEC. On Tuesday, the head of that agency's crypto assets and cyber unit, David Hirsch, warned that more enforcement actions would be coming against crypto intermediaries, including DeFi protocols. Still, Toomey, who serves now as an advisor to Coinbase, views stablecoin legislation as the solvable problem. At the moment, Democrats are pushing for the Fed to serve a central role in regulating issuers rather than granting oversight power to state regulators. This preference is believed to be driven by the White House. Toomey said, He thinks that senior Democrats will get on board once the White House is satisfied with the stablecoin proposal. Although that proposal might have to wait until after the election, as Toomey said in the next Congress, I think it's quite possible to get something done.

A highlight from Growing Unease: Current Administrations Approach to Security and Travel with David Bellavia
"What do you think they're doing with cash, right? What deal do you make where someone says, I'll bring a box of money to you? Yeah. What do you, it's, this is a state sponsor of terrorism. Ladies and gentlemen, distinguished guests and my fellow citizens. America's comeback now. starts right Welcome back Financial Guys podcast. Mike Speraza in studio live today with a guest in the studio. I haven't had this in a long time. Staff Sergeant medal of honor recipient David Bellavia joining me for about a half hour today. David, thank you for joining us. Thank you for having me. I appreciate it. Absolutely. So I'm going to stick based on your background. I'm going to stick with a lot of military stuff today and I want to start, we'll go all the way back to the beginning of the Joe Biden presidency. The Afghanistan withdrawal, in my opinion, did not go very smoothly. I'm sure many people listening agree. What were your overall thoughts of that withdrawal and how it actually ended up happening? I know we lost, you know, sadly lost 13 soldiers in that, in that withdrawal. People say we went off the wrong air base. People say that we shouldn't have gone out in the middle of the summer. There was a lot of different things there. What were your overall thoughts on that? I think it's like the worst day in American history since Market Garden. Just absolutely. And the reason why it was so difficult was it was totally unnecessary. So let's rewind to the Obama trade, Bull Bergdahl and the three first round draft picks. They get Marshall, they get MacArthur and they get Patton that end up the resurgence of the Taliban. These men not just go back to the enemy, they go back to the battlefield. They're in power when the government falls. You have misinformation coming from the White House that the president of Afghanistan is leaving with billions of dollars on his plane, which wasn't true. And then you leave the equipment, the cash. There's no recovery. We're getting reports of sales of American equipment left in Afghanistan in Southeast Asia. We're moving material across the globe. Our children will fight and pay and have to atone for these miscalculations. Let's talk about that. You being in the military and you knowing that area too, why did they just find it the easiest way out to just say, you know, just leave that billion dollar billions of dollars of equipment there and not think, again, if it was me and I'm speaking that someone that's never been in the military, but if it's me and I'm the president, I'm thinking, OK, I don't want to leave all our weaponry there. I don't want to lose any of my men. Number two. And number three, I want to make sure that everybody knows when and how we're getting out of there. And it just felt like poof. One day they said we're getting out of here. Well, it's because the military didn't make any of those decisions. I mean, look, Millie, it can criticize him. You can criticize Secretary of Defense worthy of criticism. However, none of these individuals are making decisions. This is about NGOs on the ground. This is about the State Department. So you've got Bagram Air Base, the equivalent of JFK. You've got Karzai International Airport, the equivalent of Teterboro. Right. Why would you ever do an exfil out of Karzai International Airport? It makes absolutely no sense. It's tactically unsound. But and then you've got all the ISIS -K. We retaliate from the murder of 13 of our bravest and we drop a bomb on a guy delivering water. He's on our payroll and we kill children on that. Then we take out Borat on a tuk tuk driving around like that wasn't even really what was happening. It's just a den of lies. And Tony Blinken and Jake Sullivan, all the heroes that brought us, you know, the Bergdahl deal, the Iran nuke deal. This is these. They the State Department is running all foreign policy, including what the DOD used to run. Well, that's I was going to say. I mean, I know Biden's the president, but do you blame him at all or is it everybody underneath him that, you know, maybe was giving him bad information? And again, some of these decisions, David, is Biden even involved in some of these decisions? Like, I don't even know anymore. Is he around? Is he paying attention to anything going on? Well, I mean, just from the press conferences, it was apparent he didn't know what was going on. And the great irony is that they actually were predicting that Ukraine was going to be invaded and, you know, no one believed them. So it's like you can't influence your friends. The allies don't trust you. The enemy doesn't respect you. You know, I mean, you've got Ben Rhodes is really proud of this State Department. Susan Rice loves what they're doing. But, you know, again, Americans died. And, you know, and what is the perfect culmination of the adventure in Afghanistan? Looking at your watch at Dover Air Base when bodies are coming home. I mean, nothing could you couldn't ask for a just it's it's a debacle. Yeah. And it's sad that that's that's the leader of our country there. Let's move in. You brought up the Ukraine there. So the Russia Ukraine conflict will get to Zelensky in a minute. He is as we speak in New York City right now. But so Trump's in office. We don't see many of these conflicts or any conflicts actually started under his watch. And then we have the Biden administration come in. And a year later, we have Russia invading Ukraine. Why did this happen and why? Why the timing of February of 2022? So let's go back to when we were fighting ISIS. Trump engaged and destroyed estimated some say 300 members of Wagner forces. But those were Russian nationals. We engaged. We destroyed them. What was the response from Putin? Nothing at all. So what do people in that section of the world, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, what do they respect? They respect power. They respect authority. You're not going to get any respect if you don't engage the enemy when they present themselves. I don't understand the calculus of again, I'm trying hard to figure it out. I don't get it. I don't. You know, Romania and Hungary and Poland, you're letting them unilaterally decide whether or not they want to send reinforcements into Ukraine. That's an act of war. If NATO members engage the enemy, all of NATO is engaged against the enemy. Poland doesn't unilaterally make that decision. Hungary and Romania don't unilaterally make that decision. We can't even articulate what the mission is. And if you look, go to the Institute for the Study of War, there's a plug for them. Check out their overlay from when the battle started, when the war started with Russia. And tell me what success this offensive in Ukraine has produced. I mean, let me ask this question, because I get confused. The answer is nothing. I asked this on Twitter, X, whatever it's called, all the time. What is the end game and how do we get there? Because all I see the answer is, hey, just blank checks. Hey, just write a check. Hey, here's a billion. Hey, here's 20 billion. Hey, here's another 10 billion. I don't actually see a look. I mean, like anything, right? If I write a business plan of what I want to do in 2024, my goal is X. I write down my steps to get X. I don't just write down X and say it's going to happen. I don't really know. And then the answer always is, well, we have to fight. We have to back Ukraine. Okay. But when does that end? Because the Afghanistan war and the war in Iraq lasted 20 years plus, right? And was there a real end to it? I don't know. That's where it gets frustrating for me, Dave, where I'm like, how do we know what the end game is? Do you win or lose? When does that happen? I don't know. I don't know. At least you're thinking about it. And I have fear that our leaders aren't, and that's the problem. So here's what this comes out. You're going to get a negotiated settlement out of Ukraine, right? But you talked about the billions of dollars that we're spending and giving to Ukraine as a blank check. First of all, Zelensky visited Ukrainian soldiers in the United States. Did you know that there were wounded Ukrainian soldiers in the United States? I did not know that. Well, today he visited them. So what's happening there? So that's a cost that no one is putting on the ledger. So now let's look at the blank check that Ukraine is getting. And by the way, I'm pro Ukraine. I want to fight communists all day and night. So let's punch Putin hard in the face. However, you're giving them a blank check and you're giving them munitions. Now here's the problem. We have to replace those munitions. Those munitions were purchased for 20 year global war and terror. And let's be honest, inflation is involved. So what you purchased for $10 is now $17. So you're not just giving them the money. You're giving them the equipment