NFL Playoff Predictions: Green Bay Packers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

"We'll start things off in the nfc where the green bay packers playing host to the tampa. Bay buccaneers. You're looking at green bay. Three and a half point favorite at faneuil sportsbook total in this game at fifty one and a half and pain. When i dug into this game i was blown away not by some of the statistics that are there the xs and os but by the simple fact that this'll be aaron rodgers first. Nfc title game. That will at home given everything he's been able to accomplish in his career and greenvale have something pretty strong working in their favor when you consider that since the wild card round began in nineteen seventy eight teams playing their third straight road game or just five and twelve against the spread for thirteen straight up so tampa get have to work against that particular trend but when you have the greatest of all time at the quarterback position. I'm sure a lot of your fears are swayed by all of that when you try and identify some of the matchups here we know these teams that. You're just assuming. Patrick mahomes doesn't get seven. Well a patron hose may seven. But he's not the go he might be the go in waiting. And who knows. Maybe we'll get a ceremonial passing of the baton from tom to patrick in tampa in two short weeks. But we're getting ahead of ourselves there as well when you look at this particular game and i know we go through the offense versus defense but which side of the ball is going to be more fascinating for you to watch tom. Brady against this. Suddenly resurgent packers defense. Who in my opinion really hasn't been tested over the last couple of weeks or aaron rodgers looking to atone for his worst performance of the season against the tampa bay bucks defensive front. I think they're both interesting. Obviously in one thing that we've talked about air this entire postseason is we're getting some good matchups. We're getting some great games. We have to be thrilled with the four teams remaining. And i know browns fans won't like this but we don't have a team that's undeserving or doesn't belong. We don't have a team. That's seven and a half eight win. Team somehow sneaking their way into the final four so to speak here with with an upset win and then taking advantage of an injury to the most important play like we have the four teams. Here that are right up there in the power rankings. You could certainly say the saints or there but you know if if i think we knew exactly what was wrong with drew brees report we might not have the saints as the top five credential. You you mean his wife coming out and saying he played the latter portion of the season with a torn labor. Him didn't have any effect on his lacklustre efforts. Throwing the ball downfield torn torn labor. M- rotator cuff torn plantar fascia and still had. I guess three fractured ribs most healed but right and so i think that was part of the the line move last week now for sure looking at this right in this match while we're getting the great games and i of go back to my initial thought here while we're getting the great matchups for us to watch there's so much variance there so many like holes to attack. That team can do that. Like sometimes you get games whereas like you break them down. Nearly there's nothing really there. These games have a lot here. And whichever one can. It's going to cause this massive variance in the game. I think we even said that last week in the packers we're going to find out who's for real. We think the packers defense is packers. Offense is really good. We think the rams defense is really good. Neither of really played a tough schedule. And i get aaron. Donald was injured last week. But i think we kind of saw. What the rams were when. They went up against an elite offense because they hadn't really faced any elite offense is aside from my guess what you could call a familiar opponent with russell wilson seattle. Who is trending horrifically to end the season. So let's start there right. And i think the obvious element the thing that we'll talk about a lot because it's worth bringing up what you'll probably. Here's you listen to a lot of breakdowns of this game all week and the one thing that can really swing this game. I think is pressure on aaron rodgers. Can the the buccaneers defense make aaron rodgers uncomfortable. And i think it's pretty pretty simple. That's going to be the largest determining factor of this game and if you're going to get a situation where aaron rodgers is strong from clean pocket. The game's over right. It's done with of quarterbacks with at least one hundred and twenty-five dropbacks aaron rodgers number one in the nfl one thirty passer rating from a clean pockets got forty touchdown four picks and clean bach suggested completion percentage when kept clean is eighty five percent. If you don't pressure. Rogers like you're not going into lambeau in january with possible weather and beating him

Kemba Walker Rusty, But Also ‘Pain-Free’ In Return For Boston Celtics vs. New York Knicks

"Boston celtics had a bad weekend and kimball walking. I would call them. Losers kemba walker. I had a bad return simply because they got smoked at harm by the new york knicks by thirty points and kemba walker made his return now again. He didn't have a great game individually but he got through the game although he did leave in the third quarter with injury. He was fine to return if he could have been. He was that his minutes restriction. So he wasn't gonna come back now. We're getting drilled anyway but kemba walker said after all the right things felt good to be back at their now. It's just a matter of getting some getting his wind back and he's hoping to have that minutes restriction lifted. These things usually take probably three or four games at least Before we get there but one of the probably as a bit crazy we've seen some strange scores a strange result but seeing the boston celtics get absolutely hammered. No jason tatum. Who's out with coronavirus. Right now by thirty to attain the knicks. Who have been awful. Recently was a real big surprise really. I know the celtics hadn't played so they were a bit rusty. But i don't think we really expected them to get hammett what By that much. Good signs for the knicks. Obi toppin they rookie came back Hit two threes as well. We we heard all about how he played at close to the rim. They knocked down threes last night. That's how confident he was feeling. Took four two of them so that was great. Julius randle had another very good game here for the knicks for the celtics. They just couldn't get it going at all here at thirty five points in the first half alone And i think it was only fifty after three quarters they had yes so really shocking performance here from the celtics once they get back once they get jason tatum back. I think they'll be fine but this is the one they want to flush down. The toilet drilled at harm. And that's what the coaches say. I don't really want to evaluate this guy just like let's just flush the toilet.

Who's Adopting AI for Chat and Customer Support? - with Abinash Tripathy of Helpshift

"So nash. I want to catch up with you here on the topic of who is adopting when it comes to artificial intelligence for chat. That's your world. It's wild you've been in there for what nine years now. Two thousand eleven or something like that. So you've seen a lot evolve you know when you think about who is really picking up on this who's starting to layer on top of their their serve chat conversations in a fruitful way. Who who do you see those early adopters or anything. They have in common with her industry size. Whatever a very good question. So i if you think about automation the effort in trying to get automation going in an enterprise. The biggest auto identity comes from people that are having high volumes of interactions. So you say when you find that as high volume deductions that are specific. Industries were customer service has very high volume of interactions and it's difficult visible in two ways. One is just they just have high volume second. Is the number of agency employees in contact center right. So if you think of industries that basically have the highest number of agence dealing with customer service. Those happen to be beat. Ac- industries anything that has to do with you know retail banking utilities telecom gaming which is where we got our start right because think about gaming for the second we gotta start in gaming because they are like any of the largest social media networks in the world they have hundreds of millions of people blaming online every month right so the monthly active users in gaming environment is massive. It's as biggest telecom and the volume is proportional to play the game. But i really think about the game. People wonder why gaming such big customer service. 'cause great games are just like casinos or retail outlets people play a game but to the game is a store and the store is usually selling stuff right that people buy an anytime people buy stuff that are all kinds of issues that can happen. The game itself may have issues. That are game blaze. She was that a fraud issues. This bullying issues all kinds of seeing the gaming world so we are starting gaming simply because gaming is a very digitally focused digital first world for them. The phone is a foreign concept. They don't want to have a phone based on people calling them on. The phones added costs so much money to serve a phone call so they want everything to be digital first until we dominate the gaming industry. Whether it is the largest games in the world that i can rattle off my mouth all of them of our help shifts right so that's where we got her start and now what we're seeing is. Lauded the bbc industries like to be dealt hospitality travel telecom deck banking at all. You know they have the dynamics but some of don those tend to be very traditional banking and banking does not have a digital first approach. Though i would argue both covid. Everybody's evaluating take time. What what their strategy is. Because you know if you noticed in observed when kobe what really happened. I wanted to lead this to you. Dan is that most of these. Contact centers. Operate with agents in manila manila down. And these workers that work in contact centers don't have internet cut home. Didn't even have computers. They had to come through physical facilities in manila Phone calls they couldn't even be online right so phone. Contact centers were shown hard immediately following all the lockdowns around the world. Right so my bank. For example chase dick would be when there was no way they could serve any of my phone calls right Goes if you had to do banking good luck that idea to wait for many days. Get through the phone contacts so everybody. Every large to a vertical is starting to think about how do better leverage digital and specifically in digital self service capabilities and so if you now that down subsurface capabilities broken up in gulick automation technology in lots or informational self service. So that's what i think. It's what we're doing is so interesting. Got it so just to touch on where you started. This kind of explanation was that you began in gaming because it's so digitally native and it's so averse to the phone right if you're a seventeen year old or a twenty seven year old in you're in the middle of a game. Yeah you're you're not gonna call a company you know that's something your mom would do. You're just going to chat or you're gonna put in an email ticket or whatever the case be so. That's a digitally native space. You mentioned retail. Do you see sort of basically for for retailers in terms of adopting a and chat from your perception looking out of the market whereas their trash and where whereas they're real buyers for this stuff is just a function of how big the retailer is or is it a function of both how big they are and their relative amount of revenue from e commerce. Because i would imagine that that would be indicative of their digital savvy on some level what are the factors that make a retailer more hot to trot more likely to actually be doing the kind of work that you guys do with other vendors or whatever i think do dynamics blame the bill segment. One is look at the gross margins of redel even e commerce businesses like amazon right. The gross margins are single digit vegetables single digit percent. Maybe even one percent right and with those kinds of gross margins yearly want the most effective customer service model right not that you want the cheapest most effective customer service model. And so it's it's there's a lotta margin pressure in the retail business. That's driving the shift digital but more importantly post covid. What has happened is if you look at the large format retailers like walmart for example for the first time what they've seen are completely changed sort of forced behavioral change in in the shopping process. Right so walmart now if you look at what's going on it's all like curbside delivery and cook's at pickup right so you can you can order ahead to a digital service like apple. A website like walmart dot com or target dot com and you can then scheduled to go pick up the products in the store during the walk into the store and walking the aisles. Thanks to the holiday shopping models changed. I would say that whole delivery. Big up curbside pickup. Even the food industry were observing this right. So all the restaurants like whether it's mcdonald's or at all like doubling down on the on the apps for ordering because it's all about pickup and got means you have to be able to order you don't want people calling the call center order. You would rather have a digital app where they can do that and so a lot of things can go wrong in that you know that whole process you order your orders delay and you need to talk to somebody deal time. messaging Becomes the perfect way to solve that and having people call a call center. Wait on the phone for twenty minutes back agent to those. The dynamics are mostly margin pressure and this changed sort of behavior of you know orbiting big our pickups or

