"Subscribe to pick six on apple podcast spotify stitcher wherever else podcasts found one update everybody on a huge ranking mistake that Dave Jamie and heath made somehow they don't have George biddle as the number one and this week facing the cardinals, but we will forgive them. For that would you said that if Kelsey had two touchdowns in one hundred yards, last night I would have said that I mean I didn't. Even look I mean I looked by I didn't notice but if I had said that before the Thursday night game I definitely would have said how do you have George cadle hazard tight end but you know in front of microphone right at any point I should have but I looked at I I looked at the last five teams that finished last against tight ends as the cardinals did last year. And only one of them like repeated as like a horrible DSP tight end. So you never know what's going to happen but you gotTa Wildcard Level See Isaiah Simmons I I would love to see him try to cover George kiddle and his furs. Yeah. Not. So good. coralline Sutton Kenny Golladay Mike Evans Did Not Practice Danny Dole also limited with hamstring injury, but son's got the Spring Day. See joint does it seem serious? He's got a Monday night game against. Tennessee. So what's the deal I'd anticipate him not playing this week at this point. Jerry Judy Eighty eight percent oh no offense eighty four percent owner are you gonNA move them up and your rankings? Obviously, if something's out, they're going to an uptick in targets but I mean, this is not GonNa be pretty for this broncos team if they don't have those guys and they could be on the field all day defensively because of the defense being banged up without von Miller and Bradley Chubb, you know not playing one hundred percent. So this could be titans field day if they really wanted to milk the clock and run Derrick Henry all over them. Yeah but I mean, are you going to say like Jerry Judy's in your top thirty? No offense atop twelve for sure guy. Yes Judy not not so fast. All right. Yeah, and evasion we'll. We'll hopefully get a little bit of a better idea. The the BRONCOS had their media session before their practice Vic fangio addressed it afterwards I see anything but. you know depending on the severity of it. With. Caja Hamblur also out you know if you're in deeper leagues like Really Deep Leagues Day Sean Hamilton apparently sat a good camp and Tim Patrick those guys are still there I know they were really disappointing last year but you know targets or targets, and so if you're in a fourteen league sixteen league, you know you could be looking for an end of bench guy especially, you can move into an IRA spot. depending again on the severity of it that's something I would look at pressure. Okay. Dave give me a quick. We're GONNA talk about this game later, Detroit Chicago give me a quick thought on the lions wide receivers has been out and Danny. Amendola Limited both have hamstring injuries. Could be a big week for Marvin. Jones could be a rough week for the lions if they don't have Kenny Golladay. I would imagine they're going to take the safe route much like Tampa Bay would do and not risk putting these players in a precarious position. Bears Defense I don't know if they're going to be as good as people think they are another Khalil. Mack is GONNA be awesome. I'm not sure. Robert Quinn is is even healthy at this point I think I saw him on the injury report but yeah if he doesn't if the lines of Ghalib then that's a problem for them but Marvin Jones could see a Lotta targets. into if Golladay doesn't play, are you sitting Matthew Stafford for? Probably, Jimmy Garoppolo or Derek Carr. I like car this week. So I might I might do that. Stafford would fall way out of the top twelve. All right without Golladay. sportsline already has him as the twenty fifth quarterback in their projections. Golladay. With Golden Lab. If he could fall much lower I, think the bears fashion is going to be good. quit whenever you get a good pass rusher posit and elite pass rusher. Typically tends to play well, and Quinn actually played really well year he just didn't get a lot of Saxby. Let me see if I. was was a good pass rusher opposite and elite pass rusher last year, right? Sure. Okay. But he hasn't practiced the last two days. All right. Fully, Friday he practices and the make it better for the bears defense it will make it harder on the line of injuries already not good. Yeah. Mike Evans did not practice I mean can we should we just not start him even if he does play You probably shouldn't I wasn't a big fan coming into week anyway just because of how Marshon lattimore has done covering him and. It's the saints are going to try and take him away first and foremost I'm sure. But if he's not hundred percent on top of that, you're definitely not gonNA WANNA use them. The rest of the News Deebo Samuel did not practice and the not euch was limited. David Montgomery practiced in full. We'll talk about this game like I said but Jamie would you give any thoughts of starting Montgomery against the Lions? If he goes through another full practice today. Absolutely you know this this is shaping up especially if the lines are going to be banged up offensively like a game, the bears can can win A Win even if all these out there. So I think Montgomery's game script should be okay. Just a matter of how much they're gonNA use him. Or are they GONNA? You know risk further injury to Abaco that we know is thin to begin with so I'd be a little bit cautious, but Flex Okay Mile Sanders was limited in practice. You guys have him outside the top twelve but not far. You know we're just. We just don't know what kind of workload he'll get. Let's see how much he practices on Friday Mile Sanders. Jalen. Rigor practice in full. We will preview this game but would anybody consider starting jalen rigor if he plays Fourteen League sixteen that type of re receivers? Yeah. Per Tepe. Another saints. Walks note marcus. Davenport, sensitive in good player did not practice with an elbow injury and they were not even sure they're gonna be able to play a New Orleans? Unless there's an update on that they're trying to get approval to play and you're a very strange thing with all these cove and regulations. I. ASSUME THEY'LL BE PLAYING IN NEW ORLEANS. It seems like a weird time to have to deal with this Cleveland cornerback greedy. Williams. Still out with a shoulder injury Baltimore offensive coordinator, Greg Romans said, the backfield touches will change on a weekly basis. K.. So I would I was talking to heath about that before FDA yesterday. He's he said hopefully, that's just. Daycare Dobbins. Through Gus Edwards Right is fine. No. So right now they're dobbins listed fourth on the depth start but justice third.

"855 to 124227 What team do you think is under the most pressure to break through this upcoming football season? Hated from Texas is up first. Go ahead. Hey, I appreciate you taking my call, man. No problem. Yeah, I really think especially after hearing what you said about the bills. The Cleveland Browns really have a lot of pressure on him. I feel like there's a lot of similarities between Buffalo and Cleveland, except for the fact you know the removing door of coaches and GMS that Cleveland usually has. But when you look at their up and down with their young quarterback receiver Corps, one of their fit when the best running back in the league When you got there young defense that's always going to get them out of bed situation. I really think the Browns have a lot of it's just unfortunate with Division. They're in with the Ravens and finding out how big Ben is coming back here and the potential job, Roo. I just really think the FT North is gonna be a fun division to watch for the next few years. I appreciate the phone call. I'm with you when it comes to the Cleveland Browns. If you look at their roster in their depth chart right now, they are as talented offense. Offensively as any team this side of Kansas City. Dave Baker takes a step forward. You've got Nick Chubb. Karim Hunt. Odell Beckham, Jarvis Landry. Rashard Higgins, who is a decent number three option. Austin Hooper, David and Joe Ku, who knows what happens within joke who, but I don't think he gets traded. And they solidify the offensive line and went out and spent big time money and picking out Jack Conklin to play right tackle. You then look at the defense. The pieces are certainly there. Grant del Pit Greedy Williams, Myles, Garrett, Olivier Vernon, Denzel Ward. I mean, that's a team that's full of names. My question for Cleveland is very similar to the question we all had last year are the Brown's going to be good or they're going to be interesting. Those are two very different things. Last year. Cleveland was certainly interesting. They were not a good team by any means. Are they going to be good? Or are they going to be interesting? Those are two very different Things. 855 to 124227 What team do you think is most under pressure to break through this upcoming year? I think it's the Buffalo Bills. Matt Verma fan side. It felt like it was the Baltimore Ravens. Let's go back to the phone lines will head out to Virginia with shish boy. I believe it's I pronounce it going, my man. How are you? Hey! Um, I appreciate you taking my call. Um, I think that the team most under pressure is by far the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They went out about Tom Brady. But when I got Rob Gronkowski. Um Everybody has high expectations on them and It's ah Super Bowl or bust like a team, you know, and they have three Syrians as the head coach to have a bunch of weapons on offense. Mike Evans, Um You got Mike Evans? Thank God Win. Um and Well, you got your guy. Got a running back after that his name. He's also really good. Really, and you aren't drunk too tight. And so it's just it's very Just a very Right? Talented team that I expected breakout. It's Super Bowl or bust. No, I appreciate the phone call. I mean that Sample Bay team's certainly has. The pieces certainly has the parts. Brady Evans. Chris God, When you pick up drunk, you make a big move to get a right tackle in the offensive are on the offensive line in the draft. You've got some names on the defense. Example on paper appears to be one of those teams. Tampa Bay has a little bit of a spin off movie field. You know what I'm talking about? Where? The sequel They got some of the main part, but they don't really have everybody. It's like saved by the bell. The college years. That's what Santa Bay is like. Exact. Morris