What happened in Frederick county, Maryland, someone reported that people had been stabbed at an elementary school, but that report turned out to be fake. The call about the stabbings was made by a teacher at green valley elementary school at the Frederick county sheriff's office says when deputies arrived, they found an empty classroom. The teacher who made the call removed the group of 27 5th graders from the school. According to officials, she took them through the Woods to get to a cafe about a mile down the road where she made the call to law enforcement, officials say people there noticed the teacher acting distraught. In a letter to the community, the school's principal said the teacher was using a school security drill strategy taught to staff, but he acknowledged this experience was upsetting for students. The school district is investigating the incident and the teacher was taken to a nearby hospital for an evaluation. Melissa Howell WTO news. Police say he terrorized the D.C. region for years, raping women and killing one of them. His attorney tried to stop it, but the biggest piece of evidence in the case will now be used by prosecutors. The DNA police got from Giles work was collected voluntarily, said a D.C. judge giving prosecutors the ability to use the biggest piece of evidence they have in this trial. DNA is the only reason Warwick even landed on the radar, and it's all police have connecting him to the rape of several women in D.C. and Maryland, including the Raven murder of Christine marzia. That's the crime he'll go on trial for later this month for days last month, prosecutors and the defense argued whether Warwick really could have told the police no when they asked to speak to him and when they asked for his DNA. "Big time development in the quest to buy the Washington commanders. Amazon founder and Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos appears to be very interested in acquiring the franchise and he may be working with Jay-Z. Multiple news outlets report the Amazon founder and music mogul might team up or launch separate bids to buy the team. This conversation has begun now that the current owners Dan and Tanya Snyder announced they've hired Bank of America to handle any potential sale. Daniel Kaplan, senior NFL writer for the athletic join WTO earlier to talk about the factors that would determine who the new owner is. They want to make sure the owner has enough money to build a new stadium, fund new facilities, pay his salaries. So obviously diversity is a big issue for the NFL. They would love to have a general partner who's a minority, but absent that, they would like to see diversity in the ownership group. It's not clear whether Amazon's deal to carry Thursday Night Football would be a conflict. Earlier, Bloomberg reported that media tycoon Byron Allen had also expressed interest in the team, he was trying to buy the Denver Broncos earlier this year. If Alan or Jay-Z were to lead a successful buying bid, they would be the first black majority owner in the NFL. How would you like to buy part of the former home of Washington's football team? RFK stadium. Those are the seats that have seen all the good times of being an NFL fan in D.C.. And now you have the opportunity to go out and really buy a piece of RFK stadium that can be a part of your home, your office. Ralph Morton is a vice president with events D.C., which has started selling lower bowl seats from inside RFK stadium. They range in price from 350 to $500. NEC two buy will be ready for pickup from the stadium next month. This is something that is a classic thing that you will, if you're a fan and you treasure those moments, it's an opportunity to keep that a lot. Seats from the iconic bouncy upper deck will go on sale sometime next year. John dome in WTO P news. It's 1105, new tonight, police are still trying to make sense of a troubling situation that unfolded this afternoon involving some elementary school kids and their teacher in Frederick county, Maryland. Let's get the story from WTO's Mike Morello. It was from a cafe near Monrovia's green valley elementary school that a call came in to 9-1-1 about multiple stabbings at the school. While we were responding, we made contact with the school and asked them if they had any stabbings going on, they told us no, but they were missing a teacher and 27 students. Todd rival with the Frederick county sheriff's office. He says it's unclear why the teacher took the kids through the Woods to the cafe while having them discard any bright colored clothing, then. The teacher got there to the buzz cafe with two children. She asked the owners to call 9-1-1. Bible says a teacher was taken into custody, but was clear to say that doesn't mean she's being charged with anything. The students were all unharmed and bused back to the school to be reunited with their parents. Mike Murillo WTO news. And we of course will be checking for updates on this story, stay with WTO and WTO dot com for updates. In Virginia, parents and students were encouraged to email a new tip line where they could report divisive topics. It was one of governor Glenn youngkin's earliest projects and now it is over. Some