NYSE Says Again It Will Delist Three Chinese Telecom Stocks

"The trump administration is in its final days. But that doesn't mean that they're not still pressing ahead with their aggressive china policy when it comes to tech president trump has signed an executive order banning transactions with aunt groups ali pay tencent's wechat pay and q. Q. as well as five other chinese payment apps quoting reuters lee order argues that the united states must take aggressive action against developers of china software applications to protect national security it tasks the commerce department with defining which transactions will be banned under the directive within forty five days and targets tencent holdings q. q. And we chat pay as well quote by accessing personal electronic devices such smartphones tablets and computers chinese connected software applications can access and capture vast swaths of information from users including sensitive personally identifiable information and private information. The executive order states such data collection quote would permit china to track the locations of federal employees and contractors and build dossiers of personal information the document ads and quote so as i've said several times when it relates to the subject i still haven't developed a definitive opinion about this whole tech cold war with china. Smart people. I know really do believe that. China's tech ambitions are set to the us's dominance in various ways and so must be meaningfully countered the problem. I'm having though is at least these last few years. The trump administration in my opinion hasn't put together a coherent argument about what they're doing. Or why so. It's hard for me to even form an opinion. That's not me being political. That's just me being someone in the tech industry that feels this whole posture. Vis-a-vis china by the government has been maddeningly inconsistent. So far case in point after pressure from the us government. The new york stock exchange said it would delist the stocks of three chinese companies china mobile china telecom and china unicom in order to satisfy an executive order imposing restrictions to prevent american companies and individuals from investing in companies identified as being affiliated with the chinese military. Now that was always the plan they were going to list these three companies and then two days ago the nyse reverse course and said it would no longer dealers those companies now today. they're reversing the reverse quoting cnbc. The exchange reversed that decision on monday causing much confusion treasury secretary mnuchin told the exchange that he disagreed with the original reversal. A senior administration official told. Cnbc's eamon jabar's the mis's said the latest reversal was due to new guidance. From treasury's office of foreign assets control that said people in the us could not engage in certain transactions with the three companies as of next monday trading of the three securities will be suspended at four pm eastern time on monday the exchange said and quote. See what. I mean confusing as all get out isn't it. China mobile is a one hundred billion dollar company. I believe they've been listed on the nyse for more than a decade. As i said before around these issues capitalism requires a clear set of rules that everyone involved in the great game of capitalism can understand if you don't know what the parameters of engaging and capitalism are then that's not capitalism so i guess one of the bigger questions going into the new year does president biden have as big an ax to grind with china tech as president trump. Did and will we get a more coherent position. Vis-a-vis chinese tech

Blame Jon Gruden for the Raiders’ loss to the Dolphins... but do it for the right reason

"Raiders lost to miami. Las vegas raiders are now seven and eight. They missed the playoffs again. This year and the blame has got to go on. Jon gruden their head. Coach I i like jon gruden. I think there have been moments where he's done a good job preparing his team to play. I thought the highlight of the year for las vegas. Raiders was beating the kansas city chiefs. They looked very well prepared. That a great game plan But again this loss to miami coach. The recent failures by the raiders has to go on. Jon gruden you're gonna blame jon gruden for the loss. Make sure you do it for the right reason. So all the attention after this game has gone onto john. Gruden's late dame decision making against miami. Where the raiders had the ball first and goal on the eight yard line with a minute and fifty five seconds left. And the raiders chose to not score a touchdown they had. I mean they first of all they had the running back. Josh jacobs literally taking the other one yard line that he slid down to avoid scoring and did not want a touchdown would have given them a six point lead because they had they were down gas. Were down twenty four twenty five so they didn't want to have a six point lead. They wanted to take as much time off the clock as possible then on third and goal derek carr literally kneeled to continue to run the clock down and they kicked field goal. Giving them a twenty five to twenty three lead with nineteen seconds. Left in the game and people are critical. The strategy like you should have done other stuff. You should've taken the touchdown you should've done. Whatever coulda woulda should say whatever you want to say. I don't think this is the reason to criticize john. Gruden every once in a while you have a strategy. That is a good strategy. That simply doesn't work. I play video. What is it not a tabletop. Game like a board game called settlers of catan a giant nerd and my family. We all play during christmas. And i had a great strategy of putting my game pieces on the the number eight. Meaning that if you have to you have a high percentage chance of rolling in eight like you would think yeah. It's literally six and eight or two of the highest six eight and seven like the highest possible. Things could roll when you're rolling. Two dice and eighths just never got role but i waited and waited my whole strategy revolves around rolling eight with these two dice. And it didn't happen. And i don't know this the probability or whatever. I just know that on paper. That's a good strategy. Like eight gets rolled all the time and this game. It was an anomaly. It didn't happen and that happens sometimes every once in a while you good strategy that for one reason or another. There's an anomaly. And it doesn't work out

Cowboys vs. Eagles score: Michael Gallup leads aerial assault against Philadelphia, keeps Dallas alive in NFC East

"Dallas cowboys ended the philadelphia eagles season on sunday afternoon at. At and t. stadium. That's right the eagles now with only four wins with only one game left even though the cowboys will need some help from them. The philadelphia eagles are officially done. And we'll have to look forward to two thousand and twenty one when their quarterback will be jalen hurts full-time or carson wentz. Who knows there's a lot to get into as it as it relates to this game again so many things happen. Let's start the first highlight to show you here. If you're watching on youtube sean. Jackson did indeed have an eighty one yard touchdown. Jalen hurts finds him about six minutes left in the first quarter. Just absolutely rose. We had absolutely chance. This is the type of thing that we've grown accustomed to seeing. Unfortunately from sean jackson he has gotten the better end of the cowboys for a long time over a decade. Schon jackson has been shown the cowboys now with multiple quarterbacks in multiple home stadiums schon jackson has had success. I'll give it to him that. At least this time. He remembered to score the touchdown and not fumbled the ball right in front of the goal line. Let's keep on. Let's get to some more happy. Highlights and michael gallup who was in contention for our star of the game. His first touchdown was a beauty as the second quarter. Began getting the cowboys. Back in the mix narrowing the margin. Fourteen to ten michael gallup like i said look at that elite camera work from fox. We'll talk about that in a second. Michael gallup quickly got to work. He had a big gain a little bit after a few minutes later. Look at this starting his own thirty five running down the sideline a bunch of eagles chasing him. Michael gallup doing all the work doing all the work doing all the work and then speaking of work you know the cowboys as we all know they like to feed ezekiel elliott. This was later on that possession the cowboys trailing fourteen. Ten and ezekiel elliott. There's no video of this so apologies. If you're watching on youtube you can see our freeze frame image. A looked like ezekiel elliott. Who had a really great game really looked like he scored on. This place is a bad angles from the tv copy but to me to my naked eye it looks like zeke. Elliott is over the line. I think that that's a touchdown. Zeke mike mccarthy did not challenge this. The cowboys wound up settling for fuel narrowing the margin fourteen to thirteen. They would ultimately start their climb back and they're ferocious. Climb back in fact. Let's get to that. Climb another michael gallup touched down here at the end of the first half andy dalton not even messing around just looking right for him and michael gallup again just a superstar a true wide receiver. One cowbys have three of them. Dalton schultz you can see very happy for his teammate. This was a phenomenal performance by michael gap

JRPG Report Episode 144 - The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Black First Details - burst 02

