"You know, again, my whole thing, you know where I start with and you went, what did you do? Michigan, UCLA, okay, so I wouldn't have got Michigan because I don't know how good Devante Jones is yet. And for me, and I said, I'm going on a limb. Yeah, I'm going off potential. I need to know point guard situations. And I'm not saying like James akin just the greatest point guard in the world or neither one, but they're both veterans. They've been around a while now, both of them. They both gone through some diversity, right? I mean, I can't just started Georgetown. Didn't work out for him there at all. Goes to Arizona, playing with a bunch of young international guys kind of frustrating there. Now he's a culture guy a bailer, right? They bring him in and you become a culture guy and, you know, just it's hard to go against Baylor. I mean, it's hard to go against him. Kendall brands terrific as a freshman. Flagler. You know, I don't know who's got her for them. LJ carrier's out for the year? No, it's the Langston love. Oh, last look. Yeah. Prior was great in their scrims. Great. Good, man. He's waiting his turn. He may get it. He may get some of it. I mean, he's not gonna get 35 minutes, but I meant last year. Yeah. He's gonna play some this year for them. You will. And Meyer, I guess Matthew Meyers probably The X Factor, right? Love it. Love has game. Who doesn't love his game, right? I mean, everybody probably wants people to hear that love consistency, mine. The guy that's gonna bring it a 110% of the play is my not. They're gonna love this talent, but, you know. But you would have loved to have had you never had that green light. I mean, you never had that conscience, I should say. You had a conscience. Much more when I missed shots..

"All right seven hundred ninety nine or foxborough turned away in Do you think received was underestimating underrating. Lebron had he played in the nineties would have just been able to hold his own. I let's kick it off with a lawrence in orlando. You're on the odd couple fox sports radio. Hey chris rob thank you very much for have with a pleasure talking to you guys always love you guys job Sorry the bronco. I think what she meant. hold his own i think. Something that some Sometimes we don't talk about the mental aspect of playing in the nineties and the mental aspect that comes with a physical toll that it was associated with the kind of basketball that was played. And i feel like that's something that has been a question. People have had lebron mental toughness. And i think that becoming a dominant player in this era may require a slight lesser level of mental toughness that it did then due to the level of physicality that most of those players played with so he may be holding his own. I don't think she's not saying. Lebron isn't a great great basketball player but the difference being being dominant basketball player in that time period little bit level a level of mental toughness. That may not exist at this time and this era well fail the yeah and i think again you know i think lebron i do think is mentally tough player but i think people look at what happened against dallas in twenty eleven and hold that against him for his whole career but i think he'd learn grew from that and magic. Remember rob in eighty three eighty four. He had the real just a horrible series against the celtics. Greatest point guard ever dribbled out the clock and bad passes and turnovers and they were calling. You tragic johnson. That was kind of a mitchell. Mentally was out of it and of course he bounced back. So i i do. Think the greatest of the great which lebron magic art and a few others they They can even get mentally tougher because the game and excelling at the game means so much to them. And i think that's what lebron did and i think that's what he would have done. Had he played back then but good yup good call their lawrence. Appreciate you in orlando. What about just in phoenix urine. The couple fox sports radio. What up justin fellas. Y'all are.

"So doesn't that suck. I had that for a long time. There was someone who had george sodano. So i couldn't use it and then i had many years ago i had sodano show and then it became saddam. Espn and then. Eventually i was able to just get sodano which was fantastic. Now i may have pushed Somebody out that wasn't using their count there. Perhaps i may have I may have done that. But the account was inactive. It was just somebody who is squatting on it. So i'm like no way bro. I want that so you can do it. Laura i mean you know maybe we can I know some people at twitter. I'll look at you. It's good to know people that know people scott kaplan's got scotland. But let me tell you george. I don't have scott kaplan on tick-tock which is why i had to go with scott kaplan nine right. It's funny about that. I remember when i first joined twitter. I thought this is so dumb. I'll never use this. No one cares what i'm eating. Or when i'm going to the bathroom blah blah blah and ultimately happened was i was like you know what though it would be good to just get my name and feel like whoever's got greg bergman is also squatting. They've never tweeted. They have zero followers and following zero people. Yup zero zero. Let me have that. Yeah in march of two thousand eighteen. How did you get that before bergman. Because it wasn't available then it wasn't available back then. Either was another squatter i went. I went to greg bergman. I and that's why. I switched in did bergman greg because i couldn't get greg bergman maybe perhaps we will get you both your name figure. That would be awesome. You know people hell. Maybe we'll make this happen. I will try. I will reach out to the people that make. That can make this thing happen. Can you give me a little blue checkmark. I mean maybe maybe let's get crazy okay. You're getting the name. I'll take the night. I don't really care about the checkmark everybody wants. This checkmark are harder to come by now. Believable dated really quickly. Though i have an intern has been working for me forever and the kid just graduated college and i don't know what he did or how he did it but he just got himself a blue checkmark and i was like he doesn't have like a lot of followers or anything but somehow someway this kid worked his way into a check mortgage fresh out of school. You got to know people and to so before. All you needed was like a company's email. That's how i got mine an espn or whatever other company you worked for. That's what you would get it. Maybe that's got it so we'll work on that. What you need to know is brought to you by morongo casino resort. Good times less than ninety minutes from wherever you are. i mean. listen. I'm not gonna be around much in august so i i'm not going to -sarily working on this for the fall. How about that. Is that fair for football season. Yeah exactly exactly perfect real quick. We got a lot of people want to chime in on this kenley situation so we will continue to take those calls at eight seven seven seven ten pm. Eight seven seven seven seven three seven seven six but since we were talking dodgers and we just did this. Lakers dodgers combo story about lakers. Dead dodger stadium. I wanna have a quick lakers conversation. Very quickly laura. You can find the oscar. Robertson sounds so oscar robertson. The big right one of the greatest point guard steph play in. Nba history was talking about jaanus right and basically saying that nobody can stop on his. Although he did say one particular laker could stop janas. Let's hear the big. Oh i don't know who can stop him. The only person i think had this is to give give a decent chance of garden. Yana is a d- From the lakers. No one else cause. I don't see any other player that they will. That's going to able to handle yon chance. Not not ten. Stop him not can offset him. He's got a decent chance of competing against him. Right right. I well look. I do think that. Anthony davis i've said before is a bit of the cheat code right as i like to call him i. I'm trier. look. I know i saw. Actually there was somebody who did a story on this. Not that long. Here i go. I found it defense against janas combo the guy who has the best defense against jaanus historically as bamut a bio. It's like thirty eight percent or somebody. That joel embiid was second. Tristan thompson was third is ad in this group. He's not in the top five. But i do agree with the big. Oh that he has the skill set. there's no question about that and it's why i felt like we thought maybe the lakers and bunch. We're gonna play two seasons ago now in the finals. I mean that was what everyone had assumed. And i thought that the lakers had a great shot because a healthy lebron but b because anthony davis was the one was the guy felt like that could defend jaanus or one of the guys that can defend john. Is that a very very high level. So well i will. I will yield to the greatness of the big show. But i've been saying it all along and i realize i'm in the minority here but what i saw out of a this year and the injuries and the big body and the constantly falling on the ground. I am not particularly bullish on the future. In fact. I'm very bearish if you will on on eighty and i'm worried that he's going to continue to have injury problems now. Listen he may prove me totally wrong. And if that's the case by the way that will just be one of a million things that i've been wrong about but that said i'm very concerned about his health going forward well look. I'm a big believer. That the biggest predictor of future injury past injury and previous to this injury the achilles tendon noses all the other injuries were kind of like little things here and there like nothing super serious but anytime you have the word achilles in it and we talked about this a lot last season right or this past season it was worrisome and troublesome show this while prior to this injury i would have maybe not dismissed you but i would have been like. I don't know maybe you're going a little too far. I think that while. I don't a hundred percent agree with you. I'm a lot closer to you. Than i would have been even just a few months ago. You know when when is going to the off season they talk about. Here's some things in my game that i'm going to work on and this is any sport you know. Why is it so ridiculous to suggest. Hey here's a concept. Why don't you work this offseason on staying up not hitting the floor all the time. Now i know l z. If he were here he would say no what he's learned to do is he's learned to kind of gracefully. Go down. no yeah. That's the way to do it on a. He's right in this sport and i can tell you because i covered a guy for many many years. That did this in dwayne wait. He literally used to have a commercial that said fall down seven. Get up eight or whatever it was and he you know as he got older granted he's not seven feet tall again davis precise but as he got older he learned how to fall better right full in a way where he could still attack do his thing but not hurt himself as much. There is a way to do that. I do think that you can do that even as a big man. Although it may take more effort in having to figure that out. I do think that there is a science to that per se or an art would rather than just go the opposite direction with what you're saying. Which is that. Wade got older. He learned how.