parents complain their kids were just a sign busy work during COVID, another objected to teacher pay raises after a year of remote learning. One parent said it took remote learning to discover a school board's quote secret leftist politically motivated agenda and critical race theory brainwashing. But others used the tip line to complement teachers and express appreciation. Now a youngkin spokesperson says the tip line was deactivated in September because it wasn't receiving many emails at the time. Neil law had been staying double TLP news. "Voted for former president Trump, but said he doesn't feel compelled to vote for either party this fall. Right now, each party is just still doing tit for tat. They're not having no business. For Linda Wilson, who leans Democrat, one issue is top of mind. The abortion issue is a big one. And even though when I was younger I had the choice because I was pregnant before I got married. It was a choice. It wasn't an option that I would have chosen for myself, but I had that option. Abortion may be O'Day's biggest challenge. He backs some abortion rights, but he's running in a state with a long history of protecting abortion access. The state codified its protections this year, a law O'Day opposed. He also voted for a ballot measure in 2020 that banned abortions after 22 weeks with no exceptions. That was soundly defeated. O'Day sidestepped whether those positions put him out of step with a majority of Colorado voters. Instead, he emphasized when he thinks abortion should be legal. I believe the first 5 months the mother has the choice after that. There should be some exceptions, rape, incest, life of the mother. But O'Day said he supports Trump's Supreme Court appointees, who voted to overturn roe V wade, abortion rights advocates argue that position is inconsistent. I believe in good conservative judges. I like that. But I don't believe in the decision that they made. O'Day said he would represent his constituents if a nationwide abortion ban came up in the Senate. But Bennett argues O'Day's position on abortion, along with his stances on other issues, will turn off Colorado voters. He's the nominee of the Republican Party here in Colorado, and he says that Trump bears no responsibility for what happened on January 6th. That should be disqualifying to say nothing of his position on roe versus wade to say nothing of his position on the trickle down economics that have made Colorado in so many places in this country unaffordable for working people. As O'Day deliberately pivots away from Trump, Bennett insists the former president is a factor. It's a reality that Trump hangs over everything. Trump is someone who came up with most of the voters we talked to. Philip cardenas, who sells freeze dried candy at the green valley ranch farmers market, plans to back Bennett, he admits he doesn't know anything about O'Day, but says he's concerned about extremism from the GOP. I think a majority of Americans are purple. I mean, if the climate was different, I would definitely, and I thought a Republican president would do better. I would vote. But there are too far right right now with the mega crowd. O'Day has called January 6th, a black eye on the country. He vows he wouldn't vote in lockstep with GOP leaders. If they want my vote, then they're going to have to earn it and they're going to have to move things around to make sure that I can honor my word. Complaints about partisanship blocking real action are common here. Lynette B hill, a mom of 7, says housing costs are out of control. But she doesn't have much faith, Congress will do much about it. It's a circus. There's no other word for it. It's a circus. I feel like people are living in an alternate reality. Then it gets the frustration, but points to a string of recent bills as evidence the Senate is working. I mean, you hard to imagine somebody more disenchanted with Washington, D.C. than I am. But I will say that for the last 12 months or so, it's really been amazing to see what's been accomplished mostly in a bipartisan way of Republicans and Democrats working together. And I don't think that should be discounted. Bodes pitched to attract independence and Democrats is that he's someone who's willing to compromise. But Bennett says this election is a choice between a party that has made some headway to bring down high prices or a party dominated by a leader still fighting about the last election. "Ruger dot com slash max 9. All right, we're back and you're not listening to the sweet vocal pipes of mister Ryan Gresham. You've got KJ instead that annoying voice in your ear. So we've got log down here. We're talking with Brian and Kelly. And we're talking about diversifying and let's start on the personal side first because I think that's something talking to Kelly. I'm going to start with Kelly because ladies first as always. Talking with you that really, really kind of maybe start to kind of reflect on my own, how am I diversifying? Because you do a lot of different things. When you start talking, you make your own stained glass. And that's shocking. And she's about to start trying to become a blacksmith. And you wait left. And you're a second degree