"Hello friends welcome back to the show. This is the g. rpg. Report episode one hundred and forty five little bit weird this week and we knew it was going to be with christmas eve falling on our normal release date and of course christmas the next day and there must situation My little girl's birthday being the day after christmas so yeah we get a bang bang. Bang three a craziness there. Obviously just mitt that there was really no time to reporter Record a podcast. Even before christmas was just too hectic so We're recording this on saturday. The twenty seventh just a couple days left in twenty twenty. Goodbye rents But we've got a lot of cool things to talk about today. I kinda wanna wrap up all the stuff that we've missed as it's been nine days since our last pockets. No i'm sorry that's not even right. That is fuzzy. Math is been eleven days since our last podcast. So we've got a few things to go over That have popped off. Since then. And i wanna kinda look look forward to sometime this week. Mean jordan are going to get together and kind of talk about What games we really loud from. Twenty twenty maybe even discussed some Game of the year options and then look forward to twenty twenty one as Right off the bat. We got a bunch of games coming out in the beginning of the first the new year. We got to tell you rods two. You've got bravely default to you've got he's nine And the newly Confirmed for some of five strikers. Just a name The the big big ones I'm sure there'll be others. That will be unfortunately lost in the in the way. So we're going to record that sometime this week and In lieu of any news breaking. I may just make that part of the normal podcast unsure on that. But let's get into it. I hope you guys had a wonderful christmas holiday I didn't have any games that i particularly wanted that. We're already out. So i just kind of asked Asked the parents for Email confirmation that beginning Today risa to when it comes out on january twenty six that was cool and i did end up much too. Many of your delight. Hopefully i'm finally going to take a dive into these series. I picked up. Yee's eight for only twenty dollars on the ps story. I could not refuse as the physical version just refuses to ever go down in price so i figured this was by far the best opportunity. Get in on. What many consider to be a very very good. Jr pg and at some point. I'll be playing. It don't really know when that's going to be but that's enough rambling We did have fell. Calm day Twenty twenty winter addition and we got a few tidbits of information about the new legend of heroes. Toddle kiro no koseki if you notice the thumbnail for this Podcast are the two newest main characters is a third as well but these They dig use some high-rise resolution images of the to unsure why the third one was kind of like ashaari pow We'll get you later but still no names for these two characters but we do have a bit of information stuff. You see that image. There's a couple other on our facebook and twitter feed of those two characters while they are. I say have that trails feel to them. I do kind of agree with what president condo said last time that at mediate Glance they don't appear to be trails characters. And i believe that lies in the fact that they are from calvert So they're going to look a little bit different and we'll talk about that in just a little bit. These illustrations were drawn by katsumi. Nama and the other characters are from alcom. Like i said the character's names were not announced to this game is coming out sometime in twenty twenty one in japan so those were the images. There were some other ones as well. If you'd like to see all those. I did put up a slide show video on our youtube channel. So you can check those out if you don't feel like clicking through pictures of via the website here is what we do know and i will just read this to you as this is the about for the new age of heroes karoo new koseki beyond the blue sky ahead of flashing light a land. A dawning resides cuba. There's no spoilers going on in here. This is all preliminary stuff in the news story arc. So we don't have to worry about that type of stuff the ladder this latter half of the trails. There is about to begin. The setting moved to the calvert republic in two thousand and twenty one foul calm release. Legend heroes kernigan the latest entering the trail serious as its fortieth anniversary rumors of work. The calvert nation is a multi ethnic nation experiencing unprecedented economic growth. Brought about by post war reparations. In a corner of the capital of a huge nation were immigration issues bringing about political instability. Okay well maybe. There are some spoilers in here okay. let's just get to the best. I'm sorry i read that. And i didn't think about it until just now okay. The command style action time bow system. You didn't previous trails. Titles has been revamped and that's going to set up an from a couple people. Let's just see what they said. Seamlessly transitioned from action oriented field battles to turn based commands battle to turn based command battle systems while making use of the unique elements the sixth generation combat or meant would try to pronounce his last time. I'm not sure how it is x. I f. r. x. i. p. h. a. z. Feel in a ballots to evolve from the previous trails titles. Okay so what does that mean. I don't. I don't know i really don't know how to had say seamlessly transition from action oriented field battles to turn based command battle systems I i mean obviously there's a bit of an extra element when you strike the enemies on the field in order to go into the turn based battle i. I need to see this in action to really know what they're even beginning to talk about would just have to wait and see You will feature many elements you laws. It's setting including a topics system which enabled together until such topics by communicating with. Mpc's out towns tra- gate situations in your favor when you act as a spray gun and that is the The character it's basically a detective. But they're calling them spring and alignment flame system. In which characters three alignments great and chaotic fluctuate depending on your own style influencing various status allies and adversaries and even scenario developments please look forward to allege heroes lowest entrance toasters depicted enrich expression by thumbs new original ingen. So that's that's pretty cool Here's what how they set up the situation and I get. I don't wanna get too much into this. The to emit the two people that you see in the image the one is the one call the speaker those are they say sometimes detective somedays negotiators and other days as bounty hunters. They're up for any job from any client. That's pretty cool And then the other one is Say to be a school girl wearing uniform. Prestigious school visits a rundown building located in old town in cowards capital. So that's the setting that's beginning of it. You can check out those images. Like i said there's a third character in the images as well with the two swords on his back and some long hair but we don't have any details. There is a battle scene that shows what looks like to be a craft or an art powering up but that from that snippet it does look to be turn based. So don't i'm so confused as to what to make. But i'm certainly excited about this one. But the lack of details and the promise of something new is leading to some question marks popping up. And i don't necessarily love that idea but it is what it is and until we learn a little bit more. It's just going to be speculation Unfortunately though that wasn't the only bit of information. And i'm sure we'll have a bunch more but Foul calm day twenty twenty winter. Also let us know about and this is not really affecting us as much. But they did. Say that a hatch marco koseki which is the one before this one and after cold steel four Clouded leopard entertainment will release a switch. Pc esteemed version of the game Sometime in summer. Twenty twenty one in japan in asia. I'm nearly positive. That's the same company that handled The transition for coastal three and four to the top of my head. So i came out for. Ps four in japan on august twenty seventh. So you know nearly a year later. They're talking summer to get that Switch pc version now. It handles the asian side of this and i s america handles the translation available. At least they have for the past two games In the cold still series in the west still no confirmation that that translation is ongoing. That have to assume that it is unless it's being handled by other parties I mean exceed did do the first two trills of cold steel games but at imagine that they are going to do this hedge amari as well and as soon as i hear something about that it will happen. It's certainly a good thing that this is happening and It could lead to a speedier at least for these games in the west. But like i said still no information on unfortunately. The last thing that they talked about was not briefly. Mentioned this last time the natto. noca- seki game. That is coming out in japan for For playstation four. This was the old Two thousand twelve least. Psp action rpg though some new details and images kinda showing the ps p version versus the Ps four version of it They're sent opposites gonna run at sixty frames per second on. Ps four with more vibrant graphics. Not being obviously these are things that you'd want to have updated from an old old system user interface options One thing that i thought was very interesting. And i'm not to say what they say. This game is not connected to the trails game. However the main character's name is now utah herschel now you trails players especially cold. Steel will know towa. Her last name is hershal So what they're they say there's no connection but then there's a connection is the protagonist and a boy from that island who attends and academy in saint elise. Those aren't you know aren't names that i recognized the from the trails series so it is very very interesting and i would be would like to know what that connection is at kind of read through it. You can read through the tales. Like i said before i am lower on the percentage scale To say of this game was actually going to make it over here or not. I if i if you say your day is gonna come today out outs. Action say no but would just have to wait and see. The original game did not look super impressive. So this isn't a game that i'm all that excited about to begin with but we'll have to. We'll just have to wait and see if that indeed happens for a lot of switch owners the next. Gop g they will more than likely be picking up is going to be bravely default to gain closer and closer to that february twenty. Sixth rolled wide release date friend square annex released new trailer for it albeit in japanese and have still not seen an english version of this yet so it talks all well. That's just the winner that don't into it's been Hit with a couple delays here lately. Not sure how much. Everything's pandemic related at this point but how much they just wanna fine tune things in. How much is really needed to make this work. Engine which looks amazing Definitely if you're looking forward to this you should check it out sometime in twenty twenty. One is the release date Four it but again. This is one of those. Well not one of those but this is the faa gain. That i'm kind of just don't understand why it's not on playstation four. In the west it is in japan. But you've got to either play on xbox or on pc here in the west doesn't make a ton of sense but there's just things like that in this world that we gotta kinda get used to them. I guess we got three bits of sky news this week. i is. You can check out the fourth official trailer for six defiance of destiny I believe there's an english. There's an english version for this out. Now you can check it out. There was originally came out. There was just a japanese version but the english version shows off of really cool voices that they've got for the game. Talent in this one in Very fitting for the series especially the little reincarnated pug services is awesome It's about seven or review of the game If you are curious about what's going on in this one changes that they've made this series. You will definitely want to check it out. Of course it doesn't come out in the west until summer. Twenty twenty one. Japan is going to get it in right about a month on january. The twenty eighth The other day actually. This was on christmas eve that this news broke New punchy released some new information screenshots for the game featuring and i hope i get these names right la haro aetna and flown Those were the original characters from the original the sky and they are saying that Basically once you beat the game you can Play a scenario with these original characters in it so kind of a you know. They're not in the main game this something post post content but the fact that they're in their would open the door to other characters popping up from other games as well. So that's a cool thing The world inside of an item. I m worlds have mended. Detailed in this article on worlds are divided into several fours slash layers and the items level increases with every four. That you clear says weapons become stronger as they level up. You can clear there either. Worlds to power them up once. An item is leveled up. You can get the same item at the same level from then on pretty cool feature of the sky series all these images i took input into a slide show. You can check that out on our youtube channel so you can dispatch companions into item worlds to research them. There's a new team attack system with up to ten characters in it. That's a pretty cool feature. New enemies were detailed There's a new horsemen. That's pretty crazy. So here's the Previous protagonist Oh here we go says not only will hear from. Our doctors appear the protagonist in heroines of the sky. Two three four and five will also appear in three d. The protagonist and heroines wilburs as downloadable content sometime after the launch of disguise six. So there's a from the sky to or i don't know in timika these pronunciations. I'm at risk of offending people. I understand how they're supposed to be pronounced So yeah they're gonna add them in there as as post content deal see. That's the type of thing. Like i would think you'd be okay with paying for because that's obviously not a part of disguise six. They are previous games characters in new content. So take how you feel about. Dlc that is that's one thing i think is is no k To do speaking of all those previous disguised characters they are all assembled in the rpg. Mobile game And we got news from bolt chain games that they will release worldwide the mobile version the sky arc in spring. Brazil australia and the philippines sometime in january so really happy to see this thing go worldwide. Houston's James Harden reminds other NBA teams why they should trade for him with sparkling 44-point debut

"Let's talk about James Harden because he played his first game and by the way, think about the circumstances here because James Harden that they make the trade right. Russell Westbrook goes out. John Wall comes in Russell Westbrook. You know he was a bit of a problem. Hardened wanted somebody else in here. He wanted wall. They get wall. Everything's fine, You know, like, maybe we hardened gets traded at some point, but that's gonna fix things and obviously doesn't it doesn't do that at all. Hardened doesn't show up for the start of the season on time. He's not exactly interested. So you have a brand new head coach of Brand new GM and your superstar is M I A Great. Where is he? Paul? Silas? I don't know. I've no it is Stephen Silas. That's it. Yes, it is. Dad's Paul. Right? So, Yeah. So, Stephen Silence. I'll get there sees forgettable. That's why James Harden doesn't like him. No, I don't know anything about Steven stylist on that year T bash the guy, but I'm gonna make that mistake more than once now. Here's the thing for Harden did not show up and be partying and then get punished for that. And then, a week later, he's out partying again. If he dodges, he dodges the fine because the game gets postponed that the Rockets were supposed to open their season against the thunder. That game did not happen because the Rockets didn't have eight players to play the game. Now one of those guys that wasn't available Was hard and so if hard and was there, I think they would have been able to play the game. I'm not 100% on that. But I'll double check that, but he made his debut finally for the Rockets. Tonight now. Great game. By the way. I mean, my goodness hell of a game. They played the Blazers and the Blazers air Great, like when I look at the NBA, and I think about teams that just I would love to watch on any given night. If you tell me that team is playing somebody decent. I'm gonna watch that game Blazers. Absolutely. Top five favorite team like I I just loved Damian Lillard. I love the attitude over there. I just think there are fun Team. So Blazers Houston Rockets game goes into overtime. CJ McCollum playing lights out, hitting three pointers James Harden in his debut, playing lights out basketball, You look great. And I'll give you the stat line because for hard and it's one of those things where you're gonna be a little worried about what he looks like. There's been questions about what kind of shape is in and so for him to not get that work in its already shortened off season. You just kind of wonder. Okay? How does James Harden look? Well, he answered every question he possibly could. In 43 minutes. James Harden 44 points 17 assists. I mean, wow. Wow. Like, what else can you say? Just And and that's the fascinating thing about all of this. This is where it gets really curious because You see, James Harden put up 44 17. And everyone immediately forgets about everything that happened and That's why he gets away with it right. Like everybody is going to be going nuts now. Anybody that is in the conversation to get James Harden? They want him right? Like I'll be curious. If you're a fan of the teams there six teams right now that have been connected the heart and that he said that he's willing to go there off the top of my head. I know Milwaukee. Portland, Philly, Brooklyn, Boston. I know missing one more, but To be a fan of one of those six teams that hardens interested in For all the debating and questioning of what kind of teammate is he? What kind of effort is he going to put in? What does he look like? In two years, you know, Because obviously you're trading for these two years. But maybe you want to keep him around. What does he look like? You know, can you buy into him with all of his habits that we've talked about so much over the last couple of weeks? Well, you put up 44 17 his first game back. Who cares, right? That's what a lot of people are going to say. And if you're a team that's desperate to win right now, That's what a lot of them are going to say. That's what a lot of front offices are going to say. That's the argument is he is such a supremely talented player that as much as we've squabbled Over who he is and what he's about, and what his trade value is. He is this ridiculously good at scoring the basketball and This is what the league is for. They play basketball, So you put the character stuff aside. If he's good enough of doing the job that's the life of a superstar.