and the munitions that you have to replace yourself at the value of what is valued today. We haven't scratched the surface for the amount of money. CBO absent at the wheel. No one is tracking this. 2024 can't get here fast enough. How does this work, though, when you talk about some of these NATO nations coming together and making decisions, but us not just giving weaponry, giving everything money, whatever we're giving there? Is that not an act of war, too, though, David, at some point? We're continuing to fund Ukraine continuing the war in Ukraine. I mean, that to me seems like we're backing a war. Well, I mean, by the letter of the law and NATO charter, it's not. But here's the problem. It's schizophrenic because we were told that what was an offensive weapon was going to mitigate, you know, that wasn't going to help peace at all. So we went from, I don't know if they should get tracked vehicles to I'm not sure an artillery piece is what they need to high Mars rockets being launched. And let's be honest. I mean, the Ukrainians are I mean, the payload that they're going through, what you would have to have cataclysmic casualty numbers to be able to to the spandex that they're doing on the ground that they need to replace Patriot. If you're going through thirty five Patriot to, you know, missiles, I would expect to at least the C 20 makes that are shot down. They're using them for air artillery. They're using there for indirect fire. I don't know what they're doing, but this is going to end with Don Boss going to Russia. This is going to end with that land chain that Putin wanted through Crimea. And again, our friends in NATO, what are they even doing for Ukraine? What? Look, if you they said that Trump wanted to kill NATO, Biden did it. Right. Biden did it. And now Germany. And so Putin was selling oil at thirty dollars a barrel. What's it at ninety six? Yeah. He's making more money than he did before. And he's financing a war and killing innocent people. You mentioned before, too, and I think this is a good point. Everybody on the left and I'll say the media, the establishment, whoever you want to say, says that if you don't agree with the war in Ukraine, you're like pro Putin. Right. And that's just the most outrageous thing in the world, because I agree with you. I feel for the people of Ukraine. I don't want this for them. I don't want this for innocent people. However, at some point, the world's every every one of the world's problems can't be America's problem when we have a border crisis. And then I think they said yesterday ten thousand people came across. They got, I think, eight thousand of the ten thousand. But you see the numbers day over day. It's a problem. We have crime that's rampant. We have overdoses that are at record numbers. We have we have suicides at record numbers. At some point, we have to maybe just think about ourselves and not everybody else, because if we fall, sadly, I think the world falls at that point. Amen. The thing that I would add is I love the way the Ukraine refugee has been crowbarred into the migrant crisis in the United States. New York leaders from the city to all over Kathy Hochul, the governor of the state of New York, mentioning that, you know, like the Ukrainians in Poland, the the Polish have no intention to keep Ukrainians forever. That's a temporary you know, they're leaving a conflict to return to their country after the conflict is over. Again, this is just we're we're putting a round peg into a square hole and just hammering it away. But but there's no the media. There's you're our destroying military. I go to parents all the time around this country and ask them to give us their sons and daughters to join the military. And the one thing they bring up is Afghanistan. It's not about anything. It's Afghanistan. How are you going to assure us that you're going to maintain your commitment to our son and daughter when you betrayed us in Afghanistan that has lasting effects? And there's not a I'm trying to find a segment of our of our of our nation that's functioning. I don't know what it is. I saw in Chicago, they're going to have municipally owned grocery stores. Maybe that will figure it out there. Yeah, yeah, it's good. Real quick, do you think and we'll finish up on this topic, but do you think that they will we will ever have boots in the ground on Ukraine? I mean, I hope not, because I just don't know what the I mean, look at I'm I'm we're getting ready for China. We're trying to revolutionize everything. I don't know what the what the plan is. I mean, again, if you want to put a base in Ukraine, and you want to make that a sustainment operation going forward, that I here's the point. I don't understand what the inactive ready reserve call up was for. Why are you bringing those troops in the non combat support? Why are they going to Ukraine? What are you building infrastructure there? Here's what I do know. We're talking a minimum of $11 trillion to build Ukraine back. That is cataclysmic amounts of money. There isn't water, electricity, internet, you know, you want to help Ukraine. You're going to Russia is not paying for that if you negotiate a settlement. So I don't know what the plan is. But I hope we never see boots on the ground. I could guess what the plan is. I won't I won't say for sure. But I could guess that we'll be paying a chunk of that. And I do have one last one. So I did interview Colonel Douglas McGregor a few months back. And he talked about he's a real optimist. But he is really very, very bullish on Ukraine. Yes, very, very optimistic. I'm dropping some all over the place. But he brought up some staggering numbers, though. And even if they're half true, it's a problem. The amount of casualties and wounded soldiers on the Ukrainian side that we're not hearing about the media. I don't know if you agree with some of those numbers or not. But he's saying, I mean, it's people are acting as if this is an even war right now. And it's not even close. First of all, McGregor's a stud. I mean, he's an absolute, you know, that we're glad he's on our side. He's a military mind. I don't know if those numbers are accurate. I could tell you they're juxtaposed to almost everything we're hearing from every institution that we have, including a lot of our intel from Germany and England. But again, I don't know what to believe. So when you don't have when you don't have transparency, when you're not holding regular press conferences, when your Pentagon spokesman is now working in the White House and now you're getting a triple spin. I mean, the U .S. Open double backspin. You've gotten so many spins on the narrative. I don't know what to believe. But if he is even close to what is a segment of truth, you know, then look, Ukraine needs an investigation. There's a lot of investigations. We've got to start on Afghanistan. We were promised that by Speaker McCarthy. We need a hot wash on Afghanistan. And then we need to go to what who is oversighting the money that's going to Ukraine. And what have we got for our return on investment? Yeah, I'm not asking for much. Really, all I'm asking for in this conflict is can we just talk about what the end game is? And to your point, can we get an accounting of where the money's going and what's being spent in a real accounting of it? The Iran deal that just happened last week. First off, the fact that that was negotiated and completed on 11th September to me is just the ultimate slap in the face. But you again, you know more about this than I do. We do a five for five trade. OK, I'm going to use sports analogies. We trade five for five. And then we also approved of six billion dollars that apparently wasn't ours, but it was in a fund that now they can release to Iran. How are we winning on that one? Well, first of all, I was hoping that at least it was a digital transfer. The fact that it went as euros in cash through Qatar. And OK, so what happens the 24 hours after that deal is made? We're now getting issues in the West Bank. We're now hearing about issues in Yemen. We've now got Hezbollah that's reinforced. I mean, look, what do you think they're doing with cash? Right. What deal do you make where someone says, I'll bring a box of money to you? What do you it's this is a state sponsor of terrorism. They haven't changed. By the way, their president is now in New York City addressing the United Nations. This guy's killed 6500 of his own people. He admits to it. He killed the students that revolted and wanted democracy when we did nothing. He killed 5000 of his citizens in 1988. He's killed over 300 Americans. There's no accountability whatsoever. I don't understand what it is about Jake Sullivan and Tony Blinken that believe that Iran is a partner. All you've done 10 years ago, they were refining 10 percent of their oil. And now they're a force. Now they're working with Maduro in Venezuela, and they're a huge part of their members of of the international community. They're in good standing there. I don't get it. Does anyone believe that the Iran nuke deal? Look, we got hit with cruise missiles under Trump in Iraq. How did they have those cruise missiles? Those cruise missiles were illegal under the Obama nuke deal. So how are you refurbishing missiles in two years? Do we believe that their centrifuges have stopped? That they won't have a program if they don't have one already? No, I mean, I guess my question, David, is how I mean, I know that you pay a lot of attention to this stuff, but how do people like in the media not ask these questions? Right. I mean, these are legitimate. I mean, we just traded to I put this on my notes here. This is on the heels of trading a WNBA basketball player for the