black belt in show enroll. Show and roux, which is tell everybody. It's a Japanese style of martial art that comes from Okinawa. So that to me is like, and that's so that's such a broad range. And then she coached she makes. She grows her own food. And that to me is pretty impressive. And so what drives you to diversify like that? I just feel like my mind is always moving and I have to find new outlets to do things. That's why I started to get bored. That's what I do. Very quickly. But I mean, to get a second degree black belt in anything, is I mean, that takes a long time and a lot of dedication. Yeah, I started when I was 7. And then when I moved away to college, I would still practice with my dad when I came home. But after that, it kind of, you know, you do less and less because you can't go to the well, those motor skills are still there though. Right. I mean, because we were talking to we were telling them how I was like, look, this ain't New Orleans of like ten years ago. It's pretty rough down there. And Kelly kind of just looks at me and goes, I think I'm okay. And that's what prompted the question. Wait a second. What do you mean by that? Oh, you're carrying. Oh, great. And that's where my mind went was, oh, she carries no. She's always carrying two guns and kicks. So that just prompted my mind to start running. And Brian, you do more gun stuff. And so talk about that a little bit. Sure. So I bought my first pistol in 2011. So I had had guns before that that were kind of handed down to me. But that was like my first gun purchase. It was a Springfield armory XD. And as with all the other stuff I do, I did a bunch of research and stuff beforehand. And you know what's funny? Is that I want to say when I was when I turned 21, that was the first one I bought as well. It was an XD. It's great gun. Great gun. Still to this day. It's my night Shane got now. So I bought that and then I started shooting competition, I think, like 6 months after buying that first pistol. And I was going to the range all the time and I really enjoyed getting better. But at a certain point, just standing still shooting at the same target over and over again just got boring for me. And so I just started looking around and we've got this incredible facility green valley that's just ten minutes away from us. It's one of the top ranges in the country. And ipswich actually started at that range. And academy. And it's got a ton of streaming. It's really cool. And so I started shooting at EPA there. And I don't know about IDP aids, the international defensive pistol association. So it's kind of built around concealed carry. And so I wore my inside the waistband whole survey. Yeah. With my gun with just like a normal shirt and I literally got a Hawaiian shirt. No. I don't actually miss the opportunity. But I used that as practice for hansel curry. And then I just got better and better. And then I started taking it more seriously as competition side. So then I switched to the whole IDP vest. I built a custom. Really? Yeah, I built a custom double stack, 1911, a 2011, and so that's been my competition gun for like 7 or 8 years now. No kid. And so yeah, that's kind of what got me really, really into the firearms side. You know, not just being a firewall. So how was that switch from, I mean, I guess you're carrying over a lot of the same functionality as you would in your daily life. But how did switching over from the mindset of, I'm going to now do really competitive because you started out more like this will help my concealed carry. What was that process like? I think the biggest thing was just that I noticed that I was consistently getting better. You know, I was like, I didn't really care about the scores, but when I tell you did. When I would look at them, yeah, I'm like, wow, you know, I'm like, you know, slowly moving it up. In the pack. And I'm not really taking it that seriously. And so I thought, well, what can I do if I do take it seriously? And luckily, I had a ton of really, really, really good mentors. That helped me along the way. And I still think back to those guys that kind of helped push me along and stretch my boundaries and so then I started getting into it. And then before I had kids, I was traveling all over the country shooting a statement. That's all. Took it really seriously. And then as I had kids try to dial dial back the travel. And so now I've been the match director for IDP at green valley for the past 5 years, I think. So just another evolution that's who you are and what you do. So easy to do. Yeah, I tend to kind of go all in with a hobby. Oh yeah. And then normally I get burnt out on it pretty quickly. I usually last about three to 5 years in a hobby. Well, this one is hung on. Thanks for going for a long time. I think I've been doing it for 12, 12 years now something like that. That's ridiculous. All right, we're going to, we're going to take our last break. And when we get back in, we're going to talk about Kelly's other deadly obsession. Springfield armory has expanded their lineup of ten millimeter pistols. The newest one is the XD and elite 4.5 inch OSP. OSP meaning optical site pistol. Yes, it's ready for red dots. It is a 16 plus one

