"Like for me, I could never be in a place for 16 years. I mean, could I? Yeah. I mean, I guess is that really kind of my personality. I spent it in my radio career. I spent 12 years At a radio station and I loved it, and I loved it and it was a great spot and I have many friends there. And when I knew it was time to leave. I knew it was time to leave. My growth had stopped there. I knew that to take the next step in my radio career, I was going to have to leave. It wasn't easy. It wasn't it was, but it was something I knew I needed to do right. So I think Aaron Rodgers, as has grown increasingly frustrated with a very conservative organization like the Green Bay Packers and everybody Don't Don't. Not look at Tom Brady and not realize that the Tom Brady effect here has made such a big difference. His quarterback season. See what happens, right? Tom Brady didn't have great weapons in New England. They didn't spend a lot of money. China surround him with a super team. It was all right, Tom. You're taking less money, and we're going to add on defense and we're going to. We're going to be smart. We're going to add here. We're going to add there, but they never went out and had an offseason like they did this past year where they spent the most money in the NFL. At least they haven't had it in a while. The top. Brady's frustrated he leaves and goes to Tampa Bay. Tampa Bay says, Tom, What do we need? What do you need? What can we do? We already have a great offense. What else do you need? Right? And Tom Brady was playing GM as much as he was playing coach and quarterback to getting his guys They're getting Antonio Brown there. It's getting robbed Gronkowski. They're getting Leonard for net there so Tom Brady the Tom Brady effect. All right, so he wins the Super Bowl. And what do the box do? The following year? They say, Okay, You know what, Tom? We're going to restructure your contract so we can get more cat money to where we can try to win more now. Right. We're not going to say no, we We can't resign. Everybody we're going to have to worry about. No, They didn't do that. They went all in again and all in and all in and when Tom Brady is done, and he's not playing, they're going to be in salary. Kapil And it will take a year or two for them to get out of that, and they're also going to have at least one Super Bowl. Maybe more. So Aaron Rodgers looks at the situation and says Well, look what's going down on the Tampa Bay. Tom Brady leaves New England. He goes down there. Tampa Bay is what do you need? What do you need? Let's do this. Let's do that. Let's get Antonio Brown. We're already good at the wide receiver position. Let's add somebody else. Let's add another running back, right. So Aaron Rodgers sees this and says, Well, hold on a second. Conservative organization like the Packers, a structure that's unique to to to any other team in sports in American sports. It doesn't have an individual owner. Right, like in this particular situation, with Aaron Rodgers being at odds. This is where an owner gets involved and says, Yo, Erin, Don't worry about them. What do we need? That's a conversation between the owner and the quarterback. So Aaron Rodgers now Doesn't have an owner to deal with. He's dealing with the president of a team who isn't making things better publicly. You certainly don't get the feeling outside of the head coach and maybe some words that have been made by the front office. That they even want Aaron Rodgers back. I mean, sure, they like Aaron Rodgers back all else being equal, but they're hardly crawling to him and saying, What can we do to make up for for why you're mad? And Aaron Rodgers would probably say well, don't drafted quarterback in the first round. Right, like Aaron Rodgers was pissed at that, and he looks at what happened with Tom Brady, and he sees other quarterbacks around the NFL that say, Do what I want or I'm gone. Carson Wentz. Terrible season, wants to be traded by eagles traded him. He's gone. Now He's happy. He's happy with the Colts. So Aaron Rodgers, I don't know how this ends. I don't know where this ends. But it doesn't feel like the Packers have done a great job once everything became public. The less that you say the better because all you're going to do is end up tweaking Aaron Rodgers even more. So I don't I don't know what you do because he apparently will sit out if you don't trade him, and there's a lot of financial implications to him sitting out there's a lot to where he would have to pay back money. You get bonus money up front. You just can't retire or say I'm not going to show up like that's pro rated bonus money. You would have to pay that money back. If you're not going to play if you're injured and get cut. Sure you keep that money you just can't not playing. Keep the money. So there's there's a lot of a lot of tens of millions of dollars involved in all of that. So that's the Packers situation. We'll talk about it here today because it doesn't seem like to me. This is a situation where it easily gets fixed of now. He comes in the training camp. There's been There's been no indications from Aaron Rodgers that he's ready to report when training camp comes. Maybe he will What do the.

"From football because we still have 88 days until the start of the NFL season and I want to talk about a guy that really wants a new home. But it hasn't been working out for him. Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers are still in limbo and thought reporter Jimmy Fowler on the potential for the Packers to trade him. Hannah since Rodgers and the Packers are still to stare down. I asked around the league to try to get some creative solutions here, so I talked to some people. I talked to some contract people, especially and there is a one and done option that the Packers and Rogers could try to execute where he plays one more year in Green Bay gives them time to groom Jordan Love. And then they can make a run into Super Bowl with the stipulation that he's cut or traded, most likely traded after the year. In fact, you can work that into a contract where you create a poison pill of sorts where, if you're not cut or traded by a certain date, you get an obscene amount of money like, say, $100 million in a roster bonus, just something that the Packers wouldn't pay to execute that promise. The Eagles.