Merchant of Death like six months ago. Right. I mean, and again, I'm glad Americans are coming back to America. I don't want to sound pessimistic on that. That's great news. But we also I mean, this this stuff just seems like I don't care what side of the aisle you're on. It warrants questions, but nobody seems to care. I'm in the world that if you take hostages, we take hostages. You want to exchange people? We'll exchange people. You know, we definitely have the partners in the area to do that. For whatever reason, this administration, they're they're they're contrarians. They're contrarians to you know, they claim Bush and Cheney are their best friends, yet they just go 180 degrees from that doctrine. I don't know what the Biden doctrine is. I don't know what Bidenonomics is either, but I could tell you that they believe that Iran is a partner. Now, here's another thing. Our envoy to Iran not only is no longer the envoy, he doesn't have a security clearance. Does anyone curious at The New York Times as to what happened to the lead negotiator in Iran that is escorted off a bus, taken into American custody, given a job at Yale or Princeton or wherever he's working now? I've never heard of a person going from top secret classified negotiations to no clearance whatsoever and in the custody of American intelligence community. No one cares. No one cares at all. It's fascinating. And again, for me, I mean, these are big decisions that we're making. And correct me if I'm wrong, but it used to be, you know, maybe we did a two for five deal and then we made the six billion. Now we're like, we're giving stuff away and we're on the losing end. Correct me if I'm wrong, but America was never, you know, America losing. It was always America winning, right? America getting the best of deals. At least McDonald's has a five for five. We didn't even get that. You know what this does though? Honest to God, if you're thinking about traveling overseas, things go sideways, cartel, South America, Mexico, wherever you're going, you have a price in your head now. No one in their right mind is going to bring you back whether it's Haiti or wherever you are, you're worth $1 .25 billion. And thugs and scumbags are going to take advantage of that. I mean, that's a great point too. Do you think about leaving the country? I don't know anymore. That's a little bit concerning. I don't care where you're going, right? That's concerning. This one I just had to bring up because it happened two days ago or yesterday. How do we lose a plane? And I heard that's like a third one in the last six weeks that something like this has happened. How are we losing $80 million planes? Well, they're not $80 million anymore because they've got a new engine and all this other stuff. Look, the F -35 program is a complete disaster. You want to talk about why our allies think we're crazy. We sold them a plane. This program has been around since the early 90s and we've got nothing on return for it. So basically two planes are flying in a buddy team. They're doing training and a guy punches out. We don't even know why he punched out, but that plane could have easily hit a building. It didn't, thank God. But the wingman didn't follow where his buddy went. So what is he doing? He just kind of went on and did his own thing. And now the Marine Corps put a Facebook post like a dog is missing. We're expecting the Ukrainian farmers to carry the F -35 out with their tractors. I don't know what the point of it's wild. Look, stop embarrassing us. Just stop humiliating us. That's all I'm asking. Just be the army and the Marine Corps that we know our men and women are capable of being. Get out of their way. This gender garbage, this social experiment nonsense, stop humiliating our military. That's all I ask. Why can we not get the... I mean, I know why we can't get the answer, but I'm asking this to you. But why can't we, at a press conference at the White House, why can't we say, I want to talk to the guy that was in the other plane, or you can tell us the transcript of what happened when that happened. Talk to the guy who jumped out of the plane. Why did you do that? And again, I'm not trying to put our military on the spot, but these are kind of big questions to ask, right? I mean, if I do something in my business, I have to go face the music on that. Why doesn't everybody have to face music for their decisions or why things are happening? I think it's kind of important. Well, you don't want to talk to generals because they're going to tell you the truth and they won't be generals anymore. True. And you don't want to talk to enlisted people. Because look, I mean, let's be honest. How many people are... Is this a merit -based military anymore? Do we have a meritocracy? Are we promoting people based on pronouns? Go figure. When we're putting politics above military strength, accidents happen. We don't know the facts, but the fact that nobody cares about getting to the bottom of it, the day of the Pentagon paper reporters are gone. Yep. Yep. Let's just talk about the 2024 race quick, and then we will wrap up for today. So your thoughts on the Republican primary so far, I'll stay away from the Democratic side till the very end, but your thoughts on, you know, there's obviously Trump who is now in a, has a huge lead. Ron DeSantis seems to be crumbling underneath himself. Vivek Ramaswamy has jumped up in the polls. Nikki Haley's there. Tim Scott's there. A few others that probably aren't going to get a lot of votes. Chris Christie's the anti -Trump candidate. Mike Pence is, I don't know what Mike Pence is. I'm not really sure. Your thoughts about the whole field so far? I mean, look, it's impressive. They've got a deep bench. There's a lot of diversity. I, you know, none of it matters. Trump is the guy. The more you indict him, the more you empower him. You know, I'd like him to work on his communications a little bit better. You know, but if Trump is Trump, Trump is a Frankenstein monster of Barack Obama. As long as you have that faction, you're going to get, you know, Trump is going to be empowered. I just don't want to see Governor Noem anywhere near the White House. And I, if he's going to pick a running mate, you know, it's hard to find an ally here, you know. But it would be nice to find a governor. I don't want to take anyone from the Senate. I don't want to take anyone from the House with the margins that tight. But I mean, the idea that Governor Noem is being floated right now. I mean, I'd rather take North Dakota. Yeah. A little sled there. You know, it's funny you mentioned that because I saw a lot of that this weekend. I mean, can we just, for lack of a better term, keep it in our pants for about a year and then do what you got to do? It really is. I mean, every time you turn, somebody's doing something idiotic, whether it's Boebert. And again, I say this, David, a lot of people know who you are. A lot more know who you are than they'll ever know who I am. But when you go out in public into a movie theater like that, and I'm going to Boebert, not Noem for a second, you're, you're extremely well known. I don't care if it's dark or if it's as light as it is in the studio right now. What are you thinking? I, you know, she's, she's, she's an embarrassment. She is. She's bad, too. Who would have thought that Marjorie Taylor Greene would have been the, the oasis of the Maryland? I mean, seriously, I, again, you're, you're in Congress every day. You're out in public, you're on the job. You know, at least she wasn't wearing a hoodie, you know, that's all in shorts. She was at least dressed for the occasion, but I, it was, it's wildly embarrassing. Vaping, singing, whatever you're doing. Getting groped. Yes. Who is your VP candidate then? Because I think, you know, you have names thrown around. There's, there's, the vague has been thrown around in there. You know, Byron Donald's has been thrown around in there. Carrie Lake has. I don't know. I love Carrie Lake. I just don't know that Trump needs to go with somebody so divisive there. I think he's got to go with somebody that's, that's firm in their beliefs, but also not maybe going to turn off half the country. Well, you know, it's, it's impossible. One of the, one of the problems with making Trump, you know, the, the enemy of the state that the left has done is that you've really made it difficult for him to even put a cabinet together. You know, I mean, what are you going to do with it? You've got a lot of loyalists out there. You know, the vague is, is I think maybe the most intelligent dynamic candidate we've ever seen run for president, but experience does matter. But you know, I love the way he thinks. I love the movement. I don't know if he would even take the job to be honest with it. I don't think he needs it. But you look at a Tim Scott, I think Tim Scott is, you know, there's a whole lot to his message and I think he's, he's got the experience in the Senate, but honestly, you could literally take the Clint Eastwood chair and, and throw it in there as vice president. I'm going with that because this, this from top to bottom, we have to have seismic change in 24. Do you think he would ever choose Kristi Noem at this point with all that now? Yeah, no one knew Mike Pence was a, was a 24 hour story and then he was the vice president candidate. So who knows? I mean, a lot can happen between now and then, but I just, I don't need, you know, let's just pick people on their merit. Let's pick people that are ready to be the president. Imagine this, imagine picking a vice president that can lead the country. If something happens to a 75 year old president, you know, like Kamala Harris. Yeah. Someone like that.