"Our listeners. About what makes your film podcasts. A little bit different. Oh well every year movies come out there. Some of them are very highly rated. Certified fresh by rotten tomatoes and some of them are poorly rated. And we kind of look at the point of everyone's here. I'm not gonna watch that and leave it alone but zach harper not. We took it upon ourselves to watch movies that are poorly rated on rotten tomatoes and try to ascertain whether they are in fact accurately poorly rated. Or maybe ben just. Maybe they didn't get a fair shake. Sipo produced by anthony maze. Wherever you get podcast and by the way been lying has been a guest on sinophobic. That's all the fuel of approval. i need. yeah then to seventy five. Gets you on the subway. Now in new york city appreciate you having me on the show. A movie i'd love to have on. That show is black rain. You ever seen that with michael douglas and a young andy garcia michael douglas. A dirty cop goes across the world to japan to discuss to investigate a murder. And it's fifty percents on ron tomato steph lousy black rain but not quite lousy enough. Our minimums are scored it. You need to hit his forty percent or lower by either pretty or the audience by the way ben this month. We're doing john. Travolta among we've been doing seeing months every every month of the year this mothers and john travolta among we did killing season with travolta and robert deniro. We did Staying alive with travolta and directed by silvester stallone. And this week actually today. The new episode dropped. Luke crews talking to travolta kirstie alley bruce willis roseanne barr and a hell of a song by Former beatle. whose name escapes me. Not ringo not paul. Not not john. The other ones your chair. Sorry george harrison passing. George is that look. Who's talking now or is that look who's talking to or three look. Who's talking movies. There's three look who's talking talking talking to look who's talking now look talking to is the addition of the baby sister who's played by roseanne. Barr lucas talking. Now is the one with the pets that one was really bad. This one look talking to the one that we did and so i won't say how i reviewed it because once you got all going looking oppo you you've had an interesting takes on film since i've known you. I know you're a big star wars fan. I know you dress up on opening night when they play the movies at the grove. And that's fine. That's totally cool. I celebrate that dress up in anthony bonner jersey every once in awhile i get it but but this would. I would imagine doing this. Podcast is sort of change the way you look at film and especially the change the way you look at bad movies that you go and revisit personal whoever snickering in the background. That wasn't a joke. I've seen the picture of him floating around with an anthony. Bonner the at a bar mitzvah that right again john ruder. Skin and other shout out on the segment of the day became a man. I thought i'd honor him in the tradition of judaism by wearing the anthony bonner jersey as far as how insane about like a movie. Ben i'm gonna tell you this there's a a a term in they'll make an exposition exposition is when characters starting. Just explain things rather than going ahead and doing it for in the interest of saving time right to move the story along. Just say hey just got back from the army like why would you announce that well. That's exposition they just want to let you know this person got on the army. And they don't wanna show you them in the army and all that stuff and now that i've done this movie and seeing so many bad movies. That do heavy end exposition. My exposition meter is extremely sensitive. I can watch greet movies and in the middle of kind of little piece of biological just pointing exposition. Can't fake it. i can't look away. i can't ignore it. My suspension of disbelief has been ruined by this podcast. Ben lyons infor rich on the rich eisen show joined by amino hass in one host. One half of the signify sinophobic podcast host alongside zach harper. You got so many titles in middle. metal arc media and this and that it's a little bit of a mouthful of right now to make. There's a little bit of attention. I don't know if you've heard about this between sin oppo. My podcast auburn to do by anthony and of pile the admin brooke podcast that he that is produced by chris. Cody of metal media. They started they started this war of words. And so here we are and you know what i think. Sinophile is too stuck up. It's too stuffy too boring and at and and there's a ball hog world man been fold. That's where you wanna go to one for the people. I guest on both podcasts. Let me just say sinophile has come. I only one of those podcast hosts called an academy. Awards has an iconic call. Moonlight just won best picture. Moonlight won best picture adnan with legendary call in hollywood. I gotta leaned sinophile. They've been there. They've done it. They done at a high level and they're not spending time talking about roseanne barr movies so it sounds like a win over there. You know what you sound like. You sound like chris paul. The greatest point guard ever devon booker is a great offense player and they play so beautifully. So they're going to be champions. You know where we are over here to the blue-collar hard working up by our bootstraps No lottery picks on our roster. That's right we're second rounders and guys that were passover fourteen times in the first noun and guys who were like on the top. And we're the milwaukee bucks center. Poke if you support the chance for the centerfold amine. Where do you think. Eric bledsoe watched the game last night. Oh my god i. It's like you can't win either way right. I've heard people who were the status people watching that game last night but was number one on the list. Mugged on bogdonovich has to be pretty high on that list to right. He's sitting there thinking if it wasn't for some mealy mouth little reporter put my business out in the streets a few days early. I have been champagne too. I also think that guy. Counting the money in phoenix last night. It's gotta be a tough day for him. I think Sons in four guy is starting to that. Those fifteen minutes are starting to take. It's like the justin timberlake amend deciphered movie out of time which would be a great contender on sinophobic to go back and look because i don't think out of time with justin timberlake gets its proper respect. I agree with you. I've been thing her name wrong this whole time. I thought man to see free ciphered siegfried. Amanda ciphered. I don't know she's the girl for me all right. I don't i'm decipher. I mean real quick. What are we talking about. Today of kevin durant wears the right size shoe. That's one of the great. What ifs right. Because everyone is praising the bucks for the jewish holiday.