"Or entertainment in you know that but more than that there are shared experience. People wanna talk about them. You've come to the right place. We've got a lot to talk about tonight. As the saying you know mendota springs water. Minnesota house that for do one. It's going to be let straight out of the pre-game show. You always wanted all right. Well the new soap opera entitled has the stomach term starring. Aaron rodgers continued in full force. The last few days and it actually entered sweeps week since nfl minicamps opened in new conversations and new speculation and each side. Well he seemed to dig in just a little further night. I can't see really taken aside on this one. All i know is that aaron rodgers behind center this fall for the green bay packers it will be a major lose lose for both sides. Trust me on that. C rogers claims. The front office really hasn't supported them by replenishing him with the requisite talent to get to the promised land meanwhile pissed away an important draft choice in two thousand nineteen bhai selecting a player. Who might help them someday but sure as hell not today but the front office will defend the fact they are experienced at these things and we know what we're doing so let's take a minute to impact is for just for a minute okay. It turns out since the packers drafted aaron rodgers and twenty eight the only skill position player. They drafted in the first round by green. Bay has been his heir. Apparent jordan love included were eleven players on defense into offense lineman. So does rogers have a point. But if rodgers isn't bluffing any really follows up on his veiled threat to never be back in green big in which. I don't believe i promise you regret it for the rest of his life. I've seen this before. Vince ferragamo pablo sandoval lance parrish. I can list a bunch of guys who really didn't return and they really threatened and they followed up with threat and they regretted it and admitted it later. See rogers needs to learn from their experience. See you know experiences a funny thing. There's an old tale about two cow pokes on the prairie having a conversation a father and son the father son. You're a man with experience all you have to do is listen to the land. You can see what's up ahead. What the future holds and precisely that moment over about sixty feet away from kabul noticed a man lying awkwardly on the ground his ear pressed to the earth. scientists said. there's a man with experience. Let's go ask him what he sees. Hey buddy what's up ahead. Could you tell us the young capo gassed. I'm sure he said well. "And as soon as they start throwing to 10 tonight, his phrase out there. That's weeks. Sometimes it's months. And oftentimes it's the lead up to potential Tommy John surgery, So I said all the matches screwed. They've had so many injuries this year to begin with, and now the one guy who they cannot Afford to lose. Jacob deGrom has this issue. Well, sure enough, he hopped on zoom last night, which I predicted as the game was ongoing. We we're not gonna hear about this Still tomorrow or the next day they're going to say we need an MRI can't say anything but no. He got on zoom with all the media after the game and said, Let this popped up during the week. It tightened up a little bit. It didn't get any worse during the game. I'm not concerned about this, and I think that I should miss no time whatsoever. So every Met fan got to breathe a sigh of relief because the ground came out and said, Don't sweat it. And as a matter of fact, they reported that Jake the Graham got out and threw on the side today. So it is not an issue And it wasn't an issue because they held on and won the game last night. But when when you get a report in game and the guy was lifted because of flexor tendon tendonitis That's something that does scare the Jesus Audi, but, uh they were chanting at Citi Field last night. Not so young, which or by the way, the grounds already got two of those and he is so far ahead and that standings in the National League. It's almost funny. But they would can't m v P, and they've got a leg to stand on that this right now You don't always think the pictures as M v P candidates, but he is so dominant right now. I do think he's an M v p candidate in the National League, So yeah, we're gonna get some baseball into Couple of NFL things. Oh, things are just getting worse in the neighborhood up there in Green Bay. Mr Rogers is none too pleased, and neither his neighbors ak his bosses. I couldn't believe that. Mark Murphy, the president, CEO of the Green Bay Packers, came out and said some things, he said in the past week. That Aaron Rodgers is a complicated fellow. Is he trying to pick a fight? Why would you call your m V P Quarterback who you know is none too pleased at this time Who didn't show up for any of you work out. A complicated fellow, even if you believe it, and oh, by the way, if you're asking me he's onto something. I think Aaron Rodgers is a complicated fellow. I don't care. I'm a silly talk show host here on CBS Sports Radio who is not a Packer fan. I don't dislike the package. Actually, I make Aaron right. I think I'm sort of an Aaron Rodgers fan. But I can express an honest opinion. I think he's a complicated fellow. I'm not trying to get him to come back to work with me. If that were the case, I would probably keep that to myself. I would not let that get out into the public forum where Aaron Rodgers can hear it and only get more. Annoyed. He's complicated. He's also easily annoyed. And now I think he's even that much more annoyed with the Green Bay Packers, um and another quarterback who has annoyed me if Aaron Rodgers is annoyed, So be it. I understand why I'll explain to you why I'm annoyed with Russell Wilson. This story was out there about two days ago, maybe three. A couple of days ago. Um, that Russell Wilson Had the nerve to say. But he never really requested or asked for a trade from the Seattle Seahawks this offseason. Well, then where did we come up with a list of the fort Eames? That, uh, Mr Wilson would accept the trade too. He put him out there, Not me. Someone had to put it out there, his agent was quoted as saying. Not that we're asking for a trade. But if we were to be traded, the places that Russell would like to join would include the Dallas Cowboys in Chicago bears, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. Come on. How stupid do you think football fans are? How dumb do you actually believe us to be? You didn't ask for a trade. But you're quoting teamed, You'd accept a trade to which Oh, by the way, I don't believe he's got a no trade contract. So if the Seahawks really got mad on and they wanted to ship them out of town, they don't need his permission to do so. Now the team that's acquiring them is going to have to pay through the nose and give up plenty in exchange. They're going to want to know that Russell Wilson is okay with being traded there. So even though he doesn't have no trade, no trade clause, he could make a trade rather difficult. So I I think he was actually within his rights to Let it be known what teams he would be Okay, uh, making his next next stop in his NFL career, but then don't don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining. We never actually requested a trade. As soon as you put out a list of teams, you'd be okay to be traded to do. You've officially requested a trade. Russell Wilson, What is it with the superstar quarterbacks? I guess the diva factor in sports is just Increasing exponentially. It seems to me on a day in day out bait. Certainly a year in year out basis, put almost a day in day out basis. We've got him in the NBA. We've got him in the NFL. We've got him in Major League baseball. I'll give hockey credit. They I I dare you call me and oh, by the way, we'll get the phone lines open right away 855 to 1 to 4 to 27. And give me a hockey diva. Yeah, Yeah. Yeah, I know that the the Pittsburgh haters are going to go immediately to Sidney Crosby because, yes, he can embellish a penalty. When he's on the ice like no one else in the National Hockey League, and he does get a lot of calls because he's a superstar player, and he's very good at helping the referees notice when something goes down. Reminds me the NBA when these guys Can Dive into players..
How Eminem Helped Save Detroit
"The year is two thousand eleven. The event super bowl forty-five the pittsburgh steelers versus the green bay packers. Aaron rodgers was mvp. Christina aguilera sang the national anthem. The black eyed peas performed the halftime show in truly fergus. Fashion it was peak. Two thousand ten's in every way but the biggest moment of the event was an epic two minute commercial titled born of fire better known by its catchphrase imported from detroit as marshall eminem. Mathers drives a chrysler. Two hundred through darkly lit detroit streets and an instrumental version of his song. Lose yourself plays in the background. A gritty male voice growls. What does a town. That's been to hell and back know about the finer things in life will. I'll tell you more than most you see. It's the hottest fires that make the hardest steel and hard work and conviction and the know how that runs generations deep in every last one of us that we. That's our story now. It's probably not the one you've been reading in the papers. The one being written by folks who've never even pin here don't know what we're capable of marshall. Eminem mathers parks chrysler outside. Detroit's fox theater inside a black choir. Ads their voices to the music from the stage as marshall walks down the isle onstage. The rapper turns the cameron. Says this is the motor city and this is what we do. The what we do was clear. Detroit has always been the center of american car manufacturing. But how did the city get to the point of needing a super bowl ad to sell itself. What was the helen. Back referenced in the ad and what was the story written in the papers. It was false then. Was there a true version. Ready to be uncovered
Receivers to Target in the Late Rounds of your Dynasty Rookie Draft - burst 05
"Was drafted another god. I'm fairly high on From clemson at cal. I'll let you discuss him. I think about what rogers. I'm not nearly as high on rogers as they consis I think a lot of people saw him when he went to green bay. I think everybody's been so ready for the green bay packers to have another wide receiver inserted in the draft. You know and we're just intimidating in anticipating but you know. I really don't think amari rogers profiles is the number two wide receiver in the fact. That rogers is a situation is so up in the air to say the the to say the least you know. I am not projecting broader. You're gonna be there long term and if that's the case you know is jordan love gonna be all support a wide receiver you know. Are we even sure that amari rogers is better than allen. Lazard now is dead fund as the guy that they went out and got in free agency it to be the number to receiver going into last year before he opted out. You know he's back on the roster as well and he's only twenty seven years old. I think people are really forgetting about devin. Funchess to be honest with you You know this is a guy that has already been a top twenty wide receiver in his career. So i think there's a lot more competition in green bay than a lot of people are are are getting Giving them credit for and The roger situation really makes me uneasy. Amaury writers has some talent. I i just don't think he's anything special. I just think that he's at best a middle level starter of the nfl. And i don't see much of a window of him being much higher especially as long as davante adams is on that team. 'cause i just don't see that the target share i mean it's a. It's a team that clearly wants to run the ball as much as possible. So i'm not nearly as how marta riders. I i know a lot of people are people are taking them in mid second rounds now and i think that that's a mistake. I think he was the best of water. She would come out clemson for the tape stuff that i watch. Those are good points. There's a reason as to why. I say fairly high. It's because i have a lot of the same reservation that you do. But and i do. I'm generally concerned about aaron rodgers in the future in green bay with the quarterback situation. But i have to look back at amari rogers talent and what he did in his last year and clemson and what he did was ball out in my opinion. Seventy seven receptions. Thousand twenty yards seven touchdowns. Yes he had. Trevor lawrence thong him. The ball but still in a shortened season are very impressive. Numbers and amari. Rogers is a guy that has pretty much been undervalued this entire process and now all of a sudden he's going green bay people hiding him and i'm not high on him because he's going to green by on more high in him because of the talent and the potential that i see and i do think that he has the potential to be the number two receiver in green bay S a good gig. Because even if aaron rodgers is not there in a long term disturbance excellence head coach matt floor and they still have a quarterback enjoy jordan love and we really don't we haven't seen much from during love so we can't make a lot of assumptions. But he was still you still first round pick in an quarterback the has a lot of potential people were comparing him to patrick mahomes and he. He was more of a quarterback they just needed to be developed. So i think that. I think that there's a good chance that jordan love could turn into a successful quarterback if the packers ended up do and not Having rogers under center. So i think the during the love isn't a terrible option there and lathered and function function all could be a lot number two receiver in that office. But i think long term that amari. Rogers is the better prospect for may so that is why i tend to be a little bit higher on the mar bader's
Green Bay Packers Reach One-Year Deal With Veteran QB Blake Bortles
"Reportedly set to sign veteran quarterback Blake Bortles. He had spent his first five seasons with the Jaguars spent parts of last season with the Broncos and the Rams. This coming as the uncertainty around Aaron Rodgers remains with the Packers. Well, that seems to make it a little more real right. Yeah, For sure. I mean, I think you know, going into it. Oh, camps and O. T s and things like that. It's going with one quarterback. So, um, it's starting to feel real that the possibility of Aaron Rodgers not playing for the Packers next year. Which is pretty
Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers May Be Headed for a Divorce
Sportscaster Joe Buck to Guest Host ‘Jeopardy!’
"York Post reporting today that Fox Sports Joe Buck will be a future guest host on jeopardy. As a candidate to be the permanent successor for the late great Alex Trebek. And this means, of course, that one of Buck's competitors for that job is none other than Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Do Green Bay Packers need to recommit to Aaron Rodgers?
"Now. Some people are speculating. Maybe about this year but aaron rodgers is just being stubborn and he wants to make some more money and you might say well. Wait a minute. Rj hasn't tom brady tatis all than taking less money. Helps you win. yeah. I think so. But there's another way for the packers to gain spending power. No tom brady. Didn't care about. Robert kraft keeping the money instead of him. Not at all when he cared about was the salary cap. There's a finite amount of money you can spend and yeah you can kick the can down the road the saints showing you that but it eventually comes. Do look at big band this year and what he was due and thus the salary cap is the constraining variable. It's the thing that constrains the limiting factor. So aaron rodgers could have and the packers could have renegotiate his contract and then made it where the money that went against the cap this year got deferred some of it. But you don't get to do that for free. What happens is it takes a further commitment down the road. So you can pay aaron rodgers for two more years or three more years and if you do three you can pay them less this year at least salary cap wise. So what's the tradeoff. Want more commitment better now.
Does Aaron Rodgers Want to Be the Permanent Host of 'Jeopardy!'?
"Course, is the reigning M v P of the NFL, a Green Bay Packer and we should note a former winner of celebrity jeopardy. He's hosting this week and next. As the quiz show looks for a successor for the late Alex Trebek. Erin was great to keep prepared so intensely. That it was really a joy to watch. Mike Richards is the executive producer of Jeopardy. Fans will recall. He also guest hosted the program recently. And although they could be angling for the same job, Richard says there was no sense of competition potentially on the golf course There might be some competition. But you know my job is to make everyone who comes onto that set. As great as they can be, he says. You'll see Aaron Rodgers get better during his guest run. The quarterback already showed Grace under pressure when a contestant took the chance to poke fun at the Packers strategy in the NFC Championship game, Scott You come up the correct response who wanted to kick that field goal That is a great question should be should be correct. But unfortunately for this game today, that's incorrect. Well, the competition is intensifying because this week the actor Levar Burton of Star Trek and reading Rainbow. And roots, among other things, said he wants to host jeopardy to Mike Richards would not say whether burden is on the list, but did confirm they've talked
Will Aaron Rodgers finish his career in Green Bay?