Libby Emmons Exposes Biden's Interference in 2024 Election
"Libby Emmons, welcome to the show, editor -in -chief of The Post Millennial. Thanks Andrew. Thanks for having me on. Of course. So Libby, you and I were texting back and forth earlier this morning about some of the logical, I guess what would you say, the breaks in the logic of the left and their assault on President Trump, trying to get Trump at all costs it seems. They're even willing to risk this boomerang of a live televised trial in Fulton County. They don't seem to care, but their logic is flawed. And you exposed something and I thought it was fantastic. I wanted you to come on and explain it to our audience. What do they have on Trump that they don't also have on Biden? Can you break this down for our audience? Yeah, so this is something that I found remarkably interesting as we came to the indictments and all of this. In 2019, when Trump was impeached by the US House of Representatives, one of the things that he was impeached for in December 2019 was for election interference in the 2020 presidential election. You remember that Biden announced in 2019 in April that he was going to be running for president and then we had, you know, Trump was the president. He was also running for reelection. And in 2019, you had the US House accusing Trump of election interference into an election that had not happened yet. And their reasoning was because he had made a phone call to President Zelensky of Ukraine inquiring as to Biden's involvement in the firing of a prosecutor called Viktor Shokin. So if I can just read from the impeachment. Yeah, so they said that Trump interfered in the 2020 election. Of course, this was months and months prior to the election, saying he did so through a scheme or course of conduct that included soliciting the government of Ukraine to publicly announce investigations that would benefit Trump's reelection, harm the election prospects of a political opponent, namely Joe Biden, and influence the 2020 United States presidential election to his advantage. So the US House determined that Trump interfered in an election that had not happened yet because he asked for an investigation into Biden's activities in Ukraine with the firing of this prosecutor, which has its own entire backstory. However, Joe Biden, his Department of Justice, is currently prosecuting a political opponent of his. So how is that not election interference?

The Charlie Kirk Show
Impeachment Time? With Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene
"Further ado, we have the wonderful Marjorie Taylor Greene joining us. Congresswoman, welcome to The Charlie Kirk Show. Hi, thanks so much for having me on today. Yeah, honored to be with you. I love this. So you made a promise at this town hall event. You said, I will not vote to fund the government if Congress doesn't do this. And the following are impeachment inquiry, vote on Joe Biden to fund Biden's weaponization of government, eliminate all COVID vaccines and mandates and no funding for the war in Ukraine. I this this tweet has gotten great traction. This video has gotten great traction. I think there was Republicans and conservatives all across the fruited plain saying yes. Hallelujah. Amen. Do something fight Republicans fight. Tell us what what's behind this? What are your aims and goals? And do you think this can actually gain traction with the rest of the caucus? Well, I certainly hope so. And if if every if anyone remembers Andrew, I told everyone that I was holding my fight into appropriations, because that's where it belongs. Appropriations is where we truly have power in Congress. We have the power of the purse strings, not controlling the Senate. The Democrats control the Senate. The Democrats control the White House. The only place we really have power to make change is how we spend the money. And a lot of people have been wanting me to get engaged in battles throughout this year that I didn't think were worth fighting. But now it's time to to really dig in and enforce changes that need to be made. We only have two weeks in September. We go back in Congress, September 12th, and we have two weeks to pass 11 appropriation bills. We've already passed one. We have to pass 11 before September 30th and September 30th. The government shuts down. Now, that doesn't sound like a big deal to especially most Americans, because pretty much everyone I know is like, who cares if the government shuts down? But it's actually our constitutional duty as members in the House of Representatives. It's our job to fund the government. So that's why it's important to us. Now, here's what happens if we're not able to pass those 11 appropriation bills by September 30th, we're looking at having to vote on a short -term continued resolution. That would fund the government. It would continue funding the government with all the same rules and spending policy and spending amounts that Nancy Pelosi put in line and passed before we took the majority. And so this is a place where I really think it's something we have to stand up to. And I made a promise to my constituents. I made a promise publicly. I will not ever fund money for Ukraine. So I will not vote for that. I will not fund the continuation of the weaponized government.

People Should Demand Immediate Action to Stop Anti-Trump Interference
"American people have the right to a debate. American people have the right to know what Trump, what DeSantis, whomever else may make it on the stage, what they're going to do for us. We shouldn't have to worry about this right now. Trump deserves the right to run for presidency, uninterfered. And that's exactly what the left is doing. They're trying to take him out before you can vote for him. That is just wrong. That is anti -American. But we don't have to wait. We don't have to wait. Here's what Gaetz said. The House of Representatives needs to take action to defund the special counsel investigation immediately. We do not need to wait. Ding, ding, ding for the appropriations process. We don't have to wait for the Holman rule or some rider, he says. They are attacking our democracy and engaging in election interference right now. And if the US Congress does not have the capability to stop the election interference, then what is all the flowery oratory about preserving the republic? We have to operationalize that. I totally agree. I hope that Matt Gaetz was on board with Marjorie Taylor Greene because, frankly, she should get the credit for the idea. She thought of it a month ago. He's coming out with it now. I just want to make that clear. I love Matt Gaetz, but I'm going to give credit where credit is due because she obviously brought it up first.