"Everybody probably even you hatred at you are even you probably a bow giving chris paul his flowers right for finally getting the team to the nba. Finals he's going to be a top five point guard of all time if they win it. If my man buyers e wells is is listening bonds. He texted me. Yo you see. Threes her for in about a week now but anyway right anyway. I'm saying this ryan win or lose this series chris. Paul is still the fifth greatest point guard ever behind magic staff oscar and isaiah. Thomas i bugging you bug it. What you bug man. Okay let me ask you if they win. Or he fifth period. Throw him in on a full gezi year. Man i i don't listen. You take away kawai second ring. Yes uh-huh yes columba's different coa collide knocked off philly by himself. He knocked off jaanus. Who is so great and guard him. You know by so there are things that led up that you know. He didn't have fortunate path and i. You know it's funny. Actually put a list out so chris. This is who you're putting him ahead of job. Five top ten just made a list. Everybody you know as you know so funny people be so fired up at me that when i just ask questions i think their statements they give a bad so no this. Just a question but okay. So you're telling me you put them ahead of throw it out there steve nash. And that's fine big. Oh big oh no no big big. Oh steph staffs in their okay. Big overhead zeke. Yes absolute those street. Those are my those are my top three. After magic magic was nagged f- oscars e. I got three more names more name. I want to see how progress you feel jason kidd. yes uh toppling. Definitively jason kidd took his team to the championship and lost a shack and kobe and air prime in got him a ring. Later on now okay. Here's here's my argument. I'll real one. Jacob was phenomenal. Okay but jake kid where he got that ring. You know he. By that point. He was a role player. Average eight point six assists. He was a role player on that team. Maybe new six hundred something like that. You know that so. That wasn't jae kit in his prime lead. It is probably went further relieved and he did lead. The nets is was a little suspect at that point. Which has for the past game but still what's next autumn. You almost two all. Has jacob be employs per game.

"It is time now to mike jordan on the goodyear hotline jordan schultz. Nba insider analyst. What are the bucks chances to win without jaanus. i'd say ten percent or twelve percent. Max i think you know first of all. It's not just losing on it. It's a psychological element of an end. You know for a franchise that hasn't really been relevant for the last three decades and has been in a small market. This was the best opportunity that they've ever had. And they know it. And so to lose your franchise centerpiece. Who really is the face of that city. Not just the franchise it's a. It's a really tough low. I think then you get on the court. And what milwaukee due to try to counter atlanta assuming trae young is available to play or at least sixty seventy percent well they can continue using length but they also remember. Don't have even though and that really hurt them. I thought I think it has hurt them throughout the playoff because of his defensive ability he's an ancillary ball handler But they can continue using length fee lopez more on On the block maybe and try to use his size. Atlanta does like go small but mac. It's a really tough play anywhere. You look at it talking to jordan schultz on the goodyear hotline max kellerman show. Espn radio jordan. What if trae kept play because like a bone bruise is a big thing. It sounds like it's a bruise but like if he can't play refuse really not himself and yonathan trae cancel out. I thought kevin arnovitz made a good point in a column on. Espn dot com. Where like drew holiday can run the pick and roll right like if you have holiday in middleton do they have the advantage or the hawks have the advantage. No they would. They would even without honest they would i or it'd be at least be busy busy. I'm just assuming that trace getting to go at some point but the reason i would just say oh they do have the advantage regardless. It's because walkie is not a team that said okay. We have trae young. He's not a good defender in the first place. We know he's hobbled now. We're just gonna attack. That's just not coach. But they played their way and if it works great and if it doesn't it doesn't and that's why he's gotten criticized including by me and you know for not making adjustment so they're gonna play that way regardless i would. I would absolutely press issue. You know put middleton more pick and rolls where he's been good Us holiday again to isolate. Because he's very good game to the basket especially when he's going right And then just understand. Atlanta's a very limited team or more limited offensively without strike and we saw kevin her terrific. He was by donna. Vich but you lose a lot. I mean if you go back to game four game three. When trey got hurt he had thirty two through three quarters and then he goes to one of four the forth and they basically can't score now they countered. It made some adjustments last night and make some shots but you have to attack weaknesses. Especially when someone's not healthy okay. Before we move on jordan to the clips and sons tonight and you talked about some urgency with a series. I want to touch on nate mcmillan because you brought up putin holzer one. Six games with the hawks flamed out in the playoffs. Well he doesn't have a superstar. One sixty plus games with the bucks flamed out in the playoffs and now he's in a season where come on man. It's wide open. Everyone's hurt you gotta do something. Even with honest was not really in control of series stuff like that only got here because the nets got her. They were being humiliated before. And then that's weren't even one hundred percent and they were humiliating the bucks but on the flip side is nate mcmillan. Who i thought did a good job. In indiana lost. His job takes over for pearson. Atlanta also brings the team together. Your thoughts before we move onto clips and sons. Your thoughts on coach. Nate mcmillan mcmillan is the rare coach. Who takes over midseason mac and actually had great success. You know we we see guys. Like i remember lawrence frank. When he coached the net they won like the first ten in a row years back. You see that temporary improvements but to have an improvement throughout the whole season is unreal. And i go back to earlier in the season it was maybe the third or fourth game and they was coaching and trae young. Like a thirty. Four footer ill advise and they call them over to the box and and told them you're never going to do that again. You know. I cannot allow that and that sets the tone I grew up around nate mcmillan and his family. They're great people. They value relationships And i just think he's done an incredible job of understanding that this is a very young team. And how do you balance that that talk love with also understanding that. They haven't been there before. That's really interesting like you're never going to do that again. In other words you can take thirty four footer. But not eulogized one because by taking the thirty four and that fearlessness is part of trae young's game and the psychological job he had to do the emotional job. Nate mcmillan had to do on this team before you even get to exit the nose. Don't make your point guard play the right way without reigning them in too much. i think. That's interesting insight clips and sons tonight. That nate and boy had a good relationship so he had counter that do mac right dan. This was a friend that got fired. And now you take over. It's not an easy thing to do. Know right from your friend and you asked for his permission and everything. Okay clip sons tonight jordan. In my opinion. I can't think of a player maybe ever who's had more on the line then chris. Paul has in this series. Chris paul is one of the greatest point guard you've ever seen but according to the way point guards played when i was a kid like when i was or even a teenager. A young adult. Yeah that's how you wanna point. Guard guard played like the platonic ideal of point guards but he slows the pace when he's in the game with his sons team. They were doing very well without him. His a bunch of his teams have totally collapsed in the playoffs in the past. And there's no lebron no d. and as my late great brother sam said when jordan retired okay parallel universe. Who's the best in the nba. And the answer was hakim right now. Chris paul has a chance. And so i don't think there's anyone with more pressure than chris. Paul what do you think he's.