"Good morning. Thanks for joining us. Get right to it when it comes to aaron rodgers and that whole story. So is it likely that aaron rodgers finishes his career in green bay. Or how likely is it. I would say more likely than not. He won't again. You just look at it and look how these quarterback situations have played out. Did peyton manning finish indianapolis. No tom brady finish in new england. No did the green bay packers draft a quarterback in the first round last year. Not only do they draft quarterback in the first round last year but they traded up to draft a quarterback in the first round last year and orlando roger didn't response. That was go out and win the mvp this year but again there are issues between the two sides and you heard him address it after they lost to tampa in the playoffs. And you heard address it with kenny. Mayne on sportscenter over the weekend. He certainly didn't sound like a guy who was committed to finishing his career. Green bay and. I don't think that it is all decision. That also is the decision of the organization that i emphasize traded up to go get a quarterback in the first round last year. No i don't think finish
Aaron Rodgers loves 'Jeopardy!' and wants to succeed Trebek
"Former celebrity Jeopardy champ is getting a crack it filling the big shoes left behind by Alex. Back. Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers announced back in January on the Pat McAfee show that he would be getting the chance to follow in the footsteps of his childhood idol Jeopardy. Host Alex Trebek is gonna be released here pretty soon, but I have the opportunity to one of those, Rogers becomes the latest celebrity guest host to take their turn on the iconic game show's starting a two week run this evening. The Super Bowl 45 m V P is a jeopardy champ himself, winning a celebrity episode of the show Back in 2015, beating Shark tank Judge Kevin O'Leary and future U S Senator Mark Kelly Rogers, acknowledging that he's been studying Past episodes to get a feel for how to run the game. And he actually has warned fans of a potentially viral moment in today's final Jeopardy. Man.
What Will Green Bay Do With Aaron Rodgers' Contract?
"Head of the green bay. Packers reportedly busy busy bees working on restructuring erasers contract free some face cricket so far in free agency for them. But you guys know. That's nothing new green bay brandon marshall. Air rodgers contract situation is blank. Well i got lazy. And i just went with vital. I went vital. Because you know this guy can free up a lotta money. Yeah i mean can free up a lot of money and then you can go out and get somebody you can go out and get you know maybe a casey hayward's maybe a melvin ingram. Somebody can go on and deep inside and help you out yes. One hundred percents started their green and it was it was nickel wasn't good. He got better as he went on. We used to crush them cock. But anyways i wanted to say vital naked. But what are they going to do with the money. What are they going to get a backup. Quarterback can't help you now. What are they going to do. Go get a third stream offense alignment they every offseason. Keep this whole deal in free agency. And then what they're going to do.
Dallas Cowboys Reach Multi-Year Deal With Star Quarterback Dak Prescott
"Salary cabin number for two thousand and twenty one is going to be twenty two point two million dollars all right now. Head dak prescott. In franchise tag again this will happen in a procedural sense but had to cow tried to go at this with dak prescott on the franchise tag for the two thousand and twenty one season. We've talked about this a number of times. That value would have been thirty. Seven point seven million dollars so the fact that the cow is now have him onto the books. We're talking about the value that is on the books in the books. However you want to look at the books whether they're e books or physical books whatever the case may be that value is now twenty two point two million dollars now. I know that we have all said some things about the dallas cowboys but they are not complete dummies. They surely budgeted for the franchise tag value. Because let's be honest. They came about twenty four hours. We think you know. Close to having the actually placed the franchise tag and maybe carried out with that prescott. So the cowboys have room for the franchise tag at the very least so you look at that quake matt that adam schefter was kind enough to do for you. That is fifteen point. Five million dollars that the dallas cowboys suddenly have because they've got this long term deal with that prescott. This is something that we've been saying for two years now. If you do this you can. You can kick this down the road. You can prorate it you can extended you can whatever term you want to put on it. You can spread the impact of the deal out of the signing bonus of the overall guaranteed money out over the lives of the contract so it doesn't hit you all at once. That's the one killer about the franchise tag is that it is fully and completely guaranteed in franchise tag is a one year deal so the value of it last year and dak prescott was on the tag for thirty one point. Four million dollars. The two thousand twenty dallas cowboys had to absorb that value all at once and they would have had to have done it again. Here in two thousand and twenty one but because they have adjusted that they now have fifteen and a half million dollars that they were seemingly budgeting for dak prescott that now they can apply to different areas. Maybe it is a safety. Maybe it's a defensive end. Maybe it's a defensive tackle. Maybe it's you know an offensive tackle. But they want swing tackled death whatever the case may be. We know that the cowboys obviously hold the tenth overall. Pick in the draft. They could go a number of different directions there. They wanna cornerback kayla farther patrick's retain do wanna take one of the tackles and rashawn slater as all this is. This is setting up and this is an important thing. I want you to hear me here and watch me here. You cannot waste this money. If dallas cowboys the whole point and getting this done with thac prescott besides obviously establishing having the best player on your team for the foreseeable future the point in doing this is to alleviate the salary cap space now. And i don't like the term when now if you watch us often you know that but you look state of the nfc east. It is by sudha. I mean the philadelphia. Eagles are a disaster. The new york giants doping daniel jones is legitimate. The washington football team has a great team but is void of the most important position of the game and a quarterback. Maybe they'd get somebody this cycle as we all expect quarterbacks to change teams at a higher rate than usual but the case in point is at the dallas cowboys are now. We're going to see this all day on tuesday by the way and we'll talk about it of course but they're going to be overwhelming favorites to win the nfc streit and you think about the conference that they plan is really a contender in the nfc. And i mean that with all due respect to the reigning champion tampa bay buccaneers. But you've got the bucks you've got the green bay packers and then who scares you. May maybe the rams you believe in matthew stafford but the point is thinking about the afc. I mean the. Afc has the bills and the ravens and the chiefs and the titans and the steelers and the browns. I mean you could go. A number of different ways. Did the colts have carson. Wentz ends up getting his act together and so the cowboys play in the weakest division in the weaker conference and so now they have this opportunity to really kind of take their future in the here and now they have fifteen and a half million dollars that they weren't necessarily planning on having use it and if they don't use it it is all for not so i mean we are all imploring the dallas cowboys to ultimately use this salary cap space. This is a very very very luxurious gift. That they now have been afforded that they didn't previously have so shattered of course to the dallas cowboys. Let's see here let's move. I'm i wanna talk of course about the bonus the dak prescott because well. It's stupid large. I mean it's amazing. Dak prescott has now the largest signing bonus in the nfl. You look at joe flacco. Once upon a time. Got forty million. Dollars matt ryan forty six and a half. Remember if you're on the fence about this value. We've talked about this before as well. Matt ryan became the first quarterback in nfl history to average over. He had thirty but to average at least thirty million dollars per year with his new contract that he signed with the atlanta falcons in two thousand and eighteen. That was three years ago. Dak prescott signed a four six year. Deal whatever you wanna call it. That was three years ago. They matt ryan signed that he was the first quarterback to hit the thirty million dollars a year. Mark prescott just hit forty but the reality and we've been saying this forever is that there are so many deals coming around the bend. Josh allens gotta get paid. Lamar jackson's gotta get paid. Baker mayfield's got to get paid extra calories. He's going to get paid the year after that. It's going to be time for joe burrow to finally get paid and when all of those players get paid this forty million dollars a year. Mark the dak prescott got this one hundred twenty six million dollar. Total guaranteed is sixty six million dollar signing bonus all these things that are currently the top of the nfl. The most in nfl history. That's the verbiage in determining that you're hearing associated with this and it's all literally true but it's all going to get pushed down because all of these players on this list. Joe flacco matt ryan matthew stafford at fifty million signing bonus. Aaron rodgers fifty. Seven and a half russell wilson not going to be a dallas cowboy now by the way sixty five million dollars. Dak prescott topped that all of these quarterbacks in all likelihood we'll top that that's the reality of the nfl things are always moving in one direction. It is up
Aaron Rodgers Opens Up About Engagement to Shailene Woodley
"Green bay packers quarterback. Aaron rodgers is opening up about his engagement to actress. Shailene woodley saying his next goal is to become a dad. The next great challenge will be being father. Thanks a lot of my friends are. I'm an age where a lot of my close friends from high school in college. Violators now have families of their own. The nfl mvp said he is super excited about starting a family. Maybe in immediate future but definitely sounded that. I really look forward to. It's it's gonna be a really fun. Challenge yasser said being engaged to the love of his life has brought him incredible happiness over the past year recently. Engaged so vin enjoying that part of my life. The best thing that's happened in the last year and there's been. There's been a lot of good
How to Reliably Improve Workplace Trust and Collaboration with Jill Ratliff
"One of the things that you write about. Is that the most important skills in leadership are gaining trust and knowing how to collaborate under stress. Absolutely what is it that good leaders do and stressful moments that promote trust in collaboration. We're you know. I think that The place where trust is broken and the place where we stale lead effectively is when the situation or the circumstance that we find ourselves in is greater than our capacity to maintain equity calm clarity focusing kindness right so the the root of trust and collaboration relationships right and then that ability to build them have them maintain them and to lead be able to lead in adversity. Because honestly you know when things are going well. We don't need help when things are going well. Our personalities aren't a problem when things are going well performance. Coaching is easy. So for me. Adversity is the jewel of leadership. And it's the metal that task your own leadership development and your ability to lead in those kinds of environment. I love that lane and it's where a lot of my work said okay. So you're working with a leader. The sauce has hit the fan. There's a mess and so how do you coach them to stay calm. And everything's going to be all right. I mean those are highly stressful times and okay. Sometimes people could react a little better than they do but most people aren't ready to sink combined and like you know let's toast marshmallows stuff that needs to be done. There's clean up that needs to be done and it's not about you know pointing fingers of blame but it's like hey chuck going here. So how do you counsel them when everything inside. Them is screaming white hot. Hey let's get on it and yet that emotional outburst may or may not be the best way to express themselves at that point in time. Yeah what on the the truth of it is. It never is the best way. Because and how. I counsel them as you know i start with helping people understand. It's all about energy where i meaning that at quantum physics right if you have a negative situation negative energies very strong. Right when you walk in a room and someone's upset or something's wrong or dares challenge. What does it feel like when you walk in. You know it immediately right. And even if you're in a group of people where five people are doing fine and one. It's really upset or concerned or or off. It tends to call it the other people in the room to follow that negative energy and then when we get that way literally inside our brains we lose the capacity to think clearly and to problem solve. So what you have to understand as a leader is one and this is sort of one of the key sort of foundational principles. My work is that as a leader. You came to solve problems. That's what you get paid to do. You know when you run an organization when you are promoted into management. You're basically you just got the job title problem-solver because that's what the company's paying you to do so one you have to think differently about adversity at work in problems. Because how could it be any other way I work mostly with organizations and leaders that are leading business transformation and change and i think we all know that leadership in the role of leadership in today's world is to navigate transformation and change used to have the transformation once every couple of years we'd have to say organization through now they roll one on top of another sort of constant pace of change so it's foundational skill as a leader to understand. One problems aren't the problem. They come every day all day. And it's your job to help solve them to the energy you bring into a room when there's a problem. Is everything about creating the ability to problem solve effectively with others. So if you're not able to do that and you're the leader then clearly you're gonna waste a lot of time and set back. The process of problem solving all of that is perfectly logical. Yeah makes a lot of sense powder you do. And why don't they do that. I mean why isn't that. The accepted norm instead of somebody. Exploding because and everybody you know diving under the table because we weren't taught you know think about it. How did you learn how to solve problems. What to do when things are when your situation or circumstance you're in greater than your capability you learn from your parents you know so we. We've learned by watching how the people the adults in our lives when we were young problems. And unfortunately you know. They weren't taught either so it's not a curriculum that we teach people so part of my work. I start with sort of three fundamental ways to think about work and the very first one is self mastery but you have to understand that before you can lead anyone else you have to be able to lead by example in the first place you have to be able to lead examples and adversity. So you i help people start looking at and understanding challenging moments and situations like this game on. This is where you build your leadership muscle. And i can i guess. Make the point by sharing a story about A guy named dorsey levens who the running. Back with the green bay packers. He played in two super bowls and he is a green bay packer hall of fame forty five years old and he has a mental toughness and sports utility training company. And my son who's a professional athlete His organization higher dorsey to train my son scott and after a couple of weeks of training. He said to dorothy. You should meet my mom to. You'd think so much. Like and dorsey tells the story now. I could sure i'd love to meet your mom. You know i'll work on that and he put it off and put it off and put off and then finally said georgetown. I don't think you understand. I think you really need to meet my mom. And so dorsey says later just to be nice to scotty agreed to meet me for a cup of coffee on morning and we were gonna meet from nine to nine thirty. This was his idea and at noon. We were still sitting there. And then dorsey came to work with me and what he said. Is you know as an nfl. Running back was tough. I thought i understood versi. And i thought that you know i wouldn't have survived an nfl. He goes but what you've taught me that. I didn't understand that why i was successful as a running back is because i could take a hit will keep on going. It was yards after contact. They measured my success by and the truth of it is if the defense party company and i ran straight into the end zone every time and scored nobody would share for me. And that's that we in life like as leaders and as teams that get in a foxhole together when we solve problems for our organization or for our team and we overcome like where we cheer ourselves. That's where we grow. That's where we where we build confidence so when we look at adversity or challenge of the problem. That shouldn't be happening is hilarious right in business today. How could we go through transformation. So everything into the air have competition like we've never had before have challenges in the world like we've never had before and somehow think that we're all gonna get together under that kind of pressure and not have challenged us so we have to change the whole way. We think about adversity at work and managing other people stress. When you're leader and step one is you can't begin to help people under stress if you do not understand where you hold where you fold and what i would say hannah. If it's a skill it is not a personality trait. You learn how to do it with a few simple tools and practice