She gets one of the IRS investigating investigators Hunter Biden on the record and asked a very simple question. First, he whips out pun intended a picture. You'll understand why in a second of Hunter Biden. And let's just say an assistant doing some assistant. Now what they're doing is not dictation. Although in the podcast earlier chat room, someone said to me, Dan, in some other cosmos, this may be considered dictation, um, the dicks dating of or something. What, what, Jim, we can said, say we're dictating the dating of dicks. What's the problem? That's not a, even Giesler. He never laughs. You that's a dictation, which is, well, of course, we're allowed to say that. Do you would have dubbed that they do. It's okay. Good. So in some, I'm just saying in another way, it's maybe considered dictation. So she, she, she asks a question about these expenses. Let's call them business expenses. And then she takes out a picture of Hunter Biden with someone is assisted. Let's just say, I'm doing some assisting. Take a listen this to one last one last question. You referred to one of the assistants as West assistant. Coast I believe this is the West Coast assistant. Could you agree with that? Trump in Court: Go Fast or Take It Slow? With Kash Patel
"So, Cash, tomorrow, Donald Trump will be arraigned. What is the timeline here? What are you thinking? Is it is it should Donald Trump really push for a quicker trial? Should he try to stretch this out? What are your thoughts? I mean, politically, I think he may want to. Get this thing wrapped up and shown that it's a fraud as early as possible, but in order to do that, he's going to have to file some extensive pretrial motions, not just to dismiss. You can't go to the dismissal right away. You have to build a case for the causes of corruption that are built in. And I did an exclusive about Karen Gilbert, the deputy special counsel, who I actually tried cases against in the Southern District of Florida, who is the Weissman of this case, who was caught by a judge unlawfully wiretapping a defense attorney's recorded conversations during a prosecution and was throttled by the district court. Go to the Ollie Shagan case. She's running this disaster. She's the reason the case went to Miami. I think they need to challenge that. I need to challenge the Jay Brat allegation that he dangled a judgeship in front of a lawyer for a co -defendant. And I think they need to look at all of Jack Smith's underlying activities and they need to challenge the breaking of attorney -client privilege under the crime -fraud exception where Donald Trump is shown to have been discussing options with his attorney. And if that's the case and that's allowed to stand, then no more counsel can ever consult with their clients and tell them what their options are, yes or no. And

It's unfortunately the same people at DOJ and FBI that ran Russiagate and Jan six and are running the Hunter Biden laptop investigation. All the people in leadership positions, DOJ, Garland, Ray, and you want to know something about Chris Ray. Ray is the one who signed off on Sammy Berger, who actually stole classified information and shoved in his pants. Ray is the one who signed off on charging that guy with a misdemeanor at the time Chris Ray was head of the criminal division at DOJ. That's what the book is all about. Kash Patel Exposes DOJ's 'Sham Prosecution' of Donald Trump
"Joining us now is Kash Patel. Kash, welcome to the program. Hey, thanks so much for having me back. Lots to discuss, Kash. I have the indictment here, Kash. Top line thoughts. What are we looking at here? Donald Trump will be arraigned tomorrow in Miami, Florida. And then I want to go through some of the details of the indictment. Kash Patel. Yeah, look, from the standpoint of a former national security prosecutor and public defender, I think what his team needs to do is, after the arraignment, move quickly to pretrial motions, because I think this case needs to be adjudicated before it hits a jury, and this is why. The legal inconsistencies in the indictment itself by the DOJ show you their sham prosecution. For two years, they told you how Donald Trump ran around and stole and hid and burned classified information. And then when push came to shove and they went to a grand jury and they said, we are going to show the world that Donald Trump illegally possessed classified information, you know what they did? They didn't charge him with it. They reached back to a statute under the Espionage Act, the National Defense Information Part, which is one hundred and five years old, which we use to charge sailors and things like that, and said, Donald Trump somehow possessed information he shouldn't have. And we think he was grossly negligent. And we'll get to Hillary later. And we're going to we want you to prosecute him. But in the entire indictment, they talk about how he's waving around classified information. They both can't be true.

Taylor Greene submit impeachment articles against D.C. U.S. attorney Julie. Welcome back to the program. Tell us about this story. So the House oversight committee just wrapped up its hearing about crime problems in Washington, D.C.. One of the witnesses was Matthew graves, the D.C. U.S. attorney, who is handling all of the January 6th criminal prosecutions, a caseload that is now over a thousand defendants, and he has promised to charge a thousand more before he's all done. At the same time, Charlie, as you know, Washington, D.C. has descended into violent chaos and there are reports crime data that indicates Matthew graves while he fixates on a four hour disturbance more than 28 months ago, has declined to prosecute almost two thirds of the cases that are brought to him by local D.C. police. And this includes violent repeat offenders who Matthew graves refuses to prosecute for one reason or the other as he, all of his resources basically are monopolized by prosecuting investigating charging and trying January 6th protesters.

God forbid something happens okay so then. This could also apply in home environment right. People might have their banking whatever. Okay so routine maintenance check do it. Okay number two good or bad idea matt. Backup your data locally or on the cloud or both good or bad idea both okay. What's that all about. Explain to so you have to assume that one method may not be the ideal situation for example momentum. Saying let's say you can't go on the internet high. You sit there and get your formation because the cloud or the internet. How'd your information or let's say the back of drive you're using goes bad or the software broke on the dry with you know that runs it and you can't get your your backup through. The back of his trump. Did so that that does happen. Where do you go then what you do. So why having something locally or not. They had this energy to be able to get things done so for them understanding where their time goes is incredibly important for other leaders. Who have this issue of time especially if it involves having to tell other people what to do or working through other people. I liked to cultivate their self awareness around their own leadership style around their own Readership gaps and around their leadership strengths. So it's really about helping them understand. How are they showing up. How might they be perceived right and how can they leverage that. In order to make better use of their time in the resources they have so. That's that's really that first. Step cultivating yourself awareness around. Where's your time going and cultivating awareness around. How do you show up. What are your strengths and weaknesses. And how can you make sure you capture what your strengths are. And what. You're actually doing. Check through mail five minutes. How many emails. You're going to get in five minutes. You get rating flick. A critically important one is a contract or something. Yeah but check your email is could you define it as a work related tasks. Yes but is it. Productive is it revenue generating. is it. something that's driving you toward larger goal. So that's an excellent point And i think a lot of this is an extra as i do. I mentioned i wrote a book. I think i did. Yeah now the people who my podcast know this. i've listened. one of my big tenants in this book is exactly what time inventory even if it's three or four hours. You'd be amazed. And i'm sure you've seen this new one hundred case studies. How much time you really don't use productively eight hour day if you're not purple. That's where is purposeful use of time. There are thing you brought up that that is really important. I think is is how when you're in a leadership role and this is really more the entrepreneur side and say the students but maybe parents is how people perceive what you're trying to put out there so if i'm in a management role or i'm parents to make it look go to your homework and they're like well i'll do it later. You know the it's really important to clearly set parameters for us. That's a little stiffer parentis eight. Okay look i need your home gym seven thirty and some fifty But this is all. I use the word what you're using different vocabulary. I usually word. Structure.

Maybe they're feeling sad. You search taken on the taken that energy so another success would be able to be to have the capacity to be around people that are struggling and not have it affect your own emotional state. You're able to be strong. You're able to be studying. You're able to hold space for that. So an example of what you just shared is that kid. That's like i don't want to. I don't wanna do my homework. And the parents are going back and forth rate. The parents a success for the parent would be able to be strong steady in their grounded. Plays and hold space for their child's emotions around not wanting to do the homework but not taking it in frustration. Not not taking it on taking in or on that emotion of their child and then projecting it back at them which is often what happens. escalates and then bit carly meyers. You're you're definitely my person. That's the those are the types of people that i really really love work working with and i specialize in working with so long. Have you been involved in this. When when did stress lesko come together. Why did it come together. How did it come together. Where did it come together. The five ws h of stress less. What's what's the story here. Yeah so we actually started as a business about five years ago And i'm not gonna go into my whole story. I think we could go into past. Podcast episodes or passed a facebook lives as to why i started the company but the short of is short of it is that i was experiencing my own struggle and the mainstream approaches that we hear about all the time. therapy meditation yoga. Changing the diet hitting the gym right. All of those things. Were not working for me. And you know finally came to a boiling point where i was exploring exploring exploring and i finally figured out what worked for me and it was. There was no one-size-fits-all my biggest learning of of my life thus far and And yet at the same time we as humans need structure and so that's really where my seven subsystem ended up being born It was born out of that realization. That there's no one-size-fits-all and yet we still need some structure. We still need some guidelines guidance. To get where we want to go. She told us about the seven steps. At least as much as you want. Get into it And everybody worked through these the same jurors it as you said one size fits all right so maybe somebody one person needs step one..