"All you had to do was hit us up on the Dr Pepper. Twitter feed at ESPN Radio. I mimic golden alongside Dal Uncuff right now. Ohio State leads Penn State 14 to 3, Alabama, destroying Mississippi State right now, 27 to nothing in Florida trails Missouri. 6 to 7. There's 8.5 minutes left in the first half. Their down saw it in. This actually surprised me a little bit, But Mike D'Antoni is going to join the Nets coaching staff nets. They named Steve Nash, the head coach of maybe a week or two. Later, you had Carrie Irving. In Kevin Durant say Well, really need any coaches. How do you think the things How do you think things are gonna work out in Brooklyn with the Nets? I think they work out quite well, actually, because of that, that comment, But I think that actually lines up with Steve snatches approach. I mean for you. He's a big spurs fan, and they love that s where folks follow me here. He's a He's a soccer guy. His family was from the UK and came to Canada and he loves his family. Love soccer. That's what he learned, played first became a great basketball player. Where you've heard him say this and talking about soccer and also basketball times. His philosophy is like, Don't over, do it. Don't over Cochin. Guys go out there and play and great. He's a great soccer manage a lot of times. You put your 11 out there. You put your taxes. You could make adjustments. We gotta trust your guys because there's no time out. There's no break. I think you're going to see him as one of the greatest point guards of all time in our league, one of greatest freestylers Em or his guys to go out there and do their thing. Give them concepts. Give them a philosophy. Give them Here's how we want to play and let them go. Do that. And you use Mike D'Antoni to help you build. That philosophy does have to be seven seconds or less like it wasn't he was the sons. I was really read some quotes from national think he did a little Media thing with an eagle this week. Well, yes network talking about that worked at that point in time. The part of part of coaching and part of playing is evolving. So I'm not going to because I played that in D'Antoni's okay, we're going to do. This doesn't really work like that. So that you're going to see a guy that comes in with a fresh late have a guy like Antonio D'Antoni on the staff. But there are other great coaches there. Madoka is one of the young standout assistance If people keep talking about he's on their bench now, Jack Vaughn. We obviously saw he could coach in the bubble. He's still there, and I was a big deal to keep him there. Um, Aristotle buyers in the mix as well. We don't know if Mari can coach yet. But there are guys around there to help build out that philosophy that thought and then actually go develop. Players implement. Things have guys work on their game with them. I think it's gonna work out. Well, also, I can say that because you have Kevin Durant to the tip to the 10 Best Players League. I think they'll make that thing work. He's dal uncuff. I'm Emmett Gold. And this is prime time on ESPN radio want to remind everyone that Pennzoil Synthetic Motor oils are made from natural gas? It gives you unbeatable engine protection..

"You think I wanted to go back to your comparison to Michael Jordan? Um, as you had mentioned before a caller mentioned before. I don't think LeBron recognized that Danny Green wasn't having a good night. So he made the wrong decision and pat on the balls of Danny Greene. And I think that's why the commentator is stating that LeBron should have shot that ball, and another point is in comparison to Michael Jordan. I think, Jordan what? I definitely recognise that and if LeBron wants to be compared in that elite level or the best player You ever play the game, then he needs to be able to take that job. I appreciate the phone call. That's a strong point that I can't really refuse. I can't really refuse. Is it? Dami didn't have it that night. Danny was not shooting incredibly well. He wasn't playing and really shooting with the whole lot of confidence in that scenario. But they still drew it up for that part's fair, but I also do think it has value where Have your struggling You haven't been playing good basketball, but the team continues to believe in you and LeBron instills that confidence in you. I was reading a story earlier this week from the athletic It was talking about how Rondo went up to LeBron and said, Hey, these young guys really feed off of your body language like if your Cal Koosman If you were Brandon anger from last season Alonso ball, they have spent their entire basketball lives looking up to you. So when your body language is bad when they make a mistake, it really gets them down. But when you congratulate them And applaud them on what they do. It really builds them back up that LeBron had the kind of power against other pros where his attitude his demeanor really affected how they played. So it kind of makes me think about yesterday. The fact that LeBron in that spot trust Danny Green enough and the team trust Danny Green enough. Hey, we'll get it tomorrow. Hey, we make the right basketball play. I kick it to you. Let's see what happens in this scenario. I'm with you. Danny Greene was not hot. And Mike probably is not going it to a guy who isn't having a good day. But we also did see Mike would put his trust in other teammates. He put it incur. He put it in John Paxson. He put it in other guys in those spots and He used the attention from the defense to feed those guys and trust that they were going to come through in big spots, and they did. Let's go back to Aaron in D. C. Got air Hey, thanks again for taking my call. You got me about here? I got you loud, Clear, man. Beautiful, beautiful. Everybody's being a little hard on the broads and I felt full disclosure. I'm a Jordan man George number one, but you already alluded to it taxing hit shots. Her hit shots because Jordan kicked those out the greatest shots ever in clutch of all postseason. It comes from Robert Horry. Robert Horry was never superstar, one of his teams, but you're telling me that you know they're growing. The greatest moment should have happened because I don't know when the greatest point guard in the history of of MBA should have never let Robert Horry shoot shots or co We should have never let him shoot shot on the guys wide open, and you already alluded to this as well. It's the finals. He's not getting that call. He's going to go up against the entire team, and unless he like miraculously makes it against the entire team. It's not going in. He has to kick that shot. That's where legends get made of. Unfortunately, Green mist. It's such a life. We move on, and I'll tell you this is a wizard stand. Please give me LeBron. Give him the roster. Give him the entire salary cap situation and let him and all of his boys figure out howto fix. My team could work terrible and LeBron would get us to the finals. 100% agree with you, Aaron. Good phone call there. Let's not forget, speaking of the Lakers and being bailed out Robert or rebuild him out plenty of time. So did Derek Fisher. You remember that one Play shack misses the lay of the ball gets kicked out, man. These things kind of happen, such as life. NFL talk coming up next stick around at CBS Sports Radio. Daylight.