Jodie Foster has something special planned for Aaron Rodgers if she wins Golden Globe

It's Jodie Foster. She was on Jimmy Kimmel. So the backstory here is Green Bay Packer quarterback Aaron Rodgers on the M V. P and he wanted, he said, Thank you to Jodie Foster, and they don't even know each other. She's a big Packers fan, right? But he said Thanks, Jodie Foster is one to recognize you. And I love that. I don't know I next time we win something we should random this pick somebody's pick. Someone shot him out like Beyonce.
"green bay packers" Discussed on Behind the Steel Curtain
"Eight to twenty seven tony with seven fifty eight to go in the game. What are you thinking at this point. The steelers are getting field. Goals getting a lot of points. It's the fourth quarter. They've led the entire game and now green bay has the advantage and it seems like they are not letting up tony to me. It was it was the same story. We have been seeing down the stretch during their five game losing streak but the defense especially the offense was fine for the most purpose defense was a sieve and it was so porous and it was the exact opposite of what you saw here before when it was a historically great defense but as i mentioned you had a troy palmolive. His outing missed nine games that year and he was such a vital part for them and and they had some other injury issues. That twenty four yard touchdown by grant was so easy and it was just it was it was concerning was alarming and and i thought all right another fourth quarter collapse but you know ben. Roethlisberger had a flair for the comeback back then and he decided that. Hey who's my playmaker. I know it's mike wallace. But who's old reliable. And it's hines ward on the very next drive. A rothlisburger to ward play gained fifty four yards but that series did stall in the steelers had to settle for jeffrey forty three yard field goal but they had the thirty two twenty eight advantage. Now here's where the head scratcher came in tony tomlin. The steelers went for the jugular. When he'd attempted of all things an onside kick. There was a surprise onside in this game. They were up thirty two twenty eight but they decided to go for it and it looked like they were going to pull it off. They recovered it but it was nullified when our boy. I taylor touched the ball. A yard short of the mandatory ten yards. I taylor one of my all time. Favorite players for the steelers he. He just misjudged it by a yard but they would have it. What do you think about that. Play tony this. This is the other surprise. Onside kick the other famous one sailor history in addition to one super bowl thirty but with dionne figures. Yeah if If i just waited another half a second and didn't panic so much and they they get the ball in the ball again. They have to lead with three fifty eight remaining but it was a really puzzling puzzling call by common. But he did say after the game. Hey did you see our defense out there. I didn't trust defense. Be quite honest with you. Hadn't even hold aaron rodgers. So that's why that's why he did that he wanted to. He wanted to put the ball back into ended into his offense his hands. But you said it right there tony than if he would have just waited one more second in. Let it go one more yard. He just misjudged it but it worked. So it's a brilliant call. Yeah it was. That's what i mean. People people get on tom and for that but the execution was the problem not to call but people people don't really remember stuff like that they just remember. How could you do that. How could you and troy aikman. And gosh joe buck they. He went on and on about that house then they were about that call so yeah people don't really they didn't really talk about the execution when it comes to play calls. Just talk about the play call. I remember loving the cau-. I thought it was brilliant at the time. I watching it again now. I thought who is a great call. But you're right it was just the execution and that's what the talking heads do. They're going to go ahead and talk about how it was a bad call when it doesn't work. I'm the kinda guy that likes to say. Hey it was a great call. It just didn't work because the player misjudged one yard. So green bay would get the ball back and that's the problem with the play like this. They get it back in good field position and a bad defense. They took advantage over the opportunity right away. James jones on a blown coverage by rookie joe burnett. There's a name from the past joe. Burnett caught the rogers pass for twenty four yards. He gallops all the way in for the score. Then they're like. Hey let's go for two points here. Brandon jackson caught the two point conversion attempt. The pack realized the thirty six to thirty lead. There's only two twelve remaining in this game. They're up by sex. What are you thinking on this point. Tony you're like man. They had the lead the whole time. This defense surrendered and again men can't get a break. I was thinking. I was watching with my aunt and girlfriend at the time and i was thinking it's going to be six in a row. They're going to be six and eight and they're done as far as even having a prayer of making the playoffs. I thought this is just two thousand. Two thousand six all over again. That's what it felt like to me. Yeah i was after a super bowl season as well Both times well interesting about that. T thousand six season. They started off two and six and ended up eight and eight. This team started off six and two and went in the other direction. But i i gotta tell you. It's after a super bowl. You have those games and you have those seasons when maybe you're completely hung over from that season and things don't happen. This season actually started off right for the steelers. They were six in two they beat brett farve and the minnesota vikings they they had. They had a really good start to that season. But how are they going to end this game. So they've got to twelve left. So ben comes on out and now with to a one to go. Ben goes to work on an eighty six yard drive but the problem he endured sacks there but then number seven finds a tiptoeing mike wallace in the end zone corner for a miraculous score with only three seconds left in the game. Now the game was tied. And has there ever been a time that you were so nervous about a one point conversion the kick after.
Chicago Bears hire former Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Mike Pettine as senior assistant
"And in football. Mike Patton is moving about four hours to the South. The former Packers Defensive coordinator is joining the Chicago Bears as a senior defensive assistant. Petting spent the last three years in Green Bay. His contract was not renewed at the end of the season.
Aaron Rodgers Engaged to Shailene Woodley
"That was quick while accepting this year's most valuable player award during saturday night. Nfl is green bay packers quarterback aaron rodgers revealed. He was engaged just days after i told you that. He and actress shailene woodley. Were dating. thank you so much. It's an honor to win this award for the third and twenty twenty was definitely a crazy year. I got engaged place in my career. Thank you so much. They've been dating. Neither is our business but you heard it. He calls her his fiancee now. He split from janika. Patrick back in july after two years of dating previously dated actress or mine If you're going. Where do i know sailing. Woodley from Big little lies as one of her. Most recent

"Was nobody on the team. That i said man i need to step it up except for again. Special teams blocking and tackling But you know the green bay helped us out a lot by just not playing really well now and i think a lot of it is. I'm spoiled in watching his team. Play so good. You know on both sides of the ball. We played an elite level or quarterback as lead our receivers early. I get mad when they dropped passes but other than that runs. Good routes get open their fight for the ball. They're doing what they need to do. They do good blocking so. I'm spoilt did watching it highly elite team and then when i watch other teams you know. I'm like oh they didn't bring their a game. It probably is there not as good as we are. Yeah fan time gotten really sports like you have so on to complain about that. During the offseason the media is coming up with all these bullshit narratives that immediately get dispelled you know the following week. 'cause there's nothing else really to complain about. They try and we tried this year all year. Long to come up with something to bring his team down. Couldn't do it every time they brought something they're not doing enough tight end passes like area will okay. Next week will throw five touchdown to tight. Anti show was like. Oh we're not gonna play action okay. Here's the next week. We'll do fifteen play actions and score on table shutout brady being hate each other think fan. This week was retweeting. People really should take november and that was one of about how someone should be fired media person. That's me they were just re tweeting opening day. Doesn't get to say. I love it. Yeah that's that's half. The fun of this season has been just rubbing salt in their wounds man because people talk crap all the way up until the bye week. Coming out of the bye week. Yeah where we started. Going on the winning streak. That's when everybody went. We stop talking crap about these kinds. Steamroller i watched or listened to the interview with sean murphy on pat mcafee and it was so interesting to hear. He's a really interesting character. He's a cool a cool gone and this really has nothing to do with what we're talking about just came to my mind. But he didn't know this but he is shameless. His cousin like i had no idea. I had known that jordan white have is drought releases. But no we gotta go back through our notes. Because i swear we said that a couple years ago but yeah i would you brought it up. I was like yeah. I didn't know that. Yeah anything about that but pat mcafee asked him about the team and it just seems like we're all like such a tight knit group and he said that you know they. They are just so tight. And they hold each other accountable. But they're like supportive of each other and they make each other better and he said the notion of tom brady into the locker room impact. Just the offense but the defense because would go to a lot of these younger guys on the defense and go. Hey you need to look at. This guy has a really interesting technique. That i think that you could including your game. Or he's just seen so much football you just such a dearth football knowledge that he's able to work with some of the young guys too and so it's pretty interesting. He they get rolled chippy with each other on offense and defense during practices. Like they all talk. Tom brady brought up an interesting point. That i didn't think about that. You know because of the corona virus. This year he has not been able to build up a bond with defensive players like he normally likes to do because they're separated. You know you can't hang out with players like you have been able to previous years. And so he hasn't been able to spend time with defensive. Units or even a lot of the offense of units so the team is not as cohesive would have been without crovitz. Now think about that next year. Almo god i mean we made it to the super bowl this year with corona virus with no off season with tom brady coming in learning a whole new offense for the first time in his career with rob gronkowski. Doing the same thing bringing it in tonio brown in and we made it to the super bowl with this man with the coronavirus and everything you these players. Not having the bonding that they're used to. What's it gonna be like next year win if all the stuff doesn't go away and they can start having dinners to gather together and bonding and spending time in each other's Rooms when they're having the defensive backs in our watching film. Tom brady comes in starts. He can't do that now. But i mean come on man we are going. We might win two super bowls back. I don't see anybody in the league. That can that's comparable to us now now. There's a full well rounded team like now with the salary cap. Come in the saints are done. I mean there. What over a hundred million over the cap. They're they're done. We're we're going to be tough spot to. I think we're going to see a lot of players take cuts to stay with this team. Picks out cuts. Jason light said the other day talking about our front office and that guy greenberg jeff. Jeff greenburg master. He's just like a master at dealing with salary cap issues and he's not. We're not gonna have a problem. i hope. Not but if the salary cap is one hundred and forty five million next year like they say it's going to be that's fifty million almost sixty million less than it is this year and so many teams are going to have to and they're going to be jettison veteran players. It's going to be horrible for the veterans that they're going to figure something out you know the league wide because they can't. They just can't do that but i think are the big canary in the coal. Mine is going to be the dominicana su. If he stays here you know he's he's been taking one year contracts right if he stays here it takes a cut. It is pay. That's going to be a huge signed. That man this team is they're gearing for another super bowl because dot com sue. He's he's a mercenary. he's ahead on her. He goes where the mind. Yes thank god for the money. And i think he's going from the more the money i think if he stays and takes a cut that's going to be a moment because he is building up you know pointed out in the podcast and on videos you know most of the young guys on defense especial defensive line. They just. They swarm around him. You know i mean. He is the de facto leader on a defensive line and if he stays to continue mentoring and being the foresee years it takes a cut. That's going to send a huge message to everybody else. You know it's gonna yeah. I'm really excited to see. Nobody won the super bowl..

"Where people would argue about that. Because the broncos version that they showed you relate. Couldn't see and i think it was on the logo on the field. So the whoever got held johnson johnson under shirt was way and so when it got pulled out it was over the the part of the white logo. So you couldn't tell that the dude had his jersey but when you looked at another angle you could see blatantly. Like his shirt was pulled out in two feet from his body funding clo- he did sell it though. Johnson like flopped pulled the soccer player. He just flop ground. And all this. But i mean there were. There was plenty of stuff that they didn't call on green bay honestly though it was a pretty clean game. Both teams did well as far as discipline. Penalties are concerned the The refs. They did a pretty decent job. I gave them see minus twelve penalties that accounted so not not too horrible and i don't think green bay what what green bay fans need to be mad about. Is their team played like crap. Now you know we talk about this on the podcast all the time. Did we win. did we lose. Did they win today. Lose a did the rap student in this game. This is just like the new orleans game. Where i'm right on the line of man you know. They pretty much lost his game. I don't wanna take it away from us. I mean our defense played great office. We played great. Bay played like craft. And i don't know how much of it is. Just were beating the mess out of teams so bad that we're making them play matt but that fourth quarter field goal decision is probably one of the dumbest coaching decisions that i've seen in the nfc championship understand that. Like even if you make the field goal you still push them. What the hell was the point of. That was tom dom. And that's what green bay fan should be mad about and also green bay didn't play that great in the first time we played them said that in my notes that we do they brought their see game and i would say that on this one to they what we were getting to aaron rodgers so good that they had to adjust their whole game and they just started throwing these quick darts quick darts. And just not really. You just couldn't sit back there and wait for these long passes downfield. We couldn't wait for the plane to develop. Now this. This game had probably the most deep balls. I've ever seen in a championship game between the both teams mommy. We were just talking down the field. They were chunking it down the field but it wasn't like they they were rogers was just sitting back there and skiing the field now. He was doing his five seven step drops and then just chocolate because we were right. There are defensive line playing white gray all the way across the board soup play. Great sue with fight with people after the place to never see that from him. I mean he was. He was chip and guys pushing aaron after the place to the couple times. Yeah he walked by here and after he got sacked and you could see was saying something to mcclendon played. Great nacho played. Great gallstone played great barrett in the j. p. v. They were just killing it. Seventy seven and seventy one. Were just getting beat. All game long it was seventy seventy seven was turner we would. We talked about whether only turned her. Billy billy turner left tackle and j just walked up on all game by the way smile. Oh yeah you got to jp jersey. Good that you rub it of listeners taste. That's what the that's what j jersey sounds like. This is what we're going to wear super bowl sunday. I'll i've got my mind nike elite. Tom brady peter jersey. Stitched nice steph. Though i feel like i'm wearing body armor so jp and they apm barrett were the keys of the game. They just they just boy offense of line they were i i sent to our. I watched the pat mcafee interview with iran's Yesterday after a yeah we watched it together was like forty five minutes of air. Rhonda's mcafee asked him at one point. He was like how you feeling. You're getting hit a lot. Air rogers was like they got a good defense man. We were just their offensive line. Had no answer to us at all in again. It was so much i want to talk about the strategy behind all this. We did the same thing where we didn't push hard until the second half and in the second half we just on leased it was like we were analyzing in seeing the weaknesses on their offensive line. Then the second half it was just it was a free for all but in the first half. We were getting to him. You know and it was almost like we weren't even trying and we were getting to them ropes but yet second half again we didn't. We were just killing it. Gotta give those guys series props and it wasn't and vida now vida excited to see him come back disappointed that he didn't do as much. But you know as vita. He didn't play bad by any stretch with imagination somewhere samsung. They said he was going to got thirty three. Yeah i was expected about twenty so that was great any any. He looked like he was in good football position. A little slow look to me like he gained weight. Although they said he he happened but he looked a little little. Love handles. were a little bit bigger hanging out jersey. but he has shrunk seymour's washed in hot water rights but he didn't dominate the way i expected him to. You didn't play by any means. But he he just he's so good he just getting that push. I would watch him in an whoever was playing opposite of him on the defensive line whether it was su mcclendon notch or whatever and not vita would get he'd be three yards in the backfield pushing his guy and whoever else was on the other side. You know they'd be yarn. Maybe or right. At the line of scrimmage this is you can't stop the guy can't stop him and you giving to three seconds. He's going to be at your quarterback while he's carrying the offensive line. It's gonna tackle you with your arms to like bear hug you..