was in it. A C. Slater was in it. But it wouldn't save by the bell. Not the one that we remembered. That's how this buccaneer seemed, feels to me. Oh, you got Brady You got Belichick? Are you got you got Garak, but you don't have Belichick. You don't have the Patriots way. Quote unquote. It's a different kind of off season, so I'm kind of curious on how cohesive Tampa Bay is going to look this year. That's one thing that I think we can't underestimate heading into this year. These guys haven't been around each other. There was no many camps. There were no Ta Sze. There were not those sort of benchmarks that happen throughout the course of the year that allow everybody to get right and to get ready. Typically by now, we would have had practice would have had some video would have heard out. Things were kind of progressing and you get a chance to do it right now. All you're doing is meeting on Zoom. I don't know how much football work. You're getting done on Zoom, and that's certainly not how the games are played. The games are not played on zoom Games are played on the field with men colliding and tackling into each other. Tampa Bay is really solid on paper. Are they going to be a good team once the game starts? You're asking the question. Who's the team that has the most pressure on them heading into this upcoming season? I think it's the Buffalo Bills. Tampa was thrown out as a team. I'll throw out another name before we go back to the phone lines. Houston. I think Houston is sort of starting to get lapped in this conversation in the FC. We see the success that Baltimore had last year disappointing ending, but they went 14 into and with one seed. We see the success that Kansas City's having You're supposed to have one of those guys. Into Shawn Watson. Another guy who's lining up to get one of those big money, 35 plus $1,000,000 type deals. You haven't had a whole lot to show for. You haven't had the regular season success the way that some of your contemporaries have. You also haven't had that postseason success to kind of hang your hat on. John Watson has one playoff win There was in Buffalo last year in a very sloppy FC wild card game. Although Houston out there too, with a team with a lot of pressure. Let's go back to the phone lines. Sean is in Columbus. Go ahead, Sean. Hey, thanks for taking my call from and I just wanted to throw out there. The New England Patriots and the reason why I think the New England Patriots have a ton of pressure is the sole reason because Cam Newton You gotta think their parting ways with Tom Brady, which was huge headliners. They're historically winning franchise team. You know, they go out there and every year and they always compete. They've always been a good team. And they decided to only take heaven can dude what $7 million you can cap out at, you know, And and also, you ever see Cam Noon on ESPN. He's always talking about how he had a chip on his shoulder. I was ready to come back and you know, there's a lot of analysts that talk about how availability is, you know an athlete best ability. So I think the sole reason because New England picked up Cam Newton and they're putting the ball and the ball is in his hands because they were they were hoping for, you know, set him to start. And since there kind of crying away from that board for Cam Newton now I think there's a lot of pressure on the decisions that New England has made on. I think they have a lot of pressure on, you know, being confident Cam Newton and for him to, you know, bring in a winning season for their team this year. I appreciate the phone call that was Sean in Columbus. I don't think that New England has a lot of pressure and expectation on them this year because I don't really think a lot of people are Expecting New England to be good. Last year's team I thought was really propped up from a bad schedule. My last year's patriots seems probably innate One team, maybe nine..

Davis on special teams for Cleveland and the Steelers have it first and ten after a twenty one yard line trailing seven enough and they come in on the first drive really established along with James Garner back after the shoulder which he did against the Miami Dolphins game with his best game at forty five yards up again the line they were struggling to run the ball so it's not just the fact that Connor was out the last two weeks this is a line which had a great new years of running the ball protecting big band they've struggled in the window they have not been great and I think he's going to spread this defense down a little bit in trying to solve the box in the front Joby Richard sit and chat Thomas Wilson shoulder and Taylor linebackers on first and ten president of the Middle East which is to make the move to the thirty six to thirty five and he's got a first down nice check to run finally brought down by the Marius Randall and mac will sit in that secondary experience Randall Denzil reward Morgan Burnett greedy Williams and you'll see Justin Burris in the Nick of sixteen yards of the passport they're working as the bears Randall right there simple income hits two thirds this used to install okay scrimmages the thirty seven you said it down for Christmas is it near the near side and it's a little incomplete Connor the intended target well member last week healthy at the high snap that led to the touch down for the ram this one's whoa and it messes the entire timing up above what now she is a seven time pro bowler he's as good as it gets never found the like last week there was one of I'm shocked this one is in the dirt Mason Rudolph there has been progress we've seen improvement but it's not as if they just opened up the offense for me it's been a little bit each week a little bit more pushing it down field checked out on second ten has the time he throws it to the left side they expect by Vance McDonald any stacked up with a flag down so immediately he was hit by a Mack Wilson the rookie linebacker for yard pickup penalty marker down at the twenty eight these were problem was with thirteen for a hundred seven yards for Pittsburgh a little wave a cold on the penalty tune in and watch all the excitement of the NFL Sunday on fox check your local listings for games at times in your area catch the NFL on fox it gets miles Garrett Garrett made inside blue and gold the only chance he has the key mall food off of the whole second twenty now for the twenty seven right hash Rudolph from the gun to receivers to the right the late handle team and sandals sandals cuts to the left to form at the thirty four in at the thirty five by greedy Williams the rookie corner from LSU second round draft pick seven yard run and brings up third and long now for Pittsburgh that's a nice and Galen sandals gets up in the line of scrimmage maybe they want to in that second along situation to try to set up something less than thirty wasn't able to do it the third twelve these on the Steelers come into games behind the ravens AFC north and a loss to Baltimore in overtime shot gun middle step James Washington the intended receiver in a match up with Denzil war only marker on the plate two of them in fact in the area we're gonna get down the war for the pass interference James watch and have them be and I think a better throw ball maybe a half it takes sooner and that might have been a house call because then the ward is in a trail position he's trying to catch up with the balls in the air and that's where the contact came and I we have two more flag on the far side and so you're in a conference right now of the officials my guess what this means is gonna be some sort of seven both on the defense with yours if you're still a fan you want that but that was a missed opportunity for James watching the ball with right yeah that's a perfect and it's a ticket this was a double should've been caught thirty three yard penalty and the Steelers are set up in Cleveland territory at the thirty three yard line that's my point with Rudolph Randy figure there's forty to eighty should take some chances they would not even slide that a few weeks ago still it's a gift to who takes it to the twenty five for the yard well good block by peeling away the has he looked the left side I saw this on film the Buffalo Bills that this the Pittsburgh they overloaded one side on balance both will tight ends the.

"Obviously there's a couple of throws there that he wished he had back <hes> go with the protections <hes> we gotta get cleaned up but first starting n._f._l. First opportunity to play you know it's not gonna go perfectly. I feel like i got to put in but <hes> excited for my potential and they all said the right things nick. Would you take away from haskins performance yeah. I think it's worthwhile if you can go to n._f._l. Dot com and watch the cut up of every throw he made yesterday because i don't think the stat sheet did him justice. I i watched l._v. online today. Every throw from all the young quarterbacks from preseason game one and haskins without any question was asked to make the most difficult throws he was. He had the fewest easy open reads. I don't know if that was by design or if that's just because of what the browns were able do defensively i thought his i throw the game inside his own. Tanta play action rollout where it goes for twenty. Five yards was a really good throw. He made another really good throw up the sideline that the receiver ended up fumbling and ended that drive now. The two interceptions were bad. One was particularly bad. The one into double coverage greedy williams got but i i thought he was better than the stat line showed. I thought he had some really solid dros. This one was obviously not one of them where he rushes. We'll route but i don't. I don't think haskins should be terribly discouraged by by what happened yesterday because there were moments where you saw him make some of the better throws any of the young guys made last night. It's easy to explain the interception the we'll route. He had a running back on a linebacker. He thought he was going to be a loft at over two linebackers hit but at this level until you see it in the game. You don't realize guys can anticipate. Linebackers can catch and the defender for cleveland. He's able to catch it in return for a touchdown but if you put a little more air on the other throw down the seen as fundamentals he stepped into his throat but the ball sale doing so it's not in the double coverage are planning to man all right their plan zone coverage grease just back there. He's not garden that guy..