Cleveland Browns to Face Baltimore Ravens in Monday night game

"There are a lot of big matchups. You have the Sunday night football game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Buffalo Bills. But Monday night football is no joke as we get the Baltimore Ravens going up against the Cleveland Browns, let's head to Cleveland right now to be joined by my God, she go Boram and she got you doing my friend. I'm doing well, but he ever you doing fantastic. Let's start here really impressive win for the Browns or last Sunday against Tennessee. How did they get out to that big lead the first half? I think it was a credit Torus Lee. You know Baker had the great first half, but I thought Kevin's too fancy. Um, you know, all week long. It was talked about, you know? Hey, they're going to establish the run and you know, awful play action. Hopefully be able to hit some passes downfield, and it was kind of those two teams gonna marry each other in that regard. But really, I mean Kevin's to fan ski, and he has been talking about it recently in the last few weeks. About how You know, Baker kind of the training wheels coming off a little bit and and kind of letting him let him go a little bit, And he clearly did that. In the first half, Baker found a rhythm. He was I mean, white hot. And, uh, you know, he just kept going and you know, they thought it was a great game pick plan, but I thought more importantly, it was about Kevin's too fancy, just trusting him and saying You know what? Go out, do it. You've got the talent and go get it done, And he did. It's funny because when you kind of hold it up against the last couple of weeks, because I remember at least my timeline with buzz, and I imagine yours was there was a wide open receiver in the Jacksonville game that he missed, and I'm sitting there thinking to myself. I'm like, how in the world does an NFL quarterback missed that play? You also had a Karim hunt coming underneath them. He could have could have dumped it off to him, and probably Both would have scored a touchdown. When you look at Baker Mayfield, would you say last Sunday is the best that he's played in the Browns uniforms. Yes, without a doubt. Um, you know, you said, uh, you know, second half furs that Bangles verse versus the Bangles. What was that week? Seven. I think it was He looked pretty good. Um, but I think this one coming right out of the gate. Hey, just seemed to be in such a rhythm. And you mean you saw him? It wasn't just dink and dunk. He was thrown passes downfield. Um, he kind of really caught Kind of sea and Mike Grable's de um by surprise. I think a little bit, but he's just You know, he seems to be a lot more comfortable parents and a lot more confident in the offense, which is what Kevin's defense Key had been saying, really since the midway point when they had their bye week. And I think last week we hope anyway was a sign of things to come. I mean, obviously, you know Tennessee's defense. Not what it was before, Uh, say last couple of years, but, um, you know, he did. He did a hell of a job. Now it's a matter of you know, you got Baltimore coming up on Monday. You still got another match up with the Steelers, and we all know what the Steelers did last time. Now it's okay. Can can Baker keep this thing going against two teams that have given him some issues this year alone, So hopefully that's gonna be that's gonna be the big the big thing for Baker. Mike, What's the feeling

No. 3 Ohio State has no problem with Spartans in 52-12 win

"It was unclear whether number for a house state would be able to play their game against Michigan state they played missing three starting offensive linemen and their head coach Ryan day led from start to finish routing the Spartans fifty two to twelve a pair of juniors little house it is quarterback Justin fields and receiver Chris a lot of it connected on ten passes for one hundred thirty nine yards field also rushed for one hundred four for a total of three oh three which is impressive with his depleted offensive line we had to change the game plan a little bit but I think you know the office of line adjusted well to what we had you know in for this game and I think those guys played a great game for being the first game so I'm just I'm just proud of those guys and by the way they stepped up in total the Buckeyes listed twenty three players unavailable up from eight against Indiana but the depth proved to be too much for the Spartans I miss you only converted three of seventeen third downs and issue forced for Spartan turnovers and held MSU to just two hundred sixty one yards of total offense to their five hundred and twenty one RT Martin east Lansing Michigan

Bruce we've got two undefeated teams meeting saturday new year six Implications you know i. I was not rooting for liberty to to get bad results by any means. You don't want anybody to to get covid. But the upshot of it is we actually got a better game. Yeah i think in some ways this as much as any game we've had kind of an capsule isas Pity misers twenty twenty college football season the fact that this game was basically thrown together in the last forty eight hours Dino have coaches from from byu who are basically doing a crash course study on coastal and now vice versa. It's happening and on top of it is probably the most interesting game of the of the weekend in were in early december. I was gonna say late november but yeah we're in early december late in the year and to me this is the most compelling matchup of the weekend

"Tribe and the tribe was something that happened due to survival. We found that it was in the beginning especially it was necessary to have other people to help you to survive right through set. This precedent from the tribe arrived the religion and the religion said there is a reason ross existing other than just to survive here and we are different to other people and we or they Deserve something good or bad so the tribes started for survival. The religion gave a reason and the state advanced. A method and the method of the state is that there are certain explicit rules that are pragmatic. We're not telling you necessarily what's going to happen when you die or we're not telling you about the intangible spiritual things but we are telling you that if you steal an elephant you're going to jail because that is not what makes society work so let's let's put in these rules that allow something like a super tribe to exist. You know so then. We went from the state to the corporation. And what the corporation says is Still kinda left open to question. But in my in my opinion what will ultimately become the biggest player in the great game will be some sort of british east india thing some sort of private corporation. I could easily see in. Our lifetimes is the worst part. I could easily see in our lifetimes. Some sort of state or area of the world that is transparently and obviously controlled by a corporation. And i don't mean some sort of sticky corruption charge me. Want to live there. Yeah i mean like luxembourg presented by google. No i think it's just to be google stand or google. I mean an example. Stand that will exist before you and i don. And here's the thing here's the thing. Depending on what core which corporation it is or how it works out. It might be better than the alternative. It might actually be better to live in google stunned and terrible as that sounds now. We have to remember that. The human race and in trying to work with itself is as continual evolution. So i think that soon nyc sooner mean the grand scheme of things The corporation which would be the fourth step will supersede. The state have a what comes after the corporation man. I don't know i. I just want to go to space under the is with you. I just. I want to go to space. I'm not going to sell my soul for ticket. I don't really believe in too much of that anyway but just in case. I'm not going to sell it. You can metaphorically fill your soul. You metaphor do you remember that simpsons episode bart sold his soul and he couldn't fog the glass and the automatic door. What nope unfairly. A man that got to me functioned on seoul is an interesting more than a serving that got to me. I thought those doors are convenient. What will i do. Oh the simpsons. "An well there. Maybe there will be one empire who knows maybe lead death star. Like and yeah. It's gonna be really intense cloaked dudes that some kind of supernatural power. I would be in really your democracy for superpower. Are you kidding. Well if it feels like we have to head that way is as as much as it pains me to say that it feels like a global power is inevitable or else mia single global power. Yeah like like a freaky empire a freaky one empire thing. I think that could happen but it couldn't be permanent. I could see a Agassi see something like nineteen eighty-four political situation existing where there are three huge states. That have always been at war with each other always been allied with one another. But if you if you play the great game effectively you could convince. Let's let's say there are three right in one thousand nine hundred ninety four. I'm just extrapolating here. But if you're playing the great game effectively enough then you could convince. If you're one number one you could convince eating two three kind of below board or through espionage or will have redoing it. You could convince the people who live in two and three that two and three still exists. And everything's okay. Nothing has changed when really the power is with the with only one so so simple. Just lie to billions of people. Never get caught. Yeah it takes you to aldous. Huxley's yet world and when you combine nineteen eighty four and brave new world. Then you start getting close to what our world looks like a brave new one thousand nine hundred eighty four. Yeah that's kinda cool man on my mind. When i think all right this is gonna sound a little bit fringe. I'm sure person much smarter than me as figured out this theory. This is just my two cents entirely speculation. "Something that they that they hold up to and that they are allowed to hold up to buy anything else. Because what's interesting when you read about this. Is that many of the people in the situations here especially historically many of the people who were eurasian elites you know llamas or Emirs and stuff like that. These people learn very careful balancing. Act no so you would say one thing to the british. The play them off the russians in order to hopefully make your area of the world a little bit better or at least a little bit less dangerous. It's interesting now the world in which we live where so much is open war at least able to be captured as for everything from A cable that sent from one country to another one diplomat to another licey interception interception. And now it's open just like what happened with those diplomatic cables that got leaked. It shows you exactly what you're talking about where we're we're playing a game all all. All countries are playing some kind of weird game to make everyone think that no. It's cool man or good is it. Is it sort of like that game where you listeners. Did this when you were a kid. We had this game where we would play tag in. A library. Couldn't run because you are being watched by teachers. So there were a lot of people power walking after each other until the eyes of the teachers were off them for a moment. At which point. That made mad dashes. I ever do that a hell. Well we could try in the office. I don't know who would who would care but this this is interesting because you know we always liked to do a little bit of Further reading a little bit of stuff to recommend a this whole topic while might seem a little bit dry and removed from the average person's life especially in the united states or in europe The point of the matter is that people who are in charge of state level decisions..

"A peer level regional power due to infighting do to the tremendous influence of both the british and the russian empire's today. China is ascendant and one of its big concerns in. Eurasia is fortifying its security in western china and making sure that it has secure access to energy so this this means petroleum From the middle east and central asia natural gas any of those products. Interestingly enough China's also the world leader in construction of some alternative energy world leader and building solar solar is it. I mean there is no question. Will there will be huge. And i don't know how you can ever stop solar power from becoming the next thing just because it's once it passes that threshold of being able to make it cheaply enough. Yeah then. I mean it's always overall the other energies can go take a hike man because the sun's not going out that does we're going out so that's interesting we say it's now The big the new anglo player in the great game is of course as you said the united states. There's some strange similarities here. Because united states like the british empire in the beginning the great game does not actually have sovereign territory. They're they're interested in establishing a hegemony a Ajami many people would argue for the purpose of collecting resources and also for the purpose of preventing other threats to that rule You know the biggest one would be a lot of people. Think the biggest one would be either china russia but if you look at the way they're playing the game iran is the one is the country in the target in in the in the scope sites yeah They've got a really big friend in the middle east that you know we have a really big friend in the middle east that we have to protect Israel iran is. There is certainly their biggest. They feel that iran is their biggest threat. So we'll saying that is making the us an necessarily do what it's doing but it certainly helps now. I think you know. I think that the united states is looking at iran for a different reason for a much more pragmatic. Now you and. I had already talked about this in an earlier show and we're both fairly skeptical. I'm even dismissive of people or politicians. At least who make arguments for wars based on ideology just doesn't cut it. I don't i don't believe it. I wanna see some numbers. And i think there is a number play here in preventing iran. There's also that very interesting Conspiracy theory about petrodollars right and and that brings petrodollar. Bring the back of the us. At least that's what i've been hearing on the financial hedge Hegemony and saying the word too often. Now we know that we know that. The united states like china wants to secure access to reliable energy For itself but also for another player in the.

"An article about is russia. Russia become a superpower. Yeah you probably heard some. Varying assessments is probably the most severe word to use here of russia's ability on sometimes people will say that the only reason russia is at the level it is in the un security council is because of world war two that it's just a legacy from that or that it is a developing nation. That's there because it has a stranglehold on gas and often weirdly enough. In the united states of conservative politicians like to say that the united states should begin exporting natural gas to europe as a way of curtailing russia's influence. It is also fair to say that at this point. Those guys are the nicest way you could say it as optimistic as literally the nicest way but yeah so the idea of russia. Venus superpower is something that is tremendously important to russia's long term strategy right and could be threatening to other countries but not just the united states. Because i think it's obvious matt that you and i both believe the great game continues. I think it absolutely does. And perhaps just a few more players have joined l. Yeah yeah would you. Who who would you say is joined the game. Well the chess board. Well certainly the united states Certainly china Just if you look at some of the spying that goes on and now the spying the us continues has been and continues to write implement Oh yeah as we're as we're recording. This uncle merckel the prime minister. Germany rate was in the news for a being rejected. By the nsa. When she asked hey can you guys give me the stuff you stole from my cell phone. Yeah can i at least see the things mile on me. yeah. I understand why they wouldn't do that but stuff to look classy doing that going back to going back to this. Yeah the to to the big new players in the game are china and the united states for time china was not able.