"Today is last day january january thirty first twenty twenty one still talking about football still talking about football. We're going to the about how we are. Good don't go to the super bowl and raymond james stadium. First time that's ever happened. Homefield advantage which we talked about this. As a matter of fact we got some stuff queued up to get some receipts. The i think the day that we signed brady. We said we're going to super bowl. We're going to host it in ramey to have home field advantage for the first time in super bowl history boom. So it's gonna be interesting. Because the came to city chiefs. They play on grass field too similar to ours. So it's not gonna be that much of an advantage we're not gonna be allowed to have the cannons going off when we score. They're going to try to do everything they can to not give us home field advantage. But we're gonna have home field advantage because we're used to the field and we get to be an arnold locker room in our locker room. That's right so. I hope they put bedbugs in the visiting room and put paint everything pink and make extremely uncomfortable possible. They play Rick royal they should work role on through the whole thing plane on repeat in the locker room in the locker room everywhere. You know. i'm of two minds of that. Psychologically do you wanna make the opponents locker room extremely miserable or do you wanna make it extremely comfortable because if you make very comfortable then they're going to want to go back in the locker room you know they're going to be because you know if it's comfortable and then they go out the harsh conditions a lot worse than if it's harsh conditions and go out to not as harsh so well. Somebody put up the weather forecast and it was forecast to me like seventy six degrees on neck. It's snowing where we live. I know six degrees east. What is wrong with the weather man. I know kids. The city gets cold and they get snow so it's going to be like vacation for them. It's local be a vacation when they get there but team. I hope that they enjoy the local all spots before i get to strip clubs komo now work. I mean. give a discount to kim city player. Whatever you tickets. Yeah but they have tickets and strip club. I don't know never ever those up we've got a good show for you today No checks followups. Do we molly okay. Perfect bat thousand again. We're going gonna discuss mainly we're going to discuss. Discuss the nfc championship game. Went through all twenty twos. We're gonna talk about that a little bit. We're going to avoid talking about the super bowl. You know too much because we wanna do a full series of shows on apps and we're going to try to retain as much as possible not let everything out of the bag all at once wanting to the teeth anyway. So it's kind of fresh on my mind. Woke up while he texts me for safety. Take me watching. Takeda buffalo game well and i had already had a cup of coffee so kicked in. I was ready to go have full conversations. Ralph is still dragging out not running. She was just. I love coffee yet. The buffalo game of so weird. We didn't talk about this but we're we're at the bar. There was like twenty buffalo fans that came in for the after game and me molly. We were a little tipsy. And a little cocky. I think a lot lot tipsy. And i was like trying to be friend the buffalo fans. You know i'm like. I want you all to win so the tom brady can beach allegations. I know y'all been hate for twenty years. It just be nice for us to be on the super bowl for the fifth time and those people they were the most oppressed group of fans. I've ever seen it was. It was ever like zombies and and the like no. I contact the first quarter so they weren't losing yet. Yeah well even before the game started. I was talking to a couple of them and they were just so down in depressed. I was like what are you. You're in the chairmanship ship be happier. They were just to let us sad sad fan base when we should've stayed there for the whole game. 'cause i watch them. The salt mining would have been like cleveland fans get beat up findings kind of like. Oh feel sorry. I know who doesn't it added. We got some news to we want to cover news first and we want to go over the green bay game Let's go ahead and go over the game wall cap it off with some news. Okay if you haven't had a chance to check it out. I got the things. I found interesting. Videos up tiffany's check them out on youtube. It's only two parter. Which kind of surprised me. I thought it'd be a little bit more stuff to point out. Of course. I don't point out everything i found interesting. I probably about three quarters. Maybe half of the stuff you know because some of the things. I find interesting. I don't think anybody else find interesting. Like i definitely don't put all penalties in their uncalled penalties. Thank thing this game that all agreed fans were screaming about which you know. If i'm thinking about it. I would have screamed about that too just so we'd have an excuse as to why we lost. Well they were wrong. I mean it's yeah. There was some penalties that we did that. They should've called but there was much more penalties on their part that they can get called the the chris otten i had candidate as a dropped pass but after reviewing it he got hit in his arms. It was it was deep. Bombed down the sideline the right sideline and the defender hit is our before the ball got there knocked his arms down. I mean it wasn't like extremely blatant like he did it like seconds before he got there but it was definitely. You could see it and chris. Goblins couldn't couldn't lift his arms up to catch the ball because the defender had his arm draped and there was a referee standing five feet away staring at them. I don't how he didn't call that. But i like the way the refs or calling in the playoffs. They're always much more hands off. Let the guys play. And they're doing a pretty decent job with it this year. But you know there's some some place where you just come onto you know but there was the third down play in the fourth quarter when needed to stop us and they got called for defensive. Pass interference. I was definitely. I mean the guy was feeling.

"Postseason and Sex settle six six and three of them for us so half the interceptions in almost half the sacks their whole season are from manson like enemies. Yes so you you. Everybody watching these games. That were really haven't followed. The buccaneers are thinking. Oh you know. Tom brady mike evans. Antonio brown cronk hausky. But that's not what's been winning us. These playoff games been our defense. So i think you're right. People are gonna watch this. It'd be holy cramp. Who were these guys you. Their defense is a really good You know and it's good. Because i don't want us to win the super bowl and every set. Everybody say all was because of tom. Brady you know. I mean it. Tom brady is a huge factor in it was wrong but his defense is good in our hall. Offensive line is get. Our run game is good. I was he was a good. We've got a good team so well rounded teams and it's not even you know it's not the main players on special teams. That are actually quite good. I mean bradley. Pinon stylish socks presence solid. We finally kicker and we broke. That matt ryan merce. It's kind of the other guys in the trenches so for the liability to be like that far now. Great and i was thinking about that. It's perplexing meal years to why are special teams kicking pont tackling blocking has been. Not you know It leased average. It's a little blow. Arizona only part of our team where you were not above average and i think it's because bradley painting is so good at kicking. It do the enzyme that they just don't practice tackle a lot on spent on kickoff town. Yeah they're just like what he's not going to in. That's what new orleans dead with his name. Devante devante harris harris. He would catch the ball. Five six seven yards deep in the end zone. Run out so if they do that. But i think in this game they. We didn't have a single kickout. Kickoff return the the packers we had like one hundred yard kickoff couple of So you know like you said if that's if that's the worst the weak link on your team is that the second stringers on special teams. Don't give enough effort. Yeah and it. And it's not the thing is that the effort hasn't there but it's just you know it's not a a A primary thing to spend a lot of energy on yeah. I'm real excited about it to the chiefs it's going to be. It's going to be extremely interesting to see what todd bowles. Dow's up against them because he has every game in defense dialed up. You know a different defense that we played all year long again on this one. We didn't drop any of our outside linebackers in the thing. I mean we might have added. Say that actually i did see. It wasn't o'connor nelson saw a drop back in coverage but bear it. I don't i don't recall seeing him we. We didn't do it a lot if we did do it. Seems like we stuck with a lot of man coverage again. So i dunno. I'm really excited all right. We're at an hour. We could sit here and talk about this all day long. But we're gonna try to save some. We're really low energy today and happier the last time. I'm not distracted this time. So i was like okay. Let's get asking us to upload the drunk want this time and you know. We kinda mitigate that by noddy owner according lines. Well i wanted to. But the game came on reticence. We got home. So i was like we gotta watch this game and then by the time the games are we were just like the busy dips are batman because that would have been good where we were. We were three sheets to the wind cable and immediately got on the couch bundled up and ate the rest of her bar food. She loves martha and like later tonight. I'm like hey. Did we bring the leftovers home. She was like yeah eat. Some of it. I go in there. There was one born cheese stick and one hot wings. Didn't even yeah. You didn't even eat any of the highway. I was like. Why did you leave. This pissed me off the tees man all right. Yeah so so. We're not getting divorced. We're still together and a. We're very happy about the buccaneers. Go super bowl as well as all the buccaneer fans are. Gosh we're gonna get so many fans it's going to be great and we. We preach about this and we haven't done it as much lately. But you know the the reason why you want a big fan base is because then you get more primetime games you know you get more viewership you get you get more attention in the national media and all that good stuff because we look at dallas cowboys dallas cowboys suck for a decade and third still getting prime time games. Yeah yeah and uh you get players at wanna come to teams that have large fan bases and all that stuff so it helps out. It's it's it's it's vital to have a big active fan. So i'm really excited that we're going to show up in super bowl and just gather more fans you know you know people that watched that game last night that were not fans of team or we're looking for a team dirt buccaneer fans now because avalanche gray performance buys manson gray catches a great runs of great defense. Good tag tagolu. Aaron rodgers is aaron rodgers. Hang love it all right. We're going to wrap this up while you got anything else. Say okay gotta the kansas city chiefs coming up We got a lot of podcast between now and they're gonna kick out videos You know what. I get all twenty two out of the way. I'll be free to delve into some fun stuff that we don't normally do so that'll be interesting excited about it. Two weeks man two weeks long two weeks all right. It's the next time guys..

"Twenty twenty one. We are going to the super ball. Surreal is insane. There's that intro apropos. You know it is. We have one goal in. It's to put a ring on our finger. We're going to do it. Someone commented on whatever has about a how one of us is always super excited during the charm and one is not. I'm just gonna say it's not that i'm not excited as because i have no rhythm and and that's yes it normally what's that i don't dance. She does jessica rhythm or our kids can keep time with anything but molly can't at all. It's very very strange so she can't listen as well as things. You can't listen to anything in a delay and also she can't listen. You can't listen to music without hearing the lyrics to like you can't focus out the lyrics. Oh yeah like on one instrument Right yeah you can't do that very strange anyhow. What a intro. That was. We are extremely hung over. Everyone who. I was all like worse than last like white last week ever. Yeah yeah the tomorrow. We'll be i'm exhausted. I am just exhausted. I was so amped yesterday. We were so nervous before the game. You know we was close to the point of throwing up and we get there in a game started. It was so much energy. I'm payson ser. So i had the whole back end at a bar but i just walked back and forth back and forth probably got three miles of stepping in took more took must step and chatter. I was not nervous until i got on twitter and had to read all you. Mother fuckers nervous and yummy nervous. I was. I was fine until on twitter early thirty minutes before the game and then i was freaking out. Yeah we did. A lot of drinking tequila shots next for a super bowl. We gonna do crown. That's his drink round oil crowning coke. So that's what. I'm drinking from super all and maybe we'll need some shots while say we suggest everybody drink crown and karaoke next weekend for the weekend after next two weeks. Two weeks thirteen days. Man is going to be a crazy thirteen days. I'm wearing my forty seven. John lynch jersey in respect for the previous buccaneer winning team. I think i've got quite a few jerseys from that team and adult. I don't wear them that often anymore. I moved on to more current players and stop. So i'm gonna. I'm gonna rock old school jerseys for this week. Probably and i'm wearing my pewter tampa bay. Tom brady jersey for the super i think. Are you gonna wear your jason pierre. Paul jersey remiss. That's so nice. Made that he rocket out helmet barrett. And you know. I wanted to say this because you know. I love getting receipts. I wanted to say this in our preview that barrett and jp. We're going to have a great game. You just knew it. Yeah well with vida back and you know what i told you that right after we did the podcast i said man. I didn't say anything about barrett. And they did man. They showed a bear. It was just about every play. He was getting to brady couple times. He he got right at one. Time even hit his arm causing eric. Pass got three sacks tape got to. I mean vida joke on the stat sheet at all but he was so impactful anyway it so much fun watch. Every time he was in there. I was just watching him. And he just dominates lineman just dominates them. They're just totally unprepared And you know our defense stepped off. Man stepped it up. We yeah at the beginning of the year before the season started we were. His defense is going to be the best of bosnian. You know the first half of the year killing it and then it went after beat out and here during the playoffs even without beat them and they have been on fire washington game. Not too much you know but that was. I think that was a lot to do with you. Know we didn't have a game film on heineke and he just played an excellent game so he actually played a better game than drew brees. And a-rod both. Yeah a crazies. That yeah i think we. I think we 'cause aaron rodgers to think about retirement. Oh my gosh. That post game press conference was so depressed with them. Yeah i mean he looked down. He looked down. He just and i mean you emotional right after a game like this in a loss like this but i mean he was like i need to take some time away and think about things that you're sitting the whole thing. He kept yelling at me. Aaron rodgers could retire. I also would not be shocked. Becomes back you know it. It's just an emotional thing but just for him to be considering it at all. I think it's kind of a big tell. Lot of people. were talking about the penalties. You know that we. The salty packers fans on twitter was talking about penalties and actually runner cincinnati in his press conference. So the rudders. They are right to a degree. The refs really let the guys play. They didn't we. We had two penalties on us. One sue offsides another one. Smb got a personal foul for learners helmet which i just hate that rule it so again. It's another one of those objective rules or subjective rules where sometimes it has no and but that but other than that we didn't have any other penalties and that didn't happen until the second half way they hadn't thrown a single flag until the second half penalties for eleven yards or something and they have four for thirty so yeah very clean very clean gay but the refs did let a lot of stuff slot was holding. We saw plenty of holding. Saw a false starts that they didn't call both on us and on the packers. I saw some defensive pass. Interference call Intentional grounding on rogers didn't call of course. Oh man i yell at the bar like that wasn't edge. No grounding in the pocket right out of the enzyme can't do that A face mask..