I have been on my game. This is a good preview of what's to come. I'm hoping this is a good preview of what's to come later today. You're on your game. Yeah. Then again, do we really need to be on our game, knowing that the inevitable stoke meltdown will occur at some point. Right. There will come the weight of, hey, that wasn't a bad shot. That propping up your teammate and eventually it's just like, I heard y'all day. I'll take the shot. You know, that'll happen somewhere around 12. Or it'll be like, Zach will be like, all right, hey, you know, listen. We want to probably lay up here, right? At about a 150 yard club. And still could be like, I can make that shot. I can make it. Let's go for it. I can make it. And Zach will be like, no, no, I think we should take the same no, but we can make it. Let's do it. This will be the key this year. Does Zach exert more influence? Or does he let stoke continue to make the decisions for the team? Because if that doesn't take more responsibility this year, stoke will get them into situations that quite frankly will doom them. I want to pound his ass. We'll say, if they've learned, like the avalanche, see if they've learned from their past failures and spend many. Here's one. I expect the Denver Broncos to finish last in the AFC west this year. The coaching staff is too inexperienced to expect anything else. Year two playoffs, then year three, I start expecting a Super Bowl run. Tell me why I'm wrong. Well, I mean, I think you're wrong one because I think you have solved the one conundrum that has that has, I mean, absolutely destroyed them over the years, and that's the quarterback position. And so you can have a young coaching staff, but you have a veteran quarterback who has been to two world championships who has won one of those world championships who had them on the doorstep of winning number two, there is from a talent standpoint and from a just a credibility standpoint at the quarterback position, you're going to win games because of that. Are you absolutely convinced 100% prepared to say it right now, no doubt in your mind, Russell Wilson is not the fourth best quarterback in this division. He's not the fourth best. You're sure. You're absolutely in this situation this year. Newness to the team. Chemistry with players. Coaching staff, all that. You're convinced he's not the fourth best quarterback in this division, that he's automatically better than at least Eric Carr or at least better than Justin Herbert. Or mahomes, that he's not dead last out of the four. Yes. You're no doubt. There is no doubt. How would you rank the quarterbacks? I would put, I would put Russell at number two behind mahomes. I understand Herbert and then so cars the fourth best quarterback in this division. Correct. And I would say that Herbert, listen, I understand the immense talent. And I understand how good that Herbert has been. But you got to put up a winning record. When you start putting up winning records, then we'll reassess how we divvy up that quarterback pie in the AFC west. But until then, no. You have no problem put in a man at Herbert, huh? No, do you? Yeah. Why? At least to start the season, I think it's mahomes. Herbert, what does Herbert done? But again, I'm talking about continuity of staff, continuity with head coach, continuity with talent around him. He had that last year. Yep. And I think he's ready to do more this year with that continuity. Hey, listen, this is, this is not something that I think we can just gloss over. So this is a real story. This is to me these storyline. We got, we got our first gift, okay? We got our first gift and that was the schedule that's pretty soft at the beginning. That was the first domino that had to fall. Great. Now do you take advantage of it? Because the reason why was it so important, why do we all agree the star of the schedule is so important? Because we acknowledge that new coaching staff, Charlie's coach is doing things they've never done before. Not that we have doubts about Russell, but just what about putting all the pieces together? I understand. Exactly. So you're saying it's an issue. It's an issue. So you're saying that right now chargers have less of those issues. So we have talked about continuity and you have in the past pooh poohed continuity, but now you're saying that continuity is more important than having been there done that and had a great success. Continuity is more important than that. Knowing how to win, knowing how to have that success, knowing how to have a fourth quarter comeback, knowing how to do all those things is continuity more important than that. Is continuity more important than Russell Wilson's experience. So you think continuity with the Chargers who are going to charge her and who find ways to lose games? I think continuity is overrated, but anytime that you are talking about a brand new coaching staff, I don't think it can be just automatically dismissed, especially at the beginning of the season. No. You don't think Russell Wilson can overcome that. You hate Russell. We're fixing to find out. We are fixing to find out. Here's what else we're fixing to find out. Do we make it a three peat?