"Because it makes you think. Doesn't it that this game has been playing for quite a long time. I mean i know chess games can take awhile. But jesus yeah. That's what hallmark That's over one hundred years one hundred twenty thirty years. Yes so it's been going on for a while and that led us to think about how the great game has molded the world in which we live today so the great game has had effects on afghanistan. Which were they are. They have been catastrophic in. Its it's limited the possible development of afghanistan because of the separation act. That's occurred the quiet relation of of power inside that country yen And that that country was also used as a buffer state to Because you know it's between russia and india or was it the time battles if there ever was a battle between those two powers that's where it's gonna take place and those effects of course were catastrophic. The other this don's were also influenced kazahstan tajikstan kirghistan pakistan as well Because they ultimately were quote unquote one by the via part about the russian side zoo. They remained part of the. Us are You know they remain part of russia effectively even after the revolution in nineteen seventeen and when they were under this era of soviet rule. There were still really important from a geopolitical stance. Because they they had these massive resources. I think many. Check me if i'm wrong. Undis- i think is becca. Stan was known as one of the bread baskets of russia so they supplied the soviet union with with A lot of food and unfortunately because the central planning a lot of people starved while they were exporting food It turns out that the resources that are acquired in these areas When you're in control of those areas end up having huge impact on what you're able to do that. Don't necessarily affect the bottom line of the empire right because these are like having extra resources so One great example is the the eurasian opium fields and they basically gave england the means to peddle drugs to china. In what oth ultimately became the opium wars was basically an extra resource for them to get more money right. Yeah because if you think about it they're not growing opium in the british isles. They're not they're not should they be completely against it right. Yeah my backyard. Kind of right and right on makes you think about the current afghanistan right where production has skyrocketed. Is that crack Yeah some of the same opium fields as a matter of fact in that is strange The opium wars deserve a podcast all their own. But for now this quick recap just a high level look at the nature of what's going on brings us to the big question of the day. When when do you think the great game stopped or do you think it stopped between those two powers specifically i i mean how. How could you ever prove that it stopped right. Yeah it's a good question because it's so much of it was waged in clandestine way and dependent upon espionage. And you're you're still looking at two massive. I mean there's there. There are large powers. I don't know if russia's considered a superpower anymore and believe they are. I've just read was reading..

"Point we have these two huge empires england. The british empire is expanded all over the world by far their favorite thing that they have conquered is india. It is the crown jewel as it was called the british empire and they want to safeguard this crown jewel because You know england collection of islands. Excuse me the british isles collection of islands and so this. This smaller nation in terms of landmass had conquered a much larger area and had enormous geopolitical influence. Because of this so they want to keep that piece of the pie but russia wants something else. yeah russia's just trying to expand Expanding its borders is trying to acquire more and more resources and established trade routes to send those resources through Basically send them all over russia and they really just want to maintain their influence over the region. Because you know india. Isn't that far from their borders right. So we've got yeah exactly. We've got russia expanding of trying to essentially annex more nations or at least in incorporate them and we have england saying well. How fast as russia growing here. Because we already called dibs on india. Which i know sounds cavaliers especially when we're talking about the deaths of literally millions of people here but these were the attitudes at the time. These governments a lot of the people making the decisions we have to remember were monarchical so they were removed from you kind of considering the common people of their own countries as people will sure we. We tend to forget. Sometimes that when you're in a palace or boardroom. Or just sitting in a a a an ivory tower ivory tower somewhere looking at all of these ideas you the best way to look at them is when make them very small make small. Let's say i don't know table wooden table. It's the size of western. And that's the that's the size of the world and you look at with little pieces. Okay here's where the resources are. Here's where the cities are the. We wanna maintain this area. You.

"Celtics Legendary player coach broadcaster Tommy Ison passing away at age 86 where the guy was incredible over more than 60 years. You know, with the Celtics, you know part of all their championship 17 championships between a player coach broadcaster. I mean, pretty amazing life that Tommy Heinsohn lived 1934 to 2020 thiss guy was A lot of fun to listen to he get, you know, Hey, got on the bad side of Knicks fans back in the day. He was somebody that had a short fuse when he was coaching. But he was a gamer. I mean, If you were playing Frank's in or if you were rooting for I intend you felt good because this guy never quit. And I mean, he called timeout. Sometimes in games that looked like there's no chance to win this game. He'd have you played. He come up with some strategy. I mean, I like times, and I thought he had a great basketball mind. Just like you be Brown when I listen to you, you know, is a color commentator. Oh, man, That guy gets it. I got the same thing from Tommy Heinsohn. He knew that he knew the game inside out. And was a solid player but really was a solid coach for many years with the Celtics a CZ well and I remember growing up. And watching a lot of those playoff games. You know, back the Eastern Conference back in the seventies late 60 seventies, and you saw the Knicks in the Baltimore Bullets. They were back in the day and then you know, those were great games, and then you got to the next round. And a lot of times there were those those Celtic teems with Honda John Avlon check and and number 10 Jo Jo White. Uh, you know so many great players, Paul Silas on that team, and just just a bunch of good, solid players. And, of course, the Celtic teams in the eighties with you know, D J and Bird and Change, and Robert Parish, the chief Boy. Lots of good stuff with that Celtics organization. But, Tommy, I said, part of it for as long as anybody and he will be missed, But 86 years old, I'm sure Tom, you tell you Hey. Lived one heck of a good life. We heard that come from our good pal Alex Trebek, who passed away 80 years old Tommy Heinsohn. 86 years old. Ah, lot of milestones there and a part of that Celtics team for a long, long time

We're here with comedians jordan. Clever from the daily show. And judy hegel from late. Night with seth meyers. Are you to ready for another game. We adapted or outright stole from other languages so ready to give you the origins of alone word. You tell us the word okay. We're going to the root and then you're gonna okay. Great okay all right jordan from an italian word meaning scratch. it's the spray painted artwork. You see on the sides buildings graffiti. Yeah that's right. And graffiti is the plural of the italian word So i guess when you just do one spray paint. That's gra fito. I like arguing. That in court your honor graffiti minor a lesser sentence. That's the most annoying graffiti artist out there. Who is out there tagging buildings there's like actually technically graffiti all jenny. Here's one for you okay. From the french term for a heavy twelve fabric made in the city of neem. You probably not wearing pants made of this material right now and maybe you never will again. So i'm looking for fabric fabric. That they make pants out of a by won't wear it again. Well 'cause it's pandemic times zooming so we don't have to wear pants. There was that was zoom joke. I wonder if that was like a hint that it s best us or something along. Those parisians bestest pants. I know i really nice. This is the best ones. They're expensive but they're worth it. Is it denham denham. Denham is correct. Yeah well done yeah. I can't get the lethal weapon question with somehow the fabric the fabric from the jordan. Yes from a word for a corpse reanimated by supernatural powers in english. It means an undead creature. Zombie me correct. Some big yes yes. I thought it was a word grade by grade berries all right. Contestants are a couple in quarantine nico santos from nbc's superstar and two times survivor contestant. Zeke smith nico zeke. Welcome to ask me another. Hi how is your quarantine going. I think going pretty pretty well actually only got a couple of fights which actually to me. I feel like they were just missed. Communications that led to your slightly spirited disagreements nico. You're in the middle of shooting superstore when all of this happened right. Yeah we were. We had only one episode left to film and then we had to shut down production. Yeah we went up to burbank and we cleaned out his trailer and took the toilet paper with us. We did like walk around. The superstar sent seeing if we could find toilet and mysteriously all the toilet. Paper onset disappeared really. Isn't that interesting yeah Before any of us got to it somebody else. Well i mean you could also say that you have you have some really great set designers who are concerned about accuracy and they knew store set is going to be out of toilet paper. So let's take that is that is the one great thing about working on a show set in superstore. Is that anything i wanted. I could just ask for when i moved into our apartment. AMD is hitting it BIG with NAVI

"Week we're going to be talking about where I'm going to be talking about. I'm the only one here is cyberpunk 2077 Ubisoft hyperx MSI ever media's new webcam have got those new virtual webcam. Basically through an app will get into that home video course are as well or course, you know got those going to be the same thing. And then the biggest thing would be talking about is the big navvy announcement to actually happen this week and looks very interesting in the GPU market right now, but let's get on with the show. So first off we have that no man's sky is actually going to have next gen performance on everything off. Means PC Xbox series ex and the PS5 as well. So you're going to get that type of experience as which is based going to be 4K in time frames per second obviously in PC if you can unlock the frame rates, you can actually do it for more but right now graphics cards are getting there where it can actually do quite a bit of frame rates per second in 4k, but not quite yet. I think a few Generations will be able to see like the probability or at least Uncapped or way over a hundred frames per second in 4k in video games, but it's going to be a few generations for that one as well as technology gets better. The graphic Fidelity gets back plus with different types of features helping with that process. It just makes it for an all better experience in gaming in general. So look out for that and annulments guys. I actually do recommend. No man skies. I think it's actually really great right now. I think what they've done over the three or four years of since it's been out his make a really great game, even though when it came out it was not that good. But now it's actually really really good. So look out for it now moving on to Ubisoft and the rebranding of the digital distribution site plus their subscription is being rebranded as well. It's going to be we saw connect and it will be soft plus so they're basically getting rid of any type of creative title for just an ordinary title in general. Now the subscription service will be on stadia and Amazon's Luma which is basically their version of cloud gaming because cloud gaming is going to be the biggest thing moving forward right now. We have Xbox we have Amazon coming out soon. We have study we have In with the Geo Force now just to name a few it's going to be interesting. I think Google's going to lose this battle, but they sure are going to try to not lose this battle whatsoever. But they're just not really a gaming company don't really understand that much about it in general but it's interesting to see where it's going in the next five to ten years. Now speaking of free games. There's a few free games. You need to look out for first of all, the epic game store does have the Blair Witch Project Free or Blair Witch as it is the Blair Witch video game. It's free until November 5th 8 a.m. Plus Ghostbusters the video game remastered same time. It's going to be available until it's free, which is November 5th at 8 a.m. So go pick it up if you may well want some free games. Might as well just pick it up anyways, but speaking of free games. There's also the elite dangerous Horizon is free for all players. So if you have the dog, Game go pick it up for free. It's a nice addition where you can actually land on planets. Now. The new edition is coming out where you can get out of your spaceship and that should be interesting as well because it's actually I'm eventually going to be competing with Star Citizen and Star Citizen isn't even out yet, which is another interesting tidbit to know that star system is still in development and will be in development hell for a very long time until they feel it's right to release it whenever that actually is but should be interesting to see when they actually released it if they're going to release it or if they're just going to have them we're basically as it is right now the movie on to cyberpunk 2077. It seems like it's actually going to be released in 2077, which is a very long time for me to preorder a game. But anyways Jokes Aside has been delayed again until December. So Twenty One days later than the 3rd delayed release date even though it's gone gold. They're still trying to basically make it work on the consoles CD project project read said that it's ready for PC, but it's not ready for the consoles which is kind of funny to actually see because it's like well if it's ready for PC, then let the PC players play it I mean we don't care about consoles don't want to play this game on consoles. I want to play this game on PC because I prefer to play on PC in

Justin Turner celebrates Dodgers' World Series-clinching win on field despite mid-game positive COVID-19 test