"He had just gotten their right to. So he was a free agent and he signed with Seattle and then via got hurt he with Seattle's practice squad because basically he's on the practice squad to get in football shape it's not like he's staying there. But instead of eating up a roster spot, Seattle's keep on the practice squad and then the buck said, hey, you know we we don't we need you. You don't have to get in football shape if you don't want to. Play shape you're right now off. This role, this role towards the quarterbacks Nike snacks But yeah, he said, no, he's like no I like where am and I'm GonNa stay which is something that you know like snacks when he may be eligible for the practice squad except for this year, right? Right. So it's just something you know as fans you're not used to seeing where it's like, Hey, you wanna come play for NFL roster. Making grand a week like. You can come over here for three weeks minimum and make fifty six, grand a week, right? No, no, no, I'm good these. Twenty four grand for one, hundred, and fifty. Grand. Exactly. I I don't know I even with with having the career that you know these guys have in banking up to have I'd I'd have a hard time without I really would Oh, to talk about how much you know it is like you said, it's all about how much money you have and. It is. It really is because I remember I. Think I was in high school I you the Bill Gates story reporter in the ranch you have told me but you have not told her listeners now that you've said it you gotta say it. So go ahead. Okay This was back in high school. When Microsoft, I hit it big and Bill Gates Bill Gates and he wasn't quite as richly is now but he was very very rich and he bought this big ranch in Montana and he paid over market value whatever that was we'll say like it was worth. Three point two million dollars and he paid like eight point, four million dollars and the reporters charted. You know rhythm him going Oh. Great. GonNa pay like three times. You know the going rate and Bill Gates looks down he goes that's like couch change to me, and then he just told the guys like I set this guy up for life him and his family for generations. You know I'm doing this guy a favor. I'm being a nice guy and you're sitting here calling me a dumb dumb. You know like like that couple of billion dollars is going to meet a lot more of that guy than it does to me. That's kind of what is with snacks for you and me like twenty, four grand. That's you know I'll take it one, hundred and fifty. Grand Oh. Yeah. Definitely. Take that. What are you have to do? I have to move for three weeks? Yes. Like Sleeping Hotel be fine I'll sleep in my car like. For, three weeks sleeping my car for three weeks. One hundred and fifty grand. Yeah. So you know it's all about which got apparently just see you guys know this is the buccaneers are not the only team that snack that has reached out to him, and they are not the only team he has rebuffed guy. Worried. But one of those teams that did reach out to him was the Green Bay packers who the Tampa Bay, buccaneers obviously are facing tomorrow. Sunday, whatever what are you guys listening to? This will be tomorrow. So and you're listening to it now rights which hello to everybody who is listening to a now. Let's see here. Hey, Ren We finally got an update on a guy named Justin. Evans yes. Yes. I did I ask I, watched it live for those who are not watching the video podcast. I am putting the word updates in air quotes. Now. Earlier I did a paraphrase today. I. Would like to in this particular case. I would like to quote be A. Okay. We think he's getting better hasn't done any well, he's running a little bit that's it. Can. You say something had been tricky he said it's funny is Justin Evans. Injury is funny. It's like it's a funny one. We thank getting better. We think he's getting better. He hasn't done any. Well, he started running a little bit. That's your update folk update guys. So everybody other who continues to ask about Justin Evans. That's it which no one does anywhere. No one cares anymore now that will feel as soon as they can let them go. They're probably gonNA cut them right. I don't know. I think they'd like to keep them around and as long as it's not messing up the CAP I. Fine with that but you know you might be right. You know it's just one of those things where they have to wait till he's not injured and then cut him but no one cares anymore because winfield came out and was having a great rookie year. So in Whitehead's doing good enough but let me ask you this that could change by the end of the year. Let me ask you this Cheryl. Remote Winfield. There's Whitehead. Yes. Mike Edwards. Indra on all the other guys if Justin Evans could come back to the health in the in the play that he gave us before he got injured right who would you rather have playing opposite of Antoine? Winfield would it be just in Justin Evans or do you like one of these other guys better? Gosh. It's keeping migrants in been football since October twenty eighteen Gavin I can't quantify that someone's going to act like like he directly what he was when he let..

"Matt Mimics bengals. Chalk talk here on. Orange and black insider Today I got a great guest Retired director of research and development for the Green Bay packers. Mike Ayers. How're you doing today? Masseurs doing fantastic Matt. All right. Great I really appreciate you coming on First off. I'm ready to ask for the abbreviated version because I'm sure director research and development for an NFL team You involves a lot but Just a real quick break down what What type of work were you doing for the packers On on an everyday basis well essentially my job was to incorporate a scientific viewpoint into football operations and what that entailed is just simply analyzing data trying to find out if there any significant trends in the information. And then using that and getting that information into the hands of our decision makers in whatever context and you'll play callers Scouts coaches players. Whatever so that essentially essentially it would improve the quality of the decisions they made to help. Our organization creates success. All right and so I think right now. We're kind of in a in a big phase kind of the dawn of analytics in the NFL But analysts become a becoming a much. More I don't want to see how much bigger part of the NFL. Because I think it's always been pretty big part of the NFL. But I think it's a lot more out there I think. More people are aware of it and And can kind of be a little bit more critical decisions based on research out there and known From from From different avenues different organizations. That are out there so You're you're kind of on the on the forefront of that and the NFL before the rest of us even even with that was they want him getting from you. That's correct basically. I was hired by the Vikings back in one thousand nine hundred eighty five to be a director of research and development and again. I was actually the third person that the vikings hired I had to predecessor says. He came into the building in the early eighties. I doing them in the mid eighty and you know analytics in one form or another has been around a long time simply because it had different names you know obviously research director and even when I was a player you know way back in the seventies we always talked about tendencies and probabilities and game plan. You know you could always kind of play a hunch if you watch a lot and I'm old enough to where I could even say when you're watching film rather than watching video but you would see things you know. And it's the most fundamental thing in human behavior that is whatever creates success is generally going to be replicated in future situations. So you know. Football's a great team to analyze. Because it's an here's great soundbite. Point football is a game of dependent decisions in other words almost every decision. That's made the course of a game or in the course of a draft choice or whatever he essentially is triggered by events that preceded. So if you can identify the chain you can probably often predict what's going to occur next and it works out real. Well it's a matter of fact there's only one true independent decision in entire on TV. Guess what it is because it's the only time yeah acquaintance from the time. The coin is tossed every decision following. That is actually a dependent decision and we used to analyze coin tosses. Believe it or not because we were talking you know some teams wanted a for some teams want to take the ball It varies whether your home or on the road at varies by environmental situations social so again you know which would analytics really is. It's a new word that basically describes the old word tendencies improbability. All you're trying to do is use. What's occurred previously to try to help you. Determine what's going to occur next absolutely and anybody. Anybody coach into any levels Been breaking down tendencies for years so now the the packers are are noted And for for being similar to the Bengals In the way they approach team building And you know being about building through the draft and drafting players Who you know the ultimate look to to bring in for a second contract So that is something that when the Bengals have had some bad years and You know in pets and bad draft which is you know obviously related there People have been critical of Can you talk a little bit about You know what? The connection is between the draft creativity in in trades In in overall process of of how to build a team sure well again when I was with the packers. We are a very much more so even than they are now very college draft. Reliant team and our reasoning for that was primarily to full number one. We fell more than anything. We're in the business of trying to create a culture and the best way to create a culture is to try to create stability and the best way to create stability is with the college draft because he essentially when you draft player or you sign a college free agent essentially retained the rights on that player for the first four years of their career. Or you have the option for the first five years if it's a first round draft pick so it gives you time to essentially develop talent and then the second reason why it becomes such a good thing is number one you want to create a culture that having the same players there regularly but secondly it's also a very economical way to build a team because again you retain the players players in their initial contract and even anytime soon their second contract. Are you know fairly reasonably priced relative to the CAP? The problem is when you go into unrestricted free agency. In Pro Free Agency is you're bidding against usually a nucleus of maybe a dozen other teams. That are trying to acquire the same player. And so you're subject to the laws of supply and demand it drives the salary upwards that you can use pro free agency to solve a need on your roster but the problem is almost always going to wind up paying more than if you were able to draft and develop to try to fill the same need and so it's just it just made economic sense because it allows you greater flexibility to resign. The players drafted if you got the original guys and you know you guessed right and signed him to their second contract. Basically you've created even more stability within your franchise and we felt. It was just the best way to build a team. We occasionally went into pro free agency to feel you know glaring immediate needs and the packers have gotten more aggressive in the last couple of years but I really believe the heart of it. All is the culture you create your locker room and the best way to create stability and culture is with the college draft. What do you say that You know from a front office standpoint you particularly the GM To to build a team like that get to have a lot of. Let's see honesty like being honest with yourself in your real you know truthful evaluation like Hey I want this guy to be successful. I want to think that we made the right choice in this guy And then two people to look at a guy for years later and be like no. This isn't a guy were given a second contract to you. I mean I is that something to kind of put Your Eagles Ego aside a little bit Face the facts unless things well. Honesty is a huge part of success. Probably in any organization. 'cause you you know you need to essentially keep your finger on the pulse of reality and I agree. I mean one of the things that we did as part of our culture is we had a relatively relatively the other NFL teams. You're in a year out. We were one of the youngest teams in the League in terms of the players on our roster and we really believed heavily in not just the draft but college free agents because one of the things that we did to help recruit college free agents to the packers is simply show them the numbers on our roster and that is every year we felt we were GONNA wind up keeping four or five college free agents guys that never got drafted but we're going to seriously evaluate and in some cases. We kept them instead of keeping draft choices. Because at the end of the day the culture we wanted to create is the best fifty three players are on your football team and then even to a degree transcends positions because we did not position differentiate our roster. We had years where we kept three fullbacks. We had a year where we kept five tight ends because essentially we were trying to fill all the rules to win a game and we felt like keeping those people. It simply gave us the best chance to win. Yeah I think there's probably divisions in the NFL right now that don't have three fullbacks but but again talking back now going to. I think it was the two thousand I believe. Two thousand six roster that might have had the threefold exponential. Yeah yeah the Larry Centers and Brian Mitchell type survived but you're not finding very many Moose. Johnston high everything is trend. Right it absence lawyer and the new trend based on how the forty niners used the fullback position is all of a sudden. It may come into a renaissance and people decide. Yeah your fullback probably would do more good on a roster than maybe a fourth died Internet even a third time. Yeah absolutely so now getting into the draft. Obviously that's the thing that's most pressing on people's minds right now and Win How how exactly do you put together a draft board and again? I know we're not GONNA be able to get into all the details today but you know kind of what the basic format and set up a of a of a draft for sure well draft board essentially is a table or a matrix that simply consists of columns and rows right and in the case of our draft board. It consisted of eight large roles where each will contain multiple players or could potentially contain multiple players and there was a role for each round of the draft and then there was a role for college free agents that we felt had a chance to make our roster and could fit into our system so role one is round one right and then essentially the most upper tier players in the entire draft class. Sit at the very top of the role and that was devoted to guys capable of controlling a game or projected to become very very dominant players. And then you know. It fell into line behind them then. There was a clear demarcation of players that were draftable in round two and this was a consensus greed based on the entire personnel and coaching staff and medical staff to. I don't WanNa undersell them because you see clearly. They durability becomes a huge factor in all this as.