"Shout out to. Richard use long since retired and The was just a joy to work with and the like so. Let me talk about where were we. I'm a little off track tabet. Nfl preseason yes we're talking about cam makers and the rams and his impact and i don't wanna throw shade at can make those mentioning. Its pro football focus. Grade saquon barkley in his best season was like a seventy two so they have a very strict very high curve for running backs. Apparently a pro football is obviously. If you took saquon barkley off the giants the vegas market which i think is sharper than the pro. Football focus. market would adjust for the giants. So kim makers is a big deal losing him without a clear backup. Give me an update and if you need a minute let me know on saquon barkley. Because now the talk is he was saying you know. I'm i don't know if i'm going to be ready to go week. One and so has i don't think there's been any adjustment the week one line. I do have a healthy barclay worth a point to the line but that is certainly concerning any update on where we are with saquon. Barkley barkley was saying. I'm not gonna come back if i'm less than one hundred ten percent. Try to tamper it down. Expectations interesting at that moment. When he said that he had the fifth highest rushing total of any running back on draft. Draftkings i just checked right now a day later. They don't have the total up so that would have been good under if you've got in under eleven hundred if he misses a few games. Obviously that's going to be a good bit. I love running back injuries in terms of and just changes that there will certainly be some teams that are going to announce hey running back by committee instead of having a clear number one and if you got running back by committee you're not gonna get eleven hundred yards now not saying that's the case with barclay but Certainly that could. Well be the case with some of these. Nfl teams in terms of the usage. In the plans. They're gonna have four. They're starting running backs. As we're betting these things. And i certainly use the apps as much as i can around town but the apps oftentimes have low limits. I thought he'd go ahead and comment on my favorite sports books to wager around town. Mckenzie came up with a quick list here of my top five sports books that i like to bet on around town. Awesome sapien thickly. This is a question. I get all the time. So definitive list from the number one gambler i know. Can we hear all right so number one. There's no particular order. My top five downtown circa sportsbook. Love everything they're doing love all their contests Just a tremendous facility in downtown. Las vegas and of course with the Circus swim stadium. Swim just put it on your bucket list. Gotta do it. West gate is the old granddaddy of the sports books. The cavernous west gate park in the back. On of joe w brown and they obviously with the super conscious near and dear to my heart so got to put the west gate right there The win a little boutique sportsbook. Yes they don't really like sharps yes. Sometimes they won't give you that big of a limit but the win is really grown on me. I loved the whole facility. So i would certainly put that on the list. This is going to be a little controversy. I'm going to go mandalay bay. Just because you know the the mirage and blahsy. Oh and the arielle have nice sports books. I need one. Mgm place to bet and the mandalay bay. Easiest one for me to get in as zip an from henderson i go on. Oh gosh. I think it's dean martin drive whatever the The back way road is that runs adjacent. I fifteen spills me right out. I stop into the mandalay bay parking lot. So boom mandalay. Bay goes to that list in terms of places to bet and convenience and then places close to me green valley ranch in henderson and certainly the south point. I won the always liked about the south point. They separate the race book from their sports sportsbook. Which i think is really nice. Because most sports bettors i know don't like the race betters anyways and vice versa. Go separate those two. That don't play nice. You know. I liked the south point a lot because they don't let me bet anymore and i'm still putting them on the list so they must be doing something right for me to go ahead and have them in my what is now. I guess my top six list here so the south point won't be included in this question but if there were one of those sports books that back you off. That said you're making too much money with us which one would hurt your bottom line. The most let me think about that. I realized that answering this question might be Contrary to what you Want to get out there into the public. You know if you say this place something taking a lot of money. Maybe they'll back you off so you don't have to answer that. It's interesting because i. I think i'll answer it by saying the places that have backed me off. Historically have been the places. I have made the most money. Like the you know the william hills and and the like so because of that. You wanna play recreational better. That's a great question. Where do you wanna play. Wanna play against the squares books. The places that cater the most to the recreational bettors. And don't take big bets. Sharps and that means. You wanna play against william hill. You wanna play against Treasure island stations casino's golden nugget. Exactly because you why would you wanna play against the like the west gate. And why would you wanna play again circa well. I wanna play again. Because they let me bet. And they'll give me good limits. But you don't. They won't give me really soft numbers. Necessarily unless i could find some props in like and if you're just a recreational better you wanna play where the numbers of the most often in fact oftentimes i hear people like evaluating sportsbook like there's put up sportsbook in colorado and someone the reviewers said oh really liked the sportsbook. They do a great job. And i did. Check the lines. And i a. I'm really happy. Their lines are completely in sync. With what i see at other books. You know. that's a real positive. And mike that reviewer is no idea what they're talking about you know that's you don't want uniformity you wanna book that's completely screwing the little guy and and going in dealing the rams eight week one hosting the bears instead of seven because that's the book you're going to be able to beat the hell out of that is dealing big and catering to the recreational bettors now. Interestingly i mentioned by top six sports books i like to go. I think there may be a little bias here because in terms of just casinos that i like and the wind certainly this falls into if i really liked the casino i have to say i like the sportsbook more as well so i that that's part of the reason that the win certainly made the list and same with green valley ranch like in terms of all the station. Casinos the red rock and the green valley ranch there's a lot to like about those properties and The amenities that they offer as well that van and brutal foul benzel abby view of.