"Yet double dipping it offense of line with your first two pixes risky, but that that would immediately solve a lot of issues of front. I would think you also had greedy Williams who seem to be now he we don't know exactly of his fit in this defensive scheme. The Bengals like a little more physical type of Cornerbacks guys. Do a little more press man type stuff, greedy Williams, did some of that. But not often he's really the rangy ball hawk kind of guy. Good speed. But still he was out there. Some other players were out there that that you think could have been a little bit more intriguing. Than a potentially second or third tight end. But so that to me made it my least favorite pick. However, I'm going to defend the pick at the same time because this is a player, I think it also play h back for this team. I think he can line up in the backfield at times not all the time. But at times ad be an outlet option. We I think it was last episode of the episode before we had a question about fullbacks white. Oh, the Bengals use them. I think this guy could be used in certain situations on that front. He's known as a blocking tight end and use that plus the F lettuce ISM of a being tied in and he you could be used. They're the Bengals move back and gotta pick like you said who turned turned into Renou Remm. So at least it didn't go up and reach that way. They move back on additional pick in and worked at that way. And we don't know what's going on with CJ Zomba's had a couple of injuries. So I think this I think we're starting to see a shape coming through of this offense in the plan. It's going to be controlled passing. It's gonna be a lot of runs. It's gonna be a lot of play action. And quite honestly, that's a lot of what we saw out of Los Angeles is offense as last year. So I think when you see the beefing up of the offensive line throughout the entire offseason. I think when you see the investment in to Ryan Bax in this draft. I think I think it's signs are pointing to this is gonna be a run heavy. Let's let's do a lot of control passing which plays. Andy Dalton strengths. The short intermediate passing game plays to his strengths long long balls, necessarily do not. So I think from that standpoint that was my Lisa repick. But there is a reasonable defense on that. I don't know if that makes sense to you. Or not. But. That's kind of my take on true sample in the second round, and like like is data points towards sleep like a slightly outside chance of becoming a long-term story. I do like his athleticism. I do like his blocking ability in there is to that is just a matter of do take on the second round. Because obviously when you look at dense their value is in the passing game and loosely the tiny group right now, you're probably thinking that you have Zuma in sample in the fold. They're gonna see significant snaps. You have them as traditional in line, quote, unquote, y tight ends that you have maybe when you go into twelve I now, and then then you have I for maybe just a big slot. Just simply big receiver think that was sort of what they were trying to do last year before he got hurt again, the her a frigging not necessarily from blocking. So I think I think there's a plan with with that group as a whole, and yeah, they've been a lot of work to quote, unquote, to like the to defend the value of the Pickens while which is kind of silly because they're in NFL worms and were just on Twitter's shyness computer screen. That interesting aspect of what what was the consent?.

"C. Let's go back to the second round. So we told you by remerci Washington round to Rocky's in cornerback temple again. Temple didn't have the same temple teen. This year that they've had. But it was a pretty good team. So don't know enough about this kid do know John Taylor who people who had going late in first round trips with him in the top ten. Yeah. So something happened to where his stock dropped John Taylor. Tackle out of Florida. He did stay inside the sunshine state. He goes to Jacksonville number three. Niners grabbed deebo Samuel, South Carolina. Love this kid talent wise coming off an injury. But still a guy very explosive if he's back to one hundred percent he's one of these guys that can stretch the field. He's got that fifth year. We talk about tyreek hill Devaux Samuel somebody that has that fifth year. Yeah. And he's only five eleven so not the guy, but he can also do kick returns to which can prove to be huge in the NFL's UC with Cordeiro Patterson as well. The very scooped up. He he did really well with that for the patriots. So that could be a huge impact. I still wonder why that guy just becomes somebody that just goes all the raiders Adam as well. He goes all around and use a talented, Tennessee. He's got that fifth year. But for any gives you that dimension like you said punt and kickoff returner. But for some reason teams let him go. Yeah. I just don't know what you know, what the promise Carolina the number four pick grab Greg little tackle a Mississippi. Cody Ford who a lot of people had going in the first round out of Oklahoma goes to the Buffalo Bills fishes team, Sean bunting we saw a lot about this kid as well. Coming out of the MAC cornerback at a central Michigan. Tampa Bay takes with the seventh pick then the raiders grab a corner out of Clemson. So they go back to the Clemson. Well, Trayvon Molin is a guy that's pretty physical the film that I saw on him is a guy that is going to lay the boom people were waiting for greedy Williams, Daniel winded agree, Williams, go number what forty six you said. Let's see forty six to the Browns. They there were many. And you're saying today like don't want the raiders getting greedy will in because he doesn't wrap up doesn't tackle. He's not a he's a guy that they said can MIR the receiver he can run. Down the field. When you see the film that they showed on him during a lot of these mock drafts, and then you know, the coverage from ESPN NFL network. He's right there. He's a blanket receiver. But when he loses somebody and then he's on an island by himself. And then he has to make a tackle. That's where he's had problems and Trayvon Molins a great player. He didn't get too much action throughout the season. Just because of how dominated was. But in the national championship. He had a sack interception force fumble. He didn't let up a touchdown all year. And yes started twenty six games for corded sixteen pass the flex foreigner -ception second team all Americans election. So I'll pick up for the raiders. And that's what might may outlook that he's looking. Okay. You're a five store. Now, you're going against five star talent all over the field Alabama, and he showed up with a big time game. So let's go at the highest level. The Trayvon Moland could be that guy. Don't risen or for Denver tackle, Kansas state. But could be reisner could be. I don't want to mispronounce his name Kansas state, killing Vegas of smacking upside the head that's her alma mater, the Kansas state while cats drew lock finally goes this was the quarterback that could have put it over as far as over under was three and a half quarterbacks in the first round. And when you saw Jones go early to the giant you'd thinking. Oh, this thing's going to go over because most people had drew locked as a lock in the first round. Yeah. And I actually saw proffer over under ten and a half at minus one eighty five I jumped on that. Immediately tweeted it out and right after he tweeted went to like mine is to ten or something like that. But the Broncos they were they were smart with what they're doing with drew lock because they traded their pick with this. Healers, they figured they could get your lock late. And that's exactly what they did. So they were smart in their decision. Making Jilani tall linebacker at Hawaii goes to Detroit Lions Green Bay L Jennings from Mississippi State a center patriots grabbed Joon Williams corner. Good solid, cover corner at Vanderbilt. Greedy Williams, number fourteen. Picking the second round out of LSU goes to the Cleveland Browns. Browns are just love and life though. Because Williams is a guy that they're gonna teach you how to tack on that defense defense you talking about the team that I believe is what fifth or sixth as far as odds to win the Super Bowl. Now Baker Mayfield pressure there. But you bring in odeal Beckham junior. It's an exciting time to be a Cleveland Browns fan, and you haven't been able to say that for a long long time. Marquees Blair Seattle Seahawks. Grab him to safety. How to Utah? Got to watch him play Whittington guys always solid as far as tackling skills. Otherwise, you don't play for Kyle Whittingham. Eric McCoy center out of AM goes to New Orleans in the second round, Ben bang bang ago. Vanna goo out of TCU edge rusher goes to the colts Coulter another team that's going to challenge in the AFC this year. I miss all tight end out of Bama goes to Minnesota number eighteen pick second round AG AJ Brown. And now this is. I actually thought he would get your after before Matt caffeine. David a lot of people are thinking that too. 'cause MEC have had the flood says the potential with that body. AJ Brown is really more of a skill set receiver and titans. Take right there at home in Nashville. So they got a lot of regional views of Metcalf and Brown they come out, and they grab AJ Brown with number nineteen take in the second round Bengals grabbed do sample tight end at a Washington. Running back from Penn State mile Sanders, doesn't l Jordan how are you? Go on Janis giving me the thirty seconds. We're already nine twenty five Lottie Johnson. Lonnie Johnson cornerback Kentucky goes to the Houston. Texans who are back to back picks. Max Scharping tackle out of northern Illinois. The boys from DeKalb also that Houston Texans them McColl. Hartman and mentioned that that Kansas City takes the wide receiver at Georgia the problems, we'll get Adam ranked to weigh in on this JJ or Siga Whiteside. I like this kid and he's as a big receiver. Somebody that's tough to cover one on one. I think he's a great asset for. Wentz in the eagles at number twenty five second round tristen hill defensive tackle central Florida goes to Dallas colts grab Paris Campbell wide receiver Ohio State. Let's going to love him. He's got some great speed. And a good body Adderley goes to the chargers on his here. Outer early the safety out of the Delaware fighting blue hens Joe flacco alma Mata Taylor rap LA Rams, grab him safety. Remember, they lose mortgage Joyner who goes over to the raiders Andy Isabella wide receiver at a UMass. This guy was real deal. This this guy had great stats. Umass. Went up a lot against a lot of big d one teams, including bam. I believe they played a lot. But Isabela was solid over his last couple years. Thornhill for Virginia safety Virginia goes to Kansas City and Seattle with the final pick grabs DJ de que Metcalf wide receiver ole miss who is probably just beside himself that he didn't go in the first round in his last pick of the second round. We take a break. We'll come back. We'll go over some of the stuff. That's transpired over the last couple of days with Adam rank NFL network. A fun guy charismatic. I guy with a great sense of humor guy. That does stand up comedy..