You love it immediately. She's talking about race as always. Everything's about raise content to remain main the margins of Princeton's larger social scene Blob was small but tight. And wow is this remedy I mean are you feeling it. She's reading like I've never heard read. We threw parties danced half the night. Not Unlike the long communal meals my family's to have around the table at southside house. How Fun I imagine that? The administrators at Princeton didn't love the fact that students of colored largely stuck together boy. Why was that hope? was that all of us would mingle in heterogeneous harmony. But you do need the quality of student life across the board. It's a worthy goal right. I understand that when it comes to campus diversity goal get this though ideal would eat something resembling. Are you kidding. Me still outnumber them do you know. Here's another fact. They still outnumber them in the general population as well Nazih racist by about five to one so i. I don't know why there'd be more whites than blacks. Well I'm in your college like Michelle Obama. I personally don't see color. So I know if whites outnumber blacks on this campus. Yeah well she does boy. She takes note of that every day. Percents what a dumb observation. That whites outnumber minorities will still still. Yeah 'cause worse still more. Numerous than minorities burden simulation is put largely early on the shoulders of minority. Students is talking about who expects no. Shouldn't you just do it naturally. Then he complains about raising the housing. We were supposed to get together man right. No it's unbelievable stuff. It's really unbelievable. But but it's an incredible reading and she's GonNa win the grammy why I listened to some of it. There was there's one point when she says I can't elect Michelle but would she reads the word preface. "I think they have issues even with him. I think it's kind of been absolutely do because he's the only guy they have yeah in like I mean against Philli. They destroyed them in through the air but it's because phillies secondary's garbage but like the first three weeks you know we are Kinda like this. Packers offenses awful you know like they couldn't move the football because it's almost like you take Davante Adams away. They can't run the football whatsoever. Aaron Jones is averaging three and a half yards per carry combined through the last two or three games. I want to say it's just they can't run the football. They're they're really only option of moving. The football is through the air to Davante Adams or Aaron Rodgers running. If you take devante Adams out it's just I don't even know where to begin but I don't know I mean again. It's just for whatever reason Aaron Rodgers and at and T. stadium is a tough tough with quarterback to defend the one way to defend it is to get pressure on him but without giving him running lanes to escape from and that's all I wanNA talk about next. You Got Robert Quinn. You've got me Collins. You've got markets Lawrence. You're getting Antoine Woods back who isn't known for his pass rush but he is a clock a clog up in that defense align. The packers also have two very good tackles and Brian Blaga and David Backyard. Do you think the cowboys pass rush can have a game similar to what they had last last week against the saints or do you think they'll be a little bit more quiet throughout this game. I would be lying if I didn't say hey that I'm GONNA be watching David Yari against Oh wow Robert Robert Quinn. Why couldn't I think of his name I'm going to be watching that the entire game. I don't care about anything else on defense whatsoever he he really impressed me last week and David Bahktiar is probably the best left tackle in the NFL at this point consistently insistently. I mean obviously you guys like tyran. Smith who is is definitely up there but with the back injuries you can't really count on all all of the time to be that elite level not elite butcher best player in the position so I'm really interested to see what happens on the left side of that offense it's of line and then on the right side like you said they do add Balogh who is injured somewhat in this game so I am interested to see if they help out on that side quite a bit and still give him a double team help against demarcus Lawrence in this game on the interior on that. I'm really excited to see is is Maliki Collins going to be able to be left guard Elton Jenkins who is played really well for them so far he was a really good player coming out as a rookie cookie and then guys like Corey Lansley and Billy Turner. That's where you've got to make your money if you're going to be mulling collins so we'll see what happens I mean hopefully he's able to get a little bit of interior pressure because that is what kills good quarterbacks. Good quarterbacks can take care of pressure off of the edge by miss by escaping the the way that the position works when you're an ED's rusher you have escape routes. I mean you're able either if you go up. Er you're able to step up and step through as a quarterback or if you come down hill something intact Prescott has done really well in his first couple years as a quarterback is spin out of those pressures rushers. There's you have that ability to do that. You know where there's nowhere to go. If you get pressure up the middle and Aaron Rodgers literally probably the most yeah he's Houdini Yep Yep like he like you'll have any it's not even like the players to where you know. You're hitting your you're hitting him and then Asia spins out like you see Dak and Carson Wentz even make some of those places where God's got them wrapped up and he just spends out of it but you like you close does the pocket and you see him start dropping his eyes and like panicking and then he just bought a twenty five yard gain and you're like how does it even happen. Mike doesn't make any sense but that's that's one thing. They're going to have to be very very aware of in this game is not leaving him run lanes to get out of when they do bring pressure on third downs and you you have those you know edge guys. The Robber Quinn's who who rush of field a lot. He's gotTa you know they have to be aware that Robert Quinn rush plan is to get upfield and when was speed well that normally only leaves a little bit of a gap right there in the you know the be gaps on on the other side of the guard so you know that's just an issue that they are going to have to either you know make sure you have a spy on them. I don't know how you want to defend that but that's something that they're going to have to look at doing all right. We got to wrap this thing up. We're going to go through. We're going to give our predictions predictions. We're going to give her x factor players for this game. I we're GONNA start with Coles since he couldn't join us. He texted us it it in Kohl's prediction for this Sunday game cowboys cowboys packers at Mt. At and T. stadium he has the cowboys winning twenty three to twenty. He said he thinks that offense gets things going again and Dacca's has announced back game. The defense gets a big stop near the end of the game to secure the win. Don't know maternity unit now. What are you have is your prediction? Who Do you have is your x-factor and you have any big plays in this game that you think kind of turn the outcome so I have issues with this game because because I do think the cowboys should be able to run the football well against them? It's the receivers now I would. I love to be able to do this podcast on Thursday Friday and know a little bit more about Michael Gallup's health because I do believe that that is a huge huge aged deciding factor in halas games going to shake out in the passing game specifically but I think I'm going to have to go with a the lower scoring game in this one comparatively to what I've seen happening throughout the year so far I think it's going to be twenty two seventeen and I think that the Green Bay packers are going to be the cowboys this week in Jerry World World now. I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing my hope is that the packers packers if the cowboys don't get home field advantage in the NFC that the packers do because I think at Lambeau in Lambo in December in a one to matchup hopefully the cowboys are going to be able to impose their will in the running game and they will not not be able to throw the football against the cowboys. I would rather face them inland low in December men at home because I think our runs a rushing attack attack is that much better than what they're able to give us so packers win this game and I don't necessarily think that that's a bad thing interesting. Take I know super on fake but that's how I feel. I hope the cowboys went ever game no for sure I think the cowboys won this one thirty twenty six. I think the offense gets back on track. I think that they realize and I think it's going to be Jerry Jones driven. I think think Jerry is GONNA put his foot down and go. We're not turning to Scotland a hand to lose this season like we've done in the past. We are going to live and die by the pass. I don't care if it says we need to run. We're going to be smart but if we're not going to check in and out Iran's we are going to be an aggressive down the field passing attack weekend and week out. I think that that is going to be Jerry. Jones driven thing here. I think Jerry likes the offense he likes talk about how new and improved this offense look and I think he was very very disappointed in the performance from his offense last week and I think that's going to change. I think the cowboys thirty to twenty six on my ex factor factor player is going to be Xavier Woods. I think he comes through with his first interception of the game. Rogers has had a tendency to kind of turn. The ball turnovers turnovers are up by a lot but but he's thrown the ball to the defense more than he has in previous years. I think is gonNA come up with with with multiple turnovers. I think he's going to have an interception and then a fourth fumble as well on Aaron Rodgers and I think that's going to be different difference in the game. It's the cowboys capitalizing on those turnovers. He's having a good passing attack and being able to run the football a little bit as well. I think it's going to be a similar game to what the the packers did last week with philly where it was close on throughout most of the game and then the cowboys running attack just eventually takes over in the fourth quarter as much as that pains me to say I think that it could be a a situation where they are efficient on the ground and they do move the ball with these in that it that it makes sense for him to run the football so Kohl's cowboys winning. I got the cowboys won and got the cowboys loosen then but with a with a with a positive out spin on it. I guess you could say because he thinks that's the good stuff that's right well. That's all we got offer tonight. Guys thanks for hanging out with this. We're talking the star as always we will be back next week to talk about the cowboys game against the packers and then prepare you for the New York jets in week six. We are talking to star. I'm connor lives on thought Miller. We were all Coal Patterson earlier hosted by blowing the boys. Thank.