"Me welcome back to Wayne State basketball in the Patriot. It's not time for the lot from report with head Coach carry Laura Wayne State women taken in Green Valley. Game two of this weekend to game seriously, coaches always thanks for joining us entertaining game yesterday from my vantage point. I know you're frustrated with the end result, you lose by nine After leading most of the game, talk about your impressions of what you saw. Early in the game when things are going well and then maybe late in the game when they maybe went not so well, I think that I mean, I'm really pleased with our effort. I think we're really working hard. I think we're Um, defining some new rules and maybe even really defining a new identity and we're trying to do it pretty quickly. So you know, when we played at Ashland on Tuesday, um I just felt like bottle. We showed some signs for about three quarters that We've got something here. It's a little different than what we started with in December, But there's something here to work with. And then even yesterday, you know, getting Having the lead by 10 at halftime against a really good team is probably going to be going to the tournament. Probably, um, so we showed some signs. I mean, it was two point game with Under 50 seconds and I feel like we were playing really poorly, so we were turning the ball over and we were still in it so You know, I think that comes with experience. I think I have players now on new rules, and you know those They were playing. They were maybe maybe role players for us and knew their job and we're doing it doing it well, and now they've become, you know. 25 to 30 28 minute players and the responsibility has changed. So you know they're growing into that, and I'm trying to put the pieces together. That's for sure. Um, No question. You know, we miss Grace and just her leadership on the floor. I think there's down the stretch. There's times. She knows what should be happening. She would be reminding their team, you know. No fouls on this. We're going to possession game. She's she's smart about the game. And so I think we missed that. And we had some players. You know, at the end of the game, a close game yesterday makes a mistake's that We didn't need to happen. But it's correctable for sure. Let's talk about one of the players who I thought played a really good game yesterday. Becca Fou G 20 points and you're gonna need that again from her today, I would assume against a very good team in Green Valley talk about her development since her freshman year. Last year. She played some significant minutes for you, especially Last year in the black tournament. Yeah, I think back up to is really just jumping into the fire and she's ready for the challenge. She's definitely a high energy guard. And you know, we we'd certainly love that about her. But it also compared Achilles heel to a little bit, Think she? She gets going? Maybe a little too fast to think she's gotta slow down. Just got a great shot. She certainly can score. Um, but she gets herself going a little too fast enough balance. So again, that just comes with the experience and her playing more, and she's only a sophomore. And you know we're getting this year back. We're gonna have her for a while. So I'm really excited about Becca, and I know that she's gonna turn out to be a really great glee at guard. I'm not going off what you said in your previous comments about gaining experience for a lot of ladies who weren't used to playing as many minutes the last couple games because the injury to graze Kind of the same situation happening nationally. That happened yesterday against Green Valley. Do you look at it is ah, learning thing that hey, we We've been through this twice. Now we can learn from this. I know it's a very compacted season. There's not a lot of practice time that a lot of time in between games. But is this an opportunity for the ladies who haven't played a lot of minutes in crucial situations before they learn from that and maybe look forward for the second half of the season? Yeah, absolutely. And you know, I had a conversation with my point card last night and just said You've really got to be more vocal on the floor. And I know you know, Alexis, what needs to be happening out there you have. You have to stay that you have to say it. And even if everybody else knows, and they're like We got it lacks it doesn't matter. Say it anyway. And that was one thing about grace. Cash. Remember her As a freshman? There was even time should be running past the bench saying something to me, you know, you know. Hey, so and so is switching on this. Can I do that? You know, And so she is really a Great knowledge of the came and so the team is followed her and, you know, Hey, it's it's time for somebody else to step into that role and quickly and I believe Lex could do it. I believe Sam couldn't do it, but that you know you're asking your center to do something, and she's sometimes getting double teamed and pretty physical for our post players in this league. So I think Lex is ready for the challenge, and we need a court leader. And I think she can rise. Their rise to the occasion. Big of a game is this today to respond after especially what happened in the fourth quarter yesterday, and in all honesty, you play the actual in this league nationally ranked team. Usually you played Grand Valley twice this week. Another nationally ranked team and Let's get a little bit wouldn't say easier. But a little lighter after today, how big of a game is this to regain the confidence, especially the way you played in the first half, which I thought was something your best basketball season? Yeah, you know. Well, First of all, I don't think any of that ever gets easier for us. But, um, you're right, you know, actually and Grande Valley in the same week, three really tough games and we're in so with probably not a