The reason they were given for the delay was the chip shortage for nothing. That's probably partly true. I have to say that to you. It's always a pleasure to chat with you. And even more fun to visit, which not not wink wink. We're probably ready for a road trip. Well, you know, it's it's about time for a lot of people, Teo get out and explore a little bit. Of course, when when you feel ready of, But Yeah. Huntsville, Alabama, Madison Thiss whole North Alabama area. There's so much to see and do here, both indoor activities. The performances, live performances are starting to come back and There's so many outdoor activities, hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking, just being at one with nature with all the amenities of the city right here at your fingertips, You know, we just spoke with Terry Marshall holder about hiking the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and she said to be sure to tell you Hi. She wants to come to hunts. Fela's well, obviously, Space and Rocket Center is one of the main attractions and the Huntsville Museum of Art. Another I have to say the space and Rocket center blew me away. I going back to as a child? I was laughing told Sue the other day, we were watching the history Channel thing about The rocket program in America. Verner von Braun, with Walt Disney showing the round circular space station and I remember I actually had a model that I built of that space station and trying to get The little strings from the hub to the outside wheel took me forever. But I've always been fascinated by science and outer space and so on, And you've got it all there. Do you know Well, we're extremely fortunate. We we do have the technology of airspace in the aerospace industry. We're home of Nasa's Marshall Space Flight Center. And that's where they do the research development of some of the testing for the propulsion systems that will take a humankind back to the moon and then on to Mars. But we're also extremely fortunate to have kind of the other side of the coin. If you will. We have a thriving arts community andare so many activities with Symphony orchestra and we have one of the largest privately owned arts facilities in the country. I think The largest in the South Lo Lt'll arts and entertainment. So they have artisans on DH crafts people of with all different types of mediums and is open to the public Wednesday through through Saturday in a narrow but also for special about, so there's truly something Teo City and do for everyone here, whether you tend to be right brain going left France. I've been there before for the botanical gardens, and I just love them. I've been there a couple different seasons. You've got one coming up now, Where are you having the scare crows decorated again. Old gosh, yes. Do they have the Scarecrow trail going on strong right now, and that leads right up into their annual galaxy of life event. So year round. The Huntsville didn't have botanical garden. There's always something growing on they like to say good truly is ah. Oh, yeah, It truly is a year round garden or residents and visitors alike Teo to enjoy in the late spring and throughout the summer. They're also home of the largest open air butterfly house in the country, so there's plenty to see and do. Do they stay there year round or is it a Passover place during migration? Well, it's it's open air Kevin, so it's on outdoor facility that is netted. The butterflies. You actually see the entire life cycle of the butterfly from the crystal list of cocoon to where they have their wings and they're closely flapping about for for all to to enjoy so But it is open to the weather. So if it's warm outside, it's going to be warm in the butterfly house were raining or or what have you But Kevin, did you Did you know that if you go in there, you have to be very careful and have someone check your back and front. So you don't bring any of the butterflies out with you? Yeah, that land on your shoulder and walk around. It's great and to watch the kids in that type of an environment. We took the grandkids Teo, a butterfly farm out in Arizona. I think it was a California. And they just went crazy, as did I, The biggest kid of all its an amazing sight and we have a butterfly house here in ST Louis. The next time you come up this way, we'll take you out there. Oh, absolutely. That sounds fantastic. And you know, it's not that far of a trip from from ST Louis. I was just saying it's about 400 Miles or so. So, you know, ST Louis on DH, Memphis Atlanta. Even Louisville on Lexington. Chicago's Not that far away. Were you Get on the interstate. Yeah, Yeah, It's easy, Tio get here and to get from here to the other locations as well. I was there for an event with media several years ago, and when I left there, I ended up having been given a flight suit. And I just I couldn't believe it. I love it. There's only one problem. I kept growing. And it didn't have that. Taylor. I think We have friends that live in Huntsville and we enjoy visiting the A man. He went to school at EMU out here in Colombia. So they come up this way on occasion, but One day he took me on a drive. And we just go. First of all, we goto all upon shops and out to unclaimed baggage. And then we drove around town and looked at all of the architecture and I have to tell you, it's astounding. We're we're extremely fortunate. We're one of the oldest cities in Alabama. We were actually the first capital of the state. So we have architectural ranging from the early 18 hundreds. Huntsville was founded in 18 05. So we have historic district downtown, the date from the early 18 hundreds, and then we have district bordering about the oldest. That go up into the 19 thirties in 19 forties, those beautiful craftsman style homes, other credible Victorian homes, So yes, yeah. We need to take a break. Charles and we'll come back and talk some more about the great city of Huntsville. Because there's so much to see and do there. You are listening to the travel planners radio show and we would like to hear from you. Where do you live? What's your favorite destination? Tell us where you've been. You might be a guest on the radio. We can arrange that. Kevin A nd sou travel at yahoo dot com. And of course, make sure you check.