"Jeff Passan you are somewhere in Arlington Texas right now it is one thirty eight am eastern time. So where exactly are you and I guess what's the last hour of your life been like? I don't know where I am right now Jeff. Passan covers baseball for ESPN and has been unbanned from this podcast after planting the Randy Arosa Raina Song in all of our brains last week. I'm I'm living in I'm living in Corona virus hell right now because I- Pablo I've been covering baseball for seventeen years now I have seen the Boston Red Sox win their first world series eighty, six I've seen the Chicago cubs win their first world series in one, hundred, eight years and I'm not sure that I've seen anything is crazy as what happened after the Los Angeles dodgers won their first world series in thirty two years tonight I mean let's get right into this then because what was the weirdest baseball season ever has ended with the weirdest world series after ever say and there's a great game to dissect here but. It's really hard to bury the lead of Justin, Turner the dodgers star Third Baseman getting pulled some time after his third at bat in that game because he had apparently tested positive for covert, and then a bunch of other stuff happened Jeff and that's where you come in. So what the Hell happened I was scrambling as all of this was going on Pablo because Fox, right after the dodgers won the world series announce on their broadcast that Justin Turner had tested positive for Covid nineteen but we started this show is some breaking news after the completion the game tonight we are informed by Major League baseball that Justin Turner received a positive Cova test. That's why he was removed from the game. We have no other details at this time I get the word that, yes, he had tested positive and the way that the story was told to me was that Major League baseball does one corona virus tests per day four players who were in the bubble and for family members and everybody else. That test from Monday got SENT TO THEIR LAB IN UTAH. The tests were run and they came back late that and Turner's tests was the only one that was inconclusive and as the inconclusive result for Justin, Turner had come back right around that same time the tests from today that had been taken had arrived in Utah. Now, they were getting ready to spin the sample of Justin, Turner from Monday to to retest it and see if there were. Any different results, but they said, forget that test, the one that came in today the results came back in about two hours around the seventh inning at which point a positive had been confirmed and immediately Major League Baseball was informed of this called. The Los Angeles dodgers. It was fed into the dugout and Justin Turner was pulled from the game and told to isolate. Justin Turner. Did Not isolate and that's and that's that's the part Pablo that I think so many people are going to remember from this. The very odd seen on the field where Justin Turner at one point is taking a team picture with the Los Angeles dodgers and he's sitting next to Dave Roberts his manager who also was not wearing a mask can who is a cancer survivor? After he had tested positive for Covid nineteen I, think people out in the world saw that and said what in God's name is going on here. I was one of those people out in the world in my living room like so many others in their living rooms wondering wait a minute. This is a very sophisticated game with many protocols. How did Justin Turner get cleared to be out on the field doing all the things you just mentioned? Justin Turner. Did Not get cleared Justin Turner just wanted to go celebrate with his friends with his teammates with his wife who I saw a picture of him kissing on the field and with all of the people who he won this championship with I had a GM text me as this was going on. And he said, is there a super spreader event going on at the World Series Right now? And it's it's not an unreasonable question to ask now Justin Turner did say in a tweet that he's not feeling any symptoms that he's doing. Alright. So bats great to hear, but it's not like. This is the Los Angeles dodgers team Pablo that hasn't had issues with covid Nineteen

"First Up, we have two correspondents from comedy central's the daily show with Trevor Noah. They are taking a break from election coverage to come play some games. We have first time guest Michael Kosta who used to be a professional tennis player and Return Guest Ronnie Chang. WHO's currently it Australia Michael Roddy. Welcome to ask me another. Five. Thanks for having. US Surani you are in the future right with the time zone. Australia. Is there anything you need to tell US Ronnie? Yeah just wear mask. For the future of. where? Are you up anyway because of time are you adjusted the time or did you stay up late? Anyway I actually did wake up I was like God you went to sleep woke up again Yeah. No, it's okay. It's. Like I said, my whole thing is I don't even know what I'm just. I'm awake win someone emails me to be awake. All of Ronnie's email subjects are be awake now. So Michael I. Know this is very timely I know to say you used to be a tennis player is it understatement? You were you were a professional tennis player you've written a book about it. You have a podcast called tennis anyone what did you think about the US Open this year I have been completely astonished and proud That tennis has figured out a way to still hold its most major tournaments. I mean they US Open. Was Amazing. You watched world class tennis with zero fans. Yes. which by the way as someone goes to the US Open A lot I love. No fans because New, York fans are the worst. On their phone, they're all. So you it was I was very impressed. I thought I thought tennis has done a great job with it. Do you think some of the pro players were affected by not having the crowd? Yeah I. Mean it definitely helps the underdog. Yeah. Serena Williams is used to playing in front of Twenty, two thousand people. I was used to playing in front of one person two people so. When you're at the low low low and I never even in a tournament like the US Open. But you know you're more comfortable when there's not a lot of people around. So I thought it helped the underdog, but is there a better sport for social distancing then tennis seventy six feet away? Okay we have a couple of great games for you. Yes. Doing let's do it I'd love to play. Okay. So this is a true or false quiz about video games I know speaks to Ronnie's expertise because the last time you on the show we played into the fact that you like rebuilding intendo positions. All right. I mean I'm not even a video game Guy Competitive Michael. Yeah I was GONNA be the guy who invented Nintendo yeah. Okay. So what we're GONNA do is we're gonNA describe something you can do in a famous video game and you just have to tell us if it's true or something we made up running. The first one is for you great in the winter series, you play a superhuman monster slayer named Garrelt and after eight night out on the town, you can even get a regrettable drunk tattoo true or false while. I I know this game actually. Henry Cavill is the actor who plays this guy in the TV. Series of this, I think they were trying to do like. Game of thrones before video games or something that's the tone I'm going to get. So smoked in this game are you? Strap Extra Trivia. Yeah I can't play any of these games. I just know a lot of enough about them. I think and I'm going to go with true. That is correct. All right Michael. This one is for you in the long awaited Gritty Zombie game the last of US part too. You can pull out your trusty Qatar and strum a dorm room cover of wonderwall. I don't believe that. The video game companies would pay the royalties for wonderwall over and over and over again, and because I'm first time get on here I. Think you're GonNa give me a simple one right out of the gay. I'm going with. False your reasoning is incredibly sound. However it is. Actually it is actually. Lie here's the here's the tricky part is that you can choose between six chords. So don't actually license the song. You just have the cords all and wonderwall as one of the many songs you can play. Hasn't figured out how to license the cords. I try I try to patent C. Minor, but they wouldn't let me do it. Ronnie in two thousand and twenty trendiest game animal crossing. New Horizons you can make a Faustian bargain for your soul with a blue goat named Sherp actually over the pandemic I, was hanging out with someone who was playing a ton of animal crossing. So again, a game which I never played myself but in all my time talking my friend talking at me about animal crossing. Anything a gold or making a bargain with the devil in the game. So I'M GONNA go with false on that one at is correct. I Love I. Love. You were just sort of absorbing all of this information about video games even though you're not playing these. You're up on the news now I was talking to. Michael this. Is the last question in the charming farm simulator Star Valley Watch the seasons change and date various residents of your tiny town. But if you're not careful, you can also violate the Geneva Convention on at least two separate counts. Should you be able to simulate dating and a video game? Anyway. I know any of the stipulations of the Geneva Convention? Ask. This question. I I you're working it out you're. Talking I love this I. Love this. Thinking today's Day. It's probably best if you don't on aren't able to date within a video game, I'm saying false to your B s comment Jonathan. Lab. Sorry.

"Wjr whether it's new range or two feet inside the three point line for whatever it is or at the rim but guys gotTa jump up and he sheet Nova guys biggest against him? It's Kinda pre both hands. They're just making cheated. Challenge shots so I think it's a challenge. Mid Range shot. It was not a great shot but if it's a train look and the game and the action kind of you know creates a shot. That's a sixteen eighteen feet and you gotta clean look at the Rim any time of year the Korean record the room to me. That's a great job so I think we're over analyzed. There's been mid range shot but it's not good energetically Houston the rockets or like a read went threes and we want shock with the rim. But there'll be times where you'll see hard and she for Colo but most of the time it's going to be clean one just because people are trying to run him off three point line if you try to run people off the three point line because he machine so many then. It's still awesome marriage to being a good mid range basketball player from so. I think Uber Quiet. Running people might argue. Who's the best right now? Lebron co I I Austin Kate Meek Lebron's probably get the worst mid range game but those three the other two guys got pretty good mid-range Games and air okay with it. WHOA yeah take in what they can get right? You see it in football a lot you know if we want to take away the underneath stuff. We don't want you going over the top. We have to give up something something. You can't stop at all so we're going to give up the middle of the field. Now we think your quarterback can't make those plays and so you and if they do they're gonNA get yards out of Eh but you're gonna live with it because it's kind of like you're saying we don't want you to get into the rim. We don't want you shooting the three. So it's GONNA be. I think I like what you're saying. It's going to go the other direction which already has quite well Leonard. When's the NBA Championship last year? By pulling up quite a bit in the mid range you said with an open look winter and drew brees is GonNa be a first ballot hall of Famer because he can. I don't know how many balls he's thrown more than forty or fifty yards in the air for touchdown in his career but he's the most accurate accurate mid range accurate thrower. Whether it's a quick outs. Big Routes sitting down is whatever it is like. He's pretty accurate during the simple stuff. Yeah drew drew brees would be the equivalent of a great mid range basketball player in the NBA. And Chris Paul on the news about I think two or three years ago I saw Indra season shot attempt it makes and like basically the elbow area on Mike you know especially on the right side. T seem to be But they had these tiny dots that kind of basically for all the shots he made and he made some threes and they had some bats at the rim but he got a huge amount of dots. Right around fifteen seventeen foot elbow area. Why because starts getting old player? You know people like okay Can't let him get to the rim. He's GonNa lay it in so we're going to stay in front of him and they can shoot it in the mid range these problems in traditional or the best Mid Range players as well especially you know in his crime so I think things can be over analyzed to some degree but the game was gonNA continue until you to to the girl the way it's going I think some of that is is because of the international flavors will think twenty five percent of the NBA. Right now is the last. We heard international guys so because of that. That's amazing. Yeah I knew it was big got it was twenty five percent and yeah I guess when you think about it it makes sense. 'cause it's not just from many countries all over the globe. Yeah on so you know you're talking about about your really bisky around ninety just throwing a hundred out of out of you know four hundred forty jobs or something like that and then according to the roster spots whatever the case may be so you basically talking about a hundred guys into Labor has on a bled into the newly over the past several years so you know the passing and in the skill level when again just to spread court the type of all right so I want to touch on one the other topic and I know it's a it's a sensitive topic but maybe not as sensitive anymore because the fact that all the news that's coming out changes are going to happen but it's big saw it in college football. Obviously he's eating college basketball. You know I'm going with the NCAA getting paid for likeness. All all the things that are there. I don't think they have an idea as to what this will look like and how they're possibly going to control it you know and then you have one of the best players. Maybe the best or freshman in the country who right now for Memphis is ineligible to play. He they James Wiseman they were. They allowed him to play and they can to hold them out while they work through this situation. Asian and IT'S A it's unfair. It's it's unfortunate. I should say for everybody because you would want to watch him play. If you haven't seen them play you put on the tape and watch him play. He could be the number one pack. He's GonNa be a top three pick. It would seem like in the NBA draft. But now he's not allowed to play because of Penny Hardaway. I guess before he was ever a coach. Loan eleven thousand five hundred our game. Eleven thousand five hundred dollars to move to. I don't know what that all means that I don't know the court case or what's going to happen with that but college basketball is going through this chase. Young Young for high estate just had his situation where he borrowed money to fly girlfriend out to the Rose Bowl against the rules and all that and he had to pay a penalty when it ever came out they figured out Scott Two game suspension engine. What do you see? You've been a part of it. You've seen guys you've been around elite players. Evan Turner a top player going to be a top draft pick in the NBA. I mean he easily. You know as you Walk Down High Street his Jersey's for sale no different than Chase Young's jerseys for sound no different than James Wise Men's jerseys for sale and nj the different things that they would be able to do there's no doubt they can build a following while they're in school so there's definitely have that potential there but let's be honest. I mean people will make a lot of money off for these guys. I'm just curious as to as you've seen this whole thing unfold and it's coming in the news as to what you're thinking about it right now. Obviously things can change based on the rules on. We're not going to hold you to what you think. Thank but just curious as to we aligns with that right now. Yeah that's a great question. Eric Yeah you know I'm all for players had the the most The the best quality of life that they can have in college. That's leave. You know legal qualified. Let me let me rephrase that offer offers for guys being able to have that. I think the toughest part of this topic. I think there's a lot of people that have kind of followed the mob on but I don't know if they know the full ramifications of of waving a torch in the air what that all means My my only concern. Probably my biggest concern would be you know. The single hardest thing to do in sports coaching pushback anyway is to try to build a true team atmosphere and the thing that might search would be challenging. I'm not saying teams couldn't overcome this high into some type of paradigm to handle it but like a a quarterback is pulling down or Kohls down trump things jersey sales or autograph stations. Or whatever the case you you know whatever. It's really allowed for them to be paid for. And that's quarterbacks you know pull You know fifteen thousand dollars a year offense mind you know kind of you know to lockers away and hearing about it over and over and then.