"And I can talk to you about your team and your draft picks. Call the show if you wanna talk about your situation after the second and third round. So I got every teams pegs and everything else. Right. So I don't know. What did you think you look at some of the players take it off at a board in the second round and ones that jump out to you. I love this guy rock Yaas sin. How about that guy? Rocky sign. Outta temple the corner. He went to call. It's they're loving that guy. The Niners got deebo Sanyal wide receiver out of South Carolina. You got Cody Ford the attack. Oh from Oklahoma. You liked that pick in buffalo? Love it. I saw him in a lot of mocks going in the first round in the mid teen. So I'm happy with it may Guelleh Trayvon Molin a corner from Clemson he really got into that Clemson national championship game because he drafted a bunch of Clemson players on his team. I think three of them didn't he and then I drew lock went to the Broncos the Missouri quarterback, greedy Williams, who everyone is buying a great player because he's got a really cool name, right? Is that why everyone thinks he's the greatest player ever? And then he guaranteed the Browns win the Super Bowl already. Nothing like listening to the rookie out of LSU. Give everyone some advice on how things are going to play out in the NFL that a lot of Super Bowl success in Cleveland. There guaranteeing now Super Bowl wins in Cleveland. This is fantastic. Played you'd never played a down. But he's already making guarantees way to go Grady reach Venice stars kid. Also in the second round mile Sanders, the wide receiver or running back from Penn State ended up going to Philly. And parents Campbell. I like this pig colts receiver out of Ohio State thing about that. In the second run get rocky soon the corner out of temple, and they added Paris Campbell to a team. It was already a playoff team with Andrew lock Andy Brown. I mean, that's a good hall. They actually had a third second round pick as well. They took a linebacker at TCU the bond goo, yes. The three second round picks for the Colt. So the last the other one everybody got all caught up and as de que Metcalf who was the combine star right combine warrior at the big. Combine star went to out of all MS went to Seattle with the last pick in the second round. And then the third round went down and. Zac gallon. I know they like that play right there. The defensive out of BC the Arizona Cardinals at the end of the day. They ended up having a great draft right with everything they got Tyler Murray. Name it on paper. The Steelers got they ended up getting this Deontay Johnson. Toledo a really small receiver. I'm not. So sure I'm excited about that. They also got Justin lane a cornerback out of Michigan state, very tall. I think he's around six three two hundred pounds long guy, but soaking wet a buck ninety five two hundred. So it is what it is. Is there any other? And then like the jump out of your Dawson, not is a guy you got out of old miss tight end. Do you like that guy very excited? Very I can tell you're very excited will Greer is the quarterback out of West Virginia that everybody ranted and raved about he went to Carolina in the third round. And then it ended up with Alexander Madison to the Vikings, Boise state or running back. And there you go that was the three rounds completed. So you could talk about any team you like and the players and how it went down. Call the show now eight five five two one two four to seven. We're taking your calls. You'll get on the air Wayne in Baltimore, you're on CBS sports radio. What's happening again? Hey, hey, everybody thinks Cleveland is the team that be in the north. That is such a last look at the ravens ticks all my God. We are the defending AFC north champ. I'm sorry to say for your Pittsburgh Steelers. We are going to take the division of and comments on the ravens draft zone. All right. So the ravens are going to take everybody out 'cause they were the division champs last year. The Steelers blew it. And the ravens won the division. So then and then flag on now. The March your guy and now you like marquees Brown, the top receiver out of Oklahoma. And then Jalen Bergerson defensive end of Louisiana tagging miles. Boy, get out of Notre Dame the wide receiver. So you like your picks, and you're claiming that the ravens will repeat in the north. Oh, most definitely there you go. You know, here's my guess is that he when he went through the schedule. I have fun of him actually loss loss to play the tape here. It is this is that guy going through the ravens schedule this year. That's a win loss win win loss. That's adequate automatic loss loss. But and then went out and win win win. You win out win out. I like everybody everybody in the first thing that we had the best draft. We had the best drags nobody thinks that's actually when you sound like talking about the bills tonight. Here's what I sound. Like, my hate our picks besides Bush, did I not say that kid from Michigan state soaking wet waste one ninety-five. He'll get his ass whooped. And then the other one the little guy from Toledo for Christ sakes. Good luck. They're short stack. Good luck by drafting receiver, and it's five eight someone explained to me. Why is he what does he Ataman? Honestly, I want receivers that are six three. Thanks is there anything like watching that guy Williams for the chargers. Go up and get it. Honestly, you know, the guys that are big Julio Jones. And this guy my wrong. I'm sorry. I'm not interested in little dudes playing receiver in the NFL. That's just me. I mean, you gotta Brahma at garbage. I am my. My little guy jokes. Yeah. I don't like having I like having taller guys. That's for sure. Ever seen her? Yeah. Thanks. How do you feel about little quarterbacks? I mean, I'm not particularly fond of her, but it's been shown that they can win. Do you believe that that guy is going to go to Arizona, and that they are going to win with that little the I think he's a really good quarterback in college. And without a doubt of eight. He was a great baseball player and college above layered, Oklahoma, without a doubt, I need to see it to believe. So you're not buying. I'm not what about you trademark are by the win a couple more games. But this type that I think he's a little overrated for his size. Now, Russell Wilson with height. But I think he's a little overrated. I listen. The guy was great at Oklahoma. Let it up, but you have to remember this is the same thing. I said last night at Ohio State. Remember, he threw fifty two touchdowns or something. Like this the kid Askins is it really that hard to throw fifty touchdowns at Ohio State when you've got talent that is get out fivefold better than every other team in the conference. Are they not the most loaded team with talent in the big ten? Do they not have that heaviest top recruiting bast program in the big ten without a doubt. Right. Did they not have that with Meyer, even better than as you can without a doubt? Is there anyone that would argue that anymore? No, okay. So it doesn't matter you can live with my sister could play quarterback at Ohio State and she would throw forty or fifty touchdowns. Honestly their offense is meant to produce touchdowns. Is it not every guy on the team's going to the NFL? I mean, literally, it's Alabama. Clemson, Ohio State. These are the automatic. You know, what they're gonna start some hack and quarterback. They don't do it. Do. They don't need to Jay in DC. Thanks for taking my call big. Hey, Jay, they man. Oh, I recall, of course, on the thing finishing third or fourth place. Call Seattle and the Rams he'll be good. But I'm a Pittsburgh fan. And I was concerned on Mon to give me something. While you feel about that. We Davis stuff and got the linebacker the rusher from Michigan. You think he's going to be able to get some pressure on quarterbacks kidding kidding? Like, this guy is an absolute freaky. Keynote. He reminds me of do you. Remember, what was the guy saved Ferguson in fast times originally high when they smashed his his Tiba? That's the guy Devin Bush is that's him. Israel. Whitaker. But I mean, I gotta David it was what was the main in the movie at ridgemont high where he was a linebacker. They got so mad. Ever plays car got smashed before the big game. And then he went out and had like hundred tackles and forty six Charles Jefferson, Charles Jefferson, meant business. That's who I think Devon Bush is gonna play like this. He said James I didn't get any pressure on the quarterback. They drafted him. They made a trade to get him. So that he would do what sack the quarterback that's his job. He's tried pal. Amal? Who isn't he this guy? Isn't that what they drafted him to be? Like exact speedy fast linebacker that can cover and it can blitz and make sacks. Right. Paul in Massachusetts. Scotty. Yeah. What's up? Hey, manny. First of all, I Celtic's are plus seven and a half. I don't wanna say it's a loss. But the cell. Seven and a half take the south take south. When is when is the first game Carver? All playing at the guard share has play. She's like eight years old. So so the share has a concert all their plane in Milwaukee. Yeah, they're playing a Milwaukee for two games. So what does she is? Sunday, Milwaukee laying seven and a half. You know, I'll be honest with you read the first time, I look at it. The first time I look at it. This is it right now. I would think the bucks can handle that number. I think they can handle that number. Now, I think the Saudis can play against them and compete against them at a high level in this series. Let's see how they do in game one in that building. Because if look at Milwaukee's as great as everybody thinks they are right. Are they not the top seed in the number one? Everybody's got automatic will then they should win that game by ten or twelve points, if they're so bad ass because let's face facts. They have been laying people out to sleep. I mean, listen one Twenty-one one Twenty-one nineteen and one twenty seven in the sweep I mean, they are about belittle rating people, but I know the pistons suck, but look at the numbers they put up it doesn't matter who they play a score. I think that team scores. Buck ten on a bad day on a. Bad day. The buck score a Buckton on a good dinner scoring a buck twenty-five about thirty in their games. So am I going to be surprised at off? They beat the Celtics points. Not at all. I won't be surprised at all. I actually on. I look on first Blance I'd probably late in game one with the with the box. They have to stop ads in Sokoto. And that's easier ways here said than done. Good luck with that. He's a monster..