We've been kinda shared. Podcast guesting and kate was one of my guests on the back to school workshop in september and we only live like three miles apart right something like that. We're not far from each other but this covid world you know. You're lucky if you can get to the supermarket and one piece but it's just like ron said you're contagious. Your suzy was great. i love. I love positively. You're helping so many people. I don't want us to be like a love fest but but what you're doing is really needed work and you know you know if it's the old saying you know if you love what you do you never work a day in your life and i've really get that feeling from you the you're just happy being with your tribe and surrounding yourself with like minded people and fuelled like you're bringing value and bringing being people to a better place when they show up to when they leave which is really what we in the education counselling support face. What more can we really ask for. I mean look we gotta make a living so we got to put a little bit of money on somewhere but this is the stuff you can't you can't price tag right for sure. Yeah it's awesome. Let me ask you one last question. Just totally off. you know. we're completely off script here. I mean we had a script anyway. You know i. "Them is a few things so for. Ddt groups that are group's the idea is that you learn better in a group setting than if this one setting where your your your thoughts and your ideas and your everyday stressors veer you off. The path of really learning odyssey new skill and so each week were abusing new skills. They're practicing them together whether it's in a game like way or an interactive way. It's really fun. Engaging creative and then they have homework to go practice that feel out in the world and so each week built on the nazis where they're coming back and say here's what i try. Here's what worker didn't work and they're any coaching and feedback from the group leaders under appears in that process. Was somebody come to your center weekly twice a week every day. What what is there a. I'm sure individuals to degree. But what's the typical protocal. Typical protocol is once a week individual. And then if indicated once a week group on top of that an is very individualized. There's some to you know come twice a week. Once for group wants individual there are some clients that are graduating out of individual treatment and they love staying connected to groups throughout the rest of high school. because it's such an important support as for them and there's some variations of that as you start to make progress. It's pulling back to me. The other week in our goal really is to work ourselves out of a job so at our senator. We believe that treatment doesn't have to be a long term thing. It's really help you gain the skills to be successful ineffective in your life and so that means helping you be as independent as possible when you're ready to do so so we're not trying to keep you for four five six years a typical and it's probably safe to nine months. I would say the you're you're dealing with this on. Am emotional were but you're not. It's not a tutoring center. a A place to worry about how you doing the test the next week..

"Having to deal with it is that accurate not necessarily not necessarily. So what happens is you're able to let go of the thing that's outside of your control and then you have all of this mental space all of this even sometimes physical space to focus on. What is within your control. So a great example would be In the context of you know at let's say admiral learning. I'm concerned about. I'm worried about the policy. Changes where my kids gonna be one to the other. Well i'm gonna let go of that. Because i don't have control over. Who's making those decisions. I don't know what they're gonna do. I have no control over that. But if i let go of that i can say what do i have control over. Life control over. You know the structure that i put in in my home like i just had you doctors stephen on my show. We talked about how important structure is for success for students rate. That is what i as a parent would have control over. I would begin. Implementing them with that new space. Hot in what i can do is it can create so much more peace. Because you're not powerless anymore. You can start. Taking action is created voice. A big concern hear from parents is little picture. We're going to do like i. I gotta i gotta work i gotta. Let's go larger picture. Is i got a kid his tenth grade eleventh grader. They have learnt half in the last year. What they should have learned normally. And i'm not pointing fingers but it's just been a reality. Are they going to be behind in school. Things like this interesting. So one of the conversations. Obviously you would have with somebody who work with. This is what this is to them is higher spiritual connection is to them how they can nurture it develop it and learn how to tap into it and i would just add just as a yacht here on that conversation often includes a healing of spiritual or religious trauma so a lot of us have gone through many of us should have gone through some tough situation our life where we we when we were younger. Maybe turned to spirituality. And we didn't get what we thought we were gonna get and so that conversation also usually has a healing process where we are able to let go of fear or resentment or anger towards whatever we used to believe. It doesn't have to be the same iteration but it's really a reinvention. If we had your relationship that was damaged in our mouths so there's a number levels. This is happening on Is there in your case load or your experiences. There's some common denominator that you find a lot of people bring to you in terms of what's stressing them or what's the trigger I know everybody's going to have a basic difference but other larger sort of macro things that that you see commonly money and job pressure top to You know that that was pre pandemic taking that into the pandemic it just kind of adding fuel to the fire if you will just a. That's always their money crusher. If it's not money it's job pressure. Not pressure maybe money but sometimes it's a combination of both Hear a lot about concerns for health. You know i have this chronic condition i keep getting migraines why they wire they happening This my knees killing me and the doctors don't know you know what why i used that example. Because that's you know something that i experienced myself but it's an and relationships i i always say. Relationships are the biggest spiritual teacher. And you do you do any i guessing. Most you're works one on or within a group is still one on one but to work with couples do work with a family. Like let's say a family came to me and said listen to me. I'm yelling at there yelling at me. It's not working. I mean this is not unfortunately uncommon Would you have the capability of kind of sitting down with a family appearance and a couple of kids or something that weren't on the same page and bring them together. Or is that outside your purview. You know doing it doing work as a group is outside of the work that i typically do because what i find is that it's really about. The individuals experience like the real healing is how the how the individual is feeling and how to bring out that s that sense of emotional freedom that sense of peace offensive content so that they can show up in relationships in a different way. Six yourself fix anything else. And especially like i would say i mostly know when you work with folks. I work with parents that work with adults and so when we shift. What's internally happening. We become a different role model. We break the pattern. If we have an unhealthy relationship or a weird pattern going on with our kids were able to break that pattern and Oftentimes bhai getting more in touch with what's going on with us. We are able to kind of take down the blinders and see holy crap. This is what's happening is my kids. They're struggling. This isn't an issue with math. This is an issue with. I heal unseen. I don't feel understood. And and then you can get to the math right now. i gotcha. I knew a new person who was having a very toxic. That seems to be the word. It's used relationship and she had all kinds of health issues. Show eggs him on her arm and she was losing her hair and she finally got the conviction to just get out of this relationship and within a month. I don't even think two three weeks. A lot of these physical ailments were almost gone. And i obviously there's a mental people. I'm stressed out to get headaches. I'm always but i don't think people really understand how deeply this can affect you physically. I mean heart attacks. It can get really nasty. I know. I don't want to offer this out to the world. But i know you run a workshop. The fourth tuesday of every month memory right thing. Do it's actually sending that we used to do you. Oh so we actually ended up being at private. who our community. Never what do we use offered. Everybody go ahead. Yeah we used to do it publicly but now we just do it with our clients. It's called self. Karen action.