"In some ways, doesn't it like I feel like it's a validation that he needs a little more. Chris Paul is going to go down. As the greatest point guard of a generation and might not have a title to go with that, and I don't know that that changes his legacy the same way there would be validation because there's so much It's just so much hate for housing hardened plays out there and people don't I'm not one of those people. But there are people who don't enjoy watching him and don't are just not James Harden fans and he brought home a ring, especially with You know, starting P. J. Tucker Point P. J. Tucker of Center for minutes and this line up, it would be. It would be of a legendary kind of accomplishment. It would be something talked about in that ring would mean a lot to him. I think it would matter for him than maybe anyone else. I love that answer. That's really interesting. Kurt healing here on the programme in the gym room show. So let's dive into the rock. It's a little bit The sample sizes is really, really small, right? They trade clan Capella, and then everything basically shuts down and we haven't seen Ah lot of this lineup, but what we've seen is looked really good. I guess you know for me, I wonder they can force enough turnovers to make up for what's going to be obviously, a lack of Of rebounding, but they're going to shoot 30 40 50 63 point shots a game. So what degree are you maybe buying that these guys are or are not. Legitimate contenders with this very interesting approach that they're going to roll out there in the postseason. I think the break helps them right. Like they get a fully healthy Russell Westbrook, which they kind of had big mean They looked a little worn down Russell Westbrook. I mean, not about James Harden looks a little just tired. With everything that had been on his shoulders near the end, and also there now asking a lot of J talker, and this is more minutes and kind of more responsibility than he's had. And games. They're coming every other day, and they're going to come every other day and the playoffs are asked. He's not getting the same kind of breaks or nights off that he got before. The brake, I think just getting there. We rested in their legs under them helped them. I think they are a threat against certain teams. I kinda feeling, Bill, Don't you get the feeling like they're going to get into a Siri's? And the 1st 2 games. It's going to take the other team's going to be adjusting like I think they even against a good team, they go up against what say the Lakers or the Clippers. I could steal one or two early because people aren't adjusted to playing to them when they get there. When the scene starts to really figure it out. I don't know what the there's not really a counter, right? Like puppets of the Rockets. They're going to do this. But maybe they could win another game because James Harden just has one of those nights. And suddenly they could steal a Siri's. I'm not convinced that they could beat the Lakers and Clippers. I don't think that happens, but I think there is a bigger threat than people realize. Just because They're they're doing something nobody else is doing, and it's just gonna take some adjustment is going to take a couple of games for people to get used to. It cartwheeled here on the Jim Rome Show at basketball talk on Twitter. Kurt. I talked about this earlier. The Raptors are defending champions who have the third best record in the MBA. The second best defense of raiding the MBA, a really, really gifted head coach. A great leader in cholera, a superstar, a rising superstar in Pasco, Siachen. And yet, at least to my mind, and I was guilty of this. Probably all the way is recently is maybe February. Certainly, January. Ah lot of folks who don't give them to do that they deserve what is your evaluation of the Raptor. And to what degree? Do you consider them actual contenders to make an MBA finals this year. You can't see this because its radius it doesn't really work as well. But I'm raising my hand a swell. Yeah, I'm absolutely one of those guys who has sold this seem short. Pretty much all the way along this season and right now. They're one of the best team and they beat the Lakers. There saw how good their defense was against the Lakers and the Laker fans out there saying they had an off night. Sure. Events can help force it off tonight. This is a very good, very smart defensive team who has the advantage Bill. You know what I like in a play off team, and I mention this with flippers earlier. Best player. Playoff teams are versatile, right like that would be too big Beach a small the Warriors have been that way for a few years later. They could just beat you. Whatever your style was because of the talent the way their roster was built. There's a little of that in Toronto. They are a deal. Tonight. It's calories. Turn in tomorrow with CEO comes turn and then we can have a game where Serge Baka and and this all shut down the gate like we could do beat you a variety of different ways. Those are dangerous scenes. I think they've been really good in the play offs. I think we've sold him short. If the buck stumble. I still think the box is the best team in these What if If they stumble. If something happens with maybe they're just not quite as good and or there's an injury or whatever happens. I think the Raptors were there I had been selling Boston is the second best team in the East and I'm watching the game, but I think it's Toronto. They have the second best record. I think they They will return trip to the finals is not out of the question. Is there a team that we haven't talked about it at any length in this conversation here on the gym room show who you think I have a real chance to outperform expectations in when the postseason rolls around. You mentioned it briefly, but I think Oklahoma City's better and everybody thinks they are. I think Oklahoma City is goingto win their first round match up in less day fault somehow faded back and got the The Lakers Clippers. I think they're that good. I think they're versatile. They shoot of, you know again, Chris Paul has been phenomenal. I don't think they have. I think they're player away from being A true championship threat. But they event.

"His bird 25 point a night guy today in the league. Is he a 20 for 25 in nine consistent guy in the league? That's where I struggle with it. Honestly, that's where I struggle. Maybe it's just the youth in me. The ages didn't pop off the page for me the way it did for other people, But there's no denying the skill set. There's no denying the accomplishments. Let's go back to the phone lines. Justin is in South Carolina going, Justin. I mean, really loved so much that I was a little different. I got Aah! At number one and two. I got Mike and LeBron Take it, however you want And then I got Death, maybe inset. I can't fault that I can't fault them for this reason. I appreciate the phone call here. This is why I can't fault it. Lying step by the time he's done. Is gonna have a really strong I better than magic argument. I don't think you can make it yet. Hankies like 70% there, though. I know it's hard to knock those guys that we've put on that Mount Rushmore in on that pedal, so it's hard to knock him off, but really take a look at stuff game how the sport has been revolutionized by him and his accomplishments. All the unanimous MVP three rings. Steppes. Gonna have a really strong I'm the greatest point guard of all time. When he's done, it's not nearly as flashy is magic. It's very different. Magic was the bigger guy. It was more unorthodox because you didn't see guys 6869 play. The position at that time were steps such a little guy steps gonna have a really strong argument, and we're talking to pure basketball players. There's not 10 basketball players all time better than Kevin Durant. We can talk accomplishments, but we're just talking. You roll the ball out and play. There's not 10 better human beings I've ever played the game over Kevin Durant, not my opinion. Let's go back to the phone lines on the Geico Hotline.