"NFL draft at Daunton be Miller color and act coal l Patterson. We are talking star Pie cashing. We're here to talk Dallas Cowboys Football. Do you guys that day. The cowboys are coming off a tough twelve ten loss. The New Orleans Saints on the road last Sunday. We're going to touch on that a little bit first before we get into the cowboys a week five game against the Green Bay packers. It's coming up this Sunday it as well but first we want to talk a little bit about the cowboys loss to the saints we're just GonNa go through each position group and give a grade on how those guys did give a brief description of why we gave that great some of the things you'd like some things we didn't like our. We're GONNA try to move on from this game as quickly as easily as possible but we do WanNa touch on a little bit before we get to that guys how y'all doing tonight pretty. Well can't complain yeah. I mean I'm trolling. Chicago Bears Fan right now so I'm I'm having on a really good time time. That's gotta be it's gotTa be a lot of fun modifying their guys get into this and try to move on quickly. The painful is less painful as possible but we gotta talk about this. One cowboys dropped Sunday night football game last week against the saints twelve ten loss loss good team and a tough loss and we want to talk about it again. We're going to go through each position group. We're GONNA talk about how we're going to give great and talk about why we give that great. I'm going to start off with the quarterback position Dak Prescott Cole. How would you grade his performance in that game? Give me an eighth grade A. B. and greet f being absolutely terrible and why why you gave that great yeah I would just I think I'll go with his C- for Dako on Anapa boy. I think I'm GonNa go a guy just because he really do anything terrible. You can't give him a worst grade but he didn't do anything amazing in either not all on him. Somebody aren't him missing. It's called but not all of it is on him so I think just right in the middle. It was an average average game for him. He always a good things better yet that touchdown. Maybe the outlook changes maybe some place here go your way within rollicking. We're talking about drastically different game by just go at the We've seen play battery sending play worse but Sunday night he I guess he he made that really really good. Throw unknowable strive to Randall Cobb but other than that there was one playwright wow that was a really good play in like I said the same defended them very very impressively new sometimes. You can't really do anything about not that size give him a week four dot mortgage your grade on the cowboys quarterback and they're getting to the passing game but just specifically typically the quarterback yes so I mean I think I'm GonNa give him as well. maybe a C plus. There were a couple of things in this the game especially against pressure that I really did like a but for me. The some of the mistakes aches that he made cost the team in a big way now this lawsuit this loss over all is definitely not dot Prescott Fault never definitely definitely other issues with it but he did. He is one of the biggest reasons why there were so many I down runs because they were getting looks where he you're always given a run play in a pass play when you come in and he was getting looks to go run on first astound. We just need to get oil on analytics and once we do that then we'll be good to go. We'll be throwing seventy percent of the time downing. I hate to be that guy but I'm GONNA have to go with the C. Two so we're going to see across the board like you guys said you know I think you could point out three to four throws in that game and go while those there's some of the better throws that we've seen from him so far this year in which you can say an MVP candidate year and then there's three or four poster that game we go man if he makes that play a few changes to call if he does this and that then it's probably a different outcome of game but again like what do you guys said. I can't remember who said it but some of that's on him. Am some that's on the scheme the play calling and and it's something that they're going to have to improve going forward. I'M GONNA turn to the running back group now. Tony Pollard only saw who snaps so it's pretty much zeke Elliott grade. I'M GONNA I'M GONNA HAVE TO GIVE IT A. I'M GONNA have to give it a B minus. I thought the running back the position couldn't have done much more to help your grade. The blocking was a very good and that's something we'll get through here in a little bit but I think you know Kinda kind of got what was there maybe could have broken a few tackles here and there but there wasn't a whole lot of room to run didn't give him a whole lot of opportunities to break those tackles. I I think he caught every target to him to really nice one handed catch for for check downs. did good and pass protection so hard to knock the running back back when the holes weren't there and I think that this whole this whole grade this argument can be brought back to a lot of what we talked about this off season when we talked about paying Zeke Elliott where the offense align doesn't block good Zeke Elliott isn't going to look at if often salon blocks good Ezekiel. It's GonNa look great and that's why we were paying a running back that high-dollar because it is is very very dependent on the People Blocking Forum but Dalton. I'll ask you the same question what was your grade for Zeke Elliot and the cowboys running game Ezekiel Elliott and the cowboys running game get a d. for me and like you said it's not his fault but before I have get the twitches and get a you're paying them ninety million dollars. You're paying fifty guaranteed. I mean are is you just getting back into shape into football shape. Are we going to see an elite Dot Doc Prescott area type Prescott an elite Ezekiel Elliott at some point this year or is who he is now is he who despite being close to two hundred and thirty eighty pounds and being the fourth overall pick has broken to tackles this year yes zeke Elliott has to has has elite elite vision. He is great when it comes to running wide zone inside zone. He's able to find creases in blocking schemes and is able to get yards. He's able to fall forward. Please not nearly dynamic enough to be paying him ninety million dollars now with my issue with the entire time so listen if our elite running running back isn't elite in his production. I'm going to give him a bad grade even if it wasn't all his fault because guess what running back is dependent position position he needs good offensive line play to be productive and they didn't block well so he didn't play well. That's all there is to it Coleman. Ask you that same question that I just asked. Dalton greed Zeke Elliott's performance without against me and Dalton both kind of did it. We kinda included included the offense align play which it's hard not to do because of the running game but trying to avoid the you know the you look at the statue. You're going to give the bad grades to try to just try to grade his performance at the in between your I'll go for Zeke young kind of covered it all. He couldn't really do anything on Sunday. There's options for him but he did. I can't give him indeed just like you did pretty well in pass protection at a receptions and all that so I think it was there's an average performance. If you'RE GONNA pay a guy that much money kind of expect more whether they're rightfully wrongly expect him to make a game changing play. We you just see that none of it's far obviously but we just didn't see that and I guess it's not really a great for Tony Polar but more VICA grade for like. Why didn't they use him? He just came was coming off his best game Agassi. It's only been three games to that point but he's coming off his best game of his career and looked at their summit meeting in that way. Cowboys went away from him. There's no targets he did gain Carey's very head-scratching to me I'll get them a sea of the running backs over all right now. Now we're GONNA get to the fun part of that and that's going to be grading the offense align the position group that we think we all think probably had the worst game out of out of anybody we were. You know we're going to go through that now. Don't know started off with you. What was your grade for the cowboys offense align in this ten to twelve loss? I'm going to give them Masisi plus now before everybody kills me for that the reason I'm giving them a C. Plus is because for the most part their past protection was really good. They've been really good in pass protection almost all year. This is one of if not the best defensive lines are going to see all year and I said that going into the game game that despite some of the numbers that have been put up against that defense is better than the numbers suggested especially on that defense blind now there were a couple of times Marcus Davenport got the best of Tyran Smith. Yes Travis. Frederick is a little bit of an issue so far especially during these past three weeks but I felt over all the pass protection was good. We still have an elite right tackle right now and will he continue you that I don't know I don't know if he's actually that good of a player but he stonewalled one of the best path rushers in the NFL on Sunday so I'm I'm happy about the the way that Lyle Collins is played all year this year I think he's been the best offensive lineman on the team and the running running in the room locking just wasn't good now to be fair to them and to be fair to joey aches who you've been fighting with for. I think three straight days now there were some times where they were overloading the middle of the field in between the gaps with three four or guys against our three or four guys for whatever reason the cowboys just refuse to try to attack the edge the run game now. I don't know if that's because Ezekiel Elliott has lost a step and they refused to put Tony Pollard in the name game but it is what it is they kept trying to run it. STRAIGHT UP THE MIDDLE INTO A defensive line that is really good especially in the interior here with guys like David and Sheldon rank ins and guys like Mario Williams. There's so many guys in that interior that can get work work done. They just weren't able to to block them very well and the linebackers were able to flow free. They brought safeties up not safeties up at the corner was Azazel to come in and cover to looks load box at the last second it just wasn't good overall and you can't have that against the Green Bay packers next week it can't it happened because the passing attack will not be as good against the packers coal ask you the same question man grading the offense align their performance against the saints. You gotta give him yeah. I'm going to be a little bit of a harsher greater than I want to go with it. I'll go to de the offensive line day. You've made some good points dog about their passport action. Obviously low collins is played arguably the best right tackle in the NFL this season so you can't take that away from him but the rest of the offensive line. Nobody really stood. There's no traction in the run game they to get anything going. That guy enforced her will it seemed like they couldn't get anything good offensively in a wash part of that was because the offensive line in my opinion the saints have a good defensive line of good front seven the aggregate overall defense so those kind of expected we they. They weren't GonNa try to Saint Psych the Miami or anything but I kind of I I think I'm expected a little bit more on the offense fine him. I guess I mean we hold them to a high standard there. They have a bunch of all pros all over the offensive line but Ozzy Travis Frederick has not played a estee edit them some of that can be attributed to coming back from the autoimmune disease but when you're in the NFL when you're Dallas cowboys buying say night football game you need.

"He was actually worse than malarkey in tennessee last year. That's just don't you. I just don't know how he suddenly going to get much better. Now i get that you have aaron rodgers and it should improve things but last season and i'm not a huge proponent of what what the green bay packers offense looked like previously. I don't love the former head coach there. Was this battle going on with aaron. Rodgers where he was hating is his boss us basically every single day which you look last year in the packers still finished seventh in offense of efficiency despite that dynamic of mccarthy and aaron rodgers hating each other and aaron rodgers playing on one frigging like so like this is a big step up here for matla florida kind of replicate that and do some things even better and he hasn't proven he's been able. We'll do that yet. The other scary thing for me here is we have not seen this green bay. Packers new offense really play together with all the stars. They didn't play in the preseason. Aaron rogers didn't play a preseason snap. If you read some of the comments that the offensive line is making for green bay this off season it's talked about you know the floors complex running system and how the blocking concepts have changed and they just think they just think now a five minutes later that they've got down pat in so that makes me extremely nervous with those two elements. Were you have linemen coming out who are pretty smart saying man this was is this was tough picking up these new blocking seemed. I think we got it down. Pat so week before the season. It took them five months to figure this out. None of them played together in the preseason. There could be this transition period or we find out aaron. Rodgers is just that god damn good but i don't see a scenario where green bay's offense is is peaking game. One especially against chicago's devos do we believe is a green bay can really change its identity we they were the most pass-happy team in the league last year throwing the football at a better than two out of every three offensive plays days. Do we feel that the aaron rodgers is going to be okay going with an even run pass balance. I mean i find that hard to believe in even wrap my head around in any capacity we no the greatest assistant or complementary passing game is having the ability to be balanced and running the footba. I just can't envision that the floor and rogers get on the same page when you have this is exactly wow. The offense is gonna work. I'm i'm not quite sure now. They've said all the the right things recently and aaron rogers says hey you know matt the floors and charged early on that wasn't really the vibe kind of some skepticism there from aaron rodgers in the always telling people hey. Hey you know you showed us his offense last year but it was just really the explosive chop. It's a highlight reel. You come into camp show. A highlight highlight reel plays here matt where the house arrest the offense you guys ran and it was legitimately probably only six plays on film if game from tennessee so aw that's my that's the thing nervous about here with this green bay offense is the familiarity is with that battle. I don't know what to expect because we have a team where you have aaron rodgers and it is two thousand nineteen in passing equates to wins at a three point eight times clip than it does running so oh i don't see a scenario where we can run the ball the you know as much as we saw in tennessee although apparently he loves aaron jones and i think that's going to be an interesting running back. The other thing is not just with with this game here but in general you're looking at a green bay packers offense. It's going to face one of the very toughest office..

"Tall fence head to lambofield to take on the Green Bay Packers. Let's see what defense side radio crew here thinks this game. And how it's going to play out. How it's what do you think? I mean, it's obvious cliches it might sound the dolphins defense needs to go out there and do what they did last week a very poor jets team on the struggled throughout the year against the run. And I think Green Bay's rushing attack is a lot better than people give him credit for Jamal Williams. Aaron Jones those guys can both you know, they can make way on the ground that can do things through the air. So I think they're going to cause all sorts of mismatch problems for the dolphins defense, Jimmy Graham. I know haven't touched on him. We talked a bit. I mean, he's going to be a huge huge mismatch when he's lined up against Kiko Alonzo drum Baker those guys sets huge test for them the offense of weapons on the outside. I mean, it's cliche. Like, I said to say but going out there and stop in Aaron Rodgers net. High potent offense as bad as been this year. They've lost. To straight. He is going to be angry. They're at home. They have playoff hopes coming into the season ended have just not lived up to any of those expectations. They're going go out there and try to make this statement game. It's up to Matt Burke defense to do exactly what they did last week much as I liked the way they looked for as much as I wanna believe that's the dolphins defense were gonna see moving forward. I just don't know if they can do at this Sunday. I look for this to be a high scoring game green based part. I think the final score thirty one thirteen Green Bay a look at this statement game. And I just hope I'm wrong. Hope the dolphins go out there and surprise us all but I think Green Bay's upset in stopping at all fence gonna be a tough task. I see two possible story arcs here. The one house mentioned a little bit of a buck kicking. And then the other one I say is we actually stay close, and the reason for that is because we might be able to establish the trenches on both sides. You have to be able to get the run game going. I don't see a shootout working out for us. I just don't think we can keep pace the way, you know, typical shootout would work out grain that. I think the Green Bay Packers special teams unit which was something. We didn't talk about can be taken advantage of by king grant. So I think there could be a splash play there perhaps. But I think. It's more likely that we have to get the run game going. We have to be able to stab wish our offense of line and be able to to make some creases for both Frank or an can enjoy. It would be nice to see an an even distribution touches there. Be able to get Frank gore going in the interior. But also looks like Kenyan Drake could have some plays in space and getting to the edge there. So I think the best medicine as being able to get a good ground game going in have have time of possession. Keep Aaron Rodgers on the sidelines.