"Started somewhere way young for this kid. He had his talent but he did. These things and I watched my son plain lane. You've seen him on different. Soccer teams are different sports or my daughters and and you see these moments where like this past week and my son played in a soccer tournament and he played great. His team was playing great in their winning and in the championship game the first goal was scored upon him. The defense made a mistake. He made a bigger mistake. He knew it he. He's like man. I'm sorry they immediately went to him in this ad Mil nothing to do with you. You did you're fine. I made a mistake. They took the heat even if he made the mistake. Like don't worry that was embedded in the culture of that team. He's been on other teams. Were had nothing to do with the goal and they immediately started pointing fingers. Goal is a tough position. Point Point Guards got a quarterback pitcher all these different positions in sports. But you watch a guy like that like that's the kind of kid that's the kind of man now he's an MBA. You want on your team but you're in Chicago. You're at their camp like did you. Do you see that did you witness yourself. Yeah Yeah and if you know a little bit more about Kobe the white story it'd be lost. His Dad High School. I WanNa say it was the cancer. But don't quote me on that and so is strata interview with Maria. Taylor you know now. I think he had a tendency or something. Like a charm or chain of something around his neck. Andre Hundred may have lost his dad as well and he had like a like a charm pitcher to them inside of it so again it gets back to his family and still offer you get back to shared experiences right shared suffering and what becomes on the other side of the equal sign of AH formula sometimes is authentic substance. And that's why you kinda get when you watch Kobe play. I mean you know. Here's a kid. Got Some substance down and to have that kind of you know both fearlessness. Enjoy to play. You know at the level that he plays with. Don't think that because of what he's gone through has trinity to see that. And so when you when you have and that you know recruiting. ooh That's a that's a coach's dream is to have a guy with substance. It's not about the just loves being recruited and most seniors. You know likes on twitter. Every time he gets an offer you know rusty say I've received another author or whatever it is it's about a guy that loves the craft that loved game than than you know what's galvanized that game. Sometimes it's a a series of fantastic experiences dammit and very little sadness or suffering A Lotta Times. It's because of the suffering that's galvanizing rupture the game it's crystallized alive right crystallized relationships. You really know who cares about you really in your corner when you walk in every game and be no nat. I WanNa cut it loose and so you know I saw that in Chicago. They again bears young t Carter not too far. Are you know age. Wise away from the New Orleans. Pelicans but integrator. It's a great opportunity for kid like Kobe. Right through this gate thrown into fire fire. Because that's GONNA be fast way. He continues to grow. So you hit me on it. You know you seem and Jim From being around Carolina area from carry that into the NBA is pretty cool to watch. Yeah it is fast. It's fun to watch and you look at a team like tables and you were saying that. They're very young market in. Zach Levine. These Zach Levine's like one of the oldest guys on the team I think maybe seemingly the at least plays maybe adopt the Denzel. Valentine is great. Yeah and it's which is crazy because I think you just in college two minutes ago but it's yeah are they going to the PLA- maybe they make a run. Maybe they make the playoffs. Maybe seventh seat but chances are they won't and I get in Chicago and stuff. Because you're you're in the shadows of maybe a little bit of Derrick air grows years when he was there but mostly right six NBA championships. You talked about Phil Jackson Roy. That's difficult that was long time ago. Now is the nineties so it's difficult to live up to but it's like I get it i. I can watch my teams and get really frustrated as a fan but it's not the players it's not. It's not the players they he didn't put themselves there. It's the organization that you could get frustrated with. Are they even committed to winning or is this just about money for them and now they're manipulating us to show up to the games and you're like they don't even want to put a good product on the court. They just WanNa make pay the dollars when you to show up into when you're there but you watch a team maybe like Chicago a little bit and you see their youth move and he say now. This could be fun. This could be a fun. Ride ride to be a part of the they're doing things different ways and you know you get behind that like we talked about before you're watching. Maybe the style of play the ways things are going because you said I think before we started recording again. Where is the game going? It's already evolved and I think you know if we talked to years ago. Say Hey what's going on. We're just seeing three three-pointers and this is the analytics right. We've talked about this now. Multiple tell you and I people are talking. I've just read an article and I saw these amazing analytics and you're like yeah you gotta you gotta use the the eye test but that includes the analytics but where where is it going we know three pointers right more. Valuable than a fifteen foot. Jump shot because you you know it's fifty percent more whatever that might be. So where do you see this game going because you know the warriors did what they did small shooting threes. They have great shooters. They're they're making it but other teams have caught up. Things have changed like. Where do you see the game of basketball going? I mean besides international which is obviously a major deal for the sport. Because you're seeing these guys come over here and there and other good athletes. They're unbelievable at fundamentals. They can shoot. They control their a lot of them. Happened to be tall which doesn't hurt. But they can play inside outside like. Where do you see the game going overall as we stand here today knowing that it's already evolved to this point? Yeah I think you said the phrase I mean the game. There's just it's gotten smaller overtime. You the days are keen needed. You know and coaches call claiming big there. Might I am isolated times where that happens but you know for the most part I think the game is GonNa continue to trend this way and though smaller where where the court has more spread. You know you don't see too many post moods the NBA these days guys got back to the basket kind of like an old school pounder to the middle of the floor and she'd jump. That's not to say that that skills should be coach in the injury. You know with guys. 'cause there's GonNa L. D. those times where you gotta you know you're still gonna be ready for the moment you know. Sometimes the moment might require that but the majority of of guys now don't have to be action creators. Meaning you know good you know pick and roll guys and then screeners and be good at finishing off the action that they create you know and so obviously with guards you know I think through quench eating is a big deal but you know I think the thing that probably gets over analyzed. The people talk about you know rain shop right. You've heard people talk about amid many shots. Not a good chat ran really well. I like maybe kind of asked her to that 'cause I think thanks mid range shots a pretty a good shot so but it's the it's the difference news challenge mid range. Shot was not. Hey good shop right. The slightly every defense wants to squeeze the offense and just shooting because every defense wants to protect the rim and every December Lisa wants to protect its main point line. And you WANNA try to squeeze the offense and too many tough mid range or inside the arc you know Ooh the rim of the range and the three point line St Range. How many tough shop can you force often to take within the be range each whether it's new range or two feet inside the three point line for whatever it is or at the rim but guys gotTa jump up and he sheet Nova guys biggest against him? It's Kinda pre both hands. They're just making cheated. Challenge shots so I think it's a challenge. Mid Range shot. "And then greater feedback and listen to it and exactly right. And then exactly right with the feedback Shane then. Okay. I spoke to fast, right? I was coaching a young woman. She had a job interview coming up, and whenever I spoke she she did the following here. Talk to me talk to me right now. And I'm gonna pretend to be her listening. So talk to me right now, Shane just say anything what I want you to do. Go to hunt. She would say so quickly. And I said are you aware that you are signaling that you're not listening to the other person and she was dumbfounded and she'd gone to Columbia University. I mean, good school, right? Great school. She said no one's ever told me that before I said, you say one ha so quickly. There's no way you heard what I asked you or said to you and all your signaling is you're not listening to me. I already don't like you. I liked her. I was a mentor. Right. And so so you need feedback and she was stunned. She said no one's ever told me that before. And I said just talk more slowly don't say a hassle quicker. Listen to the person let me encapsulated this little bit. If I'm in school, I'm in university high school. I'm doing physics the questions at the end of the chapter which most people annoy or or avoid and teachers may assign the numbers or the even numbers, right? You should be doing them all and not not looking at your notes trying to do them. And then if you're stuck go back and look in your bugs -actly, right? If you re read your notes, all you're getting good at is like following following problems. You've already seen before that's not gonna help you. When you get a new problem because that's what's going to happen on the test. I'll go one better. You wanna get really good try the sample questions at the end of the chapter before you read the chapter. It's interesting now because what that does is it primes you now all of a sudden row. How would I there's no way? Can answer those questions. Let's now you're primed as you. We'd the chapter of what's relevant, and what's not. And you also prime yourself for the following. What happens when I have incomplete information read what happens if I forget, the pathogen theorem. How do I answer the question that that's what I did the Princeton review, by the way? What happens when you know, only two of the five choices. What do you do? Right. Like, there's there's a whole range of things that you can do when you're skilled, right? So what happens? In a what happens is baseball player. If I've got sweating, my I fly ball is coming at me. What do I do? Right. I mean, you need to rehearse for the unusual as well optimal, conditions optimal conditions because you can't ever count on optimal ever. And if you get them great, you're lucky, so would you organize? What's what smirk students no differently now? Or would you take this same approach, which is like here's a page of judge in. How would you update? I would ask them to say at us breakdown at have I teach them how to teach themselves. I'd say okay in a little Socratic way will on their test on this material. Will you have seen the questions before? Yes, or no, no like step them through and get them to discover. Whoa. Reading my notes reading my notes just a total waste of time. Like, that's all they do. They take notes in class verbatim. Here's a skill on the test. Do pert back. Exactly teachers words or do you express them in your own words? We'll of course, you express them in your own words. Well, then you have to rehearse doing that, right. Right. So when you take notes in school, they're probably verbatim. Just because you gotta keep up with the teacher. Right. But then translate those notes into your own words because that's what you're going to have to do on the test. Don't we region notes translate them because you got to do that on the test? And if you haven't done it before you're not gonna be able to do it on the test..