"A movie critic. Maybe I could be a food critic. These Buffon's taste bad or an art critic. Painting is bad. It got. I'm so disgusted by Rick tittle that I find him very intoxicating. I thank you for that and welcome back to the show. You know there were some. There were a lot of angles. The last dance could've taken and I not just mean you know wizards and all that I mean it's just. The story isn't entirely too long to get into the ten hours but think about the trade offers when the Blazers infamously forever now passed on Jordan but the number two pick and eighty four. But you know but obviously looks. It looks worse every day. It looks worse even with the documentary. And excuse me the Jordan's Olympic team in eighty four. Bobby Knight was so enamored with them. Remember the quote Bobby Knight. Said he's the best player I've ever coached and the blazers. Gm was STU INMAN and he told Bobby Knight that he was not GonNa pick Jordan because they needed a center. And Bobby Knight. Apparently told STU INMAN draft Michael Jordan and play him at center. You know tongue-in-cheek cheek like just just take the guy taken but before the Bulls made their intentions now. There were a lot of people that were begging to switch with the Bulls. Now these are supposedly facts now but we never really know the seventy sixers offered Dr J. Straight up which was also Dr J. and the number five. Pick the number five picture not to be Charles Barkley and Andrew. Tony who is an all star guard at the time? Dr J. Charles. Barkley the pick for him Andrew. Tony the Sonics talked about a trade that they're gonNA give them Jack Sigma Which at the time you think. Well there's an established center but still Jaksic man I mean come on And then other one link door Jordan to Dallas with Mark Maguire. Lotta people will remember Mark Maguire on subsequent tunes cooking the Pistons but the most unbelievable rumor of all came from a potential teammate because in Akeem Elisha lawns book my life and basketball living the dream. He said the rockets discussed trading Ralph Sampson to Portland for the number two pick and Clyde Drexler they would have taken Jordan they would have taken sorry Elisha. One number one overall Jordan number two now combining those two with Clyde Drexler would have been one of the greatest trios. Nba History. But it was Houston that said no to the offer so in other words just to reiterate Portland Houston. Let's flip flop and for flip-flopping you give structure and we'll give you Ralph Sampson our F. Sam Senate getting felt over to the warriors not long after much to my show grand and then once Jordan got drafted. Sam Smith actually said in the Jordan rules that it was revealed that the clippers offered the bulls any five players or draft picks that they had now at that point that included the number one and number six pick and the next summer's draft. Chicago SAID NO FOR OBVIOUS REASONS. But they had toyed with the The ideas But the Bulls never traded Jordan and suffice to say they don't regret it and that's something I'll say about Jerry. Krause look at all the guys who have been traded. You Know Willie mays Wayne Gretzky can Saco in his prime in the on-deck circle. That was a shocker. For me I was working that game that night for sports channel. It was still haunts me. It goes on and on the greatest players in history a lot of times. They're bit older but they've been traded. They never traded Jordan. They knew that that would make zero sense now. Another thing that they didn't really talk about in the documentary was that Jordan which you could say you know. He came in kind of a one trick pony and then he turned into a great defender but those first few years in Chicago. I remember those years very well. He was a one man team and remember. When the Bulls offense was sputtering Doug Collins May Jordan the point guard and the the results hardly even look real because the first month that he became a point guard late in the season which was like mid March to mid April Jordan. Averaged thirty points eleven assists nine rebounds per game and at one point at Point Guard. He had ten triple doubles in eleven games. And in the one thousand nine hundred and nine playoffs. He had seven double digit assist Games. Now think about this. Kobe Bryant in his twenty years had nine double digit assist games in his career because Kobe was a great scorer but so Jordan thinking about that. Kobe had nine. Jordan had seven in one playoffs so most arguments surrounding Jordan and Lebron they boil down to a playing style because Jordan as typically viewed as superior scorer were James's prayed praise for his all around game. They're different different size. Guys One's a garden one's a forward. The truth is somewhere in between both were more capable than what we think they can do. I mean for those people who hate on Lebron. I remember you know many NBA finals series. That I attended thank you. Nba For giving me a press. Pass here at sports violent but Lebron get the ball and he'd bring it down the court and sometimes they'd have it would all on them. Sometimes they'd have bogut sometimes they'd have Three on Green. Whatever they'd switch off they did it piecemeal. Sometimes they have Fbi Yudo over. That kid was that but anyway they would trade off and Lebron would get the ball. He'd call out some numbers of the top of the key pass. It wants to Della Vedova Pass. It wants to Shumpert comes back to Jordan. I mean comes back to Jordan comes back to Lebron turns his back to the WHO back down back down back down. Every time he dribbled didn't matter how much defender had planted his feet in the hardwood. Move Him back back. Moving back off the glass and in or drop the shoulder get the guy to go turn around and drop it off the glass or double teamed step back Fadeaway Katie Style. Lebron is one of the greatest players of all time. But that's my my point is with that is that is what. Lebron James is as a point guard. It's basically one man team just because you bring the ball up the court doesn't make you a point guard bark out. A few plays does not make your point card. That's why I'd always bugsy when they say. Oh Magic Johnson. Greatest Point Guard and yeah he was better than Lebron. Because you'd pass the ball more but true point guards the way that they are generals of a team like I always I always Kind of bad mouth Steve Nash for winning an MVP. But Steve. Nash is the epitome of what a point guard is as you run your offense and it goes through you. You make passes you call the plays you can score? You can defend Lebron. As a point guard can do that so I just read you some stats there of not just Jordan as a point guard Jordan as a point guard in the playoffs plows so as much as George. Karl was tongue in cheek. When you told STU INMAN and Portland to draft Jordan and play him at center if you need a center so badly. It's not that harebrained scheme. You probably wouldn't want a eight forward but you think about how Barkley is. And how many rebounds he gets think about how. Tall Rodman is. And how many rebounds he gets Rodman six nine. It's not it's not out of the realm kidding but Jordan was you can. You could ask him to do anything on the floor. And he was gonNA give it everything and lot of times with Panache. Aplomb and a plum. Give him one of those two he could. He could get it done. So it's it's dumb to compare Lebron it's like saying you know what's better a mucks a Mustang or Camaro. They're both amazing. I Love Them. You go we'll the mustangs better the CAMAROS better and it. Just let's just appreciate them for what they are all right house after comparison. I'm it'll.

"I mean he gets within seven point seven feet of the three point line. And he's ready to put it up and he's going to shoot forty percent from their he's gonna shoot a remarkable percentage. You can't be the greatest, one of the greatest players without being a better defender than he is. But they showed last night, they can kind of play at one end of the floor. Let the blazers hit almost fifty percent of the three pointers and beat them, anyway, with what curry can do on. You say second best player ever, absolutely not sticking point. Gordon everton. I mean you know, you're gonna put him ahead behind magic and who else? That's a hard hard thing to do. But he'd but he's one of the one of the greatest players ever. I don't know what. Well, let me ask you, if you think what the warriors are doing. Is this impressive as you just said it was, where does that place? Cari, all time. He's a greatest shooter ever. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. He's not the greatest point guard or even one of the top two or three but he's the greatest shoe wherever, but this series for me was about dream on green. I thought dream on green is wanted open. Everyone's eyes in this series average. A triple double. This is why the words are so great. Draymond green can can be that energy and be that force. They have it'd be the guy that we thought he was just a hassle everybody. We see how great he is. And he's ninety one of the best player. Yes, this your focus on Steph curry here. The Iguala quotes second. It's, it's interesting to me, how people are willing to give Steph so many credits for so many things. But then when it comes down to really judging them they have to get mega simplistic about what it is. If you're going to say that he completely revolutionized the game, you're going to say that he's the best of all time. He's the only native is every be if he's most transformational player the his. Of basketball, who cares? We're Giorgio magic or go your other people come into, if you grew up in his era, you saw something that you will literally never see again. You give points for the transformational ask you Dominic Foxworth. I do give bonus points for the transformation. And I also give bonus points for his impact on an individual game the gravity that he creates for the rest of the team makes everyone else better. And there's no stack to measure that. So while I wouldn't if I were drafting a team out of all the time guys, I may not take Steph curry over join or LeBron, but he's certainly the first point guard, I would draft to put on my guard, you drive you draft him over mad libra Bill flash key to lose it. All right. Ships, four is gonna put Steph curry and a conversation. That's right there with Magic Johnson. Pretty close gets gets into the same arena. At least plastic. Absolutely. No. Not ahead of magic ahead of Magic Johnson, a much much Zeh, Nash anybody else wanted throughout some all time point guards. I mean that's going to get your number two Iverson doesn't fight that way that way that he's shooting high handles the ball passes the ball is incredible. And I think that he is much. He's somewhat of a defensive liability. But so was Magic Johnson. He wasn't a stopper. All right. There we go. The west is just shattered right before center. Could place then? He's in the center conversation at the point guard. Converse. I real quick question you on how close the blazers are Oregonian had a headline today. The beginning of something special. Had a tweet a few days ago. Compiling celebrating people calling them the trash brothers so take that for what you want. Lillard says making the conference finals proves they can get it done. Does it Tim? No. I don't. I don't think so. I think if you look at the west, there's the warriors, and then there's going to be about ten teams they're going to be somewhat to through not in the playoffs. I mean remember Portland was one fifty three games. They got to the three seed with a tiebreaker, or they're the four seed and they would've played the warriors of the second round like Houston. Did I think they're good?.