Oh you home school kid yeah you they get to go to the museum to learn about dinosaurs and mike book but mike. It's much better can be more well adjusted socially. That's something he worries about. And you're not really or experiences resource. We haven't gotten that question. In the last year specially but but we find that our kids are much better to address an adult and a child younger than than who they are and interact with much different Different age levels and my kids the same way you know. When we went to the county fair my kids would be talking to the vendors and they would be helping out with the younger kids because we had three foster kids for a while and you know they just got used to that. I don't just have to associate with people. Were the same age as me and and that just became the norm like we had two other families that we shared on schooling with once a week and we mixed all the kids together. That's because we only two to three kids each graciela before odds cool yes exactly question from the audience. Let's see if we anyone address us how well prepared were year students. I presume ron is referring to your children. College versus students who came from elite private schools prep schools public schools for. How do you feel about this. You know it's funny. My oldest didn't want to go to college. He told me that he was very adamant about that. We did unit studies but And he didn't actually learn to retail twelve. The funny thing was that we tested in minnesota and so the next year. He took the test at age thirteen. He actually was reading at a college level within one year span. He actually league graduated cum laude from university of houston in biomedical engineering. He he had a really hard time dealing with some of.

Look the school kept. He kept thinking in the principal's office every day. And i said well. This isn't working. Well is it. And fortunately i had a very very caring principal that sat me down and she said i think you just really need to get him tested. We had no idea what was going on with him. He's just he's extremely brilliant but just couldn't fit in socially and and so at that point he was he was just so depressed he adult so much bullying even private school where we thought he was at least a little bit more protected kindergartner gardiner. Yeah exactly yeah he just kept saying i just wanna die and at that point you ask this. This has to be my choice you know. There's there's no other thi- my kids important. You know the funny thing is now. He's turning twenty four in a couple of months and he followed my footsteps and got a degree in biomedical engineering cell. The medical device in history. "Whenever More same i mean. Certainly the cost is there. Annette's you know from most people. I've talked to before they do pay for their child to go to college. They say. Hey grad school is on you if you wanna do. That's what i found that most parents they'll pay for the undergrad but grad school is on them As far as action going you know whether going or not. I mean that's really. I think it depends on what you're studying. You know certain certain. Professions you kind of have to go to grad school. You know if you're gonna be a lawyer doctor. You know even certain other new professions you kind of need to You know but i think that You know i'm personally. I would say if you can avoid it do because it's a big cost but I understand that certainly many professional you might. This is a little bit. I won't say there's a little bit off script but we can do that here. we can do everyone. Education life thursday. Would you have any council. I'm not sure how many of these are out there. But the one of the things that sit out there is a big elephant in the room in the world is the sheer number. People be huge education student loan debt. You get twenty. Four year olds coming out of college owen. Three hundred grand or whatever. I mean a lot of cash. The a house mortgage was any advice for them is just get disciplined get consistent Is it go beyond that. It's you know it does depend on the situation. It depends on what the earning potential is that you have something that could be paid off. You know in a relatively short manner. The biggest key is being able to come up with some type of plan more than anything on you know how to pay it off because it's a challenge you know. I have clients. I have a few clients like that coming out with two hundred to three hundred thousand dollars. And it's it's it's really hard. You imagine it's tough to go buy a house even if you have great income and you have that kind of debt you know. It's really challenging to go buy outs Or something like that so you know it. It really does depend on what the the income coming in is and what someone could feasibly do But certainly looking at you know. I would definitely recommend refinancing some of that debt or consolidating it in finding you know maybe better rates of interest and maybe coming up with a payment plan that makes sense for that for that person you know. Some people can afford to pay a little bit more than others. The other thing is looking into some of the You know the forgiveness plans out there you know depending on what line of work you're if you qualify for some of those different forgiveness plans. They're still working out the kinks in all those but there are some some pretty interesting forgiveness. Plans out there That might be worth looking into as well. Chris gonna anything you want to say kind of in summary just any. I mean we've covered a lot. I think your advice has been excellent. I would encourage people reach out. You can throw your number out there again if you want. But any any You wanna kinda kinda come. A rapid it's eight thirty here on the east coast and usually when we wrap it up here and but you know. Bring it all together here. Somebody is one basic council. What do you tell them. Well thank you having me steven. Thanks for everyone listening in But yeah i mean. I think you know at the end of the day. It's important to plan. You know whether you're talking about college savings or retirement or you know money for house or paying off debt you know having a plan in places the most important And that's really where you know. A professional can come in. And really help you customize a plan for you that's going to work for you and can maybe work out. You know some of those numbers that you might have trouble working out on your own You know it really helps to have a second pair of eyes on this stuff. Someone who's looking at this stuff. Every day i was used. The example of you know. I mean some people can handle all their finances on their own you know and and whatnot but a relatively small percentage. It's kind of like a plumber. You know some people can do their own. I'm not one of those people. i would never do. My top now exactly right. And so i kind of looked at it like that. You know when it comes to your there are some people that can do all that on their own but most of us should really go seek that help just like most of us would go seek the help of plumber or an electrician or you know a contractor You know it's the same type of thing you know You know we do what we do. Because we know it's important and you know. And i'm just here to to to really just offer some people advice And see how. I can how i can bring value. How can benefit somebody So it's really just nothing more than a quick conversation you know. See where you are. And that's what. I i mean people where they are No matter what whether you got you know five dollars to your name or five million. It really doesn't make a difference. You know your money's your money it's important to you and you need to make sure you can You prepare for the future. And that's really where i can. How well put chris super important topic You know big issue nationally internationally and hits home good to plan. I think we use the word planning a lot Think ahead miles. We'll talk to a professional. Get some council. See where that helps you. So steve green hair education life. Thursday the first one of two thousand and twenty one of around forty eight. "Of leading Yeah high-cost awaiting whether you're talking about couch savings you know it's a lot harder. Trying to accumulate. Let's just say. I don't know fifty thousand dollars to help your kid with with college You know you're obviously going to have the time on your side if you start you know when your child is young versus wait until they're seventeen. We pretty hard to accumulate that kinda money that quickly obviously And so the younger you start you know the the the more effective gonna have you know so waiting cost a lot of money. Long-run kind of the the compound interest that you just talked about You know it cost you a lot of money and that's obviously the same for retirement planning and things like that as well that actually can have even bigger effect And so the younger that you can start. Your child is That you can at least start. Even if you're starting small you know something like you said ten bucks a month or something like that. I mean that's still better than nothing. and it can make a big difference over the course of eighteen or nineteen years for sure the give up. Your frappuccino mocha lante. Or if that's what you need to do. It's different for everybody. You know everybody has different different lifestyles. Different things like that but sometimes it does take a little bit of sacrifice giving up some of those luxuries that we sometimes enjoy If it's important to us you know so we kind of have to wait. What's most important Sometimes decide you know. Senator kennedy couch is more important than the daily wrap pacino. I do know i i could. I could let me ask you this way It isn't the only thing people are going to be saving for right. I mean the been. You got at least a couple yet house. I guess for lottery expanse. You've got a retirement which may be even bigger expense. You got education especially if you have multiple children you gotta balance point. I guess you can co mingle them to some degree. I can you. Can you cite case study or something. They'd be a family you've worked with or you know. Obviously we don't want names but you know family you've worked with who may have been a good example of of a plan that you were able to suggest to them and put them on Yeah i mean you know it is you know like you said there's a lot of things. There's a lot of things that we have to spend money on. We have to prepare for the future so a lot is hard to know. Which one do i focus on you know. Do i focus on college. I focused on retirement. you know an and it's it's really different for everybody to be honest with you but for most people it's gonna be kinda finding that balance as you said. Steve you know putting that money away both for yourself As well as for your children and