"We're following this hour, two men are in the hospital after violence broke out on a D.C. circulator bus near the anacostia metro station late this afternoon. Police say a fight between the two men started on the bus, it then spilled out into the street where one man pulled out a knife and stabbed the other, a nearby metro transit police officer stepped in as we hear tonight from D.C. police chief Robert Conte. They officer axel the person to drop the knife, that person didn't, the officer engaged, fired a shot, one shot it appears at this point striking the person. He says, both men are in the hospital. They are expected to recover from their injuries. The incident, of course, remains under investigation. Virginia leaders continue to lobby for a new FBI headquarters to be built in the Commonwealth, and they're now taking their arguments to the op-ed page of The Washington Post. Governor Glenn youngkin, a Republican, wrote the article along with democratic U.S. senators, Mark Warner and Tim kaine. They say, even though they come from different political parties, they are in lockstep on this issue. "Neighborhood in greenbelt is shaken after a shooting on Thanksgiving Day. A 16 year old boy was shot while walking a dog just after 2 p.m. on Matthews street at or Glenn drive. A nearby home was also hit with gunfire during the attack. That home's owner Mary's son was resting with her husband when they heard the shots. No change with the volume on the envelope, Virginia side still slow, just on the short stretch from after Georgetown pike to the legion bridge, so the beltway is looking better and better as we speak. Maryland and I two 70 no problems there, 95 doing well on the Maryland side, PW Parkway had some weekend volume, little blow speed, both ways inside the beltway through hydesville and outside the beltway to parts of greenbelt and Laurel. That said, below speed on the southbound side before and after route 32, roof 50 continues to ride very well both inside and outside the beltway and still rolling across the bay bridge in both directions, three lanes west two lanes east across the bay. Have that crash over in Bethesda affecting the right side of Rockville park and in the southbound direction of poke still road, police are with it, clean up his underway, over in Virginia 66, not a problem. We'll see if they're going to do any work on the eastbound span or if we'll go three lanes eastbound two lanes west, but for now, two lanes these two lanes west, the left lane blocked on the westbound span with two way preparation. We're almost clearing out on the inner loop south of town. We're still heavy approaching two ten headed down toward the Wilson bridge. Delay in Virginia, outer loop coming out of spring zone toward van dorn, inner loop, slowly riding up toward Braddock road in two 36, south George Washington Parkway off and on delays, passing one 23 to the overlooks, then as you approach and pass spout run, headed down toward the key bridge. 66 going east, unfortunately before 50, it sounds like a crash, dump truck versus car, and left side of the roadway tied up, 50 east before string fellow road and fairfax, there we've got a broken down vehicle in the left lane earlier had a crash. It was on the Reston Parkway northbound above the toll road unclear if that's gone yet or not. The rest of the Maryland roadways fairly quiet 50 across the bay bridge two way traffic on the eastbound band passing without delay. And the district, the crash was inbound on just on I 66 after the Roosevelt bridge on the ramp of the E street expressway with caution. In Virginia, lots of work. Odd outer loop of the capitol beltway, there had been work setting up bad for Leesburg pike over on the right side, the ramp from the outer loop to go west on 66, it's a single lane out of the two you normally get to make that transition, continuing outer loop of the beltway that works on between the little river turnpike and Braddock road is two right lanes to get by at last report according to the caller and then outer loop. After the Springfield interchange, before the point where you split off for the through lanes or the local lanes on the beltway, two left lanes are blocked by that work. On the inner loop, the work was going to be after the dulles toll road heading towards Georgetown pike with two right lanes getting by. On 95, northbound work after the centerport Parkway sluggishly, we get by to the left, south bounders after route one is Pennsylvania where the left lane blocked there. 66, the westbound work inside the beltway near the dulles connector road has blocked a left lane outside the beltway. It's single right after the after exit 57 for route 50 pharaohs all the way to the fairfax county Parkway to get past that work zone. East founders you'll find work near one 23 with the left lane getting by and then before the beltway two to the left getting by underneath the gallows road overpass restructuring. It's just past the exit, single file to the left is getting by and that becomes the breakaway point for Virginia. We are going to go back into Maryland because our listeners on I 70 have also kept us updated. They have not moved on. I 70 as you're heading eastbound out of new markets, 75 year last chance. Any traffic beyond that point is still stopped the crash is right near the truck scales. They landed on both sides of the roadway. If you're northbound on I 97, this is headed past route three, and then left side is blocked still with the crash involving a motorcycle there. Burtonsville was northbound 29 after one 98. That's where we had the reporter Rex watch out for that. Route 50 eastbound delays, leaving the 7 river bridge headed toward the Chesapeake Bay bridge we do have three lanes west in two lanes east going across the bay. No problems reported on the beltway in prince George's county earlier issue on the antelope near four 50 in apple's road should be wrapped up and gone with all your traveling open, in virginity, in loop is slow as you approach the dulles toll road headed up to and across the American legion bridge also the GW park where you slow to join the in loop ramp to go across the legion bridge as well. "Everyone's power back on. Thousands in prince George's county are still without it nearly 48 hours after that heavy wet they're rolled through. Pepco says 7800 homes and businesses are still out in prince George's. Most of them in greenbelt college park and beltsville, about 2000 Pepco customers in Montgomery county are also in the dark. Pepco says all of its customers should have power by 6 o'clock tomorrow morning. That's an update to earlier reconnection estimates. BGE has nearly 2600 customers out in prince George's county, the utility says restoration of its service is expected by tonight. It is the primary that was moved until midsummer. Now, Maryland voters are being told they may have to wait for final election results next week. When the polls close on July 19th, primary election day in Maryland, the ballot counting will begin, but just the in person votes from election day and the early voting period. The results will not include more than 500,000 mail in ballots sent out. Maryland state senator Cheryl Kagan. They can not be touched until Thursday after election day. Shootout at Virginia Walmart injures three, including deputy
"In Sterling ended with four people being shot, including a man who opened fire on store security and allowed in county sheriff's deputy This all happened yesterday afternoon. Security guards inside the store say they noticed a man stealing items and when allowed in county sheriff's deputy tried to take him into custody. It's alleged the suspect pulled out a gun and started shooting. Another deputy, then shot back. But even though he was hit, the suspect apparently stole a pickup truck. It was able to escape. Fairfax County Police found that suspect driving south on route 28 Shan Tilly just before the truck crashed. Everyone involved. The shootings were hospitalized with serious injuries, but they are all expected to be okay as well.