"This was a sad that people I think this was a project that they worked on all year. They actually tabulated all the times he's gotten somebody to bite on his pump fake, which is one of the better moves in NBA history. Five hundred eighty total pump fakes and he's gotten eleven hundred sixteen free throws out of it. Fifty eight and one's in his career ninety games with to pump fake. Aches. And did you see the murderers row of people that bid on at twice in one game, it semi in the beginning of it is Mike Dunleavy and Luke Walton CEO cow. Okay. But Shane Batty as on this, which I'm sure and the person that's been on the on the pump fake the most John salmon's. How about that? So that's what I wanna see. I won't. I also wanna see the fake to the left spin around to the right contested, mid range jumper. He's a it's a throwback. Saw Chris Whittingham on Twitter pointed this out like he's his game. His career has been built on that mid range jumper, and that's a loss. Our art form in today's NBA. So what you're seeing right now, and he's still killing that mid range game, which you're seeing right now is a throwback essentially on. I'm not really sure we'll see someone sort of build their game around the mid range game quite liked Wayne. Wade maybe an MBA history considering how the games change. I feel so bad for the person that had to look up all those pump fakes as a person that if we came up with that task would probably have had to look all that up. I feel for that person. I didn't know they even kept a static. Don't. Hopefully a team of people watching every game he ever did. You know, Dwayne is remarkable in many ways one of them is that he has really gone out. So well, you know, he he's gone out on such a high level, and he's aged gracefully which a lot of athletes. Don't and he's still got so much in his arsenal. He finds you know that step back fadeaway shot. He's got I mean, there's so many ways he can still be effective at age thirty seven and it it's too bad for the team. But such a tribute to him to actually say that he's the best player on the heat as he goes on a lot of people were sort of throwing dirt on him as recent to is like eight years ago, honestly with the knee injuries standing up in the way the game was evolving. Say no, this guy's just going to prematurely age, and as the seasons with the big three were really long, and you could see how bad his knees were you were thinking to yourself. Okay. Well, yeah. I ll LeBron's leaving make sense because Dwayne Wade's bodies broken. And here he is at this age looking at about as healthy as he has over the better part of a decade. Yeah. An aging gracefully in a way that many just didn't predict and we all remember when his minutes were managed for health reasons. And all and yeah, he's going out with his health intact. I think he feels as good as he ever has. You know, he's he's on record as saying I could play two more years in this role. You know, so he's not being forced out. He he's not going out because his body is telling him to he's just picked the time and gone out on his terms, and and I credit them for it. Where does he rank in terms of his generation, obviously, the bronze one is like the week? Like, how does this work? Does Durant fall into his generates Durant falls in his generation and sub because Kobe sort of bleeds into two generations. So even when Kobe was winning two titles San shack. I think a lot of people would rank Kobe right ahead of Dwayne so hot five easy. Dirks in there. I I would put weight over Dirk. Yeah. I would put weight over Dirk a guy. That's always sort of overlooked is Steve Nash, one of the greatest if not the greatest point guard of all time. He's certainly in that debate. Yeah..

"That was the great Michael k afternoon drive host ninety eight point seven FM ESPN radio in New York City, and the voice of the New York Yankees for the yes network right here bestowing us with this baseball knowledge as only he can always appreciate that. Let's get back to the phones at eight eight say ESPN, go to it. Let's go to hating. You live. Stephen what's up? Hi, I'm going to question where you going back to Zion and the comparisons to Jordan and LeBron. I'm just I grew up watching magic play. And it seems like the world's forgot about. Magic johnson. I mean. Stop stop stuff. We're talking about Zion Wisden being a physical freak of nature two hundred and eighty eighty pounds would a forty five plus inch vertical. Leap and the person that you're bringing up is Irvin. Magic Johnson ultimate champion a winner. Arguably the greatest point guard NBA history that had a considerable height advantage over his defendant. So he could look over and throw passes over them. But wasn't even the same stratosphere athletically as the LeBron's and Zayas of the world. And that is the name you come up with, sir. I think he might be one of the greatest ever that's all the one of greatest what? True point guard hold on sign a point guard. What of his career is on point? God. No, he's you know, he's not a point guard. That's an ignorant question. Then there's no drugs. No comparison zero Magic Johnson has nothing to do with a conversation involving the likes of Winston LeBron. James? None. None. Do you think you're gonna see IM playing the point? No have a nice day. Leashes? Get one bright answer. Let's go to Joe you live Stephen was up to. Was it? I called in at the before the NFL season started. And I asked you who the two worst teams were before the season started on one of the congratulate you and being spot on you said, the raiders and the bills you said, John, you said Gruden was gonna choke. And you're right. So good call on that one second. I asked you my season tickets to the Spurs. We're gonna come in clutch with they're still gonna make the playoffs and you were accurate on that. Even when everybody was saying the Spurs weren't gonna make it. But my question today is who are the two overrated. NBA playoff teams overrated NBA playoff teams. Okay. Let me think about that. Because I haven't been paying attention to anybody in the east other than the top four. Everybody else has been relevant to me. I mean, Miami and Shaul and people like that are battling for you know, the eighth playoff spot. Orlando's and the permanent thinking about those guys they're not overrated because we haven't rated them. So I think about the Western Conference Oklahoma City could be one. But when you talk about overrated, some people might say Denver because of how successful this season is. But what you're expecting from them come postseason that it might be Denver. But I honestly don't know because everybody else listened Portland we can't say overrated. They just got swept by Orleans in the postseason. Lash of the Anthony Davidson those boys and draw a day. Okay. We look at the clippers while we can't say they overrated because they've overachieved just to being a player pitcher about to win fifty games in the regular season. Doc, Rivers legitimate argument dot rules could be coach of the year is greatest booting and. Jose has been he does have the Greek freak who the hell is Doc Rivers have who does his hand. So we can look at that Louis Utah. Nice team right where they should be round the fourth the fifth slot. So I would say to you the two teams that kind of and and let us know along with San Antonio tomorrow derozen is there so they're right about where this opposed to be. So I would tell you the two teams based on your question would be Denver and okay, see..

"Number five we've discussed today is that your new baseball team second Phillies. Yeah. I love them. Dave. You told me once I am from Phillies from Philly, and I found out later, you don't live anywhere near Philly that you just say that when the teams are good. That's probably fair. Yeah. That's fair. So you're just us throughout the show. Andre all his comments about Steph curry being underrated. And the second greatest point guard of all time found the teams win on Saturday against the Sixers while another player had high praise for a member of the warriors following that game, Philly big man, Joel Embiid. Kevin Durant is quote, probably the best player in the league to me and quote on the season, Katie is averaging twenty seven point six points per game to go along with six point, nine rebounds and five point eight assists. I mean, I just I can't I can't get there. I think Durant's amazing. But I would take this season. Here's an interesting because I keep trying to figure out who's the better player, harden or Durant. Harden and the dantonio system. Has turned the rockets into competitors. There are game away from an NBA finals last year. There went away. Does anybody really believe I know it's kind of a different position and he plays, and it's Kevin Durant. If you swapped at hard and put Durant with the rockets, they'd be as good basketball team. They wouldn't be. I don't think they would be. It'd be doing what they do. And part of that total on fair by me because Dan Tony system is highly controlled by one guy and who's the beneficiary statistically of all those things, but you do have to be able to facilitate it twice. Steve Nash works show. Allen it it's why Jeremy Lin works. So well on it. Nash didn't score on that Lin scored a little bit more. And harden scores a ton more. And I think that kind of reflects their abilities scoring relative to in the basketball. But Kevin Durant amazing score thinking about during this way. I guess I've evolved into being accurate about Kevin a way that people who like, and we'll describe as a Durant hater. But. Doesn't Kevin Durant strike. You is the guy that will never want an NBA championship. If he's the best player in the team. But is the best second best player of all time on a team that guy could be a champion that got to be the second best player in the NBA championship team. That's durant. He's not the best player in that team. Steph. Curry is created that culture created that team. And if Kevin is Steph curry left tomorrow, he retired. He said, you know, what I miss Charlotte, Jeremy, Charlotte. I'll go back home to any really believe the words are winning the championship with Durant dream on. And clay, I don't I don't I don't believe it. Those or Bill writers five things to know on CBS sports radio. Eight.