ton of experience, so Um, you know, Hey, they have to come out and play us, too, So I'm sure that they won't re watch the film as we did, and there's areas that we could make some changes. You know, My expectation is that we're going to come out and compete and with an emphasis on really taking care of the basketball today. For 40 minutes, But you know, I'm optimistic, and I think I have to be mean. They're playing really hard for for me and for the name on the front of their jersey and Have to be be here and be ready form and be positive. So I'm proud of them. And, you know, Hey, why not us? You know, we might just be a team that's gonna upset somebody. All right, Coaches, always. Thanks for joining us. Best of luck today. Looking forward to seeing you Play again and go get him. All right. Thank you said Coach Carry Laura. "In the meantime, we have a lot of folks online that would like to talk with us. We start with Steve and Green Valley Ranch on Kayla News radio. What's up, Steve? Good morning. Good morning to you all. I couldn't. I couldn't agree with you more on your thoughts. I'm in, um, unaffiliated independent. I didn't vote for Trump. But I thought some of the things he did was fine, but everything you said. I believe that term limits I think we've been ignoring. I was telling Brandon that We ignored this for decades. And you when you get the government you deserve. We've been complacent. And this is this is the wake up call. Hopefully, that will get us going in the right direction, but I think we've ignored it. Listeners a little bit of Mandy the other day. She's kind of changed her tune on some things, too. This is shocked a lot of people, but she said, You know, we settle on the truth that we agree with and we don't look any further. And I think we're getting lazy. We aren't looking for the truth. We're looking for something that we agree with. That is the wrong thing. And I think that's what you're saying, Um, you know, I said to my friends I still think America is the greatest country in the world because we manage corruption better. Yesterday. Need me wonder, And I think it's time we all realize we're responsible for this. We and that we need to be better people. We need one of better times country and we need to voted that the grass roots to get people in there that want to do the same. They should be term limited if they get the job done. Thank him if they don't say goodbye, But they cannot become professional millionaires on we let this happen over time in both sides were wrong and we need this idea. Perfect time for third party. I'm not recommending that. I'm just saying we got a lot of cleaning up to do in a third party might be a good answer. I don't know. What do you guys think? I think you know for me personally, and this is Dave. I mean, I think every option I would be interested in evaluating Every single option. You know, Rick and I were talking about term limits. Both of us are big believers in that from the 303570, who would have to approve and vote for term limits. Question Mark they would And they never will. Well, that may be true that there probably is some truth of that in there. Um, I think a third party would be beneficial to the country. It's almost happened a few times in our life time. Yeah, I think the biggest I can think of his name now. Together in, um, the year Clinton one Ross Perot. Ross Perot. Hey, was he was the outsider that almost he actually made a difference. He didn't quite get to the finish line, but he made a difference and almost 20 million people vote for him. Yeah, that's that's a big number, pretty big number, but other than him, there really hasn't been a big third party movement that's got much traction. Maybe this is the time I tell you. I tell you last night was the coup de Gras for me? I've never ever Ever entertained, and I've been asked In terms of jumping into the political arena. Watching that yesterday was just different for me. And not that I'm going to now in my early sixties, you know, I'm just not going to do that. But if I were in my early forties 20 years ago And even in rate doing radio, TV and coaching, and all that, honestly. I might I might try to jump in. Um Because not that you would have all the hall. The answers or you do everything right? But it's you feel like your country would would need, you know a different direction and Some help in some regard. I feel like most of the people that get into politics have good intentions going in. And then they abused the power. They get they get corrupted. The system's corrupt. And they're all allowed to make all these outside deals and make a lot of money and money talks and But I do feel intentions were good going in from most of them to me last night. And this will be Maybe a difficult It's not a comparison. It's simply too Acknowledge. That the feeling that I had Last night to me. Uh, vote similar Fashion. To how I felt on 9 11. 9 11 e mean honestly, and I was Um Am early forties. I thought, you know what I'm going to go in list. You know, I'm gonna go Go Do something not stand by. You know, watch this. And even though even though completely different Things. That's sort of what I thought last night. You know, it's like, Damn, I mean, really seriously. You guys can't get out of your own way You can't seemingly make Decisions that are in the best interest of our country. Both parties can't get out of your own way. Don't feel like I can trust either one of them. And that's not a good place for an average American to be. You know, the best thing about the came out on 9 11 was the country did unite For a while, and it was the best feeling. I've never felt that before in my lifetime. Yeah, the feeling of unity we had. After 9 11 was glorious. It only lasted about a year. A year and a half, and then it It went back to what itwas Three or 3919. Absolute power come corrupts absolutely to question works. I'm not. "green valley" Discussed on KNST AM 790