"And kinda use it as motivation because you hear so often that well, I was the seventeenth of the eighteenth or whatever. So the sixteen teams had a chance to take me, and they didn't do it. And they carry that around for the rest of their career or you that kind of guy are you just going to be happy where you go where you go. Just having go go have everybody's getting picked tonight. You know, the big thing everybody, you know, everybody in the same position. Obviously guys don't go needed and saliva team at need me. No. They can trace me man to put a system. Let me go to work. So, you know. And I'm just looking. -tunities this that you don't a team. Celebrate this moment with my family when you take a look around LSU, obviously, it's a deep program number of quarterbacks coming out at a draft every single year. What do you what do you rank yourself amongst to great LSU DB's that are entered into the NFL? Me. I think I'm like top three players, you know, coming from time. You know, he told me rank high with those guys that they've a very hard to Phnom ready. Like, I say this team gets it his minicamp dumbing. You go to the Combi you have your pro day. And then reportedly you kinda shut it down as far as you being on tour. Why did you why did you choose not to visit any teams at the approach? It was a toys team. So I had a great depression doing my own a former interviews they knew I knew the game. They news. You know? I knew what lie, you know? They knew that he knew the game with us. So I think that migration. No put no great impression with them. And they feel like they need to tell me anything, greedy Williams. Great LSU DV joining us here on the morning show, greedy. I know what I bought with my first check about my mama house. What are you going to buy with that? I check. I take nugget mom career state. You know, make sure family straight, and they of myself like I what my family now and be here in. No don't want know part of me died to. Hello. Thank nobody gonna set his moment. The get in make sure by straight. So you take care everybody else. Very very Admiral. What's the first thing? You're gonna get for you. So you know, I put into my mind yet. We looked together. I'm not gonna give you a nice tonight. Toyota, not any what we was looking at. Greedy Williams LSU quarterback. All. If PS for life. Awesome. Awesome. That's that's that's to be an amazing feeling to not just hear your name called and not just go up there and have that. But now, you know, what I can take care of all the people that took care of me. That's. In it happens, so often it happens so often in sports didn't like sports in a lottery or two things that like just bam. I mean, it is like you you go to college for three years or whatever. And in in you do that or you go scratch a little thing the lottery, and then all of a sudden, you'll make account looks different like tonight. I don't know what he has in his Bank account assay has thousand dollars bike account. Well, I know to give by August his Bank account school look different to Dylan different. Just the way different yesterday. I had an opportunity to interview some boxers who are fighting Friday at the form for one of them grew up in Thailand is world champion now. But he grew up in Thailand, the story goes he walked sixty miles through poverty to get to Bangkok to get a job at a garbage, man. And he grew up he learned that'd be a good fighter. And now, he's obviously world champion, blah, blah. And I asked him the question. What was the first big thing that you bought once she started making money, and he says I still feel like a poor kid and everything's expensive. She had really spent any money is so amazing to me watching athletes who go from poverty to riches, how choose to handle it some guys know their reports as to try to same.

"Daniel Jeremiah Stephen chase. Oh, he's a colleague of your your guys. Now, he's got his last question for you guys before we let you go. All right guys, so greedy Williams, most polarizing player in the draft. Everybody's all over the board of them male. You had him ranked really high going into the pre-draft process. Now, we're seeing potential second round people questioning his work ethic lack of tackling toughness. Where do you guys sit on him right now as for the trees, a hard one? He's a hard because he had a stinger early. He maybe was thinking third year sophomore Itis instead of senior ideas, maybe thinking about saying healthy getting through the year because he wasn't one hundred percents. I'm gonna get hurt even more. But I wanna finish thing out. I don't know what was going. But tackling was an issue now in some games during his career. He did tackle better. He ran for three. He's got the obviously the height and the ability to be a could cover corner will he be a one dimensional player in the NFL. We don't know if he is he's not gonna play for a long because a lot you gotta tackle in this league with the bubble. Screens short passes the extension of the running game to these receivers. You've got to be able to tackle you can't play with ten men. So he's a he's another one like we talked about where for Sean, Gary decay medcalf kind of a boomer bus. But I think he goes to Kansas City at the end of the first round. Okay. The end of the first. Tackler? Ooh, tough picks and chooses when he wants to tackle. And that like Mel Senate, not a it's not an endearing trait. But there are teams like Kansas City that absolutely need speed. And he's got four threes. He's got length over six one. And he's a guy that just can turn his hips and run with anybody and those guys are hard to find. So I think he's going to be first round pick. But I think it's going to be in the twenty twenty to thirty two rather than what we thought early on top ten Todd. We talked about it at the two teams that you would think would take a corner would look at him probably won't because you think Steelers you think ready Williams when you're not healers the fake, greedy Williams when you're Jon Gruden and the raiders Jon Gruden will read for all those can't have a corner tackle. So the two teams if you're projecting this guys, you wouldn't put greedy Williams to necessarily would be the Steelers twenty and then the raiders those two picks with twenty four I think twenty seven all right guys. Thank you so much. I draft is their pod. Cast Todd McShane Mel kiper. You'll see them on Thursday night. We appreciate it. This was a great little I into the world of of the relationship of Todd mcshay Mel kiper, I could hear you all the time one of these as we dig a little deeper than it. Right. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Come back into it. Again, I can tell you a lot of good things about Todd is you have no clue about its out one gripe on on first draft. Let's have no more tape it in your car on the side of the road. No more. No more. Waiting eating during the show. And then when you when you post the podcast links, no more broken links. All right. Yeah. Sounds like you need to produce. Are you England for a producer job on that show? Right now, you're you're actually talking to Stephen j who went I think you said I can actually hear the competence growing talking. Right. Yeah. "Tucker. All right. Gregg, it is the last positional breakdown of our draft series. It's been awesome people. Of course, can always go back and check out all the other position groups over at Ross, Tucker dot com. It's been awesome. We've got the corners and the safeties today. But before we get to them. I just wanna get a quick thought from you or breakdown. Russell Wilson signed a contract that makes him the highest paid player in NFL history. And we all know how that works. Use the next quarterback up to get a contract, but I did say, Greg. You know with him having a five year contract. I'm not sure there's another quarterback. I'd rather have for the next five years. I think obviously, you could say Mahomes, but you know, Mahomes has tyreek hill and Travis Kelsey is only done at one year and read all that stuff. So I just wanted to get your thoughts. Your breakdown of Russell Wilson the things that make him so special in some areas where maybe he could still improve. Well, I think the thing that strikes me the most Ross and this isn't necessarily a function of Russell Wilson per se. But it's what the Seahawks decided to do offenses a year ago, which is very very interesting because essentially what they decided to do a year ago, and there's and we don't know all the reasons for it. So when I'm about to say is not necessarily a function of Russell Wilson. But they essentially went to a run game I offense and they made Russell Wilson a complementary piece in the offense. Now, I know when you look at social media. There's a lot of people