"REIT are Westbrook will be included unless greatest point guards of all time. No players putting up triple doubles like he is not there yet. Another yet Harnes interesting because is he a point guard over the course of his career? He clearly is under understand, Tony. It's a tough one Paulin, savannah. Thank you for listening. Appreciate your buddy, you're on CBS sports radio. What bill? Man, heading back into savannah. Hey, so active free with y'all Steph. Definitely the second greatest point guard. And to me he has the ability to become the greatest the way he transcended the game is probably something that we will never see again in our lifetime. But there's two that I heard your back as well. One of the men I heard you come back and Oscar Robertson and that, but if we're talking about time, you gotta put feet marriage in that conversation somewhere out. Take your comments off AMA. Love your show Bill. All Vega body pistol pay. That's right. That's my fail. That's definitely my bad. But I've never been to Savannah, Georgia. But my wife Lori lived there for a summer, and it is among our favorite cities in the country. Ghana get down there. Have you guys been? A civilian? I'm not even looked at us. I'm looking at trace. Savannah never been unfortunately here. Eight five five two one two four CBS is a phone number. John and Oregon what's up brother, you're on CBS sports radio? Great show. Thanks. Yeah. I just wanted to say like the comparison. I agree with you that Steph is the second best point guard in the game. I think he kinda compares well with like Dwayne Wade in terms of like how y'all sexy the players around him. That's pretty much it. Great show. Thanks for taking my call. Thanks, john. Dwayne Wade's good call Darcy different position. But I can relate to that. Because I covered Wade. He did lift his guys up until he couldn't play the level the that they wanted to. And then he. Then he was away tied around their ankles. But but but the height of his of his career Dwayne did make guys better. I'm a big I'm a big proponent of the notion that yes Riley. Absolutely. The Riley way. The heat way helped teach LeBron to be a champion, but an equal proportion went to anyway, I was there covering that team. I think LeBron learned a lot from that guy. Seth curry we just and we do this on the Brown. Right. We did it the LeBron. And I'm not even mad at myself for voting for Steph or the two MVP's that he got. But I am mad at my colleagues for voting for Russell Westbrook for that one. And that was the first year. I didn't have the vote, and I think I voted for LeBron might have been the ballot. The only person who voted for Brown number one overall pick. Can I would have gotten crushing? It would have to three years what age pretty well. Whereas is still doing triple doubles don't even talked about on the MVP. It was a statistical oddity, and I've said this before because it makes me so mad on the dark rabbit hole. It's like when Ted Williams hit. For the triple crown and was a four zero six I came. He was straight and he didn't win the MVP and what forty one because. Demise? Have the fifty six game history games around. Cool. Really impressive. It's really impressive. But it's just it's a statistical oddity. Well, if you go one for five fifty six games in a row that now you're the grace of all time, which was the Stewart. Four zero six even more angry. That's every four six it can't be that. Because what idiot baseball writers wouldn't vote for a guy that broke the four hundred Mark. Are you sure makes me so mad? I'm mad at people that voted nineteen forty one. My dad was born. I was a glimmer glimmer my Granddad, right? Still mad about it. All right. I digress. Eight five five two one two four CBS. How do you give the MVP to somebody else when a guy had four zero six? My point. Sometimes we get we get sucked into these fancy new things Westbrook's what was one of those the average a triple double only guy along with the big to do it. But it was LeBron and the better season. Now, there's all these toy lines Durant is there. Remember Steph also is willing to take a step back, especially your Durant. Not have as many shots not out of the offense flow through market used to because it was best for the team in harmony. The guy's a leader to men Steph curry. Modern basketball chemistry ball movement three point shooting a willingness to commit to defense better defended than you think he is the game and its best right now. He's the second best point guard of all time. And he's the best player in his era as LeBron eight five five two one two four CBS. Tony in Vancouver. Thank you for listening. You're on CBS sports radio. You call them. Call your point guard, then yeah, he's one of the best. But you know, what? I get tired of it. They say, oh, the game was more physical back. Then. Hand-checking? That's not all the allow it. Okay. There was no such thing as a flagrant one or a flagrant two. That was a hard foul back then and they used to give them out aplenty. That's why every team enforcer back then guys like Buck Williams. Permit Washington MAURICE Lucas as those guys played its protect the scores because it was a brutal game back then. That's my kid. You wanna call step a point guard fine to me he's shooting guard. They got to shooting guards. And and I read and Durant. So thank you. Thanks. He's a boy guard for me, no doubt. No doubt as a point guard. Michael in Arizona Bullhead sitting. Thank you for listening out. West brother, you're on CBS sports radio. Hey, what's up? Yeah. People have been saying stocking and about the I think he's more like cream. He's real quiet work. Get your job done. That's how many seasons family. That's a great call. I I should have thought of that myself. Michael, thanks for the thought and the perspective. I had I interview Kareem on the TV show last week. And I believe over on CBS sports H Q five eastern bloc. I believe we played some the interview here on the radio. I'm being told by the guys nodding up and down that that we did Greg call the difference being steps pretty media-friendly cream was the opposite. But quiet, really smart guys interests well beyond I mean cream and Steph curry spent a lot of time focus on things and a lot of energy that have nothing to sports. Yeah. Yeah. It's an interesting comparison steps much more likable. That's not fair. He has more light by the media. I'm not sure likable be fair characterization characterization to say that creams unlike complicated, but I don't staff doesn't work the room. And he's not pulling guys aside in managing the media. Like, LeBron Durant? Do they do? It's always the guys who complain the loudest who are working the system the most here. I just goes about his business a good call a bunch of you wanna talk about this. And we'll keep her own. Josh. In your way, Conrad in Milwaukee the rest of you on the line at eight five five two one two four CBS bear with us. We got a couple of spots left. If you want to join the conversation, my belief, I'm with Andre Iguodala, Steph curry second best point guard in the history of the game and probably gonna go top ten, but I think he's a close out his career in that top twelve or thirteen range, which is where guys like for me, like Coby dunk in and some of those guys after you get to the first three or four it all kind of bunches together the top twelve he's that good eight five five two one two four CBS. We'll take your phone calls. We'll keep talking some hoops or hang out together on righter than you with me. Bill Ryder after we get a CBS sports radio update with rich Ackerman..