"Premiere retirement with Jeff Okun once again that phone number for questions 520 663 63. We're continuing our question and answer segment. Jeff, Let's jump to Brian, who listens to us in Green Valley and Brian, right? I'm expecting a 401 k p out by the end of the year of about $60,000. What's the best way to re invest this money? He goes on to say I'm a 62 year old male widower who has a work match for one k that I contribute. 16%, too. I also have a company stock plan that I purchase about $200 worth of stock every pay period with a company match, so he wants to know how should he invest his $60,000? Well again? Here's the answer. It depends. There's a lot of things that you really can't ask it. And it s so you know, the last one about a state tax that went really on and on his the whole segment just about a state because there's so many Right And not this is about a state tags. Estate planning has so many ramifications. I just went generic on it. I'm gonna have to go generic on this one, too. Just because I don't know Brian's whole situation. He might. We were several million dollars. He might just barely started that matching for one Can't have $200,000 and you know, still working on? I don't know. You know, it could have been that He was a widower, You know, maybe the final expenses or a long term illness causing to spend down all of his assets. I don't know what your situation is, Brian. So Can't possibly ask that question. But I will say this when people come at age 62 like you whether there were not whether they have a workbench for one K, By the way, if you have a workman supporter when Kate always put him to get the max match, I'm sure your company is not matching 16%. You're sorry into, for example, let's say you're making $100,000 a year You're contributing 16%, which is $16,000 of your salary, and they're probably matching. Let's say 4%, So there you go. Now you're up to 20%, which Comes out close, but not quite to the maximum out. You could put in, you know, maybe they're matching all 16%. If that's the case, then you're maxing out your 401 k, which is awesome. I get it. It's all relative. So I don't I don't know what your income level is and so forth. You know, you say and you get a 401 K pay out by the end of this year about $60,000. I'm assuming that's probably a mandatory paddle because you had a job that you left five years ago. And they're only gonna hold your foreman K for five years after termination or something like that. I would say if you're still working to roll that into either your new forum, OK if you like your new forum, OK, they're not gonna matter. Anything that rolls over. But if you liked the pricing on it, the fee schedule opportunities you have to invest and you like what you have. The off. Many Foreman case will allow you to roll old Foreman case into it and continue to keep that money tax deferred. If you just take the payout, and they pay it to you, they're going to do a mandatory 20% withholding which you may not like because you won't be able to spend that money for a while. Then you have to reinvest the 80% and then pay taxes on the rest later, And if you're working, you're probably in a higher tax bracket. Then you will be when you're not working, so I would roll it if not into a 401 K into an IRA and by the way, Cause you're 62 years old. You may also want to take that work match for a one k that you're contributing into right now. Because you're over 59 a half. Maybe you don't like all the options that are in that forum. OK, maybe it's just mutual funds that offer a lot of risk. And since right now, they're doing great. But you know that the market could correct and you're getting close enough to full retirement that you don't want to lose any of that money. You may want to consider purchasing with the 60,000. Plus maybe some more of your forum OK that you're contributing into now and rolling it into an IRA that may be invested in a principal protected For to nudity or something like that. That will increase a guaranteed rate of return or a guaranteed income for life. So let's just say you're planning on retiring and five years of age 67 because maybe that's you know, when you just have always plan to retire. You take your social security at that point, Let's say you're gonna make 30,000 social Security. You wanna make another $30,000 in guaranteed income? Because you could live comfortably on 5000 spendable because you have no mortgage and then all the rest is just basically play money fund money. So you need that extra $3000. How do you do that? Well, let's say you take $60,000 from that forum on Cape out. Another. Let's say four or $500,000 out of your million dollar for one k or six or $7000 for one k and you plug into some deferred annuity that is a guaranteed roll up or growth rate towards and income plan of maybe six or 7%, maybe more. And then in five years you have this $100,000 pot that you can take 30 or $40,000 a year out of so that would make up that other $3000 a month guaranteed for life and by the way, For some reason, the market stays down. CORRECTS interest rates stay low. If somehow you live long enough to outlive that account that 40,000 year will continue to come to you as long as you live, so that's kind of a nice benefit. That's a nice way to start planning your retirement now. And, you know, maybe the swirling cape out is the impetus to get you to think about. Oh, and by the way, what am I going to do with the rest of my money? How many use it? I'm going to just leave it to chance is 3000 month. I'm a con so security of the 2500 month I make us all security or whatever it is. Is that gonna be enough? Do I need more solid income guarantee to pay my bills or give me the peace of mind so that I could travel and go see my family and do the things that I want to.