who think that the Seahawks? Did absolutely the wrong thing and taking that approach because Russell Wilson in their mind is a great great player. But you know, Pete Carroll knows Russell Wilson better than you. And I and I just found it absolutely fascinating. As to how they chose to play offense. You know, given that Russell Wilson is the quarterback because they he threw the fewest passes. I believe last year of any year. He's been in the league. And they don't want to say that they were trying to hide Russell Wilson. But clearly he was not the foundation of their offense. So I found that very interesting. I agree. And I wondered how much of it had to do with the offense of line and trying to get those guys back on track. Well, actually, right. And I wonder how much of that was because they were so committed to the run game. And because that was how they decided to run the offense. And also, you know, they researched narrow a lot of pieces on defense. Maybe they just wanted to make sure those guys weren't on the field as much I don't know. No, there's I mean, look, there's many reasons, and then if I said some may have nothing to do with Russell Wilson is obviously very very good throw over the football dynamic athlete who can make plays outside of structure and then just killing demoralized the defense by doing. So he's a terrific deep ball thriller. One of the best in the league. Clearly, so, you know, we're not suggesting that here. He's a quarterback that lacks from a skill set. Perspective. He'll always leave throws on the field where he doesn't pull the trigger simply because he can't see them. But that's part of his game. And you just understand that. So it it's a fascinating dynamic in Seattle. Let's put it. That way. Yeah. It really is one of the things they like, Greg or historically. They've liked is a length at the cornerback position and size. And so that's a good segue into the corners and greedy Williams from LSU, which is interesting, Greg. It seems like there's there's a wide variance of opinion on greedy Williams. I guess I thought during the college football season he was like a top five top ten pick. And I don't know. Maybe he still will be. But there's some people that aren't as high on him for whatever reason. Yeah. I mean, you hit it right on the head. He's got the size lane speed profile that NFL teams look for it outside corner. Every team would like that. He's six two obviously, he's only about one eighty five one ninety but he really can run. He's got some balance issues. I think that he needs a little more disciplined in his approach. But again, he's a younger kid, maybe that comes with coaching that will be very dependent on where he goes. But his length and his speed to run with the vertical route Ross will appeal to all teams, and then makes him valuable now again you and I don't know, greedy Williams. I don't he's a young guy. I don't know about the maturity level. I don't know about those kinds of things. But he without question has the skill set and the traits that you look for in and outside corner in the NFL when you say balanced, Greg like, you know, coming out of his break instead of me coming out of mankind's, and he'd get on his heels a little bit at times when he transitioned don't forget he's kinda long and lengthy and sometimes he's not contact and sometimes those guys tend at times to have balance and body control issues, which in college they can compensate in camouflage. But in the NFL against better receivers, it's not quite as easy to do that. What about a guy who's about the same weight as greedy Williams, but at least three inches shorter in Byron Murphy from Washington. Byron Murphy's a very interesting player because you know, he's shorter. Obviously, he's got very quick feet. Very good movement. He did not play a lot of press coverage. Now there are snaps in which he did. And he played it reasonably, well, and coaches might look at that and say, hey, then we we have a baseline with which to to get him to play press man 'cause somewhere in the NFL if you're going to play on the outside, and and Murphy may also be considered a slot guy. But if you're going to play on the outside you going to have to play press man, he played a ton of off coverage. You know it. It's very difficult to evaluate a corner. Who does not play much press at all? And like I said there are snaps and he did it well at times, but he's an he played predominantly off coverage. I'll be very anxious to see if. Seen as an outside corner or as a slot corner. Yeah. I I will. Well, we'll be curious to see what the what the reaction is Murphy. What about the Andre Baker? He's another guy, Greg. I don't know. Maybe it's just the SEC thing. But he's another guy I felt like during the season when you watch LSU or Georgia gain. They would talk about the Andrey Baker like he was going to be a top ten pick. And now, it doesn't seem like that's the case. What would you see from the young man at Georgia? I like him. He was kinda guy that you had to watch a lot of. And you know, the more you watch the more. I liked him. I mean, some will see him as a little smaller than ideal at five eleven and some will say he doesn't have that sudden explosive movement than many teams look for on the outside. But I think the more you watch him Ross the more you see technically-efficient fundamentally sound corner he can play multiple coverage concepts. He doesn't get beat. He can play press. He can play off. He plays. More of what we call Mira match pressman. Where he he doesn't necessarily jam the receivers physically, but he just mirrored them in runs with them. Some may seem as a slot corner prospect, I don't know I thought there were similarities in his play and just as overall consistency of execution to credential white when he came in balance, you what do you think it is about him that that has not as high as as maybe I thought he would be five eleven four or five two forty yard. Dash not sudden per se in the way, we think of some corners. I think those things for some people will be I don't wanna say red flags, but we'll just they may see him as as not a high level prospect due to that. At that. That makes perfect sense. Because a lot of people do think corners a a measurable position and read it has pretty good measurable 's. He's down there near Philly with you, Greg. It's rock Yaas sin temple. He's also got an awesome name. I mean, just the name itself should be enough to carry them along way. Yeah. I, you know, he's now again, he's a guy that he's just about six feet. One ninety two didn't run great. But he's he's a rocked up kinda guy. Obviously his name is rock, but he's kinda rocked up. Played significant snap suppress, man. I would say he's a guy that's more of a mirror match pressman corner than physical press man corner. He was very good in that and locking onto the the inside hip or the receiver and staying with him throughout the route. I would say that the baseline tracer there for him to be really good at that. You know, I. Think that he can also playoff coverage. Again, the issues with him for some would be that the overall traits in terms of twitchy sudden movement, sometimes not as smooth and fluid as you'd like some people might see this and think that, hey, he's not quite you know, maybe he's not a top forty pick because of that. But he's got some traits and we'll see any other corners that really stand out to you. Greg Trayvon Molin, John Williams, Julian love, Chris Boyd anybody else that a lot of those guys. Williams from Vanderbilt really was interesting to me big kid, another kid who didn't run great necessarily. And you know, then you get into that whole issue. Some teams look at that. And say, okay, that's a big problem. I think he's a prototypical press corner with his size his lane physicality profile. He's actually a smooth mover for size. He's he's over six three and ways to eleven this may be extreme. But I the guy he kinda reminded me of and the way he could be utilized and deployed in the NFL was Avia roads. I think he's a boundary corner. That's what I think. John Williams is he's a boundary corner who can play pressman and the other corners before we move onto the safeties. Well, there's a bunch of you know, I I was really intrigued by a kid who you know, again. I never know where guys are going to go as you. Well know, I was really liked to kick from central Michigan. Sean bunting. I I loved his tape. I think that he could be you know, I think he can play press, man. And I think you can play bail off coverage as well. So I mean, I he's a kid. I really really like I don't know where he'll go. He's over six feet. You know, there's there's a he does have length to him. So he was he was a corner that I liked a lot on bunting central Michigan.