kind of being able to find that middle ground where you can both help your child out a bit But also not put yourself in a spot where you know it's too late for you to catch up You know i've seen happened many times and sometimes people choose to do. I think you actually mentioned to me before about someone. You knew that did that. Day shows to you know throw all their money at at college and left them not having much for retirement and it's a personal choice you know But but generally i find that having that balance in between his is often the best way to do it You're kind of putting some towards both. We got a question from the The peanut gallery here. So let's see if i can. Dresses of parent has limited resources which is relative but limited limited. The better off putting the money in a retirement account or an account to fund education from the point of view to getting financial aid. Now that's the key thing. Right is based on the way to colleges or banks or whoever took the money so what. What's your what your here. Yeah so when it comes to that mean. Financial aid thing is a little bit of a tricky situation because they are looking at your That you have But they're not looking at retirement assets when it comes to financial aid So too you know. so basically. They're looking at the liquid assets of apparent but they're also looking at the assets of a child And so the five twenty nine. If you set up like for example five twenty nine clan actually counts as the parents of the acid of the parents Whereas if you had money just in a savings account in child's name the next counts as an asset of the child Actually count even more against you for financial aid so sorry for the runaround but basically To to get more access to financial aid You might be better off putting it into a retirement account if you did a roth. Ira you could. Actually you know potentially tap into that money to use for college If need be and then the financial aid wouldn't know be affected. You still get a nice financial aid package Because they don't really know that that money's there they're not looking at to retirement assets for that baseman shield children's assets your own assets and stock into retirement. Right to think. I may be from the same person with a great question. So point of view is better off buying a more expensive house and minimize college saving by less expensive house and get more savings Interest we got a very agent audience. Excellent excellent question. They know what it's a fair question because there's only so much The meeting the stew so to speak and most people at least. I'm not a millionaire independently. Wealthy chris christie may be not to stop day but But the point is we have limited assets allocation's important budgets important. But wh what do you think about this is is is there an answer. Investment property minimize your colleges does. Is this a financially issue is a financial aid officer looking at. If you've got five hundred thousand dollars two hundred thousand dollars for four million dollar house is that initiative Not necessarily looking at the what. Your house is worth You know in that case From my understanding but but obviously a less expensive house would allow you to put more money away Ideally you know. I think it just i guess it depends on what your needs are and if you're going to be a certain area or something like that. Obviously certain school districts cost more than and whatnot But i mean in my road in a perfect world. i'd say by the less expensive n. Save the money and maybe put it into that know roth. Ira or something like that to shield it A little bit from the financial aid perspective Just because it gives you more money. i'm just. I'm of the belief right. I'm of the belief that you don't wanna be house for you. Don't wanna be spending. You know a huge chunk of your monthly income on housing expenses. That just you know. That's just my personal belief but obviously everybody has different ideas and some people would rather the nice house So it's just you know it is a personal preference for sure. But i would say you know. Getting the less expensive house is probably a little bit better just for your overall financial stability. But i mean we're focusing on education. That's that's my spot. But can't i. This is not happening in any sort of vacuum. I'll tell you a quick story about Compound interest crystal chance to breast. I wanted to franklin and marshall college in lancaster. We're not going to get into politics but we are gonna talk about important which is money right and love it hate it. We need it. And if you're going to send your kids to college you want to retire with some level of comfort you better start thinking about it at some point right so we want to start this let. Let's wanted to talk about kind of just your whole philosophy maybe I mean obviously everybody knows. You've gotta have some money right. The can't syndicated college. College is creeping up on a quarter quarter million dollars. It's it's a lot of money and You know it is what it is but planning. I gotta think you're going to use that word at least once or twice tonight right. So i'm gonna give you the floor. Tell us You know where you're coming from. What's your philosophy in how you think you can help people sure sure. Thanks dave Yeah i mean. I guess to start. I mean you know as you mentioned. I went to school for for sports. Sports management Learn anything about money. You know the traditional education system unfortunately doesn't teach as much about money And the importance of savings and then you know the the detriment Effect of debt long-term and things like that And so when. I got involved doing this. I more than anything wanted to just share this information with people as far as you know the importance of starting young To save money the importance of having a plan to get out of debt importance of of having a budget knowing where. Your money's going every month so that you can put yourself in position for the future. And so i just love being able to educate people doing workshops educational seminars things like that and just just teaching people. Some things about Would like to call how money works. you know we all use money every day but we're not talking about it. You know schoolteachers about you know science and algebra and chemistry and all this stuff and not that some of that stuff's not important but the majority of don't use that stuff daily synon- but we we we use money every day right and You know so so at the end of the day you know. It's it's important that we learn about these things and put ourselves in position For the future you know. Let let me ask you this. It's a eighty six. We usually wrap this up about eight. Twenty eight thirty something like that but if somebody really wanted the core complete distillation if could you somehow summarize what you would like people to know it. I mean we'll talk more talk more but in one sentence or maybe two concise sentences. What what do you think's really a huge takeaway or you know you've worked with a lot of people in in eight years. I'm sure is there one really common mistake. People make or one piece of advice it just resonates with people tremendously. I mean there's there's a couple depending. I think the biggest thing comes down to is is discipline I think and that's probably true in most areas of our life but but just having the discipline to pay attention to what's happening financially It takes some time. It takes some effort but but having that discipline in focus on well. That's certainly true in academics consists. I i probably the way you're expressing discipline. I tend to use the word consistency over right through it. What are some of the techniques. You don't want to give away to shop here right. I mean but i'm tell you gotta concept pay yourself first right. Hey yourself i. What does that mean. How do people put that into action. Well you know basically what that means is to put money away for yourself first before you pay all your bills and everything like that. Obviously that doesn't mean don't pay your bills but what that means is you have a plan to save money whether it be both short-term and long-term if you have a four one k. or something like that. Obviously that money comes out. I out of your check before it hits you right but if he maybe if you don't have a 401k. So a little bit harder to do you know so having a kind of some type of program. They're both for short term savings in long-term savings that that is coming out. You know at at at the beginning of the month Going into some other type of savings or investment plan for you You know for the future you know so making that the most important priority limits focus onto college education for a second. You got eighteen years to plan for it. Basically i say nineteen. I guess if you're planning on having a twenty maybe So this should not be in any other circumstance. Something that creeps up on people right. It's not like look you. Some tree falls on your car. And he's got to go buy a new car and you don't have the money. This is something people can see. Eighteen year miles away if there is such thing So it is it in yet you got a lot lotta pushes and pulls where you got mortgage you got this. You got that is there. Some advice Just even if it's ten dollars a month or something. Is there an entry point that that makes sense that that would not stress people out when they should start thinking about this sort of planning amid certainly depends on the person what they can maybe afford with their current you know income and budget and things like that but yeah i mean you can start very small You know ten dollars a month a little bit hard but even that. If that's all you could start with. You could still start that way You might not be able to set up a you know investment plan right with ten bucks a month but usually you can actually start investment plans for couch savings or other things for you know even as little as twenty five or fifty dollars a month or even that much quarter maybe do fifty dollars a quarter if you can't afford fifty dollars a month To start or something like that you know and so you know even something as little as that if you're doing that like you separate eighteen or nineteen years. That's gonna make a big difference you know it's it's gonna be a good chunk of change at your able to put away the who was it only steiner Franken the power of compounding right. I stein powerpoint interests most powerful role in the universe. No well but it is because ten dollars today might be fifty in sixteen or seventeen years. Obviously the interest rates are going to the interest rate. The clinton by the way if you're out there in the whatever the cloud world and you want to ask chris a question or you wanna make a comment. Just drop it in right below wherever.