"He always played pond. King four always play the same openings imagine always coming out with a right hook and then in the world championship. Switching up and playing. The difference bats have been going over. His games just like he was going over spots. And then all of a sudden this attending totally different doesn't look this in now Fisher was total bait and switch and Fisher set up the Russians for images figure this out tend twenty for sixteen seventeen years played exactly the same moves. So everyone knew exactly what he was going to do. And in the world championship only. He did something different which must have been a nervous. If you're on the other side wouldn't know what to do. You would have been flabbergasted like, oh, all the preparation. I did for Fisher is useless. I thought I was playing one person I'm now playing someone else. So so that was yeah. An incredible bayton switch that Fisher Paul. Yeah. Wanna come back to a little bit Titus to AI a little bit. But I wanna come back to the role of information in decision making sure heaters can handle way more information than we can as humans. You had talked about the pulse Hlavac steady. Yes. Can on the phone with making you elaborate a little bit of chore. So Uman beings have limited processing ability, right? Our brains are have very little what's known as working memory, right? We can't maintain a whole lot of information our head at any one point. And so because of that, limited processing ability. We we have a hard time with too much information. And so so we like to think that the more information, we get I mean Zing air quotes. Now. The better informed. We are and will make better decisions. But that's not true. And a seminal study was done by by a psychologist named Paul Slavic back in nineteen seventy four so pass low Vic gets eight horse handicappers into a room. And he says I'm going to see how good you guys are right? And so he says we're gonna spend today handicapping horse races, which is to say predicting the winner of a horse race and these had been racist that had been run over the last few decades that Slovak had gotten the stats on and he deleted the names of all the horses. 'cause if you knew the name of the horse give you an edge. So all you saw was numbers. It's all you saw. And so he said we're gonna handicapped forty course races. And we're going to do so in four rounds ten races each and in the first round, I'm gonna give each. Of you horse betters handicappers any five pieces of information you want? So like, you might want the way to the jockey. But that guy next to you the other handicapper he doesn't really care about the way to the Jackie and he wants some other variables. So each of you, whatever five pieces you want it and that guy wanted and each of the horse handicappers wanted they got an at the end of the first round with five pieces of information. They were seventeen percent accurate, which is seventeen or nineteen. Hold on nineteen percent accurate, which is pretty good. It's almost twice as good as chance. Right. A pasi. It's been awhile since I looked at the study seventeen or nineteen percent anyway almost twice as good as chance which is pretty darn good with five pieces of information. I say twice as good as chance there were ten horses in every race. So we would expect ten percent. Accuracy, just blind guessing just one in ten you got a ten percent chance of getting the horse. Right. So if you're betting nineteen percent, you've almost doubled your. Your results that's pretty good. And he also asked each of the betters to rate how confident they're they are in their predictions. And they were all I remember what it was. That's why I was confusing the two they were seventeen percent accurate. They were nineteen percent confident that was it. So almost a dental.

"Don't remember what libraries were and. In this day of the internet, and I spent weeks going they're going through every back issue of every chess magazine globally to find Fisher games. And if there was a fissure game, that's all I wrote down. I didn't copy Dan anybody else's game. So it was just my little mania. And so at the end of the year, then actually did in a couple of months, I had about seven hundred of his games in a little playbook that I had a little notebook. And I by hand written down all these games, and I play them over over over and over and he was the most famous chess player in the world. But he he hadn't yet won the world championship. He was twenty seven twenty twenty six twenty six at this point twenty six twenty seven and and by the end of the yard beaten that kid the kid with the smug smile horse. Yeah. And then and then couple years later, I was one of the best high school players in the country. And and my my team. This is from Evanston, Illinois. We send a team to New York. And we finished second place that year we. We won the next year and just by chance on Easter Sunday. And I was sixteen I was walking with my mother and near Macy's those of, you know, New York, it's on thirty fourth and Broadway across the street. I spot Bobby Fisher, which was like he was the most reclusive person in the world. And I said, mama. I'll see you later. That's that's my hero over there. And I ran across dodging traffic to get to them out of a crowd. He was enormous six three. Yeah. Like, but he was still the spot a minute crowd. Like, what are the odds that and and they just ran up to him. And I said, Mr Fischer, Mr. Fisher in nineteen sixty two when you played Reshef ski and Cillian why'd you play king rook three on move six. Like what was that about like 'cause I knew all of his games by heart, and it didn't occur to me that he would like to get lost kid. Right. And he was a famous recluse like just paranoid about everybody. But here's the strange little kid. Knows all of his games, and he just became a mentor. It was again, this was in the two years leading up to his winning the world championship and spent time with him before the. Yeah, I got I got a chance to spend time with them at the used to be a resort called grossing in the Catskills. If you saw the movie dirty dancing with Patrick Swayze back in the day. It was where. Muhammad Ali had trained, I guess he was I don't know if it was Muhammad Ali trained for one of his boxing matches there. So they offered Fisher chance to train for the Spassky.

"Lives. And then they execute with relentless ferocious unforgiving efficiency twenty four seven, and we don't even know why they're doing the things they're doing the again, you've been beings can't understand the two complex. They just execute. So so we have some hard choices as a not just as a country, but as a planet, we gotta come together on these things. Yeah. I wanna come back to chess a little bit. Sure. I know when you were kid, how did you learn chess? You went to school you played this guy at lunch you be. So my father taught me. When I was a boy, I had to be careful the questions, I asked my father because I remember one day he was playing chess with a friend. I was all of six and a half. And as it can I watch. And he said, yeah, sure, you can. But I had to learn the rules of the game. Right. And so so that's all I knew about chess. I just knew the rule. So it wasn't interested at all. And then in high school freshman year first day of high school kid in homeroom had a little magnetic Chesini turned around in homeroom. We had twenty minutes to kill. He said, you know, how to play chess. And I said, yeah, I know how to play very probably like. It's like saying I know how to play baseball. When you swing a bat once right? And so he beat me in four or five moves, and I got kind of pissed I thought okay, I'm going to beat them the next day. And he beat me everyday that we and I just thought he was so smug about it. I just I was a swimmer, and that's really all I cared about with swimming competitive swimmer. Right four or five hours a day. And I thought I just want to beat this kid. I just want to by the end of the year is my little goal. So I went to the bookstore, and I got a book Bobby Fischer's games and called my sixty memorable games. And I I played over those games every day after swim practice when I got home but play over the meeting, mentally physically. Euro I'd set up a chessboard and his book would play. He would list the moves of his games and with annotations. He would explain why he did. And did not that was a good move. Here's why that was a bad move. That's why so played over these games over and over till I knew them by heart. And I thought wait a second. He's been playing chess at that point sixty nine he'd been playing for twenty plus years, and I thought his more than sixty memorable games. I wanna get every game. He has Bobby Fisher Fisher. Right. This is before he won the world championship. So I went to the library. And I got every old chess magazine. I went to downtown Chicago on the train what thirteen and I went to the library people..

"Just play yourself and in four hours that program leapfrogged all existing human knowledge that the game and as. Chess rating of hard to estimate like thirty six thirty seven hundred compared with thirty three hundred it that program mind, you it had no Uman intervention. They just gave it the rules. And this is what was fascinating about it. It recreated all Yuma knowledge of the game on its own imagine giving computer the rules of syntax and creates the English language and Russian and Japanese and just on its own. It's like the story of if you had enough monkeys of eventually, exactly. But now, so but also with enough monkeys you create a lot of gibberish, but this actually create created it replicated all human knowledge any existence of that human knowledge of the game. And because after all human beings are pretty smart. But then this to interesting things about this Google, which is to say deep mind only released ten of the hundred games, this this computer program played match against the reigning software. Thirty three hundred it beat it seventy two. Twenty eight in one hundred game match with no losses that twenty draws. Exactly, fifty six drives. Okay. Right. And. So the reason is that even if God we're playing the software it's not going to God's not going to win every game because it's like tic TAC toe. If you don't make a mistake, it's raw you can't. So there's a limit. Actually, I'm how God's chess ratings probably like thirty nine hundred. I'm making that from being goofy. Now. So so what was fascinating they only released ten of the games. And this is what was interesting and so scary is that the chess program when you looked at the games, and again, I'm in a position to assess the value the moves how good they are. When I looked at the games. I went. Wow. This is this computer, so good. But then the computer would make alien chess moves seat prising moves not just surprised just like like, just go. What why is it doing that? So doesn't make any sense makes no sense. So get this. So for example, it is a rule of thumb with human chess players that you should even if you don't know about the game, you can sort of appreciate this. Your king is the most valuable piece you should tuck your king away in the corner and keep it well protected in this one game. The chess computer is called alpha zero alpha zero chess marched the king smack into the middle of the board..

"It's that may be that certainly where jobs are going, and it certainly were AI and robotics are taking things right in another. We can argue about whether it's twenty years thirty or forty or fifty some time in the next few decades, an algorithm or robot. Powered by our them's is going to do whatever you do better faster more reliably in every out cheaper. And that isn't terrifying. People in his that scare you. It scares me for the world. It scares me because people define themselves largely in terms of what they're able to contribute Ekka. Comically? And so what happens in a world where people don't have to work and that the the utopians go of that's the best of all possible worlds. Good people are free to pursue their dreams, whatever. But. Yeah. But I don't think logically. If you're not contributing to society, there's an impact on on use of person devastate in magin the personal loses their job. They don't go cartwheeling down the street going great now, I can write that novel that their death stated now matching everyone's out of work. And so so that's a that's a future we really have to to prepare for that. Silicon Valley has begun to prepare the world for that floating. Notions of universal basic income, right? That's largely being floated out of Silicon Valley because they see where it's going. They see what the technology is going and even creative fields AI is such a terrifying threat, Stephen hawking gave mankind of one and twenty shot of surviving AI a one and twenty shot, and you can do the math that means nine hundred and twenty shot. We don't survive a data serious. It is and Stephen hawking knows slouch in the IQ department. What is it about that? The that scares us so much threatens humanity in this case. Okay. So the the real threat with AI first, let's talk about how fast AI progresses. So right now, there is no I it's not really I it's machine learning pattern recognition. It's not really a what people think. Hey, I is an intelligence that left on its own can learn right. So let's talk about a domain. I know something about chess. Right. So I'm rated chessmaster with a life title. I'm pretty darn good at chess. So I understand the implications of this with AI. So the best Uman chess player in the world is a twenty seven year old Norwegian name Magnus Carlsen. He has a chess rating of twenty eight twenty two thousand eight hundred twenty give or take something like that. The best computer software that had been trained on the best Uman games. Right software trained on the best Uman games has a chess rating now about thirty three hundred would crush Magnus Carlsen in a match and the software. You can get on your iphone on your iphone. Yeah. Yeah. Maybe a little more maybe on your laptop. Yes. Your iphone softwares pie twenty six hundred your your laptop. Yeah. Crush Magnus Karlsson in one hundred game match Carson would be lucky to get five games out of one hundred like it just be a wipeout, and he's the human champion, right? Okay. That was the best software trained on Uman games. Google's company. Deep mind said what if we don't train it on Uman games? What if we just have the software play itself? So they gave a give it rules of the game. Nothing else else..