"Three forty three in the AM Tony page and family taking you all the way to five forty. Yeah. I think I will find time to look at zero hours sometime. This looking at. I mean, I'm just looking at it on YouTube side by side with no audio. And anytime the pictures of the same thing, they stole everything everything. And then we're just saying that some of it is line for line and the guy that wrote their our role L at Albro screenplay for wrote the book airport. Good lord. That's author. Haley didn't he light roots? Oh, brother. That's I'm surprised. This hasn't been more often found some cheesy Mobutu from the fifties. And I think maybe it's just it's just everything has to sort of fall into place. And this may just been one of those magical things of man, it's it's just the camera angles. A little bit a little kid walks into the clock. But I'm like, oh, no, no. So that's we've coming up to their dead period in sports in February something for people to go away. We'll discuss it later. Let's go to JR in union New Jersey JR you're on the fan. Tony. How you doing? All right, man. How are you? Okay. Hey Lewis last year was married to Woody Allen. Dated a married. Okay. Yeah. They were married and movies lesser plane. Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman. And she she hosts the San I live in a band of nobody's ever seen the tape since here. Right Lorna, Mike didn't didn't like her. Yeah. And Woody Allen pesto remark about her on the dick show after they divorced. She sued him. Do you remember Woody Allen used to be on the I remember to carry show? Yeah. Yeah. I liked the cabinet show, you know, is geared towards like a younger audience and show, you know. Yeah. So anyway, listen, Tony talked about the jet, sir. I've been a jets fan now for fifty years and what three days. Yeah. Since the Super Bowl three. And you know, the one thing I noticed flash peer the one glaring problem with the jets was the secondary. I mean, everybody says pass rush pass rush. Clayborn screen Roberts Tremaine Johnson. They couldn't cover my grandmother, you know, through through the just got a lot of money too. I would ask Brian post posts can they cut him? He said, no, I think I think with him at least twenty twenty with the contract Tremaine Johnson. Yeah. Yeah. But clayborn the free agent screens for free agent Roberson a free agent. So you know, what I'm thinking? I don't know if they can get the Ford more. I don't know if they can get clowney or pass rusher as a free agent. But I think what they should do is trade down and get a couple of couples cornerback free safety. That's healthy. Somebody like agree. He Williams is big cornerback. I think they still need an edge rusher. But then again, maybe Greg Williams the type of guy that can light a fire under the guise. They have now because I you know, the Monday I keep reading over and over you ain't buying into the program. You got no use for you. So you know, what Tony? I remember, the grit splits. Right grits blitz. Yes. Now, listen you can blitz if you have corners who can cover the the wide receivers tight end. Because now you're talking timing. If you got these guys blanketed the quarterback doesn't have that much time. You have a better chance to get him. You're right. If the Corner's can't cover anybody quarterback, you know, you can have the greatest Russian the world, but he's going to get rid of the ball fast because they're open, right? Right. So greedy Williams you sign like you draft. Another cornerback you signed another cornerback. You know? I mean, I would trade down. And I wanna ask you something. And then I'll let you go. Would you make a trade with the giants? Would you with the jets trade down to the giants? So the giants can get their quarterback and then possibly get the giants pick. And maybe even stink stinking jackrabbit. Second round pick. I don't think they would. I think it's something similar to the Mets in the. I don't know if they really wanna do the deal because if everything goes wrong, it's lives forever. Not just just just for this year. But I think the other thing that's going to be curious free agents on the market. How many of them want to play for great Williams? You know, we always talk about the with the with the Knicks, for instance, is say, why would Kevin Durant? Want to go to the Knicks when you could go to the nets and probably be the number one seed in the east you come to the Knicks. It's a rebuilding job. Guy says you I like Greg Williams and I play for him before. And you know, he might rejuvenate. Some of these guys who are out to might be free agency. Maybe the best years with or maybe they've always wanted to play with them. But I think you know. Williams, probably knows dejected team just as well as anybody else, and he'll say wiseguy on person watch this guy on on film, and just you know. Now, my not my Cup of tea and be very interesting to see how he saw molding the defense because I know it's going to be aggressive, but you need aggressive players. And if you're lackadaisical, you ain't gonna be around much longer. It's gonna Terry on Armenia, Terry. How are you? Thank you. Tony. How are you? All right. Oh, we're dating ourselves. When you mentioned, Jerry Mathers. How old are you? Always gotta be swift seventy now some. Exactly the same age. Was born on June. Second nineteen forty eight. Okay. I'm seventy if you remember those TV shows you're not far behind. Laugh when you. What we're talking about airplane hero? Our? Anybody noticed that brand new copyright infringement lawsuits? He said they bought the rights for like twenty five hundred dollars. That's that's fine. And of course now. Youtube. Nobody thought about that. It's coming back to haunt everybody. But with a smile on their face. Crown out orange. I have a question for you. Do you think? Are your Email factors the owners or the ancient with respect to these high roller baseball players who have contracting probably the agents because I'm sure that the setting the bar, you you you telling you your client what they almost what they what they like to hear? You know, we're going to get you the highest contract. That's what hire you for. And the owners like no, we're not doing that. And I think that's where the problem comes. When will you promise in your guy? Let's say two hundred million and team is often you one hundred million and that's the highest gotten. How do you go back to the players that? Well, we got we're gonna figure something out because we're gonna wait. We'll get you more money. But you know, maybe maybe there's not any more money to come. And then you wind up taking a one year deal to prove yourself all over again. Of course. Oh. Downs. The most the biggest being the potential for serious injury. I mean, you take the whiskey. That's the case in point. You would think that somebody like Machado or Bryce Harper would retain look if they're willing to give me thirty million dollars a year, I'll painted years. Yeah. I was reading something grand del of with the dodgers. Why he turned down the offer? He said it was almost like insulting. Because so many guys before me made so much money, and I didn't feel like I should be taking a step back. And I'm like, what are you doing? It for yourself is not the legacy of catchers. Is you ever whatever you can get for yourself? If you're not if you're not happy with the deal, just say, you're not happy with the deal. My attitude towards it. Yeah. I mean, if you can't provide for your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren on water. Evers left after you've paid your taxes your agent and everything else on thirty million dollars a year. I think there's something wrong with you. Yeah. You got a chance for generational wealth. Which means, you know, you got, you know, you're taking care of your kids are taking care of your grandkids that kind of money, you know. What do you quibbling about you know, 'cause what you didn't get an extra five million or, you know? I'm now retired. But I was a trusted states lawyer and. The estate planning. You shoots that people like these players. Is really quite extraordinary and quite daunting. And you touched put your finger on a couple of times over the years. You may distract. But there's always somebody in the family. I have the expertise. Let me handle the violence. Often causes problems. And of course, you have to say. These people don't have time to manage their own house. Roll true true. They need people to do that. Expenses are very great. But still admitting. If I were told. Fifty million over spread over five years. I'm not holding out for thirty million over ten years and three hundred million man is worth doing. Yep. You're right. So anyway, you're despite serving you say, well, my friend. Thanks. Thanks a lot. It's it's it's going to do the same thing that had last year they had their camp. We're all the the unsigned show up and the scouts and executives can see what what they got. I'm still confused. Why why I thought Machado and Harper would be done by now. And my only my only. Question is did you promise x and you couldn't deliver? And so now you're trying to save face. Well, you know because. If you're Machado, for instance, the Yankees, look good. Philly looks good. The White Sox. No, I might as well. Stay in in Baltimore. We're not gonna win anything there. Either. Eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six more football baseball. We come back. Thirty four million Americans smoke that's about.

"That he had been informed that Baker was going to get ready for the NFL draft. He is ranked eleventh on the big board by KAI for the second draft eligible cornerback behind greedy Williams played such a critical role. And usually you see this in a maybe a second tier bowl, but the Sugar Bowl is anything. But that so. So some surprising news from New Orleans today about the Andre Baker. And certainly not good news. If you're Georgia bulldog fan, we are going to get back to the phone calls here at eight five five to four to seven to eight five. Right now. Guys where we going. Kevin Nash, Kevin is up next. Eight ball. How are you? We are doing great Paul. I I'm a I'm a Notre Dame fan that lives in Nashville. But I've over the years been able to see some pretty good football game down here in the south. And I was able to go to that two thousand twelve game in Tuscaloosa when Johnny Manziel Nagy's came to town. And I was just wondering I know there's a lot of differences between that within MTA was really really strong on both sides of the ball in the Oklahoma team Cuyler Murray, and Johnny Mandel seem to have a similar skill set. The do you see any similarities between those two guys in my Lisa problems for Alabama. I do, but but I think you have to remember something back then Nick Sabin altered his philosophy because he was getting gashed quite a bit. Remember Cam Newton beat him in in in ten Johnny. Did it he ran into it again with with other players. And he he began to to try to focus on that by doing what by coming up with an offense that could score as well to help capture that. So I don't think there's any any doubt that. That was the recipe to beat Alabama. But I don't think it's the recipe anymore. All know if Alabama lose this game. We'll hear a lot about that. Would you just got through saying? Yeah, I'm sure, and you know, that atmosphere in that stadium that night something I'll never. I remember being that I that was one of the I will tell you. I I remember sitting down the press box that afternoon it was week after the LSU game, and I looked down. And I I wasn't sure I think it was twenty one nothing, and I don't I've never seen that that stadium as stunned. Or or encountering stunned? Silence. Is that afternoon? And what was interesting as you. As you. Remember Alabama had a chance to win that game at the end couldn't pull it off. And that that was that was a game that really define the Texas. Am program, and the fact that Alabama three two weeks later not three weeks two weeks later was able to get back in the national championship race was maybe the biggest surprise of that season. Thank you very much for the call. We are live in Miami. We're going to have a fascinating conversation coming up Chris Lowe who has covered Nick Sabin and has been as close to Emma's.

"The opportunity to speak. I'm listening to you on siriusxm sex. First of all, I'm going to be honest with you. Had a problem with McCaffrey when he did it at Stanford. But looking back on it. I always say that the worst thing say about an athlete is a good and be compete, but athlete served her a warrior wrong all the time. There are worse things. I've changed my view on this teams that are six and six six and five playing in these points set of balls or the US have been outback walls and not to criticize any any sponsor. No reason there's no reason for the kid to be flying in all the senior bowl and the rest of these after season bulls. He's never chance for guys who may not or may have been overlooked in the upcoming NFL draft for a chance to play. Whether it's this Ryan bull or anything else. But you can't criticize a kid who's thinking about his huger anymore than I would criticize the high school kid who didn't wanna play in. The army bull wanna play in. The all American bore the California Texas bowl didn't want to showcase his talents. You can't blame the kid. It's a multimillion dollar industry at schools are making money hand over fist street agents are making money hand over fist. Not the kid. Doesn't wanna play in a bowl game or excuse me in the BCS game. I got a little bit of a problem with that. Because I'd say we're here together, we're here for duration, whatever side to side, battlefield, whatever you want. You know, analogy you want you could question somebody's heart. If they didn't want to play for a championship. We haven't gotten to that point college football yet. Most of these players who I've talked about are skipping out on lower tier a middle tier bowl games. Maybe some upper echelon bowls, but not the college football playoff. Sean Gary at Michigan skipping the peach bowl, greedy Williams skipping. The festival was our upper-echelon bulls. But they're not the college football playoff. Coach is cut out on their teams all the time. They don't live up to their end of the contract. Is it in the scholarship to say you have to play in the bowl game? If it does let me see it show it to me. Let me see where it says that. Here's less in Illinois. He's on CBS sports radio. Baker joined the show. Professor. So I have a different perspective on this. Let's consider university simplistically as a minor league in athletics. It location for education. These student athletes come to the university because it's a minor league. They're not gonna major in physics or engineering. They get a minor league. And it's much better different from baseball where you're traveling a bus for three or four years, and you hope to get invited to spring training. If these guys do, well, they know they stand in line to get generational wealth. Yup. But there's another aspect of this. There's the mall contract when a team wins a bowl, the alumni porn millions and millions of dollars more money than anyone except a wealthy benefactor who perhaps fund sounds a research institution on campus or library or new hall. Money comes to the university. And it supports the academic programs of the university the English department humanities these kinds of departments. Do not get any research money. They rely on alumni donations and tuition, and you're saying that. Hold on hold on. That's not all tied into winning bowl games. It's not like you've got alumni that are they have a suit. They've got a briefcase of a million dollars, and they're withholding it unless a team wins the sun bowl or the point set of Boll or the pinstripe bowl. The money, but there's a solution. If the student athlete decides not to participate in the ball, and he gets a multi million dollar contract. Let the professional team who signed him reimbursed now come on stop. This isn't a utopia. I understand that big time college football that if profitable and most in the big ones are the big programs are the little ones aren't a lot of a lot of the a lot of these programs. We're talking about lose money on their bowl trips, and that's been well documented these bowl these bowls, especially these lower tier bowls that don't sell out and don't have alumni basis that go on trips and fill the stadium. A lot of those schools lose out big time. Lose a lot of money. And so the idea here that the football player owes it to the school to play in the bowl game. Because they're the state of enac department depends on it. I reject that entirely. You're going to now put that on the plate or on the shoulders of a kid. You're twenty years old if you don't play in this ball game, we're going to have to fire philosophy professors. Please. Don't put that on the conscious or the don't don't make that a factor in the decision making process for a young twenty year old. Well, if this is the route, you wanna go, okay, we're going to have to clean house here and get rid of some of our tenured professors because we can't afford them anymore. That's ridiculous. Charles in Virginia, you're on CBS sports radio. Hi, charles. Hey, how you doing Andrew? Thank you for taking my call. Sure. Hey, I I wanted I want a I got a lot of things what address, but let me just get right to it lifting everybody talks about moral obligations. They talk about the contracts. Listen. Or year to get a college degree is hard enough to do when you don't have to go to practice weight training team meetings. And then all the other things divall always playing college athletics. Okay. So colleges are legitimately giving out scholarships. How about what the kid is done with his eligibility to play. How about this ship includes two more years eighty four by the school? So that if the guy chooses to get this degree piracy and college sports is so overwhelming is actually almost comical, you know, you talk about you just talked about the teams lose money a lot of things where they go through the bowl. Well, guess what? Everybody's traveling to coach's wives or traveling, the administrators wives. Are traveling coaches are the ones who love it the coaches in these love it because they've got bonuses in their contracts qualify for bowls. But to go to them, but guess who doesn't get to travel on the on the on the schools because all these other people are traveling on the school. The parents of the kids were playing in the bowl. The school can't pay them off. Either Pierre play. Yeah, you're right about that. You're right about that. You're right. I know someone that's paying his own way to a bowl game at Texas this hard to get to there's going to be all kinds of different flight connections. We're talking about probably thousands of dollars in travel expenses. You do it because your kids playing and his last game. Do we label coaches quitters when they take a promotion? And.

"Iran. The LSU head coach on corner, greedy Williams who is skipping LSU's fiesta bowl against central Florida. More on them later. Citing family decision. He's a top ten pick projected to be the first defensive back off the board and the draft. All the experts have them there. Go check out, you know, NFL dot com or CBS sports dot com Mel kiper Todd mcshay, anybody who studies the draft tells you this is a can't miss kid. So he's following Leonard. For nets footsteps for the same thing at LSU for that was also a father, a young dad had somebody else to think of and how could anybody out there argue with that? How could anybody call it a selfish decision when the player is doing something that he thinks is in the best interest of a child? Somebody that's putting family first. It's more important your blood. The people you provide for and care for. Or college football coach who have given a better job. Given a better opportunity. More money would leave in a second blow off his obligation to the school. The New Orleans Saints call that orange Girondins and said, we want you to replace Sean Payton, and we're going to double your salary. You think he'd he'd think about greedy Williams commitment? He made to him. Hell, no. That's what I don't get about. College sports. Anybody out there who gets on the players for not living up to their obligation or their end of the bargain. Well, who does do the the college presidents? Do the coaches do the commissioners of the conferences? No, they all leave for greed. It's ironic that the guy's name is, greedy Williams. Because that's the name of the game in college sports. It's all about money. So when a kid makes a decision that's motivated by money. He's a bad guy. They're supposed to be the only ones in college sports who are pure the kids who play the game. Guy goes out there in a bowl game has a Earl Thomas like situation where he breaks his leg. "And if they can have offense of production. Here's the problem when you play Ella bamadoro, Paul. We they're seemingly narrative that Allah. Bama has taken a step back defensively. Right. You you do suffer a little bit. When you have a really good offense. Because most of the time the psychology of a player is we can take chances because our office is going to score eighty five percent of the time. They had a football. So everybody is that's kind of been a narrative that's been building about LSU having a shot LSU up into this point head. So me anything outside of Georgia gain that they could have an explosive offense enough to beat Alabama now with that being said. This will be the best defense that Alabama's face. And I know we've talked about how off its is the receivers and all of that they'll be matchups in this game. That'd be Vialli important one that I have my is on how many times were Judy b- lined up with greeted Williams how involved with grand they'll be in defending the pass and coming down into the box and stopping the run. And so there there are some narratives and some scenarios in this game where you could see it being close in the fourth quarter. If things work out for LSU in their way. But based on everything we've seen up into this point. There's nobody close to Alabama for four quarters in college football. I don't see how you'd be. I really don't LSU doesn't have the firepower offensively nothing that I've seen from LSU makes me think they can score forty forty five fifty points again. Now, I know they scored thirty six against Georgia. Georgia was minus four and the turnover margin. I just have a really hard time envisioning a situation where Alabama turns the ball over that many times. They're too good at protecting the football. Now. I love the personnel that. LSU has on defense, and they're going to play a lot of man coverage. The man coverage has been Burt by this wide receiver core because the match ups are just too difficult to try to determine greedy Williams, six three two hundred pounds really long. Great against big receivers. He put them against a guy like J. Jalen Waddell, who's five eleven one eighty and can run four three four low four three that's a tough match-up for greedy Williams. So I like this defense better than any defense that Alabama seen to this point. But the only way to beat Alabama is to have an offense that can match them blow for blow, and there's only a couple offenses in college football that I can envision doing that one is Oklahoma who if they played Alabama. It would be a track. Meet it might be sixty six fifty two or sixty six sixty it could be that it really could another is Clemson with the way they're playing on the side of the football. They can rush the passer and Trevor Lawrence and that offense continues to grow. But those are the only two right now that I genuinely think can. Score with Alabama without making the Kittle mistake that every team has a tendency to make. Just look I'm will say this you put this. I will be shocked if Alabama scored forty five points. It'll shock me in this game..
